The Livy Method Podcast - Getting Back on Track Without the Guilt
Episode Date: August 17, 2026Fresh off a family vacation in Paris, Tuscany and Rome, Gina Livy gets real about what it actually means to get Back On Track after summer travel, indulgences and time away from routine. She shares wh...y sustainable weight loss and maintenance are about so much more than food, exploring hydration, mindful eating, sleep, stress, movement, nervous system regulation and the everyday factors that affect how the body feels and responds. Gina also reframes “mindless” summer eating, talks through normal weight fluctuations and set point range, and reminds the Livy Community that enjoying life and staying focused on their goals don’t have to be at odds. It’s a timely conversation about mindfulness, getting back into routine and feeling your best without guilt, punishment or chasing perfection. This podcast aligns with August 17th of our Summer Club, members can find video in our Livy Method app or Summer Club Community Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/livymethodspring2026 Hosted on Acast. I'm going to be honest with you, this podcast is unapologetically a hot mess because that is what midlife feels like sometimes.
Why, though?
And how do we make it better?
Do we all just need facelifts and gLP ones?
I mean, let's talk about it.
No bullshit, no wellness wankery here because we're trying to make real change and change is hard.
But we're in this together.
Welcome to the Livy Method podcast.
Morning, I've got to remember how to do this all over again.
It's amazing how I was really away from.
two weeks. Well, I worked. I was still working and checking in part of the first week and then the second
week just completely off, trying to be in the moment, off my phone. And I feel like I've just forgotten
everything. I'm trying to carry with me my time away, especially when it comes to eating. I had the
pleasure we went to Paris, then we went to Tuscany, and then we went to Rome, 12 of us to celebrate
my husband's parents' 50th wedding anniversary.
And there was no fancy schmance restaurants or anything like that.
Some of my favorite moments were just, you know, grabbing a croissant or, you know, like a
ham sandwich.
We ate a lot of ham sandwiches.
But really indulging in really delicious, simple, healthy foods.
And we came back and we're like, okay, we've got to get groceries.
And we're like, okay, what are we going to get?
What's our, like, Italian grocery list?
The food there was insane. So when we were in Tuscany, we went to a grocery store. We stayed in this small town and we went to the local grocery store every day because there were no restaurants. I mean, I suppose there were restaurants around, but we just decided to stay where we were for the week and stayed putt. And my gosh, I mean, it makes it so much easier. The seafood selection was incredible, the fresh fruits, the vegetables, all of that. And I know we have a lot of limitations here. But I'm trying to keep that going.
I need to get back on track, of course, because I have never eaten so much pasta in my life.
I did have an opportunity to go to my favorite restaurant, the one with that absolutely delicious truffle pasta.
And I might have had a few plates of that.
But I ate all the things.
I ate all the things.
I drank a little bit more than what I like.
So I'm getting back on track.
So I don't want to talk about that because I was reading the comments today.
And some of you were also talking about kind of just how your summer isn't necessarily going as planned.
you have no regrets, but you know, you kind of want to rain it in a little bit. And so I want to
remind you a couple of things when it comes to back on track. Let me just find my questions here.
So back on track isn't just following that basic food plan, right? Because a lot of you've been doing
that anyway. It's also, it's also getting back on track when it comes to like making sure you're
drinking your water, asking those four sets of mindful eating questions getting in tune.
When we indulge and indulge and indulge, it's like we get used to eating larger portions.
We really want to check in with ourselves.
Is that actually what I need or is that just what I've gotten used to eating?
So really checking on those portions,
also checking things like sleep and movement and how you're feeling.
So I'm super jet-lake today, but I'm absolutely going to go for a walk.
Probably after this, I'm going to put on my running shoes.
Not that I need to do more walking because I did an insane about walking while I was away.
But just like, what can I do to get back to feeling my best?
And part of that is bringing my mind.
my vacation downtime mentality with me. So whether you had a vacation or a staycation or, you know,
just a couple days off here or there, how can I be intentional about calming my nervous system,
being it more in the moment, really when it comes to food, indulging in the, not just the
preparation of the food, but the fact that we have accessibility to food and all those things. And just
trying to bring that mindset with me. So back on track is more than just the food. It is also,
of course, all the other things you can focus on and more so the mindset, right? The mindset as well.
We've got a great couple weeks. We go right to the very last day around here. Just like we do
in all of the programs. So we are going to go right through until the start of our fall program.
If you haven't signed up for our fall program and you're on single session or just the summer
club, you can do that on our website. Most of you are on our membership now. So we'll tell you
everything that you need to transition over to that.
But I'm not going to talk about the fall yet, because although I have no leaves on my trees.
So we have like a ring camera, and so we were kind of checking on our place where we were
way, and I was like, why does it look like it's fall?
And I'm like, oh, it must be the grainy camera.
And then I come back, and like I have hardly any leaves on my trees.
It's crazy.
You look refreshed.
You look refreshed.
I hope it was the best vacation thing.
Thank you actually. We had the best time. It was hot and we went here there and everywhere. We had a lot of downtime. It was great spending time with the family, which was really good. I feel so uncomfortable. The more stress I'm under, I feel even worse. Okay. So I'm with you, Lisa. Although I look refreshed probably because I drank water and I had some downtime. This is exactly what I'm talking about. So I got quite a bit of stress happening. I'm trying to get this indigo book out. I am looking at a pile of.
of Indigo books and they are absolutely stunning.
Absolutely, let me show you, I'm totally probably not supposed to do this, but
absolutely stunning.
They are gorgeous.
They are absolutely insanely gorgeous.
However, however, the printer switched pages.
So they put page 285 on page 245.
So there's a bit of an issue with the print.
So I have to deal with that today.
Also just feeling the stress of getting back and having to do all the things.
And I just want to preface like I love my job.
But when you are able to take time away and then you're very conscious about the pressure when you get back.
So you can do that when you step back, right?
Then you can be like, holy shit.
There's got a lot of stress going on.
Like immediately my mind was like, got to do this, got to do that, whatever.
Like I have a bit of a pressure headache today.
And I know it's not from flying.
It's not from those things.
It's from the pressure of all the things that I now need to do.
And again, I'm so grateful.
I'm lucky and happy to be able to do all the things, right?
Like, if you have a job, you're lucky to have a job.
Like, I not, you know, I just want to say that because I think that you can be,
you can love what you do and still feel pressure.
And whether it's your job or your family or your relationship or whatever it is,
it can seem like a lot.
And so when you were able to take step back,
you're able to see the kind of pressure that you're under. Sometimes when you're in it, right, you can't.
But, you know, what I do appreciate, Lisa, is that you feeling so uncomfortable and the more
stress you're under, the worse you feel. And obviously this is about weight loss because we're looking to
lose weight. However, it's about working with your body, not against your body, and stress really
works against your body. So that is where you want to look at, what are the things that I can do to really
calm my nervous system?
So deep breathing exercises, like one of the things when I start to feel really stressed,
one of the exercises I learn and share with my daughter who has anxiety is like two quick breaths in and then exhale out.
So it seems weird, but you can feel every time you do it, your shoulders getting lower and lower and lower.
One of the things I've been doing is doing a lot of meditation and grounding exercises.
So before I even get out of bed because it's so easy to reach for my phone, go for that stress,
start thinking about all the things that I need to do.
So I stay in bed and I actually I'll link a Gabby Bernstein podcast that I listened to that was really great.
And it was talking about there's like a trigger thing that is telling you to calm down.
Mine is like lying down and kind of pretending like I'm connecting with Mother Earth through my feet.
You can put your hand on your heart.
That's one of the things that Kyle Buchanan mentioned your hands over your eyes.
Just something that signals I'm being intentional about being in my heart.
my body right now and helping it to calm down, right? Because that's what's happened. Your nervous
system is shot. And so you're thinking a certain way. Your body's reacting a certain way. You're
feeling all the stress on your shoulders. Your tummy's upset. You're feeling nauseous.
Like all of those things. And so just really taking time to be aware of that. So I've been taking
like 10 minutes before I even get out of bed. Just lying there, closing my eyes and doing some
deep breathing exercises. Not like box breathing or anything complicated, but really focusing on
exhaling, exhale the most, and you will immediately inhale, right? So a lot of people focus on
the box breathing. And if you're into that, that's fine. But if you are just, you don't need to
stress yourself out over the kind of breathing that you're doing. Focus on your, focus on exhaling as
much as you possibly can. And then inhaling as much as you possibly can. And then on your tummy, too,
if you think about a lot of people will work on their, a lot of people will work on their breathing
exercises. I'll show you. And what they do is they do it here.
right so they'll breathe in and exhale but it's not here it's actually here so if your breathing is
going up and down you're not using your diaphragm so you breathe in your tummy should expand and then
exhale go back in so just being really conscious about helping your body calm down and deep breathing
is one of the things that you can do the other thing i've been trying to do is just taking some time
to be quiet and finding that pause in my mind and so it's not like you're going to just sit there to be
like be quiet, be quiet, be quiet, be quiet, be quiet, be quiet. It's almost like you want to be
aware of all of your thoughts, but not go into any of those thoughts. Oh yeah, I got to do this.
Oh yeah. Well, if I don't do that, then I do this, whatever. You're trying to just find some
quiet time and some pausing. Stretching. Yoga is really great for that. But just being intentional
about taking the time. The other thing I do is go for a walk. When I'm having a hard time doing that
in one spot, I'll be like, okay, let me just go for a walk. I don't listen to a podcast.
don't listen to music.
I just walk and I just focus on my breathing because I find listening to music or podcast
is just distracting you in another way and it's not really intentionally helping you be
self-aware about what's going on and where you're at in your body.
Obviously things like managing your stress and stuff like that, but I find more so it's about
understanding your nervous system is shot.
You feel overloaded.
You feel that pressure.
You feel that weight on you.
So what are the things that you can do to live?
live lighter, alleviate that way. In fact, that's a lot of what my book is talking about is,
it's not weight loss. It's living lighter in your body, in your home, in your mind. Something like
clearing out your space, right? Like, just maybe you don't have the time and energy to clean out
your whole house, but maybe there's a corner or, you know, a place in the house and you can just
kind of like go that, you know, clear out a space that makes you feel good when you're in that
space and spend some time in there, even trying to ignore. Like, I came down in the kitchen. I was like,
oh, I'm going to go live from my kitchen rather than going live from my office. And then, of course,
you know, I got like leftover chicken soup. My kid's not sick. My dishes. My, you know,
I got cat food everywhere. And it's just immediate. It was like, oh my God. And then I was like,
fuck it. I don't care. But that is like, that is, that is, you have to be intentional about
so you feel uncomfortable. Why? What can I do? And it's not eating less.
exercising more. Gina, hi, Julie. Just curious, how long does it take you to get back to your weight
after a holiday like you did? I'm feeling discouraged after a mindless summer grazing. I probably,
my kid actually got on the scale and her weight was up eight pounds. She really noticed.
And I said to her, we walked miles. You ate good foods. Yeah, we might have eaten a lot of pastries
and a lot of ham sandwiches and a lot of pasta. I said to her, but you sound like you were eating
candy and junk and whatever. And you could tell, I could tell my body was like super bloated.
I did not get on a scale. I still haven't yet. If I got on this scale right now, I would say I'm
down probably about six pounds, just like in the last couple days. Just from my body being cool
because with this extreme heat, it's just, I just felt like I was just like, wow. So I probably,
I would say probably my weight went up at least 10.
10 pounds, 10 pounds, I would say.
Like, my tummy was so bloated.
Like, it was, there's a, there's a video you can see of me.
I just posted when we're in the square with those things,
then wearing a black dress.
And my belly literally, like, it was like, it was like, you can see now it's starting
to come down.
But my belly was, like, out like this.
And I was wearing spanks.
I know it's wearing spanks.
My arms felt like super jiggly.
So, you know, I've gone away, let me, I've gone away of, like, let me say, like,
one time I went away to Mexico and I drank a lot and it was hot and partied a lot.
And I got on the scale in Mexico and my weight was up about 16 pounds.
But a lot of that is just the heat, off routine, change in, you know, trying to adapt to the time change and whatnot.
I figure by going for walks, drinking more water, I wouldn't say getting back to eating, being healthier because I ate really healthy.
Just eating more in routine.
probably is probably more what I'm looking to do.
My sleep was great while I was away.
Of course, this is all messed up.
So how long does it take?
I would say, I could say it takes about,
it's going to probably take me like two weeks.
I've set aside two weeks.
So I set aside two weeks and I'm like, okay,
I'm going to be hardcore about getting back to feeling.
I felt like a fucking rock star before I went away.
I remember because I was doing those workouts.
I was following the program.
I had never felt better in a really long time.
And I went into that trip thinking, oh my gosh, I feel amazing.
I came back feeling bloated and just disgusting and uncomfortable and all that.
But spending time in 50 degree heat, we'll do that.
And I didn't do any working out.
Like my son really got into working out before we left and we didn't have a gym where we were anywhere.
So he really noticed that.
And just being off routine.
So I'm giving myself about two weeks of like really being intentional about helping my body get my weight down.
The heat, I can see it's nice and cool now, but the heat really messes with that.
And if the heat, it can take your body like days to calm down from the heat, kind of equal
and opposite reaction.
So we can take a while.
Mindless summer grazing, though.
Let's talk about that.
So I saw this thing, like on average, we have like 80 summers, right?
Obviously more if you live longer, but 80 summers.
That kind of freaked me out a little bit.
What a way to make time to go by fast?
Summers are really short.
And I think it's, is it, is it mindless eating? So one thing. So is it mindless eating and then why? Or is it just your guard is down in the moment, enjoying life at the cottage, chilling out with a friend, out in your backyard, reading a book? Like, I think it's really important because I know with the program it can be really hardcore. I think it's really important before we like,
name what we've been doing, yeah, there's something there with the mind, mindless,
mindless summer grazing. So was it actually mindless? Are you, okay, so this is what we're
talking about today. This is where I'm going with this. So today we're talking about just being,
reminding yourself of that mindfulness, right? And those, asking those four questions are just
like after a while and so I just have a bit of a break from them. But really what are you doing
with them? You're practicing being in tune with where you're at, what's going on,
what you need in terms of when to eat what to eat how much eat and so was it that where you're
going through a stressful period of time was it that you were actually just relaxed and in the moment like
what was it and i think it's good to kind of recognize that because it could be a like a combination
of a variety of different things that you have been doing so how are you feeling right so if you
if you feel like your weight is getting up what are the things like you might be attributing to your
foods but maybe it's attributed to your change in routine
or maybe you've been staying up later or do you know like is it actually the food part or is it a
combination of a variety of different things so that's why that body really loves routine that's why everyone
loves fall right like fall is kind to me fall is kind of like the new new year because after the
summer it's great you enjoy and we're supposed to and then we kind of crave that routine the summer
is kind of like one big long vacation never-ending vacation where we're still trying to life and
vacation and enjoy life at the same time, right? So how do we keep that vibe of the summer going,
but also create that routine that our body loves that helps us keep our weight down? So it can take a while.
It can take a while. But also then just make sure there isn't anything else going on. Like if your weight
is going up, like what's your environment been? What's your stressors been? What's your routine been?
How's your body feeling? Is there something going on with you physically? You know, like menopause,
for example, right?
Like, I don't know how old you are,
but anyone listening today,
but you could have done the program,
lost your weight, felt fantastic,
and then all of a sudden you're starting to go through menopause,
and you're starting to pick up on that, right?
Or, you know, whatever,
just any kind of change in your life
because you are so in tune,
you're so in tune now,
that you really start to notice
when you don't feel as good.
So what can I do?
Why do I feel so off?
All the different working parts,
so not just food, physically, mentally,
the environment, all of that, and then what are the things that I can do to kind of pull those
things together? So for me, my biggest thing isn't going to be the food because like I said,
it's not like the food has just eating good food. To me, it's asleep. It's really being mindful
of my stress levels. That's the thing that I need to focus on is my stress over the next week
because I got a lot of things going on. So I have to just be really mindful. So that's why after
this, I'm going to go for a walk. I might do a little bit of meditation because I feel like a little
bit scattered. So what is going on with you? What is going on with you? Truffles. Oh yeah, it's so many
truffles. The leaves are probably the result of the Japanese beetles. We've had some issues here.
They're eating the leaves. Oh, well, yeah, our tree, maybe. I haven't seen any beetles. I don't know
what they look like. But yeah, it's weird. A lack of rain. Okay. Locker rain. Yeah, it's crazy.
I've been bouncing around, Highland. I've been bouncing around. Hi, Linda. I've been bouncing around.
a pound or two this summer, realize I'm clinging to a few habits and stealing some bites of bits,
hoping to course correct this week.
It's always good to evaluate where you are.
I love that you've been bouncing around a pound or two this summer.
So if you can enjoy the summer and still maintain and sustain your weight, like that's huge.
It's not always about lose, lose, lose, lose.
And this is why, like, what do you got going on in your life?
And all the little things you are doing are worth your attention.
But the intention doesn't always have to be lose, lose, lose.
You can be doing things for like, okay, let me enjoy my life and maintain while still
working with my body so that when I switch over into, okay, now I'm super focused on losing.
Like, I'm ready for that, right?
I'm ready for that, right?
So that's a good thing.
Welcome back.
I need this today.
I had a busy, hi Amy, busy two weeks of fun and overindulging in humidity and definitely
feel heavy.
plus the scale is up, ready to be mindful and get back on track. Yeah. Oh yeah. And you know,
it's great. It's so great to go away and indulge. And that's where you start to feel like,
okay, you crave that routine because your body loves that routine. And so, all right, let's go.
Let's go. It's not like, oh, I have to get back and I got to do this and I got to do that.
It's just like, okay, well, I'm excited about getting back to feeling my absolute best.
I'm excited to get getting back to how good I felt before. I honestly thought it's
going. I honestly thought it was going to keep that going. I honestly thought it was going to keep
that going. I thought, I'm going to roll into this trip feeling freaking fantastic. It's hard to do that
when your sleep is off and your eating is here, there, and everywhere, and you're not in the same
routine. Of course you're going to feel off, right? Of course you're going to feel off.
I gained a bunch of pounds this summer, but would like to move to maintenance. Hi, Bobby. Can I
work on those pounds and be in maintenance or should I wait? I also realize I can drop those two pounds
before September. Be curious as to what I should do. Well, you have great options. So now on the
membership, you have access to both programs.
So they all start on September 14th. You can do the weight loss session or you can do the maintenance
session. It is all about intention. That's what I would say. So you don't want to do the maintenance
program with the intention to lose weight. Although you start following along in the maintenance
program, your body's not looking to store any excess fat anymore than you do. So it's not unusual
for people to lose weight while they are doing the maintenance program. It's all about the intention
behind how you are showing up.
So what you don't want to do is do the maintenance program
and every day you're obsessed with those two pounds on the scale,
try to see those two pounds down on the scale
when really you're not showing up in a way
where you're going to see those two pounds move, right?
There's enough time between now and when we start
for you to easily lose a couple pounds
or to reach your goal weight.
What did you say here?
Can I work on those pounds and maintenance?
Yeah. Like so so why would like or maybe you just want to say fucking let me just enjoy the summer and you don't even want to go there and worry about weight, which is totally fine. And you would just kind of want to wait until the fall. You can you can start with the you can start with the weight loss program. Switch over to maintenance if you wanted to. It's like very similar in terms of like what you were doing each week. The intention and the information though is completely different. The conversations are completely different. I would decide when you when you're closer to the fall. We still like I said there's.
almost like three, three weeks, four weeks away until we start. So I would be like, how would you
feel if you went into maintenance and how would you feel if you did another round of the weight loss
program and kind of go with the one that you feel is the right move? Because at any time,
you can switch back because you have access to both of those. So the exciting thing is that you're
ready for maintenance, which is really great. One of the things you'll realize in maintenance too,
so people will work really hard to see their goal weights and like do all the things to see their goal weight.
and then they get into maintenance and realize, well, if they're not doing all the things
to see their lowest low every day, chances are you're going to stay more in your set point range.
So your set point isn't just one number.
Your set point isn't your lowest low.
Your set point is about a 10-pound range above your lowest low.
So for example, when you're eating more carbohydrates, breads or postas or things like that,
which you obviously still want to avoid when you're in active maintenance.
But it is normal for your weight to be up a little bit.
It's not real weight gain.
It's just your body retains more water in order to process those types of carbohydrates.
If you are not managing your stress and moving your body and doing all the things like you were doing to see your lowest low, you're probably not going to see your lowest low every day.
Like, you're not trying to see your lowest low every day.
I'm not trying to move the down on the scale.
You're just trying to maintain where you're at.
And just like you have fluctuations when you're losing weight.
You also have your weight, your body naturally fluctuates.
while you're maintaining your weight and living your life. Always did always well. And so that is sort of
where you got to get into your set point range. So it's normal to have your weight up about three to seven
pounds while following the maintenance program. If you're not being as diligent as you were when following
the weight loss program to see that scale move. Right. So that's sort of where you really want to be prepared for that.
And that is where like you want to make sure you're at the weight that you're like, okay, this is my good low weight.
what would be my higher range in my set point, and now I'm ready for maintenance.
So that's something to think about.
Hi, Monica.
I didn't know how much I needed to hear about working through stress to this minute.
Yeah, you know, the program has evolved so much.
Obviously, we talk a lot about stress and sleep and moving our bodies and so much.
It's really about, like, it's really about showing up and how to do that when life gets stressful.
It doesn't make it easy for you.
and dealing with all the things that you're dealing with, right?
So work stress, financial stress, if you still have young kids,
your kids going away, them being young, them growing up,
doesn't make the stress going away.
That's for sure.
And it's really about that.
I've been thinking a lot.
There's a lot of conversation happening out there in the diet industry right now.
There's like, I don't know, diet wars and menopause wars and everyone's just talking.
There's not enough context in conversations that are happening out there in social media.
not enough context in the conversations that we're having with health care providers.
Right.
Like, let's say like a Dr. Beverly psychologist, it's great.
You're having an issue.
You go with them.
They help you try to figure out that issue.
But they're not giving you the full understanding as to its benefit, how to keep that going.
Like it's or your doctor, right?
You go to your doctor.
I have a problem.
But he's not giving you the whole backstory or understanding.
There's no context to anything that we do anywhere.
Everything is based on these like 30 second or one minute.
videos that maybe, you know, someone is sharing out there on social media, including me.
And that's why I love that we get to talk more in depth about that here in the program.
That's why we're going to bring a lot more, get new guest experts and have a lot of different
conversations because there's just so much more to it. There's just so much more to it that
nobody is really getting into and talking about. It's like all these surface conversations,
then all this, like you should be expected that you should be able to lose your weight. But
meanwhile you have all these things going on in your life and having a hard time understanding.
Okay, I'm doing this.
Why is this not working?
And I just find that we need to really go deeper and have conversations that no one's having.
So I'm really looking forward to that.
Wendy, diagnosed with Achilles tendonitis.
I'm taking anti-inflammatory.
I have two weeks self-work.
I'm looking forward to this time to heal.
Oh, stay off that.
Let yourself heal.
Let yourself heal.
Oh, my goodness.
That's a tough one.
That's a tough one. Okay, so adjust your eating. Good time to focus on some meditation, right? Adjust your eating. You're not being as active, right? Help your body calm, really help it work on repairing and rebuilding. That's where you want to go. I share the girls weekend at my trailer. There's lots of food, lots of laughter, lots of walking, lots of relaxation, not much sleep, but it was definitely worth it today after being away and busy since Thursday. I was down to pound. Love this for you. This is the snowball.
this is like your consistency right like this is you continuing to show up all the things that you're
doing this is your body no longer looking to store fat it's just kind of like i want to feel my best
life is all about balance and sometimes exactly what you need is a stress-free weekend filled with food
friends and laughing what a blessing here today this this goes back to um the conversation i was
just having about the mindless eating right like it was it is it actually mindless eating or is it
little bits of moments like this that actually are so beneficial to us, right? Like, we really want to
change our whole perspective and our thought process. I was being mindful, but I didn't, didn't care.
I needed to indulge. It was a battle like an angel and devil on my shoulder. So, you know what I like
about this is being mindful, but you're being mindful that you didn't care. Maybe you just needed a
fuck it moment. Maybe it just seemed to be like, you know what, I just need to break from thinking about
it. Like, you were very mindful, but you're like, I just, I don't want to. I don't care. And that is
being mindful. Making that choice, you know what I love about, oh, you know what? My first time ever when
I went away, I was 16 years old, and I was dating this boy, had my boyfriend, and his parents,
his dad was a teacher, and his dad's sister was a teacher. They were doing an exchange in France,
and they asked me to go. And we stayed in Provence and we were at this beautiful chateau.
And one of the things I remember was that it was not that it was dirty, don't get me wrong,
but they just didn't care about so many things that we fix and care about here.
And this reminded me of that when I was on my trip.
We stayed in this beautiful villa in Tuscany and, you know, there might have been some spider webs here or some dirt here.
And you just, it's not that you, it's not that you didn't care.
It's just that you didn't, you chose not, it just wasn't the thing that I
chose to care about. And I think that's really interesting because it's like you're mindful,
because you're so used to living the way that you're living. Mindful isn't about doing everything
and being perfect and having everything. That's not what mindfulness is. Mindfulness is how you,
how aware you are in the moment about the things that you are choosing to focus on. And so you're like,
fuck it, I don't care. I really just want to indulge. Right. Now, the problem of that is to make a choice
and then to berate yourself afterwards to feel the need to punish yourself. Like with food specifically,
that's the part that you know there's something else going on there because you made a choice
that you thought was going to bring you joy. I need this. Fuck it. But then you immediately like,
if you immediately get on yourself for the consequences of that, then that probably is, you probably
weren't in that, you probably care more than you thought. You know what I be? Sometimes you just need
a break from thinking about it. But that's the kind of conversations we want to get into. That's what I want
to get into. Thank you for your summer program, Gina. I usually gain, but thanks to you and your
wonderful guests I managed to maintain as opposed to gaining this. This is what it's all about.
And there's effort in that. Like I know in our seasonal programs we go a little bit more.
hardcore because we're like, all right, let's go, let's get it done, let's be intentional about
making a push. I learned a lot this summer about that in the sense. Sometimes you can be
just as hardcore by taking a step back and approaching it differently. And it's not always
about being hardcore and getting it done. It's just making sure you are showing up in whatever
capacity you can show up. And that's a lot of change. That's a lot of change. That's a lot of change.
Okay, I'm going to go, that's my problem.
Breaking, break down to a 40 plus year relationship and stress.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm not giving up on myself a relationship.
You know, I think relationships, okay, grief before I go, grief is a big one.
And relationships are really important.
Relationship, whether it's a friendship relationship that you're having issues with or your kid relationship with your kids.
or they, everyone just assumes it's just kind of, that's how it is and not really take into account
how it affects us, how it affects the choices that we make and the things that we want to do
and how we show up in our lives. And that's absolutely one of the things that I do want to get
into. Like, imagine trying to lose weight through a divorce. Imagine trying to lose way through a breakup.
Even if you're excited about it and you're like, okay, yes, I need to get out of this relationship.
That's a lot of stress and strain, right? So that's one of the things we're definitely going to be
talking about more as well. We booked, um, you might have not.
notice we got some great guests coming out. We've booked, we've been booking some incredible guests
are going to come join us. Um, yesterday Jeannie Becker is going to come and join us. And I remember
Jeannie Becker from fashion television? She had gone through, um, a breakup and found love again.
And she'd gone through cancer and she's gone through a variety of different things.
It's really talking with women who've been through, um, similar situations and having
conversations, certainly looking forward to that. Okay. I'm going to go. Have a super fantastic,
awesome day.
If you are, hi, Taya, how are you?
Wanted to say your summer program was well taken care of.
Also great to see your sweet family having the best time.
I love that.
I had FOMO.
I had serious FOMO watching what was going on.
But I had the best team, and I think it was really great to see how everyone stepped up.
It's got me thinking about what can we do to keep that going.
Okay, have a fantastic day, everyone to see you tomorrow.
Maria from Rev. Hur is going to join me.
We're going to have an interesting conversation.
She's done the program before, talking about going through her own stress,
building a business, helping women, all of that.
It's going to be a great conversation.
So I'll see you then.
Have a great day.
I'll see you tomorrow.
Bye.
