Episode Date: July 16, 2025Gina Livy's Facebook Lives from The Livy Method Spring 2025 Support Group hosted on Facebook. This is a recording of the Day 87, 9 AM live. You can find the full video hosted at: www.facebook.com/grou...ps/livymethodspring2025In this episode, Gina unpacks some powerful mindset shifts that take your weight loss journey beyond the scale. She kicks things off with a reminder that the goal is the process—that lasting change comes from building new habits, not just dropping pounds. From there, she encourages you to live like it’s already yours, showing up each day with the energy and intention of someone who’s already achieved their goals. Gina also breaks down summer fluctuations and why indulging doesn’t automatically mean gaining real weight. Midway through, she challenges listeners to reflect on who they’ve become after 91 days, emphasizing identity over outcomes. Plus, she shares how setbacks can offer insight, how routines keep you grounded when life gets busy, and how growth might shift your relationships—and that’s okay. It’s a thoughtful, motivating listen for anyone wrapping up The Program or moving into Maintenance with clarity and confidence. To learn more about The Livy Method, visit livymethod.com. I'm Gina Livi and welcome to the Livi Method Podcast.
This is where you'll have access to all of the live streams from my 91 Day Weight Loss
program.
With a combination of daily lives, guest expert interviews, and member stories, there is something
new almost every day.
Miss the Morning Live?
Want to relisten to one of our amazing guest experts?
Well, this is the place.
This podcast is hosted on Acast cast but it's available on all podcast
platforms, including the one you're listening to right now,
Spotify, Apple and Amazon Music. Is it time for a girls trip
spoiler alert, it's always time for a girls trip, which means
it's time for our podcast sponsor today sell off
vacations. Whether you're craving sun, sand, salsa dancing,
or just a stretch of dune, nothing on the beach time, Cuba is calling. And trust me,
Cuba es única, which means Cuba is unique and this island is one of a kind. If you want
to do it right and do it for less, book with the travel pros at Sell-Off Vacations. They've been planning epic, I mean epic, getaways for Canadians for over 30 years and no one
knows Cuba like they do.
We're talking Verodero, Havana, Keokuk, Mojitos, absolutely mandatory.
The best part, their best price bonus.
I love this because it means if you find a better deal, they'll beat it.
And that's money back in your wallet for spa treatments, cocktails, or a matching
hat moment with the girls. I love to match. I love to match. So what are you
waiting for? Happy Travels starts at SoloffVacations.com. Good morning,
happy day. When is it? 87 of the program. I'm just finishing up breakfast. Tony
brought me breakfast in bed. So there we go. So I'm still the program. I'm just finishing up breakfast. Tony brought me breakfast in bed.
So there we go.
So I'm still eating it.
I'm moving a little slow today.
My dog is hanging around.
My dog, Jasmine, I don't know if you heard me talk about her.
She was not doing well a couple months ago.
We literally were told to put her down.
Turns out she has dog vertigo.
She's kind of a little bit on the older side.
Anyway, she walks with a bit of a head tilt and is a little dizzy sometimes, but she is
doing amazing.
But every day is like a gift with her.
So like it's just like, I love her.
Anyway, I don't know about you, but I am just, I have been giddy all week long
because it's such a vibe to be here
at the end of the program.
You spend any time at all on that celebrate
and inspire post, my goodness.
I don't know how you can't be inspired and motivated.
I know some of you feel like you didn't show up
in the way that you liked,
or you didn't get the results that you want.
That's okay, that's all just part of it.
It really is, it's such a process. Brilliant conversation with Dr. Alinka and Dr. Beverly
and Dr. Dina on Tuesday. And Dr. Alinka said the goal is the process. The goal is the process.
It's the things that you're working on and working through and learning and unlearning while you are trying
to lose this weight that's really gonna lead
to making a change in your life.
And that's what you're doing.
You're designing the life you want to live
and working through the old habits that no longer serve you,
creating new habits that do serve you.
And you know that feeling that you have like, you know,
What you are meant for, you know, how you want to be like, you can
feel it, but it's sometimes feel so far away.
It's just knowing that that is what you that's where you're going
and then every day the small things that you do that add up and make a big difference.
And then somehow, some way, you get there.
Listen, my life is a hot mess.
Not too long ago, car repossessed, behind in my rent, wondering how I'm going to feed
my kids, husband sick, going through divorce, not having having to sell my business, like not sell
my business, shut my business down, it'd been nice to sell it.
Just a fucking hot mess.
And it wasn't because I wasn't working hard.
It wasn't because I wasn't doing, trying to do stuff.
It was just life smacking the shit out of my, shit out of me.
And somehow, some way, I am here now.
I'm here now.
It's like I'm living a completely different life.
And every now and then I run into someone
or I'm talking with someone, they're like,
how did you do it?
And there's not one big thing that I did.
I watch The Secret a lot.
I don't know because remember The Secret,
which is all about manifestation,
which is really interesting, which is really interesting.
Because it's really just knowing what you want
and living like you already have it.
Living like you already have it.
Oh my gosh, there are so many good quotes.
Where's all my notes?
I don't have them here from that conversation yesterday.
And one of them was Dr. Dena was sharing some advice
that she got that was like, live it, like be it,
or whatever you're after, be that every day.
And sure, you might not be there yet,
but I knew it didn't kinda, I knew exactly what I wanted. And I spent a lot of
time envisioning it. And then every move that I made was about getting it, for lack of a
better word, achieving it, for lack of a better word. And there were some days where I felt
like I was so productive. And other days I was just like hanging on by the skin of
my teeth. And it's not what you think. It's when you think to go for that walk, go for
that walk. When you think to make that call, make that call. When you think to whatever
it is, take action on it, which isn't an easy thing to do. Self-awareness is so huge. Self-awareness
is such a huge thing. I was supposed to have a conversation with
a guest on my podcast yesterday, Dr. Carolyn Leaf. I'm trying to find the notes. Where
are they? She's really interesting because she basically talks about the science behind
your thoughts and your feelings and how they affect your body and the choices
that you're making. We talk a lot about that and talk about the secret, talks about those
things aligning. There is actually a lot of science behind that. Anyway, let's, I love
the secret, right? If you talk to my kids, I would just watch it every single day. I had no idea how I was going to get out of the hole that I was in.
And I just, the secret and then Gabby Bernstein, Gabby Bernstein's book, she had a book, life,
what is it?
I can't remember the name of it.
But I read one of her books as well.
And you know, what's really interesting is like sort of full circle moment.
I was actually on stage with Gabby Bernstein at the Oric Living Conference a few years
ago.
I actually got to be on stage with Gabby and interview her.
And I did a talk right before her.
So it was it's really incredible.
You can have the things that you want in your life, maybe not to the extent that you want them.
I would love to have a billion dollars.
I don't know that I'll ever have a billion dollars.
Maybe I'll get as close as I possibly can.
I know I wanted to be in a relationship with someone
that I could be myself and was just joyful
and giving and not compromising and to be
with someone who loved my children like their own.
If you can imagine, I have four, four, and someone who loves my passion for my work because
my work is like, it's just my passion. And now I have this great guy who literally just fucking served me breakfast in bed.
I'm like, eggs and bacon and like, what? It's my birthday?
But yeah, and you know, now listen, it's not without its issues, my life.
Definitely far from perfect, far from perfect.
But I just want to say
it's the little things that you do that add up and life gets in the way. Life gets in the way and
that's totally normal. But I love where we're at in the program this week. Make sure you are
super clear on next steps. If you're joining us in the summer club, joining us in the fall,
not joining us again, make sure you are super clear on
next steps. The BOD Squad, yeah. So if you missed the conversation on Tuesday, Dr. Beverly
was sharing that. The first letter of their names adds up to BOD. And then of course out
of that came the BOD Squad. And then out of that came a whole bunch of fun. Get bacon. I know. Yeah, and bacon.
I love bacon. It's one of my favorite things. Obviously, you know, I try to avoid a lot
of processed meats. I have charcuterie. I have bacon. I just do my best. I do my best.
All right. Let's get into where you are all at and how you are feeling.
So tomorrow, hi, Kathy, I'm here until I leave for my golf game.
I can respect that.
I've taken up golf.
It's like my new meditation.
I love it because you literally cannot think about anything else than hitting that ball
in the hole.
So have a great game today.
Hi, Dave Stewart.
Good morning, peeps. Hope,
hope everyone is beating the heat and shedding some pounds while you're out at
yeah. Um, the summer is a great time to lose weight because all like when it is
hot, the last thing your body needs is this excess fat hanging around. Um,
but it can mess with your mind because when it's hot, the scale can be up.
Because just like anything in the heat, your body swells and then it retains water, right?
It's a great time to focus on fat loss in the summer.
This is my second last live, so just a heads up tomorrow is the last live.
Dr. Ruth Cain is going to come and join me.
I love her.
She has such a passion for the program, so independent, because she got government funding
to study the living method.
She obviously is a legit professor.
And I can't influence her at all, although I would love to.
Every time I talk to Ruth, I feel like,
I have this doom and gloom, oh my God,
she's gonna tell me what I'm doing isn't working,
and that I suck and all of that.
And it's never that.
She definitely brings
the real deal. She'll let me know if things aren't working or whatnot, but I love Ruth.
I think you should join and listen. If you can't join us live, then listen after the fact because
she was like reinforced that what you are doing actually does work and is worth doing for sure.
I tried living like I already have it.
Then the credit card bill came in and it wasn't here yet.
Yeah, I get that, right?
Because I was so broke, so broke.
And because I just couldn't work because my husband was sick
and we lived kind of further away from where my work was.
And I had to kind of turn that around and figure out
what the hell I was gonna do.
And in the moment, it can seem like,
just like if you have 100 pounds to lose,
and it can seem like you're just so far away.
But what's really interesting is time goes by really fast.
And I say this to my kids, especially my oldest daughter,
she's been in some situations,
she's got herself in some situations. And I say, look, this might seem like the end of the world now, but the
little things you do are going to change your situation.
And time just seems to go by so fast or a memory of it anyway, works in a way that we're
just like, wow, like I, it's amazing how quickly you can change your situation.
Right? like I it's amazing how quickly you can change your situation right so I'm I'm
I have PTSD for sure from you know trying to figure out how to feed my
kids and at the time I probably could have asked for help too like my you know
my parents are definitely not like rolling in dough that's for sure I
probably could ask for a little bit more help, but I just was so stubborn in not asking
for help. I later changed that where there was a moment when I was completely on my own where I was
like, okay, I got to ask for help here. Not financially, but I reached out to a friend who
owned a studio, Function Studio, and I'm like, listen, I need a job, I need to work, I need a
place to work out of. And so she so graciously helped me and whatnot.
So I know it can seem like overwhelming and things aren't going to change, but
they can and they do, and they do.
Ginger and I are sitting here enjoying another Wednesday live.
Hi, Mike.
I have my patty bowl and Ginger is enjoying some nut butter and blueberries.
Good morning.
It doesn't feel good to wake up and fuel yourself with something that you feel good about
or feel good about the day before.
Wake up, you had a good sleep
because you've made all these changes, right?
It's a whole vibe, whole vibe.
Dr. B said, live from the place of the goal.
Yeah, live from the place of the goal.
I think that was Dr. Dino who said that.
There's no secret here.
When you average eight to 10 drinks a day for a week
and at least one ice cream,
your weight swings like a fat man
at the end of a 30 meter rope.
Dave.
Hey, listen, this is what, listen, you know,
there's room for that.
There is room for that.
There is room for that.
I was talking to my daughter.
She's gorgeous and bless her. She's working a job. She's outside. She's working a lot.
She's working at a tennis club raking the clay and doing all this stuff. And she's like,
I don't know what's I keep eating all this food and I'm eating. So I'm like, okay. She's
like, what should I go on a diet? I'm like, what? No, no, no, no. Tell me what's going
on with you. And then she's like, I'm just eating like so much. I'm like, no no no tell me what's going on with you, and then she's like I'm just eating like so much
I'm like, but you eat she cooks food. I'm like you eat good food. You're young like that's
This that can't be it you eating a lot of junk food
She's like well, and I was like it's probably eating at night because you know kids they stay up late
I'm like you got it and she now she's getting up really early
She's got to be at work for like six o'clock or something like that
I said what's probably happening is
you're eating way too late at night and it's messing with your sleep and you are
you know you're you have a pretty active job so she's like I feel bloated and I
just I don't feel good and then I'm like well tell me what you're eating and it
turns out every night she's eating these ice cream sandwiches with these like caramel covered cookies before she goes
to bed.
I'm like, and she's like, she probably is lactose intolerant.
She's got gluten issues.
She's got dairy issues.
And I'm like, okay, so you're waking up feeling bloated and just gluh.
And you know, you're eating these ice cream sandwiches every night before you go to bed,
which have gluten and dairy in them.
Okay, honey, maybe that's it. You don't need a diet, sweetheart.
And so summer can be, I'm indulging. So here's the thing. You'd have to try really hard to gain
any actual weight, but indulging can mess with our sleep, right? It can cause inflammation in our bodies.
You add the heat to that and your weight can be way up.
But remember that's what back on track is for.
So if you're getting to a point where you just feel like balls,
you go do a couple days of back on track, right?
Like that can be it for the summer.
That's not going to be it for your life.
Obviously summer is short.
Summer sweets like a big long vacation. We want to enjoy it. You're up for the summer. That's not going to be it for your life. Obviously, summer is short. Summer is sweet.
It's like a big long vacation.
We want to enjoy it.
You're up at the cottage.
You're camping.
You're socializing.
You're doing whatever.
Two steps forward, two steps back.
Two steps forward, two steps back.
That will keep you exactly where you are.
That's okay.
That's called maintenance.
Now, obviously, when you are trying to maintain your weight,
you want to really put a concentrated amount of effort into helping your body solidify
your weight without constantly challenging it, ideally.
But like that, there's nothing wrong with that, right?
There's nothing wrong with that.
Hoping the heat breaks before Def Leppard hits the stage at the Ottawa Blues Fest tonight,
planning to dance a few pounds away.
Oh my gosh, Margaret.
I think the heat, I mean, yes, stay hydrated.
We had our staff party actually just posted a real this morning about it.
We had a staff party this weekend and it was a heat wave.
Like it was a heat warning.
And we, one of the things we were doing is we were riding those group kind of party bikes
and we weren't drinking on the bikes, but we're trying to drink water.
And then the last stop was like a bar, a rooftop bar, where I think we all felt like we were
20 again. It was so fun. It was almost too hot to drink. Like literally it was too hot
to drink. I'm like, I drank half a Corona and I'm like, give me, give me a, and we did
lemonade shots. I'm like, give me some, give me some water. But man, just, just, I don't
know. It was just so fun. And it's so fun when it's nice and warm at night.
So stay hydrated, have the best time.
Sandy, I remember the secret.
I used to listen to it in my car.
Yeah, and the secret is really just
spending time with yourself in those quiet moments
and really like visualizing
how you would like your life to be. And not just like things.
It's not about things.
It's like, how do I want to feel?
How do I want to wake up in the morning?
What do I do?
Do I want to be dragging my ass out of bed or do I want to be bouncing out of bed excited
for my day and working out, going for a walk, meditating, journaling.
If I envision myself doing those things, how does my life fall in and around it?
If I'm bouncing out of bed, I'm definitely not drinking a bottle of wine before bed.
If I'm feeling fantastic when I wake up, I'm probably not snacking late at night, which
messes with my sleep and makes me feel tired and bloated the next
day. Right? How is that aligned with everything else? If I get up in the morning and I set the tone
and I feel great and I walk into my closet and I pull out clothes that I feel good in, it doesn't
mean I've reached my goal weight, doesn't mean I'm skinny mini, doesn't mean any of that, but I just
I reach for something and I'm like, okay, I feel great about my days. I meditated, journaled, exercised, I'm going to work, I'm packing some foods, I take my
supplements which make me feel good, you know, proactive for my health, I drive, however
I get to my work, I get there, I see people, I'm in meetings, I'm excited about what I'm
doing.
I'm, you know, how does that affect your whole day?
How do you want your life to be?
And then this is sort of like, who are you now?
Who is this person that has gone through
this three month transformation?
How are you gonna do this summer?
How are you gonna do your next vacation?
How are you gonna do your next celebratory day?
How are you gonna celebrate yourself?
How are you gonna manage the stressful? How are you going to manage
the stressful moments in your day? Right? And that's, that's just having a really clear
blueprint for your life. Right? It's like building a house. It's like building a house.
It's like, this is why your why is really important. It's like when you signed up, we
gave you a plot of land. Here's your land. Everyone gets your plot of land. Each week
we're going to give you tools
that you're going to use to build your house.
And you're going to show up every day
and you can build your house.
So first couple of weeks, you were building your foundation.
Then you put up your walls and your windows and all of that.
So it's kind of like if someone said, OK, go build your house.
And I gave you a blueprint.
This is like, this is what your house is going to look like
as opposed to someone else. You're just kind of like randomly building a house along the way.
If you know exactly what house you're building, it's so much easier to show up and build that
house than just trying to figure it out along the way. Right. So just it's really about being
really solid and why you're here and what you want and where you're going. You know,
really solid and why you're here and what you want and where you're going. You know, I just wanted to thank you.
The program is incredible.
Oh, thanks.
Deneen. Is it Deneen?
It's my first program and I'm only 10 pounds only 10 pounds.
Okay.
So one to two pounds a week is just that is like amazing, right?
And for so many just being here at the end, you know, depending on the
state of your body or what was going on in your life, that's incredible.
So you've fucking lost 10 pounds, which is amazing.
But I'm okay with it.
I can envision me reaching my goal
because of how this program gives you so many tools
and the support is unmatched.
Thank you, thank you.
That's what I'm here to do, right?
So what I've done is just shared,
it started out by me sharing everything that I've learned about helping people lose weight.
And I've tried a variety of different things with a variety of different people.
I've had a lot of deep conversations with people.
I've learned a lot about what it takes to lose weight, not just physically, but more
so mentally.
Right?
And it's been my job.
It's been my passion.
Other people are really good at other things. This is what I happen to be good at. And so what I've done is shared everything,
trying to share everything that I've learned and all the new stuff that I'm learning, which
is why I love our guest expert with you to give you the tools, to give you the tools.
And this is exactly it. Not everyone picks up what I'm putting down, you know? And so
I love that. Thank you so much.
But I also thank you.
And I know that sounds so cliche, but honest to God, if you guys didn't put your faith
in the living method, I wouldn't be able to do what I love.
My team wouldn't be able to do what I love.
So this is why I think community is really important.
And community can be a game changer.
Having this place where you know you are showing up every
day and trying to reach your goals with other people trying to do the same you
know. I love that this is your first program. I love that this is how you feel
at the end. It's so hard to explain the program when you are new but now that
you're able to go through it and look back I hope that you're like oh shit
this this makes sense this makes sense you know. I love that so much. That's a
whole vibe. That's a whole vibe. It's a whole vibe. I'm trying to get back into this way of living
and thinking right now too, following the abundance alchemist on Instagram and seems to be resonating
with me. Just need to keep it going. That's the hard part. One bump in the road sets you back a mile. So if you can look at the setbacks, I know cliche again as the set up,
setbacks are you really learning what doesn't work for you. It's really important and that's how you
break habits. It's not just like sticking to the thing and just doing the thing and never doing the other thing
ever again. It's falling back and recognizing, oh, that doesn't work for me anymore. That doesn't
serve me anymore. There have been so many times in my life where I wanted something
and it's never happened on the timeline that I wanted it to happen. And then I look back
at like what was going on in my life.
And I'm like, oh, you're really cute.
You know, that's funny that you thought that you could even handle that.
Or you could do that.
Or that you were ready for that.
Right?
Like sometimes we want things so bad, but we need to learn the things we need to learn.
So that when that happens to us, we're prepared for it, right?
So many times in my life, I feel like I've been sent back.
Sometimes I'm just like, fuck, what is the message here that I need to learn?
It's like I'm being hit over the head by a two by four.
I used to have a guru who was like, jeez, Gina, how many times you got to get hit over the head
with a two by four before you finally learn?
It was interesting.
There was a post,
if you follow me on Instagram, follow me on social media, that's where you can keep up with us.
I got a great social media team,
but I also post there myself.
It's time for today's podcast sponsor,
and this is a company that I can feel good about.
It's Bombas.
Did you know that socks are one of the most requested items
by organizations supporting people experiencing homelessness? Yeah, socks. The thing most of us take for granted every single day.
That's why I love Bombas. They make the most comfortable socks in the history of feet.
Seriously, once you wear them, you'll never go back. And for every pair you buy in Canada,
they donate a pair to someone who really needs it. Same goes for the insanely comfy underwear and tees,
which just so happen to be the most requested items
by shelters.
So far, Bombas has donated over 150 million clothing items.
That's not just doing good, that's doing real good.
But let's talk about how they feel.
Every sock, slipper, and tee is made
from the softest, dreamiest materials.
The underwear, effortless, the t-shirts,
they're gonna be your new fave,
and the socks, game changers.
Especially if you're working out, walking lots,
or just love a cozy vibe,
they even have compression socks
if you're into recovery mode, like me.
And the best part,
Bombus has 100% happiness guarantee,
meaning you can return, exchange anything,
anytime, no questions asked.
So if you want to feel good and do good at the same time, just go to bombus.ca slash
livi, use the code livi, L-I-V-Y at checkout for 20% off your first purchase.
Again that's bombus.ca slash livi and don't forget to use the livi discount.
There was a great, there was someone posted something about friendships yesterday.
And it was about how you're, if you're friends with someone for over seven years,
you're going to be there for life.
And I kind of got really triggered by that because I'm a very loyal person.
And I tend to hang on to things and people far beyond I should,
because I just, I just, I try to put myself in other people's shoes.
I try to understand where people are coming from and the universe is just saying,
Hey, like this is, this is not working out. I mean,
so many times I don't want to say got burned,
but the situation didn't turn out the way that I wanted to,
even though I just tried to hang on so long.
And I think sometimes we try to hang on to things and not let them go, especially
friendships. And one of the best things ever happened to me was the end of my best friends
and mine relationship. We had been friends for 20 years. It was the best thing to ever
happen to me. And so, you know, I think things when we perceive them as bad things in the
moment, I'm not one of those everything happens for a reason because there are some shit things that happen sometimes
and there's just like, there's nothing good that can come out of that, right?
But yeah, I think these are kind of learning opportunities.
So what do you need to learn, Pam?
Why do you need to learn?
What do you need to learn every time you get set back?
And to me, that's exciting. I'm like, bring it on. I know where I want to go. And so what's
happening is when you make a plan for where you want to go, the universe is going to be
like universe, God, whatever, you know, whatever your jam is, is saying, all right, I see you.
You want this? Okay. But guess what? You're not ready for it. So let me throw everything at
you that is going to be that that will prepare you for you reaching that goal, getting that
thing right being where you want to be. And so that's the thing about weight loss. So
many of you on top of your weight loss goal is when I lose weight, I'm gonna quit my job.
When I lose weight, I'm going to travel. When I lose weight, I'm going to date. When I lose weight, I'm going to start my own business. When I'm going to lose weight, I'm going to quit my job. When I lose weight, I'm going to travel. When I lose weight, I'm going to date. When I lose weight, I'm going to start my own business. When I'm going
to lose weight, I'm going to do this. When I lose weight, I'm going to do that. So you not only have
a goal of losing weight, you have all of this stuff piled on top of that goal. And so guess what's
happening? Life is throwing at you everything that you need in order for you to not just achieve your
weight loss goal, but all the other things.
Right?
And let's say you've been carrying that extra weight for whatever reason, you have not been
dating and you're like, okay, when I lose, you know, 20, 40 pounds, I'm feeling more
comfortable in my body.
Maybe I'm going to start dieting.
Okay.
Well, let me tell you, it's not just your body holding you back.
Chances are, chances are it's not your body holding back. So if you're working
through some really deep mental stuff while you are losing weight because when
you lose your weight you're gonna want to start dating again guess what? You're
probably gonna have to work through some pretty deep shit right? So yeah so what
is it? What is it? What is it? Sweating my ass off by getting my 5k walk-in while listening.
Hi Kim, you go Kim!
You get that walk-in. You get that walk-in.
Looking forward to hearing Ruth's results tomorrow.
Sad it will be the last live though.
Yeah, well I know. I used to get sad too.
I've refused because you're either leaving because you've been successful,
you're moving on to maintenance, you're going to join us in the summer club, or we'll see you again in
the fall.
The conversation is going to keep going.
But with that said, I know what you're saying.
Sometimes people miss the routine.
And so try to keep up your routine in the summer.
Maybe it looks a little different.
Maybe rather than listening to this live, you find another podcast to listen to, or
you listen to old guest segments.
That's always a great idea.
Or you go for a walk.
If you used to sit down with a cup of tea and watch the lives, now grab a water bottle,
go for a walk, right?
Keep going with those intentions and end of day reflections.
If you posted them in the group here, you buy yourself a nice little journal, right?
Keep that routine going. This is where if you keep the
routine going and you know, you have like bites of bits and parties and drinks and stuff
like late nights and stuff like that happening, this will keep you on. I hate that word. I
hate the term on plan off plan, but I just I haven't found anything that's kind of just
kind of fits. That will keep you going. Good morning. When do we lose access to all of
the past lives?
Hoping to catch up a few we missed.
So Facebook now works that after a live,
like this live will be around for a month.
All of our guest expert lives,
you'll find that we double post them and link them again,
and we actually link them to the link
that's in the app itself.
So this wasn't, Facebook used to keep the lives forever and now I don't know what
it's doing.
I think it's making space for AI, who knows.
So it's deleting all the lives older than a month.
And so you'll be able to watch this a month from now and that will disappear.
But all of our guest expert ones, we have re-linked from our YouTube account.
So you'll be able to watch all of the guest experts in fact the team
I think it's tomorrow the team is gonna put out a list for you. Let me see what they have planned for tomorrow
Let me see what they have planned for tomorrow
Scheduled post I think tomorrow
Guest experts yes guest, guest experts segment list.
So they are going to list all of, oh, they have them all.
They literally broke them down.
Our team is so good.
Look at this.
They broke down every guest segment from all the way
from prep week, week one, week two, week three, week four,
all the, oh, obviously I can keep going.
You get it, you get it.
So all of the podcasts, all the podcasts are linked here for you.
So you can go back and review those.
Go back and review those.
Bah bah bah. Are you and Tony doing this Sunday live this round too with results? No, we are not.
We'll find another time to go through the results of the survey.
Please, please, please, please, please fill out the survey. Tell us what you like, what you didn't like,
what you want changed, what you would like to see
added. We want to hear from you, especially as we are developing
our new app. I know you guys want supplements, body
measurements, period trackers, all of that, all of that, no
doubt is coming. Let us know about the program, how we can
make it better for you. And especially if you didn't
follow, and you're just catching this live and you're like, I
hate your fucking program, Gina, it sucks. Please tell me why. Please tell me why. Because even if you hated it, and you're just catching this live and you're like, I hate your fucking program, Gina, it sucks. Please tell me why, please tell me why.
Because even if you hated it and you think it sucks,
I wanna know why because I want you to be successful
and I wanna figure out how to best help you.
So please fill that out.
But no, I'm actually getting,
I've been putting off periodontal surgery for a year.
I did one side, I need to do the other side
and I put it off because obviously I talk for a year. I did one side, I need to do the other side, and I put it off because
obviously I talk for a living and I need to get it done. I need to get it done.
And so this Sunday was the only spot, sorry, Thursday was the only spot because
as you know I am going away for my honeymoon and it takes a while for you
to recover and to be able to eat foods properly. And I'm going to Spain and Paris for my honeymoon finally, and I want to be able to eat and enjoy.
And so literally, that was the only time that I could get.
So I could get it done, recover, and take off for my honeymoon.
So I will not be going live on the Sunday.
I love that segment, but unfortunately, I will not be able to do that.
So tomorrow
will be my last live. I find the summer hard to lose weight with the amounts of water and
socializing. I've been struggling. At least I'm not up more than three pounds, but losing
has been a challenge. So understand that you can be losing and your weight up at the same
time, right? Like in this heat, no one is gonna see the scale down in this heat because it's just in,
if you're inside, it's dehydrating
because it's air conditioning.
Outside, it's super hot, your body's reacting.
It can take your body time to calm down from that.
But don't let that stop you because your weight can be up
and also down at the same time.
The summer is a great time to lose weight.
So if you're struggling, why are you
struggling, right? So if it's the amount of socializing and you're not happy, socialize
differently, right? Bring your own foods to barbecues and events or at least something
that you can eat. Maybe change the drinks that you're drinking. Some are definitely
better than others. Watch the mixes that you're using in your drinks.
Like what can you do to make small little changes
that can stop you from being set back, right?
But then also if like you wanna enjoy the summer
and summer is like short, maybe you might just have to say,
I'm gonna like maintaining my weight right now is amazing.
I worked really hard, put a big push
into spending 91 days losing. Now it it's the summer I'm gonna look to
maintain right and then hit it hard in the fall like that's that's living and
that there's such a benefit anytime spent solidifying your weight meaning
allowing your body time to adjust at your weight on a plateau or a self-implosed plateau.
That's like gold. That's magic, you know.
Let me scroll down.
I signed up for the fall program.
I also signed up for the maintenance program to take advantage of having it
accessible endlessly. Should I activate both programs now?
So our maintenance program is ending on Sunday just like this and then the
the maintenance group will be on hold until September 8th and the start of our
next maintenance program. So everyone in the maintenance program also joining the
summer club as well because the summer club is where we are shifting the team
into. They're gonna be there to answer questions and whatnot. So what you can absolutely so if you're wondering what Cheryl's talking about here.
So right now the way our maintenance program is run and it originally started as a maintenance
group it was pay one price and get in as we developed the maintenance program which has
been based off of one doing another round of the program but for maintenance been based off of one, doing another round of the program, but for
maintenance and two, off of the research from Ruth.
So she's added in sort of pillars of success and maintenance and everything that we've
learned about maintenance.
And so now we have a specific maintenance program.
It's really interesting.
We actually, I talked to Robin Hahn yesterday, who is a member for Real People, Real Journey,
and she's been in maintenance and she talks about the maintenance programs
if you're interested in that.
And then today, Odette, who runs the maintenance program,
is gonna join us for our Tweek This Week conversation.
So now it's a full-blown maintenance program
that we run three times a year.
And so right now, anyone in the maintenance group
can do the maintenance program as often as they need.
Now, we are also working on an app.
We're gonna have a new app
ready for January and for the spring I believe we're going to be able to have an app that goes
along with the maintenance program as well. So obviously the the fee structure of that is going
to change. People will pay program to program. We're also working on a subscription service as well
for the living method
so people can buy in at a lower cost and pay a monthly fee rather than upfront. But they'll be
able to also be able to cancel. People won't have to sign up for a year. Right now people are able to
pay an installment so that's what's new as well. So sometimes people can't come up with the money
upfront so they're going to be able to pay installment. So that's how it works. If you buy the maintenance program
now for $75, then you're in there and you will not have to keep paying over and over
and over to do the maintenance program. That is going to change. I don't have a timeline
for that. Yeah. So that's how that's working. I know it's a bad business model. Pay one
price and you're in there. I know it's a bad business model. At the time, all we cared about is that people were maintaining and sustaining their weight
because everyone can lose weight through some shitty crappy diet.
I want to prove that you can lose weight and come out healthier on the other side, physically,
mentally, and you're able to maintain and sustain your weight.
So that's why we did that, but that's going to be evolving.
Should you be joining it now? So I think there is a benefit in listening in to some of the
conversations that we have in maintenance, because it's kind of like, you're going to
understand the conversations that we have in maintenance. Maintenance is like this whole
other can of worms. It's really fascinating. It's some of my favorite conversations,
no disrespect to the weight loss program,
are had in the maintenance program.
Because you think, oh, I've arrived, I've reached my goal,
I've done it in a healthy way.
But some people don't feel worthy of that.
Some people are they don't trust themselves.
You know, it's just there's so many interesting conversations.
Who are you now, this person, that you've gone and reached this goal that you've been trying
to reach what feels like your entire life and now you're there, now what?
It's really interesting.
So I think for that reason, it can be a benefit to be in the maintenance group and listen
into some of the conversations or to see what maintenance is all about.
But you don't have to.
You don't have to.
Can I ask about maintenance program?
How long is the program and is a one-time cost?
It is as it stands right now, it's a one-time cost.
It is 91 days.
So the structure is very similar to the weight loss program,
but the intention is all about maintenance
and the conversation is completely different.
How people used to solidify their weight back in the day.
So there's lose your weight. Once you reach your goal, you want to actively solidify your weight. What
does that mean? Help your body make your new weight, your new set point. And so even though
you don't need to lose weight anymore, there's probably still work mentally that you can
do. You can still work to get even more in tune to your body. You can still work to help
increase your metabolism as much as possible. Studies are
now showing that it takes two years after weight loss to help your body, like help your, that takes
two years for your body to adjust to a new set point. But what's happening in the maintenance
program, we're not just sitting around. It's like you can lose weight eating in a healthy way,
and that's going to take you forever. And that's why there's a method to the Libby method.
There's a systematic process that we go through week to week to week that not just helps physically
but mentally.
So you're fast tracking the whole process.
One to two pounds a week is like that's the average but you can get people who lose 30,
60 pounds in a program.
Why?
Because of the systematic nature of the program.
And so when it comes to the maintenance program,
it's the same thing.
Now you're actively working on solidifying your weight.
You're not just sitting there.
And so you're fast tracking that process.
So it is $75.
It's buy in now and you're in that group
for as long as you need.
So that's how that works.
Do do do. I had to break up with someone and she is here at the trailer park, and you're in that group for as long as you need. So that's how that works.
I had to break up with someone and she is here at the trailer park, but I continue to wave at her,
but she turns her head.
Oh, well.
Yeah.
Oh, well.
Sometimes people just can't.
So this is like, this is like, so you've gone and made change,
right?
You now know or you're getting to know or you will be able
to trust when to eat, what to eat, how much to eat. That's knowing what works for you, what doesn't work for
you. That's being very into what you might not know is like, you know, that meme that
says drinking so much water, you won't have time for anybody else's drama or bullshit.
It's kind of like when you're constantly focused on yourself, that's not obsessive. It's how
you should be. you are responsible for yourself
You are the one who needs to take care of yourself
You're the one who needs to make the decisions that work for you and in order to do that
You need to understand you you need to be in tune with you
And so keeping your energy directed at yourself you get in the habit of that
And so you get to start to very clearly know what works for you. What doesn't work for you?
That's not just food choices. That is also And so you get to start to very clearly know what works for you, what doesn't work for you.
That's not just food choices.
That is also situations.
That is also people in your life.
You start to recognize that you deserve better, that maybe someone in your life is just not
serving you anymore.
And I don't mean that like people are there to serve you.
That's not how I mean.
They're not filling your cup.
I believe people come and go in your life and that is just how it should be. And relationships change
because people change. So my issue with my friend was that I was changing. They kept
speaking to me like I was this hot mess girl who has gone through this divorce and couldn't
pay her rent because I was really honest with what I was going through and
Felt really lost and god. I was a hot mess mom barely keeping my shit together. I had four though, you know
And she kept talking to me like I like I was this I like I was that person still and I had made so
Much change in my life and I actually said to them, you know, listen
Can we talk because I'm I'm not that person anymore. I actually said to them, you know, listen, can we talk
because I'm, I'm not that person anymore. I need you to see me for who I am now. I worked
really hard to make change in my life and they just couldn't, they just couldn't do
it. And I was like, it got to a point where I just no longer wanted to pick up the phone
when they called. I didn't want to go hang out anymore, but I hung on to that friendship
because it's my best friend and longest friend and
you know, I was trying to make it work and
You know then a situation happened and thank goodness it did and it was a complete misunderstanding and a simple conversation
Would have fixed it, but I didn't try to fix it
She like freaked out on me and she's like you you're dead to me. And I felt relief.
I was like, wow.
Part of me wishes I could have still had a conversation
and cleared the air.
But I resisted that because I just was like,
this is good for me.
It's very sad and hurtful, right?
Because you miss people.
You might miss the good parts of that friendship
that you had right, but but recognize
You don't need to wave you don't need to wave
You know what I mean?
You might want to because you feel certain ways or miss something or you know trying to make it right or trying to show
You're a good person you've changed
And so the reason why I'm talking about this is like you're gonna go out there and you're gonna recognize
When you're in these situations and around people maybe you haven't seen people in a while in the summer and you're hanging out, you've actually really changed who
you are. And so be prepared for that and really honor that honor that that's kind of a reflection.
You know, you people are a good reflection of the work that you've done and the change that you've
made. You know, and it's not until you sort of see that that you're like, oh, what's going on
here?
And you're like, yeah, I changed.
I just changed my pant size.
I've actually worked really hard.
I have more confidence, more self-esteem.
I'm more self-assured.
I'm more self-aware.
I'm more solid and more grounded.
I'm feeling more connected.
I'm more spiritual. more grounded. I'm feeling more connected. I'm you know, more spiritual
I'm you know what I mean? Like you actually have made a lot of change here
Far beyond far beyond the scale far beyond the scale
Yeah, you're dead to me is such a harsh statement so so it was very harsh
But think about what I just said to you about how I hold on to
things.
So, I just, I make things work.
That's what I did.
I was in a marriage for 20 years where I wasn't happy.
I made it work, right?
I just, I hold on.
I make things work because that's what I do.
I problem solve.
I ask my mom.
My mom, my mom will be like, Gina, are you doing that thing again?
And what does the universe do?
The universe keeps hitting me over the head
time and time again.
And for me, it would have taken something really big
for me to let go.
It had to be something really big.
So you're dead to me from your best friend
over a situation she wasn't even there for.
This was something that was hearsay and a simple conversation would have worked it out.
It was something that happened that you should look back and laugh over.
But she was going through a very hard time in her life and that was her reaction.
And it had to be that big for me to be like, whoa.
Okay.
Okay.
And so that's that equal and opposite reaction, right?
The universe is like,
Gina, we are done hitting you over the head.
We are gonna knock your ass out with this one, right?
It was just kind of like, let's go girl.
That is the moment everything changed.
Because for me, that friend was the friend that was like, why are you doing this?
Why are you doing that?
Constantly in my ear, trying to tell me this, trying to tell me that, trying to do life
for me because she felt like I couldn't do life for myself because she wasn't recognizing
that, yes, there was a moment in my life when I struggled, but I have changed.
I have changed.
I don't need you telling me what to do.
Let me be me.
Yeah.
And so that friendship, there were also friends tied into that friendship.
I lost my whole friend circle because the friends that were friends with her and me were like,
we want to be friends with her because their friendship was also tied into their work.
And so I lost my whole friend circle.
Best fucking thing to ever happen to me.
I dove into work.
I opened myself up to other relationships and friendships and I was like, oh my God, there
are women out here owning their lives and having real conversations and not trying to
fix each other, just accepting people
for who they are.
And wow, changed my whole life trajectory.
So I'm very grateful for that to have happened in my life.
One of the hardest things that I've ever been through.
So it took that.
It took that.
So if something big happens to you, that's like, you know, I always believe it's
the universe working for you, not against you. So you're calling it on, you are calling for change
here with the living. I know this seems maybe crazy because it's just weight loss. You're probably
like, I thought I was just here to lose weight. You are calling upon change. One of the most
profound things someone ever said to me was,
we are in the pursuit of change here,
and we're gonna notice change along the way.
And things are going to change
in ways that we never expect.
And man, is that over to, is that over to,
I gotta go, thanks everyone for joining me today.
Thanks for, you know, coming to my Ted talk.
