Hey everyone, welcome to Foundations Friday 14. That 0.2% matters. What is that 0.2%?
Well, I'll come back to that in a second. Because at first, usually we focus on that
99.8% of accuracy in system testing, or a score in a test, or distribution of vaccine,
or insert any kind of measurement of a goal we're trying to achieve.
And when you hit 99.8% of it, that's almost perfect, right?
I mean, so we should feel really good about that.
And that's true.
Some perspective I've been given lately is, but what about that 0.2%?
What if our systems don't match?
And somewhere in your company or somewhere in your organization,
the 0.2% equals less paycheck because data didn't match and
payments didn't go through. Or let's say that 0.2% that you didn't learn for that test is a
critical skill that you'll need down the road. Or let's say that 0.2% that didn't get vaccinated
are the folks that actually have underlying medical conditions or again insert any scenario the point
is the perspective that really I was given and to think about is oftentimes we look at
that real high match that real high measurement that real good score but the small percentage
that we don't get right and we're not going to be perfect all the time but we always need to consider
what can I learn from that 0.2%, from that piece I
didn't get right, from those people we weren't able to help, from the match we didn't make in
the system. So perspective, right? So while it's a small margin, small margins can have big impacts
on people's lives, on their jobs, on their personal life, on their health, on their wellness.
So I think we need to remember while we're trying to achieve the highest score we can in whatever area we're focusing on, let's all try and consider how we can shore up and make things better for
that 0.2%. Thank you all so much for helping make this show better, make me better. I appreciate
