Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm going to be honest with you, this podcast is unapologetically a hot mess because that is what midlife feels like sometimes. Why, though? And how do we make it better? Do we all just need facelifts and JLP ones? I mean, let's talk about it. No bullshit, no wellness wankery here because we're trying to make real change and change is hard. But we're in this together. Welcome to the Living Method podcast. I am so fired up. So fired up. Let me tell you, you have come across the best weight loss program on the market. There is nothing else that even comes close to what we offer you. The Living Method hands down the best diet ever on the planet. Yeah, I am clearly making that statement.
Starting point is 00:00:48 You want to know why I'm saying this is there's no context to anything out there. First of all, everyone's trying to sell you something. Of course, yes, I have a weight loss program, maintenance program, life-changing program that I'm trying to sell you for 66 fucking cents a day. First of all, do I run a successful business? Absolutely. But am I here to truly help you? Yes, because I've been where you are. I lost over 100 pounds myself. I've been able to maintain it for over 30 years. And for the life of me, I can't figure out why other people can't because no one's trying to help you do that. No one is trying to help you maintain and sustain your weight. You want to know why? Because they don't make any fucking money.
Starting point is 00:01:27 I actually just met with a couple brilliant ladies for lunch the other day. And one of them is like, I got to tell you, your program is life-changing. It has changed my life. I've lost weight. I feel better, like all of these amazing things. And then in the next breath, I was saying, you know, we had this new membership service, but women are canceling. Like, it's so cheap for what you get yet.
Starting point is 00:01:52 They're canceling because, you know, it's not the right time or whatever. And the woman I was speaking to who told me her program was life changing, she was like, I canceled my membership. I'm like, why? Why would you do that? She's like, Gina, I feel fantastic. I feel like I'm good. Like, I've done the work. I've lost the weight. I've maintained the weight. I feel amazing. And I'm like, well, shit, how am I supposed to make money now? She's like, I'll buy your new Indigo book. I'll come to your conferences. I'll come to whatever. She's like, I want to be part of this community. Like, and, and I'm, and I'm, and I'm, I was like, yeah, that's exactly what I set out to do here. I set out to help people lose weight in a way they can maintain so you can go and live your life. Nobody else. Nobody else wants to do that for you. And then it got me thinking about our guest experts and all the content. So a lot of times people like, oh, this is so much information. I'm like, isn't it fucking amazing? But people feel overwhelmed, right? And the overwhelm really is the pressure that we're putting on ourselves. where else
Starting point is 00:02:54 where else do you get the information with the context that you need without paying an arm and a leg for it i'm going to start charging at least three thousand dollars a month for this program so so here's where i'm going with that yesterday i saw a comment on the conversation i had with food addiction experts sandra alia and someone's like oh yeah you know i've been able to change my my food noise and it's been amazing and another person member came up and said how did you do that you do it? by doing the program. The reason why I got Sandra to come in here and talk on this is so we can go more in depth about it. The program will help you with food noise. Sometimes what happens is that
Starting point is 00:03:35 it's like it's your food noise kind of comes to light because you're trying to lose weight. So then now you have the pressure of trying to lose weight that you're putting on yourself, right? Along with that residual food noise and the way your brain is wired. And this is why the program is so great because you have to think about your next meal or snack. You have to think about making it nutrient rich. You have to think about why you are hungry. You have to think about your appetite and portion size. And then we start making changes to the food plan, which cause your brain to think differently in different ways. So we're approaching weight loss in a different way that helps to rewire your brain. But if you have food noise, this is the program you want to follow. If you have, if you're going through
Starting point is 00:04:14 menopause, you have hormonal issues, this is the program you want to follow. If you have diabetes and want to lose weight. This is the program you want to follow. If you are lacking motivation, I see this all the time. Well, I need to find people in this area or that area. And I know we have our squads that people created. This is the community. This is the place. This is the place. And so when we talk about, when we when we talk about things, we talk in depth about the things. And that's what I love about our live conversations is like, yes, here are the guidelines. Just follow the guidelines and you're going to lose your weight. But there's so much to learn by listening to the lives, right, watching the guest segments and whatnot. And as I scroll through, as I scroll through
Starting point is 00:05:01 social media right now, there's this big war on women's health that's happening right now with this conversation of menopause, for example. So now there's this big thing about menopause experts and everyone's selling JLP ones and everyone's trying to sell you something, right? And this is where these privatized healthcare companies are coming in. And they're like, well, they're saying that you need to take a GLP1, but at the same time, they're saying that menopause doesn't cause weight gain. What the actual fuck? Menopause doesn't cause weight gain. And they're like, well, we know science tells us, it's all about calories and versus calories out. The hell it is. There's so much nuance and context to this conversation that's missing. And there's just a bunch of women fighting each other out
Starting point is 00:05:45 there. Well, this isn't true. That isn't true. She said this. She said that. I'm like, oh, for the love of God, everyone just knock it off. There's so much that's not being said. Okay, yes, right? Why you gain weight in menopause is not because of menopause. But estrogen, which starts to decrease, is anti-inflammatory. It's protective. Right? So the lack of estrogen doesn't mean, oh, your body's going to, like, let me store fat. But it is, it was, it was, is they're protecting us, especially from inflammation. So if you don't have that protecting you anymore when you drink wine, for example, your body is more reactive to it. The symptoms of menopause, which is why we're taking H.R.T. MRT. It's like lack of sleep, right?
Starting point is 00:06:31 Affecting our brain, right? When you don't sleep, it affects your hunger hormones. So the next day, you are extra hungry and you are less sensitive to insulin. So when you do eat foods, your body processes them differently. Plus, you add years of dieting, starving and depriving yourself, losing weight through quick fixes, which affects your muscle mass. So then as you get older, you don't have as much muscle mass anymore. When you eat foods, carbohydrates especially, your body breaks them down, stores them as glycogen for energy. It's storing that. in your liver, primarily in your muscle, and also in your fat. When you no longer have the muscle to store it, more gets stored as fat, and that pops up in our midsection. Also, we're fucking tired.
Starting point is 00:07:23 We got a million things going on, so we tend not to be as active when it comes to moving our bodies, right? Or we're still stuck on old spin classes or step classes where all we're doing is cardio and we're not doing anything to maintain our muscle mass. And then, of course, the big protein conversation. You've got to be eating protein all day, every fucking day. No, you don't. Eating more protein than you need is not beneficial. Yes, you want to make sure you are prioritizing protein. Where does this conversation come from? Where did it come from? It comes from the fact that when we did shitty diets, we didn't care where that food came from, right? We didn't care. We just ate less. We counted calories. We ate less. We exercised more.
Starting point is 00:08:06 So we ate fucking trisketes and drank diet coke and we did spin classes or step classes till the cows came home. Right? Like that's that's what we did. We didn't, we didn't care about proteins and healthy carbs and fats or getting our leafy greens. And as long as we hit our calorie quota, we were good. So in one sense it's so fucked up. Oh, it's all about calories in versus calories.
Starting point is 00:08:28 No one is talking about where those calories. And then in the next breath they're like, well, you got to get your protein in. So there's so much context missing. No one is talking about what your body chooses to do with those calories, which comes down to hormones. So this is where I have a link of Trejo, who is this incredible naturopathic doctor, yes, but she specializes in hormones. She more than that can break it down in a way we can understand. So I've got her to come in to be like, explain this fucking hormone situation to us. Right. Like JLP1. Everyone's talking about JLP1. JLP1 is a hormone that your body, actually produces itself. And it's, after you eat, it keeps you satisfied. It lets you know, okay, we've had enough, right? So, GLP-1s, you're pumping that through your system, so you're satisfied all the time, right? So everything is missing context. Everything is missing, context. And this is when it comes to our guest experts, and even me with what I'm, what I'm guiding you throughout the program, is that you're getting kind of a fuller picture.
Starting point is 00:09:29 You're getting a full conversation about these things, not just clickbaits and little hits and then people are like oh subscribe and you know pay thousands of dollars to find out more we are literally giving it all to you that's why that's why you've signed up for the best weight loss program on the planet because we truly are about giving you all the information with all the context now do our guest experts also offer their own offering so for example Sandra alia does her food addiction program so you can work through your food addiction and your food noise and all that here if you want right this is this is the place to do it if you want to go deeper there are other conversations we've had with her on our podcast and and in the app accessible to you um or you can sign up for a course and learn
Starting point is 00:10:14 more we're going to have we're going to talk about hormones right we're going to talk everything you need about hormones if you want to learn more right dr olinka offers a course for you to do that right this sort of like if you want to learn even more about something and get investigative that's there for you but you also don't need that either like a psychologist We have Dr. Beverly David come in and talk to us about a variety of different things. She also talked food noise, right? She talked about food noise. She's a psychologist.
Starting point is 00:10:41 You want to go work with her? Amazing. Right? Amazing. That's great. So you want to do these things more in depth. But everything you have is right here for you. And it's about piecing it together.
Starting point is 00:10:51 So when someone says like, oh, how do we address our hormones? We tell you, right? Follow the program. Listen to the conversations about hormones. If you have food noise issues, you want to deal with food noise, follow the program. Listen to that conversation with Sandra. Listen to the conversation with Dr. Beverly about it, right? Feeling overwhelmed.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Just got so much shit going on. You're feeling overwhelmed. Listen to the conversation with Dr. Dina Kara Schaefer. She's a world-renowned learning strategist. So everything you have is like right here for you. And this is, I know you appreciate it because you're here. I'm preaching to the choir here. I just want you to know everything is here for you.
Starting point is 00:11:31 because what are we trying to do? I was going to take a sip of my coffee. It truly is in the shower this morning. What's going on? What are we trying to do, right? Like you want to lose weight. Okay, but why? Think about this.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Like, why are you here? Like, this is what the other thing I was thinking about this morning. Like, why are, like, I'm trying to make change too. Why? Why am I trying to make change? Why don't I just say, fuck it? Eat all the things. Just get bad.
Starting point is 00:11:58 La la la la la. You want to lose weight because you want. to fit your ass into your clothes. Why? Because when you feel good in your clothes, you just feel good. Right? And maybe you love dressing up and whatever. And it's not that you don't look good in your clothes at every size of body, but maybe you just don't feel comfortable. So it is about the clothes or feeling comfortable in the clothes, right? This is why I love our expert, Tanya Jalsamino, because she's lost over 60 pounds of the program. She owns a couple of clothing companies. And For years, she's been showcasing the clothes and style on her body at every size. And she looks
Starting point is 00:12:33 gorgeous, no matter what size she is. So is it about the clothes or it is about feeling comfortable in your body while wearing those clothes, right? So maybe you're here because you want that. Maybe you're here because you want to just be healthier. Why? So you don't fucking die. So I don't know it about you. I know so many people I know of cancer. Like what? Are we just trying to stay alive here? Because this is what's so great about the programs. Everything that you are doing is helping you also be healthier and live longer. I don't know about you, but menopause,
Starting point is 00:13:05 I seriously some days think I'm going to have a heart attack. My arm yesterday, I got this pain in my arm and I'm like Googling heart attack symptoms. What am I doing? Because I know I'm so stressed. I'm super stressed and I got, you know, and it's not this. I love this.
Starting point is 00:13:19 This is my happy place. You know, I'm stressed because, you know, business is, business, there's a lot of responsibilities. I'm stressed because I got some friends. going through stuff. I'm stressed because I have a kid who's
Starting point is 00:13:30 deals with mental health and addiction issues. And I'm stressed because my kid's dad died. It's coming up to a three years in the next couple weeks. So my kids are just all a mess, just feeling that, right? There's just so much going on. Everybody's got something going on. Everybody's got something going on. So what are we trying to do here? Be lose weight to fit into our jeans to feel more confident and comfortable in our skin to be healthier. Why? So we can live life. So we can enjoy life so we can, you know, like be here and maybe like enjoy it. Enjoy it. You know, so it's kind of a lot that we're trying to do here, which is why we provide a lot of resources. We have a lot of
Starting point is 00:14:15 conversations. And I know it can seem like a lot. This is why I love the 91 days. Like living method is 365, right? This is why you got your app. We have now have support in, between with our membership. We do these live programs to keep you motivated. So you have set aside 91 days of your life to be like, okay, come on now. I'm going to try to be as motivated as possible. I'm going to take this chunk of time and I'm going to see how much weight I can lose in this time frame. And I'm going to make it a priority in my life. Right. Or I've set aside this time. So this is a good time for me right now. I'm going to use it to motivate myself to do X, Y. That's why I love the 91 day sessions because it's just a great way of keeping you motivated and also a great way of kind of like
Starting point is 00:15:00 keeping it small. So you can show up every single day, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose, right? You're going to have to do more than one program. You can't just stop in between live sessions. You kind of keep going. It's an all day, every day type of thing, right? So eventually you're going to get there. That's how you're like break it down. So tomorrow Dr. Dina and Kara Schaefer is going to talk to us about this. How do we make it manageable? How do we make it fit into our lives. There's a, there's a great comment here that Kim sent me from one of our members. And I thought it was interesting. Been a really messy start for me this time. Oh, gosh, same. Same. Lots going on otherwise, but regardless, trying so hard to commit myself here. Okay, so that's
Starting point is 00:15:45 the work. What are you committing to? It's just doing your best every day to make choices that are going to help you reach your goals. You're committed to figure. out what you need to feel better. You're committed to working through your shit issues and associations tied into food because you know you maybe have a fucked up relationship with it, having spent years dieting, right? Like what is it that you are committing to waking up every day and lifeing? Like you got to eat anyway. So why don't we eat food that makes us feel good? Right? Like what? You know what I'm saying? This is the work. That's the work for you, first of all. Trying so hard to commit myself here. Yeah, like, what does that mean? Is it because of the
Starting point is 00:16:25 91 days? Like the 91 days is there to motivate you. It's guided. There's so much benefit to that in terms of how we learn how we make change. But it's an all day, every day thing. So maybe like, maybe it's not committing to the 91 days. Maybe it's committing to the goal you're trying to achieve. Committing to trying to be as healthy as possible each day. Right. Like maybe you need to break it down in the way that you're seeing what you're committing. What the fuck are you committing? to. You know what I mean? If you're like, I can't just can't commit, commit to what? I went to the gym yesterday. First time I've been there in over a year, paid every month. And why haven't I canceled my membership? Because I believe in myself. I believe in myself that I am going to be fit.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Whole year. Is it been a year, Tony? How long do you think since I last been to the gym? He's like, yeah, about that. A whole fucking year. I've been paying for my gym membership. Do I regret it? No. No, no, because I believe in myself, right? Like I went there yesterday and one, I was like, God, the gym is sad, man. I don't know. I don't know if the gym is the right place for me. I've been working out at home, but why did I keep this gym membership? Because I'm committed to being a healthier person.
Starting point is 00:17:34 I'm committed to building and maintaining my muscle. I'm committed to this. Has this year been a bit of a wash for me? Abs of fucking looting, but I'm not giving up on the fact that this is who I want to be. This is who I know I am. And this last year has not made that easy for me, for whatever reason. But I went yesterday and I'm like, yeah, I did this. I didn't do a hard work out.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Tony and I, we walked around a few machines. We were also dealing with some other stuff at the same time, whatever. And I felt, okay, I did that. Okay, I did that. So what are you committing to? Right. So that's the question. And this is why it's so great to write these things out.
Starting point is 00:18:10 It's why it's so great to be part of our private Facebook community. So you can put this somewhere. Write it down, write how you feel, and then go back over your words, maybe in the moment, maybe later, and read it. Been a really messy start for me this time. Life is so messy. Good for you for being here, right? Good for you for not letting that stop you.
Starting point is 00:18:31 That's really important. Life is messy. Lots going on otherwise, but regardless, trying so hard to commit to myself here. Again, what are you, what exactly are you committing to? And maybe it's simple. Maybe I'm just committing to awareness. maybe I'm committing to learning more. It doesn't have to be committing to lose all your weight in 91 days, right?
Starting point is 00:18:50 It can be like maybe I'm just committing to like show up for myself the best I can every day. Maybe I'm committing to setting my intentions, drinking my water, you know, figuring out more about myself, right? It doesn't have to be this commitment of losing all the weights, you know. The chocolate conversation. This is always a big one. It always trips people up. So in the group today we're talking about chocolate and how you can have it. So the bottom line is you can have it if you want it.
Starting point is 00:19:14 But I suggested people don't do it. Don't do it. And why? Because I want you to get so in tune with your actual needs over your wants. I want you to get to a place where you're like, oh, I'm going to have a piece of chocolate. And you're like, oh, you actually enjoy it. And you eat it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:19:39 As opposed to, oh, my God, there's chocolate. Should I have it? Shouldn't I have it? Okay, I'm just going to have one piece. Oh, my God. I'm eating it. I'm ruining everything. Okay, I'm just going to have it. And all right, I ate it. Oh, fuck. Why did I do that? Okay. I had one piece. I might as well have . I might as well, I'm having this. Let me try to savor it. Okay, whatever. Oh, well, fuck. I've already had two pieces. I've
Starting point is 00:20:00 absolutely ruined everything. I'm an absolute loser. I'm never going to reach my goals. Tomorrow's a new fucking day. So let me eat the whole chocolate bar. Right? After you eat the chocolate bar, this thing that it brings you joy and pleasure, you start being, oh my God, I can't put it. leave. I've done that. I've horrible. I've ruined everything. Well, let me go get a bag of chips. Drink a bottle of wine. I was going to go to the gym tonight, but what's the fucking point? Because I ate this chocolate. So there's that. Let me start again tomorrow. Then you go to bed and you sit there. Okay, okay, I ate that chocolate bar today. And I ate the chips today and I didn't work out today. So, oh my God. So tomorrow, I have to try to not eat all day long to make up for it. Then you go to
Starting point is 00:20:35 sleep. Of course, you have a crappy sleep because, you know, you eat and all these things. Then you wake up in the morning. You get on the scale and you want to see it down. But it's not because your body's probably inflate. from all the shit you ate yesterday, more so the sleep that you didn't get because you ate the shit, or most of the sleep that you didn't get because you were thinking all night about how you ate this fucking chocolate that's bringing you joy. Right? And then you pop into the group that this fucking program isn't working for me. Okay. Right? I'm never going to lose my weight. Fuck it. Forget it. I'm just going to wait to the next program. Is that piece of chocolate really bringing
Starting point is 00:21:07 you joy? Like this is where I wanted you to get. Like, right, I can eat a piece of chocolate. I can need a piece of chocolate, enjoy it, and just leave it alone, and it can sit on my desk the whole week. I worked hard for that. That didn't come naturally to me, and I'm definitely no martyr over that, right? Like, I worked hard for that to get to a place where I'm just, I'm enjoying it. If I choose, last night, I'm going to be really real with you, I chose to eat a whole bag and a half of Miss Vicki's new Parmesan and truffle chips. Eat the whole fucking bag. Tony says my daughter got me three because they're hard to find. And so I opened one. She brought them home yesterday. I opened one with her and I ate it at the table while she was eating dinner. And I had already had dinner. And she ate that.
Starting point is 00:21:52 I had some of those. And I was like, okay, you can, you can, you can have this bag. I'm taking the other two bags. So I was like, oh, we got chips. Yeah. So then we're up in bed and I'm eating this bag of chips munching away. And he's like, did we just eat that whole bag of chips? I'm like, yeah, but technically it's like we have two bags that I was going to eat. So really it's just like eating half a bag. Shit you not. I said that to him. Girl math. He just looked at me now and he's like, girl math. But I ate it unapologetically. I just ate it. I just wanted to eat it. I ate it. I intentionally over ate that bag of chips enjoyed every second. That was it. I didn't wake up this morning and be like, oh my God, what did I do? I didn't. I just like, okay, that's it. That's what I want
Starting point is 00:22:45 from you. But in order to get there, if you keep feeding into and believing that things, so have the chocolate, but be mindful of how, like, the thought process around. That's the work, right? This is not just lose your weight. You're going to gain it back unless you, unless you really go into it. So, so have that chocolate. Let me finish read the rest of this. Okay. The chocolate conversation. I'm not sure I understand this. I try to enjoy my food and eat things I like, nutrient rich, not process. At time, sometimes dark chocolates included. It has health benefits. I'm not sure where or if enjoying your food fits in. So the whole thing, whole part of losing your weight in this way is to reconnect with food in a different way, to rewire your thought process around foods. So is it that chocolate
Starting point is 00:23:32 or is it the dopamine hit of a treat? Right? Are you craving chocolate? make sure you're adding magnesium to your diet because that's one of the reasons why we crave chocolate. It's going to be high magnesium. Your body needs magnesium. If you're not supplementing with magnesium, which is probably one of the first ones to deplete when we're stressed, you might just need magnesium. We did a post on cravings in the group today too. Like cravings aren't your body trying to screw you over. They are your body trying to communicate to you. What's your body trying to tell you with your cravings? And so yes, you absolutely want to reconnect with food in a different way. So that's where I, I want you to be able to lose your weight in a way that you are in tune with
Starting point is 00:24:09 when to eat, what to eat, how much to eat. You can sit in a room full of your favorite foods and be like, we're grownups. It's not like this is the only chance I have to eat chocolate. I could literally go buy a chocolate bar right now. So it's not like I'm a kid and I only get it every now and then. So I'm like, you know, I want it. And that's my only chance to have it. We're adults. Right. We're adults. So we still have that mentality, of that treat mentality. from a kid, there's a lot going into how we feel about these things we use to treat ourselves. Is it bringing you peace? If that chocolate, dark chocolate is bringing you peace, absolutely have at her. But if it is not, and you have all of that thought process, food noise, aftermath, berating,
Starting point is 00:24:50 punishing, all of that happening, then maybe that's the work for you. Maybe that's the work for you, right? And that's why I say it's just a bigger picture. Yes, have the chocolate. It's not going to stop you from reaching your goals. But I want you to learn the things you need to learn so that you're able to maintain and sustain your weight. Right. And that's, that's reassociating with food in a different way. And that's what that chocolate. Chocolate is very represented. This is why I do it with chocolate, because people have such a big, strong. Listen, what, you know, you probably love me more if I was like, hey, dark chocolate, have at her. It's amazing. High in magnesium. Go for it. Yay. That'd be such an easy conversation. You'd be like, oh, I love Gina. Our program.
Starting point is 00:25:32 I'm so amazing. We can eat chocolate on it. Yeah, you can. But I want, like, do you know what I'm saying? So this, this is what, again, how did I start this conversation? I know I'm fired up today. It's all about context and it's all about deeper level of understanding. And that's what I'm trying. I'm really, truly, and I hope you can see that as I am really truly wanting you to lose your weight in a way that you can actually maintain and sustain. When I, while I was growing up, I'm just kind of, I'm going to be 53 in a couple weeks. And I watched the Oprah, not only did I have my own struggle with weights, right, where I was eating last exercising more. It didn't work for me. I went to my doctor and I'm like, what's wrong with this?
Starting point is 00:26:16 There's got to be something wrong with me. And he's like, you're just big bone, you know, like whatever. Okay. And I loved Oprah. No matter how you feel about her. I loved Oprah. And I would watch her have all these guests come on it. First of all, I love that deeper.
Starting point is 00:26:29 she was like the first one to bring context to things, right? Where you got an hour of time talking about divorce, abuse, finances, spirituality with guest experts providing context to you. Like where do we get that anywhere else? Like where do you get a conversation? You have to go, like, do you ever have a conversation with your doctor where they provide context? Are you in and out?
Starting point is 00:26:56 That's the time. This is what we're discussing. You know, even a psychologist, they're helping you work through your stuff, but they're not sharing their knowledge with you. So I would watch Oprah and she'd have all these guest experts on diet experts. And every week it was a different diet. And I'm just like, okay, so if all these different diets work, there's got to be a little bit of truth in them. But they've all been exaggerated for clickbait by my book. This is my diet.
Starting point is 00:27:23 And I remember very clearly always thinking, why doesn't she just get all of the, of her diet experts on one show and tell us what to fucking do. Could it be the chips that have you hype? I don't know what it is. Normally on a Wednesday, I'm tired. I just, I love the energy of what we're trying. I just want to wrap everybody in a blanket of love and be like, you're in the right place. Like, I got you. And this is exactly what you, and what you, like, this is like, if you got big feels about anything we're doing here, that's the work for you. It just, I'm so tired of the internet and the fighting that's going on right now because of, well, she said this, but there's no context to that.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Like everyone's trying to share what they know, yes. Is it driven by trying to sell you something? Probably. But it is nuanced, right? Like calories in versus calories out, it's nuanced. This is why I love, you know, Jason Fung. And people will call him a grifter. I'm like, the guys are fucking medical doctor.
Starting point is 00:28:21 He's like, what are you talking about? He's sciences. It's just it doesn't fit the narrative. So I've been writing this book, and it's all about where calories in versus calories out first came from. And it wasn't for weight loss. It was to ration food. It was to figure out how much energy someone needs to,
Starting point is 00:28:41 how much energy the men in war needed to go and fight the war. And then what was left over for women and children, and women needed to follow a certain ration portion based on calories. and if you were carrying excess weight, you were seen as unworthy, no willpower. Like, this shit goes so deep. You don't even know. And it was started by a woman.
Starting point is 00:29:03 And the thing is, is science. Science is always science until it changes. It's so interesting this menopause conversation because all of this came about because they did a study. And then the study ended up being wrong years later. And yet when people are talking about, well, you could do this, could do that. people are like, well, where's the study? Show us the science. All of this is coming about over a study
Starting point is 00:29:29 that when they figured out years later was wrong. And yet to prove that we know what we're talking about, we need to cite a new study. It's so fucked up. I had this girl, he used to slam my program all the time. I used to talk about insulin resistance, right? Obviously, that's a big conversation. It's real. Insulin resistance is absolutely real. Science now. also says my, you go back to my diet five years ago. I used to talk about insulin resistance when it comes to everything. That's why people are like, does your diet work for insulin resistance? I'm like, oh, God, yes. It's built off of insulin resistance. But when I used to talk about insulin resistance, there was this woman out there. And she's like, she's a grifter.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Insulin resistance isn't real. I would say, okay, you need drink a certain amount of water. She's like, people are going to die. She's telling them to drink two and a half, three a half liters. There's no science. Guess what? There's science now. Right? Like I just figured out this is a certain amount people's bodies need. When it comes to processing and digesting food, you need a certain amount. You know, in order to lose fat, you need a certain amount, right? What else? There's been so many things. Oh, what you eat at night. I just, this is her voice. Anyway, I'm not apologizing. She's so full of shit telling people that they can't eat at night. I'm like, you can eat at night. It's just that not eating at night helps you sleep. And you need sleep for your body to make change. What about the people? people in Europe. They eat late. Yeah, well, they also walk a ton. Their stress levels are different. They live a different life. And they're not trying to lose weight. I'm not saying you can't eat at night, but while you're trying to lose weight, sure, shit helps. And now, now, you know what she did? She fucking stole my program, turned it into her own weight, midlife weight loss program. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:15 So what she did. And now that there's science to back up all of it. So there she is. Make sure you drink your water. You need two and a half, three and a half liters. Make sure you don't that night because they're like, fuck off. So this is also why everyone treats you like you're a fucking idiot. And I know there's a lot of F-bonds today. Everyone treats you like you're an idiot and you can't figure this out for yourself. I don't need a woman out there like, like, I'm going to let you, I'm going to give you the information and let you decide. I'm also going to provide a resource for you to ask questions. I'm going to provide a community for you to like, see what other people are feeling, right? Everyone treats you like you're a fucking idiot when you're
Starting point is 00:31:52 not. It's just a matter of context. There's just no context to anything, right? So this is why I want to provide context. I don't know where this is coming from. Maybe it is the chips. I don't know. I had the water discussion with a family member quite often about three liters per day too much. Tell me why. You know, they always, they always cite, well, you can die. There's only been really one case of that, which was these soldiers in Afghanistan. And they were in the desert and they were overheated and they just kept drinking the water. Like your body can actually process 28 liters per day. That's problematic. What you don't want to do is drink more than a liter per hour. Like there's no one is drinking up more than a liter per hour. And so yeah, no one can give
Starting point is 00:32:39 her, do you know there's no, there's no studies on the eight to ten glasses of water. No studies on the eight to ten glasses of water. They're not zero. And but there is a lot of studies and research on this two and a half to three and a half liters for basic body function. That's not even optimal health. That's like how much you need to survive. But people think they know because, you know, Sally Hoohoo told them that they didn't need that. Like this is context, context, research, science. Yes, of course, until the science changes. So this is where I would be like, where are you getting this from? And so it's just, it's so hard out there when you're trying to learn from the internet and social media. This is where you want to be investigative and go to the next
Starting point is 00:33:19 home. That's what we do. My point is that's what we do here. I'm doing it. I'm doing it. for you. And that's why we have our guest experts on. That's why there's so much information. I just, before I go, too, and this is why this is why this all started. You might not know this, but when you are using the AI in the app, there's a ton of information on menopause and weight loss in there and a ton of information on GLP1s and weight loss in there. We're not, I could literally make this the menopause weight loss program. Like I could. I could take every day and turn it into the menopause weight loss program. It's the same thing you would do to lose weight, obviously because the program works really well in all stages of menopause. But all that information
Starting point is 00:33:59 is in there. We're going to actually turn that into a guide. So we're going to put all of our menopause information in that guide in our apps. We're working on that right now and also a GLP1 guide too. So you can ask the app all sorts of questions about menopause because there's a ton of information in there for you. So that's really what I wanted to let you know. Anyways, today is Wednesday. I'm going to be back tonight for a Q&A. Thank you for joining. Thank you for listening to me. I just really want you to know you're in the right place. You're in the right place. I got you. And this is so much bigger picture. That's the other takeaway. There's so much bigger picture, right? And this is where you do want to go deeper. You want to understand not just what you are doing,
Starting point is 00:34:38 but why you are doing it. In the group today, we're talking about why it works. So we're talking about, again, the food plan, bonus snacks, adding them in, nutrient rich foods, hunger cues. and all of that. So if you haven't had an opportunity to check that out, make sure you do. First actual live for me in a long time. Hi, Karen. And I'm loving it. Feel so different than listening to the recording after. Yeah, I love lives. And this is why I continue to do them because it's a great opportunity for. So many people I know have done Weight Watchers and they miss the in-person meetings. This is why we're working on some fun events. And I think there's like a loneliness epidemic out there and you want to feel like you're not alone and this is why the live events you can
Starting point is 00:35:18 feel like you can connect this is why in the group this is a place for our community right to to talk and share and connect and talk about things talk about things and that's why i love the live format because it's an opportunity to kind of talk behind the scenes uh i knew the program i have to say i love that you are so real with the f bombs well thank you i just it's my it's my language um i'm a chronic overthinker trying to do everything right and just have to let that go, yeah, that all or nothing, right? Or it could be all or love, that all or nothing attitude. I'm right there with you. I'm right there with you. We're all there with you. And yes, I do tend to swear. Sometimes I won't swear at all. Sometimes I do. The reason why I, the reason why it's really important that I don't censor this
Starting point is 00:36:03 and not that I can't improve on it, when I try to censor the words that come out, it messes me up. And then I'm trying to censor everything that comes up. And so if I just kind of let in my brain go. When I sit down here every day, I'm like, okay, what do, what do I feel people need to know? What am I trying to share? What's my intention? And I guess today I'm just trying to provide context to the whole thing. That is just so much bigger than calories in versus calories out, that there is so much out there that's confusing online. And I want this to be a place where you can come and ask real questions and have real conversations and get real support and to be a place for you far beyond just our 91 days, you know, live sessions that we do,
Starting point is 00:36:46 a place for you to truly work on your goals. And when you can understand why and have more contacts within yourself, that can be really helpful. I got to go. I hope that you have a great day. Thank you for joining me. I appreciate you. I really do. I'm very passionate about all this, and I love the opportunity to talk more in depth.
Starting point is 00:37:01 So thank you. You can also download and listen to all of our lives by way of podcasts. And, of course, you don't even have to watch. You don't have to listen. And, you know, pick up what you can. Pick up what you can. Whatever you are meant to see, you are meant to see and you are meant to hear. There's something that I said that's resonating to you or something that's like, oh, that's that's the message for you in there.
Starting point is 00:37:20 I know that sounds so corny and cliche, but it's true. It's about evoking those thoughts and feels emotions. That's the place. It's not always the food plan. It's not the what to eat and when. It's all the thoughts and feels around that. Have a great day. If you want to join me tonight, I'll be back in the group with a Q&A session, but obviously don't wait to ask your questions.
Starting point is 00:37:36 just another opportunity to talk more in depth. There is still time to sign up for the program if you haven't. If you know friends and family, we've now structured in a way that you can sign up and still get caught up or jump in where we are at. So feel free to share with friends and family. Have a great day and I'll see you later. Bye.
