Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm Gina Livi and welcome to the Livi Method Podcast. This is where you'll have access to all of the live streams from my 91 Day Weight Loss program. With a combination of daily lives, guest expert interviews, and member stories, there is something new almost every day. Miss the Morning Live? Want to relisten to one of our amazing guest experts? Well, this is the place.
Starting point is 00:00:23 This podcast is hosted on a cast, but it's available on all podcast platforms, including the one you're listening to right now, Spotify, Apple, and Amazon music. Hello and welcome to day 81 of the program rolling right along with our personalizing the plan this week. We're not done yet, but this week is all about setting you up for success for next steps, making sure you are so super clear on what you need to do. Before we get started today, Elizabeth Maither is down 152 pounds today.
Starting point is 00:00:57 Woo-hoo! I just want to say that's amazing. Honestly, that's like truly, truly, truly, truly incredible. I am cheering you on. I just want to say that's amazing. Honestly, that's like truly, truly, truly, truly incredible. I am cheering you on. MJ Shrope has just got a no cancer diagnosis. That's amazing. These are some of the notes that my team sends me.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Listen, my team is incredible. Every day Kim sends me, she's like, this is happening, that's happening, you need to know this, you need to know that. They literally, actually, do you say literally? Actually. What's the right terminology for that? When someone says literally, actually, actually, right? Is it literally, actually, really happy? Really happy for our members. They're cheering you on every step of the way. Some questions here.
Starting point is 00:01:46 If you've got any questions, load them up. I am trying to answer as many as I possibly can today. Some people are having some questions, wondering. Someone asked about GLP-1s and that their doctor suggested and wanted to know my thoughts on them. We are totally on board. GLP-1s can be a game changer for people. I mean, you might think that I'm against them. I'm actually not. Learned a lot about them at the obesity
Starting point is 00:02:10 clinics I have been to. Can be a game changer. Great for getting a handle on your hunger. Great for getting a handle on that voice in your head. Beneficial, absolutely. Side effects, yeah, I won't get into that, so make sure you have that conversation with your doctor. Not a permanent fix. You have to continue to take them or you will gain your weight back plus more. That's not me being like fear-mongering. That's just how it is.
Starting point is 00:02:35 That's the downside of them. If you stop taking them, you will gain your weight back plus more. There's a lot of things that people don't realize that you will take them. You will lose that weight that you always lose on a diet and then it'll be very hard for you to continue to lose more. There's a lot of things that people don't realize that you will take them, you will lose that weight that you always lose on a diet, and then it'll be very hard for you to continue to lose more. So you have to up the doses on that. Some people don't lose any weight whatsoever on them. That's also really important to note. And I think something like 70% of people who start taking them get off them within two years. And I don't quote me on that, but that's around the number. I think they can be great in line with a program like the Living Method,
Starting point is 00:03:10 where you are doing the work to work through your issues, associations, beliefs, habits, traumas, getting in tune with your body, understanding what your body needs, being able to trust when to eat, what to eat, how much to eat. That's the work that you have to do. So taking these GLP-1s doesn't help you work through your issues and associations with food. It doesn't help you if you have some food addiction tendencies, right? It doesn't help you feel worthy of the changes that you're making.
Starting point is 00:03:40 It doesn't help you create new habits. And so although I think they can be a game changer, they're not a magic pill or a magic shot, but they are, I think it can be beneficial in line with doing something like the Libby Method. So just, I have talked on that before. We actually had, if anyone missed the conversation, we actually had Sandy Van, who is a medical doctor, and this is her obesity is her area of specialty and she came on actually talked about GLP ones. So that
Starting point is 00:04:10 conversation was in the first few weeks of the program. So if you want to go back and listen to that, that's actually available. The best way to find all the guest expert segments are in the app in the guest expert guide. Someone was talking about how their nighttime hunger and snacking habit is coming back. So check yourself on that, right? The habits come back, we fall back into old habits. What's going on in your life? Are you being triggered? Are you extra stressed?
Starting point is 00:04:40 Why is that habit coming back? Make sure you are eating nutrient rich foods. People just fall back into what they like and they love at this point in the program. Make sure you're also asking the four mindful eating questions. People are like, I'm so tired of that. So you stop doing that.
Starting point is 00:04:53 So then you end up overeating, under eating. Remember it's extra, it's normal to be extra hungry in the evening right before the scale drops, right? So you may be wondering what's going on, why am I really hungry at night? And meanwhile, you're doing all the things, it could be that your scale is about to drop. Could mean that you need to have bumped the water up.
Starting point is 00:05:12 If you're craving, what is it? Craving sugar, bump up the water, craving fat, salty foods, bump up the fat, right? So just be like, what is this about? What is this about? Someone is on the fence, lastly, someone's on the fence about signing up for the next program. This is their first round and wondering if they could
Starting point is 00:05:33 potentially still lose weight if they tried the maintenance group. Yes, like when you do the maintenance program, your body's not a machine, so you might end up losing a few more pounds, but do not do the maintenance program if you are looking to lose weight. That's really, really, really, really important. Not that you might not still lose a few pounds, but the maintenance group and program is for people who are done. And we're very cognizant and respectful of that conversation. People in maintenance do not want to hear about weight loss because they're trying to move past that. They were in a weight loss mentality and it's a lot of work to now be in a maintenance mentality. So we don't talk about weight loss in the maintenance program. People don't ask questions about weight loss in the maintenance program.
Starting point is 00:06:18 That's really important. The maintenance program is for people who have reached their goal and they're ready to maintain and sustain their weight. If you still have weight to lose, I would highly suggest you doing another round of the program. It's super beneficial. Even if you're not looking to lose weight, you can still follow through on all the steps of the program right to the very end. How we used to maintain and sustain your weight was by doing another round of the program. Obviously, the intention was totally different. You don't have to maximize in the
Starting point is 00:06:48 same way. But now we've created a separate maintenance program that's to help people who've reached their goal, solidify their weight. So I would not sign up hoping to lose weight. Doesn't mean that you won't. I just thought I wouldn't make that your intention. We do talk about things in the maintenance program because sometimes people will gain weight back. So we'll talk about getting back on track and how to get their weight back down. They fall back into old habits and whatnot. We have people who've been in the maintenance program for years and then decide they want to go back and lose more. So we do have those types of conversations. But if you're looking to lose
Starting point is 00:07:22 weight, it's best to sign up for the weight loss program. Here's what you don't want to do. You don't want to have worked so hard to get so close to your goal and then for the last five, 10 pounds, whatever, end up in no man's zone. That happens all the time. So in the past, I've had people are like, no, I'm not going to sign up. I'm so close. It's only five pounds. And then they, they miss the deadline for the program. And then they're on social media trying to ask questions. And that's not where you ask questions, right?
Starting point is 00:07:53 Like our team is here in the group and I've reached out to people before. And I'm like, what's going on? They're like, well, I didn't sign up. And I don't know. Like I just, I'm like, well, why didn't you sign up? And they're like, well, I just, I just thought I could do it on my own or one to do it on my own. But they're not they're reaching out every day on social media as much as we want to help. That's not where our team
Starting point is 00:08:11 is. And you know, I'm just like, why wouldn't you just sign up? And they're like, well, it was only but you know how hard it can be for some people to only lose five pounds, which is actually a considerable amount of weight at the end of the day, right? So, so it's it's if you have more weight to lose sign up again you will not regret it but you don't want to end up in that and then what happens when people are end up on that five five pound ten pound last week they end up going back into crazy diets right oh if I just serve myself all day or if I just do this or just do that that'll get that last ten pounds off which is
Starting point is 00:08:43 like totally opposite to how you lost weight in the first place, right? So just make sure you're in the right place with that. Make sure you're in the right place with that. Anything else? Someone was asking about podcasts. Finally, someone was asking today, if they don't sign up again, can they still listen to all the daily podcasts? So right now, as it stands, you can, but that is changing. The podcast will be included with the purchase of the program. Now, you'll be able to purchase just the podcast if you want. Eventually, we're going to put them behind a paywall because they should be included with the program. So that's going to be happening soon. So just a heads up on that for anyone who's like, Oh, I'm just not going to bother signing up. I'm just going to
Starting point is 00:09:22 listen to the podcast every day. I cannot guarantee that you're going to be able to listen to all of those because we're changing that this spring, or they will be included. Of course, right? Of course, it's our guest experts. It's our guest experts time. They will be included in the purchase of the program. Otherwise, if you want, you'll be able to pay for them outside of that.
Starting point is 00:09:43 So just a heads up on that. All right, let's go. Dr. Kane said to stay on the weight loss. Hate that name for a year to give your body time to adjust before joining the maintenance program. It's about behavioral change for long-term life. Yeah, so we had Dr. Ruth on, was it Monday or Tuesday? Oh my God. I love that woman.
Starting point is 00:10:03 She's amazing. And it's really interesting. She's like, you should commit to a year. And she's right, because it's not just losing the weight. It's creating and supporting the habits that are gonna support your new lifestyle. And permanent change takes time. That's what we're going after, right?
Starting point is 00:10:19 We're actually making real change, physically, mentally, all of that. Because here's how I frame that. How many of you have been following a quick fix diets for how many years? 20 years, how's that quick fix diet going for you? Right? And putting that focused amount of time
Starting point is 00:10:38 and showing up for yourself for a year, three programs, asking the four questions, prioritizing yourself, being in tune, managing your stress, trying to get better sleep, moving your body, all of that. Focus on yourself, focus on yourself, right? For that amount of time. I can tell you, I've been around for 25, 24 programs. My next program is gonna be my 25th program.
Starting point is 00:11:03 I am still learning. I am still learning. I'm still learning about myself. I'm learning. That's the science changes. I'm learning. I'm learning from our guest experts. There's no downside. There's no downside.
Starting point is 00:11:15 And then also, different seasons of the seasons, like actual changing seasons. There's a nuance to that. And different seasons of your life, different seasons of your life. I hear you, Gina. 11 pounds to my forever goal. Sign up for the next program, my fourth round. So excited.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Every program I find new things to work on. Right? Yeah. And this is like you're building. So you're building on everything you've done. You're just like you're turning the page. You're like, OK, I did that. I worked through this.
Starting point is 00:11:42 I worked through that. Now I'm turning the page. That's why it's a great idea as a program comes to an end to really reflect on your journey here and everything that you have done and what's worked really well for you. So more of that maybe what hasn't worked well for you. So maybe less of that or trying to figure out ways to best support yourself. But more than that really honoring that you've made change. Like you have made change, not just physically, not just on the scale, not just physically on the outside, physically on the inside. And then more importantly, mentally, like who you are, the energy you're putting out, how you're showing up, your relationship with yourself. That's changed, right?
Starting point is 00:12:26 That's changed. So when you go into the next program, you're taking that with you. And it is the opportunity to start again from where you're at now, which is really cool. I gained seven pounds I lost when I went dog sitting, back being at home, stop being focused on myself. So remember, language is really important. The words that you language is really important. The words that you use is really important to gain seven pounds. Like, I don't even know, I wish I
Starting point is 00:12:50 had a visual for that. Like in order to gain seven pounds, you'd have to eat like an extra 300 and 3500 calories a day. And even then, that's like less than a pound and so you'd have to eat an excessive excessive excessive excessive amounts of food in order to gain seven pounds. Now depending on where you're at in your cycle if you are dehydrated if you have been working out if you have not gotten any sleep if you have eaten salty food your weight can easily be up five, if you have not gotten any sleep, if you have eaten salty food, your weight can easily be up five pounds. If you weigh yourself in the morning, weigh yourself at night, your weight can be up like
Starting point is 00:13:31 five to 10 pounds, depending on the kind of day that you've had. In the summertime, if I weigh myself in the morning and then it's hot and I have some a couple beers and I have some chippies and I have I don't know a burger and fries which that will not cause me to gain any weight. If I weigh myself at the end of the day my weight's probably at five six pounds easy. It's not real weight gain so it's really important it's very very very difficult to gain seven pounds to take the foods that you are eating and have them convert them into fat. So your weight is up seven pounds right your weight is up seven pounds, right?
Starting point is 00:14:05 Your weight is up seven pounds. So this is where you would get back on track, get back to drinking the water, get back on track with the with the foods, you know, try to get better sleep, all of that. So it's really important because that that's very dense, very detrimental to your mind, your mental health. I gained the five pounds I lost. No, it's not actually, it's also impossible, right? It's also impossible. It's just not how the body works. The scale
Starting point is 00:14:31 can fluctuate a lot. Um, but there's just, just no way, unless you literally have not been following the program at all for like, or doing anything for about the last three months, then sure, maybe over the course of three months you can gain seven pounds, but not while you're following the program, not even while you're half-assing the program, not even while you're just kind of sort of doing the program. It's a lot more work. I used to help people try to gain weight and it's so difficult to actually gain real weight. Weight fluctuates a lot. Now you can also add inflammation if you eat foods that, like, you know, not healthy foods.
Starting point is 00:15:11 I hate villainizing foods, so I hate kind of using examples. But if you, if you, those foods cause junk foods, for lack of a better word, I just hate villainizing any kind of food. But anyway, junk food can cause you to be inflamed and your weight can be up due to that. Right? This way, you know, your muscles are sore, you're achy, all of that. So, so lots of reasons why your weight will be up that is not real weight gain. Just get back at it. If I make a protein shake for breakfast, do I count it as fluid or under breakfast? In less nitpicking your fluids, I would just get your water in as your water.
Starting point is 00:15:52 What I would do is take the components. If you're having a protein shake for breakfast, are you adding anything with it? Are you adding vegetables, healthy fats, leafy greens in there? Like, you still want to have like, ideally have those components, right? So whatever you're adding to it, if you're just doing like water and your protein powder, then maybe I would just use that as fluids, but I would also check off the protein component. That's an interesting question. It depends on what you're adding. If you're adding something in it or it's just the water with the protein powder, then you could use that as fluid and you can click off the protein as well. Because breakfast is... The only reason I would say that is because breakfast is optional. You don't have to have breakfast, although it's still beneficial to chew. I cannot
Starting point is 00:16:46 still beneficial to chew. It's still, I cannot emphasize it's so important to chew your food. This is also why I'm not a fan of liquid nutrients because there's an element of digestion that happens only when you are chewing your food and you're not getting that when you're drinking your fluids. But because that's breakfast, yeah, I would count that as water and then you could count the protein as check off your protein. That's a great question. That's a great question. Well past programs, podcasts be available if you go back to review, not on our podcast. So on the Livvy Method podcast, that's going to be going behind a paywall, all of it.
Starting point is 00:17:20 And so you'll have to pay for that. If you're not doing the program, if you're doing the program, it will be included. Of course, hopefully I don't have to explain that to anybody. It's been very generous that we've done it this way. It's only because we're figuring out a way to how to get that into an app for people and make it as easy as possible. Our first mission is making it as easy as possible for people. I do have the Way in Magina podcast that will be available for free.
Starting point is 00:17:43 That's where I will have guest experts come on. That's where I have a variety of different conversations. So you can still enjoy that. But the end of the day, listen, um, you got to pay for the program. We have, it's not just me that you're paying. We have our team of people who show up every day to support you. We have our, our HR people, we have our production people, we have our social media people, we have our program specialists, we have our shift supervisors, we have our managers, we have content people, we have
Starting point is 00:18:08 all those people who need to live a life and get paid for the job that they're doing. So hopefully I won't have to explain that. And we will always keep the program affordable and accessible for people as much as that's our whole motto, accessible, affordable, doable, sustainable. So yes, happy said he'll join me next round. Will it work if he doesn't purchase the program and just listen to mine? Oh, it'll work for sure. We have we have so many, you know,
Starting point is 00:18:33 spouses, I like to say spouses, follow along and be super successful. If he wants to use the app, they will have to purchase the app. That's the only difference. He'll have to purchase his own program for him to use the app, they will have to purchase the app. That's the only difference. He'll have to purchase his own program for him to use the app. I also think it's a good idea for you because that's so beneficial to use the app for you to individually purchase your own program
Starting point is 00:18:54 if it's affordable for you because you're on an individual journey. Yes, you are doing it together, but I've worked with husbands and wives and partners before. And it's really important that you both individually look at it like your own journey. Now if you're the one cooking the foods and doing that, he'll probably lose weight anyway that I don't know how many times I've heard that. But if he's on his own personal mission to lose weight and has a significant amount,
Starting point is 00:19:20 then I highly suggest he looks at it as him doing the program himself and using the app is a really effective way to follow along especially if he's not on Facebook all day using the app is a great way to do that. Now you could do it like this where if he uses the app and you're more of a Facebook person he can use the app you can use the Facebook that's one way that it can work that's one way that it can work. That's one way that you can work. Oh, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do. Gotta go. Bye, Joy. Have a great day.
Starting point is 00:19:54 This is my new career. We tried it for nine years and found something for me entirely. I love that. I've started this new thing of trying to learn something new or do something new every year. So this year I wanna learn Cantonese so I can speak to my in-laws.
Starting point is 00:20:08 So that's one thing that I'm on a mission to do, is learn Cantonese. I took up golf last year and so this year I might do a couple of horseback riding lessons. I think, I'm not sure. That's sort of my new thing is stepping out of comfort zone and trying something new or learning something new to build on all the things that I've done. Let's take a minute out to hear from our podcast sponsor today. I mean, listen, we're always talking about how important it is to take care of your skin.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Your skin is your body's largest organ. We also talk about the importance of creating routines, especially a nighttime routine that can help us sleep. But this one here is for the new moms because Aveeno has a product for newborn babies. Skin is the first line of defense and baby skin is about 30% thinner than our mature skin, making it even more important to take action to help strengthen skin moisture barrier. So using the power of oats as the hero ingredient, Avino Baby harnesses the power of oat to help achieve skin hydration. So if you're looking to learn more about how you can maintain and strengthen your baby's skincare, head over to the website avino.ca.
Starting point is 00:21:18 That's A-V-E-E-N-O.ca. My first program, I'm down 29 pounds so far. The last few weeks I lost steam, but this week I gave myself a swift kick in the ass and I'm finishing off strong. There you go. Looking forward to the spring program. We had a great conversation with Dr. Beverly a couple of weeks ago. Was it last week or the week before?
Starting point is 00:21:42 And it was about this. It was about that losing steam, totally normal. Man, are we all not tired? Like, come on, it's been a lot. Constantly showing up, day in, day out, that shit gets exhausting. That's why you have to refocus on your why. Why am I here?
Starting point is 00:21:56 What's going on? Why am I showing up every day? Sometimes you lose steam because your why changes. Because the why that you started with, it's a different why now, right? Like that what motivated you to sign up is not going to be necessarily what motivates you to finish and what motivates you throughout your entire journey. So it's a great idea to check in on like, okay, I'm not really feeling it. Why I signed up, I
Starting point is 00:22:19 committed to the 91 days I'm doing really well or what's going on in my life. What's happening? What's this? What's it? my life, what's happening, what's this, what's, do I always kind of feel like this at this time in the year? It's not that weird. I go, this morning, you know, yesterday there was snow on the ground, this morning the birds are chirping like, which one is it? Fuck, already. Come on, I don't want to see anymore snow.
Starting point is 00:22:40 I love, I love, I love skiing. I love that. I don't want to see anymore. Right? We just get tired. don't want to see anymore. Right? We just get tired. I just want to go outside. It could be like the time of year, season could be like what's going on in your life or your job.
Starting point is 00:22:51 Like there's lots of reasons why we why prioritizing yourself and working through your stuff is hard to write. Like it's this what I mean by tired. It's it's so here's what happens. You work through something, clear that away and just the universe is like, oh, amazing. Here's more. And then you work through this and you clear that away
Starting point is 00:23:10 and then more clear. I mean, that's what it is. We're meant to learn and grow and evolve. Sometimes that can be relentless, especially if you've gone on a mission of change. Sometimes I say to the universe, okay, we just need to hold up. I mean, wait a minute. I just need a second here. Like we just need to hold up. I mean, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:23:25 I just need a second here. Like I just need to not learn anything today or this week. And then I got to turn it back on. I do have to say, hey, okay, I'm ready to go. I had a break, bring it on. Bring me on the challenges that I need in order to grow and evolve and move forward. Sometimes I call it the step back, right?
Starting point is 00:23:42 Sometimes the step back or the set back is the set up to keep you moving forward. Sometimes I just like universe. I need a break. I love all the challenges that you are sending to me. I need a break. I need a break right now, right? Sometimes you just need a minute and then you step back and you come back stronger. Every time I've ever stepped back, I've come back stronger, better,
Starting point is 00:24:07 ready to go, re-energized. Let's go. Sometimes it's been a big, like, been more of a setback rather than a step back. And the bigger the setback, the stronger I come back every time. So I think it's good. Sometimes it's good to do that. My first time down 32 pounds, plan on finishing strong. I guess so. My goodness. Good for you. Good for anybody else have a sore elbow from drinking water. Yeah, I hear you. I hear you. Ultra processed foods. Thank you, Cathy. Ultra processed foods. I went out last night.
Starting point is 00:24:49 I was in bed by 10. I did not drink. But it's just like, I drove downtown Toronto. I don't know if it's my menopause brain or whatever, but the driving, the parking, it's like stressful. And then being around people. I love being around people. It's also stressful.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Believe it or not, I'm like, I'm an introvert. As though I can sit up here and I talk and you've probably met me. And I'm just like, it's so lovely because I feel like I know our members. So that's a comfortable place for me. But otherwise, being around people is very uncomfortable. But my friend Sonia and I went downtown for the Wellspring. It's a fundraiser for cancer that my friend Heather, I went one year to support her. She was walking in the fashion show
Starting point is 00:25:31 and she raised while she was battling cancer, I think she raised over $150,000. I think close to 200,000, she's incredible. And so I went to support her there and the following year, unfortunately, she passed away. And so it's just something that Sonja and I do in remembrance of her. It's beautiful and lovely. It's also incredibly sad.
Starting point is 00:25:55 But my point is, if you haven't seen it, we did a documentary of Heather. She was like the proudest Libby loser. And she was a personal client of mine and she ha, she was living out in Halifax, uh, out East. Uh, and, um, she did the program and she lost like 66 pounds, 60, 70, 60, 70 pounds. And, uh, while she was working with me, she was having some pain and she thought it's her gallbladder. I'm like, there's no way it's her gallbladder. It's no way because you're losing weight in a healthy way. And unfortunately, it was not her gallbladder.
Starting point is 00:26:29 It was cancer. And so we did a, I said to her, we were doing it, we started a docu-series. We want to document our members' journey. It's pretty incredible what our members are doing. And we started with Heather and I said, hey, do you want to do a documentary? And she's like, I'm all in for it.
Starting point is 00:26:45 And she truly believes that she had not lost the weight and been as in tune with her body. She would never have caught the cancer. It's pretty unbelievable that she was as in tune and caught it. And she believes it bought her the next few years of her life. She really believes that. And we had an opportunity to sit down with her a few months before she passed away
Starting point is 00:27:05 and just to hear from her and to share from her. If you haven't seen it, it is up on our YouTube video. I did repost it in my Instagram story, my Instagram story last night. If you want to watch it, it's a beautiful documentary. It's just, it's got a great message to it. Take care of yourself. Nick, what's the motivation? You know, when the motivation is because you love yourself and to take care of yourself and be the best person that you can be. I can't even do it justice because it's really just all about her. But yeah, so I'm a little tired from that. I think it was emotional night last night. So but thank you. So, I just want to remind you that this is so much bigger. Weight loss, this is so much bigger than you fitting into your genes.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Like MJ, for example, who got a no cancer diagnosis, you know, and doing the program, working hard on being, it's not about weight loss. It maybe sometimes starts about weight loss, but it's so much more than that. It's a how to be healthy, actually. Like it's how to help your body systematically become healthier. And your body's always repairing and rebuilding
Starting point is 00:28:17 and regenerating and rejuvenating. And not just healthier, but happier, working through all the things, your issues. It's not beyond, like I hope you understand when you're working through your issues with food, you're working through your issues with everything. When you put your energy directed at yourself and you say to the universe, I want to lose this weight and I want to whatever, it's also everything that comes with that too, right? Like how is your life going to change if you're this healthy or happier person?
Starting point is 00:28:45 How is that going to affect your choices that you're making in life? It puts you into everything that works for you across the board, not just when to eat and what. What works for you in situations, work situations, life situations, people in your life, relationships, what you choose to do, what you choose to allow in your life and what you choose to let go of in your life. It's all just so much bigger than weight loss at the end of the day. And whether you like it or not, that's all been built into the program. This comes back to my guru of mine, Marcel. And he was big into metaphysics, energy work,
Starting point is 00:29:22 and grounding and being in tune. I actually like a reeky master, a lot of people don't know that. I don't start something I talk about if you're into that. I've never used it to allow people on a table and do energy work, but I'm in tune and connect up. Every day when I sit here, I'm thinking about all of everyone listening and watching
Starting point is 00:29:42 and what do they need to hear? Where are they at? You know, when someone asks a question, I think about them, okay, what angle are they coming from? That's why sometimes I start with this and go here and go there. I'm trying to think of my mind when someone's asked this question, all the different ways in to help with that, answer that, provide that aha moment to get them thinking. That's why sometimes it might seem a little I'm coming at it from all angles.
Starting point is 00:30:07 I'm trying to answer someone's question coming at it from all angles. And then also thinking about the thousands of people also listening who might be dealing with a very similar thing, right? That's why sometimes you might, you know, someone who says, Oh, I'm having a hard time. I just feel like giving up. Sometimes I'm very supportive. And then sometimes I'm like, well, then just give up and just give up. Sometimes people need to hear that. Some people need to hear like not oh nice and supportive. They need to hear okay so what if so quit then.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Quit then. You're so unhappy, so miserable. It's not working for you. Quit. Right? Quit then. And then like whoa wait I don't actually want to quit. I do want to quit. I fucking hate this I want to be done my weight loss journey, but I actually don't want to quit I don't want to give up on myself. You know, I've learned a lot through the years, please Please please before I go to fill out the survey, please fill out the survey I would love for this to be the the most people of any group that ever filled out the survey I think the most of any one group was like seven thousand or something. How was it? That's the most anyone group Is it eleven thousand seven, 7,000? Please. Yeah. 6,000. Please fill out the survey.
Starting point is 00:31:18 If you care at all about the program, about your own journey, about other people on their journey, I want to make this program better. I feel like we're just getting started. Please tell me what you loved, what you didn't like. Please take the time to fill out the survey. We really look through it and we really want to know what you think and what you feel. But we had Dave and Jason on the program and they politely reminded me of this time that I told someone to fuck off because I'm human. This is what you get. I'm human. I'm here for you. I'm human. I mean this is what you get. I'm human. I'm here for you.
Starting point is 00:31:45 I'm not a robot. I actually do care. One day I was really tired and someone was like ragging on me about what I was doing. I was talking too fast and whatever and I was just like I'm fucking here. Leave me alone. I have been since apologize. That was maybe a little rough. What I learned was sometimes I need to take time for me and I probably should not have
Starting point is 00:32:00 gone live but I felt like I needed to because I didn't want to let people down but it was in a really I was having a really hard, like it was like probably the midst of like, there's a lot going on. Um, and, um, it reminded me of people. So because I love this, the supportive environment, I really wanted to create a supportive environment, not just that's toxic positivity, sunshine and rainbows where people really could really feel supported, feel heard, feel safe, and that means me, it's gotta be a safe place me. It's got to be a safe place for my team.
Starting point is 00:32:28 So in the past, people have been like, oh yeah, I can't believe you said that and you're so rude and your hair looks awful and I hate your shirt and I hate your, I'm just like, fuck off. I kick them out of the program. I don't kick them out. I politely remove them and then I give the money back. So I'm like, and I send them a message to say, Hey, saw your comment in the group today. I think the best thing to do is to provide you with a refund so you can find a program better suited to your needs. Every single time I would get hit up with a two page email on how much they love the program. Please don't kick me out. This is the best program ever. I've ever done. This is the only thing that's ever worked for me
Starting point is 00:33:05 I'm like What the fuck? Why are you such a rude-ass bitch then like what's your deal? then I Realized that people are really struggling and have some real fields. It's not about me Gina It's not about you. You're the easy target. It's not about the program. That's just the thing. It was that people were having a really hard time
Starting point is 00:33:30 and they were just kind of like, that's their way of expression. Is it right? Nah, is a nicer way to say it? Absolutely. But I've come to really realize that, you know, this is a frustrating process. And when you're frustrated, sometimes you say things
Starting point is 00:33:46 and do things that are a little out there. So I've learned a lot. I've learned a lot about people, about what they need, how they could be supportive, and really what it means to accept everybody and to really what it means to come from a place that's non-judgmental. I don't know how I got on that topic.
Starting point is 00:34:03 It all started with trying to say ultra-processed. Hey, Cathy. We're not working. All right. Let me scroll down to the bottom. Let's see where some people are at here. I just finished eight weeks of riding lessons. All older women loved it. Going back for next June. Thank you. Yes. I am a little, I always wanted a horse. My mom had a horse. And so was it realistically? Was it unrealistic for me to ask for a horse? I don't think so One time my dad joked and and said I was getting a horse for my birthday or something I still feel hurt by that by the way, but I always wanted a horse I used to help my uncle with his horses
Starting point is 00:34:43 And I just never got into it because I love horses, but I'm somewhat a little bit afraid to Tony and I went horseback riding when we were in Dominican but I want to learn. I want to actually like learn. So I love that more merch, more, more, more merch. We are working on it. We have some merch from our, our say our, say, our, when our, our conferences. So we are working on some, some March. Um, ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba.
Starting point is 00:35:10 I can say without any doubt this program has completely changed me and my life. April will be two years on the Libby. Hi, Kim. Right. Change my life too. My goodness. I'm down about 18 to 20 pounds, but I am up so much. Mm, love that.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Knowledge, energy, sleep, mindset, mindfulness, strength, motivation, I could go on and on. I lost my incredible father this past October to dementia. And that and this program has motivated me and taught me so much about how important it is to look after our bodies. Yeah, and our just yes, our bodies, our minds, not just physically, there you go, but, ah, right? But mentally, mindfully, let me just say that again, look after our bodies, not just physically,
Starting point is 00:35:58 but mentally, mindfully, this program encompasses all facets of ensuring a healthy brain. Thank you for everything you offer for us for so little cost. Oh, thank you so much. Dementia Alzheimer's runs in my family as well. I'm very cognizant of that too, right? Brain health is really important. Everything that we're doing here. I love that you mentioned that it's not just healthy for your body and not just healthy
Starting point is 00:36:25 for you mentally, actually for your brain health. And I think what I hope we get to is that you lose your weight, then you go through a process of maintaining your weight, and then you get to where you live your life. And then it becomes about aging, right? But not aging, living while you are aging. We all want to age. That's like such a gift. It's such a gift to continue to wake up each and every day.
Starting point is 00:36:53 But we want to be able to live our lives. And as we start to learn more about dementia, Alzheimer's, we are starting to learn that these are lifestyle diseases. And yes, maybe genetics is playing a role, but there's a lot of control that you have in the way that you are living in the lifestyle that you're living at the end of the day. And again, I think the takeaway is this is so much. I hope you appreciate still being here at this point. What you've done for yourself is so much more than what you are seeing on the scale.
Starting point is 00:37:23 You are so much more than what is happening on the scale. I hope that's the takeaway today. Tomorrow, Tanya Gelsomino is going to join me. I call her a fashionista. She owns a couple of fashion stores. You might know Yaya. If you saw the dress I wore yesterday, she's lovely. She did the program originally. I think she lost 70 pounds. She's a big fan of the program. And we're going to talk about your ever changing body and what that means. And it's so much more than just a new wardrobe. It's embracing who you are.
Starting point is 00:37:55 It's stepping outside of your comfort zone. And maybe the way you were dressing before was to hide, was to make yourself small, was to whatever that might be. And now you feel like you're no longer that person anymore. And how is that reflected in the way you're dressing yourself? It's deep, man. I did it the first time I had this conversation. I thought we were just going to talk about wardrobe capsules and what was on trend in
Starting point is 00:38:20 fashion and ended up being so much more than that. It continues to be so much more than that. So tomorrow you'll have an opportunity if you haven't met Tonya. You know it's really interesting. It's like you know you it's it's interesting because you know I wish everyone carried plus plus sizes sizes for everybody but I always find and I'm going to go off here a little bit. You know Tonya runs a store she carries XL up to XL and online and whatnot. So she does carry XL sizes. And then whenever I have her on, there's always this thing where people are like, you should
Starting point is 00:38:52 only support people that carry XL plus. And I'm like, but there's a lot of people in the program who can't shop in the plus stores, and they're entitled to lose weight too. And then I also know business, right? Like if you have a store that's not known for carrying the plus sizes, you can carry all the plus sizes you want and do all the marketing you want. That doesn't mean people are going to come in and buy that from you. And that's a lot of extra money and a lot of extra stock. Like you've got to run a business that's viable.
Starting point is 00:39:24 And that's why you have specialty stores. If I have a specialty stores and then what's really interesting is that because she's lost 70 pounds, she's just because you know, she doesn't carry plus plus plus sizes doesn't mean that she can't have this conversation. What's interesting is that you have people who are shopping in a tall and large or the plus size stores and that that's no longer their place anymore. Right. And it's a whole thing you keep we heard this time and time again, you keep going to those stores, and there's
Starting point is 00:39:53 nothing there for you. But you keep going to those stores and there's nothing there for you. And that's a lot to take yourself what feels like you're outside of your comfort zone when you're walking into stores that you feel like didn't have things for you that weren't for you. Right. And what I love about Tanya, she's very welcoming and she talks about how to how to make that move. Right. How to make that move. So it's really interesting. It's a deep conversation. You'll love her. She's just genuine and amazing. I can't wait to fit into Tanya's clothes, right? I know I love that.
Starting point is 00:40:25 Okay, I gotta go. I don't want to go because I'm having fun, but I gotta go. You got to go too. You have to get out. You have to do your things and live your life. Have an amazing rest of your day. If you want to join me tomorrow, hopefully I will see you then. We're not done yet.
Starting point is 00:40:39 We're not done yet. We're not done yet. We're done yet. Make sure you get signed up for the April program. Tell your friends, tell your family, you know, once we start, you can't get in, right? There's a limitation there. Get yourself signed up. What else, what else?
Starting point is 00:40:50 All next week is about maintenance, but it's still very much move the dial on the scale for everyone looking to lose. And you're gonna wanna hear about maintenance too. So stick around, we're not going anywhere. Finish strong, you wanna be here on the final day. Like Julie Keeon said, the feeling you will have at the end of the day,
Starting point is 00:41:05 whether it's your first program or 24th program, it will just be amazing. Have a great day, everyone. I'll see you later. Bye.
