Starting point is 00:01:30 You celebrate Thanksgiving? No I don't but I went to my Met up with my family last night I don't really celebrate it And then I'm vegan So I couldn't eat shit Duh
Starting point is 00:01:40 Nah just Family just laugh at you When you try to like They're like yo So you can't eat this either What's the vegan options? They're like you can't eat this either Y'all can't eat mac and cheese Can't eat anything
Starting point is 00:01:48 Made with animal products Well there's vegan mac and cheese But it sucks Wait what Yeah They didn't have no Just lettuce No I mean I had my food
Starting point is 00:01:55 Like my vegan food Before I went to my family's house But I ate So you just sat at the table I ate very well But if they put Yeah I just went just to chill If they put animal steroids
Starting point is 00:02:02 In the plants Then what's the difference Animal steroids in plants Yeah they put They put steroids in the plants Oh well I mean I don't know if they put in animal steroids in the plants, then what's the difference? Animal steroids in plants? Yeah, they put steroids in the plants. Oh, well, I mean, I don't know if they're putting steroids in kale and ground walnuts and fucking... Also, plants are living things. Oyster mushrooms and shit like that. And also, if veganism...
Starting point is 00:02:17 You're like a strict vegan and you don't eat anything that's a byproduct of animals. Plants are a byproduct of animals. It's from their shit. It's from their shit. It's from their shit and their CO2. So plants are not vegan. Vegans just want to be better than everybody else, like the old almond milk. I'm not one of those type of vegans.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Yeah, I'm not like that. You were early on the almond milk too. Like, oh, you're not drinking almond milk? Because I'm lactose intolerant. I can't eat almond milk. You got a lot of bodily deficiencies. Black people, we're not supposed to eat dairy, black people. I can't eat. You got a lot of bodily deficiencies. Black people, we're not supposed to eat dairy, black people. You only still eat it because you like to shit on yourself. Like, that's what you, that's your thing.
Starting point is 00:02:52 You like to have stomach pains. I like to shit on myself. Joe likes stomach pains. He likes to be taking a shit. No, I know death is imminent. So I live that way. So let's drink milk. Yeah. What the fuck?
Starting point is 00:03:01 Yeah, I just can't do dairy, though. So I was just like, fuck it. I also don't drink milk. And then I started really getting up and going to dairy. You niggas kill me trying to live. What? Yeah. Was that supposed to be a bar?
Starting point is 00:03:10 No, I'm kidding. Milk is gross. Was that an attempt at a metaphor? Milk is disgusting. Milk is great. Cheese is good. What did you have with your banana pudding last night? Not milk?
Starting point is 00:03:20 They have vegan banana pudding now. Fam, let me start the pod. Let me start. You didn't know that? No, I don't want to. That is good though. Wait, what's the animal in banana pudding? I'm just talking pudding now. Fam, let me start the pot. You didn't know that? No, I don't want to. That is good, though. Wait, what's the animal in banana pudding? I'm just talking about this.
Starting point is 00:03:29 We are now going to talk about vegan banana pudding to start this podcast. That shit is fire. Maul. Maul. See, you're one of them niggas. You don't know until you have it. Maul. And then you buy 50 buckets of vegan banana pudding.
Starting point is 00:03:38 That's just how you are. Can I just hear? That's all right. Can I just hear? Every vegan tries to convince us with. Buffalo cauliflower. Wait, it tastes just like wings. No, it doesn't.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Buckle up cauliflower. It doesn't. When it disrespects, split your neck, spit the tech, yelling out, baby, you're dead.
Starting point is 00:03:52 All the people see my face on all the TVs, laid out like Castellano on the wall with feet. And to my family, they're all agreed. Yeah, my mama, I can't judge her.
Starting point is 00:04:02 I love her, but trust her, she a sucker. With you, when I turn around, I pay the price and the liquor store burn you down Happy Saturday out there, hope everybody's feeling good, feeling great, feeling full Shout out to the people that had leftovers for breakfast, you know the vibe Fuck some collard greens up this morning with turkey wings, what's up? Bright and early, too. 10 a.m.
Starting point is 00:04:31 What were you? This album? Listen, man. Y'all won't say it, but Eminem took Cam's stuff. He did. You can make an argument. There's some DNA in there Listen to Confessions of Fire
Starting point is 00:04:46 Cause we was like See cause the way Cam was talking Confessions of Fire We thought he was talking What the fuck is he talking about Right Like a black dude from Harlem Talking like that content
Starting point is 00:04:54 Was like yo Cam bug it Eminem did it We got 200 lookalikes At MTV Awards I won't I won't debate What you
Starting point is 00:05:04 Oh hold up Kelly I got Oh my god likes at MTV Awards. I won't debate what you... Oh, hold up, Kelly. Oh, my God. There's also some big L DNA in Cam. There's definitely a big L influence on Em. I just want to get rid of the negative connotation of, hey, there's some DNA in there. Like, that's awesome, I think. We'll talk about it.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Hold up. Come on home with me. Early 90s, it wasn't pearly and shiny. I was certainly brainy Cause I ain't got no fresh clothes Ordruggy with the XO's My house had asbestos I'm fixing up a 60 pack

Starting point is 00:09:11 Receive the change I can't believe we let Cam say that He puts cinnamon in his grits Why did we let him get away with that? Gymnasium How about the palladium? Fuck it Can't be saved
Starting point is 00:09:22 Oh But the palladium fucking can't be saved. Oh. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, Joe Biden. Oh, man. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no It's Parks. What's happening? Park! 393, 394. Welcome to episode 394 of the Joe Budden Podcast. I'm your humble, gracious, grateful, highly favored, and COVID-free host, Joe Budden, here with a few of my nearest and dearest. Maul is here. Long hair don't care.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Yo, yo, yo, relax. Relax. I'm here. Go ahead. Parks is here, too. No, he just said you didn't care. And your hair is long. Maybe he cares. He just said he was acting like he cared.
Starting point is 00:10:08 Don't say long hair don't care. More cares about things. Are you trying to grow your beard out? What's going on? My beard has been like this for... I never looked at your face. It's good to see. Look at this nigga.
Starting point is 00:10:21 What's up, man? You starting to get the I'm almost 40 face Yeah Yeah I'm almost 40 That's when you The cheeks gain a little weight Yeah
Starting point is 00:10:30 You gotta take care of yourself Yeah I'm doing that Parks what's up man Long hair don't care That's it Yeah See Copy the ball shit
Starting point is 00:10:36 You got the curls going Parks Yeah man Curly poppy Oh that bad bunny just dropped Hey It was lit last night Had to let the curls go
Starting point is 00:10:45 Shook a tail feather to that one Well it's a little dark It's a little emo album The Juicy J we were shaking our tail feather to That makes sense Bad bunny got emo on him He always does a little bit but this one's a little bit more Is this his 444?
Starting point is 00:11:04 Y'all feel like that's Rory's line, by the way. Rory has introduced that critique to the culture. Because every rapper's been chasing that 444. Rory said, this is Jeezy's 444. I never said that once. This is Freddie Gibbs' 444. Never said that once. Like, Finn, you got to stop this.
Starting point is 00:11:19 What have I ever said that was 444? Last week you said Jeezy's album, this was his 444. No, I didn't. Not once. We taped it. I know, go find it. Find where I said it. Say Vaughn, find where you said Jeezy's album, this was his 444. No, I didn't. We taped it. I know, go find it. Find where I said it. Say Vaughn, find where you said it.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Or even elude it. I don't think you said it. Nigga, go look. What the fuck is you shaking that head about? I didn't ask you for your personal opinion. Go find it.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Go look, nigga. And if it ain't there, put it in there. I said it, yeah. He said it. Nah, he remember all the episodes by heart. Yeah. Word for word, all three hours.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Sonographer headass nigga. All right, my guy Rory is here. What's going on? Hey, Rory. How are you? Don't deflect. I'm great. How you doing?
Starting point is 00:11:59 You're not getting me this episode. I'm fine. Life is great. Everything is fine. Did I get you last episode? Yeah, we talked about his ass for 45 minutes. And my lack of fiber. Yeah, we did. E-Rab is here. Erickson,
Starting point is 00:12:14 Savon, the Don is here. Corey is here. Alex the Great is here. Gang, gang, gang. You already know the vibes. I want to shout out to Cash App. Sponsored by, powered by, supported by, enabled by Cash App. app thank you gentlemen over there uh who else do we need to shout out shout out to all the black business owners uh yesterday was black friday super important to acknowledge that as well shout out to everybody that enjoyed
Starting point is 00:12:36 uh eating with their family on thursday yes yeah rather saying even if it was on Zoom or something. A day to give thanks. Indeed. If you ate on Zoom you're a fucking loser. I'm a loser. You ate on
Starting point is 00:12:51 Zoom with your family? We hung out on Zoom and then ate afterwards but we did it Zoom. Just to say hi to each other.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Yeah say hi to each other. I get it. We can't be corny. Whatever. I want to see my family.
Starting point is 00:13:02 It's the best I'm going to get. I always get weirded out when you guys want to see your families. Why is that not there? I fuck with my family. It's the best I'm going to get. I always get weirded out when you guys want to see your families. Why is that not there? How many of them on Zoom did you do? It was four or five Zooms, and then multiple people at each one. How long did you stay on?
Starting point is 00:13:18 Hour, maybe. Oh, no. Joe doesn't love his family that much. Or know how to get on Zoom. Not Zooming with my family for an hour But I'm glad that that went well What else do we have to shout out in the beginning here Of this intro? Nothing, right? We did everything? I mean, not really
Starting point is 00:13:35 We got Cash App, that's all that matters Alright, good So with that said, how was everyone's holiday? It was great It was a Thursday It was different. We can't fight the fact that it was very different. Number one part in the world, man.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Yeah, I think it was a regular Thursday where maybe I started drinking earlier than usual. That's about it. And I hate when people get mad at you for eating breakfast on things. They're like, are you eating? Oh, yeah. That's my girl. Yeah, some eating breakfast. Yes.
Starting point is 00:14:03 Because eating when you're super starving doesn't go well. No. You have to stuff your face and get full in four seconds. So you have to line the stomach is what you're saying. It's your strategy. But it was cool seeing family. I saw my cousins, my aunt, uncle. It was with my nephew, my sister.
Starting point is 00:14:20 It was a small gathering, but it was cool. Everyone with masks six feet apart, I would assume, of course. No. Not at all. Didn't have a mask on, but it was cool. Everyone with masks six feet apart, I would assume, of course. No. Not at all. Didn't have a mask on. Dead sea moss. Yeah, sea moss and water. You were the only vegan person there, right?
Starting point is 00:14:33 Yeah. That's got to suck. I don't think I could repeat the words I would be called if I walked into any one of my family's houses on Thanksgiving or period and said, hey, guys, I'm a vegan. Just lettuce. I can't repeat the words I would be called and the shaming that would happen. It might help your fiber though. That's true. Nah. I need more.
Starting point is 00:14:55 So I won't ask you because you're vegan. Parks, Rory, give me the dish that could have been a little better. Oh no, we had a Dominican Thanksgiving. The food was good all the way around. We didn't have any traditional Thanksgiving shit. We had ropa vieja that I made and we had a Dominican Thanksgiving. The food was good. All the way around. We didn't have any traditional Thanksgiving shit. We had ropa vieja that I made, and we had lasagna and ribs. Everything was good.
Starting point is 00:15:12 No Park's lamb? Nah, not Thanksgiving. Got it. Why not? Only certain animals you can eat on Thanksgiving. Yeah, no, lamb's not one of them. Really? No, you could.
Starting point is 00:15:21 I just, that's not what was requested by the the family so i was it wasn't a dish that was bad it was one that was missing i missed the ham on thanksgiving i was a little upset there was no ham and you know sometimes when you throw a little ham near to little feelers out there like you know as men were never heard so it's just like you kind of have to slip things into conversation every now and then she's like hey i haven't had ham in a really long time i really miss ham. I wish there was like a holiday coming up where ham would be there.
Starting point is 00:15:50 Like, okay, we'll look into it, male. Male. And then I woke up in the morning and wasn't a ham in sight. Oh, no, they don't fuck. But it was good. Turkey was really good. Mac and cheese was really good.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing, all the typical regular shit. All right. Kill the suspense early. Who made the green pea casserole? No, that's standard. That was already in the fridge. We eat that every day.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Got it, got it, got it. Kill the suspense. You hear Joe's stupid ass? There was no suspense behind the green pea casserole. What was your Thanksgiving, man? My Thanksgiving was amazing. It was super, super light. It was just me, my mom, my two kids.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Oh, that's great. That was it. My brother felt a little under the weather, so my mom told him to stay home. Nice. And it was just intimate. Who cooked? Chef? Mom.
Starting point is 00:16:37 No, no, no. Mom cooked. Mom cooked. Nice. Yeah, Mom made greens, turkey wings. We didn't do the whole big drawn out Thanksgiving because of COVID. I didn't want to put that on my mom. We did turkey wings, too. We didn't do the whole turkey drawn out thanksgiving because of covid i didn't want to put that on on my mom we did turkey wings too didn't do the whole yeah turkey wings and turkey wings are fire i think i might implement that moving forward even when covid is over
Starting point is 00:16:53 like let's just do more turkey wings a turkey is ass well unless you do it right the best part about a turkey is the the turkey sandwiches a few days later when you slice it down. That's true. But on the day of, I'm never really going crazy with the turkey on my plate. If you get someone that really takes three days to season it and brine it and all that shit, it can be good. But a lot of people don't go through those steps. A regular turkey is dry and you chew it for two days. A lot of people just cook it like it's a chicken and it's not.
Starting point is 00:17:24 I'm putting my whole hand in there to get the stuffing out. Y'all do what you want with this. I'm stuffing it down. My mom's killed the stuffing yesterday. Corey is porking it, so don't try it. You got to box niggas out of the meals. Let them know it was wild. This pork and the stuffing, don't try it.
Starting point is 00:17:44 But yeah, plenty of leftovers. I'll be doing this till Sunday. I was offended when Savon hit the group chat to say, hey, do you guys want any food before the pod? Like, fam, are you black or nah? We are eating Thanksgiving leftovers until Sunday morning. At least. At least.
Starting point is 00:17:59 At least. Sunday night. Whenever it is that I have to order a dinner again, I'm going to be mad about it. I am. I think I've made it to Tuesday. My mom let me know that she is not cooking for Christmas. She got that out the way early?
Starting point is 00:18:13 Yeah, but like I told her, you're supposed to feel that way a day after Thanksgiving. Yeah. Like you just slaved over the stove for two days, meal prep, you ate. You probably don't want to look at another. Yeah, yeah. You don't want to look at the kitchen. So I get that. But moms, Christmas is happening. Saturday's meal prep, you ate. You probably don't want to look at another. You don't want to look at the kitchen. I get that, but moms, Christmas, it's happening.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Did you guys feel any sadness or nostalgia sitting in on Wednesday night with no move? Let's talk about that. That Wednesday night before Thanksgiving kind of went unnoticed as one of the bigger party days of the year. I think it's the biggest bar night of the year. It's the one. Clubs, days of the year. I think it's the biggest bar night of the year. It's the one. Clubs, house parties, anything. That wasn't always the night. It was definitely different. This holiday was definitely,
Starting point is 00:18:54 it just felt like a regular day of the week and some family was just... I totally forgot that the day before Thanksgiving is that go out night until Rory hit me a few times a year.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Like, what you getting into? And I was like, should I be getting into something? I was like, oh shit. It's the fucking night before Thanksgiving. He's right. Yeah, that's a term.
Starting point is 00:19:12 That's when you find the women that don't care about their families. Right. That's what you're for. Those are the heifers that we were just talking about. That's what you're for me. Yeah, we just need the heifers.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Oh, when you find some heifers. Oh my God. What you doing for Thanksgiving? I didn't even speak to my parents. Oh, no. Anytime you go out, anytime you go out, you meet the chick like, oh, you find some heifers oh my god what you doing for thanksgiving i don't even speak to my parents oh no anytime you go out anytime you go out you meet the chick like oh i'll go back to your crib like you don't have thanksgiving in the morning no oh all right well you gotta be out by 7 a.m yo you doing your family thing tomorrow i don't know my dad oh all right okay i'll call a cab
Starting point is 00:19:43 uh shout out to the people who the holidays are difficult for that's important uh All right. Okay. I'll call a cab. Shout out to the people who the holidays are difficult for. That's important. Yeah. And I saw a lot of that. I saw a lot of people down in the dumps. Prayers out to y'all. I understand how that goes.
Starting point is 00:19:59 But yeah, Thanksgiving was pretty quiet, pretty peaceful. And I'm ready. Listen, I'll tell y'all, I'm prepared to lock down for all of 2021. I don't think it'll be the whole 2021. Don't matter. It don't matter what we think. It's what we're preparing for. In March, when they said, hey, lockdown time, don't know how long it's going to go.
Starting point is 00:20:19 Do you remember the sentiment back then? How long do you think we can do this? And we did it for the year. So I just don't think that while I think that some things will slowly open up i think we're preparing to be indoors so i'm trying to not be depressed when thanksgiving is different when the night before thanksgiving is but i just don't understand there is a new norm for the northeast i feel like the rest of the world like it's just like your bro we talk about this like everybody don't have a huge audience. Everybody outside. Houston and Atlanta don't count.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Their lives have not changed at all. Yeah, so it's like. I'm dying to get a fucking Houston and Atlanta. Yeah, like I don't understand. Like, so only in New York do we have to like lock down?
Starting point is 00:20:55 Like, I feel like Atlanta has not locked down the entire lockdown. Well, Texas governor, the Texas governor came out and said, we're not locking down anymore. And I didn't know that the COVID cases in Atlanta were so, they did briefly, were so low until we looked it up.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Yeah. This is crazy. But deeper than that, listen, right? So I'm watching the news and they show the acidic Jews, like 10,000 of them gathering at a wedding in Brooklyn. This was a few months ago, right? No, nigga. This is last week, two weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:21:29 But it was for the rabbi that passed away at his funeral a few months ago. Yeah, they did that. Didn't he pass away from COVID? We should Google these things. Yeah, he may have. I'm not sure. This may have been a different one.
Starting point is 00:21:40 What's the product? I'm talking about the wedding. There were 7,000 to 10,000 people at this wedding. And Cuomo was beefing about it, of course, because he's saying you're endangering New Yorkers' health. This is against the rules. This is against the law. You cannot do this.
Starting point is 00:21:55 Sent the cops to break it up. They took this to the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Court ruled in favor of... It's really just... See, and this is where it's confusing, because the Supreme Court ruled in favor of religious groups. See, and this is where it's confusing because the Supreme Court ruled in favor that your COVID rules can't break up a religious ceremony. But that was a wedding. So that took me to, oh, so this Trump versus New York thing is going to get deeper. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:20 And I feel bad for Cuomo. I do, man, because that's fucked up. Yeah. And I feel bad for Cuomo. I do, man, because that's fucked up. Well, when they put out the stats of the highest rising cases per neighborhood, they were all acidic Jew neighborhoods. Yeah. In New York, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:33 Specifically. Yeah. New York, religious ceremonies and shit are not a safe space, particularly. People are singing and chanting and yelling. And they were. And touching. They were. Touching. They were deep.
Starting point is 00:22:50 They were deep in there. Yeah. New York City officials confirmed second city lockdown by December 1st. And all that says to me on a Saturday is I need to hurry up and get a manicure. My nails was looking like a werewolf last time they did this.
Starting point is 00:23:02 But is everyone prepared for the lockdown is my point. I've been locked down. I mean, this is life. Yeah. In New York. I've gotten used to it. It's getting a little annoying work-wise and trying to get things done that are like really important, non-social shit.
Starting point is 00:23:14 That's what I'm really getting annoyed by now. Before it was cool, like, all right, we'll get through this together. I'm getting annoyed on how much this is affecting my life in work. Like, it sucks. Your life in work? Yeah, like how much things I can't get done around all these lockdowns. It's tough to get
Starting point is 00:23:31 things done. Let's just move to Texas. Because a lot of my work requires people and being around each other. Just move to Texas. Let's go. Listen, I was trying to do that before the lockdown. Yeah, I've been able to get a lot of work done even in lockdown, so I'm not really tripping. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:47 All right. Where would you gentlemen like to begin today? Music? Let's start with music. Why not? It's Saturday. Let's start with music, then. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:54 There's a lot of music. Then fuck it. Let's start with music. Yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy, yaddy. Yaddy can put some up. I won't let y'all shame me into not liking that song, because I do. I know that there's this weird thing happening in hip hop.
Starting point is 00:24:09 It's like the gender wars and the segregation in hip hop. You think that's a hip hop thing? That goes beyond hip hop, buddy. Listen, I like that song. That's one of the songs that when I listen to the album, I like it. I like the challenge attached to it. I like it. I like all of it. Did you do the challenge? No, but I like that song. That's one of the songs that when I listen to the album, I like it. I like the challenge attached to it. I like it. I like all of it.
Starting point is 00:24:26 Did you do the challenge? No, but I thought about showing them the kicks for the day while that song was playing, but I was like, ah, they're going to think I'm corny. Has nothing to do with your body. Letting that be the kick soundtrack. Because what do dudes have? We don't have nothing. No, we don't.
Starting point is 00:24:43 Beards. I want something. Beards. Nah. Fuck that. I get one shape up have nothing. No, we don't. Beards. I want something. Beards. Nah. Fuck that. I get one shave up a week. I need more than that. I mean, put a weave in.
Starting point is 00:24:50 That's why niggas was doing money phones. Yeah. We tried to make that a man thing. It looked stupid. Yeah, it was dumb. And then the women took that and looked better doing it. Much better. We need something we could do to entice the ladies to fuck us.
Starting point is 00:25:01 Entice. Entice. Entice. That's a hilarious word. That's not what we do as men? Entice, yeah. that's not what we do is man entice yeah we love to entice yeah all right we're not starting with uh meg but uh the meg mentioned made me want to ask y'all if what what albums have grown on you maybe in the last few months what albums are still in rotation for y'all in the last few months? I feel like now we kind of visit shit, check it out, critique it, and leave. True.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Is there anything that you heard different later on or just grew on you or just stuck to your soul differently than when you first heard it? I know that's a question that we didn't have written down. I didn't have anything written down. But if y'all have an answer, we can get back to it. Maybe not a full project, but definitely some records that I was kind of iffy about it when they first dropped. And then now I'm like, oh, those records, all right.
Starting point is 00:25:52 But I think we talk about them. Let me look. I'm definitely still, we were talking about the Brandys. Meg did 95. We're all wrong, by the way. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was another thing I saw.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Is that good or bad? It's pretty bad. That we were all wrong. Oh. That we were all wrong? I don't think 95 is a bad number. It's not a bad number. Do you think it's a bad number for her?
Starting point is 00:26:09 I think it kind of is. For Meg, I think that's a bad number. She had a lot of hype going into this. The album sounded really expensive. So from a logistics standpoint, I don't know if 95 is the best. But 95 for an artist in that world, I think it's fine. I thought her momentum was a lot higher than 95. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Well, you guys said she was going to sell 500,000 in the first week. That's not true. We said over 200. I said 150 to 200. Over 200 is not a stretch. Especially when you have
Starting point is 00:26:34 a hit, hit, hit single. A hit, hit, hit single. But I don't know if they're doing that the same way anymore, Parks, with the streaming, where if you have 7 billion on your single
Starting point is 00:26:42 that that equates to your album sales. Oh, they changed that. I don't think that's... But didn't they add something where it's like your YouTube streams count too? That's added, yeah. I don't know how to quantify anything anymore.
Starting point is 00:26:51 Yeah, me neither. Oh, it says $103 million. But WAP wasn't her record. No, but Savage was, and that was a huge record. I'm a Savage. The Beyonce... That was a long time before your debut.
Starting point is 00:27:02 It was like a multi-platinum single. In the past couple years, that equated to very high album sales. So that's where my number judgment came in. So you were rolling with the hype machine and previous hip-hop tendencies. I was rolling with the hype of the album and the eyes that are on her now, combined with the fact that she has a multi-platinum single on the album. I think she might have two multi-platinum single on the album. I think she might have two multi-platinum singles
Starting point is 00:27:26 on the album. But if they're not counting the singles towards the album anymore, I would have judged differently. I don't think it counts as much as it used to. I think they've changed
Starting point is 00:27:32 that a bit. According to Chart Dad, it's 103 first week was the official number, not 95. That's a nice number. I think 103 is great. I think that's a great
Starting point is 00:27:41 first week. Yeah, that's not a bad number. Yeah, I would be happy with that. I don't know what that does in the school and how much you this but i don't know what it does for her yeah yeah i i don't because again it sounded like a really expensive album and i mean that in a good way like y'all put some money and time into this yeah um so i don't know where that does with your 103 she's won every or been nominated for every best new artist. She was on the cover of what was it Time Magazine or something major. GQ.
Starting point is 00:28:07 I try to separate the hype machine. She was not on the cover of Time. It was one of them shits. No it was one of those big If Park said it it happened god damn it.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Park said she got the cover of Time. Once Park's get to Googling you in trouble now Roy. Give me a second. I'm real. She might have been on the cover of Time. If she was on the cover of Time second. I'm real. She might have been on the cover of Time.
Starting point is 00:28:25 If Meg was on the cover of Time, I apologize wholeheartedly. No, if she was on the cover of Time, you got to do the body challenge. That's a fact. That's a fact. Come on, come on. That's not how that works. Come on, come on. Give it to us.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Do the body challenge. Body-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-y Yeah, go ahead and pull that up, Scream Man, because she's on the cover of Time. Hit it, Jack! Hit it, Jack! You got to do the body-ody. The 100 most influential people with Meg right on the cover, looking great. Take your shirt off, Meg. Get to it. Stop treating me like a piece of wood. Come on, show your little freckled chest.
Starting point is 00:29:01 I'm actually in good shape, Joe. Yeah, she did SNL like she had all the hype going I did not know she was on the cover of Time that's a big deal that's a huge deal
Starting point is 00:29:10 that's why I didn't believe it at first on the most influential people episode or whatever that's called was it like online or could I go to Hudson News
Starting point is 00:29:19 in the airport listen I wouldn't I wouldn't care where Time put my cover out I'm on the cover of Time I'm on the cover of Time. I'm on the cover of Time. How many magazines still have that?
Starting point is 00:29:29 That? No, no, no. That if you make the cover, it's a thing? You on the cover of that? There's only a couple. There's only a few, yeah. The girls have a few. Rolling Stone's a big one.
Starting point is 00:29:36 The girls have some that I don't know. The girls have some where the girls that do the cover, they just kill the shoot. It's like a Cosmo or something like that. Yeah, one of those. They got a few of those. Oh, Vogue. Vogue is still definitely up there. They're on the cover of those. Oh, Vogue. Vogue is still definitely up there. On the cover of Vogue.
Starting point is 00:29:47 That's crazy. GQ would still be up there. Yeah, I think GQ's. And she was on the cover of that too, right? Yeah, that's where her interview was. I thought it was Black Men's. Hip hop loves acceptance from whites. Like, who the fuck cares about all these white-owned publications?
Starting point is 00:29:59 Agreed. Or, listen, hot take, hot take, hot take. Ready? Here, shake the table. Hit a pot, hit a pot, hit a pot. Did Kelsey step on the release who's Kelsey she did
Starting point is 00:30:09 she did not step on the release no you can put your arms down now she did not none to think about nothing to think about who is Kelsey what do you even know
Starting point is 00:30:19 oh so Roy don't even know oh the friend oh the best friend alright cool I didn't know her fucking name no the artist oh I didn't know oh she name No the artist Oh I didn't know Oh she raps
Starting point is 00:30:27 No the MC Okay my bad Kelsey the MC Top five Not one Or two or three or four She gave us a freestyle Yeah she bust back
Starting point is 00:30:37 Alright see I'm gonna have to pull it up Hold on hold on I'm gonna have to pull it up No no no Don't say nothing I didn't do a freestyle Go bust in back Don't say nothing Don't say no, no. Don't say nothing. I didn't do a free cycle busting back. Don't say nothing.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Don't say nothing. She did it. Don't say nothing. You not ready. She did. You not ready. She busts back. This is the craziest story
Starting point is 00:30:53 of my life and I've been alive for 30 years. She busts back. And I lived through 9-11. This is fucking hilarious. No, she responded to Meg's claims that her chain got stolen
Starting point is 00:31:03 and that, you know, she took hush money and all of this. Like, you didn't think a response was coming? I did not know Kelsey Nicole rapped. I didn't even know who Kelsey Nicole was. She didn't think she would have to rap until she heard the intro to Meg's album. I mean, then you got to rap sometimes. Did she bust back?
Starting point is 00:31:16 I'm trying to find this shit. Busting back? It's available on your DSP. Yeah, I was about to say, is that number one on trending YouTube? I didn't purchase it. Who I'm taking shots at? F*** your person. You won't talk him to that s***.
Starting point is 00:31:28 That crash, that ball. Oh, God, no, no, no, no. You can't play Kelsey's record. I don't want any cleans on Kelsey. You can't play Kelsey's clean. I would refuse to listen to clean Kelsey. I need dirty. I need dirty.
Starting point is 00:31:37 You need dirty Kelsey. Dirty Kelsey's hilarious. Uh-oh. New Kelsey. Yo, I wouldn't even. Do we have a drop for her? Oh, yeah. No, we don't.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Kels. That was good. It's a shame we're here today. Troupee told us because of you. Because of you, man. Look what Dick is causing you. It was all good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:01 She kind of played it slow, though. I don't know. Hey. Was Kelsey her ghost rider all along hold up man let's let's look a shot bk look a shot for big pop in heaven don't disrespect big pop i'm saying maybe hou Houston will want to bust a shot for the coast. If I was the one with the gun, you would have heard about a murder. She's telling
Starting point is 00:32:31 you. She didn't have a gun. Plus, you peeped the syllable. Heard about a murder. That means a little syllable play. Oh, no. She gets crazy on the next one, too. I want to address the first opening bar. I'm talking to the same bitch that crashed the boat on 42. You're supposed to crash a boat on 42. Yeah, come on.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Have you ever been to Miami? That's what you do. Yeah. Where we go? Where's that line? Plus crashing a boat is a little less scary, you know.
Starting point is 00:32:56 Said her back was turned, but that girl know who really hurt her. Yo, I didn't even... And then the ad lib, I ain't hurt you, bitch. But I don't understand... I don't understand that line, though. What?
Starting point is 00:33:10 Because you said, I didn't hurt you. Like, is she... I don't... Nobody... Meg didn't say that she was the one that hurt her, did she? I just want to tell Kelsey that subconsciously or not, this has to be helping Tori's case. You saying you would've killed her if you had the gun.
Starting point is 00:33:29 No, that's hurting Tori's case, if anything. Who had the gun then? Because you did. It wasn't me. Hot potato. This is what I'm saying. Listen, if I'm on trial
Starting point is 00:33:40 and somebody else said, if I had it, you'd have heard about a murder. Oh, I'm putting that on them. That ain't me. Okay. And I'm not joking about this situation, I had it, you'd have heard about a murder. Oh, I'm putting that on them. That ain't me. Okay. And I'm not joking about this situation, but damn it, Kelsey. You want to kill your bestie if you had the gun?
Starting point is 00:33:53 It was all good about a week ago. Shout out Bobby Schmurda, but this bitch is really tweaking, bro. Now, turn that down line back on, man. Put it back on. Put it back on, man. We need to hear it in context. I don't want to shout out Bobby But this bitch is tweaking
Starting point is 00:34:06 So I got to shout out Bobby What is going on in there? It was all good Yeah About a week ago Shout out Bobby's murder But this bitch is really tweaking About the one with the gun
Starting point is 00:34:16 You would have heard about a murder Her back was turned But that girl know her really hurt her Never been a jealous friend And the people really know it If you would have kept it solid Then I would've been toted See, I really thought I knew you, thought that you would keep it G
Starting point is 00:34:28 If you wanna talk gangster, bitch, I'm really from the street I'm at a line to the D, I think I took some hush money Put a muzzle on your friends, y'all actin' like some crash dummies You got my chain snitch? Damn, here you go, line If you're A-list or left, you're doin' too much tryin' Where I get this money from? Bitch, you knew I was a hustler When you dip it to no one, should've knew I couldn't trust you Protected black women, huh, but you still impressed to me Hey. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Ooh. Look at the engineer. Let's go, Parks. Let's go, Parks. Drop the beat out. All right, Rory. All right, Rory. We don't need to hear the whole Kelsey diss track.
Starting point is 00:35:09 What the fuck is going on here? That's your sucking dick behind my back, bitch. That was my dick that sucked. Look who women fight about. Yo, I say all the time, if there's a stat that shows the amount of times that Dick has broken up a seemingly amazing friendship between women. It happens a lot. We up. It happens a lot.
Starting point is 00:35:33 We up. I saw somebody that will remain nameless tweet. Two women are fighting over a 5'3 weirdo. Try to tell me men aren't the prize listen did y'all pull anything from this from this diss track she told a little bit
Starting point is 00:35:50 I pulled a lot she told a little bit y'all pulled a lot from it but again this is something that I'm kind of just like minding your business
Starting point is 00:35:56 staying out of it's in the courts now yeah too late for all this all of this shit is just like whatever man I'm about to really sit I'm about really sit with these lyrics for a little while.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Yeah, I got to let this digest. I got to hear this on the bigs in the car. Yeah. That's a fact. West Side Highway at 2 in the morning. Never that. Hey, let me tell you. That's one of my best places to hear music.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Like on the West Side Highway at nighttime, just slow drive. Never the new Kelsey. Sorry. You gotta let it rock. Nah, I'm cool. Well, I don't know. Will Meg reply? No.
Starting point is 00:36:31 Well, I hope not. I didn't think Kelsey was gonna give us a go. I mean, is she really an MC if she doesn't reply to this? That's true. It's not hip hop unless you don't respond.
Starting point is 00:36:41 True. I did see somebody say you can't make a Who Shot Your Remix if you got shot. I'm not trying to be funny. Somebody said that. All right, forget it.
Starting point is 00:36:51 Never mind. Where's hip hop going? I don't know if we're supposed to edit that out. I don't think we should. Nah. Nah, you can't edit that out. These days, you're not even
Starting point is 00:36:58 supposed to laugh. Roy, get your laugh on, man. Get your show. Kelsey, I don't know if you started a music career or what. And I certainly do not mean to joke about this very serious situation. But is this her debut? Kelsey?
Starting point is 00:37:14 I didn't know she. I like that. I like people that don't rap airing out their grievances in a rap with people. No, I don't. I hate that. I'm not really into that. I'm the total opposite. I'm not into that. Leave it in the rap.ing out their grievances in a rap with people. No, I don't. I hate that. Yeah, I'm not really into that. I'm the total opposite. Yeah, I'm not into that.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Leave it in the rap. Stay out of the booth. Period. Where else she was going to get it off at? Where all the girls get it on IG Live. Bah. She get an IG Live this one. This is like one of them straight to DVD releases.
Starting point is 00:37:40 Well, she IG Lived a few times. And we're not going to stay on this too much longer. It's kind of over already. But she IG Lived a few times. And we're not going to stay on this too much longer. It's kind of over already. But she IG-lived a few times and didn't give too much information. This is the first time that we've heard from her extensively regarding the subject. So, listen, we pray for everybody involved. Still, I understand how that could be a traumatic situation for not just Meg, but everybody. Prayers to Meg, for sure.
Starting point is 00:37:59 Not just Meg, but everybody that was there that alters your life. Mostly Meg. Yeah, absolutely. Mostly Meg, yeah. Mostly Meg, but everybody that was there. That alters your life. Mostly Meg. Yeah, absolutely. Mostly Meg, yeah. Mostly Meg, yes. Yeah, I'm not sending out prayers for the gunmen. No. But it is getting a little...
Starting point is 00:38:13 Or will make it. That nigga is kind of just coasting, though. It's like that came and went. He's got an audience. He's got a capsule coming. They're commenting under the pics, the videos. He's got a capsule coming. They're commenting under the pics, the videos he's promoting. Hip-hop is a strange place where you can just have an audience anywhere. It don't really kind of matter anymore.
Starting point is 00:38:32 Just wait it out a little bit and hop right back out? Listen, man. Yeah. That's sick. What if he puts fire out? Listen, the question was never, we know he's talented. Yeah, but I haven't listened to any of his music since any of this stuff. And I haven't purchased any of his music.
Starting point is 00:38:53 But that's been a commitment from me. Because I do enjoy his music. So I've had to stand strong and you know what, nah. Not yet. Nah, I'm cool. That's because of the type of person that you are. You're like, yo, listen, fam, get this situation straight and let us see, figure out what happened,
Starting point is 00:39:08 and then we'll know if we can come back and support you. And I think that's what most men are taking. But that's where I hate the internet. And now I'm on a fucking rant. We're supposed to be getting into music. But that's where I hate the internet. Because before I was able to compartmentalize or just not know that some of my favorite artists were shitheads
Starting point is 00:39:23 or just did shit that some of my favorite artists were shitheads or just did shit that compromised me morally today it's like we know a lot about people now so it's like if you don't align with the right side of it's tough to hear certain songs that's all like i'm gonna shout today i put a playlist on and fucking his 112 tory's 112 remake on his last chicksicks tape came on. I was like, damn, I forgot how hard this is. But fuck. Nah. I cut it off. I got to shout.
Starting point is 00:39:49 Yeah. Because it just wasn't right with me. All right, new music. New music. New music. We didn't want to start. Juicy J. Bad Bunny.
Starting point is 00:39:57 Either one. Jimmy. Busta again somehow. The deluxe deluxe. The triple disc? Let's start with Juicy J because Parks was pretty good with Walker.
Starting point is 00:40:10 Hey! Body yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada. They're cousins. That wasn't Juicy J. They're cousins though. Are they?
Starting point is 00:40:19 Meg definitely did. Not in real life, but I'm just saying. Juicy did a lot of Meg's records. Meg took some of that sauce. Oh, that's what I wanted to go back to. He did the Sciss of that sauce. Oh, that's what I wanted
Starting point is 00:40:25 to go back to. He did the Scissor record. Hold up. That's what I wanted to go back to. The negative connotation with adding someone's sauce to your sauce.
Starting point is 00:40:33 Influence. Yeah, influence. How did that come up earlier? You was talking about Eminem and Cam. I'm saying, do y'all believe there to be a negative connotation
Starting point is 00:40:43 when that subject comes up and why? I don't think it's a negative connotation when that subject comes up and why i don't think it's a negative negative connotation if because the only reason i say it is because the the praise and acclaim that eminem has received in his career i think it's important to point out that you know cam had that style and was that some of that content early on so i think it's you know it's just saluting cam like you know that was you that you had that sound you had that style you were rapping like that but because you're from the city you're from you're from harlem you have a certain look it wasn't it was people knew it was it took a certain skill level and it was talent but it was kind of like
Starting point is 00:41:19 fuck is cam talking about almost you know i mean it was a little bit of that but then when m does it it's accepted because he's a white boy from the midwest and it's like okay we can kind of we see that but you from the streets of harlem and you play ball and the girls like you and you can dress and you were driving benzes and then you rapping like that it just didn't it was like yo what the fuck is cam talking about but it was still dope it was like yo he's spitting but the masses didn't gravitate towards it like they should have but it's just pointing out the fact that cam had that style and then somebody came and obviously because like park said uh big l influenced eminem and big l cam that's all the same family so it's only right to point to the fact that cam had that style early on it's just paying homage to cam
Starting point is 00:42:00 that's all it is there's a lot of juicy j J DNA out here currently. I mean, Meg especially. Yeah. Which I'm sure she said that. I think that he executive produced her Fever or whatever it was. I think. She has a lot of flow that's very Juicy J meets Pimp C. He's definitely done a lot of beats for her. Yeah, that's the Memphis bounce, the South bounce.
Starting point is 00:42:19 Yeah. That 3-6 Mafia is known for. There's nothing wrong with the influence. It's when you just completely jack somebody's style and you're literally intimidating them. But it's different if they die with them. You know what I'm saying? Is where I think the hate comes in
Starting point is 00:42:36 or the negative connotation of it is. Like, yeah, you want to be influenced by somebody, that's fine, but just straight ripping their shit off is kind of weird to me. If there was an era and if there was an era of hip-hop that you would pick to try to get on in a demographic like a region it wouldn't have been harlem in the 90s like i'm sitting here just thinking listening to
Starting point is 00:42:57 y'all harlem in the 90s you would not know yeah no cam and l and well yeah but that's why it's important was coming to harlem and yeah but i said that's why it's important to- Hov was coming to Harlem and- Yeah, but I said that's why it's important that Mase gets the praise that he deserves because Mase birthed a lot of these rappers. Like a lot of them. Like Mase, his style, his look, like he birthed a lot of these rappers. And it's just that sometimes they don't get their just due because it was a short stint. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:26 But it was a very impactful, very important stint, though. Like, when I think of Mase, I try to think of his highs because that's how I experienced him. Mase kept the lights on that bad boy for years. It was short. He wrote a lot of shit. And I'm not going to say that. Huh? I'm not going to say that.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Why not? He was writing everything. Yeah, Mase definitely kept the lights on for a while. I'm not going to say that. Huh? I'm not going to say that. Why not? He was writing everything. After Big. After Big. Kept the lights on for a bit. He did. This was after Big I'm talking. Mase wrote a lot of shit.
Starting point is 00:43:53 He was selling a lot of records. He was a superstar. Yeah. Who's the guy now at the label that's tasked with actually going out to find that person in the streets? Well, we don't look in the streets anymore. No. You look at the numbers. Right? You in the streets anymore. No, you look at Instagram. You're on your phone.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Yeah, look at Instagram. It comes to you. That's why, again, back to the point I said years ago, it's easier to be heard and get on now. Because everything comes right here. I can hear a kid from Midwest that's super dope that I would have never heard about if it wasn't for smartphones and social media.
Starting point is 00:44:19 I would have had gone to the Midwest. That's got to make it real easy to executives today. That's got to make it real easy to executives today. That's got to make it real easy to executives today. It is. If I'm only going by data and I'm not going by pulse and feel
Starting point is 00:44:31 and what's going on in the city. But that's why it's tough for executives. It may be easy to go to your company and say, we should sign this person
Starting point is 00:44:38 because they have X amount of views and X amount of followers, but that doesn't really equate to longevity in a career at all we've seen that a million times people can get 10 billion views on youtube and let's sign them and they suck in the next record and it's over no no my thing is it's easier to get on it's not easy to stay on it's easy to be heard it's easy to be seen it's easier to get in these meetings
Starting point is 00:44:59 with and certain dudes i know now they'd be like yeah i was just at rock nation i was i met jay and i'm like how like you know how hard it is to get in front of jay like off of like one record that went viral that's crazy to me that that artists can say that these days and it's a real thing like you had to stand in front of the def jam building and hope you saw jay or kev or one of these dudes walking from the car to the building but just just so we're clear, I don't put Jay in this box because I assume Jay, and I don't want to say Jay, that's your family thing, I'm not calling him that.
Starting point is 00:45:32 I don't want to put... Jay-Z, whatever. We all have family. I don't put Hov in that because I assume Hov to have a pulse on everything or have somebody who has a pulse on everything.
Starting point is 00:45:41 For sure. So I would think that he knows the dude with the hot song and he gonna walk by just to say, yo, you got to keep it bubbling. I think you're trash. I think you're trash. I'm serious.
Starting point is 00:45:51 Yeah, no, you were right. That's what he told me when he walked by in Def J. Yeah, say that, but I mean, might as well. But you had a record booming. You had a deal. So imagine, Mo, my confidence is at an all-time high at 23. I'm in there in Def J feeling like the man. Hey, all you old niggas got to get the fuck out. I'm in there in depth. You're feeling like the man. Hey, all you old niggas got to get the fuck out.
Starting point is 00:46:07 I'm here now. Here comes the walk by. Yo, that's cool. It's a cute song. That's a cute song. I can't wait to hear what you do next, though. I'm like, next? I was talking to-
Starting point is 00:46:16 I don't have anything next. I'm running around. This is it? I'm spending my money. Yo, Harry wants to get this one. Yo, honestly. I feel I made a lot of mistakes. I don't have a next.
Starting point is 00:46:26 Yo, when Kevin and them, Kevin Lyle and them niggas was looking for a second album from Joe, never that. I was lit. I was gone.
Starting point is 00:46:32 You wasn't thinking about that. I'm never making another album. But when certain people say things like that. Have you heard Pump It Up? Yeah. But when certain people say things like that.
Starting point is 00:46:40 For the last three years. You gotta take that and apply it though. Like when certain people say, like if Jay tells you You got to take that and apply it though. Like when certain people say, like if Jay tells you that, I understand how that can sting you as a new artist, like, huh?
Starting point is 00:46:50 But when you think about it years later, you understand what he was saying. Like you get it. You're like, okay, I understand because it is, you can have a record. Well, yeah,
Starting point is 00:46:58 now that we're cool and I'm a podcaster, like y'all never caught that next one. That next one. That next one never came? It was tough to get that. You hear what I'm saying? I'm going to put it down.
Starting point is 00:47:07 All right, forget it. And listen, hey, fuck y'all out there for confirming that I can't beat Will Smith in a versus battle. It's like, yo, Joe, bargain. Yeah, sorry, Joe.
Starting point is 00:47:19 No, but then they put me against Black Rob. Oh, that's a nice little fight. They said, whoa, beats Pump It Up, and I'm mad at that. I don't know. I'm mad at Ooh, that's a nice little fight. They said, Whoa beats Pump It Up, and I'm mad at that. I don't know. I'm mad at that.
Starting point is 00:47:28 That's a great record. I think Pump It Up. They said, Whoa was a bigger record than Pump It Up, and I don't agree. Pump It Up crossed too many different...
Starting point is 00:47:36 It's dance. It's... Black Rob was dope, man. I miss Black Rob. His style was crazy. Yeah, Black Rob was, again, another short, but impactful skit. His style was crazy. Yeah, Black Rob was, again, another short but impactful skit. It impacts me more.
Starting point is 00:47:49 See, I like Whoa as a record better than Pump It Up, only because when the slow street record catch, it's different. It's much different. Like a fast record catch, all right, that's cool. But the slower one, yeah, a moment in my life was impacted by whoa yeah what was that shit what uh what do you play against can i live fam listen black rob is a tough matchup that whole album is fire yeah but the kids today when you bring up black right a lot of them don't even know what black rob is i know yeah they don't even know what black rob is
Starting point is 00:48:21 i know i said something about g-dep a few weeks ago And niggas was like I was like never mind He's another one of us I was like never mind Just never mind Don't worry about it Man Yeah The good old days
Starting point is 00:48:32 Juicy J's album is great With Bad Boy We went on a wild tangent We somehow found a way To make this an East Coast conversation Let's talk about Harlem But quickly though You have to give Bad Boy
Starting point is 00:48:44 That type of credit because people would look at- For Juicy J. For Juicy J. For all of Juicy J's success. For people that would
Starting point is 00:48:52 think that Black Rob and G-Dub would be one hit wonders, go back and look at the time they put into their albums. They're still amazing because Bad Boy and
Starting point is 00:49:00 Puff cared about actual albums and shit. True. G-Dub has really good albums. Black Rob has a really good album. I want to do a Juicy J appreciation day next week sometime after you guys get a chance
Starting point is 00:49:10 to listen to the album. Juicy J? Yeah. And 36 Mafia in general. Legends. Well, the album that just came out when you were playing it sounded phenomenal. That shit is crazy. That shit is one of my favorite albums of this year off of 12 hours. Juicy J is
Starting point is 00:49:28 in the strip club celebrating right now. Hello? Hello, this is Joe Budden from the Joe Budden Podcast. May we speak to Juicy J, please? What's up, man? Juicy J, we love you, man. Legend!
Starting point is 00:49:44 I didn't want nothing. I'm just calling to say we love you, man. Legend. Legend. I didn't want nothing. I'm just calling to say we love you, and congratulations on the album dropping. Thank you. I appreciate that, man. That's really something. Thank y'all,
Starting point is 00:49:52 man. For sure. That shit is incredible. I feel amazing. Dan, now your phone is breaking up, and I need at least two minutes with you. Can you hear me?
Starting point is 00:50:04 I'm okay. Oh, man, you're'm okay. Oh, man. You in a bad area, man. Hey, Juice, call back. Juice, call back, man. I'm going to call right back. Please, please, please. Juice is stunning on it.
Starting point is 00:50:15 He said, yeah, I'm flying over Bermuda right now. In the G5. Don't worry about it. Juicy J, right? And I haven't gotten all the way into this album yet.
Starting point is 00:50:24 Parks is telling me it's amazing. It was playing when I walked into the pod. Yeah, it sounds real good. And the first thing I thought was, can Juicy J make not bad music, but music that the consumer would feel is bad? Juicy J is always in his bag,
Starting point is 00:50:41 and it's such a big bag. That's the key, Joe. He has perfected staying in his bag. That's the key, Joe. He has perfected staying in his bag. That's the key. And I'm jealous of it. And it works. It worked in 95. It never doesn't work.
Starting point is 00:50:52 And it works. Like, we was upstairs last night and it was Rem. Who likes new music? But she'll be like, oh, she's cool. But she was like, who is this?
Starting point is 00:51:00 This is crazy. And I was with Brian's girl who listens like, not Taylor Swift, but like white folk girl music. This is crazy. And I was with Brian's girl who listens like, not Taylor Swift, but like white folk girl music. This is great. White folk music. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:51:11 that's crazy. This shit is appealing to everyone in this room right now. Because it's juicy. What he does is he invites you to his world as an artist. Like if he does a song with you,
Starting point is 00:51:19 he's not trying to catch a wave. Yeah. He's staying true to what he does and it's really just that sound, that bounce. Has caught up to him. Right. And he's not trying to catch a wave yeah he's staying true to what he does and it's really just that sound that bounce has caught up to him right yeah and he's just like okay let me invite some of the newer acts in that can catch this bounce yo that's his way crazy on that shit yeah and it's but that's what it is when you got those hard beats like that conway on a like a typical you wouldn't even expect conway and juicy j to do a track i want to hear i want to hear
Starting point is 00:51:44 but that's what he that's what he does he knows his lane he stays up we got action Like a typical. You wouldn't even expect Conway and Juicy J to do a track. I want to hear it. I want to hear it. But that's what he does. He knows his lane and he stays in it. We got action. Hello? Yo. What's up, man? There we go.
Starting point is 00:51:57 A little better, Juicy. How you feeling, man? Man, I'm good, man. Yo. Just chilling with the fam. Why won't you fall off? I love music man I love music You know what I'm saying
Starting point is 00:52:12 It just It just I love it Like every day I'm always working on Some kind of music Even when I'm with my kids Sometimes I'm just
Starting point is 00:52:19 Thinking about music You know I'm always Creating in my head Some kind of way You know But we were just talking about do you think that the current sound and music or the current vibe and music vibe i like that has caught up to where you've been your whole career oh yeah most definitely yeah yeah most
Starting point is 00:52:40 definitely did you find i mean you listen to the flows and the beats and everything. It's like the stuff we used to do back in the day, you know? Right. Yeah. Did you find somebody that was bold enough to want to match up with you in the Versus? I wouldn't. Not yet, man. I'm waiting on them to call me and let me know because, you know, my catalog speaks for itself. So, I mean, I'm ready to battle whomever, man.
Starting point is 00:53:09 You know what i'm saying yeah but i feel like verses would really serve somebody like you that maybe maybe the younger generation is not so aware of all that you've done right like that's what i want for you true true hey make the calls man nah i don't know who to fucking pitch you against. I don't know. That's a tough smoke. It is. Who wants that? Nobody.
Starting point is 00:53:34 Because I saw the names you was naming. It's like you naming the goatee goat niggas. I can see a bum B maybe or something like that representing the whole UGK. Juicy J and Pharrell. See, he get right to the gods. Hey, he get right to the gods. Juicy J. I mean, look, man. I'm a god.
Starting point is 00:53:53 A god versus another god. Hey, I know you a god. But Pharrell is who we going to say first? I mean, look, man. You got to put yourself on a high step, man. You know what I'm saying? I never put myself on a low step. I mean, I love Pharrell, to put yourself on a high step, man. You know what I'm saying? I never put myself on a low step. I love Pharrell, man.
Starting point is 00:54:07 One of my favorite producers, man. So, hey, why not battle? You know, he got a crazy catalog. I got a crazy one, too, now. That's a fact, though. You know what I'm saying? No, that's a big fact. The Conway feature, that was definitely not one I saw happen in that collab.
Starting point is 00:54:21 How did that come about? Man, I just hit him up. I hit him up on Instagram He hit me back And uh Man he cool as fuck man You know what I'm saying We made that happen
Starting point is 00:54:28 And I listen to Griselda You know what I'm saying Like it didn't just start from there I've been listening to their stuff man They stuff hard man Like the boys got some bars man You know Salute to them man
Starting point is 00:54:36 They doing real good And also I gotta say this While I have him on the phone Not just cause he's on the phone Juicy J is one of the nicest Kindest people in hip-hop. So I could see how he would give...
Starting point is 00:54:47 No, he was really cool when he did Nicki's podcast. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's right. He was really cool. Yeah, exactly. So I could see how some of those relationships occur
Starting point is 00:54:55 because Griselda's super cool, too. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, they're cool. Yeah, appreciate it, man. You got another dope album, man. We was just sitting here talking about it. Yeah, that's all we wanted. We just wanted to tell you
Starting point is 00:55:04 you're amazing and great and we love you. Hey, man, thank you, man. We was just sitting here talking about it. Yeah, that's all we wanted to tell you. You're amazing and great, and we love you. Hey, man, thank you, man. You know what I'm saying? Until everybody goes streaming now, John, let's try to hit number one on Billboard. The hustle continues. Juicy J, this is not an ad.
Starting point is 00:55:18 His label didn't tell me to do any of this. We just fuck with Juicy up here, so much so that he's the only man I'll refer to as Juicy. Hey, Juicy, thank you, man. We love you. Hey, man. I love y'all too, man. Thank y'all, man.
Starting point is 00:55:34 I appreciate y'all reaching out, man. Hey, and when you come to New York, you got to come fuck with us. Absolutely. Yes, sir, man. For sure, man. Let's get it. My guy. All right. You want to hear this Conway verse?
Starting point is 00:55:43 Yeah, please. Please. I want to hear it. Get your shine on. Get your shine on. Get your shine on. Alright. You wanna hear this Callaway verse? Yeah please, please I wanna hear it. Until you die, we ain't gon' quit Catch me ridin' with my guy That up his fire, he gon' hit Pour that fire up in my styrofoam I'm higher than a bitch I know I'm gon' get mines I gon' keep grindin' when I'm rich Had to run it up and buy me a few bricks
Starting point is 00:56:12 I rock design until my kicks Real pistol, nigga Mines is on my hip I'm the machine See all the pressure I'm applyin' in this bitch I know the movers and the dealers I know goons and I know killers I know you is not no killer
Starting point is 00:56:24 That's your bitch. You should get her. She keep choosing. I'm going to hit her. She keep looking at my Jews. She know I'm richer. Why you dudes is posting pictures? I'm posted with the gang.
Starting point is 00:56:32 Yeah, I'm posted with the... I didn't know I needed to hear that. What's wrong with him? What's his attitude about? What's his problem? He woke up on the wrong side of the bed. He got a couple dope Logic records on here. On Juicy's album?
Starting point is 00:56:54 Yeah. That 1995 beat is crazy. You know what it is? Juicy is one of the gentlemen that if he calls you, you deliver. Yeah, yeah. It don't matter what his status is to the casual fan in the public.
Starting point is 00:57:08 Niggas that are in hip-hop, you delivering them when Juicy J calls you. Logic included. That 1995 beat is perfect for Logic when we like to hear him. Soulful trap shit. It was good.
Starting point is 00:57:22 What I was doing when Bands was out? It's one of the greatest moments of my life, what I was doing when bands was out. That was a huge one. Oh, it took the quietest of girls and made them heifers. Oh, you little heifers love this tune. It was definitely a heifers tune. What?
Starting point is 00:57:40 That was a heifers anthem. Hey, the heifers tune is a Joe tune. That was a heifers anthem. I'm throwing that on. Yeah, for sure. I didn't have no anthem. Hey, the Heffa's tune is a Joe tune. That was the Heffa's anthem. I'm throwing that on. Yeah, for sure. I didn't have no bands. Yeah, they were dancing. But they was dancing.
Starting point is 00:57:50 I was like, all right, you don't need bands. But I'll sing along. And I feel like Juicy J was what we say about 2 Chainz, where the people that love lyricists still fuck with them and have them in that high tier. And then people that just like party music have him high. That's another hook that one of us in this room should have come up with. Bands will make her dance?
Starting point is 00:58:11 Yo, I think bands will make her dance. I think bands will make her dance. She's sitting down now. But if I pull these bands out, she's going to start dancing. She will gyrate. It's a simple thing. I don't know why we don't think of these choruses. I don't.
Starting point is 00:58:24 He got a record with J-Rock. That's crazy. This album's really dope. Really dope. Shout out to the legend. I wish promoting albums was back. I didn't know it was coming out until it came out. I was like, oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:58:37 Juicy, huh? And then I couldn't. Certain albums, they take a while to come up on Apple. So I was like, let me put on Juicy. Shoot, this is sounding like, man. Smacked your head over. Oh, man. Lit something up.
Starting point is 00:58:49 Poured a drink. Oh, man. That was a vibe you didn't invite me to. Love when my friends catch a vibe and I'm home. It was an accident vibe. It's the best vibe. The accident vibe is the best vibe. It's the best vibe.
Starting point is 00:59:00 When you ain't mean the vibe, you're just like, look at me in a vibe. Who let the vibe in here? It's here now. I just opened the window and the vibe came in. I cracked the door mean the vibe. You're just like, look at me in a vibe. Who let the vibe in here? Let's hear it now. I just opened the window and the vibe came in. I cracked the door and the vibe got in here? That's the fact.
Starting point is 00:59:10 That's how it go. Yeah, you ever try to capture the vibe on Insta story or whatever and it's just not. Nah, it doesn't hit. Nah,
Starting point is 00:59:17 I'm deleting this. Nah, it's the worst when you post it, wake up the next morning like, oh, that's not a vibe. I swore this was me
Starting point is 00:59:25 being this was a vibe you had to be there yeah i was vibing um shout out to juicy jay uh friend of the show we love and fuck with him uh the you guys told me that jim jones dropped the deluxe and i feel like had i known about that sooner it would have made my friday morning a lot better uh huge jim You got a nice ride coming into the city. Starting point is 00:59:49 I wish they wouldn't have called it Jim Deluxe. New Jims? Yeah I did my Thanksgiving clean up to the Jim Deluxe. It's a whole album. Yeah I was going to say
Starting point is 00:59:54 it's what 15? 15 new records? There's that feature I like from that guy I don't know Mark Skabolia. He's big in Russia. Is he?
Starting point is 01:00:05 I don't know. I don't know. That one's dope. Well, yeah, it's a whole new album. You got two joints. He killed this feature on the last Jim album. Yeah, and he kills this one, too. Mano is here.
Starting point is 01:00:15 Dave East is here. Jim always keeps us on New York. Look, Conway is here. Fred the Godson. Those elder niggas don't sleep, huh? Fred the Godson, Axl Leon. Axl Leon killed his shit on his last album too, I think.
Starting point is 01:00:26 I fuck with Axl. He can totally rap. Oh wait, why am I calling Axl Axl Leon? I'm not doing that. You know him. Yeah. No, he's dope. I know Axl.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Axl Dion. Where the fuck did you add a Dion in there, buddy? Axl is super nice. He been super nice. Hell yeah. I think Jaws is on there Two or three times
Starting point is 01:00:46 Two times Niggas hit him With a new last name Rebrand Not Dion That's Leon Not Dion I mean Leon
Starting point is 01:00:55 Whatever it is Oh Fred's on there again Rest in peace Fred I miss you so much man I miss you so much That is fucked up That is fucked up That we lost Fred
Starting point is 01:01:04 To COVID I think about that a lot As I think of me Getting over COVID Cause I understand I miss you so much. That is fucked up. That is fucked up that we lost Fred to COVID. I think about that a lot as I think of me getting over COVID because I understand how it was difficult for some people. But that one night I was scared. That first night I was scared and I didn't know if I was going to wake up. I did think to myself, yo, fam, if I don't wake up, I'm going to be super mad that this is what did it. So I feel like that about if niggas knew that this was going to be a killer this way,
Starting point is 01:01:28 like, I feel like Fred would have went and hid in a bunker somewhere. Yeah. Yeah, especially with the chest problem. With asthma or whatever. I miss you, Fred. Shout out to Fred fans. Rest in peace. Shout out to everybody that loves Fred.
Starting point is 01:01:41 Boy, do I miss all the rappers we've lost. I do. Yeah, so Jim's album. I haven't heard it yet because I didn't know it was out. It's great. But I'm hype about this. It's nice. It's really great.
Starting point is 01:01:50 It's the Harlem in me. It's a good. There you go. It is. It's the Harlem in me. It's the Harlem in me, Rory. We can tie this back to Harlem real quick. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:56 I'm from Harlem, y'all. Yeah. Okay. That's true. And Queens. Okay. And Jersey. And Jersey.
Starting point is 01:02:01 And Jersey. And South Carolina. And South Carolina, yeah. All over the place. I'm diverse. You're a hoe. We're in birthplace, hoe. Yeah, but mall claims more than...
Starting point is 01:02:14 Where are we from? We claims Harlem. Uptown is the Bronx and Manhattan. Above Central Park. The Bronx and Harlem. No hoe. No, I'm not from there. Yes, you are.
Starting point is 01:02:24 That's north of Houston. No hoe existed before. Oh, wait. No, no, no, no, no, no. Then I'm not talking. No ha, I not from Noho. Yes, you are. That's north of Houston. Noho existed before. Oh, wait. No, no, no, no, no. Then I'm not talking. Noha, I think they call it. Then what's the new
Starting point is 01:02:29 Harlem name? Yeah, come on. You know the new Harlem name. Give it to me. They came up with a cute The white people Harlem name.
Starting point is 01:02:34 Nobro. Sobro. Northern Manhattan. Sobro. They tried to gentrify the names. You're from Hamilton Heights.
Starting point is 01:02:41 They tried to call Harlem Noma. Hamilton Heights. Noma. Turtle Bay. There's to call Harlem Noma. Hamilton Heights. Noma. Noma, yes. Turtle Bay. There's some type of weird band. This is Lenox Avenue.
Starting point is 01:02:50 I know where the fuck I'm at. You're telling me this is fucking Noma? This is Lenox Avenue. Noma is hilarious. Harlem niggas get mad when I say they're from Noma. They're not. I still think So Bro is still the funniest one of all time. Definitely.

Starting point is 01:03:07 Yeah Give me the last time You said something to a dude That made him wanna hurt you That made him wanna hurt me? Yeah like When I told a Harlem dude That he was from
Starting point is 01:03:16 No bro Whatever it was I was playing around But he wanted to really hurt me I think I think I called A Dominican Puerto Rican That'll cause some issues
Starting point is 01:03:27 No that's like a real fight That'll cause some issues E that's why I'm trying to apologize To you last week Yeah I know That's like a real thing Oh wait you called Erickson

Starting point is 01:03:46 Parks and Rory tell me it's fire. I'm going to listen to it as soon as this podcast is over. El Capo. Jim, what up? What you call Jim? I don't have my phone at home. Just call everybody. Yeah, just call everybody at home.
Starting point is 01:03:55 I'm talking to the podcast. I like it. Can you get Bad Bunny's number ready? I don't think I have it, but you know. It's not playa. It's playa. Excuse me? That nigga scared me. Playa. It's not playa it's playa that nigga scared playa it's not playa yo yo gangster what's up same shit different toilet how you feeling
Starting point is 01:04:16 feeling pretty good i can't complain life is good i'm live on air so don't say anything that would incriminate either one of us oh Oh, you're right. You're right. My guy. My guy. Yo. Yo, you snuck a fucking album out on me. Yeah, get a little deluxe. It wasn't you. It was just, you know, it was some records that we didn't get to put out.
Starting point is 01:04:35 Man, this is an album. Nah, fam. Nah. This is an album. This is an album, dog. Nah, don't do that. That's the deluxe. It was some records that me and Arsonist,
Starting point is 01:04:47 we didn't get to put on the other album with some joints we finished up. We put like five new records, six new records on it. It was Christmas season, holiday season. So, you know, it's hustle time, man. You got to get your kids them gifts. I figured I'd give Hustle some hustle music. There's no lit music on that record at all.
Starting point is 01:05:01 You know what I mean? So it's in a quiet taste is what I like to call it and shit like that, you know what I mean? But I think it a quiet taste is what I like to call it and shit like that. You know what I mean? But I think it's pretty dope. I need to know when shit like this is coming out, though, man. Like, I just found out an hour ago. I'm shocked.
Starting point is 01:05:12 So let me not surprise you anymore. So I have a Harry Ford album coming out for Christmas on December 18th. Awesome. So. And then after that, I'm going to go Valentine's Day with Scram Jones. Then I got three more After that But I'm gonna give you Those first three lineups
Starting point is 01:05:28 And shit like that That Harry Frost shit That excites me That excites me For Christmas This is lit now Yeah Hey do you know
Starting point is 01:05:35 I'm wondering Am I hearing Jim Getting in with some Of this hit boy action That's happening Yeah I can see Jim That can work for sure Jim you fuck with hit boy
Starting point is 01:05:43 I smoke Yeah I smoke some hit boy shit I got a Young Bird A a Hit-Maker album too also that's completely done. We got like 12 records. So I don't want to say that's on the list because that's more towards the summertime. We're going to let that ride in June. But I'm fully equipped. Hit-Boy, I can't wait to tap dance on his shit. You dig?
Starting point is 01:05:58 But I'll tell you what. What? This El Capo right here, I hope niggas is listening because I'm really saying a lot of shit that might be going over a lot of people's heads and shit like that. So for me, this is one of those. They're probably not going to get half the shit I was saying. But you know it's all good like that. Yeah, I can't wait.
Starting point is 01:06:14 The weekend, we got to take this album in. Jim, I just want to honestly, I just want to come to Harlem and sit on a stoop with you. I just want to hang out one day. Well, you want to set that up. Well, you want to set that up. Well, you want to set that up. You know, we have a dance studio up here for the kids. We'll be an after-school program for the kids. We'll be teaching choreography and stuff like that.
Starting point is 01:06:32 So, you know, y'all can actually come up here and do the whole podcast in the dance studio if you want to. I could lock it down and you can go and y'all can set up and shit like that. And we could really do a whole day at Harlem. Damn, I'm from Harlem. That would be awesome. Yeah, 100%. That's nothing. That that's our spot that's our real estate it's his family this is chrissy's brother who does that for the kids and we fully endorse and support him and help him out so we got that's the interest in the spot but it's all for the kids our go hard dance studio
Starting point is 01:06:59 is right on it's 2307 adam clayton boulevard right in harlem so you got some kids and you're looking for some after-school programs you want some kids And you're looking for Some after school programs And you want your kids That want to dance And stuff like that Well bring them on in Because we do All type of dances
Starting point is 01:07:10 From African to hip hop To you know That whole type of stuff You know what I mean That's dope While I have you I have to tell you That you
Starting point is 01:07:19 That you and French shit As a native New Yorker Touched my soul That was important That was important. That was important. That was huge. I won't really get into why it was huge, but it was great. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:07:33 It was huge for me. Two shouts to French, man. For those who don't know, we had a couple of discrepancies throughout the years and things like that. Maybe past 10 years and stuff like that, we haven't been seeing eye to eye. Above all it was it was great for the culture. Through the madness of it nobody was critically injured anything like that so at this point you know it was put our best foot forward we getting we grown men there you know what I mean. Shout out to the French. We got some more things in store too but it was dope that night we shut down the bridge in Harlem and the Bronx on 145th Street Bridge.
Starting point is 01:08:08 I mean, that was awkward big. I ain't never seen that one done before. So, shout out to the people. Nobody was out there tripping. You know what I mean? Like, you know, we got one off. We wasn't trying to hold up no traffic and truck up any routes or anything. But for the split second, it was a real lovely thing.
Starting point is 01:08:22 I mean, I think that it won't be duplicated in probably the time we alive. I mean, so shout out to French, man. Shout out to everybody from the Bronx. Shout out to everybody at Bad Boy. Shout out to Diddy. Shout out to Revolve for giving me the weather show, man. I appreciate y'all over there on that side. Yes, yes, yes. New Revolve show. Shout out to the Rock Nation also, you heard?
Starting point is 01:08:39 Shout out to the Rock Nation people. Jim, do you subscribe to niggas calling Harlem, what we saying, Nobra? Noma. Noma. North Manhattan. They try to run that, but to the rock nation people jim jill do you subscribe to niggas to niggas calling harlem um what we said no bro noma noma north manhattan they tried to run that but they're on noma no ho or whatever the shit they're trying to turn it into i mean you know it's um you know is this they're gentrifying the whole harlem and we can't talk about it all the time it might be 11 blocks left that's not gentrified and things like that. So we're trying to put a different spin on it. Historically and culturally,
Starting point is 01:09:08 when you think of Harlem, we think about the Renaissance, but people that's not our complexion think of Harlem and they always think about the negative. And I guess they're trying to paint a different picture
Starting point is 01:09:18 and it's always going to be Harlem no matter what. We still set every trend. This is the place where you got to come to if you want style like this Vince from cab Calloway and then things like that and I do appreciate them fixing about my ghetto and things like that Cuz it don't ain't nothing like a facelift, but they definitely didn't include our people
Starting point is 01:09:37 More inside of this gentrification instead of charter move us out as much as they try to do now That's well said you know, that's a word. That's well said. Yeah, no, that's a word. That's a word. Well, listen, congrats on the album. We buying all of this shit. You already know how we give it up. Thank you very much, man. Shout out to Heat Makers.
Starting point is 01:09:53 Shout out to Heat Makers for producing the dope project. I love my dude Awesomeness. I miss our love in hip-hop scenes, man. I do. Oh, man. So get together and cook it. Well, shit, hopefully they come back. That was a nice bag. bag is always a nice bag so
Starting point is 01:10:07 you know we see what happened with Kofi did you already know the body maybe maybe we need to put your own show maybe maybe they got it back for just me you know you know that we need to get to we'll get together and kick it about all that man I appreciate you we love you Jim, Jim. You're in now. We give it up. And congratulations on that. Wait a moment. My man Rory in there? I'm right here, bro. How you doing? My man Rory. I snuck right on in.
Starting point is 01:10:33 That was funny. That's fucking hilarious. That's a funny shit. I appreciate you. I appreciate you, man. Thank you very much, man. I'm here, though. Hit me up, man.
Starting point is 01:10:41 I really want you to do a virtual session to I want you to give you a little We could do a virtual session. I want you to hit Harry for our album But I'm gonna see that you're really hit what's going on. I mean we could do that from the conference I hope nobody got a full one thousand percent. Yeah, so you see your wife my regards to man. I Appreciate you man. Anybody like was happy Thanksgiving to anybody in the sand, man. I see y'all soon Body yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yadda yyaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy-yaddy. That's your shit? Gotta keep it balanced.
Starting point is 01:11:10 I think Yachty did put out new music. He did. I didn't hear it, but... Yachty? Did he? Yeah. I think, like, The Boat 3.5 or something. Hey, my brother from Another Mother. Is that your brother from Another Mother?
Starting point is 01:11:21 Lil Boat? Yes. I can see the resemblance. Yeah, that's my brother. Yeah, Lil Boat? Yes. I can see the resemblance. Yeah, that's my brother. All right. Yeah, Lil Boat 3.5. Congratulations to Lil Yachty on a new album. Wait, you put out an album?
Starting point is 01:11:31 Yeah. Yeah. Or maybe it's a- No, no, no, no. This is a deluxe. Oh, yeah, it is. Yeah, this is a deluxe of Lil Boat 3.5. Boat came out. Boat came out, and Meg crashed the boat on 42.
Starting point is 01:11:42 You remember that? Huh? Huh? Exposed you. Exposed you. It is funny when people try to expose you for something. You're like, all right, so. Like, fam, I did crash. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:54 Yeah, I was drinking 1942. I was twisted. Driving a boat. Throwing it to our Bad Bunny analyst. Bad Bunny's the man. Parks Bunny. Somebody on Twitter told me now that he's retiring, Parks is sad bunny.
Starting point is 01:12:10 He's not retiring, though. This is like a concept album. Yeah, he's getting rid of that category. Parks knows all about fucking Bad Bunny. All right, so it went over my head. Wait, we didn't get any of that stuff? No, we didn't. Oh.
Starting point is 01:12:21 We're here. He just needed the times. Got it, got it, got it. Oh, okay. Yeah, Bad Bunny, but a new album. He did a teaser saying that he was going to retire, but it's a concept album about being on tour in 2023 or some crazy shit.
Starting point is 01:12:33 I don't fully understand exactly where he's going, but it's a really good album. It's more dark. It's more emo. I've only listened to it twice, but I really enjoy it. But he has two platinum albums this year enjoy it but he has two platinum albums this year and if he has three platinum albums
Starting point is 01:12:48 in one year I would imagine this one's probably gonna go platinum yeah that's insane this goes back to what I said a few weeks ago having a Latin artist
Starting point is 01:12:56 in a streaming era is almost a cheat code yeah is he gay? no is he bisexual? I don't know about that but he has a girlfriend
Starting point is 01:13:04 or did have a girlfriend I don't know if they but he has a he has a girlfriend or did have a i don't know if they're still together fiance because i want to add that that to what you're saying like being fluid man you know that a latin artist in the streaming era is is crazy i'm looking at the uh the wiki for his his last album and i don't know how there's a parentheses that says latin so i don't know if this changed anything but the one that came out in March is 19 times platinum. Yeah. Jesus Christ. And I don't know if it says Latin in parenthesis
Starting point is 01:13:31 so I don't know if they have a different measuring stick. Maybe that means worldwide. I don't know but either way. How many streams do you need to go 19 times platinum? A lot. A trillion? Yeah. Like I said I don't know if there's a different designation for the Latin Platinum Award, but that's still impressive no matter what.
Starting point is 01:13:51 And he had an album with J Balvin, right? That was last year, though. But he had a B-Sides album that came out in the summertime, too, which is also Platinum. Yeah, I mean, I don't understand what he's saying, but music is feeling. That's fire. And his music is really dope, though. He does make good music. Yeah, his music is dope. Parks, is fire. And his music is really dope, though. He does make good music. Yeah, his music is dope.
Starting point is 01:14:06 Parks, you feel like he bit the St. John cover? It might be the same artist. It could be. If it is, shout out to Brando for doing the Bad Bunny. Bad Bunny is like bands. He makes them dance. Yeah, for sure. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:14:20 That's what I got. And that thing he did when he was driving through the city, different boroughs, performing, that was like, that's some legendary shit. Yeah. You know what I mean? But is he from Harlem too? Did J. Cole walk to SOBs? Probably.
Starting point is 01:14:32 Probably. I can see that. No, he didn't. Remember? That's a J. Cole thing. And they had a million people following him to SOBs. Yeah. Thinking it's the 200 cap.
Starting point is 01:14:43 Yeah. Y'all are not getting it. J. Cole, you can't do a pop-up. That's dope that he still does shit like that. I like when artists know that they're bigger than that. No, he's not still doing that. He's not going to do that today.
Starting point is 01:14:56 But I can see him doing that. Well, no, he did that Dollar and a Dream tour well into his fame. Like, J., he does shit like that. I think that shit is cool. Yeah. Remember when Hove took the train to the Barclays Center? Two stops.
Starting point is 01:15:07 Stole that from Cole. I mean, it's a significant two stops, though. It's not like a Manhattan two stops. I feel like he would tell us, too. Yo, Cole came up with a great idea. Like, he would let us in on that one. That train shit was nuts. It was.
Starting point is 01:15:23 We turned everything into a New York conversation. That was a North Carolina conversation we were having. It started because Bad Bunny did throw a concert through all the boroughs in New York. I was just talking about that. That was pretty dope. Yeah, but the album's great. I can't wait to listen to it more.
Starting point is 01:15:39 I still listen to the last two. So, last three, really. Shout out to Bad Bunny. What a run, though. What a run. If he has three platinum albums in the U what a run though what a run if he has three platinum albums in the u.s crazy he definitely he's the latin dmx he definitely will bro bad money is not the latin dmx i will not let you let let you talk about the dog man like that all right
Starting point is 01:15:56 don't say nothing oh let's leave him out there x is outside we're gonna learn there's a few niggas you just skip skip the joke the joke ain't even worth it yeah X is on that list listen I'm here to shake the table just a tad bit man
Starting point is 01:16:14 shake that motherfucker you ready you ready is Kevin Hart funny alright were we done with music there was a couple
Starting point is 01:16:23 static select static select his album came out, which is really good. Static. St. John put out another record with Kanye. Currency and Fraud put out another project. That Currency shit sounds crazy.
Starting point is 01:16:34 That Currency shit sounds crazy. I might have to play Currency Sleeper today. Currency's fire, man. And so is Fraud. Shout out to them. I like Currency. Al Camino and Svesh put out an album. Flea Lord put out an album
Starting point is 01:16:45 Mad Albums came out with that Rory shit it was a good week for music yeah man Al Camino and 38 Spesh yep Rory get off the shelf
Starting point is 01:16:55 man put that shit out there's a lot of music that came out from a lot of people I like put it out I gotta wait cause of COVID man
Starting point is 01:17:01 no man you got fire on there man I can't shoot my rollout cause of COVID Rory actually has good music on his album. He's going to be so sad if people don't hear it. No, the people are going to hear it. I'm pausing because for my rollout, I have to shoot a bunch of shit,
Starting point is 01:17:13 and I can't shoot it in all these locations because of fucking COVID. That's why I was saying this COVID shit has been annoying me work-wise. It's pausing everything that I had planned. Shooting Atlanta and now Houston. I can't. It has to be New York. Okay. I didn't get banned from Atlanta.
Starting point is 01:17:28 I thought that was mall. No, I thought your fiance might have banned you from Atlanta. She banned me from anywhere but my house. I'm not even supposed to be here. You can't go there. You can Zoom. She was so happy when Joe got going, oh, finally, you guys can just go back to Zoom.
Starting point is 01:17:44 You're being engaged and explaining the work trip down to the A? Down to the A. To the A. It's got to make this quick run. Yeah, yeah, quick run. It's always a quick run. Quick run. And then he finds himself.
Starting point is 01:17:56 Why your phone always blow up that night? You know, why is it as men, anytime we want to go do something, we have to pretend like we don't want to do it? Like, ugh, I have to go to Houston. Like, oh, yo, I'm so tired. I don't even want to do this. I wish Cam could just go by himself. I'll probably just be in my hotel room the whole time.
Starting point is 01:18:14 Like, ugh, we're back on the road with the podcast, and we're doing the Florida run. Oh, it's so hot down there. I hate my Florida. Oh, yo, that Florida run. Oh, yo, Florida run. Oh, I hate Miami. Another, you're going to Florida. You're going to Florida. Oh, I got Florida to run. Oh, I hate Miami. Another week in LA. Fuck.
Starting point is 01:18:28 Another week in California. Oh, all my friends are out there. There's so much work to do. There's so much traffic in Houston right now. I can never enjoy myself when I'm there. When I'm there. When I'm there. Oh my God. Oh, that's pretty funny.
Starting point is 01:18:50 All right. Great week of music. Are we done with music? Are we done with music? Yeah, if we missed you guys and you put something out, sorry. We'll talk about it. That's the best thing about being single. You can express excitement now.
Starting point is 01:19:00 If my man called with a fun idea, I could scream at home. Oh, yes. Let's go. When you're idea, I could scream at home. Oh, yes! When you're single, you can openly enjoy yourself. You can openly be happy. When you're single, you can extend the trip without issues. I want to stay another day. Just think about that theory.
Starting point is 01:19:18 I'm enjoying myself here. Maybe I'll stay another day. Oh, please. That's a crisis. You want to stay another day. Oh, please. You guys are single. That's a crisis. That's a woman's brain. And it's like, wait. You want to stay another day? And you're enjoying yourself? Why are you enjoying yourself?
Starting point is 01:19:30 I'm not there. Because of the heifers. How could you be? Because of the heifers. There's mad heifers out here. And they love me. That's the problem. When you're in a relationship and you find out the heifers love you, it's like, ah.
Starting point is 01:19:41 Won't dump her, but. They laugh at my jokes. They compliment me. They talk to me. I can see how the heifers love you it's like ah won't dump her but they laugh at my jokes they compliment me they talk to me I can see how the heifers they listen I can see how the heifers make you cheat like
Starting point is 01:19:50 before you actually decided to cheat cause all the reasons Rory just said like the heifers make you feel so good you go home with like some shit
Starting point is 01:19:57 you go home with an attitude like you'll never make the bed Rem has got a gun pointed at my head directly while you guys are speaking
Starting point is 01:20:04 I'm sure Rem know you got the heifers wait do women think Never make the bed. Rem has got a gun pointed at my head directly while you guys are speaking. Yeah, man. Rem know you got the heffas. Do women think that they're the only person that likes this guy? Yes. They think once they start liking you, that means everyone can't like you anymore. Oh, hold up. Now that we fell into that.
Starting point is 01:20:18 All the qualities that... T.I. says something like this. He said, no woman wants a man that other women don't want. And I think they killed him for it. Oh, he was wrong because some women do want a man that nobody wants, but that's not the majority.
Starting point is 01:20:30 Yeah, it's definitely not the majority. Chicks like a Nick. Man, I'm not doing this with chicks. No, they just get surprised when all the qualities that they loved about you, other women still happen to like. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:42 You're not that, your taste isn't that dope or that eclectic that you just like my qualities and no one else does. They think you was only funny to bag them. No, bitch, I'm funny.
Starting point is 01:20:52 And people like it. Like, have you ever told a joke to the heifer and she laughed and you went home to try to use the joke on your girl and she don't laugh
Starting point is 01:21:00 and you're like, this is my fucking point. You just don't get it. It goes over your head every time. No, they get it. They just don't think you funny. You're like, this is my fucking point. You just don't get it. It goes over your head every time. No, they get it. They just don't think you're funny. You repeated the joke on wifey? Well, it worked.
Starting point is 01:21:11 You're a bald man. It worked. Tell me about the time where you confided in the heifer about all the strife you were going through at home. That's a dangerous game. That's over the line. I know, but you had to find that out somehow. So tell me about the time that you found out that that was wrong
Starting point is 01:21:25 and you shouldn't have been doing that. At a very young age. Because all of us did that. Everybody did it. At the strip club most of the times. At the strip club? You're sitting in the stripper sitting down,
Starting point is 01:21:33 you're having a conversation and she's dancing. The therapist stripper. Yeah, the therapist stripper is underrated. You need the therapist stripper. Yeah, I think I found that
Starting point is 01:21:40 on my first many relationships that I found out that was a thing. The therapist stripper. Yeah, you know her. She's a therapist. You gotta pay her for the therapy. You looked relationships. The therapist stripper. Yeah, you know her. She's a therapist. You got to pay her for the therapy.
Starting point is 01:21:47 You looked out. I was feeling down. Before you sat here, I was fucked up a little bit. Thank you. Chick with his ass. You just pay a therapist, what, like 80 bucks an hour. You just get the conversation. You pay a stripper, you get a naked girl and a shoulder rub and a listener.
Starting point is 01:22:05 That's an investment. That's just smart business. I get breakfast at the diner after if you wait long enough for her to count out. Yeah. You know how it goes, Joe. None of us did end up beating a one-armed chick, right? No. Well, let me speak for myself. No.
Starting point is 01:22:17 I'm not speaking for every gentleman in this room. I don't know what y'all be doubling back to. What's the longest you waited outside of a strip club when it closed for her to get out? I woke up and the dude that was sweeping the street told me to move the car. Spent the longest you waited outside of a strip club when it closed for her to get out? I woke up in the dude that was sweeping the street. Told me to move the car. Spent the night in the
Starting point is 01:22:28 parking lot. The street sweeper knocked on the door. He's like, yo, fam, you got to move. We trying to clean up. Bitch text me from home like, yo, you asleep?
Starting point is 01:22:36 Didn't want to wake you. Fam, fam, fam, fam, fam. I'm in the parking lot naked. What the fuck is wrong with you? You was butt ass in the car waiting for you
Starting point is 01:22:46 yeah I thought I had action coming in the passenger seat too you got your license right you were gonna give her some Rodeo oh man oh my god
Starting point is 01:22:55 you know the worst part about that we sharing too much now we gotta turn this volume down the worst part about that is when she come out with friends now the friends see
Starting point is 01:23:03 you've been sitting there for three hours oh yeah you a must you gotta drop her friend off it's along the way The worst part about that is when she come out with friends. Now, the friends see you've been sitting there for three hours. Oh, yeah. You a mutt. You got to drop her friend off. It's along the way. It's the exit before mine.
Starting point is 01:23:11 It's never. It's never. It's on the other side of town. We're not even going anywhere. She lives by Van Cortlandt Park. You're going to Staten Island. Can you drop my friend off? All right, listen, man. Kevin Hart.
Starting point is 01:23:22 Yeah. What's up with Kevin? Kevin Hart turned the chatty house into a frenzy by showing up and replying to some of the negative criticism that he's received on his latest stand-up on Netflix. What's it called? I Don't Give a Fuck. Zero fucks given. He gives mad fucks. Well, he gave a lot of fucks as the rollout.
Starting point is 01:23:40 But you as the king, as the chatty king. Chatty king. Did he check in with you before he went on the block? The crazy part is no Rory. Wow. Can you believe it? Well that's why
Starting point is 01:23:49 I got his chain snatched. Well you guys said that he owns the block. Now I got to put his face in the sand. Some would say he was an investor right? Yeah from my understanding
Starting point is 01:23:57 I don't think that's a fact. Don't do that. I'm joking. Do you think he's a muscle bound man? What if Kevin Hart gave me the beats? It could happen.
Starting point is 01:24:08 Niggas in L.A. can't do nothing but work out. Y'all be up mad early with your trainer. Losers. That is true. Look at you berating people. Nigga, why don't you sleep late for a change? See, I like this type of Kevin. I like that caption.
Starting point is 01:24:23 This is what it's supposed to be. Kevin Hart says, Zero fucks given, relax. Comedic rock. This is what it's supposed to be. Don't make it too... Kevin Hart says, Zero fucks given. Relax. Comedic rock star shit. Go watch Zero Fucks Given now on Netflix. Netflix is a joke. Let me make this clear.
Starting point is 01:24:31 This is not an apology. This is common sense. Also, this is why I made this special. This is why. Now go stream that bitch. Let's go. It's comedy, not politics. Let me just tell you, gentlemen.
Starting point is 01:24:40 Keep it right there. Maul, I have a hard time when comedians explain themselves. Yeah, like, come on, man. Like, I have a hard time when comedians explain themselves. Yeah, like, come on, man. I have a hard time with that. I hate when comedians explain themselves. Like, I get it. Kevin Hart is the biggest comedian in the world, biggest comedic actor.
Starting point is 01:24:58 He has relationships with Hollywood, high-powered people in Hollywood. Sponsorships. But Kev can't respond to everything. You can't, and you shouldn't respond to everything. I think he should stop that. Yeah, you gotta... Especially when your shit's called
Starting point is 01:25:11 Zero Fucks Given. Yeah, like you can't give a fuck after you just dropped a special called Zero Fucks Given. Yeah, but I told y'all the marketing for his last few stand-ups and docs and specials has been, yo, I'm giving it to you raw and uncut now.
Starting point is 01:25:27 Unfiltered. I don't even care about it care about this about to be so cutting edge daring like it's been that so when you roll out that way and we don't receive that listen i don't want to go all over the place the topic was on the chatty house is kevin hart funny and kevin hart was in the room i wasn't in the room the entire time but he was basically responding to uh criticism in his own way do you guys think kevin hart is funny and why is that one simple sentence such a room shaker i do think he's funny i just don't think that his stand-ups as of late have been all that funny yeah i think kevin hart is very funny i that his stand-ups as of late have been all that funny. Yeah, I'm taking part in it. I think Kevin Hart is very funny. His stand-ups
Starting point is 01:26:07 as of late have not. That statement, is Kevin Hart funny? Yes, Kevin Hart is funny. 100%. Now, are you going to laugh? Has Kevin Hart been funny lately? Even in his last zero-funk, it was funny moments in it. Overall, was it like a classic stand-up? No, but it was funny moments.
Starting point is 01:26:24 Well, too many extremes. It was funny moments. Was it a classic?up? No, but it was funny moments. Well, too many extremes. It was funny moments. Was it a classic? No. No, but I'm just... Those are two different sides of the fence here. The question is, or the statement was, Kevin Hart isn't funny. They started a room in Clubhouse called Kevin Hart Isn't Funny, or Is Kevin Hart Funny?
Starting point is 01:26:37 But that room wasn't started out of osmosis. It was started because there's a bunch of people that watched the new stand-up and said, what the fuck is this including me now my understanding of the business and what's going on is different so i've been stopped judging kevin hart kevin hart is way too huge pause for me to just keep him in the comedian box like he's a businessman he's an actor he he has transcended absolutely comedy absolutely so i no longer judge him solely as a comedian but if i did nah this is horrible if i'm judging you that way now i get it kevin hart is so big that he's playing the scale game he's playing the volume game like i have that understanding too like kevin hart and his team
Starting point is 01:27:25 i don't think they're writing jokes for me anymore no it's for a wider audience yeah it's for white people i'm not doing that sure it's for white people uh it's for white people okay i don't know what that means but what it means is it's trimmed the fat is trimmed and it's cleaned down so that, like Rory said, a wider audience can accept it and appreciate it. But when we say wider, we're talking about wider, wider. We are already white for sure. And I fight that because there are ways to go for a wider audience. Chris Rock is Chris Rock.
Starting point is 01:28:01 But when I hear Chris Rock is going to be somewhere I know he's about to talk to me and he's huge when Dave is going to be somewhere granted they conduct business very differently but that's going to be a point of mine later too but when Dave is somewhere
Starting point is 01:28:16 I know he's about to talk to me because it's still important to him even pardon me even though he has a white audience so Kev's whole thing is I want to be a successful businessman I don't know I don't know that he's trying to be the best comedian in the world so I don't knock him for it but my point for him is even as a businessman
Starting point is 01:28:36 this type of shit resonates like if it how you move in your business, no matter how successful you are, like, how Dave goes about his business is very different. And I like that. Like, that's attractive to me. Like, he pops up when he needs to pop up. He don't pander. He speaks to people. He goes away. He fucking runs over.
Starting point is 01:29:00 He just doesn't take any check that's thrown his way. I like that. Kev's business is mass. So he's not going about it that way, but that's identifiable. Like, you can recognize that in looking at him. For you to be bad at comedy, not saying he was, because some people think it might have been funny, but for this to be the reaction and your home, something is off there.
Starting point is 01:29:28 It is. And for you to deny that criticism, it would be arrogant. I'm not saying he did that because I wasn't in that room the whole time. But that would be arrogance for you to deny that criticism. That's all I'm saying. And like you said, as a comedian, you shouldn't have to explain your shit. It takes away any point to a shouldn't have to explain your shit as any type of artist honestly it takes away any point
Starting point is 01:29:46 to a joke to have to explain it like that's and the name of your show is called Zero Fucks Given stop giving the fuck yeah but that's marketing
Starting point is 01:29:54 because you do give a fuck yeah well that's you give all the fucks in the world that's what the problem is but that's what has made Kev so successful is that he cares
Starting point is 01:30:02 about everyone's opinion he's trying to cater to so many people listen to legends of comedy richard prye would never apologize he should not be in a clubhouse room explaining his doc or explaining jokes or explaining anything dave would never eddie murphy would never and these are the caliber of people listen they're different people though no fuck that kev is the one that told us i'm looking to break eddie murphy's record he said that yeah he put himself right next to him and that's i didn't i didn't say that okay that has nothing to do my point i said they're different
Starting point is 01:30:35 people they're not yes they're different people i'm not gonna argue i'm not gonna argue that point yes they're different they are different people but i never thought to look at it that way until he said it. Outside of the obvious, they have gone about their careers completely different. The content in which their stand-up is completely different. The content of their movies is completely different. How they play the game is completely different. Like, no, I'm not putting them in any category.
Starting point is 01:30:59 I'm not comparing them. Kev went about his shit one way. Eddie, Dave, the three of them went in their shit different ways all of them true so yeah i'm not going to compare the two and this has nothing to do talent wise that's all subjective as well who can we compare food you can't you can't debate with someone about food like that no fuck your logic bro in our in our culture we have to find someone to compare people to so listen to me Who do we compare Kev to? Who is it alright
Starting point is 01:31:26 for us to compare him to? As far as a comedian? Eddie Murphy would be the comparison as far as them both being huge movie stars and huge brands. That would be the closest
Starting point is 01:31:35 but we've still never seen Nick Kev. And niggas never tried Eddie's comedian tip when the movies were out. Well, he stopped doing stand-up too. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:43 Or at least, no. So why won't Kev? So then why won't Kev? when the movie's out. Well, he stopped doing stand-up too. Yeah. Or at least, no, he stopped doing stand-up. So then why won't Kev? So then why won't Kev? That may be the question. Maybe you aren't, and maybe,
Starting point is 01:31:52 and I want to preface all this because I may have critiqued Kev before and he may have been offended by the critique and he is someone I enjoy and fuck with. So I want to preface this with that. I want to say this. It's important when niggas are sensitive.
Starting point is 01:32:08 You can't say when the first comedian ever sold out a fucking football stadium by themselves, why are you still doing stand-up? You can't ask someone that. Why won't Kev stop doing stand-up? Because he's extremely successful at it.
Starting point is 01:32:22 It makes a lot of money from it. But I think Joe was saying it's not about the money no more. It's about like because now. Accolades. Obviously now you're offended. It's legacy now. It shouldn't be about the money for him.
Starting point is 01:32:34 And on the outside looking in, it is. Right. It's the accolade and the legacy. They're not just stand up though. Even him replying, right? Even him replying. When his stand up though even him replying right even him replying when this stand-up dropped uh-huh when the stand-up dropped i noticed kev on my twitter timeline a lot and i don't be on twitter a lot anymore to notice these things so that stood out to me
Starting point is 01:32:57 that okay you are retweeting a lot of these compliments the day of release from the people that rushed to see this hmm why cool as opposed to maybe promotion everyone does that when they put something out yeah but people also do it when they're trying to stuff commentary to the bottom uh sure but i think everyone does that let's let me retweet as many compliments as i can that was day one we do it with our podcast and push down some of the negative things that are said no i replied to them niggas suck my dick the fuck is you talking about the best podcast in the world that's what so that was day one but every day since then in its release he has been replying to criticism and on clubhouse he says it's marketing it doesn't matter if we're driving the conversation then maybe you'll go back and
Starting point is 01:33:52 watch and watch the special which he has a point to some degree i totally disagree with all that if you're starting at this i don't want to put a special out and have everybody say it's trash oh god and now i'm replying to that and saying hey the conversation is here hopefully you'll go back no nigga nobody wants to see that i don't want to put a pod out and everybody say yo fam y'all trash let me put it this way if we put a pod out that we all felt was good it was good enough to put out on netflix and we start retweeting compliments and then the whole narrative changes to it was trash and i start replying and the conversation gets bigger because i'm replying and it's just a bunch of people
Starting point is 01:34:30 talking about it yes in this day and age that is marketing and promotion the more this day hey well guess what i would call your phone and say nigga stop it oh stop it no i mean what are you doing right now that's your decision that's your decision on how you want to do marketing i don't do marketing that way either but i do know the value of negativity and the value of just getting everyone to talk about it people like to watch car crashes if it's that fucking bad and everyone's shitting on it let me go see how bad this is and i don't think kev put this out and said i don't want anyone to see if that's what you're leaning on if it let me listen i understand your point but if that's what you're leaning on, listen, I understand your point, but if that's what you're leaning on
Starting point is 01:35:05 as the highest grossing comedian in the world, something's wrong. And not only that. That's what I'm saying. When you give that shit that attention of responding to people saying it's not good or it's whack, people that didn't even see it
Starting point is 01:35:19 will start saying it's trash just to get a reaction. Listen, I watch this with a very objective mind. I'll be honest with y'all. As someone who has not enjoyed many of Kev's recent stand-ups and docs, I did like the Netflix doc because it gave us an inside look to some shit. I like that. That wasn't supposed to be funny.
Starting point is 01:35:40 When Kev was supposed to be funny, I enjoyed his Laugh At My Pain tour, the highest grossing tour ever, whatever that was. But I looked it up. That was 2011. Yeah, that was quite a while. It don't feel like that long ago. But that was 2011. So what moments this decade, and this is a fair ask, what moments this decade, the same way I i say about musicians like it may not be about a hit single now it's about a moment what moments has kevin hart given us this decade outside of
Starting point is 01:36:13 that tour like i remember moments from comedians when rory sent me the fucking louis louis ck shit that's not out that he put on his website he killed that shit oh i'm not supposed to say that but guess what the nigga was funny. He smoked that. When Chris Rock did the Open to Oscars, when nobody wanted to open to Oscars, and the whole room was silent, it was a master class, and that moment stuck out to me. Don't do more like that.
Starting point is 01:36:36 When I went to see, I'm sorry, more. When I went to see Dave at Radio City Music Hall not knowing what to expect after not having him on the scene for however many years master class shit I'm looking for that
Starting point is 01:36:49 from Kevin I'm looking for the you know how niggas say that person makes a great single but the albums is eh like that's what I feel like with Kev you can't question his business acumen you can't question his movies you can't question anything that he's done but the funny stuff.
Starting point is 01:37:06 Is he trying to be funny for me? Last shit he put out, I was like, you know what? I personally, as a man with kids that's not married or engaged, this stuff is, I hate all this stuff when he does that. But that's his reality, so I'm not mad at him for doing it. But then I questioned me. And I'm like, like well wait a second i love when bill burr talks about marriage and kids and i love when some of these other comedians talk about their marriage and the kids just because but the angles that kev takes today are so clean yeah well let me that's all that's all i'm saying
Starting point is 01:37:42 of course because he's a fucking, about to be a billionaire, so I'm not derailing this. But you don't think that that helps to get him to this place? Kev has always been a pretty safe and likable and easy pitch as far as comedy.
Starting point is 01:37:59 Like, I've been a Kev fan since before Seriously Funny, that kind of stuff. See, I don't respect this if you're a panderer. So that's, what do you mean? If Kev being since before Seriously Funny that kind of took it to the next level. I don't respect this if you're a panderer. What do you mean? Kev being the panderer? I don't know him to be a panderer, but if he is a panderer,
Starting point is 01:38:14 then I don't care about what you're saying right now. I don't think being a safe comedian makes you a panderer. No, I think pandering makes you a panderer. And I want to draw that line. If he's just a safe comedian and that's who he is... He's not a safe comedian. No, no. Since before he was If he's just a safe comedian and that's who he is. He's been a safe comedian. No, no.
Starting point is 01:38:27 I'm not saying that. Since before he was popular, he was a safe comedian. There's safe comedians that are fun. What's this whole boy, the white dude that had the HBO show?
Starting point is 01:38:34 Super corny, like Christian. Oh, jeez, why am I blanking? I love him. We saw him live together. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:38:41 Look up crashing. Why am I blanking? When we was on tour, we saw him. He's super square and corny, but it's funny. Is he white? Yeah, he, yeah. Look up crashing. Why am I black? When we was on tour, we saw him. He's super square and corny, but it's funny. Is he white? Yeah, he's white. I can't believe I'm black.
Starting point is 01:38:50 Very different. And that's the difference. Pete Holmes. Pete Holmes. I'm sorry, Pete Holmes. But that's the difference. White people can talk to white people, can talk to black people. You can do it.
Starting point is 01:39:01 Black people are judging Kevin Hart away, not because he's not successful or he's not funny to white people. We understand. But for us, the jokes are just not for us anymore. But you know what, though? Deeper than that, Joe, you got to remember, a lot of comedians in the last few years have publicly come out and said that Kevin Hart is not funny. So I think a lot of that has him responding to people saying this now is because for a few years, even his peers have been saying he's not funny. Yeah, I'm 500 million up, man. I'm white my ass with what y'all talking about.
Starting point is 01:39:30 Nobody's going to argue that. Hey, Joe, the pot is trashed. I'm a billionaire. Yeah, right. But they're saying, but it hurts when this is what you love. I think I take pride in wanting to be a dope, a pretty good comedian.
Starting point is 01:39:42 But for the last few years, other comedians have public on radio shows podcasts have been saying he's not funny yeah so i think a lot of that is just a build-up to yeah i think people want to be respected by their peers if they care for the craft that much but quickly to go to your point of bringing up burr chapelle and chris rock i do you think kev and i think kev has gotten introspective before, but have you ever thought Kev has been that type of comedian ever? I'm not going to start comparing him to the people when you say masterclasses and do that. You know what we're talking about.
Starting point is 01:40:13 I don't think Kev has ever been that, so why would I start comparing him now saying, why aren't you doing that? Let me directly respond to that. I think Kev is funny, but he's not that type of funny. Let me reply to that. That's a different type of funny let me reply to that that's a different type of i feel like the geniuses will surprise you like when chris rock did that oscar shit i knew he would kind of address the shit and i knew he would talk to black people but what he did was elevate to a space that we can't get to Dave I know Dave from my experience with Dave it's kind of similar to Kevin Hart fucking soul playing the movies and blah blah blah blah like I
Starting point is 01:40:55 didn't always know Dave to be the genius comedian what happened was he hit a stride where he elevated and stayed there like the geniuses do. So, go ahead. Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, those type of comedians are geniuses. Dave Chappelle. Let me finish. Let me finish. They are geniuses with their intellect on observations of the world. geniuses with their intellect on observations of the world.
Starting point is 01:41:30 Kev is a genius in business and decision-making and branding and comedy, but not the observation that you are talking about with a Chris Rock mind, a Dave Chappelle mind, and a Bill Burr mind. See, I disagree. They're different type of comedic minds. Kev has never been that. He's a genius in his own right, but not that type of genius you're talking about. He was never like a cerebral comic. He's not that type of comedian.
Starting point is 01:41:48 That's true. Damn, all of these comedians, or all the ones that I call genius, it's not that they observe the world so great. It's that they take the real life shit, whether that be their own or the world, and they make it funny. Right. That's too black and white for what comedy is. There's so much of a gray it's the same with music on comics calling someone a lyrical genius and someone that can make great songs i'm so glad it's a different type of genius i'm so glad that you brought that up because that's my
Starting point is 01:42:13 exact example it my the comedians and the musician musicians for me the they parallel in this point they parallel a lot of boys well Well, for me, when the musicians take real life pain and art it. Make something beautiful out of it. And art it in a way, I'm going to always respect that more than the room
Starting point is 01:42:37 full of writers that came up with the hit record. And if you have the ability to do both, then awesome. Then you're Jay-Z. My issue with Kev if you have the ability to do both then awesome then you're jay-z my issue with kev is you have every resource in the universe that's why i asked when this came out about his about his team because even if kev is too rich and too disconnected which i don't know that to be the truth i don't think so i don't know it to be the truth i don can't say that. But if that's the case, I don't know if his writing team should be out of touch with some of us
Starting point is 01:43:10 that want to hear about us. Everyday, regular people. Yeah, that's all like... But see, to me, that goes back to my point of the business genius mind because that's where Kev's mind is at. It's with business.
Starting point is 01:43:24 It's with a much higher plateau and a bigger, larger picture than just a standup. People like Chappelle and Rock, et cetera, their mind I think is always going to be in the root of standup and observing the world. Chris Rock goes through a divorce. I don't think he looks at it as I'm going through a divorce as a millionaire. He knows everyone in the world has probably been near a divorce, going through a divorce as a millionaire, he knows everyone in the world has probably been near a divorce, been through a divorce, may go through a divorce. I'm looking at it as a human because that's how his brain works.
Starting point is 01:43:53 Kev's works as a fucking businessman. His genius is there. Chris Rock's genius is within observation and how it compares to the everyday person. They're different type of geniuses. I can't compare the two because the decision making has been so different. Yeah, man gonna do that because while chris rock would start in everyday people relatable mode in that divorce conversation he's gonna get to y'all i'm a millionaire and this
Starting point is 01:44:15 bitch is trying to divorce me like he's not but in a funny way that we'll laugh at not that'll be the punch line that we laugh at not relate relate to. Chris Rodgers has actually done that. But everything covered. Yeah, I'm sure. But everything covered. All I'm asking is why Kev can't attempt to cover more. I'm going to ask you one. That's my only question. And my question to that is, when do you think Kev has? When he got busted cheating.
Starting point is 01:44:40 You think he covered that completely? I thought that was the funniest that he's been in a little while. I don't know if he's covered it completely. Was that Laugh At My Pain? I think it was well after. It was the one with the big stadium shit. I forgot what that was called. Listen, I've heard him address the cheating stuff.
Starting point is 01:44:57 No, no, no. I think, no, Kev has gotten introspective. I'm not trying to say that Kev's not been introspective. And I loved it. But just not in the way that Rock and Chappelle have their entire careers. That's just who they are as people. Fam, if Dave Chappelle got caught cheating on his wife in a hotel room and was getting bribed by his best friend, yeah, real-life turmoil.
Starting point is 01:45:17 We understand that. Well, I understand how that affected Kev. I get that. But the bit that comes from that. I mean, he did that with the azalea thing on the um the george yes come on one second but it was hilarious cns my thing i don't know that'd be a good comparison though all he did was just say that right all right well how about how about this enough of this talking in circles if i'm a comedian and I put something out, a body of work, another nigga shouldn't
Starting point is 01:45:45 be able to put out a 20 minute YouTube body of work and now we not talk about my shit no more. That shouldn't happen. Well, like I said, people made it cool. People started making it cool to not like Kevin Hart. I think that's what the bigger thing is. I think this conversation is only happening because
Starting point is 01:46:01 we like Kevin Hart. But for a few years, like I said, some of his peers, they've gone publicly and said- Yeah, but them niggas are haters. He's not funny. Well, you can call them that, but they just figure he's not a funny guy. But that comes with being as big a star as Kev is. You're going to get people that feel like, yo, how is he selling out football stadiums? He's not that funny.
Starting point is 01:46:22 How is he doing this? He's not that funny. How does he have 300 million? He's not that funny. Well, you can be popular and that funny How does he have 300 million He's not that funny You can be popular And not funny Yeah you can Exactly
Starting point is 01:46:28 I don't know why people ask that But my thing is As a comedian You have to be able to Just laugh at all that shit Like you can't Take that shit Too serious
Starting point is 01:46:38 And start Having serious conversations And it's like Yo people don't think you funny So what Like But we've seen this With comedians This shit was called Laugh at my pain right It was a beautiful title Right Yeah that was one of his shows conversations and it's like yo people don't think you funny so what like man we've seen this with
Starting point is 01:46:45 this shit was called laugh at my pain right it was a beautiful title right yeah that was one of the shows i think but again i think someone that has a different type of comedic brain i'm not saying which comedic brain is better or worse that's your opinion i think if you give that title richard pryor said to fucking make your pain funny it's not our opinion it's the nigga that raised no no i'm saying who i think would have a more deep dive observation at the title Laugh At My Pain, a Chappelle or a Kevin Hart is all I'm saying. They're different type of comedic brains. Whichever one you like is your business.
Starting point is 01:47:17 But we saw the same shit with Dane Cook. He blew up and every comedian said, he's not funny. He doesn't say anything real on stage. We nothing about him it's all surface shit it's not black people don't know that dane cook well he he sold out madison square garden so i mean no tell us what i'm saying i don't know i'm comparing yeah i'm literally telling you exactly what happened dane cook blew up because he was a silly guy he was a funny guy. He was easily palatable to the rest of the country. And he became the biggest comedian in the world. And then every comedian said, hey, none of this is funny. He's not really saying anything. There's no real observations.
Starting point is 01:47:57 He's just a silly guy and he's funny. And Dane got all the hate in the world. They tried to tear Dane down with every last thing. you have to compare funny man Kevin Hart not businessman not movie star funny man Kevin Hart to the other people who are funny men how does that look not good for Kevin you and that's all I'm saying you shouldn't compare them yeah no I'm gonna compare them but that's my point at some point it has to be about legacy and not business and check different types of legacies even when he joined got in the fucking clubhouse wrong like all right netflix then made this nigga get in here and reply to some of this shit i don't feel like you're not you're not on the app and just happen to be replying to some
Starting point is 01:48:39 shit somebody said hey it might be a good idea for you to get in there and reply to some shit well he has i went right to kevin hart's page i think i don't i don't know so i'm not gonna spread misinformation but i went to his page when he was in the room it said 3 000 followers i was like oh shit kevin hart must have just signed up today i scrolled down he signed up in may and anytime i see that i'm like oh okay got it early, early investor, and you just here to use this shit to meet your quota of whatever your contract says you have to use this shit. Like, it's not genuine to me. Got it. Now, I could be off.
Starting point is 01:49:15 Yeah, that's not fair to put on somebody. That's not fair. It's not fair to put on somebody. That could have been very genuine to him. It's not fair. You're right, Rory. But when I've seen you respond to criticism on every possible outlet that you can. And since this stand up has come out, I'm not looking at the clubhouse move in isolation.
Starting point is 01:49:31 I'm looking at it as, oh, this is another outlet for you to do what you've been doing. And Kevin Hart is too great to do that, even if this was a dud. And I'm not saying it was a dud, but if it was a dud, I'm either coming out to say, yo, fam, it was a dud. I fucked up. We'll'm either coming out to say yo fam was a dud i fucked up we'll get we'll get back at him or i'm never addressing any of this that's me or be the artisan that you are and make a whole bit about it in your next in your next effort yeah yeah that's simple agree there it's true it's true shout out to kevin hartman friend of the show we fuck with him even though that might not sound like we did
Starting point is 01:50:06 but we do yeah of course definitely do and that that clubhouse room was just hilarious as is what was so funny
Starting point is 01:50:14 about that clubhouse thing was that no one was trying to be funny chatty house I mean yeah we said it a lot I think Kev
Starting point is 01:50:21 was trying to be funny no they were all having a dead serious conversation and didn't realize that we were all laughing at them. Every last one that was on that stage, we were laughing at y'all.
Starting point is 01:50:30 Y'all sounded insane. The listeners don't have clues. I got a bunch of texts like, yo, this room is disgusting. Yo, this room is a mess. I'm loving it. I'm not leaving. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:50:40 I was glued. But you didn't have 5,000 people in there. So clearly it's a conversation that, yeah. Shout out to Kev, man. Shout out to the Plastic Cup boys. Shout out to them. Call Spank. Shout out to anybody who's close to a billion.
Starting point is 01:50:54 For real. I just have a thing with sensitive anything. Sensitive comedians, sensitive rappers, sensitive girls. I personally, that's a Joe issue. I have a problem with sensitive anything. You can't expect artists not to be sensitive. Yeah, Joe, but you went through that as an artist. Tell me when.
Starting point is 01:51:13 As a rapper. You responded to a lot of shit you shouldn't have responded to. And that's my thing, Mo. How that's received should be different. Because since the year 2000, I have always ingratiated myself with the people. When there was nothing to talk about, Joe was there talking.
Starting point is 01:51:30 When Joe was getting killed, Joe was there talking. When Joe was on a high, Joe was there talking. It looks different when you're not there at all. Kev don't just pop in a room and just kick it with the people. Kev ain't just hopping on Twitter
Starting point is 01:51:44 to just kick it with the people. Kev ain't just hopping on Twitter To just kick it with the people That's true It's only when there's these releases And some criticism That he pops in So the niggas like me It looks a way But if he was just there
Starting point is 01:51:53 Kicking it Yeah it doesn't look a way I don't think this is a big deal I get what you're saying Today But because he jumped in And he's doing that It's like oh yeah
Starting point is 01:51:59 He's He's feeling the fire He's affected by this He's feeling the fire Some hot water It's affecting him a little bit. And I don't know that to be true. But that's how it seems.
Starting point is 01:52:08 To talk to your fans about criticism. I just don't think. Then these niggas should do it. Which is tough to ask someone about their art to not be defensive about it. But when you walk in on the defense, yeah, maybe you should have just sat this one out. And let me just say. If you want to have a real conversation with your fans? I love that. I hate that Clubhouse, that chatty house, rather,
Starting point is 01:52:28 is becoming like artist rollout-y. Oh, you mean like every other platform? It's going to get more. It's what the labels do when they find out something is hot.
Starting point is 01:52:37 Like, I remember a point in history where the labels were saying, ah, got to start the Reddit ask it. Start a Reddit ask it. And this is ask it. Start a Reddit ask it. And this is beating me down with a Reddit ask it. I've never been on Reddit.
Starting point is 01:52:48 Shout out to my Reddit crew. Hey, I love Reddit now too. That's a great site. But when the industry found out that, oh, wait, you could talk there and it might result to sales somehow, they milked it out. They ruined it like they do everything else. So I just see Clubhouse. A few weeks ago when I seen certain niggas pop up, they was like, fam, you don't talk to niggas.
Starting point is 01:53:09 You're not a talker. I've been here for 20 years. I've never seen you talk. When I seen some of these niggas pop up with their publicists, I'm like, eh, this is not the place for a publicist. This is a place for us to get you. But that's your sensitivity, Joe. I think it's my understanding.
Starting point is 01:53:26 As someone that's been kind of ahead of the curve, I think, on a lot of digital trends and been there first and was really talking with fans before it was trendy to really talk with your fans. And you're on every single one of these apps early. I think when you see other artists, celebrities, whatever it is, get on there too, you feel a way. I know you won't admit that, but I've seen it sometimes. I can just see you feel like, all right, now y'all on this shit too. After y'all killed me for being on this shit,
Starting point is 01:53:55 now what y'all roll out? Rory, you're right. One of my talents, in my opinion, is being able to spot authenticity. So I point it out when I see that, Hey, there might be some other variables here. That's making said person do this,
Starting point is 01:54:11 not to knock it, but like in the Will Smith case, I get angry. Well, we know that Kevin Hart don't affect my buck. Cause he's too big. Fresh Prince thing. No,
Starting point is 01:54:22 not watching a fucking first. I did not. I loved it. I'm not watching that. I'm not watching coming fucking Fresh Prince I did not it was dope I loved it I'm not watching that I'm not watching Coming to America Part 2 sorry Amazon I love y'all
Starting point is 01:54:29 but no I'm not watching that I'm gonna watch it I'll probably watch it but who asked for that I don't think we asked for that 20 years ago that's the only problem with Coming to America
Starting point is 01:54:38 we wanted to know if they really got married man go create something go create a new storyline or a new plot scream man can you get this girl off of here go create a new storyline or a new plot. Screen man, can you get this girl off of here? Go create a new storyline or a new plot or a new something.
Starting point is 01:54:50 Go put your creative juices together and do it. Stop just giving me shit from the 90s or regurgitating shit. But whatever. Shout out to Kevin Hart. Shout out to his whole team. Shout out to everybody who watched that special. And thank you for a really entertaining day on the chatty house. I crashed it.
Starting point is 01:55:06 And to close that conversation, I do think that, yes, authentic rollouts are great. But I can never be mad at superstars getting on whatever is popular to help promote their shit. I just I can't be mad at this point in my life. I can't. I get it. Like, all right, you're trying to promote something. This is where the people are. Go do it.
Starting point is 01:55:22 I don't think it'll be as effective because it's not genuine. But, yeah, I don't sit there and be like, how could they go on where the people are to promote something. This is where the people are. Go do it. I don't think it'll be as effective because it's not genuine. But yeah, I don't sit there and be like, how could they go on where the people are to promote something? But I do. That doesn't bother me. But I do. I don't think it'll be effective when it's not genuine, but I see why they do it. Of course. All right.
Starting point is 01:55:35 And I'm going to point out the difference from when you're trying to draw and when you are the drawer. Sure. You can't say that about a superstar. Yes, I can. They're a draw. There's not a draw on that app. But then you see when Kev gets on there, 3,000 people get on. say that about a superstar. Yes, I can. They're a draw. There's not a draw on that app. But then you see when Kev gets on there, No, no, I'm not talking about the app.
Starting point is 01:55:48 3,000 people get on. Kev is a draw. We know that. No question. But there's a difference in moving like a draw. Like when he did that whole run apologizing about the Oscars. I didn't like that. Of course you didn't.
Starting point is 01:56:01 Know why? Because you would have loved to see him move like the draw that he is. You would have loved to see him put his dick on the table and say fam i apologize for these comments ages ago and if y'all still feel like this then suck my fucking dick i'm doing what i'm doing i don't need y'all for a bag i would have loved that experience yeah but he did 90 more he did 90 more so i mean if your history is not pandering but explaining, it's just not for me. That part. That part.
Starting point is 01:56:28 That part. We all know and understand that Kev is protecting certain relationships. We know that. Because he's got a million of them. He's got a million of them. And that's what I think the problem is, where people feel like you're only saying this because of this, or you're only doing this because of this,
Starting point is 01:56:40 or you won't say this because of this. As a comedian, comedian listen as a man you gotta know when let me not say that because that might be a bad example but as a as a comedian you just as a bad bitch part in the word bitch you better know when the other bad bitch is on her way to the party or what she doing when she get there let me say that she's gonna snap i feel like it's kev's job and i'm leaving this after this, to know that Dave Chappelle is active now. If I'm a comedian, you rappers better know that Drake is active. He's not home rehabbing.
Starting point is 01:57:17 He's home recording in his beautiful, luxurious studio. So you either got to acquiesce to that or acknowledge it and move the fuck out the way you better put something out that at least is on par with the greatest or way to the greatest moves that's what joe thinks dave is active newly active writing every day in cleveland he's married so he ain't got no bitches he's just out there writing shit down if If I'm a comedian, I'm writing for that. I'm telling my team, I'm writing for that. If another pod pop up tomorrow that I feel like it's dropping, like, oh, should they kill it? I'm coming in and telling y'all, yeah.
Starting point is 01:57:54 Hey, let's do this now. Or let's wait till they move. Let's not drop on Thursdays. Let's not drop on a Friday. You know what's even more dangerous about Dave right now? Not only is he saying how active he's going to be, he's inviting every comedian to Ohio to live on his fucking property. And do mushrooms. You do realize when the big artists start bringing in all the producers,
Starting point is 01:58:16 all the artists, just to be around creativity, how much better they get at their craft. Kev, do drugs. Listen, enough of this just tiptoeing around what the real issue is. You and this sober comedy shit got to go. Dave is in Ohio with comedians on mushrooms. And he's talking to rappers. He talked to most deaf in them.
Starting point is 01:58:38 Fam, listen, this is what's happening. Man, where my phone? That's hilarious. You want to try that again? Nigga, as bad enough I got to worry about Drake doing music, now I got to worry about Drake doing music on mushrooms? Come on, man. Come on, you're losing.
Starting point is 01:58:52 You never had to worry about Drake doing music. That was going to be what it was going to be. That wasn't any of your concern. Your needle wasn't going to shift If Aubrey was around or not Maybe you would have lost some bitches That would have been about it Yeah the needle was right Where it was going to be
Starting point is 01:59:11 Don't worry about it Oh man You guys You guys boy It's just funny That all these years now You really think about it And you know
Starting point is 01:59:19 As kids Mario Brothers Were just teaching us To do shrooms That's all True Yeah You get bigger
Starting point is 01:59:24 When you take the shrooms You know what I mean Like just take the shrooms man Yeah That's us to do shrooms. That's all. True. Yeah. You get bigger when you take the shrooms. You know what I mean? Like, just take the shrooms, man. Yeah. That's all. I love shrooms. I used to get scared.
Starting point is 01:59:32 I used to get scared at the dungeon theme music. Do-do-do-do-do-do. Do-do-do-do-do-do. Look what Joe's doing. Don't ever talk to me about fibers that scared you. I was a child. So? I wasn't a tough child, about fiber if that scared you. I was a child.
Starting point is 01:59:45 So? I wasn't a tough child, Rory. Oh, okay. Yeah, I wasn't a tough child. What did I get tough? Damn, never. It's okay, man. Being tough looks annoying and painful.
Starting point is 02:00:04 I was real happy that year came where it was cool to admit that you weren't tough. I might have even started that. I'm taking credit. The snake on the eyeball after the Ray Kwan incident. I was like, oh, man. I felt like Joe did his tough thing afterwards and got on the camera and said, let's fight. That was stupid. We've all done stupid things.
Starting point is 02:00:24 Anytime you get on a camera and invite someone to fight, you're stupid. It's hilarious. It's the dumbest thing in the world. What an idiot. Listen, man. You got to look back at your past. Hey, fam, we got to delete some of these videos from YouTube. Nah.
Starting point is 02:00:37 I mean, no. Nostalgia purposes. I'm going to actually go back and watch them tonight. Yeah. And call the video Square Dance. You titled it. You titled the fight. Joe was the first nigga to IG Live.
Starting point is 02:00:53 Joe was the first nigga to want to fight one of these niggas. I don't know about that, but yeah, he was the first one. Oh, man. All right. What's going on? What's going on? What's going on? Young Thug admits he's never paid attention to Andre 3000.
Starting point is 02:01:04 Yeah, right. Did he say that? Because in reading this, down slow down slow down young thug appeared on ti's podcast as expeditiously and naturally they got into their atlanta bag and i was shocked i was shocked to hear all what thug had to say about 3K and we have it here Rory hit it I can't rap you 203,000 songs stop that
Starting point is 02:01:33 I ain't never I don't even feel right letting this play if that's true that's an indictment on Young Thug he said he can't rap two of his songs? Do y'all believe that to be true, that Young Thug can't rap two Andre 3000 songs?
Starting point is 02:01:52 You don't know Sorry Miss Jackson? I just saw someone post a picture of him on a red carpet with a I want to be like Andre Badu on the back of it. You don't know the words to me and your daughter. Got something going on. Who don't know the words to me and your daughter got something going on. Who don't know that verse? To all the hip hop purists, don't be mad at me. You say it's puppy love. Don't be mad at me.
Starting point is 02:02:14 Who don't know that verse? You know, a casual fan is sick. They might drop the beat out when that comes on in a club. Back to this DNA influence thing, I've always thought Thug was a three stack type rapper. Y'all thought Thug was a three stack type rapper. Young Thug gonna shoot you. No, like his style and flow, I think, comes a lot from 3000.
Starting point is 02:02:33 Yeah, this was shocking to hear this, to hear him say he doesn't know. And the amount of times 3000, 3000 only speaks four times a decade. And I feel like three out of four times is him saying, hey, the only artist I'm listening to and like is Young Thug. Yeah, but that don't mean nothing. The public adoration means nothing if when I actually meet you, it's not present. Let's listen to this in its
Starting point is 02:02:55 entirety to some degree. Hit it, Rory. 23,000 songs. I ain't never paid attention to them. Never in my life. You crazy. You missing out. Right. You missing out. Y'all need to work together.
Starting point is 02:03:09 That's what you, hey look. That'd be crazy. We most definitely, yo motherfucking next move. Just like you went and worked with Elton John, nigga. But Elton John,
Starting point is 02:03:18 was like, more like, Elton John, the difference from Elton John and Andre, is, Elton John, the difference from Elvin John and Andre is Elvin John, like simplified. Elvin John, Elvin John like to kiss ass. Andre like to act it.
Starting point is 02:03:38 Elvin John like, hey, I love you. I remember your first song. I remember Gucci's first song. We just grew up getting out. Like he's just more of like a fan type of nigga to the point where it's like I'm like nigga let's
Starting point is 02:03:46 but that's kind of my point I feel like by that definition of what he's saying I'm not saying Andre Thou's kiss ass
Starting point is 02:03:53 because I'm not going to say another man did that but Three Stacks has been praising Young Thug since he came out and only Young Thug
Starting point is 02:04:00 I have not heard 3000 say a word about another artist but Young Thug for the last decade he likes Young Thug for the last decade. He likes Young Thug. And I can understand why he would.
Starting point is 02:04:16 And I feel to the point that I feel like at Fife's memorial at the Apollo, he was talking about Young Thug there on stage. Like that's how much know any Andre 3000 records. Well, that's because we from New York. Yeah, which even more. If I'm from, that's like me being from New York and not knowing a Jay-Z record. Yeah. How do you not know a Jay-Z record? Like, how do you not know a Biggie record and you're from New York?
Starting point is 02:04:51 How old is i'm from new york and if there were a time where i felt like jay-z was going out of his way to not embrace me it might skew how i think of him as an artist i don't care how you think this is i don't i don't care how you think of him in the artist you can't you won't you won't be able to sit somewhere and say you don't know his music because i'm not from atlanta and i don't know enough about atlanta business this to a new york nigga sounds like there's some atlanta shit going on where thug didn't feel like he was respected uh appropriately by three three thousand how we just sat here and said three thousand does nothing but praise young thug and that's awesome but thug later went on to say elton john like i like to just play elton john kiss his ass listen as an artist and i want you to get just get into that mode as an artist when you respect somebody and look up to somebody and adore
Starting point is 02:05:37 somebody and you meet them and the energy is different it can't that's not what he said listen listen listen that's true what you're. He probably would. Listen, listen, listen. That's true what you're saying. That will still not equate to me saying I don't know this man's records. I still would not be able to say that. I don't care if I'm- If I'm sensitive, I would say that. No, but that's crazy. I'm not going to say I don't know your records because I met you when I became an artist
Starting point is 02:05:58 and I found out you were an asshole. I still grew up on your shit. Right. I still think you're an amazing rapper. When O said I'm about a dollar, what the fuck is 50 Cent? I didn't think he didn't hear a 50 Cent record. That's different.
Starting point is 02:06:08 No, but that's different, Joe. Come on, man. Because Hov was already established. 50 was, you know. He's saying like, well, don't compare him to me. That's all he was saying. He was like,
Starting point is 02:06:15 yo, you trying to throw shots at me? Like, who are you? That's all. Like, this is totally different. 3,000, I mean, Young Thug is saying he doesn't know two Andre 3000 records.
Starting point is 02:06:24 He can't sing them. That's crazy to me. That's insane to me. Young Thug is saying he doesn't know two Andre 3000 records he can't sing them that's crazy to me that's insane to me Young Thug is an amazing artist how can you be from Atlanta with an amazing artist like Andre 3000 and not know two of his records
Starting point is 02:06:34 and kind of sound like him in certain places well what Thug said what Thug said to T.I. was T.I. said that 3K is Atlanta and a staple here and a pioneer here and Thug said then why you don't rap like him?
Starting point is 02:06:48 What? What does that mean? That don't mean you got to rap like him, but you know his music. You know his work. Because it's hard to rap like him. Yeah, and nobody can rap like him. Nobody can rap. If we be going all the way real, nobody ain't going to be able to rap like him.
Starting point is 02:07:03 But to say that we don't know his music I could sit and try I could have his album on and try to do it but to say you don't know two of his records that's a little insane
Starting point is 02:07:13 and up until this I thought Andre 3000 was Young Thug's biggest musical inspiration you would think I thought they were
Starting point is 02:07:21 supporting each other and I swore they worked together I don't know why I thought in my head that there was a Young Thug album where there was
Starting point is 02:07:27 a Three Stacks verse I could see Three Stacks maybe reaching out to Young Thug after this no way Young Thug Thug he just said he was randomly spotted
Starting point is 02:07:36 playing his flute again he don't even know what's going on he's working on his clarinet tones yeah man you know this doesn't
Starting point is 02:07:42 affect his life at all but I understand what Thug is saying he feels like I'm going to stay out of Atlanta business Yeah, man. This doesn't affect his life at all. But I understand what Thug is saying. I'm going to stay out of Atlanta business. No, it's not no business. He just said he doesn't know 200,000, 3,000 songs. But you had a bigger point to make, I think, about younger artists meeting older artists
Starting point is 02:07:59 and what's the protocol of conversation. Yeah, the protocol of it. And like, what's the protocol of the protocol of it? Like, you know, sometimes sometimes you'll deal with an artist directly, like artist to artist. Sometimes your manager will say, hey, maybe you should try to do artist to artist. So to go a little different, like. different like it seems like young thug has a problem with three three stacks protocol or his infrastructure that he has in place where it's like all right if you want to feature for me or if you want to speak to me then talk to my secretary it's like if i want to talk to leo like i'll speak to his secretary first if i want to speak to kev or one of these just exact niggas
Starting point is 02:08:43 that i don't normally speak to, like it's normal for you to... Yeah, but Joe, everybody that knows Andre 3000... It's a scheduling thing, like let me get a block. Well, not really, because if I feel like Lior is my man man, then nigga, you can get
Starting point is 02:08:58 on the phone and we can talk about your schedule. Why am I speaking to your secretary which is what Doug said in that interview. I'm Doug, but Joe, all of that is fine that still would not allow me to say i don't know two of his records well you you're more mature no i'm just saying that's just it's insane as an artist of young thug's talent to and you're from the same city to not know andre 3000's music check this out before you retire we do want to hear you and this man together. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 02:09:27 One million percent. So let's get that back on that track. That would be extremely high on my list, period, for collabs I'd like to see. Yeah. I agree. Y'all two are two dope artists that are very similar in their styles,
Starting point is 02:09:43 but different. All right, now you dick riding now. No, come on. You know Young Thug in three styles, but different. All right, now you dig right in there. No, come on. You know Young Thug. I'm joking. Three stacks. How both their voices sound, how crazy that record is.
Starting point is 02:09:50 You're making sense. You're making sense. Hey. What that emoji mean, boy? Hey. That means you. What does it mean? What does it mean, Rourke?
Starting point is 02:10:00 Oh, nah. When you get that one. Ooh. Ooh. When she cover her eyes. She don't want to see. She don't want to see. She don't want to see. Bro, listen.
Starting point is 02:10:11 The shit that men get excited about is fucking crazy. Come on. Don't act like that. You better get the fuck out of here, bro. I'm too cool for this. No, I'm just saying. You know you get excited when she send this one. No, I'm laughing with y'all.
Starting point is 02:10:22 I'm not like. She don't see me. She don't even want to see it. The shit that we get excited about is so stupid, man. Like, I'm laughing with y'all. I'm not like, you don't see me. You don't want to see it. The shit that we get excited about is so stupid, man. Like, look what we get. Look. You happy you got that emotion?
Starting point is 02:10:30 This is the one I'm getting off recently. Have some self-respect. Did I just say that? Have some self-respect. It's working. It's working. Where's your fucking backbone? Be a man.
Starting point is 02:10:43 Hey, you free this weekend? Yeah, that's that's your fucking backbone? Be a man. That show's LOL. Hey, you free this weekend? Yeah, that's your LOL. Come on. Did I just ask? Did I just go there with you? I'd never say this. I don't know what's gotten into me.
Starting point is 02:10:56 But what are you doing? I don't know what's come over me. I'm so flustered. Joby fanning himself after the text. Like, whoo. Let me see your recent emojis. We do this whoo. Let me see your recent emojis. We do this a lot. Let me see your recent emojis.
Starting point is 02:11:08 At least once a month we do this. I don't give a fuck. Let me see it. I'm telling y'all what my. That's funny. Do you want to go on vacation next month? Did I just go there with you? We're platonic.
Starting point is 02:11:23 We're platonic. These aren't accurate because I don't even know. No, no, no, no, no, no. I'm serious. Come on, come on, come on. Let me see. No erasers.
Starting point is 02:11:31 It's just not, I don't even know how to do that. Look at the eyes, right? Look at the tongue out. Not the tongue emoji. All right, never mind. Let's not play with Rory. Let's not play with Rory.
Starting point is 02:11:39 Tongue emoji's in my tongue. Wait, hold on. You gotta get the tongue emoji off? Yeah, fam. While I'm engaged? I never did the tongue. Wait, hold on. I don't get the tongue emoji off? Yeah. Fam. While I'm engaged? I never did the tongue one. What tongue time? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:11:50 You see where the money bag is at, though. Number one, we know that. When do I get to send the tongue one? After she does this. When you're horny. Well, what does that one tell them? That I want to eat it? That you're horny.
Starting point is 02:12:03 That I want to lick it down? Depends on the situation. But no. I never did that eggplant shit when it was hot. I never thought that was cool. I never did that one. Is the tongue cooler than that? Yeah, the tongue is cooler.
Starting point is 02:12:17 I don't know what the tongue is at. I never did the eggplant. Oh, is the tongue an appropriate response to this? Yeah. Like, would she do this? Absolutely. Can I put the tongue? Yeah. Like, when she do this? Absolutely. Can I put the tongue? Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 02:12:27 You can do a tongue, man. Don't do it like that, though. Don't do that. Edit that out, nigga. Don't play with me. Make that the cover. Don't play. Don't put my tongue out.
Starting point is 02:12:34 Make that the cover, if you don't mind. Oh, man. Listen, man. What about the little smirk one? That was always high in my repertoire. It's lost its touch. It's not working out there anymore? I wouldn't know. I was never it's lost its touch. It's not working out there anymore. I wouldn't know.
Starting point is 02:12:45 I'm too busy doing I've got to watch my speech. All right. Where are we at here? A murder is happening tonight. Oh man.
Starting point is 02:13:00 Roy Jones versus Mike Tyson. Tonight is the night 9pm shout out to Trilla I got a thought is Trilla like the TikTok before TikTok
Starting point is 02:13:13 or it's a different Trilla I have no idea Trilla got on the phone with us well yeah us when we was on sign it was like alright name your price
Starting point is 02:13:22 really yeah it scared me and Ian it's like alright we'll get back hit him with a Dr. Evil We was on sign. It was like, all right, name your price. Really? Yeah, it scared me and Ian. It's like, all right, we'll get back. Hit him with a Dr. Evil. Six billion trillion dollars. No, I'm saying when niggas is too ready to close the deal, I'll call you back.
Starting point is 02:13:38 I don't know. I don't know my price. That's equivalent to a girl saying, pull it out right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Name your price. No, no, no. It's cold. I don't know my price. It's cold in here. It's cold. It's cold. Yeah. I don't even know how it's looking right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Name your price. Nah, nah, nah. It's Trilla. The dude is like a YouTuber, boxer, something like that. And he just started out calling each other out, and Nate was like, well, let's do it. Yeah, I'm watching that one. Who do you have winning that? I mean, Jake Paul has ring experience. Really?
Starting point is 02:15:20 I think that'll be the difference, yeah. I think that's the difference. Nate is just a super athlete, though. reach is much different too yeah not Jake Paul having real ring experience well well then go fight Gervonta then nigga no no no not like that what is you fighting him for I'm saying in regards to versus Nate Robinson Nate has never fought somebody in the ring I don't think well I'm sure I'm this is not their real heights sparred and done oh Jake Logan Jake Paul is not so much taller than Nate Robinson. He has a bigger reach, I think, when I saw when they were trying to put the stats up.
Starting point is 02:15:51 Well, I would assume that. His arms look a little longer. And that'd be the factor a lot of times. True story. That reach. I got Nate winning this. Nate is a freak athlete, man. Wouldn't shock me.
Starting point is 02:16:03 You got Nate winning this? Yeah, I got Nate winning this. He's a freak athlete, man. Nate is definitely a freak athlete.'t shock me. You got Nate winning this? Jake Paul beat up somebody before when he did this, but I just don't see it right now. We said the same thing when Sticky Fingers was fighting that dude. Yeah, yeah. Man.
Starting point is 02:16:25 Wait, did we ever uncover if that was real or fake? When was that fake? No, that was real. I thought that was real the whole time. I thought so, too, but then a rumor went out that said all of that was staged. I never heard that. Whose people put that out? All the time.
Starting point is 02:16:38 Whose people pushed that story? Important question. Very important question. Queens. Yeah, whose people pushed that story? It looked real to me. I'm watching this fight tomorrow, Mom. You gotta watch this fight.

Starting point is 02:18:32 Well, I'm glad Fresher's okay. Really happy that Fresher is all right. Really happy that he was able to escape being held captive. Really happy that he was able to experience the holiday with his family there was a million different ways that this story could have turned out last week we were freestyling all of them and i'm just happy that he's good it's a real good brother somebody i've worked with uh met invited to my house i'm just happy that he is cool and okay i will also use
Starting point is 02:19:03 this opportunity to continue to stress to y'all that the streets are probably hungrier than they've ever been. Yeah. That's a fact. That's what I got. That's what I got for you. Yes.

Starting point is 02:20:41 Nothing I have to say. Got to use that one call of favor very very strategically yeah yeah it's true oh shit Jay-Z now ties Quincy Jones as the artist
Starting point is 02:20:50 with the most nominations in Grammy history he don't care see and that's my point well he doesn't care yeah he's not gonna go pandering to the Grammys when he's not nominated
Starting point is 02:21:00 yo some of this Grammy backlash like it's a lot worse than I thought it's a lot worse than we even we even reported on even though we know it's bad every year. Well, some shit developed after we went off the air last week. Disgusting.
Starting point is 02:21:12 Specifically with the weekend where, I don't know if it was him directly suggesting this or his team. I don't want to say who it came from. It's a fact, wherever it came from. It was a fact. Grammy said, hey, us or the Super Bowl. Take your pick. If you go of the Super Bowl take your pick if you take if you go to Super Bowl no nominations fuck you and that's just uncovering some of the shit that's going on with the Grammys for years and years
Starting point is 02:21:33 but like why would you not want the weekend to do both yeah I didn't understand that a lot especially if the Super Bowl is in February right and for the people that were just watching the Super Bowl for the weekend, they would just watch the Grammys for the weekend, too. I don't get that thinking at all. And you're the Grammys. You're not in competition with the Super Bowl. It's not like he's going to do the Soul Train Awards or some shit.
Starting point is 02:21:56 Right. Yeah. Grammys need to make that make sense. Scared the shit out of me. He thought you was calling hoes. Yo, yo. Yo, the weekend. The weekend.

Starting point is 02:22:45 You know what I mean? I done been through the streets. I done took all type of dope from niggas. I done been on type of shit to niggas, and nigga ain't shoot me until I became a rapper. So I realize that I'm in a different arena, and I got to play that way. You know what I'm saying? I see myself as one thing in the world. See me as a different thing.
Starting point is 02:23:05 I mean, there ain't no manual for this shit Did it not saying did that do something to your psyche at all? Yes, it do and make you become somebody you don't want to be but you know, I mean, it's shit crazy Yeah, that's real I'm a good spirit Hey, what the fuck are you Ross doing Doing over there Oh we just chilling man No you're not No you're not That's the biggest house

But I learned something that day that everybody who we think... Our heroes are not everybody else's heroes. You feel what I'm saying? That's true.
Starting point is 02:25:27 And, I mean, obviously, he was inspired by other dudes, and it went well. And it went well for him. But our heroes are not everybody's heroes. You know what I'm saying? Real shit. I don't know what to say to Benny. I'm just happy that Benny's here on the phone

That's a pretty good idea. The headmaster would have known that Hugh Grant stopped paying for the school because he lost his job.
Starting point is 02:28:53 The headmaster had access to that little saxophone, whatever that is that the weapon was in that was in Oldboy's. Violin. Yeah. Shorty said she was seeing a therapist before she died or somebody on the stand somebody took the stand and said she was seeing a therapist before she died i just think the headmaster you're leaving out the most important part of that point which is why i think it's such a good one and it went past us because it would be something a principal
Starting point is 02:29:23 would ask anyways. He was very adamant about the conversation between the two kids and what was said. True. Yeah. He was, I mean, of course,
Starting point is 02:29:33 that got past us because it's a principal. He would be asking that question, but he was really adamant about their discussion. Like, what did y'all talk about? And Shorty's son has been dead quiet.
Starting point is 02:29:45 I don't think he's had a line in the show yet. Thanks. Yeah, I found this guy's page. The headmaster knew that Hugh was lying about the Cincinnati trip because Hugh wasn't paying for the school tuition anymore. Fired for three months. Papa Doc gave him 500K, and Grace told her father that Hugh had drained their bank accounts.
Starting point is 02:30:05 I just think the headmaster's a suspect. I agree with this guy. That's a really good theory. I agree with this guy. That's a really, really good theory. That's not a stretch. I like that. Yeah, I like it.
Starting point is 02:30:13 I can't wait to see. I think I'm going to have a kickback for it. And don't do that, Maul, because you know. Yeah, Maul knows because the writer of the show hit him and was like, yo, this is what happened. He worked on the show somehow. The real killer hit Maul. Tell us. Tell us.
