Starting point is 00:00:00 The scariest thing you can do this Halloween is fart in the face of big media and support the morning stream on Patreon at patreon.com slash TMS. All the kids are doing it coming up on the morning stream. Hashtag might barf. It's not hot like August. Big wet, chunky bullet. Little weenie energy. Claire's dating profile video. Internet uncle recommendations with Nicole.
Starting point is 00:00:22 Just a little weird. Weekend Uber summary. Not mating mates. If it wasn't weird, it wouldn't be TMS. Big truck. Little wank. Gattaca. Gattaca.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Farty towels. What's Corbynson doing these days? You know he's got Malkovich vibes. The great Jim Candy and more on this episode of The Morning Stream. They bring them. Poldos. They bring them up there and they sit up there and they smoke crack. Hello.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Yeah, this is Bunkie. The morning stream. I am your father's, brother's, nephews, cousins, former roommate. Good morning, everyone, and all. Welcome to the morning stream. Today is Monday, August. Sorry, August. October 27. It's not hot like August. I can tell you that. But the year is still 2025. It's the week of Halloween. Hello, Brian, I'm Scott Johnson. How are you? Well, hello, Scott Johnson. Johnson, I'm Brian a bit. Nice to meet you as well. This has been a long time coming. Glad we can finally get our schedules to line up, you know, and do this one, this one-off that we're doing right now together. Let's hope it sticks. Seems like it could be a really fun thing. We'll have to see if we could do this for, I don't know, 11, 12 years. Yeah. I mean, you know, looking into the future,
Starting point is 00:01:48 who knows what it holds, but sure, let's give it a shot. Yeah. Hey, you're, we're here. We've got stuff to do. It's a big week. You put something that notes have been burning a hole in. me all morning. I must know what's going on. So explain. Yeah. So it was a fun weekend for Brian driving for Uber. There was a couple things going on. It's at the end of the month. It's the end of the three month period that they do tracking. So if you get a certain number of points during that time, then you get gold status or platinum status or whatever, silver or diamond status and I like to try and get platinum status because it gives you a little benefit of when you open the app and say all right ready to start driving you can actually say
Starting point is 00:02:38 you click on some boundaries that they've created on the city and say keep me within these boundaries that way you don't end up in Colorado Springs an hour away or in Aurora or buzzing around downtown it lets you say all right just keep me in you know um my town and like the four or five towns around me which is great yeah but you only you only get that if you're platinum and i was um 99 points away from platinum and you get points uh three points for a ride during what's called prime time three p m to seven p m so i was just you know taking advantage of that and then i also had all right on the weekend there's more bigger longer hours i'll jump into some of that time. So this last weekend, cranking on the, the, the, uh, the, uh, driving time just so I
Starting point is 00:03:28 could get, um, get platinum status. Right. And, um, Friday, uh, after TMS, uh, Friday and, and a couple of freelance things. I hop in the car to go drive. And, um, you know, seems like a good day. Got, uh, got a few rides. And then I end up, um, over by the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, sports arenas like over by my high stadium and ball arena and i'm not like there's a huge game going on this weekend or anything well that was on sunday and we'll get to that too there's there's there's video related to that that we'll talk about that's a second second incident but this first incident you know i go and i pick up a couple they're sitting there in front of a 7-11 um guy and a gal she's drinking water you know you got a water bottle and she's chugging it pretty heavily and like all right
Starting point is 00:04:17 cool so they get in i realize i'm taking about 25 minutes away to the other side of town and so i'm like all right well how you guys doing he's like well i'm fine you're like okay and the the woman's not talking and she's kind of whispering to him like and oh shit and and and he's like oh yeah maybe you should have said on this side in case you have to in case you have to hop out of the car really quick like what's what's going on is everybody okay and he's like he's like yeah she's just just not feeling well and you know she uh she might have to throw up at some point that's what you want to hear in your car that's the last thing exactly it's like oh you should have put that in the in the as i'm coming to pick you up text messages by the way she might throw up
Starting point is 00:05:04 cancel ride man so she's drinking out of the water bottle and for the next 22 minutes scott But I am taking corners very gently. I'm avoiding potholes. I am slowing down a lot earlier for stoplights and stop signs. I'm off the line when the light turns green, easing into the intersection. I mean, I'm like, this is like, you remember the episode of the Brady Bunch where Greg and Marcia are battling for who's the better driver? and they have like a raw egg on the dashboard that... I do remember that, basically, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:45 That if it falls over, whoever makes it fall over, loses or something. Right. That was basically, that whole ride was me, like, trying to keep that, that egg. And any noise, any sound out of the back, and I'm like, oh, don't you do it, don't you do it? And I'm thinking, what do I do? Like, do I take it to a car wash, open the doors, and just do the water blast? you know, right through it and wash off the back seat. And, you know, this is the first of three days I'm planning on driving to get those last 99 points to get platinum status.
Starting point is 00:06:19 And if I have to clean vomit and the car stinks, I can't keep driving over the weekend. So fortunately, are they, sorry, cloth seats or what do you got back there? Cloth seats. Oh, shit. That's the worst. Yeah. It is the worst. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:06:35 Yeah. So I get them to their destination. the biggest feeling of relief I've had in months that I can think of. It's like, oh, my God, okay. It's like I had somebody on the phone with me saying, all right, cut the blue wire. No, no, the green wire, the green wire. Yeah, you dodged a big, wet, chunky bullet is what you did. I did.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Thank goodness for that. And it just makes me think, you know, yeah, exactly what I was going to say, easy reader. Time to get some seat covers. Maybe it is time for me to get like, because I'm in cars all the time that have plastic seat covers. I don't do a lot of night driving. And this is, you know, since I started driving in 2018, this is the first time I've run into a situation where I think somebody in the backseat might throw up.
Starting point is 00:07:25 But all it takes is one. Yeah, I was going to say one time and that will be the worst night of your life. If it's $20 seat covers to put back there, just like a plastic like, you know, form fitting covers the back seat, why not? Yeah. What's the... What are those long windsock-looking barf bags you can get now with like a ring on the top? I've actually got one of those and that was one of the first thing I said in that map, you know, in that
Starting point is 00:07:48 pocket behind the passenger seat, there is a barf bag and it's one of those that fits right around your mouth and you can pull, you know, open the bag. Tini got a bunch of those when she was doing chemo and she never needed them. So we keep them in our cars for exactly this. Yeah. Perfect. Exactly. I'm glad she didn't need it, though. The lady, I mean, I'm just...
Starting point is 00:08:09 Thank God, I know, yeah. That would have sucked. Oh, my gosh. You would be telling a very different story this morning. It would be... Scott, it finally happened. Would have been the headline. So, driving yesterday after film sack,
Starting point is 00:08:23 also meant that I was going to be taking people to the Bronco game. Great game, by the way. Hell of a lot. Oh, my gosh, Denver. You guys creamed those bastards. Anyway, it was like way more than, you know, I mean, the cowboys were the favorites were the favorite. It's crazy. I did not see
Starting point is 00:08:38 that wind coming the way it came. I need to text Randy and rub it in his face. So, Brian, you're going to be watching the game tomorrow? Do you got later today? Money on the opposing team? That's what it was. Do you have any money? Yeah. Exactly. So, I'm taking some guys to the game, and
Starting point is 00:08:55 we pull up to a stoplight, and I noticed that there's a truck, and then a car right in front of the truck that are stopped. Hazard lights on the car. big dent in the back of the car from where the truck's bumper hit it. And there's a guy standing next to it on the phone. Now, here, we have a visual presentation, Scott.
Starting point is 00:09:15 So if you go into our covers folder, you'll find a video called Road Rage. All right. I didn't know this aspect was in here. This is exciting. Yes. All right. We're in covers. We've got an MP4 called Road Rage.
Starting point is 00:09:30 Yep. Let me see where I can put it to play. It was probably best in the browser window. Let's see. Oh, it didn't play. And audio listeners, I'll put a copy in Discord for you guys to watch there. All right. I think this should be piping VLC through, so I'll use VL.
Starting point is 00:09:49 And there's no audio. So it's only showing in my frame. Yeah, hang on. Okay, all right. Things being effed. Gotcha. Okay, here we are. There we go.
Starting point is 00:09:59 All right. So this is your, this is your video. dash cam so pause really quick before so yeah all right so we've got the um the two vehicles there on the left the truck and then the car in front of it with the new mexico license plates and they were just involved in a fender bender um they happen sure it happens exactly they're on the on the way to the game and and whatnot with the stuff who cares you know whatever it happens right um i don't know exactly what happened but the truck driver the guy with the pickup truck exhibits a little bit of road rage here and I wonder if you can even zoom into
Starting point is 00:10:39 their portion maybe not maybe it's so I don't think the player will do it that's alright there's an image I could but I don't think I can get in there yeah no worries all right let's go ahead play and actually is it just this truck area I might yeah just that just that truck area I mean you could you could oh I don't know if it's taking up the whole screen yeah I was gonna say there we go all right we'll put it right if you move it up perfect all right that will give you good yep perfect all right here we go a minute oh I'll have to I hit the play button there we go oh you can hit the space bar okay yeah all right so guy gets in his car he's on the phone probably calling the police truck pulls forward oh push that car into the intersection what and then he's gonna like right there he's almost gonna cut right in front of me that last little bit damn he almost is like going to going to pull a runner like push that car into the intersection turn right and go down the wrong way on a one way street holy shit dude truck what is it with
Starting point is 00:11:38 truck drivers just aggressive as hell and i bet i'll bet um the the the truck driver was uh was was was drinking or something and just didn't want to didn't want to deal with it you know didn't want to uh damn yeah little bitty wieners i think they can't the i think so they got to overcompensate holy shit exactly so um so you had to be your witness so you yeah have to do stuff, right? I was a witness. I submitted the video. I filed an online police report.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Fortunately, you know, because I wasn't involved in the accident and just a witness, I could just file it online and say, and then had a perfect time stamp on there because of the ring camera. So it was basically like, all right, 12.26 p.m. on this intersection, I witnessed, you know, a fender bender, and then some road rage after it. Here's an attachment to the video in my drop box. you can probably pull the license plate
Starting point is 00:12:35 from that guy if you need it what if you get served you get subpoenaed they make it come who knows that was I mean that was the thing with that other one that I recorded with the camera last year or a couple years ago yeah Bio Calhiels NARC
Starting point is 00:12:51 NARC yeah exactly yeah F these Chuck drivers man I mean not all of you I know there are plenty of truck owners are really conscientious people. My brother-in-law is a big, giant truck for work. And nicest guy he'll ever meet. He would never do that.
Starting point is 00:13:06 He doesn't tailgate or drive people, or drive up the butt of the people in front of him and all that sort of thing. No, that is some bullshit. I'm glad you caught it, though. Yes, me too. Brian getting that citizen points and your platinum status, right? You got both. Or did you get the platinum.
Starting point is 00:13:22 I did get my platinum status, yes. Oh, good. Yeah, I know. I know. It was a little nip and tuck there for that. Yeah, it was 33, I basically did 33 rides over the weekend from Friday to yesterday. So an average of about 11 per day, which doesn't sound like a lot. But, you know, most of them are 15, 20 minute rides.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Yeah. So it's, you know, it was a few hours every day. But now it's like, I'm taking a couple days off and catching up with all this stuff here. We got, oh, my gosh, we have to all the rock puzzles monthly stuff is going out to folks. nice um i'm gonna do a little bit of a little bit of a push with all the people who signed up for on the the free level on uh uh rock puzzles monthly so that uh they can you know sign up and get this week's or this month's puzzles and all that stuff so very nice progress no one puked and nobody puked and uh just you know a little car got pushed into an intersection but you know
Starting point is 00:14:22 not the worst for where no i do have one quick thing to share before he pulled done away in um one of our own hit a special level of fame over the weekend. Yes, she did. We all know Claire. I can't play the audio here because it's music that'll get us silenced on YouTube so I can't play it. The music and it does really help to have the music. It does have the music. It helps have the music. It's don't stop believing. No, it's not. I mean, sorry. Behemian Rhapsody. Sorry. There's a second video of her doing the other song. I keep mixing them out. Yeah. I need to see that one. I haven't seen that one. It's more of her like close up holding your own camera. It's like I think on her own channel. Okay, like a little selfie
Starting point is 00:14:59 video she took. Yeah, but you may wonder who that little redhead there is at the time middle of your screen. It's a visual thing. We'll make sure, well, it did get, it's been posted multiple times in the Discord. So if you haven't seen it, you can get it in there. But this thing, I'll just hit play. The note says, can someone find
Starting point is 00:15:15 me this girl from Belfast because I want to be her mate? You notice the rest of that audience is doing jack shit and look at her. We're just getting started. Just getting going. And then the that comes on and now look at this. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Anyway, this video ended up doing 10 million now views. 10 million views. That's amazing. 20,000 comments or something. Huge amount of comments. 1.8 million likes. Yeah. Just, I'm just saying, remember the little people in your life, Claire.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Shared by Brian May on his TikTok page. Oh, yeah. Brian May put it, which is probably where most of the hits came from. I would bet, yeah, I would hope so. Which is great. So that's the most clear thing you'll see today. Absolutely is. As that video, congratulations to her.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Yeah. All right. Guys, it's time for us to. And we can tell that person, guess what? We are her mates. That's right. We're her mates. Not in a, you know, sexual way.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Not in a mating way, but in a mate way. A mate way. If she was not at work right now, she'd be in the chat with everyone. She totally would be. And that's all anyone would talk about for the next 20 minutes. So maybe it's good. She's not here. I got to find that.
Starting point is 00:16:27 So the Don't Stop Believing is on her own feet. Yeah, I think it's just Claire Gack with a single K on TikTok, I think is right. Yeah. Anyway, let's do this now. That music means it's time for a little game show. And it stars the one, the only. Brian Dunaway. Hey, dude.
Starting point is 00:16:50 Oh, hey, dude. Oh, hi, Scott and Brian. Hey. Oh, hi. What's going on, man? What's going on? Dude, this is the Monday before. for the Halloween, so we're a bunch of
Starting point is 00:16:58 Halloweeners, right? Let's go. It's true. Halloweene, do you prefer that or weiner? Weenie, weiner. What do you like? I'm going to take we're going to take weiner right now. If you're happy, because you go to a Halloween roast, but you are a Halloween
Starting point is 00:17:14 if you're doing it. There you go. Is it that the Halloweene is the person getting the candy and the Halloweener is the person giving the candy? Is that how that works? I like that. I never thought of that way. It's your situation. I got you.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Or Lender, Lindy. I mean, you know, tomato, tomato, whatever, however you want to. Sure. No one will ever take that other one wrong. Recy PCs, Recy PC, whatever. Same thing. Reis's P. Sir. Reese's PC.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Sorry. Recy Pisser. Recy Pee C. There you go. Recy Pissor. That's better. Guys, we're going to play a game. Dunnoway comes on on Mondays.
Starting point is 00:17:51 We do it. We call it half asses. Brian, it has all the rules and what we have to do. so Brian explain. Yeah, they've changed dramatically too. So make sure you're paying attention. Welcome to the morning. How fast is a trivia game where I'm actually going to be giving the two of you the answers.
Starting point is 00:18:04 I'm going to give Scott and Brian a category and six possible answers, three of which are correct. And three like pushing that car in front of you into the intersection with the front of your truck is incorrect. Depending on how confident you feel with the category, you can provide one, two or three guesses. But if you get any of those guesses wrong, you get zero points for the round. Get one right gets you a point. Two right gets you three points. And three right gets you five points. We're going to add all those points up at the end of the round and declare one of you the winner, but you won't win anything.
Starting point is 00:18:30 You know who will? People that I've pulled from our Patreon that you guys are going to be playing for. Scott, you're playing for Jesse Call. Yeah, we love Jesse. The jerky Jesse guy. Jerky Jesse. Yep, and Brian, you're playing for Worley Bird. Worley Bird.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Whirley Bird, who I hope is some sort of helicopter pilot or something. Yeah, that would be awesome. His code name is Worley Bird. Love that. Really weird. Yeah. Very cool. All right.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Let's get to the game here. here. Your first category is it loads. I'm sorry. I don't usually have the video pulled up. The first time I saw Scott, he had one oral fixation in his mouth, and now he has another. Oh, it's like you got some oral fixations
Starting point is 00:19:10 this morning there, Scotty? I got that's fun going. It's like a little skewer. It's like a giant skewer. It almost looks like a giant toothpick. Yeah, were you having Yakutory this morning or something? I just grabbed this because we're on a regular toothpicks. And I have a toothpick thing. I always love a toothpick. And since this is all I have, I took it. But here's the problem. I forget
Starting point is 00:19:28 how large it is. So if it's in my mouth, I turn on my mic here. I've stabbed myself like through the cheek with these damn things. So this really shouldn't be here. I'm going to put it over there. Yeah. It's called a skewer for a reason. That's right. Right. Damn straight. All right. Let's do this. Okay. Question number one. What are the top 10 deadliest jobs in the US according to let me get my notes up my glasses on so I can read this toothpick holder that's right this is the Bureau Bureau of Labor Statistics as of 2016 the top 10 deadliest jobs in the US which of these six are which three of these six are top 10 most dangerous deadliest jobs your choices are farmer rancher roofer minor police truck driver and bartender
Starting point is 00:20:16 holy shit Sally Struthers should be telling you how you can get your degree in any of these these rules these all look dangerous every one of these looks dangerous but only three of them are in the top 10 most dangerous and don't forget this was 2016 apparently the most deadliest job is whatever they were doing because they haven't taken new census yet so no this game was printed in 2016 so that's oh okay yeah yeah we're not quite that up to date yeah i'm not i'm not going online and getting more recent uh more recent day what do we look like A real game show. I don't even think the real ones do it.
Starting point is 00:20:56 That's right. All right. Scott's locked in. Brian's locked in. And look at you guys. You guys both settled on a couple of them. Let's start with the first one. Farmer slash rancher.
Starting point is 00:21:09 Just seems dangerous. I don't know. 22 deaths. 22 deaths per 100,000 people. So Farmer rancher, it's bad. Okay, okay. That puts it. That does.
Starting point is 00:21:21 put it up on the top uh the top 10 so farmer rancher is correct nice well then you guys both chose roofer which which i would have thought would have been an obvious choice right like oh yeah you fall off the roof you die but maybe you just fall off the roof and you land in a bush you know maybe a point yeah um uh no with 40 deaths per 100 000 roofer is a uh one of the top 10 most deadliest jobs yeah that and plus i mean you don't have to fall off right i mean you could just die up there just so but your ladder your ladder falls and you have no way of getting down no i'm just it's just hot i mean some of these people they they just hot up there can you imagine being like a roofer in like phoenix arizona be the worst thing oh god yeah i would hope that
Starting point is 00:22:07 they would do all the roofing like between the hours of midnight and four a m yeah maybe the months of november this day in december only that's what i was exactly yeah damn uh so two you got two of uh Now, Scott went for a third. Oh, Scott, he's on it. Scott chose bartender. Yeah. Kind of thinking that, you know, maybe we're pulling a fast one. Like, bartender is more dangerous because you've got, yeah, oh, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Those little shakers, they hurt and they can dent your head. Is bartender one of the top ten most dangerous jobs? There we go. Oh, shit. I almost chose truck driver. I almost did it. driver 24 deaths per 100,000 for truck drivers. So even more than Farmer Rancher.
Starting point is 00:22:57 Do you know what the bartender death rate is? No, bartender I don't have. Mining is 11 deaths per 100,000 and police 13.5 deaths per 100,000. Yeah, I figured miner seems like the obvious one historically, but I think if you look at it with modernized, they are so damn careful now. Like nobody wants one of the stories where 50 men were trapped last week and can't get out. In the 90s and earlier, minor probably would have been in the top 10. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Before they put a lot of safeguards and stuff. A lot of that stuff has changed. You think a lot of people die on the way to Tashi Station? Getting power converters? Hell yeah. Hell yeah. Boister evaporators. Sure.
Starting point is 00:23:32 Super evaporator ranchers. All right. So, Brian, going into question number two with three points. Scott with zero. Let's see how you do with science. Science. Science. Which of these are your DNA bases?
Starting point is 00:23:47 your choices are lyzine, thymine, leucine, guanine, cytosine, and alenine. Is it guanine? Maybe it's guanine. I don't know. I don't know the pronunciation always in here, so. Prognation. Well, I have to kind of play hard here. Yep.
Starting point is 00:24:11 I'm gonna just, I don't know. I'm just gonna go. I did some stuff. I'm not telling you what. what. I just did it. Dang it. I know. I can't tell you. All right. Scott's locked in. Brian's locked in.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Yeah. Remember something. A.T. something. I can't remember. Yeah. Good job. BioCow. We're going to talk about that. All right. Scott, you locked in on thymine. Thymine. Thymine. I'm sorry, both of you locked in on thymine. Oh, thymine. All right. And you both were correct. Thymine. Thymine is. I'm going to say thymineine is one of the DNA bases. I'll bet you're right about it being thymine if I had to guess. I think that's
Starting point is 00:24:49 right. Yeah, thymine. It sounds like it. Sounds sciencey. Like, ean is your, like, iron. If it was a vitamin, it would be iron, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You'd have to ask your doctor if it's right for you and all that. Exactly. Scott, you also chose lysine, L-Y-S-I-N-E-L-Y-S-N-E-L-Sin. That is incorrect. Isn't that for, isn't that like for cold sores or something? no that's L the L, it's got an L in it. My wife takes him. Okay, and it's not Lising. Now that you
Starting point is 00:25:22 say that, it's like, oh, is that what that stuff is? I can't worry. Then Brian, you didn't choose that. You chose Alineine and I'll just say you got it wrong as well. If you remember the movie Gattaca, which we watched for Film Sack.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Yeah, like last week. No, like a decade ago. But you remember it dealt with DNA and cloning and all sort of thing yeah sure we didn't have baby dinosaur up there so gattgummit that's what it was gatticegat oh guanine right thymine and cytosine shit dang it all right that's a hard one though it is a hard one yeah my chances are getting that we're low for the record i forgot about it too and i also chose lyzine when i was doing this myself so that's all right that's all right okay let's get to the last one here um music oh we love our music don't we we do we love j z
Starting point is 00:26:14 We love Jay-Z. We call him Jay-Z. Yeah. Personal. I call him Jay-Z. Which of these hit songs feature a guest verse from Jay-Z? Your choices are, Come Get at Bay by Frale Williams,
Starting point is 00:26:28 Umbrella by Rihanna, Baby Boy by Beyonce. We Belonged Together by Mariah Carey, Monster by Kanye West, and suit and tie by Justin Timberlund. My gosh, dude. I thought he wasn't all of these. Well, he's in at least three,
Starting point is 00:26:43 which is also surprising. to me but he is in three somebody listening to music no no that's an that's a fire truck oh really okay well they're pulling up and now they're waving at me oh hey I'm almost done guys I'll be out in a minute
Starting point is 00:26:59 it's your ponytail on fire or something like that you good it's like a fuse um all right I don't know but I got to go all the way or I won't even compete here so you do yeah lock in my bad um I'll go how does anyone know any of this
Starting point is 00:27:18 i know they listen to music all right there i don't know okay all right let's see how you guys did scott chose three because he had two to get uh to go for the win yeah brian played it safe with two and the two you chose are the same two scott chose umbrella by riana which is correct okay brella
Starting point is 00:27:38 and suit and tied by justin timberlake which is also correct the third one Scott chose was baby boy by Beyonce and of course Jay Z and Beyonce are a couple makes sense it's probably a trick totally makes sense and you're absolutely right Scott
Starting point is 00:27:57 it was a trick monster shit monster by Kanye West no no Jay Z and baby boy by Beyonce Brian taking home six points on this one the biggest point spread ever, you just did there, zero to six. I don't think we've ever
Starting point is 00:28:15 had it that bad. I think you've whipped me worse than that before, but yeah, it was a pretty good one. It was, uh, yeah. You nailed it. It's a long time. Like, I've had to have zero, zero tiebreaker questions ready last, last few weeks, so. Yeah. It's kind of insulting, but okay. This is,
Starting point is 00:28:30 this is like the Cowboys, uh, Broncos game a little bit. That's what this was. A little bit. By the way, can I tell you one that you're not going to get as part of, um, a real half asses? Do it. Um, um, TV shows canceled after a single season. Which of these were canceled after a single season? Firefly.
Starting point is 00:28:47 Yep. F-trupe, Faulty towers, Gidgett, My So-Called Life, Twin Peaks. Oh. Twin Peaks? Did it have a second season? Maybe I should have saved this one for you. Give me the list one more time. Deadly Firefly.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Firefly, F-Trupe, Faulty Towers, Gidgett, My So-Cold Life and Twin Peaks. My So-called Life sounds right to me. uh twin peaks okay and i know that faulty tower said firefly yeah firefly obviously faulty towers had two seasons they're basically two six episodes series but whatever they were almost a decade apart which is weird um yeah oh really i didn't realize they were that far apart that's crazy yeah it's weird you can kind of tell but it's they're still all good um i feel like the gitchett was this one because she went right on to flying none right yeah we'll say that is correct yeah gidgett would have been your other one okay Twin Peaks had two seasons
Starting point is 00:29:42 until the re The comeback a few years ago Where they had one more season So Twin Peacres I guess I should have saved that one I thought for some reason I don't know why I thought that was going to be too easy
Starting point is 00:29:54 But maybe it was just the fact that it opened with Firefly I'm like well Not using this Yeah Usually you don't like one that has a obvious defa You know Yeah but I but I With so many
Starting point is 00:30:06 Where it's like a difficult No regrets here yeah i should probably put an easy one in there for you guys once in a while yeah um congratulations uh brian uh which means whirly bird is getting some games he's getting deponia doomsday and dead end job very nice come home from your job and play dead end job on steam sounds like a great plan um but jesse call jerky jesse you're getting sticky business which seems appropriate actually that is a very very cool game super cool casual game where you run your own sticker business it's awesome Yeah, I do remember that.
Starting point is 00:30:41 Yeah. That's cool. I played the hell out of that for some reason. I don't remember why I was so into it, but I was. I love the chore course. I'm into them. Real quick here, I was wrong. It was five, almost five years apart, not a decade.
Starting point is 00:30:52 That's still more than I would have thought. If you would have told me that they were two years apart, I would have been like, yeah, that makes sense because they had the divorce and everything, right? Yeah. I think she, but, yeah, and then she came back and was, Connie Nelson. Connie, oh, shit. Connie Nelson. Not Nielsen.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Connie Nilsson. Connie Nilson is a gladiator mom. Right, right. Right, right, yeah. Themascar. Not Connie Francis. It's not Connie. Not Connie Britton.
Starting point is 00:31:16 Not Connie Britton. Although Britain would be funny. Although she wasn't even British. She was from Minnesota and she just did a really good accent. And she would have been four or something. Booth. Booth. Booth.
Starting point is 00:31:27 Thank you, Wraith. Real quick. So October 24th, 75, there were six episodes aired and then 25th of March, 79, the next six. But it is kind of, if you're going like binging, you'll notice it. It's like, oh, someone's a little. chunkier. Someone else has different clothes than they did. Or the camera's a little brighter. It's weird.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Yeah, that is noticeable. Like the camera, it definitely looks like video, big video difference. And there should have been a third season, man. Just one more, guys. One more. That's all I asked. That's all I ever wanted was one more. Just squeeze it out.
Starting point is 00:31:59 But maybe it's good that we just have this amazing two season thing that will always be one of the greatest things ever made. And that's fine. All right. It's fine. Well, Brian Dunaway, you did great. Congratulations, everybody all around. You'll get those prizes from me directly in your DMs on your Patreon accounts. So watch for those winners, Jesse Call and Worley Bird.
Starting point is 00:32:23 You'll be getting those today a little bit after the show. Brian Dunaway on Wednesday this week, not Tuesday, but Wednesday. We had to shift some things around due to some travel and stuff. We'll be doing play retro, and that'll be fun. Yeah. How do you like Kiss? Do you like Kiss? Are you into him? Do you like the band?
Starting point is 00:32:38 Well, I like I'm a lot better this week than I did last week because I did a deep dive on Kiss Psycho Circus, the Scott McFarland comic. Oh, yeah. That was pretty neat. Yeah. And then the game is, we'll see. We'll talk about it. Yeah, we'll talk about it then. It's going to be a good time.
Starting point is 00:32:56 That I know. That I know for sure. It'll be spooky. So tune in for that. Playretro is at FrogPants.com slash Play Retro. Brian Dunaway, I would like to wish you nothing but the best. And one other thing, kiss our butts. All right. Oh, nice job.
Starting point is 00:33:10 He's out of there. Guys, it's time for us to do some recommendations. And here's how that's going to work. Well, what do you recommend? It works like this. We bring Nicole into the room. Hi, Nicole. How are you?
Starting point is 00:33:25 Hi. Hi. I can't hear me okay. Yeah, you should sound great. Yeah, sound great. Oh, I was so worried. And I'm so glad you're late. We're always a few late.
Starting point is 00:33:35 I got my reminder notifications. I'm going through Costco. And I'm like, oh, crap. That'll happen. Did you get some Kirkland products? I did. Mateo really likes their cupcakes, and it's his official birthday tomorrow. Oh, happy birthday to Mateo.
Starting point is 00:33:53 He should come play with us on Friday. Does he have unofficial birthdays, too? Well, like, we had his party with his friends. He wanted to do sandbox VR. And so we did that on Saturday. Oh, very nice. look if he's down for it and there's time and I know it's busy time on Halloween for people but we're doing play date this Friday he's absolutely invited again as always
Starting point is 00:34:17 he will he'll be there yeah I'll leave you there and I think we'll have that new Halloween game I got to check today if it's oh really oh cool pretty sure it's out I'm not sure I'll double check it's a jackbox Halloween game yeah it's the third in the series that we like the oh the murder trivia trivia murder party yeah yeah cool Cool, cool, cool, cool. Very excited. A whole new pack as well, so there's, who knows what else is in there. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Wow. Anyway, that'll be this week. Yeah, tell him that and also tell him happy birthday from his internet uncle Scott and Brian. Let's get to recommendals. This is a segment of the show we look forward to greatly when Nicole comes on the show and we talk about things we've seen on streaming services, be they movies, TV, what have you. We often start with Brian. And you know what?
Starting point is 00:35:02 Same today. We're starting with Brian. Okay, good. All right. This is, we'll just get into the clip. This is a series, Apple TV Plus series, big fan of actors involved, and so I was really excited to check this out.
Starting point is 00:35:18 You're going to hear a guy trying to sell a watch. Here we go. Yeah, so my, my wife just thinks it's too showy. Too showy. Is that why you don't wear a wedding thing? You're going to buy the watch, or you're going to analyze me? I can do both at the same time.
Starting point is 00:35:36 I'll give you 65 for it. Lipschitz was gonna give me 185. Then he sent you to me. You could sell it legit, you wouldn't be here. 95. We don't get men like you in here very often. You're what a trader, stockbroker? Whatever.
Starting point is 00:35:56 The point is you're a man who buys and sells things he never touches. Your skill isn't selling that value to other rich schmucks. Now here you are selling me something you can hold in your hand. This is new to you. You don't understand this market, but you still think you can negotiate it. That's not savvy, that's stupidity. Maybe it's just desperation.
Starting point is 00:36:22 That's the first honest thing you've said. Now we can do business. I'll give you 60. You just said 65? Deal. You got me back to my original price. original price. Some negotiator. Do you notice that Don Draper has the same voice as John Sina? Yes. I thought it was peacemaker for a minute. Yeah. That's funny. He has the same voice. If you don't
Starting point is 00:36:48 look at him, you kind of hear the same everything. Sounds like that. That's really funny. Now that you say it, totally, I totally hear it. That is a show on Apple TV called Your Friends and Neighbors. And the first season of this just wrapped up a few weeks ago. A couple, actually a few months ago. Okay, a few months ago. But it has been renewed for a second season. Basically, it follows John Hamm's character. He's a guy named Coop.
Starting point is 00:37:15 And he's a New York hedge fund manager who gets divorced from his wife, Amanda Pete. Oh, I love her. She's great. And also falls on hard times. his job and decides when he's at a party and he's kind of wandering around one of these these people's homes that he kind of pretends to be friends with but he you know kind of secretly despises he sees a watch and says you know they're not going to miss it let's sell it and uh then decides to go on a beaving and selling spree through the neighborhood with all of his all of his friends
Starting point is 00:37:54 it's great it is a good dark comedy and it follows that that kind of um breaking bad methodology of, I'm going to do this one bad thing. Ooh, shoot, somebody might catch me. I need to do something to cover it up. I'm going to do this, which turns out to be an even worse bad thing. Oh, and then this other bad thing. Perpetual bad. And each bad thing is kind of worse than the previous bad thing.
Starting point is 00:38:20 It's great. It wraps up nicely, by the way. So if you just watch the first season, you're not going to feel like you're waiting for, a cliffhanger there we go I hate waiting so long for that church killing me James Marsden's been announced
Starting point is 00:38:39 for season two so I can't wait to see how he gets integrated into this but in addition to Amanda Pete who plays his ex-wife you've also got Olivia Munn as a friend of Coops but also
Starting point is 00:38:53 a little friend with benefits kind of situation whom Lee Corbyn-Burnson as Coop's boss at the hedge fund Oh my gosh. How's he looking these days? He's looking like a
Starting point is 00:39:08 Like a boss you'd find In an 80s or 90s movie kind of thing. I mean, he looked old in the 80s When he was on What was the show? L.A. Law? Yeah. L.A. law. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:22 So maybe it's just is like a Steve Martin thing we're, you know what I'm saying? He kind of plateaued and he's kind of hung on to that same look, that same age. Yeah. Yeah, it's really good. It's, it's funny at times. It's really funny at times.
Starting point is 00:39:40 It's not stressful, but suspenseful at times. It's really, really good. This is, you know, again, Apple TV plus kind of, I guess they don't want to say the plus anymore. It's just Apple TV now. Yeah, they showed it on that. in the first place but whatever they should have exactly we dropped our plus too yeah well that's right you guys did you dropped the wood whisperer plus thing yeah yeah yeah i heard about that it's just called guildstream now so i like it very nice uh um by the way here's burns in these days just for
Starting point is 00:40:14 reference i think he looks cool man he does look cool he's got kind of the uh malcovich a little bit of a Melkovich thing going on there. Yeah, definitely. Is this an ascot? Is that what we call that? I think that's an ascot. Yeah. Unless he never learned how to properly tie tie. Yeah, it looks a little like a tie. Like, did his wife play a joke on him that morning or something? Anyway, that's cool. I've been wanting to check this out.
Starting point is 00:40:40 Ham's been banging out the TV rolls. He really has. You know, he's from St. Louis, right? I didn't know that, no. Oh, yes. You know how I know that? Because. I told you. No, because he did.
Starting point is 00:40:51 I did one of the introductions at the Super Bowl. Yeah. Oh, right. And it was because he was from St. Louis. He repped Kansas City. Right? Did he rep Kansas City? Well, who's the other team?
Starting point is 00:41:06 The other team was from the Missouri side of... I mean, it's Missouri, but he's from St. Louis. Well, Kansas City, Missouri is in Missouri, right? Yes. Well, it's like four hours from us. It straddles the border. So some of Kansas cities in Kansas. But isn't it, isn't it a lock that Kansas, or sorry, Missouri, that's, they get the team, though, right?
Starting point is 00:41:26 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway, yeah, I remember that. Who did the other one? Who was the Eagles or whoever? The Philly representative. I can't remember who the Philly guy was. Dang it. All right.
Starting point is 00:41:36 I'll look at it. No, that's cool. I'd love him in Landman. I don't know if he's even going to be in season two, but he was incredible in season one. He was great in that last season of Fargo. He's good in the morning show, like, really plays kind of an asshole in the morning show. this this is kind of your don draper character too kind of like a um kind of doesn't really care much about anybody else with the exception of his ex-wife and their two kids um which i guess
Starting point is 00:42:06 is a little bit more than he did for for for betty draper but uh but it is that kind of don Draper character for John Hamm, where it's like a man who's so embroiled in himself, he almost doesn't have room for other people in his life. Gotcha. I'm definitely, this is one I've this is good. Yeah, good black comedy. Yeah. Nice. Excellent. Let's swing it over to Nicole. You actually have two of these. They're similar, but not, right? Like, so I just want to preface it. I wanted to give a family friendly recommendation and then a not so friendly recommendation. Sweet. I'm all about it. So, which one did you queue up the first?
Starting point is 00:42:50 Family-friendly or not? Either one. I have family-friendly in order, but it doesn't matter. I can play it any way you want. Okay. So let's do the non-family-friendly one because it comes with a little story. Because we saw them at GalaxyCon. And I did not know about this show for a while. but I've been listening to music based on the show a lot and I love I love the music and then Mattia was like yeah I watched that
Starting point is 00:43:26 I was like wait what isn't that like it's a pretty mature show and I was like you know what I should probably watch it and he goes mom I'm just gonna warn you episode four is pretty intense and I'm just like dude you're warning me about TV shows kid I know I just like what are you talking about well this is a huge thing this thing came originally from YouTube it was a short or not a short but like a pilot that was created by this madrano lady and it it was 2019 as a while ago and it just became so viral and huge that I think there's a I think there's a whole backstory about it but yeah well and it's massive because all of the voice actors were at galaxy con and my two favorite characters
Starting point is 00:44:09 which I'll tell you after the clip the chat some of the chats probably are already guessed it um they were there and it was just so funny there were so many good cosplayers of this cartoon but again as one of the characters said um if you brought your kid here you're terrible parents yeah shows pretty you knew what you're getting into when you if you know this show and you brought your kids yeah the show's pretty good you get you what you deserve. It's pretty naughty. They don't censor themselves at all.
Starting point is 00:44:49 So that is the setup for my, this is my favorite character that you're about to play. This is a short-ish thing. I took it from a kind of compilation that Nicole sent us, and since you liked the last one the most, that's one I captured.
Starting point is 00:45:02 So here you go. Enjoy. When I'm done, your status quo will know it's race is run. Oh. Oh, this will be fun. Who's the voice actor? It sounds like Alan Tudic, is it?
Starting point is 00:45:24 I don't know, but I love him. He was just as cheeky in person as his character. So that is Alistair. He is the radio demon in a show called Hasbin Hotel that's playing on Amazon Prime. And so you basically have this whole story of angels and devils and how the may, I guess it's Lucifer because he was an angel and he wanted to do different things and he was cast to hell. And then he, him, and it was almost kind of like Eve, but it wasn't Eve, but that was his wife and they had a daughter. And the daughter wants to save people in hell.
Starting point is 00:46:12 So she's trying to get them redemption through the has-been hotel. So, and you just have all these weird characters and, like I said, not safe for kids kinds of content. Lots of cussing, like so much cussing. Really? Okay. Oh. I've never seen this. So I'm, no, I've never seen this.
Starting point is 00:46:37 yeah this is like every i've heard of it every other word is like the f word okay oh yeah lots of cussing it's very stylized you can tell like just looking at this art it's crazy yeah like crazy and so my favorite my favorite rivalry is between alister and vox and vox is the tv demon and alister has been gone for seven years we don't know why but he's back and he's trying to help I forget her name. The devil's daughter. It's not Angel. That's the porn star.
Starting point is 00:47:12 Charlie Morning Star, not Charlie Morning Star. No? No, I think that's right. Yeah, I think that's right. It is Charlie. And so Alistair, for some reason, is helping her try to make husband hotels successful. And so you just have all these really bad people that are trying to figure out how to be good. it's just it's it's it's really it's the weird thing about it yeah the weird thing about it and you kind of
Starting point is 00:47:41 described it already but it's it has uh it's dirty it's cussy it's all the stuff you said right it's adults only for sure but it's got heart except for my son except for your son apparently uh but it has like real heart to it like i've watched it and loved it and i thought that's what surprised me as i came away it's a little bit like what gun does with peacemaker and and suicide, rated our suicide squad. It's like this feeling of like, wow, we're definitely in kind of sketchy territory
Starting point is 00:48:11 when it comes to content, but there's real heart and everything. It's really good. Yeah. Yeah. Look up Alistair's song. There's a band, I believe it's by the Living Tombstones. These are the songs that I was listening to, and I'm like, oh, this Alistair character, who is this? I'm like, oh, my God, it's from a show?
Starting point is 00:48:32 I was like, I got to watch the show. now. And so, Mateo's just waiting for me to get through, again, warning me about episode four. And I got to episode four. And I'm like, all right, dude, I've seen worse. But, you know, he's technically 14. So. Yeah. Also, this is how you're supposed to do it. You're with him with this. You're monitoring it. Exactly. Yeah. You're there. And we're talking about it. And I'm like, what did you think of that? How did that episode make you feel? Yeah. I try not to do therapy. I just said, I'm just there for, oh, oh, you want to talk about it's a funny, I put Rocky Horror Picture show on this morning and, and, and, because she hears me listen to
Starting point is 00:49:14 time warp all the time. And so I'm like, would you like to see? Oh, God. Okay. And so I showed it to her and she's just like, what? And then when Tim Curry comes down is Frankenster her, she's like, is that a man or a woman? I'm like, both. Yeah. There's all sorts of stuff going on there. Oh, my God. I was just watching her watch it. And I just, I don't know. Is that good parenting? I don't know. But I just, I just loved it. And then I stopped. I stopped after Tim Curry song. No, I think it is. What you've done is basically take away the forbidden fruit and instead made it made it. So you're like, all right, well, we know what we're getting into. I'm here with you. It's a good. It's a good. It's actually really good. Yeah. You should watch.
Starting point is 00:50:04 You should follow this up with... Go ahead, Brennan. Just don't let her watch the episode, or not the episode, the scene of Rocky Horror Picture Show where Columbia's nipple peaks through the open hole in the front of her shirt. Oh, I didn't know. I didn't know that happened. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:16 Yeah. And I've seen that movie probably a hundred times. Yeah. Well, when you see it on the big screen, the audience is supposed to go peekaboo. Oh, I didn't. They never did that in the ones we went. That's crazy. Really?
Starting point is 00:50:31 Yeah. All right. I've always been afraid. to go to a live show. I did that once. I don't remember the nipple thing. Did they put a V on your cheek? No, but we did.
Starting point is 00:50:41 I always mixed this up. We had somebody's people had spray bottles. We had toast and we had hot dogs. And we were throwing hot dogs at the screen, toast at the screen. I don't remember what the spray bottles were for. When it's raining, you spray water. There's also toilet paper.
Starting point is 00:50:58 And then you hold the newspaper over your head when other people are spraying water bottles. wild okay i don't remember the nipple thing though maybe i just forgot but yeah i want to go again it's okay anyway i'm sorry i sidetracked us like usual it's all good hey nicole have you seen hell of a boss is the other thing that she made a few years earlier than that you should watch you should watch that's also on prime it's called hell of a boss it's uh let's see hell imp blitz uh runs an assassination business targeting the world of the living using a spell book borrowed from the prince of hell.
Starting point is 00:51:33 So similar themes. Oh, man, she's fascinated with hell. She's into it. This was supposed to be, I can't remember which, it's either hell of a boss or has been hotel, but one of these, she had signed, she was contractually signed to do this at Cartoon Network or somewhere like that, like adult swim or something. And there was some big falling apart that all fell apart and she had just decided to do it on her own and then Prime picked it up, 824 signed her or something.
Starting point is 00:51:57 I only know all this because Carter's way into the origin of all this. So we've been, we've talked about it. Okay. Oh, that's so cool. She would have freaked out at GalaxyCon. I mean, it was the whole panel. Like, almost every single head voice on the cartoon were there. Did you have a favorite, I saw a lot of pictures of you there.
Starting point is 00:52:19 Did you have a favorite celebrity that you ran into and got pictures with or whatever? Yes, I saw. It has to be a weird owl. I met Guillermo. Oh, Giermore. That's right. Yeah. So both Nandor and Gierma were supposed to be there, Nandor cancalled last minute.
Starting point is 00:52:36 I'm not mad at you, but boo. Yeah, they're proud in engagement. And now I am a wizard. Oh, my God. It's so the creepy paper. And Weird Al was there, and Shatner was there. Mark, I was trying to give us all like a little fan experience, but Mark's like, I, I'm not comfortable meeting famous people. I'm just like
Starting point is 00:53:02 All right Sure It's like What if it was Bob? What if it was Bob Vila Or the ghost of Bob Vila? Oh so Norm Abrams I had to
Starting point is 00:53:13 I always have to force him to interact With famous people He thinks I'm so weird Even famous like famous like famous wood people He's not into that For whatever reason I mean he obviously admires their work But he doesn't care about like fanboying over it
Starting point is 00:53:28 No Unless he's taking a class from him. That's how he wants to interact with them. Not necessarily go up to a signing and be like, hi, I'm Mark. I respect it. I respect it. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:53:42 I don't care. I'm like, hi, Guillermo. I love you. And he's like, let's take pictures. Yeah, you guys had some great, like you guys did all a little candidly looking. He did all. He was doing all of that. He's like, oh my God. Okay, let's act scared.
Starting point is 00:53:58 And let's do our fashion pose. Because I told him, I said, when I see you on the red carpet, you are fabulous. Yeah. Anyway. He seems very, very, very nice, that guy. He's wonderful. He's wonderful. And his real name's Harvey.
Starting point is 00:54:11 Yeah. Yeah. But it's not here, Mo. One would assume. Harvey Gullen, right? Gillen, Gellin, Gellin, Gellin. Gellin. Something like that.
Starting point is 00:54:23 Something like that. Yeah. Oh, Bruce Campbell was there, too. His line was nuts. Oh, yeah. He was a ton of people there. I hope it comes back next year. It's the first time St. Louis has had a con in many, many, many, many years.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Really? I would have figured you guys would be on the map every year for St. Louis. I don't know. We kind of suck. But you got that big arch? You got the arch? You got the Cardinals?
Starting point is 00:54:50 You got stuff? If you ask Mark what the arch is, he's like, that's just a handle for God to hold on it through Missouri into the motions. that's great it's half McDonald's is what it is it's a McDonald's all right so tell us about part two here tell the family friendly one yeah family friendly one of my favorite voice actors one of um it is I believe it's already been renewed for season two it is on Netflix so I always hesitate to recommend stuff on Netflix because they like to cancel anything I recommend I'm pretty sure it is up for a season two.
Starting point is 00:55:31 It is delightful. It is spooky, but safe, spooky. I'm not going to say, oh, I almost said it. The clip that you're going to play. Just play a few of them. This is my favorite character. I'm only playing clips from my favorite characters. And I'm going to tell you who it is after we listen to the clip.
Starting point is 00:55:53 All right. Here are your, here's about 30 seconds of it. Here you go. Greetings, potential slaves. I am the cobra king. Let's get into it. You're out of this. I shall call you Jarbon.
Starting point is 00:56:05 After the first man I ever tortured. That was not me. The deer and I have a temporary alliance. I want the beach music. I ate all your chapsticks. Yeah, I can't do this. What did I say about your hands? That they are my grabbers for committing my darkest deeds.
Starting point is 00:56:22 That's why we don't eat yogurt in the car. I don't know. I don't know who that is, though. Who is that? Okay. My favorite black mirror set of shows the USS calibration. Oh, yeah. USS.
Starting point is 00:56:42 Right, so it was Jesse Plemons. What is that? Oh, no, the two, and they made a follow-up. Yes. Yeah, they made two of them. Yeah. And it's where they basically. McAllister.
Starting point is 00:56:54 McAllister. Yes, yes. USS McAllister. So part one and part two, that, who you just heard is Abidon. He is a demon trapped in a, you know, mid-century little boy's body. And he can't get out. He's locked in this little boy's body. And he is stuck at this hotel, which is called the haunted hotel.
Starting point is 00:57:22 And it is the story, you heard the, the sister of the previous owner and that is voiced by you got the voices up don't you I do what's her name what's the character's name? Is it Catherine? Catherine is the owner
Starting point is 00:57:44 Esther? And then Esther's somebody else there's like a ton of ghosts in this hotel Maria Bamford's in this and I love her so that's exciting. Oh she's great Who's the S&L actor? Oh, Will Forte?
Starting point is 00:58:00 That are you talking about? Will Forte. Oh, I think you said, girl. Sorry, I was looking at the wrong thing. No, sorry. Will Forte. Will Forte is in it. I love him.
Starting point is 00:58:08 He's wonderful. Boo to you. It's just a funny, it's a funny show. It's, it's, you know, there's some cartoon blood. Sure. There is a lot of, And there's two kids that live with the mom and they're trying to, like, run this haunted hotel and just all the different characters that kind of come in and they think they have a guest and it's actually a ghost.
Starting point is 00:58:40 And so the house is just attracted, it tracks ghosts constantly. And Abidon is like, you know, human flesh. But he reminds me of the little boy. Do you remember the meme that went around, Peaches and Cream? Peaches and green or something like that. No. Do you know what I'm talking about? I don't know what that is.
Starting point is 00:59:00 No. No idea. If you Google it, you'll see it, but it's a little boy with like a bowl cut and a little, he's in a little British, you know, suit and frilly things. And that's Abadon. All right. So he's like this awful demon that has killed, you know, millions and tortured millions. millions and he's stuck in and he has no power
Starting point is 00:59:27 Brian you're fan of community right I love community so this I knew this name looked familiar the guy that's that wrote and is now the showrunner on the show Nicole's talking about was was one of the head writers for community for 13 episodes oh really cool okay well that's
Starting point is 00:59:44 it's great writing it's a really good show not 13 episodes in the Yahoo season though right no I don't think so but like Rick and Morty after that he did that thing Randy recommended a while back the Crapopolis series worked with Dan Harmon a lot right
Starting point is 01:00:01 because sure looks like at least twice and did Rick and Morty yeah yeah at least twice they do mention Rick and Morty I think in like the cret like the beginning I saw Rick and Morty somewhere he was a producer on the Archer which is kind of cool
Starting point is 01:00:16 oh wow yeah so I've got some so basically the voice of Abadon is the owner of the company from that Black Mirror, USS, Gallister. Yeah, Jimmy Simpson. Yeah. The blonde guy.
Starting point is 01:00:32 Yeah, he's from Westworld. Oh, my God. I can't believe. And House of Cards and Mr. Root. Mr. Robot? He's never not good, that guy. No, he is always good. Avedon.
Starting point is 01:00:43 And always has a face like, not going to play the hero probably, but going to play the guy who helps the hero out. Yeah. Yeah. And he does the same thing in this show, too. It's, I mean, it's kind of weird. I think that's, if I were to be an actor, movie, TV, whatever, those are the kinds of roles I'd much prefer over the good guy hero. I want to be the guy who has a lot more range.
Starting point is 01:01:11 He's doing a lot of voice work these days. He's in Star Wars, the Bad Batch, the animated thing, Star Trek Prodigy, the other animated thing, Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earth. He's green arrow on that. That's kind of cool. He's in the Twisted Metal Show. as a voice so yeah okay so i'm sorry i brought to the three weeks kills me because i i store uh honorable mention for the jean wilder documentary honor oh i need to see that jim candy who's jim candy his little brother his little brother jim jim i was hoping for a
Starting point is 01:01:46 nicolism today it took of the bennett but we got one i just trying to get i'm just like i have so watch this share. Oh, I get it. Especially this time of year, I watch so much crap. I've seen like 10 horror movies. I'd love to tell you about all of them. But instead, I'm going to tell you about a real life horror situation. Gosh, really?
Starting point is 01:02:04 Yep. I thought you were going to give us the killer or don't save her or something. I was, but instead, you're getting this. That's my point. It's just like too much. It's hard to get it all. So I watched the six-part documentary. So I feel like when I do that, I have to talk about it because it was six parts.
Starting point is 01:02:21 and I really went through it. So here it is. Here's your clip. Let's check it out. The same thing with the victims. I've looked at all of, I don't know, if you notice here, we got pictures of every one of the victims here. And believe it or not, for the last 12 years, I've studied these photos of these victims. And there is no, we have a shot of all of the victims together here.
Starting point is 01:02:43 And when you look over to the photos, I have no recollection of any of them. Never met them. All right. That is convicted. and now executed no longer with us. Serial killer John Wayne Gacy. Kind of bummer, the two most popular John, three most popular John Wayne's are John Wayne,
Starting point is 01:03:02 the real, you know, the Duke. John Wayne Gacy, and then you got John Wayne Bobbitt. John Wayne Bobbitt, yeah. That's a real bummer for the John Wain's, really. I think they really should, they should just call him John Gacey and John Bobbitt and leave Wayne out of it, right? Because it's a middle name.
Starting point is 01:03:16 Just leave the middle name out of it. I kind of agree. I don't know. Yeah. They don't know me as Nicole Rosemary Spagnolo. Well, if you're a serial killer, they would. That's how they do it. Serial killers, you always get the names unless you're, if you're Ed Gien.
Starting point is 01:03:29 Yeah, Ted Bundy, you don't hear Theodore Edward Bundy or whatever. I don't know what his middle of the minute. That's because his full name is Ted Knight Bundy. Oh, shit. No. Well, are, was he saying Caddyshack? I love that scene. Well, I can't remember.
Starting point is 01:03:46 Anyway, sorry, you took me in a place. Sorry. Sorry. I'll just get him out of my system by saying, Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice. There you go. Perfect. There it is.
Starting point is 01:03:55 All right. John Wayne Gacy, devil in disguise is the documentary. I'm for whatever reason, a little bit fascinated with why that guy got so much attention in ways that I don't think he deserved it. Like when he was in jail after all the convictions and waiting on death row, he kept selling his paintings, which were garbage, by the way. But people loved him, ate a month. But because they were his paintings.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Yeah, they loved it. They were the most... Are they like a clowns? Yeah, some of them. Not all of them, but some of them. Because he was a clown before all this, and he would do kids parties and all that. He was, he is the most, maybe not the most, but nearly the most narcissistic sounding person I've ever heard of my life. His interviews, which this is scattered a bunch of these in here.
Starting point is 01:04:41 This is not just about interviewing him. It's mostly... Is this on Netflix? No, it's a peacock. Peacock? Peacock, yep. It's six-parties. and I was a little worried it was going to be one of these like dramatic music and now we did
Starting point is 01:04:54 it's not like that it's very very well done very methodic very interesting they have a lot of victims and his sisters interviewed a bunch and talks about his early childhood and all this and he took a hit to the head once that I guess you know really rocked his brain and they think now that that had something to do with where he ended up or why he acted on what he acted on a whole bunch of stuff like that and it gets deep into maybe even a bunch of cases that are still cold cases
Starting point is 01:05:23 that were probably him but because of some goof-ups on the police side we don't even have ways to do retro DNA work on it and so it's like this whole thing but I don't know what it is there's something about the 70s era
Starting point is 01:05:35 serial killers that just fascinates me not in a titillating way but in like what was it about that decade and I think what it is came away from it going in a world with cellophones, cellophones, cellophones. We should have called them cellophones. Why didn't that happen? It was all the lead that they were consuming. Yeah, well, it might have been that. But it was definitely, you know, if we lived in a world
Starting point is 01:06:00 of cell phones and satellite imagery and the internet and everything else that we have today, these, I don't think 90% of these even happen because there's something about that era where you could hide real good. And nobody, there was no DNA. That didn't, that wasn't a technology yet. That would come decades later, decade and a half later. They didn't have these other kind of crime things that we do now. We're much better at this stuff, at detection and that sort of thing. And that's why I feel like now you don't really hear about these guys as much because it's way too easy to get caught in modern times than it was in the 70s.
Starting point is 01:06:37 And in the 70s, they're digging mass graves under their houses and just doing the weirdest stuff. Yeah. And you're getting away. Yeah, exactly. It's gnarly, though. I, I, uh, Halloween's a great time for, uh, true crime documentaries, by the way. This is a recommendation of mine. A side recommendation is if you're going to, you know, consume these, do it around Halloween because
Starting point is 01:06:56 somehow it justifies it. Uh, but it's good. I think it was really good. It's long. All right. Six hours, roughly. Uh, so it's a bit of a beast to get, to get through. But I was pretty riveted the whole time and it, and I learned a bunch of things I
Starting point is 01:07:09 didn't know, but that guy never really admitted it, even though he did and then he would and then he would retract and then he would say at one point like he said I've never met these people in that clip dude you know he met them you freaking killed them did terrible things to their bodies before and after they died and you buried him under the house
Starting point is 01:07:29 what do you mean you never met them like he's just but he says it with this cold confidence and zero remorse this dude has no remorse at all he's a psycho like true psych he's dead is he dead yeah they killed him they electrocuted him and uh or not electrician
Starting point is 01:07:44 What do you call it? Lethal injection. I think in Missouri, I think is where it happened. Really? I might be getting that mixed up. Zach Baggins' haunted museum in Vegas has a ton of his artwork. You can, you know, walk through and see his, you know, his prison uniform and a bunch of his artwork. And, yeah. He claimed he was using the money for that to pay for his lawyers, but a lot of it was unaccounted
Starting point is 01:08:11 for him, going into these weird accounts. Like, the guy was. always skeeving yeah yeah and he had like guards guards doing weird stuff for him and uh other inmates like he's very very good at manipulating which is uh yeah kind of a core tenant of the of this type personality but anyway is wild ride i'd recommend it if you're into such things if you're not totally get it uh but it's uh it's quite good well well made and uh is available now on peacock in all six parts they also have the dramatized yeah you can do that instead Or even has been a little scary.
Starting point is 01:08:46 A little bit of scary. Go do all the hotel stuff. Do the... Well, husband hotel is not for people that like singing because they sing a lot. Yeah. And I'm actually okay. Remember how I told you I don't really like it when Bob's Berger's has singing episodes? I like Hasman Hotel and I like Rocky Horror because from the start, they sing.
Starting point is 01:09:10 They sing throughout the whole thing. True musical. yeah so you know what you expect is yeah like it's just yeah it's just part of it so like when someone would randomly like come out with song i'm like what the hell's going on yeah yeah if it was you'd probably like bozberger's when they do that if it was all it was but that would also not make that would not be as good for bob berz exactly exactly yeah true well uh go check all these out at quicktms.l i and uh you can watch all the stuff yourself assuming you have the services that we've mentioned. Nicole?
Starting point is 01:09:45 Right. Any wood-based things we should mention before you go? Mark just finished my built-in desk. Go to his Instagram because it is absolutely gorgeous. And it took him probably six months to do. And he cussed a lot. A lot. His husband hotel.
Starting point is 01:10:07 Did he sing the whole time is the important thing? No, not at all. He was probably cussing the whole time. And a happy, happy birthday to my son, Mateo, who turns 14 tomorrow. 14, holy shis. 14. He's 14. That's crazy. And if you want to...
Starting point is 01:10:26 Yeah. Hello. Do we loser? Costco finally turned their Wi-Fi off to say... Sorry, sorry. My stupid phone. I was just going to say, shout out to SKS props who gave him a 3D printed Borderlands map. And Mateo painted all himself.
Starting point is 01:10:47 And I was just, I was just appreciative of any, any other male role model figure. And Steve really helped us out with that because, you know, it's been a really crappy year for that kid, you know, for both of us. But especially for him, he's, you know, he's becoming, he is a teenager. He's going through all that awful stuff with the teenagers go through. plus all of this medical stuff. And it's just, I just really, really appreciate Steve. Yeah. And I appreciate you guys, like, welcome him into the video game stuff because, you know.
Starting point is 01:11:26 Of course. He's just like, I'm just tired of hanging out with you, mom. Well, he's welcome anytime he wants to pop in and do that stuff. Absolutely. Well, wish him, I wish him the happiest of birthdays. And I will. I will. I love you guys.
Starting point is 01:11:40 Bye. Bye. See you. All right. poor kid it's already hard enough doing the puberty and the whatnot
Starting point is 01:11:47 I know remember 14 that was a freaking shit show teen being teenage especially the early teenagers yeah I didn't love it do not
Starting point is 01:11:56 do not look fondly back on any of that although I got really tall at the end and then people quit being jerks to me so yeah that was about like
Starting point is 01:12:02 near the end it was a lot better but at the beginning no 13 14 15 it's like important for kids I guess you need to go through these things
Starting point is 01:12:10 or whatever but hell's bell Junior High is a shit show. Jeez. Yeah. Gosh, dang it. All right. That's going to do it for two days' show. Do not forget that all the things you might ever need from us can be found at a simple

Yeah, it'll be fun. I don't even know what the hell happened. She's been kind of out of pocket for the whole thing. But I'm excited to hear about how that all went. As a result, that's what pushed done away to the next day. And there's all kinds of other shit going on. Gotcha. A special shout out to a listener, Dan, he knows who I'm talking about. I don't want to out him entirely, but we have a listener. It's going through some big time medical stuff today.
Starting point is 01:13:19 I just wanted to know what we're thinking about him. 2025 can eat a poop. This is a dumb year. I don't like this year. This year is dumb. Only one good thing has happened in 2025. What's that? TMS Vegas.
Starting point is 01:13:32 That was fun. Oh, that was fun. That was a great time. Yeah, that is always a high point of it, except everyone got sick at the end. Except that everyone got COVID. Yeah. Aside from the super spreader event of a. of it. It went great. It was
Starting point is 01:13:43 such a great time to see everybody. So the rest of the year, though, can take a giant dump. All right, that's it. Thanks for listening, everybody. Brian, let's play a song and get these folks on their way. Yeah, let's go for an indie at the end with the band 37 houses. This is a band that's
Starting point is 01:13:58 got an album coming out soon, but this is a single. This is a song called Strangers. They've also just announced some West Coast dates, so they are going to be touring. You can find out. Just look for 37 houses online. Don't go to Zillow, because you won't find it there. Here is the song, Strangers from 37 Houses.
