I'm Gina Livi and welcome to the Livi Method Podcast.
This is where you'll have access to all of the live streams from my 91 Day Weight Loss
program.
With a combination of daily lives, guest expert interviews, and member stories, there is something
new almost every day.
Miss the Morning Live?
Want to relisten to one of our amazing guest experts?
Well, this is the place.
This podcast is hosted on Acast,
but it's available on all podcast platforms,
including the one you're listening to right now,
Spotify, Apple, and Amazon Music.
Day 87 of the program, just jumping on.
I was just chatting with Laura.
Hi, Laura.
And my DMs on Instagram.
If you're not following us over on social media,
it's a great way to stay connected in between groups.
We do post quite a bit of content over there.
Tips, I do live every now and then.
It's just a great way to not just stay connected to what's going on in the program, but also
with our community as well.
Laura is down 11.5 pounds and feeling fantastic. So
happy to hear about that. Okay, so it is, what day is it? It's Wednesday. We are midway
through the last week of the program. Join Kim and I today at 12 p.m. for our tweak this
week. We're going to be talking to Odette who runs our maintenance program and everything
that you need to know
about maintenance.
So that's going to be a great conversation for anyone who's ready for that conversation.
We also want to make sure you're super confident about next steps in between groups.
Bridge the gap.
You're going to be fine.
You're going to do great.
There's no reason why you can't continue to get and keep that scale moving, especially
with personalized in the plan.
So you're just going to test it out,
personalize the plan in between groups, and you're going to do a
complete reset with the spring summer program, a whole new
body, whole new mentality, everything that you've learned,
everything that you've unpacked and worked through as you hit
the ground running. So prep week is a week for our new members to kind of just
read the information, take their time, get what they need, start making changes. If you're
going to be a returning member, if it's your second program or your 25th program, you're
going to hit the ground running on day one of the program. Show up, maximize, keep the
party going. Keep the party going. I failed starting again in April.
You didn't fail.
You didn't fail.
Anything that you learned from signing up,
even if you signed up and you were unable to do it
for whatever reason, take a look at that and be like,
okay, why, what was going on there?
What was going on in my life?
Why was it difficult for me?
Why do, what part of it did I fail? Like you're still here now, you're showing up,
you're watching, you're listening.
To me, that's not a fail.
It means you haven't given up on yourself.
Life can make things incredibly difficult.
Our past and our history of dieting
can make things incredibly difficult for some people.
Their health issues can make things incredibly difficult.
It can be so incredibly difficult for so many reasons.
You're gonna get there.
There's no reason why you can't reach your goal.
It's just a matter of continuing to show up.
So if you showed up today, that's a win.
And doing another round of the program is also not a fail.
Like the way we structure our program
is in 91-day digestible chunks of time.
So you can start, you can go through the middle,
the messy, the magical middle, and then you
can end, and you can grab that feeling of accomplishment at the end.
You're also able to look back at your journey and be like, okay, I want to continue.
What can I do to better set myself up for success?
We had a great conversation with the ladies, Dr. Alinka, Dr. Beverly and Dr. Dina yesterday.
If you haven't had an opportunity to watch or listen,
I highly suggest you do this, something we talk about.
So the living method, you keep doing,
just like any other diet, till you reach your goal.
The fabulous thing about it is
we do have a whole maintenance program
for you to transition to.
So it's not like you just lose your weight
and you go back to old habits.
So step one of the living method is lose your weight.
Step two is maintain your weight.
So that's solidifying your weight,
also solidifying your mindset,
learning to trust yourself, feeling worthy,
understanding what living a life in maintenance
looks like and feels like.
And then the third stage is to get to a place
where you live your life.
You're no longer following a program or a plan,
you are just living with the tools and the skills
that you acquired, understanding
with awareness and knowing, knowing, you know, when to eat, what to eat and how much to eat,
you know.
Hi, Dave Stewart, back after an emergency trip up north to check on the cottage, all
good and ready to finish strong.
Oh my goodness.
We're in like 55 different countries, but where we are locally, we just had this massive
three-day ice storm go through.
My mom came up to visit me yesterday.
She lives in Lakefield.
She just still didn't have power.
She said that they were told they're getting it back tonight.
Some people aren't getting their power back until like the fourth or the fifth, I heard.
So it destroyed a lot of trees on the property and yeah, made a big mess of
everything for sure.
Gina, you four ladies are a powerhouse. Love yesterday's conversation. Oh, you guys are
so kind. Honestly, I can't. I just feel so honored to be in their presence. You know,
I stay in my lane when it comes to weight loss. I guess I'm really good at knowing what people need to do.
Yes, I've created this algorithm that works really well.
And yes, I have the heart and passion.
But what I love about all of them is they truly are so passionate about helping us,
helping our members.
We don't pay our guests, just so you know, we don't pay our guests.
Obviously they'll benefit from people wanting to book appointments and stuff, but they were
already hugely successful before the program.
And they're just so lovely behind the scenes, just good people.
I just love that our whole program, our whole community is just, it's a feel good type
of thing.
And it's a place when you're not feeling good, you can go and feel supported.
So thank you.
It's very, very kind.
I do my best.
I do my best.
Um, yay, crack 200.
I'm in wonderland.
Two programs, 34 plus pounds.
Oh, that's great.
That's a good feeling.
That's, you know, probably bounce back up and make you crazy.
But you did it.
You did it.
That's not an easy thing, man, to
hit those milestone numbers and then you're just like, do, do, do, do, do, when's it gonna
happen? And it finally happens. Congratulations. That's amazing. I love that for you. Hi, Susan.
Good morning. Actually catching a live. Hi, I'm a bit messed up in timing as I flee from
Toronto to BC last night with my son, thankful to have gotten out in
between ice storms. Yeah, I got ahead to Hamilton today. So I'm going to be, I'm not going to
be going live tomorrow, but I'm going to be on CHCH, the morning show, which is so super
fun. It's kind of a throwback for me because I worked on breakfast television, which is
a huge morning show here in Toronto for like five years of my life. Early on, I volunteered.
Those of you who listened to my Chatter That Matters
conversation podcast that I was recently on,
and then I got a job kind of working in front of the scenes,
and then I was a floor director wearing a headset
just like this and directing people on where to go.
It's like, oh gosh, it's such a great time of my life.
And then I moved on to host my own show,
and then I moved on from on to host my own show.
And then I moved on from that to create my own show that I did for like 10 years.
So that's why I love like just I love throw a camera in my face and I'm great.
Like like just in person, I'm it's hard for me to leave the house.
But you get a camera on me.
I don't know.
Everything all of a sudden feels calm. So I'm
looking forward to sharing the Living Method. That's what it's about. We have this fabulous
program. It's not, it's far from perfect. It works really, really well. Our intention is
wholehearted. And you know, next, our next program is going to be our 25th program.
Personally, I've been helping people lose weight for over 30 years, but I feel like finally we have a great product
that we know that works, that there's research and science behind, and it's
time to tell the world about it. So if you know anyone, please share the
ads that you see, share any of our social media, share the website. If you
have anyone who's got questions, they could just reach out to customer service. So I'm looking forward to that. I got the CH Morning
show ready to record so I can catch it. So excited for you. Oh, thanks. I'm like, what am I going to
wear? What am I going to wear? So yeah, my point is I'm heading down there today, but I just checked
the weather and there's supposed to be some freezing rain and whatnot. We are rolling into spring.
I want to talk about how we're going to be rolling into spring.
It's already spring technically.
Great time to lose weight, really, really great time to lose weight.
The days are getting longer, which is great because you have more time to be more active.
You can push your dinner back and eat a little bit later.
Your body is giving you this energy that you didn't have in the wintertime because in the
wintertime it keeps you like on hibernation mode.
The darker days you'll notice you just want to hibernate and just kind of like there's
a reason for that.
There's a reason for that.
And even if you like like skiing or like snowmobiling or snowshoeing or any of the things that they
do in the wintertime, there's that feeling where you just are like, oh, I just got to cozy up. Your body loves that.
Your body between the temperatures and the drop in vitamin D in the shorter days get the message,
it's time to store fat. So your body naturally would be inclined to store fat over the winter
time. Now, of course, you've been doing the winter weight loss program, so you've been losing the weight. But when your body transitioned from winter into spring, it just looks at the extra as
fat that it doesn't need and looks to go and get rid of it.
So I mean, obviously, I'm oversimplifying.
Nobody put that anywhere.
People think I'm crazy.
Oversimplifying, but because you have been giving your body what it needs these past few months, your
body's been naturally increasing your metabolism.
You're going to notice you feel a lot more energetic.
You also in the winter time tend to crave those heavier, heartier foods, fatty meats,
warm soups and stews.
You're going to notice you start actually craving like salads, like lots of veggies.
As the weather gets warmer, you're going to start to feel like you need more fruit,
in which you want to bump up your fruit intake, decrease any of those heavier carbs.
So those transitions are key, and it's not about like, it's about being in tune in the moment,
but this spring is such a great time to lose weight.
It's a great time to lose weight.
Can you tell us what time you'll be on?
I don't even know anything about it. I
Was like today I should call probably call my team
Check on my team and see what time I'm supposed to be there at and if they happen to know what time if I find
Out I'll let you know
But I have no idea. Where can I get the livi lemon water you y'all I?
Love our community. I cannot. Some of you were literally
so yesterday was April Fool's. We try to do like I'm a good old fashioned fun kind of girl.
Right? Like I love good old fashioned fun. And so the team did that. Livi Lemon. Such a good idea.
Like legit. It's such a good idea. Like legit. It's such a good idea.
Livy Lemon Water.
I just don't know how you'd preserve it.
I don't know how you would do that.
And there's something to be said about fresh lemons and the enzymes.
Although you can use like lemon juice.
Some of you went searching on Amazon.
Sent your husband searching on Amazon.
I love that you were all ready to buy our Livi Lemonwater. Listen, I do want to get into
products one day, but right now I got my hands full with the program, Helping People Lose Weight,
but I've always been as sharing is caring. And it's always been weird to me when people try to covet
like cool shit. I love matching too. Like, I don't know, maybe it was like a PTSD from high school
where like you couldn't wear that if I have
it and I don't know.
You can't have what someone else has and I'm just like this is more than enough for everybody.
So I like matching.
Like me and my girlfriend, I love matching.
I'll go out matching with everybody.
I'll match with you.
I think that's fun as shit.
Anyway, where was I going with this?
So April Fool's Day.
And so the team made up this Livi Lemonwater.
If you haven't seen it, it's over on social media.
So this is why you got to follow us over there.
It's so fun.
You guys are so funny.
But a couple of years ago, we did a bus, a struggle bus.
The production team got a bus and a photo of it and put a massive billboard on it that said the struggle bus
and then did like a subway poster with like Gina wants you to be, Gina wants you to be a loser.
Man, it was like halfway through the day and there were something like 3000 comments
and nobody picked up on April Fool's and everyone thought it was such a great idea
and was so proud of us and so happy for us.
We didn't have the heart to tell anybody it was April fools. I mean we did later.
But then people are members. You guys started this thing where if you see the struggle bus
tag and post and share your photos. Oh man, truly we have the best community.
photos. Oh man, truly we have the best community. I wish I could buy the Livy Loser water bottle. You know, water bottles are so, so we came out with a collection of stuff a few years
ago. It was through a company that didn't, we thought we didn't, it was just like, it
was fine, but the shipping costs were ridiculous and people had to pay like $40 for a mug and
I just couldn't. I was like, I can't
sell $40 mugs, y'all. I can't. I can't sell $40 mugs. And so the shipping was astronomical
and I was just like, I can't in good conscious. And I know there's people that will pay and
it's great quality stuff, but the shipping was so astronomical. I was just like, this
is insane. And I just have this thing
about, I just, you guys know, I got money issues, right? And like, it's so weird. Like
sometimes I'll go like my program, it's like $99. And then I don't know, you buy a like
strawberries or 10 bucks, or someone, I don't know, like buys, like whatever. Sometimes
I see the prices of what's out there. I was just like, oh my God, what?
My whole program is three months and the support.
And then I look at what the price of other things are and I'm just like, how is this
even real life?
Anyway, so that's sort of what happened.
And then we created some fun stuff for the women's show, which was great.
And then I just want to do it right.
And I just want to do it right.
So water bottles
are so personal. That's the thing. Like I stood in front of a bunch of water bottles
and I'm just like, not everyone likes a Stanley. I like when they don't drip all over my car,
right? Like they don't pour everywhere. And so yeah, so we'll get there one day. We'll
get there one day. Hi, Linda, this is my first program
and today I'm 34 pounds down.
Wow, I had no expectation,
but this journey has been mind blowing and transformative.
I can't wait for the spring program
and continue digging deep into self discovery
and learning to love myself inside and out.
You get me, you get me, you get the program.
This is what it's about.
And if you're struggling, that's even more what it's about. And if you're struggling,
that's even more what it's about, right?
Like, what do I need?
Where am I at?
What do I need to do?
What can I do?
That's really what it's about.
Everyone just wants to be happy, as happy as possible.
Now we can't be happy, happy, joy, joy all the time,
but for the most part, try to have happy moments in our life.
A couple of years ago, Dr. Paul dropped this conversation we were having in the maintenance group.
And he's just like, are you happy?
I was like, what the fuck am I happy?
And it took, it really threw me for a loop.
I was like, am I happy?
Can I say, and it was like, I couldn't say I was happy.
I'm in love with my husband.
We have a happy marriage. I got some kids that had got some serious things going on
in their lives, but for the most part, it could be worse. I love my job. I got a great,
wonderful life, but I couldn't be like, why can't, what's wrong with me?
Why can't I say I'm happy?
And then this sparked a conversation with Tony of like, okay, what is happiness?
And are we meant to be?
What are we judging our happiness on?
Are we happy right now?
So yes, it sparked this whole thing.
But don't we just all, for lack of a better word, want to be happy and healthier and just
feel our best and live our best lives truly.
That's what this Libby Method is about.
It's about figuring out what you need to live your best life, to look your best, because
everyone likes to look their best, to feel your best, to confident and strong and self-assured
and self-aware and to try to, you know, not just have our best lives, but our
longest lives, right?
I appreciate your integrity and being mindful that everyone in a different place financially,
especially nowadays.
It's so hard, you know, because sometimes I see like I've been there, right?
I've been broke, struggling to pay my behind, got my car repossessed once and it wasn't
because I wasn't a good person and it wasn't because I wasn't a good person and it wasn't
because I wasn't working really hard. It was because something happened and I was unable
to, my husband got sick. I was at the time unable to work. Just everything we had planned
because he got sick fell apart and we lived somewhere a little bit remote so he needed
someone to take care of him. It was like it's a whole, my whole life fell apart.
And then I couldn't feed my kids and pay my rent and shit.
And so I always think about that.
I mean, I also want to aspire to how I want to have all the nice things.
I want to go all the places.
Maybe it'll happen.
Maybe it won't.
I'm happy with what I have.
I'm very content.
I know that I can be happy with nothing. That's one thing I've learned. I know I can be happy with nothing
because I've had nothing and I've found happiness and joy and peace in having nothing. And so
I know money doesn't make the world like money doesn't make you happy. That is one thing
I know for sure. It's one thing I actually learned when I was young. When I was younger,
my parents, they did well, but not like, well, well, they paid the bills. I think maybe they struggled
a bit. And I had friends that had wealthy parents and they were never happy. The parents
were never happy. They were never happy. There was always drama going on. For some reason,
I kind of related the two. Very much not motivated with my money, but also everyone is indifferent.
Like what? We can all get along in this group. That's what I love about
the program is everybody is welcome. Some people struggle financially, some people don't
have any problems at all. And I love that. I love that for people. I want to be someone
who has all the money in the world and then do good things with it. But yeah, I just think
it's about, I think when you learn to put your energy at yourself
and not out there in the world, and that's what you're doing with the living method.
You are directing your energy and keeping your energy at yourself.
You see that meme with you're drinking so much water that you don't have time for anybody
else's opinions or crap.
You're following the living method.
There's so much to do food-wise, water-wise, manage stress, sleep, things, whatever. You have no choice. And that following the living method. There's so much to do food wise, water wise,
manage stress, sleep, things, whatever. You have no choice. And that's part of it. You have no,
it needs to be all consuming. In order to make the change, it needs to be all consuming in a
healthy way, obviously, right? Because you got to eat. So why not eat healthy foods? You got to
sleep. So why not get better sleep? You got to live, so manage your stress. So like it's all obsessing about things that are good for you.
But it makes you kind of be really self-aware.
And so when you're done, what you'll realize is you're so in tune with yourself, you become
in tune with everything across the board.
And you know, I think that in having a better understanding of yourself, you can have a
better understanding of other people too.
I try to, I still have a lot to learn in that department,
but I really try to be understanding
or see things from a different perspective.
It's like this program.
So when I first started it, we'd have people come in
and they would like, you know, I don't like this,
I don't like that, I don't like you,
you do this, you do that,
or they'd be like pissed off or angry.
And I would just kick them out
because I'm like, I don't have time.
I'm doing my best, I'm not perfect, this is what you got. Like, if you don't like
it, you get what you get, you don't get upset. That's my new motto in life. You get what
you get, you don't get upset. And if you want to get something different, then do what you
need to do to get the different. And I used to, I used to, I would say kick them out,
but remove people. I had zero tolerance because it was because it's hard. It's hard for everybody. And no one needs someone to come in and be all pissy with their attitude. It affects
everyone. And I'm like, if it's not program related, we're not talking about it. We're all
here to do weight loss. We're not here for politics. We're not here for, I don't know,
whatever stuff we don't want to talk about. We do have to recognize that what is going on in the
world affects us. That is really important. We can't be like sheltered.
But I used to just kick people out.
And then what would happen is people would hit me up with a two-page email of why this
is the best program they've ever done.
Please don't kick them out.
And I would give them their money back.
I'd be like, here you go.
Here's your money back so you can find a program better suited to your needs.
There's still some I kicked out like five years ago that are raging out there online.
Every chance they get, they like to say how horrible I am and the program's the worst
and whatever because I kicked them out because they're an asshole.
Only remove people if you're an asshole.
I only got time for it.
Life is way too short.
I don't got time for it.
But what I realized then was that people would hit me up with a two page email and they're
like, please, please, please let me back in.
It's the only thing that's ever worked for me.
I love the program. And I'm like, then why are you such an asshole? And then I realized it's hard.
It's so hard to show up for yourself sometimes. It's frustrating. There's a lot going on in your
life. A lot of people don't love themselves for whatever reason. And it was a safe place for them to share that they felt ways.
And I'm still very mindful, but I do give people chances now. I will just say,
hey, just so you know. And then that's when I stopped saying, when I came to that realization,
I stopped saying that this was a positive safe space. Because I realized you don't always have
to be positive. And it's about understanding, right?
Hey, where's that coming from?
Or, hey, we're doing the best we can to help,
or hey, like, there's a nice way to say things, you know?
So let's take a minute out to hear
from our podcast sponsor today.
I mean, listen, we're always talking
about how important it is to take care of your skin.
Your skin is your body's largest organ.
We also talk about the importance of creating routines, especially a nighttime routine that
can help us sleep.
But this one here is for the new moms because Aveeno has a product for newborn babies.
Skin is the first line of defense and baby skin is about 30% thinner than our mature
skin making it even more important to take action to help strengthen
skin moisture barrier.
So using the power of oats as the hero ingredient, Aveeno Baby harnesses the power of oat to
help achieve skin hydration.
So if you're looking to learn more about how you can maintain and strengthen your baby's
skincare, head over to the website, aveeno.ca.
That's A-V-E-E-N-O.ca. Gas prices down in Ontario.
Yeah.
I'm so horrible.
Like I don't can't even remember the last time I filled my car.
I just don't even look.
Tony does it.
Thank goodness.
Tony does it.
No one's got time for that.
I know right?
No time, time or patience for bullies.
And so the diet industry has been a bully, right?
Like the diet industry has been a bully.
It's been really interesting, the evolution of the diet industry since I've been working
in it my entire life, but also just really since I've been publicly putting it out there.
Because I used to just do my clients and I had no problem getting clients. So once
my husband got better and then we got divorced because he turned it into a totally different
person, like actually his personality because of the medications and his heart and all of
that. And our marriage did not survive it. And so there I was trying to figure out what
am I going to do with my life? And this is where I realized, hey, this is what I love.
I can't go back into television because I had four kids that I had my ex-husband at
the time.
As you know, he passed away two years ago coming up in May.
And it stems from this incident where he got really sick.
And so he couldn't take care of the kids.
And so then I had to, and then I was like, what am I going to do?
What am I good at?
And so I looked at sort of weight loss as my waitressing job to my TV gigs because I'd
worked in television.
Am I going to go back to television?
And there's no way with four kids that I could host a show or do any of that because they're
sick all the fucking time. Kids are disgusting and sick all the time. No way with four kids that I could host a show or do any of that because they're sick
all the fucking time.
Kids are disgusting and sick all the time.
I had a kid home.
And so I was like, what can I do?
Well, and I was like, then I just doing this long story short, I realized that what I love
to do is help people make change in their lives.
What I love to do is help people lose weight.
So I was like, I'm going to do personal training and what am I going to do?
And so then I was like, I went to a friend of mine who owns a gym, a function studio
in Newmarket for anyone who knows.
And I was like, hey, like I got to figure something out.
They got to pay my rent, got to feed my kids.
This is what I'm good at.
Give me a chance.
And she's like, yeah, I don't know, weight loss, like we're a gym.
Anyway, she gave me a chance and it was great.
I loved working there.
I got to the point where it just wasn't the right environment and I needed more flexibility.
And so I took it all online and then I started seeing clients online and that's sort of where
it's grown from there.
Why am I talking about that?
I can't remember what I was talking about.
Anyway, since you lost 100 pounds prior to Libby, how did you do it?
So well, I didn't lose it prior to, so the public, that's what I was talking about.
I had been helping clients for 30 years using the similar method.
So what I would do with personal clients is I would be a little bit more personal.
But the algorithm was still the same.
It's all about the learning and the process and what your body needs to go and go through.
There's a lot of science behind it and a lot of trial and error and through understanding
what people needed in order to not just lose weight, but to show up in their lives and
make change.
And so that's how the program evolved.
The living method hasn't just been in the group format has been in existence for five years,
25 programs.
And calling it the living method is the name that was attached to it.
So I had been helping personal clients, for example.
And when I started my first program, I was very good at that.
But it was really since I started pumping it out publicly that I was talking about the
diet industry.
It was in a really weird space when I started people would send me DMs like I can't believe you're telling people to lose weight
I'm like, I'm not telling people to lose weight. I'm helping them lose weight
Nobody really understood what I was doing. So I got flak hate mail emails all the time
I'm the horrible as person on the world. I can't believe you're selling weight loss. And I'm just like, well, people want to lose weight.
I have a healthy way to do it.
Like, what's wrong with that?
They're coming around.
People are coming around.
But I sort of like how I lost my weight was at the time I was eating less, exercising
more.
That's pretty much how I gained my weight, high stress, lack of sleep.
And it wasn't until that environment changed where I really started to understand it eating less and exercising more was not
a, it wasn't helping me lose weight. How much less could I eat? How much more can I exercise?
And it just wasn't working for me. And my story is I went to my doctor, my doctor's
like you, you're eating too much. I'm like, I was eating maybe 500 calories. I know how
to fucking count. Maybe you need to exercise more. I was teaching two to three hardcore back in the day,
thong up your ass, aerobic classes, go till you barf type of exercise. No, can't be yet. Then he
said, you're big boned. And if you saw me now, you'd be like, you are not big boned. And after
university, I moved to the city. I worked in a gym there. I met my then ex-husband. He
met him at a bar, but he also went to school to be a chef. So he cooked. You go out, you date,
you start eating. I started eating more and noticed my weight was dropping. I was like,
what is happening? People would say to me, you're losing weight, what's going on? I'm like, I know, I don't know, I don't know,
I'm just, I'm eating and that made no sense.
And so it just sent me down this like spiral
of trying to figure out what was going on.
So this was way back before the internet
and where I could just Google what was going on.
No one was talking lifestyle, lifestyle wasn't a word.
I know this because I pitched a lifestyle show
to Moses Neimer and he was like, what is lifestyle?
No one cares about lifestyle, Gina.
Now I'm like, it was a brilliant idea.
No one was talking about, there was no insulin resistance.
There was no, no one's talking about your cortisol and your hunger hormones.
No one's talking anything like that.
People didn't even really fucking know what your body did with food when you ate it.
And so I was like, what does happen to our body when we eat food?
And if it's calories, surely what we are eating is important, not just the calorie of the
food.
And I researched, read a lot of journals, spent a lot of time in the library and wanted
to learn everything.
I went down a whole rabbit hole of like all organics and you know chemicals added preservatives and stuff and yeah that
plays a role but not as much as we thought I thought back then. And I worked with clients
and because I had lost weight, my client, my, because I worked at a gym, they're like
yeah I want you to help me lose weight. And so I just got really good at like, so I would sit people down, you know, the maximizing
post.
So there is the short version.
And then if you go into the files, there's an expanded version with like 150 questions.
And so that that came out of the what I used to do with clients.
So like, and you can do this with yourself.
You know, how old are you?
Do you have any health issues? You take any medications, right? So, and you can do this with yourself. You know, how old are you?
Do you have any health issues?
Do you take any medications?
Right, what's your current lifestyle?
Your stress on a scale of one to 10.
How often do you move your body?
What's your sleep like?
Right?
What's your day like?
Run me through a day.
What's your day?
Like, and I get a sense of who people are.
Then we would be like, okay,
I wouldn't even ask them what they eat.
And then I would be like, when did your issue with weight start? Was it as a kid? Was it here? What was happening in your life?
What were things that you tried? Tell me your diet history, really trying to get to understand.
And then I would come back to the food part, run me through a day. What are you eating? What do you whatever?
And then everyone started off in the same basic food plan, because then I could get a handle on what was going on with their body, because it was like very
balanced and there's a rhyme and a reason to it. And so this is where I dabbled, I'd
sort of dabbled in, you know, I've read a lot high, like low fat, low carbs, high fat,
high protein, carb cycling, fasting, like, you know, I've been around so long.
And it's just sort of like through learning and bits and pieces and understanding what
people need that I came up with a formula and a process.
So bear with me.
So I had a client that I was working with and this client signed up for or was in my
first trial weight loss program that I did for free.
My first one was free to see if it worked.
I knew I was really good with one-on-one clients.
Would it work with a group of people who had questions?
And so at the end, my friend and client sent me a message and he said, hey, do you know
this is what you're doing?
He's like, these first few weeks you do this and this is what you're doing? He's like, these first few weeks you
do this and this is what you talk about. Then you do this and this is what you talk about.
Then you do this. This is what you talk about. Then you do this. And he kind of gave them
names. And I was like, Oh shit. Yeah, I didn't realize he's like, there's a whole pattern
to it. There's a whole thing that you do. And I just did it. I didn't ever stop and be like, what do I name it? It was just a process that I did with my clients, which
was very effective. And so one day after three, four, five programs later, I said, hey, what
should we call this? I was on a live just like right now. Who the fuck am I going to
call this thing? Because at the time, no one could explain it. I couldn't explain it. People
couldn't explain it. We've gotten better at trying to explain it. Because
people try to explain it to their friends. They're like, how do I tell my friend? I don't
know what to say. People outside of it would try to be like, pick it apart. Well, you can't
just do this or that. Not understanding the whole process and how it all worked together.
It was a lot of educating people. And then we just did a poll one day. We're like, what the hell should we call it? And they're like, the
Livy Method stock. At first I was like, no way am I calling it the Livy Method. Absolutely
not. I could not imagine anything more egotistical than calling my program the Livy Method. And
then someone was like, you're Gina Livy. It's your method. Like, it just
makes sense. I was like, Ah, I don't know. Maybe it was Tony. I couldn't remember. I
was so opposed to calling it the Livy Method. And then one of our members was like, Yeah,
we're gonna call it the Livy Method. And we're gonna call ourselves Livy losers. And even
then I was like, What is going on? No, you're not. And then I thought about it for a second,
and I was like, I kind of like people just insisted,
and I love it.
And it's not, the Livvy is not about me,
and that's why I love our new campaign,
Live Lighter, Live Your Best Life,
like it's a whole thing, and it's about you.
And being a loser to me is about being successful
on the program, because we want to lose and
it's about taking our power back.
It's about, fuck you.
Yeah, I'm calling myself a loser.
I'm cool.
What are you going to do about it?
And it's like being okay with being a loser because I'm okay with who I am.
And I just, I had some weird French friends, friendships were never my jam really when
I was young. I always felt like I was the odd man out.
I worked a lot when my friends were partying.
I'd be one of those, well, we invited you.
I'm like, well, you didn't tell me where you were going.
So how am I supposed to know I was invited if you didn't fucking tell me where you were
going?
Because I'd be at work, right?
Just such shit like that where I just never really understood it.
And so I always felt like the odd man out and I always felt like a bit of a
loser. And I was like, I love it. Some of you have asked if we've switched out.
Like I, so, so when you, if you watch the dragon,
dragons den Simu Liu was like, when we came out, we're like,
we're all Libby losers. He's like, Oh, we got to change that name. No,
fuck you, Simo. We're not, I'm not changing it. Like that's, and then he,
he at the end, if you caught it,
he's like, we're the ones who are losers,
not trying to give us a deal.
And didn't understand it.
It's not for people who don't understand it.
It's for all the people watching and listening right now
who you know what it takes to lose your weight
in a healthy way, where you did the real work,
where you showed up and you did the real work.
So that's where it came from.
I'm not in high school anymore.
I don't care if you call me a loser.
Yeah, right?
Same.
Have at her.
So that's sort of, if you're wondering where the whole Libby loser thing came from, I absolutely
love the term.
I'm not trying to get rid of it at all.
I am cognizant that people who, I don't want people
to feel like they're not in on the joke either. Not that it's a joke. I don't, I'm very cognizant.
I become cognizant of new members who come in and they're like, what's the livy loser? Like they
don't feel part of the community yet. And so that is sort of I have become sensitive to not wanting people to feel like
they're already on the outside, you know, when they come in. So this is why I always
kind of explain it. But I love it. I think it's an endearing term. I'm not getting rid
of it. Our Live Lighter campaign is just about living. I wanted, we hired a marketing company
and I said to them, what are we selling? Yes, we're selling weight loss, but I want to sell people hope
that they can make change in their lives.
I don't know how the hell we sell hope.
That's what I want to sell.
I want to sell hope that they can make change,
hope that they can lose their weight and keep it off,
hope that they can be healthier at the end of the day,
hope that they can feel better.
I want to sell hope.
And we hired these two lovely ladies
who did the Dove campaign from a while back.
I don't know if you remember.
And they had this live lighter and I was like, tears.
I'm like, that's it.
And if we get our real members and have them be like,
oh, and if you've seen it, you've seen it.
So yeah, hi, Cam, good morning. You seen it, you've seen it. So yeah.
Hi, Kim.
Good morning.
You're late, but you're here.
Hi.
Love that.
It's reclaiming the word of creating positive vibe to being a loser.
That's exactly it.
Right.
It's reclaiming the word.
It's reclaiming the word.
Uh, I'm FaceTimeing a friend the other day while sipping from my certified
loser mug, she smiled and said, Gina, yeah, it's like we're getting out there, right? And I want the Livvy Method to be so
much bigger than me. And it is. I finally realized that when we were actually at the
shoot, when we were shooting this with our members, this Live Lighter campaign, and the
team was like, the Livvy Method has helped so and so many people and the Livvy Method.
And I said to my team, this feels weird.
I feel like I'm claiming credit for the program.
And they're like, and?
I said, I can't.
It feels weird.
And they're like, listen, it's not you.
It's this whole team of people here.
It's all of the program specialists and shift
supervisors and managers and everyone behind the scenes.
It's the members that create the community.
It's not just you anymore.
And that was like a ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding moment for me.
And then I was like, oh, you're right.
You could read the book and be successful.
You don't need to have me.
Yeah, okay.
I wrote the book, but still.
So I want the living method to be bigger than me.
I want to win some swag.
Okay, so make sure there's a couple of things you got to do.
Okay, you've got to please fill out the survey, please.
Even if you've already done it before, please fill it out.
I can't even tell you how helpful it is.
We literally want to know how can we make
the living method better, easier, clearer, more motivating,
like whatever it is.
How can we make it better?
Especially if you had a hard time, let us know.
Especially if you hated the program, let us know.
Fill out the survey.
Be honest.
I want to know what can we, I don't know why I'm doing this right now.
Why am I?
Oh, because I'm about to do this.
Like my arm is getting tired.
What am I doing? I want to
hear from you. Fill out the survey. Number two is fill out the celebrate and inspire
post for yourself. For yourself. Celebrate yourself. We will not take your photos and
plaster them all over billboards. Although if they're amazing, we'll ask. But we will
not do that. It's a safe place. You can celebrate yourself.
Number three, enter the giveaway.
Oh, also, enter the giveaway.
Where can you locate the survey?
Just ask the team and they'll pop it.
They'll send you a link, but it's in the guides.
It's in the guides, so you'll be able to find it.
We're also going to email it out too, but it's in the guide section from, I think, Monday,
two days ago Monday's life day

But I'm going to do that at some point for you.
This is this, you got to pick up this pink powder from Sephora.
It's called Candy Cloud Set.
I can't read it, who it's from, but this is so good.
And also if you're getting older, you can like rub it into your like lines and it just
honestly, it's just like a game changer.
You're going to ask me what that is. I'm going to find out right now.
I'm going to put on my little flashlight.
It is from KOSA. It's called Candy Cloud Set, it's pink.
It's the pink powder.
There's another one that's a loose powder,
but this is a pressed powder, get this,
especially if you're older.
And you can put on your regular foundation
or whatever you wanna use, and you just kinda put it here,
and it just, it really makes a big difference
on the wrinkles.

you start using the app, you start being all in with all that. I got to go. Thank you so much
for joining me. You're talking, you're moving your arm because you're
talking like a Montrealer. Very expressive with my, I don't know where I get it from.
It's so weird. But yes, people used to think I was Italian as well because my name was
Gina and I was like, well, but obviously I'm not. I got to go. I'm procrastinating. I'm
not going live tomorrow. I'm going to be going to CHCH if you want to watch.
Back on Friday, well, I'm not back.
I'm still going to be, I'm going on a show called Savvy Seniors on Friday, which is going
to be so fun.
But I'll be back on Friday from wherever I'm staying and that'll be the last live.
But Tony and I actually are going to go live on Sunday and we're going to share the results
of the survey.
So if you want to fill them out, take part in that.
That's always fun.
Have a great day, everyone.
My goodness.
Make sure you watch the conversation from Dr. Beverly,
Dr. Dina, Dr. Alinka.
Today at 12, I guess I'll be back today at 12 with Kim.
Talk about next steps if you want to join us for them.
Couple things I will say before I go.
The app, if you sign up for the spring program
or you're rolling into maintenance,
you can continue to use the app in general tracking mode in between groups.
So once you finish the 91 days and then the next day you wake up, you'll be able to just
use it as a general tracker.
For those of you in maintenance, we don't have a maintenance app yet, but you'll be
able to use it in general tracker.
You'll have access after we've done on Sunday answering your questions and posting and whatnot.
You can still have access to the group if you were in the Facebook support
group, so you can still watch anything, listen to anything like that.
The AI in the app stops working, so you won't have access to that.
Obviously, we won't be there to answer any questions, but you'll still have
the daily check-ins, guest segments and whatnot will all be there for you.
So have a super fantastic rest of your day, everyone, and I will see be there for you. So have a super fantastic rest
of your day everyone and I will see you later. Bye!
