We're recording live from inside the Coastomacian Gym. The Strength Coat Costa Mesa. If you're not watching on YouTube, you're an idiot, like I always say. Because if you were watching on YouTube, you know I was in the gym. Between two plate trees, we got plate updates to talk about.
Starting point is 00:02:34 We talked about that a lot last week, but every day, you know, it's a moving target. One day, you're in the berm, in the berm, and the next day, you know, You're an expert shooter. Iron sights back when trash sticks came in Iron sights. In any event, I'm recording live Coast of Mesa, California, joining me from the road
Starting point is 00:02:56 in probably a truck. Three, don't let me forget. I got some new truck talk to talk about. But Robert Trey Gottlitch the third. He's done his whole life by Trey, and now he is known as the Chow Radar King. The Chow Radar King is mobile.
Starting point is 00:03:15 I don't know that I can pick a city to say that he's at, but I'm going to guess. Where's he passing through? He's passing through. Odessa. Odessa. Oh. It's the best part of the song.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Come in when you want to. Come in when you want. There's Glenn cable on a guitar. He don't play around. Come on in when you want to. Mr. Tregaard, Robert Traga, that's the third. That's all I'm to say for me.

Starting point is 00:04:08 Are you rolling? You ready? So it's one, two, one. Come in when you want to. I love that. We've always said that. Are we rolling? Are we rolling?
Starting point is 00:04:23 I need that shirt. You've definitely going to talk about Wayland Jennings tonight. Also join us in studio. Back, not in the drilling status. Been gone for three weeks. Feels like three years. Oh, that Cajun Sergeant Major leave. Yeah, he's been on that Cajun Sergeant Major leave.
Starting point is 00:04:39 Mr. Jeff Bougier, Buege, Biggie, from Salt Lake City, Greater Salt Lake City area. And come in when you're, when you're going to be. want to. Trey left. I'm leaving when I want to. Go ahead, leave when you want to. So good.
Starting point is 00:05:00 You can't see him. Yeah, he just disappears. I thought you got run over by Waylon to go to Whalen Jennings for mocking him. Come in when you want to. Whalen just grabbed him out of the car with Hank Sr. taking him for a ride. Jeff Biggie, great to have you back.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Good to be back. Yeah, it's been a while. It said we were in the we were in the desert we're wandering through the valley. You were in the desert yes literally we were in the desert spiritually and figuratively but we've wandered through we've reached the promised land episode one one five we got a lot to catch up with you about I don't know what's going to happen to tray but I have a feeling this is going to be a long staff brief if I had to guess we have I've had the three alpha running the brief.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Oh, goodness. And the three alpha has been expediting the briefs, much to my demise. The young captain. Yeah, those young whippersnappers, company grades. They don't know how to do it. They don't understand. And so with that, I'm going to turn it over to Trash Six for opening comments. Ooh, love a good evening.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Good evening, uh, trash battalion. It's, it's good to see everyone back in the room, warm bodies around one table. one team, one fight, one mission, trash. It's been a while we've been disaggregated, and that's what we're a decentralized command. We got a unity of command, but we've been decentralized. I've been in the field. Trash Five was back here holding down the fort.
Starting point is 00:06:35 We did find that the one put himself in the field on the numbers and actually has been AWOL for two weeks, so his butt is mine when he comes back. But I just want to refocus us. We're a trash. We're a trash battalion. Always have been. Always will be.
Starting point is 00:06:54 And anytime you want to come into my office, talk to me, been away a long time. I'll say what I've always said. Come in when you won't. Three, three, take it away. Oh, by the way, by the way, I just want to say three, why you've been gone. I don't know if you met the Gullo Sergeant Major. The Gulles Sergeant Major, they got rid of our second Cajun Sergeant Major. Oh, you got a Cajun.
Starting point is 00:07:17 Sir? Yeah, they said there was too much Cajun and one battalion. So we got a gullo sergeant major. He's been cooking up Frogmore stew for the crew. And yeah, he didn't give away no leave like the Cajun Sergeant Major. But he's dueling Sergeant Major, it's brought a tear to trash sticks his eye. But anyway, three, take it away. Hey, thank you, sir.
Starting point is 00:07:38 Appreciate. Appreciate. Great, great guidance and wisdom there. Passed down to all of us from your command philosophy and your commander's guidance. and your intent. We now fully understand your intent for the trash battalion. It's a commander's intent. We're going to go forth and execute in the fog of war.
Starting point is 00:07:57 We'll be able to execute because we have your commander's intent. All right, kicking it over to S-1. Let's talk about the numbers. Are they bumping? This is Trash 5. As the boss said, the S-1 is absent without leave. Oh, good. We're about to move into a deser status.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Okay, okay. I could let Lance Corporal Shoemaker speak right now. but I think that would just confuse people. The numbers are bump, but we do need you guys to look at your DTS. We just finished a long exercise. There's a lot of travel claims, AT audits that need to be done. So get with your local one shops, not the battalion one shops. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:33 I appreciate three. That's it from trash five. Hey, thank you, brother. Thanks. No problem. Thanks, brother. Yeah. Hey, brother.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Yeah. I was on leave. We were brewing up some IPAs in the garage. You need to come over. We need to kick back a few IPAs, brother. Yeah, brother. Brother, that'd be great. Yeah, I got a new, I got a new special whiskey.
Starting point is 00:08:51 I need to try. I got some Gullah cigars from the Gala Sergeant Major. Yeah, brother, I'd love to come over. Oh, brother. Sounds good. Yeah. Let me check with that Kitchen Six, brother. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Yeah. Always got to do that, brother. Yeah. She approves all leave requests, right? Am I right? Hey, brother, it's great to have you back. Yeah. Good to be back, brother.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Yeah. You know, you know, it's different about, real, real quick, sir, if I could just tell a quick joke. You know what the difference is between coming home to your wife, versus coming home to your dog. Your dog's happy to see it when you come home. Oh, brother. That's hilarious, brother.
Starting point is 00:09:26 That's a good one. Thanks, brother. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. All right, moving on. S2, we got any Intel updates as the Strait of Hormo was open. I heard at one point maybe it was open, but now maybe it's closed. I just need to know the latest and greatest on that.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Good afternoon. Sir, sergeant's major, commanders, staff. My name is Staff Sergeant Miller. And I just picked up my rocker last week. I'm kind of nervous right now. But the straight remains close, nothing further for the group. Okay, okay This is
Starting point is 00:10:20 This is a You need to say that with your chest next time there Staff Sergeant Go ahead and stack up there a little bit Okay, okay, that's it Hey, Caj and Sergeant Major This is the gun a sergeant major And I just got to say
Starting point is 00:10:35 We got a gun Come on you want to A lot of these infantry men I'd be talking about the Talking of the guns But we've been talking to gumbo and I couldn't agree with you more, Staff Sergeant. Say it with your chest.
Starting point is 00:10:54 It's closed, gentlemen. Nothing for the other group. Okay, I'd say it sounds like maybe you'll need to get offline with our sergeant's major, do some knee-to-k counseling, mentorship. You know, we got two great servant leaders as our senior staff NCOs. I think they're going to take good care of your staffs. I teach you the right and wrong of what a staff-en-seo is. We call that pot to pot gumbo to gumbo.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Excuse me. Excuse me. Yeah, the Gucci gumbo. We get that Gucci gumbo down where I'm from Cajun Sergeant Major. All right. Great. Thank you. Appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Appreciate that Sergeant's Major. Excellent senior staff and CO wisdom and guidance there first hand. No done problems. Okay. Yeah. And the privilege. All right, moving out. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:45 So for ops. Yeah, we'll touch on this. maybe we'll dive into this a little more, but I just want to say I was part of one of the premier trash exercises that the Marine Corps has to offer out in 29 Palms. ITX, I think it's an integrated trash exercise, if I remember the correct acronym. But just want to bring some new TTPs. Okay, we're going to have seven different trash cans in all of our hooches, all of our spaces here in the battalion office. Okay, you have seven different trash cans for you're going to have paper, you're going to have metal, you're going to have plastic, you're going to have cardboard, you're going to have just regular paper, okay? So that's five. Hey, sir, this is, this done be the color sergeant major. Y'all ain't going to take my dumpster, is you?
Starting point is 00:12:39 No, no, if anything, we're going to be adding more dumpsters, okay, more dumpsters, more dumpsters, more trash cans or shit cans. as we may refer to them as colloquially. Did that mean that they don't come with a shit? I was raised in Methodist, A.M.E. Church, I can't say to SHIT. But did they come with SHIT can line us to? Oh, absolutely, absolutely. And Lance Corporals will be changing those every hour on the hour. And then also doing visual inspections at the bottom.
Starting point is 00:13:11 They'll be on the top of the hour. And then at the bottom of the hour, it will also come by and do just visual inspections to make sure that the trash is sorted properly. Okay. So it's top of the hour. Trash will be collected. Bottom of the hour. There will be a sorting inspection conducted by our trash sergeant.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Hey, three. This is trash five. What about at balls? At balls. Oh, hey, love it. Love it. That's when we'll have duty changeover for the trash sergeant.
Starting point is 00:13:42 It's a 12-hour shift. These are all just new TTPs I'm bringing back, you know, the latest and greatest, you know, the most up-to-date tactics. You only mentioned the five trash cans and you said it was seven. Yeah, yeah, seven. One of those is for crawfish, little mudburn. Okay, then we may have to make a specific battalion SOP as far as there may be an eighth trash can. They may have to get added. We just actually got a new regimental SOP.
Starting point is 00:14:13 pushed down from trash division. I got to get some of the lieutenants to put it into a PowerPoint so that us feel greats can understand it. It came in as a Mar-Admonds. I don't read Mar-Admin's. I look at PowerPoint slides. So we take all the information, put it into PowerPoint. We'll have it next week.
Starting point is 00:14:30 Excellent. Hey, thanks, brother. Appreciate that. No problem, brother. Yeah, no problem, brother. Okay, but then the last two trash cans are going to be for aluminum cans and then expended MRE heaters. That's the most important one. Okay, yeah, that's the latest and greatest we got.
Starting point is 00:14:46 So now we're going to have eight different trash cans. Sergeant Major, you bring up a great point about the crawfish dunnage, as we'll refer to it as. Thank you, sir. No, thank you. Thank you for your guidance and your mentorship as a senior staff, NCO, with all that experience and knowledge that you have of the institution. And passing that on to all of us. Absolutely. So go on take another week leave.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Thank you for that. Oh, I appreciate that. Cajas, our major. Hey, this is the good, the Gullah, Sajum Major. I give out 72s if you need a 72 come on by, try some shrimp Creole. That sounds fantastic.
Starting point is 00:15:27 I think maybe once this brief concludes, maybe I'll bring you one of those IPAs, too, that I brewed up on leave there, Sergeant Major. You're talking to you. Golla, Sergeant Major. Tray-oh. Oh, the loom of cans.
Starting point is 00:15:41 Yeah. Get at a trash six for me. I ain't even know what done like the IPAs. We give that to the office of times. Okay, okay. Good to go. Well, yeah, I was, you know, a stationed to pedaling for a while. You know, really got into IPAs, got really, really into IPAs there. Oh, hey, trash five here.
Starting point is 00:15:58 I was going to say keep sidebars to a minimum. Brother, any time you would talk about IPAs, just let me know. Yeah, brother, brother. Okay, okay, okay, okay. That's a pretty gay. Oh, that's what I hear. I don't know about that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Okay. Okay. Okay. That concludes, uh, the three's, brief here. I'm going to, I'll kick it over to the four shop to talk logistics. Hey, this trash sticks. I just want to say three great, great job out there in the field. We know, uh, we know that you probably got a little red butt, you know, getting kicked around. And, uh, but you're out there doing the, doing the Lord's work. And, uh, we appreciate what you do.
Starting point is 00:16:30 It's good to have you back with team. Nice, sir. Out. Did Sean back? Okay. S4. You're, uh, next up on the, on the chopping block here. That's you, Dre. Yes, sir. S4 here.
Starting point is 00:16:54 If we could, gentlemen, let's keep those sidebars to a minimum. Okay. Looking at you, sergeant's major. Future five right there. You know, just trying to gun for you. Doing my best. As for, let me see, dumpsters. As a brief last week, I believe they are all online.
Starting point is 00:17:16 phase mode coming out about three years outside of that sir nothing really for the group that's probably all i got great brief great brief wow okay um anyone else from the the the four types any supply reps here anybody from dental or medical all right going once i'm going to assume they're all just on leave it seems like we just you know there's really no way to track this leave that the kajun sergeant major hands out. So we just kind of assume if you're not here, you're probably, you're probably executing that leave. Three, three, this is the four. And I'm taking this from my phone. I've actually on leave as well. Yeah, that's correct. We are all on leave. That's okay. Okay. Okay. Thank you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Hey, stress six, well deserved four. You enjoy it. Thank you, sir. I appreciate that. You going to Ohio by chance? sorry you don't driving all night trying to make it to Toledo all roads all roads all roads lead to through Toledo yeah all right just wearing my adorable hat that I believe we're all wearing and heading that way you know a lot of people a lot of people they wonder why I always bring it back to
Starting point is 00:18:36 Toledo and why why our logo is a a tea with a little man on it And it's a mud hen. And I didn't steal it from Toledo mudhands. It's the T's for Trash Battalion. And sometimes you got to get muddy. Sometimes you got to get muddy, keeping the battalion clean. Raw.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Ro, go mudheds. Yes, sir. Okay. All right. Thanks. A, four shop, great work. Enjoy that I leave. But go ahead and stay on the call and definitely be actively listening.
Starting point is 00:19:11 And, you know, we may have more questions at the end. So definitely, definitely don't just tune out. and put your mic on mute and go back to sitting by the pool or whatever you're doing or driving to Toledo. All right, S6. S6, what do we got from our com types? That's you, Drey. Sir, S6 here. Coms are good.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Record jackets are bad. It's going to go ahead and start all over on those record jackets. You know, it says we just threw them away. They're trash. So I have a high standard of record jackets and I want to hold my boys up to this. that and then it's not been meeting it i will uh get back with you on that next week hopefully we have something some good news report on that hey great work great work hey this is uh grant i'm just a fly in the wall of the on the staff brief and i've always kind of wondered oh civilian yeah i've always kind
Starting point is 00:20:08 of wondered if anyone knows what the record jackets mean um so i'm just going to give you a quick uh we're going to have a sidebar uh will you allow a trash bar uh oh yeah yeah explained record records Every piece of equipment in the Marine Corps has a serial number that is read by some poor devil dog every month to some poor boot lieutenant who then highlights it on printed paper. And when you do said serial number reading, and we could be talking M-4s, we could be talking grenade launchers, we could be talking Harris-Rathearts, we could be talking Harris-Rate. radio. We could be talking a truck. We could be talking the turret that goes on the truck. We could be talking the generator that goes on the trailer or the trailer itself or the donkey dick that belongs with the generator, but not with the trailer. And there is a red six-part folder. I'm pretty sure, Dunder Mufflin, Mifflin, Dunder, whatever. Those guys probably started making them in the 30s. and it's red and it's a two-hole punch at the top and it has a prong and there's an there's a what's that first sheet called a TM sheet or the not technical manual um uh the anyway there's a sheet the opening sheet says what the item is and there's you know a national
Starting point is 00:21:37 stock number and the Marine Corps likes to update that sheet about every nine months so every time you have the record jacket correct they put a new thing in there and then you go through the six parts and the bane of existence for lieutenants in the Marine Corps is managing and organizing red six part folders. I bring that up because there's definitely not these things called like computers, where we track everything. And they are, but they need their own record jackets. They does have record jackets.
Starting point is 00:22:13 They do. They do. And you can't put the computer's record jacket on a computer. make no sense, obviously. No, why would you do that? Yeah. Anyway, sidebar over, record jackets, back over. Grant, just going to go back to being a fly of the wall.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Hey, appreciate that. Random civilian that does happen to be at our conference room or our team's call. Not really sure. Hey, S6, go ahead and check on our security. We had an interloper in here. I don't know what happened with that. No, that's for sure, an interloper.
Starting point is 00:22:46 He's been booted. Don't worry about it. Okay, okay, great, great. Definitely still here. Oh, nope, sounds like you're still here. It's still on the line. Sir, I've come to realize he's in charge the call. Wait, how did, okay, well, it wouldn't meet,
Starting point is 00:23:02 it wouldn't meet the commander's intent for us to not have the brief. So we're going to go ahead and continue to have the brief. And then we'll address this offline. Push, push, push. Uh, push. I, sir, I, sir. Okay. We talked six.
Starting point is 00:23:16 A five, brother, you got anything? you got anything. Hey, PFT season's coming to a close. Super 5. Combat arms, the trash battians, the combat arms,
Starting point is 00:23:27 Italians. You haven't done your PFT. You got to get your PFT. You got to get 210 now under New Sec War. It's second class. So that's, if you're not first class, your last.
Starting point is 00:23:38 So, you know, get a first class PFT. I'll be running mine tomorrow on Delmar, all downhill. We're all down to do. Yeah, baby. Come in when you want to.
Starting point is 00:23:51 Come out when you want to. Come out when you want to. Yeah, besides that, I'm a trusted assistant in APES. A, trust the assistant. Send it my way. Don't be using AI and keep velvet daggers to a minimum. Nothing else, brother.
Starting point is 00:24:09 All right. Thanks, brother. Appreciate that. No problem, brother. I am cautious to say this, but anything from our, Our sergeant's major, any closing remarks for the brief before to go to our outline stations. Hey there, hey there, sir, this is an sergeant, nothing really for the group.
Starting point is 00:24:30 Just, you know, I see one too many moustaches this week. Go ahead and shape that trash off. That's all I really have, change the size. Hey, this don't be the gulla, Sergeant Major. And I got to say a little something that I learn down, down where I are from. And that is, if it's allowed by God, then it should be done by man. And in the court, the same thing done be coming up. We got a rule that says you can have a freaking dagon mustache, and it just needs to be policed.
Starting point is 00:25:03 So I'm not with the Caj and Sergeant Major. So if the Caj of Major says you to go on and done shade that mustache, you come out of the office, I'm going to measure it. And if you within the standards, I'm going to give you some. tripping grits I see we're playing a little bit of good cop, bad cop here and I'm coming down on these boys hard. You better give them a mustache. Yeah, you say you don't be coming down high, then you give them out a weakly leave. Here's the deal.
Starting point is 00:25:32 You're going to get a free weekend leave from the kids and sergeant major. And you come to my office, if your mustache is out of regs, I'm going to take that leave from you. I'm going to give it to an officer because officers never done to have mustache. And that's what we call a compromise. I appreciate you, Cajun's Sajun-in-Side Major. Yes, sir. Don't call me, sir. I don't work for a living.
Starting point is 00:25:56 No, no, no, you do work for a living. Go ahead, gentlemen. Wow, great, great stuff there. Maybe you have a mustache, maybe don't, maybe get some trooper grits, maybe get a week of leave. The choice is yours. We'll go to about. I'll say, this is Trash Five.
Starting point is 00:26:13 I've been on our friends on the other Microsoft teams known as the Massonomics Discord. And I've been talking about some stuff over there. And they're just using emojis to everything I say and type in gumbo. And then they're like, hey, is there a free leave from the Cajun Sergeant Major? And so, Mom, I know you think this portion of the brief is stupid or of the podcast. You told me that on Father's Day. She's not wrong. But mom, this is what keeps the people coming back.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Anyway, I digress. Outlying stations, do you want me to pull them up? Yeah, you want to pull them up? Got them up. We got him up. We got John Kay, also known as Goat Carts. He's a 50-cow challenge guy. Oh, simplified. Colorado checking in, baseball-sized hail today.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Not like anything we'd see in Toledo, but I get it. High winds, severe storms, no helicopter support possible, all secure in sector 7. We also have Hare's ear fly fishing. It says, got to catch you up soon. Nice. That's our boy, John Connitz, down there in the upstate of South Carolina. We're going to go fishing in waters greater than the ones in New Zealand. Look up, Hare's ear fly fishing.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Or if you just want to see cool Instagram fishing videos, he's a good follow, potential sponsor. He also, it's a largemouth bass season in South Carolina. So it's right up, uh, Tresses alley right now. That's correct. We got, um, chaplain. So chaplain, congrats to the chaplain. Chaplain is now officially a girl dad. Hey, he, uh, enters an elite group of girl dads.
Starting point is 00:27:58 He's been a boy dad, uh, third time award winner, uh, or gold, two gold stars in lieu of third award. Oh, okay. Now I'm tracking. Now I'm tracking how many kids. This is his first, uh, girl. nam so we pinned that metal upon his chest uh went to the hospital and his pink strength coat tea there's a light pink which is like hey i'm kind of feeling eastery and then there's
Starting point is 00:28:24 like a not a hot pink but i want everyone to know i'm wearing pink pink and he rocked that one as became a girl dad which is great um and the chaplain says this thank you for reaching out i'm currently on paternity leave will not be checking emails if you have an emergency please reach out of the Cajun Sergeant Major. If not, I will respond as soon as I return. I call upon you, for you will answer me, oh God, incline your ear to me. Hear my words, wondrously show your steadfast love, oh, savior of those who seek refuge from their adversaries at your right hand. Psalm 1767 ESV. Nathan Eckberg, Chaplin, Trash Battalion. I won't docks his number, but he does have full email signature. Wow. Wow. Really embracing the
Starting point is 00:29:10 This was a last minute brief, if you will, trash six walked into my office, 22 minutes before the brief and said to do the brief. So we got the word out to the outlying station is a little late. Just remember if it's Monday, then the OK podcast happens the next day. So you can reply to us any time, even if we forget to solicit. We actually prefer that internal discipline inside of you. You shouldn't need your leaders to tell you what to do. You shouldn't have to be reminded to shave. You shouldn't have to be reminded to put a belt through your belt loopholes on your trousers.
Starting point is 00:29:52 Those are things you should just do every day. So just, you know, if it's Monday, say something to the OK podcast. Save rounds, Alba. I'd say that's pretty good to go. I said it's pretty good to go. I had a feeling, Trey, it was going to be a long brief. Great brief. this podcast we've been water in the desert we've even wanted in the desert for the last two weeks
Starting point is 00:30:17 three three he missed three that's uh well i feel like we found our way at least one of those times but at least two out of three we're not good yeah well yeah we get a guest for one of them adam yale uh jim member yeah good guy better at chili um this podcast is brought to you by bw tass It's June. Starting point is 00:31:43 We didn't have continuous 114 episodes. But people ask me, is Mr. Helmut a real sponsor? Yeah. He literally keeps the lights on. He's a real guy. You can get helmets like Tray does. Trey is big on the border mission. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:31:58 He follows it day and night. So big on it. He's got ice helmets. He's got Border Patrol helmets. He's got Build the Wall helmets. He's got Cups. custom, Texas A&M for a more secure border helmets. But the point is, Mr. Helmick can do anything you want.
Starting point is 00:32:17 He can give you a helmet that says, gig him. He can give you a helmet that says, fight, farmers fight. I don't know why anyone would say that, but there are people in this country that do. So go check out the link in the show notes to Green Gridiron. And this football season approaches, maybe you're a boomer sooner. You're happy that your college football team won the baseball national championship and you're fired up for football season. Go get yourself an OU helmet.
Starting point is 00:32:41 Oh, yeah. Yeah. Hey, that's good stuff. The lights are on, verified. So, yeah, the sponsors are in the walkway. Did you catch up? Did you catch up on the podcast that you missed? I need to, I need to listen to them still.
Starting point is 00:32:56 This is the gullas, I think the more direct answer will be a freaking dang no. I still need those to them. I was going to listen to him on the, on the butt, or least one of them, or two of them probably on the bus back from 29 Palms to Seal Beach, but I fell asleep immediately, basically. Oh, that's weird. Yeah, I know. After like a 16-day exercise in the desert, you were tired? I was, I was a little bit tired, yes.
Starting point is 00:33:21 A little bit fatigued. Yeah, yeah. Well, it's your show, but we could start there if you want. I mean, yeah, in case. I got something to get off your chest. The listeners thought I got excommunicated or something like that. No, I was doing my annual training for the reserves, so for this go-around. active duty we just call it training exactly exactly but we just you know just one weekend a month two
Starting point is 00:33:42 weeks a year no big deal it's so easy yeah um but no we were on tap for integrated training exercise or ITX as they call it um so we were out in 29 palms i think a little over 16 days of training and so you're running around in the desert it's very very hot uh and yeah you're out there shooting It's a great place to shoot artillery. Oh, I've always said that. Two things every artilleryman wants to do. Shoot, do an ITX in 29 palms, and do a 31st Mew, get the full experience of just shooting in the desert
Starting point is 00:34:19 and then taking cannons abroad. But yeah, so it was quite the experience, very, very taxing and fatiguing, very stressful at times, very, but honestly, like the battery did great, We did a little rough start at the beginning, but then kind of got back on track and I think we shot really well. And then the best thing about ITX for those that aren't familiar with it is like usually, at least for us, you know, we're on camp pendulum shooting and it's pretty restrictive in terms of like how much you can spread out the battery, like where you can shoot, like what types of missions you can shoot.
Starting point is 00:35:00 But with ITX, since you're out in the middle of nowhere in the desert, it's all open space. you're out there you can do all sorts of stuff and really kind of do the things that you want to do as artillerymen and then for like kind of like the culminating event you actually have like the infantry out there you know closing on the fires that you're you're putting on target so it's pretty cool you know most of them it's always just like a simulated type thing but in this case you know you're actually like you know i'm going to talk to the weapons company commander for 1 24 and talk through their scheme of maneuver with the company commanders and we're coming up with the plan and then executing it as best we can and you know the enemy always has a vote so change on the fly so there's a little more problem solving and then things like that but overall it's really really good time how to how did 124 do on the breach
Starting point is 00:35:48 um they do a breach in the delta t no i think because it's a little it's a little it's a little different with the reserve reserve IT's very condensed uh yeah so like there wasn't like a breach, at least that I'm aware of, that, um, and so they didn't, they didn't, yeah, that might have been a, I know it's like a big thing on like range 400 that they did is the breach. Yeah. Don't forget about 410 alpha. 410 alpha.
Starting point is 00:36:17 Ooh, that's where infantry leaders cut their teeth. Uh, but yeah. How many guns do you have? Uh, we had four. And we were, yeah, we were six and one across the board. And so we have like comm Marines that we have on each gun. and then at one point we had some law enforcement Marines out there with us
Starting point is 00:36:37 so everybody was getting a chance to ram and hump some rounds and stuff like that. So we were making everybody work. It was good. Did you pull some lanyards? I did not. I did not. No, but I'm actually anti-commanders pulling lanyards and that is
Starting point is 00:36:53 a me thing. I don't think it's like bad. I just I read this investigation from years ago, not that many years ago, five or six. And the the CEO is down there, humping rounds under the gun, which I, like, love.
Starting point is 00:37:07 Like, I've definitely spent a lot of time doing that. But then there was an issue. And then it's like anytime there's an issue, where was the commander? It's like he was loading one-five rounds. And usually it's like, you know, a battalion commander, a regimental commander comes in.
Starting point is 00:37:22 They're like, oh, look at this, you know, the battery commander down there, like sweating with the boys. Yeah. But when there's an issue, it's like, well, why were you there? Yeah. So, yeah, I, I've pulled some land.
Starting point is 00:37:33 in my day, but I, a lot of times towards the end there, guys are like, sir, come pull the lantern. I'm like, nope. I feel like, I don't know. I'm, I'm superstitious about that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I heard some... I'm just a little stitious. Yeah, superstitious. And so, come in when you want to. Come in when you want, too. But it was good. I think, like, my, like, favorite memory from the whole thing was, so it was during the fire support execution exercise or, fire support coordination exercise or Fiskex, baby. We're shooting one of the night portions, right?
Starting point is 00:38:09 They have like two hour windows where it's like they get air, they get live aircraft on station and you have all the infantry, you have the infantry fire support team up on the hill with the artillery guys and mortars guys and they're calling in missions. And from the position that we were at, we could, you could kind of see the impacts, but you can see definitely like the explosions kind of light up the horizon. And then there's like the mortar.
Starting point is 00:38:33 that are going off artillery's going off you've got rotary wing coming in shooting rockets and guns and just like standing outside the net it's like me my first sergeant battery gunny exo guns platoon commander and then like you know just behind us is our fdo and ops chief that are in the fdc making it all happen and i was just like took that all in and i was like man being in the battery is is the best it's it's a great time yeah yeah it really is because you get to like touch the hill and you hear everything and yeah it's it's uh i remember brian peggram lieutenant colonel type now uh former battalion commander i don't know where he's moving on he'll be in o six i don't know if you remember this jeff you probably do but when we were at fort's hill
Starting point is 00:39:18 in school with him he's like there's nothing like being an fdo like have a zero six t-o and you just like set it all up everything's ready and you pour a cuff of coffee inside your FDC and you walk out of the basics and you're looking at your watch and you're all hacked up and it's four hotel going down range and seven ton mirrors are cracking and the guns are shooting and you're just like yep I'm an artilleryman yeah yeah so it's good stuff brings a tear to my eyes good stuff train you wouldn't really understand it's before but it's pretty fun being Yeah. That hurts on a bunch of different levels.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Wow. Yeah. That is tough. You're actually, you're actually correct. I do not understand. But man. Kidding. Let's see. Other things. How long were in the field? 12 days? Oh, gosh. When do we get to, we got the 29 Palms on is it Saturday or the 31st?
Starting point is 00:40:31 And we left on the morning of the fifth. Did you go to the RSO? No, the 15th. What do we? Oh, no, I did not go to the RSO course. I was like, well, I'm not going to be an RSO or OIC. Oh, there's, or like the Snake and Dudd or whatever. Snake and Dudd.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Love the snake and dud. But yeah, let's see, one of the days, it was quite eventful, or it was quite hard on my body. I got my hand shut in a trunk of our Humvee. driver and I were trying to close it. Thankfully, like, I was like, my hand was on top of my pack, so that kind of like
Starting point is 00:41:09 softened the blow a little bit. But like, he slammed it pretty good. He felt real bad about it. Sure, it was all right. I was like, no, you're good, man. No, worry about it. Yeah, Niplock. And then I'm over there.
Starting point is 00:41:23 Page 11. Sitting outside the FDC, you know, may or may not be smoking a few camel blues. And then the winds gets whipped up in 29 palms as it likes to do in a tent pole or a net pole like just cracks me right across the shin real good and then later that night have to do a we're like I'm doing a link up with uh 124's weapons company commander to talk through the skem maneuver for the next morning and then like I'm ground guiding the humve yet we're doing blackout because we're like we're we're fucking be we're being tactical yeah and I just gotta be just eat a cactus right to the knee. It was great. It was quite the day.
Starting point is 00:42:04 It was quite the day. It's a young man's game. Oh, yes, it is. Tell you what, ITX last year. I never showed it, but it's a different vibe when you're 24 versus 38. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, I had, again, had my annual tradition of my birthday at AT. So it's good.
Starting point is 00:42:27 Oh, yeah. The gun spiltoons guys. Got like a little like MRI pound cake thing and put a cigarette in it for the candle. Oh, no, that's cute. Happy birthday. It was fun. It was fun. Well, sounds like good training.
Starting point is 00:42:41 It was great training. It was great training. Learned a lot about trash. That was the best part. It took a lot. Yeah, a lot of great notes. A lot of good stuff about trash. That was the big thing.
Starting point is 00:42:49 It's the main effort. Sweet. Let me save rounds on that. A.T. Your rounds complete. Happy birthday, buddy. Oh, thank you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:58 Thank you. Happy birthday. Yeah. Yeah. definitely a young man's game ITX. Yeah. Which one was this one? This is 3-9?
Starting point is 00:43:05 It was 4-0. I feel it. Hey, man. You don't look it. Don't look it. You got the hair. You got the hair of a 24-year-old. Hey.
Starting point is 00:43:18 Yeah. A lot more grades. You know, a lot more grays over this last year, I'd say. But you're almost done then. Changing Command next month. Yeah. You got July 18th, 18th, I think. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Nacho passing the guide on. I miss it. Yeah. It's going to be sad. But. Yeah. It's how it goes. You,
Starting point is 00:43:36 uh, becomes like a part of your identity. Oh, yeah. Like, uh, yeah. I don't think you.
Starting point is 00:43:45 Uh, at least I don't, I mean, you know it's really important, but you don't realize that going in. Like, uh, it's,
Starting point is 00:43:50 I mean, it's like a child. Uh, and it's way more people than one child. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Yeah. Yeah, it's command is command, as Nolan Hickey likes to say. But it's, it'll take, it'll take years off your life. Yeah, it makes a big impact on you. That's for sure. Yeah, that's for sure. Yeah. Well, good.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Congrats. Job well done. Yeah, got job well done. Hey, thanks. Thanks. Appreciate it. We have the watch. Well, all right.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Speaking of, should we start to show? Well, yeah, let's get the show started. That's what I was going to say. That's what I was going to say. Let's start the show, yeah. Well, do we want to start more like, we got some music topics. We got some chow topics. We got some sports topics.
Starting point is 00:44:36 We got some more like we got Father's Day. Do we want to talk Father's Day for our two dads on here? Well, usually when we start to show, Trey gives us a lifting update. Oh, excuse me, excuse me. Hey, gentlemen, gentlemen, as you were, as you were. hey, Trey, you got any lifting updates for us? Not more of the same, man. It's still been pretty consistent.
Starting point is 00:45:05 Hold on. Pulling up to the side here. I've incorporated it, you know, I'm like, man, I need to get my cardio going again. So I've incorporated some more, I've incorporated some, like, hit exercises in there, kind of sprinkle them in. I'm like, I feel like I'm doing good on the strength category. I just need to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without passing out. But yeah, so, you know, pretty consistent, I would say.
Starting point is 00:45:40 All right. And consistency is king. That's, you know, that's kind of the main thing, man. You got to keep the main thing, the main thing. And consistency is the main thing. That's right. Just do something. my new philosophy so so i'm there to nothing i've been doing a little cardio uh post um
Starting point is 00:46:05 whatever virus i had that shrank testicles or whatever that thing was we talked about um i forgot about that until right now uh yeah it is funny cardio is like do something's correct Cardio is just funny because it's it's you don't do it for a while then you go to do it and you're like I'm terrible at this then you do it like four times over and you're like oh not good not good I'm like it comes back improved yeah I've improved yeah I've improved yeah drastically since that session kicked it off yeah yeah all right no lifting questions tray was your oh none posted i don't think i no i didn't no i didn't write any down this week no secret no secret lifting oh you got your mud hen hat on oh there he is oh he's beautiful i told you man yeah let me uh look at the camera real quick there we go i got all the mud hidden hats all right sweet uh let's see if i got any lifting do go ahead no i just know put got it uh i got i got a i got a drafts. That was about the only thing new.
Starting point is 00:47:12 Ooh, boy. Nice. You like them? The necktie ones? No, they're not necktie. Unfortunately, Strength Coe did not, it's not powered by Strength Co. Oh, we're going to have to edit this out. Yeah. Go ahead. Jordy Duncan, cross the street. Have you ever heard of these?
Starting point is 00:47:34 Yeah, is it the ones that are like like you look like a superhero? Yeah. And so, you know, they're okay. They're good for some things. They're good dumbbells. So, but outside, like, I tried for deadlift, and I just, like, immediately dropped them
Starting point is 00:47:51 and went back to the Strengthsco leather ones. So, yeah. They're going to bring you. They're okay. Yeah. All right. Okay. You got any questions?
Starting point is 00:48:04 Yeah. You know, if you got tax questions, you call BW. That's right. Lifting questions called Grant. If you have questions about being a father of three girls under three, you call Trey. Yeah, that's who I would call. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:18 How was Father's Day? It was good, man. It went to church and we did. I was teaching class that day, but in between class and service, we had donuts for dad, which is a pretty good time. So I was giving me a hard time. Yeah, he had a lot. I was giving to Abby Ryan
Starting point is 00:48:43 because like she goes she had a ton of boxes that she ordered for Amazon right it's the opt for Amazon trash drones I was sitting there breaking
Starting point is 00:48:57 them down there's so many of them she goes hey doing your phone and I go no I don't want it and she's like there's this way you do it on father
Starting point is 00:49:06 just like no I think you'll appreciate it and I'm like okay I'm like what is it and it was this like saw made to cut up hard-haired box. What a great gift.
Starting point is 00:49:20 And I go, so you just got me something to make it easier to throw your trash way. And she goes, yeah. And I go, oh, okay. And so then I started it, I was like, been a hard time. Oh, I guess, this thing's pretty sick. Actually. We need big bucks in a small.
Starting point is 00:49:38 We need a video. We need a video of that. That's a real. We need like a two-minute Trey Gottlitz review of whatever that is. Yeah. For the YouTube channel. Definitely five stars.
Starting point is 00:49:51 If you, if Amazon is constantly on your front doorstep, it's a must. You have to have this thing. I love it. So if you're married, then Amazon is constantly on your front door set. Yeah, verified. Correct. Correct.
Starting point is 00:50:05 Yeah. Dang. Daggum. I like, I like that. That's a good gift. That's good good. Go man when you love to. Kitchen six, great work.
Starting point is 00:50:16 You're getting good gifts? Yeah, I did. We also went to church. There was not donuts for dad. At my church, we just call it Sundays. There's always donuts every Sunday right after the service. Like during the transition, there's donuts. I actually don't get them, but I usually get a little cup of donut.
Starting point is 00:50:35 Aren't they called donut holes, which doesn't make sense? A little like little balls. Yeah. because they fit in the holes. Anyway, I always keep some of those, Isabella, but yeah,
Starting point is 00:50:46 no, we did that, and then we went to barbecue, which we could talk now or we can talk later. Oh, yeah. Talked out.
Starting point is 00:50:52 Yeah, that's hear about his chow. I saw some pictures of it. Yeah, he saw some pictures. So we, we, a little chow talk,
Starting point is 00:50:59 but a while since we've, like, really talked chow. Oh, I love Chow. Chow Radar's been taken off. The interest list is crazy. It's absolutely insane.
Starting point is 00:51:09 Go to WW, to do with the okay podcast.com, click Chow Radar, give us your email. We don't know what we're going to do with your email, but we're going to take your email and do something with it. I'm a farmer. I'm a farmer of emails. You know, some people are fissures of men. I'm a farmer of emails. But we are in beta right now on Chow Radar. Chow Radar is real. If you go to the OK podcast and put in your email, you can go to the site. Trey's been beating up the state of Texas. I am disappointed with my submissions. I think I have three now.
Starting point is 00:51:46 I have a pokey spot in Okinawa, a sandwich spot in California, and a cheese curd spot that serves Cajun cheese curds in Wisconsin. So I have not put in as much work as I want to, but I got a new goal. Come in when you want to. That is to do one spot a day. We'll come back to Chow Radar because I'm not sure I understand Trey's philosophy in child radar yet. But in any event, when I leave church, I think everyone that's married will 100% relate
Starting point is 00:52:18 with this conversation. You wake up on a Sunday morning if you're a church going type and you take your family to church. And that's an event in of itself. That is a heroic effort, just getting your family to church. And getting to church without sinning, you know, getting to church like in a good mindset. You get to church, you drop the kid off. Hopefully she stays or in Trey's case, all of them stay.
Starting point is 00:52:42 You go to service, church in, people talk to you after church. And then you're like encroaching on nap time, but you're also like in the crux of probably hungry wife time. And if I had a piece of marital advice for people with wives, I learned this from BW tax. Not even kidding. BW told me this. He said, well, 90% of all your problems will be fixed by feeding your wife. And so I found that to be true. When things are going to muck, they just need to eat.
Starting point is 00:53:20 So there's always this part where you get in the car and you say, hey, babe, where are you want to eat? And then there's a 15-minute conversation where you're driving to nowhere because you don't know what you want to eat. And so I thought about it. this was premeditated chow i just said i'm getting in the car sunday and i'm just going to say we're going to harper barbecue and it's a barbecue spot in costa mesa and it's the one day that it's just going to be non-negotiable and we're just going to go so into harper barbecue it's uh about a
Starting point is 00:53:51 less than a mile from where i'm sitting right now at the coast mesa gym um they started as a Harper Pit Works making smokers, Texas style, off-heat, side-by-side smokers. And then they decided to open up a restaurant. The city of Coastomace, California was unincorporated until 1953. And before 1953, it was known as Harper, California. And so they took that old school name. So they're already like preaching to the choir. They're lacing in some history to me.
Starting point is 00:54:26 They're pushing all my stuff. And so I decided, hey, we're going to go there. We go there. There's a line. Not terrible. They opened at 11. We got there about 1130. And, man, I was impressed.
Starting point is 00:54:41 I wouldn't say it was the best barbecue I've ever had. In the past, I have really dumped on California barbecue. There's a place called Heritage in San Juan Capistrano, Texas guys, a big fan of spending an entire paycheck there to eat. eat. But no, no, it's really good. It's really good. Did I take you there, Trey? No. Okay, I didn't take you there. Anyway, it's really good. And so this place is kind of similar aesthetic. Layout was good. Line made sense. Lots of places to sit down and eat. Some of these high-end barbecue places, it's like you're standing forever waiting to eat and then you get your food and you can't find a place to eat. But overall, I was really impressed
Starting point is 00:55:24 with the layout and the process, and they didn't serve brisket. And they're not trying to be something that they are not. So they got tri-tip. It's kind of like their number one thing, which I appreciate. They're Californians like Ronald Reagan, California. This is a tri-tip state. So tri-tips, a big deal. They got pulled pork when she did a good job on.
Starting point is 00:55:50 They have a coleslaw. I like a simple coleslaw. I don't like when you try to like church up coleslaw like coleslaw. They had a great coleslaw. I got the beef cheek, which I'm not sure I've had before. I've definitely had beef cheek like in Mexican dishes. I don't think I've had beef cheek cooked like a brisket. And that's what they did.
Starting point is 00:56:16 So it looked like a little mini brisket, you know, completely black charred. in the cheek of a cow, there's a ton of collagen in it because it's used so much. So it's very muscular. But when you slow cook it, all that breaks down and it becomes very moist. But what it doesn't become, because there's not fat in the cheek, is very fatty like brisket, which is my problem with brisket is it's, I don't dislike brisket. It's just never my first choice. It's too fatty for me.
Starting point is 00:56:50 So anyway, I had the beef cheek, had the pork ribs. I've cooked better pork ribs. They were good, but I've done better. And they had some stuff I didn't try, which was interesting, was like some sandwiches you could order, try tip type, pulled pork type. They had a bunch of stuff. We went with, like, the barbecue platter. I sent you the photo tray. It said it made you cry.
Starting point is 00:57:12 But the sides were good. All the sides were like local California produce. Yeah, no, it was good. It was, it was. Was there a tortilla there? There was not. I'm a big fan with tortillas and barbecue, though. I'm a big fan with tortillas.
Starting point is 00:57:23 That's my new thing now, man. Yeah. I've never done that. Never, never been to a spot-in-hound. So, you know, you mentioned I didn't know it was the thing, Trey, and the sidebar conversation that we had prior to the show. And then I started thinking about it. And I don't know that I've gone to, like, so this place called it Harper Barbecue,
Starting point is 00:57:44 barbecue, Cali-style. And I generally hate when people say Cali, but I thought it was like, I thought it actually did a good job because they weren't pretending to be Lockhart, right? They were like we're going to cook and try tip. Obviously every good barbecue joint should be able to like cook good chicken. Beef cheek was kind of a thing. You gave a solid score.
Starting point is 00:58:03 I gave a salt score. No, I thought it was really good for the state of California. Yeah. And just in general. Lost my train of thought. You said sides. Sides were pretty good. Sides were good. Yeah, sides were good. I was gone somewhere else that doesn't matter. But yeah, no, it was good.
Starting point is 00:58:23 Oh, tortillas. So I started thinking about tortillas. And I'm like, oh, I've had tortillas with barbecue. But I don't think I've ever had it at like a white people barbecue place. I've had it at Mexican barbecue places. So it's like they basically, they do pull pork, pulled pork. They call it carnitas. And I'm not talking tacos.
Starting point is 00:58:41 I'm talking like you get a big hunk of meat and tortillas and salsa are on the side. And so, yeah, I've had a lot of, I've. I've had a lot of tortillas with slow cooked meat. I'll put it that way. And I think it's like a must. Like I prefer that. This place had banging jalapeno cornbread and really good rolls. But I'd actually would prefer prefer like a warm tortilla with it.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Yeah. What they crushed out of the park, they stole it from my state, the best barbecue state in the Union, South Carolina, also the best barbecue state in the Confederacy versus the seed. They had Cali Gold, which was kind of funny, ripping off Carolina gold. Yeah. And then they had something they called mop sauce, which is what they call it in the Carolinas. I give it to both. I'll succeed this to North Carolina right now, which is the vinegar-based sauce. So they had a regular mop sauce and a fire mop sauce. And it was good. It was good. Yeah, it was good. Yeah, it was good. If you're in, you know, if you're looking for a vacation, come to the Strength Co, work out, buy a whole month's membership, just for one workout. That does me a favor of a small business. buy a year, a year member. Yeah, year long.
Starting point is 00:59:50 And then go and buy the year membership now. Yeah. And then plan your trip later and you know the membership's locked in, check. Right. Peace of mind. Yeah, then get your butt over to Harper Barbecue. Yeah, it was good. I'm a fan, potential sponsor.
Starting point is 01:00:06 I hope we get that sponsorship. It looks solid. Yeah, it was good. I thought it was brisket. So, yeah, I don't think I've ever had, what did you say? It was cheek? Beef cheek. I've definitely had beef cheek in Mexican-style tacos.
Starting point is 01:00:18 I've never had it cook like that. And I actually ate the leftovers today before I came over here to coach prior to to coming to the gym. I had the leftover beef cheek and it was good. You know what else I liked about it? The two to four person platter was $99. Okay. And now, if you got 50 eggs versions of ourselves, wouldn't be enough. But if you have current versions of ourselves, hey, I'm 40, you know, I'm 38.
Starting point is 01:00:48 I'm trying to do cardio kind of. a deal. Like, insert either of you and your wife and then me and my wife or both of you and your two wives. The two to four person platter would actually feed four people, like four grown adults for $99. That's a great deal. Yeah, because I mean, a lot of these good barbecue places, I love them, but it's like,
Starting point is 01:01:13 you want brisket? It's 24, 95 a pound. Yeah. It's like, cool, let me get a half a pound. Not possible. you have to get a pound. You want sausage? It's, and it's like, so then you're like, well, I want to try five items.
Starting point is 01:01:25 And then you're like, $180. And you're like, and actually like I'm still kind of hungry. So the money to chow ratio was a good ratio. That's a key ratio right there. Especially the money to chow to flavor to experience. That's what we call the quad. Yeah. It's called the quad.
Starting point is 01:01:44 The strength ratio. You know, we've always called it that, never not called it that. I've always said that. Oh, yeah. We talk about that constantly. Yeah, the quad ratio. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:52 Really, it's taken, it's taken chow, money, flavor, and experience per capita. Yes. Yeah, that's how you get to quat. That's how you always got to weigh it against per capita. So you can really understand what you're looking at. What was it? What did you give it? 4.2?
Starting point is 01:02:08 Did that make that out? I think I gave it 4.6. Oh, 4.6 Chows? That's a good. And we got to talk about that. And I'm not even. I was trying to explain to Abby. Numbers?
Starting point is 01:02:23 Go ahead. I was trying to explain to Abby, like, the rating system. Yeah, numbers. Like how numbers work. I was trying to explain to the rating system. I go, hey, what would you? I go, would you write this one to five? And I was explaining, she's like, oh, it would be a five.
Starting point is 01:02:38 I'm like, okay, so it's the best food in the world. Ever. You've ever. There's nothing. There are no fives, okay? There are no fives. I'm like, no. But yeah, I say,
Starting point is 01:02:50 let's we can talk it i'd be curious to get chel's thought on this and i can justify my oCD of organizing these restaurants on chow radar too i mean go ahead the floor is yours okay so what what's your i guess not a gripe what's your question that you have for me of like why i'm doing it the way i'm doing it should we give some back so we're going to know how he's doing it yeah so he's got multiple lists on chow radar He has Texas Tex-Mex. He has Texas barbecue. He has Texas hamburger. Yeah, Texas Bigger Woods.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Texas is just American. And here's my defense of this. I'll go back to your story. You got out of church. And the question he usually asks Diana is what? Where do you want to eat? What are you in the mood for? What are you in the mood for?
Starting point is 01:03:51 Yeah. And so I want to look at this list. Burgers. And I go, okay, here's my burger list. That's the thought process of organizing it like that. Is yes, it is maybe a little bit over the top, but it's just mainly for me, less. See, your thought process is for your family.
Starting point is 01:04:13 My thought process is future Chow Radar members that are behind a K-Wall. So my thought process is revenue. No, my thought, ideal to revenue. My thought is, and this is where I actually don't know if we ever rate bad places. But my thought is if someone tells me, hey, I'm going to Wisconsin, like a South Carolinian, right? Like someone that's never been in the Midwest. And I say, oh, you're going to Wisconsin? I go out there once a year.
Starting point is 01:04:50 here's my food list. Where are you going? And they name random city. Appleton. And I say, here's my Wisconsin list. And I have 35 spots peppered throughout the state. And then they go in and look and whether it's pizza, supper clubs, burgers, cheese curds, they look and they see all these places.
Starting point is 01:05:14 And then when they see like a super high rating, maybe they're like, hey, I'm in Appleton. but this is Wisconsin. There's like 10 people here and they're all in bars, so there's never any traffic. I'm actually going to drive 30 minutes to Slinger and eat this burger that Grant raved about. So my thought is more of like sending people that are going, like if I had Strenko members going to the Lift Hard Live Easy classic in Aberdeen,
Starting point is 01:05:41 I'd like to send my Aberdeen list, right? If I have a marine reservist that gets stationed at Fort Dix, And I say, hey, bro, are you flying into Newark or are you flying into Philly? And he's like, I'm flying into Newark. I send them my New Jersey list, right? And then they can see it. Yeah. But I think all child is.
Starting point is 01:06:04 And then my style. Yeah. But I mean, I see the argument for, I see the argument for yours. But I think that's why some people will care about grants lists and some people will care about Trays list and then no one will care about Jeff's list because it doesn't exist. It does not exist. It's behind the third paywall. There's another paywall. There's another paywall.
Starting point is 01:06:29 When Jeff put something on there, you know it's like for real. Like I have too much stuff on there. No, I like. No, I don't think you have too much stuff in there. Go ahead, Jeff. Tray's never leaving Texas. So he needs to break you like, he can't just do a Texas list. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:06:44 He needs to break it down into subgenres. He's never leaving Texas. I did. Which is fine. It's a big state. There's a lot of chow there. There's a good chow there. We've all been to this place.
Starting point is 01:06:55 We've all been to Mears in Lott and Oklahoma. That's true. Do you put that on? Mears is on there. It's under Oklahoma Burger. Yeah. If you go to that list. It's the only one.
Starting point is 01:07:06 It's the only one under Oklahoma Burger. Hey. It's the only burger you need to get. I think, Trey, you should have your Texas list. subcategorized because 97% of your life will be spent in Texas. Correct. But then your other list, you should have an Oklahoma. You're a traveling businessman.
Starting point is 01:07:31 And if the city's big enough, you have a Oklahoma City list, right? Okay. You do whatever you want. You're the brains behind Chow Radar. You started Chow Radar. I mean, is there a way just like, I set it off. Or like the restaurants or like the places get tagged and it's like, okay, it's tagged Texas.
Starting point is 01:07:54 It's tagged burger. I go in. Oh, excuse me. Excuse me. Yeah. I'm not in on the ground. You know. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:03 We're in beta. Oh, very well. Very well. Beta. Yeah. Right now the goal is just. I'm actually. I'm actually.
Starting point is 01:08:11 My next goal is actually to build out Okinawa. Oh, that's a good one. because the only thing I had to do there for fun was eat. That's a good one, too. And I'm like, how cool to be, yeah, if your buddy is hitting the 31st Mew and you're just like, hey, brother, these are all the spots I enjoyed in Okinawa. Put this in your smart pack. We should just try to try to get that from Yelp.
Starting point is 01:08:36 Yeah, okay. 31st, 31st M powered by Chow Radar is what it should be. And then we need a, we're probably a 31st Mue list. Yes, is this a summer float or a. winter float. Are you going to Australia or are you anything going to send you to send you to sent com and you're just going to stay there. You're going to go to the Strait of Hormuz because I got some good chow and Hormuz. It's close.
Starting point is 01:08:59 Close. Yeah. Good chow talk. Oh, man. But what was he going to say? Yeah, there is a couple of overlaps there. There's mirrors and there's L&J Cafe. I know Grant's been there.
Starting point is 01:09:11 I know. I got to do both. Yeah, I turned you on L&J. It's true. Oh, dude. That's by far. I told you in the description. It's what I rate.
Starting point is 01:09:20 This is what I rate for all Mexican food. TextMex. And you rated at 4.88? It's like 4.8. Yeah, it's like the best one. TextMex is not Mexican food, but I understand what you mean. That's good. Ellen, Jay.
Starting point is 01:09:36 It's good, chow. Yeah, I'm just saying for the Mexican listeners. Yeah. One, Buenos Nochez, 2. two, and three. Oh,
Starting point is 01:09:48 Trace. Asta mania. That's, yeah, uno, dos and trace. Okay, for the miscal. Yeah, good shout to talk. Hey, great shout talk.
Starting point is 01:10:01 Chow, Chow Radar. Be on the lookout for it. Go visit. I need to get in there, start adding some chow establishments. Yeah. Oh, man.
Starting point is 01:10:12 Oh, man. Let's get a, I want to hear the plate update. I'm actually very curious for the plate update. Well, if you'd listen the last week's podcast, you'd have an idea. Oh. Give me the executive
Starting point is 01:10:24 summary. Yeah, let me give you that's a plate story. Let me give you a thousand foot for you. The Strength Co. America 250 plate is coming. And it is coming soon. The Strength Co. America 250 plate will be
Starting point is 01:10:40 a 45 pound commemorative plate. It'll have on the left side an American flag underneath the 45 on the right side it says America 250 underneath the 45 both 45s will be upright if you will so usually you have upright strength co an upside down strength co and corresponding 45 since the plate rotates on the bar one sides up and one sides down as we messed with the lettering and looked at the way it looked decided to make it So if you take a photo of this plate, there will be like an upright and an upside down version.
Starting point is 01:11:21 In that, we're definitely going to color the American flag. The American flag is colorized. There will be no stars. It's kind of like a subdued military flag. So the upper left will just be blue. And then you'll have the red and white stripes, white stripes working in whenever you can. And then on the right side where it says America 250, we're still kind of deciding. We're still getting some pricing and some quotes.
Starting point is 01:11:45 voting, but there's potential that the America is written in white and the 250 is written in gold. So anything that's additional to the standard plate is going to like really pop. And that's the idea. We played around in Wisconsin with doing like a red, white, and blue version of the plate with a double powder coat. I like to explain like a bowling ball. I'm a bowling guy where you, you do one color and then you do another color and then you do a
Starting point is 01:12:14 third color and there's kind of like some not glitter but it's actually called fracturing where like one coating fractures the other coating so it has like a sparkle to it and I didn't love it and I also thought there was something about if you already owned a bunch of strength coat plates and you have the beautiful black eco which is a feature not a bug and then you add in this additional color. Now it kind of looks mixed matched. I think we're going to do some colors in the future. You'll have an opportunity to get like sets of colors. But in the meantime, this is going to be another blacky could have plate. And then the lettering of the things that I mentioned will be colorized. And they're inside the face. And we've got a deep lip. So they won't, they won't.
Starting point is 01:13:02 If you put a 45, you know, on another 45, the colored part's actually not going to come into contact with the plate. So it should hold up nice. We, boy. The two, the two, is going to be done the week of the fourth. I'm hoping to get a real photo prior to, but on the 4th of July, I'm going to release 100 pairs to early bird listeners. We already have over 300 people that have said, I want this plate.
Starting point is 01:13:30 I can't remember it's three or five. I know that's a huge difference, but there's a lot of numbers in my head right now. But there's a lot of people. It's definitely over 300 interested. We're going to release 100 as a pre-sale, and then it's going to be a Veterans Day release. we buy it the 4th of July.
Starting point is 01:13:44 It's going to ship Veterans Day. And then Veterans Day, it'll go to the mass public. It'll be a big push prior to Black Friday. This plate will not be available on Black Friday. And this is a legitimate limited run, meaning America 250 is this year. Probably not going to do America 251 plate. So why not? Yeah, it'll be a time in history that you got the plate.
Starting point is 01:14:08 But yeah, it's all coming together. Cool. working on the custom boxing and packaging that's going to be cool. So yeah, if you want that, go to www. www.orgat the okaypodcast.com, click America 250 plate. There'll be a special site for it on the Strengthco's store. Probably not when you're listening to this episode, but very shortly after. But we are going to blast our listeners first.
Starting point is 01:14:38 And I don't say that. for marketing reasons, I say like if you go to the OK podcast website and give us your email, you are literally hearing first. And we will tell you probably before the 4th of July, as soon as the site's up and it's open for purchase and you're going to have an opportunity to make sure that you get it. And then the 4th of July will probably send to our entire database of emails for people for an opportunity to buy it. And then on the 5th of July, sales are going to be turned off. and then you're basically going to be able to go in and say, hey, I want this plate again.
Starting point is 01:15:14 And then it is going to go for sale Veterans Day weekend. And that's it. It's going to go Veterans Day weekend until we're sold out. And we're making a substantial quantity that I think we'll have enough for everybody. But the goal is to sell this thing out. And then it's done. So, yeah, if you're interested in that, check it out. been tweeting about it showing some designs.
Starting point is 01:15:39 Yeah, it's kind of like biscuit. I mean, that was great about it. I got the beef cheek at Harper Barbecue. And I sat down with my table and they came out and they put beef cheek sold out. And I'm like, I got mine. Dang. You got the last one? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:57 Well, mixed more. I would say on a side bar. Yeah, that's played up day. So my t-shirt came in. Two-fit t-shirt looks pretty slick, man. Hey. turned out nice those went well um we made the first run every year we make a fourth of july t-shirt i say every year but i think it's six years running now and usually when you know fourth of july comes and
Starting point is 01:16:23 goes there's i don't know a dozen 18 shirts left and i look at you know people have spent a lot of money in the store or you know maybe a family member or there's an extra small i send it to a nephew whatever the case is, and I just shipped those out. Every single one sold. And we did a bigger run than we've ever done. Every single one sold. So I did a second run. And I literally think there's like three of those left.
Starting point is 01:16:50 Dang. Like those all sold. So yeah, it's a good shirt. It's a good shirt. If you're on the second run, if you bought in the last five to seven days, we're running those tomorrow. So, excuse me, Thursday. So if you're listening to this on Friday,
Starting point is 01:17:06 they ran yesterday. they're probably going to ship out Monday. But you'll get up by the 4th of July. Life is good. Can't wait for those 251 plates. 21. What's better than 250? I mean, it's better, right?
Starting point is 01:17:20 Like, okay, 250 years is great. But then 251 years, that's even better. So it's like, I don't understand why I would just stop celebrating. Yeah, right? I don't know. I'm sure it's really cheap to get the special edition plates made and everything like that. Probably not a hassle at all. Like really cheap, really cheap.
Starting point is 01:17:36 really easy like just 51 you just like tell them to make them and they do it just instantly that's how works be really fired up about 251 it'll be a world cup off year but I think people will still be really excited so far I can't wait to make 251 merch and so it's going to be on the it's going to be on the two and a half micro it's going to it's going to say it's going to say America 251 and the other side it'll say in three years world cup and phasmo that's right it's a super commitment of play you can make a micro plate 2.51 yes yeah yeah yeah yeah that's good thinking tray that's good thinking yeah yeah yeah you just you own all the manufacturing and all that and it's really easy it's just real simple streamlined vertically integrated and all that stuff yeah I should just give
Starting point is 01:18:32 the vets a discount. Oh, yeah, or for free, honestly. Like, you hate the troops? Yeah. You served America. Do you even like the troops? Do you support them at all? We support the troops. We support the troops.
Starting point is 01:18:44 That's not her brain was paying that to take plates, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. Just have them. That's what I thought. Hey, that's good stuff. We did a little sports talk in since we talked. Oh.
Starting point is 01:18:59 Do we get a, as great, you've been doing a World Cup update? I assume and I said it's been running. Yeah, yeah. I have followed it more than I've ever followed it before. Hey, there you go. I generally do follow the World Cup. Well, I also get confused between the World Cup and the Olympics. But what I like about the World Cup and the Olympics is I just pull for America.
Starting point is 01:19:21 There you go. It's easy. And so it's simple. Whereas like Premier League, MLS, it's like I'm going to pick this random country city and London that I don't know it doesn't make any sense to me but so I like the World Cup because it's simple I just pull for
Starting point is 01:19:39 America and then Mexico's my backup team because I'm fluent in Spanish yeah yeah yeah yeah Viva Mexico so I've watched both America game start to finish with Russell Crow
Starting point is 01:19:56 coaching nice dressed by Kirkland signature which I appreciate appreciate. And I've watched both Mexico games and Mexico plays again tomorrow which I'll probably watch. Is it a course of this? They both qualified.
Starting point is 01:20:12 I don't know. I think not. I don't even know what that means. Qualified for what? Next round, man. Well, yeah, because they won two, right? Yes. Yes. Yeah. Mexico's Achilles Hill is the fifth round. That's what,
Starting point is 01:20:29 that's where they, they're always good and make it. It's the fifth round that they, I don't know how long it's been. Are you talking about the round of 16? Yeah. Is that what you mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:41 Yeah. That's kind of like the U.S. I would say the U.S. is the same way. Same. Yeah. Same. Can you get to the knockout round, but can't get past that hurdle.
Starting point is 01:20:50 Yeah. But no, yeah, it's been fun. It definitely seems more publicized, but it's, I guess I'm also just, soccer ignorant. We haven't hosted in a long time. But at the same time, there's like games being played
Starting point is 01:21:10 in Mexico. So I'm like confused how we're hosting and then stuff still happening in other countries, but I'm pro America, so I'm with it. Yeah. They're calling it North America is hosting it. So Canada, US and Mexico. US has the preponderance of the games.
Starting point is 01:21:26 But there's, you know, there's some that are in Vancouver, Toronto, and then like Mexico City and Guadalajara. Yeah. So, yeah, the last time we hosted was in 94. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:39 Yeah, at least for the men's one. So, and so you're just like all the games are played, if it's like in, what, Cutter last time or Qatar. Yeah. Qatar. It's always like, it's like at 2 a.m. is usually like you would have to wake up and watch the game. Right.
Starting point is 01:21:57 So I think one, it feels bigger this time because it's all prime time. And then two, it's like the U.S. There's no social media. So, yeah, I feel like with social media, it's a real big deal. So I think it's a lot bigger. Yeah. Yeah. I'm all about those Norwegians.
Starting point is 01:22:17 Oh, dude. They're playing well right now. This is fun. Yeah, like the big names are playing well, at least in this group phase. So you got messy, scoring a ton of goals. You got Holland. Also missed a terrible corner kick or a penalty kick. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:38 He's not traditionally, though, a great penalty taker. He's like sub 80%, I think. You've actually always said that. And another thing for the listeners, for those are just getting to soccer, you're like new football enthusiasts, not like us. We've always loved football. It's big soccer. Penalty kicks are tough to do against tall grass.
Starting point is 01:22:54 Oh, yeah. Like they're not as easy as they look. No. No, no, no, no. and then because we're from the south killing him Boppe is putting them in
Starting point is 01:23:07 and then you had Rinaldo getting on the board today with two goals even though he looked like he was a shell of himself in that first game that's because he's a Christian exactly exactly yeah so that works yeah yeah so yeah he was fired
Starting point is 01:23:21 I think it helps in your playing who's Beckastand no they seem like a soccer country yeah I mean, there is something about soccer that it's like, we talked about this last week, or maybe two weeks ago, Jeff, but like baseball, you need a bat.
Starting point is 01:23:42 You need like some kind of apparatus on the ground to like signify a base. Oh, yeah. You know, like a rubber made base. People need gloves. You obviously need like eye paint for the sun. You need a cool hat that's fitted. You need a muddhapyed.
Starting point is 01:23:57 Yeah, you need, you need a, what are they called, city streets or city, uh, city, uh, city, trends, Jersey. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a lot of things you need for baseball, football, you need helmets, whatever. Um, I mean, you just need a ball. Yeah, yeah. Pretty, pretty minimal. So you kind of play anywhere.
Starting point is 01:24:19 Yeah, I guess technically you need a net, but not really. You just put like two sticks on the ground. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. It's good to do. It's been fun.
Starting point is 01:24:29 I've been enjoying it. I've been enjoying it. And it's on all the time. Oh, it's great. Everywhere you go, there's a sports game. All day.
Starting point is 01:24:38 Yeah. So I'm driving to, I just got to Houston. Oh, oh. Oh, Houston, Texas. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:48 Used to be Texas. Now it's just. All it's shown he's done. Yeah. Spurro, Louisiana. Oh, by you. it's a no so i stopped in bucky halfway down and it was full of Portuguese fans oh nice
Starting point is 01:25:06 nice to like they must have been on a bus because they were like everywhere in there oh yeah my uh this was like before uh Scotland's first game up in in Foxborough my mom was visiting my sister up there outside of Boston in the hotel she was staying at she was like oh my gosh it's like full of Scotland fans. So, you know, it's, it's cool. I don't know. Yeah, they're out there. Everybody's having a good time supporting their team.
Starting point is 01:25:37 I don't know. If you had to pick one before we move on, if we had to pick one, who would you say is going to win it? U.S.A. USA. USA. U.S.A. How long you want me to go?
Starting point is 01:25:50 I'd go on. That's good. Yeah. Keep going. Yeah. I mean, I don't think of that, dude, you would not have states. America. Man, I really
Starting point is 01:26:02 hope the U.S., like, if they win it, that would be crazy and everyone would say it's rigged, but that would be amazing. Just like the L.A. elections. Sorry. But I don't know. It's tough to pick against, like, France. You look at their roster. It's insane. Look at England's roster.
Starting point is 01:26:23 What does Vegas say? That's a good question. I feel like Spain was before it started the phase. favorites to win. France. Spain, France.
Starting point is 01:26:33 Spain plus 500. Argentina plus 600. Argentina plus 650. Portugal plus 1,000. Brazil's plus 1,200. Didn't they like tie a game? They're, they have some good players,
Starting point is 01:26:47 but they're like, this is like an older team for as far as like Brazil goes. Brazil. And they're like kind of, yeah, now they, not the same firepower
Starting point is 01:26:57 that they usually bring. Sounds interesting. I think it lines up well for the U.S. It does. And we can definitely get through... Plus 3,000. Well, because there's an extra round this year, right? Like, there's a round of 32.
Starting point is 01:27:14 Yeah, so round of 32, they will either play the winner of Qatar or I can't remember whoever they play. Bosnia, Bodhis and if they win that, then they'll probably play Belgium, which is should be winnable.
Starting point is 01:27:29 It is. Yeah, but we've had a terrible record against European teams. So, but we'll see. FIFA guys. It's a FIFA podcast. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So what does FIFA stand for?
Starting point is 01:27:44 It's a, I don't know. Federation International Football Association. Yeah. I thought that was F it, fire at will. There you go. That's Fifi. Yeah, it's FeeBF. Okay.
Starting point is 01:27:59 And then last, I do think it's funny. that for the quote unquote New York games, they like branded as like New York, New Jersey. And it's like, no, that stadium is in New Jersey. Like just call it New Jersey. Like no, no, no, no, no, it's New York, New Jersey. Like, oh, where is the stadium? Oh, it's in New Jersey.
Starting point is 01:28:18 Oh, so it's not in New York. Yeah, but we're still going to call it New York because, you know, who cares about New Jersey? Hey, I do. That's not my sentiment. I'm just saying, you know, that's, you know, and you know, just wait until I get New Jersey on Chow Radio. Yeah, there we go.
Starting point is 01:28:34 Hey, quick, can we circle back real quick? Oh, yeah, absolutely. Let's put sports in the parking lot for a second. Very well, go back to Chow Radar. Trey, are you just going to have like the greatest hits on Chow Radar? Because I looked around and I don't even think I saw anything in the threes. Okay. No, I have a couple of three.
Starting point is 01:28:56 I'm glad you circled back for this. because I am I'm actually I don't know what my answer is on this and this is where your list format would make sense if you're in Texas and you want a burger now you can see where's trade's best burger but I think that you probably have 10 burgers on there and they're all between 4.0 and 4.9 and 4.9 and 4.9 and 4.9 and 4.9 and 4.9 on nitro cold brew 0.1 on tacos because we don't serve them. Like, you know, like, I don't, I don't know what the plan is there. Because I feel like if we just have a bunch of, like right now, I'm just putting bangers. Yeah, no, and that's why I started off with, I started off with my favorites. I do have a couple of threes, maybe a two in there somewhere. Yeah, I feel like I did see a two or something in there.
Starting point is 01:29:54 I feel like I had a, I think I had a 2.5 in there somewhere, which is just like, straight average. So I do, but I did start off with, I'm like, all right, these are my favorite restaurants I've been to in Texas. I, these are going to my benchmark of what I want to think people should get. Now, as I go to subpar restaurants, I will put them on there. Well, I think the thing now would be, and we don't know where child radar's headed. I think now, here's what I think.
Starting point is 01:30:28 and the developers listening. I think now what we should do if there's a recommend, so you have all these lists and it could be, we can be different in how we do your list. You're Texas burgers, your Texas tech specs. I'm regional. And I think how we get community involvement is someone says, oh, Jeff lives in the greater Salt Lake City area.
Starting point is 01:30:54 My favorite Chicago-style pizza is in Salt Lake City. And they recommend it to Jeff, a viewer. And then Jeff goes. And then Jeff rates it. Right. So we put our kind of favorite things, and then the viewers dictate where we go. And then we go and rate. And that's where potentially there's, I want to say a bad rating.
Starting point is 01:31:19 I wish no bad thing on anyone. But we also have our own flavors and style. Right. Like you send me to Lockhart, if they don't have pulled pork with vinegar style, barbrew sauce and they just give me a big fatty burn ends i'm gonna be like it's r2-7 yeah yeah yeah okay okay yeah no i think that's interesting way to look at i was thinking like oh maybe they're all good so even if it's a one on chow radar like still go to it and like really breaks down like uh we could really get nitty gritty on as far as the scoring goes because even the ones like good
Starting point is 01:31:58 So something in the fours is like life changing. Are we, I, or I have three different faces that I show up on there. One, it's like a frowny face. And if it's like below a two, it's a frowny face. If it's like in the middle, it's like, and if it's like, if you're not watching it on YouTube, you're missing this whole station. Yeah. If you're wearing a Toledo Mudhin hat, it's a four nine or above.
Starting point is 01:32:26 That's right. That's it. Also, Jeff, our developer, who shall not be named, was like he develops, and he just had a kid, so you guys have no idea who it is. Yeah, it could be anyone. But there's like windows of time where he's like, I need this. And he's like, I need a photo of Jeff. He's like, I need a photo of Jeff.
Starting point is 01:32:48 And it's like, oh, if I don't send him to this now, it'll never happen. So I stop everything I'm doing for Chow Radar. America 250 plate, chuck that in the dirt, Chow Radar. scales, way bigger. So I put you in a boony cover. So I'm in a hat. Some people might call them cowboy hats. I'm in a hat.
Starting point is 01:33:07 Trey's just vibing. And you're in a boonie cover because I typed in your name and it was the first photo that popped up. So maybe you should rate MREs in the best places that you've had annual training. I could go in on some MREs. Big fan of the PISA MREs. I'll just say that. Developer. We need a.
Starting point is 01:33:27 an MRI radar in addition to child. Yeah, a completely different website. Completely different Matt. Like, I want a different engine running this thing. Like, it's a very, very different. I want it's going to take. Yeah, it's going to take years to develop.
Starting point is 01:33:42 You know what? Talking on my Texas Beaked Goods. No, that's my favorite part. That's my favorite. This Kalachi is it can't miss. We just organized your entire life, Tray. Yeah, I know. Yeah, we did you a favor.
Starting point is 01:34:00 Did you a favor? I love it. Made this website. It's just for me just to find out where he wants to go eat. Yeah. It's just to save your marriage. Happy wife, happy life. That's it.
Starting point is 01:34:10 I appreciate it, man. Should also put what day of the week and what time you visited. And then you should be was Kitchen Six with me? Those are your three, your three Chow Radar questions. Would I bet my bar? I love that. This is a turning into Chow Radar podcast. So I've always wanted to.
Starting point is 01:34:31 We need more data. More data. Data. Data. Data. Data. Data. Data.
Starting point is 01:34:37 Data. Data. Data. What else we got on there? Oh, man. Oh, man. Hold on. What do we got?
Starting point is 01:34:43 I feel like I had one. Quickly back to sports. Oh, are we done? We're done with the circling back. We're taking sports. Yeah. Out of the parking lot. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:34:56 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We have stepped. Now we're stepping out into the parking lot. Okay. Okay. I just want to introduce this.
Starting point is 01:35:05 This will be something to be the next week or the following week. We can do our picks on, but I want to do, I heard this from Josh Pate, right? Josh Pate. That's the guy's name, Trey. Yeah, Pate State, baby. Yeah. Yeah. Great.
Starting point is 01:35:22 Love is football, college football podcast. Also great storm chaser. Yeah. But he talked about like this kind of thing where you like it's called like the college football like bubble. It's how you it's like a game you can play. So you can pick as many teams as you want or as few teams as you want. But the goal is to with and that's your bubble however you know, that's like the number you take 10 teams. You have 10 team bubble.
Starting point is 01:35:48 If one of your teams in that bubble wins the national championship, right? You could potentially win. So if I pick 10 teams and let's say Auburn For sport or per all sports For college football college football Auburn just folk yeah And say Auburn wins a national championship Like they're obviously going to do and everybody should pick them to win
Starting point is 01:36:10 I've got 10 teams in my bubble and they win So my bubble didn't get popped But Trey he picked eight teams and had Auburn in there because he's a savvy college football man and picked Auburn to win the national championship. He would therefore finish ahead of me because he had a smaller bubble that didn't get popped.
Starting point is 01:36:32 But say I pick three teams. I pick, you know, Auburn three times, and then they don't win the national championship. My bubble pops. So, no, I don't win anything. But that's the game.
Starting point is 01:36:47 It's like, you can pick as many teams as you want or as few teams as you want, but the goal is to have the national champion within that number. and then you're trying to get it as small as possible to make your bubble more competitive than others. With the winner, okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:02 I kind of miss part of the rules because all I can think about is my daughter going, bubbles. And then me blowing them and then she going, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. She doesn't understand the game. Not yet. She will.
Starting point is 01:37:17 Okay. She will. Yeah, I like that. My problem with Josh paid is that he broadcasts to Columbus, Georgia. And it's confusing to me because Columbus, directly above. Somehow. It's like, wait, what?
Starting point is 01:37:27 And there's two Columbuses. Two Columbuses. They must be, they must be exactly north and south of each other, I would hope. All right. Well, next week we should pick a bubble. I like that. But I think we also need touch on how the Citadel is number two. Second best team of the nation.
Starting point is 01:37:48 Yeah. Second best team in the nation. Yep. Lost Oklahoma in a rubber game. Oklahoma wins the whole thing. to say I'm fired up about next year is, I mean, yeah, so they couldn't be more fired up. I got my, I got my 2026 SoCon championship gear.
Starting point is 01:38:06 So does Isabella, so does my wife. We're ready. Love it. Oh, just win, man. They smoked them. What was the, is it 14 to smoke that? We went through a buzz salt, man. I think it's different if we're not in that regional.
Starting point is 01:38:22 I don't think we win the whole thing. but I'll put you this way. They beat Chapo Hill 14 to 3. I think in the final game, we lost 8-4. So we're better than Chapel Hill was. And they were number two. So therefore, we're number two. Therefore, relatively speaking, if you look at it for capita.
Starting point is 01:38:43 When I used to drive a septic truck to pump septic tanks, we would say we're number one at your number two. We also said you dump it. What kind of hose? What kind of hose are? That's a trade gets right to the heart of it. We also said you dump it, we pump it. And we also said a straight flush beats a full house.
Starting point is 01:39:05 Hey. He's in a green hose? Yeah, what kind of hose is green hose? Green hose. I got photos of my hoses. Yeah. Yeah. It's a green PVC suction.
Starting point is 01:39:18 I got photos of my hose. Might have been EPDM. Yeah. I'm not. I know it was green now. Okay, here we go. It was green. If you...
Starting point is 01:39:29 It's a man that knows his hose over there. Are listening to this podcast Friday. And you've been watching the Stranko Instagram. And you're obviously subscribed to YouTube as one does. Obviously. And you're like, why did Grant post a photo of him pumping a septic tank in his dad's yard holding a green hose? It's because of this reason. And I'm going to post that tomorrow.
Starting point is 01:39:55 And here you go. I'm going to show it. If you're watching on next, you're going to see this live. I'm going to show you a video, Trey. This is me. Let me focus. Focus here. See that?
Starting point is 01:40:09 That's a green. That's a green hose. That's a green hose. That's me pumping it. Solid green. And I was in a Southern Baptist environment, but there's, you know, it's a famous line. It's green and black. was a famous line of a tiger tiger dream baby there's a famous line of uh i can't say it my mother's
Starting point is 01:40:35 was saying of crappers full from a movie yes and i just wanted to say that all the time because there was like five kids home and 17 grandkids and septic tank backed up i just sent you a photo can you verify the hose tray i should have sent to both of you but i just sent you that I trades the hose verifier. It looks like that actually is my company's host. Look at that. I love that.
Starting point is 01:41:00 Hey. Dude, I knew you were the CEO of Hose International. Oh my gosh. That is a 3 inch PG 300. Looks like maybe 100 footer. That's a Cadillac of hoses.
Starting point is 01:41:15 I think it's a 4 inch. Four inch? Okay. T400. You're the guy. Sounds expensive. Yeah. Hey, if your crapper's full this Thanksgiving,
Starting point is 01:41:27 so if you need tax out. I'll be a deal, Jeff. Hey, appreciate you. If you need to tax out, call BW. If you need a helmet, call Mr. Helmut. If you need a chow recommendation in Texas for any type of chow, call Tray.
Starting point is 01:41:41 If you need to know if the straight of Formuzons open, call Jeff, if you need your septic tank pumped, I know people. Call, call Grant. Yeah. Call Grant. All right. All right.
Starting point is 01:41:52 All right. All right. Alibis? Let's see. If you want to listen to Mutiny after midnight on Apple, Apple music, you can stream it now. I'm assuming it's also on Spotify, but I don't know how long it's been on there, but it was news to me the other day.
Starting point is 01:42:08 Who's that? Johnny Blue Skies. Oh, Johnny Blue's guys. Oh, right. Yeah, Sturgle. Yeah, Sturgle. Waylon, I'm going to listen to a lot of diamonds. Come on.
Starting point is 01:42:17 That song is good. Come here. When you want to. I'm excited about the album. I watched the whole documentary. I think it's CBS with Shooter. And, yeah, I'm excited because he released that songbird last year, which was good.
Starting point is 01:42:33 And I was like, oh, yeah, of course, this was an unreleased Wayland song. That's not a takeaway from the song. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But it calls this one of a young man's album. And, man, the first song is a banger. Bangers, dude. Yeah. And get a little truck talk.
Starting point is 01:42:50 Oh, yeah. Truck talk, for sure. Oh, yeah. So I got a brother-in-law. I got a brother-in-law and yeah, quick save around. This could be long because it ties into fly fishing,
Starting point is 01:43:00 but I got, I got a, I got a haul pass this Friday. I've been trying to go fly fishing. So if you're listening to this right now, I'm wetting lines. I am dropping Mayflies. I can't tell you where I am
Starting point is 01:43:12 because John Collins will kill me. But I'm in California mountains. I'm fly fishing. Going Friday before my buddy goes to Newport War College, had to get it on the books, some books. I'll be PFT complete
Starting point is 01:43:22 and I'll be wet and flies right now. But the problem with the area I'm going fishing to is I don't think a long bed truck can make it there. And so I got a brother-in-law that's had a 2010 Toyota Tacoma jacked up with a lift kit parked in front of the Strankgo warehouse for a couple of years. He asked me if you park it there. She's been sitting there. And I've kind of made some comments over time. Like, hey, man, your truck. And he's like, oh, yeah, I'm going to get that thing.
Starting point is 01:43:51 It's been there. So I've been trying to go fishing. I'm like, I got to go fishing. How can I get to go fishing? I don't want to rent a car. That feels lame. So I'm like, I'm going to get this truck running. So I got there.
Starting point is 01:44:04 There's 2010 Tacoma, and I try to jump it with one of those like high speed, you know, little gizmos that you plug into it. And I knew that wouldn't work, but that didn't work. So then I put the Black Beauty 95 Chevy on it. and I probably let that Chevy run for 45 minutes trying to get that battery go, wouldn't go. So I said, I'd go get a new battery for this thing. So I went down to AutoZone, got a new battery, came back, put the battery on. Definitely had juice, wouldn't turn on.
Starting point is 01:44:33 Then I'm in the fuse box, switch to starter relay, and I get her to crank. And I don't generally like to give Toyota accolades. I'm a Chevy man. But she cranks up. She cranks up. I'm like sweet. I take it for a little test drive, take it for a little spin. I'll send you guys a photo of her a little bit.
Starting point is 01:44:54 And she's running. I'm like, okay, cool. So I come back, I shut it off. And I go in the warehouse. I'm working. I come back. I'm like, let me just make sure. Before I take this thing, like down the mountain path, I need to make sure like it's good.
Starting point is 01:45:05 I'm going to crank it won't crank. It's got like some aftermarket. It's definitely was an off-road vehicle at one time. It's got a security system, all this stuff. So I just start everything that's aftermarket, like unplugging it. Cranks again. I'm like, all right, we're getting. somewhere.
Starting point is 01:45:20 Drive it around, but I'm scared to, like, turn it off, you know, because I'm like, sometimes I turn it off. It doesn't turn back on. So I bring it back to the warehouse, turn it off. Go turn back on, turns on. Go to leave that day, get my 95 Chevy. I'm like, let me see if it turns on. Won't turn on.
Starting point is 01:45:35 I'm like, dang, I don't think this is going to work Friday. So I go back today, get there, it cranks right up. Drive around and bring back, won't crank up. It's just nothing, right? It's not like the starter's failing. It's like nothing. So I found some more aftermarket, like nonsense connected to it. And I disconnected that.
Starting point is 01:45:57 And I changed another fuse. I don't even know what it was to. I just pulled every single fuse and found another burnt fuse. And today, I've been driving it all day. I have, I drove it to the post office, to Mail Stranko T-shirts. I drove it to FedEx. I drove it to the grocery store. It's parked out front right now.
Starting point is 01:46:16 And I'm feeling good. of feeling good. It's got no rear shocks because it used to be lifted and then they try to bring it back down the stocks. He's got leaf springs, but doesn't have shocks.
Starting point is 01:46:26 But it's short base, extended cab, 2010, Tacoma, with the fender flares, oversized tires. And unless something is Tuesday right now while we're recording, unless something happens
Starting point is 01:46:40 in the next 48 hours, I'm going to take that thing down a mountain and go. I'd go hunting for some trout. And if we're, if there's no episode 116, I died. That's where you are. Okay.
Starting point is 01:46:55 Yeah, that's where I am. I'm going to bring my star link with me just in case. So you can record the episode. I get it. Yeah. Smart. No. So I can text you.

Starting point is 01:47:30 about actors, and I do like that question. I want to get to that next episode, I think, though. Next week. But I think that's all I got. Nothing else for the group. No. Ernest Hage who loves me. So good.
Starting point is 01:47:58 It's so good. My daughter loves it, which has been a nice break from Lainey Wilson Roadrunner. That was her last favorite song. This is a welcome guest. Trey, why don't you take this thing down for a landing? All right. This is episode 0115. Fife.

Starting point is 01:50:03 About nice. About 35 to 40 people either claim their free sticker or bought a t-shirt with their sticker. Those have all been mailed out unless you in the last 48 hours with a 250 shirt. I've got them in this week. I've had some people DM me and say, I'd ever got an email. And then I look. in it's because you fat fingers or email.
Starting point is 01:50:25 But if you didn't get an email, did it, send me a DM. Will you find me wherever you find me and I'll do it? I probably sent four or five today of people like, I never got an email and I just send a link, claim their sticker. But yeah, 50-coucher challenge.
Starting point is 01:50:40 And you can't find him, he's fishing. Yeah. That's right. Or dead. Or dead. Or dead. We www. We have chow radar up and running.

We have our social media links on there. Give us a follow. We are all very active on our individual social media accounts. Oh, my gosh, yes.
