Starting point is 00:00:00 Morning, everybody. Welcome to Foundations Friday, Episode 60, The Godzilla Principle. This is not my idea. It's from Michael Dobson from a book I've talked about on this show called Streetwise Project Management. It's been around for a bit. I highly advise it. It's a good starter if you're looking to get into project management or a good reminder, good baseline, and a readable kind of version with all the elements of the Project Grinch body of knowledge. So what's the Godzilla principle? So Michael Dobson talks about in the Godzilla movies, the original ones, the old ones, they find this baby monster and there's this person. One of the people in the movie is like, hey, we should kill this thing now.

Starting point is 00:01:12 didn't do. So then it comes back and destroys your city is in your projects and your programs as part of your portfolios, find the risks early, manage the risks, accept the risks, you know, passing on whatever you need to do, how you're going to take care of those, but find them early. Think about the Godzilla principle of finding those monsters, those risks early before they become issues, grow bigger and take care of them early, right ahead of time. So I hope you all are having a great day. It's a nice spring day here in the mountains of Blacksburg, Virginia. If it's not good weather where you are, it's still another day, right? So we're all lucky for that. Thank you so much. I'm lucky to have you all as listeners. Thanks so much for listening to the
