The Livy Method Podcast - The Science of Being Happier This Summer
Episode Date: July 20, 2026Summer Club has officially begun! In this kickoff episode, Gina Livy gets into why you don't have to wait until goal weight to wear the bathing suit, be in the photos, or actually enjoy your life. She... breaks down the science of happiness, why we all have a baseline, why the lottery won't fix it, and how presence and real connection can raise it (plus the app that finally broke her scrolling habit). She also shares the story behind the 91-day program, why the plan was never meant to be followed forever, and how to use summer as the ultimate test of everything you've learned. This podcast aligns with Day one of our Summer Club, members can find video in our Livy Method app or Summer Club Community Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/livymethodspring2026 Hosted on Acast. I'm going to be honest with you, this podcast is unapologetically a hot mess because that is what midlife feels like sometimes.
Why, though?
And how do we make it better?
Do we all just need facelifts and gLP ones?
I mean, let's talk about it.
No bullshit, no wellness wangery here because we're trying to make real change and change is hard.
But we're in this together.
Welcome to the Livy Method podcast.
Hey there, before we get into our conversation today and no doubt it's going to be great, I want to remind
you that we have the most amazing weight loss program and maintenance program on the market,
and our next live session for the fall is on sale right now. But if you don't want to wait until
the fall, you can sign up today by joining our membership. For more information, go to liby method.com.
Let's go live. I was seeing a let's go live side. I don't know what it is. I am so excited about
our summer club, our summer session. Basically, summer club is our fancy name for our summer session.
I was just in the group reading all of the comments about, you know, why everyone is here.
What is their summer story?
My goodness.
Listen, summers are so short.
Like, how many summers do we have left in our lives?
I read that somewhere a couple weeks ago.
And I was like, oh, my gosh.
Like when you put it that way, especially if you live here in Canada, right?
Like our winter, this last winter was like, it was rough.
It was rough. We absolutely want to enjoy the summer. There's just like, I don't know, it seems like we're being more social. I went outside last week and there were kids playing in the neighborhood and there were other, our neighbors are like doing gardening and people were talking. And I haven't felt that vibe in such a long time where people were outside and connecting and whatnot in the neighborhood. And it was just so, it was honestly so nice.
I moved into this neighborhood about six years ago and got to know some of my neighbors and my neighbor Joy was sharing how like back in the day they used to have like, you know, I live in a cul-de-sac.
So, cul-de-sac parties and people would hang out on people's front porches.
And it's such a great time.
Whether you are doing the staycation and you're staying at home or perhaps you're doing travel somewhere or, you know, maybe you're lucky enough to have a cottage and you're heading off to the cottage.
road trips, day trips, whatever they are. We want to get out of our house and we also want to
feel really great. So, you know, for many people who carry extra weight, it can be a stressful
time of year, right? It's hot. You know, you may not want to put on those short shorts,
those sleeveless tops. We want to love ourselves right now today as we are. So that's a lot of
the work that we're doing to really be confident in your body at the size you are, right?
right now today, even though you want to make change. We don't want to wait until we reach our goal,
wait to live our lives or to show ourselves some love. So you want to love yourself right now today.
You are worthy of wearing that bathing suits right now today. We're not waiting until we have our
perfect bodies to show up in our lives. And so the summer, when you're focusing on weight loss,
so many of you are here to continue your weight journey. So many of you are here because you're on
your maintenance journey, so you want to work towards maintaining. Some of you are here because
you had, you in previous summers had gained weight and you want to make sure that doesn't happen
this time, regardless of why you are here. I'm here for you. I'm excited. I think the summer brings
a, I don't know, we're going to have fun. We're going to have fun. I'm going to be going live
as often as I possibly can. The lives are never mandatory, but I love talking about this,
so I'm here for it. I'm going to be checking in. I'm going to have some guests.
join me for some check-ins. So I'm going to be taking a little time off myself. I'll be still
checking in here and there, but I'm going to have some people joining me for some guest check-ins.
We have a whole lineup of new guest experts joining us over the summer. So tomorrow, Jeanette Ewan is going
to join us. She is, you might know her from her design days. She hosted a lot of design shows.
She's into a lifestyle, health, and wellness and fitness and on her own journey. I love her. She is
quirky and she is fun. Then we have Terry Hart joining us on Wednesday. She has a podcast
that's all about taking care of aging parents and how to how to find time in your life for you.
She's also on our own health journey. And then Hina is going to join us. She's like a life coach.
She's going to share her tips for us for making changes in our lives no matter where you are
at in your life. Yeah. So we're going to we're going to have some really great conversations at the
time. So my job is to obviously help you continue to focus.
on your weight journey. So if you're looking to do that, ideally, you want to personalize the plan.
We have a post on that in the app. So if you need to go back and review personalizing the plan
that's in there for you, you can search that up using the app. If you do not have capacity for that,
maybe you want to work the basics and just follow that basic food plan the best you possibly
can. If you are focused on maintaining, again, ideally also personalize the plan, really
digging into what maintenance looks like and feels like to you. We had a great,
conversation if you missed it with Kathleen Cameron. She is all about manifesting and she talked about,
which is very fitting for our summer club. She talked about owning the change you are making
and really looking at it from that perspective and doing everything you do with that kind of energy.
Not sort of this, oh, I'm trying to lose weight. I have to do this. I have to do that. But really
coming to love the changes that you have already made.
and the changes that you are working on making. Like, for example, I'm doing my fitness every day at
720 and I did that because I, and I know I already shared, so if you join me before my morning,
I started these 730 workouts, 20 minutes, that's it. And they were really spurred from the idea of
one, from when I went to Sherry Perez's live class that we did. And I went, it was such a great
class, but I just felt so uncomfortable and uncoordinated in my body. And I used to be really
coordinated. I used to teach classes. Like that was something that was really easy for me. And I was like,
you know what? I want to get back to that. And then her and then her workouts that she did with us
every Friday. Every Friday I would begrudgeonly do her workout. I don't know if I got to do her workout
today. And then I would do it and I would feel fantastic and it would cause me to be more active
throughout my day. And so this is our third week of doing this 730 workouts, just getting up.
Not even workouts. They're more moving your body. They're more moving your body. That's been a big game changer for me. So today I like got up. I'm tired. We had some snacks for World Cup yesterday. And we also celebrated my daughter's graduations with two cakes.
I might have had two very large pieces of both late in the evening. I definitely feeling it today. But I bounced out of bed. I was excited to move my body. And I just want to take on that attitude of like, let's get up.
Let's go. I'm excited to make change. The other day I went for a walk and then I did a meditation after. It was absolutely lovely. I am working on this summer working to be more fits and be more present and be more in the moments. I used to actively spend a lot of time doing that. And then I got kind of like just I think the pandemic and then metapause. I feel like it made me like crusty AF and edgy and just, ah, about it.
everything and I just want to be like so that's where I'm at let me get in and see if you have any
questions so we got a lot of stuff playing over the summer we got some great post my my hope for
you is you'll pop in and out as needed this will be a place for you to work towards your goals
regardless of whether you are at we got some great content we're going to be posting some great
conversations and of course we have the most amazing community so let me see if I can find this
and see where we are at and and and at all right good morning good morning good morning
i found the live yes the easiest way to find the live is connect through the app um or to go straight
into the media section if you're watching from the facebook support group uh i noticed wrinkly arms in a
pick i am only 70 sometimes friday skin looks looks better oh what's helen saying i can't see this
post from Helen. Um, same, same. Okay, I got a great cream for you. I'm actually, you know what I'm,
I talked to Sean Rice the other day and I'm like, we're going to do a whole skin series. I'm going to do a
podcast series with Sean Rice. If you missed it, he had some great tips for us. Um, but he was talking to
me about some new products on the market that are supposed to be really great for a crepey skin.
So I actually said to him like, we should do like a body skin product. Everyone's worried about
face, but what about like our actual body? In the meantime, so I'm going to introduce me to this
great product. I got it from Rev Her. I will bring it tomorrow and I will show you it's something
about bees and it's a serum. It's a Canadian company and I have been using it and let me tell
you it actually makes a difference because you know when you like you, I don't have to show you
creepy skin. You know what creepy skin looks like. I also brought my body. I also brought my body.
my mama product. It's called Rough and Bumpy from Sarah V. I find that one makes a difference too,
but we got that in the States. So it's Sarah V. It's like C-E-R-A-V, I think. It's called Rough and Bumpy,
but we got it in the States and the one that we have in Canada is not the same. So I find that one
works really well at a really good price point. This B one is like, I love it. It smells amazing and
it's super hydrating. And the epicutus is the one from Dr. Sean Rice. That one, it ate cheap.
That one's like, it's pretty expensive. I think it's like 300 bucks. However, it comes in a fairly
large bottle and will last you a couple months. So yeah, so yeah, I hear you on that one.
I hear you. I can't believe I'm still here since 2000, 22, 23. And I'm so excited about,
Yes. I mean, this is a big part of the membership, right? Like, yeah, my, my concept for 91 days
in our structured program was like that was how long I'd work with personal clients for like 12 weeks
at a time. I thought that was really effective because you could accomplish quite a bit in that
period of time and then my client could assess if they wanted to continue working with me.
And but my job while I worked with my personal clients was to try to teach them as much as I
possibly could in that time period so that they couldn't continue their journey on their own.
Like my my plan for anyone was never to follow for years and years and years. And so that was the
structure of the 91 day program was like, okay, this way people can customize it. If they can do
one, if they only need one, great. If they need 10, great. Because, you know, people have different
amounts of weight that they want to lose. People sometimes, you know, the universal lines and someone
can get it done a lot quicker than someone else based on what they got going on in their life.
Sometimes people have health issues that they need to address.
It takes them longer for whatever reason.
And that was really my, it was really when I first did my first Facebook support group.
I did it for free in 2018 as like, let me just see if I can teach this on mass.
Because I always worked with personal clients and then I had worked with like, you know, sports teams or, you know, small groups and whatnot.
And so I was like, let me just see if it would work as a takeaway.
And so that's what I'd always done was 12 weeks.
And so this is where I offered up 12 weeks.
It turned into 91 days because I added an extra week for people to prep and get ready because people were like, well, I'm not ready.
So I was like, okay, let me build in time for you to kind of like figure out what you need to do so you can hit the ground running because people love to be ready to start their diet.
So that was that.
And then it just kept evolving and more and more people signed up because people like you share and you're successful and you share with other people.
And so what I learned, though, was a couple things is that because I was so against the membership
because I'd worked in gyms where you would try to pressure sell people into signing up for a whole year.
And I just felt that was a little icky.
Jim still do that to this year.
They make you commit.
Like I get the commitment.
The commitment is good for you for a reason, but I just was like a little hesitant on that.
Because when I worked in membership sales, the goal was to sign up as many people as possible and then hope that they didn't come.
because if everybody who owned a gym membership showed up, there wouldn't be enough room in the gym for people.
But what I've come to realize, because I've learned a lot, like, I've also learned a lot over the years.
My concept of this was just share what I knew.
I became very good at helping people lose weight in a way they could maintain.
The maintaining part came because I've always lived in small towns, and I would see people who paid me good money to help them lose weight,
and I would see them, and I want to make sure when I see them again, they've been able to maintain and sustain their weight.
I put a lot into understanding how to lose weight in a way you can maintain and sustain.
And so the memberships came about because one, community is so important.
And two, the journey never stops, right?
And so this way I love the idea of the membership, but I've also loved that this becomes,
it's become more than a diet.
It's become a lifestyle.
I was so resistant to people calling it a lifestyle in the beginning.
People call it a challenge or a lifestyle.
I was so resistant because I don't want you following a plan.
for the rest of your life. So that's why I love personalizing the plan. This is yes, the yes,
there's a rhyme and a reason like we always say to everything we do with the tweaks each week, right,
help you dig deeper, level up, bring up the fields, look at, look at weight loss from a different
perspective, learn a lot about yourself. But the goal is to get you to this personalizing the plan
part. So after you've lost your way, you've maintained your weight, maybe gone through one of our
maintenance like rounds and you're just living your life, every day should look.
a little different. Some days it might look like the basic food plan. Other days, you know,
maybe you're just having your meals. Maybe you're the other day you're having a couple meals and a
couple snacks. Like that's where when I run into you, after you've lost your weight, you put some
time into maintaining. When I run into you two years from now, I don't want you to say I'm still
following a food plan. I want you to say, oh, I'm still following the principles of the living
method, making sure you're hydrated, understanding the importance of sleep, not going too long
without eating, understanding and being in tune with your portions, really understanding and
being in tune with when to eat, what to eat as well, right? Like, you know, that to be able to
easily living a life or you're enjoying all the things that come with life, including summer
and especially summer. So that's the whole concept and kind of how it's evolved now into our
membership. So what I'm really realizing now with this stage and phase that I'm in, and we've
gone through so much, the diet industry has changed so much.
The reason why I was opposed to the lifestyle was because at the time when I was, the program
was starting to get popular, diets were trying to not be diets.
So Weight Watchers had went into wellness works and Noam was saying, oh, we're something different.
And people are like, no, you're not.
You're a diet.
Just say you're a diet.
And so I didn't want to try to be anything that I wasn't.
But in reality, we've been about lifestyle all along.
And so, for example, I saw someone in the comments day, was at Marlene.
retiring, right? Like, what's going up? What is, what does your life look like now that you're
retiring? What is your life look like now that your kids have gone off to university, although
they do come back, right? What does your life look like now that you're a new mom, right? Like,
life is always changing and we need to learn how to adapt and change with it. So that's where
personalize in the plan. So the summer is a great time to test out everything that you've learned,
whether you're in the weight loss program or you're in the maintenance program. It's kind of the
opportunity to see what you got. Right. Like,
If there's some cracks, let's see the cracks.
And then it will give you great insight.
Oh, okay, maybe I need to work on this or maybe I need to work on that, you know.
So that's kind of been the evolution.
So Colleen, I'm still here too.
We're both here.
You know, this is why I'm also working on a third space.
We've all gone and done these things in this community.
And I think it's such a great community.
It would be nice to stay connected to the community.
And so a big part of why I wrote my book, Lipp Lighter, to do a big tour across Canada,
to bring our community together.
Yeah, I just think community is really important.
I think loneliness is going to be an epidemic.
So many people are lonely.
I think the pandemic really affected us.
I think we're just starting now to kind of come out of it.
At least I know I am.
I want to start getting out there and experiencing life,
even though it makes me a little nervous.
I'm always a little nervous and anxious.
But once I'm out, I love it.
Once I mode, I love it.
And we want to truly live our best lives.
We want to live our best lives.
Okay, I was going through a lot this spring.
Hi, Catherine.
So stressed, I ended up with shingles.
Yeah, that's a, tell me, tell me your stress without telling me your stress when shingles pop up.
This summer, I just want to focus on taking care of myself and getting my stress and check
and trying to make some healthy changes, like moving, losing, moving my body, trying to focus on positive things.
This is so, it's so, I was reading, it's interesting how things come.
together and you get the you receive the messages, eh? I was I was I saw a thing the other day
neural neuroplasticity your brain is meant to change and I'm really interesting in how your brain
is wired and actually this morning I was reading how your your whole identity is based out of like
habits right and food noise a lot of that is is the wiring and of your relationship with food
and the things that you constantly repeat and do along the way.
And we're trying to rewire how our body has come to function.
Anyway, there's this professor out of, I think it's Harvard or one of the big schools.
And she's run the most popular course ever.
And it's on happiness.
And what she teaches about happiness is that you cannot, it's not from things.
Right?
There's always a baseline.
You always have a baseline of happiness.
And so you, this is why you,
you can win the lottery and be really happy and then all of a sudden you're miserable and unhappy
again where money doesn't make you happy that's saying yes money allows you to do a lot of things
and be a lot less stressed in all of those things but when it comes to actually being happy
it's you can have money and then all of a sudden you come back down to just your baseline
happiness and so things don't make us happy but there are things that can increase our happiness
and one of those things is being really present in the moments and not on your phone and taking a million
photos why it's going, why, that's not being present. You know, I think about that a lot when I,
whenever I do go away on a vacation and I'm still old school, I'm still very much old school.
And I see people on their phones and I always think of what did we do before? Like what,
like, even driving, like what we, what did we do before? We just, I, Tony's always like, how do you
know where to go. I'm like, because I was raised on having GPS. He's younger than me. And so he can't
drive anywhere without GPS on his phone. And I'm like, well, I didn't have that. We would stop at gas
stations and actually talk to someone and be like, hey, I need to get to wherever. And they'd be like,
drive here, turn right there. Sometimes they would write you a little map or you bought a map,
you know. On vacation, I see people just constantly on their phones and taking photos and doing
whatever. And I'm thinking, what did we do before? We were really in the moment. We were.
We didn't, we weren't, if we were at the bus stop, we were at the bus stop and you talk to somebody,
you wouldn't be like, everyone's on their phone at the bus stop.
Like, it's really crazy.
But one of the ways you can increase your happiness is really just being really present
and taking it all in.
Another way of being happy is taking time for yourself, whatever that might be going for
a walk or whatever that is.
Connecting with people.
connecting with people and being social is another way to really truly increase our happiness
baseline. So you have a baseline and then you're working to increase your happiness baseline. So being
really present in the moment, connecting with people, finding things that bring you joy like gardening,
right, going for a walk, being in nature, just being really present, not listening to a podcast,
not taking photos. That's distracting. That's a totally different area of your brain.
when you're doing that.
It really makes a difference in terms of your happiness.
That's one of the things I'm trying to focus on.
I actually downloaded an app called Be Present.
It's free for seven days and it's $3.99 a month where it stops me from going on certain apps
and scrolling because I love being on Facebook.
I like to connect and actually get in there.
And I've been taking my scrolling time into actually connecting with members time.
I always think I'm on there for inspiration because I am.
but at the same time, I also get caught up.
And so it actually shuts down my apps and doesn't let me in.
I have to actually go and click something that says,
do you really want to do this?
And then I'll like, never mind,
which I find just after a couple of days has been really helping.
So being present is like a really big goal.
That's a big part of our issues with food, right?
We've been taught to disconnect.
We don't eat when we're hungry, sleep when we're tired,
drink when we're thirsty.
We were taught to clear everything on our plate.
We're always eating in a hurry.
We're rushing.
We're not really being mindful.
So, yeah, so being intentional, huge.
Intentional.
Intentional.
I love that.
Beauty from bees.
Yes, Darlene.
Beauty from bees, their body serum.
Amazing.
You can pick it up from Rev.
I'll put up a link.
Put up a link.
Thank you for being here today.
I woke up worried and here you are.
Hi, Wendy.
I'm here.
I'm going to be showing up.
I'm going to be here throughout this summer.
I'm going to be joined by a variety of guests.
We've got some great checkings.
We're going to do everything.
You can keep you mood of it.
Our journey does not stop.
And also my love of sharing and connecting doesn't either.
Beauty by B serum is pure gold and Canadian and all natural non-toxic.
Yeah, it's so great.
Also great.
I'll bring the label in so you guys can see it.
So yeah, I just want to say whether you're new to the program or you've been with us for a
don't let the concept of the 91 days fool you. It's just like any other thing that you're trying to do.
You have a goal. This is a place for you to learn, right? It's a place for you to specifically focus on your goals.
It's a place for you to connect. It's a place for you to create that routine. That's what I want to keep you
entertained, to keep you motivated. That's what this space is for. You know, let's, for example, they have like,
if you're a new mom, they have all sorts of mom groups that you can join about kids.
They have all sorts of business groups that you can join about business. This is a group that you're
joining to create this space to work on making these changes in your life. Right. And that's,
so don't look at that 91 days. The 91 days is just something that evolved. And, you know,
that 12 weeks is great because it's enough time to to make change in your life. I love that we can break it
down into like seasons. It's, it's almost like compartmentalizing things. We're like, okay, that was the
spring session that this was what was going on in my life. Let's turn the page and be intentional about
what I want my summer session to be. Where am I at? What do I need? What changes do I want to make?
That just changes in your food. So summer's a great time. You want to bump up your fruit intake,
decrease any of those heavier carbs, be in tune to what your body is craving and needing in the
summer, right? What do you want it?
what do you want to do? What kind of changes that you want to make? Maybe there's changes that
are specific just to the summer, right? So a place and space to do that. And I don't think there's
any shame in how long it's going to take you. People signed up for Weight Watchers. I know people
have done Weight Watchers for 20 years and didn't think anything about it. And I love that the
living method makes you think about that, right? Because you signed up, you're doing Weight Watchers
for 20 years and no disrespect, right? To Weight Watchers at all, but you did Weight Watchers for 20 years.
You just constantly looked at this thing where you're always trying to do.
to lose weight while you were just counting and weighing and measuring it was haphazard there was no rhyme or
reason to it was just eat last basically right eat less move more whatever that might be you could you know
save up all your points for one big meal or or whatever so it didn't really teach you anything and this is
no different and this is no different how long is it going to take for you to reach your goal then you
might reach one goal and decide that you want to go for a whole other goal you know right um hi melanie how
are you 91 days of maintenance and weight ended up 1.3 pounds in three months that's a huge win so happy
with that the maintenance program is so effective yes we have our members in maintenance also joining us for
the summer club as well so that's why some people are here to continue to lose some people are here
to maintain now everyone is personalized the plan what how does that work so if you are looking to lose
weight you are you are personalizing the plan with the intention to lose weight so you're also
of maximizing your efforts. You're making sure you're drinking enough water each day. You're
doubling down on those four sets of mindful eating questions. Ideally, up to you, but still tracking
your weight so you can see those ups in those downs and what's going on there, right? Everything you do
is geared towards helping the body focus on fat loss. It's everything you're doing is geared
towards helping your body release that fat. The difference in maintenance, difference in maintenance
is that someone is personalized in the plan to get to learn to trust when to eat, what to eat,
and how much to eat. They are really tuning into that. Now, they may not be weighing themselves
because they don't feel like they need to do that anymore. What they might be doing is trying
to guess their weight before they actually weigh themselves, right? It's different. The intention
in maintenance isn't to see your lowest low every day. Your intention in maintenance is to
understand what maintenance looks like and feels like to you. What's normal in terms of fluctuations.
If you eat some bread or have some pasta or have a day like yesterday and all those World Cup
Munchies that we're having, how much is my weight up today? Let me help myself get back on track,
help my weight come down. And that's that next stage. In maintenance, they are learning to trust
the when to eat, what to eat and how much to eat. In weight loss, you are learning when to eat,
what to eat and how much to eat. And that is the difference. It's all geared towards you eventually,
waking up one day, having reached your goals and being able to wake up, look good, feel good
and go about your day and just make good food choices, right? Like, I'm not checking in every day
at every single meal and snack, but I do know myself and I have a tendency when I'm what I'm into
like, focused on something to go long, here's a time without eating. So I will check in on myself
and be like, hey, how am I feeling do I need to eat? I do it every morning, right? I do do it
every morning. How am I feeling? Do I want something to eat or not? No, I'm good. Right. And so that's
where we want to get to you where you don't need math to be able to maintain and sustain your weight.
You're just so into and you also know yourself so well. You know when you're stressed that your
chips are your go-to. Right. You know when you're stressed, maybe you go long periods of time
without eating. It's kind of understanding how you, in how you, you're losing weight. You're also
understanding how not to gain that weight back. Because if you would gain the weight, you were, that was
because of the way that you were living or something happening. A lot of times we gain weight out of
trauma or whatever that might be. You gain that weight and now you are you are rewiring how your
body's come to funk. You're letting your body know, hey, we don't need that weight anymore.
And that's the difference between your body burning fat, which it does all day long, right? So your
body for fuel will burn fat. It also will burn glycogen from the foods that you're eating. That's just a
natural occurrence. The body does most of that while you're sleeping, which is why it's so
beneficial if you're trying to lose weight to not eat after dinner. And then there is helping the body
release fat. And there's a big conversation on this, especially with menopause, that you can't
like fat burn the fat off, right? This is lifestyle changes. This is helping the body release fat.
This is addressing hormones, right? This is all about managing that stress and that sleep and giving
your body good nutrient-rich foods. Give the body what it needs to help it focus on or feel like it
doesn't need that fat. And then we help it focus on fat loss by creating that environment,
right? So that's what we're doing. So that's the difference. So that's the difference.
We, a big question we have about maintenance, we talked about this with Odette in the spring
session about maintenance and how that works. So your body loves routines. So it's a very similar
routine with the tweaks each week, but the intention is completely different. And it's actually
based off these six pillars that we, that Ruth Cain and her team when she did her.
her was studying the the maintenance program. What are the commonalities between the people who were
able to actually maintain their weight versus the people that had a harder time? And what are the
things that we need to then double down on to also help everybody be able to maintain and
sustain their weight? So that's what the maintenance program is about. Could you please post the
brand names of the cream you use? So yes, it's beauty. Oh, someone already did it, Kathy. Beauty from
bees. So it's beauty. I mean, I will actually post, I will, I will post it in the group.
with a link for you. So right after this, I will go take a photo of it and I will post it in the
group for you so you can get the one that I get the one that I got. It's so great. Oh, hi, Samantha.
I have the membership and did flip to the summer club this morning, but it says I'm on day 20.
Is that a glitcher correct? No, it's no, first of all, there's no such thing as a silly question.
So today is July 20th. So the spring session, sorry, the summer, the spring session went by 91 days
because it's our regular guided program for our summer session, it goes by the day of the week.
So today is July 20th. So tomorrow when you'll open up the app, you'll see the 21st. So you do have
the option of completing the day in the app. Also, if you just kind of want to take a pop in and out
approach, you can do that as well. So it runs by the day that it actually is rather than the day
of the program. So that's the difference with our summer club. So we're going to do that in between
sessions. So for example, at the end of our fall session, because if you're on our membership,
all of the, all of the live sessions are included. And so we're also going to do a holiday
session, for example, so or a holiday club, who knows what fancy name we're going to call it.
But after the fall session, you're going to still be able to continue to use the app and
we're going to add in some content. We're going to keep things going throughout the holiday season
as well. And so that will also be run by what day of the actual day it is. So yeah, so you're
good. So you're good. So you're good. So you're good. Yeah, so it's not day 20. It's the July 20th is the date of the
is the date of the program. Oh, you guys already talking about that. Good morning. Hi, Mary Ann,
is back from four generative family reunion. So much fun. Didn't blow my eating. Okay. I love that.
Yes. Let's get out there. Enjoy summer. Let's not stress about what we're eating, but let's learn.
Right. So if you find you're indulging and you're,
feeling uncomfortable in your body, let's be like, okay, what could I do? Let's get back on track.
This is not about going away on vacation and just not, just following the pro. If you want to do that
great, if your approach is, listen, summer comes and goes, I just want to really focus on reaching my
goal and you want to be hardcore about that. I love that for you. I love that for you, right?
If you are going away and you're spending time of family and you do find yourself indulging,
remember back on track, right? That's get back to that original food plan that will help your body
calm down. Personalizing the plan is definitely being more proactive about that. Right. So that's,
that's being more proactive. That's like turning it up in terms of the of the learning,
turning it up in terms of helping the body focus on fat loss. The back on track is there for you
if you need it. So we want you to, you are going to lose your weight and reach your goal or you're
going to move on past maintenance and get to a place where you are living your life and you are
going to enjoy summers and you are going to encounter holidays, birthdays,
vacates, all of those things. So this is an opportunity to learn what you need to learn to be
able to navigate those. This is what I mean by you absolutely can enjoy the summer and still focus
on your goals as well. That's kind of like the focus, right? That's the focus. You guys buy the
cream. I love it. That's me right now. I stop taking photos and just walking and talking in nature.
I love it. But I'm not at the wanting to socialize stage yet. I hope it happens soon. But for now,
learning to enjoy life. So, so this was a big thing for me and you wouldn't know that if you go out
and meet me. Like I'm like, to get me out of the house is really difficult to go to a social
situation. Once I'm there, I'm like, oh my God, that was amazing. It's, I'm not a big fan of like
stepping out of our comfort zone in like a really aggressive way, but we have to learn to be
uncomfortable. That's one of the things that I'm learning and I'm researching is you have to learn
to be uncomfortable.
Even Dr. Beverly talk, talk to us a bit about that.
And that's kind of what you think about what this is, the summer club.
So personalizing the plan, something that you know, but something might also make you feel
a little nervous.
You're in a bit of an uncomfortable situation if you've lost weight.
Maybe you're nervous about the summer because you don't obviously want to gain that weight back,
right?
This is like, this is kind of testing that.
And so we almost need exposure therapy where we need to, we need to, we need to, we need
to make our the when we don't make ourselves go to the thing it gets harder and harder and harder
to go to the thing right and there is just it doesn't seem to be any kind of easier way to to to go
about it other than just going and then when you go you're going to realize oh yeah that wasn't so
bad and then you're more likely to go again it's actually a real thing that's happened to a lot of us
over the pandemic is that there's a there's a bit of a like being around is a very it was it was there was a lot too
it doesn't matter where how you felt about the pandemic or the war mask you didn't wear masks or whatever
the whole thing was pretty stressful and or you add a little bit of anxiety on top of that and even
anxiety that comes with menopause you add a little bit of life experience that just makes you feel like
I don't know I don't know if I want that or not um it can be quite difficult to to to get out there but
That's one of the things is that we have to create that resiliency and that connection of going.
And I notice that's one thing that people don't do anymore.
They don't commit.
Like back in the day, people would go.
You said you were going, you would go.
And I find so many people last minute just back out or they don't want to go.
And maybe they were going against their wheel, but we need to be social.
That's the other thing that we really realize.
We need to be social.
It's so important that we're social.
Being social is so important for our health and our wellness, our mindfulness.
And our happiness is so important for our happiness.
know, but I hear you. Um, I hear you. Hi, Cindy. I'm in that stage since COVID. I'm not wanting to go
out much anymore. Like my friend groups, I don't push myself either. So I'm going to make my summer
and getting out there even if it's alone. It's so important. It's so, it's honestly so important.
It's so important to get out there and be social. Um, who says? Good morning. Uh, I, is the personalized
a plan part of the membership. I see it on the app, but I'm not a member. So there's a couple
schools of camps. So there's still people still finishing out your spring session. So if that's,
you happen to watch this, you're finishing out your spring session. You can still do that. We're
giving people a bit of grace on that. You, if you don't see all the summer club and content and
information, you're probably using the app in general tracking mode. So you need to switch it over to
the summer club. Or if you're not part of the summer club, maybe you're seeing the app in
freemium mode. So if you want to reach out to our customer service.
