Meg said, yo, you signed off on the last project, meaning you know it was an album. And he's saying, yeah, but it came out as a mixtape. That's what it came out as. We're not done. We still have business. So it gets messy, and they've been messy. I don't want to report on it because I don't know. I don't know all the facts.

And you've gone through some of these struggles, as we outlined on the last pod. Being signed to a production company, being signed to a label. And that's why I... It's tough for me to have certain empathy when some of these stories come across, because a lot of us good artists that have gotten fucked in our careers certain empathy when some of these stories come across because

of the same shit off now, even though the business model is very different. The business model different, but when it's somebody that one knows and one has no idea. I mean, you would have never seen a new artist have this leverage ever. Right. Ever. Yeah, because of the social media. But I think a lot of the contract language is still similar to what was happening even in the

physical world they could become stars without music right you get what i'm saying so when they sign to a major label or production company i'm talking i'm taking it off of music they become personalities you know what i'm saying whereas when you came out your music spoke for you and then you became a person these motherfuckers could have one song and be damn near household names because of social media they'll start getting a file could be based on the way they dress it could be based on tiktok a big it could be based on their antics you know what i'm saying social media and they'll blow up and so now once you blow up you get an ad money over here you can add money over there and you start using that as leverage but i think where the conflict is happening what i'm saying is that i think a lot of the contract languages and practices

and quote-unquote standards are still the same as they were when it was dependent on moving a cd and he was talking about leverage yeah like he was talking about leverage i'm saying i'm talking about all of it they brand themselves outside of music right right and so you could still get bags you got me on the papers over here for music. But I can still go get a check. I can go make a shitload of money doing everything else but music. Right, right. And now I can come back and strong arm you. That's smoke and mirrors.

something of that sort and once they blow up they get with the company that has the big machine who put you everywhere else and then use that leverage to snatch you away from the little dude.

I don't got to put no album out. I'm making money from these particular vices. So you can't really use the old school. We're just not going to let you drop. We ain't going to let you drop.
