I'm going to be honest with you, this podcast is unapologetically a hot mess because that is what midlife feels like sometimes.
Why, though? And how do we make it better? Do we all just need facelifts and g-lp-1s? I mean, let's talk about it.
No bullshit, no wellness wankery here because we're trying to make real change and change is hard. But we're in this together.
Welcome to the Living Method podcast.
If you're looking to lose weight and you want to keep it off, you have got to check out the Living Method.
Next live session starts September 14th. Better than ever, easy to follow. We have the most incredible
community and it works. Head over to living method.com to sign out today.
I was excited before. I'm so excited now. I like I've got a big smile in my face. I'm like it's
kind of like going back to school. Okay. So weight loss is hard and that's why we have the most
incredible experts who join us every program to share their knowledge. We don't get.
get this, right? Like, people don't have access to this. Like, Dr. Beverly clinical psychologist,
I go and I meet with you and you talk about me and my issues and my problems. You help me
through that, but you don't really take hours to explain the why behind something in the concentrated
period of time that we get to in the group, which is why I love all of you. Hi.
Hello, Regina. Hi, everyone.
None of us want to cut each other off.
All right, producer Drew. I'll find out from here on out.
There you go, Drew made me nervous.
He made me nervous.
Our producer drew behind the scenes, just as we're going live, says,
just so, you know, don't talk over each other because he cuts you off.
We're all like, look.
Okay.
We'll just giggle for half of us.
Our next week, loss of maintenance session is starting on Monday.
And I love it because we do these live 91 day sessions where you can actually take a chunk of time and be like,
okay, this is what I'm focused on in this time. There is so much access to so much information out
there. How do we cut through the noise? So what I want to do is ask each of you, what do you think
the important thing to focus on is when someone is trying to lose weight or make change in their
life, given your area of expertise? Got it? Yeah? Who's going?
Who's going first? Who's going first? He wants to go first.
Elena, let's go with you. You're in. You are a sleep and stress management educator. This is your space.
Sleep plays an important role when it comes to your body being able to make change and how it affects your hormones and the choices that you're making.
And stress, I mean, we're all stressed. So what is the important thing to focus on when you're trying to lose weight and make change?
So I can speak on this as a sleep and stress management coach, but also as a liby loser, a fellow living loser, someone who's done it in the past and is doing it this fall because I need to do.
Same girl.
Same.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm talking a lot of my conversations that I'm having now with my clients isn't.
So I deal with sleep.
I deal with stress.
How to manage both.
But a lot of my conversations, I would say in the past year, especially, because I'm delving so much into.
the stress management coaching and world is what can we do throughout the day that's going to
help us sleep better at night. So a lot of it is moving our body, making great nutritional choices,
all of those things are so important. But a big part of it is also like allowing us to rest.
And when I say rest, I don't mean sleep because sleep doesn't necessarily equal rest.
but how can we look at physical rest, emotional rest, mental rest, societal rest.
Our brains are so busy with so many things.
I mean, we are probably, September to me is the new year, more so than January.
I love that, though.
Yeah, we are just in such a busy stage.
A lot of us now are getting back at it, getting back into routine.
We're shipping our kids off to school.
You know, there's just a lot.
Our brains are so busy.
That doesn't help with our stress.
that doesn't help with following plans like we're going into with the new fall plan.
So just allowing us to make one choice, one choice per day of what can I do to allow myself to rest?
So maybe it's auditing my social media.
Maybe it's learning to say no.
A big part of my conversation is learning to let it go and learning to say no if you are a yes person.
So little changes like that that doesn't even dive into like a great bedtime routine,
a great sleep environment.
Yeah.
I love that you said that, right?
Because what I don't want is give people more, like a laundry list of to-dos, right?
Like, I'm actually going to streamline a lot of the content because, you know, it occurred to me, like our last program, we had 110 posts in prep week.
Dana makes this.
We never really have Dina on.
Like, Dina, tell us how to not feel overwhelmed.
And then here's 100 posts in the first week of the program before we start.
So we're going to streamline the focus.
So I love that.
You're like before you get into your moving your whole bedroom around and your whole
bedtime routine or, you know, starting meditation classes, you know, because you're
so stressed out.
There are little things you can do.
I'm going to move.
I'm going to move on to you, Dina.
That's a good segue into you because maybe people are unlearning or, you know, re-learning
or learning anything.
They need to make changes in their life if they want to make change and changes that are
sustainable.
Right.
So how do we do that?
Because a lot of people carry guilt and shame and maybe this is where Dina comes, Beverly comes in.
We got a lot of feels.
You know, we have a lot going on in our lives.
How do we make space and time to focus on this goal?
Well, first of all, hi.
Hi.
It's nice to see everyone.
Hi to the community of new folks.
Hi to the community of returning folks.
It is a joy always to like.
party in this way together.
You know, first of all, you got to, you have to read the, like, Living Method program guide.
And then, you know, that's just going to be our sleep at night.
Welcome to the Living Method by Dina Carosha.
It's true.
I wrote a book on, like, how to do school better, and I'm pretty sure it just functions as a sleep
aid.
So, all right, I'll, like, try to liven it up a little bit.
John is, everyone.
I don't.
Never change.
Never change.
You bring the calm.
You bring the calm.
I love it.
That's a good thing.
Life is.
chaotic enough. So, okay, I'm a learning strategist and, you know, if you're like, say what,
what you do in here, Dina? Fair question. My approach here is to first of all,
honor, when you're like, I had 110 posts. So most generous interpretation, Gina, is you're
being helpful. You're trying to get people going. You're trying to reach the ones who are like
Keener's A plus. I'm already want to jump onto week 11. And you're
trying to catch people who are like, oh, why did I sign up? This is like, you're, you're trying to
catch everyone. Yeah, yeah. Across the ages, across the context. So I just see the well-meaningness of that.
Streamlining beautiful. But underneath that is such a desire to help and to help everyone.
So my suggestion is there are many ways to access your program. There are many things you can do
within it. But that's not because you're expecting people to do all of them.
True. Yeah. I believe it is your belief that if I put out a lot of options, a lot of different
ways to access, then that will reach each person. So it's not everything for all people. It's
that there's something for each person. Yeah. So if you don't know yourself, Dina,
like, and don't know where to start with all of it, right? Like, if you know how you learn,
You absorb. That's one thing. But if you're someone coming in and you don't really know, like, I signed up for, like, I'm going back to school.
What? What? Guys, I had a type of writer when I was last in university. You know what I'm saying? Goal didn't exist. But I digress. Okay, sorry, Dina. Thank you.
Well, just, so how do we do it, right? So most people don't know how they learn. And then we're taught, like, fake things like learning styles. I'm really sorry to break it to everyone. Like, that's just not a thing. That's a myth.
So I come from a world where lots of people have ADHD, have diagnoses who don't but suspect, who are like, there's some things going on.
And life things that don't get a diagnosis, but just make learning hard.
You don't get a diagnosis of perimenopause and you're like, oh, I get like extra time now on tests.
There's like the full arc of being a human, which can make learning difficult, right?
And so my approach then is what is the minimum viable momentum?
Like what is the smallest thing that feels the most easeful for you to get started?
Knowing that you don't have to do everything.
Yeah.
Right?
So in my world, it has to do with studying or like, how do we start first year well?
But here it's the same principles.
How do I prevent overwhelm from day one, which is I don't try to do everything to
the land is exact point, I'm going to do one. And how is it going to work in alignment with how my day
functions, with how my brain functions, with when I'm sharpest, with when I'm likeliest to be able to
kind of to do what you're asking us to do. So try not to do everything. Try to find just the one
and do that based on resonance on what feels like a relief, what feels uplifting, what feels hopeful,
what feels easeful within your day, because I honor that most people are coming here with
days that are full and complex and layered.
And this doesn't actually need to be another complicated layer.
May this actually be the sweetest part of your day.
May engaging with your program feel easeful because it can be.
Yeah, that's good.
You also want to find joy in it and get excited about making the change.
You know, Dr. Link, I was going to go to you because the hormone conversation is so overwhelming right now.
There's a lot going on.
But I'm actually going to go to Dr. Beverly because people are coming in with their own individual experiences.
So we have people who are crushing it.
They're down.
They're so confident.
They're excited.
Then we get people who maybe tried the program before and feel like they failed because they didn't accomplish their goal, even though they may have done all these other amazing things.
We have new people who are maybe excited but nervous.
We have people who from day one will already feel like they have failed.
How do we sign up for this 91 day block of time and continue to show up,
especially when we're feeling like we failed or we can't do everything or, you know,
it's never enough.
I know that's a super loaded question.
The psychology part of it is huge.
Huge, huge.
Humans are psychology.
And to remind everybody how just an easy way of thinking about psychology,
apart from the sort of bit behind the computer screen,
but what we're trying to do and what I hope and how I believe people get more successful in this program
and any endeavour in their life is to slow down and to start noticing these particular parts of a human,
what are our thoughts?
What are we thinking?
And thinking and our thoughts are very different to our feelings.
So we want to get better at discerning the difference to think, okay, I, you know, when I'll say, well, what happened with?
Okay, they might say, well, I was feeling really angry and I was feeling really worried.
I felt really disappointed.
I'm like, you know, that's a feeling.
Okay, so a feeling is often one word or a shorter word or a shorter sentence.
thoughts are often a sentence. So I did this and I did that and then this happened and then that
happened. So we want to be able to catch our thoughts. How are we thinking today? Are we thinking
that we're going to succeed? Are we thinking that we're excited to engage in the program? Are we
already thinking that we failed? And how does that make us feel? Are we disappointed? Are we eager? Are we
excited? Are we all of those things? And then our behaviors, psychology is a lot to do.
do with what we do and what we don't do. So behaviors are both. And we're going to be helping you
look at these thoughts and feelings and these behaviors and how they collide with our body.
Because we will repeat this over and over again. And it's so nice. You don't need to be
perfect. And that's the first thing about this program. And Gina and the team will help you to
remember. You don't need to be perfect, but you do need to be curious. And that's my
invitation to already be different, to be thinking, I'm going to be curious about how I think,
I'm going to be curious about how I feel, I'm going to be curious about what I do, because we're
not always motivated.
We can't.
It's how do we respond to that?
How do we do stuff, even when we're not?
And how do we get out of these loops of, I failed, I've blown it, I'm going to eat the 12
packet of donuts or whatever it is?
It's just about slowing down, pausing, and thinking, and you know I love the acronyms,
but the three ends are good. Name it, normalize it, navigate it, name what's happening.
I feel out of my depth or I feel something. I'm thinking this. Normalize it. Of course I am.
Who's fucking phone is that?
I'm sorry. Are you shitting me right now?
You can't fire an ominous.
I'm fired.
You didn't pick up a lot on.
That I'm fired.
Excuse me.
Pick up the phone.
I'm trying to click.
Paul.
Is that you?
My daughter.
She's at university.
Okay.
Does she need a learning strategy?
She's, is it class?
Tina knows her.
Is she okay?
Does she have a lot of feels?
Is it one word or is she okay?
Yeah.
That's be honest.
He's fine.
Oh, that was quick. Paul, you're very funny. Anyway, so psychology is all of that. And so from the get-go,
I want everybody to replace judgment with curiosity. Oh, that's good. To put your noticing glasses on.
I want you to start being a detective so that you know the difference. So when we talk about sleep
and hormones and stress, I want you to be thinking, what happened today when I didn't sleep? What happened today when I
did sleep. What happened today when I felt less stress? You know, so we want to be noticing
how does it help if I use one of Dina's strategies to make these small single steps forward,
how does that change my day as opposed to piling it on? So stay curious. We'll teach you more
bit by bit as the weeks go along. I love that. Curiosity over judgment. I just want to say everyone
who's watching or listening today. This is not like, if you're making no, furious notes like me.
You don't have to absorb all this today. This is just like a sit back, get to know our guest
experts, you know, like maybe some thoughts or feels pop up. They're all going to be back and they're
going to be sharing their information with us. So there's no takeaway. Well, there's probably good
takeaways, but there's no, there's no, I'm actually going to ask you for some to do. So I digress.
Okay. Who wants to go next? Dr. Linka? Paul.
Blanca, go ahead.
I'll take up.
Yeah.
Okay, hormone queen, because honest to goodness, this comp, you must be just in your element
because this conversation, it's so exciting because you take back,
my conversations with weight loss 10 years ago, no one was talking hormones, right?
Five years ago, we're starting to talk about cortisol, insulin, whatever,
and now we're understanding, step back, big picture, stress hormones, sleep hormones,
like sex hormones, GL1s, like there's so much going on.
It's so fucking noisy out there.
how do we know what's up and how do we know I know you're going to be on the program you're going to be
walking us through but really how do we cut through that noise yeah you know I think it's so interesting
because in like Dr. Paul and I are kind of like the business of prevention right we're in the
business of like how do we balance a perfect system that's out of whack right because your body
is the most perfect machine in the world and like how do we bring
bring it back to doing what it's supposed to be doing, right?
And I think that so many of us don't change until we no longer have the luxury of not wanting
to change.
Because all of us, at some point in our lives, we take our health for granted.
And it's the stress test, right?
It's like pregnancy or it is perimenopause or postmenopause that force you to a lot of the
times change even if you don't want to because things go out of wax.
naturally, right? Because there's things that are like your hormones are getting crazy or stress
is going crazy or whatever. And so a lot of people come to Dr. Paul and I and are like, okay,
what is the one supplement? What is the one test that I need to make? Like what is the one thing that I
need to do? And unfortunately for all of us, there isn't like a single thing, right? It is all of these
tiny little changes that we make, that we're teaching you through this program. It is about your
sleep. It is about feeding yourself properly. It is about, you know, taking off a lot of that
pressure on an already overloaded system that was not meant to live with the, you know,
stress of 2026. And it's all of those things that actually bring your body back into balance.
It's not a supplement. In medications are great and supplements are great, but they're not the
foundation of what creates balance in your system. And so when somebody starts a program like this,
And they're like, okay, but I'm going to take all the supplements.
And we talk about all of these things.
And they expect that that's what's going to be the magic.
That's actually not the magic.
The magic is all of the things that you put into it every single day
and how you show up, even when you're tired, even when you're drained,
even when you don't want to show up with a curiosity of like, okay, you know what?
I showed up today.
And like the only thing I can give because I'm already so overloaded is I'm going to drink my water.
And sometimes it's like that quiet rewiring of your brain that creates so much more of that impact
because we're taught to be so hard on ourselves and follow these diets and take all of these things
and like, you know, search for these magic, massive answers that sometimes don't exist.
It's in like the simplest things that actually bring us back into who we are.
And in the version of ourselves that we've always been, that we just kind of like lost along the way.
And so I always say that, but I think there's so much that can change in 91 days.
And there's so little that can change in 91 days.
And the power is all on how much you put into it because what you put into it is what you're going to get out of it.
For sure.
Yeah.
And sometimes you don't have everything to put into it.
And that's okay.
Do what you can.
You just said something that was like so brilliant there, at least visually for me, because if you can see yourself, if I,
can see myself as perfect.
And then I'm like, okay, what is out of whack, right?
What's out of whack for me?
Like my strength and flexibility is out of whack, right?
I can barely lift my coffee mug.
I need to build my muscle, right?
I, my stress is like over here and it's like all consuming to the point.
I can't even make sentences by the end of the day, right?
My sleep is like so fucked up because I drank a bottle of wine before a bet.
I actually didn't.
But you know what I'm saying?
Like, if you can, when we say, you.
have to figure out what you need to work on and do, where do you even start when you can just
seem like such a hot mess that, oh, my God, there's so many things I need to do.
But if you can see yourself as perfect and then what's out of whack?
Sometimes it's just like doing something little about each one or maybe focusing on one at a time.
I mean, I guess this is where, you know, Dina comes in and shares advice, but I love that visual.
See yourself as perfect.
and then what's out of whack?
Is it just me?
Yeah, bring it back.
No, and you know what?
And I think that that's, in Dr. Paul,
would probably agree with this,
but it's like your hormones,
a lot of the time go crazy
because everything else is out of whack.
It's not because, I mean, there are conditions
in which your body's overproducing
or underproducing where the vast majority of us.
That's actually what throws your hormones out of whack, right?
It's not just like that you have a, you know,
healthy hormone pill deficiency.
You don't have that.
It's actually that your sleep is wonky.
And like you're underfeeding yourself or you're over-exercising or you're doing these things.
And that's actually what's out of whack.
And I think that that's hopefully what will teach you through this program.
It's bringing you back into balance with all of those small efforts that are going to give you that consistent balance.
Not just for 901 days like forever.
Yeah.
Right.
Well, that's, yeah.
Right.
Like that's why you're, we do 91 days break it down in chunks of time.
But you want to keep following until you reach your both.
I do want to say too that that.
what I love about all of you is you provide that like that foundation for us. We are going to have
menopause doctors join us and obesity medicine specialists join us and personal trainers and
you know, um, you know, some experts that are going to build on this conversation, but this
really is foundational. Speaking of foundational or OG expert around here, Dr. Paul, you, you know,
you started with supplements. Oh my goodness. That space is just going off like crazy because now you can get like
a supplement and a peptide and it all these things. It's just,
you know, we don't even know where to start.
So, I mean, you've been with us for a long time.
We're getting old at this point.
Six years.
It's crazy.
Your thoughts on.
Yeah.
You know, kind of going after the four of you ladies and obviously all your insights, Gina.
You know, as I was writing things down, I'm, you know, Dr. Beverly says something.
I have to scratch it out.
I was going to talk about curiosity.
And then, you know, Dr. Lincoln, you know, everyone.
is hitting on all some of the most important things.
And so, you know, maybe if I could act like a bit of a summary and a bit of kind of like tying
all the amazing things that everyone's shared up.
Please.
Is that, you know, my perspective is because I've been around in this program helping people
that are members of the program in my private practice for over six years.
The perspective that I have is that there are people that can benefit from the things that
are being shared from all walks of life.
So no matter how messed up you feel and how stressed out and dysfunctional you feel,
there is something that's in the program that can help you.
Now, one beautiful part that I've noticed over the years is that we come to the table,
like today you're listening to this,
maybe just about to start this program and you're like, wow, you know,
like I have hormonal issues, I'm overweight.
my doctor said I have endometriosis and fill in the blank all the x, y and z.
But just focusing on hydrating and eating whole foods and all the other simple foundational things
that are talked about in the program is going to help you untangle a lot of the things that
you feel are just beyond your ability to manage.
And that's the beauty I think about going to.
a program that isn't about bells and whistles.
That was one of the things that really attracted me to the program initially,
Gina,
where it wasn't like,
hey,
you have to eat these special supplements and take these special shakes
and come to my clinic and do injections every single week
because if you miss that B12,
you're not going to get the full note.
There was no gimmicks.
It's about foundations.
And so I've just observed people that have gone to the program.
They said,
listen, I had all these hot flashes.
I was going through perimenopause.
I was a hot mess and I just followed the steps one day after another and my hot flashes went away.
I didn't have to even take hormones.
I didn't even have to take a GLP1.
You are going to be blown away by some of the things that you may achieve this 91 days.
So I think that, you know, my message is, yes, you want to be curious.
I've been quoted.
I think in the intro I always say, get curious.
That's my little intro thing that everyone says.
I often say is, you know, part of this process is rebuilding trust with your body, which we've lost over the years.
Yeah.
Through external circumstances, through what we may consider, you know, health challenges, we've kind of eroded that trust in our body.
And as a naturopatic doctor, like Dr. Olinka said, the default mode is that your body knows its optimal health, it's optimal set points.
And we just have to get the hell out of the way off.
And that is just feeding it right.
That's resting it correctly.
Just like Atlanta mentioned, that's moving it correctly.
And you're going to be blown away by some of the potential changes.
Now, as for me, my little lane is that I kind of really unravel complex situations.
That's my kind of like jam and practice.
I deal with neurological cases and hormones.
And as NDs, we have to unwrap all of that.
because it's not just a, I'm a cardiologist and just do with your heart.
That's actually a very side approach.
So I really need an evidence-based approach to do not, you know.
Echo, echo.
It's a natural instinct.
You know what's interesting is I was kind of just looking at the comments.
And here's one.
I was recently told that I'm insulin resistant.
I do remember Dr. Paul, like the whole program's based on, on,
on insulin, really, at the end of the day.
And I used to always talk about insulin.
And then people were like, oh, that's so pseudoscience.
That insulin resistance isn't a real thing.
And so that I removed it from everything.
And now here's the conversation.
It's such a, I love this conversation, by the way, Lynn.
I was recently told that I am insulin resistant,
and that's likely why I'm struggling to lose weight despite my efforts.
My ND recommended putting my body into a calorie deficit to get the scale moving.
would like to hear if Dr. Paul and Dr. O have any thoughts on this?
I mean, yet so many.
This is so complicated.
First of all, calorie deficit, right?
Like, no one's saying that you don't have to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight,
but a calorie is not a calorie.
The calories and the nutrients you get from 200 calories versus of eggs
versus 200 calories of cookies is completely different in terms of what your body does
with those calories, right?
people when it comes eating six times a day oh i can't do that it's going to spike my insulin yeah if you're
eating garbage but if you're eating good nutrient rich foods and smaller portions spread throughout the
day that can actually help although at the end of the day it's about actually eating in tune to your
body's needs this is so loaded the hormone conversation the sleep conversation the stress
conversation the like can you just kind of because this is what people are dealing with which is
why i love it such a this is why weight loss is so hard where would you even start with this
right? Are you kicking back to me? Well, all of you really because this is like this is a big thing
feeling like you don't know what's going on with your body where you start. Sleep plays a role
in cortisol and insulin. Dr. Olinger, you got hormone conversation, Dr. Paul. You know, it's big.
So give us an example of someone coming in having this concern and question. What would you say about
the Libby method maybe? Maybe that's the question. Yeah, I'll just, I'll just take it because I'm sure
other people have thoughts. The answer is very simple, in my opinion, Gina. It's, don't overthink it and
just do one foot in front of the other. What's the goal for this day? What is Gina talking about?
Okay, let me just try to see if I can implement an aspect of that. If I can do the full thing.
Just very simple. Don't think about, oh my gosh, I got to figure out my hormones now. And, you know,
as you go through the program, and I love that you're simplifying it, Gina, because I do agree,
and I ran my energy reset program.
I had the same feedback.
They said amazing information,
but it's just like, whoa, like, that's a lot.
We want to rob people in an information hug.
Here's everything that I know.
Exactly.
No, no.
And it's about creating a digestible, stepwise thing that you can do.
And so that's my simple takeaway is that don't overthink it.
One day in front of the other and just all the things that everyone else said,
really send around psychology,
which is having a curious mindset, being ready to kind of reconnect with your body about being
observant of the signals or thoughts that you're having.
And ultimately, this is a mindfulness program.
I've said it a hundred times on it.
It's helping people reconnect with the signals around eating, the signals around satiety,
the signals around, you know, food choices and emotional eating.
that's massive.
And you will process that one day at a time.
So don't overthink it.
Keep it simple.
Sweetheart.
Yeah.
And listen,
if you want to count calories,
yeah,
if you want to count calories,
count calories.
Like no one's saying you can't.
It's just like that's not a sustainable way
to count and do math for the rest of your life.
I see you all nodding your head.
What are you guys all like please?
Atlanta.
So as,
you know,
I'm going to again,
speak to this as a fellow Libby loser.
I took this program years and years and years ago.
and, you know, have taken it again in the past. And I'm 49. I'm in that perimenopause stage,
as is a lot of my friends and people around me. And a big conversation right now is hormones and a
big conversation right now are GLP-1s. And just this past weekend, the stress that I felt,
because I'm not on either, the stress and not because I'm not against it or anything, I just,
I haven't hit that stage yet. And the stress that I felt about,
not doing these things because, you know, my body is feeling how my body is feeling F-49.
Like Dr. Linka said, you know, I'm feeling the changes and feeling what I'm going through.
And suddenly I was so stressed out because everyone around me is on the GLP-1s.
And I'm like, do I need to be on a GLP-1?
So I say, you know what?
That I'm back.
When I feel my best is when I am on your program.
And I've said this to you personally.
I've said this to you on here.
When I was going through my divorce, your program is what saved me.
because that was the one thing that I could control in my life.
And I never felt better physically, maybe not mentally because I was going through a divorce.
I never felt better physically than when going through that program.
I now, because I've been on your program and I know your program, I've been doing it already for a week.
I took a little bit of a jump start.
In two days, I've already feel my body's like, okay, yeah, this is what works.
Like, you know, again, going back to what Dr. Paul said, it's like your body just knows we've got to get out of our own body's way.
and just be like, yeah, this is what works.
I already feel better.
And I'm not saying that that's how everyone's going to feel by two days into the program,
but I can see the difference already.
So that's just me kind of tuning your program because you know, it's a bit.
I love it.
It's kind of like get healthy 101 and then layer it on top.
If you are doing hormones, GLP1s, you're very welcome.
The Libby methods of great compliments that.
Dr. Link, I see you nodding your head.
Yeah, you know what? I always use this analogy about how we're all like little onions. And if we go back to what I said before, so like the core of that onion is your more most balanced perfect state. I want you to think about all of the things, all of the noise, the stress, the, you know, the sleep, all of the issues that you have is like peeling back one layer. And so all you have to work on is like the first layer. And that might be sleep, right? And once you have that down and you peel that, then you work on the
movement piece and then you work on the this piece and you're slowly uncovering and peeling back
all of the layers that you've built up to get back to that core of who you are. And even when we're
talking about insulin resistance, right? Like that's actually why it's so complicated because there's
so many layers to it. Maybe if you are diabetic, a type one diabetic and you were born needing
insulin, that's very different. But for the vast majority of us, insulin resistance happens because
of stress because we lost muscle mass, because perimenopause, because, because, because, because, because, because,
and through this program, what we're going to do is, like, slowly peel back the layers
so that you can actually uncover, like, okay, what is the cause of my insulin resistance?
Because honestly, the cold's note of this is that you can go into a caloric deficit,
but if you're not actually fixing your sleep and adding in the muscle mass in, like, doing this and
doing that, like the caloric deficit, all is going to do is maybe you'll lose
5, 10 pounds because you're in a caloric deficit, that's going to be maybe your new set point,
but the insulin resistance, it's not going away. And then that means that you're not going to be
able to lose weight. And so what's going to happen? Are you going to reduce it to 500 calories?
And then 300 and then just water for the rest of your life. And so this is actually why feeling back
the layers to get back to who you are is so important, right? We're just giving you the tools.
And even when you come back to somebody like Dr. Paul and I, you know, if you've done this program,
it's so much easier for us to be like, oh, this is what's happening because you've already done this sleep and you've already done this. If you've already done that, it's so much easier for us to see a clear picture and say to you like, oh, this is what's going to help you. This is what's happening, right? Because we don't have all of the noise of everything in your life being chaos. And like, all of us are fucking chaos. This is why more and more doctors are recommending the living method because of the foundational stuff. Because like, oh, you're already trying to get better.
our sleep. You're already managing your sister. Already moving your body. You're already considering
that the mental part of this. Okay, for the sake of time I'm wrapping this up, I want to talk,
which is absolutely brilliant. We don't just want to help people lose weight. We want them to make
real change so they can maintain and sustain their weight. Dina. Gina, I have no, it's okay.
Okay, go, go, go, go. Gina.
Look, we're going to round table. I thought we were handling. Like, what is it? Okay, go. Okay, go.
Okay, go, go. I was going to throw in motivation, but I'm sure you're going to go there.
So I want to talk about that too.
Gina, let's go.
That's unfair.
Gina.
All I wanted to say, Gina, was that it feels like an issue of prioritization to me.
That's what I, that's how I hear.
That's my lens.
And we are often the very last person and task on our list.
And your program is an invitation for us to foreground ourselves, like our sleep.
and our movement and the food we eat and whether or not we're hydrating and how we are going about
reflection or contemplation, connection with others.
I mean, this extraordinary community.
And on a very busy day and a very busy week and a very busy month and season,
many of those things get pushed off to the side.
We think it takes away.
I don't have time.
I don't have time to make a meal that feels healthful for myself.
I don't have time.
to connect with other people.
I just have to keep going.
I don't have time to move.
And then we can feel the impact on body.
We can feel the impact on sleep.
We can feel the impact on outlook, motivation.
And what your program, I'm listening to, Lenn,
I also was a livy loser and thinking that is when I have felt best,
when I have had in a sort of structured, facilitated way,
when I'm drinking the water and I'm following your very thoughtful, like eating prompts,
when I'm following your like reflection provocations.
Because otherwise, like so many, I don't make time for that.
Right?
We race through our days.
We have so many people and things we take care of.
A home, our finances, our future.
There's so many elements in each of our days across the ages, across the journeys.
And so I think your program is an invitation to not put our,
ourselves last on our own lists. And that's what feels good. It's not the weight loss part of it.
It's what feels good. And we can go on and on. And it's necessary. Like we can't pour from an
empty cup. Like there's so many things that we can talk about why that's essential. But as a starting
place. So when I'm working with students, it will be like glued to the, no, I can't, I can't. I can't move.
I can't go to bed on time. I can't. All of those things subtract minutes. But they don't realize is that to
move to connect with others, to eat in nutrient dense ways, are additive to their energy,
are additive to their motivation.
Yeah.
And so for me, this is a prioritization program.
Love it.
Dr. B, this gives you the last word.
No pressure.
Yeah.
Dr. B.
It's all up to you.
What's that?
What's a takeaway?
You know, everyone's listening.
They're taking bits and pieces.
They're excited.
They're nervous or whatever.
They've got their one word feeling.
maybe they got some, you know, some thoughts and sentences going through.
What's the takeaway for everyone listening today?
Well, I'm overwhelmed today.
That was a lot.
So if anybody's feeling overwhelmed, like if I was hearing this for the first time,
even though everybody's so reassuring, I'm flooded.
So I really liked how Dina slowed it down.
Like when I listen to Dina's voice, she grounds me.
When she reminds me to put myself first and see where am I on that priority list, that is calming.
So listen back to this today.
And if you felt overwhelmed, like I felt overwhelmed, listen a little bit.
Like at the beginning, we were saying, what is the motive for this?
This is to share all of the hopefulness and the guidance that you're going to get.
But ultimately, it's telling you to take one step at a time and that you are going to learn something about yourself.
And try not to take yourself out of this game and think I can't because I loved it when Paul was describing.
how we would think, you know, it's not going to work for me.
I'm too complicated.
It's not going to work for me.
They haven't seen this mess I carry in my backpack.
But it's for everybody.
And so really slow down and really think it is one day at a time, like Paul said.
And it isn't hard.
That's why I love it because it really is taking it back to the basics, allowing your body to trust you again,
allowing you to enjoy food, look after your body,
enjoy your family and movement.
It's really lovely.
So stay on the bus and move to the front
and drive it yourself.
And just begin with water.
It's something that we often take for granted,
but just begin there.
Yeah.
But it was, yeah.
You know, we all just have so much.
passion, right? Like I do this. All this information came about me wanting to offer amazing value and give
more and more and help and help and help and help. We are all passionate about what we do and this is
where I really love to stay in my lane when it comes to what I do. I'm really just motivating people here at the
end of the day to continue to show up and bringing in incredible experts like you who are so freely
sharing your knowledge. All of our conversations before we go today are about awareness. It's not
walking away with a to-do list, it's really just learning more about yourself. I promise you,
if you sign up and you're watching this day, you know nothing about the living method, we're going to
make it as easy as possible. We want it to be easy. We want it to fit into your life so you can make
real changes, not for it to be all consuming or any of that. Okay, I, we got to go. We got to go.
But all of these guests, what I'm going to do is pod on the podcast and link here is where you can
follow them on social media where they shared tips, check out their websites, learn a little bit
more about them. We're also going to be sending out an email each week, our newsletter, keeping
you up to date what they have going on, because each of them respectively have got really cool things
that they offer. So if you want to check that out, books that they have done, all of that.
So thank you. Thank you for everyone who's joining us live. Thank you for everyone listening
Aft, and thank you, my guess. I'm so excited. It's like back to school without the school
in the homework. There's no homework.
There's a little bit of homework.
Okay, there's a little bit.
There's a little bit of homework.
I'm still on my coffee.
I'm stuck.
I did go to the gym this morning, feeling pretty good.
My son and I went to the gym, so I got that.
Thank you.
I adore you all.
I especially love your passion for helping people, which is why you're here at the end of the day.
So thanks.
We'll see you soon.
Bye, everybody.
We'll talk to you soon.
Bye, bye.
