Coming up.
Proximaente.
Ladies, get ready to get entertained.
I was hoping for a bit of magic, Mike.
We end up in NAA with broken backs, you know?
We have certain age.
We have fathers, yeah?
I was listening to that in high school,
which is appalling, really.
It tells me a lot about you.
Everyone should invest in a tongue scraper.
Welcome to my life, Gemma.
But what are you going to do if I meet my woman Peter in when they're older?
I'll move out.
I cycle home, and he slammed the...
car boot and then about five minutes later I get a phone call I'm in an Uber with the
bike I will see you at home here we are another episode of Lost in Translation with Gemma

of Lost in Translation.
They're very fun, very chaotic,
hopefully normal to some people,
podcast, hopefully relatable podcast.
No judgmental.
No, we listen and we don't judge.
But thank you for listening.
If you're new to us, welcome.
If you're old to us,
Thank you for sticking with us all this time.
It's almost our one-year birthday.
Nice.
Yeah.
Not long to go, is it?
Very nice.
But how have you been, Gorks?
Let's have a catch-up.
We can't ignore the elephant in the room
in that someone is going to be putting his dancing shoes on again.
Another tour.
Another tour.
It's like DJ Carly, another one.
And another one.
You know?
So we told of the viewers last week that you've got your Christmas show coming.
And this week you've announced, Here Come the Boys.
Yeah.
Here come the boys
Ladies get ready
To get entertained
Ladies and gentlemen
Yes
Everybody
Last time you did
Children everybody
I wouldn't have children there would you
Can you have children?
It's a family show
You know what you think you are
I'm Mike or what
Can you see me and J
Me and Ali are doing the
The Rolly
I was hoping for a bit of magic Mike
We would end up in NAA with broken backs
You know
We have certain age
We have fathers yeah
But last time you did it
Mia was two days old
once you, do you remember?
Me, I was born at the same time
that I was doing, Here Come the Boys.
He was on tour with Here Come the Boys
when I went into Labor.
But thankfully, you were only in Liverpool.
So you drove to the hospital.
I did.
And got lost because the motorway got shot.
Yeah, the motorway was closed.
My ward was broke in the bathroom.
And I was like, oh my gosh,
he's about to go on stage.
What do I do?
And I said to my mum, do I message him?
Because technically it could be a while and this and that.
And my mom said, what do you mean?
Cause it's his first child as well.
he'll want to be then.
I was like, forget about me then.
I remember we were all on standby.
Yeah, I messaged you and said,
I know this is really inconvenient,
but she's decided she's ready.
Yeah, she wanted to perform.
Yeah.
And then I sent you a picture, didn't her?
Because the amount of water that came out of me.
It was the Niagara Falls.
Yeah, you see it in films,
and I thought it would never be like that, surely.
But it was for me.
Yeah, some films are like even more.
Anyway, without further ado,
Bounos!
I have a funny story.
that I want to like mention and share with you guys listeners.
Okay.
Because it didn't happen to me.
So I find it hilarious, you know?
So, and this shows how different we are.
I will explain you the difference, yeah?
She's already laughing.
So...
I know what you're going to say.
This morning, we were rushing like almost every day to go to school because Tiago loves to
sleep, yeah?
And she doesn't want to wear him up.
She's like, oh, let him sleep.
But sometimes we have to wear him up anyway.
We go all dressed and...
Jemma's car didn't have petrol, so she decided to run in my one
because she was not time to go to the petrol station and put petrol in her car.
So she was like, I go on yours.
Okay.
What happens is the night before, she went to walk Benji in my car too.
So she put her phone in her car connected to the car,
and she had her music, you know, like you do when you're in the car.
What happens is the car connects automatically once you turn it on and plays the music.
What happened is the volume was like full power.
Always.
The song that actually was listened to was Little Kim, How Many Licks?
You'd like Little Kim back in the day?
I don't.
Gemma, I would only like this music if I have three drinks and man on a nightclub on my 20s,
which that is not going to happen to off than now anymore.
I listen to that music.
All the time.
I was listening to that in high school, which is appalling really.
It tells me a lot about you.
I actually have the specific part of the song was playing, yeah.
Have in mind, the kids were in the car, bells on.
sat on the red seats.
I was on the front with my coffee.
I was about to leave the house.
And this is where it came up, yeah?
What are you going to do?
Like, just read it?
Yeah.
Because it's quite rude to play.
Yes, I'm going to read it.
This verse goes out to my...
Ooh, I cannot say that word.
This verse goes to my pee in jail.
Bitting the...
To the double...
Uh-huh.
In the aquigreen...
...face...
...face dropped.
And Mia went like, ha ha ha.
Yeah.
And it went, I just went,
but it's because it was connected instantly.
Yeah, and I were like,
how different is our mornings, you know?
When I take Mia to school,
Mia goes, Papa, can you change the music with my music?
This is the music, the place, when I take Mia to school.
Very different.
Very lost in translation.
That's why we're a good match.
So, apart from me listening to music about getting hard,
and tongs in other places.
You do that very often, to be honest.
There you go.
Has anything else annoyed you about me this week?
I mean that didn't annoy me at all
No, you found it funny
That made me laugh a lot
You did laugh a lot
Because it was like, your face was just like a poem
Yeah
I'm trying to think if you've done anything this week
Oh yeah
Yeah you have
Probably, I do it with her
And guess what it involves?
What?
His bike
The other bike
The other bike
I had to know
We went for lunch in Manchester
The four of us went for pizza
And it was so, so nice
and we got there half an hour early
than when the table was booked
because on the way back from the pizza
we were having to nip into the bike shop
to pick up Barker's bike
Barkers Bakers, Barker's Bakers
To pick up Gorker's bike
because it was ready
So with that in mind
Because Gorker's got a much bigger car than me
I said well let's go in your car
So let's go in your car
so that the bike can get in
So we said perfect we'll do that
We went there really
because the bike shop closes at 5
so we had to go for lunch earlier.
No problem, it was lovely.
We drove to the bike shop.
You jumped out to get the bike.
I went and parked the car with the kids.
You then rung me and said,
I'm going to be about 15 minutes.
Wasn't my four Lizzie cars.
I said, oh, don't worry about it.
I said, I'll take them.
We didn't have dessert at the restaurant,
so I said, don't worry,
I'll walk and get a cookie with them.
So I paid for parking for half an hour
because I thought it'd probably be half an hour,
not 15 minutes.
Went and got the cookies,
came back to the car.
two minutes left on the timer, still not heard from him.
So I paid again for another half an hour.
So I paid for an hour's parking in the city centre.
He finally comes out of the bike shop after about 45, 50 minutes.
And he comes, opens the boot all proud.
He even held it up and he went, look, look at this now, my new bike.
I was like, yeah, it's nice, nice, let's go.
I've been in the car with the kids, we need to get off.
He opens the boot and he says to me,
Tiago's car seats on the wrong side.
Can when you move his car seat, the seed don't go down.
So I was like, okay.
So I lifted his car seat out, walk around the car, put his car seat in the other side,
strapped him in, all good.
I said, right, you can push it now.
And then he goes to push it and he says, oh, no, sorry, he was the right place.
Sorry.
So we got it completely right.
So I'm like this going, don't argue with him because it's been his birthday weekend.
He needs to enjoy it.
So I said, I'm really sorry, Tiago.
I said, can you move back to where you were sat?
Tiago says, no, I want to sit here.
I said move back to where you're at sight now.
So we moved Tiago once again to the other side.
And any adult who's messed with a car seat
will know the stress of a car.
It's not that difficult like a car seat.
It's awful.
Put him in again.
We put the right seats down.
You go to put the bike in.
And it doesn't fit.
It will not fit.
It didn't fit because I didn't take the wheels off.
I could have took the wheels off,
but I didn't want to take the wheels off because it's just a hassle.
and I have to take the wheels to put it back in
and it fits when the kids
were there.
So my option was like,
tell you to go on an Uber with the kids
so I could put the bike.
But I was like, you know what?
I'm just going to get an Uber myself.
But you said to me,
you said,
try and help me, Jama.
So I did.
I pulled the wheel,
but the handle bar
was marking the top of the car.
And you were saying,
look at the car now,
look.
And I said,
Gorka, this,
we're doing this for you.
I had no desire
to sit in Manchester City Centre
for an hour
with the kids eating cookies
after we've just had a meal.
We've done this for you.
In the end, he pulled the bike out.
And he goes, I cycle home.
And he slammed the car boot.
So I said, fine.
And then I got in the car.
And as we were going past you, I said, you've no helmet.
It's illegal.
And you went, no, it's not.
I said, you can't go on the road without a helmet.
But I drove off.
I thought, bollocks to him.
And then about five minutes later, I get a phone call.
I'm in an Uber with the bike.
I will see you at home.
And then Mia's at it.
Where's Papa?
And I actually said, do you know what, Mia?
I said, at this point, I don't care.
I don't care where he's.
I said, I just want to get you and your brother home and relax.
I was there before her.
And then he got home before us.
No keys.
Because he'd stormed off, he didn't have his keys.
So what did I do on the way home?
Stopped at M&S.
Stop myself at M&S.
I did a shop with the kids, which we did plan to do.
And then it started raining and he messaged me and said,
I'm sat in the garden.
Are you nearly here?
So that's my annoyance for you today.
But the bike is beautiful.
You know, they was repainted.
It was stunning.
It was like something out of love.
comedy sketch, wasn't it?
To be honest, if I would have taken the front wheel off,
I would have fit, but I didn't have the Alan key,
and it's just a pain sometimes, you know,
it's just, and it's new, so I didn't want to,
like, you know, sometimes you scratch it,
and I was like, nah, I just cycle,
but the problem was I didn't have my proper pants,
and my bum was hurting on the seat.
I could have just dropped him at the shop and said,
see you at home.
So nice, that's the only thing that bothers you about me.
Yes.
It could be worse, you know.
Could be a lot worse.
Yeah, so there we go.
But yeah, if anyone's had anything similar happen with...
I mean, with bikes, you happen to the time.
Partners and their obsessive things.
Lots of people, like, I was speaking to one of the school dads the other day,
and he started fishing.
And I thought, all that, it was Ricky, he was telling me he started fishing.
And I thought, I bet Nat's going to be thinking,
and I've got fishing rods in the garage.
Do you know what I mean?
Fishing, no, I just, I don't know, it's like,
I find it boring, especially here, you're fishing,
but you have to learn that.
It's the way we went to this place,
and there was people fishing.
I was like, what they do with the fish?
oh, they throw it back on the pong.
And I was like, what's the point?
I know, it's awful.
I go fishing on the river or on the sea
because I want to eat the fish.
He's going to say it's proper snide on the fish
to take it out.
To throw it back.
I'll look at it and then throw it back.
Also, because this, the hooks
can rid the mouth and everything
and then can die actually.
So it's dangerous.
But it'd be like someone
putting your head underwater,
having a look at you
and then pulling you back out,
you'd be like, what's that for?
What's happened?
I mean, yeah, sure.
Should we...
We had an example, but...
Should we read some lovely messages from our listeners?
Oh, I love messages, yeah. Come on then.
If you do want to get in touch, by the way, and send your messages in, you can do.
You can WhatsApp us on O'Dable 7-103-989-98, or you can email us.
It's lost in translation at bowermedia.com.
Or gore we'll give you to social media because that's the only one he knows.
Lost.org.com.
Lost.org.com.
Did you write?
Yeah.
So why you repeated then?
Just did it slower.
We've had lovely messages in.
Do you want to start?
Gemma, can I read this one?
Yeah.
Are you sure?
Can I read it?
Go for it.
I'm trying to do it, yeah.
Here we go.
So, it's the one of Amy on YouTube in response to Uncle Clive's taking Gemma to watch South Park.
Oh, Uncle Clive.
I thought Ted and Sausage Party were Innocent Children's Films.
How Ron I was.
Oh, wow.
Ted and Sausage Party is worse than South Park.
Yes, sausage party I watched that one.
It was horrible.
Yeah.
You were like really upset with that.
Unconforably, but.
Feeling like, yeah, not good.
Carl on YouTube has got in touch,
and this is in response to the masculine and feminine words
we were talking about in Spanish.
And she says, I speak Punjabi.
And in our language, there is masculine and feminine word endings.
She said, we also have specific titles for relatives
based on who they are and how they are related to you.
She says, it seems very confusing, but it makes sense to her.
Oh, that's interesting.
So depending on if it's your mom or your cousin,
whatever, you'd have a different
title for them in Punjabi.
Interesting.
Poonam spoke Punjabi, did she?
Yes, I think so, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nikita, that was it.
Nikita, for sure.
Yeah, it sounds lovely when it's spoken
when it's like spoken properly.
And when we did with Poonam,
we did the Boliv number
and they used to speak with the teachers, yeah.
Yeah, it does.
It sounds lovely when it's done.
The last one.
Do you want to read Jenny?
Yeah, so says,
Hi, German Gogs.
On a recent episode of the
poor, Gemma said that you should never put perfume on your skin and put it on the end of your
hair instead. Always. Five years ago, for my 40th, I was bought a job alone perfume after commenting
how nice a smell on someone else. I start to use it, but the smell of myself always made me feel
sick. So it's been in my drawer ever since. After hearing Gemma saying she put it on her hair,
I did this. And, and...
Lo and behold, it means... And lo and behold, no longer feel sick when wearing it.
well you know what
that happens a lot
sometimes you smell a perfume on someone
and then you go oh I love it
but then you put it on you and not
or the opposite
it's also to be with your hormones
and your pheromones and everything
yeah but you should always put it on the ends of your hair
on your clothes anyway
well I put it
and I walk through it
and you walk through it
so it's like a little life hack
we have got quite a few life hacks
aren't we
is that why your hair always
smell nice but you don't
yeah yeah
no I will never put perfume
I used to
in advertisements
See, put it on your glands here and your wrists.
Yeah, but it's just, it's not good for you.
I do this.
End of your hair and your clothes.
I put it in my hands sometimes and I do like this also, like that, on the hair.
Another life hack I have is, and I'm not anti-medicine before anyone comes to me.
There's a time and place for medicine, and after my C-section, boy, did I need medicine.
But since then, touch wood, you and my mom always got it me,
because I don't like taking paracetamol, norophane, anything like that.
I can't remember the last time I took medicine for anything
because I always try first the natural root.
And the other week I was feeling a little bit run down.
And if you get yourself either nettle tea or green tea,
just a tea bag,
and stew it for like two, three minutes in your cup.
So boiling water and let it settle.
You get yourself some turmeric, teaspoon of turmeric,
honey to sweeten it a little bit,
and a squeeze of lemon and mix all that up.
You have cayenne pepper also.
Yeah, if you want the cayenne pepper.
You need cayenne pep and to activate the tumour if no doesn't work.
It's great for inflammation.
So the turmeric, cay and pepper inflammation, that's like having your anti-inflammatory.
The nettle tea or the green tea, full of antioxidants to boost your immune.
The honey, again, great for immune.
The lemon's just for taste.
But you drink it, have three a day if you're feeling a little bit run down.
It works wonders, doesn't it?
literally it's perfect.
And if the kids are ill,
Gawker it stinks in the morning,
don't it?
But I always cut a raw onion,
a red onion,
cut it in half,
whack it under their bed
and it absorbs all the toxins
and everything.
My mum used to do that.
Yeah.
My nanny used to put onion
in a pair of tights
and hang it over our bed if we were real.
So when you put the garlic on the food
and then rally around for the kids.
Yeah?
I bought myself a while ago,
didn't I?
The holistic medicine book.
Yeah.
And at the start,
Gok was like, oh, what is this?
And it's any type of, anything you have,
there's ancient remedies and recipes
using nature that goes back
hundreds and hundreds of years.
And at first you were like,
because it's proper spinal book, isn't it?
Mia calls it a magic cookbook.
But there was a recipe the other day
for your skin and your nails
and it was like the red, the red pepper
and the tomatoes. And Mia,
Mia said, I want this papa and you made it.
She just, she did wonder because she was pasted out
tomato sauce.
Yeah, but it wasn't just that.
You made it.
It was the nicest pasta.
Yeah, but I didn't make the recipe.
I actually look at the recipe and then I changed it and then I changed it.
So that's what probably was nice.
I must say, you know.
I look at it and I said, yeah, I said, Mia.
I'm going to do similar and do my own things.
Yeah, yeah, no problem.
So it was lovely.
Yeah.
The chicken wasn't in there, you know, in the pasta.
So, but I loved it.
And another one more life hack that I was told to do years and years ago invest.
They're not expensive.
at all. Everyone should invest
in a tongue scraper.
And first thing in the morning, scrape
your tongue, you will be repulsed
at what comes off it. Because a lot of
people don't brush the teeth till after breakfast, which I
totally get. Why would you brush your teeth and then eat
and then, do you know what I mean? But in the morning,
if you scrape your tongue,
all the bacterian stuff, and then if you
want to do oil pulling, you can do,
where you just put some olive oil
and spit it out. But the tongue
scraper,
you should always do it. Welcome to my live, Gemma.
It's very interesting
You remember
Teago was only about
He'd just turned two
And he got a bad cold
It was when he started nursery
Because obviously they'd pick everything up
And my mum came around to check on him
And she walked in
And he was lay on the couch like this
And he had socks on with garlic
At the bottom of his feet
He had a humidifier next to him
With a eucalyptus soil
And he had natural eucalyptus on his test
And he was like this
And he went
That's my mum
And I'm so, what the bloody hell you're doing?
Give him some carpal.
I said, just let this sink in first.
Woke up the next day, right as rain.
Literally right as rain.
So if you have any other life hacks or like remedies, things like that,
please message us, let us know, you know, because maybe someone listen.
Yeah, it's different in different cultures.
It's well good because dad shots olive oil every morning and he swears by it.
So if, yeah, if you have a different, any tips and tricks like that,
please do get in touch because I'm obsessed with any.
anything like that.
Like literally.
0-7-6103-9-8.
I'm laughing.
Do you remember that thing on Instagram,
that man when he walks in and he goes,
there's a man who pretends to be his wife
and he does every day my wife for no reason.
Oh, yeah.
And Gawker said it was me.
He walked in and he said to his wife,
just so you know,
today's the best day for meditation
because it was the moon, on it?
And Gorka said to me,
this is living with you.
Honestly.
Every day.
But thank you for those lovely messages.
Thank you to Jenny, Amy and Cal.
Thank you very much.
Should we move into the dilemma?
Let's do the dilemma.
So this week's dilemma comes from Mav.
Oh, what matters if it's Maverick?
Maverick and Goose.
Hi, Gemma and Gawker.
Hey, it is.
Mav here short for Maverick.
Oh, look at you.
So chuffed.
Maverick.
My partner, Rob and I.
Rob.
Maybe for Roberto.
Roberto.
Roberto.
Oh.
Maverick and Rob.
What a like power couple.
My partner Rob and I have his mum living with us.
It was actually my decision for her to move in
because she's recently retired and we were rented, and she was renting.
You hear that mum, shuffle mother, eh?
I wanted to help her out, that's kind.
She's been living with us for about a year and a half now.
At first, everything was great, but over time things have become very difficult.
She doesn't clean up after herself, she leaves food out on the side,
she leaves her incontinence pads lying around the house
and constantly feeds our dog's human food
even though we've explained countless times
why she shouldn't she just ignores what I say
I feel like she sees me as just Rob's boyfriend
so she doesn't think she has to listen to me
Rob and I have been together for five years
and have lived together for two we don't have children
just our two dogs Henry and Harley
and our three cats wow
so you do have kids practically
three cats and two dogs is a handful
We both work full time
So when we come home
We'd love the house to be how we left it
Instead it honestly looks like a football team of kids
Have been there
How do I approach this without causing a massive argument
How can I get his mum to respect me
And the boundaries we've put in place
I'd really appreciate any advice
Because it's starting to put a strain on the home
P-S Henry and Harley say
Woof-WF to Benji
Also both of our dogs sleep on the bed
Yes, so I'm definitely Team Gemma on that one
Dogs absolutely belong on the bed
And thank you both for making our Wednesdays
Enjoyable
Well, Maverick, I was going to support you and try to give you advice
You know, after you said that the dogs sleep in the bed
Look at the dogs, Harley's the Cockapoo and Henry is the German Shepherd
Oh, look at these dogs
I'm going to show everyone
The house looks quite neat anyway from the background
You know, to me looks quite neat in the background
It's a tough one, thoughts on this
With parents moving it, I would love nothing more than my mum and Peter living with us
Gorker couldn't think of anything worse
Correct
In my dream scenario
them, not even my parents.
Yeah.
I mean, I could think of even nothing worse.
When my mom and dad came to visit after one day, I was like, can you just go back?
Yeah.
It does get a lot when they're under your feet.
And it's the fact that you've had her stay there from a goodness of your heart because
you didn't want her to, you know, you wanted to make life easier for her.
And it feels like she's now maybe taken advantage of that.
But I don't know her age.
But from my experience, the older people in my family, like bless me,
Antieta and Enche Sheila, they're no longer with us.
But when they were, they didn't give shit about what they did or who they offended.
I don't know if it's something that just happens when you get older.
Or is she doing it on purpose or could it be something that she's forgetting to do?
Probably, yeah, also.
If it's putting trouble on the relationship, it has to be nipped in the bud.
He should told him.
Mavre needs to tell Rob.
Mav needs to say to Rob, listen.
Yeah.
It's really getting to me now.
Can you have a word with your mom, you know?
Yeah.
So I mean, I will tell you that.
If you've only been living together for two years
and for a year and a half that's been with his mum,
you've put in a really good shift there, Matt.
Yeah.
But also Rob's in a sticky position
because to have to choose between your partner and your mum would be awful.
No, it's not choosing.
It's just, I will go, I'm like, Mom, it's my house.
Remember that, don't do this things.
You know what I mean?
Still.
It's not he's telling, choose your mom or me.
He's saying, like, it's our house, you know?
And it's fine, but, you know,
Don't leave. Can you tell you mom to maybe don't leave?
Because maybe if he says there, the man will get upset.
Like, oh, your boyfriend has telling me this, you know?
You could just say, you know, and it's not just, oh, it's just Rob's boyfriend.
You know, she needs to know you're Rob's partner and hopefully a life partner.
Yeah.
And so the decisions you make are joint decisions and it's your home.
And you can't exactly say to a ship up or ship out, but you could say you've done a year
and a half now if things don't change we're not we're not comfortable in our own house there's
nothing worse with being uncomfortable in your own home i particularly will go and speak to rob and say listen
i feel this way i think we should maybe have a word like not even just go here maybe like i don't want to
say to your mom i will go jem i don't want to tell your mom this because i'm a need can we just
sat down with your mom and have the conversation all together so then it's all together you know and find
the best way i will do that yeah the whole thing you could say we're more than happy for you to stay living
with us but we are going to have to put some rules in place in terms of how we want our house
to be run and how we want to feel when we come on from work. We want this, this and this. Can you
accept that? If she says yes, brilliant. If she says no, you say, okay, well let's help you find
somewhere else that you can rent then, a little bit cheaper than what you were paying. And then
everyone's happy. Yeah. But what are you going to do if I move with my woman Peter in when they're older?
I move out. No, would you really? Yes. I can't.
I'd bear the thought of putting my mum and Peter in a home.
Just get a home next to ours.
My grandma and granddad were in homes and my nana was.
And some of them were fantastic.
Some of them weren't.
I don't like it.
I always said to my mum and dad,
especially to my dad's like,
I'll take care of you when you get older.
I'm not moving with you or you move in my house,
but I'll make sure you live in a nice place
with people taking care of you and I'll go and visit you.
But I won't have you in my house.
It's hard because like with my nana and granddad,
we had to,
we moved homes for them.
They were,
I say we, it was my mum and Antonoma did it.
So the first home they were in, because my granddad had a stroke, he couldn't speak.
And my nana had severe dementia.
So bless her, she didn't know what was going on anyway.
She was just happy in her own life.
But we'd sometimes go, and we'd say to them, as my granddad,
as granddad had been changed, and they'd say, yeah.
And we'd go in his room, and he'd be sat crying.
Yeah.
And he couldn't tell us.
And we'd have to say, have you been changed, granddad?
And he'd be sat in wet.
And I think, oh, but then we moved him to another care home.
and they were brilliant, they were brilliant with him,
couldn't do enough for him.
So my fear would be with my mum and Peter,
I'd much rather just say,
come and stay with us than I know the fed watered.
Yeah, but that doesn't mean they come to stay with you
means that you're going to have the time for that.
Do you mean?
Like, you're going to sleep having to go to work and everything.
So, yeah, they're going to be in your house,
but you're going to have to have someone looking after them.
Because when you go work,
or imagine they're in the house and I'm on tour,
who's going to be looking after them?
It's like your mum with the old man.
Your mum used to look after her.
My mum did at the one point that she couldn't do anymore.
So she had someone coming to the house to help her.
Yeah.
Because she was still does work full time.
And in between that, she looked after her.
Like, was he just a family friend or?
Yeah, it's like my granddad.
Yeah, he was really, really old.
We went round once, you introduced me to him.
And he was sat there with his little crisps and his little alcohol, his little whiskey.
But your mum was doing, she used to put him to bed.
bed, getting dressed.
Everything, yeah.
She used to wipe him.
Well, you do?
Yeah.
We might have to do that for each other one day.
Oh, I don't mind you'd wipe him, me.
Oh.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, please let us know how you go on, Mav.
Let us know what happens.
I would love, genuinely would love the outcome of that
because it's a tricky one.
Oh, what?
The wipe, or what?
No, the situation.
Yeah, I think you should have sat down.
Lovely dinner.
A cup of tea, you know?
But his mum should, she should respect you all.
home, your boundaries. It'd be different if
you'd all bought it together.
That's different, but it's your space.
So, I would the three of you, speak to
Rob and just say,
this is how I'm feeling. Are you happy for us to have
a chat with your mum altogether?
Put the rules in place. If she sticks to them great,
if she doesn't, she needs to move.
I mean, don't be so dramatic, you know? Maybe just
find a way, you know?
Wow, he's tried for a year and a half.
I'll say the same as young and your mom and dad, and Peter,
I'm on to have, like,
you'll come on one day and the whole gym would be gone,
it'll just be beds in there and a little kitchen area.
I'm fine, I move out, I told you, I don't have a problem.
If you want to mean, I'll go out.
If you've got any advice for them,
we've never had in touch around.
I think if you've ever had a guest who stayed the welcome with us?
I don't think we have, have we?
What do you mean?
Like, if we've invited someone around
and they've stayed for three or four days instead of just one or...
No, no, no.
We're quite good, aren't we?
We start hoovering at the end of parties and stuff
when we want people to go home.
Start cleaning up.
Uncle Clive is,
comes for one day and it's in for the weekend.
Yeah, Uncle Clive does,
but I always invite him.
The kids love it when Uncle Clive sleeps.
Uncle Clive comes for a coffee
and it becomes a whole three-course meal, you know?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
And you need to get ahead.
Kids are going to bed.
Get out.
Yeah, Uncle Clive is the first to arrive and the last to leave.
In fact, she goes like,
Uncle, do you have to go to London for work?
No, like, maybe you should go to London for work this weekend
because Uncle Clive is coming.
And I go, like, you're asking me to leave my house
because Uncle Clive is coming.
He's like, yes.
So two weeks ago
I was going on the day
He was like no just stay there overnight
And I was like
But I don't want to like
Yeah but stay because Uncle Glythe is coming on Sunday
So basically I have to leave my own house
So uncle Glythe could stay
It used to be like that with Toulin
When we first got together
And Gorku
We weren't living together
But he'd come up on stay
Toulin used to always be around in it
And you said it's like bloody
You me and Dupree
Yeah
But thank you
And if anyone's got any more dilemmas

Dot in dot podcast.
Beautiful.
What a pro.
So nice how you do it.
Should we do a game?
I love a game.
Oh, you'll have to pronounce this game, Gawker.
Yeah.
Basa la carcel.
What does that mean?
Vasaira la Carthel.
You're going to go to prison.
Oh.
You see?
How good is that?
The other day I saw this meme
Like, you know about it was like
About English or even as Spanish or English
You know what I mean?
Like going jump from one to the other
Very rapid
And I just realized that's me
Like when you go to Spanish and English
No need to think about what you are doing
Because you go from one language to the other
It's just so natural
Like you have right now
In Spanish
But I can speak in English
Yeah
You should be able to do that
Sensational
Call me genius
Oh genial
So the producers have found
Some strange Spanish laws
There's so many at the moment, you know.
Producer Henry, Enrique, is going to read them out, but there will be a word missing.
So we have to work together and work out what the missing word is.
Once producer Henry has read the sentence out, he will then count to three and we have to shout out the answer.
Okay.
So are you ready, Henrique?
Ready, Vamanos.
That was the most unspanish Vamos I've ever heard.
Ready, vamosos.
Okay.
it is illegal to play blank on a bar terrace in Seville.
Games.
You have to count to three.
One, two, three games?
No, because then we shout it at the same time.
What kind of games?
Okay, yeah.
I was going to say loud music.
No, it's illegal to play card games,
like poker and stuff like that, outside on the tables, like gambling.
Yeah, dominoes and card games.
Why? Why is it illegal?
It's like gambling in the public outside, yeah.
Well, it's, I think the official thing is, like,
loud noises.
I mean, there's more loud noises.
Just people playing cars,
especially in Seville.
So if you had a lovely balcony,
a lovely terrace in Seville,
and you wanted to sit outside
and have a glass of wine
and play a bit of a dominole.
Not in the house, in a bar terrace.
Oh, okay.
It's in English, wrote in there.
On a bar terrace.
Your language, primary language, English.
That's a bit naft, isn't it?
What do you do then when you have in a pint?
Do you have to just talk?
Tapas and talk, yeah.
Well, the difference is,
As Spanias, we like to go sit outside at a terrace, yeah, the bars outside,
in the lovely weather that you don't have most of the year, yeah?
We have most of the year lovely weather.
Like now, it's like 35 degrees, 20 degrees.
It's lovely.
So you get a part and sit outside with your mates afterward to socialize,
to have your day, speak, have our dilemmas, have these conversations.
So my wife, I can understand her.
My husband is paying the ass.
That's what you do, yeah?
You're British, go, let's meet in the path to have a chat, yes.
Can I have five Guinness please?
No five shots.
Can I absolutely
Pace and then go home.
That's what you do.
So it's different.
Well, why don't you fly to Spain for three days.
I'll invite Uncle Clive over.
I would love that.
Can I do that?
Yeah.
Can I go to Madrid?
Someone asked me the other day actually.
I want to go to Madrid.
Are we going to go to see your mom and dad?
No, I want to go to Madrid.
Can I go to Madrid?
I thought you were going to Madrid for work anyway.
When?
For a run of Summit.
No, it's the preview of the musical.
Oh, yeah.
It's next Wednesday and we have a podcast on Thursday.
So I can't go, can I?
Should we do number two?
But anyway, can I go to Madrid?
Yeah, whenever you want.
Why do you have to ask permission?
I don't know.
I ask, you know.
Number two, Henrike.
You can be fined if caught driving whilst blank.
Topless.
It's topless, yeah.
Apparently friction burn from the seatbelt.
Oh, okay.
I'm sure if I was driving doubles in Spain,
they will stop me, but no because I was driving doubles.
I only knew that because.
there's new rules coming in now that you're not allowed to walk around Topless
and Rob, my brother-in-law, so Rob and my sister, they've been in Grand Canaria this week
and she said it was roasting and they jumped in a cab and the taxi man said to Rob
no prob's taking you to your hotel but can you put your t-shirt back on please
and he wouldn't let him in the car without his t-shirt on.
And in some parts of Spain if you like in Barcelona if you are on the beach area it's
fun but when you come to the city you can have a fine to be in Topless.
Right.
Yeah, because I put it this way.
So, say, if you go to...
I'm not going against it.
No, but it's actually make sense because, for example,
if I go on the beach and I'm topless, I get it.
But if I walk out the street and I go into the main city topless,
people are like, no, I'm just a man topless.
What if a woman was topless?
People would be complaining about it, no?
Yeah, of course.
So it's the same thing.
So that's why I think it's also mainly, no, topless in the city center.
Yeah, because you're naked.
Yeah, because you can be walking past schools and stuff and all that,
and it gets a bit odd, doesn't it?
It's fair, yeah.
Oh, there you go.
Next one, that might be.
a very controversial
in that one
so you know
In Castilla la Mancha
That's where Horger leaves
Leaving your blank
On the balcony
It can lead to a fine
Okay
Underware
No
The washing
It's actually a mop
A mop
Yeah
So apparently it's because
It doesn't look
Very tidy
Oh man
I would say
It's my balcony
I pay for it
I will leave on there
What I want
I don't want my mop
Inside airing
I didn't know
I thought
with the washing, yeah.
Castile L'Anseo.
I wonder if, uh,
Jorge knows that.
You'll have to tell him.
Probably not.
What if, like,
you've mopped sick up
or crap of summer
and then it stinks?
You want to air it.
To be honest,
Jorge lives in a house
so he can do
whatever he wants
on his garden,
no, the balcony.
You could be fine
to leave your mop on a balcony.
That's not how many men in Spain.
Number four.
In parts of Seville,
blanking your underwear
is hugely frowned upon.
Showing your underwear?
No.
I put something you're showing your underwear.
Shitting in your underwear.
Would it be one of them?
I don't know.
Seville is a particular city in Spain, to be honest.
So maybe it's showing.
You're like when the lads wear the baggy jeans and the calvins.
Yeah, like La Mim Jamal.
Where's the man of the bum chips?
Yeah, let's go with showing your underwear.
It's actually hanging out, so you're on the washing line.
Oh.
Gosh, I'm never going to Seville.
What can you do there?
I mean, coming from a country, if you put a pineapple looking out,
you're looking for swinging around you
I mean
So it's like
I can't play
I can't play dominoes
in a bar
I can't leave my mop out
and I can't dry my undies
I mean
in Spain
you have to take things
very thin
yeah
so you can't do those things
doesn't mean
you don't doing them
you know
in Spain there is many things
that you can do
but we will do them
and we are very happy
Yeah
Numro
5
So the last one
so it's 1 1 1
so this is to win
in
in
feel yeah
I read this one
this is where this two is from
Jorge, my friend is from there
in Villanue de la Torre
dogs are banned from
between 2pm and 4pm
walking outside
Is that because it's hot? Yes
Jim, what do you think?
I think is that or peeing and putting on the park
something like that?
I mean it can't be barking
because who can control when the dogs barked
Or maybe it is barking because you're all having a siesta
It's walking outside
I think walk them in the park
It's actually barking.
Yeah, no, I'm going to go with it.
I was right barking.
In Villanua de la Dorre?
You can't ban it.
You can't ban when you walk your dog.
You can't be dictated to when you choose to walk your dog.
What if it's around your work hours or the dog's needs?
Snop.
Who are you doing that?
Hello?
Me?
I'm saying,
I'm saying,
I'm saying,
I'm saying, you know, you know,
that in Castilla La Mancha,
if you're just a frugon in the balcony,
you can't put a
multi?
Well,
yeah,
don't you have
you're going to
the balcony
he did you know
about the
mob
and the
last
the next
Villanue
of the
Torres in
Guadalajara
no?
Yes
Well,
there's
there's
there's
the people
don't
don't
have been
allowed
between
the two
and the
two and
the
two of the
that
that's
that's
he didn't
have
to be
deno
me
he says
I did
no but I also have fines because my dog used to bark all the time.
Well, nothing, that's...
What also is, that not...
What you can't get the bassoon until the 8th of the afternoon.
In Villano de la Torre,
you cannot take the beans out, like the garbage,
until 8 p.m. in the evening.
If no, you get a fine.
It's proper snide there, isn't it?
Yeah, well, there you go, yeah.
Thanks, Jorge.
No.
A lot of us.
Jorge.
Ciao, chow.
if you work nice? You've missed your bin shift. What if you work 6pm till 6 a.m.?
Who's going to put your bin out? As the neighbour. And is it because probably the smell because of
the heat? Maybe it could be. Or maybe or they don't like... Because in the spend, it's like here.
You know how here you do the bins every week? It's different bins. In Spain, you have the public
big containers outside. Yeah? Not like you guys have here. Or we have these new systems,
which is underground like in Bilbao. You have like a little beautiful like metal box that doesn't
look like a bin and you just open it and put the bag and the bag falls.
into a massive container underground.
So what happens is if you do that after 8pm, it's not that hot, first of all,
and then you do that between, people will do it between 8 and 9pm.
At the 9.30 is when the bin man collection starts.
So they do between 9 and 11 in the night,
is when the big tracks go and lift the station lifted up
to empty the containers for the next day.
That makes sense.
Yeah.
I don't know.
That was an interesting game.
That was a very interesting game, Monrique.
You're setting the bar high with these games.
Yeah.
So how did we do with that on Rieke?
Jemma, you won, 2-1, you win again.
Dad, dead.
I better give you your price tonight.
Oh.
I'm knowing more about Spain than you.
Check that out.
Well, you have a Spain in Europe.
What can I say?
And with that, see you next time.
Bye, Amiga host.
