I'm Gina Livi and welcome to the Livi Method Podcast.
This is where you'll have access to all of the live streams from my 91 Day Weight Loss
program.
With a combination of daily lives, guest expert interviews, and member stories, there is something
new almost every day.
Miss the Morning Live?
Want to relisten to one of our amazing guest experts?
Well, this is the place.
This podcast is hosted on Acast,
but it's available on all podcast platforms,
including the one you're listening to right now,
Spotify, Apple, and Amazon Music.
Good morning and happy day 47 of the program.
Just trying to get myself situated here.
I am still in Ottawa, making my way back tomorrow.
Let me see, there's a nice making my way back tomorrow.
Let me see, there's a nice robe in the back there. So I was just, first of all, it is a Friday.
We are rolling into the weekend again.
How are you feeling?
Where are you at?
We are week six of the program,
our last week of downsizing.
Gonna move it on to a completely different tweak next week again downsizing is our weakest tweak
We have better tweaks coming down the pipeline. So a couple things there was a comment this morning about someone who had dropped their weight
So when your weight is whenever you see a new low, that's always your new weight and having a glass of wine
Indulging in a meal is not going to cause your body to take the food that you are eating
And convert it into fat. It's actually insanity
To think that now I understand why we think that because we have been taught every time the scale goes up
It's actually real weight gain. Some of you I know have spent time in Weight Watchers
You had your your pin that you got and then you got to take it away from you
Simply because your weight went up a little bit
So they're the reality we have to talk in realities here
and this is one of the things that makes the living method different is that
we talk in reality and
Science and how the body actually functions and we're not into fear-mongering
We're into showing up and doing and understanding
the things that you need to do
in order to lose your weight successfully.
And if you are stressing about the scale
because you made a choice that caused your weight to go up,
you are sabotaging yourself
because you are refusing to believe and understand
and probably not also reading the science pose
because you maybe are a fear of success.
Maybe you have a fear of failure, whatever it is, but actually believing that you have
gained all of your weight back because of a couple of days of indulgences or having
some wine or whatever that's sabotaging yourself because it's just, it's, you might as well
believe in the tooth fairy.
But honestly that's, that's, that's to the point that is just not true.
So if then you are believing
that you have gained all this weight back
just from eating good nutrient rich foods
or having some salty food or a glass of wine,
you're never going to reach your goal.
You're never ever ever going to reach your goal.
So what do you do about that?
You have to immerse yourself in the information
and be open to understanding reality.
That's really big.
For example, we have a lot of examples of scales.
So if you go back to the scale post of all the reasons
why your weight is up, what real weight loss looks like,
all of that, we will show you the scales.
Those are real people scales.
So they're not, we didn't make those up and other people added their scale to it.
And so this is where members who've been here a while understand that you'll have an up
before a down.
You might have an up, up, up, up, up before a down, down, down, down, down.
It's all about that downward trend.
But more than that, it's more than just showing up
and doing the things you need to do.
It's your mindset.
And if that is your mindset,
your mindset is gonna take you out, your mindset.
Because the scale, it's so normal for the scale to fluctuate.
So you really have to understand that.
So when you lose weight, it's always weight loss.
And the other is, will that, this mindset of,
will I ever be able to cheat?
First of all, if you're using the word, that's problematic because you're not cheating anything.
So we don't use the word cheat day.
We have a word called Tuesday.
You choose to have something to eat that's not necessarily going to help you reach your goal.
So yesterday I talked about how you're making choices that fall in line with your goals.
Every day you want to make as many choices as possible and you want to have more choices
that move you forward towards your goals than set you back.
And so if you choose to have something that is going to cause to have the scale up, not
real weight gain, or choose to have something that's going to mess with your momentum, that's
not cheating on yourself. And so just even using the word cheat is problematic in your mindset.
And again, big picture, it's all factoring into you, not just losing weight, but being able to
maintain and sustain your weight. So you have to be very mindful of the words that you're using.
But the whole point again, and if you've been listening and paying attention, and this is what I mean by immersing yourself in the
information, is just refusing to believe it. The Living Method is different. It's
different than any other diet you've done. I keep talking about, I saw someone
today and of course we want you to share how you feel talking about, am I the only
one who hasn't lost weight? Absolutely not! that's why I talk about it every day.
It's why I have whole sessions with my guest experts,
why it's normal to not see any weight loss
still at this point.
Now, am I concerned?
No.
Am I concerned about you continuing to show up?
Yeah, I am.
And I would totally understand
if you chose not to show up anymore.
I totally understand that.
Will that get you to your goal ever? Probably not.
And so what's the quick fix for that?
Taking weight loss medications.
Here's the thing,
although I'm totally on board with medications,
you still have to do this kind of work.
Because if it's hard for you to get the scale moving
and hard for you to lose weight,
there's probably very good reasons
as to why your weight isn't moving.
And so that sucks. But you got to figure that shit out
and work that shit out.
And taking less medications doesn't necessarily mean
you're going to be successful losing weight.
There's lots of people who take them
and don't see any weight loss because they still have
to work on these types of things.
So the whole goal of the program is to lose your weight
in a way that's rewiring your body physically,
how it's come to function for most people after many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many,
many, many years.
And also your brain, how your brain has come to function after many, many, many, many,
many, many, many years.
And that's a lot of fucking work.
It's a lot of fucking work for some people.
You have to show up, you've got to do the work, it's hard, and you're going to have
a lot of feels.
But the whole point is to lose your weight in a way where you have the knowledge and
the skills and you are in tune enough to know how the choices you are making are going to
affect you when your stress is out of control.
You're not helping yourself manage that when you're not getting sleep or you're still watching
Netflix or watching the game last night.
Go Canada.
This is giving you the tools.
So this is so much more than just trying to lose your weight through a quick fix.
It's not that at all.
I could make a lot, I could probably make a lot more money by feeding people a load
of shit and lose 60 pounds in two days and get a whole bunch of people to sign up.
But that's not my jam.
My jam is helping you understand, work through, acquire the skills that you need in order to lose your weight
in a healthy, sustainable way.
And so when it comes to, will I ever be able to eat X again?
I mean, yes, the reason why you can't eat X
or it's because you're also stressing yourself out.
You wanna see the scale move like yesterday,
but you're not doing the things that you need to do
that are gonna move you forward. Or you keep doing the things that you need to do that are going to move you forward.
Or you keep doing the things that are setting you back.
So that's on you.
That's on you.
So can you have cake?
Can you eat this?
Can you eat that?
Some people can.
Some people can have a dessert.
Some people can have pizza.
Some people have pasta.
They're obviously, their bodies are not
in the same place as yours.
So if you find that you cannot eat these things
and move down the scale,
stop fucking eating those things
or understand that if you're going to have them it's going to slow the process. Now I have had lots of clients that I've worked with who are like Gina calm the fuck down. I am not interested in
losing my weight I'm not interested in a quick fix so I still want to have pizza night with my
family every every Friday night. I still want to have this I still want to have that I still want to have pizza night with my family every every Friday night. I still want to have this
I still want to have that I still but I'm okay with what is going on the scale
I'm alright with that, but you can't be ragging on me not saying that you are
I can't be ragging on yourself more. So if you are not doing the things now
One of the things I noticed is that whenever people are like, I don't know. I'm doing everything. I'm drinking the water
I'm eating the foods that is drinking the water. I'm eating the foods. That is like the minimum.
That's the minimum.
So if you are someone who's really having a hard time
moving down the scale, you want to answer,
you go to the 20 questions checklist and put your answers
and give me detailed, detailed, detailed response.
That's where I would start
because the team can help you there.
But back to being able to eat.
You can't go back to eating the way you ate before.
You can't go back to living the way you ate before. You can't go back to living the way you lived before. You can't do that. That lifestyle that you were
living created your current situation. And so now what do you do? You have to change.
What is the, what is the lifestyle you want to live? How do you want to feel? How do you
want to look? Right. And what, what, what's the lifestyle that's going to support that?
Right. You want to feel strong, you will feel that right you want to feel strong you will feel confident
You want to feel calm you got to do the work, right?
And so so yes, you'll be able to have chips every now and then in bed
It'll mess with your sleep make you feel like crap and have your weight up the next morning
Even after you've lost your weight because it's salty food it messes with your sleep that will never ever ever ever change
No, it's not real weight game, but it'll make you feel like garbage. You can still drink a bottle of
wine. It'll dehydrate you and mess with your sleep, make you feel like shit the
next day, have your weight up. Does it mean that you can't drink a whole bottle
of wine? No but it's definitely gonna affect you. If you keep drinking chips
every night and eat, drink and wine, a whole bottle of wine every night,
eventually you're just gonna feel like garbage and eventually that will start
to mess with your weight. But hopefully you're gonna have the wherewithal to be like okay
that was fun I had that I feel like garbage today let me make choices that
make me feel good and help my body recover from that and so I if you I have
lost my weight and I lost me 30 something years ago at this point over a
hundred pounds I understand my body's needs if I eat garbage
Day in day out eventually I feel bloated. I feel gross. I might it's not it's messing with my sleep My weight starts creeping up, right?
But I know I'm doing that to myself and I know exactly what I need to do to get my weight back down and get
Back on track is what I do
There have been times in my life where I was under more stress than others
so after you lose your weight, this is where you have to be mindful.
And so there are times where my son's in the hospital, I'm eating chips every night, I'm
managing my feelings by whatever I'm, you know, it cuts my weight to go up my high.
It's not just when I'm eating my high stress, lack of movement because I'm in the hospital
every day, right?
Like that, that caused my weight to go up a little bit.
And then as soon as my life got back to normal, I got a handle on that and that said okay, Gina. You can't do this to yourself. You got it like stay strong
You got to feel good. You have to like that my weight came back down
Whenever there's stress in my life and I choose decisions that affect me physically. I am fully self-aware
Sometimes I'm like fuck this shit. I'm drinking the whole wine anyway and eating the chips
I don't care and this is what I need to do
But I also then know exactly what I need to do
to help myself over that.
I maintained my weight for over 30 years,
then menopause hit, so perimenopause hit.
But it wasn't just menopause, it was the high stress,
lack of sleep, everything else that was going on with me.
And so my weight went up, like 20 pounds.
This is where I had to go to my doctor and be like,
what the fuck is going on with me? And you know, this is where, okay, well, your hormones are in a whack, but they're also more
out of whack because of high stress, because I was sick two years earlier, lost 30 pounds
and lost a whole shit ton of muscle and then never invested the time on building that muscle
up again. And so it was like a recipe for weight gain for me. Now is that weight off? Yes, it is
because I got a handle on my life.
And so this is where when you say am I ever going to be able to cheat
or am I going to be go back to eating the foods that I love?
Yes and no.
Yes and no.
And so your weight is going to continue to fluctuate.
I remember one time in the maintenance group.
There was a woman who had a hoagie and she's like I had a hoagie last night.
My weight was up and I feel like shit. a hoagie last night my weight was up
and I feel like shit am I ever gonna be able to eat normal again? What the
fucking hoagie is not eating normal and your body will always react to that
always did always will react to you eating ultra processed foods or breads
that are like it's just what's gonna happen and that it's not real weight
gain but your body's gonna react because it's shit garbage food yes you can eat
it your body will react to calm back down and then we learned from dr. Paul
in those conversations that your weight can stay elevated for like a week
because of that because of the dehydration because of the salt because
of those foods cause inflammation right so so this is sort of where you're gonna bring a massive dose to reality to the program
And this is where I'm not here to sugarcoat it right and blow smoke up your ass
It's not gonna help you at the end of the day. I'm not gonna help you at the end of the day
so
The last question I want to respond to is someone that said
they had done well in the program lost weight but but are really struggling with signing up again.
And this doesn't make any sense to me.
So program is the most affordable program on the market.
We know this is probably the highest value on the market.
Just like any other diet you want to start it and follow it right to the end just like
weight loss medications.
We lost medications are like you want to take these medications you have to take them for
the rest of your life beyond that.
And just like this, you made changes.
You need to maintain those changes for the rest of your life.
That's how it is.
You have to live mindfully.
Live the livy way after you're done, which is a way of paying attention and being aware
and giving your body what it needs.
It's a fabulous way to live where you feel your best every fucking day and you're in
tune with your body's needs That's that's what you want rather than feeling out of control cravings running the show
Well all of that and so someone's like they've been successful and they're like, I'm not sure if I should sign up again
Why not?
Why not?
Sometimes we feel like we should know better
Sometimes we feel like we shouldn't need the help and this is where why wouldn't you continue a diet that is helping you lose weight so
If you're anyone's feeling the same, it's it's just it's the living method is broken down into 91 day digestible chunks of time
It gives you breaks in between there's a rhyme and a reason to all of that
So just like any other diet you want to start you want to finish. All right now let's get me into your questions
See where you are. See where you are at this morning.
I thought Gina was full of it when she said some people will need new shoes.
I know.
I'm not sure why I thought she was lying.
I don't lie.
So first of all, my mom, bless my mom, washed my mouth out with soap when I lied.
So when I, and this is why I'm such a straight up person.
Listen, you may not like me, I may be very polarizing,
but I will go to the ends of the earth
to help you figure out what's going on
and how you need to lose weight.
I want you to lose your weight so badly.
One of the things I don't do is lie.
My face gets all fucked up, and it's gotten me in trouble
because I've been a very truthful person.
And so my entire life, you ask me something,
I will tell you the truth of how I feel about it.
And so I don't, first of all, I don't lie.
So there's that, thanks mom.
Because my mom let me do whatever I wanted to do.
So I, as long as I told the truth,
I was whatever I wanted to do,
stay out late, whatever it was,
but telling a lie was like the worst thing you could ever do.
So I don't do that.
But I digress, I don't do that but yeah I
digress I digress. Not sure why I thought she was lying she hasn't led me astray yet and why would
I? I need y'all to be successful I need every single one of you to be successful that's the
the kicker around here and it's incredible sometimes I think people believe that I want them to fail we
want you to fail we want you to keep coming back I actually don't want you to keep coming back.
If I can prove that the Living Method works and you're able to maintain and sustain your weight,
I'm going to get the fucking Nobel Prize.
That is what I'm after at the end of the day.
I want the Nobel Prize.
I want to actually not only make a difference in obesity rates,
which Ozempic is helping out, but those good, they're going to go back up.
I want people to walk away feeling healthier.
I want them to walk away feeling empowered.
All of that, right?
But last night I had a work gala,
put on my shoes I haven't worn in a few years
because they've been a little tight.
They were falling off while I was walking last night.
Crazy.
So this is how, this is the difference between fat,
like weight loss on diets and fat loss.
And so fat, weight loss, you starve it off.
It comes off in pockets, certain areas more than than others and you get that dramatic weight loss look. Fat loss is
more like layers where your body is releasing fat and this is where it's
sort of all over and so this affects your this is why people all of a sudden
get their rings on this is why people are changing shoe sizes your underwear
like all of it changes which is obviously way better for your skin,
which way better for your skin
when you're losing layers rather than, you know,
in like larger areas where it's hard for the skin to,
and we're gonna have a talk to a skincare expert,
where it's hard for the skin to regenerate
around your new frame.
And so I've sat down to many people who are like,
well, I wanna lose 60, 80 pounds.
I'm like, okay, you're gonna need it
in a whole new wardrobe.
You know that because this actually is a real thing and people want to lose weight, but
then they want to lose so much weight, they're going to need a whole new wardrobe and they
don't recognize the stress that comes with needing a whole new wardrobe.
Some people will need all new shoes.
Some people will need all new everything.
So it very much is a real thing for sure.
For sure. Which I mean, for some people is really great.

figure out why. Think I'm bored so I need to find new food choices.
No, you just need to be bored.
What's happening is, like, if your motivation hinges on you being excited or having fun,
it's not going to last.
It's just like your job.
Sure, you want to enjoy your job, but at the same time, it might be the same job.
And then sure, there might be time
that eventually you'll look for change.
Food, you want to just get in tune
with what your body needs over your wants.
And I'd be mindful about looking new food.
The body loves boredom.
The body loves routine.
Boredom means routine.
It means calm.
It's not exciting.
Your body fucking loves that shit.
Because calm and routine is the foundation of change.
So what are you bored with?
But, so what is the, if the word is bored,
so if you're like,
because you want to define struggling.
Dr. Beverly and Dr. David are going to join me next week.
So make sure you join me for that conversation because that's exactly what this is going
to be about.
So what if you're struggling, this is for anybody.
If you're struggling, struggling is such a big mass of words.
So the link, what are you struggling with?
What is your word?
You sit down right now and be like, what is it?
What's my what's not what's wrong with me? What going on with me what is the word that keeps put how do
I feel like try to define and throw some out in my this and I irritated am I
frustrated and I'm whatever like what is what is what do I feel right now what is
that I feel bored and so bored of what this probably has to do with bored in
your life not what you're doing on the
program and plan because we're always switching things up. There's always things
to do. You're asking the questions. You're being aware. There's so much to do that
it'd be hard to be bored with that and even if you've done like 25 programs, you
are changing, right? And so what is what's going on with the boredom? What is that
about? And this is probably you've probably been stuck inside if you've been anywhere where there's snow banks
I'm actually in I can see the Parliament buildings in Ottawa right now. There's so much fucking stuff
And so maybe you're feel stuck inside. It's wintertime. Maybe you are a golfer and you haven't been able to golf
Right, maybe you are like you're used to doing your walks. You're not doing that anymore
So what is what is going on in your life?
And so this is where the word or how you're feeling can really help you sort of work through what's my issue,
because you want to be in tune to your body's needs, not your wants.
And so you want to be more excited by your food.
You want to be, you know, whatever that is.
But boredom is actually a really, really great place to be.
Really good. Now, you could find your way in and be like how can I embrace the process more like
how can I like say you don't like cooking well what can I do to make
cooking more joyful I don't like meal prep well what is my how can I change
my mind frame like around it how can I frame it in a way where I will enjoy doing setting myself up for success or whatever like you know like try to try to create a way
that it resonates not necessarily is more exciting but in a way that resonates
with you and this is where focusing on your non-scale victories will really
help with that and kind of like if you start focusing on your non-scale
victories rather than the monotony of the program and the scale and the food plan and all of that and try to get even more
in tune with it right try to try to try to challenge yourself maybe it's adding an exercise or adding
in a changing your night time changing your night time routine maybe that that'll help with that.
Perimenopause and COVID threw me for a tailspin gained weight, but like, shit, this program
has really gotten me back on track.
Hopefully can start losing weight consistently soon lost the beginning, but no nothing since.
So this is where like, and it's interesting because we'll have the same people who are
talking about how their weight isn't moving, but then they're hesitant to downsize.
Well, I'm not sure about this.
What about this?
And what if I'm not eating enough and whatever I'm eating?
So that tells me they're kind of not all in and so sometimes we're sitting on we're sitting back and we're unsure and
Doubting and whatever so we're not really actually doing either
and so this is where you want to be like all in level up sometimes people are sitting back and waiting and
Waiting for the next tweak or whatever, but they're not actually all in doing.
So make sure you're all in doing this is where you might want to post your a very detailed
answers to those 20 questions, right?
Like what are you doing for exercise?
Exactly.
Like are you just walking the dog around the neighborhood?
Are you lifting weights?
Like, what are you doing that?
And that way you might be doing all of the things to the best of your ability.
And then then the deduction there is your body probably just needs time to adjust to the
weight that you've lost and so this is where you really I don't want to say
like all the things but you've got to be all in with the things that you are
doing and so just taking a look back and be like okay what do I need what do I
need what do I need there to set myself but we can help you with that if you
want to post your answers to the 20 questions we can help you figure that out
We can help you figure that out
Round two of five pounds since the lowest low halfway through determined to change my habits
There are so much more about the my body connection
Yeah, so much more about the my body connection where I just lost that. Oh someone mentioned very Lynn. Oh
Hi Jennifer, hi Jennifer.
Hi Jennifer.
So we just lost another member, amazing member of our community.
Man, I was thinking, it's incredible, hundreds of thousands of people have gone through the
program and this is to the extent that when I care, my team cares, we really get to know
our members, especially our vocal members.
There's so many people in the group and only a small percentage of people are vocal. And so I
do want to address all the vocal people right now and say how integral
you are to the success of so many people. Because although you know we have
thousands of people who will never say a word, they will never comment, they will never ask questions, but they read the comments
and they pay attention to the questions and the answers that are received.
And when you do a vulnerable share, if you feel that way, chances are there are
hundreds, if not thousands of people that feel the same way.
And the response that you get or the answers that you get or the
conversations that come out of that are so valuable to everybody.
And through our very vocal members, we get to know some of our incredible members.
And I said this to Tony, like, man, like I just, it's amazing how you can never meet
someone and feel really connected to them.
And I think because we're all in the same common goal and we're all sharing being very
vulnerable, you're, you're more open to connectedness, to oneness, we're all sharing being very vulnerable you're you're more open
to connectedness to one us we're all part of one is and so Barry Lynn I
remember unfortunately she just recently passed away on the 15th and she I mean
she was still coming in to the group and she was still coming in and and and
taking part.
She was someone who came into the group and we used to do these poems and would sing.
She would go on social media and write songs about her journey.
Then I had an opportunity to have her on the Spill the Tea.
If you haven't, you have access to all of our guest conversations, not just our expert
guests but our members. We used to call this the Spill the Tea. So you have access to all of our guest conversations, not just our expert guests but our members. We used to call this the Spill the Tea segment. We now
call it Real People, Real Journey because we realized after so many Spill the Tea sessions
that it wasn't just spilling the tea. It was getting really ultra personal with people
on their journeys. She came on and joined us. She had a lot of passion for the program.
She designed her own t-shirts with slog slogans on them and whatnot and she was
an absolute delight and unfortunately she, I mean right to the very end, like she was
a loser through and through and even today I'm talking about her. I've taken a couple
days to kind of process it to have an opportunity. I was actually going to do a post on one of
my stories and talk about it because I saw Jennifer. But Jennifer, a lot of you are here because
you have a friend or family member who got you involved. And when people do the program,
they are like the reason why we have been so successful is all word of mouth and people
share with their friends. So a lot of people know a lot of people. And Jennifer was a co-worker of hers and a good friend of hers.
So I just want to say to everyone who was a friend or had the opportunity to connect with Barry Lynn,
I'm just sending love to all of you.
Our last group, we've had some tragedies here.
Last group, it was our cherished member Brenda Huxley, badass Brenda. Brenda was a really
interesting story because she lost over a hundred, I think a hundred thirty pounds. Her goal, and I
also did a conversation with her, her goal was to just leave her house. Her goal was to just leave
her house. She hadn't left her house in four years and she finally got outside and she had an
opportunity to meet with family members and just as she was starting to live her life again, she got diagnosed with a brain tumor.
And however, though, had she not lost that weight, they would never have been able to
do the brain tumor surgery, which she flew through brain tumor surgery and was unfortunately
right after diagnosed with breast cancer again.
And Brenda would show up in the groups,
very similar to Barry Lynn,
and just be a light in this energy of like,
and these are people who are dealing
with really traumatic events,
who are still understanding the benefit
of connecting with the community,
of continuing to show up for themselves.
Now their intention maybe is to not fit into their genes,
but their intention is to stay alive and to thrive and to you know
Just deal with whatever is going on and this is why the living method is so much more
The weight loss is why it's so important the things that you are doing and working through are really to make a difference in your life
So anyway, I just want to say just I think I've been thinking about her last couple days
And I think about her family and thinking about all of you who are close with her man, man, man, man.
Hi, Shelley.
I'm not bored.
I struggle in social settings, constantly involved food with family, friends, co-workers
and everyone.
Yeah.
So let's talk about that.
Um, you know, in social settings and situations, it's like, what is it about the food? What's your connection? What's your association to the food?
Also like
It's in it's indulging in the cut there are other ways to indulge
Right and so sometimes people miss the indulging of the foods
But then if you thought about what was happening the struggle to eat food not eat the food then you eat the food then you
what was happening the struggle to eat food not eat the food then you eat the food then you over indulge then how you felt how that affected the conversations
you're having how that felt how it affected you leaving that situation how
you how you felt how it affected how you felt when you got home how how you felt
and how it affected how you felt the next day on the scale and so a lot of
times we really glorify these moments where we were able to indulge in this
fun food and whenever and the reality is the reason why we tend to overeat
in social situations is because we are connected
with that euphoricness of overeating,
jacks your insulin levels up, we're laughing,
we're with loved ones, our endorphins are flowing,
our dopamine's getting hit, and it just feels lovely.
And so when you are eating your food,
like good healthy food,
like you could get really high off that.
Like what we hear a lot of people talk about is,
I never used to eat salads, now I love them.
Right, I never used to, I didn't want to eat fruit
because I was afraid of it, now I enjoy it.
So you can kind of switch the things
you're getting your dopamine hits off of and if you really embrace and come to
love the feeling that you get and this is why it's so important to pay
attention and to like be proud of yourself and like really take note of
when you've made a good choice and you are really proud of that I feel fantastic
so this is me and whatever I don't drink, right? So I want
to drink. I think about how I'm going to feel the next day that helps me not drink. And
then when I woke up like last night, yesterday, I could have drank. We were in, we were in
Ottawa and we could have had, I could have drank at lunch. I could have drank at cocktail
hour. I could have drank at dinner. And I just, I I didn't which is really interesting because yesterday when you guys so oh my god um so you know how someone talked about the
Canada food guide and I went off about it about it being so political and
whatever it's interesting because I'm in I'm in Ottawa and we were talking about
lobbying and politics and all of that and it's interesting with what we do
have a government change you're not gonna see the Canada food guide because it's very political
because very political because it has to do with our dairy farmers it has to do
with our excess growth of wheat it has to do with a lot of other things so that
that food guide is it's all politics so I was like oh my god and this was brought
up to me and I was just like oh shit I was just talking about this on the live
today which was very interesting and now I've totally lost my train of thought oh
why so I could have had an opportunity to drink yesterday and then today I
opened my eyes and because you can tell I'm not feeling well I feel like shit
which is another reason why. Today I opened my eyes and I was like oh my god I
feel pretty good I mean besides the fact I'd like don't feel good I was like I feel great and I was like yes I didn't, I feel pretty good. I mean, besides the fact that I like don't feel good. I was like, I feel great.
And I was like, yes, I didn't drink last night.
I feel fantastic.
I'm so fucking proud of myself for not drinking.
So this is alcohol, but this is food, right?
Like be really, like I almost like,
I feel euphoric on the fact that I didn't drink.
So yay me.
And I feel so, I like feels, thank God I did it.
Ah, Gina, I love you.
Right.
So this is sort of where you want to make those connections to how when you don't make
the choice, you feel so much better.
And so there's that right.
Really connecting with food, like really indulging.
I ate good food.
I'm going to feel good.
This is amazing.
Good for me.
I am awesome.
Right.
Rather than, oh, I can't have this and I can't have that because I'm on a diet.
And while I'm never going to be able to have this and never gonna be able that like that that energy is just like whoa
And so really like catch on like you're fucking amazing
Look at the choices that you're making like you're fucking amazing six weeks in you're still here. You're focused on yourself. It's hard
You've had the big fields, but you're still doing that. That is awesome
Like that is amazing, right and then there's indulging in your, indulging, stay away from the food table,
talk to people, talk to people, be present,
be present, talk to people, indulge in conversations.
Right, indulging conversations.
When you sit down with everyone at the table,
and indulge in the connectiveness of like,
wow, it's so great to have friends,
and so great to have family, so great to sit down with everybody. So there are ways that you can indulge. Right.
So what is it? What is it that you're struggling with in those social situations? So what is
that? That's where you want to find like, what's the word? What's the issue with what
you're struggling with in social situations?
I do want to go back to to Jennifer and just discussing Barry Lynn because grief is something
that we did actually touch on this with dr. Dr. Dina and
Showing up and doing the things that you need to do sometimes in life
Weight loss if you if you just make this about weight loss
It can seem so trivial and insignificant, especially
if you get into that life is short.
And I guess that's why I wanted to tell this story of Barry Lynn and Brenda.
And although life was cut short for them, they in those moments were really understanding
the importance of showing up for themselves.
And sometimes when we are dealing with any situation, whether it's grief or it's stress or mental health or whatever,
something is happening in our lives, it seems so, weight loss seems so insignificant.
And why? Fuck it, we'll just eat whatever and whatever.
But we can't live a life where we feel like we're going to, in one sense,
we do want to live a life where we feel like it's going to be taken from us and not take life for granted.
But the reality is most of us are going to live our long lives and we want to live our
best lives.
Truly.
We want to feel our best.
We want to look our best.
But the reality is that these times, especially when you're dealing with grief or stress or
change are so taxing on you and no one is coming to save you.
No one is coming to do the work for you.
You are the one that is going to have to show up every day and make sure you are taking care of yourself prioritizing yourself feeding yourself nourishing yourself loving yourself.
You are the one who's going to have to do that.
Not an easy thing to do when you have these really big fields.
I think sometimes when people are dealing with big fields mentally, they sometimes they
don't allow themselves to deep, fully feel the fields or they don't feel entitled to
feel maybe someone else is more sadder than me.
Well, I can't be sad as I want to feel because you know, her family is probably more sad
than than me or, or, or you just for whatever reason don't feel deserving of your feels and or you don't want to go into your feels
And so what we do sometimes is we we physically
We want to replicate how we're feeling so we we we put ourselves in a state where we are physically feeling
just as bad as
Our our well how we are feeling to justify the feeling
This is how sad I am. So I'm just physically broken mentally broken and we
Make choices that break ourselves down so we can just justify and validate
How we're feeling and so you can validate your grief without then
physically feeling the grief I mean, obviously you're then physically feeling the grief.
I mean, obviously you're going to physically feel the grief, but without trying to match
the physical to the mental.
And so a lot of times I think out of out of wanting to validate how we feel, we trash
ourselves.
We trash ourselves.
And it's also very difficult to pay attention to ourselves when something over here is happening.
So not a thing.
I am already surpassing my weight loss goal for 90 days.
Best of all, I feel fantastic.
I want to talk about this too, because I do tend to talk and I'm very mindful.
And so this is where I made a conscious choice the other day to be like, okay, Gina, you've
really put a lot of emphasis on people whose scale isn't moving.
I've given the resources, I've had had the conversations the sleep stress series conversation with dr
Paul at this point people need to be open to okay this normal although have your feels and then be proactive
Right like what can you do about it?
Posted 20 questions and I think the majority of people like 93% of people have seen their weight lose
The majority of people, like 93% of people, have seen their weight loss by, or losing weight by week four of the program.
93%.
And so that's the majority of people are just losing weight just fine.
And like I said, a small percentage is vocal people.
And obviously people who tend to be more vocal are people who are struggling or people who
are celebrating or just people who love to be part of the community. And so I am very mindful that the majority of the people
feel freaking fantastic or crushing the program.
Yeah, they have their moments, their setbacks, whatever,
but the majority of people are doing great.
They're doing amazing.
And so I just want to put that out there
because sometimes I like to dwell on people
who are having a hard time
because I really want every single person to get across the finish line and sometimes there are people
who need a little bit more hand holding than others.
But I do want to say before I go, the majority of people, 93% plus people are doing the program,
seeing the results and doing amazing.
And so I think that's important to say out loud for people who maybe are struggling because
if you think, oh my goodness, like is anybody losing?
Because again, people reaching out, like is anyone losing?
Is anyone doing like how you are in the program and not realizing that this is totally normal
and you are not alone?
Maybe it just comes down to you just don't, maybe you're in denial of it.
I don't know.
But I just want to say out loud that the majority of people are doing great on the program.
But we are there to help you in those moments when you're not feeling like you're doing
so great. And we are there to help people who aren't when you're not feeling like you're doing so great and we are there
to help people who aren't doing so great.
But here's what I got to say.
You have to help us help you.
I see some people who are frustrated in the group and they're
not even asking questions or just making a statement exclamation
mark. That's not anything I can help you with.
So you need to help us help you and this is where you really
got to dive in be investigative all of that show up.
We really are here for you.
