Starting point is 00:00:00 A REO original podcast. Hiya. Oh, hello. What's this? It's a little present for you both. Well, mainly for Garker. Is this the new desk? Is this what people were voting for when we said?
Starting point is 00:00:18 The listeners can vote. Yeah. Oh, wait. What they voted for? Is this going to stay here for the podcast? Yes. Every week. Should I have a look first?
Starting point is 00:00:27 Let me have a look at first. No, no, no, let's have a guess. What do you think is? I can guess what it is. One, two, three. Coffee machine. Unveil it One, two, three
Starting point is 00:00:35 What? Gemma, you need to learn You see This is what is a gift about Can you learn about How to make gifts That's what is a gift What you're doing with that mind?
Starting point is 00:00:49 I'm over the moon Oh my gosh Thank you everyone For voting Thank you team Are you ready Without further ado No
Starting point is 00:00:58 Letmona to do Coming up Proximately This is amazing I have one lover who makes lovely coffees, nah? And then the other one lets me ride her
Starting point is 00:01:12 quietly and sometimes it's quite loud. Even my mum message me and she said Jesus, he's Coker, all right, Gemma. Thank goodness. It was a clean pool so I didn't, because I didn't have anything to wipe or anything. Please respect my boundaries around her.
Starting point is 00:01:27 I think she's just I won't be seeing her again. Look at me. Spanish giving a British a lesson in English. You don't know how easy you have it Without this every month. Well, I have it easier, but I have to deal with you going through it.
Starting point is 00:01:42 So I don't know where it's more easier. It smells delicious. This is like sex. You know, when you have sex, you just go straight there. It's not as good as, you know, you have to work and you know, warm it up and everything. You just don't want to go straight like a rabbit. Same thing with the coffee. You've compared a coffee machine to sex, something wrong with you.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Look at the smell. Look at the smell. Look at the smell. There you go. Thank you very much. very much. Now we can study this podcast. You need to make me one? No, you make it yourself.
Starting point is 00:02:16 I will make it myself. Practice. What if I break it, then what? No, no. You see, no. You know what? The other day, when it was broke, fun enough, I measured the cabinet, the cabinet, the depth, the height and the width,
Starting point is 00:02:35 and if it's perfect, because I measured it. Because I went to, I asked Mia, when Mia was off to go to Curris PC, because they said it there, you know, near the desk. And we were looking to go there. Well, we have now got a coffee machine in the studio. Yeah, but don't put your set of medals, eh? Because this is not you. I was going to say thank you to the listeners.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Yes, thank you. This is nothing to do with me. The listeners voted. You mentioned a coffee machine on episode one. We're 45 weeks later, and he's finally got his coffee machine. So now I can send the one back. No, no, no, no, no. For your birthday.
Starting point is 00:03:06 This stays here, apparently. Your birthday's, what, two weeks? Yeah, but this part stays in the studio. Yeah, but you don't need two of them, do you? You might as well just have one at the studio. So thank you, listeners. I will send mine back. And thank you to Ninja.
Starting point is 00:03:19 This is brilliant. So you asked me to come in every day here to make a coffee? You can come. Ride your new bike here every day, which we're going to discuss in great depth today, by the way, listeners. He's got a new lover, Gorker. Two lovers, no. Two lovers.
Starting point is 00:03:34 One makes coffees, and they all want to let me ride. This is amazing. I have one lover who makes lovely coffees, now? And then the other one, Let me ride, quietly, and sometimes it's quite loud. Love it. Honestly, thank you.
Starting point is 00:03:51 That's really, really kind. I mean, if another dog was on the voting list, that would have been there. Hey, you know what? Ninja, thank you. Yeah. I give you my address if you want to. I need another one at home because she's going to return it. Please.
Starting point is 00:04:03 Welcome to Lost in Translation. Now, seriously, I cannot take this one home, no? No. This is Lost in Translation. It's a judgment-free zone. We listen, we don't judge, although you're all probably massively judging Gorker's reaction to the coffee machine, which you all chose, so you're all to blame because of this.
Starting point is 00:04:19 But the mugs are absolutely lovely. Please do followers, lost.in. dot podcast on social media. We're 100,000, just over 100,000 followers, which is amazing. You can WhatsApp us or send us voice notes. She's to you. 07-6103-989898. Or you can email us Lost in Translation at bowermedia.com. Let's crack on with this week's up.
Starting point is 00:04:43 We're currently, as you can see, it's chucking it down. The heat wave is well and truly finished. So our holiday is long gone. It's completely behind us now that holiday. Mia was here last week. And we need to say thank you as well for all your lovely messages of Mia solving dilemmas. How incredible she is, isn't she?
Starting point is 00:05:02 So beautiful. I'm talking about our beautiful daughter. Yes, I mean, it's so beautiful. Staring at a coffee machine. It's just, I, I love it. If you message us, We might read it out. And if your voice note was, we might play it out as well.
Starting point is 00:05:16 We just have to give you that little disclaimer there. But yeah, this time last week, you were in London, weren't you? Were you in London this time last week? Yes, I went, no, after the podcast, I went to London to see my friend Pelayo. Palio, yes, it was funny because we're laughing at the episode where Gorka was saying about the Italian perfume, he sprays it, he walks through it, only him and Edwino know. And then I saw her on Instagram, he told me he was going to meet his mate Palio. who's a judge on the Spanish version of Strictly with Gorka. And I saw on Instagram this view
Starting point is 00:05:49 and Pallio had said we finally managed to meet and Gorka was sat cross-leg like he is now with a glass of champagne Pallio walks in, cheers him and they both look out into the view. Even my mum message me and she said, Jesus, is Gawker all right, Gemma? I was like, I don't know what's happening, mum.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Oh, it's funny because... They had a sunset meal, the two of them. It's funny because it was the day of the video of the posting on the social media, the video of, and you're like, do I need to worry about something? Yeah. You spread the perfect and walk into it. And the only person who knows is a gay Italian man.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Yeah. Do you need to worry? And I was telling the two places, like, funny enough. That goes out today. And I went to London to see my other friend, which is also gay and Spanish. A gay Spanish man. He went for dinner with. He was stayed at the hotel.
Starting point is 00:06:34 And I walked here. I will hide. And the woman was like, oh, he has arrived. And he was like, by the way, he's married. and two kids is no, it's just my friend, yeah? He was like, sure, sure. He was like,
Starting point is 00:06:47 I bet she's thinking we're having an affair or something. I love that you have loads of gay friends, though. I genuinely do. Because obviously my Uncle Bernard has been married to Nan for so, so long. But I just think it's brill. Yeah, I think it's because it's more sensitive
Starting point is 00:07:03 and more sensible communication than, like, PlayStation, uh. Yeah, but not all guys do that. I don't know. So if ever you, were wanting to buy me something or you needed advice on our relationship, would you ask one of your gay friends or your straight mates? Would you ask Fraser or Adwino on relationship advice? It depends, I guess. Probably none of them.
Starting point is 00:07:27 I was going to say Fraser would say something rude. No, no, no. I just don't ask advice. I just find it myself. I ask my mom. Do you ask your mom? Yeah. See, I speak to Toulon, which is probably the worst person to speak to for relationship advice. Probably, yeah. Yeah. But I'm always speaking to Tulin about you. But also, for example, Arduino, I always, me and Arduino, when we used to live together, when we stay,
Starting point is 00:07:49 the last street, they were stay at Tesla's house, the lady where we stay with, yeah? She always laughed because she was like, you two are like a married couple. And it's like, so funny because we always say, I am the gayest,
Starting point is 00:07:59 the straightest man, and he is the straightest gayest man I ever met. Like, you see him, the way that he behaves, he asked, to Ardino, Ardino, you behave like an old Italian man. You're like my,
Starting point is 00:08:11 if my granddaughter, We'll be here. It will be like that. Do you mean? Yeah. For like in that way, yeah. Well, it's very, very good. I like it.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Alongside debates, which we solve on this pod, we do solve debates. We play games, don't we? But our producer, Enrique, who you heard earlier with the coffee machine, always leaves us a question. Yes. So we did that?
Starting point is 00:08:31 We'll do that, and then our debate? Yes, because I think you have something to debate about. Okay. So the question from our producers today is, what do you both think are the most confusing things about British and Spanish culture. That for me is easy. The most confusing thing for me about the Spanish culture
Starting point is 00:08:49 is in the language how it's feminine and masculine. So it's a different ending depending if it's a female or a male saying it, which I, for me it's hard enough to learn. So if I'm talking about a man, it's a different ending or if I'm talking to a man. Yeah. That for me is confusing.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Just have the same words. not only that, it's not with a man and a woman. If it's like, for example, if I say chico, boy, is el chico. Yeah. If he's the girl, it's la chica. But for example, if it's the chair, la silla, it's feminine. If it's the sofa, it's masculine. El sofa. So why is the sofa more masculine than a chair? For example, for example, the phone, el mobile, it's masculine, the iPod, la tablet. It's feminine. But if I go,
Starting point is 00:09:43 El iPad, it's still masculine. So the iPad, the tablet. Yeah, it's confusing. That's what I find confusing. But you know why is that? Because Spanish people is beyond, like, smart, you know.
Starting point is 00:09:56 I love that you all sleep in the afternoons, though. I think that's brilliant, that you all have a little siesta. You see, I don't like siesta's. No, but I, I'm all... The only time I had siesta, it was on a Sunday after a good, like, meal with the family.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Or if I was young, when I was young, and I used to go out Saturday night and in a siesta. But if no, not really. What do you find confusing about the British culture? I know what you're going to say. Well.
Starting point is 00:10:19 It's going to be about drinking, how we start drinking so early. No, no. I don't really find anything confusing. I just find it weird things that you guys do. Like such as well. I wearing socks with sliders or with flip-flops, for example.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Not all of us. I mean. Do you know the other day? Do you remember, I took our bins out the other day and I had my socks on and I put my white socks on, and I put my white socks.
Starting point is 00:10:41 sliders on. I had black socks. It was just to take the bins out. Yeah. So I had the black socks with my white sliders. And then when I was coming back down, the guys were on the drive. So I was chatting away to some work men, got distracted. And I said, right, I need to knit to work anyway now. Nice to see you all. And I drove to work. And I went into the radio and I had my white sliders with my black socks. Yes. And I looked down at my feet. And I only did it because when I walked in, Lou on reception, she went, you're all right. I went, yeah. And she went, oh, she actually did that oh and I accidentally
Starting point is 00:11:14 went to work and then I walked in the studio and producer Matt went what's on your feet why are you dressed like that and I didn't do it on purpose but I drove into Manchester it's like now you basically wear my whole wardrobe
Starting point is 00:11:26 I've got all of Gorker's clothes which I would never but I'm on a heavy period that's my kind of wardrobe if I'm doing the gardening for example yeah it's cozy it's chucking it down if I'm doing the gardening
Starting point is 00:11:37 or I need to need to need to need to the cell garage to buy something I will wear that. But the context is it's throwing it down outside. It's cold today and I'm on a heavy period. So I want to be comfort. Sorry, coming back to the question, another thing that I've confuses me
Starting point is 00:11:53 is like you guys putting vinegar on chips, for example. What else were... Do you mean vinegar on chip? You can't have chips in or salt vinegar. That's disgusting. You don't like vinegar? Like white vinegar on the cheese when you have like the fries. You're not white vinegar, it's malt vinegar.
Starting point is 00:12:07 It's the brown stuff. It's awful. No. Hey that. Another thing that I can fishing is like you are a country is a full island, yeah, surrounded by water and you struggle to get proper like fish everywhere. It's not like something that you get like. And then when I said to people, oh, you guys don't need this. And the answer of the British people are like, yeah, but you know, it's very difficult to get like fresh fish in this country.
Starting point is 00:12:28 I'm like, you are an island. How is difficult? Yeah, but you live in the south of the England. It will be easier to Manchester. And I'm like, I used to live in Madrid. Madrid is the capital. There is no sea around in Spain. and it has one of the best fishers markets.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Because you get it sent from the south. So here could be the same. The waters are very different. You saw the water when we went to... This is what amazed me, for example, in this place. In this place. But you reside. Also, when one thing that annoys me,
Starting point is 00:12:59 and I'm going to say, that doesn't involve all the English people. Yeah, some of them. The majority, when I'm a foreign speaks English and it's not very good, you guys tend to make a joke and laugh about it. and you think, oh, ha, ha, ha, you don't even speak another language. You only speak English. You can speak for shite another language,
Starting point is 00:13:17 and you think you are so smart. I speak three, for example. You know what? That's true. And that's one thing I always say to you, I find it rude on holiday when you see any, not just English, any person on holiday,
Starting point is 00:13:29 mocking the waiter or the hotel staff for not knowing their language, I find really offensive. So that's, and I don't even go out on the earth. That's not just an English thing. That's a whole, cultural thing, that's everything. We always expect the person working in an establishment to know every language and that's wrong.
Starting point is 00:13:47 No, no, it's not that. In England, when you make something say, oh, it's funny how you say that word. I'm like, can you even speak in my language? We were like, then you reminded me of like, I'm Chris Tucker and you're Jackie Chan. When Chris Tucker is trying to say Shishini and he can't do it and Jackie Chan says, you mock my language, you can't even say three words in Chinese. It is true, yeah. Not everybody, but it's like very general.
Starting point is 00:14:13 Should we solve our debates? Well, I don't have a debate, to be honest. I've not done anything that's annoysia this week. Yes, but I just, it's a basic thing that happens constantly. So it's nothing new. What's the debate? No, well, the only thing I could have know even today, for example, is that you bought me that hoodie for myself.
Starting point is 00:14:35 You're gifted to me. But he's never worn it, and you're wearing it, which is fine. because you've never worn it though I think he looks better on you yeah I do I've actually got I've got his trousers on and I've even got your undercrackers on today
Starting point is 00:14:47 probably yeah I genuinely have look yeah calving cleanses there you go I need big I need big shorts it's fine honestly you don't know how easy you have it
Starting point is 00:14:57 no no without this every month well I have it easier but I have to deal with you going through it so I don't know where it's more easy I probably think I would rather have it
Starting point is 00:15:07 so I deal with it to do myself. They have to come with you and read you, you know? Have to read the signias like, should I, should I not? Should I move away? Should I stay out? Should I book a hotel for the week?
Starting point is 00:15:20 Yeah, that would be good. It's kind of that dilemma, you know? My debate, it's not really a debate. It's just something we're going to talk about because all week gook's been going on about this bike. He's changing the bike frame. He's got the new bike tires. Look how cool it is.
Starting point is 00:15:34 It's been measured for him. So fast. They've saw him the seat down for him. And I'm one of them. I used to ride my bike all the time as a kid. I used to love riding my bike as a kid. I went everywhere with it. There was less cars on the road.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Now I don't like the thought of you cycling on the road, which I just, just because of safety. Yeah, yeah. So I'm not really into bikes now, to be honest. Even I used to like KTMs back in the day. Now the thought of going on one is a bit frightening. However, this bike, it's been behind the front door, It was in my car all last night.
Starting point is 00:16:08 It's not behind the front door. It's not now. It's in the garage. This morning it was in my car. So it's not a debate. It's just like... But I got it yesterday. The bike.
Starting point is 00:16:15 Yeah, I know. So I put it in the car and I said, do you, I'll take it in the morning. Yeah. And then this morning... I went to get the kids in the car this morning. And he was there. And I went, go, okay.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Because my car seats were down and there was a bike. Beautiful bike. What's so special about it? It's an aerobike. It's so beautiful. Erro was in the Chirveloba. No, an arrow means like aerodynamic. Why do you need an aerodynamic bike?
Starting point is 00:16:36 Isn't that like one that you'd go in the velodrome with? No, no, no, no. This is a race bike. So it's a road bike, for example. You know how I want to do a triathlon, right? So this bike, it will be like already I can't race with this bike. I did the velodrome with Sir Chris Hoy for a charity thing we did.
Starting point is 00:16:54 If you stop, you're going to fall. And he had to teach me and two others to drive around the velodrome. And it was so difficult, but I could not take my eyes. off his quads. Oh yeah, it's huge. I've genuinely never seen quads like it in my life. Even like bodybuilders, trains. They were just...
Starting point is 00:17:14 Cycly, yeah. It was like two massive lungs attached to his leg. But for example, it's a different than cyclist, road cyclist, because the velodrome, they only have one like gear, so they are always producing, like, power to get the speed. In cycling, in the road cycling, no, but even like that, cyclists, they have a strong,
Starting point is 00:17:33 like, a more defined quote. But where's this cycling addiction of yours come from just from wanting to do a triathlon? No, I always cycle as a kid, eh? Always. Yeah, as a kid, but then in the last year you've been obsessed with bikes. Well, I have bikes since four years ago. The other bike has been four years in the house. Where has it been for four years?
Starting point is 00:17:49 It's always in the garage. Oh, well, there you go, that's why. But I used to ride, but I used to take it every time that I'll go for Strictly to London. I should take it with me and cycling in London. The problem here is with the tools and, like, strictly, I was not having the time to constantly do it. Now I have it more. I always loved it. It's more fun.
Starting point is 00:18:07 I'll tell you where we can cycle. We're at a wood cycle with you. So Clumber Park in Sheffield is massive. Really big national park. And you can cycle around that. Because sometimes, you know how we went to live them? Cycle there. Have a nice coffee and then maybe come back.
Starting point is 00:18:24 You want me to cycle to live them? It's not that far. Where do I put Benji? You'll have to be in a little side cart. No, Benji is there in the house. I'm not going to go to Lidem without Benji. That dog lives his best life on that beach. It's okay.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Well, I will find him. someone else but honestly this bike so this bike this is kind of like my auto gift for my birthday my gift you treat yourself treat yourself yes and I was supposed to go and collect this bike in May but I was on the tour and it was delay so the guys couldn't receive it and then I arrived when we were on holidays so I couldn't go and that's where I went yesterday which it was a fast-to-go of the trains and everything anyway before we read out the listener messages we've got a little message for your listeners there's only a few days to go until
Starting point is 00:19:04 voting closes for the British Podcast Award shortlist. Please, please keep voting for us. We're getting notifications saying that you are, which is brilliant. It would be an absolute dream if our very first little podcast, not even a year old, won the British podcast. We can go and do that to... Make a coffees for you guys. Starting point is 00:19:50 We'll put a link in the episode As well to make it easier For those watching But thank you in advance Imagine if we don't win after all this We'll have to eat humble pie But we can eat it in here With our coffee machine
Starting point is 00:20:00 We want to win it When we don't win it In case we don't win it, because we will. No, you don't know if you will. But just the... You're manifesting it. Once we win it, we'll be grateful. But if doesn't happen, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:20:13 We give our best and we take part of it. You have to be like the buddour and the monk. Yes. You have to stay loose. The butter and the monk, you know that story, don't you? Yes, Phil. Come on, let's go to Phil. Phil on YouTube.
Starting point is 00:20:27 On YouTube's got a question for us. I'm going to read it. How do both of you call with Mead? and female admirers. I know you trust each other, but I had a famous girlfriend in the 80s. I'm not saying who she was. I couldn't cop,
Starting point is 00:20:42 and she ended up dumping me anyway when she got really famous. Why couldn't you cope? That's what you're saying, it's admires, you know? But you can have admires everywhere. You don't have to be in the public eye or be popular or anything.
Starting point is 00:20:53 I think it's nice, Phil. I'd much rather people say, oh, your fellow's fit than, ooh, your fellow's rank. Yeah. And I think it's normal to people to have an admirer. It would be different if she admires someone too much, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:21:07 Yeah. That's different, but have admirers, you always go. Also, you can have, even as we can have admired people that admire, and it's just like, throw like what they do, like Rafael Nadal, me because of the tennis chic. Tom Hardy, she does it because of the forearm, you know? Every bloody serious that she watches, she watches, who is the other actor now? Oh, Jeremy Renner?
Starting point is 00:21:26 Yeah. I always think it is natural for every, if Gawker didn't window shop, I would be a little bit worried. Do you know what I mean? Where's window shop? Window shop is when you can, you don't have to fancy someone, but you can accept someone's attractive.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Yeah, but I do that with female and male anyway. Yeah, but I personally don't fancy anyone until you get to know them as a person. You can think, oh, they're attractive, they're handsome, but they might be a dickhead. And in which case you don't fancy them at all. But I think, regardless of what your partner does for a living, if you used to say you couldn't cope with it, Phil,
Starting point is 00:22:05 maybe it's your own insecurity that needs to be looked at as opposed to some... Because your partner from the 80s, it's not her fault that was her job and if she looked beautiful and attractive, that's just her. You have to be mentally strong enough and secure enough to be like,
Starting point is 00:22:20 yeah, all these people admire my partner, but look who she's coming on to. But is that, for example, even like, for example, let's say an example, like social media, when you post the pictures and people are like, oh, wow, that on holidays, when you put the... the pictures that you were in with the people like wow she looks amazing you are so like yo you
Starting point is 00:22:37 punch you and I was like yeah I know yeah I'm great good for me you should say she looks amazing yeah she's not bought me a coffee machine yeah but I'm not like I won't be like oh why is these people giving you so many compliments I'm like yeah give the compliments because I'll give the compliments too you know and I'm the one enjoying her so yeah he said to me today driving in what if you done to your hair it looks different I didn't say that I said your head looks lovely I said, it was just the colour and you went, no, it's not the colour, because it looked beautiful how you've styled it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:05 And I hadn't styled it. That's the thing. I'd just woke up and... It was the waves before the rain. Oh, the waves before the rain. Someone messaged me the other day asking me to be truthful about my hair extensions, didn't they? I've not got hair extensions. It's my own hair.
Starting point is 00:23:18 It is true, actually. I can pull it if you can see it. It's my own hair. It's my own hair. Because I did a message saying thanks to my hairdresser, and they said it'd be real, really refreshing if you could be honest, about your extensions. And it's bloody thick
Starting point is 00:23:34 and takes longer to dry and when she has dry the hair in the room it's roasting because it spends 40 minutes with the hair dryer and I'm there and I'm there
Starting point is 00:23:42 and I'm saying to like I'm going to ask Dyson to give you the proper like turbo hair dryer you know what I mean? No. So Phil I would say whoever you're with
Starting point is 00:23:51 you're going to have that issue unless you're secure enough in yourself but thank you for listening Phil and thank you for getting in touch and I'd love to know who it was in the 80s. Maybe it was Sonia. Think we're alone now.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Angela's got in touch. She says, I'm 54, four years single, and in the past two years, I've overcome breast cancer. Well done, Angela. I've had surgery, chemo and radiotherapy. God bless you. I bit the bullet and booked myself my first solo trip to Thailand to a health and wellness retreat. I'm a little nervous but also excited. However, I can't shake the feeling that when you travel alone, people may think it's quite sad. or even no friends, et cetera. This might actually be the future for me as my circle is small. And all my friends are pretty much are married.
Starting point is 00:24:37 What are your thoughts? I don't think you go for it. I love a solo trip sometime. It's so nice and peaceful. Angela, honestly, I've traveled to Portugal solo to a health and wellness. It was Jason Vale's Drews Retreat. I met people on that trip years ago, who I'm still friends with now. Solo traveling is incredible.
Starting point is 00:24:59 There's nothing lonesome or sad about it, genuinely. I think it's all power to people who travel alone. You learn about the culture. You're on your own time schedule. You're not doing things for other people. I, if I was single and I didn't have kids, I would travel everywhere on my own. I used to go to the cinema on my own.
Starting point is 00:25:18 I'd go for dinner on my own. Don't you have a popcorn? Yeah. I think you'll have an amazing time, Angela. In Thailand, Saudi Qa, Kunker. And if anyone says, are you on your own? Just go, yeah. How amazing.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Yeah. How amazing. You go, oh yeah, have you got to go to the kids water park again? That's a shame. I would just go for it, Angela, especially overcoming what you've gone through. Just yolo it. Travel solo, you never know. You might get sat next to someone on a plane who you chat, chat, chatting away to you stay friends with.
Starting point is 00:25:47 Yeah. Or meet someone there, you know? Yeah. I did it twice, though, and I'm still mates with them. And it was before strictly. So that was what, over 10 years ago and we're still friends, just because we went to the same. health and wellness retreat on our own. So enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:26:02 Oh, that message was lovely, you know? I like messages that we can have a good little natter about after. Yeah. So also now, for all of you guys, if you have any stories, anything that you want to share, please send them through because we would love to know, hear about them, talk about them, you know, and have a little chat about it, isn't it? And any questions you've got for myself or Gorka, we did a little episode two weeks ago where we just answered your questions.
Starting point is 00:26:27 and we loved it. It was good because you know what we're like. Just ask away. We'll answer anything. I mean, sometimes it gets us in trouble. I ain't going to lie. Also, for example, give feedback, you know, like let us know what is your favorite part of the podcast. What do you like?
Starting point is 00:26:43 If you like the host, if you don't like the host, you know. Because also this is our podcast, but we also want to do it that you guys enjoy it. We want to listen or if you want us to do, I don't know, different sections, for example. We were laughing the other day. So you guys will remember the episode where we answered your questions And the questions, one of the questions, I think it was from Henrike, was do you ever think that you can't be asked being here? And we answered it and said, yeah, loads of people can't be asked being at work, but they love it when they're there. And Gawker said ingest, he said, sometimes you can't even be asked to pipe general say, should we have a cheeky one?
Starting point is 00:27:19 I go, I can't be asked. Ha, laugh, laugh, laugh. And then we saw her online. Was it two days ago? Yeah. A massive headline. Gawker admits I can't be asked to have sex with Gemma anymore And then it was the... Just the last night.
Starting point is 00:27:33 That's why I'm like this. Relationship crisis. And it was... Is it over? Is it over for the couple? Wait for the next hell and I just said that as a joke. They'd be like, ooh, Corca had sex with Gemma last night. They've had sex.
Starting point is 00:27:44 Jokes. We've had sex thrice. But yeah, so things like that, we do answer. It does get us in trouble, like. Not in trouble. But it was just a few people had said, message me saying, If I were you, I would get rid for that. I can't believe he can't be bothered to sleep with you anymore.
Starting point is 00:28:01 And he's like, no, if you watch the podcast, you'll get the context of how it said. This week's dilemma comes from an Anonymous. Anonymous. Anonymous. Anonymous. Anonymous. And and then M. No. No, M. N.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Anno. Like, anno. No. You always anno in Spanish. Anonis. Anonymous. Anonymous. Anonymous.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Look at me Spanish giving a British a lesson in English So then you guys talk Yeah How about that thing My Gemma and Gawker
Starting point is 00:28:40 My Dale Emmer is about my sister-in-law I've been with my partner For 21 years Been married for four years Despite being in her life For over 20 years Me and my sister-in-law
Starting point is 00:28:50 Have never got on We had a huge fight At my partner's 30th Bearing in mind That he's now 43 It shows you How long we've not got along Fast forward to my Hendi
Starting point is 00:29:00 Five years ago We had another huge fight and she even made one of my bridesmaids cry on my wedding day which she still hasn't apologised for if all of this wasn't enough i even received a nasty message from her on my 40th last year which was apparently meant to be sent to her mum of course it was so i bet she did it on purpose i finally washed my hands of her but my husband wants me to reconsider as he wants harmony in the family should i reconsider or am i within my right to never speak to her again don't speak I think if it's been going on for that long and she's upset your bridesmaid, she's sent you a snide message
Starting point is 00:29:34 because even if that message wasn't for you, she was still slagging you off. And she should also be trying to find the harmony because you make her brother happy. So that should be enough for her. You don't have to agree with who your brother and sister go out with. But if they are being made happy, you should appreciate, okay, that person's doing something right. You don't have to be in the same room as they're all the time. So I would just say that ship has long sailed, we have to agree to disagree on it. I'm more than happy for you to see your sister whenever you want.
Starting point is 00:30:06 She's your blood. See her whenever you want. But please respect my boundaries around her. I think she's a twat. I won't be seeing her again. There we go. I agree with her. That's what I would say.
Starting point is 00:30:16 I wouldn't know why is the problem with the sister. Like, you know what I mean? It must be something behind. All the sister is a little H-I-T. You mean? Well, they've had a fight at the partner's 30th. Oh, why? You had a fight at the Hindu and a message on a 40th.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Is it around drink maybe? Is it one, but maybe when you both get a few drinks in you, the truth comes out, could it be that? Have you ever had to get on with someone for like your partner's sake? Like, is there anyone who you tolerate because you know they're my mates? I mean, I just went, yeah. No, genuinely, though, you get on with my mates and I get on with yours. Don't pretend. That's not.
Starting point is 00:30:56 I'm joking. But like I also, for example, if you go, we're going to go to Laura. I say, okay, bye. I don't go. I just let you go. Yeah, I go to the girls on my own. Yeah, because I probably, I prefer to like have them on a little doses, you know what I mean? But we are all having.
Starting point is 00:31:08 But it's also like, it's your mates also. I don't need to be there. Do you mean? Yeah. It's not the safety that is friends in common. I think it's cool on a relationship. You have your friends that I like them and get on with them. And I have my friends that you like and get on them.
Starting point is 00:31:22 And then we have friends in common also. Yeah. Like sometimes your friends. friends, it's part of being my friends in common. But that doesn't mean every time that you're going to go see your friends, I have to go with you, you know what I mean? I think it's because as well, so my four best friends, they've all got partners. So we relish our time together away from the guys. So we will book, like an overnight somewhere or we will arrange, like I'll say, I'll go because in London on Saturday. Do you all want to come round? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Fraser messaged him today and said, I don't know it's late notice, pal, but we've got a potential event in London next Saturday. Would jam my mind you're coming down to London again? Because you hear this weekend, would you be bothered? He messaged me and went, this is from Fraser and sent me the WhatsApp. When I saw him, I went, pal, you crack on. Do you need to stay over? I need to go and do this thing.
Starting point is 00:32:09 It's like, I have to ski two kilometers and run three kilometers as fast as I can. You're a runner, you're fine. You're an athlete. You're always telling me, if you can't run three kilometers, what's wrong with you? You should be able to do it. Yeah, no. Yeah. Have that coffee.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Have that ninja, you'll be revved up. I would be like, projecting behind me. How do you see, like, a marathon when they were filming this, how do you see this clip? This is like a marathon woman running a marathon, yeah?
Starting point is 00:32:35 And she was running and she basically shut her pants. She thought she had like a fart where she shut her pants and the camera is filming her and they're going to go and she was like, from the front, not from the back,
Starting point is 00:32:46 I just shit myself. You had to pee on the lakes when we went. Yeah, literally. I went for it was my long run it was before the New York one that I was going to do there. He had to stop and poo in a field.
Starting point is 00:32:57 I had to do 17K and I had the coffee in the morning. Normally when I go for a run and have a coffee I wait 15 minutes for in case. But it was fine, so I set off. And then, again, me, when I started to run and if I had a coffee
Starting point is 00:33:10 or the weather is quite cold and it's wind, if I get wearing on my tummy, all the time happens, I get the crumbs and I need to go to the toilet. It's like a cold thing. I don't know why. Since I was young, always happened. And I was running in this.
Starting point is 00:33:23 like beautiful road, straight line, no one around it. And I started to fill it. I'm like, oh, no. I look at my watch and it was 2K. And I was like, I have another 15 to go. It's fine. I hold it. Go to 4K.
Starting point is 00:33:34 And I was like, no, I can't. Because I thought, if I trump or fart, it's not going to be a fart. It's going to be like a follow through, yeah? Yeah, yeah. So you see me looking around. There's nowhere to stop. It was just this full filled with cows. Open.
Starting point is 00:33:48 I was like, well, I'll do it here. And then when we were driving home, we drove past it. He said, that was it there. where I had to stop. Thank goodness. It was a clean pool, so I didn't because I didn't have nothing to wipe or anything. And then you carried on running 12K? Yes, it was awful.
Starting point is 00:34:02 But you had a right shit-stained away on your pants. Straight to the shower, yeah. Did you have skids? You must have done. I watched office, I don't know. It was horrible, yeah. Well, we've massively digressed from the dilemma, haven't we? What a shit dilemma now.
Starting point is 00:34:18 We're a shit dilemma, but let us know how you get on, because have the conversation with your partner and just be really honest because it's difficult for him he's stuck in the middle and there's nothing worse when your family don't get on
Starting point is 00:34:30 with your fella so you have to consider him stuck in the middle but you could just say I've tried for so long UCO whenever you want and I'll just do something else and then he's you know
Starting point is 00:34:41 you're choosing yourself and him you don't have to be best friends or have the best time just be cordial or like amicable and then when you are when you are in a family for example Christmas or whatever
Starting point is 00:34:51 just respect each other. You don't have to talk. But also don't give it the bad look or be the rolling eyes. Yeah, Christmas is actually you all got to be together. But if anyone's got any advice for that dilemma, O'Dable 7-6103-9-98, maybe your brother or sister is with someone who you hate.
Starting point is 00:35:07 I will go and I will go, what is your effing problem? Tell me now and we finish this right now. We need to ask me here, don't we? Yeah. Me, you know what to do. Showing move on to our game? Yes, my favourite part.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Today's game is called Who's That Back? Because I don't know, Gorka, today's National Dog Day. Yeah, probably. Producer Henry's got some dog barks. It's a very hard game this. I think it's going to be hard because we're going to have to try and identify... Which type of dog?
Starting point is 00:35:40 The breed of dog, judging from the bark alone. It's going to be tough. So to make it easy, we've got some multiple choice if we need it. That's the fail-save. So, shall we have bark number one? That sounds like some type of hound. Because it's a... Oh, how!
Starting point is 00:35:59 Sounds like a puppy also, like a young dog. Play it again. Sounds like Benji, puppy. Sounds like Benji. Golden Doodle? No, it sounds, it sounds to me. Pudel. It's a puddle in there.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Do you want a 50-50? Yeah. It's either a corgi or a basset hound. Basset hound. I'm going to say a hound dog. It's, I think... I'm bad at this thing because I know, for me it's barks. I would have gone beagle or basset.
Starting point is 00:36:29 I don't think it's a corgi because the corgi is the most short, sharp. Like a, ooh, who! Like the little... You go for it. Come on, then. I'm going to say, Basset?
Starting point is 00:36:36 Correct. Well done, Gemma. So let's do just Gemma because I don't know anything. I'll be surprised and proud of you, Gemma. What if I've been saying about a Basset Hound though? Can you explain to the listeners? Let's do one thing. I wanted a Basset Hound. Gemma, you answered and I made a coffee.
Starting point is 00:36:53 I wanted a Basset Hound for so long and Gorka said he's never seen her ugly and miserable looking dog. I didn't say that. Yes, she did. And I said, that's what makes them cute. You made me sound so nasty. Clip number two, let's do it. Big dog.
Starting point is 00:37:10 Scooby-Doo. It's a Scooby-Doo. Yeah, that sounds like a bloodhound dog. Like a Scooby-Doo dog. Play it once more. Yeah, like it. Not a Mastiff. It sounds like, what's that one on Lady in the Tramp?
Starting point is 00:37:30 The one who talk like they. He gets run over, don't he, at the end? Oh. Can I have a 50-50, please? So this is either a cocker spaniel or a beagle. Beagle. It is a beagle. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Yes, Gemma. Coffee for you. I was going to say it didn't sound like Ollie. Oh, God bless Ollie, my little cocker spaniel. Two out of two. Can we have click number three, please, Henrike. Can't hear it because of that coffee machine. That looks like a German shepherd. That's a deep one, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:38:07 it. Like a big boy. But I'm going to ask for it again after this coffee machine has stopped coffee in. Okay, can we have it again, please, Henri Kay? It could be a lab, that you know. Could be a Labrador. It's either a Mastiff or a Labrador. I think a Mastiff. I'm going to go Labrador.
Starting point is 00:38:34 It's a Mastiff. Oh. It's okay. Well done. I like the one with the... Do you know what dog I like as well? For everyone listening, please Google the Hungarian Pooley. and it's a mop.
Starting point is 00:38:46 It's basically a mop. Should we have clip number four? Jogsha. Or Chihuahua? I was going to say that. That sounds like a Chihuahua or a... Jack Russell or something. Or a...
Starting point is 00:39:03 That sounds like a Chihuahua or a shit through. It's either a Yorkshire Terrier or a Chihuahua. Jokshed area. I'm going to go Chihuahua. It's a Chihuahua. Oh, well done, Jim. So we're on three out of four. Clip number five.
Starting point is 00:39:19 You know the coffee machine makes the podcast even more fun, you know? That's also like a chihuahua or a jokshua. Yeah, it's small. It could be a bit of a cocker. It's either a poodle or a bejean frieze. Vigion frieze. It's a poodle. Oh, is it?
Starting point is 00:39:37 Yeah. If you could have any breed aside from Benji, what would you have? I love Vislas Hungarian Visillas Or the other one There is like blue Wymaranas
Starting point is 00:39:50 I like them Or like a Labrador My sister's got a bulldog Aren't she Rocco And he's I like French bulldogs too
Starting point is 00:40:00 But you don't like them No You know You know something It's not that I don't like a French bulldog I feel bad Because he can't breathe very well And I just
Starting point is 00:40:07 Do you know I was reading We have a hits radio pride and I was reading a podcast comment about this Pride show and it said the most common dog for gay couples, we were speaking about adeno and then before, is a sausage dog. Yeah, it's so popular.
Starting point is 00:40:26 I didn't realize that, but apparently it's a great dog. Why they like sausage? Is that why it is? Is that like a little euthanism? Because it's that like if you put pineapple in your shopping trolley. I think if you put a pineapple in your shopping trolley, it means you're up for a bit of piping. Really?
Starting point is 00:40:44 Yeah, it's a swingers. If I'm doing the big shop, and I think it's a pineapple, on top of my shopping, and I walk around, and if anyone sees it and then either picks that pineapple up or puts the pineapple in their trolley,
Starting point is 00:40:58 you can go and swing with them. Ooh. I'm sure it's the pineapple. Yeah. Does it have to be a full pineapple? No, it's got to be a full... Can you imagine, you go to the supermarket,
Starting point is 00:41:10 and you just buy a full pineapple because you're going to buy a full pineapple. If there's a swinger in there, he'll think you want to swap wives with him. Yes, that's what it is. I only know that because I once bought a pineapple to make a, you know, like the hedgehog for a party, to put cocktails in the hedgehog.
Starting point is 00:41:29 To cocktails. Genuinely, without the tail. That's the only reason I got it. And someone went, oh, I didn't know you were into that. And I just went, ha, and thought what you want about. And then it was only when I told someone, they were like, yeah, that's the symbol for swingers. I was like, what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:41:43 I was just, I needed to make a hedgehog. So now if you buy a pineapple, just put it on the bottom of the trolley or well. We've digressed and we've took long because we've got coffee. But that's why we love the podcast. Yeah, thank you so much for tuning in. Thank you for your questions. Thank you for your dilemmas. We will be back next week.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Like we said, any questions you'd like us to answer, please do WhatsApp them to Henry. O'Dable 7603-3989898 or email him at Lost in translation at Bowermedia.com. Do you get lots of messages, Emory? We get, yeah, quite a few, yeah. That's good. Nice. And thank you very much, guys, for the coffee machine.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Yes, thank you. We love it. Enjoy the rest of you week. Enjoy the rest of you, Wednesday, if you're listening on a Wednesday. And we will see you next time. Adios. We are going to get a bass at hand one day. Nice.
