I'm all right. Come on, Parks, put a little 808 behind him. He's a little cap of y'all. 808 behind that might be all right, though. You got a little cap of y'all for us? Nah, that's cool, man. Tell the people what you did in February. Tell them what you did. I was alive, thank God. Praise, praise, praise be. Tell them what you just did 10 minutes earlier in February.
Starting point is 00:00:45 Okay, I mean, I could tell my true story, Tell them what you just did 10 minutes earlier in February. Okay. I mean, I could tell my true story, or you guys can tell the funnier side that you guys interpreted. Always the funnier side. Yeah, we always roll the funnies. And you could tell the funnier version. You don't have to tell your truth. That's true, too. Yeah, that is a fact.
Starting point is 00:00:59 What was he talking about? Okay, I take that back. Maul said he needs to watch Dave, and we've talked about the show Dave plenty of times. And I said, oh, is it back for season two? And then he said, no, Dave Chappelle is back. I refer to Chappelle's show as Chappelle's show. I don't refer to it as Dave's show.
Starting point is 00:01:17 The song does go Chappelle's show. Which then I was met with, how dare you say Dave Chappelle is little Dickie in Black History Month? Which is also fair. The nerve of you. It's only one Dave. Honestly.
Starting point is 00:01:32 Honestly. Some nerve. Is this working? Got some white soul for us today? Some Little Dicky? I don't, but it happened to me last night the white the white soul hit you it happened that feeling that feeling that as a music lover there's no feeling like it it's like your first time getting high it's that feeling you search for when a new song or a song you've
Starting point is 00:02:01 never heard does it for you hits your chords that's always nice how often do you guys get that feeling in the year i had it with roll some mo lucky day uh cpr summer her first record for me it normally comes at the discovery of an artist for me like when summer first dropped the artist that made cpr i i went to try to find anything that she had put her voice on yeah immediately after i tried to get people on the phone that knew her i didn't we think we thought summer walker was summer walker we thought it was dramas we thought it was summer Summer Walker. Yeah. Like Summer, Summer Walker. I remember our dumb asses like, wait, is this? I'm like, Farron, if Summer Walker is doing this.
Starting point is 00:02:50 But it was new Summer Walker. And CPR was one of those songs that did that. So it happened to me last night on the fucking, you know, I'm playing, I talked about this. When you play a song and then when that song goes off, the algorithms just start playing songs for you. So that's what happened. and then when that song goes off, the algorithms just start playing songs for you. Mm-hmm. So that's what happened. The algorithm started just playing jams. I was like, wait.
Starting point is 00:03:15 It doesn't happen to me that often. Are we starting with slippers? I'd say a couple hours. So I'm starting with a jam because who is this girl, Tempest? I feel like, yeah. I'm not him. Yeah, I know Tempest? I feel like, yeah. I know Tempest. You do, because I know her too, but I maybe only had a joint from her.
Starting point is 00:03:31 We played some Tempest on this pod before. We have, but different now. Not this one? Not this joint? Different now. It's different now that I've heard. I've heard two songs from this person. I'm saying this person not to be funny
Starting point is 00:03:44 because these new R&B people, they come out like Division was a group who knew. Like, these R&B people get crazy. Six Black was slack, black, slack, slack. I don't know. Slack, black. He was six slacks. Yeah, he was black slacks for a little bit.
Starting point is 00:03:59 So now I'm starting with this. Oh, my God. Who is this woman? Where is the air horn? Giving you space. Wanting me to be in your life Knowing that my love's with your size Giving you space Never been the one to do that Never wanna treat you like that
Starting point is 00:04:37 I gotta, ooh I know you want me now I'm not the one right now My love is done here Keeping it straight right now I'm on your way right now I'm out your way You were everything that I wanted Till I got everything I wanted from you
Starting point is 00:05:00 Yo, yo, yo That's nice Just got a little SZA cadence Yeah That melody was my best SZA And I don't mean that in. Just got a little SZA cadence. Yeah. That melody was SZA-esque. And I don't mean that in a bad way at all. SZA's another one. When I heard, I think that was Babylon was the song for SZA for me.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Yeah. I needed to hear more from- Around that era. Fam, what the fuck is this girl saying? Nah, she's talking about- Nice talking to you. I got everything I wanted right now. I'm out your way. You want everything that I wanted. I got everything I wanted from you. Mic check, mic check.
Starting point is 00:05:34 One, two, one, two. Everything that I wanted. Where's the error where the rappers would just put the hot verse on the hot song before it got to Billboard? Sans Rick Ross. ross was the only one that kept doing it broke your heart today mic check mic check one two one two hope y'all feeling good out there we're the pod today i'm here to talk about everything and nothing at I have no idea what this girl is doing So listen
Starting point is 00:06:11 So I hear this song in the middle of the night And I immediately go to search this girl's name Let me stop this Because I hate when these R&B people do that What? Be awesome Her name is a fucking rock band's name too and a metal band
Starting point is 00:06:26 and a fucking K-rock that's why Tempest that's how we got Sixlack Tempest is the name of mad rock
Starting point is 00:06:34 shit so if this is she has Tatiana Bello next to it it's Tempest Tatiana Bello god damn it maybe I should
Starting point is 00:06:42 search that on fucking iTunes she should have put a letter upside down or something a lot of names were taken gotta get creative anyway listen my point is not that that song is just so great by itself but the person that can do that right that song and do this i want to hear more from him. I'm just going to give him a little dose of this and then we can start our pod.
Starting point is 00:07:08 It was toxic, but it was fun. I just thought it's been a while since we spoke about new artists, new music. Oh. I know this song. Yeah, me too. But the person that can make this song like this and that song like this.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Mac is on that album, right? On what? I couldn't find the album. Mac did something. What album? If there's an album, tell me so I can buy it right now. Because I bought some metal gear. I hit play at 4 a.m. thinking I was smooth sailing. right now because I bought some metal gear. I bought some.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I hit play at 4 a.m. thinking I was smooth sailing and that nigga said, we will come to get you and you will die. I was like, yo. That sounds hard. She took a left. I was like,
Starting point is 00:07:58 you want to wake up? Is this the same? Yeah, I was about to say. Is this the same artist? That's a real artist. Wow, man. Joe's like, she's good. This girl got it.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Hold up. That's that seven Chris Brown and A$AP Ferg work that just came out. No, Joe Biden. No, William Mao. He's got to stop. He's got to start giving Ferg more respect. This podcast always makes really, really good music. He does.
Starting point is 00:08:26 He does. It's not enough. It's not enough? Not enough. What do you mean? It's not enough music or it's not enough to make great music? No, music is not enough for the fans to start giving people respect. You know that.
Starting point is 00:08:37 We know that. We know that, right? Yeah. I think Ferg knows that, too. Microphone check. One, two. What is this? The J.B.P. Boys bike, two. What is this? The J.B.P.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Boys bike to business. What is this? 417? I'm just freestyling right now. And I'm still close. Episode 416 of the Joe Button Podcast. I'm your humble, gracious, grateful, highly favored host, Joe Button, here with a few of my nearest and dearest.
Starting point is 00:08:58 And before we get into that, we are powered by, controlled by, not controlled by. Not controlled. Empowered by. By the greatest app of all time, Cash App. Thank you for everything. Yes. Don't run off on a plug. Cash App the plug.
Starting point is 00:09:14 Come on, man. Come on. Who else, E? Huh, E? Who else? Anyway, Joe, go ahead. Good brother Rory is here. Maul is here.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Parks is here. E is here Parks is here E-Rab is here Who did that? Savon is here Alex is here Corey is here Gentlemen how are you doing? I'm good
Starting point is 00:09:35 I got a little Got a little cocky On my way here today Oh just on the way here Yeah Got a little cocky I've been finding spots Right out front
Starting point is 00:09:44 For those that don't know We we're in a new spot. Surprise. So we used to have a parking lot at Park's old spot. I could come right on time, park right away, walk right through the back door, and I'm in Park's living room. A little different now. And it's snow everywhere. Parking spots are gone. I've been getting right out front.
Starting point is 00:10:00 So I was like, I'll come whenever. I got cocky. And I drove around the block for a good hour and i think can we just make fire hydrants bluetooth at this point like there's got to be a new way to do this they're taking away way too many great parking spots yeah do something with that travel around with a tank yeah i'm with you why is all technology changing but fire hydrants you took away mad parking spots with city bikes. Now I got to deal with fire hydrants still?
Starting point is 00:10:28 The restaurant huts are fucking destroying things. Yeah, y'all want to eat out in the fucking street. Now I can't even park. I'm sorry. It was with Baisley. You know how hard it is to parallel park with Baisley on my lap? Screaming her fucking head off. Look at white problems during Black History Month.
Starting point is 00:10:43 There's no parking. That's what you white people got to deal with. I want him to let it breathe for a few seconds so we can hear. I get it. I hear it in your parts.
Starting point is 00:10:53 I am oppressed. I hear it in your voice. I hear it. Do you know what that's like? All right. To not get what you want? No, I have no idea. Because of social constructs?
Starting point is 00:11:04 I have no idea. Do you have any idea what that's like? I have no idea. Because of social constructs? I have no idea. Do you have any idea what that's like? I have no idea what that's like. Not a clue. So sit down and shut up. You're right. My bad. You're right.
Starting point is 00:11:11 You're absolutely right. Can I hear more about Maul being upset about alternate side of the street parking? That's a thing. What'd you say? Come on. You ain't listening to 880 to find out if it was happening? Can I hear more about Ewan Parks being mad about alternate side of the street parking? I have a car. Why are street parking? I have a car.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Why are you mad? I have a car. He got a whip, yeah. Okay. Why y'all direct things to me with such spice? Because you directed something to us with spice.
Starting point is 00:11:38 That was the end of spice. What's all the fun? You don't get the call and the spice. Park Nancy said, I have a car. That answers it. You don't have to long gaze me down. Park Nancy said, I have a car. That answers it. You don't have to long
Starting point is 00:11:46 gaze me down. What if he wanted to give you spice after that? You don't get to shut the spice off. Don't whip your hair back and forth at me. Don't whip your hair
Starting point is 00:11:54 at me again. I just think it's funny, does that affect your Uber mall? Not at all. That's why Uber. See? Hop out,
Starting point is 00:12:02 go upstairs, do what you gotta do. Uber and the mattress. Yeah, there you go. Uber and the mattress. Uber in the mattress there you go Uber in the mattress Uber in the mattress responsibility there you go I ain't gotta get up
Starting point is 00:12:12 to move nothing I feel you though well yeah anyways if my girl wasn't from Jersey and like needed to have a car I would be okay
Starting point is 00:12:18 with not having a car still see there you go one of the worst neighborhoods to have one too facts shout out to our first and last time listeners shout out to the women that are listening See? There you go. One of the worst neighborhoods to have one, too. Facts. Shout out to our first and last time listeners.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Shout out to the women that are listening. Shout out to the people listening from work. Shout out to all of you. Shout out to the people going through a divorce right now. Boy, it's tough. Sure. Sure, it's always tough. Eh, my barber.
Starting point is 00:12:42 I never care until it affects me. Yeah. I feel like there's probably been a lot of... I never care until it affects me. Yeah. I feel like there's probably been a lot of it. I never care about what is happening in your life until it alters mine some way. My barber was like, yo, man, next Friday, can't. What impression was that? Yeah, where is he from?
Starting point is 00:12:59 What region is he from? I don't know. Let's highlight it. What region is he from? No, I get mad at my barber for going on vacation for a few days. Yo, I got to go see
Starting point is 00:13:07 my kids in Florida. I haven't seen them in six years. So? You got the fucking nerve to go see your family? Yeah. You have to cut
Starting point is 00:13:14 my horrible hairline. I say, yo, man, what's going on next Friday? He got into it. Remember that thing I was telling you? Yeah, it's time. When they say,
Starting point is 00:13:23 remember that thing I was telling you about a year ago? It's happening now, man. It's going down, splitting everything. Shit that I had before she got there, man. I just, next week,
Starting point is 00:13:33 so I got into my lawyer, the fees, oh, it's getting crazy. And I was like, wait, so you can't do next Friday? No. No. Yeah, she's getting half the razors.
Starting point is 00:13:41 You got to go re-up. So when can you do it? Oh, but at least he gives you that. Y'all don't hear how inconsiderate that is. But he's telling you before he leaves, though, right? They can spill in the beans. I feel like there's going to be a lot of divorces in the next couple months or year. I'm just shocked.
Starting point is 00:13:57 I'm just shocked that he's- Because people have been locked in their house with their significant other nonstop. Noticing them. That's how you chew? That's the worst. That little shit. That's how you chew? That's the worst. That's how you chew. That's how you wash this. I'm hanging up your shoes.
Starting point is 00:14:10 I can't do it anymore. Yeah, y'all are stupid. Just wash the glass after you use it. It's mad simple. I'm shocked your barber doesn't know everything about a divorce. I feel like every barber's an expert in everything. I'm shocked he didn't have a law degree. Every barber I know is a legal defense.
Starting point is 00:14:34 He's a doctor. He can coach basketball, boxing. He's an expert in everything. I've never seen a barber face anything they couldn't handle outside of the barbershop. You guys sit there and talk to mad different people, so I see how that happens. Since you mentioned it, let me just get this off my chest since we don't have much else to really talk about.
Starting point is 00:14:51 Whoever works, anybody that works with high school kids doing athletics, I don't want to hear about it during my day. That's a barber. Any of them. The gym teacher you don't want to talk to? This one nigga stopped me like, hey, man, man you gotta come by seat number 12

Starting point is 00:17:00 That's all I do when I'm home alone. He's dressed it up. That's what I do when I'm home alone. I lay by the door like I'm dead. Rory, that's the dog's life.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Well, Bazley is not your soulmate. That's your soulmate right there? Hell yeah. I respect that. I'm sure we have something to get to. Now let's talk about dog soulmates. And before everyone reads too much into that,

Starting point is 00:19:15 Okay, finish. Come on. She's like, no, baby, it's fine. You can put it in the microwave. You was like, I would never. I would never. Nah, I talked in the microwave. Nah, disgusting.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Stove top the Miss Swiss for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Stove top milk Miss Swiss for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Stove top milk. So I called them all up. No answer. Well, it was kind of early. 1.13? Yeah, that's early for me on Sunday, for sure.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Yeah. Didn't get an answer. Doubled back around three-ish. I wasn't going to let this go until he answered. Answered. So he answered the phone. Was it a FaceTime or a phone call? Phone call.
Starting point is 00:19:44 I wouldn't invade a space Phone call. I wouldn't invade his space like that. I wouldn't invade the boy's space like that. I wasn't sure if you wanted to show him the spread. You invaded his space
Starting point is 00:19:50 a lot though. Nah, I wouldn't invade the boy's space like that. No way. I thought you might want to show him the spread. Nah, I gave him a little regular call
Starting point is 00:19:57 just in case he had something going on. Oh, he wanted to double date. I was going to say, double on Valentine's Day. He answered the phone. Nah, I didn't want
Starting point is 00:20:04 to do that with him. Just a cool little check-in. So he answered the phone and he was to double date. I was going to say, yeah, double on Valentine's Day. He answered the phone. No, I didn't want to do that with him. Just a cool little check-in. So he answered the phone, and he was laughing hysterically. Because I knew why he was calling me. He couldn't stop laughing. I said, yo, what's so funny? He said, yo, man, I'm just watching this Meek Takashi stuff. And I said, on Valentine's Day?
Starting point is 00:20:24 Exactly. I said, wait, all right. Now let me get into a little mall intervention here. What's going on? And then that's how that went. And then we started talking about that. I just thought it was great that that was what I woke up to in my phone. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Valentine's Day beef. Did you 69 after? Parks, how was your Valentine's Day? We're not going to let him do it. We're not going to let him do Day? We're not going to let him do it. We're not going to let him do it. We're not going to let him do it. Anyone. Anyone.
Starting point is 00:20:48 Parks. It was a shot. It was a shot. Layup lines. Got to get warm. How was your Valentine's Day? It was delightful. Parksy.
Starting point is 00:20:55 It was delightful. Were you Parksy? I was Parksy, sure. I haven't seen the man bun like this. You look a little Parksy. My shit's getting long. Valentine's Day. You know what his day was like?
Starting point is 00:21:05 He got the man butt. You know what he was doing. She did your hair on Valentine's Day? I wish. She paid for your hair? She paid for your hair and nails?
Starting point is 00:21:12 You know, Parks had to pull it all back so he could get real messy for Valentine's Day. Wait, hold on. He pulled his hair back. Let's get crazy.
Starting point is 00:21:19 Yo, Parks putting his hair in a bun to get her going. Oh, I know what's coming now. He put his hair in a ponytail so get her going. Oh, I know what's coming now. Park's putting his hair in a ponytail so he can get crazy. That's some funny shit, man.
Starting point is 00:21:33 It was nice. We slept all day. We ate food and we watched movies. It was cute. Sunday shit. Yeah. Sunday shit. That's all.
Starting point is 00:21:39 We actually went to a restaurant. Okay. We did indoor dining. It was weird. You're part of the problem. I know. It's my first time I've done indoor dining. It was weird. You're part of the problem. I know. It's my first time I've done indoor dining since probably this time last year.
Starting point is 00:21:50 It was alright. It was nice. It felt nice to feel a little normal. Yeah. It wasn't scary. Anything memorable about the day? Just the love. The love is very memorable. Just the love. You can see it in his face. We kept it light, man.
Starting point is 00:22:06 We're not, you know. We got each other some chocolate and cards, and that was it. The lovey corny shit. Did you learn anything about yourself or your significant other? Oh, we did play a really corny card game. Come on. It was like about learning about each other, but it was pretty bad. Come on, share.
Starting point is 00:22:20 The questions were really bad. But share with us. It was just like, what's your favorite color? It was terrible. It was a terrible game. And it said like the world's best couples game or something. It was not. It was not. Twister is much better.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Yeah. Naked Twister. Naked Twister. Does that line still work more on a first date? What? What's your favorite color? Well, Naked Twister afterwards. What's your favorite color?
Starting point is 00:22:41 Put your hand on your favorite color. Right hand on your favorite color Yeah I'm more with the twist On the first date type of thing That's dope That's real shit I don't care about your favorite color
Starting point is 00:22:51 What about you Rory? How was your Valentine's Day? Like I said before I don't subscribe to These made up holidays By By white Jesus You're not a pagan
Starting point is 00:23:01 Yeah Irish and Cubans Don't get along No man Social constructs created By the white Jesus That y'all pray to. And that ain't for me. No, yeah. No, I see.
Starting point is 00:23:08 So if you guys want to go into Duane Reade and make Hallmark rich again. No, I never really looked at it. You do realize that Hallmark is like the only company that still does print and makes money. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't even. That's kind of crazy. I didn't even break it down like that.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Yeah, but let's stay on you. Yeah. I didn't even that's kind of crazy I didn't even break it down like that yeah but let's stay on you yeah that's crazy about Hallmark
Starting point is 00:23:30 by the way but you know what I love Joe saying earlier yo how come you always try to kick my back in when I'm down you're the biggest hypocrite
Starting point is 00:23:39 I've ever met in my entire life you're already trying to tell us what Hallmark is doing when they add on the stocks and all that yo you know they were the most downloaded app last year. Time Magazine can't even do print.
Starting point is 00:23:51 But Hallmark can. How was your Valentine's Day? The malarkey that Hallmark is pulling on. Do you know what that is? How was your Valentine's Day? Rory gave us the Hallmark breakdown. That's great. They import their paper.
Starting point is 00:24:06 Listen, my mother taught Sunday school school St. Valentine was a fucking creep Oh my god I don't subscribe to this Come on Give me a hug No Rory I'm not And I don't know if St. Valentine was a creep I have no idea
Starting point is 00:24:21 He might have been the nicest guy ever Yo Rory is an idiot, man. That's some funny shit. Did anyone even meet Duke, though? And why is he a saint? What's up with the cupids and all that? And I don't even like his last name. I like that you're asking these questions after Valentine's Day.
Starting point is 00:24:37 I like that. Yeah, it's important. And what does he have to do with the Easter bunny and Christ rising again? Show me the significance. I don't fuck with bunnies on Easter. Santa? He's definitely a creep. White guys coming down your chimney?
Starting point is 00:24:52 100% a creep. It's about Jesus. No, that's the KKK. Now we're talking about St. Valentine, and now it's about Hallmark? No, I get it. Y'all have not went to 2-5th and done the science. That's all I'm saying. I wasn't expecting y'all to break it.
Starting point is 00:25:04 They scream at me all the time. Right. It's a fact. It is a fact. Yes. Yes. A similar event did take place. You're right.
Starting point is 00:25:15 You were right. Our research found a published report of a similar story. Yes, it was. A similar story happened to a young man in the Pacific Northwest about 20 years ago. It happened. A similar event took place. You're right again. You're right.
Starting point is 00:25:31 A similar story happened to a teacher in the Florida area. It happened. You were correct. It's fact. It happened. This one took place. A similar story occurred in the state of New Jersey about 20 years ago. And this week. And this week.
Starting point is 00:25:46 And this weekend. So you had a good Valentine's Day. I will say right here in the first sentence, St. Valentine is a Roman saint celebrated in Western Christianity. Anytime they put Western in front of something, Western citizen, Western, white people,
Starting point is 00:26:00 white people. Listen, man. So you didn't do nothing. If I drop the jewels, y'all have to pick them up. It's you didn't do nothing for Valentine's Day. If I drop the jewels, y'all don't have to pick them up. It's cool. So nothing happened for Valentine's Day. It's basically what you're saying. You didn't do anything.
Starting point is 00:26:10 You're just home chilling. You see how I tried to flip it, though. I get it. I get it. Okay. That's good. I gave him. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:15 I understand. I understand. It was better than nothing. That's true. That's true. Give us the breakdown. Taking his pod, man. Trying to take it out of Western culture.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Are we done with him already? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We let him get that shit on. Yeah, he gave us the break Taking this pod now Trying to take it out Of western culture Are we done with him already We let him get that shit on Yeah he gave us The science behind it I'm not mad at science Gotta accept the science That's it Nigga called himself Lace daddy
Starting point is 00:26:33 We gonna get into it I'm sorry Somebody called himself Lace daddy Who called themselves Lace daddy I don't know Was that person wearing lace
Starting point is 00:26:40 That was my next question I think somebody What lingerie you gave her That's very That's very progressive of you I think this might happen. What lingerie you gave her? That's very progressive of you. I don't understand the joke. You gave her the lace Fenty?
Starting point is 00:26:53 What's that? On your body? How was your Valentine's Day, man? Amazed. You slipped into something more comfortable? A little corset? It was good. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:27:01 Had fun? Did you wear the garter belts? A blast. Your heart looks full. You look like you're happy. I had an amazing evening. Okay. That's what's up, man. I've wear the garter belts? A blast. Your heart looks full. You look like you're happy. I had an amazing evening. Okay, that's what's up, man. I've seen the spreads.
Starting point is 00:27:09 New music. Wait, how'd you see them all? It was all over the socials. It looked like someone put paid advertising behind it, because it just would not escape my algorithms. He put a little $20 in there? He put a sponsor up there? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Scream, man.
Starting point is 00:27:24 What's happening up here? What you doing, whoa, whoa. Scream, man. What's happening up here? What you doing? Yo, whoa. What you doing? Whoa. Whoa. What's happening? No, I knew Joe was in his bag.
Starting point is 00:27:34 That nigga had lobster and bacon for breakfast. I said, this is different. I don't even know how you make lobster bacon. What part of the lobster is that? Shit, this nigga just got his chef doing anything, man. That chef got the easiest job in the world. Make everything. Oh, yeah, don't worry about it.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Bacon and lobster. Can you put pork butt on a salad? Yeah. Like, yo, listen. Give me a salad with lobster and bacon. And grits everywhere. Cheesy grits. The double cheese on the grits.
Starting point is 00:28:01 You look like you laid it out, though. You look like you laid it out. Wait, hold on. Here we go. Male friend encouragement. Give me some of that. You laid it out, though. You look like you laid it out. Wait, hold on. There we go. Male friend encouragement. Give me some of that. You laid it out. Give me some of that.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Come on, man. Did you put a table in your living room when you have a dinner table? Come on. Tables on tables. Table for two. Come on, man. He did the table for two. Y'all thought Lucky Day only did that.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Yeah. He did the table for two. Y'all thought it was only Lucky Day that had a table for two. Table for two in the living room. No, it was Joe. Yeah. My bad. It was Joe. the living room. Y'all thought it was only Lucky Day that had a table for two. Table for two in the living room. No, it was Joe. Yeah. My bad. It was Joe.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Now, listen. Oh, my God. How much Valentine's Day radio is here? Listen, they asked for the boss. You asked for the boss, so they sent me, dog. No, that's a fact. They asked for you. Look at that.
Starting point is 00:28:36 Look at that. Look at that craftsmanship. Sunglasses to match. Maul. Rory. I'm sorry. I apologize. Maul.
Starting point is 00:28:44 And you got our PS5? Come on. Come on, man. Yo, hold on. Look at the New York City line. Hold on. Just quickly. Before we ooh it up, before we ooh it up, did Trey get his PS5?
Starting point is 00:29:05 Come on, man. Look how my guy did5. Come on, man. Look how my guy did it. Come on, man. That's light. The Baki. This looks like a six-figure Valentine's Day to me. Come on. That's-
Starting point is 00:29:13 Back to pocket watching. This looks- These white boys, these white boys will not stop pocket watching. I'm just doing the math. That's not pocket watching. That is exactly what that is. No, I'm just doing the math. That's not pocket watching. That is exactly what that is. No, I'm just doing the math. You can't do the math on someone's Valentine's Day.
Starting point is 00:29:31 Can I get this Bitcoin? No. Exactly. Keep going. That's why the pocket watching thing is going to you. That Chanel went crazy. Can y'all please send them their Bitcoin? Get this shit out of my phone.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Look at all of that. Look at all of that. Look at all of that. That shit doubled last week. You know what I'm saying? Are you going to send it when I go down? Right.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Listen, I had a really amazing evening. I meant to bring some of the rose petals in here and toss them at you guys, but I'll do that
Starting point is 00:30:02 next time. No, you don't have to. I wanted to give y'all a little dose of that. Come on. Strawberries, that next time. No, you don't have to. Well, just quickly. I wanted to give you all a little dose of that. Come on. Strawberries, chocolate, caramel. You can bring us some Chanel sunglasses.
Starting point is 00:30:09 No, I'm happy. PS5, Chanel. Come on, man. Is it Valentine's Day if ain't no Chanel-y? I don't know. That's true. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:30:16 I never thought about it like that. I don't know. Ask Western society because now you're just buying into more capitalism in France. It was a real good... The French.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Supporting the French. It was a beautiful, beautiful weekend and my heart is full. You look like your... The French. Supporting the French. It was a beautiful, beautiful weekend and my heart is full. You look like your heart is full. My heart is full. Well, I was on the way here. I'm glad you brought up
Starting point is 00:30:31 that you were going to throw rose petals at us because I was on the way here and I saw a lot of women getting their Galentine's Day off, which I think is dope. I thought it was really cool that they were doing that.
Starting point is 00:30:40 But I kind of felt a way that we didn't do Palentine's Day. So I found some stuff in my car. Okay. Did you give me some cigarettes or something? I got you. This is a face wipe from JetBlue.
Starting point is 00:30:51 Oh, good luck. I respect that. This is a used lint roller. You just have to take off the first layer and then it's a new one. You're wearing black. I figured it'd be good for you. Nah, Joe need that. And this is actually, this is vitamin C with hand sanitizer. I might need this back after we record though because I like that one.
Starting point is 00:31:07 So I thought I could do Valentine's Day with my guys. Thank you, Rory. That's kind. Yeah, like the girls can't just have Valentine's Day. Oh, you love us? I mean, yeah. Oh, man. Rory, look at you. Y'all are my Valentines. Thank you, Rory. Appreciate that. Is your heart fuller, Joe?
Starting point is 00:31:28 A few things I learned on Valentine's Day my heart's full what'd you learn a lot more boyfriend reveals there was a lot of that yeah a lot of boyfriend reveals the most I think in Valentine's Day history in my 30 years I ain't hate I gave him a like I liked youhmm. I liked you and your man. Ooh, I like his tattoos on his arm. A lot of boyfriend reveal. I don't want to get into it. Like, I want to let
Starting point is 00:31:53 Valentine's Day kind of like just simmer out for a week. Stop hiding your fucking boyfriend through the rest of the year. No, no, no. Stop hiding it
Starting point is 00:32:00 even on Valentine's Day. Like, why are you just showing a nigga arm on Valentine's? Like, come on, man. Yeah, a couple of y'all with my niggas. I'm like, oh. Like, why are you just showing a nigga arm on Valentine's Day? Like, come on, man. Yeah, a couple of y'all with my niggas. I'm like, oh. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:32:10 That's where Juan at with it. Oh, shit. She with Juan. Yeah, I just never understood that. Like, if you're not going to show your significant other, why show their leg or their arm?
Starting point is 00:32:18 That's just weird to me. It's a little weird. Yeah, I'm just not, I don't know. I know you don't want people in your business, but then that's still your business.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Then just don't even post anything. that's exactly so that's one simple thing the flip side of that was i did a lot on the gram for my niggas to have fun with me pause for y'all to have a blast that was a lot of that a lot of that was for y'all to have fun the rest of it though is upstairs soundproof no no it's not i can't hear nothing is upstairs soundproof? no no it's not soundproof ish soundproof ish
Starting point is 00:32:47 yeah the rest of it though a lot of sad face emojis out there yeah yeah yeah yeah we we we but you know that a lot of sad face emojis out there
Starting point is 00:32:58 but see Joe nah come on you like playing that game though you like playing that game we gotta talk about it it almost felt like you did that for that yeah that was that was kinda like no the Joe. It almost felt like you did that for that. Yeah, that was kind of like.
Starting point is 00:33:06 No, because your point, B, there ain't no bitch that should be sad. Okay. Okay. If you're going to stand on that, I respect it. There ain't a bitch that's supposed to be sad. Okay. Nowhere. Okay, now.
Starting point is 00:33:15 See, and that's where women get tricky because men fuck a whole bunch of girls. Not me, but men. Not me. When women, not you, not none of the men here, but when women are entertaining a bunch of guys, they'll talk to a few of them as if they might be the only one. So women get to get off the send a sad face when you stunting. Bitch, you're not sad. Get out of here.
Starting point is 00:33:38 Right. So that's a little nasty. And you with a nigga right now. Fam, yeah, don't do that. You sending me sad face emojis and you in the bed with me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on. You don't do that. You sending me sad face emojis and you in the bed with a nigga. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on.
Starting point is 00:33:45 You can't do that. You can't do that. And maybe my last realization of the weekend is I'm not a just fuck through the day guy. Got a time to fucks. Sure. You're going to get this in the morning, afternoon, a real nice session in. But in my head, I'd be thinking at any time in the day, it could be pound town. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Quickly, I'm going to stop you. No, no. I stopped myself. No, no. I quickly learned. So while Parks was pocket watching, I may have been food watching. No way you can fuck through all that food. Yeah, facts.
Starting point is 00:34:21 A whole three pounds of so much food. Three pounds of porterhouse and now I'm getting to fucking? I'm taking a nap. Look how much mac and cheese is on that plate. I'm napping and farting for the next three hours. None of this spread said out there fucking. Real good time though.
Starting point is 00:34:38 It looked like you had a great time. A lot of romance. Joe know how to do shit for Valentine's Day where it's for him too like you enjoy the moment as well well you don't get happy making someone else happy yeah no for sure but i'm just saying like you make sure that no you guys that bacon and lobster tail was definitely for you no woman is ordering bacon and lobster tail for breakfast i didn't order the lobster tail though yes you did i't. Your chef don't cook
Starting point is 00:35:05 what you tell him. He just threw the lobster tail on it. Then he fucked it up the next night. He put some bullshit on that plate and laced me. Is that whole lobster fried?
Starting point is 00:35:14 It was good food. A lot of love was in the air. A lot of love was in the air. He threw the whole fucker right in there? Yeah. So you breaded the shit out of that lobster.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Yeah. Still squirming, not getting in there, buddy. Jesus Christ. Yeah, but squirming, not getting in there, buddy. Jesus Christ. Yeah, but I just felt like more respect needed to be put on my name. Like, I felt the way from y'all. Like, y'all was questioning, like, my Ronnie romance level. I don't think we ever questioned it.
Starting point is 00:35:35 Like, I think because we be joking around in here. Like, dudes can get romantic? No, absolutely. Fam, yes. That's what I'm, yes. Then why is it funny when dudes get romantic? It's always gonna be funny But why
Starting point is 00:35:46 But tell me why That's just man shit I gotta laugh at my nigga For throwing rose petals On the floor What the fuck you doing nigga I gotta laugh You just gotta laugh
Starting point is 00:35:54 At shit like that But it's dope For your lady Get your shit off She cried Of course Listen that's what it's about She cried to me
Starting point is 00:36:00 Yeah that's alright But is she one of those girls That cries over everything No Okay No she's one of those that's mad that she's crying.
Starting point is 00:36:06 Oh, I'm a thug still. Nigga, shut up. Nigga, take these fucking rose petals to your face. But that's dope though. And it just becomes the girl that cried wolf
Starting point is 00:36:14 and it's like, oh, you And my whole body is, we got to do massages Sunday night and my whole body is still sore from it. Like I think I'm going to do that.
Starting point is 00:36:23 I got to get into that bi-weekly now. The way that they twist and contort you and you feel it. Oh, did you do a going to do that. I got to get into that bi-weekly now. The way that they twist and contort you and you feel it. Oh, did you do a chiropractor too? No. I did a deep tissue one recently. Yeah, dude.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Couldn't walk after. Oh, my God. I was in pain. I dated a massage therapist for a long time, like three years. Oh, that's pretty cool. She would leave me. I would be using her for her services.
Starting point is 00:36:44 And then I could see her tight. Like, yo, I just rubbed mad dude's backs today. I'm not rubbing yours. Yeah, that too. All right, do you think maybe you set the bar a little too high? Because that's what scares me with men that go all out on Valentine's Day. That's a fact. How are you going to continue not to do this every night, per se? Even next year.
Starting point is 00:37:04 How are you going to continue this? do this every night per se even next year continue this look like quite the bar yeah what's the birthday look like now shit oh i don't know i don't know you gotta cross that bridge you take this thing one one holiday at a time and now valentine's day was great i felt great she felt great love love love great. Love. Love. Love. As long as her heart is full and your heart is full. That's the important thing here, Joe. Thank you. Thank you, Maul. It's full. I'm happy for you. Alright, what we got? There seems
Starting point is 00:37:33 to be a lot to get to 40 minutes in. You want to start with... Oh, yeah, no. Meek and Dude. Meek and Dude, since that's what Maul spent his Valentine's Day doing. Yeah, this was... That's where you found love? I couldn't believe that this was happening on Valentine's Day. That's why I was laughing.
Starting point is 00:37:47 See, now you understand why I was laughing on the phone with you. Why are they doing this on Valentine's Day? What couple name did you make up? Mikashi.
Starting point is 00:37:54 Sounds like the guy that created Bitcoin. Satoshi Mikashi. Yeah. This clip was released for those of you that don't know what we're talking about.
Starting point is 00:38:04 There was a Meek Takashi vid where apparently they were in a club in Miami the story I'm getting is Takashi left waited outside for Meek and his people to come out
Starting point is 00:38:13 and then there was an altercation with cameras so you have all these different perspectives of this which Maul told me to make sure I go look at all of the perspectives I saw them all
Starting point is 00:38:23 I saw the Meek angle I saw the Takashi angle I saw the of the perspectives. I saw them all. I saw the Meek angle. I saw the Tekashi angle. I saw the mush, the security guard. He didn't say nothing. I saw it all. So where would y'all like to begin in unpacking this? I'm sad that we have to unpack this, but here we are. That's my overall point.
Starting point is 00:38:38 You're sad that we got to unpack it? Yeah, I'm sad that we have to unpack it. Look at what is important. It's not. It is. It's not. All right, let me not say important. It's not. It is. It's not. All right, let me not say important. It's not.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Important is not the word. Look at what needs to be talked about within cultural shit. This is some stupid, corny, horrible things. That's when you feel like
Starting point is 00:38:55 the uncle that may have outgrown just some of this stuff. Like, there is no angle of this that excites me to talk about. There's no way to, like, fam, on Valentine's Day, this is what y'all are doing. What stood me to talk about. There's no way to like fam on Valentine's Day. This is what y'all are doing.
Starting point is 00:39:07 What stood out to me was Tekashi security guards couldn't hold him back. That's what told me all I needed. No, I didn't need to hear Meek say, hey, this is stage. He waited for us. He trying to get us locked up. I can see that. Which is why look at the world we live in. Look, this is what you have to do. To think you're relevant. which is why look at the world we live in. Look.
Starting point is 00:39:28 This is what you have to do to think you're relevant. This is stupid. This is the, like, really, if you unpack, like, I need a real therapist to go through this entire thing, and not to Tekashi. No, you just need a real therapist. The consumer. I have a therapist. The consumer, not Tekashi.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Tekashi is doing what he knows the world will pay attention to. My blame is not to them. My blame is, let's look at us. I'm blaming him too, because that shit don't work. He ain't selling no more records doing this. That don't matter to him. And it don't matter to his fans.
Starting point is 00:39:56 This is the new song. This is the single. That's what the world we're in now. This is the single. If you view it that way. And it's featuring Meek. If you view it that way. And it's featuring Meek. If you view it that way, I understand.
Starting point is 00:40:08 Like, this is really what the world is moving into, if not already there, of the things that are now important to us. I couldn't figure out what club this was in Miami
Starting point is 00:40:17 where the parking is in a garage. This is not Booby Trap. This is not none of the clubs that, you know what I mean, come to mind, play. I'm not none of the clubs that, you know what I mean, come to mind. Play.
Starting point is 00:40:26 I'm not sure where this was at, but I was just disappointed only because, you know, to me, Meek is on the level where it's just too much dialogue. There's too much talking with this dude. What would you want Meek to do in this situation? I mean, I would have, wherever we was at, once we would have walked out those doors and saw that he was still there in the parking lot or he was there, I wouldn't even went out. I'd be like, listen, man, get that dude out of here.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Like, y'all clear the parking lot. I'm not going in that parking lot until he's gone. Because you know this is what he wants. He wants the interaction. Right. He wants the video. He wants the back and forth. He wants to post that.
Starting point is 00:41:00 So it's like, you can't play into that game. And this is what he wants. So you think Meek knew't play into that into that into that game and this is this is what he wants so you think Meek knew walking out of that door that Tekashi 6ix9ine was right there I mean once yeah he saw him
Starting point is 00:41:10 once he saw him out there it's like yo listen man I'm not talking like we not we not doing that we not going back and forth because it's not gonna be
Starting point is 00:41:16 a back and forth no of course there's a bunch of security guards in front of a screaming guy with a phone it's a circus it's literally a circus but wait
Starting point is 00:41:23 I'm not gonna to be so fast to call those dudes security guards because they don't look like security guards, nor are they acting like security guards. So I'm not going to call them that. I don't know what they are. I don't know who they work for. I don't know who's paying them.
Starting point is 00:41:35 I don't know what their role is, but it certainly wasn't to defuse anything or de-escalate anything. It's a show. Joe, we've watched it. They look like they're part of the show, though. Yeah, this is a show. It looks like somebody said to them, yo, we got the phone out. You know what we looking to get. This is a show Joe we've watched it They look like they're part of the show though Yeah It looks like somebody said to them
Starting point is 00:41:46 Yo we got the phone out You know what we looking to get This is a show Just don't let it get too crazy And they played with somebody Who is on record as saying I'm not gonna get too crazy Cause
Starting point is 00:41:57 Y'all know where I come from And the judge just yammed me up That's what he says on record And we've also seen that with every Tekashi stunt since He's gotten out of jail That security was in on everything as far as the show yeah too yeah i'm not saying that they're not actually security guards and protecting him but they're hired that interview is not just can you protect him will you be part of this fucking bullshit circus that he's gonna perform see but this is why when i go to miami i sit my ass in my room or i don't
Starting point is 00:42:22 leave wherever whatever's going on. Because Marlon's right. Meek is seen with too many high-profile people to be in the same club as Duke. Yeah. You're not even supposed to share the same- Y'all are not even supposed to club together. You can't share the same air with him. Not even the same Soho house.
Starting point is 00:42:41 Yeah. All right, but to Meek's defense- He should go hang out with Tom Brady and them, you know? Right. Yeah. All right, but to Meek's defense, he should go hang out with Tom Brady and them, you know? Right, exactly. Or don't hang out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:50 Or don't hang out. It's easy, y'all. What Drake said, all you niggas is clubbing, I'm locked in the studio, I'm writing songs, I don't know what's going on because I'm locked down here.
Starting point is 00:42:57 Okay, but part of writing music is being in Miami clubs. Yeah, not bad. Especially Meek. I'm not rolling. That's not true. No, this is 100% true. Here's the thing, Meek is at a level to where- Fam, if you on your fifth album relying on Miami clubs. Yeah, not bad. Especially Meek. I'm not rolling. That's not true. No, this is, here's the thing, here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:43:05 Meek is at a level to where- Fam, if you on your fifth album relying on Miami clubs to get something out, then you have a hard time. That's not what it is. That's not what it is. That's not true.
Starting point is 00:43:13 Meek just has to- Part of writing is living. Yeah, no, but- Go live in different situations. No, no, no, no, no. If you need to rely on it. It's not that. I didn't say rely.
Starting point is 00:43:20 Y'all missing it. You said rely. You said you need to be in a Miami club to get your shit on. That's part of life. No, you don't. No, you don't. Meek makes party records with young said rely. You said you need to be in a Miami club to get your shit on. That's part of life. No, you don't. No, you don't.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Meek makes party records with young artists. Yeah, but you don't, it's still certain places you don't need to be at. He could be there, but... Y'all don't even know what club this was.
Starting point is 00:43:34 He don't need to be... Whatever club it was, he should have been there. First of all, no, no, no, first and foremost, it's the day before Valentine's Day. You should be doing
Starting point is 00:43:41 some super fly shit with a chick nobody ever seen before. Yeah, all the shit... Look at y'all telling another man what he should be doing before Valentine's Day. Yeah, be doing some super fly shit with a chick nobody ever seen before. Boat, yeah, all the shit. Look at y'all telling another man what he should be doing before Valentine's Day. Yeah, because look what he ended up doing. Fair, he walked out to his car and was minding his business from what I know. Nah, nah, nah.
Starting point is 00:43:53 I don't know. Nah, nah, nah. From what I saw, Meek walked out and then the show began. You know what we mean. There's certain things, there's certain places you're just not supposed to be in. There's certain areas you're just not supposed to be in. I agree with that, but you guys won't even tell me what club it is.
Starting point is 00:44:05 I don't care what club it is. It don't matter to me. It don't matter what club. If y'all told me this was Liv, I'd be like, all right, maybe Meek doesn't need to be in Liv anymore.
Starting point is 00:44:12 Any club that Takashi is in, Meek shouldn't be in. Is that a fact that he was in there or he was waiting outside? You know how easy it is for any civilian, by civilian I mean not a rapper, not street shit,
Starting point is 00:44:24 to know where Meek is at. Rory's just arguing some shit. By the time Meek gets in a club, mad people have tweeted where Meek is at. It's mad easy to find out
Starting point is 00:44:31 where rappers are on social media. That's kind of my point though. You shouldn't be in places like that. So I'm saying 6ix9ine may have not been in there.
Starting point is 00:44:38 There's a bunch of fly shit you could be doing. There's a bunch of fly shit you could be doing. A bunch of fun you could be having. They find Jay on a private island you don't think they can find meek in miami no matter how private the shit is but what i'm saying is rory takashi has never found jay on a private you're just saying shit right now people finding people
Starting point is 00:44:53 are at no no other billionaires find jay-z over there other billionaires find jay-z on island you're right paparazzi does but paparazzi and takashi is different we're not talking about that i'm talking about you shouldn't even be in a place to where this dude can get next to you to have this moment because that's really all he wanted was this moment. Agreed. That's all I'm saying. You got to remove yourself from these moments. You got to remove yourself from these moments. That's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Especially when you're somebody like me. You rubbing shoulders with the people you rubbing shoulders with now. You sitting in rooms trying to change laws. You sitting in rooms trying to make effective change in communities and shit like that you can't then turn around and then post shit of you having an interaction with somebody that you've already expressed how you feel about this person and i'm not deviating from that point what i'm saying is that me could be with robert craft at patriots fucking stadium and someone will find out and takashi could go to that fucking parking lot and wait.
Starting point is 00:45:45 No, he's not. Let me get to him. And my response to that is then it's Meek's job to leave. Yeah. You're right. And wasn't that what he was trying to do?
Starting point is 00:45:53 That can happen. The interaction can't happen, O'Rory. Once I see him, once I see you standing over there in the parking lot, I go right back in the cut like, listen,
Starting point is 00:46:01 clear that shit out. I'm not going out there I don't disagree with that point. I'm only arguing to what y'all are saying where Meek now has to live underground and can't even walk to his car. That's not what I'm saying. That's not what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:46:11 I'm saying stop making yourself accessible to these moments for happening. You got to start hanging out and doing different shit. You got to elevate, bro. You got to elevate. You can't be in the clubs that this dude goes to. That's valid. That's what I'm saying. My only point was,
Starting point is 00:46:25 I don't know that he was in that club. Even if he was, let's say he wasn't. He wasn't being Robert Kraft's fucking suite watching the Super Bowl. Listen, but he could be in the parking lot. Okay, you're right.
Starting point is 00:46:34 Let's say he wasn't. Let's say he wasn't. But even when you see him in the parking lot, the dialogue and the back and forth, you cannot get into that. Yeah, I don't know what he did. You can't do that.
Starting point is 00:46:42 You can't, you can't exchange no words with that dude. I'm just saying, Meek looked like he was going to his car. And that was my only point. Which is fine. Which is fine. That was my only,
Starting point is 00:46:50 don't try to say I was making that argument. On his way to his car, before he got to his car, he noticed the dude was in the parking lot. You can't spit on him. You can't talk to him. Sure. That's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:46:58 Totally with that. Because you can't do that. A huge advocate of leaving these type of people alone. You can't scream in the camera. These internet weirdo kids. Oh, you trying to get me jammed up. Oh, you trying to get me locked up. If you continue the conversation with somebody who all we know is them getting people locked up.
Starting point is 00:47:12 Right. Yeah. Because at what point does the onus fall on you? Yeah. Because now, see, Tekashi to me is irrelevant. He means nothing in the grand scheme of hip hop, where hip hop is going, what it stands for. He means nothing. Which is why I say Meek should need to be having an interaction.
Starting point is 00:47:29 Meek, on the other hand, yes. Now what we're doing is unpacking how Meek handled that. Right. Not we, but there's people out there that are now unpacking how Meek handled this situation. Where, what situation? I was walking in my car. Right, right. But here we are now. And I'm not not gonna do a back and forth with that i will say though if i'm meek and i'm just walking
Starting point is 00:47:50 to my car and i may be with people that go and this person without any of my knowledge runs up on me yeah i might be saying leave me alone you're trying to get me locked up because the people around me go and you're running around with me locked up because the people around me go. And you running around with a phone screaming like a fucking idiot with your cops in front of you. Yeah, but see, you know what? That too. Hold on. See, and that too, that's another thing that I'm not a fan of.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Like, yeah, I know people that'll go for me. But I don't ever want to put any of my niggas in a situation where they have to go for me. Sure. Agreed. Like, I look at niggas real different when they hire their mans as security. Like, how you hiring
Starting point is 00:48:28 your friend as security? Like, you want to put your friend... Well, me, me can have real security with him. I understand. I'm just, I'm not talking about me. I'm just talking about the bigger conversation.
Starting point is 00:48:34 Like, how you putting your man in a position to where he might have to do something that might cost his life or end up in jail? Like, I don't, I'm not a fan of that. And to that I say,
Starting point is 00:48:44 if I'm just with my friend he's not with me as my friend because i know he could go right we just childhood friends and i want to hang out my childhood absolutely he just happens to go right right but then i don't i don't want to ever not hang out with him bro i don't i don't i don't go out like i don't even go places if i feel like there's a possibility something might pop up i'm the same way i don't even do that i'm not going if i feel like something up. I'm the same way. I'm the same way. I don't even do that. I'm not going if I feel like something might. Why am I even here? You're not the same way if you're sticking to what you just said.
Starting point is 00:49:09 No, I'm talking about this situation. I'm here to point out the contradiction. You just said, yo, you're hanging out with him as your friend, not as somebody that can go. So you're not going to not hang out with your friend just because they go. And I totally disagree. Yes, the fuck you will. friend just because they go and i totally disagree yes the fuck you will if your friend goes and you can't be around a situation that goes can't be then you can't be with him anymore
Starting point is 00:49:32 and the thing about niggas that go ain't no time to talk yeah and that that's my no no situation no no roy it's my point in this situation Because if he's with some niggas that go, he ain't walking over to spit at nobody. No, this is not happening. He's not walking over to have this whole exchange. Like Maul said, he's going to protect his dudes that he knows is going, and we're not going for him. Right. No.
Starting point is 00:49:56 We out of here. I like how Meek handled it, but. No, I don't. No, I don't like that he got into that exchange. And to that point that was too much he was with security the way he should have been
Starting point is 00:50:08 oh yeah no for sure that isn't the friend that's gonna go that was just hypothetically Von was with security when he got shot yeah you want me to tell you
Starting point is 00:50:16 all the rappers that are with security when they either get to shooting or get shot like that don't mean nothing really that's like just by protocol
Starting point is 00:50:24 like you gotta take yourself Out of those situations You gotta Especially Cause I'm not saying that Meek shouldn't go to a club Of course
Starting point is 00:50:31 I'm not saying he shouldn't Hang out with his homies That's stupid I'm never saying No shit like that I kinda think y'all just said that No no no That's
Starting point is 00:50:37 Well let me clear it up That's not what I'm saying I'm saying that Once we go in the parking lot And we see that dude Standing over there And he got his phone And you can tell
Starting point is 00:50:43 What he ready to do Hold on Everybody chill Yo clear that out i don't understand why i'm not even going clear that shit out totally understands this point listen if you read read the newspaper and it says joe budden got caught slipping on 138th street at four in the morning coming out the building what was you doing over there? You're going to say, Joe shouldn't have been there. Exactly. Of course.
Starting point is 00:51:08 Exactly. And that's all. Joe know he shouldn't have been there. Whatever happened then, I was fucked up. But why was he there? Right. And we don't need to go in circles,
Starting point is 00:51:16 but I asked y'all if you knew what club he was at. No one has given me that answer. I don't care what club he was at. So that's why I'm not sure Meek shouldn't have not been there. I don't care what club he was at. And I'm not saying Takashi
Starting point is 00:51:24 was just chilling outside waiting. He need to act like the fire. Like I said, like I said. I heard this was a restaurant at one point, not a club. Whatever, wherever he was at. Meek can go wherever he wants. I'm just saying, once you see that dude standing in that parking lot, you can't have an exchange with him. You can't let that happen.
Starting point is 00:51:39 Yo, and you got to know, I'm done talking about Meek now. I'm just talking about how you move in this industry. I was hanging out with some people a few months ago. And we was trying to get shit shake. I was like, yo, where'd it go? Where'd it go? Where'd it go? It's like, yo, well, Tory over there, booby trap was such and such and such and such and such.
Starting point is 00:51:58 And I'm like, all right, I know booby trap is hot. You thinking about going to booby trap? And they was like, no, I can't do that because Tory's there. That's my man. But no, that's a mess. Yeah. He going through what he going through. I'm going to booby chat and they was like no i can't do that because tori's there that's my man but no that's a mess yeah you're gonna do what he's going through i'm gonna go over there if i hug him in something if i kiss him in something if i say hi to him in something that's just not for me to go the end right problem solved you could want a club you could want to turn up you can want to have fun you can want to spend money like maul says a certain way to
Starting point is 00:52:23 you got to level up shit he made the song he made that sling right and that's all i'm saying when you reach a certain level you could do super fly exclusive shit when nobody can't get around yeah i'm talking about that's the fun shit arguing that club shit ain't fun i don't give a fuck with nobody that club shit is corny that club shit is corny the real fun is when my mansion Niggas have a private spot The club shit is the corny shit That's the corniest shit Yeah
Starting point is 00:52:49 Dudes do the private Private parties At a house Or the resort The villas Yeah We here This is what we doing
Starting point is 00:52:56 The chef We got the drinks We got whatever we need Smoke That fun you see That's the fun That fun you see When all the Instagram baddies
Starting point is 00:53:05 are in Cabo together just with no men conveniently no it was a girls trip that's the fun that's the fun that's the fun we supposed to be having
Starting point is 00:53:13 that's the fun that's what they do hey and the sad part is I'm not talking about Meek but it was Valentine's Day so the next day you saw how niggas gave it up
Starting point is 00:53:21 yeah you saw what money you saw what Quavo was doing you saw what Offset was doing you saw what Bunny Bag Yo was doing you saw what niggas gave it up. Yeah. You saw what money, you saw what Quavo was doing, you saw what Offset was doing, you saw what Bunny Bag Yo was doing, you saw what niggas that's in that groove.
Starting point is 00:53:29 Hey, it's they day. Me, I'm not in that groove, but you seen what I was doing, like it's they day. Uh-huh. This ain't about, this ain't time for me to go find Duke
Starting point is 00:53:37 that owe me money. Like, this is not the day. Yeah. That's it. And I respect Meek and I have him, like he's very important to his generation and and I have him. He's very important
Starting point is 00:53:45 to his generation and to what he represents. He's very important. But moments like that, that's where one wrong thing could destroy all that you worked for and built. That's all I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:53:57 I completely agree with that. That's all I'm saying. You can't put yourself in it. No, no, I understand that. To conclude my point, I don't know where Meek was coming out of. I don't know that
Starting point is 00:54:04 Tekashi69 was there. I know that bouncers and security guards all know and work with each other and have sent mad text messages, yo, this person just walked into the spot. You know Ghostface made the song Run, though, right? Right. Just saying. I don't know the details to say Meek was in a place he shouldn't have been in,
Starting point is 00:54:20 that Tekashi wasn't waiting outside because he got a tip from another security guard that talked to another security guard that got into the private spot. I don't know. That was my only point. Whenever Meek sees me, he should run. If Meek was at a regular-ass club with Tekashi69, yes, Meek, you shouldn't be in that club. If you're at the laundromat and he walks in, you should run. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Fair. I don't care about the club. Wherever he sees him, he should run away. Zero dialogue. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Zero dialogue. Not wrong there. Not wrong there at all. That's it. That's all. What else? Hey, prayers should run away. Zero dialogue. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Zero dialogue. Not wrong there. Not wrong there at all. That's all. What else?
Starting point is 00:54:47 Hey, prayers to everyone involved. No, prayers to me. Thoughts and prayers. Thoughts and prayers. Prayers to me. Rest in peace to Vincent Jackson. Saved me on many a fantasy football Sundays. That's not important right now. He was a beast, man.
Starting point is 00:55:03 Vincent Jackson, yeah. He was a beast. He was a beast, man. Vincent Jackson, yeah. He was a beast. Yeah. He was a beast. Vincent Jackson was found dead in a hotel room in Tampa. Yeah, I believe so, yeah. Really unfortunate. Really unfortunate. No details have come out about this.
Starting point is 00:55:18 Yeah. Rest in peace. Jesus. Yeah, prayers to the family. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Listen, again, I'll tell y'all, it's been death every podcast.
Starting point is 00:55:26 Yeah. 2021. Rupert Neve died. He's an engineering superhero. Yeah. He invented all these things that we talked about. I saw.
Starting point is 00:55:33 Absolutely. I saw that. Very big deal. Absolutely. Very big deal. It's important for us to talk about music, especially new music
Starting point is 00:55:40 and up-and-coming artists because it dawned on me when I found that song by that young lady I love, right? And when Maul and, yeah, Maul does it a lot when he reposts
Starting point is 00:55:52 artists bigging up, the fact that we big them up. It brought me back to remembering what it was like to hear myself on the radio for the first time. Yeah. And it hits a little different here, I think, than radio because we only talk about and play a certain amount of shit but it's the same it's the same you're right you're absolutely right yeah but it's so the same like if i'm a new artist at a label not getting any support or attention and i'm busting my ass making music and then the hottest
Starting point is 00:56:21 podcast out mentions me and now the label has maybe heard that, and now they're paying attention now because someone outside said they're paying attention. I know how that feels. So it didn't hit me until over the weekend that, damn, it's important that we never escape that because the new artists don't really have that. Mixed show on radio is not mixed show anymore.
Starting point is 00:56:45 It's programmed. Playlists for the most part. Videos you got to pay for. Payola. Playlists you got to pay for. Where is the organic? It really is pods. I won't be arrogant and say just us, but it's just pods now.
Starting point is 00:56:59 I went on a little rant. I did a little Monday IG jam session because I hadn't in a while last night. And I got kicked off twice and I ended up going on a little rant. I did a little Monday IG jam session because I hadn't in a while last night. And I got kicked off twice and I ended up going on a little rant. I saw you on there and it confused me when I saw you because there's been plenty of nights
Starting point is 00:57:15 where I wanted to just cut Instagram Live on and jam. But I know that they changed the rules and I know that the licensing police send you something to say that you don't own this music and you can't rock and they'll warn you and then they cut your shit off and i get angry so i tried to not play bigger records and i still got the copyright thing and i went back on and went and went on uh you know what people perceive as an angry rant when you're
Starting point is 00:57:38 yelling and i wasn't mad it just doesn't make sense to me that like a joe rant more or less yeah anytime anytime joe speaks y'all still never broke that down to me maybe i really don't know but why so okay so when d nice goes on live he has a deal d nice is yeah he has that's what people were saying he has deals with the labels and my issue is to your point of the acts that may be c-list in the label why are you copywriting their music your copywriting deals with these social networks should be different agree y'all should be paying me to play this music on my platform but you're right i know what he's saying yeah yeah you should want the promo yeah absolutely you should want the algorithm to algorithm it's like i have more followers on uh chitty chatty house than i do on instagram
Starting point is 00:58:30 and twitter and i've been there for five months it's because the algorithms are algorithming over there yeah and my point is someone with my platform that is known for playing new music i'm being i'm keeping it a buck you're right but the fame um that should be something where i'm asking for money to play y'all shit from a label but i love music and i think that's corny so i just play the shit i love i love to highlight really talented artists so when i do that on my instagram why are you blocking it like why are you cutting me off shit is the way you do the? That shit is corporate greed, man. The way you do the corporate greed,
Starting point is 00:59:06 that's bad business and stupid greed because you are stepping over a dollar to make half a fucking penny. Yeah. It's promotion, which you'll make money eventually because everyone on my Instagram is now going to go find that record.
Starting point is 00:59:20 All in the comments, what record is it? What record is it? I'm shazamming it now. All right, I'm going to go listen to it. You think people, how they consume music is wait around for people to ig live no they'll take music from it and then go listen to it right on their own the quality's not
Starting point is 00:59:31 even that fucking good the point that you make free promo and you're cutting me off from making you money and i'm not asking for any i'm just doing this because i love new music right you know the problem the problems i thought I would escape by retiring from music still exist in podcasting still exist in everything that Rory is saying it's business it's bad business it's bad it's politics you know those first few years of pod and it felt so great to not have to rhyme words not talk to A&Rs not not talk to label execs, not deal with release dates, spends, playlists,
Starting point is 01:00:08 clearances, budget, videos. Oh, when the labels found out you needed social content. Some people got paid to tweet. Hey, that shit hit them like a bag of bricks.
Starting point is 01:00:22 Hey, you should get a videographer to follow you around during the week. I'm like, yeah, I said this for fucking 15 years. Now you want to say when I don't have nothing going on, what are they going to follow? Hey, I'm just waking up.
Starting point is 01:00:34 Hey, you should preview your music. I can't speak. Preview your music on your IG. I'm just waking up trying to figure out where I'm going to eat today. Nothing really to... Not as content. Nothing really to film or record. No, that's content.
Starting point is 01:00:49 I mean, that is content. But the point Rory is making led me to anywhere I go as a creator, they're going to follow me. It's them following me. It's them following you. It's them following me. It's them following you. It's them following us. It's not a surprise that they just pop up when shit is profitable or when you got a buzz or when you done made some shit
Starting point is 01:01:12 or when they figure out how to monetize some shit. You can't leave them because they're following you. So here we are. We right back in it where, yes, Maul, D-Nice is going to get a deal because no one man should be able to play music and have michelle obama and barack and sicily that whoever is amazing yeah was in there so all the labels said oh he gets a pass hey they do it to me sometimes universal reached out and hey we'll
Starting point is 01:01:41 give you a blanket license man play what you want sometimes we play some shit and the label stops it and when I make a call which is annoying but when I make a call they be like oh our bad we didn't know that was you we didn't know we wouldn't have done that
Starting point is 01:01:54 it's just a and I understand that they do that shit is stupid they do the copyright deals across the board we're trying to grab every last person ever that plays our music
Starting point is 01:02:03 without us monetizing it. You should stop doing that. You should look more into these copyright laws and make custom deals for certain platforms. And it should be... And I just think going live, period. Anyone should be able to play music. I certainly don't want someone to take my shit and put it on their YouTube
Starting point is 01:02:20 channel and monetize off it. I understand that. In a super high format. But if people are playing my shit on a podcast or while they're playing video games or on Instagram Live, fucking have a blast. Twitch does well with that. I make some notes on that shit. I wish someone would explain it to me because I could be wrong. I don't know everything.
Starting point is 01:02:35 Yeah, there's a difference between bootlegging and playing some shit because you want to play some shit. It's free promotion. Word. Even if we play a fucking Drake record on this podcast You guys aren't losing money When we play a snippet of a song that's been out for 10 years Right Just let us play it
Starting point is 01:02:51 Right Now that it goes Shit is all stupid It's stupid It's all stupid You're acting like we're doing a fucking Toyota commercial And then we played a Drake record and didn't pay him I can't be in my house playing music on my IG Live.
Starting point is 01:03:06 Just like that shit is stupid man. It's not stupid if the creator signs away the rights. No that's stupid. But it's stupid that I can't. I'm not even talking about the labels that are making the money off it. I'm talking about that's bad business for them. You'll make more money if you let people
Starting point is 01:03:22 promote the music. Yeah. People will actually go to where you monetize it. Cause you have fucking stake in every single streaming service. Oh, I heard that song. I'm gonna go listen to it on streaming where you make the money. You should actually, I'm not going to shut down the free commercial.
Starting point is 01:03:35 So I don't know what song this is. You should incorporate Shazams and links right into people's shit. So that like when people play shit, they can get actionable. Right. No, it's right here. Here,
Starting point is 01:03:44 just click the thing. Well, the labels have deals with Shazam. Right. It's right here. Click the thing. The labels have deals with Shazam. So that's why that works. But I'm saying they should incorporate that in YouTube and Twitch and IG Live where, yeah, you can play my shit, but it's immediately going to pop up as like a link to the song. I agree with that.
Starting point is 01:03:59 That would be fly. Yeah. I'm not mad at that. I probably just gave away a good answer. What has to happen for y'all to realize that there are no attempts to make the business better for anybody? Oh, no. Like, I get confused.
Starting point is 01:04:09 We just talking about it. Just venting. Just venting. If you're doing what you do bi-weekly. Yeah. That's what we do. Is that what I do bi-weekly? I'm sorry, weekly.
Starting point is 01:04:21 Is that what I do weekly? Can you move? When y'all give y'all Joe impersonations I want a full-fledged impersonation Like do what I'm ill to Like don't just do when I'm corny And taking L's And wearing a football basketball jersey
Starting point is 01:04:34 Nah, that's not how the internet works Like do it when I'm dope too You think that's what the internet was gonna do? Yeah, no I'm talking to my friends Not the internet But it's fine, You're the internet too Um
Starting point is 01:04:46 Alright what else is Our new music Are we Are we on new music No Well we recorded on Thursday So we didn't get to hear Any of the Friday drops
Starting point is 01:04:55 Except for the Nipsey and Jay record Cause it came out On that Thursday Um But yeah Music dropped Uh The Judas and Black Messiah
Starting point is 01:05:04 Inspired album I like it Produced by Hip Boy But yeah, music dropped. The Judas and Black Messiah inspired album. I like it. Produced by Hip-Boy. It's really good. I have it pretty high already in my recent soundtrack joints. Sure. Very high, actually. There's a lot of slaps on there.
Starting point is 01:05:20 Yeah. Real good project. I was surprised. I mean, when we went through the track list And you know We read off the The names and stuff like that We was We was like okay This could be something dope
Starting point is 01:05:28 But they really did A really really good job With this Really really good job With this soundtrack And the movie was dope Yeah I really liked the movie too Yeah the movie was dope
Starting point is 01:05:36 I watched that last night Damn man My man Why Lakeith did that shit man This movie was good I had to go I had to not root for him I had to not root for Lakeith This time man Yeah it's hard for me To root for Lakeith Like after seeing this movie was good. I had to not root for him. I had to not root for Lakeith this time, man.
Starting point is 01:05:46 Yeah, it's hard for me to root for Lakeith. After seeing this movie and then him moaning on Chatty House, it was like, all right. He said that wasn't him. He said that wasn't him. He said he played an audio recording to fool the Jezebels. It wasn't actually him moaning in the moaning room. Hey, that's how niggas clean it up now. That wasn't me.
Starting point is 01:06:06 And first of all, why you have an audio recording of a male moan? We ain't even got to go into that. Do you guys have any great takes? I'm sure it's on YouTube.
Starting point is 01:06:13 Any great takeaways from the soundtrack or just it was dope? And go listen to it. It was really good music. Check that shit out. It was dope. No, this felt like
Starting point is 01:06:22 how soundtracks used to be for movies. A little bit, yeah. That's how I felt for me. No, this felt like how soundtracks used to be for movies. A little bit, yeah. That's how it felt for me. Yeah. Bring back the good soundtracks. Yeah. I like that.
Starting point is 01:06:30 I like the way with Mo Money, Boomerang soundtrack, shit like that back in the days how those soundtracks were like, it breaks artists.
Starting point is 01:06:38 Just the first time hearing them, they got a dope record on the soundtrack. This kind of felt like that for me. But there's a lot of artists in there we like, like BJ's Chicago Kid, Masego, Pooh me. But there's a lot of artists in there that we like, like BJ Chicago Kid, Masego,
Starting point is 01:06:46 Pooh Shiesty, like a lot of names that people know but like haven't really cracked yet. Yeah. Happy, good record. They mix the artists very well in the sense of super legends,
Starting point is 01:06:57 super lyrical, non-lyrical, straight R&B. I'm not going to say Smino and Saba are unknown, but up andand-coming artists that may not be on the Nas level right now.
Starting point is 01:07:09 Right. Throw in a Keanu Letty. And the Nas record stuff. Let ASAP rap real quick and sound real good. That ASAP record is great. Yeah. Shout out to D-Dot
Starting point is 01:07:16 who produced that. Oh, did he? Yeah. Oh, shout out to D-Dot. Nah, they just... I know it sounds cliche. They just chose the artists way better than I've seen anyone do as of recent in a really long time.
Starting point is 01:07:27 Maybe Black Panther soundtrack that Kendrick did would be the closest I would think that the last time this happened so well. And a lot of that was TDE. This was a mixed bag of everything. Happy or sad about the unreleased Ross verse on What It Feel Like? Oh, I didn't hear it. Happy it didn't make the cut or- Did it leak? It didn't.
Starting point is 01:07:48 Somebody was playing it. It did not. It didn't leak, but somebody played it and said this was supposed to be on the song and it's not on the song. And Ross sounded great, but I mean- That's a Ross-esque beat. Absolutely. Definitely a Ross-esque beat, but I like hearing other rappers over a Ross-esque beat.
Starting point is 01:08:04 I don't necessarily have to hear Ross over the Ross-esque beat, but I like hearing other rappers over a Ross-esque beat. I don't necessarily have to hear Ross over the Ross-esque beat. I thought the song was right at two verses. Yeah. It would have been probably long. I didn't need to hear any more, but man, what a record still. And great soundtrack.
Starting point is 01:08:22 Yeah. You got to ignore anything that rory texts you when there's hype around something that drops that was a good soundtrack no no no no when i texted y'all was true i don't remember the text i'm sorry and i text y'all about the raw shit was the verse different i didn't make the deadline not the raw thing what i texted i'm talking about yeah the longer verse it didn't make the deadline. I said, I don't know if he's going to make the deadline, but they're there right now.
Starting point is 01:08:49 I'm not rolling with that. I was on FaceTime. What are you talking about? I'm still not rolling with that. I don't know. Okay, all right, never mind. Rory hit the group chat Thursday night late and was like, yo, I have to think of different,
Starting point is 01:09:02 longer verses coming out because blah, blah, blah. But I'm like, man, it's three in the different, the longer verses coming out, because blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But I'm like, man, it's three in the morning. This shit's coming out in a couple hours. It was also like 11 p.m., but... Same shit. Yeah. Table for two, Lucky Day. He killed that.
Starting point is 01:09:20 I like it. How was it? It's a body. Yeah. Dope, dope project. Good seven body. It's phenomenal.. Yeah. Dope, dope project. Good seven body. It's phenomenal. Perfect timing.
Starting point is 01:09:28 Really dope. Really good. A grower. It's a grower, not a shower. It's a grower. And I don't say that to say that it's mid upon first listen, but when I first heard it, I didn't get all of the greatness that was there.
Starting point is 01:09:44 And boy, it was a lot of it. Because it was different. It was different. That's what I like about Lucky Day. Like his shit, when it comes out, it sounds different than the other R&B that I'm used to hearing. And that's what he gave me on majority of this whole shit. I loved all the features. Features.
Starting point is 01:09:58 Features. How was it different? A lot like a Rory sleeper playlist. Just want to make that clear. A little Yebo on there. Was like the production different or like the way
Starting point is 01:10:06 he was singing what's different well the production was different than I'm accustomed to for him
Starting point is 01:10:13 right which I think when he led with On Red I kind of felt like this project wasn't going to sound like a typical
Starting point is 01:10:18 that song still isn't for me okay I could see how it sounds better throughout the project I liked it and it does sound her coming on no it didn't do it for me but the production is different he takes the second verse or the lesser part in a lot of these songs and that's different for me he let the he let the
Starting point is 01:10:37 woman lead okay um well it's table for two so i know but that didn't say he was letting the woman lead well he just said table for two well he has to pay well which and and which there's some shit around there's some shit surrounding the concept of this where somebody is claiming that that's the new thing today too where creators today have a hard time realizing that they can think of something and someone else can think of something the concept of this is that he's with other women or he's with women on the songs well the concept that they're saying is stolen there's another artist saying that the table for two concept in terms of artwork with you at a diner looking pub alone the back
Starting point is 01:11:20 art they're saying and they they're saying that the chords are similar in one of homeboys records and the on red i'm tired of that yeah i'm tired of it i was gonna do an album with female i still may like female male thing that's because you're a biter and no one can ever do that's the women again right you can't women. That's not the most crazy concept to come up with. No, I didn't read too much into, I did see that
Starting point is 01:11:48 and I saw that he posted the artwork that looks similar, title and all that. I didn't listen to his music It looked a little similar. It did, it definitely did. But I mean,
Starting point is 01:11:56 for me, I mean, if I come up with the title Table for Two, I may shoot it at a table. Right. Yeah, that's just a guess. So yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:04 Well, for me, even if he bit off the concept, like the artwork type stuff, yeah, that's fucked up, Lucky Day. You shouldn't do that if you did that. And I don't think he did. I don't think he did. That'd be the thing. When you never even heard of this artist that's like, yo, you bit my shit. It's like, I don't even know you. I've never even heard of you.
Starting point is 01:12:22 Going through that in podcast land. Don't get me started. Yeah, like I've never even heard of you. These new podcasters. Who the fuck are you at episode seven? I didn't even know you. I've never even heard of you. Going through that in podcast land. Don't get me started. I've never even heard of you. These new podcasters, who the fuck are you at episode seven? I didn't bite off you. I don't know you. I never heard of you. Nice to meet you.
Starting point is 01:12:32 Well, that's why so many artists stopped taking when demo discs were actually a thing. No, I can't take that. I feel like it was... John Legend got sued for like a court or two because dude had a picture from a meet and greet that proved that he met John Legend. And that was proof that he passed that demo that day. And John Legend was like, I never, even if he left it at the meet and greet table, I didn't take it. Which is what he probably did. But he lost in court.
Starting point is 01:13:02 And my version of ordinary people is different from your ordinary people that you that you made that day yours was ordinary and that's my thing when it comes to this like conceptually okay i understand that but homeboy eventually we got to get to the music and lucky day's music is well no let me say this i don't like i don't want to see artists steal other people's concepts even if let me say this. I don't want to see artists steal other people's concepts, even if they can execute them better. I don't want to co-sign that at all. I just don't think that Lucky Day saw that shit
Starting point is 01:13:32 and said, nah, fuck that. Let me just do the same thing he did. Your dope concept isn't the end of the job. At all. You need to make the music, too, that's going to be on par with the people that are going to steal your concept and your music. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:46 And that's the business. Nobody jumped out there and said he bit anything off his amazing first album. Right. We ain't seen none of these. He took that. The concept and the music is still only the first 25% of what you have to do to get your shit out there. That, how much can a heart take? That could have been the end of the EP for me.
Starting point is 01:14:05 It didn't need to be another song yeah but is incredible yeah that shit I liked it I liked it a lot and then he got to my window because of course on red is not there for me because I purchased it and there's no way to add it to the album that is the dumbest fucking thing. You got to delete it from your library. If I delete it, how does it come back up? Because then when you buy the whole album. But I have the album ready.
Starting point is 01:14:32 So now what? But before you buy the album, you got to delete the singles that you already bought. Right. That is the dumbest thing. It's very dumb. It is.
Starting point is 01:14:39 All right. Cool. Either way, How Much Can a Heart Take? Loved it. My Window, which is the next song for me. I love the fucking rain flip. Mahalia went crazy.
Starting point is 01:14:49 Ari, Access Denied. Y'all know that's one of my favorite. I'm the only one. So not mad at the flip. Is that okay, Gloria Estevan, please? Yes. All right, great. Dream, Queen Naja.
Starting point is 01:15:01 I've been trying my best not to hear anything Queen Naja's on, but this worked. I was going to say, I love that record. No, I love this record, too. Yeah, that shit is great. And I have nothing against Queen Naja. I like her, but I saw a wave of people trying to convince me of it for like eight months, and I try my best to stay away when you do that.
Starting point is 01:15:18 Okay. But I fuck with her, and she fucks with us. Friend of the show, friend of the podcast. She does fuck with us, and we fuck with them. Rev Loser. Joyce Rice. Joyce Rice. That's friend of the show. Come on the podcast. She does fuck with us, and we fuck with them. Red Blossom. Joyce Rice. Joyce Rice.
Starting point is 01:15:26 That's friend of the show. Come on, man. That's my people. Come on, man. And then Lucky Day, the project was so amazing that as the algorithm started algorithming on my Joe Budden radio shit, I bumped into a whole bunch of other just new artists, maybe songs I missed. So I'm just throwing shit out there what the fuck is this
Starting point is 01:15:48 what is this who is i mean hold up who is win me over when a song starts like this who's mooney long i don't know m-N-I. Long. Who is this? You know if you're featuring Jacob Lattimore, I'm going to listen to it. And if you're sampling SWB Week, you got me. And if I listen to this on Valentine's Day weekend when I plan to go to Pound, come on, man. Hold up, man. Alex, you're not a real R&B head Don't bop that hard when this is on
Starting point is 01:16:30 You ain't gotta bop this hard when this is on Started out at midnight and now it's quarter to two Can you meet me in the kitchen for me a night snack? Got my body on your body Coming back to you Does anybody else in the room hear this? Can you meet me in the kitchen for a midnight snack? At three in the morning? That's daddy vibes right there.
Starting point is 01:16:57 That's daddy vibes. I'm waking up 1 a.m. waiting for her to get that little bathroom walk in. Go ahead and walk to the bathroom like this dick ain't hard when you get back. A midnight snack? Hold up. I'm quite right now. Don't keep me waiting. Oh.
Starting point is 01:17:12 And it's hot. Yo, R&B don't look like it's in bad shape for the decade. I don't know who these people are. This video looks great. I don't know who these people are. R&B's in very good shape. Hopefully, her label is paying her attention. I'm only doing this for that.
Starting point is 01:17:26 Why haven't I heard this? Meet me in a simple midnight show. I love a midnight snack. Hey, who the fuck is this? Fam. Yo, Joe Bud Radio started getting their shit off. I know Van Jess, so let me not do that I just didn't know Van Jess put an album out yeah and I didn't know that
Starting point is 01:17:48 this was on there Van Jess is one of the people I just buy all the singles I thought I played Slow Down this record I don't know I never heard it this Van Jess shit is crazy I normally am mad at people with the rump shaker uh sample but not not uh when does it not work not show me what you got. I've heard it not work. I've heard it not work. Not by a group that we would know. Somebody failed with it.
Starting point is 01:18:11 Oh, wait. Whoa, whoa. You're not ready for the log cabin with this man just. Yo, this song was so hard with the sample, the verse. Wait, that's done? Man, Trey, what are you doing? I thought he was going gonna get to the hook And fuck it up
Starting point is 01:18:26 Hold up This coming off the midnight snack Fam You feeling that Who the fuck is this nigga I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out.
Starting point is 01:18:49 I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out.
Starting point is 01:18:57 I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm out. I'm washed I just been playing Jenea numb
Starting point is 01:19:05 I'm shocked you didn't know what the Van Jessel song was I know Van, I hate when boys do that I never heard that song before And I didn't know they snuck an album out Is that the record? Yeah, no, I never heard that Fam, why am I a sucker for when they do this? When they make the beat all munchy.
Starting point is 01:19:25 Call me over and talk it out with you childish. You saying that there is nothing left for you to talk about. Why you lying? Hey. I wish you had all this right there in front of you. Been missing in action, baby. There's nothing new. Now I'm in the city, but you won't answer me.
Starting point is 01:19:43 Yeah, I know. I haven't played new music on here in a long time. I know. YouTube, I know. You're missing out. I don't care. I don't even care. Tell them to fucking
Starting point is 01:19:51 fix the papers back there. Fix the paperwork back there. I can't say that I'm not missing you Hey! I wish I could make it right Before we go the wrong way Don't leave me stranded
Starting point is 01:20:03 by my loneliness And while I'm on all this fucking type of vibe, I totally missed the Wizkid album that dropped in October. It's craziness. Is this a music pod or what? Why did I know about this stuff? We didn't mention the Wizkid album?
Starting point is 01:20:20 No. No, we did not. I thought we did mention it. I think we definitely did and i thought you loved it the one that dropped in october yeah and the last year is nuts i didn't hear it it's like sexy man nuts it's romantic it's saxophones it's trumpets and flutes and saxophones all over it is what I'm saying. Sexy man nuts.
Starting point is 01:20:50 The inflection is important there. And then he followed over. There's just trumpets and flutes everywhere. I hate this song. Lions and tires and bears. Oh, my. Oh, man. Yo, my home.
Starting point is 01:21:03 That was good, though. Wait, hold up My girl put an album out I'm here today man Alicia Bella Who I love Snuck an album out Not snuck
Starting point is 01:21:19 But it's out And it's hard All of it Shout out to her and Justice It's all hard Yeah she's dope Wait a minute Justice what up And it's hard, all of it. Shout out to her and Justice. It's all hard. Yeah, she's dope. Wait a minute.
Starting point is 01:21:29 Justice, what up? Yeah, I'm on my music vibe. I got to put niggas on for Valentine's Day. You know what I mean? I can't have you looking chump when you grab the aux out there and she with you. You know what I mean? Give that little fake uh 80s bass line yo new music will never fail you it'll never fail you no no new music fails you Oh no. Oh. Oh. Oh no. Oh no. Ah. Yo, new music will never fail you.
Starting point is 01:22:07 It'll never fail you. No, no. New music fails you. Don't do that. New music fails you. I've definitely been failed. There's a lot of new music that came out that I can play right now. You be like, turn that shit off. I ain't going to play no more new music, but there's some more shit.
Starting point is 01:22:19 Look, I found a Trevor Jackson song that snuck by me in 2016. Damn. You're going to piss YouTube off. Fuck. Yeah, that's what I thought. Sid put out a record missing out. Not that powerful yet. Eric Bellinger, hit maker.
Starting point is 01:22:38 Take some of that dip off the chip, buddy. 1-800-HIT-EASY. Dope project. Really dope project. I mean, they're not going to miss the two of them togetherASY. Dope project. Really dope project. I mean, they're not going to miss the two of them together.
Starting point is 01:22:47 Yeah. I knew that, but Pink Sweats joint is really dope. I feel like some other stuff came out. Parks and Passport gift dropped album.
Starting point is 01:22:55 Saw that. Y'all put another one? Y'all working, y'all working. Yeah, we're working. Y'all working. No Hard Feelings 3?
Starting point is 01:23:01 Yep. That boy got to be tired of rhyming. Good. He can rap though. He can rap, though. He can rap, rap. When are you going to stop? A lot of albums.
Starting point is 01:23:11 When is he going to podcast? Jesus, Marion. Joseph. Yeah, we've been working. I didn't think we'd get it done in time, but we did. That's what's up. Yeah, he says that every time. He says that every time.
Starting point is 01:23:22 Well, moving and all that shit, it was hard. It was hard to get this shit done. But it's out. It'll be on all the DSPs. It's on Bandcamp exclusively for now. Dope. It'll be everywhere, I think, Friday. Go cop.
Starting point is 01:23:32 $10. Go cop. Quick 10. Go get you some. I seen leave her as the outro. Leave her? Can we admit that? It's a little more...
Starting point is 01:23:43 You can't get away from me. They can we admit that? They can never admit that can we just admit that you can't get you back, babe Only for revenge, babe Hit me back, babe Can we admit that? You can't get away from me And he finally got Rory. Gloria Estefan, please. I'm gonna play this because I like it. Is it a glorious hit? I like it.
Starting point is 01:24:19 I know. I shouldn't. You don't like it? Classic. I like it. You know Rory won't let me like this. It probably is the best joint on the album. I just want you to be consistent.
Starting point is 01:24:29 That's all. It's probably the best joint on the album. Hey. Yo, you see what I was doing on Valentine's Day. I honestly told you. Yeah, the world. What happened when this came through the bowls? Taking a lobster.
Starting point is 01:24:44 Yeah, he went to take a shit. Baby, I know. I got some beautiful stuff to part. My friends be frontin' on what come through the bowls. Bacon and lobster. No, from the bowels. Baby, I know. He was definitely on the toilet when this came through.
Starting point is 01:24:59 What you wanted, I know you got it. Hey, when this little part came on right here, I opened my eyes. Looked at her. Looked at her in the face. So, you gonna be breakfast in bed? Huh? So, she gonna be
Starting point is 01:25:13 breakfast in bed? Another meal. I opened my eyes. Hey. It's all provided by me. It's all provided by Joe. You really tried it, I can tell. Yeah, you need some of that. It's all provided by Joe What you do when you open your eyes
Starting point is 01:25:33 And just look up Baby That's what you said Just like he did Oh my That's what you did? To the ceiling? It was her
Starting point is 01:25:43 Oh okay The ceiling You think I'm a monster alone. I think I am a monster. No, you said you look at the ceiling. You look up. You say, oh. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:25:57 I'm not doing this with more. All right. Where are we at? D'Angelo is versusing someone. Everyone. We don't know who it is. It's the field. D'Angelo versus everyone. It's an the field. D'Angelo versus everyone.
Starting point is 01:26:05 It's an orgy. D'Angelo versus It's a gangbang. Pat Mahomes. Can he beat him? Who knows, man. Tom Brady can. D'Angelo versus friends.
Starting point is 01:26:14 Happy Valentine's Day, loved ones. Our gift to you live from the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Who do you think is pulling up to take on the King
Starting point is 01:26:19 February 27th? Sure to be a legendary night. I won't be there. No? Hell no. No, I'm going to watch that. Yeah, we can watch it. So I won't be there. No? Hell no. No, I'm going to watch that. Yeah, we can watch it. So you won't be there either.
Starting point is 01:26:28 Thank you for even knowing me. Oh, you mean not actually? Yeah, physically. Oh, okay. Are they selling tickets? I can't play the keyboard like that. Oh, well, we can. Well, New York, you know, February 23rd.
Starting point is 01:26:37 It's an indoor dining. I'll be home. Apple TV. Some people can go if they want. Well, are they selling tickets? Or are they just doing it at the Apollo I think everyone's watching from their home unless there's a dining thing
Starting point is 01:26:49 who is friends what is this and I want to know does someone come and it's one record versus one record and then we move on to the next friend this is one of those this could either be really interesting or really bad who is going to see music soul child
Starting point is 01:27:04 somebody say his name I'm confused. This could either be really interesting or really bad. Yeah. Who is going to see Music Soulchild? Somebody say his name. Hmm. He got records. Shut up, Rory. Okay. D'Angelo. Mad niggas would say his name.
Starting point is 01:27:15 Music? I don't know if mad niggas would say his name. Yeah. You got Music Soulchild fucked up. It's a few. It's a few R&B acts that can be. And I'm not saying D'Angelo can't. All right. Then tell Music to say Tyrese's name.
Starting point is 01:27:27 Then shut up then. That would be a good matchup. d'angelo all right then tell music to say tyree's name then shut up then that would be a good match then shut up then niggas gotta say his name let's go on patreon tonight i will bust your ass this music so child no you won't okay no you won't okay what is he talking about with tyree's yo i let you get off last pod telling me about, telling Parks and myself what records from volume one didn't sound like bad boy records, even though you were four. I let you get it off. I was not four when that album came out. How old were you when Ready to Die came out?
Starting point is 01:28:00 Seven. No, I was four when Ready to Die came out. It was four. I was talking about volume one. I'm talking about the first volume of Ready to Die. You four years old i let you get your shit off you're my man it's cool but now you know you can still listen i'm not you didn't have to be there in 1994 you still listen to it yes you did no but it's available now i know i know it's crazy to you but i can listen to it right now yeah but bne's ain't happening yes they are no they're
Starting point is 01:28:22 not yeah bne's ain't happening today like they was. Yeah, no, definitely not like that. Yeah, it's a different energy in the streets. Niggas ain't getting their head bopped off like they was back then. It's just different. But anyway, listen. We've talked about that on this podcast. Music Soulchild is my man.
Starting point is 01:28:35 Hypocrites. I've done a record with him that never saw the light of day. That's my guy guy, and his catalog is ill. He can't fuck with Tyrese. Yes, he can. Tyrese has a lot of records, though. I never said he didn't. And I get TGT.
Starting point is 01:28:48 I get Tyrese and TGT. Okay. Sorry, music. By the time we get into that second 20. The second 20? We're doing 40? Say Joe's name. I mean, second 10.
Starting point is 01:29:01 Say Joe's name. Music Soulchild is beating Joe. All right, let's move on, man. Let's move on, Rory. You got your R&B hierarchy a little fucked up. Let me not say that because music is subjective. I just disagree. I don't think he's taking care of Joe or
Starting point is 01:29:19 Tyrese. I didn't say it was going to be a cleanup. Or Brian McKnight. So who would you like to see in this? All of the guys with his name. And if he can't beat Tyrese, Joe, and Brian McKnight, then who's left for music to battle? No, don't disrespect music like that. Below.
Starting point is 01:29:37 Don't disrespect music like that. Yeah. See, y'all disrespect me. The fact that y'all think that Tyrese, Joe, and what was the third one? Music is in a tough spot. I'm just cleaning music soul child up. Have y'all ever listened to a music soul child song?
Starting point is 01:29:52 Yo, that's what music lovers always do. We take that cleaning or the washing word and we stay there. Stay here. I'm not doing that. I'm not backing off that hill. I'm not doing that. I'm just saying I think that those three would win against him. You think Brian McKnight is being music social?
Starting point is 01:30:10 Basically don't even agree with you. He's probably the one that I have guaranteed in the three, if you're asking me. Yeah. I love Brian McKnight. Brian been out since 94. His catalog is way. And when did it end? Get it to your shit, Joe.
Starting point is 01:30:33 Listen to that tenor. Can I request back at one? Hold up, hold up. Hey, he hey before the hook come on. Don't do that. Get it. Got it? He hate it before the hook come on. Don't do that. Get it. Because I never felt that way about nothing. Where the keys at?
Starting point is 01:30:56 Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo. You heard Parks? Listen to that tenor. Listen. Smooth. You can laugh with Parks. I'll remind Rory that he was two when Martin proposed. Now, Brian McNight is- Brian came out the bushes.
Starting point is 01:31:09 And I never felt- I threw this on a mixtape for sure in seventh grade. Come on, Rory. This was my shit. This ain't even probably one of my favorite Brian records. You can get into Brian's Christmas albums. I mean, I wouldn't. Are you allowed to play Christmas? I but oh wait brian was on let it snow you gotta play let it snow are you fucking kidding me it's snowing right now i'm done it don't gotta be christmas
Starting point is 01:31:41 wait brian was on i forgot when. See, Brian was out in the area when they was forcing the R&B niggas to make club records. Mm-hmm. So Brian still got our ill announcement. If you don't want it, don't waste her time. Come on, then you can get into that. Yeah, Brian got joints, man.
Starting point is 01:31:58 Anyway, off of this. What were we trying to talk about? We were talking about versus friends. Yeah, we're just naming friends. We're naming the friends. Yeah, Brian McKnight. But I feel worried because I want music to go against somebody, but he's in a tough spot. There is nobody.
Starting point is 01:32:08 He can't go against D'Angelo. He can't go against who the newer niggas? I thought Tyrese and Joe were good. Do you think Maxwell shows up for the D'Angelo battle? No. No? I think that's why it's friends. I think that they approached him with that, and he was like, no, I'm cool.
Starting point is 01:32:21 Really? Yeah, Maul's not lying. Ducking the smoke? We don't have to pretend like we knew what happened. Yeah, no. He asked Maxwell to do it. They approached Maxwell to do it. I believe Maxwell.
Starting point is 01:32:30 That shit was supposed to happen on Valentine's Day. Yeah. Maxwell dodged the smoke? I mean, we don't know what happened. He could be one of the friends. No, he's not. They're not friends. It's going to say Maxwell's name up there.
Starting point is 01:32:42 There's so many hip hop opinions that we can never give in hip hop. Like what? Cute on the ledge. Cute. What? Like what? Yeah, why not? Say them.
Starting point is 01:32:55 It's not a platform. You say it, nigga. You brought it up. Is Maxwell running from D'Angelo? No, I never said he was running. Don't make Rory mad because Rory will get mad if we run with him. No, Max. No, absolutely not.
Starting point is 01:33:06 I fuck with Max. Maxwell ain't running from nobody. I think it's hard. D'Angelo is our guy. Is Maxwell running from D'Angelo? No, I don't think so. That's a good matchup to me. I just think Maxwell
Starting point is 01:33:17 isn't at the worst stage of his career. I don't know. Do y'all think, because I agree with y'all, do you think Maxwell thinks it's a good matchup? Yes. No. How good matchup? Yes.
Starting point is 01:33:26 No. For him? How could he not? No. Mad ways. The same way all of these artists, when somebody tries to punch up, and I'm not talking about,
Starting point is 01:33:33 I don't know if that's punching up. I'm saying if I'm Maxwell, he probably views that as D'Angelo punching up. That's crazy. No, it's not. D'Angelo has a lot of classic records. And he wrote a lot of shit.
Starting point is 01:33:45 And he was featured on a lot of classic records. Y'all don't have to convince me. I'm just saying Maxwell. I think for Maxwell, he probably just the version. I just don't think he's there yet to sit down and play his catalog across from another artist and try to make it seem like a bad. I don't think he's with that. I don't think it has anything to do personally with D'Angelo. Who wins that if
Starting point is 01:34:05 it were to happen, Rory? Judging by popular hits, I think D'Angelo wins just because more of his records are to the masses. More noticeable, if you will. I don't think they're popular, though. They're more popular,
Starting point is 01:34:22 but I don't think they're popular. D'Angelo doesn't be more popular, yes. No, I don't think either of poppier. D'Angelo doesn't be more popular. Yes. Yeah. No I don't think either of them really are pop records but Maxwell has some borderline pop. Yo we can say it.
Starting point is 01:34:29 It's okay. D'Angelo doesn't be Yo we can love somebody and say it. No I love D'Angelo. I think D'Angelo wins to the masses in a versus.
Starting point is 01:34:36 No. I don't think so. Really? No. I still think it's a great matchup. This woman's worth? I hate when people
Starting point is 01:34:44 do that in verses. Just name a crazy record. Whenever. Like the other artists don't have crazy records. Well that's why I don't. This woman's worth? I hate when people do that in verses. Just name a crazy record. Whenever, wherever, whatever. The other artists don't have crazy records. Well, that's why I don't. What I like to do is give me the guaranteed points from whoever we're talking about. And for D'Angelo, for me, lady. Brown Sugar, maybe.
Starting point is 01:34:59 Cruisin'. No. One of the Cruisins. One of the Cruisins. Devil's Pie against Maxwell is not a guaranteed point. Nothing even matters is a guaranteed point. Three. Yes.
Starting point is 01:35:12 How does it feel as a guaranteed point? No. What? Because when you play against Maxwell. Not against Maxwell. This is what I'm saying. Not against Maxwell. Because if he plays a good matchup,
Starting point is 01:35:24 untitled versus this woman's work. I'm saying. Not against Maxwell. Because if he plays a matchup, untitled first, this woman's work. I'm not mad at that. But if you play that, right, if D'Angelo plays that and he follows that, this woman's work. And one is a cover and one isn't, if we want to get technical. All right, you know what? Let's give it to you, Rory. That's four.
Starting point is 01:35:37 And that's probably the extent of it for undeniable points for D'Angelo. Something, something? Maxwell. Come on, man. How does it feel? Wait, and you said brown sugar wasn't a guarantee? I don't think so. We've learned from this.
Starting point is 01:35:56 It's all when and how you play the record. How does it feel as a point, though? It should be. That's a point. But if you play this woman's work, I think that's a good matchup. I think that could go either way. When Maxwell got into that, whatever album it was, whatever two years it was where everything is going to be a better Kim record than Kim makes.
Starting point is 01:36:18 Like all of those gotta get to know you. Y'all know the ones that sound like they should be Kim records, but nah. Put the shit back up, the Maxwell list, because it was a bunch. Hold up. Luxury Coco Cure. Yeah, that album.
Starting point is 01:36:38 Urban Hanksweet is a classic classic. I love Embryo. You kind of got to be a weird R&B lover. D'Angelo is our It's going to be tough to deal with. You kind of got to be a weird R&B lover to really embrace. D'Angelo is our man, but it's probably for the best that Maxwell had a
Starting point is 01:36:50 gig that night. I don't know. D'Angelo has two of those, though. Yeah. Two of what? Two of those urban hang speeds.
Starting point is 01:36:58 Two classics. Yeah. And people like Black Messiah. I was ever a Black Messiah fan but the first two albums are super classic they're classics
Starting point is 01:37:08 no D'Angelo's that dude Maxwell just has enough classic material on albums that might not be considered classics like Embryo might not be a classic album to the masses
Starting point is 01:37:16 Embryo to me is me too that album is incredible me too that's why I said more noticeable records like I don't know how much he can play off
Starting point is 01:37:23 Embryo that is gonna to hit to a versus crowd. To me, that shit will hit. And hold on. We just skipping over Black Summer Night? That's a great album. Look. Pretty wins the point. Pretty wins the point.
Starting point is 01:37:36 Skipping over Black Summer Night like it wasn't some shit on. I don't know why we're trying to debate like this isn't a good battle. That album was phenomenal. I'm with you. It was a great battle. I just think that Maxwell is just not with doing that yet. He's not with the whole versus thing yet.
Starting point is 01:37:49 I don't think he's with that. I'm hitting a round of applause for Michael B. Jordan. Is this an apology? Or are we just clapping our hands? It's a two for one shot. You shot over 36 seconds left on the clock. Okay. There's a few men that I just want shot over 36 seconds left on the clock. Okay.
Starting point is 01:38:06 There's a few men that I just want to honor right now during Black History Month. Is it because Last Lap reopened? I would never know that. I'm not on their email list.
Starting point is 01:38:16 I can add you. Please don't. I'll text. My bad. I'll have them text you. Light-skinned Keisha right there, though. He got off that fast.
Starting point is 01:38:26 Put the screen back. This nigga. This fucking guy. Yo, who was I just talking about? Michael B. Jordan. Michael B. Jordan, man. Listen. I'll be the first one to say it.
Starting point is 01:38:42 Well, no. A few other people have said it. I'll be the fourth one to say it. Well, no. A few other people have said it. I'll be the fourth one to say it. Do I believe any of this? Not a shot in hell. Believe what? Nothing. I don't believe none of it.
Starting point is 01:38:56 None of it. None of it. Do I care? That's the answer. Yeah, there we go. There we go. Don't stop me there. It doesn't matter that I don't believe it.
Starting point is 01:39:04 I don't know what you're talking about. I haven't thought into it. I don't believe that this is a thing. Who cares? Nobody cares. Well, I have to care because of how I analyze things. And Lori's just been too much of a G for me to believe that now you're just on this promo run. I don't believe that.
Starting point is 01:39:20 You just did a promo run this weekend. I have done promo runs throughout my career. Lori Harvey has always been more gangster than I. So I'm judging her by her gangster, not mine. So I don't think any of this is real. I also don't think any of that matters. This is the best faking I have ever seen go on. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:39:44 I don't know. I don't know. Can y'all stop trying to corner Joe into a corner and just let me finish my point and then you guys can add a point. I don't know that this is fake. I think it's fake and I support it. It is the best faking I've seen. Hermes stock.
Starting point is 01:40:01 You got me some Hermes stock at an aquarium so I can look at turtles and my favorite animal is a turtle and my pet name is turtle she was on Entourage man stop the tape
Starting point is 01:40:17 hold up wait stop the tape how much dough can it what was the line y'all don't know that song
Starting point is 01:40:23 that's the only whole song y'all don't know. The one that he did with Puff that only I love that was on the Forever album. Oh, what? No. Nobody loves that song. Wait, bringing the bricks through BMI? Listen.
Starting point is 01:40:35 That's that shit. I'm in support of this fake shit. I'm highlighting this man as a great black. This is a great black man to fake this good i support it and i hope it lasts all right i respect that give him his flowers give him his flowers on valentine's day he's getting flowers for me he's killing this shit he's killing this shit whatever the point of this is it's working on Joe. I support this. Black man appreciation, number one.
Starting point is 01:41:11 Number two, and some more shit that Joe shouldn't be talking about at all, but I have to because nobody else will, Nick Cannon. What stocks he bought? Don't put nothing on the screen. You're always putting something on the screen. Like his job, baby. That's the fuck his problem is, more. Always putting some shit on the screen to help us fucking articulate some shit. That's crazy for Scream to do that.
Starting point is 01:41:33 Don't do that again. Nick Cannon, anybody? Nobody wants to talk about it. I didn't see what happened. Of course you didn't. Happened right underneath your fucking nose it happened right underneath what kind of stock seaboard
Starting point is 01:41:48 it was right here it parks the whole time you ain't even see it so let me give it to you a little dose and I'm not expounding on it I'm telling you what happened and I'm moving on
Starting point is 01:41:56 because men can't pay attention to this stuff we're not supposed to be messy or gossipy or chitty chatty but I'm just this is fly shit. I followed a young lady many years ago.
Starting point is 01:42:11 Sure. No, this wasn't many years ago. You know how you follow somebody and you don't know who they with? Sure. Listen, we just had boyfriend reveals. We don't know who's with who. So I followed this young lady. Oh, Nick got revealed?
Starting point is 01:42:21 I followed her. Let me tell this whole story, and then you can give me everything. I want to give it to you straight. I follow a young lady who was with Nick, and I didn't know, unbeknownst to me. And then there was another lady that, while these two were together, kept saying, Yo, that's my man. And Nick was so ill that the person I followed said, No, it ain't. It's my man and nick was so ill that the person i follow said no it ain't it's our man it's my man and your man i support him i'm not leaving him you shut up
Starting point is 01:42:55 bitch she didn't say that of course but okay so i'm just watching quiet then the person i followed popped up and said i can no longer do this understandable happens to the best of us men sure so she left and now there was the girl right the new girl and the new girl was pregnant the new girl got pregnant so that's understandable you get somebody, you leave the old girl. But while the new girl was pregnant and then Nick got sick, another girl posted a tattoo and said that she helped him through COVID and she healed him. And all of this is happening at the same time. Cut that COVID.
Starting point is 01:43:37 Nobody on the internet has said one word. And just when I thought I couldn't get crazier, right? Because that was just two weeks ago. Right. That was Nick's tattoo, sick. She loved him. they always give like the illest diatribe ever he's the illest nick in the world and i'm jealous and then somebody else popped up pregnant with twins listen man it takes a village two weeks later takes a village so he lost the original girl that I followed, but gained two baby moms and COVID bae in the process. And no one has uttered a word about it. Allegedly.
Starting point is 01:44:12 This nigga just still doing pull-ups in the garage. He's still fucking doing the dips like this. That's life for him. This is life. He out there still promoting shows. This is life. This ain't heavy for Nick. He out there still promoting shows.
Starting point is 01:44:22 This is life. This ain't heavy for Nick. If this guy is not, he's still doing, what's the thing he does at Harvard? Nick's Black Teachings. Yeah, I think that's the title, Joe. Nick's Black Teachings. I like that. Come on, man. Y'all know he's doing Nick's Black Teachings.
Starting point is 01:44:38 That's good branding. Come on, man. It's clever. If this is not the illest guy in the world, I ain't even set a mention of Mariah yet. I haven't said nothing about Mariah Carey. Why would you? When there's a caveat. Yeah, yeah, man. It's clever. If this is not the illest guy in the world, I ain't even said a mention of Mariah yet. Yeah. I haven't said nothing about Mariah Carey. Why would you? When that's a caveat.
Starting point is 01:44:49 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on, man. That's all I got, man. We gave Nick his allowances a long time ago, though. I know, but. Nick been a legend. But we gave it to him like he was Jeter walking away from the game. He's still in it.
Starting point is 01:45:00 He's still active. No, he's still winning. Yeah. It's still his. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You still got to beat him. He backed the cycle. Oh, my God. He's back up to bat again.
Starting point is 01:45:10 This guy's got to be stopped. They took Wildin' Out for him, and he's still Wildin' Out. Yeah, he's still Wildin' Out. They can't stop him from Wildin' Out. No, no, no, no, no. It's deeper than that. It's deeper than just a show. Oh, I can see that.
Starting point is 01:45:20 It's real life. Nigga was Wildin' Out without his man hollering him. For sure. Pull out for what? Michael B. Jordan, Nick Cannon, those are my two honorary Black Kings for Black History Month,
Starting point is 01:45:33 man. Respect to the legends. Oh, and Davis Chappelle. Oh, why not? Davis. I don't know who Davis is. This dropped the night we recorded.
Starting point is 01:45:41 Redemption song. I told y'all this was happening monthss ago man Yeah I'm glad it did though True And I like what Dave said And he said You know the dude
Starting point is 01:45:50 Up at Netflix Is younger than he is So it could've went bad It could've been A standoff where it was like No we're not paying We're not doing it And he said it wasn't
Starting point is 01:45:59 No problem at all No he didn't He didn't say The dude at Netflix Hold up Cause I wanna highlight that He said the dude At Viacom.
Starting point is 01:46:05 Okay, got you. Chris McCarthy. Yeah, Comedy Central. And I want to highlight that because it's super important. When I did my Love & Hip Hop deal in 2011 and 12, with absolutely no leverage, it was the most fucked up contract in the universe, and according to Viacom, it was all standard.
Starting point is 01:46:26 Corey wasn't powerful enough to fight him, and neither was I. We just signed it, and we were in a fuckity, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck deal. Right? Sure. When they double back in 2017 or whatever year that is, they say, hey, we need you to do this show. And I said, you got to be out your rabbit ass mind to think y'all are approaching me this way. So much would have to be different for this to occur.
Starting point is 01:46:50 I don't fuck with y'all. I don't fuck with y'all. Last time, I don't care what the standard is. I was riffing, riffing, riffing. But I was riffing to a new man. It was Chris McCarthy. OK, got you. Who wasn't there.
Starting point is 01:46:59 And now he's a black guy at the head of Viacom. And he realized that a lot of mistakes were made. And he wants to write them. Perfect. That's what you need to get it done. And he got it done. Everything I asked, everything I requested, didn't matter what the standards were, what happened last time, who was there before. None of it mattered.
Starting point is 01:47:17 He got it done. So that's who he's big up and more. And that's what he's saying. Hey, this guy's younger than me. So he wasn't there for some of the fucked up shit. He fixed it. And that's the same way I felt when he fixed some of that shit going on. So I just want to shout out to Chris.
Starting point is 01:47:31 He's alluding that luckily that he was younger because he's part of the generation that's trying to change things rather than the older people that I want to do the standard contract that they have lived and died by. I like the fact that he highlighted that. That was really powerful for Dave Chappelle to highlight that. You better believe it. You better believe it. Let me see. I asked you to stop watching the show. Thank God Almighty for you.
Starting point is 01:47:52 You did. Pardon me. You made that show worthless because without your eyes, it's nothing. And when you stopped watching it, they called me. I got my name back. I got my license back. And I got my show back. And they paid me millions of dollars thank you very much if that's not showing a blueprint
Starting point is 01:48:08 of how things could and should be done if you have enough leverage and you work hard enough and you walk away from the 50 mil and you wait however many years to get your your just due then what else will like we in the era we in the day and age where you're watching creators move around and do shit. Everybody's doing something different to monetize properly. So there's enough blueprints for you is what I'm saying. Like, you could do it this way. You could do it that way. You could do it this way.
Starting point is 01:48:38 There's mad different ways to do it as long as you do it. I ain't talking to creators. There's just so many excuses now about why you can't pod, why you can't make a song, why you can't get to the studio, why the video's not shot, why the song ain't on the radio, why your crew ain't, why the shows, why the tour, why this nigga excuses or results. Like this was so powerful.
Starting point is 01:48:58 Because you need hope. There needs to be an example that if done the right way, things can be done the right way. And we don't have enough of those. Shout out to David Chappelle. Shout out to Netflix. I can't wait to see what the new show looks like. I thought that it was obvious when this rant started that Netflix was coming back with the Chappelle show.
Starting point is 01:49:16 I'm glad that it's happening. I can't wait to see it. Chappelle is my favorite entertainer story, I think, ever. Yeah. To go through what he went through i think his his production company was pilot boy because he had done a thousand pilots and they never got picked up like chapelle didn't make it quote unquote make chapelle show was when he was like what 33 maybe and we know chapelle to start comedy when he was fucking 15 right so he went ups and
Starting point is 01:49:42 downs caught a lick here and there, shot a movie that's now a cult classic but bombed at the box office like half-baked, was trash when it came out. It's a cult classic now. Went on,
Starting point is 01:49:53 created the greatest sketch show ever for two seasons, got to what he thought he wanted to get to, finally got it, said, I'm not doing this shit.
Starting point is 01:50:01 I don't care if you're about to offer me this much money. Disappeared, got called a fucking crackhead, came back on his terms with his friends took back all the bullshit from the Chappelle show that made him leave when he was at the quote-unquote height it's the greatest thing I've ever seen yeah it's the greatest entertainer story
Starting point is 01:50:17 I like I like the fact that um you know again it just shows once the audience once the people decide to come together on something for a cause the type of change that it can manifest and that was important you know that when he asked us to not stream it not watch it not click on it that the fans did and it worked it worked it worked stop we stopped we didn't watch it we didn't support it on that platform and ultimately the creator and the guy that we love got what he wanted and got what he deserved so came came back on his terms turned down that 50 million in 04 right got it 10 times over moved to ohio like this is the greatest story of doing shit on your own terms when you know you're correct no matter how long it takes legend legendary you know i don't think it gets much
Starting point is 01:51:02 better than this type of story from his era. I think it'll get easier because of him and the bullshit he had to go through. I like to see the success story of someone that's still very young and has a mad career ahead of him. Yeah. Thanks, Chappelle. Thank you. Appreciate you. Legend.
Starting point is 01:51:20 Genius. All of that. More unfortunate news to get to. Yeah. Very much so Robert Mirage Father of Nicki Minaj Is killed in hit and run He died in hospital
Starting point is 01:51:32 On Saturday After being struck On Friday evening In Mineola, New York On Long Island Authorities said This was just a really sad story To hear over the weekend
Starting point is 01:51:41 Tragic Absolutely Super tragic Praying for Praying for Nick. Whole family. Yeah, this is Varth. And they still don't have no suspects?
Starting point is 01:51:52 Because of the hit and run, obviously. At the time I read it, they didn't have any, no. Yeah, that's sad. This ruins Valentine's Day forever for them. For a family. Yeah, life is for them now. It's now always a reminder of tragedy.
Starting point is 01:52:07 So, boy, is that sad. The Nassau Police Department said this homicide squad was in there. Well, they should have cameras. They caught something. I'm sure something. Maybe, yeah.
Starting point is 01:52:17 Sometimes those smaller, I don't know how big Mineola is, but it's not like New York City where there's cameras everywhere. But a lot of, something I've been noticing, a lot of crimes and stuff that's happening in neighbors like like that especially hit and runs a lot of people have uh ring cameras on their doors yeah and that's how they're finding
Starting point is 01:52:34 cars speeding through the block you know so hopefully they you know somebody comes forward and yeah somebody is uh apprehended for this because this is tragedy just because of her notoriety they reported on it right away. I'm sure there's some investigation where there is hopefully some cameras around. But they reported right away, obviously, because Nicki is so famous.
Starting point is 01:52:53 Those ring cameras need better resolution. I know they're good for when the block is small or when the street is small. It's like your person is right up on the door. Yeah, but when they stole my car out,
Starting point is 01:53:06 the cops were searching the neighbor's ring lights, and it's too far to get anything. The resolution is not the greatest. But prayers to Nicki Minaj, her entire family. Really unfortunate news this past weekend. Yeah, absolutely. More unfortunate news. When I saw this post, i didn't take the time to
Starting point is 01:53:26 read it because i thought this was an anniversary post of something that happened of something that happened a car accident this i got in but i read it today and this is just scary to read today uh sahi says today is a day about love but in my city the city of atlanta there's no love here anymore a couple nights ago there was an attempt on my life. Someone tried to gun me down on the highway. I tried everything I could to lose them, but they were adamant about taking me off this earth. They were shooting at me while I was driving. And even after my car flipped, hit a pole and crashed into a tree, they came back and shot the car up some more. At this point, I don't know if it was a mistaken identity a robbery or associated with with something that I hadn't wait I'm skipping lines at this point I don't know if it was a
Starting point is 01:54:11 mistaken identity a robbery or associated with something that I did when I was younger but I haven't been in the streets in over a decade see that's the real scary part yeah I just want to know why look at that that next line you never hear I love sign I just want to know why. Look at that. That next line, you never hear it. I love sign. I just want to know why. And if there's anything I can do to fix the issue, I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and I have tremendous love for my city, but it's chaotic out here. I'm trying my best to keep a level head, but when you don't know who is after you, it's hard to wrap your mind around it and not be, and not be paranoid. By the grace of God, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I'm still here. I just want to let the people know who were trying to kill me
Starting point is 01:54:50 that I'm not a bad person. I don't want revenge. I just want understanding and closure. So everyone that's in Atlanta right now, please protect yourself, stay out of the way and be careful because it could all be over in a split second. I understand there's a lot of beef going on in my city between different crews that is fueled by by the music can you scroll screaming i can read faster than that but it is time that we all have a sit down and have a peace meeting there are two there are too many lives being lost over music i know i'm not the king of my city or anything but the real leaders i won't say no names but you guys know who you are. You all are extremely blessed to have the careers that you have that you have and to be able to feed your family and loved ones. It's time to stop the violence in Atlanta. I don't have all the answers and I definitely don't have the power to make it stop.
Starting point is 01:55:36 But I do feel like somebody got to step up and say something so much. So much love to every artist, label, hustler and crew in my city. Please, let's resolve our problems, man. We don't have to kill each other. Shaking my head, thanks again, Atlanta. I wrote this letter to y'all with tears in my eyes. Really glad he's okay. Word. Yeah, I read that, man.
Starting point is 01:55:59 These pictures were... That's terrifying. Insane. And to know that bullets were involved along with this car crash makes it crazier to escape both of those things yeah so i'm glad sahai is blessed in that capacity yeah this was uh this was one of the one of those moments you read something like this and you see these pictures and then you know a guy Saha, he doesn't really put that type of energy out there, like that violent, aggressive energy.
Starting point is 01:56:30 So for him to post something like this and having dealt with something like this, and then the words he was using, like I just wanna understand and I don't want revenge, I just wanna know why were y'all acting mean. You know that feeling, yeah. That's deep. You just wanna know why was y'all shooting at me?
Starting point is 01:56:44 Why were y'all trying to kill me? What did I do? I have this conversation with people from Atlanta all the time. I feel a way about living anywhere where it's open carry. That's me. Maybe that's because I've been in New York, from New York. I just view situations differently when all of us here are allowed to show our guns. For me, yes, I don't put this energy out there.
Starting point is 01:57:11 But it's about four different times where he speaks about the violence that's just been in the city having nothing to do with him. Right. So, I mean, there clearly is an energy that I'm hearing a few different people from Atlanta speak about. That's Atlanta's business. I don't really know what to say about it, but when you read these words from an artist that we love like Sahai, it helps to put things into perspective. When you look at some of the murders that we've seen, when you just hear some of the people that we fuck with from atlanta talk about the energy out there right now listen i know atlanta's open i know i know it's chicks out
Starting point is 01:57:50 there niggas is going out there to get mixy the hookah lounge i understand that but you got to understand a few other things as well and and that's all i'll say to that this guy's bentley looks fucked up and it has to be nothing scarier than somebody shooting at you on the road word yeah in a car yeah whether while you parked or moving you flip over and they still trying to shoot at you yeah that sounds like a hit yeah it's not a ride I can understand where his paranoia comes from absolutely yeah I need to know so I know if I could even go back outside period word and can I squash it can I piece it up can I let you know that the nigga you might be looking for is not me yeah right right but that's why I said his words Can I piece it up? Can I let you know that the nigga you might be looking for is not me?
Starting point is 01:58:25 Right. But that's why I said his words was, you know, it just hit different because it wasn't a revengeful tone. He was really like, fam, why are y'all talking to me?
Starting point is 01:58:37 Right. You know what I'm saying? I just want to know, understand what's going on. I want to, let's squash it. Let's talk about it. He's not talking from a revenge standpoint.
Starting point is 01:58:45 He's literally like, fam, why were y'all trying to kill me like i'm not even in the streets like been minding my business as someone that loves hip-hop this has to this has to put you at a fork in the road this has to conflict you like we love this shit so we in it and we understand things that shouldn't be understandable because we're in it and our love for it but when you read stories like this when you look at pictures like this when you just witness some of the shit that we've witnessed in the last year and change in hip-hop it'll challenge you it'll it'll challenge it'll challenge you and your moral compass i'll say that yeah and as. And as I age and get older, I find that happening a lot.
Starting point is 01:59:28 Actually, over the news, just this week, y'all know I'm mental health, man. It ain't too many guys that are more willing to die on the mental health hill than me. And on the news, they're talking about 21, it was stabbings in New York. Stabbings. A dude running around stabbing people on the train station. Oh, yeah yeah A train specifically Yeah Yeah man
Starting point is 01:59:48 Can you Man now I don't ride the train But imagine just being on a train Sleep Cause that's what we used to do On a train Sleep Somebody just come up to you
Starting point is 01:59:54 And start stabbing you Two of those people Lost their lives Two people died A third was rushed somewhere They found the guy It's a 21 year old kid My heart wept
Starting point is 02:00:01 Damn near cried watching the news 21 years old Running around This is what you're doing. Takes me to mental health. Now what side of the fence do we fall on? Are you mental health man or are you, hey, people shouldn't stab people on the train? It's okay to be both. Yeah, it's okay to try to tackle mental health before it gets to this point.
Starting point is 02:00:24 No, it's not. That's not the country we live in. We're not able to compartmentalize our compassion. Like, nobody's running around saying R. Kelly's a victim too. That's not where we are. No, I'm saying that if we did focus on it, we could maybe get to him before this event happens. They said the guy was homeless. this event happens?
Starting point is 02:00:43 They said the guy was homeless. Got me to thinking about all the mental health people that could be homeless, that are just doing whatever they need to do, going through whatever they need to, whatever they're going through, trying to survive on the street.
Starting point is 02:01:00 That's something that hasn't changed. As I watch these docs from the 70s and 80s when they're turning hotels into residential spaces. Did you watch the Cecil Hotel thing? Gonna get into that next. Yes. I watched it as well. Yeah, actually, in there they did it.
Starting point is 02:01:14 In the Reagan shit, in the Reagan doc, they were clearing shit out for the homeless to live residentially somewhere. Actually, I've seen that in a lot of docs. I didn't know that that was such a common thing. Me either. But it's here. So that really, really, really saddened me.
Starting point is 02:01:29 I was happy that they caught the guy and got him off the street, but it led me to just down the long road of either homeless people that have killed or have been killed at the hands of mental health in our country not really paying enough attention or doing enough about it. So they're going to throw this kid in jail, and that's going to be it. It's not going to be rehabilitation right it's not gonna be nobody's paying money for you to go to a therapist or a psychologist or to put you where you need to be
Starting point is 02:01:51 right cool right moving on now moving on because we get conflicted about things and i'm gonna talk about this again because none of y'all are but it's important and i not going to expound too much. Transgenders. Transgenders. On Instagram. I'm having this conversation because it's an important conversation that should be had in hip hop. Same way I was split between the mental health shit and we all listen i know where
Starting point is 02:02:25 everybody's hearts lie in this room so i know that we all cool with everybody identifying with and how ever they need to identify right but in this instagram era y'all know what's going on in the dms we meeting up we linking we doing xyz so forth and so on right that's happening there's a culture of that happening yeah there's also a culture of transgenders doing that. Yeah, I'm sure. On Instagram, I wasn't sure. I didn't know. It's not my world.
Starting point is 02:02:50 I don't pay attention to it. This isn't a joke that became a joke. What happened to Young Buck? When it hits my radar, again, remember in the stock shit, I was like, I love when information trickles down and hits people that shouldn't know about it. Same thing here. I don't have any business knowing about any transgender stuff at all but in hip-hop this could get dangerous real fast
Starting point is 02:03:08 my conversation i had with uh i think that was carmen on couples therapy we were in a pool and she was talking about hey i like that's my right to share something or not share it and it's where it gets tricky it's where fork. That's where it's a fork in the road. Now, I'm talking about people that have gotten the surgery. So you're not going to know. There's no dick. There's no nothing. But there are
Starting point is 02:03:36 straight men in hip-hop that are actively sleeping with people without all the information. Straight men, period. It doesn't have to be a hip hop thing. Yeah. True. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:03:48 I remember back in my dating app era, it was very common to like come across a beautiful person that you've swiped right on. Now you're having a conversation. You find out later that they're trans and you're like, Oh, I'm not, that's not my thing.
Starting point is 02:04:02 No disrespect. Listen, Carmen was beautiful on the Couples Therapy Show a few years ago a few years ago on Twitter. I forgot her name but it was a famous transgender.
Starting point is 02:04:12 She was beautiful too. I remember that picture. That picture is circulating. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Listen, it'd be beautiful and I'm not having this conversation for the people
Starting point is 02:04:19 that are pansexual, homosexual or attracted to that whatever attracted to them not that because this is sincere. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm not talking about y'all. But boy, it's going to be bad when some of these niggas
Starting point is 02:04:33 start finding shit out as we move in and stepping. That's all I'm going to say, because it's not my place. But it is happening. Yeah. I'm saying this to the women, too. Hold up, Rory. Let me say this to the women too hold up rory let me say this to the women too because women are traveling with women knowing things about the women and not divulging that in your circles it could get bad you could potentially get someone killed or hurt or kidnapped or something.
Starting point is 02:05:06 Embarrassed or any number of things. Well, that's where the violence comes because the man is embarrassed. Joe loves all. Joe has love for all. And it's just not good to play with people's reality like that. You know what I mean? You should tell somebody that. You should give them that because you don't know if they don't subscribe to that.'t subscribe to that if i had surgery i wouldn't tell somebody either probably why not though i just
Starting point is 02:05:29 think it's a safety thing i might i might feel like it's none of someone's business i might feel like that i think if you're sleeping with somebody you should definitely give them information about what your natural gender is. Well, people... Why? I'm not asking that. No, I'm just saying. I'm saying when I've had this conversation with transgender people, they say, well, why do I need to do that?
Starting point is 02:05:53 Yeah, absolutely. I disagree. I just think it's a straight-up safety thing. I mean, I disagree. I don't have the space to disagree. But what I'm saying is straight people sleep with each other all the time without divulging certain shit
Starting point is 02:06:03 about their sexual history, their fucking STDs, what they're saying, what they're texting, what I'm saying. They should give that information as well. So if I'm transgender, I mean,
Starting point is 02:06:12 and I view it that way, then what is the difference? I'm not having that argument with you guys. I'm just saying I understand how someone could feel like, no, I'm not telling you. I'm not saying they have to announce it to the world and put it on their instagram and all of that but if you're not being
Starting point is 02:06:29 in intimate settings with somebody one-on-one you should absolutely give that person that information i'm not saying you have to run around and tell the world and yeah i'm trans i'm you you you're able to i mean be who you are be proud of who you are i'm not i'm definitely a fan of that but when you talk about getting intimate with somebody now you should absolutely give them that information like hey listen i understand we vibe when we're feeling each other i just think i should let you know that i was born whatever you know i'm saying like i just think you should tell that person that i think that person has that right to know that i think they do i don't even know what's a right again i I just think I know the real world. Nigga might call you a liar.
Starting point is 02:07:05 I just know the real world and how men may react, and that woman or man could be harmed. Yeah, but now imagine if you go ahead, go forward with sex. I'm not saying that's right. I just live in the real world. You're talking about speaking before sex. Yes. I'm saying, so Matt, you're saying somebody would be mad before even having sex with this person. I can see that.
Starting point is 02:07:24 So imagine now if you don't tell this person This information They could be really Really upset This is all I'm saying You know what I mean Just tell Listen I live in the real world
Starting point is 02:07:30 That's all I'm saying And it's a safety thing For transgender people to me To not tell No That it should be Brought up Before sex
Starting point is 02:07:39 Have the conversation For a safety reason I'm with you Because men And people period Are fucking nuts And it's just not good To play with somebody's reality Like that Like you know. I'm with you. Because men and people, period, are fucking nuts. And it's just not good to play with somebody's reality like that. Like, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 02:07:49 If somebody's heterosexual and they feel like they're laying down with a person of opposite sex. Now, when you're trans, you identify as that. But we're talking about what your original birth gender is. I think people should, you should tell people that information. I agree. Listen, I wish the whole world would just accept everyone
Starting point is 02:08:08 for who they are, but I'm in the real world. That's why, that's another reason why you should tell because it's like, be who you are. I didn't mean to take us down
Starting point is 02:08:15 this very serious trip. I don't even think we're the pod that should discuss it. No, but we're men and we can come into these situations. But I thought it needed
Starting point is 02:08:24 to be discussed. Yeah. There was too many people saying too many things from different places. Right. That's it. That's it. Yeah, but no,
Starting point is 02:08:35 that's why I said it. You should absolutely have that conversation. Please just be careful. Especially if you're in an intimate one-on-one type of setting or vibe
Starting point is 02:08:42 with this person. And everybody, and this is not just a transgender conversation during these intimate link-ups we should all be careful with showing our addresses getting with strangers letting strangers in our house or going to their houses not knowing if people are certifiably nuts and psycho not knowing if people are obsessive have abandonment issues if people have nothing better to do
Starting point is 02:09:05 than ruin your life for the next few years. Like, we don't know nothing about nothing. And we just out here. So I want to encourage everybody to just, you know what I mean, move right. Move right out there, that's all. Sorry, guys. No, agreed.
Starting point is 02:09:17 And even when we brought up straight people not saying their sexual history, STD, last time you got checked, all that, yeah, you should. Yeah. It's not a transgender thing. It's just an everyone fucking thing. I've heard stories of people going to a girl's house and
Starting point is 02:09:33 finding out after intercourse that they had herpes or something. That's crazy to not divulge that information. Yeah. Very much so. And with that said, we finally got a
Starting point is 02:09:46 Justin Timberlake apology. No, not for man in the woods. Not for man in the woods. He didn't apologize for that art? Not, not, not at all. He apologized for, they was on his ass. They was on his ass.
Starting point is 02:10:00 He said he didn't see the Britney doc, right? No. You should watch it. What network? Hulu. It's a New York Times. Hey, Hulu.
Starting point is 02:10:06 I haven't even opened Hulu. No, I got some shit on there. They do. And I saw a great review. So the Britney doc. Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah, I got to watch that. Actually, matter of fact, I might do that.
Starting point is 02:10:14 I think it's only an hour. So it's not like a long watch. Got you. HBO's back with some Woody Allen shit. Creeper. Four part doc. I'm hype. I'm hype. I'm hype.
Starting point is 02:10:25 We'll get to TV after this. And while we're on, will we? Oh yeah, there's TV to get to. Your honor. All right, apology.
Starting point is 02:10:33 Yeah, I'm not reading this shit. I'm not doing that. Why not? I'm not doing that. You read it. That's your guy. You read it.
Starting point is 02:10:39 All right. I've seen the messages, tags, comments, and concerns. I was going to say, just that first sentence is hilarious. What? Come on, he's telling you what and concerns. Stop right there. I was going to say, just that first sentence is hilarious. What?
Starting point is 02:10:46 Come on, Mom. He telling you what he saw? Mom, tell the truth. And I want to respond. I am deeply sorry for the times in my life when my actions contributed to the problem where I spoke out of turn or did not speak up for what was right. I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefited from a system that condones misogyny and racism.
Starting point is 02:11:02 I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson, both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed. I also feel compelled to respond in part because everyone involved deserves better. And most importantly, because this is a larger conversation that I wholeheartedly want to be part of and grow from. The industry is flawed. It sets men, especially white men, up for success. It's designed this way. As a man in a privileged position, I have to be vocal about this. Because of my ignorance, I didn't recognize it for all that it was while it was happening in my own life, but I do not want to ever benefit from others being pulled down again. I have not been perfect
Starting point is 02:11:42 in navigating all of this throughout my career. I know this apology is a first step and doesn't absolve the past. I want to take accountability for my own missteps in all of this as well as be part of a world that uplifts
Starting point is 02:11:54 and supports. I care deeply about the well-being of the people I love and have loved. I can do better and I will do better. Signed sincerely,
Starting point is 02:12:02 Man in the Woods. Signed, sealed, delivered. He's yours. I'm writing this in the woods Signed, sealed, delivered He's yours I'm writing this from the woods So what you said Corey That's a white privilege at it's best Well yeah He kinda alluded to that
Starting point is 02:12:17 He understands the white privilege In America Did he understand it The last 12 years Yeah he did Or was this a new epiphany That him and the Biebs had? No, he did. And I'm pretty sure there's an album
Starting point is 02:12:27 coming soon. He was getting some heat from the Britney doc, I'm sure. In every Super Bowl, he gets heat. These white Justins. I have not heard a Bieber song the same since. Yeah, I haven't heard a Bieber song since. He ain't put
Starting point is 02:12:43 out heat like he did with All I Wanted You and all that but still does he go crazy in the Britney doc or something it's it really just kind of tells the story of her the way that the world kind of treated her and he was kind of
Starting point is 02:13:00 a piece of shit at the time like she was publicly saying hey protect my virginity or whatever and then he goes on a radio show like, yeah, beat. I should edit my laugh. The way you said it. White privilege.
Starting point is 02:13:13 White privilege. We're not doing that. We're not editing your laugh. That's not where we are. White privilege. Yeah, beat. I mean, that's what he said.
Starting point is 02:13:24 I mean, you know, he was young To be fair Yeah He was young He was a young man But I mean I like Justin
Starting point is 02:13:31 I can't say nothing bad about him That album was terrible But I like him I do too And I gotta watch that doc Now that y'all say This is all connected
Starting point is 02:13:39 Yeah I'm so glad I don't Separate the music From the people Like I got Maris already I people. Like, I got mirrors already. I got bye-bye-bye. I got gone. I'm cool.
Starting point is 02:13:50 Do you do that now? I got suit and tie. Yeah, but unless you do some real piece of shit things. I feel like we've had that conversation. We've talked about Tom Brady and other artists. Yeah, me too. We've talked about Tom Brady and music artists as well, where you said you couldn't
Starting point is 02:14:06 disconnect the artist from the person or the athlete from the person oh that's not the point I'm making here that's true that's true
Starting point is 02:14:12 because I feel like you said that I'm saying like once I get the music from you then I'm cool what if you drop
Starting point is 02:14:19 some fire tomorrow yeah now that you have more information that would be different I don't know and I gotta say like I know
Starting point is 02:14:26 it's 12 years too late but at least it's something. Yeah. And then again I don't he didn't he didn't do anything. Thanks Mark.
Starting point is 02:14:34 I think that that was that was incredibly insane. Like he didn't do no wild shit he have going on radio and said he had sex with Brittany
Starting point is 02:14:41 when she told him not to like put that information out there. No. Shouldn't have done that. But he was young.
Starting point is 02:14:45 What were they like 19 at the time? They were teenagers. Yeah, something like that. Early 20s maybe. He left niggas out too dry. You can understand that. I'm not rolling. But like somebody like dude.
Starting point is 02:14:54 I'm not rolling. What you saying? Maul come on in and be the main person. He's canceled forever. He's our spokesperson when it comes to protect women. Maul.
Starting point is 02:15:01 About what? Not letting him get that off with this guy who failed to do so for 12 years and just recently said oh i see the message man get the fuck out of here yeah but no but that fuck but that wasn't that wasn't this isn't something that's like a celebrity relationship no it's not about that this isn't something that's like that's just shit he didn't do no wild crazy shit really though okay like he's he said that he was having sex with his girlfriend
Starting point is 02:15:24 when maybe she didn't want that to be out there. Well, that's what I was asking because I don't really remember the Britney. I remember they were dating. I don't remember what happened bad.
Starting point is 02:15:31 I wasn't paying attention to that. Of course, I remember the Janet thing. That's what I'm saying. What happened in the doc? I'll have to watch it. I don't know how toxic
Starting point is 02:15:40 their relationship was. I didn't pay attention. No, it wasn't that crazy. It wasn't that crazy, honestly. Well, that's what I'm saying. I don't remember it being that crazy. I'll have to watch the doc to get more, I guess, behind the scenes details about their relationship was. I didn't pay attention to it. No, it wasn't that crazy. It wasn't that crazy, honestly. Well, that's what I'm saying. I don't remember it being that crazy. I'm going to have to watch the doc to get more, I guess, behind the scenes details about their relationship. I guess the thing with the Britney thing is that it may or may not have led to the spiral
Starting point is 02:15:55 that led to Britney's whole life being controlled by her father who was never around when she was a kid. And she can't get out of her, what do they call that shit? Conservative ship. Where other people are basically running her what do they call that shit? Conservative conservative ship where like other people are basically running her life because they said she was crazy because the Janet shit
Starting point is 02:16:10 they both planned they both were a part of the coordinating it that was going to be my next thing and then it happened and she got banned
Starting point is 02:16:21 and put under all the scrutiny in the world for the next however many years and he went on a continuous career and performed a two-bowl, even. Okay. If it's cool with you, it's cool with me. Don't worry about it.
Starting point is 02:16:33 So he's canceled for that? I'm not telling you to cancel. I don't fuck with him. Okay. I'm not telling y'all who to cancel and who to not cancel. But no, but you said I'm the guy that goes to bat for, like, protecting women and all that. Like, I just don't see where he was in a position where he didn't protect a woman. Got it.
Starting point is 02:16:49 The women will explain it to you, not me. What else we got? You just said they planned that. What are you talking about? Got it. Listen, the women will talk to you. It's not my place. You feel how you feel about Justin.
Starting point is 02:16:58 I do need a little bit more education on the Jada thing too, though. That's all I'm saying. I don't see where he was wrong in that. Maybe he didn't come out and say, yeah, we planned this together and whatever, whatever. But it's like, okay, I'm sure when that happened
Starting point is 02:17:09 or they planned that. He didn't say anything in support of it. I'm sure when they planned that. He didn't say one word. They both knew like this could backfire. Oh, well, shut up. No, you shut up. Nigga, you don't think
Starting point is 02:17:19 that they had to talk about that? They wouldn't both know that this could backfire? You don't think Janet knew that? No. Now you shut up if you think Janet didn't know that. I don't think that. Okay't both know that this could backfire you don't think janet knew that no now you shut up you think janet didn't know that i don't think that okay i know you think janet had an inclination that what ended up happening would happen when she played that's what you say her
Starting point is 02:17:35 nipple was exposed on the biggest event on television that it could backfire i think janet jackson absolutely knew that got it and i think she didn't give a fuck. Got it. That's what I think. Let the woman talk to you. Let him talk to you. I know what I'm talking about. What else we got? You want to do TV? Let's go to TV.
Starting point is 02:17:54 Let's do some TV. Well, quickly, let's start with, you guys did watch the hotel Cecil. I did. I did. Because we were talking about mental health. Yo, man. What was my guy's name? In the Cecil Hotel?
Starting point is 02:18:06 Your guy? Nah, the guy that they tried to, the heavy metal guy that they pinned it on ruined his whole life. Oh, I forgot his name. Matt, damn, Menace or something like that? Fuck. Something like that.
Starting point is 02:18:15 He had some fire, though. Morbid. Morbid. Morbid had some joints. But the video he put out, like, trying to say it wasn't me, it was like, fam, come on. He said, this is morbid.
Starting point is 02:18:24 This is a spoiler alert. I didn't do it. Yeah, He said, this is morbid. This is a spoiler alert. I didn't do it. Yeah, like, it's like, fam. This is a spoiler alert. Come on, come on. Like, cut it out. We're telling you the movie now. No, we're not.
Starting point is 02:18:31 No, not really. Oh. No, we're not. But it was good, though. If you didn't see this doc, it's a hotel Cecil. We can't talk much about it if we don't spoil anything. Morbid dude was foul. No, he wasn't.
Starting point is 02:18:42 Did you see it? Yeah, I don't think he seen it. I saw it. So how was he found? He didn't do nothing but stay at the hotel a year before. And they killed him and ruined his career and made him attempt suicide because he was so depressed. He was nowhere around when that shit happened. So y'all bought his explanation.
Starting point is 02:18:57 There's paperwork showing where that is. It was a fact. Passport is stamped. He didn't even explain himself. And he was in Mexico at a recording studio the night that that shit happened. Right. Oh, no. I don't think he did it.
Starting point is 02:19:08 Oh, you said he fell. Yeah, he is fell. I thought he was trying to get a little Tekashi shine out the situation. Nah. Oh, well. Fam. I didn't like his video. You shot a video where she died.
Starting point is 02:19:18 But he does that settle. You made it before. They found that. Yeah, they found it. They didn't even know about the case. Well, he made a new song after she died. No, he didn't. I killed you. No, he didn't. No, he didn't. I killed you.
Starting point is 02:19:26 No, he didn't. That was his catalog. That was his catalog. Now you're being Takashi. Yeah, he had four albums like that before. Now you're lying and making up narratives.
Starting point is 02:19:33 All right, so y'all felt him when he was like, and now we're really spoiling shit, but y'all felt him when he was like, morbid is my inner thoughts acting out.
Starting point is 02:19:43 Yes. I can be and do anything. I think rappers do that. Yeah. And he was doing that before this happened. And all the records they said were confessions were before he even knew what the case was. Get him off the streets.
Starting point is 02:19:56 Shout out to Maura. He didn't do shit. Get him out of here. He did nothing. Clean up the neighborhood. I didn't like when he was doing his makeup on camera. I was with him. Yeah, get him.
Starting point is 02:20:08 Yeah, nah, that's fucked up. The YouTube people are going to find somebody that they need to arrest. Yeah, this was good. He was an innocent man. Nah, but that, listen, man. I know he was talking about the hotel Cecil being the portal to hell, and that's the weird shit,
Starting point is 02:20:22 but he was also talking about the internet, and I thought he got on some double entendre shit. The internet is the portal to hell and that's the weird shit but he was also talking about the internet and I thought he got on some double entendre shit. The internet is the portal to fucking hell. It might be actually. All these fucking YouTube investigators who think they're police
Starting point is 02:20:33 and just start trying to ruin people's lives. Yeah. Rest in peace when Pop Smoke died and they went after his friend all in his comments and said his friend did it.
Starting point is 02:20:42 He's the killer. Can y'all shut the fuck up for a second? Yeah, that was crazy. Stop doing this to people yeah it's crazy yeah it is and then when the facts come out y'all don't say a word right no quiet anytime the internet accuses somebody of something and then the facts come out that person never gets a gets an apology no word they just move on to the next person that they want to victimize exactly it's fucking nuts it is yeah this documentary was good though it was good it definitely could have been two episodes
Starting point is 02:21:05 but it's fine I like how they tied it in to the night stalker yeah like he used to stay there yeah I see how they tied it they dragged this shit man
Starting point is 02:21:12 they dragged it they dragged it I'll say from they did drag it they dragged it this will be a I guess don't spoil it
Starting point is 02:21:18 please don't don't spoil it please don't don't kill us for this okay I won't say what it was but when I watched the trailer and they said
Starting point is 02:21:24 what it was in the trailer I didn't need to see the rest of it. I've been around two people that have that, and I could identify that right away as someone that's not a clinical doctor. Yeah. We could see it from the footage. The whole time, and you know I'm a conspiracy theorist and I believe in ghosts. I was with all the theories they were coming up with but in the back of my head I said,
Starting point is 02:21:49 yeah, I know what the real deal is right now. I've been around two people that do this. Great doc though. It was a good doc. It was a good doc. Now this doc, Lady and the Dale, Lady and the Dale. That's the one.
Starting point is 02:22:01 Joe, you were talking about this one. That's the one. That's the one. I gotta watch this. None of these other docs are even. That's the one. I got to watch this. None of these other docs are even important, but you don't know that until you watch this. And I watched this just because I watched all the other ones already. I was like, you know what?
Starting point is 02:22:14 HBO, it's a car. Where can it go? I like cars. So Lady and the Dale is on HBO Max. And this is about a man who wanted to revolutionize the automobile industry
Starting point is 02:22:29 with a three wheel car in the 70s late 60s 70s somewhere around there and the thinking was that the lighter the car
Starting point is 02:22:38 the less gas the car needed more affordable the thinking back then was this is when I guess neil armstrong had just went to the moon recently um and automobile or the automobile industry along with other people were trying to figure out how that tech could be implemented into regular shit that's the explanation they gave got you so i thought i was watching a doc. I watch American Greed, so I'm
Starting point is 02:23:06 with white people coming up with scams. I thought I was watching a white dude come up with a scam about cars. Couldn't be more wrong. I don't even know what this is about. Like, every time I thought that it was about one thing, it switched to something else. So they built a three-wheel car.
Starting point is 02:23:22 They never built one for it to go. They just built the model put it in all the car shows sold mad of them and then they had to make one and then when they
Starting point is 02:23:30 got to make it they realized nigga we can't make this shit hey hey but shorty oh wait cause the dude
Starting point is 02:23:38 that came up with the idea he had a sex change okay he didn't want to be a man anymore so now he was a woman and. Okay. He didn't want to be a man anymore. So now he was a woman, and he was running a scam,
Starting point is 02:23:51 but apparently he had another scam before this car shit that he disappeared from. They couldn't figure out where he was, so they busted him. Yeah, because he changed his shit. Right. So they busted him, and then they had him, and then it was a trial, and then the juror that was going to lean toward him,
Starting point is 02:24:06 I'm telling the whole shit let me not do that. Anyway long story less long this lady had a bunch of scams and after the car shit she had about five more for their head tops and they had to go
Starting point is 02:24:17 and try to find her throughout the country and this is four episodes of this. Really three because the first episode don't even count. The first episode is them just telling you about
Starting point is 02:24:25 her family. Yeah, set you up. And you're like, you're like, the fuck's your family? Matter of fact, how come my car is four wheels?
Starting point is 02:24:35 Yeah, exactly. Man, by the time they got to episode two, this shit was lit, lit, lit. I'm going to watch that.
Starting point is 02:24:41 I love that scam story. Oh yeah, after the McMillions doc. Oh, and matter of fact, speaking of scammers, Scream Man, can you pull up Shorty's name that just got out of jail? She was the Soho scammer. The Soho scammer.
Starting point is 02:24:54 No, no, no. The Claremont twins. How niggas let them two keep scamming, I still don't know. I'm about to say, they still going. I don't know how. I saw a pic the other day, and they was cute. I was like, oh, shit.
Starting point is 02:25:05 Oh, no, the Soho Grifter. Oh, shit. All right, so the Soho Grifter, or however you pronounce that shit. Yeah, Grifter. So Shorty. Oh, he was grifting, bitches. No, it's a girl. It's a white woman.
Starting point is 02:25:16 Oh, she was grifting, bitches. She scammed the shit out of everyone in Soho. She was running with all the 1% people. She was staying in every luxury hotel Not paying a fucking bill Nothing whatever right Yeah Shorty got out of jail Like last week right And went right back to Soho
Starting point is 02:25:31 And walked into the Sephora store And stayed there for three hours Yeah White privilege Yeah That's what that sounds like And then sold her script To Netflix
Starting point is 02:25:41 White privilege There you go My black ass would've did that shit And walked to Sephora It'd have been so much police out. White privilege. There you go. My black ass would have did that shit in Welcome to Sephora. There'd have been so much police out there. White privilege. Alright, before we get to everyone's thoughts on the Your Honor
Starting point is 02:25:53 finale. And we're going to spoil it. Go watch it. This one I'm not going to talk about. It just happened. Okay, watch it. That's it. Your Honor. Your Honor. Your Okay. Watch it. That's it. Your Honor. Your Honor. Your Honor.
Starting point is 02:26:06 Your Honor. Your Honor. I loved it. I loved it. They tried to sneak some COVID shit in. Really? I loved it. No.
Starting point is 02:26:13 I didn't love it. I didn't love it. I loved it. I didn't love it. And I be looking at kill endings. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it.
Starting point is 02:26:20 Okay. Oh, that's over. Yeah. But I don't... But they were supposed to be there. I didn't love it, though. No? No. I didn't love it. I didn't want to see no more Yohana. I think this is it. Oh, that's over. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I don't... But it was supposed to be there from the beginning. I didn't love it, though.
Starting point is 02:26:26 No? No. I didn't love it. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. Y'all keep talking. Y'all keep talking. It left a lot of storylines unanswered, I guess. Is that why you didn't...
Starting point is 02:26:38 What storylines were unanswered? What happens to the whole black mob and the kid that now shot yeah exactly it was just similar to the night of back to the cycle right his brother was in his brother got fucked by it he tried to get revenge for it is gonna get fucked for it again he was trying to shoot the person that killed again spoilers yeah that actually killed his brother ended up killing the person that was fucking them over in the long run. So there was some type of vengeance of people to get fucked by the system. I hate to get in the metaphor bag, but I think that is what Adam was, is the metaphor of the person that always gets off on everything.
Starting point is 02:27:16 Yeah. And yeah, no, we're shooting him in the neck this time. I think there was some type of resolution the way the night of where there wasn't where the system just went. to get away with the shit. He was trying to turn himself in. Adam is a fucking sociopath. He is a sociopath. Adam is the sickest character on that TV show.
Starting point is 02:27:29 Absolutely. And it's not even close. Absolutely. I'm not arguing that part. As fuck. And I don't know that Adam wasn't trying to kill that kid when he put his fingers
Starting point is 02:27:37 in his mouth. Just saying. He became a sociopath the entire show. Well, yeah, I always thought that was a little weird to me. He was cleaning his passageway trying to get in.
Starting point is 02:27:44 Yeah, but still, just call an ambulance. Call the cops. Well, yeah, I always thought that was a little weird to me. And then y'all, well, he was cleaning his passageway trying to get in. Yeah, but still, just call an ambulance. Call a cop. No, at least night of, the shit went in circles. This is the system. This is how it was going to be. At least the metaphor
Starting point is 02:27:53 of the system fucking somebody got shot in the neck and died. Some resolution. I hated the night of ending. Yeah, this yonder ending to me was, I thought it would have been a little this tell me it might be season 2
Starting point is 02:28:05 I don't think there is I disagree with Corey I don't think I'd like to see season 2 after this I would definitely watch I loved it too if it don't come back
Starting point is 02:28:17 I loved it I didn't love it I didn't love it I didn't hate it but I didn't love it they left it open for them to come back and it be on
Starting point is 02:28:23 I think it's coming back oh it can definitely the back and it be on i think it's coming back definitely the story can definitely keep going i think it's coming but i'm i'm cool i don't think i don't think they look at those ratings i'm clocked out and be like yeah end it now and and how they closed it up where the judge was gonna be fine like they they cleaned up all that shit at the end like yo i just need him to good. I just need him to be good. The judge could continue to be a judge. He just has to explain why he's there, but his wife was murdered,
Starting point is 02:28:52 now his son was murdered. He's going to be the fucking mayor of the city too. I thought that ending was really beautiful. For the judge to be over his kid the way his kid was over the kid. I just thought it was poetic. It was beautiful. It was poetic, for sure. I loved it. It was a little bit on the nose but yeah i didn't love it
Starting point is 02:29:09 but i didn't hate it i see with the full like way too full circle it was a little too on the nose but i like that that shorty never found out that her boyfriend killed her brother and was still yeah i thought that was kind of cool you You thought... What's the mafia guys? The bosses. Baxter. You thought he was smiling? Oh, the end? Yeah, when he was holding his daughter?
Starting point is 02:29:33 Yeah, he was smiling. Okay. I had that debate. No, he was smiling for sure. Hell yeah, he was smiling. Oh, that's just one of the faces he always had throughout the season. True.
Starting point is 02:29:42 It was like, you know, he about to do some crazy shit. It's like a sinister laugh or sinister smile. I shouldn't be smiling, but I am. It was that kind of vibe. This kid, the bad brother got caught up too easy on the stand for me. If there was one thing that I felt could have been different, the family was too gangster for the kid to get caught up that easy.
Starting point is 02:30:02 Yeah, but he was a knucklehead. No, but he was an asshole. He was trying to get caught up that easy yeah but he was a knucklehead but he was an asshole yeah he was trying to get caught up anyway and and he was the privileged under yeah you had your attorney on your side you had your the judge on you you had mad shit on your side you were still stupid enough to get up there and say he walked out didn't he yes well it was the cocky arrogant like in my head i was like yeah do i have to go back to that episode i don't think it went like that but that's why I'm saying he was white.
Starting point is 02:30:26 His father was who he was. They got the judge in pocket already. That's why he was on the stand calling the other lawyer a cunt and all that because he knew, I'm good. The judge is on my side.
Starting point is 02:30:35 The inconsistency was that the lawyer would have allowed that because them revealing the end of that video, his lawyer would have had. His lawyer wouldn't have let him say that. That was the only inconsistency in this show that I was like, all right, that's too obvious
Starting point is 02:30:49 because his lawyer would have had that video footage. You're revealing that to the jury and everyone else. You have to give that over to the defense. Also, let me just give power a little bit of credit. A little bit of credit. Please don't. You mean to tell me that that little kid, the little fat black kid, watched the judge jog to his door, watched the house get blown up,
Starting point is 02:31:15 watched mad people die, grabbed a gun, snuck into private party, and just was way off on the target? This kid is in Desire, right? That's a gang. He was with the tough accountant lady. He was the accountant. He was the accountant. He was trying to get them out.
Starting point is 02:31:32 Yeah, he wasn't a shooter. And those little guns are very inaccurate. Yeah, he wasn't. And who chose that gang name? Sound like a male stripper. Sound like a female stripper. You're never going to New Orleans again, buddy. It's fictional, Parks.
Starting point is 02:31:44 I just thought that he should have hit the person. He did. No, he didn't. No, he hit the right person. No. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You like him. No, but he didn't.
Starting point is 02:31:57 No, no, no. And the little derringers are not accurate. He didn't hit the right person. Yes, he did. No, he didn't. He hit the person that eventually got his brother killed. No. No, I don't see.
Starting point is 02:32:04 I don't view it like that because he didn't mean to kill his his and after nothing the baxter kid killed his brother so he's supposed to kill him he's supposed to that's who that's who should have got and i'm saying the ball doesn't lie he could have been aiming for the baxter kid but hit the kid that really did it he's just a victim of this no i'm not rolling cory enough of you we can't hear you on the mic. That's annoying to people. Corey was saying that the Baxter kid was a victim of it too, and I agree with him.
Starting point is 02:32:32 Nah. I thought it was great. Sorry if we spoiled it for you. Put a mark before the spoiler alert so everybody didn't see it. Put a mark so they could fast forward if they didn't see it. Everybody happy. Oh, that and the Chet Hanks thing was the other wild inconsistency with that. Son's whole bone was coming out of his leg. He's like, no.
Starting point is 02:32:51 Keep him on the stand. That would never happen. Yeah. Dude didn't even sound believable when he was like, I was afraid. Yeah. We got it. We got it, buddy. The lawyer knew that, though.
Starting point is 02:33:02 Yeah. No worries. He sounded mad that he had to say that. Like, I'm not pussy. Right, right. Fam, you're fighting for your life right now. Yeah. Let me see if I have anything else here.
Starting point is 02:33:12 The Jamaica kidnap story. Oh, we should highlight what's going on in Trinidad right now. What's going on in Trinidad? If you heard about the Jamaica kidnap story, it wasn't a kidnap story. There we go. That's why I try to not get too riled up when you read things on the internet.
Starting point is 02:33:31 She made that shit sound like, they let my friends leave. They told me I had COVID. They wouldn't show me a positive test. They kept me no phone, no food. It was bad. Just to find out that she didn't have COVID and she didn't want to quarantine.
Starting point is 02:33:46 Oh yeah, I saw that one, the flight attendant thing. I mean, she did have COVID and she didn't want to quarantine and have her friends leave and be stuck in Jamaica by herself. That was nuts. Don't do that again. These fucking kids in the internet. But in serious news, and let me read this off an actual real source, Trinidad is facing
Starting point is 02:34:02 a gender-based violence crisis right now. 416 women and girls went missing in trinidad is facing a gender-based violence crisis right now uh 416 women and girls went missing in trinidad during 2020 535 went missing in 2019 45 women were murdered in 2020 there are 552 reported cases of sexual assault against women in 2019 uh one in three women and girls in unions reported that they have suffered abuse. 29% of those have said they experienced both physical and sexual assault in Trinidad right now. It's becoming kind of a thing. That's insane. Nuts, nuts.
Starting point is 02:34:36 And I'm certain there's no coverage on it. Not much at all. So I just want to make sure we cover that. Got it. Because it's definitely something bad happening right now in Trinidad. Yeah, thanks for the info. Thank you, Rory. Way to be responsible with your platform.
Starting point is 02:34:49 I appreciate that. You guys got anything else? I don't think so, no. No, I got two docs I have to watch tonight. Lady and the Dale. Man, y'all going to be impressed by Shorty. Because at the end, right, when I thought this shit was over, it was over already.
Starting point is 02:35:09 She ran away from the jury. She did everything she had to do. They get this Daily News guy or some reporter on there. This is a spoiler. This is a spoiler, by the way. I'm not going to spoil it. How? I mean, you spoiled the entire thing.
Starting point is 02:35:21 I'm still watching it, though. So they got- All right, this is a spoiler. We'll fast forward to the end. This is a spoiler. Get out of here. Go on now. Get out of here.
Starting point is 02:35:28 Get your ass out of here. Go on now. They put a daily news or some news reporter guy there, and they like, it's his first day on the job. They're not giving him no stories. So he's like, fuck it. I'm going to go find the stories. So he goes to the local highway where they're selling roses, and they're all selling roses.
Starting point is 02:35:42 So he's like, fuck it. I'm going to get a story on the niggas selling some roses down here. They're making some money. They're pouring their heart out down here with selling roses. And they all selling roses. So he's like, fuck it, I'm going to get a story of the niggas selling some roses down here. They can make some money. They pouring their heart out down here with the roses. So she went down there, and the reporter was like, yo, there's mad rose sellers down here. None of them speak English, and none of them would talk to the reporter.
Starting point is 02:35:59 So the reporter did some digging. That's what reporters do. Good reporters. Who owns the Rose business of the people that don't speak English making a killing for the last 10 years?
Starting point is 02:36:11 There's somebody behind this shit for sure. Yeah, absolutely. This nigga sold roses. Shorty is good, man. Spoiler alert. Watch it. It's great.
Starting point is 02:36:22 I just read that they're not bringing back Messiah. Good. Nah, that show was good on messiah good nah that show was good on on netflix messiah that show was good i tried to watch the first two episodes i fell asleep during messiah i tried i couldn't get it wasn't messiah with puerto rican god no where he went to school and his classmates didn't know he was god wait this is why y'all celebrate Valentine's Day, because you want a white Jesus. You want Mel Gibson's version, don't you? Yeah, that's what Joe wants.
Starting point is 02:36:49 That's what they want. That makes him more comfortable. No, I'm mad they're not bringing this back because they said that the Muslim community was offended by some of the depictions and stuff like that. I never viewed this series to be like that. So I just was like- I already could see why they would be offended. It looks like a bunch of angry Taliban
Starting point is 02:37:12 and then a bunch of angelic white people. This was good, though. This series was good. Turning the sea into capital. Like, oh, Jesus came to us, you crazy terrorists. Look at this dude. Yeah, he's throwing bombs on Iraq look at this
Starting point is 02:37:26 look Malthor this show was coming back it should this was a good series y'all bugging this was a good series no I tried to watch the first two episodes
Starting point is 02:37:33 nah y'all bugging Messiah Messiah was good y'all tripping this was a good series maybe I'll try it again this was definitely a good series
Starting point is 02:37:39 since we were on documentaries about scams Netflix bad shows is good like I like Netflix bad shows is good like I like they bad shows nah this is a good show like Netflix had me watching some shit
Starting point is 02:37:48 I have to erase my pussy with my move basically Netflix had me watching some shit what's this show with a retired boxer teaching his kids
Starting point is 02:37:56 to box make this shit the fuck out of here season four of the wire no man the fans are letting the Italian guy beefing with the gangsters.
Starting point is 02:38:07 His kids was boxers. Who knows? I don't remember. Did Michael B. Jordan rock it? I don't remember. I don't remember. It's fine. I'm done.
Starting point is 02:38:14 I was trying to say, with the scammer docs and the mob and all that shit we were talking about, McMillions, I was in C-Town and I saw a hamburger helper and I was like, man, I haven't had hamburger help in a while.
Starting point is 02:38:23 And I grabbed the box. You know box tops are still a thing? That racket is still going. I'm not missing my flight for this. Is there anything else besides Hamburger Helper toppings that we need to get to? It's the box top. That's a scam. That's a racket.
Starting point is 02:38:37 It's still on the boxes. I can't believe that. What the fuck is that? It used to be like collect the cardboard pieces. Yeah, you bring them into your class and that donates to somebody. The school pays money.
Starting point is 02:38:47 It's a scam for sure. None of y'all want to know what Roar used to bring to the bake sale. I think we
Starting point is 02:38:52 asked them that before, didn't we? Rice Krispie Treats, for sure. I like Rice Krispie Treats.
Starting point is 02:38:56 You're right. Oh, they changed Aunt Jemima's name to like the real racist shit. Burying niggas
Starting point is 02:39:03 under croplands. I think it's the name of the mill where they make. Burying niggas under croplands. I think it's the name of the mill where they make those syrup bags. Nah, it's some nigger. Oh, that mill? It's some racist shit. Oh, yeah, sawmill. Burying niggas by sawmill road. Pearl Mill and Company.
Starting point is 02:39:16 Pearl Mill and Company. That's what they slapped Aunt Jemima on. No wonder Ari Lennox hates me. Look what they doing to fucking aunts. Yeah. It does feel a little racist. Look what they're doing to fucking aunts. Yeah. It does feel a little racist. It's time for that to go. They put Aunt Jemima under the sawmill creek roll.
Starting point is 02:39:31 Look at what people also said. This is crazy, man. Nah, it's crazy shit. Pearl milling. Somebody was breaking down the Cracker Barrel thing to me this weekend. That was crazy. Yeah, I've heard that one's kind of wild. You seen the logo?
Starting point is 02:39:42 I haven't. Look, it's right there in front of your face. Put it up. The logo is a whip. All right. Let me see. I don't eat Cracker Barrel. And it says Cracker.
