Welcome to Spill the Tea. This community is so open and welcoming. People that don't even know
you come in and say, you know, I've been there. I know how you're feeling. Losing weight, but
gaining so much more. Welcome to Spill the Tea. The conversation today is all about maintenance. It's one thing to lose
your weight. It's another to be able to maintain and sustain it. And our focus here at The Living
Method on maintenance, I think, is one of the reasons why we are different than any other diet.
I mean, just only one of the reasons why we're different than any other diet. So my guest today is Christine Textera. She lost over 80 pounds with the Livi Method. As you know, with the Livi Method, we have those four
stages. Lose your weight, right? When you're done, you want to solidify your weight. Then you want to
test the waters and maintenance, understand what maintenance now looks like and feels like to you
before you just live the Livi way and go on and live your life. So Christine took five groups to lose her 80 pounds.
She did two groups to solidify the spring, summer, and the fall program of last year. So she's been
in maintenance for a while and we're going to just, I'm going to ask her all about it. I know
there's some of you who are ready for maintenance, some of you who are far off from maintenance,
and some of you are close but not sure about maintenance. So we're going to introduce
Christine, get her on here and talk maintenance. Hello. Hello, Gina.
How are you? I'm great. How are you?
I'm good. Christina and I are like old friends because I mean, you, you know, you know, I'm TMI half the time and you did five programs with me.
So so we know each other very well. Plus, I've had an opportunity to hang out with you. We did that really fun live, you lose or shoot last year. Yeah. You came with us to our dragon
stand. We were, we can't talk much about that yet. Um, but you were there, you were there with us.
Um, we've had an opportunity to speak to you a few times. So here you are in maintenance.
Do you remember when you were finishing up your weight loss journey
and you were thinking about like maintenance, how you were feeling at that in that moment?
Yes, I was feeling very, very nervous because of my long history with other diets,
having success in the short term and getting it all back, plus more every time. I really
was very, very nervous when I was finally like, okay, I'm at the point I want to be, but will I
be able to stay here? So yeah, nervous was definitely how I was feeling. Yeah, because I think, you know,
even though the living method is different, right? Like it's a healthy, it's healthy, physically,
mentally, all the work that you work
through not just what to eat and when but the issues and associations and the beliefs and the
habits and all of that you you know I think you would agree that you've done it differently this
time yeah yes for sure okay but even with that there's still those feelings of being nervous
about getting it back of course because that was my pattern in the past. So how could I not be a little bit nervous
about that? Okay, so the big question is, then how did you how, how are you feeling now about
maintenance? And how did you get there? I'm assuming you're pretty good with it at this
point. But how are you feeling now? Now I'm completely feeling completely different. So
initially, I was very
nervous and apprehensive and, you know, hoping and crossing all my fingers and toes that I was
going to be able to maintain. But now that I've been a year in maintenance, now I have a completely
different outlook. Now I'm more calm. I'm not obsessed about the scale. Like I do weigh myself,
but not every day anymore. I don't have that strong obsession with the scale like I used to.
I just so calm and confident because I know that, you know, when I choose to indulge,
because I do, that's part of life.
I know that I have all the tools I need to get back on track and I'm just completely
not stressed about it, which is huge.
Yeah. What's the,
what's the thing that has surprised you about maintenance or you'd want people to know about
maintenance? Um, well you talk about this a lot, but that your weight is going to fluctuate. It's
not like that magic number on the scale. And that's what you're going to see every day when
you get up and get on the scale. That's not the case. Your weight is going to fluctuate
and I'm okay with that. I know that once I get to a point
where I'm not feeling comfortable anymore, then I know what to do. I get, I do the basic food plan
again and goes right back down. So I'm just completely not stressed about it, but that
surprised me. I didn't know there was going to be, you know, that much fluctuation, but it's just
part of life. Yeah. Well, I think that's, I think people, I think, I think people, because with the program or they're weighing themselves so often with
weighing yourself every day where other diets, maybe you weighed once a week or when you knew
kind of like you've lost weight and you want to see what's happening and that weighing yourself
every single day, you are really, really aware of those. You're catching those fluctuations in real
time. And so even though you are done losing your weight, your, you're catching those fluctuations in real time.
And so even though you are done losing your weight, your weight will still continue to fluctuate.
This is a conversation that we have a lot in the maintenance group right now. You chose to
solidify your weight by doing another, actually two rounds of the Libby method. Can you share
with people the difference doing the Libby method when you're losing weight versus maybe your mentality when you're looking to maintain your weight? Because a lot of people
are like, what? I don't understand how my Yeah, why would I do that?
Yeah, well, for me, like, I'm very much a type A personality. So like, when I decide to do
something, I'm all in and I do it, you know, with both feet. So when I was losing weight mode,
I followed the program very, very closely. Of course, you know, the odd, you know, with both feet. So when I was losing weight mode, I followed the program
very, very closely. Of course, you know, the odd, you know, indulgence here and there, but I really
tried to keep that few and far between. And I listened to all your lives, and I was really
involved. Whereas when I was sort of looking to solidify instead, I might, you know, let in a
little bit more in terms of, you know, making different choices once in a while. So I
wasn't as strict about it. Right. Right. Okay. So are you worried now about gaining weight back?
No, it's been a year now. So I feel completely confident now.
Okay. So four stages, the living method, lose your weight. Obviously you did that. You lost 80
pounds. I'm going to ask you your, I'm going to ask you, you know, your secret sauce is success
because I know people want to hear about that as well. So lost the weight, solidified the weight
by doing two rounds of the Libby method. How did you know when you're ready to move on to that
third stage? And you know, why didn't you do another round? Did you just feel, was it a feeling?
What was it? I felt like, well, at that point, I'd done seven programs.
I did five to lose weight, two to solidify.
So I felt like I know this program inside out and backwards.
And I felt like I was ready to just kind of move on with my life.
Like, I love you, Gina, but I didn't need to hear you every day anymore.
I enjoy being part of the maintenance group.
So I check in there as often
as I need to, but I didn't have to have, you know, the daily, um, being in the group every
single day. And what, what got you to that point though, was that, cause I mean, so many people
are like, how do you know, how do I know when I am ready to move on? Of course, that's the goal
for everybody is to move on. So how did you know? Like, was it a feeling?
Did you start to feel a certain way leading up to that point? Or was it just the end of that second?
You knew at the end of the first program to solidify, you'd need to do it again. And then
by the second, you're like, okay, I'm good. Yeah, I just felt a lot of confidence. Like,
you know, I've solidified this. I know what I'm doing. I have, you know, back on track in my back
pocket. Should I need it down the road? I just felt really confident. So yeah, it was a feeling,
a feeling of confidence that I, I know what to do. So you're, you're, you're, are you testing
the waters or are you like just living your life? Where, where are you at? I'm probably like testing
the waters right now. Um, cause I'm still do check into the maintenance group. I'm not ready to like completely move on with the rest of my life. I feel like I've got some connections still
with the community. Um, but I'm getting there. Like I really enjoy being part of the maintenance
group. And so I'm, I do want to stay in there and I'm testing the waters. Yeah. I'm going out and
enjoying my life. I'm not stressed about it. I know that, you know, if I, this past week I had a
date night with my husband and I ate
a lot and I purposely didn't weigh myself the next day.
Cause I'm like, I know, I know the scale is going to be up.
I drank extra water.
No big deal.
It just comes right back down within a couple of days.
How often do you use back on track?
Let's talk about that.
How often do you use back on track?
Whenever I feel like I need it.
I do enjoy the basic food plan because I I feel like I feel
much better physically when I'm fueling my body with those healthy choices so I do loosely follow
it I'm not obsessed about it I don't really I mean I do track but not not every day like I'm
I'm kind of at that point where I want to just move on with the rest of my life at this point but
I do I do still do you know loosely follow the basic food plan because I just feel so much better.
Okay.
So let's talk about the maintenance group.
How would you describe the maintenance group?
Yeah, I really enjoy it.
I love, you know, the way in Wednesdays and the conversations there.
I find it's a little bit, you know, more low key.
There isn't as
many posts to keep up with, but I basically check in as I feel like I need to. I'm not in there
every day, but I'm just, you know, when I feel like I would like to get a little bit more connection
with the community, I go in there and I look at some videos or comment on a few things.
Okay. What would you say to someone who is like, so what would you say about, about getting to maintenance? So someone
who maybe this is their first program they've been successful, or maybe they've done a couple,
they're not at maintenance yet, but they are concerned about it. What, what can you say to
put their mind at ease? Would it be something you would say to put your mind at ease? Or would it
be like some, like, make sure you take maintenance seriously? What would you say?
Yeah, make sure that you put the time into it. You can't just get to your goal, and then turn
around and go back to your old eating habits, because that's what got you this mess in the
first place. So I would say take it seriously. Like you need to put the time in to solidify it,
because you've made a big change in your body. So I would say, yeah, make sure you take it seriously. Like you need to put the time in to solidify it because you've made a big change in your body. So I would say, yeah, make sure you take it seriously because it is an important part
of the process. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Let's talk about your weight loss journey. Cause I won't,
I don't want people to give the impression that it was just so easy peasy for you. And that's why
it's now easy peasy in, in maintenance. So let's talk about that. 80 pounds. You have a long history of dieting, losing and gaining it back.
So what, what, what can you just talk about a bit about that experience?
Yeah.
For as long as I could remember, I was either trying to lose weight or trying to find another
diet to try to try to lose weight.
So I feel like I was always, it was always on my mind and I was always trying to figure out, you know, what can I do?
So I definitely have a long history of, you know, some success and then gaining it back.
And so that was probably 20, 25 years of that.
And so who are you now with 80 pounds lost?
Yeah, I feel like I'm, you know, somewhat of a different person.
Something that's really changed in me is that I really take exercise seriously now, whereas I
used to be, you know, a couch potato pretty much. And now I'm wanting to exercise, I enjoy it,
I look forward to it. And that is definitely something that has changed in me
because I never, I never used to be an exercise fan, but yeah, probably about halfway through
my weight loss journey is when it clicked for me. And I was having that extra energy and I was
feeling like I have to move. So I got a Peloton bike and I have not looked back. I use that Peloton
bike two to three times a week, consistently every week. It doesn't matter what's going on in my life. I schedule that in anyways. And then we recently
got a Peloton rower. So now we have two. I love it. Yeah. And how has life changed? Did life change
in weight loss or did life change in maintenance? And how has your life changed after losing 80
pounds? Oh, I would say both.
My life has definitely changed both in weight loss and maintenance.
But now that I'm in maintenance, I feel like not only do I have those, you know, physical benefits of, you know, having more energy, being able to do, you know, cool things like go hiking and go running that I never would have energy before.
But I also have a real change
in my mental outlook. Like I used to have all this brain space taken up by like, what am I going to
eat? All the scales up? Oh, I'm hitting a plateau. Why is the scale not reflecting my effort? But
now, all that's gone. I just have a sense of calm and I'm confident. And I do, you know, weigh myself
occasionally to check in to see how things are going. And if I don't like what I see, I just, I followed a food plan more closely and no stress.
So that whole brain space is just not taken up by all that negative talk anymore.
What's more work losing it or maintaining, maintaining it?
Um, I would say initially, I think like the initial maintenance period probably is
was harder for me than the actual losing okay um it's hard to say why but I think it was that
you know I've done this big big thing I've lost 80 pounds but working through all those voices in
my head that were saying but it's not going to stay. You're just going to gain
it back. How are you going to be successful at this one? So I think that initial few months
after reaching my goal were probably the hardest, but I mean, I had lots of ups and downs in my
weight loss journey too, where at times where it was really easy and times where it was really hard.
So there were times then that were also very hard. Did you keep your old clothes? What did you, what'd you do with your old clothes?
I gave most of my old clothes away.
I felt like as I was losing weight,
I didn't want them in my closet anymore as a backup plan.
I want to just get them out of the house.
So I gave them away.
I gave them all away.
I love it.
Okay, good.
Cause this is the, this is the stuff people want to know.
And how was the, the new wardrobe experience for you? Because a lot of people are like, they're excited to get to reach their goal. But then there's the reality of buying new clothes. What's that been like for you? and buy a whole new wardrobe all at the same time. I kind of have a few pieces as I'm getting smaller.
But I mean, yes, it was a lot of fun.
But yes, that is something that people need to consider
when you lose 80 pounds.
Obviously, you're going to go down quite a few sizes.
So yes, there is a cost to that.
But I mean, I think that's a benefit
to being able to buy new clothes that are smaller.
And it was a lot of fun.
Yeah.
And what about social circles?
Do people treat you differently? Have you noticed that? Um, I, that's a hard one to answer because I've always
been involved in, um, different community events and things. So I feel like I've always been
involved in things. Um, but I feel like I have more confidence within myself. So I don't know
if people are really treating me differently other than they're asking me like, how did you lose this weight? I
want to get on this. So I mean, I've shared your program far and wide. I'm sure there are lots of
people that have joined because of you know, conversations that I've had with them. So I've
definitely shared, I feel like, yeah, that that's been a really nice thing as well.
Yeah. Do you see yourself? Do you feel like a
different person or do you feel like just the same? Like, are you looking in mirrors and being
like, yeah, that's who I am? Or are you still shocked by it? Have you got, have you gotten,
it's been like, Oh, it's been what? So you did the spring summer program. So this program last year
and the fall program to solidify, so you're going to be coming up on a year. Yeah.
Has it set in yet? Are you still getting used to it?
No, it finally has. It took a while. It took a while for my brain to kind of catch up because,
you know, I was large for much of my adult life. So that's kind of how I saw myself. So initially, when I lost 80 pounds, my brain didn't really didn't it didn't really connect in my brain. But now, it definitely has. So it took
time. But now for sure, I see myself as you know, a slim, slender, athletic person. And that's who I
am now. Any other Are you surprised? Like, are you surprised at all by the things that you're
doing now or the choices that you're making? Cause I, you know, I believe that we are like
in the pursuit of change. Are you surprised? Are you getting surprised by the new you?
Oh, for sure. For sure. I took up running and like, I never used to be a runner and I'm like,
who am I? Why am I wanting to go for a run? Or I'll look forward to having my veggie snack in the afternoon. It's like, who am I? I used to eat chips all the
time. Like veggies. Like it's just funny how, yeah, like you're craving what's, what's healthy
for you. What's been the hardest part about maintaining your weight? Um, I would say the hardest part is um things like you know unexpected um celebratory meals
and vacations and you know dealing with food pushers and that kind of thing because there's
lots of there's lots of that in my life and I'm having a lot of fun as well so I think it's the
enjoying life but not going all the way off the rails.
So like I'm enjoying things.
I have fun on vacation.
I don't really pay much attention to what I'm eating.
I'm making healthy choices when I can, but I'm not going like completely out there because
I feel like that would just, because I've learned that my body is very reactive to foods
that are high in salt and things like that.
So I need to, I need to
keep on my water for sure to when I do choose to indulge to get all that salt flushed out.
Well, I find that like you talk about the celebratory days and whatnot. So once you've
lost your weight, you know, like the Christmas comes around, Thanksgiving comes around and it's
not just the food, but there can be a lot of triggers,
you know, social, emotional, you know, when we see our family or, you know, something happens in our lives or we're that situational change. So have you noticed your, is that a conscious,
like, okay, it's Thanksgiving or it's Christmas or it's whatever I need to, I need to be more mindful. Yeah, for sure. And like, the last year
has been full of ups and downs for me, like, personally, I've had a lot of stress that I've
been dealing with. So I think that has also been difficult to not go back to my old patterns of,
you know, eating my feelings. Yeah, I realize that there are other outlets that, you know, I could be exercising, or it could be, you know, meeting a friend for coffee and, you know, eating my feelings to realize that there are other outlets that,
you know, I could be exercising or it could be, you know, meeting a friend for coffee and,
you know, chatting and having a social thing and not just going straight to
food when I'm feeling not my best emotionally. Yeah. And you felt yourself going back into,
how do you recognize when you're going back into an old habit? Like, what are your cues?
How do we, how do we stop? Cause people, I think people are afraid that, well, if I'm if I can just eat what I want, I'm just going to eat what I want.
And I'm not going to notice I always say to people, we don't gain 20 pounds back without noticing.
So is it like, how do you notice? How do you know you're falling back into old habits?
I think if it's like a prolonged thing, like if I'm feeling like I want to have something that I'm craving or whatever, I allow myself to have it.
But if it's like day after day after day after day, that's when things get a little bit out of hand.
So it depends on, yeah, if it's just a one off, a treat, I feel like or whatever.
That's one thing to deal with. But if I'm, you know, day after day feeling those cravings, then I'm like, hey, wait a minute.
We got to turn this around.
So we say once you're done, you've lost your weight, you've solidified your weight, you're testing the waters and maintenance right now. And a great place to do that is in the Facebook support group.
And then you get to a place where you're ready to move on and live the Livvy way.
So what is living the Livvy way?
Are you living the Livvy way? How would you
describe that? For me, living the Livvy way means I'm not stressed about what I'm eating. I'm not
obsessed over the scale. Yeah, I used to be so it's just living your life,
making good choices. Because like I said,
like I feel better physically when I'm feeling my, my body in a healthy way.
Yeah. I'm not obsessed. I'm not stressed. I'm eating what I want when I want,
but keeping in mind that, you know, I feel better when I'm feeling my body in a healthy way.
Have you, do you still do anything? Like, do you still, I love the calm,
the calm because you know, I, so, you know,
I talk about that all the time, that calm mentally, physically,
can you describe, are you feeling that? Are you there?
I am there. I'm there. I probably wasn't there a few months ago.
Like I said, it took me a while to get there, but now I'm there.
Like I feel such an incredible sense of calm about food.
I'm not obsessed every day about, Oh, what I'm going to eat today.
I'm just, I'm just out there living my life and I feel calm about it.
And it's, it's wonderful to have that freedom to not have that rollercoaster of emotions
surrounding food anymore.
Like food is not my enemy anymore.
I can have a healthy relationship with food now.
And it's just, it's, it's incredible.
That space in your brain, all that chatter and
that noise still there, kind of there gone. Pretty much gone. Yeah. Yeah. That's great.
People want to get to where you are right now. And I know like we just had a whole half hour
conversation about it, but what would you say to somebody about who's trying to get there in terms of the time
that it's going to take or the work that people need to do to get to that calm place?
Yeah, it's gonna take as long as it takes pretty much like, if I had known at the outset that,
you know, this was going to be, you know, a two year journey, I still would have done it because like the time is going to pass anyway. So you might as well do something
productive. So like, this is something I've been wanting to do for years. Like I said, I've had a
long history in the diet industry. Yeah. So to be able to actually be successful and to finally be
able to get off that weight loss roller coaster, it's incredibly freeing. But
people need to understand that if you want to have the success, you have to put in the time and an
effort because this is not a quick fix. It's not going to happen overnight. So if you want it,
it's going to take time and it's going to take as long as it takes.
It's going to take the time. You might as well put the time in, but the time goes by fast. Yeah.
Are you reflect on the last two years have been like, wow, that went quick.
Yeah. I feel like it has gone quick, actually. I think that's partially to do with everything
else that's going on in the world, but yeah, I feel like the time did go by fast. Like it,
but I also, on the other hand, it also feels like I've been doing this a long time and I've,
I've been in this program for a really long time.
So it's kind of like a double-edged sword there.
It feels fast and slow at the same time, which is really strange.
I hear you.
Okay.
Thank you for sharing your insight on maintenance.
I do want to talk, cause I know there are members who they just like, okay, this is
great, but I want to reach my goal.
I want to lose my weight.
So what are your, what are your tips for losing weight?
Cause I know it wasn't smooth, just smooth sailing for you over five groups that
it took you to lose your weight. So, uh, what are your tips for our members for weight loss? What,
what, what are your, what are your, what are your secret sauce tips? Yeah. So one of the things that
I found really, really helpful was that I joined the program at the same time as my mom. So we both
joined at the same time. So we were each other's accountability partners. And so every morning, we would text each other with what our weigh-in
results were. And so not to like, judge or berate each other, it was more to encourage each other
so that I knew that I had to tell another human being what I weighed every day. So that would
kind of help me make better choices um so I found that very helpful so
having an accountability partner somebody that you're working through this with your cheer
cheerleader you can encourage each other so I found that really important I also found it
really helpful to drink lots of water now I know we talk about water an awful lot
and I happen to really like water but I was never really used to drinking that much water.
So to have that, you know, day after day, I'm drinking all this water and I, you know,
getting myself cool water bottles or whatever it is to make it easier or putting lemon in
it or whatever.
So yeah, drinking lots of water was definitely also played a big role in my success, as well
as learning to be okay with plateaus.
Because throughout my journey, I had a lot of plateaus, some lasting as well as learning to be okay with plateaus. Because throughout my journey,
I had a lot of plateaus, some lasting as much as like five or six weeks at a time,
which could be like, wow, trading. But if I had given up at that point, like I wouldn't have
experienced the success that I did after that. So basically, when I experienced a plateau as
frustrating as they are, I told myself, basically, I could choose to give up.
Sure, I could quit. Or I'm just going to keep plugging away and the scale is going to catch
up eventually. Because I found that the scale quite often would not reflect my effort. Like,
if I felt like I scale should be down, it wasn't. And that was really frustrating. So
that was also really, really important in my success to learn to be
okay with those plateaus because they're going to happen. What would your advice to be to somebody
who is like, I didn't get the results that I wanted and not really feeling all that motivated
for continuing their journey? Because so many people are, we've, you know, you've seen this
celebrate and inspire post, but let's talk to people who maybe are like, I don't know, man, about this Gina girl and this diet and maybe lost some,
but it seems hard. Like what, what's your, what's your,
cause I'm sure you felt like that at some point,
especially on a five, six week plateau. What would you say?
Well, I would say look within yourself and make a choice because you could
absolutely quit and go back to your old ways.
Like when I was feeling like I was getting to the point where this is not
working, I'm ready to throw in the towel. I figured, okay,
either I give up and I go where I was and I was not headed on a healthy path.
I had some health concerns in my future.
So I knew that that was not a good way for me to go
or keep plugging away because I trust Gina. I know this program works. I really believe it's
scientifically sound. So I'm just going to keep plugging away. So basically, if anyone's in that
position, they have to decide either keep plugging away and put in the effort, because the time's
going to pass anyway and see
what happens. Because most of the time I found that when those plateaus were really frustrating,
it didn't take long. And then the scale did eventually start moving again. Sometimes it
took a long time, but it does catch up eventually. It does eventually. Okay. Thinking of the time,
I only have a few more seconds with you, but let's talk about the summer break because how did you navigate the gaps in between groups? Because as you know,
we are coming to a big gap. Some people are choosing to join a Bridging the Gap group. Some
people are choosing to go on their own. What was your experience in between groups? How did you
stay on track? What was your mentality? Between groups, I did personally personalizing the plan when I could, but I also found that
the time between groups was often when I was, you know, having a vacation or whatever.
Basically, my goal for between groups was just to maintain, I didn't care about losing another
pound, I just wanted to stay where I was and start the next group, you know, close to where
I ended the last one, because, you know, life happens, and you're not going to be able to be on the program 100% all
the time. So I just had that mentality, like, I'm just going to try to just hold the line and just
see where I'm at. I love it. Can you say with confidence, are you done with the whole weight
loss, like vicious cycle? Like, do you feel 100% confident you're going to
be able to maintain moving forward? Yeah. And why, why? Because you built an amazing program,
Gina. And I know that I have what it takes to, you know, get right back on track. If things do,
you know, if the scale does start creeping up to a level where I'm like, nope, I got to do something about this. I feel like this program is exactly what I need. And I can
just follow it again. And we will just come right back down. So it's not going to be like,
all of a sudden, I turn around and oh, my gosh, I've gained 80 pounds back. That's that's not
going to happen. I'm gonna because I am weighing myself periodically. And I mean, you can feel I
mean, you feel it. Yeah, starting to go up and you can feel it. It's not a surprise.
So yeah.
Are you still seeing non-scale victories in maintenance? Do you,
are you continuing to experience non-scale victories?
Yeah. And they're more surrounded around like, you know,
my energy level and things I'm able to do physically.
Like I did a mud girl run with my daughter last month.
We did it a year ago with both my daughters.
So like I wouldn't have been able to hurl myself
over those obstacles when I was a lot bigger.
I mean, it was, and this year compared to last year
was also a big difference.
I found it much more easy physically to do it this year
versus a year ago.
So those types of things where I have, you know,
more energy, I'm able to do more athletic and cool things. So your daughters are age, I know I need to go my team's like,
wrap it up, Gina, we got to go. But I love this conversation. I think it's so inspiring. Your
daughters are 15 and 11. And your concern for them about dieting, body image, anything like that? Yeah, of course. So I feel like I'm setting a
really good example for them in terms of I'm fueling my body in a healthy way. And they see
that. So they see the choices that I'm making. So I'm really hoping that them seeing a good example
in me will then instill in them to have a healthy body image and to make healthy choices and to not have this big toxic mentality like I grew up with.
So I'm hoping that I'm setting a good example for them.
And, you know, we're doing these cool, fun, adventurous things together.
So it's a really awesome thing.
Yeah, no.
Well, no.
Well, no doubt.
I love that.
I love that you did the mud run. OK, so state of the diet industry right now, Libby method. What do you what thoughts
final thoughts? I love the Libby method, hence I did it seven times. So I think, I think we've
created an amazing program, Gina, and I, I think it's phenomenal. And I know I share it far and
wide with my with my contacts. And I share it far and wide with my contacts.
And I think you've got the future of the diet industry.
So I think you've nailed it.
Well, thank you.
I'm working on that.
And I'm not asking Christine, for those of you listening, for...
I know she's a straight up kind of gal.
And she's going to tell it like it is.
And I'm not asking that to my own horror.
And what I'm trying to do is instill confidence in you that you can get to where she is being that calm physically, being
that calm mentally, having the confidence that you have the tools in your toolbox to be able to be
able to maintain and sustain your weight, that that the ability to reflect on your journey and
understand the work that you put in and you and why it's different from any other diet
you've done. Because I know the feels about feeling like you're going to gain that weight
back even when you've lost your weight in the right way, a healthy way, are really real.
And they're really valid. Christine, thank you so much. I think it's one thing to hear from me.
It's one thing to hear from a real
member. Christine, what a rock star. So happy for you. Maintenance sounds wonderful. Yeah.
I hope that is your takeaway. Maintenance is wonderful. It's not easy peasy. It doesn't
mean that you are done your journey. This is why we have different stages to maintenance. This is
why we're working on that maintenance program. So when you hear me talk about the maintenance program,
rather than doing another round of the Livi Method weight loss program to solidify your weight, we're actually working on like a specific maintenance program where you would solidify your weight in maintenance.
So all the conversation would be geared towards maintenance.
So it'd be the same, but different.
Anyway, there's more to come on that.
Christine, thank you so much for joining me today. I was gonna say, maybe I'll see you out there on
a mud run one day. I would love to do that with my daughters. I gotta start training though.
It's no joke. Thank you so much for having me, Gina. I'm always thrilled to talk to you.
You too. All right. Well, I'm sure we'll see more Christine because we're going to bring her
back when she, you know, she's been five years, 10 years, uh, maintaining, sustaining your weight.
Absolutely adore her. Like I said, I brought her on today, not because she's been successful,
not because she's maintained her weight, but because she tells it like it is. And she's very
straight up. I hope that, um, you are inspired. I hope that you feel calm about next steps. If you
are ready for maintenance, you can join us tomorrow.
So Odette, who is the manager of the Maintenance and Mindfulness group, is going to join Kim and I for the tweak this week.
So Kim and I, we're going to talk next steps.
For those of you who are looking to continue to lose, we're going to talk about the Bridging the Gap group.
We're going to talk about all of that.
But more importantly, we're also going to talk maintenance.
For those of you who are ready for maintenance, the logistics behind it, how it all works. That's going to be tomorrow at 12 PM. Okay. Now I'm
procrastinating because that is our last spill the tea conversation of the spring summer program.
