On today's episode I'm sharing a mindset that I’ve worked to adopt recently from list...ening to ‘s ‘Unfu*k Yourself’- I will…(insert forward looking /positive actions)- I will not…(insert what actions and behaviors you will not accept)It really is up to each of us to determine what kind of life we have while we’re in this world. We can either move towards things, not accept things or stay stagnant. Stagnant things get rotten and devolve over time. So, let’s not stay stagnant. Starting point is 00:00:00 What will you do to change the things that you don't like? What will you not put up with anymore from yourself and others to also change the things you don't like? This is a sentiment I got from listening to Un-F Yourself by Gary John Bishop. And, you know, I will not, or I think it was chapter two, I am willing, right? I'm willing to do this or not. I'm not willing to do this or that. And so it prompted me to remind myself or start thinking about things, and maybe it will for you too, about I will set my clock and get up and exercise. I will apply for that job that I've seen that I've been interested in. I will eat a little better for my heart health and body health. I will go get help if I need to talk to somebody.
Starting point is 00:00:45 I will reach out to that friend that I haven't talked to for a while. You get the point. Conversely, you can do a similar thing and help reshape your mind. That neuroplasticity I've talked about on the KevTalksPod test, KevTalksPod.com, and help reshape your mind, how your mind physically is, how it thinks, how you think, by also then saying, I will not, right? I will not sleep in and not exercise. I will not keep eating McDonald's every day and making my cholesterol go up. I will not ignore the signs of anxiety or depression or post-traumatic stress that I keep having these visions, etc. I will not pass up that job opportunity that is stuck in my cetera. I will not pass up that job opportunity
Starting point is 00:01:25 that is stuck in my mind. I will not be on my phone all the time instead of spending time with my kids. I think you all get it, but it's simple. As Jocko Willink and Leif Babbitt and the whole Echelon Front crew say, it's simple but not easy sometimes, right? We get sucked into our own worlds if we're parents or have kids or just busy. So think about on this Kev's Tips Friday, what will you do to make your life better and the life of those around you, right? Focusing on others helps you as well. And what will you not put up with? What will you not put up with from yourself? What will you not put up with from others? It's okay to set boundaries. You don't have to do everything. But I thank you
