Starting point is 00:00:00 The thoughts views and opinions expressed by this podcast as well as its hosts offer entertainment purposes only I Repeat it is not serious. It is not real. No one is exposing revealing indicting Or telling you anything about themselves Also, we do not encourage you to try this at home. We are trained professionals. Do not have your best interests at heart. Or our own. Tsk.
Starting point is 00:00:27 Enjoy the show. That's funny. That was a funny story. For real? Yeah, that's fire. You tune out in real time. It be the little things. It be the little things that you just don't.
Starting point is 00:00:39 Yeah. I go through that too. I don't have the mental capacity to hear a lot of. The bandwidth. Yeah, I don't have the mental capacity to hear a lot of. The bandwidth. The bandwidth. I don't have the bandwidth to listen to too many words today. It's a good question.
Starting point is 00:00:53 Yeah. Too many words, it's like somebody, I'll be on the phone, somebody be telling me a story that's really important to them about some shit that's happening in their life. And in the middle of the story if it's too long I'll be like yo what the fuck are they talking about man? I don't remember one important detail from the story and I know they about to ask me
Starting point is 00:01:15 they've been talking long enough to where a break is coming and they gonna say yeah what would you have done? It's even worse when it's like your wife. That's what I'm saying. Nah man, long winded they be when you pay attention to them. Yo, your wife or girl or partner, they wanna talk to you about, Oh my God, I gotta give you the tea on Barbara. You be like, who the fuck is Barbara? You got a friend? Oh shit.
Starting point is 00:01:43 You got a friend group? Yeah, you got a friend group? All right, what Barbara did? Barbara should be lost. Barbara's a bullshit. Nah, you remember when, I don't, but all right, yeah. Dog, like you gotta like your wife enough to listen, to like be in tune with all of that shit. Like nah, for that ass, like say a word to Barbara.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Barbara took it there. She always did look shady too. Be on her side. That's it, that's it. I think in the first three years I was trying to give good advice about the Frank group. Hey, she's the ho, stay away from her. That didn't work.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Hey, once they don't listen to the advice, they get closer to the hole. The hole catch on that you onto them. So the hole do things to make them do themselves. And when you told me about anything that your whole friend is going through, it make it tougher for me to not gaslight you when you bring me arguments about what we going through.
Starting point is 00:02:40 Cause what we going through pale in comparison to that shit that we be kiki-ing about your whole friend. Girl, your whole friend is getting ran through these dudes. You can't come to me about certain shit after we me and you laughed at that. But whatever, I'm toxic. I just found out where the phrase Gaslight come from. Oh, tell us.
Starting point is 00:02:59 From the movie? A 1933 play, no, people thought it was from the 1941 movie, but it's not. It's originated from a 1933 play, no, people thought it was from the 1941 movie, but it's not. It's originated from a 1933 play where the man. It's not 19. What year? No, sorry, go ahead. Where the man would turn the gas light down to make his wife seem like she's going blind.
Starting point is 00:03:19 And I just learned that. I just learned, because a lot of people use the word gas lighting wrong, to me. But I learned that's where the gas light came from, and I did some research. Yeah, you know that. Thank you for that, I just learned, because a lot of people use the word gaslighting wrong. To me. I learned that's where gaslight came from, and I did some research. Yeah, you know that. Thank you for that, Flip. I appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:03:29 It's one of, you know, flip facts. I gotta present something if I come late. Flip facts, I love that. That shit came from bitches going to brunch. That's where it came from. You saying the real facts. It came from Twitter. That shit came from a chick with a bright idea one day.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Don't y'all feel like that? That shit came from chicks on the phone validating each other. Don't y'all feel like the phrase get misused? Healthy friends. Don't you feel like the phrase get misused? You too, Marlon. Don't you feel like people misuse gaslighting? All these therapist terms get misused. Yep, every year it's a new one. Remember, narcissists started getting used for everything. Niggas did the psychology 101 and got them Freudian joints. Every year it's a new one. I remember narcissists started getting used for everything. Niggas did the psychology 101 and got them Freudian joints. Exactly, it was a wrap. Crazy.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Now whenever you disagree with somebody's version of the story, you gaslight. And they're like, nah, just remember different things. See, that's the thing. It's just when the words make it to the hood and what we do with it. Gaslight may be a real thing somewhere that means something. But when it got to the hood and bitches at brunch
Starting point is 00:04:28 started twisting it around like a Rubik's Cube, it meant something totally different. Netigates. Mark, I'm not gaslighting you because I have a different opinion. He's right. I'm not invalidating you by saying I have a different opinion.
Starting point is 00:04:41 All opinions are valid. All opinions matter. But then we're gonna get into, I'm just sharing my truth and that's not funny either. Oh, I hate that. I hate that. I'm just sharing my truth. I hate your truth, man.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Your truth. Fuck your truth. Fuck your truth. And anytime somebody say my truth is not the truth. It's yours. Yeah. I'm not looking for yours. That's how they get out of it.
Starting point is 00:05:02 I'm just looking for the, I want the. I want the. It's the truth. What part did you play in this? What's up y'all? How y'all feeling? Great, great. Brilliant.
Starting point is 00:05:15 I apologize y'all, we should've just took the day off on the 4th of July, man. We should've just took the day off, man. We didn't have the band with. Yeah. We was, we wasn't here. It was a very outside weekend. It was the outside-iest weekend. I'm kidding, yo, man. We put this green on with this.
Starting point is 00:05:48 No, it was the outside. But my son clean up. When he clean up, it's good. I have a meeting for my business. You know, he's going good with his baby. But when he just throw anything on, just a mitchmatch, I don't give a fuck. I hear you, nigga.
Starting point is 00:06:00 I cut the news on at 5 30 AM. Mike Woods, the weatherman, looks stressed. Really? He.m. Mike Woods the weatherman looks stressed Really? He may be looking to open the weather app on my phone That nigga was up there and said, alright y'all, it's gonna be humid and it's gonna storm and it's gonna be 95 Stay in, duck, run Mike Woods looked up, I was like what? I didn't know it was gonna be like this Look at summer summerin' Hey y'all I I asked for this.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Yeah? Yeah. That be y'all all winter. Oh, I can't wait for this. A male in a fuckin' friend group. When girls get friend groups, I'm tellin' ya. Oh, when it's hot, I can't wait till it's hot out. Look, misery out there. I'm fuckin' depressed.
Starting point is 00:06:40 We had a good time. Shit. It was bad. I was real bad. At the bashment, man? How was the bashment? How was the bashment, Shit. I was real bad. At the bashment, man? How was the bashment? How was the bashment? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:48 I didn't go. Damn. Oh, you did the old 52 fake out. You made it so that you could appeal to Winston Wells. That whole show, you had Lee to get this. Come on, I did. It wasn't my fault why I didn't go. Of course, I didn't think you could.
Starting point is 00:07:02 So you stayed home that day. Unfortunately, yeah, looking cute as fuck. So you didn't do it. I'ma try that move, just come here dressing in tux, act like I gotta go. I did. I did. Go home.
Starting point is 00:07:15 I did. Plans got canceled, I was disappointed. I was ready to turn up. Okay. You do this, and I always fall for it. I'm a fall for it. What? So you were here excited about it.

Starting point is 00:07:52 I don't know. Somebody needed somebody to. I don't fucking know. Why'd you find something else to do? Because by that point. Can't waste a good fit. I know. I was really upset about that.
Starting point is 00:08:01 But. Just in the crib by the vines looking good. Yeah. By the 27 inch TV. By the bookshelf looking dumb. Looking dumb. By the 27 inch TV. By the 27 inch TV.

Starting point is 00:20:21 You too? Yeah, everything was in my name. My first car was in my name, everything. That says a lot about this part. What does it say? It says that a majority of the members had things put in their name very early. I agree.

Bobby, you're gonna get a little hot. Take these fluids. Instead of getting a paper towel, Cory went there to turn the heat down. I'm crazy. Yeah, what up, man?

We have more fun. Yeah No, she's on my Saturday. I'm talking about Saturday. Oh shit. What you're talking about a daytime Oh, oh no in the daytime. She's Tom on that in the night night I was like a cookout who Dini told me about y'all
Starting point is 00:32:49 Who D don't worry about I got it. Don't worry. Don't worry about it Don't worry. You know, you gotta be a hip hop. I'm gonna hip hop move today Anyway, y'all had a blast, right? That was cool. It just hit him. It just hit him. Look, it just hit him. He old enough. Yeah. It's what you did.
Starting point is 00:33:11 It's what you did on the 4th. On the 5th. The 4th went locally and seen some fireworks in my hood. 5th. Just like on the block? No, no, no. Like some of the suburban towns, they do the fireworks for the town. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:33:27 Hey, yo, did you take the picture? Did you take the picture? Did you take the picture? Hold on, let's get him. Did you take the picture? It's, you know, like when you watch the movies and you have your daughter hand and your girl got the other side of the hand,
Starting point is 00:33:38 like you're just standing there watching the fireworks. And the pictures from behind. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's it, that's it, one of those. It's like a family picture. Oh, you should. Did you just sit in the car? Did you get out?
Starting point is 00:33:47 Did you sit in the car? Did you sit in the car? No, they do it in the park. Oh, so you got to watch it. Did you have the little folding chairs? Yeah. Nice. Oh, nice, nice, nice.
Starting point is 00:33:54 I was making fun of people. They had like a snitch line that they posted on Twitter to call people letting off fireworks. And I thought that was the funniest thing in the world. Yeah, people were doing that. Until I woke up on the 5th and went outside my backyard. And there was just like a fucking war zone out there and I didn't see one firework.
Starting point is 00:34:08 I was tight. I was tight. No, that should be crazy. And people that be having, like you got dogs, you used to have dogs. The dogs be going crazy. No, animals and vets. Yeah, vets.
Starting point is 00:34:19 Like, I was going to ask you guys, do you guys think that fireworks are like, it's kind of like outdated? Toronto had like a drone show and it was really beautiful. Boo! In the hood! Girl you in New Jersey, you watching online? Boo!
Starting point is 00:34:37 What does that mean? It's drones and it's designed in the skies and stuff like that. It's a light display. It's really beautiful. And just so you know, there are towns in New Jersey that also do a drone show. But in the hood, we blowing shit up. Apparently blowing shit, your hands, all kinds of shit up. Fourth of July, let me know how old I was. I was in the house all night just startled every time. Every single time, you know, if it was a firework, a gunshot, sometimes both.
Starting point is 00:35:06 It was like, wait, what time are they? Isn't it 40 right there? Yeah, then when it got to midnight, it kicked up a little bit. I was thinking that it would be bedtime a little bit. It was not. It was not. It was not. No, I started getting old.
Starting point is 00:35:20 That shit was waking my daughter up. I was kind of trying to like hold her. I'm like... But then I just sat there. I was in appreciated life. That used to be me. Yeah. That used to be me.
Starting point is 00:35:28 I would make sure on 4th of July, well, in my teenage years, it was the weapons on the roofs. But as an adult, I made sure I had some big ass fireworks to put on the show for the kids. Yeah. You used to have the big shit with the. For the kids. I would talk about the mortars in there.
Starting point is 00:35:46 Yeah, but it took on a different symbolism when it was kids around. Yeah, sure, sure, sure. Yeah, like imagine that, like, shit, niggas couldn't afford no fucking fireworks in the 80s when I was four. My parents were on crack. What? What? What? And statistics say it wasn't just mine. And by the way, y'all can do that. Oh, whoa, whoa, be easy, brother.
Starting point is 00:36:18 The stats saved that. Somebody else had to prepare, I was on crack too. Somebody else's gift. Don't invite two of your parents. Why you? That else's kid. Don't invite two of y'all in here. You're making a stupid video. Anyways, anyway y'all want to go, I'm down to go. Anyway y'all want to go, I'm down to go.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Drake released some music that was Friday night. He told everybody to be at a certain place at 9pm. I don't know where to go. YouTube was streaming. They were streaming at 9pm. It. I don't know where it could go. YouTube was streaming. YouTube, they were streaming at 9 p.m. It was him in a truck driving around Toronto cursing motherfuckers out, getting a lot of love from the fans. Well first he was in the ice building measuring ice blocks.
Starting point is 00:36:56 Yeah. It was an interesting stream. Well fold that up right now. Yeah, he was in the ice box making ice. He previewed some unreleased music when he got in the truck, drove around, and then the song came that everybody was waiting for, which is what we assume to be his first single off of this Iceman run he's on.
Starting point is 00:37:15 And he released an episodic series. It seems that way, yeah. So I think that was episode one of his Iceman video series that he's doing Drago always think of some fly shit fly unique Shit for his rollout definitely Definitely in a we know that he loves you all these streamers and the streamer kids So I mean it was a fly away. It was a fly away to release music. It was a fly away to get everybody
Starting point is 00:37:41 Centralized at 9 p.m. They said mad people was in there I'm sure a lot of people in there a lot of people in there to get everybody centralized at 9 p.m. on a Friday. They said mad people, wasn't he? I'm sure. A lot of people in there. A lot of people in there. A lot of people in there. I'm sure. The stream itself was fairly boring in my opinion,
Starting point is 00:37:50 but I do appreciate the ingenuity of it. I'm sure he'll get better. It was the first. It took too long to get to him being in a truck. It was just quiet. It was not much going on, except for background noise for like 90% of the stream. But it looked fly, and like I said, it is innovative,
Starting point is 00:38:05 so I applaud that. What did I miss? You said 90% of the stream? It was a lot. I was just hitting the fast forward button. It was pretty boring. Yeah, there wasn't anything going on. Nothing going on.
Starting point is 00:38:16 Literally, he was just walking around like measuring ice. He wasn't. Measuring ice blocks? That's right. Retention. With a tape measure. You said what. Retention. With a tape measure. Oh. That's it.
Starting point is 00:38:27 You said what? Retention. Oh yeah. Maybe. That's it. And we gotta assume, right, that, you know, he was scheduled to do a stream with Kai. That was postponed or rescheduled or canceled altogether. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:38:43 I'm not in the OVO group chat. But we assumed that, I assumed that he was going to debut this record there, had a change of plans, and said why don't we just do this on our own. Wayflier, Wayflier. I mean, I think the look for Kai would have been amazing, but I think him taking it in his own hands and doing something creative is dope.
Starting point is 00:39:01 And Kai's had no shortage of amazing looks. He's good, yeah, he's good. And honestly, I was getting a little sick of Drake looking for approval from the streamers, like sending them the record, having them hype it before it's released, and then when it comes, maybe it's below expectations or not what whatever these fucking streamer kids said it was like, yeah, I like him taking control of the narrative into his hands and his hands only. I do like that. Agreed.
Starting point is 00:39:32 And he's still working with them. Yeah, no, they still cool, but sometimes it's time for the superstar to get away from the crowd. The superstar should be a superstar. Yeah, that's cool throughout the year, but I'm me and it's time for me to go show you why all y'all are such huge fans. No, running me instead of me running the y'all. And he's got no shortage of talent around him, people that can come up with some creative shit, make it look good, make it sound good, he can
Starting point is 00:39:58 afford to do whatever stunt or whatever he wants to do. You don't need the streamers, you can do it. He's still using it. Today you need... do, you don't need the streamers. You can do it. He's still using the, today you need. Yeah, you don't need, but the streamers is beneficial. Yeah, for sure. For sure. Streaming beneficial to utilize them. They have a grasp on, you know, the, the, the, the, the massive, the younger culture,
Starting point is 00:40:17 and their retention is, is becoming longer. If you are here today to hear Drake Hate from Joe Budden, I'm, I don't have any. If you are here today to hear Drake hate from Joe Budden I'm I don't have any I mean either neither neither not today. It's record stuff. However Fuck with this record. It's part of the reason I hired my good brother Mark Lamont Hill. Thank you Thank you is because he hates Rick We're gonna get a lot of good hit Drake hate from him. So I'm gonna play the other side. I know this one.
Starting point is 00:40:48 I don't hate Drake. I like him when he raps. We're not gonna start with, we always start with love. Right. We can't let you lead. We start with love. I'm playing We Made It because this sound right here this sound the Spartan 300 sound the dungeon we're going to war sound I like that sound in beats
Starting point is 00:41:14 it's out here in trophies but same trophies to trophies to let's pull up trophies trophies to a Hold up Oh my god, how do you have to sound and beat? Yo when that dropped oh my god anyway How could you not like these sounds in your production? Yeah! Hey, hit records on my demo That is such a stunt opening line. I had hit records on my demo. Let's see here.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Let's see here. I don't give a fuck if you love me I don't give a fuck if you like me Askin' me how this is How you feel about me? I don't give a fuck if you like me I don't give a fuck if you like me Askin' me how this is How you feel about me? I don't give a fuck if you like me I don't give a fuck if you like me I don't give a fuck if you like me I don't give a fuck if you like me Askin' me how this is How you feel about me? Oh, let's see here. Let's see here. Listen to those sounds in the beat though. Turn this off for a minute. Let me let y'all know, Al D.A., if you've never tried to make a song.
Starting point is 00:42:18 When these sounds start appearing in the beat, the artist wants to kill a lot of people or the artists heard everything the jaw tight or There's a this this is just a feeling of gladiator to with them niggas on the ship in the water going through all the Obstacles, it's a fight feeling I do like him opening up to his people how he feels post-fight. Yeah, okay. I'm just doing this because outside of how I feel about the song, I like the attitude of, yeah, everybody else fucking kicked up off this shit off this battle. Yeah. I'm yeah, let me tell you how we are staying on it and I
Starting point is 00:43:08 Like him on these beats Like money's be I don't give a fuck if you love me, I don't give a fuck if you like me Can't say you didn't surprise me. Hey who is out there asking Drake how it felt? Who's doing that for real who's doing that to Drake in the streets I feel bad for him Can't say you didn't surprise me Some people I love hanging around plus these who try me, let's go Ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy y like that shit. .. I like that shit. I like it too. I like it a lot. It's hard. Mark you don't like it? We not tossing the mark yet. I just saw his expression.
Starting point is 00:44:10 Yeah but hit Texan. We not tossing the mark. Let Mark enjoy his tea. Let him chill. We start with love. I love it. We begin with love. And he shouted you out, showed you a lot of love. Don't just toss to the nigga that hates him in the room. No, absolutely not. You know what I'm thinking of
Starting point is 00:44:26 when I hear these songs? I'm thinking about the same effect that Queen's music used to have. Like they did like, you know, anthems. You know what I mean? Let us do this. We are on a roll. We're talking about Bohemian Raspiti.
Starting point is 00:44:38 We are on such a roll. Let us do this real quickly. Yeah, we can, man. But no, no, no, no, hold on. Am I wrong? No. Thank you, okay. You're not wrong.- No, no, no, no. Hold on. Am I wrong? No. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:44:46 You're not wrong. You're never wrong when we ask you to shut up. You be right. Okay. Okay. That's new. We'll come to you before we go to Mark's hate. I promise to hear the Bohemian Rhapsody side of this.
Starting point is 00:44:57 Go ahead. I never compared this to Fat Bottom Girls. I didn't see this coming. Not Fat Bottom Girls. We are the champions. Fat Bottom Girls are anthem. Let's not do that. No, I know. I love Fat Bottom Girls. Not Fat Bottom Girls, we are the champions. Fat Bottom Girls are anthem, let's not do that. No, I love Fat Bottom Girls. Now look what you did.
Starting point is 00:45:09 Now look what you did. The white came out. Stop. They have a Warhol giga. I came out to that song. Now they having a white on. Let's get back to Drake. What did I miss?
Starting point is 00:45:19 Back to Drake. What did I miss? I think that he knocked his hook out of here. I love the sounds in this beat and I love the irony in what did I miss? I mean, well, like everything. I don't know if there was, I don't know if there's ever been somebody that missed more. That's what you think he's talking about. You he's saying that what that is every lyric
Starting point is 00:45:50 from every album from you. No, I thought he was saying it like, yo, what did I miss when I had these things around me that I didn't see that they had? Thank you. What I'm telling you is that all of his lyrics from day one have been about this. A lot of them, yeah. About phony niggas?
Starting point is 00:46:10 Yeah. Fake love. That's it, that's exact, yeah. Friends, Dad, we're not friends. And I thought we were friends. Why aren't we friends? Back to Houdini, like he said. What did I do?
Starting point is 00:46:23 What did you do? It's been his whole career. So to say what did I miss, have you ever heard a fucking Drake album, nigga? Listen to yourself. One. Two. I can't tell if what did I miss
Starting point is 00:46:39 is accountability or victimhood. This shit is fly. Yeah. That's what makes it fly, that's what makes it fly. That's what makes it fly. It's either side. What did I miss? Does that take onus? That puts the onus on you.
Starting point is 00:46:54 Clearly, you missed a lot. Or. I don't get that. Or it says the opposite, right? I get the victims. I see both. I see both. When I listen to the lyrics, I get the victims. I think that's why it's fly. I don't get the accountability. That's why opposite, right? I get the victims. I see both. I see both. When I listen to the lyrics, I get the victims.
Starting point is 00:47:05 I think that's why it's fly. I don't get the accountability. That's why it's dope. The hook is accountable to me. If you're saying, what did I miss? You're holding yourself back. Yeah, you're holding your hook. Yeah, the verse is big.
Starting point is 00:47:14 I should have saw y'all phoning this. I should have peeped it a long time ago. But what if you're the nigga that was doing the bullshit and then just, you know what I'm saying? That would be accountability. That would make it even more fly to say, what did I miss? Nigga, you missed all the fuck shit you did too. I don't think there's ever been a scenario in hip hop
Starting point is 00:47:31 where somebody missed more than him in this instance. And I think him talking about that to his fans, post battle, away from all you niggas that called me target when most dev said that shit, the whole of hip-hop maybe is not looking at me the greatest. I understand But I'm a mega bop for the people that fuck with me for this like when a comedian do some bullshit And then they come back to they first time on tour They got to address all the bullshit when the comedian do they first stand up? Except they usually wait till the end of the bit to do it right.'s the only thing I guess I would I feel a critique I would know elephant in
Starting point is 00:48:08 the room that's how they do right like towards the end yeah sometimes for me first of all this song is great I get why people like it and playing it all weekend has been everywhere you go you hear it I got no problem with the with the song as a song is I'm just draped out man it's like the content of it for me is what you just said. I said, I hear victim. I hear victim all through it. I'm tired of hearing about the battle. I'm tired of hearing about fake friends.
Starting point is 00:48:33 I'm tired of subs to LeBron. I'm just tired of it. Drake is too talented to stay in this place. And at some point it's just corny to me. And when I combine that song to that shit we had to see on that stream, that shit you've been clipping up and playing, can you tell me? Don't look away now.
Starting point is 00:48:48 Don't look away now. Go see. Don't get shot now. We'll fold that up right now. We'll fold that up right now. First, can we go to our senior Canadian correspondent? Flip, what up, man? Who the fuck, is that how y'all talk?
Starting point is 00:49:05 I've been here for 25 years. Did that sound familiar to you? Yes, it does. Legend from the Six, right? The Toronto accent, like that, is this cross-pollination of like West Indian, kind of Jamaican kind of flavoring, I guess, with... Chess club? I don't know what the...
Starting point is 00:49:31 Queen. Honestly, you know what it sounds like? It's... Like Freddie Mercury. No, it's, no. It sounds, to me it sounds like a cross-pollination of that and a Nova Scotian accent. And a Nova Scotian accent sounds like a Minnesota accent.
Starting point is 00:49:44 So if you could, it's like a- Thug shit. It's a super thug. Who gave it back? My fault. Who did that? I'm reclaiming my time. You guys asked me.
Starting point is 00:49:53 That's what I'm saying. Okay, well, I mean, I told you, that's what it is. When I heard this shit, it sounded like somebody trying, I mean, the whole trying to sound tough thing from Drake just never works. The whole idea, we about to fuck somebody up, the we of it all fucks. But that's what tough guys in Toronto sound like.
Starting point is 00:50:07 We'll fold that up right now. We'll fold that up right now. Tough guys. So he wasn't, he wasn't. You gotta shoot me. I thought it was something. Yeah, he's gotta shoot me. I thought it was something.
Starting point is 00:50:16 He hurt me with that shit. Yo, Doug. No, I'm sorry. Somebody called him a bitch on the stream. No, I thought that it was like, I didn't know they spoke like that. So I looked at that shit like, what the fuck is you doing my nigga?
Starting point is 00:50:30 Sound like almost you making a mockery of the West Indian people, but if they speak like that, I didn't know that. So that changed things. Well that's the other thing that I realized too, after watching the stream. My favorite drink is American drink.
Starting point is 00:50:43 Yeah. Yes. I learned that back. Which American drink? The is American drink. Yeah. Yes. I learned that back. Which American drink? The Northern American drink or Southern fake Lil Wayne accent drink? Both. I like both of them.
Starting point is 00:50:51 Okay, okay. I like Houston, Atlanta, Vegas. Hey, pick an American city and appropriate them. New York. All of it. Any, yeah, dip sack. Carolinas? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:02 I learned that when I dropped more like it. That Caribbean drink ain't bad either. That's when I knew. That little Calypso drink ain't Yeah. I learned that when he dropped more like. The Caribbean Drake ain't bad neither. That's when I knew. That little Calypso Drake ain't bad. I ain't gonna hold you. Yeah, but even when he was doing that, he got in the interviews with his American voice. He was still being American.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Now he is gone. He is out of, he is Canadian bacon down. I get it. After that battle, I would be too. I would go home. Enough of America. Enough of America. Now he dissed America a bunch on that last album too.
Starting point is 00:51:31 And American dudes and the shit that oh you like those American guys. He's done with America. I like American Drake. The Drake that didn't talk like this was fire. And this guy is cool too. I'm not hating on Drake today. He made a couple bops in that in that tone No, if he's coming off no kids say what you want about it. It worked it did for sure Oh, yeah now he's right back with this. This will work because niggas miss him. Yeah, it's a great song
Starting point is 00:51:59 and you like A project being ready if you record it all the way through this, I know people say they're tired of hearing about the battle. You haven't heard the end of the battle. No. The album will definitely have some. Is you being naive if you think you've heard the end of this battle? But shouldn't we want to all hear the end of this battle? Is there anything left? If I was him I would say fuck y'all for that because I've been trying to hear the end of this battle for over a year y'all dragged it y'all forced it I tried to go to Australia for the Super Bowl. They turned it on in the Australian pizza place
Starting point is 00:52:36 Everywhere I go the Chinese joint in Toronto y'all sold out now y'all not like us fried rice Like I've been trying to say shut the fuck up about this battle Y'all have dragged it so now that it's my time to come back out and be ice man I'm frozen to all of the shit that I've been forced to watch don't tell me to shut the fuck up Or my album I'm tearing some of you niggas up and and the rest of you niggas that got dissed When he was supposed to be dissing Kendrick boy y'all are fucking lucky That's what I thought last night because this is the segment that's supposed to be for y'all yeah but that shit ain't thorough like like if you win and you keep talking shit I mean you run up the score I wanted to end to if he lost he could have still came back
Starting point is 00:53:13 all of those names that shouldn't have been in the this in prime time yeah yeah the names that shouldn't have been there win or lose after Kendrick I'm coming to dust y'all off on this and that just has a whole lot more flavor and it's more exciting he didn't do it like that which is why the result of the battle was worth it. I think he coming back for them niggas. No and I think that based on what y'all saying because y'all are more as calculated as y'all say he is he hurt every other person talking shit everybody in the world turned they back on this nigga B. Niggas that was friends, niggas that was fans,
Starting point is 00:53:48 whatever the case may be. I heard y'all, I saw what y'all type. There's a lot of people like that. I saw what y'all type. Hold on, hold on. Can somebody just say, yo you lost in that beat? That's not turning your back on me. No, that's not all people were saying.
Starting point is 00:54:00 Don't do that. That's not what we're gonna do. Niggas wasn't just saying, yo, he just lost. And that's my opinion. No, niggas was shitting on that nigga. Niggas saying he got mopped up. Niggas said more than that. It was more than that.
Starting point is 00:54:11 It was way more than that. I'm tired of him. He did this boy to that boy. Niggas was saying way more than, yo, this guy's nice, but he lost the battle. Niggas was saying way more than that. So look, I read something the other day, because I was wondering about this whole Iceman shit.
Starting point is 00:54:29 Iceman, Chuck Liddell, lost the championship fight and then came back for a rematch, this round two rematch in 05 and knocked out the person that beat him. We in a conspiracy world. Yeah, it was Iceman that was a hit man that was like, murdered more niggas than cancer. It was a bunch of different ice men.
Starting point is 00:54:50 If there's one dude that Drake ain't about to approach again in the backyard. He'll win round two. I don't know. What does that even look? He's going to send subs. Let's be clear. I don't think he's gonna send subs
Starting point is 00:55:08 I'm suing the wazoo off of these names Have a show y'all The rap part of this is finished. You know I get another right. Thanks. I don't think so. It's lawyer time I don't think so. I don't think so. Well now the mother niggas are getting some subs on the tights man. She's nothing I think Kendrick will get subs. I think the mother niggas are getting straight shots. I'm not over y'all niggas are getting some subs on the tights mansion. No, I think Kendrick will get some subs. I think Kendrick will get subs. I think the other niggas are getting straight shots. I'm not over y'all niggas. No, you're done with Kendrick. He gotta be done with Kendrick.
Starting point is 00:55:31 He's done with Kendrick. Nah, it's gonna be subs. You can't be suing people in court and sending out new raps. You're not suing Kendrick. You know what I'm saying, no. I'm not suing him. He's making a public statement that, not like us, was defamation. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:41 No, it's not. I'm saying... He's saying that y'all put money behind the defamation to push it. What's the defamation? That's hip-hop. Not like us. I think y'all misjudged ego. Yeah I think he thinks that I made some mis- well I think he knows I made some miscalculations, I made some mistakes, I underestimated this nigga and I'm ready next time. Yeah, I think I'll do this right.
Starting point is 00:56:06 Here's the other thing, there is no next time for Kendrick. If you're Kendrick, you don't step back in the ring with this. No. You got nothing to gain. I wouldn't. Depends on what he say. If that nigga come out with three or four boppity bops, and he's shooting your head off.
Starting point is 00:56:22 You late, you late to the party. Yeah. Party's over. No, Kendrick is done with this shit. Nas ain't reply back after whole drop blueprint too. Yeah, it was no need. It was no need. It was over. It was super, none of that shit. It was over. It was over.
Starting point is 00:56:32 Um, let me get back to this for a little bit. I forgot we cut it off. Let's go, let's go, let's go, you niggas just better not ask for no favor Let's go, let's go, let's go, this love for my brothers and death to a traitor Let's go, she might decide to say no to me now but say yes to me later Let's go As I listened to it, I grew a new appreciation for the let's go. Like you got the 300 beat on, I started looking at it as he hyping himself. Versus just doing some call and reply shit
Starting point is 00:57:15 for the audience. Like this beat is on loop in the studio and I'm mad at y'all because I seen what y'all said. Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, you can do this. Get back out there. That let's go has a different meaning.
Starting point is 00:57:26 What did I miss? But listen to it like that. What did I miss? What did I miss? Let's go, let's go. I'm whipping around on like 600 niggas. Let's go, let's go, let's go. You niggas just better not ask for no favor.
Starting point is 00:57:42 Let's go, let's go, let's go. The let's go is almost more powerful than what he's saying She might decide to say no to me now but say yes to me He ain't saying nothing Her ass is all netty like Florida gator Let's go You switch on the guys that supported her, hey let's go What's a give back for niggas is TBB
Starting point is 00:58:01 I look at this shit like a BTC Could be down next week and I'm up next week I don't give a fuck if miss? You didn't shout out Canada Day the other day. And now you're sitting here with your wife and kids. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here.
Starting point is 00:58:11 You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here.
Starting point is 00:58:19 You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. You're not gonna get out of here. Mel Ford, if you don't turn the fuck up. I'm listening to the mix. Mel Ford. What did I miss? This vice, you didn't shout out Canada Day the other day. And now you're sitting here with the, this bop.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Oh, Canada. Canadians have been waiting for this. Canadians have been waiting for this. Your bop, you sitting here looking cute. Let's go, let's go. Tell me to shut the fuck up. Hey, let's go, let's go. me to shut the fuck up Let's go, let's go You a legend for the six girl
Starting point is 00:58:48 Let's go, let's go Where'd I miss? Let's go Yeah, let's get McClellan on the beat Let's go Let's go, let's go Let's go, let's go Let's go, let's go
Starting point is 00:59:04 Let's go, let's go Let's go, let's go. So now we talking to the bitches. Hey! Hey! Let's go, let's go. Hey, let's go. Hey, let's go. Yeah. Niggas get punched in the face with some TLC shit on their dead eyes. Some TLC shit, cause my nigga you gon' need a chili ice peffio left eye. I'm back in your city tonight, walking around my head high.
Starting point is 00:59:19 I saw a bro in the pop out with Denver and did ride gang since he was young. Man. There you go. Arx. I like when he get MacConan on the beat. I ain't gonna lie. He's tugging on the equity of shit that he made hot,
Starting point is 00:59:36 him and 40, their whole style. When the beat switch from hard to that, I like the contrast. Yeah, I'm a fan of contrast. I like the contrast. He ain't said shit this whole record to me, but the less go over this music. Cause it started this little bro.
Starting point is 00:59:49 So, well, no, I felt like I caught a stray. I miss it. Which one? I mean, I couldn't think of who else had ice pack on the eye. Ross has got points in his face. Oh, I ain't never peeped that. You know, he shaded still. And I'm kidding, I don't know that.
Starting point is 01:00:10 I don't know that. But that's why it's live. Go back a little bit. I was damn in the right gang since city tonight. Walking around my hither, you gon' need a chili. Niggas, you're punching the faces. Some TLC shit on the dead guys. Some TLC shit, cause my nigga, you gon' need a chili.
Starting point is 01:00:23 Ice pep for your left eye. Nah, the go-go. Wordplayiggas you gonna need a chili ice pack for your left eye Nah, the go-nars were black. It's just wonderful. It wasn't your left. I wasn't I was about to say The left eye from a righty, that's true. Let's go. Let's go Well fold that up right now I saw you in the park, I was dabbling, get right gangsta's here It feels like nobody's there, taste dark, you're an option tome And nobody cares until they're in front of you in two stones Y'all been on that type of time for too long Iceman, Tiffany, Bluestone, I done made plenty shit right out of two wrongs
Starting point is 01:01:02 Shit, let's go That's hard, that's a hard line I done made plenty shit right out of two wrong shit. Let's go. That's hard. It's a hard line I'd have made plenty shit right out of two wrong. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go What did I miss everything oh All right, listen I'm done the floor is open to my distinguished cast for anything y'all want to say. I think it's hard. I like the record. I think it's hard. I like it too.
Starting point is 01:01:31 I think it's a great pop out first. Nokia was on the party album. This is just, even though it was just him, I think it's a great. I want to get back to- Nokia's going to be on Iceman. I want to get back to- No kid gonna be Iceman. Hold on. It might be. I wanna get back into enjoying the record, man. I do see a lot of think pieces out there. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:01:51 Of they breaking down the record. I don't give a fuck about breaking down the record. I care about the record. It's nice. It's a bop. You can go outside. You've been hearing it all weekend. Breaking down the record is just doing yourself a disservice because it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 01:02:01 This shit gonna still go. Who gives a fuck? That's just a hangover from the content creators during the battle looking to still move. I mean, we gonna make money. I'm gonna make money on doing that. We making money, yeah, fuck with y'all. Yeah, I'm gonna make money.
Starting point is 01:02:11 No, what I'm saying is- We making this money. They criticizing and saying that, yo, he's crying, he's not taking accountability, he's being the baby, this record doesn't have to sting because of his complaints on it. I don't agree with that. I feel like the record is fire. He came back in the studio, he did what we told him to do or we suggested you know, just go in the studio and make music
Starting point is 01:02:27 You know saying and I fuck with it and now I'm not even a fan of the Nokia song I don't really like that song but this song right here dope Have you been outside when it came on yeah With girls at the bingo game Have you been outside when it came on? Yeah. With girls? At the bingo game? Yeah, I mean, if the girls did, that don't make me like the song. Wait, you was outside with girls?
Starting point is 01:02:50 That makes me like the song. Was you outside with girls? You did as wise? Yeah, I was outside with girls. You did as wise? Well, do you mean that you were outside and girls were there or were you actually with? Oh, girl, please.
Starting point is 01:03:00 You trying to set him up. You trying to jam him up? He was trying to jam him up. Why was this? What up? Why you always rap? Yo, you the jimmy hop on to jam him up. Why you always rap? Yo, you the jimmy hop-on-er, yo. Why do you always rap? Because you're not going to hit me.
Starting point is 01:03:12 You are work caring. You can take it to the mic. Say hello to the fans. They can put their button right there like... Stupid. Let's go, let's go. I'm happy you like it though. I know you have your artistry critiques of it from an artist's perspective and what you
Starting point is 01:03:32 expect from Drake or artists like that, but I can tell that you enjoy the record. I like Drake music when it's- A bop. Yeah, I like Drake- But it's two sides of you. It's the party side and there's your artist. You're very critical. People think I don't like Drake music
Starting point is 01:03:47 because he became a bitch over the last album in a year. Easy. I'm just saying because he presented himself differently in the post... What's the album? Post-Scorpion. Got it. I think.
Starting point is 01:03:59 I'm not looking the albums up. But he's presented differently. I say it all the time, but it's not the time to shit on Drake. Like, I like Drake when the bitches move. So when do we get our artistry Joe Budden analyst on the record? Like, the shit that you were able to dissect and,
Starting point is 01:04:13 you know, when do we get that? I don't think there's, I don't, here. Cause you keep saying he just did the analyst. I just did it. You just said we shouldn't be analyzing this shit. No, but hold on, I feel that way, yeah. No, yes, I did say that, but that doesn't mean I don't want to hear from his perspective. Oh, just Joe, I got you, I got you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, way, yeah. No, yes, I did say that, but that doesn't mean I don't want to hear from his perspective.
Starting point is 01:04:26 Oh, just Joe, I got you, I got you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I did say that, like, because he started off, yo, I'm showing it, love, I like the record, it's cool. So he started off with love, but I do know there's another side where he's able to break down, like, he's talking about this person, he did this, I think this is a little, that's what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 01:04:41 But I'm saying, I think the more you do that, the less you're going to like the record. God, I don't have that. Some records ain't for that. I don't, yeah, I don't have that here. I think that, I'm saying, I think the more you do that, the less you're going to like the record. God, that's so far. Some records ain't for that. I don't, yeah, I don't have that here. I think that, like I said, I think the let's go is the most powerful part of blended with the music. For me, it's that left out thing.
Starting point is 01:04:54 And you did your little 300 music deep breakdown of the beat. But he also said he wasn't saying nothing in the record, but that which wouldn't be true. So to me now, I want to know, like, why do you feel like he's not saying nothing? It's very vague. It's the formula. It's broad.
Starting point is 01:05:09 I'm not being too specific on my, the first record from Iceman. That's all I'm saying. I'm not talking about that. I just don't want him to continue this. Okay, got it. I want you to freeze. Leave it here.
Starting point is 01:05:20 I don't want the next record, you still addressing the niggas that turned to you. Oh, see that's what I'm worried about. I think that's just what he's going to keep doing. Oh no, we might get that. We're shooting it. I think that's going to be the whole album. I think it's going to be the whole album. Ice man shot. Ice man. When ice man did like. It won't be the whole album cause he's always going to sprinkle the down tempo
Starting point is 01:05:35 R and B. What the fuck is wrong with this? Tell me about some zero. Nigga when ice man did like. Tell me about some zero nigga. Mortal Kombat? No. You're talking about Spiderman. The regular ice man did like this.? No, I'm talking about Iceman. You're talking about Spider-Man, the regular Iceman.
Starting point is 01:05:46 He did like this. That's what I'm talking about. He ain't go like this. He did like this, nigga. Who the fuck is Iceman with his hands? He come out his wrist. That's Spider-Man. All right.
Starting point is 01:05:55 Well, Iceman did the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, when Iceman hit this, shit was about to get frozen. He froze your whole body, yeah. Hell, yeah. Or this one at the ground. Or he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, He slipped off. He slipped off. this one at the ground. Oh, I create a slot. I don't want him to be Iceman from the Arnold Schwarzenegger Iceman. How bad that was. We don't want him to fall in that category. Cause there's a couple of Icemen. I thought that would be a good fit for him because it was kind of emo. That was Mr. Freeze. Mr. Freeze is a little emo. I don't want him to fall in that one because that move was hard. We ain't fuck with him. Mr. Freeze is a little emo. I don't want to fall in that one because that one was hard. We ain't fucked with it. Mr. Freeze is a little emo.
Starting point is 01:06:25 And I like how sassy Iceman is in concept. It's just some sassy shit. I see what y'all been saying. But I'm cold. Let me freeze y'all in place. That's that Chuck Widdows shit she was talking about. No love, my heart is cold to you niggas. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:40 I think that this villain arc for Drake could be extremely beneficial. I think so as well. He got to kick ass. He has to kick some major ass. Well, that's why I think that it will be beneficial ultimately even to Drake fans from the loss of the battle. He and the studio mad. They got a target boy.
Starting point is 01:07:02 AC all the way down. No, it's some AC on it. No, it'll AC all the way down. Fuck. No, it's some AC on it, yeah. It's some hookah. No, I mean all the way down. It's cold. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And some y'all means. What is leaning all the way into the villain arc look like? I don't think no y'all means.
Starting point is 01:07:14 If ain't no y'all means then that nigga's in trouble. I don't think it's y'all means in here. Good point. Not today. I'm focused. They gotta go. I don't even know y'all means. Let's go, let's go.
Starting point is 01:07:22 He's saving his chi. What is leaning into the villain arc look like? Like fully into it. See, that's the right let's go. He's saving his chi. What does leaning into the villain arc look like? Like fully into it? See, that's the right question, man. That's what I'm scared of. I'll tell you. Wait, what'd you say? What happened?
Starting point is 01:07:33 Saving his chi, man. Shut your ass up. I'm not a single person. Ancient Chinese secret shit. Oh, yo, yo, yo, yo. Man, what the fuck's happening? I mean, you said, he's like, there won't be any y'all means in there because it's going to get in his mind, right? It's distracting. So he's like, there won't be any Yamines in there because he's gonna get his mind right.
Starting point is 01:07:46 So he's like, he's saving his chi, like boxers. Yes, yes, yes. I think the villain arc for him, Let's go freeze. means no longer trying to be the favorite. No longer trying to appease to the people, no longer trying to appease anyone. Trying to be the golden child to everybody. I was trying to be cool with the label.
Starting point is 01:08:01 I gave y'all all of this and this is how y'all look at me now? Okay, so now it's fuck y'all and I'ma really show my ass. I was the biracial Canadian kid that looked up to y'all niggas. Okay, then villain arc. You know what I'm saying? And I came down here and- Well fold that up right now. And now I'm-
Starting point is 01:08:18 Fold it. Fold. And see that fold that up right now shit is what I'm afraid of. To me the villain arc, I agree with y'all, but it's like to me the way it's gonna sound is a whole lot of bitching. It's still gonna sound like whining and complaining and fake tough guy shit. That's what I don't want from him.
Starting point is 01:08:31 See I think that that's fire. Because when he does it and tries to really sound like a mob boss is when I think it goes bad for him. Like all of that, I'll cut your finger off and send it to your mom, I'll have your tongue cut out your fucking. Like all of that, I'll cut your finger off and send it to your mom. I'll have your tongue cut out your fucking mouth. All of that shit is when you're trying to, like dog, stop.
Starting point is 01:08:51 We've seen Degrassi. But when it sounds like this. You're an asshole. We did see Degrassi. Well, I know we didn't, but. I saw it. I saw some GIFs. I saw some GIFs.
Starting point is 01:09:03 I know what happened to you. We saw that one clip. Why do we use that as an example, people that did things in the past? Nigga, Game did shit in the past, nigga. Look how he is. Like, is there some niggas that can do shit in there before they got on and still be tough? It be real. What did Game do?
Starting point is 01:09:19 The Game Show. Yeah, the TV show. It's a lot of things that niggas try to criticize him. I didn't think that that meant that he can't be tough. People try to use that, okay, not you, but people did try to use that. I started it, I started it. So why you just said that? But that was in the heat of the battle.
Starting point is 01:09:35 Why you tricking me with your words? I'm saying that was one incident. 25 years ago, I have long it was. Yeah, hey, you did a game show, nigga, you a pussy. Yeah. But today, no, you could still be very much tough and do a game show. Drake has not looked at, yeah, Drake has not looked at like that from just one or two incidents. It's the whole background, you grew up, if you was acting at nine and ten and eleven or however old you were, then it's assumed that your Jewish family did all right, was breeding you up since then.
Starting point is 01:10:07 You weren't, there wasn't a, and even when Game did that, there was the story of what his brother was into. That's a fact. What his niggas was into. That's a fact, you're right. So Drake never had that, so we assume it's Degrassi and. Okay. Yeah, but then he gets some bread.
Starting point is 01:10:21 And private school. But now you get you some bread and you surround yourself with niggas that do do that And you really start moving that way and I really could get your finger. Yeah, I really can't get you fucked up your tongue cut up And I might have got a couple niggas fucked up So I know I could do it and I'm and I'm extra braggadocious about it I'm extra confident in what I can do cool, but they still never look at you that way
Starting point is 01:10:43 Yeah, that's all I'm saying niggas even if all of that's true niggas will still never look at you that way. That's all I'm saying. Niggas, even if all of that's true, niggas are still not looking at you that way. That's why I said earlier that the we of it all is what bothers me, is that we shit, like there's them and there's you, and you got influence, but you not that. Well fold that up right now. That shit.
Starting point is 01:10:59 Don't look away now, pussy. Don't get shot now. Wait, what? Don't get shot now. Don't get shot now. Don't get shot now. Don't get shot now. What? I'm saying it's hard to tell a nigga that. Even in our hoods where we grew up, it was niggas that never had to fight nobody. True. They always had niggas that.
Starting point is 01:11:18 They always had to point the finger. But you can't tell them that they not. But you saw them because they lived in the hood or lived a few blocks away. But I'm just saying, but they never, them niggas never had a fight, they never did nothing, but they had niggas that would always fight for them, or they had niggas that would put in work for them. You can't tell them niggas that they not super thorough.
Starting point is 01:11:36 Yes. You get what I'm saying? Yeah, I feel that just wouldn't be relevant to the point we making about Drake. Cause he didn't have niggas around him. That wasn't his experience, yeah. Good point good point yeah we would you want all that and that's to the people that feel like that about him right I'm back to the music I feel like that about him Mark did you get enough hate off I feel like feel good I feel
Starting point is 01:11:55 like we got too much love Drake love out there no I feel good and again like the album I mean I like the record think it's gonna be great I mean look I saw was that the top of Spotify looks like it's gonna land in the top 10 one. No, no a billboard one Yeah, I'm sure I already is gonna land number right number nine on the billboard hot 100 Is that not right? I just read earlier this morning is looking to debut at one. Okay, so I read something different We'll find out. I already landed right at number nine about a debut on it one yeah, I read I read like number nine right above Luther at ten, but I could I could but I could be wrong.
Starting point is 01:12:27 Yeah, I could be wrong too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll find out. Because I thought it'd be interesting if it doesn't land at number one on the billboard and what that might mean. And I saw a lot of chatter about that. Like, you know, if this thing ends up being number nine,
Starting point is 01:12:36 number eight, does that mean that he's no longer the machine? Does that mean he's no longer an instant? But we already realized that the machine is not really behind them anymore. Right? He's suing the machine that was behind them. No, it's still behind them. I don't mean they ain't behind them
Starting point is 01:12:50 because they still want to be profitable. He's correct. They still want to be profitable. Yeah, but it's a little bit different. And you might want to get in the niggas good graces with regards to the lawsuit. No, but what if their ego was bigger than his and said we want to set an example to show you
Starting point is 01:13:04 which we've been trying to set, and if you keep this shit going, we're going to have you debut at number nine, have the people talk about how you fell off. Like, there's trickeries in this thing. And that's what it felt like, and I don't want to get into the conspiracy piece of it, but this feels like a record that would've hit number one
Starting point is 01:13:20 and it maybe should've, but Joe was saying a long time ago that when the industry decides that your time is up, your time is up, it doesn't mean you're completely out of the game, but they can influence these times. You can't be that no more. Yeah, you can't be that. And that's what just feels like a little bit of still
Starting point is 01:13:34 staying your place, or we're letting you know what your place is. Yeah, I mean, and it just finishing above Luther, which has been on the chart for 33 weeks, is crazy to me. But. Yeah. I still, real quick, for me, I still didn't think that they thought that Nokia would do what it did. Week two is going to be important.
Starting point is 01:13:51 That's what I want to see. I don't care about this. I need to see what week two do. In terms of drop off. If it moves up or down, and how far. That'll tell me how the label's looking at him, and how he's being received. Even though I don't, it don't affect how I feel about the label, how the label's looking at him, and how he's being received. Even though I don't, it don't affect
Starting point is 01:14:06 how I feel about the music, but the game that's being played, I can't wait to see what week two looks like. How awkward is it when you're suing Universal, and you're putting out this great music, that like you said, everybody wants to make a profit, what's that tension like between artist and label at that point? Like what, again, like do you,
Starting point is 01:14:25 how hard do you promote it harder? Do you hold back? Do you just say, pretend the lawsuit's not happening? Like how do you, how would you negotiate that? I can't say because I've never seen anything like this in my adult life with an artist with this much leverage and power and talent still at this stage of his career, making this move against the level.
Starting point is 01:14:45 Does he have the leverage? Yeah. Why? He has his discography. Yeah. And even if he don't, even if he don't. And I think yes. When I drop, it's 300 and up.
Starting point is 01:14:56 And that's on a low ball. I'm low balling it. And I was about to say, takeaway Kendrick, music has been ass. I'm not going to say that, because you have to search for music. It is great music out there. I know. You talk about mainstream. That's the point I'm not gonna say that because you have to search for music. It is great music out there. I know.
Starting point is 01:15:07 You talk about mainstream. That's the point I'm talking about. It's been a quiet year. Outside of Kendrick Lamar for the last 13 months. The last, well, this year, this calendar year. May. May. It's been bad. May.
Starting point is 01:15:18 We already in July. Jesus. You get what I'm saying? Like, yo dog, for the last year and change, music, especially hip hop on a hip hoppy mainstream hip hop side, who shined? Drake is Kevin Durant still dawg. Like, I may be 37, 38. I'm gonna put 27 points a game in the bucket when I walk in the gym. I'm a super max.
Starting point is 01:15:38 It's different. And that's, if you can do that, that's leverage. It's different because they pushed the button to do that. We saw that what happened when he put his own music out. But I don't mean that. No, I'm- Because it's talent went with the button. Because y'all know more than this to me,
Starting point is 01:15:54 but I'm just talking from a logical, rational standpoint. If the button was the button that could do it with anybody, don't you think it would have behooved them to do it with anybody? I'm not saying that. We've been- You still gotta have talent. There's in a music drought for fucking 14 months. I'm saying when he put 100 gigs out, there was two records on there that I believe, had
Starting point is 01:16:13 they not been going through this, would have shot up the charts. But we going through this, so we not touching them records and they did absolutely nothing. But when he put the 100 gig out, they- You talking about No Face and- No Face and- I can't remember the name of the No Face, I like the songs, but didn't they snatch them off? Something Rhythm, right?
Starting point is 01:16:28 No, you talking about the other two. Circadian Rhythm. Circadian Rhythm, yeah. Something Rhythm. When he put the 100 gigs out, what happened? They were out for a little bit. I don't even know if they still streaming. I have no idea, but that's my point though.
Starting point is 01:16:40 You talking about the other two songs that we listened to later. I'm talking about when he put the 100 gigs of content out, didn't Universal snatch it? No, then they went back and put two records, You talking about the other two songs that we listen to later. I'm talking about when he put the 100 gigs of content out, didn't Universal snatch it. No, then they went back and put two records, well they put like three or four records on streaming. They did.
Starting point is 01:16:51 I don't know. And nothing happened. They're still there. Oh, see? Yeah. And there's been no push behind it though. Gotcha. Which says, you can be as talented as you want.
Starting point is 01:17:01 If we not doing something on the back, promoting your shit to normal, why can't you on this playlist over here? Cuz everything is streaming now. We're not putting you here We're not putting you there. We're not putting you there. Your record won't make certain numbers Or or or why I can't say that Drake didn't want to do that Or no, you know, I love the thing. I want him to answer me like why why can't it say? Hey, I'm playing chess I'm in the middle of litigation. I Have these records that will'm in the middle of litigation I have these records that will never see the light of day let me just throw some shit out to see something and gain information versus for it to actually be ahead because I'm
Starting point is 01:17:33 listening to you and I agreed with that at some point and I still agree with some parts of it but Drake got enough money and resources to make a record like No Face and Circadian Rhythm do more than what it did. True. So I'm gonna assume that. But how? I know he has all the money in the world. But again, the labels control- He got power too.
Starting point is 01:17:54 It ain't just money. It ain't just money. Drake name is coming up at the Illuminati meeting. I would agree with that. No, listen, I'm with a serious face. Not just that, I didn't even know those songs were still out. I thought when they snatched 100 gigs, those songs disappeared. So the masses might not know that those songs are out.
Starting point is 01:18:16 But that's what I'm telling you. And you're saying that when they pushed the button, the masses wouldn't know. The masses don't know what's out. Cool. Because the masses go and click playlists. So that means you're purposefully suppressing my shit. Because let's just take it from any artist. Mark is Drake.
Starting point is 01:18:31 So we might give Mark the plus five promo. Ice is just one of our regular tier acts. We might give him the plus three promo. We didn't even get the plus three for those songs. And that might, and that's a great point. And that may have been his point of releasing them again Yo, you know audience. We just throwing shit. We just saw we don't know nothing about nothing, but that what a what a great point I also think that I mean even like the album covers are just the default iPhone
Starting point is 01:18:57 Little wave thing. So clearly it was even from his side. It was not intended to be pushed. No effort. Yeah. These were throw-outs. To not even put energy into doing videos yourself, or artwork yourself, that tells you that. I think it was a test of water. If he's making the argument, And he did a video. If he's making a, oh, no, no, he said,
Starting point is 01:19:21 he said to not put energy into doing artwork or videos, I'm like, they did a no-face video that he dropped. Yeah, but slow down because we get lost in words today These rich artists got the little bump Nigga with the camera following him around and is gonna edit as they have their charcuterie board Yeah, and that's gonna be their video versus a video video A production. A production. Like the Nokia video. Yes, that's what I'm saying. So yes, he had a video, but it wasn't a video. And to Joe's point, yo, I throw these two songs
Starting point is 01:19:53 that I might throw whatever out, just to test the water and see if the public is gonna receive me in a manner that I thought. And they might not, so let me go on the tuck for another three or four months. He in the suit saying, hey, I've been suppressed while they boosted Kendrick, so let me go on the tuck for another three or four months. He in the suit saying, Hey, I've been suppressed while they boosted Kendrick. So why not put out songs to show that they not performing like my songs
Starting point is 01:20:10 normally perform? We don't know. But people with ears think that no face and the circadian rhythm is fine. Yeah. And a couple of records is fine. And another time those records are number one. Listen, everybody was up in arms about that shit that was playing in the truck. Super Max. Super Max. It was hard to hear from me, so I don't want to judge it. Yeah, I didn't hear it. Finding Bad Audio.
Starting point is 01:20:35 He was in his he was in his time stamp bag, which even that kind of has a little formula to it. Like once he tell me who he was at dinner with or who he was Having tea with and what they was talking about is up for you niggas Who the hell is this calling me dub for you? Yeah, once he I was talking with Taylor and she was telling me she had a vision I Was feeling down but Taylor told me that I'm the biggest thing in Toronto and these niggas could suck my dick like once he done
Starting point is 01:21:07 Me and Erica were talking in the living room. I had the tea she had the peppermint and like what's that happening? It's gonna be on for you niggas and stupid me. I thought he was talking about I thought he was talking about Taylor Swift Until Taylor Rooks said hey, it was me And I was like, oh now that changes this entirely. You was talking to Taylor Rooks over some tea, nigga. And she told you that you was the man in Toronto, all these niggas could suck your dick. That's the Joe Freak version of that. She didn't really say that.
Starting point is 01:21:37 But she said, I was talking to Taylor and it was getting deep. She told me I was a national treasure in my hood. We gotta find a video. Don't look at me say it. He was he was saying Taylor was in his ear saying something I don't have Taylor Rooks girl keepers getting smaller when other companies are growing and overflowing this family only feels like a brittle to affiliates that thought that they were safe because they played the middle losing all these friends really got to me I was talking to Taylor over drinks and it was getting deep not everyone can handle this pressure and even sitting here the national treasure that's what she said to me
Starting point is 01:22:19 only time to put me in a box with a red leather monkey I don't know what you talking about Yeah, I heard enough. Me too? You can cut that out. I don't know what you talking about. He said, I've been so busy you could tell me the weather changed and I wouldn't even notice. And you bitch ass. That's the drink I love. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:34 And you niggas that played the middle and thought that y'all was safe. Y'all ain't safe. Y'all not. Nigga, I was talking, y'all motherfuckers. Y'all made him go and fucking text Taylor Nigga Taylor just got an amazon deal Taylor busy as hell. I don't text Taylor Y'all made that nigga text Taylor to have a talk about the frenzy in life You think this is about to die except Kendrick all of y'all about to die. You niggas is about to die except Kendrick.
Starting point is 01:23:06 All of y'all are Russell. Hey, man. Hey, what's my bad name? Don't like me sometimes. D1, hey, hey, hey, everybody getting it. Shout out to D1 too. Yo, because you know Taylor didn't say nothing to him that was going to save niggas.
Starting point is 01:23:24 No, battery. Taylor told didn't say nothing to him that was going to save niggas. No, battery. Taylor told us you are the best, they are wrong. Yo, when you talking to a baddie one on one after 10pm in the car. Battery, charged all the way up. And you feeling bad, what? Over tea. Y'all niggas are going to die thanks to Taylor Rooks.
Starting point is 01:23:45 That battery is super max battery. What? Super battery, nigga. Y'all hear what the athlete niggas say when Taylor Rooks put the mic in front of them. Oh, man. They go crazy. The athletes say they about to win seven championships
Starting point is 01:23:57 in the next five years. Best laws off. She made the Thompson twins smile. Kill them fucking athletic freak ass niggas don't smile. Them niggas smiled, had a sense of humor. Yeah. You know. Taylor Rook, girl.
Starting point is 01:24:12 Girl, you know, why you look quiet? Why you look quiet? You told me to shut the fuck up. With all my opinions. Mel, no, that was in the first. That's been over, girl. That was just in that boemian Rhapsody moment. I always want to hear from you.
Starting point is 01:24:29 When people leave. And never want you to be talking to kids. Don't ever suppress your voice up here. Okay. Your voice is super important and we always need to hear it. Okay. And don't you ever forget that, honestly.
Starting point is 01:24:40 Please don't. You're a national treasure up here. Thank you. We were just spilling some tea a couple of seconds ago, but... Oh yeah, you want to spill tea while we're doing this? I just have questions. No, I have questions. Some expensive tea? Yeah, it is.
Starting point is 01:24:54 Who spilled it? I'll keep that to myself. What was the question, though, man? The audience know who the messy bitch up here is. The audience know. It's not even secret. Mark, I was gonna ask you though, which Drake do you like? Like when he raps, what is it that you wanna hear from him?
Starting point is 01:25:14 If it's not that. We just overheard in that truck, I love it. I love that Drake. I love Drake when he's rapping. I just like when he's just spittin'. I don't like emo Drake, I don't like singing Drake. I can do a little. I love emo Drake. I can deal with some emo Drake in the in doses in the bars
Starting point is 01:25:29 But anything when did when did you gain this opinion? Well, I need to know the year. I've always felt like that but everything after What's time have to take care of news? No Nothing nothing was the same after nothing was the same It just felt like I felt a turn where the music was getting more and more self-indulgent and more more I hate to use this word but narcissistic and it was like there's a sincerity. Yeah, yes lady all that You know There was like a sincerity and Drake's raps that I used to love like when you listen like a song like look what you've done
Starting point is 01:26:00 Right where he's rapping it's still I mean, there's a there's emotion But it feels honest and vulnerable that feels different to me than the later albums I'm a my boss in the whole world against me and have all these fake friends Yeah, he have a billion dollars, but my boss wasn't nothing was the same It was but there was some this is this is hold up now Let's not get crazy. Oh, whoa, let's not get crazy. Let's not get crazy now. Let's see it go up. Hold up now. I know he lost the battle.
Starting point is 01:26:32 But let's show some fucking respect around. I am the kid with the motor mouth. I am the one you should worry about. Listen, I just want to be clear of what album we talking about. Boy. This my number one. Listen, I just want to be clear of what album we talking about. Boy. This is my number one.
Starting point is 01:26:52 All right. Yeah. Coming off the last record. I'm getting 20 million off the record. Just off these records, nigga. That's a record. This ain't momtide Drake. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:27:03 Oh my God. Jesus. Mark. No, Jesus, Mark, no. You talking about Scorpion. You talking about Scorpion. You might be right. Scorpion, damn, you might be right. You talking about Scorpion. That's when it was Mobb Life, I'll shoot it up,
Starting point is 01:27:15 I'll kill y'all, I'll hogtie you, kidnap you. It was that, and he loses me there too. Yeah, yeah, you might be right. I'm done with that. But this album? And then I got it. Somewhere between I'm sober and I'm lifting Mistress and commitment, but I stayed down
Starting point is 01:27:46 But they got the same Yeah! Yeah! You're fat! We're full down and you're breaking up! No! No! No! No! No! No! No!
Starting point is 01:28:02 No! No! No! Stop playing with that man, Mark. You ain't had a screw face when this came on. It's not possible. I was outside for this run. I was there for this run. It wasn't too many niggas mad at this boy when this was out. Kendrick fucked a lot of shit up. He got it done with this one. This album?
Starting point is 01:28:17 Man, listen. And views, yo. I know y'all done. And views, bro. This shit was still fire. Cause views came after this, right? Yes. That was only stupid ass Joe Buttons.
Starting point is 01:28:28 Yeah. I hated you for that shit, bro. I still remember the group chat that night. I still don't love that album. I love that album. I know. That's the hot side. Wait, so wait, Freeze, you disagreed with his take?
Starting point is 01:28:37 Hell yeah. Everybody did. Everybody did. It was only me. But no, it wasn't only you. He can't get on no fucking album. And then niggas ran with it because he's him. And they follow whatever the fuck he say.
Starting point is 01:28:47 I wasn't with all that Caribbean shit. I ain't have money to fly. That's all the shit I like on that album. You ain't have to be with it, just go outside. Also, wait, so now that you're sophisticated, because you got some money, you appreciate it now. Oh, no, that's one of the greatest albums I've made. That's one of the greatest albums I've made.
Starting point is 01:29:03 But he was being too cookie cutter. It was, you know what did it for me, that's one of the greatest albums I've made. That's one of the greatest albums I've made. But he was being too cookie cutter. It was, you know what did it for me that line, but, oh, why we gotta be a cheesecake? All you in here know the time, you know, that's my favorite restaurant. It's like, yo, dog, it felt like Chad GPT was writing these rhymes. And as a rapper,
Starting point is 01:29:17 cause I was an active rapper at the time, I hold the bar higher for the best rapper, is just he wasn't on rapping vibes. He was giving us different vibes and those vibes were absolutely fire But I was still looking for fire and that's what I'm saying sometimes she could be a bop and I still I was still looking For fire. Yeah, but in hindsight, okay Those bops Fuck the box. It's fire wraps on views. I have to go try again far far a few from me
Starting point is 01:29:43 It was all just do me a favor. I remember the Caribbean joints, which I loved a lot of slow R&B shit, which I do not like. Listen, I went and listened to pimple butterfly again for y'all. Go listen to views again. All right. Let me see what's up. Oh yeah. And that bum ass intro. Are you kidding me? Hell no. Why do you go back? I'm confused. Oh no, that's not the intro. Where is that views intro? The one you didn't like was the turn of six to a nine. You ain't like that.
Starting point is 01:30:10 No, but the intro too, this is when he was all sad. Keep the family close? Yes! Are you nuts? Dog, no. No. You gotta be trippin'. I thought Drake was suicidal on this run.
Starting point is 01:30:22 Says Joe Button. Right. Yes. You know what I'm saying? Says the fucking album cover. with suicide on this run says Joe button right yes cover reflected at the views of city if you see somebody sitting up here you should call police if you driving on the bridge and somebody sitting there you You ain't gonna say, oh shit, money reflected. No. You call it wallow. Yes. You know what I'm saying? No. No. You're an idiot. You call it wallow.
Starting point is 01:30:47 I don't want to hear that shit. I'm fucking free. Yo, yo. And then the album start like this. Look, now for real. You're a bug. I wanted to call fucking ACS somebody. Hey.
Starting point is 01:30:58 Difus. ACS. ACS. ACS. All of my let's just be friends. Come on. Friends I don't matter. I ain't stopping, yo. You're a bug. You can't sell me no music. No, no let's just be friends. Come on. All right, stop it, yo.
Starting point is 01:31:05 You're bugging me. You can't tell me no, no, no. It's hard music. I was worried about him. Guess I should have tried to keep my family close. And the album was called Views. I definitely thought he was about to hurt himself. He was catching a view from sitting up there.
Starting point is 01:31:19 Exactly. It's a CN Tower. It's a beautiful view. Why you left? She had the money. Why didn't she why you left she had a money why did she left it was a yeah she would have had that sea and what was the tower see the CN tower yeah that I would have been seeing something different and I'd have been seeing more Canada calling me sorry well what the answer was doing this was
Starting point is 01:31:40 out turn that up nigga watch your fucking mama controller My I was mad as hell. I still ain't here to rant, but I already went crazy. Fuck your Adderall joke. She sure know how to get shit Mr. Softy. That shit be like this, that shit go like. I'm ignoring this thing. I'm saying, never at all, gonna have my name with no talks. Yo, just go home, man. He pick these baddies up, make me the talk about them.
Starting point is 01:32:20 He go, oh, God. Oh, fuck. I told him I was gonna. You gotta tell her,. Oh, fuck. I told her I was going to go. You got to tell her, just go home. It's good. I'm good. Just go. A little west side highway run up.

Starting point is 01:34:29 All right, speaking of running game, Essence Fest. That was a good one. Wow. That was a good one. Wow. That's way. Tossin' the mark.
Starting point is 01:34:40 Essence Fest, as you know, is an annual event in our culture and our community. It's a dope event. I love Essence Fest for as you know, is an annual event in our culture, in our community. It's a dope event. I love Essence Fest for what it means. But this year was a little rough. Why? Not much. It was sparsely attended.
Starting point is 01:34:56 I think when I looked in the stands, maybe 60% of the seats were empty. Who were the headliners? You had Patti LaBelle was there, Jasmine Seller was there, Lauren was the head headliner at the end. Stephanie Mills was there, and we're going to talk about her because she just wrote an open letter to EssenceFest about it. And it was bad.
Starting point is 01:35:12 It was rough. L'Oreal was one of the main performers as well. L'Oreal was there. There was some great acts. It wasn't a lack of acts, but it just wasn't there. The vibe in New Orleans was dope as always because there's so many people descending down there, especially black women.
Starting point is 01:35:26 It's the whole weekend, right? It's the whole weekend. It's not like one day. No, it's the whole weekend. You go down there, there's events, there's panels, there's concerts. It's the whole thing. Essence Fest is fire.
Starting point is 01:35:34 I love Essence Fest. It's just this year, it just wasn't well attended and it wasn't well managed. You know, the headline went out and I gotta correct the Lauryn Hill slander because people, you know, the headlines kept saying, Lauryn Hill showed us an end to three in the morning Lauren Hill was playing of 300 people it was true but it wasn't her
Starting point is 01:35:51 fault that's why the headline was tricky it talked about how late she performed but she didn't arrive late Lauren was on time this everything was running for the event Randall the event was there when it was time to start, Laura was there. When it was ready for her. Ron Isley was up like three hours past his bedtime. He didn't hit the stage till like 11 o'clock PM. Everything was 40, when Ron Isley hit the stage, the act before him was running 45 minutes past the time Ron Isley was supposed to have ended. Like that's how late it was.
Starting point is 01:36:23 Why it starts so late? Just, that I can't say, but from what- Niggas. past time around Ozzy was supposed to have ended. Like that's how late it was. Why is it so late? Just that I can't say, but from what? Niggas. Yeah, I guess I can say. No. Turns out I can't. There's been a lot of changes to like the-
Starting point is 01:36:32 You can say it at this job. Sorry, sorry, old habits. There's been a lot of changes to like the infrastructure of people who were responsible for running the fest. And it's just unfortunately they ran into a lot of inefficiency. Yeah a lot like Maxwell for example who also was another one of the big acts he was supposed to start his performance at 1115 he took the stage at basically 1 a.m. 1255. That's crazy. Wow that's behind schedule. Exactly so Lauren didn't hit the stage
Starting point is 01:36:58 Lauren was supposed to start at like 2 o'clock I mean Maxwell Lauren arrived on stage at 2 31. Like they took about 20 minutes to get her band together to do the set up. She didn't hit the stage to 2 31. Nobody was there. Her thing ended at 3 37 AM. That's horrible for a concert or a festival
Starting point is 01:37:14 that's primarily aimed at an older generation. You know what I mean? Yes. It's the uncle or auntie joining. It ain't, it's not even the BET award weekend, which is for like the generation earlier. And it's the event that the uncles and aunties feel like they can get cute for.
Starting point is 01:37:27 Yeah, you got to be here all night in the shoes that hurt my feet. Yeah, it's also the jewel in the crown. It's the one that, it's the thing that funds the magazine. Yes. It's really important. Stephanie Mills wrote, I'm not gonna read the whole letter, but she wrote an open letter to the Essence organizers.
Starting point is 01:37:42 She's writing to share my feedback. I'm remain grateful, yada, yada, yada. But she said, the challenges I encountered were multifaceted and in my view, indicative of broader organizational shortcomings. The schedule and time management were severely lacking, creating a chaotic and stressful environment backstage. The disorganization cascaded onto the stage,
Starting point is 01:38:02 impacting the flow of the event and ultimately diminishing the quality of the performances and she said basically these are not isolated instances beyond the logistics the technical difficulties all that she was just saying it's an overall issue I don't love that she did that she's yeah you know Stephanie Mills yeah fair enough yeah you know yeah I mean I'm not surprised that shit. It read very Stephanie Mills. Every paragraph said the same shit.
Starting point is 01:38:30 Yo, these niggas fucked up, they fucked hard, it's below standard, get it right. In a very professional way. I just wonder what that letter would have meant behind, you know, backstage or behind the scenes or whatever. Sometimes you gotta do it publicly. Sometimes. Sometimes. As I said, I'm not sure if I love it. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:38:45 Essence has a long history of doing it right, so I feel like although this year was terrible. But she said it's been new people. Yeah, no, and the new regime is extremely new. Like as late as like last year, year before, it was run very efficiently, so. Or our performances might have been lackluster. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 01:39:03 So we don't want to take the brunt for that. We wanna put it out there like, yo, I rushed through my set or I gave you a half-ass set because we went on two hours late. Yeah, I feel that. You know what I'm saying? I feel that. So I don't want it to be a reflection on me. It was them.
Starting point is 01:39:16 The thing is, I will say, I saw pieces of, because they didn't do the whole full stream like they used to, which is another thing that I thought was interesting. Everything I saw looked good. Lauren's set which was which was the headline set was a dope set as well. She even took some requests from the crowd which she could hear because only like 300 people there. So not even being funny. I heard it was dope but they showed the seating and it was empty. Niggas lips
Starting point is 01:39:37 literally shouted out yo do gotta find peace of mind and she was like all right we didn't practice that but I'll do it. She did it. She did tell him and she was at the end of the set she was like, all right, we didn't practice that, but I'll do it. And she did it. She did tell him, and she was at the end of the set, she was like, she was looking at one of the fans, like I had to look at you for the lyrics, because I couldn't remember. Because like, but she was trying to engage
Starting point is 01:39:52 the audience at 3.30 AM. Very professional. That's very dope. That's what I'm saying. And that leaves, honestly, that makes it a more intimate show. Even if it's a big venue or something, those fans that was there, they remember that.
Starting point is 01:40:05 Then just to show where you ran through your door. They stayed till three o'clock in the morning for me. I had a basically a one-on with Laurier. Which is crazy. The other thing I want to add is it's not just Essence. I want to talk about the Essence in a minute, but it's not just Essence. The Jazz Festival, a couple of annual Jazz Festivals
Starting point is 01:40:22 have been down in attendance. Like a lot of big, like festivals are down now. And what I'm wondering is maybe we should stop trying to have been down in attendance. A lot of big festivals are down now. And what I'm wondering is maybe we should stop trying to have these things every year. Maybe this needs to be every two year thing, every four year thing. Why? Because you know what's coming. Nobody says the same thing. I mean attendance being down is one thing, but we got to think about the reasons as to
Starting point is 01:40:41 why. Talk to me about that. Yeah, what do you think? Niggas is fucked up. Money is down for people, bro. This is a, it ain't just little jazz festivals. But that's another reason to do it every other year. Dog, we talked about Summer Jam going from MetLife to Arena, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:40:56 Everybody's down. I see, so then what's the end, what do we do here? I don't feel like that's, I feel like that's lazy. I heard people, I feel like that's lazy. Some people said that theresens Festival was down because they started to get advertising dollars from Target. No, see that's what's incorrect. So the CEO of, okay, all right, finish, go ahead.
Starting point is 01:41:17 No, no, but if you. You got it, Finn? No, go ahead. No, no, it's all right, yeah, finish, what you saying? I was just gonna say, because there was a lot of criticism, finish, go ahead. No, I'm laughing at Flip, but, because there was a lot of criticism. Finish, go ahead. I'm laughing at Flip, but go ahead, go ahead. Somebody please.
Starting point is 01:41:28 Wait, come on. Please. Okay, there was a lot of criticism in regards to Essence Magazine, their main sponsor being Target, because of the boycott that is still in effect. But the issue with that is Carolyn Wanga is the CEO of Essence,
Starting point is 01:41:43 and she used to be head of DEI at Target. 15 years. Exactly. And so when you have a contract with an organization like Target, they have been a long running sponsor. This is pre-boycott. This is pre-everything. You can't just get out of that contract
Starting point is 01:42:01 just because of political issues or whatever the case is. You know what I'm saying? And then she was also kind of responsible for bringing Target into black communities and pairing, I guess getting more, what? I'm not laughing at you. Everything you're saying is 100%. I was just thinking about all the black people I know
Starting point is 01:42:21 who support concerts and don't give a damn who the sponsor is. I'm thinking of all the uncles that go to the Newport Jazz Festival. And they've been killing us for like 30 years to have a smiley event sponsored by Wells Fargo. I'm just thinking. I'm not sold.
Starting point is 01:42:32 That's how they get in when we boycott. But not just that, when you have Tamika Mallory and you have other people come prior to the actual Essence Festival, start pointing out that we're not going to share because of these things, that is, they are influential people, and they could potentially, and they could potentially turn people away.
Starting point is 01:42:49 I'm just not sold, that's why black people didn't go to it. I'm saying maybe, maybe not, I'm just giving you an example. I just never met a person that said, I'm not going because Target's a sponsor. I don't know of any black person that would go to that. That's not the reason why, that ain't the reason why. That's just an additive, something that we noticed while we was mad. I ain't met a black person that was really boycotting Target. That's the an additive. Something that we noticed while we was mad.
Starting point is 01:43:05 I ain't met a black person that was really boycotting Target. That's the other thing. I ain't met any of them. No, I'm talking about that I've met. I've heard people say it. There's a lot of people. And I ran into them people in Target. What the hell?
Starting point is 01:43:16 What you doing here? Just making sure your niggas ain't here. That's your man? I know. You know the bar is free. We're on Target yesterday, baby. But go ahead. I know you. Listen, I know you You know the vibes, it frees. We're on Target yesterday, baby. But go ahead. Listen, I know you was.
Starting point is 01:43:28 I show up. The numbers say something different. I don't doubt the numbers. The numbers are saying something drastically different. But I'm just wondering if the people who would boycott Target, which is probably a more educated, middle-class audience, which I guess is Essence. It's the Essence Festival.
Starting point is 01:43:40 That's a fair point. That makes sense. College-educated, 40 40 something year olds going down. I guess I just don't know. You really want to talk about what they're doing? No, no, I just don't know none of them. Like you, you saying that's my demo? No.
Starting point is 01:43:57 Yeah, it's cool. I'm missing it. No, I'll tell you later. Okay. That's great for a part. So what's the reason, Joe? Break it down for us. I feel like you, you are smooth. Have the answer. I don't have the answer, but I feel like whatever answer I'm about to say, you familiar, but this is good. What you're doing.
Starting point is 01:44:18 You are smooth. Some shit. He is, but I'm trying, you know, me I'm just working on conversation is about this Kenyan lady alienating black Americans and essence festival being some black American shit since 92 or whatever the fuck it was. Yes. Who's the Kenyan lady?
Starting point is 01:44:37 Yeah. He's the McCarroll and Wang to see you. She's the CEO of the essence. Yes. Yeah. But I think that it's so she got all of these fucking flags everywhere. All these other things. That's cool. Look at Mark. Look at Mark.
Starting point is 01:44:50 So she got all these flags everywhere. You know, I'm bad at geography. So I don't know. But I know the flags once again. So it's everything except for black Americans. It's a black American shit. They say to town, the feeling in the town is you've alienated the black businesses, local black businesses that have contributed to the curation of Essence Fest forever.
Starting point is 01:45:11 I know when I went in 03 and 04 and around that whole hood, a big part of that was the local businesses. So now you done shut them out the game. All right, cool. Now you got this target shit going on while there's a boycott. You are not organized. Maybe you don't have your pulse on things to really get people out of here. I don't think it's people don't have money. I don't think it's nothing but you are,
Starting point is 01:45:39 the soul is gone. The soul is gone. Sometimes it's okay to say when you see it, I know it's sensitive, but the soul is gone. And I think that's the point. For me, it's less about her heritage. Oh yeah, yeah, I wasn't putting that on there. I know you're not. I know you're not. I wasn't doing that.
Starting point is 01:45:53 But that is what people are saying. You know, all the life people online are saying, you know, she's not of Negro lineage, slave lineage and therefores. But it's not that. I think that's beside the point. I think it's what you're getting at, which is there's fewer black content creators involved, fewer black designers, fewer black artists on the organizational side and the design side. I don't know if that's the reason, but that's definitely true that there's less of that happening right now. And a lot of people are concerned about that.
Starting point is 01:46:17 Again, I don't know if that makes people not show up. It could just be money, like y'all said. It could just be the people ain't got the money they're used to. That to me is always the first answer on these kinds of things. Ascends Fest don't seem to have the money that they want to have. We keep talking be the people ain't got the money they used to that to me is always the the first answer on these kinds of They have a sense fest don't seem to have the money that they want to add but we can talk about the people the black people or the people that
Starting point is 01:46:31 Potentially always go to essence. They don't know who's pulling the puppet strings behind closed doors Yeah, the CEO or whoever the fuck the CEO is is really not of their concern like that No, but I think they're saying that artists I think they're saying that part of what made Essence successful was engaging in local business, getting people involved, which helped generate publicity, marketing, and bringing people into the stands. I just don't know enough about it.
Starting point is 01:46:53 Yeah, and when that stops happening, then you're going to feel that. Maybe locally. But a lot of the people coming from Essence, they're coming from near and far. You got people coming from California, you got people, my man and them used to go from Jersey 30 deep down there. You get what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:47:08 They don't necessarily know that the CEO is not allocating the marketing dollars accordingly. What, why'd you, niggas know that Barry J. Blige is performing and this person's performing and this person? They may not know offhand or that may not be their focus. But they do know. Why? they may not know offhand or that may not be their focus, but they do know. Like weeks before Essence Fest, do all of those people that hopped in trucks,
Starting point is 01:47:33 hit the road, bought flights, the dope boys, that word hit the hood and it was the talk. There is zero Essence Fest talk. And it trickles the guy that was happening, honestly, Todd Sato. That's not just Essence Fest.. And it trickles a guy that was listening honestly to us. That's not just Essence Fest. That's what I'm saying. Parks came, I don't want to keep going back,
Starting point is 01:47:51 but when Summer Jam happened, we sat and was like, that shit was today? I don't, but I think that's- It's festivals. I think, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. We can't do that. We can't do that. I'm listening.
Starting point is 01:48:01 Hot 97 is a private owned radio station. The conversation we are trying to have, right, there's no lack of attendance at Carnival. Like I want to get back to black shit. I don't want to take it to comparing it to the white. I'm just saying the shit that we. There's no lack of attendance. I think he's talking about the lack of promotion
Starting point is 01:48:23 and the lack of talking about it. Niggas used to talk about going to Essence Fest. Niggas was talking about going to- What I'm saying though is it's a bad comp to use summer jam in them because we need to use black events because black people know how word get around for black people and black-
Starting point is 01:48:43 But carnival attendance might be low too, we don't know. No, it's not. Carnival attendance is not enough. No. I don't know. Because they might used to get 200,000, maybe they only get 100,000 now, so you can't really gauge it unless you're an active participant there.
Starting point is 01:48:58 See, I don't know enough to know. Like, I don't know enough either. I feel confident in saying that, it's not. Maybe, maybe not, I don't know. And it's not to the point where it makes it back to your block. What do you, what do you, so, but to Freeza's point, Joe, what do you think the issue would be if there's lack of promotion?
Starting point is 01:49:12 You ain't even see a streamer there. Like, what are y'all talking about? We in 2025. Got it. So you try, they're not, they're not in touch with what's going on now. They don't know what the fuck is going on because who is in charge? We ain't up there. But you know, some people, know some people when they like to-
Starting point is 01:49:26 You laugh and make a face, but when they call and say what the budget is, it lets me know. But you know what, Joe? Even your streamer point, that ain't for that crowd. It's not their demo. They know- The streamers ain't for-
Starting point is 01:49:37 But you can make it for that crowd. You're missing it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're missing it. You can can it. Anybody that's trying to promo an event should say streamer in their meeting. And in addition- It don't matter who your crowd is. Yeah. an event should say streamer in a meeting and in addition It don't matter who your crowd is. Yeah, you should be saying streamer in your meeting the NBA crowd ain't they crowd? They make out
Starting point is 01:49:55 Crowd is not a crowd. Hey, the NBA crowd is old ad I mean not crowd the owners are old ass people that in the meeting somebody had to say Streamers why we're trying to attract all the demographic that All-star game might be in a 27 28. I don't know what demo what I'm telling y'all is if you're trying to promote an event You should say the word streamer. I don't know what y'all are arguing. I get that and we don't know that What a streaming nigga there There are zealous dreamers You don't have to have a kaisa net There's other streamers the effort involved in this they missed the boat all around the board. We missed the streaming boy
Starting point is 01:50:36 I don't you know, I don't know but Demographic it missed the attendance boat. Yeah, fuck the streaming. I'm with y'all That's not they think but if you missing the attendance boat Then it's time to talk about other boats Well, then I change it now you need The axe that not only that you while I wasn't there fuck the streamers Wallow was gone. Rashad wasn't there. What are we talking about? We black culture We know what the fuck black culture looks like for the last 10 years.
Starting point is 01:51:07 Stop, stop. Because we on the pop. You can say it. We can say it. People are missing the boat on black culture. Why is that difficult to say as black people? You've been on that lately. For the past couple of months. I'm on that. I'm turning into my dad, nigga, before your very eyes. But was there a conversation, did you have a-
Starting point is 01:51:27 I'm on that. I don't need nobody else to be on it with me. No, I'm just saying, but for the past couple of months, you've been on that. Since the conversation a couple of parts ago, like while- I've been on it before that. Listen, go on. But I'm just talking about when I heard it,
Starting point is 01:51:38 because when I first got here, you wasn't really speaking like that. So did something happen? Did you go to North South Carolina? It's just getting more blatant. Got it. It's just getting more overt. It's just getting more blatant. God. It's just getting more overt It's just in your face more the older you get and the more you gain understanding about how America works and functions You'll see it more than you would like to see it and I'm not just talking about from white people when I say that
Starting point is 01:51:59 Well, the problem with the black culture part is we don't I mean soon as as soon as we get up, we sell that. We're the consumers. Yeah, we sell. We're the consumers. And when you start talking about Wilo not being there or EYL or somebody not being there and them my niggas, so no disrespect to them. Nowadays, when niggas get to a certain place, you gotta pay me to be there.
Starting point is 01:52:20 It ain't about culture no more, because if it was about culture, I would do it for free. I said we sell it. No, no, no, no, no, no. Let me talk, Joe, let me talk. So again, if you want these people to necessarily be there that are influential people that will bring in our demographic,
Starting point is 01:52:32 you gotta pay me to be there. I just said that 20 minutes ago. So it's not about culture, it's about money. It is. Well, what's interesting is, well, here's one thing to add to this. It's definitely about both. Essence does pay people to be there,
Starting point is 01:52:43 they just didn't pay those people. Or may not have met their number. Now that's possible, I don't know. Because some of the people add to this. Essence does pay people to be there, they just didn't pay those people. Or may not have met their number. Now that's possible, I don't know. Cause some of the people that are typically at Essence, they were there. But to Joe's point, they didn't even, well I don't know if I can say what they tried, but they could have gotten the great value version of Wallo.
Starting point is 01:52:56 They could have gotten a deal as well. Yeah, y'all doing a whole lot of capping. You know what I'm saying? There's other Wallos that they could have gotten for a different number. Like stop with this bullshit. I think that there's a couple of issues here. One, Essence has relied on the fact of its popularity
Starting point is 01:53:10 for many, many years. And so they assume that the same people are going to come and it's going to be well attended, et cetera, et cetera. But their demographic, the people that usually come to Essence, they're aging. And so you have to find a way to appeal to the younger people who might not know anything about Essence Fest and you've got to make it intriguing for them to want to come and so Glow Real is a great start but there's got to be ancillary acts there.
Starting point is 01:53:38 Someone should have reached out to Melissa Ford or Ish or Ice or myself or Flip and said, hey, we'll get you a hotel and tickets and X amount of dollars to come down here. Anybody that could spread the good word of Essence Fest. Yeah. And that is a meeting for their brain trust to have. Yeah. But if you skipped local businesses, then you skipped this talk.
Starting point is 01:54:07 That's the point of that. So it sounds like they were trying to keep, trying to spin as low as possible. You missed a lot of points. That's what it sounds like. That's what I think. I try to spin, I want my overhead to be as low as possible. That means that you tried to make as much as possible.
Starting point is 01:54:19 Yes. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, it's not cutting corners, hold on. There is a lot of major black festivals, like the American Black Film Festival. A lot of their advertisers, when they're black owned, a lot of their advertisers have fucking bailed. When BET, like BET has low viewership,
Starting point is 01:54:38 but yet they still get money because it's a white-owned company. When Essence was bought by Time Magazine, they had an influx of advertising dollars. Now that it's back white-owned company. When Essence was bought by Time Magazine, they had an influx of advertising dollars. Now that it's back to being black-owned. I don't know that BET gets low viewership. I think that BET Plus numbers are up. I think BET's numbers are, I don't know about low viewership.
Starting point is 01:54:57 Not in comparison to what it was once upon a time. In comparison to then and the money that they still get for advertising dollars because it's a company that's white owned. I'm just making the distinction between white owned and black owned and how much less advertising dollars these companies get. It's just a fact.
Starting point is 01:55:18 I'm in agreement with you. I think it's a complicated problem. I don't think it's just one thing. I don't necessarily know how much advertising. For them to have to take Target's money or a lot of bigger entities pulled out of DEI initiatives, period. You get what I'm saying? So Essence Festival is something that's geared toward us. They might not be supporting that shit no more. I don't know. Even the Target money I'm hearing was a buck 50, a buck 50 to 300. So what the fuck could you do when you got Maxwell,
Starting point is 01:55:48 Lauryn Hill, this person, that person, all of these artists, because the artists typically are the draw. When my friends used to go down there, they used to be like, yo, we going to the Angie Stone joint, we going to this, we going to that. We gotta pay these artists so we don't necessarily. So the sales department is fired.
Starting point is 01:56:02 Like what are you up to? I'm firing my sales department. People are getting fired and I'm bringing in competent people to help in all these areas that y'all are saying The sales department has to go if I can't get this ad then where are the ads that I can get if you only got a buck 50 and 300 from Target see and that's why I'm saying but Check this part from four or five years ago to hear how I was talking then. Because that's been the point.
Starting point is 01:56:28 You niggas are supposed to McDonald's ad for $1,000. It's McDonald's. Like, you telling me about a buck 50 you got from Target, I could point you to drug dealers that'll give you a buck 50. Stop, please. I don't know. I don't know what the number was, but what I do know and what I've heard from a lot of black media professionals is that they, because of something like this, they want economic
Starting point is 01:56:54 inclusion to be considered like a civil right because it's just so jarringly racist. I don't know. I can't speak to how much Target gave, but what I can speak to is after talking to people, the contract with Target was something that they just, it was a long running contract and you just can't break it. That's cool, but where's the rest of the contracts? That's cool, and you couldn't do nothing with the Target contract. We got that. Black people look over there and give it a side eye like they did. We are the other contracts.
Starting point is 01:57:26 But have we not heard about a lot of companies that once DEI was done away with, they just literally walked away? That means those companies picked the side, which also means there are companies that pick the other side. Which may not have a bigger bag to throw you for African. Okay, so go get a couple of them.
Starting point is 01:57:44 Oh yeah, I'm done with this. All right, yeah, a couple of them. Oh yeah, I'm done with this. Oh yeah, yeah, go. Well, I'm done with this. We'll see what happens next year. Black people know what boots on the ground mean. I think when people realize what's at stake. I think that's what I see what you're saying. Black people know what boots on the ground mean.
Starting point is 01:57:57 I don't think people like to restart. I think they try to maintain some sort of level that they were once at. Sometimes it's okay to restart. Sometimes it's okay to say, you know, we fucked up, or this is fucked up, or whatever's going on, let's go for a smaller company, or let's go for a smaller business to, like sometimes it's good.
Starting point is 01:58:18 Let's scale it down a little bit. Let's scale it down, let's include shit. We don't have to do this extravagant thing, because now look where we at now. The only thing I would add to this is we move on is just as a community we gotta know what's at stake here. Essence is a staple. And this festival is the thing that keeps Essence going.
Starting point is 01:58:34 Black magazines, black media in general is dying. And print media in general is dying. That's why there's no Jet Magazine. That's why Black Enterprise has struggled. That's why all of them, all of them., it has struggled That's why you know all of them jet, but all of them Essence is one of the ones that has thrived but it's because of this festival So when we choose not to support or not to go we're not just not supporting the festival We're actually taking a real big strike against like one of the one of the real monuments in our culture
Starting point is 01:59:00 So could it be more? We're gonna all think about that. Yeah, I know good people over there. I don't know if they're still there. Well, I used to know good people over there. So I don't wanna come off like that. So what do you do when, again, for the people that is with the, I'm boycotting Target, anything Target. I mean, it's the right question.
Starting point is 01:59:17 What do you do? Again, I'm not convinced that that's why people aren't going, but if that is the case, I don't know. I mean, I think Essence has to make some decisions about about about their relationship to Target Okay, I think I think that I wouldn't put that on the boycott or I'd put that on essence. Yeah That's what I would do but yeah when you got a relationship with somebody or a Corporation or an influencer some shit and it get hot you go to, it's hot, go lay low for a second.
Starting point is 01:59:45 Maybe this year we don't put the big Target shit. And they tried to matte it, which looked disgusting. Like it wasn't even the Target logo. So now it seemed like you're trying to be tricky with this matte pink and Target. You know what the fuck, stop playing with black people. Stop playing in people's face. Now you got it, okay.
Starting point is 02:00:03 Hey, just lay low this year. We not telling you to go and admonish, okay. Hey, just lay low this year. We not telling you to go admonish the whole shit, but just be cool this year. You're not rubbing black people the right way. And at some point, that conversation has to be had in C-suites if you care about the interest of black people. Yeah. Got you.
Starting point is 02:00:19 I'm done with this. Cause I'm not going. So I mean, I'm just running my mouth. On a different note. That's not true, I'll go if they get it right. What I'm saying? If they get it right, I'll be there. I'm surprised they. So I mean, I'm just running my mouth. On a different note. That's not true, I'll go if they get it right. What I'm saying, that's- If they get it right, I'll be there. I'm surprised they didn't invite us.
Starting point is 02:00:28 Because they've invited me and us for several years and I turned it down because the coin is not what it's supposed to be. And the experience is not what it used to be, so we don't do it. But that's the audience that I want us to perform in front of. Right.
Starting point is 02:00:44 Well, the audience that I want us to perform in front of right with it well the audience that I Know to be there. That's who I want to be in front of But we got a we got to meet in the middle And if we not mean in the middle that tells me that you didn't do your job Somewhere because you knew I was gonna cause a coin before you came to me right you got to go get it Unless they thought you were gonna do it just on the nigga. Mouse Jones wasn't there nobody was there Is what I'm saying. So fuck me.
Starting point is 02:01:08 Anyway. Nice to you. Oh good, I got some good news for y'all. Hey! Now I know y'all are big travelers. When you travel through the airport now, you ain't got to take your shoes off anymore. TSA.
Starting point is 02:01:19 Oh, hallelujah. After 20 years. Why that TSA pre-check, I didn't have to do that. Yeah, I just got my pre-check. I'm just gonna say, hey! No, because you ain't gotta take your laptop out still. So that makes it still worth it. But after 20 years, TSA decided that you no longer
Starting point is 02:01:34 have to take shoes off. It's a very secret memo that kind of got out. You know what I mean? They didn't make a public announcement, but inside they decided that that was a thing. And the truth is it was always bullshit. It was always stupid. It wasn't always bullshit. It wasn't always bullshit. No, it wasn't. It wasn't always bullshit.
Starting point is 02:01:46 Nigga had a sneaker bomb. A few of them snuck through with the sneaker joint. Yeah, nigga had a sneaker bomb. So it wasn't always bullshit, but as technology has advanced. That's fair. They have other ways to determine if you have the bomb.
Starting point is 02:01:56 If you have the shoe bomber. Yeah. We don't have to take off my, like, come on. Walk all over that dirty ass floor. No sock, because the no sock trend happened a few years ago pre pandemic or around there. We just barefoot in there now on a dirty ass floor when you gotta take your shoe off.
Starting point is 02:02:12 Oh, I hate it. And everybody's mad slow. Yo. Taking their shit off and putting it back on. That's how I hold my socks. The airport, when you pass TSA is what let me know that many Americans are slow. The shit where the tray.
Starting point is 02:02:28 The conveyor belt. No, the trays. Yeah, they don't put them back. No, they don't know what's happening even with the person standing there telling them exactly what to do. Hey, yo, when this gets empty, come up, put your shit up, put the tray back. Now the line is mad long cuz you niggas are slow and stupid. These days are open. Yeah, they mad open because you niggas is slow and stupid. These bays are open.
Starting point is 02:02:45 Yeah, they mad open. The niggas are yelling the same script. That's when I jumped. While you're in the line, before you get to the bays, when you turn the corner, the niggas done said the same shit 17 times and you get up there and be like. Don't say nothing, Becky and them be standing right there, I jump all the way from Starbucks to the empty bucket slot hole.
Starting point is 02:03:07 Yo. Who the fuck is LeBekki talking about nigga? Anyway. So they don't put you through the VIP line? In the airport? No. I don't do that. I'm a man of the people Mark.
Starting point is 02:03:17 You should be. I'm in the line. I'm with the people. I'm with the people. You say he ride spirit. I'm not. Nah I'm not with those people. I do spirit, frontier, whatever man. Oh nah I'm not with those people. I do spirit, frontier, whatever. Oh no, I'm not with those people.
Starting point is 02:03:25 No, J.J. Nope, nope, nope, you win. You win the people battle. The people are awful. Hey, again, our topic on the board. When is it okay to judge a book by its cover? I knew that that new Kenyan lady was going to ruin Essence Fest.
Starting point is 02:03:41 Uh, I think that on the train is a good time to judge people by their cover. Great time. Great time. Maggot hat. And what was me and Mark just talking about? Because that's why I thought about it. The air around the...
Starting point is 02:03:52 Spirit. Oh, and on Spirit and Frontier. As I'm walking to my fancy gate, I'm judging all you niggas going to Arkansas. I'm looking at the screen to see where you going to know I do that I look at the gate I don't look at Arkansas niggas while in Yes, yeah I don't see no spirit game either. Yeah, what terminal is that? When you get your ticket to all of them chips in Newark
Starting point is 02:04:22 No, you don't do spirit either. No, he's saying he don't even see it. The Holy Spirit. I don't see those. I'm dead. I don't think yellow fucking you know, we're in the spirit colors, nigga. You spirit. You know, I don't see it on spirit gate and Newark airport. How often do you fly to a lot?
Starting point is 02:04:38 Do you fly a lot? I don't even feel like doing it. Yes, I fly pretty. That's it. That's all I got. Yeah, I don't. Maybe United just got their own shit down truth. Yeah, it's a flop pretty right there. That's it, that's all I got, bro. But yeah, I don't, maybe United just got their own shit down there. And you know Newark is a hub for United. I pretty much, I do United and Newark more
Starting point is 02:04:52 just because that's where all the flights at. And you don't see a Spirit Gate. There's a Spirit Gate somewhere though, but I usually take Spirit out of Philly. That's why. I think it's B. Oh, see I wouldn't know. Oh yeah, I'm never in B.
Starting point is 02:05:01 There you go, I wouldn't know. In Newark, if you looked to the left and you'd be like, oh thank God my ticket's not over there. It's normally Spirit. Yeah, it ain't the Air Tram, it's wouldn't know. In Newark, if you looked to the left and you'd be like, oh, thank God my ticket's not over there. It's no only Spirit. Yeah, it ain't the Air Tram, it's some cabs. What a railing. Just some cabs running down the railings. I didn't know.
Starting point is 02:05:14 It was Value Jet. You got me. The ticket was $39.99. What's your favorite airport in America? Ooh. LaGuardia. LaGuardia is fire. I'm not going to lie, I stand corrected. Being you had a little LaGuardia beef. LaGuardia changed.
Starting point is 02:05:32 That shit is fire. I tried to tell you. LaGuardia ain't your old school LaGuardia. And I'd say neither is Kennedy, but I ain't trying to make out. New York airport spent that taxpayer money. And them shit is fire. JFK is up there. The issues when you live in New York when I lived in your I hate I got this the one of the best they're both eat at the palm. Yes
Starting point is 02:05:56 LaGuardia I It's alright. I accept your father. No that shit is alright now that shit used to be 90 years I hated that she's parties be trash I always love the guard X is right by me and that and that North Terminal a fire is that the one with the diamond she's got a diamond everything I hate Atlanta what makes the airport good that's the quote what makes it One of the fucking worst Atlanta no Dallas Fort Worth How it's constructed if I have to take a train to get to my thing like Atlanta where you got you get through it You still got you hold the gates because you don't want to have to go all the way to F
Starting point is 02:06:38 You gotta ride a subway wait five minutes Atlanta Atlanta's term Detroit even though I like Detroit, but any of those that are that big. Yeah, it was too big. Dallas Fort Worth, you guys, Dallas Fort Worth is your fault because you're supposed to use the other one that the government owns. The one that the government owns that's over here. So it's a nice, smooth, smooth and tiny.
Starting point is 02:06:59 I don't know which one that is in Dallas. It's two airports. There's the Bush one and then there's the... No, you guys are thinking about Houston. That's Houston. No, no, no, no, no. No, Dallas has two. Dallas in Dallas. It's two airports. There's the Bush one and then there's the... No, you guys are thinking about Houston. That's Houston. No, no, no, no, no. No, Dallas has two. Dallas has two for sure.
Starting point is 02:07:08 Dallas has two for sure. Two airports. I don't know, I ain't been to Dallas. Okay, also I'll say O'Hare. I can't stand O'Hare. Chicago? Chicago, O'Hare. That shit is big as fuck too.
Starting point is 02:07:16 It's fucking big. What about Orlando? You're missing your connection. What about Orlando? I don't go to that one that often enough to have an opinion on it. It's been a while since I've been to O'Hare. It's fine, but again, you gotta,
Starting point is 02:07:23 if I remember correctly, you had to take a train to get to the... Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm talking about. I don't want nothing where I gotta ride to have an opinion. It's fine. But again, you gotta remember quickly You had to take a train to get yeah I don't want nothing where I gotta ride a train to get to the next thing I actually find LAX to be much more manageable. I like landing in it like when it's manageable. I like it I like landing in Boston just cuz it's this big. Yes. I like the small ships small small joints Sump to South Carolina when I fly over there. I like that one. It's another real small. Oh, Wyoming. The vineyard, Martha's vineyard, the Wyoming airport. Oh my God. It's fire. Yes. Martha's vegan. When is that little ass play you got to take to get from Boston to the vineyard. It's terrified. I hate that. I like the summer. It's lovefield.
Starting point is 02:07:55 That's the one you're talking about. The Dallas. Yes. Lovefield. Yeah. Privately owned. That's different. All the, all the who Danny's over there. That's the one you be a For work, but I don't know only been down a couple times anyway What else We got You're cleaning up next time you're cleaning up by Friday. I've been watching I've been watching My girl Angel Reese and social media has been tagging all y'all. I guess they saying that y'all were Angel Reese haters.
Starting point is 02:08:25 I'm not saying y'all are Angel Reese haters, I'm just saying that they've been tagging y'all because Angel Reese been lighting up the WNBA right now. Just she has set a streak, she's got another 15 rebound game. I think it's five in a row, some shit, like she's breaking all the records. She's doing great, she's doing great.
Starting point is 02:08:39 Let me let the audience know that facts don't change hate for me. Like if I'm hating, and I didn't agree to that but if I am the facts ain't gonna change it I'm just hating. Might make me double down. Yeah I might stand strong and she start doing good. I've been Angel Reese Hive from day one. I love her I'm happy for her.
Starting point is 02:09:00 She's cooking right now. They lost on me. I don't give a fuck about them. But they played Minnesota on Sunday It was a great a great game and I went down to the end angel actually hit a big shot They still lost but she's just on fire man. Also Zion Williamson What's going on? We Zion Williamson appears to be in a gang now pictures have been circulating online of him wearing
Starting point is 02:09:21 Purple bandanas and throwing up signs that I don't know of him wearing purple bandanas and throwing up signs that I don't know, but I did applaud because he did need some protection from that Mariah Mills lady. Like she was just having her way, so let me go get with fucking. You gotta get protection. I'm calling big you somebody, somebody.
Starting point is 02:09:40 What's the purple? What's the purple? Yeah, thank you, I was purple, what is it? Oh, y'all want us to get indicted? I don't know. Okay, all right. Why would you need to know? He also asked.
Starting point is 02:09:50 He's a nigga with a dick. Okay, well what the fuck does that have to do with the price of rice in fucking China? He could join that game. She could? I think I could do. Bob Melon tied up, up tied up fucking head. She come over here, talk about some great streets, some shit.
Starting point is 02:10:04 I like wine. Yeah, she be over there going. She be in the gang. She be the whole gang lit, lit up. Like she be why they become vulnerable. Anyway, it's crazy. Anyway, moving right along. What else, what else, what else?
Starting point is 02:10:23 Which I think they came out and said that they closed the Epstein investigation. Yeah, because there's no lists. It was open before. That was a load off. There was no list. And they put the video out saying that no one entered. He did commit suicide.
Starting point is 02:10:38 So. We'll fold that up right now. Right. Exactly. So the questions that are now coming up is like, so why is Ghislaine Maxwell in jail for 20 years for sex trafficking if there was nobody to sex traffic? And he killed himself because why?
Starting point is 02:10:56 He just was having a bad day. Case of the blues. Case of the blues. So Ghislaine's zillion dollar lawyer is saying, let me up out of here, OK? Oh, yeah, they got Oh yeah, they gotta be. I would be. She probably home.
Starting point is 02:11:09 This is talk about like. There are certain like conspiracies that like we all debate and argue. This feels like the least debatable conspiracy in the history of conspiracies. You know what I'm saying? Like I don't know anybody that doesn't believe that this Epstein thing was a hit job. I don't know anybody that doesn't believe that the government conspired on it. I mean like I don't know anybody that doesn't believe that this Epstein thing was a hit job I don't know anybody that doesn't believe
Starting point is 02:11:27 that the government conspired on it I mean I don't know anybody it's just it's so obvious to me. It's Epstein I still think they killed Sandra Bland. It don't take much to get me on. You ever been to St. The island? No. Go ahead over there. Today. No. When you go. What the heck? When you go. Hard pass.
Starting point is 02:11:50 No, I'm saying when you get close to the island, them niggas come outside. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Fuck y'all doing? Pardon me, Playboy, you got it. Did you have to show ID to get in? I never been, asshole. You talking like you was there.
Starting point is 02:12:03 No, you don't date, you can't. And I feel like what he's saying is just island rules. No, it's not. It's not. If somebody own an island, I want niggas with rifles outside in case people approach. When you go to any other island, you got met with rifles?
Starting point is 02:12:16 Does one person own the island? It's nigga. When I was in whatever town there was and the driver said, that's Prince Island right there. I think I've seen a nigga with guns standing outside. Like you can't just walk up on to my island. They own it Okay, you got it Listen to your point if strange things with women were happening over there. I want security here, too But still to this day. This was just confirmation to me that
Starting point is 02:12:42 Trump name was on the list. Oh, yeah This was just confirmation to me that Trump name was on the list. Oh yeah, I like how they try to pass it off like he didn't have a list like he probably just have like a piece of paper with all of his clients names right now. They're into his phone, but the government has a list for sure. Yeah, and he had a list. They got the manifest from the flights that was taken there, right all that shit like What we talking about? Yeah money talks hockey bullshit
Starting point is 02:13:11 They ran up in that little 97th Street. Oh That look that big-ass little museum looking cream on 97th Street. They got all the goods right out the safe I seen this doc they got it. It was it it was in there. They went in there a couple of times That's when they locked a bio. Hey that when they did that sweep, they found something, y'all. The fuck is going on out here? Guess where the sweep went back? Right back in the cracks. Get that right back over there. Sweep that shit right back.
Starting point is 02:13:38 Too much money. Well, in America, they ain't ever going to be able to give a fuck about girls. They ain't ever go there in America about girls. No matter how old, no matter what age, no matter what color. about girls, they never go here in America about girls. No matter how old, no matter what age, no matter what color. They're gonna care less about the morality of billionaires. Nobody gives a fuck.
Starting point is 02:13:53 Yeah. There you go. They knowin' good and goddamn well they killed Jeffrey Epstein. Mm-hmm. Duh. But why they think we so dumb? Well, cause niggas is dumb.
Starting point is 02:14:03 This one don't even feel like they think we dumb. This is almost just feel like they saying fuck this. So? They are saying so. I don't care what you don't. Sometimes it's not you dumb. Sometimes it's nothing you can do about it. You can't do nothing.
Starting point is 02:14:13 This feels like the bug. This is what we telling you. The cameras went down, and now they're releasing the camera footage. Right. You lying. Yeah. They released it at 10 hours.
Starting point is 02:14:22 The excuse at the time was the cameras went down so we can't tell what happened. Yeah, I remember. And now they put out the camera for me. And this day and age of AI, nope. Yeah, come on, fam. No. And also it's a jail, so it'd be the same shit
Starting point is 02:14:34 all day, every day. You could just pick a different day and change the date. Like. Yeah. It's not like, oh, that Tuesday I was definitely wearing my cop uniform and sitting at the desk outside of the jail cell. Look, at 1209.
Starting point is 02:14:46 It was 1209 yesterday too. Right. They paint the walls and then. We'll fold that up right now. Don't look away now, pussy. Don't look away, don't look away now, pussy. You just can't take this seriously. I'm sorry, bro.
Starting point is 02:15:06 We'll fold that up. Do we, we wanna talk about this Meg Thee Stallion. Meg Thee Stallion in Rock Nation dragged back into court after a federal judge refused to toss out the lawsuit from her former cameraman, Emilio Garcia, who says while on a European tour, she forced him to watch her have sex with another woman inside of a moving SUV, fat shamed him,
Starting point is 02:15:31 cut his hours in pay, and eventually fired him. He also claims he was blackballed from working anywhere else in the industry. Y'all niggas gotta stop that blackball shit. Nigga, nobody knew you. Niggas wasn't just blowing your phone up after this. Sorry. Claims he was a black boy from the industry Emilio says Megan only felt comfortable doing which I'm not I'm not doing this with me
Starting point is 02:15:51 I'm I know we in this era where you just both decide with the victim. I'm not fucking with him Sorry, yeah He's also saying it because he's gay if I understand it correctly That this that he was being targeted for his sexual identity that she wouldn't have had this alleged sex with another woman in front Of a heterosexual male That is a reverse oto card so wait she target she had sex with another woman in front of him because he was gay Judge woods alleges that Garcia who is, plausibly pleads that the alleged sexual encounter in the SUV in Ibiza created a hostile work environment based on plaintiffs sexual
Starting point is 02:16:32 orientation. Oh no. I gotta watch this. Plaintiff asked the court to draw the inference that Pete would not have engaged in group sex with other women in front of a heterosexual male. That Pete felt comfortable engaging in group sex with other women in front of plaintiffsosexual male that Pete felt comfortable engaging in group sex with other women in front of plaintiffs because of plaintiffs' sexuality and gender.
Starting point is 02:16:48 I agree with him. I agree with him. Stop it. Here you go with some bullshit. Go ahead, get your shit off me. Let me think about that. I agree with him. Y'all are wrong, man.
Starting point is 02:16:57 If you agree with him, you're wrong. The heterosexual nigga might've been a participant. And that's why she felt comfortable having sex with the girl without Because he's not tripping, he don't care. Because he don't give a fuck. Well, that means that it starts before that night in question. I, as in I'm her, I have gay people around me. Okay.
Starting point is 02:17:17 I hang out with gay people. I'm friends with more gay people than I am heterosexual people because I feel more comfortable around gay people. Okay. That's not just for her. that's for many women today. It's still don't negate what he's saying. He's saying if it would have been a dude. He's saying you wouldn't have jumped off.
Starting point is 02:17:32 It wouldn't have been a dude. Let me finish. But my comprehension is great, so I know what you saying she said. My response to that is, if I'm her, it wouldn't have ever been a straight dude. I'm not fucking in front of you because you're gay. I'm hanging around you during,
Starting point is 02:17:52 I'm comfortable with having you around for everything because you're gay. It's not I'm doing the fucking because you're gay. Cool. So, both things can be true. Well, if one is true, then the other can't be true to me. I get what you're saying. To me. What Joe said is, if he is true, then the other can't be true to me. To me. I get what you're saying. To me.
Starting point is 02:18:06 What Joe's saying is, if he were speaking for Megan, Megan would be saying, I'm not, this has nothing to do with your sexuality. It's just that you're my friend. It just so happens that all my friends. That's not what he just said. That is what I just heard him say. That's what I just heard him say. He said, yo, I'm hanging around you because you gay.
Starting point is 02:18:19 Right. Yes. Same shit, different pile. Right. All my friends are gay. The sex that I'm having is not because I see you're gay, it's because you're my friend and I trust you. It would be like, all my friends are black, right? If I was to do something in here right now,
Starting point is 02:18:30 in front of you, it's not because you're black, it's because you're my friend. You get what I'm saying? I told you a secret just more than hypothetically, right? I didn't tell you because you black, I told you because you're my friend. It just so happens all my friends are black and I made you my friend because you're black.
Starting point is 02:18:41 That's what she said. And that's totally different from this scamming ass nigga. Or why can't it just be, yo, I'm a wild girl, I'm having fun. If it was a nigga here, I'd have popped off. The reason why I'm just having sex with this girl is because you ain't into this. And that's what the plaintiff said.
Starting point is 02:18:56 I'm not saying who's right, I'm just saying, those are two different good arguments. Straight nigga could have joined us, I should have been with it. But the person that says that, I'm saying would be wrong for saying that because you are assuming that she would have fucked you if you were straight, and that's not true.
Starting point is 02:19:13 So let's stop with the podcast shenanigans. That's not what I'm saying. If we are in, where they was at, Ibiza? Ibiza. Huh? Ibiza. But that's like Ibiza, that's what people call it. It's Ibiza, but yes. I'm geographically challenged, so please tell me what it is. Ibiza, it's what people call it. It's Ibiza, but yes.
Starting point is 02:19:25 I'm geographically challenged, so please tell me what it is. Ibiza, it's in Spain. OK, I don't care about what the cool kids say. That's another factor here. You and Ibiza on a highway with a girl in the car that you wouldn't mind fucking. Maybe you fucked before, or maybe in this moment, you finding out that you could fuck.
Starting point is 02:19:44 Your cameraman is there because we in Ibiza and every artist has the cameraman right there and when we start doing some shit in here I am gonna tap the person hired to record me and say record now or not that's weird I didn't get that's the part I can't rock with oh you wouldn't be around you fired see and that's why I understand her fire if I asked you to record some shat I asked you to take part in this ain't the puff shit yeah I didn't ask you to participate I asked you to hit record because some shit is happening in a car yo maybe I'm talking to the people to South Jersey before and
Starting point is 02:20:23 the girl just start sucking your dick, unexpected head. You would like the person in the backseat to get a pick. I'm just saying this is just a legal view, they work for you. Wait, hold on a second. I wanna see how you feel about what Homeboys says. Poe is like, wait a minute,
Starting point is 02:20:38 no, this stuff, don't go to Spain with me. What are you talking about? See, no, but that's what happens too much up here. Stop for a minute. Yes. What I'm saying sounds foreign and stupid to people that are just unfamiliar with
Starting point is 02:20:54 randomly getting sex in a car with people. But if you had sex in a car with not just the person that you have sex with, then yes, jokes are flying. Phones are out. Like I sound like I'm saying something foreign,
Starting point is 02:21:10 but I ain't. It's different though. You right. Now there may be laws against it. But look, you're right. Jokes will be flying, phones will be out. Nigga Gloria, but oh. Hold on.
Starting point is 02:21:21 Telling him to do that as our employee is where it's a problem. That's the only thing I'm talking about, the employee part. I really want to have a male stance. In the eyes of the law, well, after I finish arguing with him, in the eyes of the law, I'm not arguing with y'all. I'm arguing culture rules versus the law
Starting point is 02:21:37 like I usually do in some of these instances. Okay. In the eyes of the law, she's wrong. Then you got, I'm saying, if you go for the culture piece, then you gotta expect, you gotta roll the dice at your employee. If they ain't with it, it's gonna sue you. Yo, how many, let me ask you something.
Starting point is 02:21:52 How many in-depth contracts do you think exists between the little camera guy that follows behind these artists? Almost zero. And the artists? Almost zero. Almost zero. Wouldn't you assume that there's a lot of gray area there? A lot.
Starting point is 02:22:06 The artist is always saying. That's a little gray to me though. No, it's gray, because the artist is saying, tape everything. All the artist is saying is tape it all. That's it. No matter what, if a fight break out, tape it. If bitches start kissing over the air, tape it.
Starting point is 02:22:21 Anything that happens, you gotta tape it. And that's our confidential relationship. It's almost like the relationship between the artist and the personal assistant. You are going to be privy to some things in your job that are not conventional. That's what I'm saying. So what it sounds like and I wasn't here, I don't know, I'm just freestyling. What it sounds like is we out of town is high and heavy We start fucking somebody that was there that was supposed to take the whole night anyway Don't not tape now. I've asked Erickson if he was down and take some shit before
Starting point is 02:22:54 Like it's a conversation that you have is all I'm saying right, but you said a conversation that sounds different than I know that Need to do That sounds different than I know that I'm talking about informal rules. It's certain shit. Just like if I was your cameraman and And you started doing a line of coke or you started doing heroin Your are implicit rule might be marked on tape this shit. That's off. That's that. I don't want that taped I would assume that would be the same thing for me having sex with somebody Particularly girl on gore action in the car the same thing for me having sex with somebody, particularly girl on girl action in a car. Unless you're into it.
Starting point is 02:23:24 Unless you tell me otherwise. Unless I ask you to, which we're learning that people are into some other things sexually. This is where I disagree with your point that you just said. In this talk that we're having, yes, you would always have that conversation. In real life, no you wouldn't. In real life, there's a thing where this is in the moment,
Starting point is 02:23:44 instantaneous, spontaneous. It's almost like you thing where this is in the moment, instantaneous, spontaneous. It's almost like you doing a song in the studio and I'm an artist and I came to your studio and now we jamming on the track. Yeah, we should have a talk right now about splits and percentages. We're not gonna do that. We're not gonna do that.
Starting point is 02:23:59 There is no chance that that will happen right here unless something else goes down. I'm with you. It's the same exact thing with the camera guy that you hired to tape everything. You don't know what he's allergic to. You don't know what is going to make him call the police. You don't know. And you maybe not even won't even know all the laws.
Starting point is 02:24:20 You might not know that you can't get the fucking in front of this person. That's some terrible. Yeah, I have to I disagree, but I hear what you're saying. But if you were about to ask another question. No, I just wanted to see where her stance. Oh, no, it's on gender war time. Come on. You know, so that no, I need that right now. No, I just don't. I just don't see how I just don't see how we say discernment should be paramount on the artist and the business owner and all of those things When it comes to certain stuff then that same level of discernment that same level is a power dynamic here And you know we talk about often when it comes to certain demos. It's a power. That's why he's right That's why the guy's right
Starting point is 02:24:56 I'm on a pod arguing the other side, but ultimately the guy is right legally. Yeah, yeah legally Right assuming this even happen right? But if this happened you can't do that in front of me. I'm uncomfortable at work. I don't want to do this I don't have the opportunity to tell you they're forcing me to take this Yeah, you forced me to watch you. Oh Watch Meg fuck a girl Oh Oh
Starting point is 02:25:32 Homeboy might not have looked at it like we would look at it. Well, yeah, he's good When I think he's gay, he just doesn't like taping people fucking I think that he might just got fired for something else We pull this I think that's only possible I could tell you parts is wrong. I could tell you that's totally possible too. I don't know who's telling the truth here. Oh, I can tell you, Parks is wrong. I can tell you that's wrong. Why? Because if I asked you to hit record when I'm fucking and you didn't, you'd get fired. You didn't capture those moments?
Starting point is 02:25:53 You are fired because of that. Because of that right there. I took you to Ibiza. Wait, and I took you to some niggas with money into that. You are getting sued. If I take one of y'all to Ibiza and I start fucking in front of y'all, hit the record without me having to ask bitch ass niggas, how about that? Nobody gets sued if I take it one of y'all to Ibiza and I start fucking in front of y'all hit the record without me having ass bitch ass niggas how about that nobody get sued I have to say no you
Starting point is 02:26:09 just knew what time away is your friend if I'm fucking in Ibiza yo the last thing I want one of y'all do is pull out the camera shit am I fucking good I'm not shit moving. Hold on, hold on, hold on. My back's still hitting me. Yo, we single? It's different. And it's hypothetical. Hypothetically, if I'm single, and we on an island, I'm fucking...
Starting point is 02:26:34 I don't want you to just hit the camera without conversation. Camera. I'm over there getting my own... These aren't hypotheticals. One of y'all start fucking your wife in front of me. Hey! What the fuck are y'all talking about? What the fuck are y'all start fucking your wife in front of me? Hey! You crazy! What the fuck are y'all talking about? He was fucking...
Starting point is 02:26:46 What the fuck are y'all talking about? You turning into Scorsese? Here come the broods! Oh, if I'm single and you lick me in here... You're taking this pot-wired shit too far. Right, right, right. I'm telling you, that's that... All right, all right.
Starting point is 02:26:59 Keep your dick in your pants. What's that cunt shit? Whatever that shit. That's what you better do. Go fuck in the bedroom. Like an adult. And he'll be at the door. And don't miss him by the door leaving, nigga That's what you better do. Go fuck in your bedroom, like an adult. And he'll be at the door. Don't miss him by the door, neither, nigga.
Starting point is 02:27:07 Oh, he's gonna be at the door. He's gonna be at the door. Did Ice come with us to Costa Rica? No. I'm not trying to record none of you niggas fucking. Next trip, next trip for you. At only the campground. I'm not trying to either,
Starting point is 02:27:17 but if we out and one of y'all begin around me, you recording, I'm taping it for the archives. Why? Yo. Cause why would you do that in front of me? That's your man. That's your man. You know what I mean, you got footage of you
Starting point is 02:27:33 that you don't know about. Yeah. No you don't. Yes you do. Yes you do. You ain't got no footage of him. He ain't, he don't fuck in front of niggas. This dick ain't like that.
Starting point is 02:27:41 You don't want me to? This dick ain't like that. Hey don't want me to? This dick ain't got money for another room no All right, do they got a double belly no No, bitch, I like to make a way for us What he want you stop looking? Stop yo, don't look over here. Yo, my niggas four of them Niggas know what I do when it grows Know what I do when it grows once it grows
Starting point is 02:28:42 Oh Got three more to pick nigga pick out of the three no you can Think of being a corner. Oh tongue kissing Well one yeah, yeah, that's what he do share. He's talking bitches next 20 years. Shut up So you could you could I don't want to talk to that. I'm fucking out of here. I know. Anyways, man, Meg, Meg, I empathize with you.
Starting point is 02:29:10 I don't fuck with you at all, but I'm on your side in this. I know how to be objective when it comes to people I don't fuck with. Meg, this is bullshit, and Emilio Cagol, you should have been fired that nigga. See, that need to be a thing too. Even though they killed Rick Ross
Starting point is 02:29:25 for his breakfast club interview where he was like, I'm not hiring no girls cause I'm gonna fuck y'all. They killed him like, oh my God, why you objectified? Why you can't just hire? That's honest. Why? Niggas can't put a buck. Hey. Nope.
Starting point is 02:29:46 See I'm with having different rules to the work place. Not here, because don't try it. But I'm just saying. If I was stealing music, I ain't hiring no cameraman that is allergic to some spontaneous shit happening is all I'm saying. That's it. But peace to Meg, peace to Emilio,
Starting point is 02:30:06 peace to whoever Meg was fucking in here. Meg is a little fat. That bitch. That bitch. That bitch. That bitch. And Beezie, that Beezie be in time. That ain't no fucking easy.
Starting point is 02:30:17 That's a bitch. Shit be in the air out there. That be a little nice, huh? It's okay. That girl right there, boy, that's my girl. Couple shots. Anyway. Little, little hot self. They girl. Couple of shards. Anyway. Not even?
Starting point is 02:30:25 Little hot self. They got different hookah over there. Um, what else? What else needs our attention? Do we need to give therapy to Naomi Osaka? What happened? She did a press conference and- She lost at Wimbledon sooner than we're used to her losing.
Starting point is 02:30:41 Oh, okay. And in that press conference, I'll find it, she said, no, I ain't going to front. When I'm breaking a story, I want you to sit with Ericsson. Like, I don't like it. I don't want you to be jumping on my shit. And I'm not over that straw review. I'm not over it, I'm just trying to be honest. Play it, go ahead.
Starting point is 02:31:00 Negative human being today, I'm so sorry. I'm just going to be a negative human being today, I'm so sorry. Like, I'm just gonna be a negative human being today. I'm so sorry. Like, I have nothing positive to say about myself, which is something I'm working on, I think. Yeah, I mean, it was my daughter's birthday, so I was happy about that this week, but other than that, it's just today,
Starting point is 02:31:24 I'm just constantly replaying the match now. I'm just gonna be a negative. No job button. That is the clip. Is she saying I have nothing positive to say about my performance? She said about herself. About herself.
Starting point is 02:31:40 No, no, about herself and her existence. Is she mean? No, no, no. Yeah, then. So yeah, she definitely said about herself. And then the clip went around and then she went on threads. I was trying to find the threads. She went on threads and basically a couple of days later, it was like, bro, why is everybody,
Starting point is 02:31:57 like why they keep clipping this up whenever I have a bad moment? Why are they trying to paint a narrative of me as like always being sad? Well, I mean, she, a lot of people were very sympathetic about, you know, after they watched this, and also because she stepped away from the game very publicly and stated the reason was
Starting point is 02:32:14 her mental health was affected. So when you come back and this loss seems to be so dramatic that you say, I have nothing good to say about myself, not even just your performance, yourself. That's alarming. Exactly. People were really alarmed.
Starting point is 02:32:29 But wasn't it right after the match? Yeah, but I mean- I'm taking it like she means performance. That's what I mean. Only because she said, I keep replaying the match. I keep replaying the match in my head. That's what I'm thinking about. I think that when you take both things at the same time, when you think about the time
Starting point is 02:32:44 that she stepped away from the game speaking about her mental health and these are the choice of words people were very very concerned about her. That's just an alarming choice of words whether she was talking about the match or not. You don't hear people immediately after a game say I have nothing positive to say about myself as a whole which is how this is interpreted. Yeah I didn't take it like that. I thought she was talking about the match and if you interview like a great competitor let's say Kobe and Kobe played like shit and he lost. I don't got nothing good to say. I can hear Kobe saying yo it's
Starting point is 02:33:16 no bright spots it I don't have nothing positive to say like. Okay well that's a false parallel because they're bringing, where they're bringing this conversation to is young female athletes who start families or have children in the height of their prime, in the prime of their career, maybe who weren't ready and were, and I can't speak for Cordae, I would never use a friend to the show,
Starting point is 02:33:41 but what the conversation is becoming is women being convinced to have these start these families while their careers popping. So I would say that is the difference between the Kobe shit. It could be. I don't know. I think this is too sensitive for me. Yeah, I just want to add one other piece to her comment. Just I'm gonna read it exactly because she is sort of saying that she was only sad about the match because what she said is she said, bro, why is it every time I do a press conference after a loss, the ESPNs and blogs got to clip match because what she said is, she said, bro, why is it every time I do a press conference after a loss, the ESPNs and blogs gotta clip it up
Starting point is 02:34:08 and put it up. She said, WTF, why don't they clip my press conferences after I win? Like why push it out of them always sad? So she was trying to say basically, she was just interviewing them. Like I said, my problem's about a loss. And again, some of the great competitors,
Starting point is 02:34:19 they don't be wanting to talk. Yeah. They make them talk. They make them talk. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like I don't want to come up here and be Kiki and or I don't want to talk to you motherfuckers period We just got swept. Don't ask me how I feel. Well, then she should learn how to talk in interviews post-lost
Starting point is 02:34:33 And also you can't guilt people for caring about you You leave because of mental health People are gonna put you in a different microscope now. Exactly. And that's why I think to your point, like she should say, like hey, I actually, when I feel like this, when I lose like this, I don't have anything positive to say. I don't have anything good to say after getting my ass kicked.
Starting point is 02:34:55 Or whatever. Then no one's, this isn't even a story. But when you take out the competitive part of you, you just say like, yo, I just feel so bad about, because I agree with y'all, I mean, lots of athletes, especially male athletes feel exactly like this but they haven't been we haven't thought about them as suicidal mm-hmm right you know what I mean we haven't thought about them as having
Starting point is 02:35:12 mental health issues when she's already like you said led with that oh yeah I'm going about a pregnant yeah right so there's a lot of other factors here I'm just glad she's okay and I hope that this is just about the loss. And I hope that- As she said, yo fam, I lost. Why y'all bringing this up? We hope she's not lying. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 02:35:32 I'm hoping that this isn't a cover for how she, yeah. I hope that really is just about the loss, because I love a good competitor. I love somebody who takes losses that soon. I have a question for you guys about that. I do see like a lot of people criticize post interviews and tell people that they should speak a certain way. What was the football player that used to not want to speak? Like is that a thing that's in their contract? Are you contractually obligated
Starting point is 02:35:53 to speak? Yes. Okay. His quote used to be, yo, I'm just here so I don't get fined. Got it. So you get fined. So you cannot sit there and not talk. Yeah. And you can't not show up. Like literally, he went to one of the press conferences and that's all he said to every question.
Starting point is 02:36:07 More than one. He used to say, yo, I'm just here so I don't get fined. And that's part of being a professional. Do you think that should still be in the contract? Yes. Do you think that people should, if they take a loss, they shouldn't just go home and sit within themselves? No, I think they should be able to.
Starting point is 02:36:20 Should you bring the world into your feelings? Yo, you asking for somebody to control a lot of emotions in the moment because then you fuck around and say the wrong thing in that press conference, they're going to chew your ass up. So you're asking for, and right in the moment, it ain't like this is tomorrow and I had some time to cool off.
Starting point is 02:36:36 I just lost by a bullshit called by a ref or some fuck shit happened, they should have called this. We lost, we out the playoffs, now I got to come and sit to y'all and ask me, hey, what would you have done different in for third quarter? I'll get the fuck out my face Same way we talk about this some of this shit comes with the gig up here in terms of people being on your ass and Social media so forth that shit You're making 40 30 50 million dollars a year. Yeah, you're going to ask the answers
Starting point is 02:37:02 How do you feel about the law because because the part where you work through that part of why you make the money is because of the TV deal and T part of the TV deals is the imposed game press conference. Part of it is engaged in the fans. The fans want to know how you feel after the laws, not just after you win. I get it. I get that it sucks, but right after that's all I'm saying. Yes, press conference tomorrow morning. That's no, excuse me. Who's watching the game after the game I want to know Monday morning and when you watch the NBA finals at the Super Bowl you don't want I don't want here with Monday morning y'all promise y'all we don't have to debate
Starting point is 02:37:34 we want to hear the speech when we hear the speech we don't want to wait to the morning sports content is as important as the sport itself damn near and we see that now based on the money that they get. Yeah. Yeah, in the morning I want to hear what we think about what we heard. What Stephen A. Smith thinks. No, what we, I don't, fuck him. We, us, nigga, fuck these other niggas.
Starting point is 02:37:55 I want to hear us, I ain't big enough to know my own. Anyway. And not fuck Stephen A. Smith, but you know what I'm saying. And shout out to Max Kellerman, back for the boxing match. Yeah. Back for the boxing match, I've been asking where's Max? They found him, go Max. Yo, I you know what I'm saying. And shout out to Max Kellerman, back for the boxing match. Yeah. Back for the boxing match. I've been asking where's Max. They found him, go Max.
Starting point is 02:38:08 Yo, I love when he talks about boxing. Nah, that's his thing. I love Max. That's his real bad. I love him, period, but yeah, boxing. He gets it. He knows, I love watching, it's like watching Joe Rogan do like UFC.
Starting point is 02:38:18 I love watching Max Kellerman do boxing, yo. They just, watching experts talk about expert shit is just dope. I agree. Yeah. I agree. Yeah. I agree. We've been talking about the weekend earlier and so what we did but one of the things that stuck with me was the shooting in Philadelphia. Yikes. I don't know if y'all heard about it but I'm so tired. Saw it, heard about it. Is that the one on the ring camera? Yes. Grace Ferry mass shooting three people
Starting point is 02:38:44 ended up dead. One of the people, and obviously condolences to the families of all the victims, but I was really struck by this one story of Azir Harris. This is a young man who was a victim of gun violence before he was shot. It became wheelchair bound at 17. He bounced back, you know, got his back you know got his life you know seemed to have gotten his life together. He became an advocate for gun violence. He became an advocate right you know trying to fight gun violence trying to
Starting point is 02:39:13 you know bring community together and here he is you know he gets shot again and is killed. His baby mom got shot too. Yeah I mean this is I can't even imagine as his father his father's been talking to me a little bit You know I can't imagine the pain he's going through or any all of his family's going through Yeah, but it's just one of those stories so absurd. I mean idea that that could happen to somebody twice
Starting point is 02:39:33 And you know ideas if you don't do nothing you ain't got nothing to worry about if you if you're not Committing crimes you got a ways to control it all that's now like These there's a Mona was up here talking about how crime in Philly and the shootouts is like up. Yeah. Recently. There has been a topic of conversation. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:39:53 I'm not familiar enough to chime in on it, but they've been wilding out there. It's getting bad. It's one of the reasons I left. I watched that video, bro. I watched it. Y'all never get sick of that? Yeah. And I want to hear from y'all.
Starting point is 02:40:03 Yes. I don't really watch that shit. I usually don't. That shit is terrifying. I can't. Y'all never get sick of that. Yeah. And I want to hear from you. Yes. I don't really watch that shit. I usually don't. That shit is terrifying. I can't, usually I don't even,
Starting point is 02:40:11 that shit just kept, I kept seeing it, so I just watched it, but I immediately regret watching that shit. Yeah, I saw it, I didn't know what I was about to watch. Like, I saw it. The reckless nature in which they were shooting, and the careless nature, like yo, I don't care if I get, they was just standing up.
Starting point is 02:40:28 It looked like you was watching some shit on John Wick. The gun, the switch is, the gun was just going like this, yo, in the dude's hand, like, the shit was shooting so rapidly, he couldn't even really control it. Then the people was just shooting over their head. You know how in like, cop movies, they'll just shoot, yeah, and just shoot up in the air to get the people.
Starting point is 02:40:46 Bro, that's how they was just shooting. You know what I'm saying? So if you was down that end of the street, it was 50-50 or less than the probability that you could have. I'm watching motherfuckers pile on top of each other to try to just get some type of cover. Yo, it was bad, bro.
Starting point is 02:41:00 It was real bad. And then the person that was shooting back from the balcony that couldn't control the switch Look like he was about to shoot people that were that was right there Like one dude starts shooting and this man jumped up to start Really lay down yet. I was like that could have been really really really bad. Yeah, after the people that that that survived that horrific incident and that survived that horrific incident and definitely shout out to the family, friends and loved ones of the people that lost their life over this 4th of July weekend.
Starting point is 02:41:31 I know I saw another video where a young nigga in another town, I don't remember the town, just started shooting at police, they ended him immediately. I saw some other shit. Oh, in New Jersey, I had a little fight. I think this is the first time in New York that they report no shootings and no murders on the 4th of July. And it's crazy that we gotta brag about that. Yeah, right?
Starting point is 02:41:54 Brag, no, but make mention of, at least acknowledge. Yeah, that's important. Listen, I hate to be that guy because fireworks are great. Fourth of July, America's birthday, yada yada yada. But this entire strip this year when the fireworks on the east side versus when the fireworks are on this side, it was a lot more peaceful over here. I hate to be that guy. It was. But without the traffic, without the tourists, without the... You about to be a Republican, yo.
Starting point is 02:42:29 I hate to be that guy, but lead him. You about to be him. I'm not saying niggas. I'm just saying traffic. Don't pay me to be that guy. It was peaceful. It was. It was. I like peace.
Starting point is 02:42:43 Me too. By the way, I want to shout out Baltimore and Chicago, both have black mayors. Yes. Homicides down significantly. Significantly. In both cities. I think 33% Chicago, maybe even 50 in Baltimore. I don't remember the Baltimore number, but it's really high. So we are seeing some things work. Whatever's working to get that peace you're talking about? The Baltimore mayor, he implemented mad social programs for the kids. Like he spent this shit ton of money to implement all these things to kind of keep them busy
Starting point is 02:43:09 and to distract them to what positive things and it's paying off in the number. That's what's frustrating to me, we know what works. It ain't like we don't know. What man? You don't do that with him? I'm sorry, that was a ill time laugh. I'm watching something on Max that's like American Psychos or American Crazy Niggas.
Starting point is 02:43:29 And in the most recent episode, in the most recent episode, in the 80s, Baltimore got a black sheriff. And it was a big deal because shit was really corrupt at the time. He might have been the first black sheriff in a long time. Anyway, he got in there and got as crooked as company. Yo, when I tell you this nigga was going crazy. So he get in office and starts a private security firm. Long story, less long. He starts a private security firm, which maybe you can do as the sheriff, but he was sending policemen to go do these private contracts and not paying them. He was just sending policemen to go do their...
Starting point is 02:44:11 You on company time, nigga? Go get that overtime. Get that OT. So he was getting all this money and then he started abusing and sexually abusing the women that worked with him. So then it got hot. So then a young black cop ran against him. Oh, he's trying to run for mayor or some shit.
Starting point is 02:44:30 So a young black cop, a deputy ran against him, won. He ran? No, he killed him right after his party he threw for winning. His deep. That's crazy. I wrote an article. I was gonna say to you. You wanna see that?
Starting point is 02:44:48 I'm chopping at the bit to see that shit. You're not male camp. That shit's set. Male camp fuck with me. You're my son. Oh, man. I'm gonna send it to you. I'll take a picture and send it to you
Starting point is 02:44:57 in case I'm jacking the name up. Okay, and right now I'm watching like unknown serial killers so you probably haven't even started that doc, but I wanted to shout out the names of those mayors Baltimore Baltimore mayor Brandon Scott He invested in 42 summer youth camps 29 literacy programs Extended the rec center hours to 11 p.m Planned block parties open the pools for safe fun and open several schools up for summer classes crime is down 62%
Starting point is 02:45:23 62 and in Chicago, it's Governor Wes Moore. Yeah, it's amazing. I read an article the other day that said prison populations are way down and will be down like half, more like 60% in the next few years, which I thought was pretty interesting, especially with your stances on prison reform. The peak of 2.5 million was about 10,12 years ago now, maybe a little bit more. And it's been going down. That was the peak? Yeah, 2.5 million was the peak. It's cited here at 1.6, but now it's 1.2. In the state? No. The national prison was, the peak was 2.5.
Starting point is 02:45:59 I read the article Parks, where it said 1.6. This was in the Atlantic. But if it's down to 1.6 now, or whatever, mean, that's amazing. I think it's at 1 2 now Yes at 1.2. That's amazing. Yeah, so they said that based on all those Oh What I took from it was the crack error and a lot of people getting long ass sentences in the crack error A lot of them are coming home and because we didn't have the crack error again That though that that significant amount of crime didn't repeat itself necessarily okay so then what happens with the whole prison industrial complex arresting immigrants yeah they were deporting them they gonna start locking my fuckers up again
Starting point is 02:46:36 because they need they need them for the work they're coming for you Did you know you're natural yet? I'm working on it. You're not yet, right? I'm working on it. I just sent in all my paperwork. You hear that? Freeze up. Ice, whatever. Freeze up. Ice up.
Starting point is 02:46:53 There was a day, it was freezer burn. Y'all hear that? It ain't done yet. You can get her at the hookah spot. I'm just working on it, okay? You ain't started yet? No, I don't know. No, I'm asking you because I remember when a couple of my peoples did it.
Starting point is 02:47:06 Yo, them, them test, that's a test they need to do. We won't pass, we won't pass that test. Well, guess what? When I do the test, you guys can quiz me, okay? Them niggas be out here. I'll bring in a flash card. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Who is the Secretariat Defensive?
Starting point is 02:47:21 I might actually do it. It be like that, like that shit is hard. I ain't going to hold you. Well, if you are Ice Agent in blue on the Hudson on a weekend, please Right across from the charred house you fly somebody right next to drift That's bad Yes. That's bad. Hey, if you ice agents, they got ballet over there too.
Starting point is 02:47:47 If you ballet and just run in, you can spot her. She's sitting outside being cute. She never runs. I won't. I won't be a blue. Got a new place. And don't tell them what the fuck it is. Don't tell them what it is.
Starting point is 02:48:03 Also because this platform is so big. Tonight's the night we will share. Turn off the lights, come close to me. Tell me right now, you're all I need. If you tell me Keith Washington isn't on. What? You know Keith Washington? No, I don't know him.
Starting point is 02:48:22 That's like just one of my favorite songs. It's on what? Which is going to say it's on what? On ice? You know, no, I don't know Keep watching yeah, look at my girl if you'll fuck Albie Short today, you'll fuck Keith Washington. Who says she'll do that? I said if. I didn't say she would. I said if, if, if, if. I'm not putting that on her.
Starting point is 02:48:50 But I'm saying, if you think, because that was your bag, the Albie Short, the Keith Washington, the Christopher Williams. Albie Short, yeah, that was Raheem from Juice. That was a time. Yeah, all the same nigga. That was a time. Yeah, it was like 1415. That was a time.
Starting point is 02:49:04 And then- Look where your mind was at 14, 15. We can't highlight it because the black guys at 14, 15 was what you were in the black guy. Were you always in the black guys? Yeah. Change it up. No, I don't know. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 02:49:14 Yes. Yes. In Canada, I didn't know if it was, you know, if it changed. No, we have a massive black population in Canada. West Indian African. Yes. Too nice to know. West Indian African, yes. Too nice to know.
Starting point is 02:49:26 We'll fold that up right now. There we go. We'll fold that up right now. We'll fold it now. It's getting folded. Pussy. Anyhooves, the other mayor was in Birmingham. Yeah, I think it was Chicago, I thought it was...
Starting point is 02:49:39 Birmingham mayor. Chicago's down too. Really? Yeah, I think it's 33%. The one I heard was Alabama. Birmingham mayor Randall Woodfin has led an aggressive community driven approach that's paid off.
Starting point is 02:49:48 The city's homicide rate has fallen by 52% compared to last year. Nice. Nice. Everyone gave them a shout out. 52%. That's amazing. I thought Chicago was down too.
Starting point is 02:49:58 Maybe I'm wrong. No, Chicago has a historic drop in violent crime too in the first half of 2025. So there's another black mayor. Don't even. Brandon Johnson, Brandon Scott and. Is Westmore, is that their governor? That's in Maryland.
Starting point is 02:50:11 Westmore is the governor of Maryland. Okay, gotcha. Yeah, it's Brandon Scott and Brandon Johnson are the mayors of Chicago. All right, that's peace. Yeah. Anyway. All right y'all, shout to all of Brandon's out there
Starting point is 02:50:29 Baron Davis a by a by What else is in poison apart the real good part y'all we do have to say rest in peace to young noble No, of the outlaw big Jersey for sure. Rest in peace rest in peace For 47 years young big Jersey shout out to the outlaws. I love y'all 47 years young. Big Jersey shout out to the outlaws, I love y'all. Word. This Texas situation was also pretty crazy. That was nuts. Yo, we was talking about the thing with the switches
Starting point is 02:50:52 in the shooting. I had to turn off the TV. My girl was showing me something yesterday. And it was a family. It was the mother, the father, the kids. And they were just standing in the flood and the water was coming. I had to cut it off. Because it literally showed water was coming, I had to cut it off.
Starting point is 02:51:07 Cause it literally showed the, you know, the whole thing. I had to cut it off. They was in the middle of just the water. That shit was crazy. Now in the phone era, cause you could be standing in safety, filming somebody else going through some real crazy shit. I was like, no, I can't. So they said the water out there rose 26 feet, yo.
Starting point is 02:51:24 He's in 45 minutes. So they said the water out there rose 26 feet, yo. 45 minutes. They got like four months worth of rain inside of like 26 feet in 45 minutes, they said. Like what? That's crazy. You can't even really prepare for that. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 02:51:35 Like yo, people's houses were just. Well, you could have had advance notice, like you know, what would have happened if he hadn't got that federal agency, so. And they would have gotten evacuation notices. There still would have happened if he hadn't got that federal agency so and they would have gotten evacuation notices there still would have been loss of life but there would have been more warning than they had that's real possibly no no that's an indictment on the Trump administration that is what that is where
Starting point is 02:52:03 I'm directing that because they killed the famous Rest in peace the people are lost in lives and to the people that are still looking for their love Nigga I ain't over that Joel's team shit over the church Yeah, and then nobody has a nigga lock the fucking mega church door bitch. We'll kill you in a What a little bit of outstanding after oh all the sad shit that we just had to this is fucking megachurch door. Bitch, we'll kill you in there. What a little bit of outstanding after all the sad shit that we just had to touch upon. Yeah, because they showed a clip of a lady who was clearly sick in a hospital bed in what I think was her home or a home
Starting point is 02:52:39 with the water just coming up to the bed. It was horrible. It was horrible. I'm like, how did the camera man tape, nigga? Put this shit down. Help. Yeah. But yeah, rest in peace, these stories.
Starting point is 02:52:51 Some of these stories, this summer are horrible. For y'all people that be rushing the summer to come, summer is when the worst news hits. Yeah. You people don't be watching the news, I can tell. I don't. Mm-mm. I don't know how you do it.
Starting point is 02:53:04 I read the news, I can tell. I don't. Uh-uh. I don't know how you do it. I read the news. Rest in peace to the people that we lost this weekend. Shout out to anybody out there fighting a private battle. We love y'all. You are not forgotten. Check up on your strong friend. Your weak friends as well. Just get to checkin' up on people. Use the phone. Not text.
Starting point is 02:53:30 Not just text. Dial. Call. Put a voice to that friend. Here you go. Girl you're lookin' sweet all right. You're not a baby girl. Hey! Wish that I could love you back You're such a baby You blow my mind
Starting point is 02:53:59 I know you blow my mind I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, Shout to all the kids listening out there. Shout to my little brothers, they in that college now. Hey! Same school? They want to go to the same school? They at the same school. Yeah, they got to go do their orientation or three week, whatever the fuck. They out the house for a little while. Shout out to them.
Starting point is 02:54:43 Shout out to them. Hey, keep your head in the game. It's a lot of games. It's all different games. God don't make mistakes. I shouldn't have went to college. As much as I hear Mark and be like, yeah college might be cool, but nah.
Starting point is 02:54:56 Nah, I shouldn't have. What do you think college would have been like for you? You would have liked it. You'd have been able to change your took for the better. Cause when you was young, you was on some bullshit. College is kind of fly, yo. College is lit. College is kind of fly, especially if you live on campus
Starting point is 02:55:11 or something, that shit is kind of fly. Yeah, your interpretation of college is the school system and it's not, it's different. It's different. It's a lot of social, it's more social shit. College is not a school system. It is. It is a school system, but it's not like the public school system that you went to
Starting point is 02:55:25 No, we're near like like you could study what you want to study from people that you want to study Yeah, you don't come to class. So I Want to have this talk without? my college system beliefs Yeah, no, it's expensive a lot of times No, but I'm just saying like socially is where the, in my opinion, most of the growth happens. We had this talk before I think at Barks House, but they're saying that the colleges are doing
Starting point is 02:55:50 a lot of incentivizing to keep people coming to the college because they're projecting that by the year 2040. It's business. They're having some, they're having trouble. Lot of them, dog. They say that they're having some trouble, and that's all I got. I'm not trying to get my dad on my phone again.
Starting point is 02:56:05 No, no, no, no. Shout out, dog, high schools. Shout out to one of the prominent high schools around here, Montclair Maculet. It was like a real popular Catholic school, like a lot of the blacks went there, like from the hood. They just shut it down. They can't, like the revenue's not coming in. They can't afford to keep some of these schools.
Starting point is 02:56:21 So same thing is going on with a lot of colleges. They don't have enough revenue coming in. Mail attendance is really down. Shutting them down. Mail. Mail, yeah. Really? Yeah. I mean some of these HBCUs is like four to one, five to one. It's tough. Even ones that had better attendance like Howard are still down with mail attendance. Sounds like a perfectly great reason to go to college. great reason to go to college. All right. Word. Who you going to pick?
Starting point is 02:56:46 Huh? Judd me. Yeah. Judd me. That sounds like a threesome every night, but a foursome every night. What? Chug it all, yo.
Starting point is 02:56:52 He's a cameraman. Cameraman. What? So y'all think I would have enjoyed it even though I don't like condoms? Yeah. Yeah. What?
Starting point is 02:57:00 They didn't like them either. And they got the clinic right there. They did not. Oh, yeah. You would never leave campus. I would have just seen a guidance counselor. There's no guidance counselor. What was your SAT scores?
Starting point is 02:57:12 I got an 1170 but I didn't know how to take the SATs. I answered every single question. What year did you graduate high school? 2001. You? I don't remember. I didn't do PSATs. Can I get my question answered first? No, I said 1170 but it's a little 70 1170. I don't remember I have a look they change it
Starting point is 02:57:30 ACG you had to do take a look now. Did you call you wouldn't take we don't Take it. No, no, no. No. Yeah, it was different. I take that they did a pre-sat I wish I would have spent more time learning how to take it. I was like, I don't want to take that I'm gonna take it that and then it's 1170 cold was good in our day. No and our day. It wasn't bad I think I would have got higher if I would have known how to take the test It's interesting you two got the exact same score that is the highest score is a 1616 1616 Yeah, yeah when I went to my little brother's graduation, I'm not the Saladutorian Like a 1350 on that motherfucker.
Starting point is 02:58:06 It's like, ooh, fancy. Yeah. I did graduate with a 387, though, from college. Ooh. From college. I woke up so excited to take the pre-SAT. Man, the disappointment that set in when they told me I didn't qualify to take it because I hadn't been in school.
Starting point is 02:58:24 Why were you excited to take it at all? Yeah, I know you could do that. I didn't know that because I used to when I was young and pure and all of this abjaded bullshit didn't come into play. I used to be excited about tests. I used to be real bright. So you tested what I want to test to see how I'm crushing everybody. You seem like you'd be good at that.
Starting point is 02:58:41 You had to go to school to test. I didn't know that the PSATs or SATs were dependent on attendance. Yeah, I've never heard that before. At Lincoln High School in Jersey City it was, for sure, I couldn't take it. It makes sense, a lot of schools use tests, like they assume the kids who don't come to school
Starting point is 02:58:59 are gonna do lower, and if they wanna keep their, collect their overall scores higher, they stop you from taking a test so that they can look at me. That's that's the way that point I think my attendance kept me from even being able to attend school So let me not let me shout out Lincoln so I couldn't take the test if you can't even you're not supposed to be here That's you know, I never took the pre-sat either I took the SAT in 10th grade. What was the difference between the a CT and It was a different test What was the difference between the ACT and SATs?
Starting point is 02:59:25 It was a different test. For the slow kids. It wasn't. It wasn't. There's a lot of Canadians. That was for the kids. That was a couple of screws short. What else is important or unimportant?
Starting point is 02:59:41 Let me look at my list. Zion and the gang. Meg sued for fucking Epstein. We did that. Our homeboy that lost his hand, right? That was important to us, Freeze. Important or unimportant, let me look at my list. Zion and the Gang, Meg sued for fucking Epstein, we did that. Oh, homeboy that lost his hand, right? That was important to Freeze. He came in with that one, lemme hear Freeze.
Starting point is 02:59:53 Nah, I just saw it going around. We knew, I was waiting for somebody to do it here. For extra. Well, we called it on the last part, we said shout out to y'all, it's y'all last day with these hands, y'all gonna blow your hand off. That was it, it was just him with some like bootleg M80s
Starting point is 03:00:10 and was posting a video saying he gonna blow somebody. I'm gonna blow somebody the fuck up today. Now who's this person again, what's his name? 4Xtra. And why do we know him? Why is he famous? Why is he popular? They said he a rapper. from out west. Exactly.
Starting point is 03:00:27 Why do we know any of them? And the guy that was knocking people out they said God. Just walking up to them and knocking them out? No, not walking up to them but he would shoot you the fair one and his knockout rate was high. He was good at it. Yeah. So people showed him love. And he just came home with some shit, right? I think so, yes. Mad reasons, I just heard mad reasons
Starting point is 03:00:50 to want more people to know your name. That's funny, it's hard. Like even in that little speech y'all just did, let me know who he is. I just heard like a lot of reasons for somebody to want their name known to like more people. I mean, listen, I don't put it past nothing today, but still in all, just coming off of 4th of July,
Starting point is 03:01:13 I was waiting for a story of somebody blowing their hand the fuck off and it just happened. And it didn't happen. Whether it was real or not. Well, I was waiting for that story too. Very disappointed that it wasn't somebody's hand I give a fuck about. Sorry, sorry uh for extra that's one two I don't believe anything about for extras hand not for one second nor do I believe anything to come out of 22's
Starting point is 03:01:39 mouth the no jumper camp anybody that want to be a rapper that I never heard of rapping before I don't believe one word of it. He did the video with the M80s. The M80s look like some other shit but oh he did the video, oh I'm about to blow something up, oh look at these, look at these, look at these then the word comes out, he blew his hand up, then the picture comes out of him sitting on a curb with his whole hand off, with blood here and every person in the background just looking like nothing's happened. I believe that to be AI.
Starting point is 03:02:09 Y'all wanna roll with it? Cool. Then his sister started to go fund me, allegedly the sister, cause I don't know nobody's family. Allegedly his sister started to go fund me saying, yo homeboy blew his hand up, I need some, I did not donate donate I closed my laptop
Starting point is 03:02:28 and my iPad all the electronics I gathered them up and then he put out an x-ray of his broken hand and with all that proof And with all that proof, I don't believe none of it. Sorry, sorry. So he didn't blow his hand off. Yeah, so he's just broken. He blew his hand off and then Adam said, no, he only blew off a couple of fingers, but nobody's seen his hand.
Starting point is 03:02:56 Nobody's seen him in the hospital. They had pictures of his finger on the floor. It's tough. I'm just saying, I don't believe it. I got you. I don't, sorry. Like we said, today you gotta have that stance though. It's dumb. I'm just saying I don't believe it. I got you. I don't. Sorry. Like we said, today you gotta have that stance though.
Starting point is 03:03:09 Sorry that happened to you if it did and if you didn't. Yeah. They don't affect nothing over here son. It's a little ruse. It's too perfect of an alu for the kids on the internet to say it looks like you're gonna need four extra fingers. The kids, you know kids, you know these little internet kids. They say, yo, four extra blues, hand off.
Starting point is 03:03:31 Here they go. Lucky he gonna have. Four extra fingers. Oh my God. Oh shit, y'all. Jesus, man. Disgusting. Hey shit, y'all. Jesus, man. Disgusting. Hey, JPP did it and signed contracts after that.
Starting point is 03:03:50 Got busy too. And won a ring. They ain't got some money. 4X could be cool. Adam can't lose nobody else, man. I don't care if I'm more immature than y'all. Fuck y'all. Y'all can leave.
Starting point is 03:03:58 I'll still be making Adam jokes. What else? What else we got? What else we got? Let me see. Let me check my list. Let me see. Chris Paul has announced next season will be his British title. I'll see y'all can leave. I'll see them make Adam jokes. What else? What else we got? What else we got?
Starting point is 03:04:06 Let me see. Let me check my list. Let me see. Chris Paul has announced next season will be his retirement season. Now, Mark, you don't know. Parks is and has been a long time Chris hater. Chris Paul hater. I gathered that from your own note.
Starting point is 03:04:21 Why? Yeah, he hates him. I don't know. I forgot now. Look, look, look. I'll say what it was. I watched him get cooked in the playoffs every year and everybody's like,
Starting point is 03:04:30 he's one of the top three point guards of all time for years and he's not. So the fans made you hit him. Yes. Chris Paul's an elite point guard. But Chris Paul's an elite. He's a very good point guard. I mean, I'll just say this.
Starting point is 03:04:41 As of five years ago, I don't know now because I haven't really, there was a point, as late as five years ago where his PR was the best ever among among point guards I know that's not everything. I mean I'll take magic over him. I take Isaiah over him. I take maybe Jason kid I don't know but he's dope. But what I love about Chris Paul is His spirit his heart and the fact that you know as the head of the players union He stood up and spoke out and obviously doing all the uprisings, you know, he's one of the leaders Taking a stand so Chris Paul and he's just a good dude
Starting point is 03:05:11 And I love that he's getting a farewell tour I love when the greats get a year where they can go to every arena get a standing ovation get the highlight tape And get the love that they deserve he's been doing this for 20 years now damn near Yeah, probably. Yeah. Yeah, I can't remember when he was drafted because Lebron was drafted 03. He was after Lebron, right? So He deserves all of it so Yeah, let me not let the internet jokes of my crispball hatred. He was a very good point guard and elite. Yeah for sure Top ten top ten, maybe I'm gonna give you that yeah maybe okay top ten what point guard stop it he stopped it he's higher than
Starting point is 03:05:59 talk to you oh I was just saying top ten like wherever you want to play some he's high top ten is it disrespectful mark price is top ten Niggas, you tell my work person Made a top ten boy goes all time in Top ten point magic is a non-negotiable Isaiah's a non-negotiable John Curry's a non-negotiable John Stockton Steph Curry John Stockton That's four decent kid Steve Nash Oscar Robinson Oscar Robinson. Oscar Robinson, you gotta do it.
Starting point is 03:06:26 Before my time, okay. If you're a boss, you gotta do it. That's seven. Jerry West is a two, right? He's a one, too, but I'd say him as a two for now. Oh, Pistol Pete. Yep. Might not make it.
Starting point is 03:06:36 You can't name 10 without Pistol Pete. If you got a father, talk to him about Pistol Pete. Pistol Pete was the ship, but is Pistol Pete above Gary Payton? Is Pistol Pete above? Yes. Okay, I'm asking. They had GP and Ray John Rondo rounded off that list That was the ten that they just put out recently
Starting point is 03:06:50 Maybe you almost maybe want to call my dad and ask him what you just said is pistol Peter both Gary Gary Payton But I didn't watch enough of him play There's three. I mean his three-point shooting numbers are like amazing But again, it was no three-pointer and his scoring is what it was. When they did a thing of where he was shooting from, they did the advanced stats show where he was shooting from there basically like his three point percentage was out of it. Yeah, it was out of it. Pistol Pete didn't miss. Arguably invented all of that uh Jason Williams show time behind the back under the leg shit in
Starting point is 03:07:22 the 40s and 50s.s. What are we talking about? Y'all don't have Westbrook in the top 10 I noticed. I just asked you just for the fuck of it. I can't put it there. Just for the fuck of it. Magic, this is an order, top 10. Magic, Steph Curry, Oscar Robinson, Isaiah Thomas, John Stockton, Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash,
Starting point is 03:07:42 Gary Payton, Walt walk live Frazier. Oh They got GP. Oh, I was the one and then I don't honor honorable mentions Tony Parker Carrie Irving Derek Rose Russell Westbrook Dame Lillard. Okay, that list has never seen pistol Pete. I'll take it back Some of the names don't belong in front of this to be me Once you got to the honor, this will be the tough one, you know, nobody ever zone. Yeah Research today. Yeah, and his number is research today. Yeah See that's the part I don't know about That's the part I know but anyway, but Chris Paul's up there. I think Chris Paul's top five Fuck part, maybe top seven and that was based on these overall impact stats accolades and influence on the game
Starting point is 03:08:21 Yo, uh Off of this for a second. I know you and I like to stay tuned to the New York Mayor, Mayor candidate. Yes. They still wowing? You see Cuomo and Eric Adams is fighting now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love it.
Starting point is 03:08:37 Just like you told me they would. Yeah. But it happened faster than, it just told me that. And now they beefing, beefing, beefing. And Eric Adams is making sense. they fighting over who should sit down I don't even see where Cuomo has an argument in this Eric Adams like yo dog you just lost by 12 12 percent and I'm the sitting mayor right the mayor right now right you got to go sorry right that shit is heating up. Y'all gonna make me watch this shit.
Starting point is 03:09:06 You crazy as a bag of dope. If you think that's... N***a. Cuomo has a good counter-argument though. What is the counter-argument? People hate Eric fucking Adams. Republicans will vote for me. Adams... Wait, I couldn't hear. Now in the general election, Republicans don't have a...
Starting point is 03:09:20 Republicans can't win with a Republican ticket. So they have to pick somebody and these rich white New Yorkers are more likely to vote for Cuomo than they are to vote for Adams. So he's like, as an independent, I get Democrat votes, and I get the xenophobic vote, and I'll get the Republican vote. That is a fair point, but you just got demolished. You just got demolished.
Starting point is 03:09:41 Homeboy, actually, he got 540,000 votes, which is the most that any candidate has gotten since like 78 or something like that yeah so he's on a tear yeah like the new the younger people that watch this show it up you know it don't matter who they get yeah nobody matter would it get oh boy got it I think when Danny wins it yeah what's next right so them two he's out here. What's next, right? So them two have to... I mean, they both could run, but then they're just... They'll split their votes.
