Starting point is 00:00:00 On this date in 1965, Ford started offering 8-track cassette players in their Thunderbird and Mustang models. Unfortunately, the tapes had a tendency to get caught in the player, which led to a lot of 8-track roadkill as drivers threw their discarded tapes on the side of the road. Anyway, jam up our tape by supporting TMS today at patreon.com slash TMS. Coming up on the morning stream, whimsical path to Pizza Hut. I like Dong! Lady Sipowitz. Newtown. Who dis?
Starting point is 00:00:27 In Zikovia, Uber rides you. Cheap trick, short bursts. Who ordered the naked chicken chalupa? The big fat Thorbowski. Batman Bob. Your little Ultron mouth. Can I get my sandwich delivered? Extra pickles?
Starting point is 00:00:40 Hold the nude. Four day cookie plan. I don't like pronouncing Matthew Wees. They call that guy Bruce. Chasing the Dragons with TV's Travis and more on this episode of The Morning Stream. Hi, we want you to come to Bonanza. So here's what we're going to do. I don't joke when it comes to money.
Starting point is 00:00:58 It's much too sacred. The morning stream. He's taking a dump in a can. Hello, everybody, and welcome to TMS. This is the morning stream for Tuesday, September 15th, 2000, and 26. I'm Brian. I'm Scott, and that's Brian. Hi, Brian.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Off to a great start. This makes me feel really good. good about the TV's Travis segment. Yeah, that was a new one. I called myself Brian and almost introduced Scott to the program. That was weird.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Great. Excellent. Well, I think that may reflect poorly on my sleep habits last night. Probably. Yeah, probably. Travis, go easy on us today. All right, buddy? Please, please.
Starting point is 00:01:54 It's going to get ugly in here. Anyway, it's nice to see you all. Welcome to the mid-month of September. It got nice and cool last night. open the windows. Gorgeous. Did not want to get up this morning. In fact, you know what?
Starting point is 00:02:07 All the perfect conditions. I went to the gym yesterday, came home, showered before bed, which is an amazing thing to do. You're a pre-bed shower, huh? Not only when I've been to the gym. If it's a normal day, I'll do it in the morning. But when I've gone to the gym and I'm all sweaty and disgusting,
Starting point is 00:02:26 come home, you don't want to sleep like that, right? No, gosh. I go shower and then I get in the bed. and I got like fresh shorts on and all this. And I'm like, oh. And then you're just cozy. And you can bring out the comforter again that you used to use,
Starting point is 00:02:40 but summer made out too hot so you don't use it anymore. And then at three o'clock in the morning, you forgot that Ramona's in the basement. And Ramona's coming upstairs. And Ramona is confused because it's in the middle of the night and she had a bad dream. And her dad had to go to work at like 4 a.m. And so she wanders into the room and gets in,
Starting point is 00:03:02 with us and then I have to spend the next three hours just making sure I'm trying to shut my brain off because I'm worried about her and him and everybody and all this anyway so then I lost all those hours so who knows how I'll make that up it was dumb it was dumb but today we'll see if it affects my my my crack trivia knowledge question you won't you'll still you'll still slaughter me I know it's it's inevitable like like snapping Thanos's fingers it's inevitable it's inevitable Last time we did this, though, you whipped me pretty good in the end. No, I think you still won. Oh, that's still win?
Starting point is 00:03:38 Yeah, you still won. I thought you beat me last time. No, you had a little panic attack and you still beat me. So does not bode well for me even when you... Oh, that was that day. When you're feeling your top game, exactly. Oh, shit. All right.
Starting point is 00:03:53 We'll see how we do today. Yeah. I'm watching the Hulk yesterday. And don't ask why I just was like, hey, I'm already on Tooby. I'm getting worked done. And we're talking about the old Hulk, right? Oh, yeah, old Hulk. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:05 You know, freaking Bill Bixby still. Loufragno, Bill Bixby, right. The cheesy, awful 70s program known as the Hulk. Mm-hmm. And, you know, it's pretty bad. It's, like, it's bad. Like, nobody can watch that and tell me it's good. But I have nostalgia for it.
Starting point is 00:04:21 I have feelings for it. And it's all just, like, mystery of the week. And let's see if we can solve a little crime. Right. Newtown, who is. Yeah, exactly. And where's that reporter? he's at my heels all the time and all the stuff they did.
Starting point is 00:04:34 And so, and the one, yesterday's was filmed somewhere out by I-80 here in Salt Lake. It was weird. Oh, really? Didn't expect that. But it was a very bad episode. And they all kind of are.
Starting point is 00:04:46 But I'm watching that. And I'm not thinking too much about it. I'm not even barely watching it. It's just in the background, getting work done, not really paying attention. And then we get this message the same day, which I just think is crazy luck.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Synchronicity. Yeah, no kidding. Robert from Hendertucky writes in, Dear Scarecrow and Batman, y'all know how the network made creators of the Incredible Hulk in the 70s used Banner's middle name David instead of Bruce because they thought it sounded gay.
Starting point is 00:05:17 No one ever did that with Bruce Wayne, a man who is constantly rebuffing the advances of Julie Newmard, Lee Meriwether, and Earth a kit while keeping a young man in a cave just saying, holy sign-off, Batman, off I go. says Robert from Hender Tucky.
Starting point is 00:05:33 It's a really good point. Yeah. Yeah. Never really thought about it. Why didn't Bruce Wayne get the treatment of, oh, that sounds too gay. Yeah. Maybe he's got no middle name. Does Bruce Wayne have a middle name?
Starting point is 00:05:47 Alfonso. Bruce Alfonso Wayne. Bruce Alfonso Wayne. Yeah. Probably named that. Let's take a look. I wonder what Bruce Wayne's middle name is. Let's see if we can find it here.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I didn't realize that David. was Bruce Banner's middle name. I felt like they just made that up to... I guess we'd have to verify because I don't even know if we're being told the truth by Robert and Hender Tucky. Exactly. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Bruce Banner. Thomas Wayne? Oh, is it basically his dad's... His dad's name. His dad's name. So let's see. In the comic books, Bruce Banner's full name is Robert Bruce Banner. So it's not. There's no David.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Interesting. But it's Robert. Robert. Bruce Banners and he just goes by Bruce. Yeah, wow. See, in the 70s live action series. Yeah, Bruce Thomas Wayne confirmed. It is Bruce Wayne's middle name is Thomas. So you, hinder-tucky, you're just spread, it's fake news.
Starting point is 00:06:43 You're spreading misinformation. It's funny because his, yeah, his middle name is actually Bruce. They call him Bruce. Yeah, they call that guy Bruce. Oh. All right. Here's, I don't know that it's the same. It just confirmed it.
Starting point is 00:06:56 And the TV show did move his, move the name Bruce to the middle name. So he's partially right that they moved They moved Bruce to David Banner's middle name on the TV show. Oh, I see. Okay. Oh, right. But the name David.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Yeah, I don't know. I mean, the whole thing came from this. There's even a quote here. This is amazing. I've never heard it before. But the executive is quoted as saying to Stan Lee and actor Lou Farigno who were in this meeting.
Starting point is 00:07:29 is quoted as saying, quote, Bruce is too gayish. Gayish, that's funny. Gayish. Not gay, but gayish. Yeah, maybe tweak that around a little bit. And what's funny, I think... He's metrosexual is basically what he's trying to say.
Starting point is 00:07:47 He's not gay, but he's gayish. He's going to help you with your fashion choices or whatever. But I'll be honest, if I met a dude named Bruce and I met a dude named Davey's, David. Yeah. And I was prone to deciding which one might be gay just based on the name. I'd say David. Yeah. I'm not no offense to any David's. I'm just and you know, especially if you say it David. Yeah. Yeah. You know, that actually that actually might be why that might be why shit's creek is kind of it's kind of done. I didn't think about it. It really it may have ruined David. Not ruined it. Yeah. Not ruined pointed in that direction. Yeah. All right. Well, things change. You know, it's been like 50 years or whatever it's been. Yeah. I think we can. Yeah. Like how far we've come. I do recommend it, though.
Starting point is 00:08:34 It's ridiculous and stupid and fun to watch. Why? You've got all these Marvel movies and TV shows you haven't watched yet. Yeah, but I'm not going to watch Wonder Man. I can't passively watch those, though, right? Did you watch Agatha all along? Yeah, I like that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:49 That was good. Yeah, because we got Vision Quest coming up next month. So I recommend, I watched Age of Ultron a couple days ago. I'm going to say that movie it was better than I remembered it being. It's still not, you know, it's probably the worst of all the Avengers, the films called Avengers,
Starting point is 00:09:10 but, suffered for a sophomore slump kind of thing, right? Yeah, yeah. There are aspects of it that are great. I think James Spader, I don't like, and this is an easy thing not to like. I think a lot of people don't like.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Ultron's mouth moving. I think that's a, that's a dumb thing as he's talking and going, well, I've got no strings. And his little Ultron mouth is moving. That, that still bothers me. It's very transformers of them to do that. Yeah. But the whole thing with Sokovia and the waste of getting rid of Quicksilver, don't know why. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:53 That was weird. But a lot of the rest of it's really, really good. What about, what's her name, having an accent? but then not having an accent. Yes, yeah, Scarlet Witch all of a sudden talking like a Missouri girl after this movie, this movie, she's like, Donny Stark, you kill my village. We saw a missile with Stark printed on side. Okay, Viz.
Starting point is 00:10:16 Let's go play, let's go dress up for Halloween. I don't know if they ever tried to explain that. I don't think they did. They kind of did at the end of Vision Quest with when she gets out of the fake reality, the TV reality that she created. Her accent kind of comes back at the end of that show. Like basically, she was adopting that,
Starting point is 00:10:39 everything that she wanted for this perfect life was outside of Sikovia and her accent. She got all that magic, man. She can just kind of change it. She can do it if she wants. She do what she wants, exactly. Or Wanda Vision. Does she say Vision Quest, WandaVision?
Starting point is 00:10:55 Yeah, WandaVision. Excited for Vision Quest, but I'd tell you more. Is that coming out? When's the premiere? Sometime in October, I don't know if they've got to have a date. I'm sure there's a date. Yeah, it should be by now, right? Yeah, I would think if they... Man, that took them a long time to do, though, didn't it?
Starting point is 00:11:11 It really did, yeah. October 14th, so one month from now. Prepare. Prepare. I have been thinking, though, because, like, I... Every once in a while, I get the urge when I'm Uber driving to... see if I can do an accent for the whole ride. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:30 You've talked about this before. Have you ever full on done it? I've never full on done it because I, you know, I just, it feels, it feels, it feels, I don't know, I don't know, dorky or whatever, but I, you know, I want to do the, the Eastern accent. Oh, yes, well, you know, oh, red light already. Why? It just changed, change so quickly and just see, you know, what they say. And if they say, where are you from, I'd say Sokobia.
Starting point is 00:11:57 and just see if they say, that's not a real place. That was invented for the Avengers movies. Okay, yeah, I guess you got me. That'd be amazing. I wonder how quickly people glom onto it. They'd probably take a minute. I don't know. I feel like it's so.
Starting point is 00:12:14 It's pretty rare you hear it in the MCU. It doesn't come up. Oh, glom onto the Socovia thing. Yeah. And I think you've got to be, you know, you've got to be even pretty well versed in the, the MCU to really, I mean, I guess it was pretty prominent with the Civil War and the Socovia Accordes and stuff like that. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Still, it sounds real. That's the problem. It sounds like a real place. Totally sounds real. Even more than Wakanda. Wakanda sounds sort of kind of real. Right. That ship has sailed.
Starting point is 00:12:44 We're not going back to that. Yeah. No, I feel like I could get away with Sukvia. And if they say, wait, isn't that from the MCU? Oh, real place. Real place. It's real place. It's real place.
Starting point is 00:12:54 It's between Koso. and just make up some bullshit. I dare you. Just do it on a short ride so you don't have to maintain it very long. Exactly. That's the trick. And record it so we can hear it on the show. Everything in my car gets recorded, as you know. That's right, because you got that camera going all the time. That camera always going.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Is the audio pretty good? I remember last time we listened to one of the clips you sent me was, I can't remember if it was good or not. You can't really, you can, if I don't have the music up, then it records pretty well. pretty good. Well, Sarge says he went to high school in Wakanda, Illinois, and it's pronounced the same. Oh, funny. Yeah. Spelled different.
Starting point is 00:13:33 W-A-U-C-O-N-D-A. Wow. Yeah. It looks almost like a Native American name to me. It kind of does, yeah. Might be. Maybe that's where they got it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Stanley's sitting around or whoever hit the Black Panther stuff. I don't remember. BioCow says do a Fargo accent when you, oh, my God. See, I don't know if I can keep that up. I'd have to really watch some, you know, watch some Fargo and, you know, oh, yeah, no, it's right by the pizza out there. Did you need me to drop you off at the first entrance or the second entrance of Walmart? See, this is pretty good. You got it already, I think.
Starting point is 00:14:09 You could do it. Why not? The problem is I look like I could be from Eastern Europe as opposed to looking like I could be from Wisconsin. If you do the Eastern Europe thing, you got to wear a track suit. If you do that, you're set. Okay. All right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:24 that were really sell it to the people who are maybe on the edge there. Posh English. Yeah, posh English. There you go. It says here that you're going to 1743 Broadway. Is that correct? Oh, my Lord. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Love it. And probably the more outlandish, the accent, the less they'd be inclined to question it because they'd be like, oh, well, that is so weird. There's no way he'd like fake that accent. do like Vietnam. Just a, just a, you could piss him off and confusing at the same time. What do you mean Vietnamese?
Starting point is 00:14:59 Yeah. Like I'm worried about Charlie coming over. No, no, no, no. Like you do like a full on like a very, probably very, would be seen as rather racist of you to do it. Exactly. I'm not even going to try it here. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:12 It's, uh, is the, I'm trying to do anything Asian. Oh no. I follow this guy who's a, he's a, he's from Vietnam. Or no, his parents are from Vietnam. He grew up here, and he sounds like me and you when he's just talking, but he can do that accent so well. And there is something so funny to me about an energetic, hyped up Vietnamese accent.
Starting point is 00:15:37 I can't explain it. I don't even know where to point for an example. Yeah, I'd be curious. It's hard for me to visualize. I can't explain it. The lady at our Kim's nail salon is kind of like it. She sounds like that, too. I'm a big fan.
Starting point is 00:15:51 I like it a lot. All right, guys, listen, it's time for some news. If we don't get the news done, then who will, right? It's the fourth estate or the fourth, yeah, the fourth estate here in the states. We've got to take care of freedom of the press. And so Brian and I're going to do our part right now. Here you go. Today's news, very serious news, is brought to you by.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Brought you by Soundography. A new episode went up today. It is all about the band from Rockford, Illinois. You know, the allure of Robin Zander. the charisma of Rick Nielsen, but saw the songs, Stacy. Can you remember the songs? Your mama's all right.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Your daddy's all right. Yeah, two tickets, front row tickets for cheap trick. Come in here. Go to soundography.com to get that reference if you have not gotten that reference. I like Cheap Trick in small bursts. Yes, and you should. You should not like a full week of listening to Cheap Trick. from the very first album to the most recent
Starting point is 00:16:54 because you really start to see the cracks in the walls. The trick gets cheaper and cheaper as you listen. That's right. That's right. Exactly. Let's get to this story. A couple people got my reference. You guys are awesome. Nice job. You guys are seasoned music listeners. Very nice. That's right. Grab a live jacket. This Pizza Hut I'm going to tell you about.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Its particular location is accessible only by boat. Oh, oh. Yeah, this was big news. Not really, but I thought it was cool. It's interesting, yeah. Here is the, here's what it looks like. There's a little dock. The dock has a roof.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Oh, really is like, this is not just like, it's a, it's a pizza hut that's on, just a place you have to take a ferry, like an island that's got a bunch of fast food places on. No, it's like a straight up like destination. Like Pizza Hut only Pizza Hut Island is what this is. Batting down the hatches, this article, says the secures and secure the sales lads. We're going to Pizza Hut. That's right. If you've
Starting point is 00:17:55 ever dreamed of arriving at a pizza chain location by lake, this is your sign to venture over to Shell Knob, Missouri. We're just talking about Missouri in their lakes yesterday. Yeah. A small community in the Ozarks, around 1,000 people. Here you will find a waterfront Pizza Hut accessible by boat. It even has its own dock with a hut-shaped roof, as you saw in that image. after deboarding, you follow a whimsical path up a hill. Wimcical. Wimsyl. They don't get into what whimsy is there, but it's there.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Yeah, I'd be curious to know what makes it whimsical. And there it is, a pizza hut seemingly plucked out of time, complete with the classic red roof. It's the only pizza in the world. There it is interior wise. Oh, they've got the old stained glass, Tiffany lamps. Love it. No other way to do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:43 I wish they had more pictures, but that's kind of all they have. I want to see more pictures. And I'm going to see if I can find better pictures. Yeah, see if you can find the whimsical path. Oh, yeah, let's see, the whimsical path. That's a whole quest chain in World Warcraft, the whimsical path. By the way, you know, thinking about Warcraft forever yesterday, I'm like, all right, well, am I going to stick with a rogue? Yeah, definitely going to stick with a rogue.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Am I going to stick with an or are I going to go undead rogue? I know there's no Torin Road still. No, there is an undead paladin now, so that's interesting. Oh, interesting. Yeah, no kidding. So they're willing to make weird changes. I was I going to say, it's still, I don't know if our guilds decided what faction, because it's not cross-faction this time.
Starting point is 00:19:29 This is like old school. So if you pick horde, you're horde, and you play with no other horde. I'm still picking horde. I mean, come on, it's the horde. Yeah, I just, I guess if you want to raid or whatever with the guild, if the guild goes to alliance, then we're then we can't. Oh, yeah, good point.
Starting point is 00:19:45 So I don't know yet. We haven't, I don't think. The guild wouldn't go alliance. I would hope not. I would hope not. No way. Tanner said he's going to pull it out on the,
Starting point is 00:19:54 on the core discord, see what, or the core guild discord. Yeah. And see what they, what people, you know what if, if,
Starting point is 00:20:01 if the, if the group wants alliance, I'll do alliance. I'd rather not do alliance either. Yeah. I could do that sky, that new skybound race or whatever they're called. And then,
Starting point is 00:20:12 because they get to choose. Because there's a new race in the game too. So they get to, they'll, they get to, they're basically, I mean, they're cheating a little bit. They're basically blood elf models with a slightly different haircut. Right. And so it's easy for them to insert them in there. But basically it's the one race where you can, like a, like the Pandarans or whatever, you can just choose after the initial quest stuff.
Starting point is 00:20:37 You can go, I think I'm going alliance or whatever. But we could, you could go that way and then, you know, end up with something maybe cooler than a stupid human. I ain't being no humans. No, I already cosplays that in my real life. I don't need to do that in the game. Freaking terrible, man. Maybe a skybound rogue.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Is there, is that an option for a... I think they can be rogues, yeah. Okay, all right. I think they might be able to be just about everything. Maybe not warriors, but they can be... I can't remember what I saw. I know they can be mages, rogues, other things. no worries i cannot find the the whimsical path to the pizza hut i did find another shot of the
Starting point is 00:21:18 interior and a shot of the pizza hut sign that looks so like timu it's it's uh horrible let's take a look here all these came through that must mean this is working now okay look at this here it is on the outside boy it really has that ozarks like oh totally does yeah like where's Where's uh Jason, Laura Linny? Uh,
Starting point is 00:21:42 yeah. Yeah. And that screaming blonde girl everyone likes now. Can't they get her name. Uh, Ruth. What,
Starting point is 00:21:48 uh, yeah, it's not Ruth Nega, the other one. No, no, I mean, the character was Ruth.
Starting point is 00:21:52 Oh, oh, oh, actress was, uh, Silver Surfer. The actress is, I really like her.
Starting point is 00:22:00 Yeah, I do too. Julie Garner. Julia Garner. Julia Garner. Julia Garner. Weapons, lady.
Starting point is 00:22:04 She's great. Um, yeah, I want to go here. If I was there, If I'm in the Ozarks, I'm going. For sure. Hell yeah, I'm going.
Starting point is 00:22:12 Man, are you kidding? Pizza Hut? I'm always down for the old school vibe. Totally. Red plastic tumblers, Tiffany lamps, questionable buffet. Yeah. Very questionable buffet.
Starting point is 00:22:25 I'm not even sure those are warming lamps. They were just like lamps. Lamps. Yeah. That's right. Oh, I've so many memories of that place. Anyway, that's the thing you can do. So go do it.
Starting point is 00:22:37 A man. faces eight years in prison after placing fake $10,000 food order to a stranger's address. Oh, boy. Eight years in prison, though, for a... This is fraud, man. DoorDash prank. Yeah. 23-year-old man faces up to eight years.
Starting point is 00:22:51 He hasn't been sentenced yet. But to prison after allegedly using enormous food orders, my guess is they scale it back to... Yeah. Time served or who knows. Something. Including one for over 300 pizzas just to harass people. Oh, people. This wasn't like...
Starting point is 00:23:07 This wasn't one person that he was specifically targeting. No, not pranking just friends or whatever. He's going hardcore. This is in Poland, so different laws too. Polish police arrested the man following an investigation into unpaid cash-on delivery orders placed using other people's personal info. The order was worth more than 37,000 Zotsky. How the hell do you say their currency? Zlati.
Starting point is 00:23:31 Zlotti? Yeah, Zladi. I like Dong. somebody please isolate that for me i like i like i like i like vietnamese dong that's what i like who won the 10,000 pierogi uh yeah it was about 10,000 bucks u.s while another requested 300 pizzas from a single restaurant however the investigators say the alleged harassment went far beyond simple sending people unwanted food with some orders containing personal information and threats direct to their recipients.
Starting point is 00:24:03 Poland Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime or the CBZC. Or the CD Project Red, they're over there too. Anyway, said the investigation began following reports of persistent harassment and threats being sent through comments attached to unpaid food orders. So it's probably more of it, right? The threats. Yeah. Not just the food, but also comes with a side of suggested murder.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Yeah. Feels like maybe that's the real headline is that you threaten murder through this method or whatever, but I don't know why you thought you'd get away with this. Does he say, yes, like 300 pizzas, please also put a note in there. I'm going to kill your family. Yeah, all I can picture is like some dark underworld, like Polish shit is all I can picture. I got a real stereotype in my head about how this all went down. Let's see.
Starting point is 00:24:57 You have crazy bread? Crazy very good. All right. Do you have, do you have the, uh, uh, uh, uh, Italian salad? Oh, just a regular house salad? Okay, one house salad. Do you have a severed finger?
Starting point is 00:25:09 Yeah. You have finger or I can eat? Did you include severed finger? Shima or Zima in the chat says, I'm just sad for the wasted food. It is a lot of wasted food, man. That is a lot of wasted food, yeah. I don't like it. 300 pizzas.
Starting point is 00:25:23 What a waste. I mean, that'll kill you if you eat them, but still, whatever. Yeah. So that was a thing. And then we end with another DoorDash tale. Oh, perfect. Good deal. And this is here in the States.
Starting point is 00:25:35 Not that it couldn't occur somewhere else, but let's bring it back home for this one. This is in Northeast Houston. How is this now Florida? I know, right? The Floridians are pissed. Naked DoorDash driver caught on camera delivering food to Northeast Houston home. I would not eat the food.
Starting point is 00:25:53 I was going to ask. Would you still... If I didn't know. The problem is I wouldn't check my camera footage probably until later. Oh, that's true. Because he... Right, right. I would probably not even know.
Starting point is 00:26:03 He would have left it. I would have eaten it. He's riding home with his wiener out. Right. I'm none the wiser. Let's say you, you think you caught a glimpse, like you got to the door
Starting point is 00:26:14 and got your bag off the porch, just as you see him getting into his car, and you're like, I think he's naked. Now do you still eat the food? Sealed, let's say, the bag folded and stapled shut. All right, no visible tears.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Mm-hmm. I'm not having the vanilla shake. Yeah, that's for sure. Yeah, no wet spots on the bag or anything. Like, no sign of, yeah, no sign of perversory happening with the bag. Uh-huh. It really depends on how sealed up it is. And also how much I trust that because, yeah, if it's a good one where the, the sticker is meant for this.
Starting point is 00:26:54 And when it comes off, you can't just peel it off and then reseal it. No, it tears, that sticker better. tear the bag when I peel it off. Like it better rip the bottom part of the bag that it's attached to. Then I think I'd probably eat it. But then if I went and saw the camera footage first because I was curious.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Yeah. Because I caught it, like you said, caught a glimpse of a butt cheek or something. Yeah. As he got in his car. So I'm like, wait, let me check the footage before I eat. And I see this dude. Here's the, they have some video here. It's blurred out. Oh, do they really? Okay. Let me mute that. No, no. No, need the audio on that commercial. Come on.
Starting point is 00:27:29 Okay. Here we go. Thanks, Fox 26. I need to watch Chelsea. She's got all the guests. She really does. Look at all these inspiring icons. I can't identify any of those people that she's talking to. I don't know who any of them were.
Starting point is 00:27:39 All right, here's this guy. Let me skip around a little. We don't need him. Okay, guys. Really need to set up the story. Here you. Okay, here we go. All right, backed it up.
Starting point is 00:27:52 All right. Rihanna, hurry up. Okay, here we go. Yep. He's buck naked. He's buck naked. Yep. Turns around, walks away.
Starting point is 00:28:00 got so cool rasta hair Houston's pretty dang hot in the summer Oh I bet it's the hot I mean it is the hot I've been there It's freaking miserable there So you know what Okay now that I've seen that Yeah
Starting point is 00:28:15 I'd still be concerned But if the bag is super sealed I would eat the food Capture the video Go viral and get on the news If oh yeah there you go very good if the dude looked more like um
Starting point is 00:28:32 Cipowitz from NYPD Blue oh my gosh now we're now we're because this guy's kind of built he looks all right he's kind of like he takes care of himself he like you know he doesn't know uh uh you know the the blurred out looks like he's not just covered like Alec Baldwin from
Starting point is 00:28:53 head to toe with fur yeah what's great is it kept slowing it down I don't know what this channel was thinking, but they just kept slow-moing it. And certainly not asking this because I think there is a sexist or non-sextic response, but if it's a lady delivering your food naked. Same problem. Yeah. And if you say, so she's fit like him, slightly less concerned.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Yep. If she looks like Sipowitz, lady Sipowitz. Yeah, I'm going to be biased and be more concerned. about either the man or the lady if they're if they're kind of like me if they don't look like they take care of themselves right like the like the dude that we had video of that was drinking somebody's shake when they brought the door dash order up right right which is different because I'm seeing them do the active touching the lips on a thing interfere with your food yes for sure man that would piss me on tweet says Scott would order five more times if she was naked
Starting point is 00:29:53 yeah deeper came back biggest tip shamer got man yep Exactly. No, I don't know. I'm a big believer that in this gig economy job space, people should be clothed. Yeah, I think so too. I just feel strong about it. I want my baristas fully clothed. By the way, can I rip on, I know we've got to get to Travis here in a second, but I'm going to rip really quickly for a second on Panera bread. Do it. Because I am a sip club member, a member of the sip club. I pay my dues. You pay every month for the value that you get from the. the SIP Club memberships. Correct.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Since Thursday. Thursday, the 10th of September, their coffee machine has been down. They are not able to make coffee for the last five days. Are you guys in cahoots with McDonald's in the shake machine or what the hell? It's not like they're like, you know, Panera is off in this weird wasteland of an island next to the Pizza Hut. You know, there's, there are other Paneras.
Starting point is 00:30:57 uh within 10 miles that could provide coffee to this one like help a help a brother panera out and bring some coffee to your your brother panera yeah i don't understand that seems like um a key part of what they do i would go i would freaking go to to target and i would buy four coffee makers and just have them constantly going and making the coffee because they're they've got the the the coffee grounds they've got the hot water they just don't have a machine that's making it. Go get them. Put them in the back. Have them constantly making coffee and say, yep, we're brewing a pot right now. Sorry. It's coming. Yeah, that's an inch or two away from Taco Bell not having tacos.
Starting point is 00:31:39 It kind of is. For four days straight. Granted, you know, their big thing is bread, bagels and chabata and stuff like that. But still. Right there in the name, I guess. All right. Yeah. But I mean, if I'm with you. I'm with you. I'm with you. You know what you ought to do. Send them a thing. I'll bet you get some kind of free extent, like a year. We'll give you another year. on the sip club. Maybe a month. I probably would get an additional month. Something like that. I don't want to get... You don't have to be
Starting point is 00:32:03 complaining. You have to go full carer. I don't have to carry on it. No. You can just be like I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but this one store of this location, it's been really hard because it's my one stop for coffee. I sure miss it. Anyway, just want to let you know, something like that. And they'll come back and go, oh, sir, freaking, here's 20 coupons
Starting point is 00:32:19 and a naked DoorDash driver. You can get wherever you need. Come in for a free kitchen sink cookie. My God, those kitchen sink cookies are so good. I know. I feel like can only like a quarter of it. Like it is a, that is a four cookie, four day cookie plan. Yeah, or four people in the restaurant cut it up and share it. Exactly, yes.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Oh my gosh. I love those. Can't really have them anymore, but I love them. No, you can't. For sure, that's off limits, yeah. Off the Shug list. All right, well, guys, it's time for a fun thing that we do. We're going to do it now, and it's like this.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Don't tell me what I know, Travis. Travis Crawford, TV's Travis, joining us all the way. from the great state of Michigan. What's going on for us? Oh, that's a new one. That was interesting up Peter Gabriel. That is for Roller Coaster Jeff, who is a listener and sent in and said,
Starting point is 00:33:09 you need to go with Hoover the talking seal next time you're on just for fun. That's true you roller coaster, Jeff. Hello. I don't know what that is. What is that? This is a seal. Okay. Saying hello there.
Starting point is 00:33:22 That's a seal that sounds like a human going, Hello there. What? You got to see video of... Oh, yeah. I've never even heard of this. All right. That's something.
Starting point is 00:33:32 I love that kind of stuff. I follow two dudes the own crows. Yeah. And Corvids are amazing because they're so smart. And the way that they mimic your voice is often in the cadence of your voice. So you'll see some that just talk kind of high like parrots. I'm like, that's no big deal. Who wants that?
Starting point is 00:33:48 But this guy with a low... He's like some guy in Spain and his voice is really low. So he'll say, Ola, la, to the bird. And the bird goes... oh la. It's like, oh, got this really deep baritone voice.
Starting point is 00:34:00 Amazing. Anyway, I'll have to look at that. Corvids are scary. I put a video in our TMS chat, Scott, of Hoover the Talking Seals. All right, we're going to give this guy a shot.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Let's give him a little listen. See, here. I don't know why this begins with a countdown. Oh, it's from Real TV. It's number 11. About everything here on Real TV. Take a look and listen to Hoover the Talking Seals.
Starting point is 00:34:25 Say hello? is he saying hello there's this hello there hello there is he saying hello there yeah he's saying hello there that how old is this 84
Starting point is 00:34:41 I've never heard of this I was 14 when this came out give me a little bit yeah I doubt well I don't know how old seals how long they live yeah he probably still with us
Starting point is 00:34:53 what was his final words hello there Goodbye Holy shit The money is in the We're all aliens I won't tell you from my planet Well TV's Travis is here
Starting point is 00:35:12 We're going to do a trivia game We're going to see if Did I actually win the last one Travis? You did? Yes Why don't I? Well, no, we had a tie Oh really?
Starting point is 00:35:21 Nobody won. So we didn't have a tiebreaker then? I had the real and fake Nick Cage character names. I don't have it written down who won. For whatever reason, I'm just sure Brian did, but I've done that before I've been wrong, so I don't know.
Starting point is 00:35:35 I'm going to fire my secretary. All right. Take that. And because of that. If only there was a recorded episode, we could listen to you. That sounds like work. And because of that, we're now at 5-4 in favor of Scott. Brian, you did win last month.
Starting point is 00:35:51 I did. Okay. There we go. Wow. Okay. So he won last month got it within striking range is what it was. think I didn't think I did. I thought that, yeah, you spiked the ball with your... We went to the judge.
Starting point is 00:36:02 Did we go to the tiebreaker? And, hey, I mean, look, I could go back and listen to last month's episode and be completely wrong, but... Right, right, right. No, don't. Don't. But I'm not going to. So, here we are. Bother not. Let's play this month, so I'm very excited. What do you got for us? We will. All right. So we're going to start off with our new favorite game,
Starting point is 00:36:20 which is Describe the movie with the wrong characters. Scott, you're going to start us. So here's your movie description with the wrong character names. Jerry Lee Lewis must form an unlikely team-up with James Bond and work together to fight the evil king Remus Lupus in this fantasy tale. Oh. Can you get that to me one more time? Yep, one more.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Jerry Lee Lewis must form an unlikely team-up with James Bond and work together to fight evil king Remus Lupus in this fantasy tale. I wonder who Remus Lupus is and that actor. There's so many James Bond's to choose from. You're really throwing me off. I remember who played Jerry Lewis. Well, if it's Connery, I'll take a stab. If this is Connery, I think it says Dragon Age.
Starting point is 00:37:14 Not Dragon Age. Dragon Heart. Correct. Dennis Quaid, I could pull out. I could not pull out any of the other ones. And the other one, Lupus. Remus Lewis is what's his name from Fargo season 3, right? David Thulees.
Starting point is 00:37:27 David Thulis, yeah. Oh, okay. There we go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Actually, funny thing is Dragonheart is the first movie. Yeah, Lupin, not Lupus, right? It's not, is it? I think he said Lupus.
Starting point is 00:37:38 It's Lupus. It's never Lupus. It's never Lupus. It's never Lupus. Dragonheart is the first movie I think of with David Thulis. Because I saw that in theaters. That was the first movie I had like a memory of him. I'd seen him probably in a couple things prior to it, but that's the one I remember.
Starting point is 00:37:56 I just remember prisoner of Ascomans, I feel like as the first time I ever saw him. But then I've seen him in things retroactively since. I just love the version of him in Big Mouth just feels like such the perfect representation of David Thuleas. Like it is, you know, it's almost like they just stuck him in a robe and animated him and made him hover all over the place. He's hilarious in his very limited amount of screen time in the Big Lobowski as well. Oh, yeah, he's great in that. man about 10 things are telling me to watch big lobowski again this week I just keep seeing stuff we got a fan who dressed up like the big
Starting point is 00:38:34 lobowski and went to Halloween one year I can't remember his name but he told me that everyone must stick him for fat Thor yeah yeah I can see that I think you didn't start column column Lobowski yeah oh definitely yeah there was a few Loboskies walking around Dragon Khan this year oh yeah sure what was the prominent cosplay by the way was Was there something? I guess there were a lot of dragon crawler Carls. Yep.
Starting point is 00:38:58 The dungeon crawler Carls were everywhere, including Audie Norman did a dungeon carol cosplay, which was really good. How was Audi doing? Was Audi on the any panel stuff with you? Yeah. He was on the Those Were the Days panel with Stephen and myself and Amy. We had our substitute Amy. That's right.
Starting point is 00:39:18 Yeah, I haven't talked to Audie forever. I hope he's doing good. Sounds like he's good. He's been busy, but doing well. So yeah, it was a, it was a, a great Dragon Con. But I would say Carl and then a lot of Mandalorians and as always, there was one giant inflatable trogdor. I love seeing. But yeah, the Carls were just all over the place. And so many that they had to do, I think, two photos for the photo op. Oh, that's right. Amy said that.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Yeah. That's amazing. Because when you see those stair, like they did in the stairway, right, outside? Yeah. Yeah. When you see the one when they do the X-Men, it's like, all right, there are a, thousand people dressed up as different X-Men on this thing. But to think that, no, they had to split up into two different groups of those. Yeah, it's crazy, right? Wow. Absolutely. Can I make a quick side recommendation that's got nothing to do with anything, but you said
Starting point is 00:40:07 Trocdor and it made me want to, so I guess it does have to do with that. But I want to make a recommendation for a video game that I play right now. It's called Shadow Dungeon. Okay. It sounds like the cheesiest, dumbest name. I would like you to notice this header art is super cheeseball. Let me go to the store page, just so we. see it for real.
Starting point is 00:40:26 It is this single developer made it. They have boiled, he has boiled down the essence of Diablo action RPG loot grabbing games to the most barest of essences so that really it's just a dopamine feeder to your brain. Completely hooked on this thing.
Starting point is 00:40:45 And the reason I came up is because the art style is like, what if Troggdor made a video game? That's kind of it. It's all like stoner kid. at one point. Oh, was there? I don't remember.
Starting point is 00:40:56 Somebody made like a small, I think it was an 8-bit style. The guys that created trogd-door made a trogd-door game. Well, this thing is basically trogdegdor style. Your best friend in high school who was in trouble in detention, drawing us on his desk. Yeah. Just the cheesiest bullshit you've ever seen. And I'm absolutely loving it.
Starting point is 00:41:18 It's only, what, 9, 10 bucks? It's cheap. It's really fun. Nice. Big recommendation. High-rated. blah blah blah that looks all right
Starting point is 00:41:25 anyway sorry Travis back to the game so Scott takes round one round two Brian your movie with the wrong characters Bruce Wayne Dirk Pitt Leonidas and Natalia Simeonova must work together
Starting point is 00:41:39 to fight against a race of fire breathing creatures that have laid waste to England oh it's another another dragon movie and is that yeah let's see Let's see.
Starting point is 00:41:54 It's a fire, sky, fire, rain, rain, fire, rain. It's so close. It's right of, is it just rain of fire? Check. Correct. That is rain of fire. I love rain of fire. I do as well.
Starting point is 00:42:18 That was another one I saw in theaters and I was sad that it didn't do well. Yeah, it was so good. It still holds up. I just like the idea of pissed. fiercely like predatory dragons. No one ever does that anymore. They want to be all talking, going, oh, hey, I'm a dragon.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Yeah. Yeah, it was great, because the dragons are just animals. They just, and all they do is burn everything. Burn and eat. It's to create ash. Yeah, because they need the ash to survive. And McConaughey, with that wacky baldhead cap and the weird,
Starting point is 00:42:49 that's one of the weirdest things he's ever done. Everyone, so you always hear the term chewing the scenery. And the definition of that is Matthew McConaughey. on a hay and rain of fire. He is just, no scenery is safe. Yeah. It is amazing. That is a truth. All right, one, one going into round three, our musical round.
Starting point is 00:43:07 We're going to do the reversed songs again. I have way too much fun with these. Oh, great. Okay. So, and that was also a big hit at DragonCon. Yeah. Those were the days panel. I liked watching that panel. Yeah, that's great. Yeah, we did reversed TV themes, and I'm going to keep doing those because those were a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:43:25 Second only to, we had Amy Frost, record dramatic readings of TV-themed lyrics. Oh. And that might be my new favorite thing. It's so great. It's so much fun. Who could it be? Believe it or not, it's just me. Oh, I love that.
Starting point is 00:43:41 All right. So, Scott, you're going to start us. We have a, it's a best of five round. So, Scott, you get first, first crack at this first song. This is the reversed clip. Okay. Jeez. It's weird because it feels like it should be something about it sounds
Starting point is 00:44:10 like it should be recognizable, but I'm... Oh, I've got it, yeah. When it goes in reverse, it's always tougher. Can I get one more? Yeah, I'll give you one more. I'm getting James Taylor vibes, but this is, that's old. Not that you wouldn't do old, but what does this have to do with dragons, though?
Starting point is 00:44:43 So I'm worried about your theme. I got to quit worrying about your theme. Fire and Rain by James Taylor. Incorrect. Brian for the steel? I think it is old. I think it's Puff the Magic Dragon by Peter Paul and Mary. Of course it freaking is. It's the whole theme. I should have stayed in my brain with the theme. Dang it.
Starting point is 00:45:12 All right. So Brian steals the first of our best of five. Next song, Brian, you get the first crack at this one. Oh, geez. Well,
Starting point is 00:45:30 did you also speed it up? Believe it or not, no. Is that through the fire and flames by Dragon Force? Is the Dragon Force the name of the band? That is correct. Damn it.
Starting point is 00:45:48 That is through the fire and flames from Dragon Force. Freaking song section. Always gets me. I don't know. Looking back at it, you do pretty well in these, Scott. Yeah, you have in the past, yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:46:02 Number three, Scott, you get the first guess at this one. Here is your reversed song. Ooh, that's very familiar to me. All yours. There's something. super familiar about that. I could play it one more time. One more.
Starting point is 00:46:32 Oh, geez. Okay, well, I think I know the band. All right. I think that's, I think that's Megadeth. Okay. Was a big fan. Any idea on a song title?
Starting point is 00:46:50 Enter the dragon. Incorrect. Brian, any guess at all? Let's say it's the song why are you dragging this stuff through my ear holes by Megadeth. Also incorrect. It is not Megadeth. Here's a little forward clip for you.
Starting point is 00:47:17 That is Ronnie James D. Oh, Ronnie James Dio. Okay. All right. Good old Dio and killing the dragon. Weird. I should have listened to Dio yesterday when it suggested it because I had a YouTube music said, hey, maybe you might move for some Ronnie James Dio.
Starting point is 00:47:31 And I went, not really. I'm not really in the mood. I should have played it. You should always be in the mood for Ronnie James Dio. Yeah, I like him. He's great. All right, Brian. Okay.
Starting point is 00:47:42 Song four, this is yours to guess. I was waiting for this one. That is a queen and dragon attack. That is correct. That's what I was waiting for. We are going to tie this up this week. I don't even know that. I don't even know that song. And that's a Roger Taylor track. That's one that's all Roger Taylor and no Freddie Mercury.
Starting point is 00:48:13 Can you play the for just a piece, tiny piece? I can. Yes. I think. Nope, that's Freddie Mercury. It's Freddie Mercury, but a lot of drums, though. Yeah, a lot of. I don't know if I even know that song. That's an older one, right? It's from sheer heart attack. I think so, yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:39 That sounds right. I don't think I've ever heard it. That's a weird feeling to not hear a queen song. All right. Well, that means Brian wins our musical round because he was taking three. But I've got one more song, Scott. I want to see if you have any chance at this one or Brian. We'll see.
Starting point is 00:48:54 Scott, you get first guess. All right. Okay. I had to go tougher on that one. That's Imagine Dragons with look at this dragon, I imagine. and I think you're half right. Is that radioactive
Starting point is 00:49:16 by Imagine Dragons? Incorrect. That is this song. Dragon Queen by the Yay, Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, now I hear it. Yep. That drum had to kick in
Starting point is 00:49:32 on the right direction for me. Hot Space was the Queen album that had that. Wow. So later than I thought, that was after the game was Hot Space.
Starting point is 00:49:42 That was there. Oh, wow. Disco, like foray into a little bit of disco there, yeah, 80s. Weird. Yeah. It made it sound, I don't know, the song sounds older than it's time. It's a lot older, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:53 Before they make some bad choices like that. Anyway, whatever. You know what? Queen fared pretty well through that era. They did. Oh, they did. Everyone else who pivoted, I feel like, kind of sucked. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:50:05 They-hmm. The oceanal rescue by the Rolling Stones. Yeah. These guys somehow, they skirted that. I don't know how they did it. It's just called being. damn good. That's right. That's what it is. That's right. All right. Brian, you get to start our guess. This is round four. It's a movie.
Starting point is 00:50:21 I'm going to give you characters from the movie. And you're going to guess. So I have five characters. What's your bid? How many do you think you need? I'm going to go three because I know that still gives Scott a very good chance with two, but I'm going to do it anyway. So I'm going to say three. All right. Scott, do you want to try for two? I will try two. I've got to do something. Okay. Scott, you get two characters. Okay. There you go.
Starting point is 00:50:48 Will Graham, Francis Dollar Hyde. Characters? Characters. I know the name Will Graham. Mm-hmm. Once again, those are Will Graham and Francis Dollar Hyde. And there are characters in the movie we're looking for. Correct.
Starting point is 00:51:10 Not some like, oh, these are opposite bullshit of other things. All right? It's just these are the guys. These are the guys. These are the guys. I think I'm confusing. ladies. Because there's a detective series with a guy named Will Graham in it.
Starting point is 00:51:24 Oh, and I got it. We just saw it for Film Sack. It's, um, um, well, well, or it's either that. That is a dollar, a dollar hide, right? And I'm not going to say the movie, but the question is, which one is you, are you doing? And, um, the question is, it could go either way. one of them has a dragon in the name though I would go with that one then
Starting point is 00:51:55 all right I'm going with the it's not what is it Enter the dragon not not oh uh the Ray finds one red dragon red dragon red dragon that is correct red dragon
Starting point is 00:52:10 red dragon oh the third character by the way would have been Jack Crawford and then obviously oh Crawford might help me Yeah. Hannibal Lecter and Dr. Chilton.
Starting point is 00:52:21 God. Yeah. Just watch that. And Dollarhead's like, yeah, that's super familiar. But, yeah, it's the last action hero dude. Yeah. Notice you didn't say Hannibal Lecter. That would have been weird.
Starting point is 00:52:33 But yeah. Well, he said he would have said that fourth. Yeah. So guy from last action hero that you're thinking of, Tom, is Tom Noon. That's in Manhunter. Yeah. Not Red Dragon. Oh, that's right.
Starting point is 00:52:47 Yes. Francis Dollar Hyde is played by Wright Fines. That's right. That's right. Okay. I like both movies. I think I like Manhunter more. There's something about the 80s Michael Mann.
Starting point is 00:52:59 The Michael manness of it, yeah. I mean, it definitely was made at a time where they didn't know the Hannibal Lecter character was going to be the breakout star of the series moving forward. They didn't know that. And so there's something kind of understated about the Brian Cox performance. I really like it. I don't think I've seen Red Dragon in years. it's good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:20 It's, it is still very good. It's a little like piece for piece remakey in a bunch of ways, which is kind of weird. Like, when movies do that, I don't always hate it. It's just like you kind of have to ask why they did it because if it's going to be that close. But then again, I don't want them changing a bunch of story stuff. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:37 But by then they had Anthony Hopkins, so why not use them, you know? Even though it's supposed to take place before Silence of the Lambs. And Anthony Hopkins looks like he's 15 years older than when he made Silence of the Lambs. the lamb. Yeah, and he was close to that. It was a big stretch of time, I think. Well, not that long. So maybe six years or something, right?
Starting point is 00:53:55 No, it was over 10 years. Oh, was it? That movie was early to mid-2000s. Silence was 19-90. 90. 90, okay. Damn. That's a long-ass time ago now.
Starting point is 00:54:10 It is. All right. We are 2-2 going into round five. All right. Scott, you get to start our round. And the movie, with cast members. How many cast members do you think you need?
Starting point is 00:54:22 I've got five to start. How many do you think you need? I think I need two. Two. There you go. Playing the game. I've got to be more defensive. I'll take one.
Starting point is 00:54:36 One? All right. Brian, here's your one cast member from this movie. Daniel Craig. They've gone through all of those. There's no dragon in the title of any of those. Let's say,
Starting point is 00:54:57 how to train your dragon. How to train your dragon. Yeah. Scott, you get one more. I think I know, but go ahead and give you one more. So we had Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara. Oh, yeah. So it's a girl with a dragon tattoo.
Starting point is 00:55:11 Yep. That is correct. I figured that was, I knew it was, when you said Daniel Craig, I went, he's not no dragon. And then my brain went dragon tattoo, dude. It's a play on words we got going here. All up to here, you've been having real dragons do shit. And then suddenly in the last two, it's like, no.
Starting point is 00:55:27 metaphorical dragons that's right there be dragons yeah I was really bummed they never continued that the American version of the trilogy oh yeah they didn't did they they had Fincher do the one and then that was it
Starting point is 00:55:42 great Rezner and Atticus Ross's soundtrack to it and yeah I could have gone for more yeah it's always tricky because the the original movie trilogy is really good too it is really good it's hard to compete with the the Swedish, Norwegian?
Starting point is 00:55:59 Swedes, I think. Scandinavian. Stiglarsen. Yeah, we'll say Scandinavian. Yeah, that's safe. That encompasses enough area. You won't get it wrong that way. Or not work a, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:09 So yeah, obviously this month's theme was dragons coming back from DragonCon. It's been on my mind. Oh, yeah. I didn't even think about the Dragon Con connection. I also wrote this last week, the day I got, as I was coming back from Dragon Con. That's funny. Because we were talking about Dragon Con and everything. everything in this, and it never occurred to either of us?
Starting point is 00:56:28 Never made that connection. Because, again, I don't think of Dragon Con with dragons, even though it's, you know, that start was Dungeons and Dragons and the Pace of the Hilton. All you think of is the Marriott Carpet. Yes. Yes. I did see an amazing photo of some guys in Marriott
Starting point is 00:56:45 carpet camo, like snipers laying down on the carpet. Oh, I like that. Because there is a small stretch of the carpet left in the Marriott. You just have to go. Oh, is there really? Okay. It's like in a back hallway behind the desk because some people
Starting point is 00:56:59 got photos back there they were like yeah if you asked the front desk really nicely they'll take you back there you think they did that
Starting point is 00:57:04 on purpose like kept to strip I have to think so like yeah because that is iconic at this point I mean
Starting point is 00:57:09 there are so many so many bits of memorabilia and costumes with the I saw somebody with a Marriott
Starting point is 00:57:17 carpet Mandalorian armor yeah that's awesome there's a lot of them so I was going to ask you
Starting point is 00:57:24 something about the con what was it Can't remember. It was something about the thing. Did you walk around, do the Dragon Con After Dark at all? Go ahead and check out the weirder costumes after 9, 10 p.m. I mean, a little bit. I did a couple of late-night panels, so we actually had two panels that were 21 and up,
Starting point is 00:57:44 and I got asked to work the door, so I got to go back to my days as a bouncer at a bar. Oh, nice. You know, you used to do that. You'd be intimidating. I did that many, many, many years ago. As long as he didn't have to talk to them because that would blow the whole thing. It's like, all right, sir, I'm going to have to ask you to leave.
Starting point is 00:58:02 Actually, the best night of doing that I ever had was on Halloween. I came in costume, and I had a Jason Vorey's hockey mask on. And I worked the door the whole night without saying a word. I would just gesture to people. They'd give me their ID. And the staff, like the waitresses, had no idea who I was for the night. I love it. I'd be like, did anyone come in?
Starting point is 00:58:24 because I'd be afraid that to be like scare off every customer. Oh, so many people loved that costume. And I did, I stayed silent the whole night. You still have it? You still have the hockey mask and stuff? I don't. I don't know what happened to it. And I actually, I had like a long, dark-haired wig that I wore.
Starting point is 00:58:40 So I wasn't Jason. I was his cousin, Justin. Oh, Justin Voorhees. Yeah. But I had coveralls. And so I was a mixture of Michael Myers and Jason Voories. It was a lot of fun. I love that.
Starting point is 00:58:52 But I did, I did. I did that, and then we had a botched podcast does their blood feud every year, and I was part of that, and we won, again, Team Nomad. Nice. We dressed as Devo. Oh, nice. Oh, cool, with the red stairstep hats or the new traditionalists or? The red stairstep energy domes.
Starting point is 00:59:13 We all kind of 3D printed them in yellow jumpsuits, and we wrote Nomad on our jumpsuits instead of Devo. Excellent. And we won last minute, thanks to Stephen Adams. and the last answer to give. It was universal monsters. We needed the Invisible Man. He got that. We won.
Starting point is 00:59:31 And I brought home the championship. Nice. Well done. Well done, nice. Nicely done. That was a lot of fun. I still have the mother's ball action figure,
Starting point is 00:59:39 but I lost his little hat. They came with hats. I don't know where that. Well, that I could 3D print for you. Yeah, that's true. That's true. What did I get out a little thing? Give you the measurements of the head.
Starting point is 00:59:48 And then we just make a hat. Yeah, give me the, yeah, give me the, if you have some clay, I do. Push the top of his head down into the clay, take a picture of it, and then put a ruler right by the size.
Starting point is 01:00:00 So I know the shape that the head needs to be and the scale. And the scale, exactly. Banana for scale. I'll do that. That's awesome. Banana for scale. Maybe we'll do that.
Starting point is 01:00:13 Perfect. Look at him. I'm going to go on to make a bunch of movie themes. Bye. They're good, too. They are really good. His scores are awesome. Take me back in time.
Starting point is 01:00:22 Debo and Oingo Boing. Yeah, right? You go back to that era and if you tried to convince me, these two singers are going to go on to be these, like, mega successful film scores or even do that with Resner. I wouldn't believe you. Yeah. No, not at all.
Starting point is 01:00:36 He just wants me to F him like an animal or whatever. Or he wants to F me like one. Right. Yeah, it's the other way around. There you go. Yeah. No, DragonCon is so much fun. I got to meet Justin Robert Young in person for the first time.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Oh, I didn't know you went to DragonCon. That's cool. Yep, he was there. So I met him and Ashley. I can't believe you guys haven't met in person before. That's wild. He said the exact same thing. He's like, we never met in person, but they stopped going to DragonCon before I started going.
Starting point is 01:01:02 And so it just, we were always in like similar orbits. And they stopped coming to TMS, Vegas and Nurtacular before you started coming. Yeah, exactly. But I had a Diamond Club flask, so I got Brian and Justin to autograph that for me, which was fun. Nice. Cool. I got to get them. It was a ton of fun.
Starting point is 01:01:20 I talked about Project Alf for weight you haven't seen. which if you haven't seen that and you like Alf at all, you should watch it. It was the made-for-TV movie that came out six years after the show was canceled. Is it an origin story? No, it's a follow-up. So it takes place after the series. Dunaway loves this thing. I do too.
Starting point is 01:01:41 I have a great affinity for it. And my guess, none of them had seen it. And one of them had never seen anything Alf-related whatsoever. I'm still getting messages from them saying, Elf quota for the day is at three. I mean, listen to this, Brian. You got McGill Ferrer, Michael, or sorry, Martin Sheen,
Starting point is 01:01:59 Ed Bagley Jr., Ray Walston. This is in the Project Elf thing? Yeah. Yep. They all had, they all-star cast, man. No kidding. I like that you get Ray Walston.
Starting point is 01:02:09 I don't think the dad, Ed Bagley Jr.'s in this. I don't even think the dad's in this, the guy that from the Alf show. Oh, Alf, would you please stop eating the cat? There's a very good reason for that. Max Wright at that time especially hated Alf and working on that show. The cast hated working on it because it was just a nightmare.
Starting point is 01:02:30 Well, he was the whole set was built four feet off the ground to allow for the puppets. Yeah, and he didn't like it too because he came from this like really traditionalist like stage space. And he just hated that his whole career was wrapped up with this puppet show. He hated that. Yeah, apparently he softened on that over the years and didn't feel. vehemently hate it as much, but because he, you know, he got, he got recognized for it. Yeah. But, yeah, no.
Starting point is 01:02:57 So they wrote the family out there just like, yeah, they live in Iceland now in witness protection. Wow. I would too. I get the F away from that family. But it is 100% a TV movie. So if you do, but if you liked Alf, it's worth watching. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 01:03:14 You've convinced me. And that's all I hated. And it has one of the best dad jokes ever that actually, uh, one. friend and former A&P alum drew some trivia, or not trivia, but he won an audience award for using an elf joke. Oh, really?
Starting point is 01:03:32 Yeah. Wow. So that was a lot of fun. All right. Well, there you have it. So where are we at now? Did we tie today? What did we do?
Starting point is 01:03:38 6-4 now. 6-4, Scott, in the lead. Take out a sticky note. We got lit. Look. I won on September 15. I am going to do it. I'm doing it.
Starting point is 01:03:49 Take it to your wall. Right now. I'm doing it right now. This piece, this thing is going up on the thing. Bam. Here's the question. Why did I feel that way? Is it because the music thing always flummoxes me?
Starting point is 01:04:01 And then I get it okay in movies. That's what happened. It's really the only place where I feel like I've got a little bit of an advantage. Rocked me on those. All right. Well, I'll take it. And I'll remember next month when we see you again, Travis. You will.
Starting point is 01:04:14 And, yeah, we're almost at the very end. So, Brian, you've got a chance. You're not mathematically eliminated yet. But I've got to do really well these last three months. You do. You do. Are you, you got some cool stuff coming up on shows and stuff you want to tell people about before we let you go?
Starting point is 01:04:29 I do. So October is coming up and that is always the crossover I do with the other hosts of Gore for what you haven't seen. We do all spooky movies for the month and just more fun episodes of what you haven't seen. Hammond is the best and he is getting me hooked up with some new guests. So I'm working on those. God, he's got such great connection. connections. He does. It's also not afraid
Starting point is 01:04:51 to reach out and talk to. No, he really is. Exactly. Freak out everybody else, but not him. Not him. He's not afraid. Yeah. And we started Daily Sports Headlines. Last week, we're about a week into that. I'm doing three days a week, usually recording
Starting point is 01:05:05 with Hammond. So that is another one that people should check out if you're into sports at all. It's just a daily five-minute roundup, just like daily music headlines. Nice. But sports. It's a good time, too. We've got the NFL back. Yep. You know? Everybody's... Yeah, we timed it out to start with the
Starting point is 01:05:19 beginning of the NFL season. Yeah, I like that stuff. Perfect timing. Travis, have a fantastic week, month, year, but we'll see you again. All right? Hello there. Goodbye there. Hello there. How come your thing won't quit? There it is. All right, he's out. Hey, everybody. Guess what? We're almost out of time. But I am going to read one email. Okay. Let's do the one from, let's do this one where the guys just pissed. Okay, number one. Yes. Anonymous listener. He sent this in. It's funny because I'd seen this,
Starting point is 01:05:52 I'd see news about this a couple of days ago and was like super impressed. I was like, that's awesome. What a cool thing to do. And then I get this out of the blue. Guy says simply this. He says,
Starting point is 01:06:00 Christian Bale just helped open a foster village with homes for foster kids so siblings can stay together instead of being separated. But I'll bet you guys will just talk about how he yelled at some guy 17 years ago. Like, that's all that defines him. Dude, you didn't have to go so hard on that part. Thanks for just jump into the conclusion, man. Geez.
Starting point is 01:06:22 No, look, it comes up sometimes because it's fun to go, oh, good for you. And it's like a joke. Yeah, it's a funny. Right, exactly. But, I mean, I think you and I both think about them more for Bain. We think about them more for Terminator Salvation. We think about them more for other things. The gore and the, well, you haven't seen the most recent Thor movie.
Starting point is 01:06:42 But you need to. You meant Batman, right? You said Bain. You meant, I meant, yeah, Tom Hardy was Bain. I meant Batman. But yeah, we think of him more for that stuff, but you do need to see Love and Thunder before Doomsday, because that will be directly referenced in Doomsday.
Starting point is 01:07:00 Definitely on the list. But I like him as an actor in general. I love the machinist. I love his mainstream stuff. I like his off-the-wall stuff. Yeah, he's great. I look for when I see he's in a thing, I get excited. So I'm not sure where he has this idea that we have condemned him to
Starting point is 01:07:16 yelling at a dude 17 years ago jail. But we haven't. I still use it as part of my guest, the connection, time to put in your answer clip. But I'm never going to take that out. These are memes. They exist for a reason. Exactly. And he knows Christian Bill's fine.
Starting point is 01:07:33 He's fine. Yeah, we're always going to think of sad Kianu. Keuna Reeves, eating a sandwich on a park bench. Yeah. Right. Right. And nobody says, oh, have you seen John Wick? Or do you guys still think he's the sad guy on the bench?
Starting point is 01:07:47 Like, come on. A few things can be true at once, Anonymous. And one of those things is you got this one wrong. All right, we'll save these other for tomorrow. Speaking of which, that will be a Wednesday, which means Tom Merritt and all the fun Wednesday stuff. So check that out. In the meantime, check out the website, frogpants.com slash TMS.
