Starting point is 00:11:22 Yo, that's the fun part about being in your 40s, like just interpreting what everything really means Sure No plans I've been doing it too While making mad plans Nah I've been doing it too Mad chicks
Starting point is 00:11:36 And I'm mad Yo you figured it out And I'm snitching right now Cause they be listening Hey baby Yeah yeah yeah Man yo you know what you're doing Yo nah not yet nothing planned
Starting point is 00:11:45 nothing yeah nah no idea it's a crazy year i don't know yeah no plans and everything that i looked at it's like it's curfews there yeah like jamaica curfew then my nigga puffed through the solid assist without even knowing yeah what yeah i love when a celebrity friend does that that's never happened to me he threw threw you a no look? Without even knowing. Wow. Throughout that, yo, y'all, keeping things safe and healthy. Ain't nothing popping this year.
Starting point is 00:12:12 My word. That is right in line with the lies that I've been telling. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Yeah. That's how you got to do it. Oh, man. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:12:23 No plans. It's awesome. So, yeah, I got no plans. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no plans. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No plans. And I just don't know how much I'm sharing plans anymore, but we'll talk about that later, too.
Starting point is 00:12:33 Yeah. Niggas tried to drop my little weekend whereabouts out there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, that's what happened? That's what sparked us all? 1,000%. All the controversy? 1,000%.
Starting point is 00:12:42 That's what happened, man. You just tried to get some turkey leg hunt in peace, man. That's it. That's it. A little bit of taste. Taste bar. I had a blast in Houston, though. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:12:51 Yeah. What'd you do? Did you go out or you just kept it light? Just to eat. Okay. Just to eat. That's cool now. And for my client meetings.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Oh, of course. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Great meeting. Coffee. Close the deal. Coffee and a meeting. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, the caramel frap.
Starting point is 00:13:04 To die for oh bucko you don't know the caramel frap to die for I'm sure your arms are tired from all that signing of paperwork
Starting point is 00:13:15 want that listen man the deals the deals tireless the deals so much paperwork yeah
Starting point is 00:13:22 it's true I get it effortlessly reading through all of those things man the different talk points what are the deal what are the deal breakers yeah man it's a real thing then you got to meet their business associates sometimes clients galore man so i was glad that that worked out i had a real good time in houston real good food in houston and we can get to the rest of houston later but i want to start with gratitude just because uh well no actually we'll start with post christmas because i learned a few things since this is our first episode back post christmas
Starting point is 00:13:54 i learned that tinsel is ghetto i swear i promise you i never knew that tinsel on the christmas street like the spark The sparkly stuff. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a little. It's a mess. I don't know if it's ghetto, but it's a damn mess. No, no, no. Parks.
Starting point is 00:14:11 It's ghetto. I went and talked to the blacks. Yeah, that's old. That went out years ago. But I didn't know that. Yeah, yeah, that went out years ago. I just figured that out, or I was just taught that. I stopped utilizing it just because it's a fucking mess, but I didn't know it was ghetto.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Yeah, that went out years ago. Yeah, but then I started looking around at the trees. And you noticed it. Oh, this is a thing. Nobody does tinsel. That's only my ghetto black ass. Nobody does that no more. I liked it.
Starting point is 00:14:40 It's a thing because now it's more about lights and ornaments. And I saw something online where they were saying actually now with Christmas trees, less Yeah, no. It's a thing because now it's more about lights and ornaments. Okay. And I saw something online where they were saying, actually now with Christmas trees, less is more. Huh. Yeah, that's the new thing. That's the trend? Like the minimalist thing.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I did a minimalist tree. I did a huge tree, but it was minimally decorated. Yeah. And now it's just dead. It's over? It's been dead. Yeah, see, that don't sound bad anymore.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Yeah, it's not bad. The tree don't need to be overdone. Yeah, no. It's a lot of work. But the women always want to overdo it. She wanted to get all type of, I forgot what she called them, the sachets that go around it and all that shit. She wanted to dress it up.
Starting point is 00:15:13 I put a couple lights on it and called it a day. Yeah. Yeah. That's how you do it. Even when I went to my dad's to see his tree, there was no tinsel there either. No. There was no tinsel on any tree that I saw.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Yeah, that went out a long time ago. I think Cardi had some tinsel on her trees. She had a whole forest in her trees. I mean, she wrapped good a long time ago. I think Cardi had some tinsel on her trees. She had a whole forest in her trees. I mean, she rapped good. See, I expect Cardi to rap. That was my first Christmas observation. And my second one,
Starting point is 00:15:32 round of applause. I said round of applause. Here we go. Yo, man. The wives, the wifeys, and the baby mamas, most of them them really stepped up
Starting point is 00:15:48 with the gifts this year. That's what I noticed. My fiance's always been good with gifts but she did a good job this year. I got an air fryer. Parks will not miss the opportunity
Starting point is 00:15:57 to get pussy from his fiance. Am I the only one that notices that? That's the only place he's getting it from. He don't skip a beat. That's how you keep the spice.
Starting point is 00:16:06 All right, Parks. We're locked in the house. You got to make things right. Tell us how great she is. She's awesome, man. She's the best. She's the best. She's the best.
Starting point is 00:16:19 She got her a present for Christmas, really, because the air fryer's for her. Yeah, that's a smart move. That's gangster. That's a smart move. Well, that's what the real Gs do. Yeah. They get you the gift that they want. That they can use as well.
Starting point is 00:16:28 Yeah. And the air fryer is the greatest gift you can receive. I've enjoyed it so far. I did some wings. I did some fries. It's the greatest. It's one of the greatest inventions in the last 50 years, easily. We've got an incoming call, you guys.
Starting point is 00:16:41 Hello? Hello? Can I speak with Joe Budden of the Joe Budden Podcast? Who is this? Who is this? Hey, guys. Why you sound so sad?

Starting point is 00:19:43 Give me my economy money back. My middle seat money. They never give the economy money back. Close to the economy. Hey, buddy. And they're going to sell my seats. They're going to double their profits. Oh, yeah, sure.

Starting point is 00:20:38 It does. It hurts to see your peoples like this, man. Yeah. That's funny, though. I thought about this when I went down with COVID. And this is just odd. Why does it hurt as a podcaster when you can't talk to the people? Because that's what you do. That is some real corny.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Yeah, I know the people want me to touch this one. That is some real arrogant shit as a podcaster. I feel him, though. I feel him. He was like, damn, they ain't going to hear my voice. He was going to cook. He was going to cook this episode. Yeah, he was ready. He was loose. I feel him, though. I feel him. You know, he was like, damn, they ain't gonna hear my voice. He was gonna cook. He was gonna cook this episode. Yeah, he was ready.
Starting point is 00:21:07 He was loose. I saw him pregame. Yeah. I saw him pregame waiting outside of the box. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I saw him. He was hitting everything.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Yeah, yeah, I saw him. Oh, speaking of hitting everything, I did see a clip, and we're gonna start this podcast soon, but I saw a clip of Steph Curry making, I think it was 600,
Starting point is 00:21:24 600 three-pointers. That baseline three. He made it straight for like five minutes, and then he missed one. I want to send that to my dad for his little Bob Cousy take. Whoever the hell he was. Cousy never did this. Bill Bradley or whoever he was talking about. Bill Bradley.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Bill Bradley. Now, gratitude. Post-Christmas, last part of the year, they're going to make docs about this year one day. Docs, movies. They're going to make movies about this one day, and I'm going to be in it. You guys may be in it that's because this is gonna be one to tell our kids about and our grandkids about and well shit I'm already kind of talking to my kids about
Starting point is 00:22:16 it so yeah this is gonna be one of them uh a lot of people didn't make it not to get morbid that's not what I'm here to do but I'm here to be thankful because a lot of people didn't make it not to get morbid. That's not what I'm here to do. But I'm here to be thankful because a lot of people didn't make it. And for at least a third of the year, I was saying to myself, boy, do I really just want to make it to the end of 2020 and see the next year. So I'm thankful for all of that. I want to shout out to the fellow podcasters. I did that at the top. But man, y'all really held it down this year.
Starting point is 00:22:51 Yeah. Held it down and y'all continue to do so. Elliot, BDoc goes without saying. Nori, Gilly, Wallow. Who am I missing? Who am I missing? There's more than I'm missing. Rogan.

So if you've had to do that, salute to you. My hat is off. My hat is off to you. Yeah. Not to mention all the logistics and studio rentals and people wearing masks and checks and temperature checks.
Starting point is 00:23:36 It's a lot. It feels like so much has happened. The zooming, the changing of the world, TV production Houses Coming to a complete halt Yeah Movies Dying Fucking bowling alleys Closing all the things

Starting point is 00:24:53 We didn't know what was going on What was happening What the year was going to look like You know it was like They said it was going to be two weeks Yeah So it's like I think we did a great job
Starting point is 00:25:03 At just pushing through And finding a way to figure things out and being consistent. And Roof Chris still won't put the tomahawk steak back on the menu. Is that a COVID thing? Yeah. Well, a lot of restaurants aren't stocking a lot of stuff, especially expensive items because they're not going to sell quick enough. Yeah, I get it.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Yeah, they wasn't fully opening, so they wasn't going to have the full menu cost yeah I get it Yeah they wasn't They wasn't fully opening So they wasn't going to Have the full menu It cost them more Especially the time off Yeah But they got some other shit And this is not an ad
Starting point is 00:25:32 No I get it Yeah But yeah a lot of our favorite things That we've Are used to doing In places we're used to Going around the city Are no longer there
Starting point is 00:25:40 So it's You know even going into 2020 Like I said I'm grateful that we made it through And that We're not out the woods yet though We're not out the woods yet But we also got to be careful Because we don't know So it's, you know, even going into 2020, like I said, I'm grateful that we made it through. We're not out the woods yet, though. We're not out the woods yet, but we also got to be careful because we don't know what we're going into. Facts.
Starting point is 00:25:52 You know what I mean? Because coming out of 2019. I'm not sleeping on 2021. No, no, no. You can't. I'm not just partying when the ball drops. No, no, you can't. I mean, celebrate a year of making it and celebrate the year for the people that didn't make it and their honor and their memory. But also just be more present in the moment too.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Yeah. And be grateful for right now. It's early for sleepers. Did you guys watch soul or not sleepers? I didn't see it. I didn't see it. I heard it was great though. It was really good.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Did we watch what? Soul's Pixar movie on Disney+. Oh, no, no, no, no. It's really fucking good. Yeah. I heard it was. I'm going gonna check it out I heard that
Starting point is 00:26:25 part of it is being present in the moment got it be more present man be more present be more present that's what I learned this shit
Starting point is 00:26:32 be more present it's good to plan ahead but definitely appreciate right now yeah I had and beat COVID my dad had and beat COVID
Starting point is 00:26:44 then beat some hip replacement knee surgery shit like boy my dad has been boy has he been just like a tough cookie these last few years um my mom is cool I bought my mom's house like congratulations this year has been up and down. It's just been like a roller coaster of shit. Like when you felt good. Well, for me anyway, when I felt good, I never felt the comfort in feeling good for too long. Because then you get a phone call that a such and such just died and they sleep abruptly. No, nobody knew nobody was ready for that., it's just been a lot of that. Yeah. So I come in here just, like, extremely grateful today.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Not just for me, but for y'all. Yeah. For the bro y'all play. Everybody. Shout out to the day ones and the first and last time listeners. Shout out to the lovers, the haters. Shout out to dude that's probably on Diss track 39 Now
Starting point is 00:27:46 But just All of y'all The memers It's just a lot of y'all So many important cogs So many moving parts And Parts that are supposed
Starting point is 00:27:59 To not move That have to go But I just was telling this to you Right Why was I telling this to you? Because I walked in to see the thing is pod and was just grateful again. That's what happened.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Because yeah, Mandy was trying to fucking get to make all her millionaire jokes because I was smiling in a good mood. And I was like, yo, it's so not about that. Like this position has been bestowed upon us oh i'm about to get kind of a little randy but i'll stop like this position has been bestowed upon us and i don't ever take it for granted so i've been in situations we've been in situations, we've been in situations where we had to deliver with nothing for nothing to nothing. Right.
Starting point is 00:28:48 Yeah. Like and did it because we loved it and was passionate about it. So now for this to be working is so many different parts that have to be working together. Yeah, absolutely. In unison. And when you see that happening man it's just like a thing of joy to fucking watch it would have to be like they felt when they saw hamilton for the first time like as a creator so yeah i'm excited about that i don't stop smiling about that and
Starting point is 00:29:18 especially ending the year yeah like all them fucking spotify episodes Ranting, raving, all bad business Like fam, where we are Where it looks like it's going Shout out to the business that's about to occur Some people don't feel too bad About 2021 Because we've spent half of 2020 preparing for it Almost all of 2020 preparing for it right almost all of 2020 yeah no i see uh
Starting point is 00:29:47 i see a lot more content i see a lot more presence from us i see a lot more impact i see culture shifting and transformative business partnerships and relationships being forged. Even when I come in here and scream cash, I'm not going to dick ride. But yeah, it's thinking changing. It's ideologies changing. It's models changing.
Starting point is 00:30:17 It's, hey, you got to get creative in business if you want to be in business with creatives. And some of us are going to rep that and stand by it. Even today with some of the shit we better talk about with the Reebok and all these. There's shit going on. Meek and Dirk and 21 and them niggas, they talking about, yo, where the Silicon Valley niggas at? We need our own platform. Conversation is changing.
Starting point is 00:30:45 Yeah. And I'm just real happy that I'm here to witness it, man. That's the end of my little mini rant. That's beautiful. But shout out to the forward thinkers. Yeah. Shout out to the sheep.
Starting point is 00:30:57 Shout out to the wolves. Shout out to everybody, man. Yo, there's a place for everybody. Everybody plays a part. Everybody plays a part. Yeah. That's a fact. everybody plays a part and shout out more importantly shout out to uh shout out to the supporters man the listeners the fans like i i learned so much and you know it sounds cliche but i've learned so much from the the listenership
Starting point is 00:31:19 and the fans and the supporters because you know we sit here and we do what we do because we love doing it but when you start to talk to the people that follow it and support it you start to learn how much it means to them and how much energy
Starting point is 00:31:33 that they put into just supporting it and I don't think people talk about that enough yeah recipes to the kid Midnight Soul that was a supporter
Starting point is 00:31:40 that took his life earlier this year too that just came to my mind you know what I mean Things like that People you talk to online That put so much
Starting point is 00:31:50 Into what you do And that love What you do so much They don't understand How much that pushes us too Yeah Because we talk about that When we take time off
Starting point is 00:31:58 We're like Oh they gonna be pissed off So they're in our thoughts We think about them With every move That we make With them in mind Absolutely So shout out to The listeners and the supporters We love y'all We appreciate y'all They're in our thoughts. We think about them with every move that we make with them in mind. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:32:05 So shout out to the listeners and the supporters. We love y'all. We appreciate y'all. And y'all play a bigger role than y'all. We saved their lives. They kind of saved our lives
Starting point is 00:32:14 in a lot of ways. Absolutely. 1000%. Yeah. Even the harsh critics. Yeah, I love it. I enjoy it. I love it.
Starting point is 00:32:22 I love it. I love it. All the memes. Yeah, hilarious. It's part of it. It's part of it. It's all a part of it. I enjoy it. I love it. I love it. I love it. All the memes. Yeah. Hilarious. It's part of it. It's part of it. It's all a part of it.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Yeah, no. No, it's true. All right. Now, with that said, what do y'all want to talk about? Well, it was an interesting week of, I guess, online artists and a lot of things going on online and conversations being had. I guess we can start there. Online? Tell me, what happened? Well, apparently
Starting point is 00:32:50 I was deep, deep, deep in some client business. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Taking care of business. Deep, deep in client business. I believe Meek Mill had an episode on The chatty. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:07 Oh, no, that was the other night. That wasn't even over the weekend. I think that was last night. Oh, really? Two nights ago now. Yeah, two nights. Yeah, sure. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Yeah, I wasn't in there for all of it, so I can't say. I just know. I don't know, man. I don't know. The chatty is growing. I will say that. There's a lot more people on there than there has been oh no
Starting point is 00:33:26 it's growing I told you I don't want to hear about that beta shit anymore I'm damn near at 300,000 followers on there that means that
Starting point is 00:33:33 there's probably a million people on there now just that fast yeah but we saw that we saw the slow burn happening
Starting point is 00:33:41 the invite of the invite of the invite it's a domino effect yeah and it feels different and that's the thing about that that that app feels different week to week like yeah i know i know but i don't remember that happening with twitter and instagram and the other apps so rapidly because we didn't yeah we didn't see twitter and Instagram grow. Well, it was different then because there wasn't... We saw black Twitter get popular. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:10 But Twitter, like now we have Twitter to watch Clubhouse. We had Facebook and MySpace, but it wasn't the same level of engagement. Right. So we couldn't comment on it and watch it and talk about it the same way we can now with Clubhouse. I know that with some of this chatty house stuff that gets leaked off platform, it's judged differently on the other platforms. That's why I say it's tough for me to gauge this, because in that in that meek room, he might have been having a lot of real talk and real spill. But only the click baitable shit or the moment, the one moment where he might have lashed out only that stuff gets out or some of the shit where he's talking about maybe a name he probably shouldn't have said like only that stuff gets out but in the room in the essence of that moment yeah
Starting point is 00:34:56 it might have been a lot of real useful information and i did chime in that room i got in there late and they was dropped they was dropping it in there. They was giving it up. It was great shit. But again, I missed all the whatever the fun shit was supposed to be. A lot of shit gets taken off context when you're not on the platform. And that's even happened within Twitter itself, where old Twitter conversations are being brought up out of context and making people look terrible.
Starting point is 00:35:19 And some people are terrible. But sometimes it was a context thing. You know what I mean? There were certain jokes and trending things that people were saying. There were awful, terrible things to say, but at that time, it wasn't out of context. Do you guys think that context comes back
Starting point is 00:35:34 next year and the year after? God, no. Because context has been dead. It has. I think it's going to die more. I don't think so. Well, you're such a fucking pessimist. I'm just trying to tell you what I'm seeing and how I feel.
Starting point is 00:35:47 Because now you can literally be sitting, you're on an app, literally. Because I say things get taken out of context on Twitter where it's words and you're reading it. You can't hear how the person is saying it. But now you can hear what I'm saying. You hear me. And that's still being taken out of context. So now it's like, all right, so what are we doing now you're hearing me now you're hearing it come out of my I'm telling you out of my mouth and you're still taking that out
Starting point is 00:36:12 of context people been taking audio out of context for hundreds of years this is what I'm saying so I don't see it well I'm not trying to I know there's a business and taking things out of context absolutely I don't think I don't think that business is gonna die no. No, that's growing. That's booming. But for the rest of us that don't participate in it, I mean, we do our part
Starting point is 00:36:31 to keep it alive, but it's a hard fight. It just depends on how far you take it out of context. When you get to canceling people for things that are jokes or taking extremely
Starting point is 00:36:42 out of context, that's trash. Yeah. And I see more of that is all I'm saying. Yeah. Because like we said, it's business. Yeah. And I see more of that. This is all I'm saying. Yeah. Because like we said, it's business.
Starting point is 00:36:48 I feel like people are getting a little tired of the cancel shit though. No, no, no. The cancel thing, people are like, shut up. Unless it's something absolutely insane.
Starting point is 00:36:57 That's different. But for the most part, I think we did get away from that. We spoke about that earlier in the year. And I think we did a good job of moving away from that. You cannot agree with somebody, but everything year and i think we did a good job of moving away from that like you cannot agree with somebody but everything is not canceled exactly i mean
Starting point is 00:37:09 yeah that's all yeah and the gotcha culture same thing you know hey you said this last week right this week i said this right all that shit yeah i guess there's a name for that on gotcha culture gotcha culture yeah for sure yeah i changed my mind yeah exactly i'm saying something different now yeah um while we're on chatty house the chatty house dominating the headlines yeah i did it again this weekend and provided amazing compelling content for the internet you working on your day off come on man a day after Christmas Joe Budden strikes again I saw you trending
Starting point is 00:37:49 and got a little nervous I'm not gonna lie I didn't get nervous I was just business as usual there's always that there's always that that crew of friends
Starting point is 00:37:58 like that's from the trending yeah I'm the total opposite I'm the total opposite friend I see Joe Trend and I laugh
Starting point is 00:38:05 mission accomplished cause there's some people they're just their sensors are just like they're sensitive to this type of stuff some people got
Starting point is 00:38:14 publicist brain some people are a bit more worrisome than others some people have bad anxiety all was all was amazing in the land of amazing in the land of the free.
Starting point is 00:38:27 Now, I was in Houston when all this occurred. Oh, man. You're enjoying a nice vacation. Client business parks. Right. I did not have the luxury of vacaying. Intense negotiations. Don't violate your client privilege.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Come on, come on. Yeah, I've got NDAs. I've got NDAs all over the place. Hey, add here, subscribe here, sponsor, swipe up. You know the routine. Yeah, so I was out there and as soon as I land and check in,
Starting point is 00:38:59 kill a few minutes, kill some time. Oh, there's Youngberg in the room. Let me go say what up to the homie Right Which is what you Normally would do Yeah I mean I thought it was cool
Starting point is 00:39:09 Yeah And it wasn't It wasn't cool It wasn't Did you start to read the room Not really I tried to read the room Yeah
Starting point is 00:39:16 I tried to read the room He told me Nah that room is over That room closed I mean I tried to I pulled out all the tricks yeah no he said that room is over
Starting point is 00:39:28 it's a new room now read this one right got it got it got it got it that was funny that was funny in the morning in Houston when I had a very important
Starting point is 00:39:38 client meeting coming up I don't really know what to say about it because there's nothing to say about it like yeah I don't want to Joe it no I don't want about it because there's nothing to say about it. Like, I don't want to Joe it.
Starting point is 00:39:46 No. I don't want to Joe this. There's nothing to say, man. Yeah, and it's okay to have, you know, you can disagree. I think, and it's only with our culture, I think, that we feel like we can't disagree with each other. And it just be that. Like, it's just a disagreement. Like, you read something
Starting point is 00:40:05 the wrong way and you took something out of context and you head back to that word and that's not what it was and fine that's okay that you took that out of context and that's not what i was doing that's not what i said it's not how i meant it but and you know it just in our culture it seems like there's this thing of where it has to be a uh like a clash or a bump of heads where it's like it's not even that type of energy though an altercation yeah it's like i'm not even it's not that type of energy we can disagree it can even get loud you know but but it's like i think that we it's important that more than ever to me personally as black men more than ever to me personally as black men we just have to understand that it's okay for us to disagree it's okay for us to see things from different perspectives and point of views but
Starting point is 00:40:53 we have we always have to keep in mind and keep a certain level of respect certain level of just like you know energy right let's just keep a certain level of energy because we come from a combative culture, number one. We come from a competitive culture. So it's like, but at all times, I think respect and the right energy has to stay in place because once we do that, we can sift through all the bullshit.
Starting point is 00:41:18 It has to stay in place because I've been reporting on death all year. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a problem with the country in general not just our our culture hip-hop culture like people don't meet in the middle ever yeah right it's you're wrong i'm right team this team that right right come on and i mean i did try to listen with with uh an open mind and open ears and i have been seeing a few other whispers of, you know,
Starting point is 00:41:45 with them calling Vlad to the carpet and academics to the carpet on how they choose to do media. Mm-hmm. I've seen a few with my name
Starting point is 00:41:56 bunched in there. Mm-hmm. So, I mean, I've sat back and said, well, is our podcast toxic to the culture? Like I do understand
Starting point is 00:42:07 when people say that. Sure. I just don't think it's applicable here or to me. And if you do feel like it is toxic that's fine too
Starting point is 00:42:17 but it's a way you express that. Yeah. It's a way you go about just you know talking to people and just saying yo listen I didn't agree with that.
Starting point is 00:42:26 And that's fine. Like everybody, we're not going to say the right things. Nobody's perfect. We're not going to get it right every single time. Don't make for a very boring universe. And that's what I'm saying. So it's okay to have your ups and downs and your disagreements and your agreements. That's fine.
Starting point is 00:42:39 But I think it's more important now than ever because there's so much opportunity for us. You know what I mean? And it's like so many eyes and ears and like the world is watching our culture. If we haven't learned anything through this pandemic, we've learned that hip hop culture saves the world. Right. So it's like it's important for us to just keep a certain level of integrity and respect in our culture, especially amongst each other. You know what I mean? And that's my whole thing. keep a certain level of integrity and respect in our culture especially amongst each other you know i mean and now and that's my whole thing like coming off of that it was just it was just a
Starting point is 00:43:08 certain level of energy that i was disappointed wasn't present at all times you know i'm saying and now and that's just what i took for it i'm like i just didn't like the nice way to say that you know i mean it was like i didn't like it i understand like if people don't agree with things that said we can disagree forever. We have disagreed forever. Sure. But when you keep a certain level of energy and respect present at all times, you can get through anything. And that's just my belief. Well, one, I don't take I don't take this for granted.
Starting point is 00:43:34 I don't take I don't take. The responsibility that comes with having a platform this large for granted. It's a big responsibility. a platform this large for granted mm-hmm it's a big response I think it would have been real easy to reply like I said with selfishness ego and pride in that conversation and that would have served as a distraction to what the greater goal is for me I can't speak for anybody else. Right, right. Right? But when you take that ego and that selfishness and that pride and all of that evil shit out of it,
Starting point is 00:44:14 and you're just grateful that the people kind of have thrust you into this position, because this wasn't me. Like, I planned to do a pod. I could have never foresaw this happening this way right it could never be me the guy that spent the majority of his career hated the majority of his career as the guy that they didn't want to succeed I'm never gonna be arrogant enough to think that this was solely Joe's genius
Starting point is 00:44:45 that's why we're here no I was saying in a room earlier like I'm blessed to not be a worker and to be a boss and an owner today because it means I'm not really answering to anybody but the fans and the people because they are the people that bestowed this position upon me and with that you're gonna have to listen to some niggas that you don't agree with right you're gonna have to listen to some niggas that's awfully vague not the clearest in their point you're gonna have to listen to some niggas that's a little more aggressive than you'd like them to be you're just gonna have to listen to niggas right because it's niggas that put you in this spot i think i was just giving this speech off mic a few weeks ago to rory saying listen some of the things that uh some people want to
Starting point is 00:45:39 beef about those aren't the things that joe will beef about for this exact reason. Like, no, I'll let you know when we on high alert. I'll let you know when danger seems imminent. Like, I'll let you, I will let you know all of that. There's no need for anybody to worry. Like, there's proper protocol to go through when you feel that those things are happening. But in just critiquing culture? Right.
Starting point is 00:46:09 Yeah, no. And critiquing culture is, again, there's going to be disagreements in that. Of course. Because people are going to feel like, oh, no, I like that, or I didn't like that, or I agree with that, or I don't agree. But again, the right energy. Yeah, but you artists are going to have to learn how to go about those disagreements. I'm just going to be frank with you. There's been remnants lurking of black media versus artists beef brewing. It's been brewing for a while.
Starting point is 00:46:49 is artists beef brewing it's been brewing for a while uh it's maybe come off as arrogance on some of media's part to say hey y'all need us like y'all can't really drop without us so we should be respected in a way and when i hear that i get where they're coming from I don't really stand by it but I get it but the flip side of that is the people that we hold at the highest of standards and the people we support and the people that we champion they frown upon black media they frown upon black media. They frown upon doing it. They somehow think they get to edit editorial. They somehow think that they get to have a whole bunch of opinions on shit that is not really present the other way around like media don't get to call the rappers and say when we have an issue with something all we get to do is talk about
Starting point is 00:47:55 it like there's some things that go along with let me not get too randy right now but this has been brewing for a little bit i've heard the breakfast club address it when that meg shit popped up i've heard ax said with a few different niggas in terms of how they expect him to go about things and now we have this instance here with somebody who just sounded a little uninformed having an issue with something that with a having an issue with something that joe had an issue with i had an issue with how that yada interview went if that was what the issue was about joe had an issue with it too by the way yeah that was my very first interview and it was a better way to get that message across to the youth right i think i said that on here before i don't think any i don't think i said anything in that conversation
Starting point is 00:48:45 that should have been a surprise to anybody i think i've spent when i take a long hard look in the mirror i think i've spent a good amount of time on the wrong side of the generation uh gap merging like i speak from a guy that's been on that side of maybe being angry at how hip-hop was evolving. I don't think that's been me in a little while. Like, y'all can tell me if I'm wrong. No, I think that's not true. I understand that being the reputation still. Yeah, it's hard to shake.
Starting point is 00:49:16 Because on the internet, it's hard to shake certain things. Also, getting back to the context, like, in the conversation that we had about the boom-bap thing, like, sometimes you're just creating some shit to talk about and make some jokes about and laugh about and it gets maybe it gets taken too far in our conversation maybe it gets taken out of context but sometimes we're just doing shit to have a conversation man yeah i know but if you know where my heart lied then you know i really never want to talk about any of you. Like some of y'all weren't here for the inception of this pod,
Starting point is 00:49:49 but that's how this pod was birthed. It was birthed as a retired rapper not even knowing how to talk about this shit. Not even caring enough, not even understanding why this had to go out, and it just grew that way. So, yeah, sorry sorry now i'm here and
Starting point is 00:50:06 i gotta talk about shit i don't want to talk about yeah right sorry you guys yeah and again even that's fine as long as the right energy and respect of course it's fine you of course it's fine you would want to be you would want to be grateful hey when i first heard that hove was about to be the president in Def Jam, I got super excited that it was an artist now that might understand some shit coming to be the president on the back end. Like for me, I would be excited that there's an artist dude that kind of understands some of the shit with artistry that can talk about it.
Starting point is 00:50:41 And still offer critique, but hopefully in a way that you can at least respect their opinion on. You know what I'm saying? In the past, people that were critiquing music were rarely people that were creating music or have created music. So when they offered, yo, this bar in here was trash or whatever the fuck their little critique was,
Starting point is 00:51:00 it's like, who the fuck are you to talk about it? Right. But when there's people like Joe or even myself that are active in music and we're offering a critique, I feel like you should feel good about it in a way, even if it's a bad critique. But not only that, and it's just something that I've spoken with Joe about personally, it's always going to come across to other artists a certain way because no matter what, Joe is an artist first.
Starting point is 00:51:23 True. They still view him, like when Joe speaks about other rappers and their albums and their songs and he doesn't like them, they're always going to go to, well, nigga,
Starting point is 00:51:31 I didn't like your shit either. Right. That's fine. That's fair. You know what I'm saying? Cool. Sure. But that's what it really is.
Starting point is 00:51:39 It's like people look at that and that's what they know you for. So they're always going to think that when you say something about an artist or somebody, it's from a disgruntled artist's point of view. Yeah. You understand? It's not from a point of view of, no, I went through that and I don't want these other artists to go through that.
Starting point is 00:51:54 I want them to look out for this and be careful about how they go about doing this. Because I did it. I made those mistakes and I know what can happen as a result of that. I also feel like sometimes our critiques, we understand what may have led to this situation happening. Maybe that gets lost sometimes in translation. Maybe sometimes we're completely wrong about what may have led to this song not being as good or whatever it is. But Joe, all of us that are on this podcast and work in the music business,
Starting point is 00:52:18 so sometimes we can be like, oh, man, it seems like the label dropped the ball on this one, or they hired the wrong guy to produce this one or mix this one, or whatever it may be. And we've been completely wrong on a lot of things. That's the beauty in it. That's what makes it what it is. It's like we're wrong, we get more information,
Starting point is 00:52:33 we talk about it, and we move forward. Man, what do you do when all of the black media says, okay, we're not talking about you? And then let people go back to talking to white media that really doesn't care about the world. Because it ain't but four of y'all to get the white media you so preciously sought. It's four of you.
Starting point is 00:52:55 And there's a reason that this podcast wasn't predicated on doing interviews with artists, which I tried to say nine times in that call too. I don't speak to artists. I don't even know this shit that you're talking about. I talk to niggas that I enjoy. People that I like. There would never be a need
Starting point is 00:53:14 to diss them face-to-face. I can't think of any artist that we've ever had here that we didn't fuck with. Hey, that's a blessing. Yeah. It's a blessing that we're not in the business of having to speak to people that we may not want to speak to but thank god i know how to go about that pretty well yeah and thank you for uh dying on that hill because it would be easy for
Starting point is 00:53:41 us to just become the interview podcast but we don't fam because who that be easy for us to just become the interview podcast, but we don't. Fam, because that's enjoyable for who? Right. What interview out of 20 is enjoyable? We got to be cool with the publicists. We got to be the promo run pod. And this is no offense to anybody that does it. No doubt. There's value in everybody doing it.
Starting point is 00:54:02 Yeah, absolutely. But what we do, it's just different. Yeah know i mean like it's just it's different and i think that that's what makes it work is that people know that when somebody sits down with us it's because oh they really fuck with them you know i mean they talk about them all the time and now they're finally in the room and they're able to share some of the jokes and some of the with the person that they talk about yeah and i think that's what makes it dope. But again, man, you know, I love this culture for many reasons. I love the fact that we are so competitive. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:54:29 I think, again, sometimes things go a little left with energy. Yeah. And even that is expected at times. Sure. But... It's a passionate... Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:54:40 Art is passionate. Absolutely. But at the same time, present in the moment. Look at the year. year yeah look at everything we're going through if this doesn't change you this was a year of change as far as i'm concerned yeah whether it be bad or good change it was a year of change you have to change the way you go about things and the way you approach things because at the end of the day it's what is it really about pick your greed your grievances wisely exactly exactly yeah fam i have so much shit planned for 2021 yeah be careful we had a
Starting point is 00:55:14 lot planned for this year too facts you know i mean i know but all we can ever do is put ourselves in the position to see if the universe will allow something. Absolutely. Like, we could plan, but we got to get to the spot. We got to run the right route. Absolutely. For that ball to get there. Right, right. Even in regular years, it was the same apply. You know, we had shit planned, but some shit happened.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Right. You know, this year was obviously a much grander scale of that, but we don't get to choose what happens in the world, unfortunately. Right. So we got to just adjust. I finished this year, and I lost jobs. Like, I'm doing so okay that it didn't really hit me until the end of the year that I lost jobs.
Starting point is 00:55:54 Like, Love & Hip Hop had to actually stop recording mid-season, no reunion, no nothing, no plan. Just go home. Here's your little cute navy blazer that you were wearing. You really killed him in this one. Watch your smirk. Watch your smirk, Savon. Rory not here.
Starting point is 00:56:16 Savon should be on Love and Hip Hop. I got a clear view. He ain't got no love. Or hip hop. Because you can't go in there and be the guy to get dumped. Well, I did. You made it the thing. That's actually the best part of the show.
Starting point is 00:56:29 My sauce is all over the culture. It's all over the culture. Yeah, you made that hot. But I lost that job. Fucking revolt. We had to stop filming. Like, shit happened this year. Yeah, it did.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Yeah. It did. But again, present in the moment. Find new ways. Present in the moment. Yeah, it did. Yeah. It did. But again, present in the moment. Find new ways. Present in the moment. Present in the moment. Oh, man. I want to see what summer 2021 looks like.
Starting point is 00:56:50 Oh, man. If this shit. If this shit. If they let us be. If it's open. Oh. Greatest summer ever. God willing, the vaccinations or whatever, maybe the shit dies down, whatever the fuck
Starting point is 00:57:00 happens. Greatest summer ever. It's going to be incredible. The greatest summer ever. I'm going on record right now saying that if the world is opening summer 2021, it is's gonna be Incredible The greatest summer ever I'm going on record right now Saying that if the world Is opening summer 2021 It is going to be
Starting point is 00:57:09 The greatest summer ever Something else The greatest summer ever I'm never coming home My nigga they Oh baby They gonna be letting What
Starting point is 00:57:16 You wanna fuck right here The amount of fucking That's gonna happen We might be locked down tomorrow Like we can fuck right here The amount of fucking That's gonna happen When the world opens back up. Greatest summer
Starting point is 00:57:25 ever. Oh, there's going to be cum everywhere. Everywhere. You're not going to want to touch nothing. Nowhere. That's hilarious. It's going to be great. Yeah, it's going to be like they're on a conveyor belt. Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:57:41 In and out. Now, I don't think that the world will be open this way in the summer. But shit, if I catch it in the fall, fall 2021, same mix for me. We here. It don't matter if it happens in January of 2022. Right. People are going to be fucking. It's going to be crazy.
Starting point is 00:57:58 It's going to be crazy. It is. Y'all think touring? We still don't think touring's back this year, right? I think certain venues and states. Well, listen. Atlanta, Miami, and Houston are up, up. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:12 That's why I said certain venues and states. Actually, all I've heard about Houston was how everybody's going to Houston for New Year's Eve. And then I was like, well, shit, where y'all hearing this? And then they told me oh it's all atlanta niggas saying are we going to houston i'm saying all right so that's atlanta that's houston and then the rest of the people saying yo miami is up for new year's eve and i'm like okay this makes sense the three places that are open probably gonna be a little nuts yeah yeah i think certain certain venues and states i think uh you'll be allowed
Starting point is 00:58:45 to perform i think also that even states like new york or california that may have had stricter or currently going through stricter lockdowns will hopefully the vaccine is successful and properly distributed or whatever and people take it whatever or if the trend of the coronavirus kind of dying down in the summer was not just because of the lockdowns. Maybe it's because of a weather thing, an outdoor thing. I think we might see even places that are locked down open up a little bit for the summertime.
Starting point is 00:59:13 I see them saying that the new strain of COVID can potentially blind you temporarily. That's got to suck. I mean, everything I've read is that it's more transmissible, but not necessarily more deadly or whatever.
Starting point is 00:59:32 So, still scary, no doubt. Yeah. Cool. This shit is going to continue to mutate. If there's a chance that a new strain blinds you temporarily, buddy, all bets are off. You thought the little A new strain blinds you temporarily, buddy.
Starting point is 00:59:46 All bets are off. You can still feel the taste. You thought the little smell taste thing was bothersome. Not seeing. Not being able to see. For 37 minutes. Out of the clear blue sky. Yeah, that's scary. That's scary.
Starting point is 01:00:00 They are killing Stevie Wonder for filing for divorce, by the way. I haven't seen that. I read so many stupid-ass comments about that. I don't know if he's really fouling for divorce. You know how much of a piece of shit you got to be for a blind man to never want to see you again? Yeah, the internet has to relax sometimes, man. Like, you're a piece of shit.
Starting point is 01:00:19 Oh, my God. I'm just like, damn, I didn't think about it like that. But okay, I get it. I didn't see this. Yeah, the internet had a field day with that. But I mean- I would want to hear from Stevie Wonder as to why he's getting a divorce. Like, what's wrong?
Starting point is 01:00:35 Listen, man. Listen. I get it. That's Stevie, man. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, I get it. That's Stevie, right?
Starting point is 01:00:42 Yeah. It's run its course. It's over. Shit happens, yeah.'s like Stevie, right? Yeah. It's run its course. It's over. Shit happens. Whether I can see or not, it's run its course. If a new strain of COVID blinds you temporarily, I'm going to stay home. After this trip. How temporary is it?
Starting point is 01:00:54 After this next trip. Yeah, how temporary? Oh, I don't know. A couple of minutes? I don't care how long it is. I'm not a fan. Oh, I close my eyes for a couple minutes during the day anyway, so it's okay.
Starting point is 01:01:06 I cannot see. I expect to see some shit when I open them back, though. If I open up and anything is just all white. You're like, all right, all right, fam. I'm ready to see again. Yeah, sir.
Starting point is 01:01:15 Sorry, buddy. That's scary, though. What else is happening? Oh, got it. God, we got to put on our whole Avenger cape. Oh, yeah. Do we?
Starting point is 01:01:24 Yeah, yeah. I mean, I don't know. Maybe just you. Okay. You guys want to take some shit someone said out of context? Let's do it. Yeah, let's do it. Jay-Z don't got 30 songs like that.
Starting point is 01:01:35 Okay, so Young Thug recently interviewed on Million Dollars Worth a Game with Gillian Wallow and had a lot to say about a lot of things yeah see niggas never come sit here and do that like when they just got word vomit right like we just be at we had to push it out of pusha t like niggas never come in another thing about that label they've been sucking dick whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa um do you want to hear it yeah sales when you're talking about nothing we're talking about anthems we're talking about songs Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Do you want to hear it? Yeah. We talking about anthems. We talking about songs they know.
Starting point is 01:02:14 Like, when I perform, I got 30, 40 songs that the whole stadium going to know. They going to know these motherfuckers. All 30 songs. Then that's some powerful shit. Yes, sir. There's not a lot of motherfuckers that can say that. Nigga, Jay-Z ain't got 30 songs like that. But you did with the whole stadium for the same. You got a lot of motherfuckers That can say that Nigga Jay-Z ain't got 30 songs like that But you with the whole stadium for the same He got a lot though
Starting point is 01:02:27 Yeah I'm just saying like I know he do He probably got 50 of them bitches I'm just saying He walked that back pretty quick man Yeah Thug realized who he said
Starting point is 01:02:39 It was like Wait Jay-Z Yeah I'm not talking about him I'm just saying like somebody Whoever y'all think is the big dog, like they don't got the joints I got. So I understand. I get it. How are we covering this?
Starting point is 01:02:52 The out of context way or with context? Let's respect the artist. Yeah. Let's keep it in context. Okay. So in context, of course, he was just using Jay-Z as an example of a bigger act who you would assume would have those records that he's up there with them. I know who he was talking about. I won't say it, but I know exactly who Thug was talking about.
Starting point is 01:03:19 Oh, come on. I know who he was talking about. But I wouldn't say that because I'm not that type of guy. I never tried to know who he was talking about until you just said that, and now I may have a name in mind. Yeah, I think I know who he was. I know exactly who he was talking about. Would it possibly be that? Well, I didn't even think that he might be talking about somebody.
Starting point is 01:03:36 No, he's talking about somebody. For real? Absolutely. But why? A New Yorker? No. Oh, okay. Because it's been a talk amongst artists that I've been privy to be in a room and in studios with, and they've said the same thing about this artist.
Starting point is 01:03:51 Okay. Shut up. Absolutely. Well, Thug later went on to say that he would do verses against Wayne. Is that who you're talking about? No. Oh, that's who I thought you were talking about. No.
Starting point is 01:04:05 And I mean, I don't need to say what I think about that. I've already told y'all, when the artists drop who they feel they would want to go against, that's the light they see themselves in. And they got their own little history. It's not my job to say how I think that battle would go. I don't think we'll get it. Right. So I'm not going to waste time there.
Starting point is 01:04:25 And I'm not going to waste time on what I think Young Thug thinks about Hov's catalog. Because I'll be maturing and take him at face value. Thug is very aware of Hov's catalog. He walked it back immediately. Yeah, yeah. Because he wasn't talking about Jay. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:41 You know what I mean? He was just trying to say. It just came out wrong. He was just trying to say, He just came out wrong. He was just trying to say like the artists that are legendary that y'all, you know, are your goats.
Starting point is 01:04:50 They don't have the amount of bangers in the anthems like I do. That's sometimes true. Absolutely. So the person that you think
Starting point is 01:04:59 he's talking about is a legendary person? Yeah, for sure. Absolutely. Do you think that Thug has enough joints to go against whoever you think he's talking about?
Starting point is 01:05:08 In a type of versus type of thing? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. All right, we got to actually... I'd be curious to... I think so.
Starting point is 01:05:18 I think Thug has a lot of versus, a lot of features. Oh, you're not talking about... Not three stacks. No way. No. Oh, okay. No, no, not three stacks. No way. No. Oh, okay. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:05:26 I'm just throwing shit at a wall. And to go back to that, I totally believe that he does not know any Andre 3000 records. Because in speaking to a lot of people from Atlanta, Andre 3000 wasn't as
Starting point is 01:05:40 coveted and as praised in Atlanta by people from Atlanta as he is for people outside of Atlanta. I'm staying out of Atlanta business. No, no, no. This is a real thing. I've heard this before.
Starting point is 01:05:56 Yeah, like a lot of... I can't speak to it. More influence in Atlanta comes from Jeezy, comes from Gucci, than Andre G. This is like honestly and when I was speaking
Starting point is 01:06:07 to somebody about that I said damn I never really looked at it like that and he was like absolutely and I understand it but it's just like
Starting point is 01:06:14 I just didn't understand it coming from Thug because he had to have heard the I don't want to say comparisons to 3000 but
Starting point is 01:06:23 the damn we would love to hear you and 3000 on a joint together. So in hearing that so much in Thug's career, I would think that he would go and just do the, do the knowledge on 3000's catalog. But as far as him saying like he, he didn't, wasn't influenced and he wasn't,
Starting point is 01:06:40 I definitely can understand. I can see him not being influenced. I would find it hard to believe just because of how big of a, it wasn't just like a niche hip-hop phenomenon. Outkast was like a major fucking pop group. Absolutely. Absolutely. I'm pretty sure my young nieces know words to Outkast songs
Starting point is 01:06:58 without being fans necessarily. Right. But I'm just saying in Atlanta, the bigger influence Came from guys like Jeezy and Gucci You know what I mean It didn't come from
Starting point is 01:07:09 And Swag and Nieces Come on don't do that Yeah you know what I mean Yeah give them some Give them some credit Yeah so I understand that But um I'm excited
Starting point is 01:07:16 They're putting this While on Gilead Putting this episode out The full Episode tonight So I'll check it out And hear what else he had
Starting point is 01:07:25 because I'm pretty sure this was the one that this did what they wanted it to do. For sure. That statement, that caption did what it wanted them to do. But it'll be interesting
Starting point is 01:07:34 to hear him go deeper into that. You got to look to hear who else. What if he doesn't? I'm saying it would be interesting to hear it. I'm not saying he will, but it would be interesting
Starting point is 01:07:43 to hear what else was said around that part of the conversation. Yeah. Has Young Thug ever gotten a whole verse? No, I don't believe so. No. So why do we always stop the list at Game and 2 Chainz?
Starting point is 01:07:57 Because they're the only two that have publicly stated that they want a verse that haven't gotten a verse. Yeah. Young Thug has never publicly stated that. And also, he's from a younger generation, so it's not as expected two chains in in in game got it yeah got it all right um all right what else is in music uh jay stone confirms that nipsey has another
Starting point is 01:08:18 album that is definitely happening that was great to hear yeah um well i could have confirmed that one for you yeah that was that was great just just getting confirmation from somebody real confirmation yeah that was just that was just great to hear um and again man it's you know i'm i still you know every time i hear nip and see pictures of him it's still so unbelievable man like it still is like something that you know is just in the back of your mind like damn you know i mean this was this this and we were together when this happened when nipsey passed and it it it on tour yeah it really it really it speaks to someone when you could see people who never met him, how affected they were by his passing.
Starting point is 01:09:05 Like, and I think everyone was really, really bothered by Nipsey's passing. Absolutely. So it's good to hear that more. We'll get more of his work, but we'll hear more of him. I'm sure he has quite a bit in the stash.
Starting point is 01:09:16 Yeah. Yeah. All artists do, honestly. Yeah. Hopefully it's not stuff that he wouldn't have wanted to come out. You know what I mean? But it's just good to have that.
Starting point is 01:09:26 For sure. And it's good to be able to still feel that energy and hear him. And again, man, you know, this is one of our brightest stars, one of our rising legends that we lost way too soon. Yeah. So it's just good to know that we'll get to enjoy a lot more of his work. Yeah. to know that we'll get to uh enjoy a lot more of his work yeah and selfishly i you know uh selfishly i just feel like nip worked enough to where you don't feel like this is something that's just being thrown together oh no off of scraps that were sitting around these are the people that
Starting point is 01:09:57 yeah we're close to him that's why it feels that had intimate conversations that you know business they know they're not going to mishandle this. They're not going to, you know, disrespect his legacy and his art. I think they'll handle it the right way and they'll present it to the people the way he probably would have wanted it to be presented to us. Yeah, I agree. I agree. Same. That's the beauty of being independent and family-based in your business is that you have the right people handling your legacy for sure not some major
Starting point is 01:10:26 label it's out of touch right right just throw a lot of people on your shit yeah no no no and maybe they just gotten a lot better with uh posthumous releases since dead wrong came out like because i really enjoyed pop's album yeah well it's it's it's easier now even when they announced the features i was scared like Like, oh, God. Going to the studio, I mean, you were young enough to be pre-Pro Tools era, or at least at the beginning of Pro Tools era. It was a different thing going to the studio. Like, now people just may record some shit here and there, whatever,
Starting point is 01:10:56 and you got a bunch of shit in the stash. And back then, you went to the studio, recorded the song that you wrote, and then you left. You know what I mean? Like, you weren't just hanging out. You owned a studio. People were creating a lot more than they were wrote, and then you left. You know what I mean? You weren't just hanging out. You owned a studio. People are creating a lot more than they were then and recording a lot more.
Starting point is 01:11:10 Well, hopefully this comes next year sometime. J-Stone has an album out now, so go check that out. Shout out to J-Stone. Shout out J-Stone, all money in. I'm kind of missing touring, I am. Missing what? Touring. Me too, big time. I'm kind of missing touring I am Missing what?
Starting point is 01:11:26 Touring Me too Big time I'm missing the fans The fans are putting up The pictures of A year ago A year ago
Starting point is 01:11:33 A year ago today Oh man I was at the J.B.P. Checking out the guys We miss y'all too man Sure Big time Listen
Starting point is 01:11:43 More on this Thug Wants to battle Wayne i don't think that that will occur but i've been wrong before how do y'all think that plays out wayne is just too many years of records and music it's just way too much more To pull from Way too much more I love Duggo but Yeah I think Wayne's
Starting point is 01:12:07 A lot for anybody to Handle Yeah Just way too many Hot boys ever Early cash money But if you're an artist Do you want to punch up
Starting point is 01:12:18 Or do you want The best match up for you I learned from you Joe You should punch up right Absolutely punch up You punch up You argue up You date up I was punching up, you argue up, you date up, you fuck up. I was punching up. I thought I was hitting niggas I was better than.
Starting point is 01:12:29 Always up. All this time. Damn it. Always up. Always up. If you're going to cheat, cheat up. Come on. Stop.
Starting point is 01:12:35 If you're going to cheat. Stop with this. Yo, stop this. Cheat up. I know you're picking it up because Rory's gone. I'm just saying. No, no, no. Stop this nonsense.
Starting point is 01:12:41 Listen, if you're going to cheat, make sure it's worth it. Niggas don't cheat up. Niggas don't cheat. Niggas don't. And that's how niggas end up in bad positions. You know what I mean? You got this booger wolf leaking your news. A what? A booger wolf.
Starting point is 01:12:56 You know, the chick that you just like, yo, don't let nobody know we be smashing. Like, you trash, but you got a fatty. A booger wolf. You know what I mean? You run around with her. Now she leaking all your text conversations And now Your beautiful queen Is at home Like really Like this is what you doing
Starting point is 01:13:08 Fellas These fucking Possessive women Are Claiming men Faster than ever now Yeah Like there's an epidemic
Starting point is 01:13:18 There's something Going on out there Man Where you talk for A few days Maybe a good Nice weekend Of communication communication and they hit you with this so what we doing and then they tell all their friends that they're dating you yeah
Starting point is 01:13:32 nigga you dating you ain't know no no no that's wrong no no it's not accurate that's wrong that's so not wrong i mean that's so wrong it's not right listen when women find out I'm 39 with no kids, I'm just like prime meat. I'm serious. They're like, wait, no kids? I'm like, nah. They're on you? They want to conquer you. Bro, they be trying to sneak,
Starting point is 01:13:54 pull the rubber off. I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa. They want to complete the project. No, no, no, no. You caught them punching holes through the rubber while you were looking? We not doing that.
Starting point is 01:14:04 Well, that's why I feel like such a high schooler having these talks but i've been thoroughly having to explain hey no you meet somebody that's kicking it it's like the exchange of phone numbers yeah but they're not acknowledging the kickin stage out there today i'm learning i'll keep this brief for uh the adults out there you exchange numbers you're kicking it with somebody you see him a couple of times you enjoy each other you're dating but dating is loose you can date mad people yes that's what dating is but today they've made dating the exclusive term and talking the loose term see for me dating you date whoever you want and then when you've narrowed down your choices that's the person you're talking to now talking is a bit more exclusive there are more rules that come into play this is the precursor to relationship
Starting point is 01:14:56 everyone knows the person you're talking to not you talk because you're talking to mad people and then you date this person it just doesn't make sense to me. But I've been having that argument. But listen, these possessive women are staking claim to men quickly. I'm just warning you men out there for 2021. Be careful. Navigate properly. And I do appreciate the more aggressive vocal women that let you know exactly what they want. I like, I appreciate that.
Starting point is 01:15:25 I hate you monsters and the police. No, I appreciate that. The police need to arrest you. I appreciate that. I need to make, I need to make,
Starting point is 01:15:33 I'm going to start making citizens arrests. No, you got to appreciate when a woman is up front and very forward about what she needs. Oh,
Starting point is 01:15:39 no, that's rapey. No, but why you don't like that? Because if I, if I'm, if, now you're about to make me sound like that guy.
Starting point is 01:15:49 No, I just think it's more... I think it's better for both of us. I'll let you know when I want to fuck or if I want to fuck. Okay. If not, everything could just be cool and calm and collective and passive. You don't have to be so forward. Okay.
Starting point is 01:16:00 You don't have to jump my bones. You don't have to be aggressive. It's annoying. You talking about sexually or just... Any-ally. You don't like an aggressive my bones. You don't have to be aggressive. It's annoying. You talking about sexually or just? Any, any-ally. You don't like an aggressive woman sexually? It depends. It depends.
Starting point is 01:16:11 I don't like it if I'm knocked out sleeping and you just start yanking on my fucking. I don't like you yanking on me at any juncture. No, no. Oh, no. Yank on me like. Then don't yank anything on me. Some girls think they can't break the dick. They can break the dick.
Starting point is 01:16:23 Yeah, no. But yank on me when it's ready though. Don't yank on me when it's preheating though. Like my shit preheating. Don't yank anything on me. Some girls think they can't break the dick. They can break the dick. Yeah, no, but yank on me when it's ready, though. Don't yank on me when it's preheating, though. Like, my shit preheating. Don't yank on my shit. Yeah, no, I kind of just want to be left alone until we both have established what we're trying to do. But I'm talking about the women that are up front
Starting point is 01:16:36 about what they want from the situation. Well, that's a lot of them now. Yeah, but I'm just saying I respect that because that is a conversation. Yo, how tall are you and do you got monies? Are you six foot six and do you have the monies? That is a, yeah. They're pretty direct about it now.
Starting point is 01:16:52 No, I absolutely respect that. But it's hand in hand, direct conversation, direct deposit. And they think they be hurting my feelings. How tall are you, Joe? Six, one. Nah, you looking five, ten-ish. Shut up. Is she five, three?
Starting point is 01:17:07 Yeah. She's five, three. You looking five3", and you're looking 5'10". Bitch. Yeah, I know. I know a 5'7", nigga. Broke your heart last year. You was in shambles. 5'7", nigga. Rocked your whole world. Fuck is you talking about with this app? Alright, so yeah, I do think that Wayne
Starting point is 01:17:23 would get the best of Young Thug. Of course, that's no disrespect to Thug. Of course. That's how I feel. Yeah, I agree. Yeah, I'm with you on that. Love Thug. Huge fan.
Starting point is 01:17:32 But it's just too much catalog to pull from. Do we need to get into this? There's a clip circulating. I'm not sure where it's from, but it's Charlamagne talking about the Drake era and whether we're in it or not still. I got it. talking about the drake era and whether we're in it or not still i got it i don't know how old or recent the clip is but let's play it anyway no it's recent because wayno said i just don't know what what drake has given us so much music that i don't know if he has another gear
Starting point is 01:17:56 you know what i'm saying like we know we know kendrick has another gear he shows us that with every project drake has given us so much i don't know if he has another gear so therefore i'm not looking forward to anything let me ask y'all a question are we still in the drake era are is radio um such such such such a prehistoric form of of of medium is radio such a prehistoric form of media that it hasn't changed the temperature to what's actually going on out here in these streets i think that radio is a prehistoric form i've thought that for some time now yeah i won't kill him i won't kill him like the net like the internet is if i try to understand what he's saying i think i could see his point in there even though I disagree with it yeah I don't think um I think he's talking about that era where the term the Drake stimulus package existed
Starting point is 01:18:51 we're like artists were going to Drake for that package to kind of home run or jumpstart their career to the right start we've seen it in the verses yeah we've seen it we've seen it uh you know when you could get a feature from Drake and it would kind of help your radio position or your position on the chart. Like, I think he means that era, the era of, hey, you kind of had to align with Drake to be able to coexist with Drake. I think he's saying now you can coexist with Drake
Starting point is 01:19:21 and not align with him necessarily or not be with him or go through him or you can just do it on your own. His position is not stopping anyone else from existing. That's what I think he was saying. Okay. Okay. I don't think that was ever a thing. I don't think Drake was ever stopping anyone from existing or.
Starting point is 01:19:42 Just Joe. I think the stimulus. Well, no, man, we disagree there because it's only we was naming the names off air. anyone from existing or just joe i think the stimulus well no me and maude we disagreed here because it's only we was naming the names off air it ain't but 10 niggas that was existing peacefully when drake was in the midst of his run it was 10 of them i feel like at any moment in time there was 10 10 dudes though yeah and yeah but you know how many dudes there aren't that's the that's the point but yeah but Joe, everybody can't be top tier though. There are tiers.
Starting point is 01:20:07 There's tiers in the music industry. You can exist here and then there's the ones that exist here. Like Drake is here. There's different lanes. Everybody else can eat here but then when he drops, it's still the same impact though
Starting point is 01:20:18 and it's still a such thing as the Drake stimulus. If you do want a verse from Drake. I do think Drake has another gear, potentially. He's shifted gears.
Starting point is 01:20:27 I'm never going to say that. Yeah, I'm never going to say it. He still hasn't given us a real full R&B project yet. Or a real full rap project. Exactly. So those are two gears right there we're talking about.
Starting point is 01:20:37 I mean, yes, this is still, the Drake era is not over. He's still top three biggest artists in the world. He was still named on a lot of lists he probably had one of the
Starting point is 01:20:47 top selling albums this year and it was an outtakes album it was a B-Sides I am but it is good to see other artists grow and
Starting point is 01:20:56 you know because Drake didn't really he wasn't we talked about it don't put over and my name in the same sentence at all
Starting point is 01:21:03 when my B-Sides sell more than albums right and that's that's the problem is the drake era over no it's this is don't put over nowhere near nothing i'm doing while i'm still present unless it's the song over right yeah right then you're good no he's drake is very much still this is his era yeah and i can't wait to see what happens with his project in January. Yeah, me too. I want to see what it does. I want to see what it sounds like. I've said that. I'm waiting. And I'm waiting to see what the next era might be. Not for nothing.
Starting point is 01:21:33 You don't think we already started seeing it with Roddy and Baby? Sure. But we'll see. You know, you gotta wait and see at least a couple years of it before we can fully declare it someone else's era. But there's definitely a bunch of people who promised to Meg would be in that conversation, too. A lot of the females.
Starting point is 01:21:51 Cardi, if she continues putting out music. Cardi settled her lawsuit with her previous manager. Oh, that's good news. Yes, let me hit the round of applause for queen cardi i'm sure that was in the way of us receiving any music yeah that's a good point and i'm seeing some reports that say that she's still negotiating that new contract with atlantic i don't know that to be true or false but i could see all these things playing a part in why we haven't received music from cardi yeah for sure because you don't want to sign a big deal and then your old manager who be true or false, but I could see all these things playing a part in why we haven't received music from Cardi.
Starting point is 01:22:26 Yeah, for sure, because you don't want to sign a big deal and then your old manager who you dislike gets a chunk of it that you're not willing to give up, at least. Yeah. I don't know what the terms were with their settlement. Yeah, and they're not going to tell us. No. Let's see. Cardi filed a $30 million countersuit on April 2018.
Starting point is 01:22:42 Raphael sued Cardi for $10 million, claiming that he had been frozen out of her career. He alleged that he discovered Cardi and played an integral part in developing her music career and public image. We've seen a lot of that from past managers. The following July, Cardi filed a $30 million countersuit, claiming that Shaft put barriers between Cardi and the people close to her in an effort to maintain complete control over her and dictated who she should and should not see romantically.
Starting point is 01:23:11 He called Shaft deceitful and disloyal and self-serving and controlling. Either way, I'm glad they worked this out. Yeah. And I'm getting this from Pitchfork. Shout out to Pitchfork. And shout out to Cardi. Great news. Yeah, Bronx finest.
Starting point is 01:23:25 What else is out there that's super important? Is there a Playboi Carti album dropping? It dropped Friday. What did it drop already? It dropped. Whatever happened, I hope that Iggy Azalea is all right. I hope both of them are all right. That's my take.
Starting point is 01:23:42 Well, he's never appeared to not be all right. So I don't have a reason to say are alright That's my take Well he's never He's never appeared To not be alright So I don't have a reason To say that That's true Iggy Azalea Has been just commenting On Stuff with him

Starting point is 01:24:08 It could go different. It could go different. We don't have to do this. But I understand, I do understand tempers flaring and emotions getting high. Not tempers, but just emotions when you're that invested. Yeah, niggas get online and start blurting shit out. Like she was blurting shit out She took it back

Starting point is 01:25:10 That's amazing. And that's big. Congratulations. Congratulations to him. And Dirk dropped. Yep. Shout out to Dirk. Special drop.
Starting point is 01:25:18 The voice. This was a good project. Some joints on that light. Dirk had a great year, man. Yeah. Dirk had a really, really good year. Dirk had a great year. Yeah. Unless somebody wants to do something on a Wednesday or Thursday. Yeah, I think it would have to be. Yeah, it would have to be. Yeah. Unless somebody wants to do something on a Wednesday or Thursday.

Starting point is 01:26:12 to buy Reebok for 2.4 billion dollars that's amazing big business Adidas bought Reebok in 2005 in an attempt to compete with Nike in the US
Starting point is 01:26:22 but expectations were not met now they're looking to sell. Sportswear brand has a pair of serious potential buyers and rapper and businessman Percy Miller and former NBA All-Star Baron Davis. Baron Davis, who names just pops up in all of this techie stuff all over the place.
Starting point is 01:26:38 Yeah, BD, he always got his hands in a lot of business. He's got a lot going on. That's dope. Shout out to BD. Shout out to Master P. I hope this gets done. That would be dope. We were just singing his praises when they did the, what's the BET doc they did on him?
Starting point is 01:26:51 I don't remember what it was called. It was a great series. But how he did everything. He was doing porn hotlines and selling hot fries and shit. Like, he did everything. And he had sneakers before, too, so. Yeah. This is a new form.
Starting point is 01:27:03 But that's a major. This is a major. Do you know Master P can't wait to get his hands on that Reebok thing? Oh, yeah. That would be amazing. They still go open up the old No Limit Design Factory. Yeah. You remember those sneakers they called ugly?
Starting point is 01:27:19 Bring them back. Get the graphic designer on the line. Tell him we're back. Yeah. Big business. That's huge. That's huge. Yeah, I could see that going real well.
Starting point is 01:27:29 But see what I mean? Just different conversations, different faces at the table, different owners, different ideas. Yes, you can team up with the rappers. It's safe. Right. Again, hip-hop culture. You can get with the retired rappers. Especially when the rappers got a lot of money.
Starting point is 01:27:45 Yeah. He'll make it happen. If there's one thing Master P is going to do is make it happen. I see what you did there. Congratulations to Master P and Baron Davis.
Starting point is 01:27:58 Yeah, let's hope this deal gets done. Speaking of athletes, what's up, man? You think I owe Julius an apology? Let me call Julius, man. Let me see if you're answering. You think I owe him? Probably not, man's up, man? You think I owe Julius an apology? Let me call Julius, man. Let me see if you're answering.
Starting point is 01:28:07 You think I owe him? Probably not, man. Yeah, man. You owe him an apology. He's probably somewhere doing Julius things. 25 and 15. On Greek. Quadruple duffel.
Starting point is 01:28:16 Yeah, yeah. Because I didn't like the way y'all was talking about my boy, man. He must have heard the pod, man. Yeah, man. I ain't like that shit, man. I saw that game. Actually, I didn't see the game. I saw the tweets first. They was like, yo, actually, I didn't see the game. I saw the tweets first.
Starting point is 01:28:25 They was like, yo, you might want to turn on the game. Julia's bugging. Yeah. Then I saw that, yo, the Knicks up 30 on the Bucs. And then I said, oh, man, Julia's going crazy while Obi out, man. Yo. Look at my boy in the locker room ready, huh? Locked in.
Starting point is 01:28:42 Huh? Locked in. Yo, somebody want to, somebody want to apologize, man. Oh, man, man, man.
Starting point is 01:28:47 No, we're going to wait. We're going to have this, we're going to have this conversation, man. No, no, no,
Starting point is 01:28:51 no, no. We're going to have this conversation. I'm so phony, man. Yo, you killing him. Greek who?
Starting point is 01:28:59 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, we're going to have a conversation. Listen,

Starting point is 01:29:16 Y'all was talking about my boy He went crazy man Yeah I told y'all man Just give him You know what I mean Let things settle in He gonna be alright Why he work crazy like that
Starting point is 01:29:23 Julie's been working, man. That whole, you know, the Knicks didn't go to the playoffs. Obviously, they weren't in the bubble. So, he was working out the whole time. Like, you know, they had all that time off. And he was really working. But I'm just happy that it's coming together for him. Because he's a talent, man.
Starting point is 01:29:37 It's a few pieces missing from the Knicks. I wish they would give him a point guard that could shoot. He just need a point guard that could shoot. Space the floor a little bit. But, yeah, man, he hooping. Well, you don't think Elfriede Payton is getting it done? Don't diss him. No, no, I like him.
Starting point is 01:29:53 Just need more consistency. That's all. Got it. More consistency. Got it. Listen, there's been a whole lot of you fucking. Listen, I think that that little wine bar in the Barclays is cool too. I keep saying it.
Starting point is 01:30:06 Listen, sometimes I was there at the Barclays for Dwayne Wade's last game when Carmelo took the fake shot. I was hungry in the second half. I went out. They had a whole little kitchen kitchen area. Food was great. I understand how the allure of the Barclays is making y'all get into your Nets to the Finals Nets championship bag. They look pretty good. But boy, have I been bumping into a lot of y'all. And I sound like a hater.
Starting point is 01:30:38 Yeah. Well, y'all think I'm a hater. But I've been bumping into a lot of y'all that are on this bandwagon. Yeah. A lot of people got fed up with the Knicks and shifted bronze. My dad keeps telling me about the, well, my dad was a, I was a Nets fan when they was in the ABA. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:55 That's a good one. He's serving me up. Yeah, that's a good one. He's serving me up. You ever seen the red and white ball? He's telling me the Nets bench is like the star of the Nets deepest team in the league, all this shit. Yeah. Well. He said so much shit I had to go Google the Nets bench is like the starliest, deepest team in the league. All this shit. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:05 Well. He said so much shit I had to go Google the Nets bench. You know what I found on that fucking bench? What'd you find? Jeff Green. He's a baller. That's a few. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:31:15 Don't stop there. Jeff Green is serviceable. Yeah. Karras Levert. Stop, stop. Don't give me the good names first. I mean. Let me do my list.
Starting point is 01:31:22 You want to start with the bad names. Let me do my list. My way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. The 15th man. They gave me. my list. Let me do my list. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The 15th, man. They gave me, who did I just name? Jared Allen.
Starting point is 01:31:30 No, no, no, no. Who did I just, just, just? Oh, Jeff Green they gave me. Serviceable. Yeah. They gave me Jared Allen. Wanted to pump that up. I see what you did there.
Starting point is 01:31:40 Jared Allen's all right. I don't know why you don't say that. He all right. Alter a lot of shots at the paint. Yeah, finishes. Make you have to double pump the layup. Finishes at the rim, yeah. Got it.
Starting point is 01:31:51 Yeah. Hey, then they told me about some guy named T. Prince. Torian Prince? And I was like, yo, they got Tyshawn Prince? And they was like, nah, nah, it's Torian. Torian Prince, yeah. Oh. Yeah, all right. Torian Prince, yeah. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:07 Torian Prince is all right. Like, what you want on the bench? Deadly bench. You want all-stars on the bench? Whoa. Yeah. Killer bench. How will the league survive?
Starting point is 01:32:17 Nah, but name the rest of the bench. Don't do that. All right, then they told me about Karis LeVert. OK. Who's official and solid. Yeah. Shemit, solid. Yeah. Like him. Yeah. told me about carrots lavert okay who's a fish you in solid yeah uh shemit solid like them yeah then they told me about tempeh luwawa carrots and peas cap cabero carrots and corn what not sorry buddy yeah tyler johnson there's some pieces on the bench reggie perry
Starting point is 01:32:43 rionendis kar Karrouks. Sorry, buddy. I'm sorry. So I bring all this up to say Spencer Dinwiddie goes down. Tragic injury. He's gone for the year. Tragic, tragic. One of my favorite people.
Starting point is 01:32:55 I fuck with him in speedy recovery. And this is fucked up because I was talking shit, but I did want to see the Nets at full strength and see what they could do. But now that this has occurred, does this change anything for you bark layers? A little bit. Spencer going down? It changes some things. Because when I spoke to my dad,
Starting point is 01:33:13 he lost that whole deepest bench in the league tone that he had in his voice the day before. That Spencer Dent injury hurt the Nets. It definitely did. But they still have a squad. Yeah, they still have two of the best players at their position. Karras, Levert, Schmidt. The Nets are all right, man.
Starting point is 01:33:31 They got a nice squad. They got a nice team. They do. They got a real nice team. They do. And I think they'll – I mean, obviously, they're a top – talent-wise, a top four, three team in the East. When you tell them you got Katie and Kyrie.
Starting point is 01:33:44 I mean talent wise They might be number one Yeah talent wise Yeah right there So I mean I think they'll be alright They'll be alright
Starting point is 01:33:51 But the Spencer Dinwiddie injury Definitely hurt Their Rotation It definitely hurt Their plans For sure Uh
Starting point is 01:33:58 Uh Yeah yeah yeah yeah Uh Miami Uh Uh South Beach Bringing the heat' the heat, uh Sorry, I didn't mean to play a song that was representin' the Eastern Conference champs
Starting point is 01:34:11 Team that actually went to the finals I thought you were talkin' about the Dolphins No, no, let Will cook, let Will cook Oh, and the Dolphins, look at y'all Y'all not in yet, right? No, but Then shut up Need a rest to spill, me and Charlie at the bar at y'all. Y'all not in yet, right? No, but. Shut up.
Starting point is 01:34:26 I need a rest to spill. Me and Charlie at the bar running up a hotbed. I'm Tyler Hero. Real steppers. Duncan Robinson. Huh? Yeah. A.B. Bradley is over there. This is not a sports podcast, y'all.
Starting point is 01:34:39 It's not a sports podcast. No, not at all. Chris Nunn still there. Drogic and numb. I like him. Come on, man. What are we doing? Miami, they're going to be right there again.
Starting point is 01:34:49 I don't know about the finals, but they'll be right there. I don't think the Nets can beat up Miami. That's my hot basketball take. Put me on the record. I'm still riding the Miami bandwagon. I'm here. What else is really important in sports? I got my Julius apology out the way
Starting point is 01:35:07 uh i got my bold miami take out of the way haskins duane haskins hurts to see it hurts to see it hurts to see it makes me look even dumber uh with my disbelief that the giants picked daniel jones and that clip that Bleacher Report will not stop clipping of me. Bleacher Report really likes that clip. Shout out to Bleacher Report. But yeah, I had a lot of dismay because we went with Danny Dimes instead of Dwayne Haskins and boy was I wrong.
Starting point is 01:35:36 Danny Dimes doesn't look that bad. Boy was I wrong. Yes, it's... Dwayne Haskins just looked like shit. He did. He didn't look good and then he was wild Off the field He made it easy For them to let him go Yeah
Starting point is 01:35:49 Because you can not be playing well But if you still Your character And you're working hard Teams will keep you around For sure If there's someone that you want In the locker room
Starting point is 01:35:58 You'll find a job Yeah What he was doing He was partying with the hoes Without his mask on I think that's what it was Yeah Which is some bullshit Kind of But at the same time Yeah but he deserved it Yeah. What he was doing, he was partying with the hoes? I think so. Without his mask on? I think that's what it was, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:05 Which is some bullshit, kind of, but at the same time. Yeah, but he deserved it. I think in the picture I saw, he made all the hoes wear a T-shirt with his jersey number on it. That's swag. They were wearing numbers. You're fired. Yo, put my jersey on. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:36:22 I'm sorry, buddy. Complete some passes first, at least. Yeah, sorry. Yo, putting your jersey on all the, yeah. I'm sorry, buddy. Complete some passes first, at least. Yeah, sorry. Yo, putting your jersey on all the hoes in the spot is... Yo, put this on. Especially if the numbers ain't there. Get your shit off, man. The funny shit about this is you should have felt super good with your job security when the dude behind you is coming off 19 leg surgeries.
Starting point is 01:36:45 Yeah. Like, you should have been able to secure this job. Yeah. This was your gig to have. In the worst division in the world. Yeah. Yeah. Now, again, I know the organization probably didn't really fuck with him.
Starting point is 01:36:57 I remember those stories that came out at draft time. Yeah, no doubt. Yeah, that there was some disputes about the way they wanted to go. But you can't stink it up like that. You can't do that. And let me not say that because Geno Smith still has a backup job. But he had some moments where he flashed. That's what's left of my sex life,
Starting point is 01:37:14 moments where I flash. You have a little window right there you see. Yeah, a little spurt. So what you used to be. A little spurt of where I'm serving him up. Yeah, yeah. You know you trash when you give it a forgive me dick and she don't forgive. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:31 She keeps saying she can't. You all right back there, huh? Gave her the forgive me dick. She's still holding a grudge. Yeah, yeah. It's like, oh, shit, man. She needs to work. She feels even more strongly convicted in whatever the fuck you did.
Starting point is 01:37:46 Oh, no. If it goes up afterwards, that's bad. Yeah. Yeah, I'm at the age where I think I just lost the forgive me dick. Yeah. Fuck. Sorry, buddy. It's fine.
Starting point is 01:37:55 I probably still don't have it anymore. I'm rich. Yeah. Fuck it. I got different ways to forgive. So come work for me. Come better your life. You got any content?
Starting point is 01:38:07 Hey, look, Savon want to hit that level so bad. Savon want to call him up and say, yo, just come work for me. That nigga would call his ex so fast. Hey, that game be expensive. Maybe you really want to get paid. Watch yourself. Watch yourself out there. All right, what else needs to be said?
Starting point is 01:38:28 Yo, man, fuck. Hold up, hold up, hold up, man. Hold up. Hard. We just be wrong about shit, and I'm the only one that want to come in here and talk about it. What was he talking about? How do I?
Starting point is 01:38:40 Is Mike passed? Yeah, man. That's what this song mean. Come on, man. They killed Kofi Jones. Oh, Yeah, man. That's what this song mean. Come on, man. They killed Kofi Jones. Oh, man, yeah. Yeah, we thought Kofi was going to get a shake. Man, what the fuck did Kofi get himself?
Starting point is 01:38:54 Why the hell did you go in there? Should have stayed in the mess hole, buddy. He was going to get his negotiation off. Oh, my God, man. Hey, spoiler alert. Spoiler alert. We're talking about our one of our favorite shows in recent weeks your honor and last week we got hype kofi kofi got us hype yeah he walked in the cell like he was ready to get it shaken with with fake chet hanks
Starting point is 01:39:19 yeah chet hanks that's not chet h. And then he died. They didn't even make a drama out of it. Not at all. They didn't even show the fight. That's how bad it was. The show came on. They were zipping Kofi up. I was like, wait, whoa, whoa, whoa. I was like, whoa.
Starting point is 01:39:36 Whoa. What happened to Kofi? Yo, I hate rewind. Yeah, I'm like, yo, they zipping him up on the intro? Like, nah, man. Don't zip Kofi up like that. Then I'd see them like, damn, maybe somebody else died in the jail. Yeah, I'm like, yo, they zipping him up on the intro? Like, nah, man. Don't zip Kofi up like that. Then I seen him like, damn, maybe somebody else died in the jail. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:48 I'm like, yo, they both killed each other? They can't be that real with it. Yeah. Yeah. Like, they both killed each other? No, Maul. I thought they got it on and they were like, fuck it, we both killed each other in the cell. Like, that was crazy, man.
Starting point is 01:40:00 No, what happened was Kofi got his brain split in two. Yeah, yeah. Brain contusions. Yeah, he got the best of Kofi got his brain split in two. Yeah, yeah. Brain contusions. Yeah, he got the best of Kofi. Battered skull. Yeah. Hey, even the dude that was supposed to lie about the report was like, fam, what do you want me to do?
Starting point is 01:40:12 It's like the medical examiner was like, bro, he got it. His head is bashed in. Yeah, like, what do you want me to do? All right, it was indecisive. All right. Man, Kofi, man. Old Kofi's out of there. All right, Pima got Kofi, man.
Starting point is 01:40:24 What did y'all think about the episode over auto? Y'all liked it? Great. Yeah. It was great, man. They're crushing. out of there. R.P. My guy Kof, man. What y'all think about the episode of Roto? Y'all liked it? Great. Yeah. It was great, man. They're crushing. Yeah. I love it.
Starting point is 01:40:29 They're making me feel like such an idiot for being so heavy on undoing. Do y'all feel like this is going to be something that's around for a couple years?
Starting point is 01:40:36 I think it's a mini-series, right? Has to be. They can't end this after 10 or 11. No. I don't even care if it ends bad.
Starting point is 01:40:43 They can't end this after the 10th episode. I agree. I agree. Let's see. The miniseries is the wave now. We might only be getting a mini. Yeah, but there's so many ways this story can go and grow.
Starting point is 01:40:54 And they're exploring all of them. Yeah. It's moving, though. There'll be a loophole every single time. It's not dragging. It's like, oh, damn, now. That's what I like about this. It's not dragging at all.
Starting point is 01:41:03 Now the grandma's involved. And now the grandma knows the mayor. And oh, fuck, now. That's what I like about this. It's not dragging at all. Now the grandma's involved, and now the grandma knows the mayor, and oh, fuck. Right. Everyone's entangled. Fam, I don't know what your honor's doing. That whole little dinner with grandma and the investigator and my protege lawyer who wants to crack this case. Hey, fam.
Starting point is 01:41:19 And wants me to crack her case. Yeah, dinner's over now. Right. That's the end of dinner. Everybody head home. All right, y'all. Yeah. Will you put your coat? Yeah. Yeah, dinner's over now. Right. That's the end of dinner. Everybody head home. All right, y'all. Yeah. Will you put your coat?
Starting point is 01:41:27 Yeah. Yeah, these niggas is crazy, but for the sake of the show. Once Kofi died, I was like, well, okay, the dude that pled guilty is dead now, and that should be the end of...
Starting point is 01:41:37 But that one cop, she's a digger. Yeah. She's a digger. And the mom, the grandma. Yeah, yeah. The grandma wants to help with the car.
Starting point is 01:41:46 Oh, man. She's getting sticky. Yeah. Then they blew up the house. Oh, yeah. She got crazy. We're just telling the whole episode, so if you haven't seen it, be sure to fast forward through this entire little tidbit.
Starting point is 01:41:59 The main mob boss is such a good actor, too. There's a lot of good acting, but he's killing it. When he got up from the table mad, you could see the anger. He was drunk walking because he was so mad. That was good. It's a great show. They're crushing this, man. Every Sunday, 10 p.m. or Saturday night if you have the Showtime app.
Starting point is 01:42:17 I drop Saturday night? Yeah. If you have the Showtime app. I do. There's a few people telling me that I might have missed the ball on the PowerBook thing and I should go back and watch it. It's actually not bad. It's not bad. Yo, the people are trying to sell me on that, man. They're telling me that I might have missed the ball on the PowerBook thing and I should go back and watch it. It's actually not bad. It's not bad.
Starting point is 01:42:25 Yo, the people are trying to sell me on that, man. They're telling me I need to go watch it. Let me be clear. It's not good. It wasn't good, the little bit I saw. But it's not bad. I just, I watched. That was bad.
Starting point is 01:42:35 That was pretty bad. I watched some of the episode and I just can't get into Tariq selling dope on campus with Travis Scott's on. It's just like, all right, fam. What are we doing? With Rory. It was tough for me. What are we doing? With Rory. It was tough for me. What are we doing?
Starting point is 01:42:47 His partner. It was tough for me, too, after seeing Ghost run a club, a laundromat. I mean, listen, it's still terrible. And kill people. But it's still entertaining, I guess. It's good terror, though. Yeah. It's good terror.
Starting point is 01:42:58 It's entertaining. There's a lot of really bad acting still. There's like a professor dude that's just really bad. There's a lot of bad shit going on yeah but if i just got time to waste on certain shows like there's other shows that i need to watch like i still have never seen mr robot i i just got uh i buckled i'm an amazon guy when someone else is logging but i installed the app yeah yeah so i'm gonna i'm gonna watch i told you they got joints on there. I know. I know they do.
Starting point is 01:43:27 It's a show you was pumping that I didn't start. Fargo. I got to start that. I didn't see Fargo. Well, you said you're not going back to Tenet? I'm going to go back to it. I just have to be really focused. I can't be looking at my phone. You can't watch anything else when that movie is on.
Starting point is 01:43:42 And that's what it was. That's what it was. I was like, all right. I put it on about seven times thinking I could do other things and was totally lost. Okay, I got you. But the eighth time when I just watched the movie, I couldn't believe that they was doing all of this shit. All right. I like it when the movie makes you put down the phone, though.
Starting point is 01:43:58 Sometimes it's like, that's my gauge. Like, does this make me put this down? So you just have to Lock in That's what it is I guess so With Tenet Did you see Tenet I didn't see it
Starting point is 01:44:08 Okay okay But Soul I started off on the phone That shit locked me in Okay That shit locked me in I'm going to watch Tenet again Because I like
Starting point is 01:44:14 I don't want to say Denzel's son I want to say his name But I like Denzel's son I like him Don't call him that John David John David
Starting point is 01:44:24 Sorry Denzel's son Because he acts well enough To not be called Denzel's son. I like him. Don't call him that. John David. John David. Sorry. Denzel's son. Because he acts well enough to not be called Denzel's son. I fuck with him. I like him a lot. He's really good. I like him a lot. He's a good actor.
Starting point is 01:44:32 And he's writing his own story. No, I like him. I support him. Absolutely. Yeah, I would hate to be great at what I did and dudes still call me like my dad's kid. No, fuck my dad. I don't give a fuck about my dad, all right? I'm killing him out here if you want me to talk about him. No, you're not. No, fuck my dad. I don't give a fuck about my dad, all right? I'm killing him out here
Starting point is 01:44:46 if you want me to talk about him. No, you're not. No, not him with Denzel. Okay, okay, okay. I'm just saying in that instance. No, he's dope, though. I like John David.
Starting point is 01:44:53 I like him a lot. Yeah, he's dope. So I'm a lock-in on Tenet, though. It just was like I was just looking at the phone and doing shit, answering the phone and I look up
Starting point is 01:45:02 and it's like, all right, fam, what? I still didn't finish Mindhunters on Netflix. I still stand by listen i still stand by i don't see shit on netflix i know somebody hit me talking about well what just because they don't have the murder mysteries that you love it doesn't mean they're not spending money on mad entertainment you just might not be entertained by it shut up yeah shut up i don't care about what you're saying i'm sure there'll be more murder mysteries i'm sure they'll be back. More murder mysteries. I'm sure they'll be back.
Starting point is 01:45:25 Yeah. And then we have Snowfall in February. Yeah. Can't wait. Oh, my God. Can't wait. Best show on TV. Can't wait for that.
Starting point is 01:45:34 I got to get booed up like Ella Mai for some of this stuff. I'm not going to watch Snowfall just single in bed alone. No, Snowfall's a good solo mission. It is. It is. No, Snowfall's a good solo mission. It is. It is.
Starting point is 01:45:50 Snowball is February 28th. Somewhere at the end of February. 24th, yeah. That means the Super Bowl will have come and gone. Do you know how sad you guys, well, do y'all don't feel that sadness when the Super Bowl ends? I already am starting to feel it because I know, like, now we have Saturday and Sunday games. I'm like, I know what happens next.
Starting point is 01:46:04 You know what's next. You know what's next. You know what's coming next and it's going to be a sad, dark day. Yeah. Yeah, but snowfall. You're going to want someone to hold you
Starting point is 01:46:11 or be the big spoon. Yeah. Sundays are going to be quiet. Franklin, what do I do? You know, I can't wait for this. What else is going on
Starting point is 01:46:22 that is super important that we have to get to? Wow, Rome is at two hours? Wow. Yeah. I didn't realize that Kanye West released an album. I thought that was kind of interesting. Yeah, you said that earlier.
Starting point is 01:46:32 You said that. I had no idea. A Sunday service choir, a manual EP inspired by ancient and Latin music. But this is the least I think I heard a Kanye project talk about ever. So he put out a sunday choir album and still hasn't paid the choir okay get your shit off yeah okay and i'm not paying them neither yeah hit the note the album is out already i got it yeah you do what you want with your stems right i can't even find this shit i just saw the articles i think it's spotify only maybe or
Starting point is 01:47:04 something i don't know is it a Christmas gospel album? Maybe that's why I believe it was Oh okay Okay okay But still That's y'all That be pumping up
Starting point is 01:47:12 The Christmas album How'd your Christmas album do? Really well Good? Really well yeah Hey let me get A round of applause man Thank you to all the
Starting point is 01:47:19 Supporters Dope It was fun man Good It was fun man Did well Would you do Something you would do again?
Starting point is 01:47:23 Yeah absolutely I was listening alright well Valentine's Day come and go go ahead and get to rapping you want me to get to rapping no I mean y'all a Valentine's Day album
Starting point is 01:47:32 oh then we this would be our third if we get it done in time it's hard coming right back after Christmas and doing the third one yeah but we're gonna try
Starting point is 01:47:40 got it he got some bars yeah he's done I checked it out he got some I didn't know yeah elite elite tone as well his voice is crazy it flow bars all of it yeah he reminds me of like the dope 90s rappers his tone okay i like that yeah before we leave football well we left football
Starting point is 01:48:00 already but i want to circle back to that because Because I have a new winner for the man award. That's a man. Ryan Fitzpatrick. That's a stud. It's not my winner, but he can be your winner. He's my winner. Did you see that shit he did Saturday? No, what'd he do?
Starting point is 01:48:20 He got his neck broke. And banged a 40-yard reception and won the game. Oh, I saw that. Yeah, yeah. That was unbelievable. That was unbelievable. That was unbelievable. I was losing my shit. He is a man for that. Yeah. Oh my God. That's a great, that's a great pass. That was crazy. He's great. But no, he's not the winner of my that's a man award.'m i'm gonna give it to uh the old guy in washington chase young man he's a man he's a man he's a man yeah they said he was gonna be a man when i saw the clips i didn't believe it when i saw the clips of him in college and he was getting triple teamed and beating the triple team i was like oh no well i knew he would be a man because i saw those clips
Starting point is 01:49:02 too but i guess when they were saying he's better than both the Bosa's combined, I was like, all right. One of them Bosa's is really, really good. Both of them were really good, actually. Might be a racist fuck, but he's great at football. Yeah. And, yeah, this kid is good, man. Chase Young is a man.
Starting point is 01:49:18 Chase Young is a man. He's a dog. You saw him return the touchdown. Was it last week or two weeks ago? Yep. So the Giants get in the playoffs if we beat Dallas and the Redskins lose. But I really do want to see the Redskins in the playoffs. I mean, they're not called that.
Starting point is 01:49:34 My apologies. The Washington football team in the playoffs. Because they can win. They'll make it difficult for somebody. Who is the quarterback now? Alex Smith. Alex Smith is the quarterback now? Alex Smith. Alex Smith is going to start. Alex Smith that was with Frisco a few years ago?
Starting point is 01:49:48 Yeah. And Casey. Killing. Same Alex Smith. No turnovers. Managing the game. They look like they might be in a good position right now. They're better than a 6-8 team.
Starting point is 01:49:59 A little bit, yeah. They just had a slow start. Yeah. But they got some weapons. They're building. But yeah, we Dolphins get in if we win or if the Colts, Ravens, or Browns lose. That's a lot. No, three teams lose or we win.
Starting point is 01:50:17 Buffalo is our opponent, though, so that's tough. Oh, man. Buffalo. Yeah, but I still want to see Miami against Buffalo, too. Yeah, it's going to be a great game. I want to see a playoff. It's going to be a good playoff. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 01:50:26 Is there anything else in sports that we might be missing? Julius Apology, Dolphins dick riding, my man awards, those have been given out. Patrick Mahomes is still alive and breathing, so we know what that means. That's all I got in sports. Well, let me just make sure here. I can't believe that I'm experiencing this like in real time, y'all.
Starting point is 01:50:50 Mall is changing right before my very eyes. And I knew it with the fancy feets and the outfits. The fancy feets. I knew it with the new stylist. The next step was coming. I knew the stylist vibes. That shit was bound to change. We talking about New Year's Eve.

He was talking about the hotels is a pretty good rate. I said, fam, save your money. We take it back to the old days. Yeah. Give you the living room couch.
Starting point is 01:51:30 Rock out. That's you. Those days are over. Maul said it's over. And I cannot believe the elitism. Yeah, nah. That's what that's called, right? The classism.
Starting point is 01:51:41 Yeah, absolutely. Can't put Maul on the couch these days. Well, why Maul can't Maul said he can't do it Cause he gotta be active He gotta He gotta leave room For some activity

I'm like, I don't know about Maul in the living room, man. Maul leveled up out the living room thrashing. I don't know, man.
Starting point is 01:52:34 Plenty of living room pillows got thrown out of place. Living room thrashing is hilarious, bro. Damn, where is the remote? Yeah, who knows? Can't find it when the Thrasher was around. My name's Herb. We don't know. Might be lost forever.
Starting point is 01:52:51 Yeah. All right, go. Rest in peace to the Thrasher, man. It's over for that, man. It is hard to get busy in the living room these days. It's over, man. Come on, man. Can't do that no more.
Starting point is 01:52:59 We're not living like that no more. It's over. Yeah, I'm a bad sex guy now. Yeah. Hard to get me to venture out of the bed. And I think I'm the walk around naked guy too now. Oh, big time. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:53:12 I just got on that wave. Maybe two years ago. My favorite time is when I'm brushing my teeth. It's a very weird time to walk around the house naked, but yeah, I take a little stroll. Yeah. You have to though, man. When I used to live with y'all niggas, I was killing y'all the bitches.
Starting point is 01:53:27 Yeah, I want to walk around naked right now. But I can't. The mall's in the living room thrashing, man. Yeah. Damn, what was I about to say? What were you just talking about? Thrashing? No, thrashing is over with.
Starting point is 01:53:41 You know, that's over with. Fine. Nah. Gotta grow up sometime, man. fine man gotta grow up sometime i guess you do yeah i had two months to get the new year's orgy popping and it just didn't pan out it just didn't go the way you wanted just didn't that yeah the prospects that i had i think other niggas was hitting them too. Other plans? I don't know why.
Starting point is 01:54:08 More enticing plans? I don't know why they were just waiting for me. Someone had a higher draft pick? It says something about a new James Harden spot this opening night. I was like, all right, I mean.
Starting point is 01:54:17 If that's what y'all into, yeah, like, you start hating like that, I mean, you know, if that's what y'all want to do. If you into that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean?
