All right, welcome back to episode one, two, two of the OK podcast powered by the Strength Co.
I am your host, Grant Broji.
We're recording live from Newport, Rhode Island, where the inseam on all shorts is not allowed to be longer than three inches.
Joining us in studio also, Robert Trey Gautilich III, Robert Trey Gautilch the third, the best hose man you've ever heard.
Robert Trey Gautlich the Third.
I've always said that, never not say that, won't stop saying that.
I had a little hose issue today.
And I thought about old tray.
I said, you know, I'm a tenant right now.
I'm not an owner.
You know, not all of us can be boomers and own a bunch of houses.
I'm a tenant.
And if there was one thing I would want to upgrade to this house, it would be the hose.
There's that like square box apparatus outside that you've got to like wind up.
Every time you wind up, your hands are filthy.
It connects into an irrigation.
So it's kind of like a manual irrigation system, very close.
cover, just terrible hose. Terrible hose. The whole, you know, backyard was soaked by the time I was
done and the plants probably got no water. So if you need a good hose, go to trayshoses.com.
Trayshoses.com and you get 15% off right now if you buy at least six, six feet of hose.
If you find that website, you get 100% off. Yeah, Tracehoses.com. He's joined us from Frisco,
Texas, which is basically the greater Dallas-Fort Worth, speaking of greater areas.
Joining us from the greater Salt Lake City area of Montgomery, Alabama is Mr. Jeff
Bege, Beghe, Beghe, Beggy, Biggie, however you say it, it's up to you.
Is there some ambiguity there on what it actually is?
Maybe, I don't know, but I guarantee you his dad's pool temperature water right now is about, oh, 73 degrees.
Oh, I would be my assumption.
I get that.
probably put an ice in the pool so we can get an update on that.
We're recording in episode 1-22.
The price of Bitcoin is $63,510, according to my block clock,
which is usually about 30 seconds behind current trades, if you will,
blockchain, you know, we all understand Bitcoin really well.
The important thing is when we started the podcast, we were at 40,
now we're at 63.
We can't afford to stop podcasting.
We've got to keep going.
Today's date is August the 3rd.
12th in the year of our Lord, 2026.
We have a ton to talk about tonight.
The guys have been blown up to chat with all their topics all week.
It's been really hard to keep track of.
We're glad you're here.
We're live on X.
I had a couple people to message me today.
Say, are you live?
We somehow morphed into recording on Wednesdays,
mainly because we want the information to you,
the listener on Friday, to be more recent and more relevant.
So if you're watching the Blue Jays and the Red Sox right now,
it's 1-1. That game will be over by the time Friday comes, but at least it won't have been
three days old. It'll just be two days old. So we're here to help you with that. Now,
usually at this point of the show, I turn it over to the three, but I'm actually going to turn it
over to Trash 5. Good morning, staff, commanders, sergeant's major. Trash 6 is out right now.
He's TAD. He's on a board this week on a trash board. Reviewing.
in future war fighting dumpster symposium somewhere at Quantico DC. I can't remember where
he was going. Generally, we kick all this over to the commodities to keep in with Trash Six's
intent. Having the meeting is part of the meeting. But for some of my lieutenants, and quite honestly,
I'm just going to be very frank as Trash 5. A lot of my senior enlisted, you guys tend to just talk
kind of about nothing.
So I'm going to kick this.
I will let Sergeant Major talk at the end.
The Gallo Sergeant Major is traveling with trash six.
But I'm just going to kind of show you what at an executive level brief look.
So for my young company grades, this is what's expected of you when you become a field grade.
First thing I want to orient you to besides the North Seeking Arrow on the slideshow is that all the slides are updated.
So that's kind of like step one to being a field grade is updating your slides.
I'm just going to go buy warfighting function and get all.
the way through, then I'll hand it over to my brother from the three shop to get outlying station.
So, S1, the numbers are bumping.
Shut up, Lieutenant Bonelli.
We don't want to hear from you.
The numbers are bumping and everyone's been paid.
That's been fixed.
S2, straight of Hormuz, still closed.
You can see it right there on the slide.
Strait of Hormuz is closed.
For S3, there's two things that remember in the three shop.
You got cops and Phops.
Cops, what we're doing now, Fops, what we'll do later.
Really nothing else to put there.
There's a teep.
Look at the teep.
We don't need to talk about in the meeting.
S4, Phasmos,
coming down the pipe in about two years, as it always has been. And the big slide, I want you to see
in the lower right-hand quadrant there, kind of south of the north-seeking arrow, is that there's
12 dumpsters. I want to bring those to the forefront of the battalion. Three are in storage. Four are
deadlined. So three plus four is seven, take away from the 12. We have five left. Two are at the
Cajun Sarger Major's House. So we have three dumpsters available.
So that's all there is for the four.
Remember, there's no five shop.
I personally think Trash Five that bring it in like the medical officer to talk about a dental radio is and waste of time.
Next slide.
S6, they're still working record jackets.
Looks like everything is going well in preparation for Fasmo.
And that is what you call an executive level summary and brief.
I'll kick it over to the Cajun Sergeant Major in case he has any senior enlisted comments.
That'll be very insightful, I'm sure.
and then the three will take outlining stations.
Thank you all for your attention to the matter.
That's a brief.
I don't know what to say after that.
That was a beaut.
That was beautiful.
You just, the only thing you forgot there at the end was a go tigers.
Now, you got to be sure you thought that again.
There you go, son.
There you go.
You got to throw it out there at the end.
Go tigers.
Go tigers.
No, outside of that, I need to update you.
I do have a third dumpster at my house.
You know.
that's not in the CMR.
Don't bring that up. I know it's there.
Okay, good to go. So, yeah, you know,
just the ball's coming down. We got a good head count.
Got a lot of people going on leave.
Hopefully we can still operate.
I'm sure we can. That's all I have for the group.
See in my house. Go tag.
I go talk to you.
Hey, brother. I hope you don't mind me stealing the show.
You want to kick out to the outlying stations, brother?
Yeah, brother. We got, it looks like just one outline
outline station.
We got John Kay, Colorado, checking in.
commo delay due to S6 taking out the trash their fault my bad nightstockers landed nearby that was cool
all super secure oh we have an update it even even more secure sector seven all super secure in sector
seven super secure this secures hey brother sorry looks like chaps lost your phone number uh i actually
just got a text from him about 12 minutes ago uh teams is down for direct review to trash six uh i have
off right now. And I can sign anything by dur. So if sorry, Major won't give you free leave,
I'm signing all leave requests right now. So just push them up to me. But it says,
chaplain checking in. I was in the field this week and have great news to report. The Cajun
chaplain's efforts to send out the new translation has led to more people coming to our office
with questions than ever before. As a reminder, our office hours are every fourth Tuesday of the
month from 08 to 1100 make sure to check in with RP we are always available for lunch meetings
as well where can i go from your spirit or where can i flee from your presence if i send to heaven
you are there if my make my bed and she'll behold you are there psalm 139 7 and 8 n as as bnge 5
just as trash six is always keeping tabs on us so is god he's always with us and well acquainted
with our every need he also has a better office hours than the chaplain team
Nothing else for the group over.
Thanks, chaps.
You don't have to say over in a text message,
but appreciate it.
Thanks for everything you do for the team.
That's pretty good.
Should we start the show?
Do you have any sponsors?
Oh, I was so rushed into getting Trey out within 60 minutes
that, you know, I had to spend a lot more time prepping the slides,
making sure they were an executive summary to get through the staff brief
in under 10 minutes, which we've done,
one zero bingo.
Yeah, Trey, why don't you tell them about our sponsors?
Oh, is that me?
You know, nothing really has changed as far as week to week sponsors go.
The only thing that is constant is taxes, taxes coming down.
So who do we call for taxes if we call BW?
W LLC, good guy, better taxes.
Tax season is not until April, but if the sooner you're ready for it,
the sooner, the easier it is
whenever that time does come.
So give BW a call.
He's ready for you right now.
Let me see.
Football season, how many more days
are we have till football season?
I think we're around.
It's less than...
Major?
17, maybe?
That sounds right.
I feel like it's around that.
17. We'll go 17.
1-7.
1-7-bing-ish days.
Best way.
I have found to support your teams, also scientifically proven,
is to buy a small, tiny helmet with your team's logo on it.
That is how the super fans support their team.
As Grant has one there, look at that.
No visor.
That is the thing of beauty.
Something's missing.
In all seriousness, best helmets in the game, Mr. Helmink, Green, Gridiron, Gridiron, Green.
Links below.
Get yourself a helmet.
football season is right around the corner.
Hey, I am not into football.
That's still okay.
You can get a custom helmet.
If you're super into Border Patrol, he's got to.
We got to keep those borders.
Close.
I need a helmet to display that.
Close the borders.
He can get any kind of helmet you want.
Really cool way to, if you got a company, whatever you have,
he can make you a custom helmet.
Really unique, cool way to get some marketing out there,
get some cool gifts going.
Mr. Helmet, Green, Green, Gradyon, Gridon.
green. Click the link below.
Click the link below.
Back to the shop. Oh, man.
We got a lot to talk about. We have so many things
to talk about. It's been a busy
week. We're wearing, everybody's
wearing the squat tea, heavy cotton.
If you're not watching on YouTube right now,
you're an idiot.
I'll just throw that out there. Not planned,
by the way. Not planned. Yeah, not playing.
Everyone's wearing a black. What are you
wearing, Trey? Are you wear 2X or
X? X. X. L.
Okay, I wear the Xel as well. I'm sitting
around 6-1-2-20 these days. I might be down to 215. Jeff, you wear a large, I presume.
He's Excel. Excel. Okay, I like the oversized. You know, I like it a little bit bigger,
a little more room. You know, it's not the heat that gets you. It's the humidity.
So if you're going to, yeah, if you're going to wear 100% cotton, I recommend the oversized.
Great shirt, a lot of colors. We just restocked some of them. And, you know, we don't need you to be a
billboard, although we do have a couple
billboard shirts, but, you know,
just a simple t-shirt, says it's
Stranko. Some guy came up
to me in the gym this week, and he said, oh,
nice strength coat tea. I said,
yeah, you heard him? He goes, yeah, I watched that guy
on YouTube. Well, it was lifting stuff.
I'm a starting strength guy.
I said, oh, cool.
And he goes, wait,
is that you? And I said,
well, I don't know. Last I checked,
I'm just trash six.
So in any event, go get yourself a basic squat tea.
It's Made in America.
Cotton's from the Carolinas.
It is sewn together in Los Angeles.
And you can get yourself a nice Made in America T-shirt and support the cause.
And we appreciate every order.
Beautiful.
Yeah, they're great T-shirts.
They're great at gripping a barbell if you got it on your back.
But then they're also very great at gripping you.
If you get very sweaty in them, it's sometimes.
difficult to get out of what it is.
It's not very hot in Alabama,
is it? No, not at all. Not at all.
I don't have any sweat. Are these your number one
sellers? Like this style shirt?
It's actually about
50-50, pun intended,
with the 50-50 shirt.
Oh, really? So, but people are
die-hards. There's like
camps. It's, you know,
it's like, hey, I'm a Sun-Zoo guy or my Clausewitz
guy. Those are two different people, right?
I would say the Sun-Zoo guys
are the squat tea.
you know,
Klausowitz is more of a 50-50 guy.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, so I used to,
I remember when I first got it,
it took a little bit of getting used to
because I was not.
The high neck.
The high neck.
Yeah.
Now it just feels weird if I wear anything else.
I put on, my mother sent me
a T-shirt. It's a Drake May
quote,
T-shirt, photo of him.
It's a Tar-Hill shirt.
My mom sends me Tar-Hill stuff.
And which I appreciate,
she's an alumnus.
I actually wore a tar hill polo.
She had sent me like a golf shirt of sorts to school the other day.
And someone was like, hey, go heels.
You go to the UNC?
I'm like, no, my mom did.
They were like, what?
I'm like, yeah, she listens to my podcast.
Like, you have a podcast?
Anyway, everything's marketing.
Everything's marketing.
Yeah, but the, but the neck is like you can see my,
is this a clavicle over here?
Yeah, I'm a clavicle.
I'm a starting train coach.
I'm a master.
in anatomy.
Clavicle?
No, collarbone.
Collarbone.
Where is your clavicle?
That's the, wait.
Yeah, no, that's the clavicle.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
In any event, I like the tighter.
I like the, yeah, we're doctor.
I mean, we're better than Dr. Fauci.
And that's without trying, you know.
So a couple things that none of us did,
writing our diaries in 2020 about how we know all the bad effects
that are about to happen.
or 2021.
If anything after words,
don't keep diaries.
Yeah,
just don't keep diaries.
I erase everything.
Keep it all up here.
Keep it upstairs.
I keep it upstairs.
I keep my thoughts upstairs
and God's thoughts in my heart
and I'm just secure.
There you go.
And the trash in the barrel
and the bend and the rubbish container.
Hey, if you were going to go through,
if you were driving your vehicle
and you were entering a location
that is round and there are four different roads that, so you're on one that's entering it,
and then there's three more exits that you could take.
What would you call such a traffic apparatus?
Trey?
I usually call those a roundabout.
A roundabout, okay.
What would you say, yeah?
Roundabout.
Okay.
I'm a rotary guy, big New England guy over here.
Is that what they're called up there?
Yeah.
Don't stop at the rotary.
Man, man, man.
Yeah, that's great.
Are you a big fan?
No.
No.
I think it would be great if people knew how to drive.
Yeah, but they don't.
So the rotary by the base at 8 in the morning or 7.30 or whatever time class starts,
everyone's coming in from different areas.
And so the most popular exit is the base.
And it's still probably, I haven't measured it.
I bet it's 0.6 miles from the rotary.
to the base gate.
But, you know, the people that are running the base gate are highly motivated, highly
intelligent, you know, ID scanners, some of the nation's finest right there.
And so it gets backed up there when she backs up the rotary.
So my current, my current thought is, no, I'm not a fan.
Oh, that sounds super inefficient, yeah.
Oh, it's, yeah, it's not good.
But during the day, it actually kind of makes sense.
And you can see them, I mean, I guess the.
Islanders, but you can kind of see the maceholes that know, like, you're never, no one's
ever supposed to stop.
But then it just takes one idiot that doesn't understand how it works and like tries to treat
it like a four-way stop sign.
And then it's disaster.
I have a lot of horn.
The 97 Chevy horn still works.
I do appreciate the horn honking in the Northeast.
I'm, I've totally embraced it.
Sometimes I just honk the horn just want to crank up the vehicle.
Why not?
You know, right-da-da-why not.
functions check. It's good. It's good.
Good point. Good point.
No, they just put one in in the neighbor in our neighborhood.
And it's,
it's a one lane roundabout.
One lane. Well, that kind of defease the purpose.
Exactly. They took away the stop sign.
It was a four-way stop. They took it away.
And they just made it a roundabout because it,
I guess it looks nice too. Yeah. And New England, we just call that
a rotary. But people don't, people don't know how to do it.
They're like, so I just, I mean, it's stop.
It's Texas.
That's it.
I think that's exactly it.
They go.
I took it and then some lady pulled up and instead of falling behind me, she cut me off and
like went the opposite way.
Did you blow the horn?
It's in Texas.
We're just, you know, we just bottle all that stuff up.
Pray for, pray for them.
We bottled it up and then we explode one day.
That lady can't, can probably cook brisket better than just about anybody, but you can't
figure out the rotary. Exactly. That's why they called Texas. Good point.
Speaking of regional stuff, I like to view myself as having some New England knowledge.
My dad's from Worcester, a lot of stolen valor since I've moved here, just saying like,
oh, yeah, my family's from Worcester, you know. But I do have a large New England presidents of Brogis.
and I did not know that Rhode Island has its own version of clam chowder.
Did you guys know this?
No, I do.
I don't think it did.
Okay, so I'm sure you've heard of Manhattan clam chowder.
It's red-based, right?
I'm not a fan, personally.
I like a good creamy New England clam chowder.
That's the only one I've ever had.
Yeah, I like that.
But over here, there's no dairy.
and I like both.
I'm kind of coming to clam chowder the same way that I am on lobster rolls.
Some people have like, oh, you got to have a main style.
No, you have to have a Connecticut style.
I'm thinking, I kind of like both.
Sometimes I want the hot butter and sometimes I want the cold mayo, you know, Kulslaw vibe.
But here, there's no dairy, so it's more like a broth.
but as a seafood enthusiast
raised on the shrimp boats
for scump over here
I like how much you can taste the clams
and there's dill involved too
a lot of dill a lot of dill anyway
I never knew that and I was surprised
but I never knew but Rhode Island they have their own
style of chowda
so what's the red one
red one's Manhattan
New York so we hate that by default
what is what like what makes it red
I think tomato based
tomato base.
I've had it a few times.
That sounds pretty gross.
Didn't like it.
Yeah.
That's a good combo.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's not gumbo.
I know meetings over.
Does Cajun Star Major have any thoughts on this?
No.
As far as the, just talking about lobster, I know he's not a fan.
Wait.
Despises it.
What do you boys talking about?
You talk about mud books?
No way.
Yeah.
So, sorry, Major, just, I know that you don't like lobster or clams, but just pretend it's mudbugs.
Would you prefer more like a thin broth, a dairy broth, or a tomato-based, you know, broth?
Hmm.
Hmm.
I would say it a part of that, I don't want to put in no milk or anything like that.
So I'll probably just put it like in a broth.
And then I don't want no tomato soup on that.
No Campbell's on that, no.
You know, usually I just like a, you know, a little bit spicy, which was the spicy one?
That's the Cajun.
That's the one I like.
Get those mummugs in there.
Oh, they taste good, huh?
Now, have you ever been to a proper ball?
No, sorry, Major.
Every time I come over, you hand me a week of leave and I just, I'm home here.
I said, get out of here.
Get out of here, boy!
Get! Get!
You did give me a pack of nabs once.
I did.
So when I was recording that thing for
Instagram,
for all the one outline station who responded,
it's, I was recording it, and then Abby,
who is, you know, a loyal listener.
Big list.
Oh, yeah, never missed an episode.
Never missed an episode.
On X right now, probably watching.
Yeah, she's live, actually.
I was doing it.
And I think I did like one or two takes.
I can't remember because I did the first take.
I'm like, oh, that's not good.
So I just had him like, I'm do it one more time.
And I come downstairs that.
He goes, what the heck are you doing up there?
And I go, it's a whole bit.
I'm like, it's a Cajun person.
We don't know.
We don't know it's race.
It's undetermined.
He's just Cajun.
Yes.
So I did.
I'd explain the whole story.
And then she goes, well, what's a staff brief?
And I'm like, okay.
Yeah.
Start from the beginning.
Maybe she'd like the executive level brief this week.
So she's now starting from episode one.
Oh, good.
Good.
Sounds like a life sentence.
I thought it started about episode 90 when we stopped taking ourselves seriously or whatever episode.
Yeah.
Is that one or what?
Actually, I don't know.
Who knows?
I had someone message my mother and my mother sent me a screenshot.
And it was like, hey, I'm not.
you know, getting older, reaching 40s, 50s, something like that.
And, you know, I realized I needed to start resistance training.
So I started listening to your son's podcasts, started from episode one.
And I just thought, that poor lady, she's going to, like,
there'll be like four helpful episodes.
And then all the stats of offensive linemen from Texas,
uh,
uh,
she'd be like, what?
Yeah, we did go pretty heavy in those details, didn't we?
Hey, you know, you got to find your way.
Speaking of that, we do need to have a, we need to schedule a football episode, get down on the books.
Yeah, I mean, I think it's next week.
Right, Jeff, it's next week.
Yeah, yeah.
Well, play on.
Well, Donnie Bowers, I can handle that part, but I just mean in terms of if the first games in 27 days, like, it needs to come out the Friday before.
I can plan a joint.
operational all domain, no, joint all domain operation.
What is it?
What is it?
Joint all domain operation.
All domain operation.
I can't figure out when I need to record the episode for it to come out on Friday before.
Yeah, we have to do it next week because the 27th is technically the first game.
Perfect.
The 29th is really the one that we like, I think the FCS,
starts on the 27th.
Hey, don't be short change in the FCS.
So Saturday, 29th.
We could start with FCS.
North Carolina versus TCU in Dublin.
Thank goodness for playing college football games in Europe.
In Ireland.
Thank you.
Oh, so good.
Because, you know, the magic is not having the game on campus
with the student body and alumni.
If only there was a Premier League,
if only there was like just a Premier League,
Hey, that's even sooner, I think.
Yeah.
That makes me upset.
You take like the one good thing about college sports,
which is the campuses.
And then you're like, oh, get rid of that.
Let's go play in Dublin.
You know when this started when they put the cameras in the locker room.
That's when it all went down.
That started the degradation.
They put the cameras in the locker room.
Next thing you know, you got TCU playing in Dublin.
Were they playing Chapel Hill?
Chapel Hill.
Chapel Hill.
huge over here.
Well, this is the Chapel Hill podcast.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Thanks all our,
our heels.
Auburn.
Auburn.
Our tar heels are tuned in.
Auburn.
Auburn.
Tar heels.
Tar heels.
Auburn.
But yeah,
no.
And then we'll do.
Let's do bubble picks next week.
I think that's going to be fun.
And then we'll...
I don't even remember how the bubbles work.
Oh, when I think of bubbles, I think of those stupid wands that are in my yard.
Yeah, it involves those.
You're trying to just get to the car.
And it's like, bubbles?
And it's like, I mean, I do.
do want to do bubbles, but we actually have a place to be right now. Why is that bubble one right in front? Anyway, I digress.
How many of those do you have? I'd say we're somewhere between three and four hundred. They seem to be in every nook and cranny of my home.
All various colors. Yeah, various colors. Yeah, pink bubbles are different than purple bubbles, you know. Yeah. No, it's great. Yeah, it's great. One day you look back and say,
Where did bubbles?
Yeah, no.
What happened all that in bubbles?
Bubbles.
That's definitely what I'll say.
You've always said that.
Should we start the show?
Oh yeah.
I guess we should start it.
Okay.
Hit me with a real topic.
Out the gate.
A real topic, out the gate.
Well, I think we're kind of in the college football mindset.
So Florida's uniforms,
are these their uniforms they're going to be wearing all season?
Or is this just like a,
They're going to roll this out for like the Florida Georgia game,
but they're sweet-looking.
My research on this is almost in depth as all my research for the War College.
I saw an Instagram post with five slides and immediately became an expert.
But I think it's 60 years since Spurrier won the Heisman.
That sounds about right.
And so they did a throwback to the uniform that he wore 66.
Would that be 60 years?
Yeah, 66.
So yeah, and they're pretty cool.
I mean, I'm a sucker for old stuff.
I'm a sucker for used to be this way,
which means it was probably better.
But it's just, or, and I'm not a Florida fan.
I'm a Spurga fan.
I don't like Florida.
Sorry, Olivia.
Yeah, we have a faithful listener who is.
Yeah, faithful, very faithful.
But it's just a, I think it's an orange circle with a blue outline
and a white F in the middle.
and I may have one of those colors
swapped, but I'm pretty sure that's it.
For our YouTube listeners.
Yeah, that's great.
Oh, I like that.
That looks slick.
No, it's cool.
It's cool.
It's cool.
It's just simple.
It's cool.
I actually like the one now because it has a gator on it.
Yeah.
I like that one now.
Yeah, yeah.
I like one.
Like that one is neat, but I,
I mean, if we were going to just compare.
How much it says cater?
on the side, right?
Yeah, it's blue and it says gators.
They used to have one.
They used to have one with a gator.
I mean, if I were to take all logos, and I'm a Boston loyalist here, but the best one,
it's got to be the Toledo's mudhins because you have the T for Toledo and you have the
mudhins.
And all the roads lead through it.
And all the roads lead.
So it's just very clear.
That's actually a T intersect.
Yeah.
Not a roundabout or a rotary.
They don't use rotaries.
Yeah, they don't use rotaries.
They use Toledo.
Toledo, they just call that a road.
Just T interception.
It runs through them.
Misconception that that's a T.
It's actually just a bunch of roads that come together.
It's just all the roads.
All the roads that are coming together.
All three of them.
You listen to this podcast and you have an affiliation with Toledo.
You're very blessed.
I wish someone would talk about my hometown like this.
Yeah.
Yeah. Lee.
Well, it didn't South Carolina update
their uniforms?
Yeah, I'm very,
I'm very minimal to talk about it.
Right? Or no? Well, there's
a big problem. So we switch from Under Armour to
Nike, which I think is a good
move. Upgrade. It's good for
better for recruitment. But
Nike says
the color palette is
crimson red. So we
are switching from this like
dark red. If you're not watching
on YouTube, you're an idiot.
What we call Garnet.
Uh-huh. Uh-huh.
And it's the official Nike name of the color, right?
Like, I mean, I think if you ask a Gamecock fan, they'd still say, yeah, we're garnet and black.
But it is a definite color change.
And it's lighter.
I mean, it's Alabama.
It's the crimson red.
It's a crimson red.
So a lot of the diehard fan base is very upset about it.
I did not catch that because I looked at it and I was like, this looks the exact same as far as like stripes and logos.
I was like, what did they update?
Why are you upset?
Okay, but now that makes sense.
Yeah, no, I get that.
There was a big update.
Yeah.
Like, Nike can't just, like, come up with, like, you can go to Shul and Williams.
You sound like a Gamecock fan right now.
You sound like a GameCock fan right now.
I sympathize with that because, like, if you're going to, it's so simple.
I think there's a spot, a market opening up for Strength Coe to do the Gamecox uniforms.
Making them cast iron.
Titanham industry.
Cast iron helmets.
I think it'd be a game changer, really.
You don't talk about CTE.
Dude.
You really dial that up a notch.
That's a joke.
That's a joke.
I mean, I mean, I think it would be a very effective way of dialing up CTE.
Come on.
Yeah.
It's my thesis.
You can argue it, but it doesn't mean it's wrong.
Hey, they're getting paid now.
It doesn't matter what happens to their brains.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, man.
Okay, also in the college football vein.
This was one that Trey had last week.
So along the lines of uniforms also, a big uniform podcast.
We'll get into...
Big, huge, the biggest.
Yeah, it's just a pre-marine Corps regulations here in a minute.
But now, like, these...
It's just conferences, or is it...
Also, individual teams are, like, getting...
Individual teams, too.
...sponsors and now putting logos on their jerseys.
Like, I know Ohio State was, like, very nervous.
about their
The
Are they Chase?
Chase, but like
which is like blue and white
and like Ryan Day or whoever was like
I don't want a blue logo. It can't be blue
because Michigan and they're like oh just white
but I'm a red so much. And then they gave him
$40,000. Who am I was like I love blue?
Yeah, I love blue. My favorite color.
Yeah. I actually love Michigan.
But yeah, so what? The big 12s
just overall sponsor is monster.
Dude, I say
this. I remember when they posted this.
I texted Grant and I go, and I mean this with all sincerity.
I'm like, I feel like Grant could have come up with the funds, loans, beg, borrow, and steal, and sponsored the Big 12th.
So they're paying, it's $20 million a year.
Oh, which is like, sounds like a lot.
It's just one, one quarter.
A little bit, a little bit facetious.
I got BAH, man.
Yeah, we're good.
It's a little bit facetious.
but $20 million a year split between all the teams.
So each team is getting like a million,
a little over a million.
Okay.
I would have just done.
Whoop.
Well, I say that, but like I would.
Oh, Trey, what happened to you?
Okay.
Something happened.
You're back.
You disappeared.
You got real loud and now you're back.
Yeah.
It must be monster.
They heard that we were trapped on.
This recording will continue on a new track.
I mean, I think the, like, maybe not the Big 12, but now this, like, new Pact 12.
I feel like the Strick Go could get a foothold in there.
I feel like the Southern Conference.
Oh, yeah.
That's what I was about saying.
If you go to an FCS school and be like, hey, there's a million dollars.
I have a million dollars sitting around.
And it's in a suitcase.
It's a family heirloom.
Yeah, just bring it to them.
Yeah, I found it.
So I found this record inside of a piece of first.
furniture in the house that I live in from the 1780s.
It's from Jack White's Grant, great-great-grandfather.
And I sold it.
I have a million dollars.
Can I sponsor?
Yes.
But I guess I'd say this because...
Oh, you're being serious.
$20 million does not seem like a lot.
Like, for a billion dollar, it's...
College football is a billion dollar industry,
over a billion dollars.
And I'm like $20 million a year to sponsor the whole conference.
and what they get for it is the conference is now called Big 12 powered by Monster.
So whenever you say Big 12, you have to say.
They stole that from us.
Clearly listening to the podcast.
Your Stranko.
K.
Podcast is powered by the Stranko.
On all fields, you have to have the monster symbol and all basketball courts have to have the monster symbol.
There's a monster patch on every football.
I think I have enough money to sponsor the WMBA.
Oh, yeah.
twice over.
You actually, you don't, you can just sponsor the
Gamecox women's basketball team.
There we go.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah, that's what you should do, Grant, for your next business movie.
You should have sponsoring.
Yeah.
That'll make you rich, Grant.
Yeah.
That's what you're, that's, have you not thought about sponsorships, grant?
You should have the Citadel.
I wonder how much the Citadel would cost.
Yeah.
hit them up
call them right now
yeah
get Mr.
Citadel on the phone
yeah
I did look at
I looked at tickets
to the A&M
Citadel game
so
I imagine they're not
that expensive
uh
more than I like to pay
so
it'd be a great
well
that would be a great win
you'd never live it down
I think you'd actually
not never come back
on the podcast
I would
I would definitely quit
for sure
yeah
Yeah, maybe.
That would be worse than A&M losing to
App State.
I mean, App States, they're the real deal
now.
It's embarrassing. No reason it would be worse is because I would
have to hear you talk about it for the rest of my life.
I mean, you probably don't know any App State credits.
Yeah. That's why.
Yeah. Yeah.
We could probably connect with some. I can talk about that app state when.
That's fine. I know you have no
talking about that. It doesn't bother me.
We can put that down on the slides.
It comes on the pocket.
Hey, actually, we're a sponsor of App State now.
Yeah, no longer a Chapel Hill team.
I know too many Citadel people.
I think all four of y'all.
I would just have to hear Citadel nonsense.
Yeah.
See, we have some really cool chance.
Like C-I-T-A-D-E-L.
Are you probably saying at midnight?
Yeah, we sing it at midnight, yeah.
I write up for a bonfire.
Yeah.
too shit.
We call it a rebel yell.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Sounds fun.
But yeah,
no,
these patch heels are getting out of hand.
So I think Notre Dame signed one for,
I don't know.
With Catholics?
No,
it's like an AI firm or something like that.
I don't know.
I think everyone's an AI firm now.
That's right.
You know what?
You know what AI's not going to replace?
What's that?
Hoses.
I'd like to see him try.
Good.
luck. I did see an AI
Tray and I'm a big Gattice Center fan.
We're in anti-fragile
lines of work. Cast iron hoses, safe from AI.
I've always said that.
Never not.
That's why you got into those industries.
Yeah, that's right. Literally. I saw the AI
boom coming and I thought, you know what?
I'm not going to get ahead and make money an AI.
I'm going to find something that's invincible.
Playing the long game.
Man, a lot of talk about AI.
A lot of topics.
Let's see.
Give me that Bosu ball.
Okay, yeah.
Trey, you know what a Bosu ball is?
No idea.
Okay, well, okay.
Well, you explained it.
You have 100% seen one.
It's those like,
you explain it.
It's those, like, big inflatable, like,
balls that are at gyms, like.
Oh, big old balls.
You've seen them in gyms.
In the locker room,
you've been in there with the old guys.
Man, man, there's some guys in the locker room this week.
Quick segue sidebar.
No, they just, some dude, like, cleaned out his ears.
And then just left is like, oh, dude, that's kind of one of my top.
Cutics on the bench.
And I'm like, hey, are you, are you leaving?
He's like, yeah, I was like, you're going to leave that there?
And he was like, oh, yeah, I figured the staff.
clean it up. I was like, man,
I generally think that my elders
are much smarter than me, but I
currently do not think that. Yeah,
dude, come pick up your Q-tips.
Okay, that fits in well with another topic I put it.
The only topic I put in there, so I'm going to bring
it up now. But yeah, it's like people
people that just like,
and so this is one of the reasons why I
one of the things I miss dip about is like
you could like spit your, you know, if you had a little,
you pack a lip, just put that out in the urinal.
Like, that's all going to go down there.
But people who just like, they're like just spit their
Zinn out in the urinal or gum.
Gum of humanity.
And I'm like, who are these people?
Like, why are you?
What is happening?
Yeah.
So, urinals.
Zenz and urinals.
Just zins and urinals.
I stepped on, that's what we're learning about.
Gum today.
I was like, we just spits out gum in a parking lot.
I was like, okay.
That's where that goes.
The Air Force.
Yeah, clearly.
The Air Force.
Yeah.
Bosu balls.
Wait, both the balls.
Yeah.
Yes.
It's like a half-s-workout on it.
You might hear you call it a yoga ball, people who crunches on it a lot or just like.
Wait, is it the half-circle one or is it the full?
Half circle.
Junker-ball would be a full circle.
Okay.
I think I don't use either of them.
I might use a barbell.
No, you're big.
I don't know.
Strengths.
Strengths.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Actually, everyone should do both-sub ball workouts.
No.
I was in the gym just the other day, um, squatting.
And, you know, I'm in my power rack.
and I was doing some submaximal lifts, five sets of five on the squad, three minutes rest in between.
And so I have a video that we've linked before, you know, how to save time in the gym.
You should go watch that.
I'm a big proponent of a timer when you're working out.
If you're busy, if you got a lot of things to do, maybe you're in school, maybe you're a parent, whatever.
But you shouldn't waste time in the gym.
The gym should be an effective way to get strong.
and it should be efficient. It should be efficient.
So I was setting a three minute timer and I sat down and I just kind of look around and I see a lot of people doing silly things.
I see a lot of folks squatting. At least they're trying to do the right thing.
But you know, they're way above depth. They're way above parallel, which is unfortunate.
And I wish I had the time to coach them all.
But I don't, but I looked over and I saw a gentleman probably around seven years old.
Could have been 65. Could have been 75. I don't know.
But he has a Bosu ball, those half circle balls with a rubber bottom, set up in front of a mirror,
and he's in some really cool, you know, grandpa-type white new balance shoes, which I love.
And he is doing one-legged raise isometric holds, you know, with his hands out, like he's about to do the NFL combine.
And I'm watching him do it, and I just felt really bad for him.
And so I thought, man, here's a guy that clearly cares about his health.
He was not obese or overweight.
He didn't look particularly strong.
And you can look strong in your 70s.
You can look older, but you can also look like someone like, hey, that guy must, you know, lift weights.
And I'm not talking the, you know, TRT, RFK look.
I'm just talking about a person that looks capable of still doing stuff.
And this guy, you know, look kind of frail.
and he's doing this one-legged
both-two balls, isometric
holds. And I just thought, what a shame.
He clearly cares a lot about
his health and longevity,
probably because he cares about
I don't know, his wife, his kids,
whatever it is that, you know,
that motivates him.
He's spending the time in the gym
and he's doing something
that is a utter
and complete waste of time compared to barbell training.
Now, I'm sure there'll be some people
on the YouTube comments that say,
you know, bowsuit balls, isometric, it's good for this, that, whatever.
And I actually just think you're wrong.
I just think you're completely and totally wrong.
I think that if you are north of, I mean, I think for all ages,
but particularly if you are north of 50,
your best time spent in the gym is with a barbell.
And if you are a young person that is lifting,
you and you see these sorts of things or you know people that do these sorts of things,
you actually need to go spread the gospel, the barbell gospel, of how they can actually get strong
because they just do not know. I think that the current generation of, you know, 20s, 30s and 40s
year old folks, there's been a big emphasis on resistance training, strength training, powerlifting,
you've seen a boom, CrossFit helped a lot in that. And so there's more people from the 20 to 40s
that are using barbells.
But the older, I hate to say that,
but the older generation or demographic just has no clue.
And the real answer is, if you're listening to this,
and maybe you can send this video to your mom,
to your dad, to your uncle, to your grandfather, I don't know,
is as you age, you lose muscle mass.
You standing on one leg on a busu ball
is doing nothing to make that any better.
It's doing nothing.
We know that you have to have an increase in stress
in order for your body to recover and adapt to get stronger.
And we also know that if we are lifting to get stronger as we age,
as we get in our later years in life,
that how does the body function?
The body functions as a system.
The body does not function just the right quad doing some work,
unless you're doing one-legged bozo balls,
isometric holes with your right foot.
The body functions as a system as you move through
humanity, interact with your environment. As you walk around, your knee goes into flexion and extension
along with your hip, and that's what walking is. If you do that faster, putting more force against
the ground, now you are running. When you pick something up off the ground, whether it's with one hand or
two hands, you are using all of your joints and muscles together to achieve your goal. And so the most
intelligent way to get stronger is to train your body in the system in which it operates. And that
means to use your entire body at once.
And we are big proponents of starting strength.
I think it's the best program for a mom, a dad, a grandparent,
an aunt, and uncle, anyone that has,
even if they have workout background,
but they're reaching those years where they're starting
to see muscular atrophy, which means muscle loss.
And they're starting to be able to not do things
they shouldn't be able to do.
The best way to combat that is to train your whole body at once.
There's four movements that do that.
It's a squat, the press, the bench, press,
and the deadlift.
You learn how to do them correctly.
It's all laid out in the book, Starting Strength.
There's companies like the Strength Code that offer coaching,
whether in person or online,
to teach you how to do these movements.
And it's not rocket science.
You don't need to be scared.
It's not very difficult.
Someone can teach you how to lift over a few sessions.
Within four or five sessions, even if you've never touched a barbell,
you should be good enough to be able to run that program.
Now, will you be able to run it perfectly?
Does it coach help as you progress?
All of that stuff is true, but literally it's very basic stuff that we're teaching you.
And then you add a little bit of weight each time.
And that is a much better use case of your time in the gym than standing on a Bosu ball with one leg or, you know, doing whatever, even walking on the treadmill.
Again, that's not necessarily a bad activity.
But if your goal is the prevention of muscle loss or the acquisition of strength, which people can,
can do in their 70s and 80s and 90s.
I have a lady in the gym right now.
She's 97 and she's still deadlifting.
And she's still getting stronger.
You need to do the basic barbell lifts
and prevent muscular atrophy.
Hope this video helps if it does.
Like, subscribe to the channel.
We'll see you next time.
All right, back to the show.
Back to the show.
Okay, so don't discuss online coaching
and getting started with a coach.
Well, we can discuss that a little more conversational.
Okay, okay.
I was just saying, I don't know if you-
Which one was the video topic there?
I thought that was going to be this video topic and then I didn't see this.
You've touched on that before where it's like, I think you had some guy call you and wanted you to coach and you were like, man, like there's a starting strength guy this close to you like go see him first.
That almost happens every week and I don't say that to sound like a coaching powerhouse.
I mean, that happened twice this week where, you know, someone.
someone wanted coaching and people that want coaching they want it immediately right they're like hey
i want coaching and so we'll reply and you know we still have a real human being that replies it's not
all AI and we say um hey you live in indianapolis you should go to this gym and i still believe this
to be true actually tomorrow morning at nine o'clock i'll onboard a guy with online coaching but
what can be fixed in real time in person is so much better than what can be pitched in real time on Zoom
and exponentially better than what can be fixed in between sessions.
And so, you know, and again, I sell coaching for a living.
One of the things I sell, and I still think, if you're a good coach, you should coach yourself out of a job.
But you should, if you can go in person, go in person.
If you can't go in person, go on Zoom in real time.
And I'm not the only person that provides that.
But that is good.
Now I have to be good at oritating what you need to do.
Whereas if you're in person, particularly for the older folks,
I'm just like shoving you into a position.
You don't even know what's happening, right?
Like I'm just putting the bar where I want it,
physically maneuvering your thumbs where I want.
I'm getting, I'm literally taking my foot and kicking.
your foot out to you know fix your toe angle and then I'm telling you okay sit back
lean over and squat and queuing you but I'm I'm doing so many things that you don't even realize
happening and then it kind of builds that I hate the term but you know muscle memory and so you
keep forcing the person under it and then they just know how to do that part but yeah no I was just
dealing with some folks online and um happy to help them um want to help them
that's a big part of our business
but if you can go somewhere in person
and you also got a vet
is it the right person but there's enough
starting strength coaches
I think are good they're not the only people that are good
there's other great folks at CrossFit gyms
that you know other places
do the mechanics
but yeah if you can
go in person to start
and then online might be useful later
maybe it's a sense of community
like we have our Slack channel
maybe it's accountability
someone's putting my workout in.
There's a bunch of ways that online can help in the future.
But if you're literally, if you're watching, you know, the video and saying,
oh, man, I should get a coach and learn how to get strong.
If you can do that in person, it's much better.
True.
How long did it take you?
This is probably more of a science.
Whenever you started doing an online coaching.
Kind of an Ardena science, really.
Art and science of where you want the client to place the camera.
Like, so let's say you've...
Oh, yeah.
I mean, rear recorder is generally the best.
Did it take you a minute to figure that out or is it you're like,
or was it just from experience of like you taking yourself?
Yeah, I mean, I might have even learned that from Ripato.
But I mean, what I basically tell people,
it was kind of intuitive in terms of where do I want the camera.
I want the camera where I would stand.
Now, I would move if I'm coaching you in real time, right?
I might start at a rear quarter to look at the squat,
and then I see your right knees doing something weird.
And so I might walk to the front to, like, see what's going on.
Or your press may look back good from the rear,
but I think that something's off with your hand position
or your elbows are in front of the bar in the front.
So I'm going to move myself around.
But in general, 80% it's a rear quarter.
Rear front quarter is generally the best.
And then depending on what we're fixing,
I had a guy that I coach online, a newer guy, Orthodox priest, like eight kids in Greece.
And his bench looked pretty good, but I couldn't see where his elbows were on the bottom
because there's like the post of the rack and stuff.
And so say, hey, film your next one, you know, from the side, but slightly to the front, you know.
So sometimes to see particular things, you'll adjust it.
But no, I think once I got into Zoom, because I started doing the Zoom stuff,
fortunately blessed for us prior to you know March of 2020 and so we were kind of already already in
place anyway.
Yeah, no, well I say that just like if you're lifting and you're trying to critique your own
form, rear quarters is the best place to go in your store.
Yeah, well, I mean, yeah, rear quarters probably 80% of the time but like think about it.
If you are filming your squat, you want to see at a minimum, at a minimum.
them. Does my hip crease
go up in the low of my kneecap, right?
And then it's like, well, I also want to see
is my grip all jacked up, is the bar
sliding down my back? Am I like cranking
my shoulders up as I come out of the bottom?
And so rear quarter shows you
most of that stuff. Then you have people that have knee
valgus with the knees cave in.
You might want to look at that from the front, see what's
going on. Yeah.
Okay. Okay.
Good you know.
That's all I got to say.
Do we have a lifting update?
No, push.
Okay.
Next.
Okay.
Probably going to be the last slide.
We're running up against the drop dead time here.
Major.
Major.
Major.
Major.
Major.
Major.
Major.
Major.
Major.
Major.
Hey, bro.
Are you available this weekend?
Oh, brother.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I got a home brew going.
It's a new IPA.
It's got a 49,000 I'd use.
It's like, it's hoppy, but kind of
citrusy with some some some wheat notes in there um yeah i'm a bottle them this weekend oh brother
which means that they got a stay bottle before we can try them but i got but i got some uh
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah i'll tell the old ball and chie yeah yeah yeah i'll bring some i
i got some stogies i got some so i got some brother yeah bring some bring stogies yeah oh that'd
be great yeah you know we could do a pizza maybe like a i got one of those uh uni cookers you know
It's 900 degrees.
Yeah, bro.
I got a new pizza, like wooden.
Yeah, yeah, bro.
Yeah, it's good stuff.
Anyway.
Yeah, thanks, brother.
Once he'll pick up lieutenant colonel.
I remember as a lieutenant, there was like a mystique about like that rank.
It's going to be completely thrown out the window.
That happens every time you move up and rank.
Like when you're at TBS, you're like, oh, gosh, captains are the smartest, best
things ever and then you like
get to the fleet and then you become a captain
you're like how am I captain like
okay and then you're like major
oh gosh those guys they're
there are oh
I wonder if a general has that problem
probably
yeah I think so
yeah there is
it's definitely different so I'm in
I'm in at school you're in a few
we call them seminars
what do you guys call them cohort
Seminars, yeah.
We go out.
Seminars.
So, like, you're in one for one course, and it's like these 15 people.
Then you're in one for another course, and it's like these 15 people.
And so throughout the, each trimester, you're in three different courses.
And there's some overlap, but for the most part, you have, like, a different moderator and different thing.
So there's signal chats for all of them.
And so every time I get added to a signal chat, like, you know, seminar four, seminar 14,
I just go to class the next day
and then whatever's briefed
I just have Grant bot make a silly meme
and then I just drop it in
and my humor's not been well received
there's been a couple people that are like
oh yeah but like no and laugh I'm like
you guys are way too serious
oh man
what's wrong with you guys
by the way here's my link tree
check out the podcast
that was my
the Air Force has a good time.
That was always my peer review.
Chair Force.
Critique at TBS.
Doesn't take it seriously enough.
Takes nothing serious.
Takes nothing serious.
He will never lead a squad through Fex 3.
I'm like, aren't you rank like bottom of the class?
It means nothing, bro.
He'll never survive Mount Fex.
Never survive Mount Fex.
Oh, that's the laser tag game.
That was a lot of fun.
That was fun.
That was fun.
Going to smoke grenades.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I didn't get to do it.
I was the fires coordinator, so I didn't get to do it.
True artillery, man.
Look at you.
Let's write them up for St. Babs, Jeff.
Dude.
He's the fires coordinator for the world.
Fires coordinator at the.
Dude, I've got to be.
For the TBS.
Prior to becoming an artillery officer.
Oh, I heard you're a veteran of the TBS War of 2012.
Honestly, I bet we could spin it.
If we spun it right, we could get you to St.
Bavis medal.
I bet I bet sweet Pete would let you back in right now.
Oh, sweet Pete would die for you.
Come on.
Come on.
But join y'all reading Klauswitz.
You'd love it.
I think, I think, I think Jeff's done with Klauswitz.
Oh, no, we're never done.
We're never done.
You got, I don't know, five more weeks or something.
I don't know.
I'm a big book, okay.
Are you all reading it like sequentially?
Like you started, hey, you'll start a chapter one and now you're reading chapter two for this night.
And then tomorrow you read three and four.
You're bouncing around.
Yeah.
So I'm in one of the course I'm in right now is strategy in war, which is kind of like the historical thing.
So actually, our first discussion group for Klauswitz,
we've already talked about it in relation to the other courses I'm in,
but we haven't had the seminar four on war.
That's this Friday.
But they have like a reading guide.
So it's like read all of book one,
read chapters one through four and six through eight a book two.
Read all of book three.
So there's some guidance.
I don't use that.
term and the officer sense of vague guidance.
But there's some like, hey, have read this and, you know, be prepared to talk about this.
But no, like, I'm not reading it front to back.
I'm not.
I mean, there's a potential that maybe I would have, but just I just have time constraints.
So I'm trying to be a good student.
But it's I read all of chapter one, which I'd read at least with Klaus Woods.
I'd read it before at EWS.
So it's like read all chapter one, read all chapter two.
And then, I don't know, a couple days ago, whatever was next was like, you know, chapter, book three, chapters one through nine.
But Diana needed a break.
I needed to take my daughter on a walk.
So I threw it in Speech Five.
I was like, make a podcast, summarizing chapters one through nine.
Hit the high notes.
Hit the keep points, make it 20 minutes long.
And it's crazy, Trey.
The difference in what's available.
now compared to when we went to school. It's absolutely mind-boggling. I sound like a boomer.
But so what I did was I listened to it. So I'm obviously not taking any notes. I'm like walking my kid around in a car.
And then I came back and kind of did like the scan first, you know, paragraph, last paragraph.
And then like wrote down some stuff. So I had so I had notes. But yeah, I'm not like,
it's not like I read the Bible every day, you know, which is start Genesis 1-1.
in in Revelation. It's much different.
Very well. That's a joke.
Interesting.
Is it
I guess outside of Croswitz,
are the topics that are discussing? I know we've
kind of touched on it. Has there been anything good
since we last talked?
I'll let Jeff.
As far as interesting.
God, I'm trying to like think what did we talk
about last week. We like
wrapped up our initial
initial
military
theory, like, part. So now we're
getting into like the specific domains.
So we just hit like the land domain.
And so like we're talking about how like terrain influences things.
So it gets pretty more closowitz and a lot of it's like,
Sun to Zoom.
Yeah.
Like big focus on like World War I because there's a lot of parallels between like the technology that like
fast had changed the way that war got fought.
And then kind of what we're experiencing now with like AI and robotics.
And so then, like, you know, they're touching on a lot of that stuff.
So like really like, yeah.
So they're looking at how like the tank and like the machine gun and all this stuff like totally, you know,
revolutionized the way they had to like fight the war compared to the start to the end.
We did like a little war game thing.
So like I'm, you know, it's all Air Force people and then me and a soldier and the soldier
guys like a cyber guy.
So they're all like, who are doing this war game and they're like,
Jeff, what should we do here?
And I'm like, I don't know.
I'm an artillery guy.
Like, I kind of know some infantry stuff.
Let me, but like, just kind of like, let me talk to you about defense and depth and like.
But it was good.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I found it mostly entertaining.
And I think there's some of the trimesters that are supposed to be, I think.
But the one I'm currently supposed to have the most reading.
Some are supposed to be harder.
But, no, I mean, the AI.
So here's my problem.
with the AI stuff. I think that the Naval War College, Secretary of War, who's
probably coming down from, Secretary of Navy, they're definitely making a point like, hey,
you need to be smart on AI and drones, like you have to be, you know, for the future, which
I appreciate. But at the same time, I kind of think, man, we're, like, we're just talking
about this like ad nauseum. And we don't really know, you know, what the, we don't know what the next
more looks like with the development of AI and the way you can you know get you know so so there it's
it's a lot of talk about which I think is good um but it's I don't know we're so being very
experts in the field yeah even when there's experts in the field I'm like well are you an expert
in field are you a real expert yeah how can you be how can you be we haven't we haven't
implemented this like yeah like this is this is it's it's all theory it's all no no no
a joint doctrine three tax zero from the air force and it's like well yeah but even that is
theory of you know how all this is implemented so um but no it's all i think it's all interesting
i mean there's a lot of history which is always interesting um and the current event stuff is interesting
but i think i think you get bogged down too it's it's like you know there's a lot of like
this is what's happening in Ukraine.
And it's applicable everywhere,
but it's also not applicable everywhere.
Yes.
Right?
So there's a lot of like,
this is what is happening.
So,
but no,
I mean,
I have,
I mean,
Klauswitz is kind of tough to read.
But I haven't had any topic,
discussion question,
you know,
prep for a seminar where I'm like,
this is stupid,
right?
It's not like,
yeah,
not the enlightenment in English class, you know.
It's a joke.
Yeah, everything's, everything's interesting.
In my opinion, everything's interesting.
So first of you.
Yeah, and it's, I think we said this last week,
but I always want to read more.
I always want to read more history,
but I just never get around to it.
And now it's like, you know, you're doing it.
So I have, what, do you know your topics for your papers like this semester, Jeff?
Our first one was like discussing, they gave us this article.
on Russia, Ukraine and kind of like the current situation.
And they were like, hey, use this article as kind of your background.
They didn't want to turn it into like a research paper on Russia and Ukraine.
They're like, hey, this is something your only source document.
But now like how would military theorists from the past, like foundational military theorists like critique or, you know, applaud how Russia is conducting the war?
And then the other one, we did like, there's an ethical.
the cold dilemma. So, our, like, our leadership and professional arms.
There's like, hey, pick one of these five scenarios, talk through, like, what ethical
frameworks are major, trying to get some extra dumpsters.
Yeah. Whether or not, they're actually on the books or off the books.
Then our other one is...
But do you have, like, a couple, like, capstones, so to speak, or, like, major?
So we've also done those sorts of things, but, like, I have one on Vietnam and I have
one on World War I. Those are, like, my two...
Okay.
That'll happen between now and November.
Okay.
Why don't you?
I've started neither of them because I'm just trying to keep my head above water.
But those are like my two.
We've got like our, so our, we have a project for,
where we're like breaking down, like analyzing a problem for like our leadership
and develop our leadership class.
And then like the military theory one, we're doing a group project on.
So using MCDP one.
as like a framework like since four fighting so like the air forces a f good book a dp one
has like a paragraph basically about like war fighting and they're like hey right essentially
the equivalent of mcdp tech one for the air force since like the air force doesn't have that
so there's like they throw this out there and like i'm sure they've been doing this exercise for years
and noance but they're like well if you do a good job like the you could be the place that you know
does all the doctrine is like on maxwell so like maybe this will influence them and it's like i'm
sure it won't but yeah yeah no i will let's send the okay podcast just a bunch of majors you know
yeah i need to upload all the okay podcast episodes into speechify and ask for a 122 episode
summary just give me a 20 minutes summary turn this into a good podcast
Auburn. Auburn.
Yeah. Save rounds,
alibis, hung ordinance.
Nothing for the group.

Hey.
Don't do that.
That's not nice, dude.
Yeah, I got to go.
at some point. There's fishing up here.
You ought to go.
Yeah. I'm kind of my...
You know, you've located for being like a novice.
Would you consider yourself a novice fisherman?
I would have fished.
You have fished quite a bit of the United States.
Yeah, that's true, actually.
Yeah.
Like you...
I actually don't know if I think I'm a novice
because in my definition,
novice means you get better every single time.
There, yeah.
But what the guy is.
I used to tell me who we had on the show, John Connett,
so it's one of the most popular episodes.
There were 3,000 downloads.
If you haven't listened to it, go back.
If you live in the North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina,
region within three, four hours, you need to go higher,
hares ear fly fishing.
But I remember he told me, I said something about, yeah, my brother was coming fish.
He said, well, he's been fly fish for 15 years.
He said, you know, that means a lot of things to a lot of people.
And I said, what do you mean?
And he goes, well, guys will tell you they've been fly fishing for 15 years.
And they go twice a year.
and he's like you've been going every Tuesday for nine months and he's like and I'm not saying you're
good you suck he's like but when a guy tells you he's been fly fishing for 15 years and I mean it's
very true right I mean the last 24 months since his bell is born I've been like six times
whereas in like 23 and 24 I probably went 60 times yeah but yeah no I have gotten
I have gotten Southeast California.
Right.
I guess I say,
like you're relatively new compared to like,
oh,
100%.
You know,
I'm terrible.
Like,
yeah,
yeah.
But like for being so new to fly fishing,
you've,
yeah,
you fish like,
are you fish in Utah yet?
No.
Not yet.
Not yet.
I get you out there.
Yeah,
it's gone.
But yeah,
