Starting point is 00:00:00 Pat, we live. Microphone check, one, two, one, two. I will name this podcast later. I want to welcome all the listeners. This is episode 107. I know last week I said episode 107, but I was ahead, kind of like I am in life. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:00:16 Is this how we're starting today? See where this is going. This is where this is going? No, I wanted to start. Well, we can't start where I wanted to start. I wanted to start with why Maul bought can't start Where I wanted to start I wanted to start With why Maul Bought so much steak And stock in Virginia Black
Starting point is 00:00:28 He's the only one Cause he's OVL He's so blem Alright He's so blem Yes Mad blem Alright so
Starting point is 00:00:38 Where do we wanna start Let's start with Maul I walk in And Maul tells me That King Kendrick Is getting everybody The fuck out of here Friday, right? Both of y'all are saying that. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:00:48 And then I say, yeah, I agree he is. And then Maul says, you too. He groups me in with that. Yeah. You rap, no? No. There's no history of you rapping at all. History.
Starting point is 00:00:59 You said present tense. Just put an album out like two months ago. That was past tense. You said you don't know why we feel like he's getting niggas out of here. Ask Maul. Both of y'all. You said it on your new show. Maul's saying it.
Starting point is 00:01:12 Everyone in my mentions is saying he's getting everyone the fuck out of here on Friday. Why is he getting? I think he's going to put out a great album. No, when I say get niggas out of here, I mean he's going to force niggas to rap. Niggas is going to have to get on their shit. Why? I don't know about that, bro. Because he's been rapping and no one needed to and they're still successful.
Starting point is 00:01:29 No, niggas needed to. Niggas have tried. Well, who's he going to force to rap? We're talking about casual fans right now, right? That would think this? Yeah. Because every time Kendrick puts out an album, everyone is woke for a week and they love lyrics for a week and then Uzi puts out another great song, and we've moved on.
Starting point is 00:01:47 That's what happens. So I don't think he's getting anyone the fuck out of here. I think he's just going to put out a great album. That's all I think that's going to happen. I'm new to the Uzi bandwagon, by the way. I like Uzi now. Uzi's great. He better stop DMing my bitch before I fuck him up.
Starting point is 00:02:00 He going to take sin. But other than that. Stop DMing my bitch. Is your lady replying? And first of all Stop snitching on Uzi How do you know He don't have a situation
Starting point is 00:02:09 And shouldn't be DMing I ain't gonna lie That was kinda crazy Yeah You ain't supposed To put that out there Huh? That's wild
Starting point is 00:02:15 What if he got a girl? Then stop DMing my No Jesus Christ Where's your ethics? Yeah What the hell is wrong Talking about Don't fucking put that out Where's my fucking? What the hell is wrong talking about
Starting point is 00:02:25 don't fucking put that out? Where's my fucking clip, man? He's such a hipster. Was this a case of Mendeecees having his cake and eating it too? Because when he wasn't with Yandy, was he with Erica? Was he snitching on Uzi?
Starting point is 00:02:38 Or was he snitching on Fetty? Right. Let me tell you what's funny about that, right? So even when, and I don't want to drud us out, but when me and Sim was talking about it, I was like, you know what's wild about the DM? Because it wasn't nothing but like just a little emoji. I was like, I want to be mad at it.
Starting point is 00:02:55 I can't be mad at it because I feel like all the young kids, when they send you like a pink heart, like it just means peace and spread love and unity. Like it don't mean what it used to mean for us. Like I won't put my dick in your mouth. You got Uzi fucked up. That pink heart don't mean peace. Word.
Starting point is 00:03:11 What does it mean? He trying to see her pink heart. I think Sin could take Uzi. I think Sin could take you. All right. So no, let me tell you why I feel like that about Kendrick, Roy. Why do you name your album Damn if you're not killing somebody? Tell me.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Explain it to me. I didn't name the album, so I wouldn't know. I know, but I'll just prophesize. Guess. No, no, no, no. I think he is, to your point that you made in your Complex show, because we're going to plug it, because you don't like to plug things on here. We got to plug it, because if we leave the promo up to them, I mean,
Starting point is 00:03:45 I get fired already. No, you had mentioned that you think he's going to be rapping and all that bullshit. I'm just saying to the fans, I don't,
Starting point is 00:03:50 the fans are who are, who's going to get people out of here. Not the rappers anymore with memes and tweeting. They kill people. Rappers don't kill people anymore. So I think,
Starting point is 00:03:58 I think it's not going to matter. I know, but I'm only talking about the attempt and the skill set. I'm not talking about what happens after He disses somebody Well Kendrick's been doing that
Starting point is 00:04:06 For quite some time I think niggas is getting it That album cover That title That everything That look in his eye That little staggering I know that look
Starting point is 00:04:15 My pop made that look In front of The Port Authority When I was like seven I've seen that look before I have seen that look before. I have seen that look before, I'm saying. What does that look mean?
Starting point is 00:04:30 Oh, come on, man. I'm just asking. You know what that look means. I think my mom's gave me that look in front of Alexander's on the Concourse one day. Back in like 86. Everybody's mom has given him that look before. That's a fact. I feel like that's the look Kendrick has given.
Starting point is 00:04:44 I don't know I'm excited Out of all his album covers This has been the Like least In depth One Every time he does something It's like amazing
Starting point is 00:04:52 With the van And the story told In good capacity He getting right to it Fuck all that To pimp a butterfly shit In front of the White House It was
Starting point is 00:04:59 A statement Yeah This motherfucker's Against a brick wall It took some clip word art From Microsoft Word and put down he not playing
Starting point is 00:05:06 listen let me let me tell you with with the Kendrick album title and just with albums being titled Wild Shit These Days
Starting point is 00:05:15 Roy I think that that title might could come back man no I think it obviously means something but I'm no I'm talking about
Starting point is 00:05:21 nah I think I love this bitch oh yeah yeah listen man so we was closing out the all love the love lost love I found love lost love mean something. Yeah. No, I'm talking about nah, I think I love this bitch. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Listen, man. So we was closing out the all love, the love, lost love, I found love, lost love, whatever the fuck
Starting point is 00:05:30 I was doing back then. We was closing that out with nah, I think I love this bitch. We just can't do it now. It was a joke back then just because it was a real hard album title. It was a joke to everyone
Starting point is 00:05:39 but you and I. Yeah, because I thought that was a real hard album title until I went and really fell in love. Now it's whack. I can't say, nah, I love this bitch and be in love. There's nothing dope about that. Yeah, because we talked about it on Twitter and everyone
Starting point is 00:05:51 came on my mentions. It was like, stop calling Sin a bitch. I was like, this was from like four years ago that we bought this title. Yeah, Sin was nowhere in the picture. And Rory and myself, we want to stop using that word anyway. So how do we feel? Alright, I'm just going to wait for Kendrick.
Starting point is 00:06:06 I feel like academics has talked my head off about Kendrick. So I don't want to talk about him too much here. Wayne, no. Any thoughts on that? The rumor,
Starting point is 00:06:16 the alleged rumors of Wayne to Roc Nation. Maul was at the signing. So I think he's our senior Roc Nation correspondent. This nigga's every click's correspondent. Maul, what's happening with Wayne I think he's our senior Rock Nation correspondent. This nigga's every click's correspondent.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Maul, what's happening with Wayne? Is that a Dreamville hat? That's definitely the crown from J. Cole's Born Sinner album. What kind of hat is that? Y'all funny. I see y'all on y'all shit today. I see a fucking Maul day to day, huh? No, I'm just asking.
Starting point is 00:06:41 I don't know what type of hat that is. It's when we were young. Okay. I don't know. That was the outro on Blueprint 3, I believe. You. I don't know what type of hat that is. It's when we were young. Oh, okay. I don't know. That was the outro on Blueprint 3, I believe. You're trendier than me. I don't fucking know. Trendier.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Yeah. You're a culture. What did you just tell us you were? A culture forwarder? Is that what you came in here and told me and wrote me a new title? That does not sound like it. He said, I don't rap no more. I'm a culture forwarder.
Starting point is 00:07:03 He called himself a tastemaker on Saturday. That is fucking crazy. I was blown away. That's crazy. Listen, guys. Your next album going to be trash. I already know. I'm not making another album.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Your next album going to be trash. That shit going to be damn in a different tone. Yeah. He going to try to culture forward us to death. I can't be a culture forwarder? No. But why? Because you can't.
Starting point is 00:07:23 But what if I'm doing all of my power to forward the culture? You pulled the culture back so much, you got to do a lot to put us forward now. First of all, Rory, complex is damn. No, I had to let that say what Maltz just said. Joe brought us back 30 years. Word. What the hell is Walt saying? I'm a culture set backer?
Starting point is 00:07:51 Yeah, you're a culture set backer. Oh, man. Now I forgot what I was saying. Oh, Rory, you want to hear something real corny, but I mean it's dope, but I mean it's corny. What's Complex's little phrase that they painted on all the walls? We're not pop culture. We make culture. Culture.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Culture pop. What's up with this fucking mic? We make culture pop. That's the culture trying to cut you out. Yeah. Yeah. That's what it says over there. Listen, I got my work cut out for me, man.
Starting point is 00:08:18 I got a lot of work to do over there. I can see that. And your little trendy mesh workout, but I don't really work out t-shirt. This nigga different, man. I'm saying. Lulu limit. First of all, you and all the other New Yorkers today were bugging.
Starting point is 00:08:30 I know it was like 75 degrees today. You're in shorts and a t-shirt. It's going to be fucking 50 tomorrow. This is how you get sick. I had a hoodie on the whole day. I'm not rolling with this weather. You're not catching me. I didn't wear these shorts all day.
Starting point is 00:08:43 I didn't have more. I just put them on, number one. Number two, I like watching people go to work. I think I was telling Rory that. I see all of their pain and misery on their face as they go to work. You could almost see somebody's entire temperament, their lifestyle, just as they go to work. Take the train to work instead one day.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Yo, when is Take your homies to work day Oh no We have to do that on Thursday We'll talk about that later Wait what We're using Complex To take photos For our podcast
Starting point is 00:09:12 I didn't even know That they had Take your homies to work day They don't I'm just breaking some shit up But I just want to Walk around Complex I want to shadow you
Starting point is 00:09:19 At Complex You should Yeah I do You should I seriously do But why Cause I just want to Look at you in a different
Starting point is 00:09:24 Work environment Nah you don't want to look at me in there. Why? I'm in there going to work. Okay, I want to see that. I've never seen that. Because then I'm not going to work. You've been in the studio with me.
Starting point is 00:09:32 You've seen me go to work. No, and that ass music. I'm talking about like around other people. Because you hate being around other people like that. And I think they hate being around me. That's why I want to be there. I need to see that. I need to see how they react to you.
Starting point is 00:09:44 Can we roll up there? Y'all can come up there I don't know if you'll Be allowed entry Is it weed friendly? If we'll be allowed entry Look how he talking I know
Starting point is 00:09:53 We're not allowed entry It's a complex This is a sophisticated Internet TV show You guys are just on a podcast Yeah If you don't get the fuck out of here I see you got your button up game
Starting point is 00:10:02 In order I'm watching you on Who is this nigga man? How many button ups you bought? Don't lie No I gotta of here. I see you got your button-up game in order. I'm watching you on. Who is this nigga, man? How many button-ups you bought? Don't lie. No, I got to buy some more. I got to buy some more. I've worn it, too.
Starting point is 00:10:15 You're going to see him tomorrow in the white shirt. Yeah. Yo, it's going to be such a drastic change tomorrow when the sweats come out. I was about to say, I ain't see a sweat yet. Well, I'm trying to give them some different shit in the wardrobe, but now that I have a job and people got to see me, I'm noticing my wardrobe is just not really essential.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Yeah, so you can't wear the same sweats you wore to Melody six months in a row. How do y'all do it? How do working people do it? Y'all just keep shopping? Well, I personally don't really care how I'm viewed at work. I just have to give a cool appearance that looks like business-ish. You're on camera. i just have to give a cool appearance that looks like business ish you're on camera you actually have to look really nice i could buy a bum ass button up and
Starting point is 00:10:50 just wear it to work and go home and no one will really see me but my co-workers that i don't particularly care what they think how i dress you on the other hand are on camera talking so you need to look somewhat nice i don't want to shop i shop. I don't want to put any thought or effort into how I look, but that's a story for another day. I'm going to try. I'm going to find another button up. Either that or it's going to be the true religion flannel. Are you going to wear your S. Carters again? No, those were Gucci's, damn it.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Does anybody have a take? That's how you know Joe is old, that he got his first job and he brought out the Gucci's. That's some old school shit, man. As long as they ain't low. Gucci sneakers are not particularly like the go-to like they used to be. That's how I know you old. Wait, first of all. It was your first day of school and you put on your Gucci sneakers.
Starting point is 00:11:38 Yo, you laid your outfit out on the bed. Definitely did. Oh, I see what's going on. With the sneakers at the bottom. Are you going to wear the high top Prada's tomorrow? Because you know those are coming. Is this a case of Mendes having his cake and eating it too? First of all, it's the low-top, shiny Prada's that niggas was doing that Feli tried to bite.
Starting point is 00:11:56 No, Feli had the mids. And then Finesse bought a pair. Pregnancy. Finesse bought the Feli Prada's. He ain't even know He thought he was Killing the The house party Finesse bought the
Starting point is 00:12:12 Feline products It's fucking crazy Remember the Feline products Man that's crazy Oh man Niggas was clowns When they had those
Starting point is 00:12:19 I can tell y'all missed me Cause I'm trying to get Y'all to talk about hip hop I can tell y'all missed me Is that what you can tell I'm trying to get y'all You had to know-hop. I can tell y'all miss me. Is that what you can tell? I'm trying to get y'all. You had to know I'm going to fuck with you, man. I'm sitting watching that complex shit.
Starting point is 00:12:29 I'm like, look at this nigga here, man. They let this nigga up in this building, man. I was body and tell you, give me some critique. That'll be good. Y'all give me some critique on how I'm doing in my first week of curating and forwarding the culture. Culture forwarding. The culture look like it's in good hands right culture. Culture forwarding. The culture look like it's in good hands right now.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Right? Yeah. I don't know if you're being funny. No, I see what you're trying to do up there at Complex. I see you trying to be the, you know, you're going against everything, what you normally do. See, that's funny. I thought I was actually being friendlier.
Starting point is 00:12:59 No, no, no, you're being friendly, but your objective is you're going against, you know, with everything at Complex, the millennials, the, you know, the hype beast. Like, you're going against You know With everything The conflict The millennials The you know The hype beast Like you trying to get rid of Oh you know I hate all of that Yeah
Starting point is 00:13:10 Oh that's happening We getting rid of all that shit Yeah Academics is best friend With the kid XXXTentacion So they be talking That's the other Drake one
Starting point is 00:13:19 The one that rap Like Drake Or Drake rap like him Something That kid Something or other But anyway I'm just getting familiar with him. I'm just learning.
Starting point is 00:13:28 I'm just learning all this shit. I don't know. My only critique is what I said to you before you even did this shit over the weekend. Just stop screaming because people won't really care what you have to say if you sound angry as fuck. Listen, I'm trying to be excited at 7 in the morning. All right, I'll stop screaming. Wayne, Maul, come on, title man, give it up. Title man. Yeah, tell me what you think. What was the deal for. All right, I'll stop screaming. Wayne, Maul. Come on, title man. Give it up.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Title man. Yeah, tell me what you think. What was the deal for? All right, listen. How much you get up front? How many albums? This now, we playing, but we heard this rumor years ago.
Starting point is 00:13:55 Yeah. Years ago we heard. It's been going on forever. Years ago we heard that Hov was trying to sign Wayne. This was Rockefeller. Yeah, Rockefeller. That's how old this is.
Starting point is 00:14:04 So today now, we're only going off of Wayne announcing this from stage. Which I think he's done already. He has. Like three years ago, I felt like he said, I'm Roc Nation. I felt like he threw up the diamond three years ago or some shit like that. I feel like he changed his Zodiac sign from stage. He just blurt shit from the stage. His basketball team's changed.
Starting point is 00:14:24 He just blurt shit from stage. Why are we team's changed. He just blurts shit from stage. Why are we putting any credence to what Wayne says from stage? I don't know. Well, there was so much coverage of it, I figured it was true this time. I didn't realize it was just a stage yelling. Oh, so we still don't know if it's true or not? No, we don't. I'm not putting credibility toward someone announcing something from a stage.
Starting point is 00:14:43 I'm just not doing it. And Wayne on stage at that. And, I mean, if I'm going to get my title Rock Nation News from somebody, it won't be Wayne and it won't be from the stage. I'll wait for Hov to come crawl out of Groundhog Twitter and tweet some shit. Well, until you see Jay and Wayne together in the office
Starting point is 00:14:59 with champagne and toasting, you know it's not really a picture. I feel like Hov just has brunches now to announce shit and then the pictures leak. Until I see a picture of Jay and Wayne. Yeah, until there's some pancakes and some mimosas. I'm not believing any of this. I went to title office thinking I would find Maul and Hov having brunch playing some card game.
Starting point is 00:15:15 I didn't see it. I know you didn't. I didn't see it. Well, that's because they wasn't a part of the office. You're not allowed in. Oh, here we go. Then I went, yeah, I know. Then I went, I've had a couple of meetings.
Starting point is 00:15:25 I see a lot of young people out there. So I'd be joking and calling Rory young and stupid. But really younger people are taking over the world out there. All right, so y'all don't care about Wayne and his announcement? Not until we know it's official. All right, let's talk about Fight Club then. United. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Yeah, I think that dude is going to get a badge. I've been saying Fuck United On this podcast We've been saying Fuck United For a really long time That was who you was flying When you was stuck in I've been fucked team United
Starting point is 00:15:50 I tried to tell y'all But then y'all wanted To get on there And get thrown off I don't even know If I have sympathy Because I've been Trying to warn everybody
Starting point is 00:15:56 Yeah But we do know That he will see a bag From that I don't know that Okay How do I know that His report was that everything worked.
Starting point is 00:16:05 I assume that. I assume that, but I mean, I don't know that. I didn't know that the rules were... Now, again, we've been killing United forever. I hate United. I hate any airplane that you buy a flight and they don't assign you a seat. Yeah, I don't like that.
Starting point is 00:16:23 No, that's Southwest. United don't do that shit. Well, up until this gentleman, assign you a seat. Yeah, I don't like that. No, that's Southwest. United don't do that shit. Well, up until this gentleman, you got a seat. Southwest incites riots if you are trying to sit down. No, but he had a seat, and they overbooked, which every airline does. They always do. Every airline overbooks. Well, mainly Delta and United.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Yeah, but I think they go by whoever purchased their ticket last, and then they had to have Delta employees fly to the city where that flight was going to. So they asked a couple people to get off. They went from $400 to $800 vouchers and a free night at a hotel. And the next flight was at 3pm. Not for nothing. Everyone on that plane was bugging.
Starting point is 00:17:00 I'm taking the $800 and a hotel if I ain't got shit to do the next day. I would have got right up if you don't have shit to do the next day. I would have got it right up. If you don't have shit to do the next day. I just don't. I feel like out of 200 people, someone did have shit to do the next day. But there was another flight leaving that day, wasn't it? I think it was tomorrow at 3 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Oh, the next day. Oh, yeah. He might have. Because he is a doctor. I heard he was a doctor. Well, not him. I'm just saying someone on that flight. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:18 I would have got it. I'm just going to take the $800. I would have got it. Mom, man, you have been together A million times At airports When that stupid announcement Go off And then we don't move No well it was never For $800
Starting point is 00:17:28 It was always for a flight It was for like a flight voucher It was never Because if it was $800 I would have tapped you Like Joe Mahal At you tomorrow Go get this $800 real quick
Starting point is 00:17:36 Hope you don't get dragged off Yeah like Think of what $800 I didn't know the rule was When you When they are forced To bump somebody
Starting point is 00:17:43 That they allow The computer to randomly pick a passenger i could see any of us having that reaction if you are randomly coming to my seat and telling me i have to get off of the plane i would have reacted much worse i was i would have fought the cops the three of them oh yeah i could see you doing that 100 if they touch me and for a plane ticket that i purchased i'm going to, and then I can't sue anymore. So that's why I'm saying I don't know if he has a case because— Well, he didn't get physical.
Starting point is 00:18:11 He just didn't get up. And they dragged him out of the seat. He hit his head on the— Well, you see the language that they're using now in all of these press releases is he was defiant. He would not—you know all the bullshit that they pull out. So I don't know If they were following protocol What does a judge say
Starting point is 00:18:28 When this goes in front of a judge I know that was horrific to look at I don't want to see that Yeah The second clip was the creepiest shit The just kill me shit Yeah he ran back on the plane That was wild
Starting point is 00:18:40 He ran back on And ran to the back of the plane I ain't gonna lie I would have got off the plane At that point Now you done spooked me out I done seen Too many final destinations
Starting point is 00:18:48 Now you done ran off And on the plane The whole plane got bad karma And shit Yeah I'm out Delta employees here Yeah I'm cool
Starting point is 00:18:55 Have a blast Take my seat Well the United CEO Put out a statement In regards to the staff He was defending them He said Well I deeply regret
Starting point is 00:19:04 This situation arose. I also stand behind all of you and want to commend you for continuing to go above and beyond to ensure we fly right. So is he suggesting that was flying right? I guess so. And they was going to Cincinnati. First of all, what is important in Cincinnati that you got to drag somebody off of?
Starting point is 00:19:23 That was crazy. So reports are coming out. I've seen two conflicting reports. One said that since that event, United has lost $675 million. I saw $800 right before we got here. I saw another one that was a bit less. It said $275. Either way, it's a hit.
Starting point is 00:19:39 Yeah, they're losing money. Either way, and that's going to continue. And they were already having financial problems. Listen, I'm all for what's right, but if them United tickets start going down for like $79 to LA, I'm team United again. Y'all have fun with that fight. You and Maul, I noticed that y'all are conveniently woke.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Like y'all are down for the cause when it's convenient. Let's talk about it. When? Maul was saying fuck Uber until it was time to get an Uber. Then he needed it. So he's conveniently. Did I say fuck Uber? Not on the podcast.
Starting point is 00:20:13 Not anywhere where we could hold you to it. You know you do your fake woke shit. And then sure enough, Uber. Now you with this Southwest whatever United bullshit. All right. So United happened. Something else really, really, really important happened. What was it?
Starting point is 00:20:29 I got a list here. You have a list of what happened important? Yes, and all of it is not important. Rory has a list of all the things that have happened that are important. French Montana, that was like right after we recorded maybe we should start with that i mean that's kind of came in record but not him calling uh the chick a nappy headed hoe or something oh oh no that's over we don't care nothing about that he he uh i see swiss on instagram premiering a new french record with the weekend playing
Starting point is 00:21:01 oh that's cool i'm here for swiss i didn't hear that did y'all hear the new ludicrous record with The Weeknd playing. Oh, that's cool. I'm here for Swizzy and French. I didn't hear that. Did y'all hear the new Ludacris record with Ty Dolla $ign redoing Thong Song? Yeah. No, I did not. I saw the video. It sounds like it might be fire, though. Didn't they have a clip? Isn't the video out or something like that? Yeah, it's a video out.
Starting point is 00:21:17 He has like CIG abs? Like he CIG'd his abs or something like that? Yeah. So the young people are really confused as if Ludacris hasn't been animated in videos since 95. Nothing to be alarmed about there. I don't think he was trying to trick anybody.
Starting point is 00:21:31 No, no, no. But I like the song. But I like Thong's song. I like Ludacris, man. But Ludacris started getting that Hollywood money and he just was like, fuck music.
Starting point is 00:21:38 I know. So now you come back, Ludacris. You come back to hip hop but you're looking too clean. Yes. You're looking too good. Your shape up is too crisp. You're a Hollywood star.
Starting point is 00:21:46 You're wearing shit that we don't wear in hip-hop, like shit we can't afford. We've never seen that Versace shit. I was happy for the transition. I think he had a great career and made a lot of great music. I think he's underrated as a rapper, but I'm cool. Go act. Wait. I'm happy for the transition.
Starting point is 00:22:01 What is there not to be happy about? He left rap and went to make movies. Anybody's making that transition. I don't need the transition happy about? He left rap and went to make movies. Anybody's making that transition. I don't need the transition back to rap. I'm good on Ludacris. Yeah, I'd like to know why he's rapping. And I like that song. I like the song.
Starting point is 00:22:13 Because I think Ty Dolla $ign can make all of us sound dope. I love Ty Dolla $ign. You're going to have to start rapping again, too. Rappers rap. He's a rapper. I'm sure he just loves making music, so he's going gonna continue to do so Oh please
Starting point is 00:22:25 And it's not like He'll take a financial hit He ain't give us no fucking music When they was doing fast Five, six, seven, eight, nine, and ten Yeah but Now all of a sudden he back He got a little window right now
Starting point is 00:22:35 Fuck outta here Shaka Yeah y'all niggas kill me man Mack another one Let's get into Mack Y'all niggas kill me And of course y'all are doing What y'all are supposed to do Right
Starting point is 00:22:44 Y'all kill me when y'all are supposed to do Right Y'all kill me When y'all try to capitalize Off your momentum Yeah God forbid Mack got two shows out He got The Breaks
Starting point is 00:22:53 Another one on the way Another show He's in The Breaks He's a cop I think He's in Shots Fired With Sonali And that show is out right now That's the one yeah
Starting point is 00:23:00 Boy I got a lot of jokes On that show We gotta get Mack on the show man Mack won't As if he needs to be On another show But We got to get Mac on the show, man. As if he needs to be on another show, but we need to get him on the show. Mac should come on this show. I don't know if he's ready for me to interview him. The questions I have to ask Mac. Yeah, I think per our conversation Saturday, I think.
Starting point is 00:23:17 He probably shouldn't. I'm going to personally text him and say don't come if Joe invites you. Mac is very well. His PR. Oh, yeah. He's been doing this For a while But it's different When your friends
Starting point is 00:23:27 Are asking you questions That shit so see through I see right through All that PR bullshit Mac be doing Yeah but you're not Going to corner him though Mac's album is really good
Starting point is 00:23:35 It is I like it Like let's talk about it Mac's album is And dare I say it Surprisingly good Yeah Was I the only one surprised No
Starting point is 00:23:44 Well his first album was good Alright stop I don't want people to confuse what I'm saying His first album was good It was very different from this This one seems a bit more mature Yeah What was the last album?
Starting point is 00:23:57 What three years ago? A long time ago For you to do that type of turnaround in three years For you to develop that type of turnaround in three years, for you to develop that type of maturity, just sonically, I didn't expect there to be so much grown man music on the album, and I love it. And I like the girl that left the voicemail.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Whoever she is. There's a few girls. We got to start pinpointing the girls that have, you know what I mean, left really sexy, good voicemails in hip hop. Yeah. That's a list that has not been created. You're right.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Yeah, we got to create that. That's untapped. You know how blown away I was in 2000 and whatever year that was in Def Jam when I was sitting at one of the cubicles and I found out who the girl on Hovi Baby was? That was a big deal to me. Yo, do people still, do girls still leave voicemails?
Starting point is 00:24:43 I don't think so. My voicemail's not even set up on my phone. You can't even leave me a voicemail. What would a girl leave? All right, I like where this is going.
Starting point is 00:24:52 Tell me what, because no, nobody leaves voicemails. That's old fashioned. Because if you call me and I don't pick up, you usually just text me. Well, some people.
Starting point is 00:25:00 I think text is the new voicemail. You know what's real stupid? Only my mom leaves a voicemail at this point. Some people call and then you don't answer and then they just call you again. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's not even, the voicemail is not even like a thing anymore. Voicemail is almost like writing somebody a letter and going to the mailbox and sending it to them.
Starting point is 00:25:16 I think that's nostalgic and people should still do it. I don't want anyone, bill collectors leave me voicemails. Oh, they're never gonna Abandon that game That's it You know what's funny I don't even really Use my phone Sin called me earlier
Starting point is 00:25:30 And we hung up I looked at the time That shit said Six minutes and forty seconds I was like I'm so in love Who talks for Six minutes
Starting point is 00:25:37 Six minutes Yeah You use your phone For everything But talking on the phone Right So Alright
Starting point is 00:25:43 What else happened Really good Rory has a list the joey badass hot 97 thing which we could give some backstory but before we even do that i'll do it in reverse fucking ebro i asked a million times on twitter he replied back to me until i said all right come on the podcast and talk about it then he ducked and said i have my own show to do that y Y'all can't handle questions. Even though we would be the one asking the questions. Ebro, come the fuck on the podcast and stop bullshitting.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Ebro ain't coming on the podcast. You're ducking, Ebro. Let's call a spade a spade and let's just have some real talk here, man. I'm starting to think Ebro is scared to come on this podcast. Because when I speak to him, well, last year before we fired Marissa,
Starting point is 00:26:24 when I speak to him, he says, I before we fired Marissa, when I speak to him, he says, I remember. He's still a friend of the show. I'm just saying he's ducking. No, he's a friend of me in real life. He ain't a friend of the show. I don't know if you're a friend of the show. You won't come up here.
Starting point is 00:26:37 I have so many questions, fam. I do, too, and I think this was perfect. I think Joey Badass was absolutely correct in saying what he said. I think it was ballsy, bold, and it took guts to say that to their face sitting in front of them. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about when Joey Badass sat in the High 97 morning show and he said, Peter and Ebro, don't you think y'all two should get up? Y'all are holding the spots for the next Peter and the next Ebro and the next generation of just waviness and flyness. And then Ebro said, you got to come take it.
Starting point is 00:27:11 You got to come take my seat. Now, I originally got really mad at him saying that until I remembered it was Ebro and he just trolls. He just trolls, trolls, trolls. So even that was a troll. But I'm still mad at the troll. was a troll but I'm still mad at the troll I'm mad at the troll even because that frame that that train of thought is what has corrupted this industry for so many years when I was trying to get a deal in whatever year that was 96 I had a hard time getting a deal because everybody I've rapped for thought I was
Starting point is 00:27:39 nice and who wants to help somebody who's nice So And I think Where Ebro was even more wrong was Joey's point wasn't saying quit your job We don't want you here anymore It was develop someone under you That's what he was getting at And that's what Ebro was like come take my spot Joey's not saying come take my spot
Starting point is 00:27:59 No one's taking your spot And that's why no one's taking the label head spots Because all you guys are best friends And no one's going to fire each that's why no one's taking the label head spots because all you guys are best friends and that no one's gonna fire each other that's not gonna happen well i think what ebro was trying to develop the kids under you that's another point which you and i spoke about this weekend that's why leor cohen is so successful i worked with leor for a short period of time when i was working for kevin lyles at kwl fucking leor sat with the assistants the interns with everyone and he would ask them questions every day
Starting point is 00:28:26 because he knew that's who he was selling music to. He wasn't talking, as much as he talked with Todd and Kevin, he was talking to us more. All right, what do you think about this? I'm selling to y'all. I'm not selling to Kevin. Kevin's my peer. Kevin's been in this game for 40 years.
Starting point is 00:28:41 Lior's very in tune, and I think his success kind of reflects that. Lior's at YouTube tune and I think his success kind of reflects that. Lior's at YouTube now. Shout out to him. I think Ebro's point was Hot 97 has some young talent that they're grooming. So Deani, Scotty Beam
Starting point is 00:28:59 seems like the young talent that they're grooming. I don't know who else because I'm not so familiar. I mean, but Deani's been up there. Marissa was there. Her nickname is. Deani, it's kind of been, she's been there for a while, but it's been new with the development,
Starting point is 00:29:15 and I don't think it's been as quick as it should be because Deani's very talented and very popular amongst people of her age group who they don't have listening to their radio anymore. They have people that are in their mid-30s that are driving to work in, you know, North New Jersey.
Starting point is 00:29:30 If they're trying to get these people back on to Hot 97 and make it relevant amongst young people, no one wants to hear someone twice their age talking about something
Starting point is 00:29:39 they know nothing about. Don't say that. Don't say that when I just got my morning show. Yeah, right? That's funny. But I think that's what Ebro said in the tweet, too. He had don't say that. Don't say that when I just got my morning show. Yeah, right. That's funny. But I think that's what Ebro said in the tweet, too. He had said something like that.
Starting point is 00:29:49 What? What do you know? Look, old nigga's still holding up spots. They trolling. No, I know he's trolling, but I'm just saying that's what he, you know. I'm not paying none of that trolling shit no mind that Ebro be doing. I think that he should stop doing it. I think it confuses people.
Starting point is 00:30:03 Yeah. Because when you live in your intellect You just assume that other people have it So you trolling and people don't understand You're just confusing people And confusion is the last thing your morning show needs But I'm not giving advice right now Because I just started mine
Starting point is 00:30:15 That's how independence also became such a layup Because the younger kids were saying There's no way I'm going to take L.A. Reid's spot L.A. Reid is extremely talented I'm not taking away from him He should stay there He's done so much great for music But let me just go independent Because I'm going to take L.A. Reid's spot. L.A. Reid is extremely talented. I'm not taking away from him. He should stay there. He's done so much great for music. But let me just go independent because I know how to work the internet and I know how to upload something.
Starting point is 00:30:31 I can sell directly to people my age. Now, if these older people in these labels had these people around them, they would have hopped on that right away. I don't think L.A. Reid know a fucking thing about rap. Well, he's always been a more... Not a thing. Anybody in music... He did some good at Def Jam, even post-J,
Starting point is 00:30:49 as far as rap goes. He's done a lot of good. Well, no, I'm saying just hip-hop. He's a legend, he's iconic, he's done hip-hop good. He's done good. He's been here too long.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Of course he's done good. I still don't think he knows shit about rap. Just because he didn't put out your second album? No. My second album was trash. My second album was trash. My second album was trash.
Starting point is 00:31:07 That shit was trash. Yeah, what is he talking about? Wasn't nobody putting it out. Yeah, I wouldn't have put that out. Looking back, that shit was trash. Yeah, I'm not mad at him. He made the right decision. But no, not because of that.
Starting point is 00:31:16 I'm just saying, I think that new, innovative people need to start taking up some of the seats. And granted, they won't take L.A. Reid's seat because he's at the top of the food chain. But here, I'm not just going to speak for young people and say we have all the answers. Because I think, to your point, young people need to shut up and listen, right? There's such a combative relationship
Starting point is 00:31:37 between older people in the music industry and younger people because older people are not giving up shit. I'm staying in this cushy office for the rest of my life. My friends are not going to fire me. I'll be here forever. Great. And the younger people are not giving up shit. I'm staying in this cushy office for the rest of my life. My friends are not going to fire me. I'll be here forever. Great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:48 And the younger people are looking at that like, fuck you. I'm not going to listen to you because I know I got to do this shit on my own. So there's just two people going back and forth with nothing good coming out of it. And that's where we get Joe saying, yo, you young people need to shut the fuck up. And then there's young people saying, for what? What are you doing for me? I got to do it all for myself now. And this is my era. And I know who I'm selling to shut the fuck up and then as young people saying for what what are you doing for me i gotta do it all for myself now and this is my era and i know who i'm selling to so fuck you but there's so much great that an older person in the music industry can tell you because
Starting point is 00:32:14 of course it's changed with the internet but it's still the music business that's never going to change they have a lot of insight in dealing with that and it's just not going to work out if we keep going back and forth with Joey saying, yo, develop someone and Ebro saying, fuck that, take my spot. There's nothing productive for any of us in that whole entire
Starting point is 00:32:31 five second clip. Sure it is. Now I'm just going to take a spot. Well, yeah, I was going to say, you know, now you create platforms for yourself now. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Exactly. And as long as people continue to do that, then we'll continue to have good platforms and not have to deal with fuck shit from the likes of Ebro on his morning show. But shout out to Ebro on the morning show.
Starting point is 00:32:51 Do we want to touch 50 and the girl? I don't know if that's news. No, it's news. No, it's news. We don't even know if we're really connected because she was twerking on stage right afterwards. Yeah, I think it was just a case of 50 just assumed that a guy pulled him and he was just trying to get him off. Then when he saw it was a girl, he was like, oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:33:15 I agree. I didn't mean to hit you. You perform. You know how it is. You perform. It's my point. Remember they killed Afro Man when he was sitting there jamming on the bass and that chick snuck behind him and he fucking. Yeah, he went crazy.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Wait, he bugged out. Yeah, yeah, he went crazy. And he's Afro Man. The chick snuck behind him on stage and he turned around and just fucking punched her because he thought someone was rolling up on him. Yeah. That's not even the worst one I saw. I've seen, I can't even pronounce his name, Stephen Badabuchi.
Starting point is 00:33:42 I don't know. Stephen Badaduchi. He used to have the show on whatever. Anyway, he body slammed somebody that came on stage one time. He wasn't the one. The listeners will tell me his name because I'm fucking it up, but Steven Badaduchi? Once we confirm who that is, he's not the one to play with.
Starting point is 00:34:01 The older white guy Who has some addiction issues Who The beginning of the show The beginning of the show He was telling you He wasn't the one Cause it was I've just been on
Starting point is 00:34:12 Allegedly Like Oh yeah yeah yeah Homeboy It's something like Bada Bada Bucci Whatever his fucking name is
Starting point is 00:34:20 Yeah something like that I thought Rory would know He looks like Rory Yeah he's a I look like mad people though All y'all white people But 50's been saying this forever man He said it in his lyrics
Starting point is 00:34:32 I've never been arrested for nothing domestic But I ain't gonna lie I punched a bitch in her eye What's on puppy love I didn't sit around emotional crying I caught the bitch on the avenue and punched her in her eye Yayo said something Something My man 50
Starting point is 00:34:46 He was like This is It's documented already You making it too hot With niggas that can fight Yeah I feel like I'm snitching Yeah I'm done I'm done
Starting point is 00:34:53 Look at you now Backing off the stand Since you've been on it For the past two episodes Hold up I've already These are songs I've already beefed with 50
Starting point is 00:35:00 I'm quoting a whole song Oh wait So this is my question That I'm asking academics now Cause he's young And he don't know shit So I'll ask y'all What rapper has had the most beefs?
Starting point is 00:35:10 You It is right? Yes By far Yeah By far Nobody else has I don't think
Starting point is 00:35:18 The most beef that's mattered? No Rat beef The most rat beef You I'd have to fact check that It's you It's nobody else even close I think it's me too But I don't want to say me No it's you The most rat beef. You. I'd have to fact check that. It's you.
Starting point is 00:35:27 It's nobody else even close. I think it's me too, but I don't want to say me. No, it's you. Game? No, you. Game is up there. Game is up there for sure. You said most.
Starting point is 00:35:36 I said most. It's you. And now I think about it, everyone that gained beef with you kind of. And not only that, I think everybody you beefed with started because of you. Yeah. That's crazy. That's crazy. You started all your beefs.
Starting point is 00:35:56 That's crazy. Misunderstandings. I'm easily misunderstood. Yeah. That's a good stat to have. I'm proud of that. You are proud of being misunderstood? No.
Starting point is 00:36:06 I'm proud of having the most beefs. How many have you won? That's what really matters. That's debatable. Anyone can start beef. That's for the fans to decide. But once academics said, name them, and then I started to name them, not only did I beef with a lot of niggas, I beefed with the greats.
Starting point is 00:36:25 I didn't just shoot at a... Let me not diss somebody now. Yeah. See, look. It's tough to say Hove, Fifth, and Wu-Tang when you're about to start your resume. Look who this nigga beefed with. That's crazy. It is crazy.
Starting point is 00:36:38 I'm glad you said that. And Drake, kinda. So yeah, you got some pretty high names there. Drake and Wu-Tang. You could tell I'm off Yeah That ain't even four people You pick to beef with
Starting point is 00:36:50 You tried to beef with Eminem too You tried it On Slaughter Mouse Might still be I'm just saying you tried it You tried it But you know Em know you
Starting point is 00:37:01 So he's kind of like Man that's just Joe Em loves me Yeah I know I saw Paul two weeks ago in the complex building. I chucked that nigga to do sex. Wait. Slaughterhouse album.
Starting point is 00:37:12 I'm coming to you. Wait. I see Paul getting a head nod through the glass window. Hey, Paul. Yeah. You really are industry now. That's great. No, I'm just saying.
Starting point is 00:37:20 Head nods in the office. I'm up there to work. So I ain't there to talk about Slaughterhouse. Yeah. And you ain't there to work, so I ain't there to talk about Slaughterhouse. And you ain't there to, well, maybe you are there to talk about Slaughterhouse. I doubt Paul was that complex to talk about Slaughterhouse. I think he was. Oh, well. Sorry, all that got to go through Joe now.
Starting point is 00:37:36 I hear you. Sorry. Joe's going to push back his own album. Yeah. 2036. Dropping. Basically. I don't give a fuck. All right, let's see what else we got good here. Own album Yeah 2036 36 Dropping Basically I don't give a fuck
Starting point is 00:37:46 Alright let's see What else we got good here Oh I want to shout out New York I want to congratulate New York for becoming The first state to offer Tuition free
Starting point is 00:37:54 Four year college Now I read that And I was really excited About it Until I read the small print And it's mad shit They want you to do To go to
Starting point is 00:38:02 Community college In New York It's not community college. It is community college. No. That's a four-year college. Like Albany, Binghamton, New Paltz. Those are four-year schools.
Starting point is 00:38:14 They've all passed. Unless I read it incorrectly. I could have. I read that it's a community college that is doing this. You have to attend for four years. After you graduate, you have to live in New York for four years. But community colleges, aren't you only there for two years?
Starting point is 00:38:30 You asking me? Chris is saying yes. Are you asking me about college? They said all SUNY schools, right, Chris? I don't know. I'm not fact-checking this shit. That's not community college. It's real four-year schools. State universities. I don't care. That's a big difference between free community college and a free four-year fucking school. It's a big difference. Alright, so explain the differences. I don't care, nigga. I ain't going. That's a big difference between free community college and a free four-year fucking school.
Starting point is 00:38:46 It's a big difference. All right, so explain the differences. I don't know. Community college is what you would do to get your grades up to then get into a four-year school. Who the fuck would do that? Wait. People trying to contribute to society. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Unlike people that scream on Complex. You're not telling me that I have to go to a college in my community for two years before I could go to the college I want to go to? Yeah, but you only have to do- Why the hell would I do that? You only have to do two years
Starting point is 00:39:13 at the four-year school after that to graduate. Oh, whatever. I only have to stay home. How about that? And write a rhyme. What the fuck are you talking about? That sounds like a lot.
Starting point is 00:39:22 Anyway, I'm all for that. Let's see. What do we care about Do we care about Quavo and Carucci No What happened with Quavo and Carucci
Starting point is 00:39:29 They're dating No they're not They are She got into his car Yes And a picture was taken So that means So that's dating
Starting point is 00:39:37 And they're engaged In 2017 Yes Baby on the way That is what that means She had a little bump Quavo not soldier boy either Quavo might actually Shoot you He just dressed nice I wouldn't I had a little bump Quavo not Soulja Boy either Quavo might actually shoot you
Starting point is 00:39:46 Shoot who? He just dress nice I wouldn't I wouldn't fuck with Quavo Shoot Oh Now Maybe a Chris Brown
Starting point is 00:39:53 A Chris Brown Quavo beef is coming That's what I was suggesting Chris Brown is somewhere Writing the greatest R&B record In his career right now Guaranteed Chris Brown put that Privacy record out the other day
Starting point is 00:40:02 And I like it a lot But I don't see nobody Talking about that shit That record is dope Every Chris Brown record that Privacy record out the other day, and I like it a lot, but I don't see nobody talking about that shit. That record is dope. Every Chris Brown record is dope. Yeah, that record is dope. But I don't see nobody talking about that shit. Niggas don't talk about nothing more than a date, man.
Starting point is 00:40:14 That's just what it is. How do we stop that? It's just too much access to too much music, man. We have too much music every day. Niggas that ain't even on. You find a dope artist on soundcloud and listen to his shit like you don't it's just too much access to too much music because amazing albums are going in a week which is yes it's just too much and we are music overload right now
Starting point is 00:40:36 shit everything overload do y'all think jenna jackson is a gold digger no yes it's all right we can say it. Say it. I said it. Maul said it. Can you be a gold digger with a lot of money? Yes. That's the new gold digger. Gold diggers have their own shit now.
Starting point is 00:40:51 They just doubling up their shit? They're just trying to acquire more. Wait, that's a misconception. I'm not even mad at that. But that's a misconception that because you're not broke, you can't be a gold digger. Those are the gold diggers. I guess if you're just a successful gold digger, you... All right.
Starting point is 00:41:03 I stand corrected. Janet Jackson married homeboy Saeed Mahmood Abdul-Raouf. Hold on, before we go any further, put me on, I don't know what their relationship was like. He could have been wilding. I don't know. It just looks sketchy that the prenup was for five years and she left after five years and two months. Now, he might have been a dickhead. She might have been going through the worst relationship of her life.
Starting point is 00:41:23 We don't know. We don't know. We not in her bedroom. We worst relationship of her life We don't know We don't know We not in her bedroom We not in her house We don't know Yeah but we're misogynistic So let's just We gotta put that out there
Starting point is 00:41:31 We gotta be fair We gotta be fair We don't have to be fair No we have to be fair When have we ever been fair On this podcast We have to be fair When it comes to that
Starting point is 00:41:38 When it comes to a relationship And a woman Like we have to give her that Because we don't know We can't just say She left She's a gold digger and she didn't have reason to.
Starting point is 00:41:46 Like, she might have had reason to leave. When did you get all Ralph Treisman on me? I'm not, I'm just saying, that's just real. Nigga,
Starting point is 00:41:52 I had a girl's whole life. He told me, we gotta respect the, we weren't there. Who you trying to impress? Every time you say that, I get like three text messages. No,
Starting point is 00:42:01 not every time you say that. You already got your limited edition Kingdom Come hat. You already got your limited edition Kingdom Come hat. You got this fucking fancy thermal long john
Starting point is 00:42:12 shirt. Nah, it's hard though. It look like it should say Carhartt right there. Oh my God, man. For real, what's up with you? Where you going after this podcast? Uptown.
Starting point is 00:42:20 Chilling. Got on the crispy shell toes. That was a fresh out the box. Did y'all see the Troy Ave interview? Yeah. Wait, did we just get, oh, yeah, fuck the Janet Jackson. All right, let's go to the Ace story. You said she's not a gold digger.
Starting point is 00:42:34 I don't particularly care. Let's move on to the Ace story. Janet Jackson's definitely a gold digger. But I'd be a gold digger, too, for 500 million. 500 million is enough to make you do some things that you probably wouldn't do. I'll be a lot of diggers for 500 million. 500 million is enough to make you do some things that you probably wouldn't do. I'll be a lot of diggers for 500 million. Word. Any digger that you want to say I am for 500 million,
Starting point is 00:42:49 I'm there. Right. What was the new shit we were just talking about just now? Oh, Troy F. I had a guest coming, and I don't have guests coming. Well, I normally don't have guests. Let's not say who we had coming,
Starting point is 00:43:01 because we might still have. No, I ain't having them. Another date? No, no. I having them. It might pass by now. No, no. I don't think that'll pass. That's something that needs to be addressed. Well, when I spoke to him, he was like, it's not much I could say because of legal matters, of course. And then I said, you know, I said, I really just want you there so you can confirm the amount of times that I tried to intervene.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Oh, so it's about you, not even the fans. I'm a narcissist, Rory. I find a way for everything to be about me. I don't know if I agree with that. I eat all your beefs. Look at everything coming full circle. You beef the most because, oh, wow, we're making some progress here. You might be a culture forwarder.
Starting point is 00:43:43 I'll see where you're going with this. See? See? Finally. No, he's a Joe forwarder. I see where you're going with this. See? See? Finally! No, he's a Joe forwarder. It's all about him. He just happens to be in the culture.
Starting point is 00:43:51 If I'm a Joe forwarder, I should have been fired. I should have been fired from being a Joe forwarder. Right. But like you were saying, he couldn't talk about it because of legal matters.
Starting point is 00:43:59 He couldn't talk about it because of legal matters and I wanted him to come here because I tried to intervene multiple times just to say something. Partly because I cared. Another part, just because it was issues that I'm sensitive with, i.e. suicide, i.e. depression, i.e. weirdos. Troy Ave on his way up, he dissed all of those things a lot, a lot.
Starting point is 00:44:23 So because Hovain, I think, is a cool dude, I hit him. I've spoken to Troy about this. Like, I just tried. I say all that to say I watched that Doggy Diamond interview where Banga's brother, Trife Gangsta, was interviewed. Real good interview. Shout out to Doggy Diamond. I then watched the Troy Ave interview with The Breakfast Club.
Starting point is 00:44:43 I then hit my group chat about the Troy Ave interview on Breakfast Club. Then I text all my friends that weren't in my group chat and said, y'all should watch the Troy Ave interview on the Breakfast Club. Then I invited friends over to my house to watch the Troy Ave interview on the Breakfast Club. And then that night, I watched the Troy Ave interview again The Breakfast Club, and then that night I watched the Troy Ave interview again with my girl on The Breakfast Club. Now that I've said that, that's probably one of the greatest interviews I've ever seen in my life.
Starting point is 00:45:14 That's number one. Since you've watched it ten times, speak on it. Number two, I'm afraid of Troy Ave. I'm scared to death for him, and I am scared to death of people like Troy Ave, people that have or seem to have very little regard for human life, his or someone else's. It's scary. So listening to him talk as many times as I did, he said a lot.
Starting point is 00:45:46 I try my best to avoid people like that. I found it kind of interesting, and I know I've seen people comment on the fact that he was doing the interview with Charlamagne, who is friends with Tex. What is y'all's take on that? Because I don't mind that. That's Charlamagne's job. Charlamagne's a professional. Yeah. I think he can distinguish between the two, right?
Starting point is 00:46:17 Yeah. And at that, the facts of the case have not actually came out at all. So right now I'm doing my job with someone who at the moment people want to hear from. My only problem with- I will say he was a little quieter than usual. I'm not saying he was silent. He should have been. He should have.
Starting point is 00:46:35 That was radio gold. I keep hearing people say that Charlamagne was quiet. Let him go. When you have a nigga up there Speaking the shit that Troy Ave was speaking You just let him go Just go Why would I jump in
Starting point is 00:46:50 Well that was like when we said Tax in the Beans interview Tax said like three words And it was the perfect interview No that's different No of course it's different Tax said three words Because out of respect
Starting point is 00:47:03 Yeah but also Beans was going on his own You didn't need to interrupt him With a question that didn't matter No, of course it's different. Tax said three words because out of respect. Yeah, but also Beans was going on his own. You didn't need to interrupt him with a question that didn't matter. Of course. I think Charlemagne, of course I can't prove this. This is just from what I saw. To your point, I think Charlemagne was also a little uncomfortable as well as any human being would be with what's happened with this case and his not involvement in the case, but his friendship with Tax, who's now jammed up
Starting point is 00:47:25 on the gun. Why should he be uncomfortable? A friend is a... I mean, if there's some... Why should Charlemagne be uncomfortable? If there's some type of...
Starting point is 00:47:31 His friend is involved in the situation. No, I'm talking about with Trav though. Why should he be uncomfortable interviewing Trav? Because his friend is involved directly
Starting point is 00:47:39 in that situation with the guest. But that situation went on for years. Yeah, but I mean now it's at a different level though. I know. So, and that's my... guest. But that situation went on for years. Yeah, but I mean, now it's at a different level though. I know. So, and that's my point.
Starting point is 00:47:49 It's a much different level than some podcast to tweet shit. This is way fucking different. But that's my point. So when y'all watch that interview, when I watched that interview, it didn't bother anybody that maybe, just maybe,
Starting point is 00:48:02 and we don't know this, maybe if Charlamagne and Troy have that conversation sooner, maybe some things happen differently. Because Charlamagne maybe can get through to Tex. That's after everything is said. And I'm not blaming Charlamagne, of course not. I'm not that stupid. But that was just like a weird twist to me.
Starting point is 00:48:23 And then I had to watch the interview again because I forgot that dynamic. So then I wanted to go back and see Charlamagne's interview style with this guy. I just say keep, I'm going to pray for Trav. I just want to pray for Trav. I had a whole long hot take to get into all of the stupid shit that he said and maybe ways that this could have been avoided. But after watching that Trav gangster interview, like. I think that, first of all, you know, you got to remember life was lost,
Starting point is 00:48:49 so rest in peace to B. Yes. 100%. Condolences to his family. But I think that that Trife Gangsta, his interview, he spoke from a place where I think everybody totally understood what he was saying and where he was coming from. And things he was saying made sense, you know what know i mean when you take the whole thing into account but above all of this
Starting point is 00:49:09 man the entire situation to me is just so unfortunate man because i feel like it's so much shit that happened and i still really don't know why any of this happened like that's the crazy part about all this shit i still don't even really understand how it even got this far and all of these events happened what happened don't know what happened. Yeah, like, I'm just saying, like, we know that whatever happened in that room, it should have never came to that, is what I'm saying. Like, I still don't understand the whole thing, honestly. Like, I really don't.
Starting point is 00:49:34 But it's just unfortunate because I think there's so many people involved that had so much going on, so much positive shit going on for themselves. And it's just unfortunate, man. Like, you know, as guys growing up in the hood in the hood man seemed like we always get in our own ways at some point and my thing is we got to stop doing it we got to stop getting our own way and we got to start noticing when we find our lane and we doing some dope shit stay there you know I'm saying fuck all that other shit in the past and all that negative shit stay on that dope shit and keep doing what
Starting point is 00:50:02 you're doing over here like and we got to stop getting in our own way man but sometimes your ego will void your progression and like i've said before the energy that you manifest you eventually have to face so you should be very careful with the type of energy that you create especially when egos are involved that will halt your progression for positive things egos i like that word That word popped up a lot when I was watching this interview because he just kept giving off information without knowing he was giving off information. At one point, there was a five-minute stretch where he sounded like him and his mom were aggravated
Starting point is 00:50:42 that Banger's family decided to bury him in North Carolina. Yeah. I mean, but that's everything that Trife touched on. That's why I said everything that he touched on. Watching that Trife gangster interview was so informative to me. Well, shit. Well, shit, Troy touched on it too. But when Trife said it, I understand.
Starting point is 00:51:02 When Troy said it, it's like confirmation. But when Troy said it, I understand. When Troy said it, it's like confirmation. You're not really sitting here telling me that you calling the deceased's mother to say, why are you burying your child in North Carolina? Yeah. Who the f— Yeah. Trife handled that interview better than I would.
Starting point is 00:51:20 I would have been screaming. After I watched that Troy Ave interview And you're speaking Those type of words About my mother Who just buried her son That's my brother You can tell Trife is an OG He's an older head
Starting point is 00:51:32 No he handled that beautifully He's not You know what I mean He's an older Definitely an intelligent guy And it sounded Like You know I take him at his word
Starting point is 00:51:40 I don't think he wanted to be there Sitting there doing an interview I think there was a million Other things he'd rather been doing. But because that Troy Avenue view surfaced, everybody's family has to have a representative
Starting point is 00:51:51 to speak for the family. Yeah. It's unfortunate all the way around. It is funny though after all that that Troy is now calling these other rappers weirdos.
Starting point is 00:52:03 They were the weirdos. I find that very ironic how come nobody what's wrong with saying he was wrong about that why he won't say that when like when charlamagne asked him that at the end i remember he was calling niggas weird so forth and so on i mean but you had to listen to the first hour or what we've already seen and what troy has given out to the public he's very arrogant he will never admit if he's wrong he will dance around a reason to make himself right even if he sounds stupider to do so but i also think i'm not i won't be a i'm not a i've never been a tray of defender here but
Starting point is 00:52:35 i do want to take into play that he was shot went to jail came out got shot in the head my mind's gonna be a little fucked up let's keep in i know he's had all these semantics before but let's also keep that into play i know it's cool to kill troyad but let's remember as much as he kept saying i got a bullet in my head and he's trying to sound like pock and we can laugh about that he still has a bullet in his head let's take that into consideration yeah my mind's gonna be traumatic yeah too. And I think, which is so ironic but sad about this whole thing with depression
Starting point is 00:53:08 and mental illness, I think, I can only speculate, but I think Troy Ave is going through a lot of mental illness right now. I think his brain
Starting point is 00:53:16 is going nuts and all he knows how to do is say, hey look, I spent a million dollars checking Instagram since I got out of jail. I think this whole-
Starting point is 00:53:24 Word, right? This was a traumatic experience. Your friend died in front of you you're shot you come out people are still trying to kill you he's gonna be traumatized but he's got to play it off because that's the persona that he's given to the world forever and now he has to keep up with that persona which is why it sucks to give people something you're not because you always got to keep that up and again i don't know try i didn't grow up with him i don't know if he is a drug dealer or not i do not give a fuck but he has kept up with this persona of being a tough guy and being this this brooklyn kingpin and now he's got to continue to do that through this traumatizing moment which he didn't think
Starting point is 00:53:59 he'd have to ever have to face but again back to the energy that you give to the world you now have to face and i think he's suffering through it now and back to the energy that you give to the world you now have to face. And I think he's suffering through it now. And a very important point that you made a few days ago that I'll remind you of. Because I think it's extremely important to know
Starting point is 00:54:15 who and what you support before you do it. Yes. I do remember that point that I made. I call Black Twitter to the carpet. Yep.
Starting point is 00:54:25 Call them up. Black Twitter. Oh, no. I was going to get to that after we had our little sentimental moment. Man, fuck that. I have texted all my friends included. This is not just to particular bloggers and some of you. All of you had Troy as your avi for four fucking years.
Starting point is 00:54:40 And now I don't hear none of y'all saying a word. I said it to my own friends that had it. Not a peep. How come none of y'all saying a word i said it to my own friends that had it not a peep how come none of y'all are saying anything are y'all are y'all do y'all play a part in this situation at all i'm just big on accountability i know that a lot of those guys have relationships with trey av and i know trey av dm'd all of them which makes you more because he dm'd me saying post my shit and i looked at that dm like he was out his fucking mind i don't even like promoting my shit i'm not promoting somebody else's shit and I looked at that DM like he was out his fucking mind. I don't even like promoting my shit.
Starting point is 00:55:06 I'm not promoting somebody else's shit and then he unfollowed me. That was telling to me. That was telling. I mean, that was it, period. I didn't have a point,
Starting point is 00:55:13 but. But yeah. No, I want everyone that had Troy Ave as their Ave to come clean. This story is wild. Wait, not Troy Ave.
Starting point is 00:55:24 Well, yeah, that story's wild too Mel B and Stephen Belafonte I'm forced to read it Just because that's how wild it is Y'all don't care about Stephen Belafonte Beating Mel B's ass And then taking her to court
Starting point is 00:55:37 For fucking spousal support Over the kid that they have I don't care about that Alright, fine Bill O'Reilly, wait Go ahead Do we care about that Alright fine Bill O'Reilly wait Do we care about that? Hell yeah I care about that I care about it too actually
Starting point is 00:55:53 Now that I think about it Right back to my point The energy you fucking give It comes back He's been killing Every last person That ever lost an advertiser In their fucking life
Starting point is 00:56:02 For 20 years I'm so happy To watch this happen to somebody. I hate when people lose things because that sucks but oh,
Starting point is 00:56:10 I've watched this with a smile on my fucking face. This has been great. Thank you for karma. Karma's beautiful. I see you turning a little rouge
Starting point is 00:56:17 in the face. Because I'm a little upset because he has an Irish last name and Irish people are not Republicans. I can tell it's personal. He's the worst Irish fuck on the world. Right, I can tell it's personal for you. He's the worst Irish fuck on the world.
Starting point is 00:56:27 Right, I can tell it's personal for you. Yeah, and he dragged me through the ringer back in 03, so fuck him. Oh, you were a pinhead, I believe, that he calls them? Yeah, he did call me a pinhead. Do you remember that? No, no, no. He just calls everyone pinheads that does something stupid. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:56:41 I'm not going to say what I did because it was real stupid. No, I want to. No, no. Come on. You have to. Don't make me YouTube it. YouTube it. I ain't saying that shit here.
Starting point is 00:56:48 It was for the Usher Confessions remix I did. It was just art. I didn't mean any of that shit. It was just art. I didn't mean any of that shit. Let's see what else we got here. So it's just sexual harassment that he can say.
Starting point is 00:56:59 That is good. Oh, my God. Rest in peace to St. Anthony's in Jersey City. They stopped getting high recruits, my God. Rest in peace to St. Anthony's in Jersey City. They stopped getting high recruits, I guess. Wait, they closed in St. Anthony's? Officially. I know they say it.
Starting point is 00:57:11 They say it every year. It's over. For those that don't know, St. Anthony's has been, if not number one, in the top three high school basketball team for a long, long, long time, led by Bobby. Is it Bobby Hurley or that's his son? Hurley. They're both Bobby Hurleys.
Starting point is 00:57:28 Yeah. They're both Bobby Hurleys. But I was saying to Joe earlier, I don't think Drake would let a powerhouse close in Toronto. I don't know. What do you say that to me for? Because you're from Jersey City. And I'm not keeping St. Anthony's open.
Starting point is 00:57:45 Obviously, they're closing. I went to Lincoln for a week. For a week. Yeah, I wasn't there very long. Funny shit, I think I covered everything. They had everything. T.I. on the way here, T.I. said that he created trap music. Thought that was an interesting point.
Starting point is 00:58:00 No, you didn't, T.I. Did he? He was the first. His album was called trap music so all right i never heard anybody before can someone tell me what trap music is now because when i was i'm just saying i never heard it was cheesy to me would be trap music then all the music is music that you don't want to listen to and it traps you somehow no trap music trap music is like I wasn't even clever
Starting point is 00:58:25 That was stupid Yeah this nigga I ain't like that No Man y'all whack We whack Look how fast Look how fast we whack though
Starting point is 00:58:33 No I think it's just The southern's version Like how West Coast They dubbed that music Gangsta music Yeah It's just drug dealing
Starting point is 00:58:40 Southern shit But if you remember It went from Jeezy And then I don't know If y'all paid attention, like four or five years ago, trap music became EDM music for like two summers. Like all the fucking A-tracks and major lasers of the world. That's like when hip-hop became reggae tone.
Starting point is 00:58:56 They were calling it trap music, and I was like, wait, when the fuck did electronic dance music become trap music? And then it left, and then it became Future, so I don't know, T.I. I can't say yes or no, because I don't know what the fuck trap music is. He was definitely the first person with the phrase trap music And then it left And then it became future So I don't know T.I. I can't say yes or no Because I don't know What the fuck trap music is He was definitely The first person
Starting point is 00:59:07 With the phrase Trap music I was going to say Jeezy But I guess Maybe Tim No it wasn't Jeezy But fucking What
Starting point is 00:59:19 I'm just hearing The thing with my headphones Off of that T.I. shit though Are y'all keeping up With it shit though, are y'all keeping up with it? Of course not. Are y'all keeping up with Bernice versus
Starting point is 00:59:27 Tiny? I don't usually pay attention to these things. I haven't glued to my screen. What are they doing? I just found out about it. I had to go back and do my research
Starting point is 00:59:35 to see how it even started. Yeah, they gotta be blim. They blim for sure. They have to be. Bernice is blim. They're blimming right now? Bernice has been blim before blim was even.
Starting point is 00:59:44 I'm blim about the pineapple juice I asked Bernice has been blem before blem was even. I'm blem about the pineapple juice. I asked Bernice for install. It's seven years ago, but whatever. Yeah. Shout out to Bernice. Bernice do take a little while to make a drink. Bernice makes a mean Patron straight.
Starting point is 00:59:55 Bernice was slow and BB too, actually, now that I think about it. Has anyone actually ordered a drink at a strip club? Like a real drink? Like a white Russian? Yeah. I'd just be curious to see how that would happen. Those bartenders. Like, let me get a Moscow Mule.
Starting point is 01:00:11 They definitely would. You're going to go in there, ask for a Moscow Mule. Elba's going to walk over to Panda. Google some shit. Panda's going to walk over to Linda. And at the end of that all, they're going to bring you a Coca-Losa. For real. Put a picture of Fab on it.
Starting point is 01:00:29 Like, yo, Fab said here, Coco Loso. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Oh. So I do the fucking complex shit, right? And they asked me to talk about the Frank Ocean, Hov, and Tyler song that I had never heard before. So they... Oh, you was hating.
Starting point is 01:00:43 Because that artwork is hard. I agree with you except for the artwork. No, it's not. Really? Okay, so how about this? Are we reaching here? Because I was asking on Complex, what is that song about and what does it mean? Like biking? I don't get it right. Cycling through life.
Starting point is 01:01:00 Alright. Now, I've read this somewhere, so don't put this stupid shit on me. I listened to it one time and that's what i grasped from it but i'm saying i read this hot take somewhere i'm not saying i agree i don't know this is gonna be good or is he doing some mysterious word play funny shit by dash king no like by king Bi Dash King No? Like bi king? No? He's
Starting point is 01:01:29 Like he's bisexual? He's the bisexual king Is what you're saying Now y'all are laughing at that But he's the same nigga Y'all Have y'all heard Frank Ocean's music? Is that
Starting point is 01:01:38 Is that far fixed? That he could sneak in Bi king? No I tell everybody I'm the bi king You bi for realizing that When the Channel Orange Album came out
Starting point is 01:01:48 And the Forrest Gump record I thought I deleted it Off my iTunes And I was in the shower And it came on I almost broke my foot Trying to get out the shower Cut that shit
Starting point is 01:01:55 Cause you know when you Delete a song and it plays You're like how is that still there On his shuffle Yeah Fucker wrapped himself up In a curtain Yeah I was like
Starting point is 01:02:01 What the fuck is this doing To my MacBook still That shit keep happening With me and Imani's song. Wait, wait. I'm just talking shit. Shout out to E! Blackheart in stores right now. I feel like something else is real important to happen that we missed. Do we think Hov allowed that song to go out?
Starting point is 01:02:18 Or do you think he called whatever Frank's office is at this point and screamed at him non-fucking-stop to say, why did you just let some freestyle shit where I was trying to catch a flow out to the world? That sounded like he was just rambling, trying to catch a flow or some words. I might be on to something with my... And it sounded like he recorded the shit on his iPhone and sent it to Frank.
Starting point is 01:02:38 Like, I'm playing with this. I think anytime Hov is with Frank, he tries to be extra, like, weird. Yeah. I can see that. Just chill. Just chill. Let me shut up before I fuck our fucking title deal up in my verse. Look at all this shit I be saying I'm getting. All right, what's going to happen tomorrow after we wrap this shit?
Starting point is 01:03:00 I'm all for love of hip hop. I don't even care. I don't even care. I didn't see it. I didn't watch it. I don't give a fuck what Kirk is doing, any of them are doing. It's whack. I'm not watching it. There hop I don't even care I don't even care I didn't see it I didn't watch it I don't give a fuck What Kirk is doing Any of them are doing
Starting point is 01:03:06 It's whack I'm not watching it It's a bunch of new people Yeah call me when Some funny shit happens I saw something today That said Lady Luck And Samaya Reese
Starting point is 01:03:13 Would be on next season Of Love and Hip Hop New York Check this out Mona if I see that Count me in I'm watching that one Are you the love interest For Samaya
Starting point is 01:03:23 No I am not But I'm watching that one I'm watching that one. Are you the love interest for Samaya? No, I am not. But I'm watching that one. I'm watching that. That'd be fun. Quiet as cap, I have to go back and finish watching the show that Lady Luck and Samaya are on now. What is the name of it? Royal Family?
Starting point is 01:03:36 First Ties? First Hip Hop Family? I have no idea. I should know it because my family is good friends with that family. So I should know the name. There's like 10 growing up hip hop kid shows right now that are on weird networks that i didn't even know i paid for so that's all i got on that yeah did you guys celebrate national sibling day yesterday fuck i felt bad i didn't i didn't post a picture of my brothers i uh everyone i didn't even know
Starting point is 01:04:02 what that was until like neither did i 10 o'clock at night I'm like what the fuck is nationals when did that happen but everyone's allowed to be fucking outraged now I felt attacked it triggered me a bit cause I'm an only child how come I keep saying people say I felt attacked it triggered me and how do they know
Starting point is 01:04:20 what I identify as as far as a sibling or an only child are you one of those I could be trans sibling you don't know that you identify as as far as a sibling or an only child? Are you one of those? I could be trans sibling. You don't know that. You are trans. That would explain a lot. Well, when you said the word trans, I got scared real quick.
Starting point is 01:04:32 I didn't know where we were going with the trans. Everyone is trans now. You're trans something. Okay. I'm a Libra. I don't know about trans. I'm going to write a letter to a girl. Man, if they don't get Jimmy Walker the fuck out of here.
Starting point is 01:04:44 What did he do? I don't know. Walker The fuck out of here What did he do I don't know He just Dating a conservative white girl Has Russ had the greatest Individual season ever Oh yeah Today's the last day
Starting point is 01:04:52 Of basketball season It's over No tomorrow Which is today Oh yeah Today's the last day Of basketball season A lot is happening
Starting point is 01:05:00 In the Eastern Conference You're MVP Russell Westbrook Yes Yeah Can you say otherwise By far I don't even think it's a I mean I know Harden Had a great year Harden had a great I think Harden should get happening in the Eastern Conference. Your MVP, Russell Westbrook? Yes. Yeah. Can you say otherwise? By far.
Starting point is 01:05:07 I don't even think it's a – I mean, I know Harden had a great year. Harden had a great – I think Harden should get most improved player, honestly, because I think he changed – because before this year, people were killing James, saying he wasn't a playmaker, he didn't make plays for nobody else, he was just a scorer getting to the free throw line worried about himself. This year, I think he totally changed that. The move to point guard was genius. They moved him to point guard, and then he had to pass the ball to Lou Williams and Eric Gordon.
Starting point is 01:05:29 I mean, was he a point guard? I could get 20 assists passing to Lou Williams and Eric Gordon. No, he made plays for everybody on that team. He was a point guard. I think they'll do all right. That's why I think he gets most improved player. Well, that's why you wearing this red shit. I'm not a Rockets fan. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:05:43 I'm not. This nigga switch his team every week. So wait, give me a Rockets fan. I don't know. I'm not. I'm a Lakers fan. This nigga switch his team every week. So wait, give me the Lakers draft situation and what's happening. If y'all lose... I don't know why
Starting point is 01:05:51 we keep winning games. I don't know what the fuck niggas is high-fiving. I don't know what the fuck is going on. Why the fuck are we winning games at this point? I just don't understand
Starting point is 01:06:00 these niggas. I say the same thing about the Knicks, by the way. I don't get it. What the fuck are y'all doing? The Knicks are going to get a fucking 12th pick or some bullshit.
Starting point is 01:06:06 I know it. That shit is crazy. I just don't know what the point is. You know what? And I was reading online, man. A lot of people, I'm surprised at how many people really feel like Russell Westbrook should not be the MVP. I'm surprised at that.
Starting point is 01:06:18 Like, I never thought I would see somebody average a triple. First of all, I never thought I would see that, number one. Well, they say he chases the rebounds if I'm playing devil's advocate but that's what you when you're playing basketball you chase supposed to chase a rebound yeah you're supposed to chase a rebound what they mean what they mean is he's calling a huddle in the locker room to tell the team when the board goes up y'all move and let me get it y'all move and let me get it yes that doesn't those people that are saying that have never played basketball that is impossible to do especially when it's four other people on the floor that's trying to get that rebound like that's crazy to me look bro i don't
Starting point is 01:06:55 have all the i know you don't but i'm just saying like people are just stupid man yeah i don't know ignorant question because i tapped out on the nba when the knicks did which was early why is the mock draft Boston would have The number one pick Yes They have somebody They have someone
Starting point is 01:07:09 I mean no Boston has our jerseys picked And Kevin Garnett All of that shit Kevin Garnett Pulled up his shit Oh my god Brooklyn is fucked
Starting point is 01:07:18 Brooklyn looks super trash That's nuts Well they got The Lakers at three For Lonzo I don't want him Yes you do No I don't Yes you do We don't they got the Lakers at three for Lonzo. I don't want them. Yes, you do.
Starting point is 01:07:27 No, I don't. Yes, you do. We don't need a guard. You don't want Lonzo. Well, yeah, that's true. We don't need any guards. We have multiple guards. Who you want? The kid from Duke?
Starting point is 01:07:34 Tatum? Yeah. Yes. I want him too. Yes. Well, they have the Knicks at six and projected to get Tatum. That's what mbtraft.net has to say. I don't know if Tatum makes it to six.
Starting point is 01:07:45 No, he's definitely not falling to six. I don't think he makes it to six. They have Josh Jackson at one. I like that kid. They're all wrong. That kid is, I like that kid a lot.
Starting point is 01:07:52 Are you going against NBADraft.net? Yes. I like him a lot too. How are you at.net in 2017? We got Fultz number two. Yeah, Fultz to Phoenix.
Starting point is 01:08:03 Who would be your guard if you had to pick one in this draft? Fultz? two? Yeah, Fultz to Phoenix. Who would be your guard if you had to pick one in this draft? Fultz? Him or Monk? You're big on Monk, huh? A lot of people like Monk. I got a feeling the Knicks are going to end up with Monk. I like Monk a lot.
Starting point is 01:08:17 Will I be mad at that? No. I won't. Are they getting rid of Rose is the question there, though. Yes, Rory. It's not confirmed yet. Yes, it is. You think Melo's last game is today slash tomorrow? Yes, Rory. It's not confirmed yet. Yes, it is. You think Mello's last game is today slash tomorrow?
Starting point is 01:08:28 Yes, it is. I'm not watching that. Mello will not be there next year. I don't think he will. Mello won't be with you on the Knicks? No. How do you know? I know.
Starting point is 01:08:34 This thing is in the Rockets locker room, the Knicks locker room. Mello will not be there next year. Where will he be? What a fucking waste. So give me a ball. Oh, my. You think everybody's going to the Clippers.
Starting point is 01:08:46 All right. All right. Unless I'm missing something, we can do sleepers. You were supposed to tell your L.A. story per our group chat last week. What L.A. story? About with your man, the actor. Oh, my God. Oh, wait.
Starting point is 01:08:59 I kind of want you to tell that story because it's hilarious. I do want to tell that story eventually. It's a story I told maybe our first year recording about me at Tyrese's house. But speaking of Tyrese, TGT is beefing again. The same beef. Why is that so funny? First of all, TGT is funny, number one. Let's stop there.
Starting point is 01:09:21 Them three niggas is funny together. Number two, them three niggas beefing is funny. Why are they beefing? They never been friends. What is Genuine, Tyrese, and Tank beefing about? They're beefing because on Tyrese's Breakfast Club interview, they asked him what's going on or if he saw some shit, and he went on a rant saying,
Starting point is 01:09:42 I make more money than them, that's it so that's going to be hurtful when you say yeah without a doubt uh i'd like to see them resolve it no nobody cares because this is old people music i don't i mean i love all three of them but i don't particularly care if they i know people don't care so let me ask so let me i well their first album was amazing i'd love to hear another album Oh no they make dope music So now let me ask y'all Y'all position here
Starting point is 01:10:08 Should Tyrese make more money Than the other two If they go on tour No No Genuine has more hits I don't believe in that To begin with
Starting point is 01:10:18 Yeah Huh I don't believe in that That's by default Everybody knows that already So what So you're telling me That the person with the most hits Always makes the most That's not making when you're in a group i don't
Starting point is 01:10:28 think that one person should make more than anybody else but they're not in a group i agree with them they're three they are they are in a group they're not in a group tgt is a group yeah what are you talking about everyone in slaughterhouse make the same amount of money on a show what's the show a tour let's say a tour per show And should we? Yes Yeah Why? A group nobody should ever make more than anybody else
Starting point is 01:10:50 Just to make everyone happy And to keep this thing moving forward Oh please Fuck people's happiness Are you kidding me? Who gives a fuck about people's happiness? When you're in a group Tyrese
Starting point is 01:10:56 No but forget about me I'm not talking about me I'm saying Tyrese is saying that for a solo gig Because his movies and shit Has upped the ante for him. So when he goes out, he says he gets between
Starting point is 01:11:07 25 and 30 grand. That's not far-fetched. I don't think it is. Even if he, even if Genuine has more hits, even if Tank is one of the best singers in the world.
Starting point is 01:11:18 So if I... You may be able to prove this against, but if I think in the same city, in Los Angeles, if Tyrese has a show and Genuine has a show,
Starting point is 01:11:25 I think Genuine's selling more tickets than Tyrese at two different venues. Same size. That's not what I'm saying. I want you to respond to what I'm saying. That's fine. I don't care about his fee. I'm saying who's bringing the most people to a TGT show? I think Genuine is.
Starting point is 01:11:38 So I think he should make more in that situation. No way is Genuine bringing the most people to a TGT concert. Tyrese has been in every blockbuster movie for the past 10 years. He's the most visible. He's the most famous, and he has hits as well. Yeah. He got hits too. Talk about music, man.
Starting point is 01:11:53 And people keep saying Genuine got all these fucking hits, which he does. But if I just start adding Genuine and Tyrese hits up, Tyrese ain't just far, far down on that list. He's far, but I think Genuine has more If I'm making 30,000 grand To perform somewhere Tyrese doesn't have a better album I definitely just said that
Starting point is 01:12:12 What album? What Genuine album? The Bachelor? 100% Genuine? Oh yeah that's the one Tyrese does not have a better album than that No Think
Starting point is 01:12:23 He doesn't Or a bigger hit Than Pony No He definitely has Bigger hits than Pony Pony's not even Genuine's biggest hit
Starting point is 01:12:31 I mean Pony ain't that big One of Genuine's Biggest records Genuine has a lot of hits though He has a lot of Dope Genuine is
Starting point is 01:12:39 Differences In those jeans Emoji I think the one that's Lasted the longest is Pony. That's just why I said that. I mean, numbers-wise. That's the hardest.
Starting point is 01:12:48 Numbers-wise, Differences could have done that. Throw Pony on today, and you'll recognize why Pony is Pony. Pony is one of those we still throw it on, it don't matter. That's what I'm saying. It's lasted the longest. That's why I said it's its biggest hit. I still feel like if I'm- I think he's closing a show with Pony.
Starting point is 01:13:03 I don't think he's closing it with Differences or In Those Jeans. I don't think Tyrese should publicly say those things. No, you shouldn't say those publicly, and you shouldn't feel like that when you're in a group. If we're going out as a group, we're splitting everything evenly. They clearly are not as close as they portray if Tyrese feels like that. It doesn't matter, though, but if we're going out as a group, then we should be splitting everything. That's how you keep everything from- That's how you avoid these problems, right?
Starting point is 01:13:26 I know, Mo. So I'm asking you questions because I want to learn and engage y'all thoughts. So listen. So you're telling me if they go out now, what's the purse? Let's say the purse is 30. A show? Yeah. Let's say that.
Starting point is 01:13:43 Let's say 30, 40. I get 40 grand. Split up the 40 for me Between them three Even Whatever Or if 30 and 10-10-10 10-10-10
Starting point is 01:13:50 And the other 10 to So wait one fucking second And I don't know any Figures and facts But If one of them niggas Was making a stack I agree with you
Starting point is 01:14:01 So I'm gonna stop arguing this Cause I do agree It's just a funny situation I understand what Tyrese is saying It's only Yeah but that's why it's funny though Tyrese came off An acclaimed album
Starting point is 01:14:11 His last album is Okay so tell Tyrese To go on the tour by himself Yeah there you go End it there Alright go on By yourself Yeah I don't think he
Starting point is 01:14:18 I don't think he would make the money On tour by himself That he would with Those other two And I think you have to factor everything Like I think Tank Is more involved in the studio than either of them two. Y'all keep talking about a bunch of shit.
Starting point is 01:14:29 Yeah, all of that matters to shows because that's how artists are making money right now. It's not really all sales. They should split the purse evenly. Okay, but I agree. But you don't understand Tyrese feeling like he should get more. I understand him feeling like he should get more because he feels like he's doing more. He's seen more. He's more visible right now at this point but that's because of things to do
Starting point is 01:14:49 outside of music that's not actually music actually now that you say that more if i if a tgt if a tgt show occurs tyrese probably is responsible for getting most of them people in the seats and if it wouldn't be him i would say tank is next i wouldn't say genuine genuine they fought with him the whole fucking rollout see that's another reason i kind of understand this he was the nigga well from what the reports say i love genuine i don't know i'm just reading the blogs like y'all he was the nigga mollied up they was looking at him crazy i don't remember all that that was one of the greatest videos of the last and now i'm now I'm going to turn around and take my pay down
Starting point is 01:15:27 and raise yours? Genuine is a loony tune. I'm not debating that part. But I'm still splitting that three ways because I think all three of them equally bring to TGT. Well, I'm glad I asked y'all that before this podcast deal.
Starting point is 01:15:48 That's crazy. Nigga, I will sabotage this whole fucking... I will get home on the email like, listen, I'm hearing things. I'm hearing things. I'm hearing things, man. That's crazy. Do we have sleepers?
Starting point is 01:16:03 Because I'm sleepy. I go to bed early now, man. What's crazy. Do we have sleepers? Because I'm sleepy. I go to bed early now, man. What you want me to do? We got the Oxcore, so you go first. Alright, so I will go first. Oh, LA just hit me. He's listening this week. He wants us to come. I would like to come. Oh, where's it at? What day?
Starting point is 01:16:19 I don't know if I'm going to say it on the air. Is it in New York? Yes, in New York. I have something to talk to him about, Yes, in New York. All right. I have something to talk to him about, too, so that actually is perfect timing. We didn't say he was inviting you to network, Nick. He just wants you to hear his joints. Yeah, we out there to network.
Starting point is 01:16:35 Let's build. Yeah, exactly. I'm wearing my Roc Nation hat. The let's build guy. I got to give it to you. I'm going with Mac, Not because he's my man, but because this song is actually pretty crazy. This is called Explore off the new Mac Wilds album.
Starting point is 01:16:53 After I was in stores right now or in your phone store right now. You should make this longer, Mac. You say that I'm down on my luck To me have you seen around I lost my love See baby I was gone too long I should've been home I was on the road And I've been blowing up your phone Smired and tried everything but it never worked
Starting point is 01:17:23 Think I got cold inside And the rain started to fall But she don't wanna hurt no more Said she wanna go explore, go explore They say in love is a battlefield I'm lost in the war Cause she wanna explore I try to talk to my friends just to get some help
Starting point is 01:17:52 Too many problems on her own so I guess I gotta help myself Do you do when you love her but you know she loves somebody else Guess you gotta take the good with the bad but I can't stand how it feels Alright, I let you rock a lot, Mac, cause you my man. I don't want people to think I'm taking it. Mac has gotten stronger vocally. Yes, he has. For sure.
Starting point is 01:18:18 It's music, I'm telling you. It sounds so much more grown than his last project. I love it. Shouts to Mack Wiles. Shout out to Mack Wiles. Mack Wiles will be at the pool party. Hey! Mack Wiles will be at the pool party.
Starting point is 01:18:35 That's right, you cocksuckers. I'm back, baby! Because Mack is coming. He's back. No. This ain't going to shut all this shit down. No, not because Mack is coming. Because I'm back, nigga. This ain't going to shut all this shit down. No, not because Mac is coming, because I'm back, nigga.
Starting point is 01:18:46 This ain't going to shut all this shit down. Sin already know the hoes is coming. I know. I know. The distinguished young ladies. He's going to be right at the door waiting for him. Right? Which door?
Starting point is 01:18:54 I have swings through another door. My sleeper is hard to me. So this is Day back around. I like Day. Day is really dope but this isn't the song that most people would pick off their project to me it was really dope I picked this one this isn't the one they would pick exactly because I'm not complex Oh Remy just dissed you by by the way. That wasn't a diss. But when I thought it was. Don't know what to do Just know everything you do comes back around I'm not sure Just know everything you do comes back around
Starting point is 01:19:50 I'm not sure Just know everything you do comes back around I'm not sure These days, things just ain't the same Inch change, you see it on your face You know you stay trying to catch me, miss my face Waiting to put me in my place You came on early that day Of boy I was really in love with you You swear that shit ain't in your face, you You turn around and do the same to me
Starting point is 01:20:34 You say you're done with the bullshit, had enough Cause my excuses ain't addin' up You said I see you playing games, okay that's's what's up On to the next, next, batter up Sometimes I start to wonder if You could ever learn the game Even if I ever wonder You could never do the same I got everything I wanted You just hope I wouldn't change
Starting point is 01:21:03 All you call me in the moment Oh, yeah, you had to say Just know everything you do comes back around I know what to say, you don't know what to do Just know everything you do comes back around I know what to say, you don't know what to do Just know everything you do comes back around I know what to say, you don't know what to do That was brand new from Rory
Starting point is 01:21:38 From Rory That nigga tryna Act like that was somebody outside of him. That was, I'm they? Yes. That's crazy. Might be they.
Starting point is 01:21:50 Uh, let me see the box. Oh, yeah, my bad. Yeah, but don't just say that like you got fire coming. Whenever someone
Starting point is 01:21:58 know they got fire, they can't find out, oh, yo, where that shit at? I don't know if it's fire or not. I like the record. I mean,

He's cool with Wale and them. He's from D.C. I know, and I think he's done a few songs that Iizzy now. He's a friend of the show. Austin did some shit for him. He's cool with Wale and them. He's from D.C. I know, and I think he's done a few songs that I like now.
Starting point is 01:25:09 So he's done enough that I have to go see now. No, Sha is good. He's definitely good. That's what I do. I don't wait until you catch a hot one. I wait until people have delivered enough where you're like, all right, let's check the whole catalog now. Now I have to.
Starting point is 01:25:21 Let's listen to all 70 other. Oh, we've got T.I.'s holding it down for us on that same interview. He said marriage distracts him from his goals and he can be a better friend than a husband. Thank you, T.I. Stand for the Kings. Marriage distracts him from his goals. And he can be a better friend to Tiny than a husband.
Starting point is 01:25:39 Yo, I'll name this podcast later, man. Why you hate it? 107. He trying to get to this money. She's talking about some other7. He trying to get to this money. She's talking about some other shit. I love Tip. I love Tip. Yeah, that was a pause.
Starting point is 01:25:52 I'm leaving now. Is there something we're forgetting? Probably. I'm sure. Did y'all see Power Rangers? No? No. That's a joke.
Starting point is 01:26:02 Is that a movie? Is it out? Yeah. Power's in another two months Ayy Not Power Rangers mall Yo who is Power Lorenz Tate is in the season
Starting point is 01:26:10 Coming up right Is he Yeah I saw a picture of Lorenz Tate I think he's in power this season Oh I'm rolling with Whoever's side he's on
Starting point is 01:26:19 Right I've seen that I've seen enough Wait Lorenz Tate okay I've seen enough Gangsta movies I can see I can see Lorenz Tate okay I've seen enough Gangsta movies I can see I can see Lorenz Tate Killing ghosts man
Starting point is 01:26:28 I can see it I can see them getting Ghosts out of here I can see it I can see Lorenz Tate Being the new lead I'm just saying I can see it
Starting point is 01:26:35 I can definitely see him Damn that's not far fetched now I'm trying to tell you Cause why would they bring in An actor the caliber Of Lorenz Tate Great actor I'm just trying to say And who's put in Great actor. I'm just trying to say.
Starting point is 01:26:45 And who's put in some work already. I'm just trying to say. So we already believe him. He couldn't be the new ghost. You think they're going to have Tommy get rid of ghost? It ain't about being a new ghost. It could be a whole new nigga.
Starting point is 01:26:55 With no more ghost? No more ghost. Do we watch Power anymore if Ghost is gone? Depending on the transition, yeah. Yeah, because I got to see how they do that shit. Yeah, if the transition is gone.
Starting point is 01:27:01 No, that's us. Is Power as big As it is If they get rid of Ghost That's real risky Unless you What's the show Walking Dead The Wire got rid of
Starting point is 01:27:12 All it's main characters They killed Stringer Bell In the third fucking season You gotta do it right I know You gotta do it right And I didn't see The Wire As it was airing
Starting point is 01:27:21 I saw it late And I can understand Why there was an uproar when Stringer Bell died. That was the worst TV death ever. And then when Omar died, huh? I think I was the only person that liked how Omar died. Why did you like how Omar died? Because it just proved that he survived everything, and all it takes is just a little kid with a gun in a corner store.
Starting point is 01:27:44 It makes sense. I thought that was just a dope perspective. Y'all niggas are so fucking... But Joe hates The Wire, which is the weirdest thing in the world. Who hates The Wire? Don't do that. You do. Why do you keep saying that?
Starting point is 01:27:54 I'm doing hot take, because you don't love it the way the rest of the world loves it. I'll never love it the way the rest of the world loves it, because I saw it so late. I saw it real late. I would have loved to have seen The Wire when everybody else caught it. Because to see it, that show at that time, I understand. But I disagree with you. I don't like the season three. I don't like it.
Starting point is 01:28:11 I get it. I'm just saying. Don't think that I don't get it because I don't like it. I don't like season three. I don't think they executed that. I just don't. I can see Lorenz Tate getting Omari Hardwick out of here. Omari might have had to sign off.
Starting point is 01:28:24 You know what, Maughan? You said that, and I was about to dismiss you. But I can see that happening now, getting Omari Hardwick out of here. Omari might have had to sign off. You know what, Maughan? You said that, and I was about to dismiss you, but I can see that happening now, too, and I'll be angry if that happens. Honestly. Omari got some other shit going on. Tasha's definitely going to fuck Lorenz Tate, too. 100%. Tasha fucks everybody.
Starting point is 01:28:39 That's what I'm saying. 100%. Tasha might fuck him the night he kills Ghost. Lorenz Tate is getting clapped. Tasha might fuck him The night he kills Ghost Lorenz Tate is getting clapped Tasha might help him kill Ghost Lorenz Tate is there to die We ain't even confirmed That he's there Look at us
Starting point is 01:28:52 He's already killing The main character Confirmed? A photo came out And it had power It's an official photo Now see Earlier when I said
Starting point is 01:29:02 A photo came out Of Quavo And fucking Shorty No no we knew that But we said No no no We knew that was a real photo We knew that
Starting point is 01:29:08 But yeah no He's gonna be on the show I think I'm gonna boycott power If Ghost dies No If it's done right You can't say that It's called power
Starting point is 01:29:17 Not Ghost We trusted them this far I'm gonna give them The benefit of the doubt If they kill Ghost Cause I don't really like What's the gay connect name? Lobos?
Starting point is 01:29:27 What's up with Lobos, man? That's your man. Lobos is dead. Yeah, he got killed. That's what y'all say. He's dead. No, I know they announced it. I know, I know, I know, I know.
Starting point is 01:29:37 Shot that nigga in his chest, left him in the woods. He ain't survived it. They announced it. I know. He might pop back up, though. Yeah, Lobos pop back up. I'm not watching.
Starting point is 01:29:45 See? All right. They announced it I know He might pop back up though Yeah on the Walking Dead Lobos pop back up I'm not watching See Alright Do we think Bishop is dead In juice That's a good question I think he fell on a pile of garbage When Q dropped They never showed him
Starting point is 01:29:58 That's what I'm saying I don't think he died I think Bishop is still alive man Anyone that could shoot 15 times From a six shooter Yeah he might be alive That's what I'm saying I think Bishop fell on garbage man Fuck I Anyone that could shoot 15 times from a six-shooter, yeah, he might be alive. That's what I'm saying. I think Bishop fell in garbage, man.
Starting point is 01:30:07 Fuck, I had six bullets and shot at Q 15 times. They should do a juice part, too. No, they shouldn't. No, remember they were supposed to and Soulja Boy was supposed to play. That's why you got to leave him alone. Yo, they shouldn't do a juice part, too. But just that fast, I really like the Pac trailer. I do, too.
Starting point is 01:30:26 I know we clowned Imani When he said it in the group chat No only because I said That's it The trailer is supposed to have you Feeling like the movie's going to go Imani hit the group chat and said I really like that trailer Looks like the movie's going to be good
Starting point is 01:30:35 That was the point Imani Of the trailer Yeah I'll take my prediction I think it's going to be better than Notorious Put that down That won't be hard I know
Starting point is 01:30:44 That was my bold prediction Notorious. Put that down. That won't be hard. I know. That was my bold prediction. Notorious wasn't terrible. Yeah, it wasn't terrible. Those pictures are just tricky, man, because you can't fit so much. But, you know, you can only fit so much in that movie. But I just hope that they just touch on certain shit that they need to touch on. I mean, that kid has spent his whole life trying to master Pac. Gravy just is from Brooklyn And rapped
Starting point is 01:31:05 No but Gravy is still big He did a phenomenal job What movie is better Notorious or Get Rich Well I mean They're not really comparable to me I would say Notorious I mean they're both
Starting point is 01:31:16 One had to stick to a storyline Get Rich didn't I would say Notorious Is still a better movie though Why did Notorious Have to stick to a storyline Because it was a biopic. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:28 Get Rich is loosely based. Very loosely based. Some say the same about Notorious. I know it's supposed to be a biopic but y'all remember it was mad people
Starting point is 01:31:37 beefing when that shit was being shot. People always say accurate stories. People can always say that. But Get Rich has more replay value to me than Notorious. Joe Budden biopic coming soon.
Starting point is 01:31:48 Oh, God. Our name is Fock Ass Later 107. I'm gone.
