Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to Foundations Friday 29, Task, Purpose, End State. This is one of the key concepts of Leaders' Intent from Episode 81, Foundation 1, Leaders' Intent of the Foundational 5. And again, that's Leaders' Intent, Objectives, Organization, Resources, and Communication, which we'll break out further over future episodes. But the Task, Purpose, end state is really a focus that the National Wildfire Coordinating Center uses to describe how we can deliver leaders intent. And as a reminder, the task is the objective or goal of the assignment. The purpose is the why the assignment needs to be done. And the end state is how the situation should look when the assignment is successfully completed. So really good elements to give a succinct
Starting point is 00:00:45 leader's intent to let folks know, you know, here's the objective that we're trying to accomplish or the goal of what we're doing here. Same thing for projects, right? Not just field assignments. The purpose, what's the why, right? Why do we need to do this? Why are we putting this new process in place? Why are we, you know, replacing this piece of gear or something? And a response or incident management. It's kind of straightforward. We're trying to find the missing person as quickly as possible, those kind of things. And the end state, how should this situation look when it's successfully completed?
Starting point is 00:01:14 So before we are done here, we will have accomplished this. We will have, if you remember going back to commander's intent, we will have retaken this ground and a project. We will have implemented this new process, made sure everybody's trained and handed off support, things like that.
