about these great episodes and learn more from leaders in the healthcare, technology,
wellness, and public safety spaces. For now, though, let's fly back into this episode in 3, 2, 1. hospital incident command system. I think it's too scripted. It doesn't build more resilient and efficient people, but teaching them core skills on how to bring people together like
this foundational five, right? How to get the leader's intent, how to develop objectives,
how to coordinate resources, make an org chart, communicate. That is what you do. And there's
some of that baked into the hospital incident command system, but I don't think we should
prescribe these boxes should say these things. And you
should set these units up. Now, I think you should consider like their job aids, hey, consider these
things, and then give people the skills to make those structures themselves. I think the same
thing applies to project management, right? The project management body of knowledge is an
industry standard. So is like the agile, you know, guide and all those things. And they're good. They're guides. I love that. You know, it's a
guide on the agile world. But any of those systems, any of the prescriptive things, we take
the elements, we use them. But if I can teach somebody the core things they need to do,
like the foundational five, then I think they can solve any problem. And I'm going to take what I
need from the PMBOK or from the agile practice guide or from whatever other resource and use it
and teach folks to think on their own, to hit on the big elements, what needs done, who needs to
do it by when, as opposed to it has to go down this road and use these forms and this exact
wording and process. And especially if you're leading teams,
if you're managing programs, you've got to give folks the flexibility to do it their way
while giving them guidance. And it's also good to ask them, do I need to solve this for you
or help you or something like that. But if we can teach people these skills
on what are the bare bones that we need, then we can plan whether it's a sunny day
and we have all our equipment
or it's the worst day and nothing shows up.
But their skills, their simplicity
will make things more efficient
and then we can add on fancy stuff down the road.

to the name of the People Process Progress podcast before this, but the concept and,
but really, again, looking at some of those areas, you know, with some outliers, but
in healthcare and technology and public safety and wellness, which encompasses a whole lot of
things, mind, body, spirit. So I hope your spirit's doing well today. Thank you so much. Remember, have a plan,
