Every morning is a miracle that is sometimes hard to appreciate when we're tired,
when we've been through something horrible, when we've lost loved ones, or we're just not feeling it.
But it truly is. Like this morning after a good rain with the sun and everything looks so clean.
Every morning we get to be in the world, we get to be near our family, we get to have family near us,
friends, contribute to the world, to our company, to our organization, to our communities is a miracle. It really is.
And my wife and I were inspired by the story of Hal Elrod, who himself is a miracle from surviving
a car accident from when he was much younger, where he was supposed to stay in a vegetative
state. And instead of doing so, he healed, he fought, and he put together the Miracle Morning
and some
steps that folks can take to help start their day and start
their life going in a better direction. And, again, it was
super inspirational. watching on Amazon, I highly encourage that
there's also the book, the miracle morning, which is in
many different formats, languages, there's also some,
some smaller books that he made that are focused on specific
industries or jobs, but needless to say, pretty inspirational guy, surviving that and surviving other
hardships in his life, which I won't spoiler alert, so you all can go watch the movie. But
what I want to share today on this foundations Friday 11, every morning is a miracle,
is how to win the day from what I took from that. And those six steps in the acronym is savers,
that Hal shares with us that
each of these individually are helpful, let alone putting them all together as you get up early and
start your day with these. And so you dedicate an hour each day and you do these steps. And the
first step is silence, right? With all the noise and electronics and whether it's internal to our
family or external to the world or whatever, we're blasted by data and information and bad news and
gossip and whatever.
So start your day with silence, face the sun, get your body's rhythm into waking up instead of being asleep. You can meditate, you could pray, you could just sit there with your cup of coffee,
but you're sitting there just quietly, not looking at your phone, not listening to music,
just soaking in the world. Second thing is affirmations. I'm going to be, you know,
I think of Saturday Night Live, right? I'm good enough.
I'm smart enough. Doug on it and people like me, but positive affirmations, things like that. Tell
yourself, you know, encourage yourself what you're going to do today. How are you going to succeed?
How are you going to get past your hurdles? The third of the savers is visualization. See yourself
succeeding. See yourself pushing harder. One more rep, one more round, one more step walking.
Just, you know, that positive in athletes, professional athletes and successful folks
visualize all the time.
It's a very well-known technique.
The E is exercise.
I've talked about that a lot here.
Just touched on it, you know, as well.
Exercise in the morning is huge.
It gets your blood flowing.
I know when I don't exercise in the morning, I don't feel as well, not as positive.
So that's a huge thing.
And it doesn't take long.
You can get a great workout, as I mentioned in the episode about home gyms and healthy kids.
In a short amount of time, you can get a killer workout.
10 minutes doing 100 burpees, you're smoked.
The R is reading.
Read something.
And read something positive, not just online news or gossip columns or something like that,
but some kind of knowledge
that's going to help you for your day and then your future and that you can use in your life.
And the S from Savers is scribing. So just like Anna Leibold and I talked, journaling is important.
Scribing, writing down, what are you going to get out of your head onto that paper? And you
could freeform it on a notepad. There's also formatted journals out there.
There's so many different ways, but scribing is that.
So again, savers from Hal Elrod as part of Miracle Morning is silence, affirmations,
visualization, exercise, reading, and scribing.
A pretty cool formula to get started on your day.
And again, I'm sure each of us have probably done, you know, one or two of these on the same morning, but putting them all together seems like a pretty
powerful thing for success. And again, I highly encourage you all to check out, um, the miracle
morning on Amazon, very inspirational. He is plus the stories of other people, how this and other
things have changed their lives. And you'll learn a lot about yourself. You may cry. I know I did. It's tough stuff, but the hardships and the inspiration, both sad and joyous,
help make us all better. So thank you all for helping me get better with this show and formulate
things. I look forward to some of the guests we have coming up in the future and some more
insights from stuff that I've learned. So thank you. Please check out and share the show,
