Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey everybody, welcome to Foundations Friday 13, Adversity Breeds Strength. I was reminded of this as I listened to some jiu-jitsu motivation from Hicks and Gracie and Jocko Willink and Joe Rogan and then I was at a super tough Brazilian jiu-jitsu class this morning and I've had some adversity myself at work and at home and I know many of you have. Kids are back in school. We're still kind of locked down. Families have been together maybe too much, maybe not enough. All the stuff that we're going through as people, as employees, as husbands, as wives, as significant others, as kids, but this adversity is going to sharpen us.
Starting point is 00:00:41 It's going to make us stronger so we can deal with hard things again in the future. There are people that have dealt with much harder than what we're dealing with right now. So I think our perspective of looking at, look at what we did this past year. Some of it wasn't great across the world, but overall, for those of us that stuck with it, stuck with our principles,
Starting point is 00:01:00 stuck with keeping our families safe, fed, educated, this adversity is breeding strength in all of us. Every time I'm on the mat and I think about freaking out because I can't breathe and I'm tired and you push through it, I get stronger. Every time you work that longer shift, every time you bite your tongue during a difficult discussion, and every time you just hug your kid when they're not listening instead of getting mad
Starting point is 00:01:28 the adversity that we've been through has bred strength in us and I thank you all for helping breed strength in me and this show which has grown quite a bit over the past year because of you all I wish you all the best have a fantastic weekend.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Stay safe. Wash your hands. And Godspeed.
