Starting point is 00:00:00 There are people in the world like Logax. They support this morning show with their monthly bucks. Get your monthly bucks in here. Patreon.com slash TMS. Coming up on the morning stream, Brian went Dunaway. Going full nostril. I hate that effing key. I don't like the windows key.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Uranus is hot. Casa Benita handoff. Pre-meat. When Ozzy hooked a ham. What's Daryl doing these days? You know he's got talent. The power of scroll lock repels you. You, damn it.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Hey, aliens, we have weeners. Soupy-dupy bullshit. All right, turds. Lord Reginald Octothorpe, the third. Shut up and let Tom talk tech with Tom and more on this episode of The Morning Stream. Hello. My name is Ellen. Some people call me sexy.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Others say I'm sensuous. There's a lot of holes in this system. So what? The Morning Stream. There, that's better. Try to enjoy your life day. Hello, everyone, and welcome to TMS. This is the morning stream for Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I'm Scott Johnson. That's Brian Abbott. Hi. Good morning. We've reached the middle of the week. We're finally here, Scott. We're here in the middle. That's right.
Starting point is 00:01:30 I learned in the, and Brian and I do a little pre-meat for the show here. Yeah. I learned today that the Divine Comedy, the band, the Irish band, is not really a band. It's a guy. Yeah. Yeah. And the whole band's not Irish. I think just Neil, just Neil Hannan is.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Oh my gosh. The knowledge drops just keep coming on the Divine Comedy. That's amazing. No, I really had no idea. That makes me respect him even more because I was thought of them as a giant collaborative. I mean, obviously, you collaborate with your players and your band. Right, right. And it's, you know, and again, like I said earlier,
Starting point is 00:02:00 I mean, he's had the same members with him for four or five albums. So if that finally does qualify as a band, but, you know, when you look at members on Wikipedia, the Divine Comedy, members, Neil Hannan. Yeah, that's it. That's true. That's where it stops. I'm looking at his Wikipedia right now. You're exactly right.
Starting point is 00:02:22 Yeah, you want some fun. Go watch the video for a song called National Express. That was the only top 10 hit that, um, uh that the that the band has had they've had quite a few singles but uh national express is the is the one hit and it is um the video for it is great nice and he's our age which i like i respect he's our age yeah like a guy who can understand where the hell we are right now you know and he's you know he just you hear him talk to like interviews and stuff like that he does he does um you know just like little announcement videos for when there's a new album the dude is
Starting point is 00:02:58 freaking brilliant. If it wasn't, if it wasn't apparent by his lyrics, he's just, just a freaking brilliant dude. It's like, what do we do with our lives? Or maybe just, I'll just speak for myself. What do I do with my life? Well, congratulations to Northern Ireland for having such a great musician base there. That's right. We are all about doing today's TMS, and part of that is telling you a little bit of something, something about, oh, this is yesterday's notes. Why I'm in there. That's stupid why I'm in there. Oh, let's tell us, let's tell the same story as you. Yeah, let's just do it. If no one notices, then it confirms a little theory I have about
Starting point is 00:03:37 the attention span of our listeners. But I tried something yesterday that I've never tried before and it was a weird experience and I don't know if I'll ever do it again. But I always thought that if you were going to stream on TikTok, you had to be invited or you had to be a certain threshold of followers or something like that. And maybe that's still true. And maybe I crossed the threshold and just didn't know it. But I've never really cared or attempted to do anything. Most of those lives just annoying me and I flick past them. But once in a while I'll see one. Like Shojo will do one. I'll be like, oh, what's she up to in there? Check that out. So last night, I was sitting on the, on the veranda here at Casa del Johnson. And I was chilling, just chilling before I had
Starting point is 00:04:20 stuff with Dunaway. I was after that. It was after that. I was trying to like kind of just do brain dump after Dunaway and I were done. It was kind of late. And I was kind of late. And I saw a little button that said, you can go live if you want to or something. I'm like, oh, well, let's just try this dumb thing and see what happens. So I'd do it. And man, must I have seemed like an out of it, old fart on there to anyone who happened upon it that wasn't someone I knew. Right.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Because you can, it's a lot more algorithmy where people can stumble upon you, right? I think so. I don't think it's like your friends will be notified you're on. Yeah, of course. Anyone you follow or that follow you back or all that. But it's, I think anybody else like Randos are just going to be randos and they'll be based on whatever their algorithms are. But also, I'm looking at it like full nostril going, no wait, that button says this. But you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:05:11 It's just real shitty. Because I know stuff. I know technology. I understand how to stream. We're doing it right now. Look at this. But this thing was like this whole new world because I didn't use their dumb little tools and everything. So I fire this thing up, looking all stupid.
Starting point is 00:05:23 and I get a, bing, J.K. Grammer has joined your stream. And it'll let me add him to the, I could talk to him, he could voice in. So James hops in. I talk to James. I hear him and his lovely wife laughing behind the curtain there. And we played like a picturesnary kind of game.
Starting point is 00:05:45 So basically it let you hit this button. Yeah, it's just built in. You draw this, it's all in the white line. It's like drawful kind of. But they give you a keyword for me. I can see. Let's say the words, you know, Apple or something. So I draw an Apple. And then whoever in the chat first types Apple and enter gets first place, second place, whatever. And then you get a new word and you can go as long as you want. And then there's a score at the end. So me and J.K.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Grammer did that for a while. And that was super fun. And then Chojo showed up for a minute, not in voice, but it was in the chat for a minute. And it was kind of cool. But here's my verdict. Yeah. I don't know if I ever, I don't know if I'm doing that again. Yeah. I don't know if that's for me. that might be for the kids you know i mean you know it feels like it's a lot easier and better just to do the youtube thing right yeah i can do kind of all that well i mean the truth is i can also stream to to tictock in vertical mode oh right via obi yes i mean i can do all three of these things if i wanted i just i just think it's a different thing it's kind of like saying what's it like let's say you do you do you do you know it's like an mbcd
Starting point is 00:06:53 drama versus a reality show they're just such different mediums even though they're both video they both include the streaming they're just so separate and i i feel like i don't know i feel like i was just like in the wrong place like i was taking over somebody's tools and going i get out of here you kids i'm going to fill with this i don't know it was a weird feeling but we'll see we'll see if we do it again and if i do we'll play some more of that dumb picturing my only beef with it though is it's not the problem that you use your finger to draw it's that the drawing is super laggy Sometimes when you put a dot down, it's right in the center of your finger. Sometimes it'll be off to the left or right.
Starting point is 00:07:28 So you can't, you know, your best to never lift up. Yeah, it's not great. You could tell they really could improve that. There's a trivia mode, Brian. I thought of you when I saw it. There's like a little game you can play with trivia. It seemed very simple. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Nothing hard. Right. Like, what was, there was some of those that was like, oh my God, is this even a challenge? Trivia crack, I think, was that? Or one of those. yeah the one that was just way too they didn't have harder levels at all it was like right exactly exactly
Starting point is 00:07:59 it's like what are what are bananas right what color is a banana it's a yellow fruit yeah yeah yeah it was a lot like that and I don't like it and this was like that so I didn't really mess with it but hey it's out there for you get in their kids it's all for you I guess
Starting point is 00:08:17 go on in kids and your trivia and your picturenery yeah now if it was just a place if you were just like hey red fraggle claire five other people we want to get on here and screw around for a while we could but we all kind of already have discord for that and it's like really is that what you really want yeah yeah anyway uh pour one out everybody for Ozzy Osbourne today oh yeah 76 I thought he was a lot older I think he lived a life that made him seem a lot older for yes I think that's it for sure when that reality show was on I felt like he was 76 in that thing
Starting point is 00:08:51 exactly but man so you know timing was like he had his big concert the back to the beginning reunion the black sabbath deal all the artists who came out there and did some incredible incredible songs with him and covers of him like a week ago week and a half ago or something we can have to go july 5th and then uh yeah so you know so they're they're talking about turning or they're planning on turning that concert into a a concert film oh and the original plan was it was going to be out in 2026. I'm going to guess. I told Hammond this this morning. I'm going to guess they up that
Starting point is 00:09:26 timeline a little bit. Yeah. I got I have the feeling. I could be wrong about this, Brian. There's a few of these theories going around. That concert was not only a farewell concert for him as an artist, also Black Sabbath and all the connected tissue of who Ozzy is.
Starting point is 00:09:44 It felt like he threw his own funeral a little bit. And some people are saying that this may have been like an assisted death, not a not a natural death like he because it is you know they haven't released details of exactly yeah which i'm by the way no judgment for i think people family you know family wants privacy at this time and it's uh uh absolutely understandable so yeah and i don't think interesting i don't i don't
Starting point is 00:10:08 think Sharon ran through the house with a knife and chased him down or anything you know what i mean but i think it's a yes from me there could be something like that because the fact that we're talking a week and a half later yeah that's that awful close to it is weird timing right like it just feels like he he said you know I want to go out with a bang yeah kind of thing another effing the cat and the dog go out with the bang yeah I was way to we were both way to um clear in our voice in their impersonations like sings his singing clear is a bell I can understand his words but I love I give a lot of crap to reality
Starting point is 00:10:50 show's on here but the Osbournes was that all it was called just the Osbournes just the Osbournes yep that I liked because it was just put the camera on Ozzie and have him do funny stuff like even like learn how to use a remote control yeah was a whole I think I think 20 minutes of an episode devoted to him just trying to figure out a remote control just yelling at Jack like get in here Jack and help me with this and if it wasn't Jack it was Sharon I saw a photo recently let's see if I can find it real quick picture of the family uh see here. Come on, Scott. Where'd you put it, buddy? There it is. Media. I think Jack
Starting point is 00:11:26 looks like, here we go, save image. I think Jack looks like he could fix my air conditioner. Really? Yeah, look at this. It's funny how much those kids. So there's, there's mom. There's Ozzy. There's, what, I forgot her name. But she's obviously a billion things done. She's very different than she used to look. Kelly. Kelly Osborne. But Jack over here. yeah yeah i think it's your uh he's doing videos for blackstone grills right yeah yeah he's gonna show you how to make the
Starting point is 00:11:57 how to make the perfect uh smash burger your problem there's your u joints leading up to the water heater and uh we can fix that up for you yeah he's a super chill looking but you look at those two like i remember what kelly and jack looked like back in the back when the reality show was on and um uh they've they've definitely i don't want to say cleaned up but they they look great you know they look Yeah. They don't look as, as, as, um, as wiped out as they did back in the reality show days. Chat Ramas, Elsie has an older daughter, isn't there an older daughter from a previous relationship, but I don't know where she's at now.
Starting point is 00:12:32 She did not want to be part of the reality show. And it's almost like, I want to say it was like Tiffany Osborne or something, but it wasn't Tiffany, but it was something like that. It was like a, it's like another, there is another Tiffany who doesn't like being around the family. Exactly. Yes. That's why I'm thinking, that's probably why I thought that name.
Starting point is 00:12:49 back in the days of interviews on Coverville which I might get back to some point I interviewed Pat Boone There she is. That's Amy. That's Amy. Amy Osborne, that's it. Here we go ahead. She's. I interviewed Pat Boone
Starting point is 00:13:07 who was famously Ozzie's next door neighbor during the filming of the Osbournes. Oh, that's right. And talked with him about what it was like to live next door to Ozzy, especially while the the cameras are all rolling and he said Ozzie and Sharon and
Starting point is 00:13:23 the kids were fantastic neighbors I mean granted these aren't houses that are three feet apart no these are houses like you know a hundred feet apart but I remember there was a situation where he they threw a ham over over the fence
Starting point is 00:13:37 or something like that yeah it was like a hand it was a whole ham it was a whole ham I think that they threw over the fence into Pat Boone's yard but at one point Pat Boone did an impersonation of Ozzy like he was saying oh yeah one day I saw him out there with his car and I said hey how you doing he's like oh okay I can't get into my car or something like that so I have I have Pat Boone impersonating Ozzy Osbourne on Coverville exclusive do you have it uh you're not going to find that on entertainment tonight do you have it clipped out anywhere no I should darn it yeah that's uh I remember they they tried to fluff that up a little bit like there was some kind of rivalry on the show but yeah it was a really It really wasn't. Yeah, it sounds like they were fine.
Starting point is 00:14:22 I don't know where you even find that. Can I go watch that show now? The Osbournes? Yes, it's on. I just saw that it's trending on HBO Max. Oh, no way. Yeah, it's like I was looking at something else. Here, I'm going to tell you, because I'm not going to use this as a recommendal because
Starting point is 00:14:37 it was very disappointing, but the new robot chicken self-discovery special. Oh, yeah, I've heard mixed things. Not great? It's just so disappointing. Yeah. you know they and it's because they strayed far away from what i think was their their um their funniest bits were the more targeted um geek pop culture like you know they've got a little bit of that they got the scooby-do kids they've got some sailor moon stuff things like that but 90% of it is
Starting point is 00:15:11 we're making fun of the deadliest catch we're making fun of ghost hunters we're making fun of my 90-day fiancé or my strange addiction or whatever and it's like those those shows do a fine job making fun of themselves you don't need to spend time on that yeah i agree with that that's too bad man that bums me out seth green's still involved and all that yes and his this one kind of centers on that nerd character that seth green always voices that uh the dude with the big glasses oh uh who you know let's face it Sounds like Chris Griffin. It's the same voice. It's the exact same voice. It's the same voice that he uses for both.
Starting point is 00:15:54 And so, yeah, I'm so bummed because I was really looking forward to that. Yeah, I love the old robot chicken stuff so good. It was great. It was so, like, they nailed it with the, um, there was always some superhero and Star Wars and Star Trek stuff. And I'm thinking, God, all right, this should be really good because look at all the material they've got since. the last thing they've done with all of the MCU stuff that they can make fun of and and prequels and postquels and stuff like that so much material yeah just societally speaking like they got so much they got so much they got so much they could do i don't know maybe you just
Starting point is 00:16:33 run out of steam with that stuff i don't know i think so yeah that's a bummer it is a bummer so well i appreciate the i appreciate the warning it's a non-recommental from me and i and also if the Osbournes are on HBO Max, I would recommend hurrying up because David Zazlov doesn't like to keep things on there that people like. No kidding. So go get it now while you can, I suppose. That's right, Amy. I said post-cules. You've got your prequels and your post-cules.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Yeah, your post-quels. What else are they called? Pastquels. The sequels, but you know. Oh, yeah, duh. For a hot second, I forgot there is a word for it. There is an actual word for it. And we use it all the time. But you've got your, you know, Star Wars is, your
Starting point is 00:17:14 original. Then, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are your sequels. Then you've got the three prequels. So after those middle three, you need postquels. Yeah, I need postquels. I like it. I like that a lot. Sign me up for your newsletter.
Starting point is 00:17:30 I like it. It's actually what's going to be called, this day in pockwls. Oh, good. Postcles. We got one last note here from John Penn before we had done away to the call. John Penn wrote in and John Penn says, hey, fellers. I don't feel like we've been... Sean Penn says, no shirt, no shoes, no dice.
Starting point is 00:17:50 Oh, wait, that's Sean Penn. Oh, sorry. I misheard you. No relation as far as I know. I've never been called a feller on the show, I don't think. Anyone called us fellers? We've definitely been called fellers. Have me?
Starting point is 00:18:02 For sure. It's jumping out in my head. Anyway, it says, hey, fellers, love the show. Has anyone checked in on Daryl in a while? Just want to make sure he's good. Can't have our trek nerd go missing or something. He has been awful quiet on, like, Facebook and other places he would normally post. I reached out to him based on this text this morning just to see how he's doing, and I haven't heard back.
Starting point is 00:18:22 So, if anyone out there, you know, touches base with... Anybody got eyes on Daryl? Yeah, we got eyes on Daryl? Anybody see Daryl? What's his 20? Yeah. So to celebrate this email, let's go ahead and play a couple of Daryl clips. Cool.
Starting point is 00:18:38 A couple of cookies here. How about this one? That's not it. It's not it at all. Here we go. You know the answer to this, and if you say it wrong, I'm going to jump through the phone line and pinch your nipples. Go ahead. I guess that was all that we were getting out of him there. That's not great. All right. How about this one? It's kind of fruity, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:18:56 All right. That's a good one. Give us the sparkly. Come on. How about this one? It's all mushy and wet. All right. Where's the smart? Oh, okay. Oh, that's tender. Yeah, that's tender. How about this one? All right, oh, poop. How about this one?
Starting point is 00:19:11 It looks like somebody peed in a pint. apple. Okay, all right. And then finally, where's the one that we like? Sparkly. Sparkly or daylight savings? Soca-matic. So good. No. Oh, geez. Thank you for now playing the rest of that. Yeah, I had to kill that one. I hate that one. Here he's doing chewy. That's just chewy. All right, well, oh. I don't like hearing myself. Shut up, me. I can't find the one about the sparkly. Why? Did I spell sparkling? wrong hold on maybe that's oh yeah i did there you go you guys sound kind of sparkly there you go there's our check in with darrell he was naked in that yeah he was i always have to remind people that when you hear that that that's that's darrell naked yeah in a bed well you know if it weren't for
Starting point is 00:20:01 these cameras yeah right i mean below the waist we can get away with it welcome to the morning commando the morning street sure i was wearing those shorts the other day that have all the flat roll on it and it looked a little like I was rocking the no pants but nice no I had them on all right well for some reason done away is not answered my call and I don't
Starting point is 00:20:23 know why don't away well come on man yeah you slack her ass mother scratcher maybe you stuck in a meeting you in a meeting I'll ask question mark enter are you protecting your lunch in the break room what is it you are doing
Starting point is 00:20:38 that'd be great can you picture that him hovering over like a meatloaf These are my Pop-Tarts. That's right. He's not even logged into the feud. It is Wednesday, right? Yeah. Today is Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:20:48 I mean, you know, it's good to check our reality here. He sent me a message at 841 just prior to the show about some IGN trailer for a new, let's see, a new animated show called Bullet Time. So I know he's been around this morning. That smells like boss called and said, Don away, get your ass in here. Yeah, kind of does. So in that case, maybe we'll have some. Someone else come in and be the person. Be the done away.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Somebody else can be the done away. You know what? That's what we'll do, given the time that we have. So here's what we're going to do. If you want to be the done away, because we're going to actually, our participants today are patrons who are not here. Okay. There are going to be patrons who are not. Maybe they are here.
Starting point is 00:21:29 I don't know. But we need someone to be the done away. You won't get to buzz in. That's the one part. But we're going to let you give the first answer. Oh, that's great. That's a good point. We have to.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Oh, how do we do this if they're not logged? into the game. I can call them through Discord and send them video of the game. That's not the issue. It's more the, can I, let's see, can I give players?
Starting point is 00:21:57 Okay, I can give players points. Yeah, okay. Okay, you can score for them? I can score for them. Okay, all right, we'll do that because Dunaway is being a slacker ass mother effort. They'll just be called player two. All right,
Starting point is 00:22:08 we're going to pull in. We can try this Josh 3.0. Why not? Let's give him a shot. Oh, it's Josh 3.0. Sure. I had 2.0 and it had bugs. He's up there at Chip Theory Games is who he is.
Starting point is 00:22:21 Oh, I always forget that's the Josh. Yeah. I always mix that up for some reason. Josh, are you there? Hello, Joshua. Joshua 3.0? Does 3.0 have an audio issue? Maybe we go back to 2.0?
Starting point is 00:22:35 Can you roll back? Yeah. Oh, there he is. Hey, Josh. Are you there? we heard you for a hot second now we hear you not at all this is problematic oh no gosh here sorry oh there you are hi how the heck are you oh good are you in a car where are you no i'm at work i just had to switch oh okay okay okay okay so you can hear us now we're good
Starting point is 00:23:03 yeah okay okay okay okay uh john a little bit of lag but we're not too bad we'll work with it Brian, let's start this game off. Tell us first how it works, who we're playing for and all that fun stuff. Sure. I'll have to figure out how to read this. It's time to play the tadpooly feud. I've surveyed the tadpull on some nerdy topics, and Scott and Josh are going to have to predict the answer that they gave us.
Starting point is 00:23:23 It is their job to see how many of those answers they can guess. We're going to pull a couple patrons into the game as well. And if your team wins, you get a prize package, Josh. And our players will get prize packages. is the way we're going to do this. That's great. Three-way prize package? This is fantastic.
Starting point is 00:23:42 Three-way prize package. I'll figure out how to make this work. Anyway, that includes. These three games will be divided up against you and our two patrons. King of the Castle, Risk of Rain 2, and Blazing Chrome. Oh, my gosh. All three. All three.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Yeah. That second one in particular, Risk of Rain 2? Hmm. Sweet. Looter, shooter business. real good. Hooter shooter. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:10 Okay. Great. The Hooter. Risk of Rain is actually being turned into a board game right now by one of my buddies. I heard about that. Oh, really? Oh, I didn't know. It would be somebody you knew.
Starting point is 00:24:18 I should have reached out and asked. We talked about this on CORE, I think, or somewhere like that. That's a weird one to convert, isn't it? How do you guys do that? Yeah. How do you guys take a property that's like, oh, here's a shooter? We need this to play well on a tabletop version. That seems crazy to me.
Starting point is 00:24:35 I don't know. My buddy Ian, he's a developer for them. he's he's really good at that kind of weird stuff wow that's insane conversion all right well that's cool and you know what since you're helping us out so much today and being done away essentially uh Brian we could let him choose whichever game he wants first yeah he's he's automatically going to get first pick and then depending on which of you guys wins that's how we'll determine by the way the patrons you're playing for i should tell you um Scott you're going to be be playing for Dave Nelson on air oh I like Dave Dave Dave's a good guy and
Starting point is 00:25:08 Josh, you're going to be playing for Marcus Venturamo. Ooh, nice. Thank you, patient. I'm not going to try to say that name. No, but he sounds like a guy that would drive a fancy sports car, doesn't he? That's right, Marcus Venturamo in my Ferrari. Oh, and I'll send you some video of this so you can see us.
Starting point is 00:25:25 Oh, yeah, there you go. So now you can see the whole thing. All right. Cool. All right. Let's do this. Okay. So we're not going to do the buzz in.
Starting point is 00:25:33 We're just going to let you, Josh, we're just going to let you have the first answer. and if it's number one, then you get control of the board. Otherwise, Scott gets a chance to beat it. How's that? Josh, what key on your keyboard, on your computer keyboard, do you use the least? Oh, my gosh, dude. Man, I can't get any out letter, just any key. Any key.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Is that your answer to the any key? this is hard because some keyboard the tilde oh that's good the tilday sure all right show me the tilday oh very nice the number two answer the accent and tildy keys uh scott
Starting point is 00:26:21 one answer will beat it what key do you what is the least used key on your computer keyboard I don't think people like that Windows key sure on Windows keyboards the one that I think it opens up the search menu or something and maybe I'm dead wrong, but it always drives me nuts,
Starting point is 00:26:39 so I'm going to save that one. I always hit it accidentally, and it ticks me off. Show me the Windows key. Oh, man. Yeah. Don't, you know, don't feel bad. It was number 12. It really was like one vote out of the running.
Starting point is 00:26:55 It's a bastard key. I hate that thing. But Josh, that means you've got control of the board, and let's see what other answers you can come up with. So what key on your computer keyboard do you use the least? let's try scroll lock that's good scroll lock good old scroll lock boy i've needed i really wish i could lock my scroll down uh show me scroll lock number one answer on the board my favorite marvel villain is scroll lock he's so good luck yeah it's fantastic but the super scroll lock was the best oh right
Starting point is 00:27:31 right right yeah and then it all went downhill he had all the powers of all of the scroll locks yeah he was great um wow well done you're you're way ahead of me you're gonna win this thing keep going three points for josh zero points for scott what else he got it's nice to have a keyboard right in front of me so i can look at all these things you can look yeah you can probably even hold it up to the right the right the light the right way and see which ones have the most uh weird down yeah see which ones are war off the least yeah i'm gonna try alt oh alt's good alt i use alt a lot but i think that some people would choose alt sure um show me Alt.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Oh, wow. Alt's pretty popular. Well, actually, alt was a pretty popular answer to, number 18 in the list. But it's all part of that, all part of that three-finger salute. I'm going to go with that.
Starting point is 00:28:22 I'm going to go at the, that's an unlock, though. Let's see. My keyboard's got different labels because I have this fancy custom thing going. Sure, sure. Let's. I don't think people use their caps lock all that often.
Starting point is 00:28:39 Okay. I'll say caps lock key. I know one person who uses it all of the time. Yeah, I use, yeah, one person who's stuck. There's a stuck. Well, there's a stuck. They're never turning it off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:50 All right. Show me caps lock. Number 11 answer on the board, but, yeah. So people have said it, but not enough to make the top 10. Uh, how about? looking yeah the f12 key if they've probably some keyboards don't even have the f function key like that but let's say the f12 key all right all right show me f12
Starting point is 00:29:18 f12 yeah f12 number 20 oh my gosh now makes me wonder if there's more f keys right um yeah yeah uh def 11 okay we're just gonna go down the line yeah go down the list Sure. Sure. This would be a really boring game.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Show me F-11. Unfortunately, F-11 did not make the list. However, F-11 was number 31. People, apparently, big gap between F-12 and F-11 as far as, like, use. F-Eleven puts your computer into kiosk mode. So, like, you know, you got kids coming over. You want to, like, let them play a game but not have them destroy stuff. Then you can put your laptop.
Starting point is 00:30:06 Topped into kiosk mode. Oh, wild. Okay. Yeah. It doesn't do that on the Mac looks like. I was going to test it and see if I just put myself a kiosk mode. I did not. All right.
Starting point is 00:30:15 Well, that puts it back on you, Josh. What do you got? Let's try insert. Insert. Insert, it's such a useless key. Yeah. All right. Show me.
Starting point is 00:30:26 Insert. Yeah. Never does exactly the thing you think it's going to do. Insert. Number four answer taking up to number seven. Well, seven points, I should say. It's pretty good. You're up by one.
Starting point is 00:30:40 Let's just stay in that area and go with page up. Page up. I didn't know if you'd go to page up or page down. I love that you set up. All right, you got to fear out which one would be used more. I just love how he said it, though. Page up. That was awesome.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Show me, page up. I did lump. I did lump page up and page down together. Number 17 on the list. I'm going to wing this one because I just Yeah, how often people use it though? Ah, maybe not. All right.
Starting point is 00:31:19 We're in the weeds. I don't think we use the backslash very often. We use forward slash quite a bit. The backslash doesn't seem like it gets a lot of love these days. Sure. If you put that in there, you're going to screw up the URL that you're going to going to exactly people do so much URLs now i just feel like it got left behind and also the shift on that is just like a the big long blocker pipe whatever it's called yeah i don't want i don't like that
Starting point is 00:31:43 key so i'm going to say that key all right okay show me backslash pipe yeah number 10 big points yeah i use it i use it for um for web stuff for like uh google analytics and search results so that it you know if i'm working on somebody's website i wanted to come up as um the name of their website pipe their slogan if somebody searches for their home page so that's it i use it sometimes when i need like a like a pipe just to you know create separation yeah yeah yeah because there aren't a lot of options for that it's one that you can use in um mac sorting that doesn't automatically jam it up to the top i think it's true the bottom so it's a nice yeah yeah good point there's probably probably some other use cases we don't even know about for that one yeah probably um okay well that
Starting point is 00:32:36 let's see um just looking at my keyboard i'll try function i know that that can vary based on not only OS but also laptop versus the actual function key yeah often sometimes just fn yeah fn sometimes let's try the function or fn i hate that fn key yeah fn key exactly um show me that F and key number 10 I'm sorry number eight number eight
Starting point is 00:33:04 I'm actually doing okay here yeah um okay F8 is reload for a lot of video games F5 is saved
Starting point is 00:33:13 for a lot of video games F7 is just not used for shit I'm going to say F7 all right show me F7 who Josh this is getting scary here
Starting point is 00:33:24 Scott's at 31 I think actually Scott has made it so he needs to run the board or the two of you need to together run the board in order to get the prizes, although you're getting the prize. Yeah, he's getting a prize in whatever what. Yeah. You're still getting your choice. All right. Well, the only thing, I'm going to stay with functions for a second, because the only thing
Starting point is 00:33:41 less useful than F9 is probably F10. So let's do an F10. All right. Show me F10. Damn it. No, F10. Where is F10? F. Murray, Abraham. 37, really low on the list. Good Lord. All right. Yeah. That's bizarre to me. somebody in the chat is you say um f10 actually um mirrors your display on a second external manager yeah someone somewhere's got use cases i definitely don't have yeah all right oh there we go f10 is a step in debuggers see amy is our programmer knows our yeah knows like here's a person who probably uses every key on the keyboard well we have a lot of coders in our community that makes Yes. On my Mac keyboard, just like Omega 9, F10 on Mac is mute. Art and Chicken says it, too. It's the best thing. It's like quick mute.
Starting point is 00:34:34 Oh, yeah, that's true. Let's see. Does it work on here? My mechanical may not have it tied to it. Oh, might not. Yeah. All right. Josh, it's a back to you, man. That's right. Three answers on the board. Number three, number five, and number nine. Got one of those? Number nine. Number nine. Let's try home. Home, sure. That's nice. You just want to go home. The heart is at home or something. That's right.
Starting point is 00:35:01 Show me home. Home was number 20 on the list. All right, Scott. Well, three answers left on the board. All this is going to do is determine who gets what you guys determine as the better of the two remaining games. Whether it goes to Dave Nelson or Marcus Verre, Vertaramo. A lot of gamers in our core group.
Starting point is 00:35:32 I wonder if somebody used arrow keys because WASD is the new way of doing that. The new hotness. Has been for 20 years, so maybe it's not even on their mind, though. All right. It's going to be a stretch. The delete key on the number pad.
Starting point is 00:35:51 The DEL key, right? Yeah. The one that, Would have killed Justin Long if you'd only pressed it. If it's a notebook, this is going to screw me because no one has those. But yeah, let's aim for that.
Starting point is 00:36:03 All right. Show me Dell. Give me a Dell. Sweet. Damn it. Yep. Dude, you're getting a Dell key. That delete key, by the way,
Starting point is 00:36:17 is where was it? It was on here. It's also a period, right? Oh, is it? Well, I think so. It acts as a period. can in the numb keys like you do a dot like 50 you're doing two bucks two dot zero
Starting point is 00:36:29 yeah right which is probably why it's not considered less used because people do money on there all the time if you're doing right exactly if you're entering a bunch of numbers and you just keep your hand on that right side then that's useful uh show me number three print screen
Starting point is 00:36:45 yeah no one does that you know you've got all those over there you were looking at all the other ones I'm surprised you didn't pick that one number five right there in the same area I use that one the time though so do you do you just make screens shots with it that's what that's what you have screenshots yeah yeah oh my pc i use the i got so used to doing the um come or the uh control f1 for the way am or not amd nvida does it now because i'm nvita's got its own like full capture of both video and screenshot thing and i just got into that habit so it seems like the print
Starting point is 00:37:17 screen button never get used but i didn't think about your use case that's a good one yeah all right Brian, what else on there? Number five, yep, Sean Bloom just said at the pause slash break key. Oh, mine says, mine says boom because it's all comic book themed. Which makes sense, boom, you're breaking something. If you look at this, they're all like little comic-y words and stuff and up top on those, these. I love it. They all say, instead of page up, page down, it says, ah, boom, and bang.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Nice. And finally, this is what is great. number nine Z oh really command Z right exactly Z all the time
Starting point is 00:38:00 some other great answers I mean on how great these are num lock Q F1 F6 end left bracket right bracket X upward carrot
Starting point is 00:38:12 see I didn't count like if it was well I did count it because I put in there but a lot of people said like things that are you get to
Starting point is 00:38:21 with a shift key right like you use a number and then shift and it's like no you know people use six all the time so it's not a very uh i wonder what like statistically it's probably a way to find this out somebody's done to study but what's the most common probably space bar is the most common key used it's got to be got to be right because you're always making spaces enter happens a lot but that only at the end of a line so space bars i'll bet space bar's like your king if i guess probably probably uh any key uh three people said that um Um, uh,
Starting point is 00:38:52 options, semi-colon, colon, uh, uh, break. Oh, that's break with pause.
Starting point is 00:38:59 Option. How dare they? I use it constantly. I do too. I use option all the damn time. Yeah, it's a part of a bunch of shortcuts. It's great.
Starting point is 00:39:06 The left shift key. Because of course, you've got two shift keys. People apparently use that left one far less than the right one. You know what? You're right. Hold on. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:39:16 way, way less. I barely touch it. Yep. Power key. hamburger menu key G5, I don't know, I guess that's if you have a
Starting point is 00:39:27 Logitech gaming keyboard. I guess you've got a G5 key. And finally dollar sign, send in by one person, probably in Europe. Yeah, okay, there's a question for you. If I go into a micro center type place in like, I don't know, the
Starting point is 00:39:46 UK, is it a pound dollar? Yeah, I'm sure. What's above the four? Yeah. And then do you call the pound stilling. And do they call the pound sign still the pound sign or they got to give that a different name? Hashtag. What do they call that over there? Oh, oh, the actual pound sign, the octothorpe. Yeah, maybe they just straight up say that. I doubt they say octothorpe. They probably say number sign. Oh, probably number sign. Yeah. Yeah. That's an easy way to do it. But do they have like, do you also get keyboards that have the euro? Like if you go to a micro center
Starting point is 00:40:18 in the UK, do you still, even though you don't use the Euro, do you still have options for a keyboard that has the Euro symbol? Probably have to do like a control option and then a key or something. Maybe, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Maybe we have that for other currencies. I don't know. We do. Yeah, we can do yen with shift option dollar sign, or maybe it's... Oh, here it is. UK keyboard layout is based on the ISO standard and typically includes 102 to 105 keys. It features unique enter key shaped like a 7 and a dedicated key for the pound sign or sorry for the pound dollar meaning pound yeah it also includes additional symbols and diuretics
Starting point is 00:40:56 diuretics diuretics oh diacritics you're like yeah diacritics you're like umlots and accents and right it doesn't say anything about uh i assume the same key though everyone's always going to use the four for the shift whatever their currency or whatever your local money is yeah that could make sense uh for me it would just say pow or caduce or something like that. Anyway, well, well done to everybody involved. Brian, let's let, well, first of all, I guess you get to pick your prize. What do you like out of those games? So Josh, your first choice, you get first choice, King of the Castle, Risk of Rain 2 and Blazing Chrome. What do you like? I'll take that risk of rain. Yeah. That'll please your friend, right? Make a note of this. Yeah. We all trying to please our friends. That's what we do. That's right. Scott, you get to determine what Dave Nelson on air gets. All right. Dave Nelson on air, who clearly the winner here, I'm going to give you. Blazing Chrome, I think, is the better game. Cool. Marcus Vern Tamilla and Mingma.
Starting point is 00:42:00 You get. Vertirama. You get King of the Castle. You are King of the Castle. Like from that Seinfeld episode where they were all trying to not do stuff to themselves. Master of your domain? I'm king of the castle. That's right.
Starting point is 00:42:13 Master of your domain. Well, dude, thanks for stepping in. I still haven't heard from Dunaway. hopefully everything's okay yeah he's probably stuck in a meeting or something who knows what's going worried about him now yeah and good luck to your friend on his conversion of that game i think that just sounds awesome uh and i would be very curious about it when it comes out uh stay safe say how to your wife and don't forget to print screen okay all right there he goes make sure to get those two game codes out to since you've got their info oh yeah no problem
Starting point is 00:42:41 to marcus and dave i just got josh's code so yep no problem i'll definitely do that um okay That's going to do it for that. Let's do some. The Wraith says three is pound sterling, four is dollar sign on the British keyboard. So what do you, what's your number sign then, the Wraith?
Starting point is 00:42:58 Where's your hashtag? I guess you could have it. Let's see. Well, I'm sure we could get images of this somewhere, but probably. Nice thing about these keyboards is that you can swap keys out depending on where you are.
Starting point is 00:43:12 So microseenter.com. My brother, my brother's got a Korean keyboard and it's a nightmare. I don't know what anything is on there. It looks like going to, it's like a Cardassian spaceship in there when you use it. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Well, that sure differs from what Claire says. She says, only the U.S. has a different keyboard. Whatever. That's the most predictable thing Claire has ever said. Exactly. What would Claire say? You guys have to have your own keyboard.
Starting point is 00:43:41 Yes. I do you oppressing the rest of the world. We're all together in this, Claire. Me, you, Brian, we're all in it. That's right. Committing your genocide with your fancy keyboard. Killing beef every day. Eating it on buns.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Do you think Devorak uses a Devorak keyboard? I hope so. I really hope so. Like, why would you even exist? I know, exactly. Like, if you're not going to do that, go change your name. Because then can he type his name? Oh, no, that's never mind.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Devorak is not, like, it's not like QWERTY where the first. six characters are Dvorak but that'd be great oh yeah yeah that's right if you can just say you know you're typing your name you just go there's your name's right I'm gonna change my into the Larry QWERTY so I can just go I guess it's possible to reassign yeah you can program these keys to do it that'd be fun you do it with your number key because you don't use it very often you just go one three four five yeah right there's your name I like it all right we're gonna do some news real quick got one story to get to and that'll be right now.
Starting point is 00:44:48 You guys, it's time for the news, and it's brought to you by. Antlers on a Honda. I saw a Honda CRV with antlers on the front. Like, sure. Like deer antlers. Like deer antlers, like they think they're in a RAM-1500, basically. It was like Boss Hog or something. Sure.
Starting point is 00:45:06 So stupid. Uranus emits more heat than previously thought. I think you picked this article only to say that headline. I mean, I'll admit, that was part of it. It was part of it. Uranus, it's not pronounced that way. Uranus, uranus, as the proper scientists say. That's right.
Starting point is 00:45:29 Amidst more energy than it gets from the sun, according to two new studies. A discovery that contradicts findings from the venerable Voyager spacecraft. That's the one with the naked guy going, rah. When Voyager... The Vitruvian... Vitruvian dude is oh no I guess it's what's it called I don't know what he's called they've got it's well it's the Vitruvian man is the um is that famous one of the you know yeah the Vinci thing but they're the one in Voyager was just a naked dude standing there next to a naked woman oh he has they had their hands up or something to show that they have five fingers oh I thought Voyager was the one with the guy the divinci looking guy I didn't know that Trovian I think it's just oh well Voyager two you're right that one has the two people you're totally right
Starting point is 00:46:14 Voyager 1, I think, had actually had that guy. Have the Vitruvian man image in there? In this book I'm reading, that's how they crucify people, is in a big circle. Oh, just like the, just like the interesting. It's like a cross, except it's both legs and it's stretched out, and they call it the circlet. And in this fake religion, in this fantasy book I'm reading, they all, like the, essentially the Catholic Church of this fake church has, everyone wears a circlet. so instead of a cross. Gotcha.
Starting point is 00:46:45 So they're always touching the circlet. And instead of doing the points of the cross, like the thing you do, they just like do a circle with their finger. I come to bear when they want to say they're sorry. Yeah. They just do. Yeah, they just do a little thing.
Starting point is 00:46:58 Yeah. Anyway, so because of this, they're going to have to change what we think about the planet. When Voyager 2 sped past Uranus on January 24th, 19806, that was a long time ago. It is. What was I doing then? Let's think.
Starting point is 00:47:12 because making out with Amy her name was not this Amy not our Amy what different Amy spacecraft detected no significant excess heat from the planet making it seemingly unique among the sun's giant worlds however new observations
Starting point is 00:47:28 from space and ground-based telescopes reveal that Uranus does in fact radiate more energy than the sun provides two research teams found out at the R-A-RXIV.org is the place where you can go look at this in late February. Uranus is not as odd as we thought it was, says planetary scientist
Starting point is 00:47:46 Patrick Irwin on the University of Oxford campus, a co-author of the studies, plural. Studies. Studies. I don't like studies. Both teams said that Uranus, which takes 84 years to orbit the sun, damn.
Starting point is 00:48:04 Wow. By the way, quick clarification from BioCo. He says it looks like it was the pioneer spacecraft that had the man-woman image, not Voyager. Really? Because I thought that's why a bald lady Star Trek won, Viger. I thought she, like there was something with that image that, what was her name? Not Isis. What was her name? Yeah, there's the. Here's the people. I found it too right here, right? It's just the one you're talking about. That's what I could have sworn was in Voyager.
Starting point is 00:48:40 Could we be more boring with this? The aliens are going to look at this and go, you guys are boring. Hey, hey, how's it going? You know, most men are on average taller than our women, so we'll indicate that with this little deal here. Yeah, it's boring. You know, all of this makes sense. It's like, oh, wow, okay, yeah, we, this is the planet we came from down there, and here's what our people look like. There's a weiner.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Yeah, there's a wiener. Hey, aliens, we got wieners. We, you know, I don't know why we have to have Brazilians, but we didn't shave our heads for this, but everything else. But then you've got that hydrogen thing up in the top left. Yeah, what is that? Here's something we're really proud that we figured out on our own. Hey, you guys, check it out. Without any help.
Starting point is 00:49:33 Don't these things. I think it's like a, I think it's like it tells you what the atmosphere is made from or something. Isn't there some smart, intelligent reason they had that up there, but... Let's see, planets of solar... Okay. Yeah, I mean, I'm sure a lot of thought went into this. I, you know, I don't know what they were doing, but... Did Voyager...
Starting point is 00:49:52 So, Voyager had the, um, the magic record player. I think so, right? Yeah. They had a bunch of, basically a time capsule of audio of various people, voices, songs. I think that's right. Oh, my God. I did a search for Voyager. record player.
Starting point is 00:50:10 I found this and now I want it. Show me, show me. I'm going to put Stick it in Discord here. I'll just copy the image. It'll be in Discord right. Coming up.
Starting point is 00:50:21 Excellent. Right now. Excellent. Right under Scott playing switch on his. Yeah, while I wait for it, folks, just never forget. Never forget this.
Starting point is 00:50:34 I need to share that in the Tennis. It looks like this? yes that's a that's not the one on voyager oh oh oh oh that is um a turntable you can buy for 2200 bucks that looks like the dark side of the moon that's awesome isn't that freaking incredible oh my gosh i kind of want that yeah of course you do i do too i don't need it but i want it no no the turntable i really want is the one that does uh vertical like you can basically mount it on the wall and put your albums on it like you you clip your album in and it just
Starting point is 00:51:08 You know, it takes up so much less space because you can mount it on the wall. My only beef with this is it looks like it costs money. It's a trip. $2,200 bucks. Ain't none of that soupy doopy doopy bullshit or however it goes. How does that song go? No, you got it. It's right.
Starting point is 00:51:24 I hate that song. Yeah, David Gilmore insisted on the line being soupy doopy doopy bullshit. Yeah. It's my least favorite song from Pink Floyd. I really don't like it. I don't like it. It's got sound effects of a cashing. What do you call it? Cash register. I just, I hate it. I hate it. All the other songs in there, bangers, amazing.
Starting point is 00:51:44 You get a new car, caviar, four-star daydream. Think I'll buy me a football team. Oh, so bad. Just a bad song. It's there. I got my mindset on you. I'll just say it. Wow. All right. Well, there's your new story. We're going to take a break. When we come back, we will spend some time with Tom Merritt. And then we get some recommendals. We have Nicole today. Randy's got a thing at work. Very busy with the work business lately. But that's all coming up after this. Brian, play us your little Indian. Oh, this is so great. Big thanks to Photo Finish Records and Chrysalis for sending me this one. And Kenzie over there at Big Hassel Media, a big hassle.
Starting point is 00:52:23 This is a band called She's Green. She's Green. The new album is called, oh, I guess we don't have a new album title. We just have this single. The single is called Willow. It comes out, oh, no, it's a five. It's an EP. is the album chrysalis maybe the album is chrysalis this thing is written very poorly
Starting point is 00:52:43 um is it willow like the movie like they're fans of the movie well the song is called willow is it all is it talking there about like hey i have no i no it doesn't mention anything about being fans of uh about kilmer okay um but anyways she's green is a minneapolis based dream Inducing 5-piece composed of vocalist Zofia Smith Liam Armstrong Reins Lucas
Starting point is 00:53:06 Teddy Norvoid and drummer Kevin Seabek This is like If you like the Sundays You're gonna love this Oh You had me at Sundays
Starting point is 00:53:15 I love them Yeah Yeah You're gonna trust me You're gonna love it She's green The single is called Willow Check it out right now
Starting point is 00:53:23 Well, well, well, well, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, on my hell, and my head. want to share you each and safe with me hear play the pieces of we can read it all to chance plant the water cool
Starting point is 00:54:19 we can learn to understand stand. I feel, oh, oh, oh, I'm blue,
Starting point is 00:55:01 blue, and oh, and oh, oh, oh, oh, I'm shaving
Starting point is 00:55:14 with the sun of the light How you made me But the belief that you're alive Like the branches We can keep what we have Let the seasons grow We can learn to start again
Starting point is 00:55:52 Hi, I'm Jana. I'm looking for, I'm not sure. I should have put the bandage on his mouth. And we're back. Tell me who that was again. You bet that is a band called She's Green. The song is called Willow, their new EP. comes out August 15th. If you like this, you're going to love the rest of it. Uh, she's
Starting point is 00:56:28 green and willow. Awesome. I want to check it out. Yeah, you do. I listen to the Sundays occasionally still. I'll just pull them up to just get in the mood. So great. Yeah. Nothing wrong with those guys. Isn't technology wonderful? Oh, it sure can be. Let me tell you how we know that for sure, because Tom Merritt comes on this program and he talks all about the technology of the day so that we don't have to. Well, we kind of talk about it too. But anyway, hey, it's Tom Merritt, everybody. What's going on, man? Oh, you're muted. That's what's going on.
Starting point is 00:56:55 You're muted. We can't do. But look how excited he was when he was talking. He was. What was funny was that I was making a joke that you all should shut up because I'm the only one who could talk about technology, but you couldn't hear me. The irony. There's some irony there.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Yeah. Oh, it's too much irony. Hey, man, it's good to see you. I hope your week is going, you know, as well as a week can go for Tom Merritt, you know? Yeah. Yeah. it is. It's lovely. Eileen's dad is here visiting us, you know, so we've had some nice dinners and
Starting point is 00:57:28 hangouts and stuff. Sounds all right. Yeah, I think I may come down there and just bust in and... Yeah, come on over. Let's just make it happen. It's just making it happen. It's only 12 hours. I'll be there in no time. It'll be fine. No problem. Well, it's 12 hours? To drive, but... Oh, to drive. Yeah, I probably shouldn't do that. Hey, it's Tom Merritt, everybody. Ace to Tech.
Starting point is 00:57:47 You know I'm from All Things Daily Tech News Show, and that is a lot of other stuff, too, a lot great stuff like headlines. Depending on who you are. Yeah. Some of you may know me as the guy who walks seven the dog if you live in my neighbor. That's true. I don't want to leave them out. Yeah, that guy. But he's always coming here on the show on Wednesdays with a little bit of tech knowledge. What's going on today that we should be paying attention to? So Apple has a new AppleCare option for you. AppleCare is what you might call an extended warranty or an insurance service. I like to think of it as a maintenance plan. because extended warranty always rubs me the wrong way because you should just warrant your device, right?
Starting point is 00:58:27 You shouldn't have to pay to extend that. Exactly. You know, it's a warranty or it's not. And who cares if it's regular or extended? Come on. Right, right. Whereas, you know, if you're like, hey, pay us a fee and we'll fix stuff for you, you know, under this plan, I'm like, okay, it's like a maintenance contract.
Starting point is 00:58:46 I can hang with that. So the new one is let me hold on I think I got this number wrong 1999 there we go 1999 a month oh a month you can cover three devices up to three devices for $20 a month
Starting point is 00:59:03 so it's it's the best Apple care plan you can get it's called AppleCare 1 you can add it to any device within 60 days of purchase or if you have an active AppleCare Plus plan already. So it's older than 60 days, but you've got it covered. But once you've added one device
Starting point is 00:59:27 under those terms, then any other device you have that's still working and less than four years old can be added as well. Oh, all right. That was the part I was worried about because that seemed very limiting and made it seem like, well, I got to buy two more devices to get it on this list. Yeah, right. Or I got to wait until I buy three devices for this to be worth it. Yeah, yeah. So the next time you buy a device basically, you could add existing devices that are less than four years old. Or if you've got an AppleCare Plus plan on your device, you convert to it now and add two more devices. This is really for people who are Apple fans, right? This is not for somebody who only has an iPhone. That AppleCare Plus is still better for you there. But if you're like, well, I've got a Mac
Starting point is 01:00:07 and an iPad and an Apple TV, right? Maybe you don't even have an iPhone. Then it still might be worth it. Again, if you can qualify under those terms. $20 a month is not cheap, but it does cover unlimited device repairs. If you drop it, you spill water on it. You can get battery replacements under this. Obviously, free tech support 24-7. And protection from loss and theft, which is something like, if you're like, well, I don't know, the Best Buy plan is cheaper and maybe better. They usually don't cover those. So that's kind of a nice perk on that. So just so I understand it, I get, let's say, I buy a new notebook today. Sure.
Starting point is 01:00:49 New MacBook Air, sweet. All right. So I get this new plan. Under that plan, I can add, assuming it qualifies, although I assume some carrier stuff may interfere with this with phones. So we won't use a phone for a second. Let's say I add my watch to it and I add my iPad M4 Pro. Those are now all.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Those are both less than four years old. No problem. Exactly. So we're under the limit on the time. and now what's the perpetuity on that? Is it forever? $20 a month? Forever.
Starting point is 01:01:19 As long as you're paying your $20 a month, you will get. So in theory, if they still run the program eight years from now, this same watch is still under that coverage. Is that the idea? Yeah, and I think the idea is, I'll have to look and see if there's anything in the very fine print about like, you know, I want the device is 10 years old. We don't cover it anymore.
Starting point is 01:01:39 I didn't see any of that yet. I'm guessing they don't think that's a big problem. because people upgrade their devices faster than that, and you're always going to want your newest device on this. For example, if you trade in an iPhone or anything, if you trade in a device for a new device, it automatically transfers to your new device. So if you've got that iPad under this plan,
Starting point is 01:02:03 and then you're like, ooh, I want the new M12 iPad, and you trade in your old iPad, then you automatically move that one to the new plan. So they figure your three newest devices are always going to be the ones you want to cover under here. You can also add additional devices. It costs an extra $6 if you want to add more than three. It's not bad. I expected that to be higher.
Starting point is 01:02:26 I don't know why. I don't know. You know what? I don't think this is all that bad. This seems like a decent deal. If you're in the ecosystem and you've got three devices, if you got one, don't do it. Because that seems dumb. And is the other plan staying?
Starting point is 01:02:38 The plus one you mentioned is not leaving. Yes. If you only have one device, you can still get AppleCare Plus. on that device. They're not getting rid of that plan. They're also not getting rid of the 90 day service and the one-year warranty that comes with everything else. Nothing else is changing. This is just a new option. I'm actually kind of tempted by this. And I don't like one more. I don't want any more monthly subscriptions. No, I know. But this one's like, you know, as many times as I've dropped something and whatever. Yeah, or just in actual honesty, I think I've only had to use AppleCare once
Starting point is 01:03:12 and all the years I've been using. I rarely get it because I don't ruin or break and their stuff just doesn't break. Yeah. So usually I get like 10 years out of their stuff anyway with or without a warranty. So or extended warranty, I should say. But I think this is not too bad of a bite for what it covers. If you really have enough devices, if you've got three relatively under four year new devices that are critical for what you do,
Starting point is 01:03:38 like my studio here is very important every day. my iPad Pro, very important to everything I do. I'd come up with a third one. For sure, yeah. It seems like maybe a deal. Yeah. And it doesn't have to be all. I mean, I could have, I could sneak one of Kim's things in here, right?
Starting point is 01:03:54 Like her notebook or her phone. Yeah, they do say it has to be on your account. Okay. And I don't know. Because it works with family, like that family. I assume Apple, oh yeah, AppleCare One plans can cover devices that are on the same Apple account as the subscriber. So if you're on a family plan, you know, if you're on, if you've, if you've, if you've, if you've,
Starting point is 01:04:12 got that, then Kim could be on. Okay. And we do. So that would work. All right. This is, this is actually kind of good. I was ready to be all snarky about it and like, uh, Apple care, trying to make me think you care. Like, I still don't like the name, but I think that this is actually kind of a decent value for what it does. Yeah. Although I'd be so pissed. This is probably a thing where I would do it. And in 10 years, never needed it. That would be my luck. It's, well, that is the thing. It's like insurance. The only time you need it is if you don't have it. Yeah. You know, it's like, you don't have it. It knows.
Starting point is 01:04:43 It knows you don't have insurance like that. That's what things are going to get. Yeah. And Apple, from my experience with Apple, let's say what you want, haters, but their stuff just lasts a long time. It doesn't break.
Starting point is 01:04:53 I don't really have issues. It lasts longer than my interest in the device. Yeah. Yeah. As a result, Brian's got every iPod ever and they all work. That's right. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:02 Even that Zoom works, but that's a Microsoft thing. Oh, the Zoom's great. Squartz songs all over the place. There you go. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, but a quick scan of the small print.
Starting point is 01:05:13 I did not find an end date for AppleCare 1. Okay. Here you go then. I guess as long as you keep paying, it's covered. And yeah, I've used Express Replacement where I dropped a phone, cracked the screen, and they sent me a new one. I sent my old one back, so I never lost a day of using my phone, and that's the one I got now.
Starting point is 01:05:35 Now, granted, this could be a refurbed iPhone that I have now instead of a brand new one, but I didn't have to pay for it and it got replaced without me missing the day of using my phone, so I'm not going to complain. Sure, sure. All right. Well, this is great. I like this. This seems like a decent thing.
Starting point is 01:05:51 It would be interesting to see if other popular device makers who have, you know, the Samsung ecosystem, maybe they'll respond with something similar. I don't know what their current plans are. Yeah, they all have their own warranty system. So I don't know that any of them, I know the Best Buy and other retailers have this sort of thing. But I don't know if any of the device makers do. So feedback at Dailytechnewshow.com, if you're like, actually yes yeah this brand does and if any of you are out there working for like i don't know
Starting point is 01:06:15 t-mobile or verizon or something do the phones that you the subsidy based like every year new phone deals does that preclude this from that possibly to get their own weird warranty why it would this is just a repair plan yeah it's nothing to do with the service right yeah yeah this is just a this is a maintenance plan that you can add on so it doesn't affect your term and like i said when you trade in, you can replace your new one. You can put the new one on the planet and remove the old one pretty easily, it sounds like that. I'll just go ahead and cancel a couple of other subs and maybe do this. Maybe that's how important to note, depending on when you're listening this. If you're listening to this live, this starts July 24th. Yeah. If you're listening to
Starting point is 01:06:58 this later on July 24th, then great. You can go sign up right now. There you go. July 24th, Pioneer Day here in Salt Lake City. Oh, that's probably why Apple did. That's exactly why. behind it. That's a real reason. Well done, guys. You did it. More fireworks for everyone. All right.
Starting point is 01:07:13 Tom Merritt, anything else going on in your world you should tell us about? No. I'm going to be, if you listen to Rich on Tech, Rich DeMuro, I'm going to be a guest on his show this weekend on Saturday to tune in or stream in for that at 11 a.m. Pacific-ish. And then, you know, if you want to get updated on anything I'm doing, I'm actually on a digital Hollywood panel. that's this morning. But that'll be available on demand. So you can go check out the digital hollywood.com site for that. Just talking about how creators, independent creators like myself,
Starting point is 01:07:48 and you deal with the big industry, the studios and all of that. Sure. So, yeah, lots of stuff going on. You can keep track of it at freetomnewsletter.com. Nice. It is Ace Detector looking for on the socials, everyone. Follow him there. He will lead you never astray.
Starting point is 01:08:01 We'll see you, Tom. All righty. Yes. We did that. We did do that. it's done. Yeah, it's, we did it, we're done. Now, the question is, did we hear from Nicole? Because I don't see her in the room and she never sent me a clip. So it may be the Scott and Brian recommendals hour. Well, I mean, yeah, she, uh, it's true. I haven't seen her pop into a chat either. Usually
Starting point is 01:08:34 she pops into chat. Yeah, it's usually something. Oh, we did hear, by the way, Claire, yeah, we did hear from done away internet went down at his company so oh shit couldn't and he didn't have his phone with him he was in somebody else's office helping them and um so it didn't have a chance to uh to reply so uh i had to be something we knew it something like that but i didn't see i didn't see the update that's good to hear i'm glad it wasn't something catastrophic exactly although i guess that kind of is from a technical standpoint but done away you've earned two pop tarts in the break room that's that's right and and more if you want it we're not more yeah add more and more and more and more Tell him what he's one bomb.
Starting point is 01:09:11 A lot more than that. All right. I'll see if I can ping her once again. In the meantime, we may as well just start it and get going here. So here we go. Well, what do you recommend? We could pull Dunaway into a feud now and see how he does with the keys on the keyboard. Yeah, I wonder how he'd do.
Starting point is 01:09:29 He has a lot of keys. He does some Linux bullshit. He has some Mac stuff. He's into it. No key goes untapped. No, he's always tapping. No, he's always tapping. that, if you know what I mean.
Starting point is 01:09:39 Yeah. Brian, let's get started with these recommendals. These are streaming things we've seen on various services that we think you at home might enjoy as well. And we have a grand tradition typically here on the show where Brian starts. And we're not changing that today. Let's not change it. Well, fine.
Starting point is 01:09:56 I'm happy to start this one. This one, because one of the actors is going to be in something that I'm excited to see this week, it's just been kind of revealed that an actor from this film is going to be. in first steps in a mysterious role I wanted to watch this it reminded me that I saw the trailer for this and really wanted to watch it
Starting point is 01:10:19 and I'm a little I won't say I'm a little disappointed but let's get to the audio clip and then we'll talk about it afterwards here we go so what do you want to press your luck Travis to the camera please honestly yes please
Starting point is 01:10:35 okay so every morning I wake up up to the smell of bacon on the griddle, eggs on the stove, and sometimes burnt toast. Don't tell my wife I said that. And me and Patricia and our little one, we gather around the breakfast table and we watch your show until I have to go to work. It's our little ritual.
Starting point is 01:11:00 Little of an audition. Oh, can I just say, I'm sorry, Mr. Cruthers, I just want to say that you are, you're like a hero in our home. Oh, stories like yours help me know that my time's not wasted. Not at all. I love the show. I've probably seen every episode. You know, if your presents aren't allowed, I can take the playback. So if you can't please get the real, Travis, a couple t-shirts and let him know that we'll be with him in a second.
Starting point is 01:11:31 Hey, Jim. Can you get this guy off the lot, please? Oh, my goodness. I love, I heard what's his name. I forgot his name, but I love him. David Stratheron. There he is. Yeah, Stratharine. He's great. And of course, the main voice you're hearing there is Paul Walter Houser, who, you know, from everything recently. The dude started out in that, that movie about the guy who found the bomb at the Olympics, the Atlanta Olympics. The Richard Jule guy. Is that the guy? That's it. The Richard, and that was the name of the movie, Richard Jules. Thank you. And then he's just been in everything ever since. Everything from Cobra Kai to some biopic about Bruce Springsteen.
Starting point is 01:12:16 I mean, the dudes and everything. Good after. Very good. And he's going to be in first steps, fantastic four first steps this week. Do we know the character? We probably don't. Or do we? We do because I accidentally stumbled on it, but I'm not going to say anything.
Starting point is 01:12:31 Okay. Yeah, we won't look at it or tell you guys, but he's, I've seen his face in some of the screenshots, but I don't know who we're looking at there yet. Yeah. Yeah. So, um, uh, this movie is called the luckiest man in America. And you heard a little bit about, um, press your luck in there. This is, this is a, a, not a fictionalization, but based on the real dude, um, uh, Michael Larson, who, uh, totally scammed. Press Your Luck in 1984 by figuring out the pattern that the highlight moves around on the Press Your Luck board, around the whammies and all the prizes. And he was able to figure it out and basically take the producers of Press Your Luck for what would have been over $100,000, what would have been the biggest payout in game show history to that point. And you've got Walton Goggins playing Peter Tamarck.
Starting point is 01:13:31 you've got Maisie Williams you know Arias Stark as a as a tech or an assistant on the on the show it's a little
Starting point is 01:13:44 disappointing because the actual story is so amazing in and of itself they didn't need to further dramatize or change the
Starting point is 01:13:54 change the story and Syrinx brings up the thing that I'm going to bring up also is that Brushwood and Jury's World's Greatest Con, Season 2, which dealt with game show scandals,
Starting point is 01:14:10 one of the episodes talked about this very one. The March 7th episode talked about this very con. And the dude involved with this, what's his face, Michael Larson. They get, you know, they basically do a lot, they capture a lot of the rich. real story of it. And they even show like a little bit of the video, uh, as they do with these based on a true story, things where they show a little bit of the video of the,
Starting point is 01:14:38 the guy. But it, um, they add a lot of stuff in there that they probably didn't need to, um, to further make it dramatic. And that's why it's a, um, and not quite a full recommendal. It's a good companion piece to the true story. If you go listen to that episode of World's Greatest Khan. Um, and I'll watch Paul Walter Hauser and and Goggins, for that matter, in anything. You know, they're both so, so good. Gagins are the host of the show? The fictional host, I mean?
Starting point is 01:15:08 Well, the real host. He plays, he does play Peter Tamarkin, and he does a pretty good job of impersonating Peter Tamarkin. Maybe a little bit of a scummier version, you know, in the off, when the cameras are off kind of thing. Was he known to be too good for this kind of thing? A D-Bag off-air? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:15:26 I don't know how the real story of Peter Tamarkin, but this is the only thing I ever knew, Peter Tamarkin from. He wasn't like one of these game show hosts that bounces around from like eight different game shows. It's Johnny Knoxville doing this thing. What's he doing? I'm trying to remember who he played. It was a blink and
Starting point is 01:15:43 you'll miss it kind of character. Leon Hart. I think it's somebody from Michael Larson's past. So you really, it's very, very brief. Something brief. Okay. Yeah. Well, I mean, you know, great cast. David Stratherin, a lot of Walton
Starting point is 01:16:00 Gagins and of course a ton of Paul Walter Houser. Director, I don't know them from any of these others. Yeah, yeah. Bad luck goat, cactus blossom. I don't know what those are. You know, exactly. So I know, and Luke, I agree, actually. He figured it's almost like card counting.
Starting point is 01:16:22 You're not cheating because you don't have advanced knowledge of what the cards are. He figured out the pattern and they were dumb for only having a hand- full of different patterns that the light follows and so I agree I don't feel like it was cheating I feel like he's still played by the the rules of the game but um there were you know for those asking or for anyone listening at home and forgets that was Luke in the chat room is who that was oh yeah because you said Luke I know that as if there was a Luke here sorry that's not a big deal you should do whatever you want but people at home just know there is no Luke in the room I was replying to someone in the chat room about
Starting point is 01:17:00 about the cheating. So wait, so has this been, I thought I saw this on like some Oscar people's list and stuff. Am I making that up? I guess I am. Yeah. Because you're definitely,
Starting point is 01:17:13 the vibe I'm getting from you is this shouldn't be on that kind of list. This shouldn't be on an Oscar list. No. I mean, it's, it's entertaining. And I'd say, if you're interested of the story, it's definitely worth a watch. But pair it up with the,
Starting point is 01:17:27 the episode of World's Greatest Con that goes with it to get more of the real story behind it. Was he really an ice cream driver before all that, or ice cream truck driver? Yeah, both the real, the real character or the real person and Hauser's character and this thing are nice. He actually drove the ice cream truck from Ohio to be on Pressure Luck. So it sits there in the parking lot, but that comes into play for the movie when you get a little bit more information about what's inside that ice cream truck. What's the year, uh, year, it's 70s, obviously. Oh, 84. It looks like 70s to me.
Starting point is 01:18:02 Okay. It does. It's a very like that orange, that, uh, burnt orange color that was in everything. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Some of these suits, these ties are awful wide. Super wide.
Starting point is 01:18:12 Yeah. I mean, those, that was some of the 70s bad style choices bleeding into the 80s. I kind of want to see this just for the performances. You know what? And I'm like, I'm not going to say that it's not, it's only disappointing if you know the real story. So really, maybe that's, the kind of the caveat. If you don't know the real story,
Starting point is 01:18:29 watch this, and then go listen to the world's greatest con and get both sides of it. How do we know this? I know this Shamir Anderson. How do I know him? Invasion, I haven't seen invasion yet. John Wick, Chapter 4. But you haven't seen 4 yet. No, I don't, why is he so familiar to me? He's super familiar. Stowe
Starting point is 01:18:49 we watched, and I recommend told it's a sci-fi thing. I found it, Goliath. That's what I remember. Oh, Goliath, of course. Yeah, it was great. It was Anton on that. yes uh well that's cool i you know i think i'm going to see it it's even though you know i i know what you're trying to say we don't really have a category for it here on the show like it's kind of sechimental it's like a meh commental but it's more than a mecumental like it's a it's a it's a i'd give it a seven and a half out of ten like it's not a ten seven and a half
Starting point is 01:19:19 like i usually like to recommendal things i will you know i will throw something out too since we don't have uh uh uh nicole here yet um There's no way I could do a clip from this because you wouldn't understand the language. But there was another thing I watched called Our Times. And it is a Spanish comedy drama film about time travel. A couple with the premise is so good. But the ending is so disappointing. But it's about a couple.
Starting point is 01:19:52 What's the name of it again? Mexican couple. It's called Our Times. Yeah, you can pull up the IMDB on it. Sure. It's about a couple in the 60s, 1960s, who come up with a time machine, a brilliant scientist and his brilliant wife, who's also a teacher. And they use the time machine to make it to 2025, where all of a sudden she's not experiencing the level of misogyny that she was experiencing in 1966. and he gets derided because of his use of, you know, the terms little lady and women, am I right?
Starting point is 01:20:30 And things like that. Like all of a sudden, his chauvinism is detriment to his success and her brilliance is a key to her success. More acceptable in a modern age. Exactly. And so the the conundrum is he wants to go back to the past. She doesn't. Do you watch this in subtitles or do the... I did. I watched it in subtitles.
Starting point is 01:20:54 And it's good, except for the ending. Okay. Yeah, a lot of the reviews reflect that. It's not doing great review-wise. It's not doing great. And you look at that first review, it's like, this would be better except for the heavy-handed feminism. Well, these people can eat a poo.
Starting point is 01:21:09 Who cares about them? Actim is both in very cliche. Besides, it was obvious that there was no chemistry. All right. Leather better are too familiar fae on camera. Yeah. Anyway. Anyway.
Starting point is 01:21:19 It's, you know, it's a, it's a very, it's a very feminism positive movie. I think it would, it would have done so much better if it weren't for the ending. The ending is a little disappointing, but, uh, there you go. Mexico or Spain or is it? I think, I think Mexico. Oh, no, I'm sorry, because it's, it's the, it's not Mexican University. It's Madrid University. So Spain.
Starting point is 01:21:45 Sorry about that. Okay. Cool. Yeah. I like, I like these international. efforts. I do too. Yeah. You know, it's funny me taking a break from watching things with Korean things with subtitles to watch something Spanish with some time. Yeah, good point. There's so much Korean content on Netflix. My gosh, nothing wrong with it. Just saying. Nothing wrong with
Starting point is 01:22:04 it at all. Yeah. All right. Excellent. Here is my recommendal for the week. I'll give you some audio. It is a documentary and it may be obvious when I play what it is. I don't know if it will or not, but I'm going to play it. Here we go. You may have seen in the in the write-up of this that I wanted to be an astronaut. It's why I got an engineering degree. I watched Star Trek, Star Wars, and I wanted to see those alien life forms. And eventually I realized that
Starting point is 01:22:29 all the cool stuff that I thought was out there is actually underwater. And in fact... Stockton Rush was definitely a salesman. I got the impression that he wanted to do things differently to be different. Anybody, with the right amount of money, can build a sub and go down to Titanic.
Starting point is 01:22:47 all right it is called titan the ocean gate disaster yeah geez if i were them i wouldn't have called myself anything any right any uh any derivation of the word titanic yeah or gate why put gate you're just asking for shit right it's scandal yeah yeah why are you doing that never associated with anything good but the ocean gate company made this uh submersible called the titan and as everyone knows famously uh last year it imploded at about 4,000 feet below the ocean or maybe it was meters. I can't remember the exact number. But anyway, it was something like that.
Starting point is 01:23:26 And they were essentially, they were going down to look at wreckage of the Titanic. And they'd been down there a couple of times before. But this time it imploded, killed everybody on board, including Stockton Rush, the multi-millionaire owner and founder of Ocean Gate and this person who essentially pushed them to the point of this was going to happen. it was a matter of when, not if. And this is the documentary about that. It is not a sensationalism documentary.
Starting point is 01:23:53 So if you're coming into this looking for some hot edits and music pumps and all that. Dramatic recreations. You're not going to get any of that. You're going to get nothing but raw footage, conversation and interaction between people who were there, people who worked there, everybody from people who are pretty scorned by the experience and were fired or left because of fights with this Stockton dude or people who were just sort of left in the dust. after this accident and everything in between we have footage from the investigation about it they still haven't released a full report of what happened from the Coast Guard
Starting point is 01:24:27 or the OSHA people that are involved it is wild absolutely wild documentary and if you are at all freaked out about the idea of high pressure low ocean business hand raised Brian this thing there is a sound because one of the things
Starting point is 01:24:45 they do I'll give you this It's not a spoiler. One of the things that exists around this whole thing is that he was pushing the idea that a certain build of a carbon fiber body to a submersible was going to be the future of submersibles. And it was the best material to go with. And he had all these reasons for it. And they have all this crazy testing to show that it was going to be the best. And all these top engineers working on the project and all this. Most of it's either left or got fired because he's a megalomaniac freak and ego psycho.
Starting point is 01:25:16 And we just never. take answers from anyone if they didn't line up with what he was just going to do. He was going to do what he was going to do. Guy comes from money, you know, very wealthy family, went to school, didn't really learn much, but had a degree. So it made it seem like he had some expertise. Really what he had was an ego that needed to be stroked. He wanted to be the next Jeff Bezos. He wanted to be the next Elon Musk. He wanted to be the rich guy with the amazing thing. And the thing in this case was going to be oceanic travel and the ability to take these relatively less expensive smaller submersibles down to just untold depths and then come back up.
Starting point is 01:25:52 That was the whole thing. And there was a lot of science around and all of that. But the problem is, despite their best efforts, despite Boeing being involved for a while and all that, the carbon fiber just never lived up to what he thought it was going to live up to. And how they knew that is they had this early warning system built into these things, that the lower they would go, you would hear pops. They had sound like a sound alert system all through the thing. So structurally, when there would be any kind of change.
Starting point is 01:26:16 in structure it would be a an actual auditory thing that would pick up on these mics it would show us a spike on their charts all in real time so you could tell well we've gone to this depth and we're getting more spikes here what's that about all right let's go back and test yeah he thought it just meant it's like settling you know you know how it is with like I'm trying to think like a like if you get a brand new like your boat or a house even it's kind of going to have some creaks it makes noises creaks right yeah he was wrong about that. It's not what it means. What it means is the carbon fiber was breaking down and the more he did it, the more it would break down. So they would have the same submersible go down once,
Starting point is 01:26:55 hardly any pops. Take it down a second time, definitely some spikes. Third time, lots of spikes. Fourth time, terrible. And he just thought, well, now this is all settling in. And he would just would hear nothing of it from anyone else. He would have no third party inspections. Guy just would like get into his own head. He was so cocksure. Sorry about the C-word. that he was so right about this that it just didn't matter what anyone else said expert or not. And that got those people killed, himself included. It's wild the stuff they have because they have some secret meeting recordings that some employees made to sort of have this later because he would, you know, in public he seemed like
Starting point is 01:27:33 just kind of a nerd and a guy with like great ideas and, you know, these guys want to sound. That's what he sounded like. But in private, he was a huge dick. He would say things like, if that engineer leaves, it only costs. me about 50 grand to ruin someone's life and I'm ready to do you know like this kind of stuff just a total douchebag yeah um and a disregard for safety for other lives all all for the just really just stoking his ego and uh there's like a YouTuber almost got killed or would have been on this trip had it the timing been different there's like all these people to get talked to they're just
Starting point is 01:28:07 all a little freaked out that they weren't in there uh at the time the people who did die were you know they thought they were on a perfectly safe expedition sure Anyway, absolutely wild. The part that really got me, though, that anxiety about depth and popping and all that is the sound that the Australian sensors picked up underwater of this imploding 600 miles away, like way far away, and they play that.
Starting point is 01:28:34 It's horrifying. I'm sure it is. Oh, my gosh. They don't show anything because there's nothing to show. This happened for way out there. It's just horrible, Brian. because they were all turned into they were all turned into paste it's immediate that at those depths you're just you're done you're done so space you know you just get yeah you're just you're just done
Starting point is 01:28:55 you're out so it is uh there's all kinds of lessons in it to learn I thought it was really well made um and was just one of those got documentaries is just like here are the facts here are the people here are the results I like those they aren't as exciting as like like, bint, bint, bha, you know, that's not what this is. Good, thank good. And I don't think I mentioned this is on Netflix. It's a Netflix original documentary. He came out on June 11th.
Starting point is 01:29:22 I just missed it. Saw it the other day and went, oh, I'm actually interested in that. And did not disappoint. It's very, very good. I would highly recommend it if you like documentaries. All right. I guess it's going to do it for today. Yeah.

Starting point is 01:29:56 Brian, let's play a song. Sure, and I don't know if this, I don't think this is the same Josh, but if it is, that'd be hilarious. Josh wrote in, I don't know if it's Josh 3.0. This might just be the 1.0 version of Josh. Said July 20th, I took another rotation around the world as I turn another year older. Bon Jovi's It's My Life is one of my favorite songs So I leave it up to the covermaster To find a good cover of a great song

Starting point is 01:30:48 but to get a link right to it. Titan, the Ocean Gate submersible disaster. Yeah, and if you just search Titan, you'll get it. In fact, the documentary only ever says Titan, but I think this title's for, you know, SEO or whatever. Sure. People can find it. They don't want people to accidentally watch Titan A.E.
Starting point is 01:31:06 No. Although it's good. I like Titan A.E. Yeah, actually, nothing wrong with Titan A. Very different movie. Anyway, how about a version of It's My Life that sounds rockabilly like the stray cats almost, which is so cool. This is a band or a couple artists who go by the name Zill and Mike from the 2007 collection Rock and Pop meets Rock and Roll. Here's Bon Jovi's It's My Life.
Starting point is 01:31:41 This ain't a song for the broken hearty No silence in the rain for the faith departed I ain't gonna be just a piece in the cry Just hear my voice when I shout it out live It's night and it's now or never I ain't gonna live forever I just want to live while I'm alive It's my life
