You have to keep going to be successful.
If you start on YouTube and you don't do well, come back again, get better organized, be consistent,
improve the quality of your content, and you'll be successful.
If you start a podcast that gets very low listens and you're not consistent and your audio quality is not great,
improve your quality, be more consistent. Book regular guests. Give regular
feedback. These are just two examples that I thought of after I had a great discussion with
Dr. Tracy Marks in episode 111, Why Am I So Anxious? The first example is Dr. Marks' venture
into YouTube. She started over 10 years ago with online posts and blogs and then a podcast and then
on YouTube and then got some negative
feedback and got scared off a little bit. And then she came back and then she kept being consistent
and then she improved the quality of the content. And now she has over 1.2 million subscribers.
The second example was me. I started a podcast called Between the Slides, kind of an obscure
name, wasn't as consistent. So I made a change to a name that
was more relevant called People Process Progress, this show. Stayed more consistent, increased the
quality, gotten a better routine, reached out to guests like Dr. Marks and others, and now have
over 50,000 downloads. Thank you all so much for listening to this short episode. I hope it inspires
you. You have to keep going. You have to keep going.
You have to keep trying.
You have to maybe ignore those negative comments.
You have to decide, is this something I want to do each day, each week, twice a week,
every couple weeks, every month, however often it is, if you're a YouTuber or a podcaster or something.
And then if you want to be successful saying jiu-jitsu, you've got to keep showing up.
You've got to work on the routine. You You got to be in shape outside of it. If you want to get healthier,
are you going to be consistent by exercising regularly? Are you going to eat better?
Anything we do in life, whether it's for our mental or physical health or our presence online
or trying to be successful in work and whatever business you do, you have to keep going. You have
to keep trying. Overnight successes take years to accomplish.
I thank you all for sticking with me the past couple of years with the People Process Progress
podcast. I'm also going to ask that you check out Kev Talks podcast, K-E-V Talks. It's me. It's me
looking at Google Analytics. What are the trends out there? What are the trends people are searching
for and how do I help? How do I do this? Or just looking at what we do in this day and age,
who the popular celebrities are, this or that. And given my professional feedback,
we're applicable in certain industries like information technology, program management,
public safety, things like that. And my personal opinion as a father of three boys being married
for over 20 years, letting Google Analytics and Big Data do a lot of the work for me
and a lot of the work for you, so you don't have to look this stuff up.
In fact, let's play the trailer to KevTalks Podcast right now.
