Starting point is 00:00:00 Yeah, so far, only one person has won this tournament every single time that it's happened. How many times has the tournament happened? Three times. Okay. When was the first one? But the tournament only exists because somebody kept winning and wanted to figure out an infrastructure because he kept winning. Who's that, Ice?
Starting point is 00:00:19 I don't think so. I don't remember. You said somebody kept winning and what? And they needed to come up with an infrastructure because nobody would respect all of the wins that were being tallied. This is a monopoly conversation for the people that have lost. It's been very heated for the past 20 weeks.
Starting point is 00:00:34 No, it was great. This was great. Heated between two dudes that have lost all the tournaments. Y'all cannot get some headphones. This hasn't been heated. This hasn't been very heated for me at all. I've been, it's a beautiful day in New York. Everything is fucking cozy out here.

I said, nope, won't hear that until Saturday. Text said, well, something else is dropping tonight too.
Starting point is 00:14:39 I was like, who, YG and Mozzy? Which was supposed to drop as a joke. It said, nah. I said, I drop as a joke. They said, nah. I said, I know Nicki's dropping. I said, is she by herself or is it any features? She got some old friends on the record. Couple little dudes. Couple guys.
Starting point is 00:14:55 Got some old friends on the record. Something like. And it's rap shit. That it was. That it is. So I heard that. I'm like, oh, okay. I don't care what else is dropping tonight

Starting point is 00:18:07 it does it does it don't feel like an album album yeah but that's how mixtapes were too you'd have a couple album-y songs he was rapping like it was a mixtape this sound like I'm proving a point Cole you know what I'm saying
Starting point is 00:18:22 that's what he was saying in the doc I'm trying to get better still. That's why it's an off-season and all that shit. The song structure gives me mixtape, and Parks and I were talking outside. This is like the first Cole album that came on, and I was relating to it. I was identifying with some of the stuff that he was saying.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Speaking for only me, that's been an issue that I've had with some of the stuff that he was saying speaking for only me that's been an issue that I've had with Cole in the past like one of the greatest rappers ever I'm just not experiencing what the same
Starting point is 00:18:52 same things that he is true that don't seem to be the case it sounded like he was living our lives for a minute there someone is ticking him off yeah he's pissed off
Starting point is 00:19:01 yeah this is I'm tired of somebody or somebody or somebody's yeah y''m tired of somebody. Or somebody's. Yeah, y'all. Tired of you. But nobody, to my knowledge, has said anything bad about me. This is rap niggas.
Starting point is 00:19:12 I'm tired of you rap niggas. But it was also a lot of someone close to me is putting me through some shit too in there. At the end. You'll hear it at the end. If you hate it on a nigga, please don't greet me with a pound. I be staying out the way. But if the Beast do come around, could put an M right on your head.
Starting point is 00:19:30 You Luigi, brother, now. Trace my steps all in this game. You can see we cover ground. Back and forth from NC to New York when Jeezy had the crown. Vivid memories. Niggas start to squeeze, we ducking down. So many shells left on the ground, it make the the Easter Bunny proud I get up, dust my clothes off Sleep is the cousin of death
Starting point is 00:19:48 No plans to doze off The streets that don't come with a ref I never soul solve Just creep where the hustlers crept And got they O's off You reach niggas up and like Steph To blow your nose off Kazoom tight
Starting point is 00:20:01 And then resume flight As if it never happened Shit we out Don't tell me kazoom tight in happened shit don't tell me kazoon tight in the song don't tell me sneeze blow niggas nose off kazoon tight i don't know what's going on i need to take a drive with this he's going crazy that's when i heard it i i woke up i bought it uh on the way to barbershop put it on had no idea what to expect, and I heard Cam's, well, kill her. I was like, oh, whoa, whoa. Right. That was a wake up. Whoa, whoa.
Starting point is 00:20:26 It's 7.30 in the morning, my G. No, no, no. Can't do it. It's 7.30 in the morning. Hopefully you don't know horns. Yeah. I hear kill her. And then Cole did, like, why?
Starting point is 00:20:35 Ugh. Ugh. And the beat came in nice. Yeah, I'm relating to Cole now, man. And I'm slow as hell. I just caught it, the 95 South, because how it starts up in Harlem and ends down there with Lil Jon in them. You drove down. Damn, I didn't peep that.
Starting point is 00:20:51 95 South. I knew you'd die, so I ain't going to lie. You good, man. You pretty good. I just caught that. Wow. Wow. Wow, man.
Starting point is 00:20:59 I needed to drop one of these niggas. That's interesting. Yo, I didn't even see that. I didn't peep it like that. The science. I didn't peep it, I said. So that was just, that was a real time
Starting point is 00:21:08 you peep live on air. Wow, that was a breaking peep. Yeah, that was a peep. Breaking, breaking peep. Not only am I relating to the J. Cole project, I meant to say last week, J. Cole might be
Starting point is 00:21:20 the king of rollouts. I had some shit going on last week, so we didn't get into all that. But J. Cole is the king of rollouts i had some shit going on last week so we didn't get into all that but jay cole is the king of rollouts he's pretty good like to pop up at your house to then go buy his old house and then go try out for the african basketball team and take a picture of you with the jersey on the week of your release man no bat no rappers thinking like this well master p did maybe but he didn't think to go to the African League.
Starting point is 00:21:46 He wasn't trying to roll out, though, was he? When P did that? Yeah, I think that was like after his peak of his career. He was actually trying to just play. He was trying to play for Charlotte and Toronto. Toronto, yeah. He played for Toronto, right? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:21:57 Yeah. He ain't going to the African League. I was actually, with Cole's rollout, I was a little surprised because this isn't usual for him. Like, you don't usually get the, you know, Cole just drop out the blue and say, yo, my album dropped Friday. Or my album's out at midnight. It depends. He did with the, what was it, KOD, was it called? That was more of a surprise. But the Forest Hills, like you're talking about, when he bought the house and was sitting in the house and Dollar in a Dream and all that shit.
Starting point is 00:22:22 Like, that was a rollout, rollout. Even the Dollar in a Dream tours. Yo, we here today. Cole's beenout. Even the Dollar in a Dream tours. How do you, yo, we here today. Like, Cole's been the king of the surprise
Starting point is 00:22:29 for a minute. Like, it's just, it's happening now. Man, I'm not gonna roll out him to death. He took a week. It was a week.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Yeah, but it was still a week. came out last week. This week, all the basketball, the footage, the doc stuff. It's been a week.
Starting point is 00:22:44 That's a lot more than Cole does, though. But I'm not going to call it a rollout if you just bust your ass for a week or if you jam everything into the week. Hey, Nicky took a ride in the Cullinan with her husband, and that was it for the week and a project drop. Like, that's not – these ain't rollouts. I like that J. Cole put a clip of him missing a shot. Word.
Starting point is 00:23:02 Nah, nah, nah. Yeah. But I'm going gonna go to the league no I just came in the gym I'm getting loose my first shot brick brick
Starting point is 00:23:11 I made that that is dope though that's dope nah that's dope that is very dope that's dope cause you know how many people won't put the miss up there
Starting point is 00:23:18 exactly they done shot that shit a hundred times exactly so they got that right one in there is Cole being more vulnerable or is it just hitting different today?
Starting point is 00:23:31 No, I think that's always been him though. Yeah, but it's a different kind of vulnerability. It's more vulnerability within, in this album to me that I was hearing. Maybe it's just because of the situations at hand. It was more vulnerability within friendships and personal relationships as opposed to like with a female.
Starting point is 00:23:45 You talked about that. Yeah. And maybe that's why it hit me a little differently because we're currently going through shit with our friends. Yeah. Well said. This album's really good. No, this is great. Witness full of so much sickness Angels shedding tears in heaven
Starting point is 00:24:00 Word to Eric Clapton Off this clever rapping Bitch, my pocket's gone forever fatten Oh my God They gon' forever fatten See? That's how I tell you Bitch, my pen and the paper's lethal I'm sendin' them straight to meet the
Starting point is 00:24:16 The nigga that made them peep the Reaper creepin' on ya The sin of failure reakin' on ya Check your genitalia Pussy niggas bleedin' on ya Self fuckin' with cold as bold But it's imped reeking on ya Check your genitalia Pussy niggas bleeding on ya Self Fuckin' with cold as bold But it's impeding on ya
Starting point is 00:24:28 Health All your niggas Eating off your wealth All my niggas Feeding all they selves And it feels swell Crispy cream dreams Sometimes my dogs
Starting point is 00:24:36 Wanna kill twelve Cause they're Shots of Boy Wonder 2 Oh my goodness Oh my god Boy Wonder did that beat oh my goodness oh my god boy wonder did his beat yeah yo wonder man
Starting point is 00:24:48 that little folder that you got that's for the top three and only the top three it is heat in there
Starting point is 00:24:58 you can't sit no real rapping no beat like this yeah I wonder if little john was on it already or Cole had that idea it worked that shit worked cause by the time john came on at the end oh man and no beat like this. Yeah. I wonder if Lil Jon was on it already or Cole had that idea. It worked. That shit worked.
Starting point is 00:25:06 Because by the time Jon came on at the end, oh, man. I was losing it. Oh, man. I was way too excited at 245 in my house. Now, some of y'all wasn't outside to actually experience what Lil Jon, what Eastside Boys was about, all of that.
Starting point is 00:25:19 But I was really excited that Cole did that. That's dope. And from down south. So they look at Lil Jon and them different than we do. You know what else I give this guy props for? He came out, he stepped out first. Me too. That's what I said last week.
Starting point is 00:25:36 People probably never got to that part of the podcast, but whatever. You say. Out of the big three. Yeah, I'm going first. He stepped out first That's a lot That takes
Starting point is 00:25:48 And the lyrics And the lyrics Now you set the bar Yeah And god damn it It's so good to hear Like the big dogs come back And shout out to all
Starting point is 00:25:55 The independent artists And hood artists That have been holding us down For the last year But it's nice to hear The big dogs It's fucking nice Yeah the thing about that though There's some more big the big dogs. It's fucking nice.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Yeah, the thing about that, though, there's some more big dogs out there now. Everyone's loaded. Yeah, some more. Some new pit bulls. I'm just saying, these three, Cole, Kendrick, and Drake, and Nicki, she's a big dog, too. Like, you're coming back now. I think we might hear more Cole by the end of the year.
Starting point is 00:26:19 To some new big dogs. Judging off that little list that he put out, he had like a whole three albums lined up. I don't know if they're all coming this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get more calls. His path to retirement
Starting point is 00:26:29 with the list he put out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cole sound like he didn't give a fuck about any of the new big dogs out there. Cole sound like he don't give a fuck
Starting point is 00:26:37 about none of the- Nobody. He got Baby on there. That's the new big dog. Right. Well, yeah, as long as you get your Baby feature-
Starting point is 00:26:44 21. Him and 21. Why do they in 21 why do they why are they it's crazy why are they like peanut butter and jelly and i usually hate when someone flips some shit that i love but they bodied in my life hook they bodied that shit yeah no more is fucking dope man he did that i was about to text pharaoh like i don't know he might have got you out of here bro yeah i don't know i'm typically like when they do that either but this might be my favorite song in the project to be honest with you it's high it's high put a light in a out there hey this project what's today I
Starting point is 00:27:18 said I will be fully listening to this project this weekend it's like all we This weekend. This whole weekend. Ice, you didn't hear it. Shut up. Don't try to be a Kohler now. I'm not. I'm not gay. Don't try to be a Kohler. It's still Friday. Oh. Spiling up.

I'm going to cut it off, man, because the podcast job is to talk, but keep talking. We can just play this all over the place. I'ma cut it off man, cause the podcast job is to talk but, keep talking Yeah, top of the morning, I know that you thought I was dormant Woke up early from shots that were swarming, a block from the Alps, now the cops in the orbit
Starting point is 00:27:52 Cause somebody got popped, now they knocking on doors, tryna find an informant But I ain't seen Nathan, I'm minding my business, his God is my witness The weapon gon' prosper, that's forming, against me Nigga, I'm starving, he missed me Know when I'm done with these songs, you gon' miss me Jammerin', I'm on my grizzly You niggas just cubs, but no, not the ones in the big leagues After the fall off, I promise I'm comin' and sellin' our Wrigleys
Starting point is 00:28:10 Nigga, I'm just a product of poverty Full of narcotics to profit off quickly My family tree got a history of users that struggle with demons Not really the hustler instincts Then for often, my pockets was empty So I saw my partner was servin' up rocks on the corners of Project Assemblies Me, I was startin' to envy Wanna be on the top where it's pretty Wanna be on the corners of project assemblies me i was starting to envy want to be on the top where it's pretty want to be in the spotlight where every bitch want me like
Starting point is 00:28:29 rihanna dropping new 50 but i see the other music comes in reach up to the other music came in i can't reach up to evidently i can't be out here mopping up wendy's I'm up in a Wendy's my life is all I have my rhymes my pen my pad What you saying now My life I've been in a coffin, but I done made it through the pain and strife. It's my time now, my world, my life, my life. Oh, my. Say what? The 21 was talking to her. It fucked me up.
Starting point is 00:29:12 I didn't mean to. I'm just trying to tell you. I didn't take on a bandit. I'm swinging them motherfuckers side to side. It's Saturday, man. Don't participate in it. It's got your shit. All we believe in is homicide. I got a good heart, so I send teddy bears every time we make they mamas cry.
Starting point is 00:29:26 All right, we got to cut it off. 21, 21. We got to good heart, so I send teddy bears every time we make they mamas cry. Alright, we gotta cut it off. 21, 21. We gotta cut it off. That's it. Gotta cut it off. I got a good heart, so I send teddy bears every time they mama cry.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Every time I make they mamas cry. Word. I like that. I like that connection. That's a great- It's like the new Stiles and Kiss for me.
Starting point is 00:29:41 Bro. They two for two. Is that- Right? They got two records. Just two? Yeah. Two ones, though.in Kiss for me. Bro. They two for two. Right? They got two records. Just two? Yeah. Two ones, though.
Starting point is 00:29:48 Yeah, two ones. Two of them ones. Two of them. All right, Cole did it, man. I don't have nothing to say. The production is great. The music is great. The rapping is great.
Starting point is 00:29:57 Everything is great. I still don't like this album cover, but now that I've heard the album, it don't fucking matter. No, he did the right thing. Actually, I take it back. We were supposed to discuss the album cover. I take that I've heard the album, it don't fucking matter. No, he did the right thing. Actually, I take it back. We were supposed to discuss the album cover. I take it back, though. I'm wrong. I'm wrong.
Starting point is 00:30:14 If you're rapping like this and you're doing this, you could just burn the booth. Yo, just stand in front of some shit and burn everything else on fire. Facts. Put it on fire in the back of the album too and walk away in a walk away yeah like and then don't even look at the camera like you did indeed this might be my favorite album cover of the year now honestly now that i'm thinking about it
Starting point is 00:30:34 now now that i'm thinking about it this is the best album cover that i've seen this year because the album cover is supposed to tell you how dude is about to perform or what you could expect on the album. And that was my beef. Like, nigga, I don't care about this all black pajama hooded shit. And why did you light the boot? What happened to the hoop? Why did you light it on fire? I heard the music.
Starting point is 00:30:55 Now you understand. I'm stupid. I'm an idiot. Me? Look, hey, welcome to the boat. I'm an idiot. No, I knew he was going to do that. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:03 And then he did this. I didn't see this yet. He did the shows of mischief. I'm an idiot. No, I knew he was going to do that. Oh, yeah. And then he did this. I didn't see this yet. He did the shows of mischief. Come on, Parks. I know, man. I know. How could you not hear the shows of mischief freestyle? Because my mentions were ruined.
Starting point is 00:31:15 Yo, how bad were your mentions? Come on, give it to me. Give it to me. Give it to me. I talked about 200 people. No, man. Easy. Why?
Starting point is 00:31:23 Easy. No way. Nah, you got to come respectfully. You want to tell people that they got to come respectfully. Yeah. All right, more music, more music. We have brand new Nicki Minaj or brand new old Nicki Minaj, but either way, there's new shit on it.
Starting point is 00:31:37 It's both. It's both, yeah. Beam me up, Scottie, streaming version of her old slaps. Do you guys think that the Drake record was new? Or do you think it was old? Because Drake sounded, that sounded like old Drake to me. Sounded like an older record
Starting point is 00:31:50 that she had. It's new to us. I think it was a little older. Nah, Wayne, Wayne verse wasn't old. Why not? That might have been old too, but I mean.
Starting point is 00:31:58 He was addressing the pandemic and all that other shit. The pandemic has been mad long-ish. It's a year. That's what we mean. I mean, like, the same time that he had in the tuck.
Starting point is 00:32:08 You know what I'm saying? Like, from years back. We're just saying that. I was talking specifically about the Drake verse, really. It sounded like old Drake verse to me. When you say old, what are you talking about? Like, a year or two years? I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:32:19 Old as in it wasn't done last month. Okay, no. Wasn't done two months ago. I don't know if it was done last year. Got it. Okay. I can see that. Just, like, the. Wasn't done two months ago. I don't know if it was done last year. Got it. Okay. I can see that. Just like the way he was flowing.
Starting point is 00:32:28 That's what I thought. Wait, when did he fuck himself up again? When did that happen? When he... Broke his knee or whatever it was. Yeah, whatever the injury was. That's recent. Yeah, it was last year.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Well, he says... Didn't he say that? They're saying it'll be the first time that I do numbers on two crutches. Oh, okay. Maybe it's just the way it sounds. He said the other line about the... Where is it? Torn something. Who's that sub? Oh, okay. Maybe it's just the way he sounded. The other line about the, where is it?
Starting point is 00:32:46 Torn, something, who's that sub? Oh, yeah, play 48 minutes. Maybe it's just the way it sounded. It sounded like,
Starting point is 00:32:51 it could just be a bar flip, like word flip. No, no, I'm talking about the sonics of it. He said 2021 in it. He mentions 2021. You guys,
Starting point is 00:32:57 what do you think of the song? Who cares? Let's go. Who cares when he's in the verse? I love the song, personally. This is a reminder
Starting point is 00:33:04 from the three of them. Nah, it was dope. Yeah, we still do this. Hey, this is what we do. In case y'all forgot, I know we've all been off for a little bit. Let me remind y'all real quick.
Starting point is 00:33:16 I ain't hear Wayne rap like that in a minute. I do just think... Nah, Wayne's been rapping like that. Yeah, he's been rapping like that for a few years now. I do think it's good
Starting point is 00:33:23 to see Nicki. I think it's good that she dropped the project. What what's the second one what's the set fractions that's the one to me i like crazy on it i liked even seeing her yeah she went yeah fractions yeah that's the one uh i even liked seeing her right in the in the culling him with her husband like i like seeing nikki and today or yesterday she was tweeting some cryptic shit saying, fuck you, bitches. Y'all can't fuck with me. Don't try to be my friend now.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Whatever she was saying, I don't know. But I like when Nicki comes out and tries to bully bitches. Reminds y'all who she is. Yeah, I like it. I love it. I do. Because what happens is people tend to forget. Especially, you know, you get a new crop of, I'm not trying to pit woman rapper versus woman rapper. But you get a new crop of I'm not trying to pick woman
Starting point is 00:34:05 rapper versus woman rapper but you get a new crop coming up and everyone loves to do that and it's like oh it's her time now this this
Starting point is 00:34:12 slow down let me just remind you I'm still me don't forget it here it is trust it's all fun and games until I want to play too see that's what I be saying
Starting point is 00:34:21 that's the Drake line which is I love that line that's the Drake line from the verse no but I'm saying it for real and I think to play too. See, that's what I be saying. That's the Drake line, which is, I love that line. That's the Drake line from the verse. No, but I'm saying it for real and I think she is too. I agree,
Starting point is 00:34:32 because I think she should fall through her verses. Shit be all good until I want to play back. Right. I'm shutting up because everything I say, people think I'm speaking it.
Starting point is 00:34:39 I'm not even talking about that. I'm the same way. I mean, it applies in everything. It applies fucking in a relationship. All right, you get your shit off. Now, when I do it, I'm going to talking about that. I'm the same way. I mean, it applies in everything. It applies fucking in a relationship. All right, you get your shit off. Now, when I do it, I'm going to play it a little differently. You're not going to like that game no more. I'm happy for Nikki.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Shout out to her. Shout out to her family. We got a new Migos record that we heard a snippet of that is out now and it's crazy. It's up and it's stuck. Starting point is 00:36:16 I said it on a microphone. Scared to say it on a microphone. You niggas was behind the scenes saying, yo, is it just me? Or is that when you know niggas about to say some bullshit. Is it just me? Or is the Migos done? Y'all heard it. Y'all heard it.
Starting point is 00:36:34 I said it. You said it. People said it. People were saying it. Now that you hear this song, you know better than that, man. Come on. I didn't know better than that.

I gave him three, too, trying to see if he could do some straightening. Did you get any straightening done? Oh, your girl think that was you. Oh, God, don't worry about it.

Starting point is 00:39:06 Continue proving me wrong. I enjoy this. Thank you. Why don't you stop talking about rappers? You'd be wrong. I'd be right, too, though. No, I'd be right, though. You'd be opinionated. It's a difference. No, it's not. My opinion can be right, and it can be wrong. Listen, Georgia Smith dropped
Starting point is 00:39:22 as well. I ain't listened to this one yet. Georgia Smith dropped me neither, because I got to hear that when I'm alone in my room and I'm just staring at the wall. You know what I mean? That's when I got to, I mean, I need love type shit. What's that? Whoa, whoa, what was that? What was that?

Starting point is 00:41:40 rumor going around and meek mill didn't justix9ine from his recent miami birthday bash he also reportedly didn't grant rick ross access to his birth uh birthday party either according to boss up and again i can't confirm this the two rappers ongoing beef led to meek not allowing rose into his section at la at live nightclub in miami over the weekend meek allegedly wants out of his MMG contract and is apparently having difficulty doing so. Shortly after the chatter started, academics hopped on Twitch and essentially confirmed the rumor without
Starting point is 00:42:11 mentioning Meek's name. Yeah, I saw when I said that, but. And you've heard rumors of this for a little while. This may be the first time we're getting closer to confirmation even though we have none. I don't know how to feel about it. Me either. I don't know no details. I don't know how to feel about it.
Starting point is 00:42:34 I don't know if Meek is unhappy. I don't know why he would be unhappy. And I guess more will be revealed. We just have to wait and see but it's unfortunate if that's happening at Live. And I guess more will be revealed. We just have to wait and see. But it's unfortunate if that's happening at Live. I'm saying it's unfortunate as I find myself in the same situation. It's all unfortunate, though.
Starting point is 00:42:56 It is all unfortunate. Hopefully, these two brothers can work this out, remain friends or at least friendly. And hopefully, this doesn't get ugly yeah but in live shit just be when when baby and wayne had that alleged altercation at live tori lanes and whoever the loving hip-hop kid was at live live just seemed like the spot where you're gonna handle your beef if you have some and see that person there well it's just that's that's the spot where everybody's gonna be not me not me I'll be at the satai. We know.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Yeah, we know. I'm not leaving the satai to go to live on Sunday. You're not one of them, though. No, I'm him. I'll walk right into that. Fuck you. You know what I mean? Is it him or is it them?
Starting point is 00:43:43 They is them. He's him. He's him right there. You there yo this DMX track list got released oh yeah yeah a lot of big features on here Jay, Nas
Starting point is 00:43:51 on the same song with X Lox and Swiss Moneybagg Yo Alicia Bono from U2 Cross Infrared
Starting point is 00:44:00 and Ice Pick the whole Griselda another one with Nas and Mr. Porter. Oh, this don't sound like a posthumous project. Sound like they might have been working on this one. Nah, he mentioned some of them already. He said he told that he had to join with Griselda.
Starting point is 00:44:16 Oh, yeah, he was with Benny. Yeah, he had to join with Griselda. They took pictures and shit. So, yeah, this is definitely not a... So, Pop Smoke's record didn't make it. Well, yeah, he said he had a record with Pop Smoke I would like to hear I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to handle that prayer
Starting point is 00:44:28 at the end yeah and isn't isn't Exodus wasn't that this one of his children's names like the younger one oh I'm not sure
Starting point is 00:44:36 I don't know who well it's right there Exodus Simmons oh okay okay yeah it is I saw the skit part
Starting point is 00:44:43 but yeah that might oh man yeah X we love you Shock G we oh man yeah x we love you shock g we love you black rob we love you every all the rappers that we lost we love you uh i saw juice world's man a couple days ago putting out some heartfelt shit about him rest in peace juice world always he was saying that uh juice didn't swallow those pills trying to kill herself he didn't swallow i mean he said he didn't swallow those pills trying to kill herself. He didn't swallow. I mean, he said he didn't swallow those pills because the police were there and he overdosed.
Starting point is 00:45:11 He said, we knew the cops was coming. We knew the cops was at the border. We knew that we had a weapon on us. He said, Juice gave me the gun. We wasn't worried. I have a license to carry. He said, everything was fine he said uh the plane landed or the bus land or whatever it was and in a millisecond he looked
Starting point is 00:45:34 over and it was too late i have the tweet so i'll read it uh and i won't mention his name but this the tweet says jay did not swallow a bunch of pills because the police were at the airport we gave no fucks about them being there he could have flushed them down the toilet if he cared he went on to say he had nothing to worry about he knew the cops were there before we landed we put that strap in my bag it was all good i had a clean record and i'm a registered gun owner i had no problem taking that charge i never thought he would od i was always scared of getting bad press uh bad pressed pills so i got test strips i tested every batch he got but no one knew how much how much he really took because he was hiding it once max and i really
Starting point is 00:46:19 started counting how much he had and how fast he went through them. Jay just was hooked bad. The amount he took daily was absurd, and he hid how much he really took from mostly everyone. Everyone around him tried really hard to get him to slow down. When he agreed to rehab, it was because he wanted to lower his tolerance. He did not want to stop. Is that the last of the tweets?
Starting point is 00:46:48 Yeah, that's the last one. I thought I saw more talking about how difficult of a time he was having with dealing with this information. That's sad, man. I feel like most people that I've known that have addictions, especially to pills, but even with alcohol, do a lot of sneaking. Yeah, be it. Nobody would ever guess how many pills I was doing when I was sneaking around doing pills. Yeah. Nobody.
Starting point is 00:47:18 Even if you're open with it. Impossible. Here we go. This is the one. He says, I had to watch Allie holding him, screaming, losing the love of her life right in her arms. Yeah, this is some shit that says I had to watch Allie holding him screaming losing the love of her life right in her arms yeah this is some shit that I never want to be present for and I can't stop he continues and I can't stop thinking about him over and over again there on the ground and I was just looking in his eyes that's how I had to say goodbye to him it just burnt it's just burnt into my brain I want it to stop I had to watch little bro die at my feet.
Starting point is 00:47:46 I had to look in his eyes while he was dying and I couldn't do anything about it. I miss him so much every day. I miss having someone to talk to that understood me and cared. I miss goofing off. I miss filming him freestyling for me because he knew I loved it. I miss making him Red Baron pizza at 3.30 in the morning and he liked it burnt as fuck. Shit, I miss rolling his blunts.
Starting point is 00:48:10 I understand this pain. It's real sad that anybody has to live with it. And thank God I don't have any of those type of pictures etched into my memory because I can't imagine. This sounds really tough. Back to what I was saying, nobody would have ever been able to count how many pills I was taking. You wake up to some pills,
Starting point is 00:48:29 when they run out, you're taking some more pills. At 30s, you're taking multiple 30s at a time. And this is before I was even worried about the bad press pills, fentanyl, and all of that. I dated alcoholics too. They would have, you know, vodka stashed away certain places. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:48:45 You wouldn't really know. Or you could take them to my parents' house and they'd catch them in the other room chugging some shit real quick. It's like, yeah, you can just drink. You can have a drink. But that's not how addicts think. I'm looking at all of the trouble that this gentleman
Starting point is 00:49:01 went through. He was testing every pill. Right. He was getting test strips. Right. Rolling his blunts, trying to keep an eye on him. Mm-hmm. Man. Juice WRLD, we miss you.
Starting point is 00:49:15 We love you. Peace and peace. Fred Degas, son, same. Word. Mac Miller, same. There's too many people that I'm forgetting, but we miss them. We love each and every one of y'all, man. Mm-hmm. Triple X, there's too many people that I'm forgetting but we miss and we love
Starting point is 00:49:25 each and every one of y'all man Triple X rest in peace that's my guy man that's my guy him I miss a lot that one really bothered me a lot that one and Nip not to say all of them didn't but Nip and X
Starting point is 00:49:39 and X be safe out there, man. Outside is opening up. Guess what? I'll stand in something for us, man. Please. Come on. Pick us back up.
Starting point is 00:49:50 Your love on top. Yeah, something. Pick us right back up. Yo. You taping a podcast? Girl, you got me up X Yo You taping the podcast? Every Tuesday and Friday like clockwork Never fails Hey, KC
Starting point is 00:50:15 Hey, is Ice there? Ice is here Hey, Ice What's up, Karen? Hey Is you and I are building a rapport so salutations yo karen what's wrong with you man i'm good i was calling you about this quick update um hit me afterwards so we have like um
Starting point is 00:50:47 hit me afterwards so we have like a renovated our pod cast space super excited oh you ain't got a bill coming Yeah. Lodge and tech and everything is in there. Hey, our dance is dropping the names on us. I'm about to send you a video of the space because it's one area where you could do regular podcasting at a table with everything updated. Karen, Karen, Karen. Oh, I forgot. You're doing a thing. Call me afterwards.
Starting point is 00:51:23 I got you. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. I like that, though. I like that, though. I get it. I like that. I can't say that about it, but I like it a lot.
Starting point is 00:51:37 That's ill. That's very ill. I need people like that. I need people. Are you doing a part? I don't care about that. This one's happening. Listen to this. Shout out to KC. Are you doing it, I don't care about that. This one's happening. Listen to this.
Starting point is 00:51:46 Shout out to KC. Are we done with music? I believe so. Awesome. Before we leave this music conversation, I should have asked you guys earlier,
Starting point is 00:51:57 what do y'all think about Cole finally speaking on the scrap with Puff? I'm not really familiar with that situation. I don't know what happened. Okay. Do you remember the rumor? I'm not really familiar with that situation. I don't know what happened. Okay.
Starting point is 00:52:07 Do you remember the rumor? I never heard the rumor, no. I remember the Drake and Puff, whatever, Tussle or whatever it was, but I don't remember the Cole. Puff and Drake, it was Puff and somebody's football coach, and it was Puff and Cole.
Starting point is 00:52:21 All this was, I think, around the same time. I don't remember it, and I'm not asking. And I'm not asking. But what is this? Multiple sources familiar with the situation told Complex and went down like this. Diddy was visibly in talk. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:52:35 He tried to confront Kendrick over the King of New York claim and the control freestyle. Yeah, you goddamn right. I can't see. Diddy allegedly attempted to pour a drink on Kendrick and J. Cole intervened. The two started arguing and Cole allegedly put his hands on Diddy, which then led to problems between their respective crews.
Starting point is 00:52:56 After a brief scuffle, both crews separated. So he was trying to break it up. All right, this is not the story that I heard at all. At all. I didn't hear the story at all and the story that i did hear i'm not repeating but i heard it like that i heard it didn't go like that okay and i heard it wasn't a tussle really i heard i wasn't there i don't know puff didn't tell me i don't have an inside source not a connection but uh yeah but to talk about it though but to talk about it he said
Starting point is 00:53:28 something finally all of these years there's never like actually been confirmation unless you were there but how do we feel that's dope my last scrap was with puff who would have thought it that's dope somebody say something my last scrap was with Puff Who would've thought it? I just said that's dope Bought that nigga album in 7th grade Played it so much You would've thought my favorite rapper was Puff Back then
Starting point is 00:53:50 Who cares? How do y'all feel That he said it? He addressed it I think it's dope He's established now He probably couldn't say it You know
Starting point is 00:53:58 He's still kinda coming up He's rich now And he's trying to retire No I just think he's Putting it all out on his record On the album period He's going in his bag Yeah he's opening up a little he's addressing all the hated niggas that have been saying he's this that type of rapper he came with a whole different vibe in the beginning then he went to his regular uh j cole shit at the end but these first few songs shocked me that he even
Starting point is 00:54:20 picked those beats for his album for his project project, it kind of shocked me. All of these stories that have gone on in whatever time frame this was about Puff and these physical altercations and every time his name comes up
Starting point is 00:54:34 in something, the fans start beating me down about why I don't say something to Puff. Why am I not stepping to Puff? Because all the stories is Puff beating people up. Why is Puff not giving
Starting point is 00:54:40 the locks to the Macy's mask, blah, blah, blah. Fam, you ask him. Now you know how we feel. You ask them. Now you know how we feel. You ask them. Now you know how we feel. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:49 What about me? Yeah. For the last 10 years. No, yeah, but especially for the last couple days. That's literally what it's all been. Nah, for 15 years. I do try to. I know that.
Starting point is 00:54:57 I try to protect people that know me from all the shit that may come along with me, including y'all in moments like this where everybody's not built for all of that. Not built for. But maybe not used to. All of that scrutiny. So many comments from different places.
Starting point is 00:55:16 So many feelings and emotions. From different places. It could be a lot. It could be like an onslaught. So when I came on here to apologize. And it was. Some of that was for y'all because y'all have kind of just been thrust into a situation that had nothing to do with you guys
Starting point is 00:55:31 uh parks you've been having the venus venus williams these comments away from you venus and serena these shits over the net. Yeah. You're swinging with all your might. I listen to Alex and Savon's podcast. They whole crew sound stressed. Yeah. It's been a lot. They whole crew sound stressed. The two new people on the pod that I don't know sound stressed.
Starting point is 00:55:58 They sound stressed just for y'all, just because y'all be in the room. Yeah. It was interesting to hear you guys' thoughts. I know Park's recorded something I'm going to listen to later. Seeing all of this feedback and all this. I do need to apologize to Rory as well. Maybe Rory and Maul too, but definitely Rory. Some of that stuff said, though it wasn't released the way it's normally released.
Starting point is 00:56:23 It was released behind a paywall. People still got it. I mean, well, who knew that? Listen. Who knew that all that spice was going to get picked up? Yeah, like it's the internet. It's out. It's out.
Starting point is 00:56:36 Well, the thing about that is things always do sound a lot spicier on the go out. They do. Like it didn't feel that spicy to me in here, number one. Me either. There's a couple little jabs, but... But when it dropped, but when it dropped, it maybe lived for about five minutes
Starting point is 00:56:55 until I called Savon, like, let's just put this behind the paywall. We don't need to live this way. I didn't know it was all of this, and they sure enough found a clip, bootlegged it, sent it around the pod where I think the bootleg clip might have done some numbers. For sure. One popped up in my, I hit Ian like, yo, man, somebody done ripped it. Here, do what you got to do and get this taken down.
Starting point is 00:57:20 He's like, oh, shit, good luck. I didn't even know. Yes, I snitched the link out. Yes, I did. Snitch. down he's like oh shit good look i didn't even know yes i snitched the link out yes i did snitch yeah i want to i want to apologize to rory whenever whenever i speak to him or whenever we get to a space and i apologize to y'all too if you think i was being spicy i wasn't i don't think in my personal opinion but i get it i'm standing next to you so i put it behind a paywall
Starting point is 00:57:39 it didn't matter the bootleg went around also what we need to address say von erickson parks we have to hire uh we have to hire uh what a new editing crew like why do we miss every edit ever said the edit that i called save on and said hey don't put this out until this is edited out and then i was on it for hours then y'all hit me back and said yo we found it and then it went out with that exact part that has to be edited that can't happen understand I'm not trying to assess blame here I'm trying to say that can no longer
Starting point is 00:58:14 happen you guys I never got a note of that that can never happen again I took everything out that I got notes on if you haven't noticed we've had a few problems this year where things that were supposed to be edited out went out. Newsflash is too big. The bootleg did numbers. The bootleg did numbers.
Starting point is 00:58:30 And I do want to apologize to Rory when I speak to him since that last pod. And I think, you know, I've done a lot of internal. Everything I say comes out wrong, too. You're good at that. Is that Asperger's? It's assholers.
Starting point is 00:58:48 It's assholers. You're a dick. I don't want to be. This thing is trying to put a little affliction on his assholeness. Listen. That was a good one though.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Ever since that last part, I've just been having like pictures in my head of every moment that me and the guys have ever had together. Hugs on stage. Playing with songs.
Starting point is 00:59:16 Oh my God. Come on. Yeah, no, I have. Same, I have too. I have. I have too. I have. Maybe I can get back, man.
Starting point is 00:59:24 You know. So when I was in here saying shit like, let me clarify some things. When I say I didn't ask you to do shit for me, because I don't ask y'all to do shit for me. But that's the man thing to me. You just don't ask men too much shit. But when I say I never asked you to do something, that don't mean I'm not appreciative. It don't mean I'm not grateful. It just means I never asked. But when you say that but but you know when do you when do you say that
Starting point is 00:59:50 and then not sound like a dickhead you sound like you can never say because you're not supposed to ever say that you shouldn't say that that's true uh it's like saying yo you never asked your mother to do something yeah yeah but then you only say that right when and this is just me have nothing to do with the fellas or anything i just have a problem this has been my whole life you can ask my parents with people feeling like they have authority over me that has nothing to do with the guys that has nothing to do people can't come to me and act like they have control over what my next move is. Because I'm going to do something crazy. I'm going to do something that you didn't factor in.
Starting point is 01:00:33 And I'm going to be cool with dealing with it. And I talked about that in the pod. Like, that's kind of the gift and curse of Joe Budden. Like, you're crazy. And that's great. And everyone loves it and is entertained by it until it affects them. But I don't want that to affect people I love, which is why I'm going to apologize to Rory. Because me and Rory got so many fly nigga moments together.
Starting point is 01:00:56 Like fly, friend type of vibey. Like it's unfortunate that they may not feel that we're so friendly today. And it's unfortunate I can't not feel that we're so friendly today. And it's unfortunate. I can't tell you how we got here. Maybe aside from if I'm taking accountability, poor leadership skills, but yeah,
Starting point is 01:01:14 communication skills. I mean, it's, but everyone's to blame. That was kind of, that was the theme of my shit. Everyone's to blame. Everyone's right.
Starting point is 01:01:22 And everyone's wrong. Yeah. I'd be right. and I'd go about it wrong. Yeah, that's what I said. That's what they had to do. And they were right, but they went about it wrong. Yeah, that actually makes sense. And as far as the spiciness and all the mean shit you said in the podcast, people aren't really privy to the phone calls that you got right before we went on air. You're mad.
Starting point is 01:01:42 You're upset. You're sad. Well, that's the other downside to doing it. And I the way to all the i'm dick riding joe i'm trying to protect my job i'm mad too these guys i love these guys and them doing shit affects my life and my income and my friendships with them and with other people but not just mad see and that's why i have a therapist coming here okay that's why it's not just mad there's hurt yeah hurt there's shock there's disappointment there's anger like there's a whole melting pot of emotions and it's heavy and it's heavy heavy for me heavy for me because it was the right thing to do heavy because
Starting point is 01:02:20 it was the right thing to do it was but that's going to always be the result with me. I don't respond well when I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. That's the other thing. Like, these things are constant things about me that I'm aware of. Right. And I'll try to combat it, but if it don't look like resolution is coming, if you keep trying to hurt me, I'm going to say ouch. All right.
Starting point is 01:02:46 And it also hurt the fans. And that's the part that hurts doubly, I guess. And that's why they lash out and say wild shit, because they're hurt and upset. Besides the ones that just want us to fail. There's those guys, too. Yeah, but there's no such thing as failure at this point. Like last podcast, I think I said the one that didn't go out to everybody might not i think i said if they start a podcast i'm gonna sue that was hurt that was hurt am i am i suing
Starting point is 01:03:11 anybody for starting the pod actually i encourage it like they should it would be a shame the same way i told uh ice and ish when they came here for four weeks and then it looked like it was about to stop i said yo you've built up too much value to let it go. Did I say that to both of y'all? Yeah, that's what you told me. In that very short time, you've built something, so you have to do something with it if you started to build something, if you want to.
Starting point is 01:03:35 I say the same thing for those brothers, man. There's no reason why they shouldn't have a Mixie Boy podcast or any type of podcast. Get your shit off. I already gave them the title once, I think. Dude is eating out here. And that is how you do it. And if you love somebody
Starting point is 01:03:49 the way I love both of them, in spite of where the relationship stands, you want to see people do better and you want to see people get to it. Of course, you always wish them well. Yeah, but it just sucks that that's part of the gig is having to come in here in real time
Starting point is 01:04:02 while you're feeling shit, while you're going through shit, while while you hopefully that changes for me so hopefully i can respond with responding things as classy as you guys one day it's hard though it's hard it's hard when you're hurt that's not easy in my head i'm classy the whole room just gonna laugh yeah whole room just bust out yeah you can't really work in my head in my head i'm classy but see that's where i got mad when i seen rory's response publicly i get mad at niggas like that i get mad when people respond perfectly publicly i hate that shit why So you wanted the messy shit? No, no.
Starting point is 01:04:48 I like peace and serenity, but I felt like, don't give me the front-facing perfect shit and then be, like, he called me messy, and he was right. Like, that shit maybe was messy, but I think the behind-the-scenes, some of the behind-the-scenes shenanigans
Starting point is 01:05:03 have been messy. I think how y'all have gone about this with your council and your team and without communicating may be messy. We just have different definitions of things and maybe different routes for how shit should go. That's all. But I definitely love those guys. Me too. Now you can't turn the love off. You can't just like switch that.
Starting point is 01:05:26 Too much there. I just wish that everyone would have went about it differently myself included it is what it is people react out of emotion anger uh what did you wish what do you wish that you would have done differently um man you throw me one of those waters please i mean starting from the top the whole thing uh the the conversation that was had i probably didn't need to tell anybody. But at the same time, shit is fucked up in business. I feel like people should know. I could have sat on it and it would have probably been a bigger grenade later. Well, that's what would have happened.
Starting point is 01:05:58 Yeah. It would have become a bigger grenade. That was also not the first one of those conversations. Also, I know. grenade that was also not the first one of those conversations also i know and savon and alex on y'all podcast uh savon was saying to me that i have to know as the boss and a leader that people are going to talk behind my back yes right you said that regular shit well why don't you say that to my face why you say on the podcast it's been been up for five, six weeks, Avon. It never came up.
Starting point is 01:06:29 And that's the other part. This stuff is important. I've definitely told you that. That is the other. But you told me a bunch of shit over 10 years. Why is that a guarantee? What's that? That your employees are going to talk shit about you? Right.
Starting point is 01:06:43 It's just the nature of capitalism, I think. It's corporate. I wonder if my guys talk shit about me. Yeah, they talk shit about you. They definitely do. You can be the best guy in the world. They're still going to, I don't like the way you did this. No, they do.
Starting point is 01:06:56 And that would be some shit that would offend you and drive you up the wall. I'm going to go ask them. Y'all be talking about me when I ain't here. The answer is yes. I'm going to tell you no. I'm going to be like, yo, y'all be talking. Why you use this drywall? Yeah, y'all be kicking my back me when i ain't here you know why you be doing why you use this drywall yeah y'all be kicking my back out when i ain't here say von man you got to get rid of whatever
Starting point is 01:07:10 that is that exists that barrier that that makes you feel like you're unable to say some of that stuff to me but say it on a podcast do you know that that is why you're positioned right there positioned right there niggas don't be one niggas don't be one if you know that's why you're positioned right there then you know that's why you have to say something
Starting point is 01:07:37 if y'all brothers are on the side and you hear something that it may be a little if y'all ever see me going in a way that appears, you got to say, especially,
Starting point is 01:07:51 no, not just that, especially from a position of, of, uh, you ask, you're saying it takes a lot, but it takes a lot.
Starting point is 01:08:00 You're saying it takes a lot, but it takes a lot. Newsflash for any of the people that are confused, this is next level shit. I know we just in Park's crib, but it needs to be cared for and guarded and protected and saw about differently than probably anything that we've ever been a part of outside of family
Starting point is 01:08:22 and shit that we love. You know what I'm saying? Right? No? Yeah, that makes sense. I don't hear nothing you're saying and it you got to find a mic you you you find i i can't speak for him but i could see how it might be a difficult position to be in um no shot he's a subordinate right so as such you as such, you kind of got to tap dance. You got to pick and choose
Starting point is 01:08:47 when you could come to the boss and say certain shit, right? He probably also feels like Mullen Roy or his boss, too. And not only on... So, again, if they can't work it out, I'm the newest nigga here.
Starting point is 01:08:59 Right. Who the fuck am I to work it out if they can't work it out? And on top of that... And speak out of pocket or speak out of turn. They friends. Not know who you offending. You get what I'm saying? Like, that can't work it out? And on top of that. And speak out of pocket or speak out of turn. They friends. Not know who you offending.
Starting point is 01:09:06 You get what I'm saying? Like, that's a real tough position. I'm not saying that he couldn't have handled it in a different way, but I see how you might want to be like, yo, I'm good.
Starting point is 01:09:14 No, he's right though. Like I said, and the fact that they're friends. Y'all are friends. I don't know y'all. I'm the new nigga here. That's what I said. He's the new guy here.
Starting point is 01:09:22 So it's hard for me to come here and say, yo, there's an issue between y'all that you might not know. Y'all are taking this conversation somewhere else. I told Savon that he should have the liberty to say, yo, dog, people are going to talk about your back. Oh, just that part. Just that. Well, you should know that.
Starting point is 01:09:39 That's the case. Well, I do know that. So why he got to tell you that? No, that's a legit question. Yeah, I'm just... Yeah, when you're a boss of any business, shit, I've worked for my sister and brother-in-law for years.
Starting point is 01:09:53 We talk shit about behind their back. That's my fucking sister. It's just what you do. The employees get together and they get a couple drinks and they say, I don't like the way they do this shit and shit. Everything could be fine.
Starting point is 01:10:01 And it's still, I don't like the fucking lights you got here. Yeah. I guess. I guess. I guess. Give me the list of things ish that I can say behind your back
Starting point is 01:10:10 that you okay with. I'd like a list of things from each of you of shit that y'all are cool with me kicking your back in about behind your back.
Starting point is 01:10:24 behind my back but not be kicking my back in. And that's what I think. And number two, you can say whatever you want to say as long as you are capable and willing to tell me to. Or, if you feel I'm a fuck nigga, you can say, yo, I feel he a fuck nigga. So everybody in here. But I don't care. Or either you tell it to you, or I don't't care and we're just going to keep on keeping up. That's my man.
Starting point is 01:10:46 He a fuck nigga, but he's still my man. I love him. Exactly. But you have to be willing to say it to me also. Right? Like you can't be willing. Yo, man, I don't fuck with that nigga. Like that.
Starting point is 01:10:55 When you start saying shit like I don't fuck with him, that's different. Because you fucking with him. I was about to say while fucking with him. While fucking with me. That's different. But if you could say something behind my back, as long as you're willing and capable to tell me to, then you can say whatever the fuck you want to say. That's my opinion. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:11:11 You can say whatever you want to say, as long as you're willing to tell me. Okay. Like, if you see me fucking up and you tell them you see me fucking up, but I'm your man and you ain't tell me you see me fucking up, I got an issue with that. Because you could potentially correct me you see me fucking up. I got an issue with that. Because you could potentially correct me from going astray. That's what friends, like that term is used mad way too loosely. Niggas don't be friends. You might have known somebody a long time.
Starting point is 01:11:37 That don't mean they're your friend. Right? Because friendship is an action, not in words to me. Right? So if you're not acting like a friend, you could say you're my friend just because I've known you for 50 acting like a friend you could say you're my friend just because i've known you for 50 fucking years that don't mean you're my friend because because again to me friendship is an action not really in words yeah but because of that yeah but it's so real that because of that when there is distinction in the friendship like let's say you start out one way and then you fall off to a different level that that that's never really discussed it's gradual so it's
Starting point is 01:12:13 gradual that's never a that's never a conversation that's something you feel right but guess what when you energy but when you are really friends you can call your man And be like yo Something's off Like you just said It's a feeling Yo something's off The energy Do we need to have a conversation It's the energy
Starting point is 01:12:31 Do we need to have a conversation I see a difference here What's up Something's different That's real shit We need to have a conversation Yo come over And holla at me
Starting point is 01:12:39 Right Like come Come through Yo you hungry You can Even if you feel And they don't feel it Yo what you doing Yo I'm about to go to the mall And get them in your sights right like come come come through yo you hungry you can even if you feel it now philly yo what
Starting point is 01:12:45 you're doing y'all about to go to the mall and get them in your sights and once you get them in your sights now you can have a conversation that may be unpleasant right you know that he ain't that type of guy he don't want to have awkward talks but if you value your friendship force the awkward talk correct to save the friendship before it keeps just going on a downhill slope. And in Joe's defense, cue the Dick Ryders here. No, I'm not even talking about Dick Ryders. No, no. In Joe's defense, he reached out and tried
Starting point is 01:13:13 to have a sit down and got blown off. From what I heard. Allegedly. Yeah. But again, I don't really want to go, but some of these things could have potentially been festering for years. That's absolutely right.
Starting point is 01:13:30 And they've never been discussed. That's absolutely the case. So again, two years ago, three years ago, five years ago, whatever, the conversation could have been had amongst two people. And that would have had people in a more solid foundation. Or any time between the two, three years ago and today. No, I was just throwing it out.
Starting point is 01:13:48 No, no, see, I wasn't even talking about that situation. I know, but... I was just saying, seven years ago, five years ago, three years ago,
Starting point is 01:13:54 we could have had a conversation when I... We both felt it because energy, you could feel it, right? So did you see the difference? Either party or both parties
Starting point is 01:14:02 felt something. Mm-hmm. And if you owe it to your friendship to... Yo, let me holler at you. In your business. I love you, dog. What we doing?
Starting point is 01:14:09 Something feels off. Even if it's not business. But even if it's not. Again, I don't want to bring Maul and Rory in this. I'm just talking about general friendship. Two chicks. It could be two chicks. Right?
Starting point is 01:14:21 And one chick felt like Shorty said something Out of the way to her man Mm-hmm They'll hold that Yeah And it'll fester And it'll just sit there And now y'all friendship
Starting point is 01:14:31 Has changed over the last four years Pull her up Yo I didn't really like What you said to such and such People don't want to have That conversation It could be a misunderstanding
Starting point is 01:14:38 And the air get cleared And y'all be fine Or it could have been something But at least y'all know what it is And y'all can address that And dictate how you gonna move on It's really easy to say that yeah because nobody likes nobody likes some hard combos that people will speak more freely to strangers that's why people got therapists yeah they feel just cool to speak to the therapist you could just go right right or
Starting point is 01:15:02 or the co-workers shit they won't say to their wife shit they won't say to their husband i'm supposed to be the closest person to you in the world they'll tell a therapist something they can't tell a wife that's crazy to me sometimes you have to you have to do that to get to the other thing you have to uh you can have all the thoughts in the world but sometimes you need to express it to someone else to make sure you're not bugging or to organize your thoughts in a cohesive way to go back to the other person. But if you never go back to the other person... And a lot of times, what will happen is you don't want to go to that other
Starting point is 01:15:32 person because you don't want to hurt that person. Or you fear what could... You fear what could happen. The consequences of having the conversation. Like, this could potentially be the end of us. And I really don't necessarily want that either. On the friendship tip, I get to thinking
Starting point is 01:15:47 if we're really friends and we go through something and destroy and rebuild should be in effect. If the friendship was real, then it'll come back. I'm not talking about, I'm not speaking. I'm worrying more. I'm talking about in general. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:16:03 Not just that. I agree with what you're saying unless you do some shit that you can't come back that's a don't like i got do's and don'ts yeah right and if you do a something that's a clear don't i could walk by i this is a person i have motherfuckers that i slept in a house when i was five six seven eight years old that i won't speak to at all and haven't spoken to them for double digit years. You get what I'm saying? If I feel like you did something that you knew better.
Starting point is 01:16:32 I got a family member like that. My only thing with friends is when I confirm that you are intentionally trying to hurt me, that's out the window. I have a problem with that. I take the friendship shades off. I have a problem with that. That's right.
Starting point is 01:16:46 I have a problem with that. I take the friendship shades off. I say relationship, period. Friends, family, it ain't got to be whatever. You can't hurt a relationship. Once you're trying to hurt me, that's it.
Starting point is 01:16:58 Intentionally? Yeah, you're trying. You're actively and intentionally trying to hurt me. I agree. At that point, we have nothing. I don't care whether you are a friend, a girlfriend, a family, whatever it is, whatever the relationship was,
Starting point is 01:17:10 co-work, whatever, whatever we were, it's over at that point. Yeah, I agree. And at that point, there is no going back. Like, there's certain things, you cross that bridge, it's over. Yeah. Or it's going to take a very long time
Starting point is 01:17:21 to get back to the bridge. I'm good. And even when we get to the bridge, it's not going to be a bridge we'll meet on the shore I've had very close friends that violated to a level that I thought I couldn't come back and 15 years later
Starting point is 01:17:33 we can occasionally exchange a text I have a sister that I will never speak to you might be better than me my nigga I'm being perfectly honest here I have family that I got to get with. I've seen that in my family. I'm not getting with them.
Starting point is 01:17:48 My grandfather and his brother had a fucking fucked up thing happen and they never spoke to each other for the rest of their life. And that shit still kind of makes me sad because y'all should have figured out a way to work that shit out at some point. So I'm not with the whole burn the bridge completely. I am. I am. I'm not even going to lie.
Starting point is 01:18:03 I'm burning the whole shit. Burn that shit down. No, the only way I might start getting my jigsaw construction bag out is when you literally,
Starting point is 01:18:13 I mean, you got to come to me, right? Mm-hmm. With this, because apologies are hard. Yeah. Accountability is hard.
Starting point is 01:18:20 Sincere ones. Sincere, accountability is, uh, uh. How we start talking again i apologize of course you did bitch ass nigga but anyway but anyway nah again accountability like accountability is just a thing like you got to be accountable and if you don't hold yourself
Starting point is 01:18:38 accountable then we have nothing to discuss right if you if, yo, I did some fuck shit, and I'm sorry, dog. Then we can... I'm a... Yeah, I miss you, too. Yeah, but again, nah. If you not willing to hold accountability for what you've done, it's nothing for us to discuss. Because I'm going to keep moving like I don't know you. See, but that's...
Starting point is 01:19:00 It gets trickier than that. Because even some of what I said in the last part, not any of the shit where I'm hurting and in pain. But some of that shit that I said to Rory, I may not have even felt like I needed to say it to him. I might have needed to say it to whoever he's talking to. Like sometimes you got to speak through through people who whoever and I'm assuming now whoever it is that may be putting batteries in backs that maybe may think they have a bright idea or maybe fueling him to hurt someone that he loves. Yeah, they need to hear where I'm at. I need to come in here and say what's going on. So I so I want so it could be documented and two so everybody
Starting point is 01:19:46 will be working with the same information because i don't know who'll be talking to niggas i don't no but my stance don't change like whether it's rory or rory's handlers or i mean my position is my position you're still the same and the fucked up part is i kept trying to get them out the way of the blast like i felt I felt a blast coming. Your grown people handle grown business, right? So if you, because this is what my opinion is, and I'm going through a similar situation as we speak, right? So if your advisors are advising you, they're advising you based on what you told them. So if you're leaving information for the
Starting point is 01:20:26 most part right we all leave information out when we're expressing our feelings so you leave the information out if you came to me and said yo i caught my wife doing some bullshit i'm gonna advise you right you ain't telling me that you did this it was a response to what you did right you left all so i'm advise you but if you gave me the whole entire story in its entirety, I'm going to advise you differently. It's not true. It is true. People omit, in my opinion, people omit. Purposeful omission or exaggeration is a lie.
Starting point is 01:20:57 That's tricky. I've argued against that in arguments. You have. You're the king of that. If you didn't catch me. Purposeful omission? Absolutely. Well, why wouldn't everybody me- Of purposeful omission? Absolutely. Well, why wouldn't everybody
Starting point is 01:21:06 take advantage of purposeful omission? So you don't have to take accountability. Oh, no, but I'm big on accountability too, so don't do that. If you're big on accountability- You just told me, you called me a bitch ass nigga because I came here and apologized
Starting point is 01:21:18 and I took it. I didn't even say nothing. But again, if you could get away with the purposeful omission, you're not willing to take accountability.ission, you not willing to take accountability. Because when you're willing to take accountability, you're going to throw all the cards on the table and say, yo, I apologize sincerely. Right. But if you can leave me about that, I could kind of get it off.
Starting point is 01:21:36 You get what I'm saying? Like, so I don't have to own everything. Yeah, accountability. Accountability is recognizing the part that you played in the result and owning it and owning it and highlighting it and attempting to change it right own it but I think it's a little bit more you have to express that to the other party no exactly like I. Like, I can know I'm wrong, but if I don't tell you that, yo, I was wrong, that's a little different. Well, we have a guest. Let me give him a round of applause. We have a guest here because clearly a room full of men navigating emotions didn't turn out the greatest.
Starting point is 01:22:22 It did not. Yeah. So we had to invite a woman. We've invited a woman here. I have therapist Alicia here. I've never said therapist Alicia. I know. You just call me Doc.
Starting point is 01:22:36 I say Doc. Yeah, Doc. Yeah, because it ain't time for all them syllables in therapist time. In therapist time, Doc, this is what the fuck is going on but i have doc alicia here uh with us to help us through any trauma and pain that anyone may be feeling doc we've had a tumultuous few weeks here to say the less of the least well you know you know because uh i call you every time i call you right before i hit the button every time therapist yeah it's not just a therapist right i have called uh your therapy i've called this is one of my therapists i have
Starting point is 01:23:10 a few therapists okay but uh i have called doc when sin and i were on our last leg there was a lot of those sessions uh and then i called doc a lot after that relationship ended. Had to get on my feet. Had to get back right, right? Absolutely. And then I called Doc for Rory, for him and I. This is for you guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. For him and I. And we sat there for a few sessions.
Starting point is 01:23:38 And here I am calling Doc again. She getting that money. No, no. You giving out loans? No, no. Now, she getting a lot of money because so many people's mental health is in the basement during this pandemic. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:23:51 She used to stay 30 minutes past the appointment. Now she rushes out. Hey, I have to go. Hey, Doc, but I'm crying. I have another session. Can't really stick around too long. I gave you a life plan you were supposed to
Starting point is 01:24:06 follow the plan after I leave I think I did I read it though it's okay he said it was helpful it was you can't just read it
Starting point is 01:24:17 it helped me to implosion it led me right to let me clarify too right because therapy is not somebody that just fixes the whole problem, right? We just help you figure it out, right?
Starting point is 01:24:29 And sometimes figuring it out is ending it or continuing with clarity, right? On everybody's roles and expectations. So it's not always necessary to fix something. It's just to hash out whatever needs to be talked about and brought to the no i blew it yeah no no yeah no well you've been a little resistant in therapy sometimes so it's okay yes yes what you meant to say was i challenged thought oh. That's fine. I am a thought challenger. How much therapizing does he try to do with you? A whole lot. A whole lot. Like, dog, look,
Starting point is 01:25:09 just you get on the couch. You get on the couch. She be wrong. You're wrong. I'm like, okay. I could be, but it's just another way to think about it. Because she never sees where I'm coming from. When I mean I say never. Don't say that. Let me not say never. She sees where I be coming from. That's what it is.. Don't say that. She sees where I be coming from.
Starting point is 01:25:25 That's what it is. I'm neutral, right? This is what it is. I'm always in therapy when it's a twosome or threesome, whatever you call that, with somebody who probably is more sensitive to things than I am. That's what I feel like.
Starting point is 01:25:41 In therapy, it's time to let's focus on this person, what the issue may be, and what I can change to make them feel better. In therapy, I never really feel like you're addressing any of my problems. Well, because that's not individual therapy. You're always affecting how I deal with somebody else. But you just admitted that most times you're not as sensitive as they are, which means nine times out of out of ten you're the aggressor his need for therapy my point right so do you think i'd be the aggressor in things probably 90 of your relationships you're the aggressor wow maybe 95 do you have a calculator are you just pulling these numbers out of okay i, I'm open to this. But here's the reality, right?
Starting point is 01:26:25 Couples therapy is not just me pick one person to now focus on. It's both of you, right? So you equally play a part, whether it is you're pressing the button all the time or this person is overly sensitive. My response is just always louder than the other person's initiation possibly but that's also personality right you know if you have a dominant personality that's going to show up in a session right but that doesn't always mean that your dominant personality is right it's accurate right right so you know sometimes you it's good to look at things not just in one perspective but all perspectives right because
Starting point is 01:27:06 it's not just you that you're dealing with you're dealing with someone else their mind their views their values so it may be very different from yours and how can you two meet doc for months for months people have seen me try to troubleshoot behind the scenes and think of everyone else's position but my own am i am i off in that no oh now y'all want to say that's cool but yeah that's correct but i also told you joe you need your own therapy right outside of those sessions when you work with someone else that is going to kick up something and you need to have a place to process that on your own yeah right here i got i got you with a whole room full of people a whole world full of people a whole world full
Starting point is 01:27:52 of people only a million people listen but it's okay you know i do no harm because you're very open so um i i can see where i can see where i have failed in this equation where is that um oh i was saying before you got here i maybe have not showed the best leadership skills or the best uh management skills managing people managing personalities absolutely maybe i haven't been the best communicator that's a big part of management. Well, why people don't know. The biggest. You said why people?
Starting point is 01:28:29 Why people don't. Why you didn't know. No, why people don't know. Why people don't know what? People aren't managers. Whatever I need to communicate. Why you didn't know, nigga, what you was doing. I'm joking.
Starting point is 01:28:41 But those are the areas where I felt like maybe I could have worked on a little more and delivery but delivery is always my problem it's going to be a problem it is until you acknowledge it as a problem you may not see it as a problem right now like I said part of that is your personality
Starting point is 01:29:00 I don't see it as a problem if you try to attack me 1000 times and at 100 thousand and one you get a bad delivery no but i don't see it that way conversation needs to be had on a third attack it shouldn't be a thousand but what if you have those conversations well first is why it could be the way you have in that we don't get to a thousand but why are you labeling it an attack right if someone says something that doesn't mean it's an attack on you it's only you and how you perceiving that oh no i was using the word attack for when i go but that was always your
Starting point is 01:29:33 theme right you know doc is not taking my side because this person is coming at me and they're saying this to me and i say you never pick my side it's okay it's okay go ahead that's part of your growth right because you're very assertive, right? And you're very knowledgeable, intelligent, you know, right? But what we talked about is the difference between logical, intelligent, and emotional intelligence, right? And if we're not emotionally intelligent in certain situations, we're bound to react a certain way. So this is where I say for you, the work comes in is, okay, act a certain way. So this is where I say for you, the work comes in is, okay, once I see how my delivery is and how it affects someone, right? I want to empower change in that person, right? I don't want them to continue to do what they're doing. So I'm not going to keep attacking or
Starting point is 01:30:17 addressing them or approaching them the same way if I know I'm not getting a result. Indeed. Right? Right. So, you know, we call that insanity. Sorry, I didn't want to say that, but... I'm going to edit it out. No, you're insane. You can say whatever you want. Doing the same thing and expecting a different result, right?
Starting point is 01:30:37 Absolutely. You said therapy, right? I did 90 different things. Nah, again, like, all jokes aside, what she's saying, with management, right? Doc, do you know I'm never going to therapy
Starting point is 01:30:47 with a man? Do you know that? That you what? That I'm never going to therapy in a couple session with a man. I would hope not. What do you mean you would hope?
Starting point is 01:30:56 You've had a million female... Well, listen, most male will gravitate to female therapists though most males
Starting point is 01:31:07 will you know no he's talking about no he's saying he's never been in couples therapy I'm saying I went to therapy
Starting point is 01:31:13 with Rory with you and I've never done that before so you saying I did try to do a bunch of different things that's proof
Starting point is 01:31:22 I'll give you that that is trying something different I give you that for argument's sake mad other talks no that's how many sessions you were present for how many sessions
Starting point is 01:31:32 did I do with Rory alone but that's not therapy if you're doing it alone that's a conversation I was being his therapist you can't be his therapist you can't be his therapist I was just about to say that he thinks can't be a therapist. You can't be a therapist. I was just about to say that. He thinks he's the therapist.
Starting point is 01:31:47 That's the problem. That's the problem right there. Right. He just acknowledged his limitations as a manager, and now you want to take on a role as a therapist? That's way too much. Yeah, that's true. On your plate. So I think that might have been-
Starting point is 01:31:59 Well, that's been part of the problem. You just hit that on the head. It is. I have had too much on my plate. Okay. I think it's... Oh, I'm sorry. No, go ahead.
Starting point is 01:32:09 I think it's an experience thing, too. Like, you're running a multi-million dollar business, right? It's new to you. And unfortunately, these are the bumps and bruises that come along with that. It's like coaching, right? Your point guard, you could curse him out to get the best out of him. But if you curse your center out, he going to wilt up. You got to pull the center to the side.
Starting point is 01:32:30 Yo, come on, man. You got this dog. And you're going to get the best out of him by communicating with him that way. Your point guard, you got to curse, what, mother? And he going to kick up, right? So you got to deal with each person individually because this person responds to this stimulus. This person doesn to this stimulus. This person doesn't respond well.
Starting point is 01:32:49 That was my knock on Phil Jackson. He critiqued everybody in the media. Some people don't take to that well. Like Smush killed him, right? So. I don't know what Smush did. Smush Parker. I don't even know who that is.
Starting point is 01:33:00 I do know who Smush is. You're an asshole. I knew what you were saying. But again. Yeah, but he was making such a profound point and then said smush Parker like nigga dummy
Starting point is 01:33:09 alright but go ahead no look you could critique Colby in the media because Colby's gonna respond well but when you critique this individual in the media it doesn't
Starting point is 01:33:17 give him the motivation that you were looking for so you're new in running a a conglomerate and you're looking to ascend to even bigger things, so your approach might not, you got to
Starting point is 01:33:27 figure out what works with parks. What works with parks might not work with Save Arm. You get what I'm saying? So it's just trial and error. Or delegate someone that can do that better. Absolutely. But your trial and error is coming in front of the world. Right. Unfortunately. So if you was running a Fortune 500 company,
Starting point is 01:33:44 nobody would know that you're the ceo and you having these conversations with these people and it's and it's turning into shambles unfortunately yours is being broadcast to everybody to sit there and nitpick every day on twitter and that's the unfortunate part like again if you was running at&t you could be fucking up behind the scenes but your profit margin is popping so you looking at like the greatest CEO in the world here your shit is on four cameras in front of everybody every single day
Starting point is 01:34:10 well that's why I have to do a better job I agree but it's trial and error though that's good insight because when things go you did you did he's got cash he missed mad callings You did. You did. You did. You should. He's got cash. Well, listen, I believe everybody can. He missed the man calling.
Starting point is 01:34:28 Everybody can be a therapist. You know, they can be some type of mentor. But I think awareness is key. So just you having that insight. Okay, it didn't work out the way I wanted to. Let me take a step back. Let me evaluate what was my approach, what things I could do different. That's that whole processing thing that I feel also wasn't really happening.
Starting point is 01:34:52 Processing? Yeah, for yourself. With me? Yeah, yeah. Just when the conflict first began, just, all right, if it happened this way, what should I do different? It was just like, okay, whatever, you know, just show up. I agree. Just show up. And I was like, that's not all that's needed to make things work. Yeah. But when you say conflict. When people have a hard time communicating or aren't the best communicators, sometimes whatever their problem is at the core may come out all over the place, right?
Starting point is 01:35:27 So I think when I was trying to address it, I think I was late to the party. I think I was the last one to know. Yes. I was the last one to know there was an issue, right? And by the time I found out there was an issue and I was trying to address it, it wasn't the right issue.
Starting point is 01:35:43 And it was so many things on the friend side. Then it was so many things on the friend side then it was so many things on the business side and now you just offending me on both sides and now if i'm talking to somebody who don't give a fuck about therapy or give a fuck about how i'm feeling in in the moment here then it's like at some point i'm gonna say dog you know what fuck how you feel too and that's when I end up calling yes and that's this is the other thing too
Starting point is 01:36:08 right fuck is the point of therapy if the person that I'm talking to ain't in therapy what but that's for your growth I know I know
Starting point is 01:36:17 I know I know yes self focus right so what you were saying about um I'm sorry I lost my train of thought i was saying
Starting point is 01:36:28 i was saying that by the time uh you find out what the problem is right there are so many different problems that you don't even know where to pinpoint right and this is what i was saying you are the ceo right and a ceo's role i think you said a little bit, about knowing your players, who's strong, who has weakness, right, and applying them in positions that suit them. And I think there wasn't no check-in, right? And once you saw that there might have been someone slacking or not meeting your expectations, if there was no discussion from the first inception of that happening is going to be difficult for you to address it in the long run there was there was discussion there was no resolve resolution yeah there was no resolve right right i just which sometimes we can have conversations and not have a resolution you know we're just talking to talk but we're still walking away
Starting point is 01:37:20 and still have the same feelings that's the purpose of therapy but two men look at it like yo we addressed it so you should fix it absolutely my opinion the entire time is all people all parties involved in this particular case should have let other people kind of discuss things because everyone's too emotionally attached absolutely a good mediator i think everyone has managers yeah a good and lawyers a good a good middle. No, I don't even think that far. I think a good middle man, like just a neutral party, would have been key here. And that's the other part where I'm taking some of the onus in this. Maybe I should have took some money and tried to hire a general manager or somebody so other people could communicate with. I can't be that person at my network. I can't be that person at my network I can't be
Starting point is 01:38:07 that person on my podcast I can't be that the people that know me personally kind of know when the yeah I mean I have to have some sort of protection of my own so yeah but I didn't I didn't do that I didn't lesson learned you know that's the lesson learned unfortunately right and sometimes some of our biggest lessons come out of our biggest falls yes so but i think the big thing for you too is just you owning that that insight and what are you now going to do with that moving forward absolutely right because now you're going to bring in a whole new team what are you going to do with that moving forward absolutely right because now you're going to bring in a whole new team what are you going to do same thing you were doing with the last team that might not be nah beneficial
Starting point is 01:38:51 that might not work you know so no that's real i don't have the answer i don't it's okay i don't think you should call in in business conversations. You said what? With your employees. You said what? I don't think Joe should have business conversations with his employees. Or my friends. Or your friends, who happen to be your employees oftentimes. Or my friends, it's not my employees.
Starting point is 01:39:16 I don't want to have them. Yeah. I don't want to have them with nobody. You really should. Dude, you creators and curators are nuts. And I'm already nuts. and i can't add nuts to nuts pause i don't y'all talk to somebody that's not nuts yeah i agree with that but you have often uh put yourself like i remember uh in the blow-up rory saying that he talked to ian
Starting point is 01:39:41 everything was straight and then you called Rory and blew up at him. Big facts. That's a fact. You shouldn't do that. You shouldn't have did it. You should have let Ian be the mediator because, again, Ian doesn't have the emotional... Let's say Rory...
Starting point is 01:39:57 And again, I hate talking about this, but let's say Rory said something to Joe. Use a different name. Tommy. We're not talking about Rory. All right. We're talking about Tommy. Rory said something to Ian. Ian's different name. Tommy. We're not talking about Rory. We're talking about Tommy. Rory said something to Ian. Ian's not going to internalize it. He's looking at it from a totally objective point of view.
Starting point is 01:40:14 Rory can say the same exact thing to Joe and Joe be like, what motherfucker? You coming at and take it totally down. That's it. Whereas Ian's going to get a resolution. Joe's going to turn the situation from a six to a ten. Joe's going to get a gas can.
Starting point is 01:40:28 The other problem that kind of arose is that I don't know if those guys trust. I didn't respond to that problem. I don't know if those guys trust Ian. So that's a whole separate thing. They don't. This was an onion. They don't.
Starting point is 01:40:37 They don't trust Ian. This was clearly an onion of issues. For years. Yes. For years. Like I said, it was a rolling ball just picking up as it was going the fact that we got as far as we got with some of the issues for as long as they've
Starting point is 01:40:52 been there to say and i'm thinking a lot of it was because it was just whatever swept under the rug yeah and that just builds more tension you know when you're when you're not really addressing it. And I think that's another learning lesson is that you got to look at how can I resolve things, right? And resolve means we both walk away with clarity and we both walk away with a good feeling. That's hard in success. Nothing is hard if you don't say it that way. It's a challenge. In success. In success. It's a challenge. And success.
Starting point is 01:41:25 And success. It's a challenge. Like the sports team, like the running back might hate the quarterback, right? But we're winning games. Right. You niggas had the number one podcast or the top ranked podcast in whatever. I don't, you know, this is the new arena for me. So even in your successes, it's like, eh, it's not a big deal because we're still winning. When it starts
Starting point is 01:41:46 to show, right, in the bottom line, when the revenue hit takes a hit or the views take a hit, now it's something that got to really be discussed when it should have been discussed two or three years ago, maybe five years ago. But now it's showing up in the money. It's showing up at the bottom line. Now it's too
Starting point is 01:42:02 late. Now it's too late. And the product starts to suck up. And so now, but based on the product fucking up, the number's fucking up. Correct. Right. Right.
Starting point is 01:42:10 So now we got to have this conversation that we should have had five years ago. So now it's kind of a difficult conversation. As long as you winning, you can sweep shit under the rug. Absolutely. You get what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:42:20 Yeah, I do. Damn, I did miss my call. I promise you, you didn't. we should we should we should have called for a third and fourth therapy session dumb shit was kicking my ass how because i don't want to sit in therapy with another man let's just talk about that you were triggered all over the place, right? So when you're triggered, it's going to be an uncomfortable situation.
Starting point is 01:42:49 Nobody wants to walk into the fire. You know, we want to make sure it's clear before I get in there. But here's what I tell people about therapy. It's going to get worse before it gets better. But if I'm triggering somebody,
Starting point is 01:43:01 I feel like they should just be able to get away from me. Like, you don't have to. Because I don't want to be a trigger to nobody. But if that's your business partner, right? And this is where you have to separate. There's a whole kid together. It's not a resolution.
Starting point is 01:43:17 There you go. That doesn't solve anything. Y'all have to deal with each other. Yo, even talking to you now and listening to them i still don't know what i could have done differently outside of uh the way in which i fired them publicly that's not true yeah you just told you all that you could have when you first that's not true detected a problem how long have you guys had a rift that you that you personally- That you are aware of. You.
Starting point is 01:43:46 Became aware of. Probably about a year and seven months. And you didn't. And that's- You didn't stop. Let's discuss this. Let's get the ship right a year and seven months ago. I did.
Starting point is 01:43:56 I did. I tried to anyway. You mentioned it. Maybe I didn't try clearly hard enough. You knew me a year and seven months ago. He didn't call me for that. He didn't try. Well, in Joe's defense,
Starting point is 01:44:06 one of the issues, and I'm not going to talk about it publicly because it's part of the mess. Yeah. The person in the room with us at the time was maybe not being truthful or honest or owning up to maybe his part in it. So I guess it was kind of difficult
Starting point is 01:44:24 to get a resolution. To get a resolution. But that's what I'm saying. In my new position, whatever this position is, because I don't know because only other people see me like this, they don't really kick it to me
Starting point is 01:44:36 the way I think that people should kick it with me. One. Two, in the event that I think I'm talking to my friend, like if I'm talking to Parks and I'm saying something, I'm like if I'm talking to parks and, and I'm, and I'm saying something, I'm communicating the way I have our entire friendship, but because the friendship is not there,
Starting point is 01:44:51 his antennas are receiving it differently. So he's responding to it differently. Like maybe I am really poor in the emotional intelligence area. Cause when I had enough, I just had enough and fuck everything. And I know how to operate and fuck everything mode but as far as the just logical intelligence part i guess when i say something different the logical explanation i tried to give to brothers who i thought were my friends and were receiving me as friends and at no point other than uh in the
Starting point is 01:45:24 art on this couch when rory's like hey maybe we're not friends but other than that at no point other than uh in the art on this couch when rory's like hey maybe we're not friends but other than that at no point did they say yo we're not receiving you that way dog i had to find it was a surprise when i had to find out through attorneys that oh y'all got the same attorney i didn't know i got to find out through this person i got to find out through through the streets like if you're doing all of this talking and it's keep coming back through the streets almost perfect to prediction why do you think so joe why do i think what why do you think that you was hearing it all from the streets rather than because they weren't happy to you no what i'm asking is why didn't come because i didn't i because i did not create a welcome
Starting point is 01:46:02 a welcoming space There you go To be spoken to Okay So that's what you gotta own And that's what y'all started out with Right? Accountability, ownership Right?
Starting point is 01:46:11 So we gotta own Sometimes when we are not creating Opportunities for people to Don't you have to know that the smoke exists To make the space? But sometimes you don't Y'all was riding for three four years but now and now you're saying the same thing that you sat there and heard me say to him in therapy
Starting point is 01:46:29 fam we've smoked hookah a million times we've watched a million fights we've watched a million basketball games we have hooked up for kickbacks we have been together entirely too much for me to have zero idea that this is the issue. And that is very common. That's common in a lot of relationships. But how do I own that? How do I own that? Just own your part. We're not saying own the whole thing.
Starting point is 01:46:52 Okay, got it, got it. Right? Own your part and not create in the forum for them to have a space to vent. Right? Because here's the reality about people venting. We shouldn't really take too much personally about venting because that is a way to release. Right. And that person to get clarity on what they need to know. Sometimes whoever they venting to may not be the best people to do it. Right. Because they may unscrew your words. But we should normalize people venting. Right. And people getting stuff over their chest before they bring it to you. But you also now have to be aware that I have to create that space for people to come and talk to me and feel comfortable with doing that. And my thing is too, one of the things I was saying is if you're always shutting what somebody else has to say down or what they're feeling, that doesn't create the openness for them to talk to you. That just shuts them down even more.
Starting point is 01:47:44 And my thing is we can agree to disagree they don't gotta know that you totally disagree with what they are feeling that person's feelings is valid well that's not true you do you do where we argue that person's feelings are valid yes my girl is mad that I liked the picture that I shouldn't like. Her feelings are real where they stem from. Fam, are we really going to talk about me liking this girl's picture? So, yeah, I can listen to my friend who has feelings and say they're all valid because there's no right or wrong in feelings. But eventually that conversation has to get to, well, what did the feelings stem from? And that's what kept happening with me and my brothers here.
Starting point is 01:48:30 We know you got feelings. I can see these feelings. I can see there's something visibly wrong. Tell me what's wrong. Okay, this is wrong, Joe. Whoa, that's wrong. That's all the way right. Why do you feel like this is wrong?
Starting point is 01:48:43 Tell me. I've never gotten any of that. Well, I answer that that I had the time to respect like it was maybe that is the core of this. OK. Right. And when I put y'all in a plan, I said the first rule of thumb is you have to have respect for one another. When you don't have that respect and sometimes those lines of respect get blurred when we have these conflicts and as i say you have to be respectful because one you have to listen to one another you have to respect what each other's saying even if we don't think it's true or we don't agree with it like that that's the first opening of creating a space to
Starting point is 01:49:20 be vulnerable if you know i'm shutting your feelings down or what you're thinking and that's where I ended up flipping out a little because they because they came here and they said that they said yo as long as there's respect in the relationship then we can get through anything and I was like yo I apologize there's respect now okay that's the first rule of thumb but but what came after that you need need more than that, though. Who? That whole situation. Y'all needed more conversation.
Starting point is 01:49:49 Right? You can't just have one or two conversations and think your whole situation is resolved. We only had one or two conversations. You don't think so? No.
Starting point is 01:49:59 No. Therapy is a process. Well, he needs a lot of it. Can't spell issues without ish. I got him. I think this. What? I think that if everybody
Starting point is 01:50:14 genuinely puts all their cards on the table and does not withhold their feelings for PC, like being politically correct or being diplomatic, and you really tell somebody how you feel, I think a resolution can come from that. All right, the percentiles are a little low.
Starting point is 01:50:32 Yes, I think you get a guide, right, on where the resolution can be, right? But it's still ongoing work. Because for Joe, he was still triggered, right? So even though they had the conversation, that wasn't eliminating well that's where i got mad because my friend my friend my friend or somebody i call my friend hold up one minute it's my friend or somebody that i call my friend we left the that conversation
Starting point is 01:50:57 of what what's what's triggering uh each other about each other right and then they continue to trigger me right because i told you and then that's when i say i gotta get fall i gotta go right because you have to learn how to deal with your triggers and you dealing with your triggers is not that person removing themselves people are going to be people you're not going to have the control over them i don't want control over people i want the people that love me to not go out of their way to hurt me. Right. But here. Right. This is this is why therapy is not just one session, because it's going to uncover more layers of stuff. Right. So now you your interpretation of their behavior is they're hurting me.
Starting point is 01:51:42 And I said, I know. and you also felt like that was their intention and i don't think that that was their intention i never said that see and that's where me and you go wrong that don't have to be your intention i don't care about your intention i care about the result and that is where we always have our i know the the intention bums in the street had intentions of fucking going to harvard you landed in the street i care about the result doc okay i don't think i think those i think they love me so and i don't and i don't wait and i don't think that they but this purposely and still left me with the benefit of the doubt but actions have told me but i don't think that they are intentionally trying to hurt me i don't
Starting point is 01:52:23 think that they see it like that in their mind at all but the result is me and my business and all things attached were being hurt I get it so I had to make a real uncomfortable decision I did that on air and all week I've been living with the weight of that not because i feel it was wrong but because i feel it was right so what so what's the weight the weight should be relief not the relief is there but it's heavy at what cost so you you got your relief right but what's the look what you had look what you had to go through to get it two of your dogs dogs, two guys that was dead in the mud, helped build it, went through all the times. It had to end like that. See, that's what my brain says. My brain says we had a two year deal and seven months after that ends.
Starting point is 01:53:20 This is what happens that this journey is way longer than that. The money that came ain't no in here the money that's coming and i just i guess i felt i just never saw none of that because i was doing it with my brothers and there was a camaraderie there yeah but when it left oh shit maybe i played a part in leaving maybe people just grow apart like i don't know i don't know but i know to have to do what i did and i've never had to do that not like that to people that meant like that much to me nah i didn't that one hurt it hurt it hurt it's like having to kill somebody you love
Starting point is 01:53:57 let me ask it's like seeing somebody you love knowing that they're making a decision that could go uh and you're trying to stop you trying to stop it eventually I gotta get the fuck away from the blast so you saying that they you feel they intentionally went out their way to hurt you no I'm saying I don't think they intentionally tried to do it that was just the result you feel that they feel you was hurting them mmm good question hurt I don't know. Clearly something was happening. Something was happening.
Starting point is 01:54:30 They clearly thought I was lying to them, stealing from them, maybe hurting their pockets, skimming the books, not having their best interest. Some of the things that this podcast was rooted in, those things stopped. Could be conceived as hurt. Like my man's rooted in those things stop could be conceived as
Starting point is 01:54:45 hurt like my man's or the result okay i don't know the inner workings right but let's just i'm just again i'm playing devil's advocate i'm shooting them some bail uh if they felt as though you were being deceitful somebody that loves me is being deceitful that that's hurtful yeah that's how do you communicate that how do you communicate that and how do you resolve that because that's where that's where yeah that's where we're wrong that's where it went wrong communication because to me that's like that's like when your girl thinks you've been cheating. I want to go in the phone. And you saying, well,
Starting point is 01:55:27 I didn't cheat and I don't want you to go on the phone. But if you go on my phone, nothing's the same. This will never be the same. Can't go back. See, and that was the impasse. I want to prove to you brothers that I'm not lying to you and that I'm not
Starting point is 01:55:44 skimming or whatever you're stealing, whatever you think I'm doing. But in order for me to do it, there's no turning back. And I'm never looking at you the same again after I do it. And I'm not going to pay for you pay for the audit. God damn it. But that's what a cross between a business and that comes. And that's where I have trouble at that intersection. And I have trouble with what I have to do at that intersection. And I don't know what to do.
Starting point is 01:56:13 And all the people that I admire and look up to and that have had to go through stuff like this, they hitting my phone and shit to say, nah, you did the right thing. Like, sorry, but that's normal joe and i'm like yeah but did it feel like this and this type of business is unique too but but think about it right it's like a relationship okay it may not suit you and you may have to part ways but you still won't have the feeling but that's why this is unique because they're tied in. Yeah. Right? Like, again, if you're a CEO at AT&T. Right. You don't got to work with them close every day.
Starting point is 01:56:50 Right? They're not your friends neither. And the whole world doesn't get to see it. You can make a business decision and it not impact your personal life. If it's your girlfriend, you can make a personal decision. It doesn't impact your business life. This podcast was built on the chemistry that the three of y'all had. You can't have the same success in the podcast because now y'all don't have that chemistry.
Starting point is 01:57:15 Based on something that happened personally is now affecting the business. Because the business is the pod. The personal friendships and the laughy, key kiki ha ha ha that people can see it resonated out to the world yeah but it can't be the same with the business turmoil see but before you even got there let me just get this out and you can ask away that weighed on me for a year before this blow up where i'm saying or maybe nine months where i'm saying damn the tuesdays and fridays don't feel the same for me coming into work. I'm coming in just on defense, on guard.
Starting point is 01:57:50 But did you express that? Can't finish my thoughts. Did you ever express that? Can't get my shit out. I thought I did. I thought I did. But in that, right? Still successful.
Starting point is 01:58:00 In that, what happens is it was still successful. Still successful. Hey, in that that the fans still loved every second of it my friends call me every side of the answer J.B.P. Boyd look at them
Starting point is 01:58:10 and laugh at the jokes ha ha ha even with all this messy shit that's been happening those episodes did numbers it's hard to like it's fucked up yeah but I was going home
Starting point is 01:58:18 feeling like shit yeah exactly I was going home pouring my heart out to fucking Corey I was going home saying and heart out to fucking cory i was going home saying and i said it on episode here yo if a creative's happiness is altered he's gonna stop he's gonna leave like i was trying to throw all types of little hail mary boomerang something's in here but didn't quite acceptance is hard sometimes you know when i
Starting point is 01:58:48 have to accept that we've come to this end you know and but i think right because i challenge you in working on your acceptance but also creating a vision for your future because i think when you don't have that focus on what is to come it forces you to focus more on the past right so and and i think i know what's coming baby i know trust the process right like allow yourself to feel what you are feeling okay because you're human embrace it yeah right so when you lost something nobody if you cared about it right which that's what i got that you guys cared about each other that's why you went to the point of let's go to therapy but when you care about something okay it's not that easy to just say bye see you later right so there is a significant loss so there's grief there all right so allow yourself to gr, but don't sit in that grief forever.
Starting point is 01:59:45 Right. Because if you made that decision, you have to ground yourself. I made that decision, right. Weigh on the benefits of why you made that decision and focus now on what what's to come. Joe, I got one question for you. Prior to making that decision or day of making that decision, making that decision or day of making that decision whatever do you feel i'm only talking about you that you you personally have done everything possible to to keep the ship together like do you feel you've exhausted all other like i have no choice but to now do this i have exhausted everything within my power anything else
Starting point is 02:00:30 I'm probably powerless over I'd say 85% I think I would say I've tried 85% of all things there are to try but can I tell you a common thing right of working with you if trust is broken right it's not that
Starting point is 02:00:48 easy to repair right and we can't just give like two or three weeks for somebody to get over not trusting a situation and the question I was going to ask is what do you think right made them feel like you were lying or being deceitful to them in the first place. That's the question that if I that's the question that I would want them to answer. I don't know. I know. That's why I kind of wish that it was all three of you that I met with instead of just me and Rory. Yeah. Well, the other one wouldn't pop up at all. I still haven't spoken to him alone. well the other one wouldn't pop up at all I still haven't spoken to him alone well that also
Starting point is 02:01:26 right because here's the other thing if it takes two y'all both have to be equally vested in this does the reason that they thought that matter maybe it was just maybe it was just like three people cut me off
Starting point is 02:01:42 maybe it was just the eye test maybe it was the eye test maybe i'm seeing something and it looked like a lot is going on maybe it was my miscommunication miscommunication of wait all right we lost a deal but i'm seeing raises i'm hearing raises i'm hearing i'm hearing i'm hearing shit i'm hearing too much you come in here we talk for three hours twice a week i I'm hearing things. Maybe it was. And you know what? I will own this. I'm coming in here and I'm call myself giving it up freely to creators and curators out there. But everybody don't know how to apply some of this stuff. Right. So I'm coming in here and I'm giving it up. I'm giving it. I'm talking about how I'm sticking.
Starting point is 02:02:24 I stuck this company up. I did this over here. And if they are feeling like I'm company in here and I'm giving it up. I'm giving it up. I'm talking about how I'm sticking. I stuck this company up. I did this over here. And if they are feeling like I'm company, man, maybe you do try some of that shit on him. Maybe if they've been got rid of the friendship aspect of it, then I could understand why they did this. Well, I agree. I agree that there should have been more focus on a business, but I'm still rely on the CEO. Right. To dictate dictate to execute that and ensure that it's happening right and that was what I said I said y'all don't have meetings
Starting point is 02:02:51 how y'all don't have meetings you have to have meetings that's how you get the opportunity to talk about things whatever's your problem the concern and you seek resolutions as a team and I think that's where a lot of the separation came in is that you made all the decisions we didn't make any decisions and I think that's the perception that they got so when that happens it's like well you make any decision you want creatively the same way I do in every other podcast right deal that I have with people, I want nothing to do with what happens on your shit creatively. But when it comes to the business side, anything that I'm investing a dime in, I'm going to have final say.
Starting point is 02:03:35 That's not just here. That's all of my contracts. Hey, sometimes it's, listen, when Slaughterhouse, they came up with the voting system, everyday struggle. They came up with the voting system. What happened was Joe's the only one ever with a problem. So I was always outvoted. It was two people over here was three people over here in this room. When I'm when I'm investing and it's two podcast hosts and it's me. No, I have the final say. So, I I mean what happens if someone's not okay with that so because that's where the business and friendship thing went a little yes but here's the here's the
Starting point is 02:04:16 the business side of that right just because the person is the CEO is not going to make the other players not feel as important right right? Like even though we know you made this decision at the end, those players and their, you know, input is very necessary, right? To feeling a part of, right? And I think you might've given the perception, right? And being that, that that was fact, you were the one who handled the finances. So you are the one that has the final say. However,'t make people buy into it right it doesn't keep people motivated i thought the success would do that i thought the success would do that nonetheless if cory keep telling me yo if i know you know you're not a walker you're not a power walker you're not a
Starting point is 02:05:00 jogger but if you just walk straight for the next three years this was gonna happen and that happened exactly all the way on my walk oh shit he said i would pass this gas station you know when somebody give you directions oh shit he said this building was right here you get confidence on the way that's what i thought would be happening but that might be false confidence, right? And this is what I was saying about, you know, paying people regular when the business is failing. That gives a false perception
Starting point is 02:05:33 that things are good, right? So, right? When that's not really what it is. She's doing a good job. See, I thought that that was me doing a great job. I'm trying to earn my paycheck here.
Starting point is 02:05:44 That's all I'm just trying to do. No, finish your point because I thought that that was me doing a great job I'm trying to earn my paycheck here that's all I'm just trying to do no finish your point because I thought that that would be damn somebody's killing that shit but now I see but this is your lesson
Starting point is 02:05:52 learned right that it takes more than just the success right of a business to make it prosper right
Starting point is 02:05:59 and work because you now you're dealing with people you're not dealing with just the dollars these are real people with feelings thoughts you dealing with just the dollars. These are real people with feelings, thoughts.
Starting point is 02:06:08 You can't just eliminate that. Yeah, but they got the dollars. Because they're successful just because they got the dollars. You got the dollars. You're going to get the fuck out of my face. what they feeling? Then what happened?
Starting point is 02:06:15 And now I know to spend the dollars on therapy. Hey, I'm spending my dollars on therapy. What the fuck are you buying? You're an asshole. Well, see, those are those meetings to say right because every job has
Starting point is 02:06:27 an eap which is an employee assistance program right so when your employees are destroyed or have some type of mental emotional issues no they have a resource that they can go to right and as a ceo if you've got some people on your team that may be struggling mentally emotionally your role is to say hey let me extend this help to you. Not just, oh, we're going to talk about it and that's it. See, the other problem it sounds like is because the friendship was so much there. Like you said, meetings and stuff. You know, you're thinking we all friends.
Starting point is 02:06:57 Right. Just kick it. If you've got a problem, hit me. We need formality. You need formality. There's no formality. Absolutely. They couldn't separate
Starting point is 02:07:05 they could not separate that's what it was I've been advocating that's what it sounds like regular meetings and scheduled time off quarterly
Starting point is 02:07:13 or something like that I think you need sincerity too yeah because again even in the meetings if if
Starting point is 02:07:20 motherfuckers not gonna keep it real the meetings are useless oh sure sure you get what I'm saying we can meet till we blow in the face. No, no, no. I'm going to disagree with that.
Starting point is 02:07:28 Let me tell you why. Because people tell on themselves, right? Just like he said he saw them coming here and they had a feeling and they looked like something was bothering them. You can hold on to that buff for so long. That's not true. Everything in the dark going to come to the light. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:07:43 When it implodes. And that's what happened when it exploded but look now it's too late it may not be if you feel if you start seeing say we did
Starting point is 02:07:52 say we did say we did a monthly or bi-weekly meeting you would start seeing some tells yes we had a conversation you'll see trends you'll see themes
Starting point is 02:08:00 yeah right either of dissatisfaction people not showing up on time people not showing something right and then if you're not held accountable because that's what y'all started off with you're not holding your people accountable they're gonna feel like they can just do whatever they feel like absolutely
Starting point is 02:08:14 and i think that's that was the whole map of what was happening here it was just it was whatever and when you that ceo of your company it not whatever and you do not want your employees to just be like whatever and again because he wasn't looking at people as employees looking at them as friends I don't even think I think because of the success
Starting point is 02:08:32 you guys are talking over each other the success I think it was the success that just let you be like eh we still winning right
Starting point is 02:08:39 but it's success with your friends it's much it might be a combination of both I was just about to say like again it's much easier we all boys we all making money whatever okay cool we good nah i i agree like again back to
Starting point is 02:08:55 the sports analogy if if we're still winning but the team isn't practicing hard nobody says a thing until we start losing. When we start losing, now, yo, you're not busting your ass in practice like you used to do
Starting point is 02:09:10 when we was 0-14. You get what I'm saying? We winning, everything is lax. We in chill mode. We in chill mode and mad shit is starting to, your car turning into a hoopty.
Starting point is 02:09:21 You know what I mean? Like, that's what I see. But again, you're using a sports analogy. When it's all friends involved, it's a little bit different. Like now,
Starting point is 02:09:34 I'm not going to come to you, yo, this is fucking up. We're so cool. Until we start losing. When we start losing, I'm going to come to you. Yo, you're bullshitting. You would have never dropped that pass.
Starting point is 02:09:44 You could have run that route. You bullshit because you're not practicing as hard. And then, Doc, this, you know, I watch a lot of murder mysteries. A lot. That's nuts. Where you going with this one? Do you know that? I watch a lot of murder mysteries.
Starting point is 02:10:04 Like, I really don't even watch something unless somebody dies. Okay. You have some fascination, some dark fascination. Well, I like to see people try to figure things out. That's all it is. Okay. It's a brain exercise. I really enjoy someone losing life in the first three minutes of a show.
Starting point is 02:10:29 And in the next 57 minutes or 41 minutes is spent trying to figure that out. So I'm like trained to try to figure things out, even when people are not dying in the flick. So what happened was this has been going on for like two years. And I've been like, just, it's been like a case study. And I just been observing and watching and when this last five weeks of something occurring i went back to just watch all of the game tape and it was just right there it was just right there smacking me in the face some of the uh some of the lack of friendship uh some of the lack of formality uh and then when i was confused like god always does he showed me clips of each of them saying as right as i'm sitting in my head saying
Starting point is 02:11:13 well damn why they don't care as much as me and why the passion why they not as passionate about me and why this and why that and why that i'm seeing clips from both saying i just don't really care about podcasting and then that like was like a stab. They didn't mean to do it. They didn't even know they was doing it, but it was a stab. My every fucking day revolves around making sure pod shit is good and it's killing me.
Starting point is 02:11:38 And their defense, by the way, they would usually follow that up with outside of this podcast. So maybe they're not passionate about the art in general, but they were passionate, at least from their words, about this podcast. And he might have interpreted it as... Because that's not what that means.
Starting point is 02:11:53 Because that's not what that means. It's not, yo, I hate rap, but I like this one rap song. It's not that. It happens. Yeah, and usually that person that likes the one rap song is probably not going to be a reoccurring customer. So, yeah, you like one rap song, but why are you there? You there?
Starting point is 02:12:15 You're going to spend your three dollars on a single. You're going to get it and you're going to go. So if they tell me, I don't give a fuck about no podcast and nowhere but here. Right. don't give a fuck about no podcast and nowhere but here right and i look at some of the behind the scenes turmoil that's been happening with the accusatory and maybe you stealing maybe you skimming and maybe you are doing something i'm registering that as oh it's not that you love podcasting at all you just want to reap differently from something you invested so much time in and that's natural that's natural so
Starting point is 02:12:45 there's nothing wrong there but what if that's not where it is what if that's not where the creation stand at the moment and i guess that goes back to your earlier point of of not paying unrealistic pictures for people see i thought i was being superman holding the house up everywhere but i guess no let the leak show yeah yeah yeah yes but what i was gonna say too right is did you ever ask them you know were they happy with being here and doing this i think every episode at the beginning when the first no no no i know because that's a that's a... That's a formality. Yo, what's up?
Starting point is 02:13:26 You good? Somebody could have just got their ass whipped at home by their husband. Corey, get up and walk over there if you got something important to say. God damn it. No, look. Somebody, a woman could got her ass
Starting point is 02:13:35 whipped by her husband at home. Right? And she comes to work and be like, girl, how was your weekend? Oh, girl, I was good. That's just passe. That's just conversation. Surface.
Starting point is 02:13:46 But, yo. Maybe I never did. Let me call my man on the phone again yo let's go get a drink let's go get a hookah yo you good you cool great point you're absolutely fucking right no i didn't because they may not say it because the behavior is definitely gonna show show. Yeah, but it's going to show when. See, let's pretend this goes differently. Let's pretend the Spotify deal is so amazing that the re-up happens. And now there's a however many million dollar bag for everybody. Then even if you don't want to pod, if're them you're potting you're potting you're potting still absolutely and then i'm never gonna even think to say hey is this something that you
Starting point is 02:14:34 still want to do absolutely but because that didn't happen and i was like okay wait it's time to hold the house up hey i did it i said no so i'm gonna hold i'm gonna hold the house up and that's what happened i was holding the house up looking for the effort from people that might have been put off by whatever happened the spotify deal or me saying what it is and that's where the resentment is coming from absolutely i'm holding the house up saying why aren't you doing anything and they're saying i'm not doing shit fuck that we don't i don't want to podcast or what they were saying was what they were doing was contributing well what they were saying i'm not doing shit fuck that we don't i don't want to podcast or what they were saying was what they were doing was contributing well what they were saying what the action said
Starting point is 02:15:10 was no we got a clear answer now i'm not doing anything and you're not getting any effort because i don't like the situation i'm just angry that that couldn't be just said like that because then I would have said well how do you want to change it help me out right and then I would have listened because I love you and hopefully we find a happy medium because we love each other but if that comes out and hurt and I'm hitting you I'm hitting you every time I'm hitting you then I'm gonna move and every time I'm hitting you, then I'm going to move, and if you're not hitting me, if you're hitting somebody else, if you're hitting somebody else, like, I have to move my people, it don't mean I don't love you, because I still love you, brothers, but if y'all don't get what I'm doing, if y'all don't see the play as it's playing out, I can no longer stop and explain it,
Starting point is 02:16:00 remember I used to say that to you in some of them sessions, yo, I keep feeling like I have to stop and explain every little thing, and I'm losing time, I'm losing traction, and I'm not, I'm to say that to you in some of them sessions? Yo, I keep feeling like I have to stop and explain every little thing and I'm losing time and I'm losing traction and I'm not, I can't be my best me with, that was a thing. And we right back. Because you were holding up the house
Starting point is 02:16:13 and I was saying, that's exhausting. Right? At my age today, dog, and that's my revelation, I don't want to hold up the house. You shouldn't have to. It takes a village.
Starting point is 02:16:26 That's part of your team. And this is what I was saying to you, Joe. If the team is not working, it is you, who is the boss, that makes these moves. And I think what made it difficult was that there was friendships there. And when we have a friendship, we have these other expectations of how we should, supposed to move. Right?
Starting point is 02:16:49 And it doesn't always happen that way. And that's ended up how it happened. I think also, like I've been self-employed for, man. Can you, can you at least sound awake? Can you at least sound like it's 5 p.m.?
Starting point is 02:17:02 I don't know. I don't know. I ain't been an employee. I have no doubt. That might be his sexy voice. You know, like... Anyway, I'm not trying to be... Hey, you trying to get free sessions?
Starting point is 02:17:17 Hey! Anyway, nah, I've been self-employed for 15 years. And what you're saying that really that requires joe to relinquish some control and sometimes people would rather hold up the house and say y'all need your help holding up the house come over here i'm gonna give you some control you you take that left corner and hold it up and that's your responsibility and then you take this and hold it up and now it lessens the burden on me but now i was giving out control and i'm not saying that this is you and you know i don't pander i'm just giving an example
Starting point is 02:17:50 that you might not have been ready to relinquish that control over some shit that you built from the ground up some motherfuckers don't want to do that yeah but there's different types of control there's creative control there's you know what i'm saying i'm just saying like you're holding up the house and you feel it's your burden to bear to hold it up like you just said yo i didn't take the spotify deal so i feel like i owe some people something so i'm trying to adjust right no i didn't feel like i owed anybody anything i just thought it was the stand what i'm saying i thought it was a stand-up thing to do all right so okay cool therapist is telling me that was dead ass the wrong thing to do. Well, no. I was saying it wouldn't be wrong if you were feeling good about it, right? If I'm doing something for you, I'm not expecting anything too much in return because I did that from my heart.
Starting point is 02:18:36 That's what I keep trying to say and it keeps coming out where I keep telling you things I don't owe y'all shit. I know. You got to say things nicer, Joe. Jesus. You can't tell somebody, yo, I did this and I don't owe you'all shit. I know. You got to say things nicer, Joe. Please, us. You can't tell somebody, yo, I did this. I don't owe you shit. No, no, because I feel, no, me saying I don't owe y'all shit. I never asked y'all to do this.
Starting point is 02:18:52 I didn't ask for you to do this. I didn't ask for you to do this. I didn't ask for you to do this. What I'm trying to say is what she just said. What did you just say again? I know what she just said. I'm trying to say, yo, I don't owe you shit. So whatever I'm doing or whatever I have done or whatever I continue to do is because it's coming from the kindness of my heart.
Starting point is 02:19:13 And the same for you. All of the beautiful things that you did during our friendship, they're coming from your heart. I'm assuming you feel good about it. I'm assuming you assume I feel good about it. The second that either one of us later on in the relationship says, well, I did that. And then I did that. I feel like you're only saying it because you feel like I maybe am in debt to you or owe you something for you doing that. If you did it from the kindness of your heart, what the fuck are you telling me? I i don't care do what comes from your heart i'ma do what comes from my heart i just don't say it the kindest way but that's how i feel right but i think you had that expectation that they would see it that way that you were doing this from your heart and this is where the lines are blurred between business
Starting point is 02:20:02 and personal before let me cut you off. Yes. I come in here and I do a very loose, casual, state-of-the-room business address three times a year. Three times a year at the end of every pod, I'll say, hey, this is what we need to focus on. This is what's happening in the meetings. This is what the need to focus on. This is what's happening in the meetings. This is what the numbers are dictating. This is where we are. And a lot of times I got pushback. A lot of time that was met with resistance.
Starting point is 02:20:45 And as a creator, when an amazing idea is met with resistance, what we do is we don't try to come up with another idea we try to circumvent whatever the resistance is and because it might be a really great idea that this one person that don't get it just don't get but during those meetings is it was such an obvious play that i never nobody ever told me it needed to be explained further and i never assumed it needed to be explained further and I never assumed it needed to be explained further like if you trust me I know some things that's coming and I can never say right like and and no need to say but sometimes you have plans for the future that you can't say for whatever the reason is so it may look like we down it may look like that's why i love when my when my frenemies and my enemies when it appears that we down and they just start sending dots start sending shots and i'm like oh y'all falling for the y'all falling for that shit is all the way up
Starting point is 02:21:37 but if somebody don't feel that i can't make them feel it i felt like the second year of our spotify deal i was losing the locker room but not because the friendship was jeopardized, but because, all right, you see, we're not getting the greatest negotiation. We might not be here. I know you put a lot of time in. This is our fifth year. Going to have to find another way. See, that don't deter me. me that's why i can come and walk in any negotiation uh negotiation and put my dick on the table you telling me no or it's not working out or it falls through that don't deter me the plan is the plan like we gonna get there but i can't make somebody else have faith in that and i don't know if i'm able to today either i think that speaks to the lack of experience in this field or related fields to some degree i don't think that they've ever you know you always criticize them i can't wait till the day you put out an album yeah and it was a reason i was saying that right because it's so
Starting point is 02:22:35 tough to sell one thing to somebody right one thing i mean we get on we get on here and and if you haven't had that experience then you could just find yourself talking shit oh man this guy only sold 45,000 records oh man this guy only sold 50,000 records and it's like dog do you know how difficult it is to sell one of anything I would say things like that I would say things like
Starting point is 02:22:58 yo I can't wait till you have kids you used to say that to me all the time I thought about that the other day. It would be certain, my stances and my positions on certain things, and you would always be like, God, I can't wait till you have kids. Because that's what it means when you say it to certain responses.
Starting point is 02:23:16 You'll see it then. Because then it's time to get out of your own thinking. That's when you're not looking at it from only your lens when you got kids you view things a different way so i mean i was saying shit like that when to quote savon and alex from their podcast when you've gotten it out of the mud you view it a little differently when you've tried to get it out the mud you know when you get it from out the mud you look at it a whole lot different. Or if you've tried. Like, you failed.
Starting point is 02:23:47 That part is the part, Ish. That part is the part. When you try and you fail. The failures make the success. If you try on your first go, you don't get the lessons. Right. But to the people that have not experienced. When you bust your ass 17 times.
Starting point is 02:23:59 But to the people that haven't experienced that, Ish. They don't have any lessons. And they don't know that the failures equate to something and that was part of my strong resentment with maul like i can see that there's some resentment here from the past from when neither one of us were probably our greatest selves you can't keep talking to me like that today today things are a little different like you can't you can't hold me to that i forgot what we were just saying but it was applied what were we talking about we're talking about getting out the month oh yeah getting out the month yo so if you've never done that then you might just look
Starting point is 02:24:34 at the failures like failures i'm sitting here looking at it like yo every single time that i got fucked i needed to get fucked for the today. Right. The lawyers fucking me. The labels fucking me. The TV fucking me. Fucking digital fucking me. The streamers fucking me. All of the times I got fucked lead me to here knowing how to not get fucked. Today, when you put the contract in front of me, I'm going to refute some things. When I got the Spotify contract, the thing that at the end of it all,
Starting point is 02:25:06 I was going to sign it. Marlon Roy was signed. I was signed. A-Buy was signed. The money was good. Deal points agreed to. And all the way at the end, the shit was like, yeah, but we can fire you for whatever the fuck we want to fire you.
Starting point is 02:25:20 We can fire you at any, if you do something that has the company looking crazy, we can fire you. And it made sense. I said, well, I seen that one before, buddy. I said, no, no, no, no, no, no. I seen that one. I never plotted that one. So I said, wait.
Starting point is 02:25:35 Well, the lawyer, not me. The lawyer said, well, what are these fireable offenses? They need to be distinguishable. You mean if he gets arrested, the charge is this, company's looking crazy, but not just because the company says X, Y, Z, and now blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You said bitch. You said bitch on the air, so I'm going to fire you. And that's what they do to black people. That's why the shock jock for blacks and shock jock for whites is different.
Starting point is 02:26:01 Black shock jocks, you don't have that rope. They got all types of language and clauses in your contract now back to familiarity with clauses had i not seen that one before or had a lawyer that saw it before i maybe would have agreed or he would have said what are the fireable offenses and we would have put them on paper and that would have been the end but because i had some representation that was familiar and because i might have been familiar, we was like, well, no, if you fire him, arrested or no arrest, you got to pay him X amount of dollars. And it was a lot of money. It was so much money toward the end of the contract.
Starting point is 02:26:35 I wanted to get fired. Please. Y'all didn't see it? Yeah. It was like 13 episodes left. I think he made mention of it. There was like 13 episodes left. I was trying my best for them to fire us, but they wouldn't. At that juncture, we would have made more money if they fired us.
Starting point is 02:26:54 But that's what I mean. Like if there was something in this contract that because they were inexperienced with, and that's not a knock. That's what contracts are for. If you're with a friend or someone that used to be a friend, there's no better time than to bring it up now.
Starting point is 02:27:11 Like normally, we got to deal with a company where they don't really give a fuck about us. But you're kicking it with your friend, there's nothing here to get angry about to the point of all of this hurt and resentment and wanting to sabotage things. And that's why I called you. yeah i did the right thing and yeah well i didn't handle it the best
Starting point is 02:27:31 the decision that was made was the correct one but i still don't really know what to do with the betrayal aspect of it on both sides i feel betrayed i am certain that they feel betrayed and with that comes a lot of shit and I don't know even as the business is fine even though I stand firm in my decision because I thought about it long nights and days that betrayal that's the part that hurts because like you say you I never saw this this is God reminding me that he is in charge and whatever I see don't mean that that's what's about to be right well I think along with learning the lessons you also have to narrate the story a little differently to yourself right because if you say it's betrayal that's exactly what it's going to be that's exactly how it's going to feel words have power right absolutely so i think saying it a little different right that one it might have been
Starting point is 02:28:32 of them not knowing miscommunication when they just don't know just like knowledge yeah like and that is powerful right and i don't think that they realized how powerful if they would have been informed or kept themselves informed how that could have made them feel you know more invested in this but you can't keep narrating the story as betrayal right
Starting point is 02:28:57 you do have to now see that I have to. Is that a story or a feeling? So how we say it to ourselves is going to dictate how it's going to make you feel. Right? So when you're angry about something, that person did this to me. Now I feel like this.
Starting point is 02:29:14 Okay? So if I say it a little different, okay, they didn't mean it. Their intention wasn't to hurt me or to make me feel angry. Well, that's what, before you got in here, I was saying now,'d 100 percent owe rory if not both of them an apology because i've expressed myself when hurt was present i was expressing myself when that betrayal was prevalent in me and that ain't how i want to represent
Starting point is 02:29:40 myself especially the people that i love once loved got history with got a foundation with i don't see that's the difference between probably me and them i don't care what happens with the business side of things like we can we can get the friendship together later a year from now two years from now but if that's cool then cool this this is numbers and corporate and money and people's lives and well livelihoods and well-being. That's cool. But I didn't feel good about how I communicated when that when that betrayal was present. That's it. Absolutely.
Starting point is 02:30:14 So I am going to make that my business. Just so you know. To work on, right? No, to apologize. Okay. I think that's commendable, right? Joe, this is just, of course, me and Ish don't know all the sides of everything, but
Starting point is 02:30:28 I keep hearing the word betrayal. I keep hearing the word betrayal. You do keep hearing that word? I'm asking. Yes. From you. You've been saying betrayal. Oh, I've said that a lot. Today. Right now. Right now. What I'm saying is, is it possible
Starting point is 02:30:43 that they might feel some form of Is it possible that they might feel some form of betrayal but I'm saying they could feel you I said on both parts I said betrayal on my side and I'm sure there's someone on their side too I said that but I
Starting point is 02:31:00 have a question for you Joe how will you move forward with people who are not as informed as you are? I don't want to talk to those people. Well, I think that's a good standard, but how will you determine that? By talking to them. Well, again, you should have been letting Ian have the discussions about this. Or someone. Let's not say Ian. Okay, whatever yeah okay whatever someone it should be in but they don't trust in maybe it should have been somebody well that's that sounds like a whole issue too like there's
Starting point is 02:31:32 what relationship can thrive without trust on any front that's the thing that's the problem so you cannot trust me in some areas i'm not mad at that right i ain't mad at that i have friends where i know i used used to trust you on Monopoly. I don't trust you with rugs. At all. I have had friends where we have been out and I know if a scuffle
Starting point is 02:31:59 breaks out, I don't think that friend is helping. Now, some men have an issue with that. Not me. It's important to know which one of your friends is for whatever situations. Me and Corey joke around all the time. My driver that I employ, he's the best driver
Starting point is 02:32:16 in the world, unless someone's shooting at me. If someone is shooting at me, I'm probably going to lose my life because my driver doesn't move with urgency. And Corey's with me every day saying, yo, man, I pray you never get into a bad spot
Starting point is 02:32:36 because your driver, man, if a shootout, if niggas ever got the drop on you, and it takes me to say that. Wait, Corey's got some trouble too. Did you need to put that in your contract though you know maybe shot at so you might have to but this is when i have to say to cory dog fam i'm not living my life in a manner that i think is conducive we're getting shot at yeah it still might happen i'm from the street i know i know that but i'm not living my life that way. So I appreciate the driver that does the speed limit,
Starting point is 02:33:08 that moves a little slow. Nah, but when you're outside the strip club, when you're outside the strip club and jokers know you in there and they get to drop, so got to be right there. You think I've never played that out, fam? If they got to drop on me in the strip club, I'm going to have a long night to the road. I'm going to have a long night to the to the road i'm gonna have a long night getting out so i was gonna have to just make the call that said yo something they got him they got him i was outside i was right at the door with the car i couldn't
Starting point is 02:33:37 drive it in i forgot the point i was making Well, I was asking about how you would, you know, approach someone who may not be as knowledgeable. You know, about... I don't know, though. But, I mean, that's good for you to think about. You need a buffer. Right? I need to hire a general manager or somebody. That helps you hash out some of that stuff.
Starting point is 02:34:01 Because I agree, you know, when it it's about business you don't have too much time for the personal you don't right because you got to focus on that business so you know I think you know having someone who you trust right um that can help oversee and manage and and filter anything to you that may be of concern but the other point i wanted to make too about trust right when people say oh i don't trust it's not necessarily i don't trust you is i don't trust myself if you were to betray me that makes sense yeah right i know it's okay i could okay're flirting so when someone betrays right when somebody betrays you right you know it's a devastation I'm hurt right um and I may not know how to maneuver now because you betrayed me or hurt me and this is why I say it's very crucial to learn these lessons so that
Starting point is 02:34:59 you know how to manage yourself moving forward one you, I'm not going to talk to those people. That's a standard now that he's going to set. I need whoever I'm going to be working with to have some level of education when it comes to this business. Oh, yeah. Yes. You know. Or good representation. Well, no. Not at all.
Starting point is 02:35:19 Hey, these two niggas don't even know to talk in a microphone. But it's fine. But you're right. I'm trying to say this. We're getting there, though. Have a meeting to discuss that, okay? This is the mic. Everything I think, I agree with her, right?
Starting point is 02:35:33 No, I've noticed for the last hour and change. But go ahead. Now get your ear off. I'm listening. Nah, this business is really, really, really unique. It is. And more unique than others because to get what you guys had, you have to damn near befriend the people. If you had two jokers up here that didn't know you, this shit would be a dud.
Starting point is 02:35:55 Yeah, this doesn't work the same way. It's a dud. Everyday Struggle wasn't a dud. You didn't know that. Yeah. There's been instances where it has not been a dud. Look, Everyday Struggle wasn't this one, in my opinion. yeah there's been there's been instances where it has not been a dud yeah look everyday struggle wasn't this
Starting point is 02:36:06 one in my opinion and then number two over a period of time he built up a camaraderie with at yeah
Starting point is 02:36:14 they bounced off of one another right they did what they did so everyday struggle in the beginning was a smash day one based on based beginning was a smash day one based on
Starting point is 02:36:26 based it was a snap based on the chemistry the numbers the content the reaction impact it was a smash from day one because you got up there and started being an asshole no no let me help you i see the point that you're trying to make that's what happened but there are there's a select group of people that really do this. Yeah. They really do this. And when I sit down with that person, because I really do this, we're going to always be magic. That could be Ack. That could be Charlemagne. That could be anybody I've sat down with that really does this.
Starting point is 02:36:59 We don't have to prep. Right. We don't have to talk. It's natural. That's natural. we can get it done so act was one of those people so your point stands but not out it's five percent that it don't stand with you can sit with me and wendy williams gonna go not talk for years and sit down and it'd be some magic every day y'all can sustain that every day uh i don't know i don't know an interview is different than coming
Starting point is 02:37:26 up here with somebody on a because you're pulling from your life to entertain the people so if you didn't have a 15 year friendship with mall the stuff that you're pulling from is non-existent right so when you get those dead spaces when we don't really have no current events going on and you need to pull from the person that you know. But if you're sitting there with the person that does this, y'all pulling from the same sandbox. You don't have to necessarily pull from each other. If y'all have commonality.
Starting point is 02:37:53 No, we don't. We don't have to have commonality at all. I don't think that's sustainable. Me personally, I don't know. This is not my area either. I don't think that's sustainable. You can go for three episodes. Maybe you can go for four. Let me tell you
Starting point is 02:38:10 that there are people out there working together professionally right now that don't like each other. That they are so great at their jobs, respectively. You wouldn't know. You can't fire me. No, you just wouldn't know.
Starting point is 02:38:25 They both in there cooking for three, four, five hours, and then that's it. Give me an example here. I won't name names. I'm not naming names. Give me an arena. In this arena? In media?
Starting point is 02:38:36 In media. Podcasting. Let's say Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith didn't get along. They might not. We don't know. I'll give you a good example. That's an easier transition than this. Because we're talking basketball.
Starting point is 02:38:48 We both have a commonality. We both know the game of basketball. We both play the game of basketball. We both are talking about games that are going on every single day. And this, sitting in this chair, and I've only been here for two months, this comes from somewhere else. I don't think you could sit here with a complete two complete strangers and get the results that you got with rory and more i don't think me personally i don't think so uh not to uh professionals not art not artistically not not creatively
Starting point is 02:39:18 and that's where the struggle and that but that's where the struggle comes from because you probably could because if there were two complete strangers sitting here, right? Joe's amazing at this. Then all of those. I'm going to get y'all finished. No, you're amazing at this, right? You're amazing at this. And you can pull, right, from people.
Starting point is 02:39:37 I can pull from strangers, dude. You could. No, you could. I've seen it. You can. You can. I'm saying I believe you. You can do it.
Starting point is 02:39:47 I don't know if it's sustainable. But this is what i'm saying to that got you um maybe not maybe it's not 50 but those issues that i was having with friends about the barriers and boundaries and respect may not exist with strangers so much so that it's able to to make the back end of things run exactly the way it is supposed to so that's why i said friendship and the business intersect maybe as a podcast in this business that you wouldn't have had if you was the ceo at&t i said that in the beginning like you wouldn't have ran into those issues because you're not friends with them. The controller, you're not his friend. It's his business. If you're not performing,
Starting point is 02:40:30 you got to go. You're not thinking about his personal situation. Maybe it's kids and shit, but if you're not performing, it's his business. Bottom line, it's effective. See, but that's more what I mean about everybody running around saying they want to be a boss, want to be an owner, want to be a boss, want to be an owner. It's not easy want to be an owner it's not easy when i said that i never envisioned a world where i would have to get rid of someone that i love that just didn't pop into my brain i maybe would have had a different
Starting point is 02:40:57 decision right if i thought about that listen when my dogs died brooklyn and harlem rest in peace y'all know i love y'all i'm never getting a dog again really i'm not dealing with the pain that comes with having dogs for 16 17 18 years and then the same year they both just disappear i'm not the owner that's going to get i'm not i'm not going to get another dog to substitute the dog i'm that's owner that's going to get... You want seven? I thought you wanted seven. I'm not going to get another dog to substitute the dog. That's not who I am. And that is just another way of avoiding reality of life. That's not substitution though. Right?
Starting point is 02:41:31 Because the reality of life is things do not last forever. Yeah. Okay? And you always have to put yourself in a place to evolve and be prepared to evolve. Yeah. Prepare to change. Right? So you're right.
Starting point is 02:41:42 It might not sustain for six years. But that's what he could do too and reinvent himself in the third year so two new dudes but that's like saying you'll never have another girlfriend because you went through hardy no there you go no it's not no it's not the same that's not the same that's not the same at all so you're not gonna get it's not similar at all it is after you broke up i agree i think it's similar now tell me the 17 year relationship you've had with any girl i I had a nine-year one. I'm asking parts of the question.
Starting point is 02:42:06 I haven't had a 17-year one. I had a nine-year one, though. I had a seven-year relationship with a girl. And when it was over, I was devastated. I had a three-year, four-year one. And when it was over, I was devastated. I'm in a seven-year one. I mean devastated.
Starting point is 02:42:17 Like, to a point where mentally and emotionally, I couldn't function. I was devastated that bad. It's not the same. It's not the same at all. A loss is a loss. Yes, it is. A loss is a loss. Yeah, but you don't,
Starting point is 02:42:29 you don't, yes, a loss is a loss, dog, but you don't have to walk, you don't have to walk right into losses that way. You don't have to walk, I don't have to go and, I don't have to rush
Starting point is 02:42:39 to go get another dog to substitute the loss that I just encountered when that too will be a loss. I think you'll get a dog eventually. But I think the acknowledgement, but I think the acknowledgement is that he- I like the freedom. Okay, that's a different conversation.
Starting point is 02:42:50 I don't have- Oh, you like the freedom? It's not. That's part of- You lost your dogs. You put in a bid for 16, 17, 18 years, and now you don't have the responsibility that comes with your dogs or children.
Starting point is 02:42:59 Right. So now you can vacay without the dog sitter. Now you don't. There's things you can do. So I put 20 years in 25 years into my life of pets maybe more if i'm counting raven all of raven's life yeah like i did that already they died i cried got the videos on my phone worst day ever yes i could go get more dogs but you you could see you could see the But you could see the end.
Starting point is 02:43:25 You could see the end. So I mean now, not to say, not to go back to your relationship example, but working with friends, I could see me being jaded from that now. I could see me considering some things that I didn't consider before. And I said that when you were outside, right?
Starting point is 02:43:39 I said, I think that long-term with Ice and I, you would treat the situation totally, maybe not totally different, but you would definitely do some different things than you did with Rory and Maul. I said that, right? When he was outside. Like, yo, you would I would naturally because I've learned, I would
Starting point is 02:43:57 like to think I've learned something from what just happened, but two we communicate differently. We do. You and I communicate different. You are my favorite fight friend I don't fight with no other friend the way that the way that I fight with him him and I are the most
Starting point is 02:44:11 opinionated argumentative mind exercise playing mind game guy like we'll fight it up they just fought for 30 minutes about Monopoly before no we did not
Starting point is 02:44:20 that was dumb but you would do the same thing but listen he likes mental stimulation. Him and I fight about everything. Him and I have fallen out for years upon years. And we made our way back to each other. And we communicate differently.
Starting point is 02:44:33 Ice and I have gone through a bunch of shit. We communicate differently. And I guess that's what's highlighted here. Rory and I were friends. And Maul and I were friends. But that friendship didn't have the communication infrastructure that it needed to have it was three people that maybe did not know how to communicate at all i agree to see that yeah i can see that yeah i can see how that's a
Starting point is 02:44:58 and i also can see you not having the motivation to do it either if they're not willing to meet you halfway. Oh yeah. That's true. The root of the fucking problem. And this is what I say. You're not going to make any movement unless everybody's on board. You can't be the only one moving
Starting point is 02:45:19 and then this person is stagnated. You're not going to get the progress out of it. But I think looking at that is another benefit. Right. To why you had to make the decision. And I think if you ride on all the benefits of you making the decision, it'll help lessen the pain from the betrayal. Right. Because it's not going to look as betrayal it'll shift to I'm making a decision as a CEO that's the decision I made right that's the decision that I made for weeks I tried to get I felt like there was so many solutions and
Starting point is 02:45:59 fixes that it would be bound to land on one like i get this together with them we good uh i get this together with them now that's two different pods that's good hey we all know each other we all cool maybe we do one big hybrid to get that didn't work like for me there were so many solutions it couldn't land on a on a bed and somehow God fucking popped in again. God popped right in again with, I'm not so fast, buddy, but you know what? Know what I love about that doc?
Starting point is 02:46:31 Anytime I've evolved in life, God forced me to, I wasn't ready to, I couldn't see it. I couldn't feel it. I was trying to do something else. And then he stripped some options away. Just like now. I didn't, I didn't really want want to pod without i don't want to pod without these guys let me go do another job i can go get some other shit but slow down buddy maybe you can do it alone
Starting point is 02:46:56 i might even said that to rory a few years ago when we was beefing i was like i think the evolution of the pod worries me by myself not me and some more like I have to grow to a place where I got this everybody moved dolo that's it so I don't know my point was that I was getting that but I think another point too right is yes that was for the business part but for the personal part right you know your growth in this is, you know, learning, you know, where it went to the left and really making amends with yourself, you know, of, okay, I did this because, you know. Because I want everybody to be rich. Right, which I think was a great intention. I got to make amends about that, right?
Starting point is 02:47:42 Absolutely. Right? Because... I hate her What's wrong? What did I say? I said something wrong? No Oh I said something all the way right
Starting point is 02:47:51 Right But you gotta make amends Absolutely And I think it was a commendable thing to do And I don't I don't say stop doing that Because that's who you are Because of this situation
Starting point is 02:48:01 Just now be mindful Right That everybody may not be able to play that position. Okay? And we got to be okay with people not fitting the role. You know, they may be better off doing something else. You know, and that's something that we... Did you just start playing the music?
Starting point is 02:48:22 Oh, that's the end of the broadcast? No, no, no, no, no, no. You're good, you're good. No, no, no. No, you cook it, you cook it, that's the end of the broadcast? No, no, no, no, no, no. You good, you good. That's it. No, no. That's the end of you talking. That's it. Delete.
Starting point is 02:48:31 No, no, no, no. No, Fisher Boyd, we're here. We got it low in the background. This is our sage. This is our sage. Oh, okay. But I was telling him to, you know, make amends, right, with himself, you you know and set some standards right be very clear on those standards for yourself because when you don't have that you're not feeling certain and sure
Starting point is 02:48:52 of how you're going to move forward this is why you're like i don't want to meet with no friends no more at all but that may not necessarily be true because you may can do it with friends you just have to approach it a little differently you know so that's real shit same same with dogs no absolutely but i'm gonna go to the dog thing right because i think that is the personal part you have to protect yourself if someone is no longer pouring into you right you have to be okay with i gotta go get my water somewhere else, you know? Because it's no longer here. And sometimes that's hard to do
Starting point is 02:49:28 because our expectation is, you were supposed to pour into this cup. I wanted you to pour into this cup and you didn't. That was me. I know, I know. And I thought that was a good thing though. I thought that was a great thing, right? But they may not have been ready for what you wanted to offer you know um and sometimes and and i i was wondering too were they
Starting point is 02:49:52 maybe fearful of the success because that's also a baseline for people sabotaging things is when they they don't see that they can be that successful. I've wondered that myself. Maybe not the success specifically, but just, do they even want to do this anymore? Yeah, because it was a sabotage. The sabotage. Correct. And especially if you know that I'm doing something that's triggering the boss or whatever, I'm not going to keep doing that unless I want to get fired.
Starting point is 02:50:20 Right. That's something that's been hard for me to kind of comprehend. Me too. Maybe they didn't want to do it anymore, man. right that's something that's been hard for me to kind of comprehend is maybe they just me too maybe they didn't want to do it anymore man like and didn't know
Starting point is 02:50:29 how to say it and didn't know how to say it or didn't even know maybe themselves that they didn't want to do it anymore yeah that's true
Starting point is 02:50:34 yeah that's true but that's a question for them because you know it's not easy to part ways like even when
Starting point is 02:50:40 it's the end of the relationship it's still awkward like I don't want to be with you but I'm still got these feelings. You know, I'm still unsure. Right.
Starting point is 02:50:48 You know, so you bounce back and forth on that. But ultimately, you have to say with yourself, what is going to be the best decision for me? Right. So that I can feel good. And that's what I commended about you. You were able to acknowledge, I was triggered. This is triggering me. Okay. Because most people can't take that that's triggering me. to acknowledge, I was triggered. This is triggering me. Okay?
Starting point is 02:51:05 Because most people can't take that that's triggering me. No, it was killing me. It was killing me. It was heavy. And they didn't, well, let me not say they didn't because they're not here. It didn't feel like they cared. Like, I could tell I wasn't being poured into anymore. Like, I'm getting killed.
Starting point is 02:51:17 I am getting killed online for it looking like I just treat my friends like shit. And I laugh at it because, because like you could feel friend energy like i wasn't feeling loved but are you also sure about what you did towards the friendship wait hold up before you get to that okay did i need to feel loved on as the boss absolutely you have to know people care see that's where i struggle i just think it's nobody's job to care about me because i know i run the shit yeah but part of you running it is them being vested and if they're not vested because they don't care you know that's your problem you know so yeah all right what question were you asking oh dang I forgot you forgot hey
Starting point is 02:51:59 it's fine I'm playing outstanding it was a heavy session it felt good it felt good to me I don't know how I guess you guys maybe are traumatized but I feel
Starting point is 02:52:13 I mean it's heavy for me still it's heavy for me still but this because I love those guys this felt good I understand why people do this now
Starting point is 02:52:20 I've never been to a therapist she helps me I can see why she helps me I need to see why. She helps me. I need to run my thinking. I need to run my thinking by her because it's off. It's off. But you know what?
Starting point is 02:52:33 You have all the tools. This is what I tell people. Even in therapy, you have all the tools. It's just sometimes when we're portrayed, violated, slighted in some way, it gets blurred. And this is the art of therapy talking it out so you can rationalize
Starting point is 02:52:49 so you can identify okay what could I have done differently how could I think differently about this situation so it's not sitting so heavy
Starting point is 02:52:58 and you know this is what I say too it's a process you also might have the tools but not know what tools needed for this job absolutely absolutely and and you definitely have to arm yourself with more tools to help you keep emotionally balanced especially when you're triggered right that that is easily triggered
Starting point is 02:53:17 easily triggered yes it wasn't an easy trigger i was home that. That's why nobody sees how I cry. Except for when you posted on the internet a couple times. Really, did I? You posted yourself crying? I never knew that. I think it was when Prince died in his defense. I cry a lot. Oh yeah, I definitely posted that. When Prince died?
Starting point is 02:53:39 When Prince died, me and my mom. We went to see Purple Rain. Aw, I guess. There was a day last year. We couldn't get there split. We went to see Purple Rain. Oh, God. There's a couple times where you cry on the internet. I cry a lot. Yeah, it's cool. I cry a lot. I think that's good that you cry.
Starting point is 02:53:52 I know. Do you other men cry? Yes. I need to know this. Do y'all cry? Look at this one right here. It's your cry. It's definitely your cry.
Starting point is 02:53:59 No, of course. Nobody got no cry. I haven't cried in a minute. Of course I cry. In a minute, you just cried in the court, you know? Get it. That's fucked up.
Starting point is 02:54:09 He walked out with his head high up. Not no crying at all. But I think crying is healthy. You know, that's a form of release. You know? And that you're in touch with your feelings. You know what else I learned through this though, Doc? What?
Starting point is 02:54:24 And you can try to refute it. Actually, don't. I'm not. I'll try. Because people don't see how I cry. And how I feel. And how I hurt. And because I'm brash.
Starting point is 02:54:38 Don't do that scream, man. And because I'm brash and loud and could come off away. I think people just assume I don't feel anything. Possibly. That's the image you give off. That's right. Because that's the tough exterior.
Starting point is 02:54:51 I don't feel for fucking you. I just don't feel as much as you loser feeling ass niggas out there. But... You wonder why they feel that way. You felt it when your dog died. This is why you feel these feelings by yelling.
Starting point is 02:55:03 You fucking losers. You be sad and start yelling. This is the one thing I told... Shut is by yelling You fucking losers You be sad I'm feeling yelling This is the one thing I told Shut up I told Joe I told Joe You're sarcastic Joe
Starting point is 02:55:11 And I said Sarcasm Oh yeah tell what you said Yes I said sarcasm Is really anger It's unresolved anger Shut up
Starting point is 02:55:21 No Never Hey Anger to eat No I get angry today That's what you said Sarcasm is anger anger shut up no anger to eat no I get angry to that that's what she
Starting point is 02:55:27 said sarcasm is anger yes no it's I'm gonna be sarcastic to a stranger google it
Starting point is 02:55:33 google it I disagree with that you can buy anything on google you know I was on your team till that
Starting point is 02:55:37 one I'll go to Webster go anywhere sarcasm is look look he's looking it up you'll be back
Starting point is 02:55:42 on her team look at that is it a thinly veiled attempt to disguise feelings of anger fear or hurt what if you just like that style of communication yeah i still disagree with that yeah it's not always that it's not always sarcasm but i thought him being sarcastic was him hiding he was hurt.
Starting point is 02:56:07 Oh, no, that's true. In that moment, yes. Yes, you got it. You got it. I don't think there's enough feelings as to what sarcasm can represent.
Starting point is 02:56:15 It can represent a lot more than those three things. I agree with you. You are right for me. I'm just giving the clinical approach to it. For me, this is applicable here.
Starting point is 02:56:23 In that instance. My last part Some of the sarcasm Some of the And it even sounded like angry sarcasm I ended with Aurora you're a fucking sack of shit And I don't
Starting point is 02:56:33 I don't Yeah And that was one of the things I was like you cannot say that At the end But it's the end I would say to his face But I don't mean
Starting point is 02:56:40 But I don't mean it's right But I don't mean it I don't think he's a He's not a measly sack of shit I don't mean that I know you mean and I don't think he's not a measly sack of shit I don't mean that I know you mean but in that moment I was hurt
Starting point is 02:56:49 I was angered hurt people it was sarcastic like are you fucking piece of hurt people and that's what I wanted Joe
Starting point is 02:56:57 to recognize you were hurting I recognize it that's why I had to fire people hurt people were trying to hurt me are you talking over me Joe
Starting point is 02:57:03 no I'm not oh okay yeah she's trying to hurt me. Are you talking over me, Joe? No, I'm not. Okay. Yeah. She's trying to do it. Yeah. Yeah, nigga. Oh, this is great.
Starting point is 02:57:12 We're both Virgos. We're both Virgos. That's why. So here we go. But yes, hurt people hurt people. She be having it. And this is what you have to recognize when you are hurt. Right? And I said, Rory can't do anything about your hurt.
Starting point is 02:57:23 You have to do that. Y'all can talk. You can hash it out. No, no, no. That's not true. His hurt was hurting me. can't do anything about your hurt you have to do that y'all could talk you could hash it out no no that's not true his hurt was hurting me nigga go fix your hurt then i'm over here yeah okay yes stumped you yes stumped the stumper but but we're talking about you because i have you here right and we're talking about you and your feelings right and when you're feeling heavy what do you do with those feelings? How do you resolve those feelings? Call my mom. That could be one.
Starting point is 02:57:50 Right? And you. But I think within yourself. I call women. I call my girl. Mad women. Mad women. I call all the women for men and their stupid shit.
Starting point is 02:57:59 Because you need some nurturing, though, I think, in that sense. I call my mom. Which a lot of men don't really like to admit to, but they need that nurturing from women sometimes, especially when they're hurting. I'm rolling. We with you. I'm with you on that one.
Starting point is 02:58:17 Yeah. We with you. We stand with you, Doc. Doc, I appreciate you. You know what? After the intercession, guys, Maul, Rory, if you guys are listening, I don't think I appreciate you. You know what? After the intercession, guys, Maul, Rory,
Starting point is 02:58:27 if you guys are listening, I don't think I said nothing nasty to Maul, right? The internet just keeps saying I did. They said I called him homeless. I didn't call him Maul. Internet's fucked. I didn't say that, Doc.
Starting point is 02:58:35 I think academics called him homeless. But I didn't say that. Wow. And they also misinterpreted me saying that academics had some valid points in his reaction video
Starting point is 02:58:43 as me, like, standing up for him. He was saying a lot of foul foul shit but some of his business points were on point so let me clarify that rory if you're listening out there i love you buddy and i apologize yes i'm still with my thinking uh but yes some of that shit didn't have to be said that way. It was hurt. It was pain coming out in real time on a public platform. And, and in my head, they laughed at me when I said this, but in my head,
