I'm Gina Livy, and welcome to the Livy Method podcast.
This is where you'll have access to all of the live streams for my 91-day weight loss program.
With a combination of daily lives, guest expert interviews, and member stories, there is something new almost every day.
Miss the morning live?
Want to re-listen to one of our amazing guest experts?
Well, this is the place.
This podcast is hosted on ACAST, but it's available on all podcast platforms, including the one you're listening to right now,
Spotify, Apple, and Amazon music.
It's your maintenance midweek motivation.
Some of my favorite conversations are taking place here.
Wake up, look good, feel good, no matter what life throws out you.
You've got this.
Hi.
I missed that intro.
Can we start with the celebrations that you sent me?
Yes.
Hi, Odette.
Hello.
Hi.
of course we can't finish a group without doing that it's probably out of order but i was reading
them and i think we should just start with these because they're so great what a whole vibe we've
started these conversations with you know some big stuff in the past it's been a real
three months of like hardcore reflection deep conversation getting serious i'm sure we had
a lot of aha moments myself included it's been a lot it's been a lot yeah it's been a lot it's been a lot
And, you know, the amount of time that we spend in these groups, and I know we've said it before, but we really get to know where our members are at and what they're saying and how they're saying it. And I think, you know, you see the names from 91 days ago and you see them now. And you can see how, excuse me, what they're saying is evolving and how their feeling is evolving. And not only what they're, not only like what they're doing, but how they're doing it, how their thought process is shifting.
how their mindset is shifting.
You think in prep week, we're talking about mindset shift.
Everyone's like, what does that mean?
What do you mean?
And then it just happens.
It just happens for them.
Because when you just show up and you do the work,
when you leave yourself open to learning, to growing, to evolving,
it's amazing, like how much you can truly change without even recognizing that you're making
change.
Like it doesn't have to always seem like work or a meditation or, you know, constantly
writing in your journal. Like, I mean, however you choose to reflect, but it's just, it's life.
We grow and we learn and we evolve and we change through life. And this is just with more
intention. Mm-hmm. Yeah. All right. More intention and more awareness. I think that's,
that's a big thing. Big. Can we just get into these celebrations already? Because I want to read
these. Go ahead. One in particular that I want to read. Here's Judy. Six pound difference from highs to
lows and I've now maintained that range since October 24, been on three cruises and celebrated
my birthdays and holidays. I feel like my body knows what's happening and has very much adjusted.
Yeah. And you know, 91 days ago, it might have been like, what's going on with these fluctuations?
Why am I up? Why am I down? What do you mean? What's my pattern? What do you mean how am I connecting the dots?
What do you mean my everything is just going to start to click? And it's just happening. I know.
is amazing. And just these, like, these are these first. I've been through three cruises. I've
had birthdays. I've had holidays. It's going through all of these firsts that are going to help
you build that confidence, build that trust, you know, you're going to learn so much as you go. And I
love, I did love this one for Judy. And if you've done this for a year, you can do it for every year
for the rest of your life. And that's the thing that's going to take away in the theme for all of
these is understanding the the fluctuations of life that are usually reflected.
in fluctuations on the scale. It's just a tool to help you recognize, oh, yeah, have I been
indulging a lot? Yeah. Is it affecting how I feel physically? Uh-huh. It is. Oh, yeah, I'm really
stressed out. I haven't been sleeping a lot lately. Is it affecting how I feel? Uh-huh. Yeah,
it is. Here's dot. I have managed now for a year going up a few pounds, then down a few.
I'm in about a five-pound range. I've dipped lower, then come back up, but I have maintained a loss
45 pounds. That's it. It's not even the butt. The the the the few pounds up,
few pounds down like that range, that five pound range. Some people are more three to seven.
Some people are a 10 pound range. I'm like a 10 pound range person myself. Always kind of
have been. And then with the stress and the change of my life, I've been kind of floating on
the high, high higher end. And now I'm sort of back more in the in the middle range. But that that's how
that is right um i've maintained a loss of 45 pounds keep doing that and it will become less and less
work as you go you might be like oh my god well i had to work really hard at this the whole thing is
that it will become second nature just part of who you are right it gets easier as you go what i love
about these celebrations too is this language that's being used you know like i've maintained a loss of
45 pounds it's not like oh i gain five pounds and then i lose five pounds no i just go up and down
scale just goes up and down like that's that that language should we say so much language matters and
words matter and i think we're seeing that transition happening with our members they're understanding
that that language matters there they are accepting and acknowledging that this is what's happening
it's this range it's this up and down it's not this gaining five losing five gaining five losing five
i think this is i love that's what i love about this this yes i've maintained a 45 pound wheat loss
yes and i have a range it's insanely amazing here's what i'm
from Michelle. I was doing very well at maintaining within my three pound range until all this
Christmas prep has started. Before baking all, before my baking all goes in the freezer, I can't
resist a square cookie or two. Well, you shouldn't have to resist. But I am aware, and these core
principles are giving me a new resolve to indulge mindfully, not mindlessly. I mean, that is so
important like enjoy the fruits of your labor enjoy your baked goods now if you do find the
scale is going up try to have those you know bites of bits earlier in the day rather than late
at night where it's going to mess with your sleep but also is your weight going up from these
few bites of bits or is it going up because probably this is a busy and stressful time of
year maybe you're staying up late baking maybe you're baking on top of all the other things you
normally do right sometimes we look at it as these foods are causing our weight to go off
and not really taking into account the other reasons why our weight might be going up.
And chances are you having, enjoying some of your cookies or your baked goods, that's not going to
cause you to gain real weight at the end of the day. So absolutely, what is your intention
and how do you want to feel this holiday season? You don't want to be stressing. You want to be baking
all this stuff and then not enjoying it. But then you don't want to enjoy it and then stress about it
either. So this is an opportunity to be like, how do I want the holidays to look and feel? Yeah. And
I think this is such a broken cycle here, too, you know, with this comment had me thinking about
this. Like, oh, I'm going to eat the baked goods. I'm starting to fail at this. You know,
I hate that word failure, but I'm starting to fail at this. Oh, well, I might as well give up.
I might as well let it all go. Where now it's like, okay, I'm going to have these baked goods.
Maybe I'm going to have two or three. And then I'm just going to move on. Like, I'm mindful about it.
I'm not mindless about it. I'm not going to just let it turn into the cycle or the spiral of what
maybe my past has been, I can actually do something about it.
And she's right about these core principles.
Like, this is so important.
We know we know our members are ready to move on to, you know,
personalizing this plan, testing things out and taking those core principles with them.
They're not taking the program with them.
They're taking those core principles with them.
So that's what I love to them.
I'm like, oh, I'm always going to follow the program.
No, you're following the principles that you learned here.
Like you did the program.
You're not, you are not the program.
but you have these principles now to carry you forward.
These principles really are this belief system.
It's who you are and what you do now.
It's different than when you dieted before and you starved yourself and you deprived
yourself and you just ate less and exercise more and you count and you weight and you measured
and didn't really learn anything about anything other than how to be harder on yourself
and berate yourself and feel the need to be perfect all the time.
This was different.
Not just your experience here in maintenance and all the hard work that you put into
that or the deep work that you put into that, how you lost your weight to begin with.
So this is, this is different. And if you can, if you can maintain your weight for a week,
you can maintain it for, you know, 12 weeks. If you can maintain it for 12 weeks,
you can maintain it for 12 months. If you can maintain it for 12 months, you can maintain
it for 12 years because what you have learned is not going to go away. And you're just going
to build on that and become more and more in tune, more self-aware. You know, it's, you're just
starting to work. I had a guest on yesterday, Kim, who is in. Yeah, she's here. She's watching right now. Yeah.
Yeah. She's in maintenance now. And when I was reading over her bio, she's like, okay, it took me two years to lose
this weight, but I'm still working on the 21 years of bad habits. You know, so it is going to take you
a little bit longer, but it is a journey. I'm also, hi to Kim. She was so calm and cool. So she came on
yesterday and spilled a tea. I'm beforehand, she's just so calm and cool and collected. I know she's
joined me before but still and she's just the epitome of that calm all right did that doing this
here i am you know not going back there just gonna do this it's gonna be fine like it's yeah
it's the kind of energy we need um and shannon finally what is what has surprised me most is letting
go of trying to do everything perfect yes i'm still working on this or it's a failure very big for me
There's that. I am like it's going to be a massive success or a complete failure.
There I just, but I know that about me.
So I have to try really hard to see the middle ground all the time, all the time.
And Choney is sort of like my middle piece.
In fact, people always said to me, you have these big goals.
What about the middle?
Figure the middle out later.
So, you know, there's that middle.
This is why I'm big about this, this middle piece of it, you know.
So I get that, that especially.
when it comes to dieting, listen to the conversation we had with Sandra Alia about just
the holidays. She talked about this Monday start again, need to be perfect, perfect over the
holidays, or you've just blown the whole thing, which is not reality. So that is huge. That's
very big for you. That would be big for anybody. That's like a huge, massive, you know,
thing to be able, place to be able to get to. Yeah. And I know you referenced that conversation with
Sandra. I think relevant for anybody, you know, not just people who are trying to lose going
to the holidays. And she had said something. And we talked about this actually a long time ago,
it was last year or the year before, about this like the anti-holiday season that it's supposed
to be the happiest time of the year or the most magical time of the year. And it doesn't
feel like that all the time. It's stressful. It can be stressful if you're like, you know, out there
fighting for that parking spot or, you know, you've got these relationships that.
are, you know, I don't want to say volatile, but, you know, not quite where you want them to
be. It doesn't, it doesn't feel magical for everybody. And that can be triggering for a lot of
people. So I love that she talked about coming into the holidays with a bit more peace,
you know, with expectations that are realistic for you and not for, you know, what you see
on TV or what's on social media or whatever that might be. Just being really realistic about it and
being really real about it. I think it was a really valuable conversation. And anybody can listen
it on the podcast, but maybe it's something we can put here in the group, too.
I used to be super grinchy with the holidays.
It's just like it comes by so fast and why do we just do the same shit over and over year
after year and Tony's like memories and nostalgia and I'm like, yeah, my memories are being
stressed out over how to, you know, buy my kids gifts that I know they're going to go back
to school and their teacher's going to be like, what did you get for Christmas and, you know,
I'm trying to feed them and just like, you know, kids being disciplined.
appointed and you know it's a lot family shit look what you're what you are going through with
your dad passing this holiday and so but but i've come to realize it's what you make it and there's
it gives us a reason to connect it gives us a reason to celebrate it gives like now i'm looking for
glimmers i'm looking for those moments where my i'm sitting on the couch with all my kids in
their home and although they're bickering and fighting and throwing their dirty socks everywhere
I'm leaving their shit everywhere.
Those moments of like when my house is full, you know, a family.
Like it's those tiny moments.
Seeing my dog is, you know, the countdown is on or putting our dog down on Sunday.
But just watching her outside look, you know, just look around and just be peaceful.
Like those small moments.
When your brain is really wired to think negatively, what I love about our program,
it's teaching you how to catch those thoughts, not just the.
thoughts around the scale, right? Not just the thoughts around food, but the thoughts around
everything in your life. That's one thing that you start to realize when you keep your energy
directed at yourself, which is where it's supposed to be, and you sort of connect up with
oneness, you know, it's how you feel about everything. It's how you show up in your life,
your thoughts and your feels. It becomes, it's not about your weight anymore, losing it. It's not
about maintaining it. It's about living a life where you're in tune where you all. You're,
how you feel, where you are self-aware, where you're continuing to understand the things that
you need to work on so you can grow and evolve and move forward. Like that, that's the work that
you're doing here beyond just maintaining your weight and really the next step. Yeah. And I think
that's where, you know, we talk about that calmness. And I think when we move to that place,
we're like him, where she is in tune, where she understands what's going on around here, where
she's open to that. When, you know, that's where that calmness can come from, that comfort is
going to come from and that's just you living that life that you've always thought in your mind
like you've curated it you've made this happen for yourself here yeah yeah so really that's all
i wanted oh did i just oh i thought i just glitched out here for a minute maybe i don't know
my my my comments are working i we got a bit of a technical issue you seem to be fine are you there
hello are you still with us yeah i'm here am i still here i'm still here you're good you're good
I mean, that's a sign.
Okay.
So I wanted to have some fun today because it's our last one.
And we have had these conversations, these heavy conversations.
So I know we've got our regulars joining us.
We've got some other members joining us.
I want to do a holiday this or that.
So they can get to know us a little bit.
Okay.
And then we're going to get to know them.
And they can join along too, right?
Yes, right in the comments.
Yeah, I have them open.
I can see them here.
And Jody's on them too.
Okay.
So first off, holiday this or that, gingerbread or sharp bread.
I'm not the biggest fan of gingerbread, but I do like it at the holidays, but I like shortbread.
My grandma used to make these shortbread cookies when she was still with us.
And sort of my mom and my aunts have kind of learned their recipe.
So whenever I, but it's only those shortbread.
Everybody else is shortbread can suck it.
It's just that one shortbread recipe.
And then otherwise I'm gingerbread.
I know that's complicated.
But I'm gingerbread 100%.
I like shortbread.
But it's like, maybe I just don't.
I need to have your grandma shortbread.
maybe that's the only short bread I like the rest I'm like now this uh-uh no gingerbread your bread
okay wrapping paper yeah gingerbread has to be warm like a cold gingerbread cookie I'm out no okay
I get it wrapping paper or gift bags oh my gosh I love the idea of wrap beautifully wrapped
wrapped gifts this is like the bane of my existence because I did this one year so and it really
and these are probably supposed to be quick rapid fire but anyways yeah um I used to always just
wrap and go, you know, the night before I ended like,
gifts. And then so it was a couple of Christmas ago, I decided I'm going to have joy
in wrapping gifts because it's not, it's not cheap. And so I'm just like, I'm going to spend less
on gifts and more on the beautiful wrapping. And everybody noticed. My whole family noticed. And it
was very satisfying to me. So I used to be gift bags, but now I'm a, I'm a wrapping,
I'm a wrapping paper girl. Yeah, I'm a wrapping paper too. I like a pretty gift bag. And I think when you're
doing multiples like if you're doing like little bags for your friends that's that's fun but with my
family and just at home wrapping paper all the way yeah oh i like how they're bags and reusable right yeah
like there's something to do that too but i find when i'm getting the gift and i'm wrap i wrap it in
the moment then there's more joy in that and rather than waiting last minute and trying to wrap 400 at
the same time right so yeah yeah i agree okay online or in store shopping oh god i have to admit i'm in i'm always an
online girl yeah i just can't do the parking lots and the people i know that's awful i so you know what
this is why so we're going to our revolution her are you coming yeah tomorrow so our revolution
her event and i love this store and if you're in the area and you might not because people are
everywhere so revolution her is a store that carries all women entrepreneur products i'd never
heard of it up until this year and when i went in to go check it out to see if it was a space we
wanted to hold events i was like where has the store been on
my life because it has everything it has beautiful clothing candles jewelry accessories um nutrition
like it has it's like one stop shop for christmas and i'm not just plugging this it's like
my dream store it's like winners but but small and less chaotic and lovely to shop in and
lovely to like winners is amazing but sometimes it's just too much oh yeah like it's just so much it's
like you know i used to go there just to check out this is a revolution her was a beautiful like
it's a beautiful experience where one i try not to buy everything myself but i love that i love that
like going to a store that has for our chapters indigo i love chapters like walking around
if i could just shop in those two stores but otherwise i'm not to walk through the mall and
search for different things. And I appreciate people who were into that. I wasn't even into that
when I had kids. I would never take my kids. Well, probably because I had no money.
It was not fun. Maybe that's it. Shopping was not fun with my, like it was never fun for me for so
long. I didn't have money. And now that I do have money, I'm, I'm, it's hard for me to actually
spend it. And sorry. I mean, I've had the same, you know, this same Zara sweater for four years now.
It's hard for me to spend it. Heather's online.
unless it's clothing, yeah. Credit card is currently smoking from Black Friday. Oh, I hear you. Yeah, right? They make
it too easy to shop online. That's the problem. We had a whole bunch of boxes. I came to the door the
the other day and I was like, whoa, what kind of show? Look at this like Christmas Day, but it was like
toilet paper, paper dowels, cleaning supplies. This is the Tony. What is this? This is not the stuff that I want
showing up at my front door at this time of the year. That story is a revolution to her. It's in, they have one in Vaughn Mills.
and they have one in Burlington as well.
Yeah.
But they also have a great online site.
So if you're not closed,
they have a lot of their vendors online too.
You can buy it to do them out.
Yeah, and totally not a plug.
Just like just being on it.
Yeah.
Okay.
Eggnog or Baileys.
Oh, eggnog with Baileys.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
So eggnog with the rum and bailey.
I don't do eggnog and rum,
but I do eggnog and then add baillies.
But I guess if it was just eggnog and rum,
I would drink that.
I'm like there's a certain time
where every morning,
is coffee and baileys like yeah yeah for first it already started oh the only reason it didn't
start for me is because i drank the rest of it like a couple days ago i you know what i like i like
english breakfast tea with bailey's in it with bailey's in it and a little bit of vanilla but yeah
there's like it's there's like bailey season for me although it's kind of it's bothering my stomach
but I love a good egg.
It's got to be like no artificial flavor, color.
Like I'd rather do quality over quantity eggnog.
I could just, I could drink eggnog.
Oh, freaking eggnog bless.
You either like it or you don't.
Yeah, it's true.
And it's true.
You can get good eggnog and you can get eggnog that doesn't hit the market.
It's got to be the good stuff for me.
But gosh, I love eggnog.
Oh, my goodness.
Yeah, I like it this time of year too.
Yeah, eggnog.
Farm boy has a good one.
Who does?
Farm boy.
Oh, farm boy.
Okay.
I think we got one from Koolorthod.
the dairy ones. I don't know if anybody has access to coortha dairy, but they love cord they love
cordadairy. Someone actually made me a whole homemade bailey's once, which was really good. Yeah.
I think we have someone on our team that's doing that. I think we do. I think so. I'm going to,
I'm going to figure out who it is. I'm going to remember. I think I saw it in one of our in our
chats. I'm just going to attempt it. Okay. Next one. tweet yourself. Do you buy your own gift for
yourself? I know. Because I don't do a lot of shopping.
When I am shopping for other people, I tend to be like, oh, okay, let me get.
So we're doing my favorite things giveaway, starting on Thursday.
We haven't announced it.
It's a spoiler alert.
And it's like hard not to buy one for me, one for, I am the worst.
You know, it's like when you have money, you can't find anything.
It's always when you don't have the money to buy the thing that you find all the things, right?
Like you're like, whenever I, you know, go shopping, you know, when I was younger and I didn't have any money,
it's been a hundred things I like then when I finally get money I'm like I can't I can't let go I can't
spend it so I think when I'm out and I'm looking for other people is like I'm open to buying so then
I'm I'm the worst at that I'm horrible I'm also the kind of person I don't need anything and so
so every Christmas that so one we go away so we're going to go away this Christmas then we buy
nothing and then the other Christmas we're home and we buy gifts so I Tony I have like three
coats because Tony just keeps buying me a new jacket every time I for Christmas because like I
I don't know what you've got you yeah well they're beautiful coats and one last year like one was a
casual one was a puffer and one is like a dress up coat so I don't know what I'm going to ask for
next time but yeah I don't need anything but I will find nice things that yeah I will find nice
well that's this I think that's was this like coming off the black Friday you're like oh I'm
to look for a gift on Black Friday, like, oh, this is, this would be good for me. And how do you
pass it up? Right. I like, I'm all about treating yourself. Kib's like, I shop for myself and
then tell my kids how much money they owe me for my presents, right? Yeah, that's actually a good
idea. Well, and Tony does this every year. Like, you know, what do you want for his family? What do you
want for Christmas? I'm like, socks, a scarf, mints. I'm always like, I love new mints and scarf.
But my kid the other day, she just has a job for the, like, first time. And she's like, what do you
on for Christmas. I looked at her and I was like, I don't know. And so part of me doesn't want her to
spend her money, but then part of it is, you know, because she ain't got no money to spend. But part of it
is like there is the gift giving, right? And so I have a child who makes gifts. I don't know how
many like hand sewn pillows I need. I was just looking to see if I have them around because
normally like they're around everywhere. She makes these hand sewn pillows. Is that one over
there I might grab and show you.
Be right back.
Hang on.
But I don't know any of those.
I really didn't at the day.
I think you can never go wrong with something that's handmade, but I get that.
How many do you need?
Oh, yeah.
You can rotate them out.
Yeah.
No, look.
I'll show you.
This is my kid.
And she's like, so she's, she is an art school.
So last year she made Tony and I this for Christmas for because we, well, maybe two years
ago we got married.
So they're like little paper meshie, the little paper mache dolls that she made.
What's got a little veil.
everything. And then I think this was maybe, she made these. These are Christmas ornaments
that hang on the trees. They're a little giant. Obviously, she loves scrapbooking. And so these
are like, these are like my pillow. So these were, this was the birthday one that I got. Happy birthday.
And this was like happy mom day. I love you. And then she wraps them in things like cloth and then
ties them with ribbons. I love gifts like this. Yeah. Because you're meaningful.
right and there are things you'll hang on to and well i know i don't like i mean i don't know where to put
these but i guess in a like i you know yeah so my daughter is um she doesn't paint as much anymore
but she um used to paint and i know you can't see them on camera but i have again like a bunch
of her paintings behind me and let me do this with it oh gosh no i don't know no i'm going to get
i'll walk over there and get it but if um like her paintings
Is she got the same one?
Come on.
Up to the wall.
Can you see this?
Is this working?
Yep.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, that's cute.
I mean, just little things like this and she'll paint.
And I have another, a mermaid.
And then I just keep them and I have them up.
And this was like, she probably did this and she was like, I don't know, seven or eight.
Yeah.
She's like, she's an artist too.
So she works in with like acrylic paint.
And she just.
It's for me.
I love that.
I love Sue.
Sue's like I asked for specific books because they're such a treat and I go buy them.
Oh, also.
Yeah.
It's a great idea.
It's a great idea.
Yeah, trying to teach the kids the gift of giving, right?
Like it's so fun to give stuff, but you don't have to give like expensive stuff.
We had a kid.
It was another kid who had her first job.
And man, she went crazy at Christmas buying everything, everybody.
And then she was broke in the new year.
She got no money.
I'm like, why would you do that?
And we were like, hey, you don't have to do this.
But she did it.
She's like, oh, it was just so fun and felt great.
I said, okay, but now you're broke.
Yeah.
And now you're asking me for money because you don't have money because you spend all your money.
Like that's, you know.
Oh, my goodness.
Okay.
One more question.
Stay in.
I was just, we're all just hanging out now.
Yeah.
It's like we already had Bailey's today.
Stay in and they're going out.
I used to always stay in because I don't, I don't like to go out, especially people,
people do a lot of drinking and driving on New Year's.
It makes me nervous.
So I'm not a fan, but as a friend group, we kind of all have taken over.
So Tony and I do the holiday party.
Someone else does the Super Bowl party.
And we have another friends who do the, to do the New Year's party.
And so it's a dress up theme.
So this year, I think it's 90s theme.
Last year it was like Gatsby.
And so it's my new thing.
I like, and then you can bring, we can bring our kids and people bring whatever.
And so now I'm a go out on New Year's.
But it's Tony's birthday on New Year's.
I know, New Year's Day.
Yeah, it's birthday is New Year's Day.
So, yeah, so we go out.
That's so hard to buy that man stuff, especially after Christmas.
I don't even talk about a guy who's so picky.
But yeah, what about you?
So we have this tradition.
We always quote for dinner.
We've been going to the same place, habotch.
It's like a habachi restaurant.
We've been going there probably since 2015.
So we do that.
We go earlier now since 5 o'clock.
We go at 5 o'clock so the kids can go out.
We used to go at nine.
So we do that.
And then we're kind of the same as you.
So we go out for this early dinner and we'll go out, but we won't go out, out.
So we'll go out to somebody in the neighborhood.
Maybe we can ride our bike there, even in the snowstorm.
We've, you know, ridden our bike there and ridden our bike home.
And so we do like to go out or have somebody over, but we don't go out.
I don't want to have to worry about, like, you driving or getting a cab or nothing like that.
So we try to stick to the neighborhood, but that's what we do.
I also like, I'd love to stay in, but that never happens, right?
I would also love to watch all the stuff on the TV, too.
Yeah.
I like kind of like flipping through all the different New Year's Eve stuff and seeing all of that stuff.
I think that's really fun.
So that's one of the things that I do miss about now going out, but that was a good era.
I remember like Kathy Griffin, and I know some people hate her because she can be really horrible.
but her and Anderson Cooper used to host
and they'd get hammered and it was funny and he's he's still host he has the new
I can't think of his who hosts with him now Andy Cohen right
and they giggle they like have a few drinks and they're giggling oh my gosh it's so fun
yeah yeah so I love that a couple years ago when we went we went to a big trip
family trip and we were in Hong Kong for New Year's Eve I didn't post anything
but I went to Bali and Singapore and Hong Kong was so in the moment
that was in midst of like really struggling so i was really in the moment didn't post anything on
social media but um tony had um tony had booked this hotel room that apparently like almost a year
in advance like you could watch the fireworks from the water and big hotel room when we were all
going to celebrate and so one morning he talked to the guy at the hotel was like oh yeah we're
going to watch the fireworks from your room and he's like oh you won't be able to see them and tony's
like, oh my God, I booked the wrong hotel. And so we're like, oh, fuck, what are we going to do?
And we're talking Hong Kong. You're talking a million people jamming the streets. And so our kids
were like, well, let's just go be on the street. And we're like, what? Like, they shut the whole
city down. That's how many people come. And so we went out, we trucked out. We had, you know,
things that glue and like, you know, spark with things on our head. And we stuck it out. And we're
all there. Tony's brother and my mom and our kids and all that.
It was so fun.
Half the time you could, all you could see is people.
It was spectacular.
And so just a great experience.
I would never want to do that because it's like, you know, like be cold.
And anyway, all those people.
Anyways, it was fantastic.
We go back inside and Tony's parents didn't come out because they were just like,
no, we're not.
Tony's dad puts this photo in the group chat of like the perfect view of the fireworks.
And it turns.
that we got the wrong intel in that our exact room was like the perfect room to watch these
fireworks. And we were all just like, oh, like, where did you get that photo from the news? He's like,
my room. And we were like, what? But I will never forget. It's one of my favorite. I don't have any
I desire to do it ever again. But now I see why people go to Times Square and they go out. Like,
it was like the most memorable experience. Never want to do it again.
but yeah you'll never and that emotion that's tied to that experience you'll never you'll never
forget that either yeah yeah so whatever it is making memories there's cath my dream is to be on a cruise
for new years and just celebrate all night long oh i would love to stay up late and party i just
i can't wait my mom does this my mom parties she's a party animal i'm like waiting for my
energy to come back so i can do that like i don't i'll hope it happens i'm not going to i can't
make it till 10th. I can't even make it through an episode right now on Netflix. I don't know how I'm going to go through the holiday season. I'm at that I'm at that era in my life. We start watching shows. We don't finish watching shows. I start watching a movie. I don't finish watching the movie. I'm like, yeah. I have to like watch it during the day while my husband's at work. So I can pretend I didn't fall asleep. I'm like, no, no, I saw the whole thing. Then I'm ready for the next episode when he gets.
right secretly watching it yeah fine i saw i saw i'm really watching um okay anything else we
totally am procrastinating wrapping this yeah we're progressing no i had some other questions we can
we were just gonna have fun with but we don't need to we can just we can wrap it up and
were they just I was gonna ask you if you were stuck on a desert island with one tweak
which tweak would you want to do oh if it was one week which one would you want to do
probably feeding them a tub like no the protein and fat revamped week yeah yeah yeah
coconut and fish man and long energy yeah yeah I don't want to be limiting my coconut
and fish with downsizing no I'm going to get my swim in I'm going to do lots of movement yeah
and where am I going to get where am I going to get um nuts for my afternoon snack so we're
right exactly I love it yeah um the other one was um if you have a favorite if you have a favorite week
this round what would be your favorite week i don't know about favorite week but probably i've had some
favorite conversations but there's been so many i honestly i i don't think i i i just know this this
oh can i just say that this round of the maintenance program is probably hands down one of my
favorite rounds i feel like we really got the formula down i feel like our members have been so
gracious and giving in being part of the conversation i feel like we've had a lot and i know you know you
You obviously had this massive tragedy in your family with your dad passing and all of that, which, you know, but I think, I think connecting with people online in a way that feels really real.
I think this has been one of my groups for favorite groups for that reason.
I would say so, too.
I think I think this whole group, our members have been much more engaged.
And what I mean by engaged is not necessarily asking a lot of questions that we didn't feel like we had a lot of questions.
we had a lot of engagement, a lot of reflection, a lot of members talking to each other.
Yes.
And I love that part about it because as much as we can say, you know, we are weight loss and
maintenance experts, there's something about that human experience, right?
And other humans going through that same experience as you.
And I really felt that this round, that our members were really talking to each other
and engaging with each other.
So I love that about this group.
If I had a favorite week, I would say for me,
I love week eight, because we have that conversation about making yourself a priority.
And it really comes to the forefront when you're having to spend so much time on yourself
with feeding the metabolism.
Like every 20 to 30 minutes, you have to check in with yourself.
Yes, yes, yes.
I don't have time for that.
I'm not, like, I've had my time losing weight.
Now I don't, I can't prioritize myself.
I can't make myself important.
I think this week kind of flips that switch for some people that, you know, this is forever.
You're important forever, not just for your weight loss journey.
Yeah. I do love that week. I agree. Love that. That's it. That's what I got.
Well, I just want to take time and say thank you for having such a, like you don't even understand
the passion that you have for this program and our members. Honestly, like I just feel like it's in
such good hands. As you know, like I just trust you wholeheartedly. And it's just that you're always
thinking what next, what more, you know, taking things to the next level. And your heart is so
in it like that in itself is just i just want to say thank you again um and thank you to all of
our members i'm i mean who just are so open to this maintenance conversation and really getting it
and understanding it um i just want to say congratulations for everyone you know i don't care where you
are whether you feel like that or you're a rock star like you matter and you're important and
we're happy to have you here and part of the conversation regardless of where where you are at you
should be proud of the fact that you're still even thinking about continuing to work on yourself
and prioritize yourself, make time for yourself, and want to make the changes that you want to make
and be the change that you want to, you know, see. So yeah, just a massive thanks. I'm already
looking forward to the New Year. I'm really looking forward to when we have our app and we have
all that up and going. You and I have got a lot of work to do. Enjoying holidays. You and I are going to
be working our asses off in the new year.
Yeah.
And I just want to say thank you to, I mean, thank you to you for having this vision and this and
creating the space for us to be able to be passionate, for us to be able to help people.
And, you know, this, you saw this and how this was needed, maybe not in the beginning,
but you knew it was needed.
And you created that place for us to put it all together.
And, and yeah, to our members, thank you for them for being, you know, open minded and committed.
and, you know, we say so many things that can, you know,
are almost unthinkable for some people, you know, like, just like trust yourself,
listen to your inner God or put your energy out there.
What's your vibe?
And for a lot of people, that's like, I don't want to go there.
They're open to it, you know, and now we see them 91 days later asking each other
what their vibe is.
You know, maybe it wasn't even a word they used before.
So I just thank you to them.
And we got to say thank you to Jody because he always kind of rocks.
Oh, yeah.
Can we bring Jody on?
Where's Jody?
Come say hi, Jody.
We've been through a lot.
We've been through the World Series this program.
Hi, I wasn't prepared this morning.
That's okay.
This afternoon.
I guess it's afternoon now.
What do you think about all these?
I mean, we don't ask you, you listen to all these conversations.
You're always listening to these conversations behind the same,
making sure we get the posts up and, you know, we're able to see us and hear us and you get them up on podcast.
I mean, what do you think about these conversations?
That's a big question because there's a lot of,
conversations to think about.
I've bragged to friends.
I think I know more about menopause than any 41-year-old man.
Honestly, I just, I still learn through, like, I've been here for almost three years now in April.
Wow.
And I still have aha moments myself just sitting in on these in the way loss group, in the maintenance group, and also monitoring the comments.
There's just a lot of knowledge, a lot of wisdom that we, that comes across these streams.
So it's hard to pick something in particular, to be honest.
It's really hard at the moment.
Yeah, I hear you.
Are you a gingerbread or shortbread man?
Shortbread.
No.
Didn't even hesitate.
No, I'm a ginger fan in general.
So I would swap ginger for butter every day.
Shortbread is all for winning.
in the comments,
shortbread seemed to be the runaway.
So that's the thing about Jody too.
He's reading every comment that comes through,
you know,
and some of those comments that come up,
we can miss them.
And Jody's like,
you've got to read this one or you've got to see this.
And he keeps this on track.
And normally he prevents us from going over time like today.
But yeah.
What do this on the last one?
What are you going to do?
He's like wrap it up.
Grab it up.
On that note,
thanks, Jody, though.
We appreciate you.
We know that you,
you know,
you care about these.
conversations and our members too and you're right here with us so we appreciate you um all right
let's wrap it up all right um okay okay see you joanie's that come out yeah bye grab it up
we're gonna get the hook in a minute we'll be cutting down over the holidays we'll be around uh
throughout the weekend right odette yeah so have a great holiday season everyone and we
will see you in the new year see in the new year right is that you want to say anything or that's
it no i'm done okay bye everyone have great today
Bye.
