Starting point is 00:00:00 Please silence your cell phones, hold all sidebar conversations to a minimum, and we will get started with people process progress in three, two, one. What does it mean to be a dad on Father's Day 2020? It means that you have helped homeschool your children, maintained your marriage when you're both in the same space, if you're both working adults. You have worked to try and get up every day and exercise and maintain your mental and physical well-being. You have existed. You have seen the news and politics manipulate this country.
Starting point is 00:00:40 You have seen horrible people do horrible things to others. You have seen a rising of folks that may or may not be the same color as you, creed, race, religion, but you have realized that your most precious asset is your family. Whether your family is a wife and kids like mine, husband and kids, whatever. If you're a father, your job is to endure, to protect, and to be here. We've probably all faltered. We've probably all waned a bit in our strength. And if you haven't, then kudos to you.
Starting point is 00:01:25 I'm sitting here on my front porch in southwest Virginia looking at the sun start to dip in the sky and shine through the trees after a rainy day, and it's beautiful, and we're still here, and our world's not perfect. We have a lot of stuff going on in this country. But we men, we husbands, we fathers, on Father's Day 2020, we'll set the example for all races, creeds, religions, whatever. By doing what we should for the people in our lives, to the best that we can. Godspeed, everyone.
