That's F-E-L-I-X dot C-A. Welcome to Weigh In Wednesday, where we weigh in on all things maintenance.
One of my favorite topics.
Joining me, as usual, is Kim, who's the manager of our weight loss group.
And of course, Odette, who is the manager of our maintenance and mindfulness group,
where we are having this conversation. And our special guest today
is Frankie Kelly down 40 pounds. What's really interesting though, is you did your,
your first program in the winter 2022. And then you followed that with our spring
summer program. And then you were one of the first members to join our maintenance group here.
Just behind the scenes, we were just chatting how you were like, come on, let's go get this
group started. I didn't think we needed a group. It turns out I was really wrong about that. So
welcome, Frankie. Hello. Hi. Hi, Gina and Kim and Odette. Thank you. I think, yeah, when I was
begging for like in the background please I
need something because I was saying I was gonna I didn't know what to do without your voice in my
head every day and then it was also I guess I call it like training wheels I knew the I didn't I
probably thought I knew the program inside out because of the way I was eating but I did learn
more about it obviously as time went on but was more, is there not some guide for maintenance,
because I thought I kept thinking I had to transition from the weight loss program to
a different way to eat. And I realized, we can talk it we can get into that. But I realized I
didn't really need to transition that much from it. So well, I know the ladies would agree with
me, it's been a real, it's been been a real learning opportunity because I didn't think people needed me because the way they lost weight was so extensive, so healthy physically, mentally. It takes a lot to lose your weight in a healthy, sustainable way. And I thought, okay, that's where the conversation ends. You personalize your plan, you're good. And boy, like I said, I was wrong about that. And we've come to realize there's a lot more really the work is in maintenance, you know, which is why we have
those four stages of the living method, the lose your weight, then you solidify your weight, which
is a big one. And then you know, that maintenance phase where you're learning to test the waters,
learning to trust, which is a big one, that you've made the changes continuing to support
your healthy habits before you're ready to that finally in forever. And we're actually working on creating a manual. We're working,
you'll notice Odette's been posting a lot of the posts relevant to what we're talking about in the
weight loss group for people who are solidifying by repeating the program. And so we want maintenance
eventually to be its own program and to have its own, you know, workbook and guide and whatnot too.
So I love hearing that
because we're, we're working on that, but you're, you're a survivor of the maintenance group in its
infancy. And here you are. I'm sure we have some great topics that we want to get into and would
love Frankie's input on Odette today. What are we chatting about? Yeah, we've got, we do have a
couple of great topics. So some actually sparked by Frankie,
but and then also came up in the group, you know, just incidentally, as well this week. So I think, you know, we are feeling that a lot of our members are in the same place. The one thing I want to say
about Frankie is that she is really a vocal and supportive member in our group. And I think that's
what we want all of our members to be like, you know, Frankie's not afraid to share her challenges. And there were there had been a few
of them. And, you know, she also wasn't afraid to come in and celebrate and, you know, give her
insight and give her opinion. So I mean, we love that, that she's been such a big part of this
community that we have to have her on. And, you know, we talked a year ago, and Frankie's in a
bit of a different place. And now she's in this place where I'm in really offer insight. And, you know, we talked a year ago and Frankie was in a bit of a different place. And now she's in this place where I'm in really offer insight and that's valuable for our members. So
yeah, we're going to get right into it. And one of the things that, um, Frankie,
we talked about a year ago and I was reading her posts from a year ago or comments.
No, I find everything in there. I can go back and find it.
And actually was the topic about imposter syndrome. And we just talked about that again, you know,
in our most recent conversations and I'm going to let you take it Frankie,
but I know you had said that, you know, you had this,
you were in a, like an imposter. You feel like you didn't belong, you know,
where in, in maintenance that you didn't feel like you had such self-doubt and you had anxiety around the scale.
And how can this be, you know, you're finally in forever and you didn't feel like you were actually this person that you were supposed to be.
Yeah, I think so.
I'm remembering I was saying part of the reason I wanted to be on here.
I'm really not one to be.
I'm sure the members in the community wouldn't say this, but I'm really not one to be on social media. I kind of, I watch and I listen, but I don't this,
the more I got involved in Gina's program. And then the more I got involved in maintenance,
I just kept wanting to share because I'd be like, why am I not rocking it in maintenance? Why am I
not? Some of these people are, you know, and I'm high-fiving them and I'm loving what I'm hearing but I'm like am I like am I a maintenance failure like am I not
doing what I'm supposed to be doing I'm not getting there quick enough and I think that I
mentioned yesterday I was one of those people and Gina you said it was back in December you said
this post makes me sad because I said I'm tired of the scale I can't stand it if I'm because I
was two pounds above.
And I think that we called it fear of fluctuating.
You know, that whole thing of you go from fear of gaining the weight back to, I would
see these numbers and it's take, and I never thought I'd get to the point where somewhere
between stages two and three, I think, okay, you know what?
I'm not there.
And then if I repeat the program, I'm going back and
repeating it. And I'm putting last year's news in my head. This is how I saw it. I don't feel
like that anymore. I did the program again, I think in April and behind the scenes and
learn so much more. I didn't feel like I was going backwards. I didn't feel like I was failing. And now in maintenance, I'm, I said to a debt, um, that I just in January subconsciously realized that
my portions are smaller. I'm making food choices that I'm not thinking about. I'm not freaking out
about the scale. I know similar to, um, I think we were talking about, I think it was Debbie.
I don't like seeing the number four pounds higher. Like I, I don't feel comfortable five pounds above my goal weight. So
I really do try to stay within that. My lowest low was four pounds below my goal weight, but
I got rid of trying. I used to, I was one of those people that said, well, if I can be four or five
pounds below my goal weight, then I can eat kind of
what I want and not worry about it. And I can fluctuate and striving for that number. I'm so
past that now I'm in a much calmer place. And I think that I'm at peace with that and my road to
finally in forever, I'm fitting in a lot. I'm just trying to say that my finally forever for me was
the words were losing weight.
I've been playing around with weight for like 40 some years. Right.
So for me to be in this place, you know, I thank all of you for this.
But for me to be in this peaceful place, I know I'm still going to have struggles, but I.
I don't mind if it takes me a long time to get to stage four.
You know, I don't care if it takes me.
I don't care if I never get there I'm so calm with my daily decisions that it's my evolution that I'm
proud of and the journey you know that I'm so proud of right now and with all of your help and
support so I'm good like I I don't mean I've got it licked or figured out but I'm good with where
I'm at I feel really good about where I'm at right now.
So I love it.
What's that question for you?
Do you think it was because what I'm hearing is, um, was it imposter syndrome or was it
that you just, cause when you do that, cause I, I'm so fascinated in this because you do
so much work
to lose weight in a healthy sustainable way with the living method like it's not a joke
you know what i mean like you have to be aware of that and what it does it leaves you really in tune
to your body and so do you think it was imposter syndrome or do you think it was more just you were
recognizing okay maybe you weren't done the mental part of it yet like as much as we want to be done
you were done physically but maybe you were picking up
because you talk about subconsciously maybe you were picking up that maybe you weren't done some
of the mental work i hundred percent you're bang on because i think without even thinking about it
too much i when i went through the weight loss journey and i have a really close friend that
she'll say she says it jokingly like or caringly like she'll say, do your body dysmorphia?
Like some people can't understand how you can lose that much weight and not see yourself that way,
you know, but if you've had this image of yourself and you don't always want to be the
one in the photos that you guys have said, or you ladies have said, um, I, I didn't see,
and I go into a store and think, well, I'm not that size. Like how can I,
and then it's taken me a little while to be a little more comfortable in that.
And I used to say, and you've said this as well,
my brain hadn't caught up with my body. So you're right.
It's a complete mental game. And that's where I was.
Maybe even I'll say four or five months ago, I was like,
it's taken me a long time to lose weight.
If it takes me a long time to get to F and F, that's fine.
And I'm even just in January or February, just now, I realized, I think I'm approaching without consciously thinking about it too much.
I think I'm approaching that place of, you know, subconsciously, I guess, just making smaller portions and all of that.
So I'm loving where I'm at right now.
Like I like to stay here for a little while.
Cause I, I, I can feel better and, you know,
and getting the water in and, and all of that, you know, I,
I heard a great, I wanted to share this with you guys really quick.
I heard a great quote, Gina, for like, when you're on the program,
it was from James Corden on Jay Shetty, but he said, someone told him going on a diet, it's like going on a
holiday. Because if you use the word diet, you're going to return and come back on a holiday. If
you go on a diet, it's saying that it's short term, he goes, why don't we just say this is the
way I live now. And that's it. Yeah, you know, you don't have to say you're never gonna have bread
again, you know, don't go on something, change something.
And I just love that because I feel like that's what you help people do.
Like we're not on whether we call it a diet or an eating regime, whatever you want to call it.
We're doing something.
We're changing something.
And it's just a healthy way to live.
And we can make our own choices throughout the day about how we want to incorporate that.
But it's.
Well, that's the mindful part, right?
Isn't that the mindful part of maintenance?
Really?
You know, and that's what that stage three is supposed to be like that testing the waters.
Yeah.
I say learning what maintenance looks like and feels like to you.
We could also say getting to know the new you.
Getting to know the new you, you know, like, you know, settling into the changes that you've made.
I just think this is just such an important conversation because you're kind of summing
up the feels that people have when they work through these different stages. And you may
seem like what's wrong with me and I'm struggling or whatever, when I think all of it is so normal yeah you you've been saying this as you
get to each stage and I I thought I'm not there I can't like what's I'm not going to be one of
those people and I'm finally in that and that's what I want to almost like for all the women and
men out there and everyone out there that has got it figured you you know, or great for them, like if they can get it and move
forward real quick, for those of you that can't get it and move forward real quick, I just want
to say hang in there, you know, the power of one more day, when you think you can't do it, just do
it one more day, and just keep going, because sometimes I would tell myself that, and I'm coming
out on the other side, and I guarantee if you see me quiet in
the group it's because uh-oh rut row I might maybe I've slipped back and I don't want to admit it or
you know I read other people's posts and I hit like or hey I understand because they're saying
man did I ever indulge this weekend or whatever I've done and I think well me too but I don't
want to tell everybody that or something you know I, I get a little quiet. I love that people share that,
because that's just life, right? Like this. Yeah, I think you, you know, you're the point to what
Gina had said about, you know, is it imposter syndrome? Or is it mindfulness, like until you
really recognize that that is such a big component. And that's what you have to work on,
like you did this physical work. And now here's that's what you have to work on. Like you did this physical work and now here's this mindfulness you have to work on.
If you don't have that mindfulness piece, you think, how can I be in maintenance?
How is this?
It should be at this place where it's easy and everything's falling into place.
And then you start self-doubting.
And so that's when that starts to creep back in.
A hundred percent.
A hundred percent.
I would feel like, well, if I, if I don't, what,
what is I kind of the same thing? Like we,
I've heard you guys talk about this too. Like what is mindful, right?
Like, why do I have to be mindful? Don't be mindful. Like, why can't I just,
why can't it naturally, right?
We feel like sometimes we do that. I'm going to meditate.
I'm going to do this and you know, and now I find all my,
I kind of evolved my
supplements and everything I take now is a little bit like autopilot, but in a good way, like I like
what I'm taking out. I'm comfortable with the amount of water. I don't think about it. I, I,
I guess it's mindful because I like the way I feel. I'm even, I've been insomniac since my early
forties when I, you know,
on the corporate train, juggling, commuting, travel with work, family,
perimenopause, menopause. I listened to, you know, Dr. Beverly and all the, you know,
you've got Dr. Lynn, all the sleep folks. And I'm following my own program with my
Samsung galaxy watching. I'm finally starting to sleep again.
And I know it's part of this healthful journey
and lifestyle that I've been on.
Thanks to you, Gina, and the whole team,
Odette and Kim and the whole support.
It really is part of my ritual.
I'll call it, it's a habit to check in,
but I just find there's so many good tips
and wonderful advice and wonderful experts that you have on here.
And I know you're going to keep growing and evolving.
And I can say I knew her when.
She was a hot mess.
Well, you think about that imposter syndrome.
It's weird because I don't know if it's dieting just makes us think that we'll be so easy and we should do it.
And obviously there's a lot more to it, but even like, or we're never really like when we're learning something or trying to accomplish something, we're never really learning. We don't
just get there. There's such a process with everything we do in our lives. I feel, yeah.
I mean, I feel like, who am I? I want to run this, you know, multi-billion dollar number one weight loss company in the world. And sometimes, you know, when I say that, I'm like,
I could barely brush my hair today, you know, like what, you know, or even getting up and
talking in front of the group on lives. I'm like, who, who wants to hear from me?
Yeah. But we love it. Cause you're real. Like Like that's what makes it like if you went out every day and said, okay, you know, everything's perfect. And even if you
had a glam team doing it for you and all that, it's nice to hear real from you where everyone's
turning to you and Odette and Kim and the team, like the fearless leaders helping us through all
this. If you didn't show that you're human too,
I think that's why you're part of the reason why you're so successful.
And that's why I love listening to you. You had great days,
not so great days and just like all of us.
And you know that weight loss industry inside out and you're the expert at
that. So we turned to you,
but it's okay to hear that some days you're not having a great
day, you know? Yeah. And I think that's the secret sauce to this whole thing is that it is real.
Everyone is trying to sell weight loss. Like it's so easy because people want to buy quick and easy.
It's so easy. It's so easy. And they convince you while you're trying to do it, but it's easy. Just
three simple steps. Like you can lose 20 pounds in two but it's easy. Just three simple steps. Like you can
lose 20 pounds in two weeks or whatever. It's three simple steps. That's what they're trying
to sell you quick and easy. And like, we're willing to have that conversation that it is not
quick. It is not easy. It's going to be messy. It's going to be hard, but we're going to be here
with you through it. Well, doesn't it come down to what you said, Frankie, where even on your not best days, you want to, you like hearing other people with where
they're at. You don't feel alone. It's almost like this permission to not be perfect permission for
it to be real and to talk about the very real things that, you know, you're going through and
other people are going through. I think we just
pretend like everything is perfect and it's fine. It's fine. It's fine. And it's not. And we're
trying to accomplish big things in our lives and we're just supposed to make it look like it's easy
and it's supposed to be easy. And meanwhile, we're all struggling silently behind the scenes by
ourselves. Especially to Gina at that point, especially when people like, if you've read,
sometimes the community is amazing here.
And I feel like I didn't get an opportunity to get to Toronto for that event
that you hosted. And I just couldn't get that way that weekend.
But I keep thinking it'd be great to meet people that I feel like I know
already because I'll see people posting.
And then when someone's having a great day, I want to high five them too.
And then when someone's not,
I want to say something or share
because I think I've been there hanging.
Like maybe I got a few more months into maintenance on you.
Maybe I got a year.
But I remember I'm older than all of you ladies there.
So I remember hearing a long time ago that when I worked with the government,
around university age but one letter
this is before type um email one letter to the government would represent 500 constituents or
something so can you imagine now for the members out there that post just to think about like
one post in a community could there could be four or five hundred other people feeling the same way
and they may never post as you say, Gina,
but they're feeling it. And it's nice to read it. And even if you're a behind the scenes person,
and you're reading it, and it helps you great. And if you're not, and you know, I sometimes I
when I'm typing something, and I realize it says, see more, you know, whatever it is on your post,
oh, no, I just like I am right now I'm rambling I
should just like shut up and then I I want to sometimes edit it and type it out so that I think
well maybe someone if they're feeling this way will go yeah that's just like me so sometimes
that's why I do that because I think it helps me obviously but I'm trying to help everybody
else that might feel that way.
New year, new me. Season is here. And honestly, we're already over it. Enter Felix, the healthcare company helping Canadians take a different approach to weight loss this year. Weight loss
is more than just diet and exercise. It can be about tackling genetics, hormones, metabolism.
Felix gets it. They connect you with licensed health care practitioners
online who'll create a personalized treatment plan that pairs your healthy lifestyle with a
little help and a little extra support start your visit today at felix.ca that's f-e-l-i-x.ca
well i'm glad that you don't edit those comments because I think it's just giving everybody a bit
of permission to you know you don't have to be perfect to inspire yourself and inspire others
you know it's sometimes in those imperfections and being off being honest in those imperfections
that are going that's what's going to resonate with with other people and other members and
that's what's going to help you grow and move on. You know what I love through your post this week?
The one about building the house, which I've read before.
I love that because I didn't, I was reading everyone's
and I was enjoying reading everyone else's so much.
I didn't put a lot of thought into mine,
but I was thinking for me, it's kind of like,
I built this house with this great foundation
and then I found a couple of leaks in it.
And then I had to, you know, go and fix the leaks.
And then, you know, it's just everybody,
it kind of just in where I'm at right now,
everyone's always said my style is very transitional.
So I'm kind of probably still that person in maintenance, you know,
I'm transitioning.
I got modern and traditional stuff mixed in together.
And I like that. And I think that's for me maintenance is
I truly believe I'm hoping that it's like this and this is going to come out odd maybe but for
the rest of my life like I'm hoping that I'm evolving I never want to stay stagnant I want
to be part of this group and grow and grow into other things and continue on this helpful journey that I'm on like to think that I'm almost
60 I'm 59 and to think that this year like I feel better than I did at 45 what does that say like
you know I mean that's fantastic but it's just to me it's like wow that's why it's good I don't
want to get emotional but like I have to thank my friend Donna that introduced ladies.
We were out in November of 2021, I guess.
She was just like a gorgeous gal,
10 pound gain at menopause. And just like, I got,
we might have a lot more weight to lose. And I'm like, those were drinking.
I'm like, sure. Sign me up. Whatever the program is. I'll do it in January.
I don't care. Gina, I was in your program for like, just you heard a million thousand times right I was like two weeks in I'm like
oh my god I'm eating all the time and the scale's going down oh my god I love this and then my
husband's like wait for people to ask what you're doing don't be a Gina pusher because I want it to
go around to everyone I know and go, you've got to do this.
Oh, my God.
And then I was finding pockets of people, you know, they were coming up to me in my neighborhood in Burlington at the time.
You know, what are you doing?
You got to tell me.
Can I tell them?
Am I being a Gina pusher?
It was almost like I made people ask me two times before I would, you know, I didn't, it's not that I didn't want to share.
It was just, you really want to know, I'll tell you because it's just flipping healthy eating, like with a ton of choices.
It's okay to be a Gina pusher.
We sit around our marketing trying to figure out what can we, how can we sell the program, get people to know about it.
But like every, no matter what we put on our website, what we do, we always hear stories of like,
oh, my friend told me I just signed up. I didn't even, I just clicked sign up. I just, whatever.
I love what you said there, um, about really knowing who you are and you don't have to like
completely change. You can make a lot of changes. you can change and evolve, and still honor yourself and your quirks
and the ways that work for you. And I think that's about it's not like you're if you want to be a
whole new person, be a whole new person. But I think, you know, I think there's something really
huge in what you said about just kind of recognize the person that I am and how I think and how I
feel and how I do things and how I navigate through life and all of that.
And, you know, you're just kind of you're making these changes, obviously, and creating new habits,
just like you create old habits. But it's okay to, to really honor, I always say honor where you're at, but really honor who you are. Yes, that's a really good point.
No, that's a really good point. And I think honoring even the struggles to your point when you're when
I was going through it it's that's the stage I was at I just didn't recognize it at the time that
I might get you know just keep going and you're going to get to those stages that I felt like
were like like oh my gosh they're so far away I'm never going to get there and yeah all of a sudden
you wake up and I guess I'm at one of these stages and
I'm just going to keep going and see, see what else I discover.
And I love what you said, like Frankie, in the very beginning too, that you said,
you know, you find that you're evolving now, you know, and you're learning who you are and you know
that you're changing, you're shifting, but you know you're also not done.
Right. And I think that also goes back to the house analogy a little bit, building your house where, you know, your your house could be up and your walls could be set and it's there built on solid foundation.
But that doesn't necessarily mean that everything on the inside is done or maybe it is done for a while.
And then you want, you know, and then there's a little bit of upkeep to do.
And, you know, that tornado, I'm going gonna knock it down or a hurricane or an earthquake or yeah yeah yeah
always a little bit of work and upkeep to be done there and if you can honor that space and you know
who you are now and who you know that's a great point because if anyone's moved or done anything
or you worked on your home you get to a point, or I did when we did this in Burlington,
I remodeled and stuff. And I was like, I don't want to look at my house.
I don't want to do anything. I don't want, you know,
and then we moved and I'm thinking, you know,
you want to get everything organized. And then I'm thinking,
I don't want to think about it anymore.
And I think that's kind of how I felt going into mate.
Like at one point I thought, I don't want to repeat the program.
I want to move forward. I don't want, I don't want to keep thinking that way, which I thought was going,
obviously it's an amazing program. I thought it was going backwards. I was telling Odette,
I didn't want to go back to January, 2020 and start prepping. And I kind of had to get my head
around that into the April group. I thought, okay, it's not that there's tools in here I can
use, what do I want to take out of this toolbox for my maintenance journey. So I would listen to
both programs. And I did get a lot out of it. And I, I morphed, you know, from there, and I kept
evolving. And that's why, you know, all the podcasts that I listened to when I'm walking,
and even just the way I exercise, like I always try to change it up up or, you know, if I'm doing Pilates or yoga or I'm walking, I think what else,
I can't just do 15 reps for weights. Like I did two years ago. It's, you know,
not going to change anything. So I add reps or I change or add, you know,
bands to my exercise or doing something so that I'm trying to, again,
evolve that. So I'm not on autopilot my exercise so what's the um and i'm
sure you had other topics for us to weigh on and wait on those because you have such an interesting
story that you've been with the maintenance since since we started it july 2022 and obviously it's
now january 2024 so what is that sort of like that evolutionary
talk about evolving like that that whole like how would you describe your journey over the last
like two years with maintenance you know that's funny Gina I was gonna I took I wrote some notes
down so I didn't sidetrack this conversation or hijack and I apologize I almost was going to
hold up little um little uh charts of like happy face and then like question mark face of like I'm
in maintenance what do you know what where am I at right now why am I not getting this and then
angry face I'm tired of weighing myself and I don't want to think about food and then like
and then I'd be like calm zen peace you know so I I think the whole the whole evolution of it and I don't want to think about food and then like and then I'd be like calm zen peace you know
so I I think the whole the whole evolution of it and I think because you yourselves with the
whole maintenance mindfulness and make those program you evolve like for people joining now
I don't want to say I'm jealous but I'm almost like wow your program is so far along that this is a great place to land.
What you did this year by, you know, showing the guides and how I think that to me is the best
hybrid of taking so far, I'm sure you're going to keep doing things, but of taking the weight loss
group, combine it with maintenance. So for the people like me that needed more training wheels
from the weight loss group to the maintenance group,
I saw that and I thought you guys are rocking because that is just what
people need.
And I'm sure it can continue to evolve for that as well.
But I wished I'd had that,
but I'm so thrilled that you started the group.
So there was a place to go to and ask questions and the support I get.
I feel like I got to do a shout out
to all your support team
because I feel like I know all them too.
Like I'm like, oh, Sean.
I don't want to start mentioning names,
but people are, you know, cons pristine.
Like everyone's always given us a high five
and answering questions.
And it's really fantastic.
Like the way you've got that set up
because I know I'm going to get some support.
So I think that for the moments where I was down in the valley it really was it's the scale like
the scale is a real mind f with me and I I've made some peace with it and I do have to check
my if I wait two weeks to weigh myself that's because I don't want to but Gina you know something else I learned you've said this all the time and I probably learned this
in the last six to eight months I know what I weigh before I get on the scale like I don't I
feel it like I can tell I was telling Ruth and the focus group this not to sound too intimate but I
can lay there in bed I can tell by my hip bones know, if I'm getting up in the morning, Oh,
you got a bit of a pot on me. Don't get on the scale.
I can just tell by like how puffy my face is or, you know, if I'm,
so I think that evolution of maintenance is just,
I guess just the self-awareness you said it earlier.
It's just being very self-aware of where you're at and recognizing each stage
of the journey. And then we're all going to be at it at different points.
We're not, some people may not experience every one,
but there are stages through this program and this journey. I mean,
and I think people just have to not,
if they can rock it and move quickly through it, great.
But there's so many of us that are going to feel, I think it's when you come into it too,
you're like, yeah, I'm in maintenance.
Yeah, I'm over here finally.
And then you have to realize, that's what hit me.
It was when I was in it in July and then I kept losing weight.
And then by October, November, December, I'm like, oh my, so how many months is that?
Whatever.
I was kind of like, oh no, like, why am I'm like, Oh my, so how many months is that? Whatever. I was kind of like, Oh no.
Like why am I still afraid of the scale? And why, why am I, I,
I can't, you know,
how come I don't know how to eat without thinking of, you know,
three meals and three snacks. And even though I have an apple, you know,
in the afternoon with nut butter or something, I,
and then that just
morphed into something else like just eating the way I want to eat I feel better when I eat that
way and I I just I have my pizza when I want my pizza nights I do my thing and I'm going out for
wing night tonight so I have with my husband he's waiting downstairs for me but uh he wants he wants the bar where
there's 30 beers on tap or something where uh yeah so do I
I'm the DD tonight so we're meeting up with some other people but I you know I'm gonna go out and
have fun and not think about it and not worry about it and get on with my day. Well, I do want to say,
I love that you've been able to see the evolution of the maintenance group.
And we are working behind the scenes.
WODET's working really hard to try to figure out the conversation,
what you guys need.
We are working on eventually having a maintenance app.
So people would just go from the weight loss group,
even solidify in the maintenance.
So it's just like you lose your weight to lose weight,
that there's a whole separate group and program for maintenance. But it's because of all the
feedback that we've got from our amazing members like you, that's, you know, we wish we could put
it together overnight, but we want to do it thoughtfully. And, you know, 21 groups later,
I'm still learning what I'm learning from weight loss. That's, you know, the members are getting
more savvy group after group, you know, the members are getting more savvy group after group,
you know, we're adding in these amazing conversations with our guests. And, you know,
so I do want to say thank you for, you know, every time you've asked a question, you've shared a
comment or thought or feeling or help support or gave feedback, because this is what is helping us
to know what members in maintenance need. I mean, even this conversation today, I think it's so important because I can just imagine it's giving so many people in our
maintenance group or people who are in the weight loss group and they're, they're, you know,
thinking about maintenance, so much hope and to understand it's a process just like weight loss
and it's progress over perfection. And you're going to get there and everyone's going to get
there on their own timeline. Um, and to get to a place where you are just that calm place and be like, okay,
well maybe I still have more work to do. Cause who doesn't still have work there? I lost my
weight 36 years ago. I still, I still have work I'm working on not to depress everybody, but
it never stops. Well, if we're not, if we're not changing i mean we're we're kind of
staying the same right you know like you want to keep you want to keep changing and whether some
days are fantastic some days are not and on that app i know how much work it takes behind the
scenes to do an app the one thing i've like been begging for in the maintenance group,
when you get there,
whenever that is,
I don't even hear is when you do the goal,
the weight,
I always used to say there could be like a little bit of a range for your
weight when you want to weigh yourself.
So it doesn't look,
I used to feel like if I wasn't hitting that goal weight,
I'm failing,
you know,
like I,
so I always think if there could just be some maintenance range in the app for like, if it's whatever the fluctuation you want to enter, I thought because I would's weight i did but am i really up aren't i just fluctuating isn't this okay
but i still see that messaging in it it again because i'm one of those people that
has a love-hate relationship with the scale or a weird one maybe not even i don't even really care
about it anymore yeah we're actually on not we on not, we're on separate, we're on distant terms,
we're not hanging out together. I use it as a tool, just like you used to say, and I never
used that's interesting. I've just evolved right here. I use the scale as a tool and I used to
dread it. So thank you for that. Look at look at that. A moment that just happened.
Thank you. Yes, I love a good aha moment. But thank you.
I think it's brilliant. When we do create our maintenance app, and people are using moment that just happened thank you yes i love a good aha moment but thank you for that suggestion
i think it's brilliant when we do when we do create our maintenance app and people are using
it are continuing to weigh themselves every day is to have a range that they can set up
no worries whatever you know um that's freaking brilliant see this is how it is oh yeah that's
what i that's what I call myself around here.
Brilliant.
No, but thank you.
That's what I used to think.
Gee, if I didn't have to see that, I think I'd feel like I'm not going in the wrong direction.
Like I'm hovering within that range that you always say is whatever our range is.
Like I said, me and a few other members are probably in the, like, I don't want to see.
Once I hit five pounds, I know things don't fit right right so i need to stay within that five pound range some people can have like
yourself you know a 10 pound 11 pound whatever it is um but for me i just got to be careful
probably because i've had a long history of challenges with my weight and i don't want to
go back there so i want to make sure i'm keeping myself in check but it thinks these are it's just an
amazing place to be over here you've created something wonderful i told odette that like
this is i don't care how people have lost their weight you know a lot of people need different
kinds of help this is the place to be for everybody um that has lost weight or trying to finish losing weight. Cause no one offers this, nobody. This is.
So thank you so much, Gina,
and all of you and all the behind the scenes people and the members,
because I don't want to get emotional. I just,
I just feel like this has been, you've helped change my life.
Like you really have like, it's a big deal.
Oh, that's so kind. And we're, we're happy to help. It's all you at the end of the day. And
thank you right back. Um, our time is up. I would love to see our conversation,
but your husband is waiting. He wants to go have his beer.
Frankie, I absolutely adore you. And I love the conversation that we've had today um
odette i know we probably totally sidetracked your whole i did i'm so sorry yeah okay i actually like
this better my problems were not much right so and i just yeah and i just um i'm gonna give myself
the final word here i hope that's okay yes yes please. Yes. I just want to say it, you know, it's Frankie and her evolution that has really helped, you know, this group and its evolution,
right. And just hearing from members like you, I think I said it off the top, Frankie has really,
it's inspiring to us and to help, and it helps us help you. And I think it helps, um, the other
members as well. So we love that. We just want to see continued discussion.
Don't worry about if you're, if you're, you know,
typing too much or you've got to, you've got to use two boxes.
That's okay.
We are, we're here for it.
And, and, you know,
we love when our members are talking to each other.
I think Valerie and me are always thinking we're typing too much,
but we still do it.
Never stop.
Don't stop.
Don't stop.
Won't stop. Odette, what do you got
coming up this week? I know Dr. Paul's coming Friday. Yeah, Dr. Paul's coming Friday. Really
insightful and intriguing topic about the concept of anti-aging. So not necessarily, not, not like,
you know, combating wrinkles and gray hair, but really setting ourselves up to live those later years,
you know, as functional and as healthy as we can. So, you know, doing it now, it's never too late.
So starting now. Yeah. So I'm really looking forward to that. All right. Amazing. Well,
we got to go. We're over time, but we make the rules around here. Odette, Kim, as always,
thank you. Always a great conversation. And Frankie, thank you, thank you, thank you.
What a great conversation today.
Please come back and join us again, honestly.
Also, take time to read the comments.
Obviously, lots of support.
And thanks to everyone who did comment, who asked questions, who shared today.
And for everyone listening, have an amazing rest of your day.
Thank you.
