Starting point is 00:00:04 It's January 16th. You're listening to the President's Daily Brief. I'm your host and former CIA Officer Brian Dean Wright. Your morning intel starts now. Folks, today is Martin Luther King Day. It's a national holiday, of course. And rather than do a show today, I'm going to enjoy just a little bit of time off, although mostly I'm going to be answering your emails and prepping for the rest of the week. So here are the issues that I will be researching and writing on today. First, we got some new numbers out on inflation. Good news, actually, on a range of products. Second, America's public schools are losing students. I'll explore with you the reasons for why. And of course, there is the Biden intel scandal. More documents were discovered over the weekend.
Starting point is 00:00:50 And more members of his own party are expressing alarm over the mess that he has created. Meanwhile, on the international front, the prime minister of the Netherlands is in Washington, D.C. tomorrow will probably talk about that. Also in Germany, some climate change activists attacked German police officers over the weekend because a coal mine is expanding operations in that country and those activists are not happy. Next, I'm working on an update to the wheat wars. We've got final numbers over where last year's Ukrainian exports ended up. Turns out it was not too poor African or Asian nations.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Finally, the U.S. Treasury Secretary is heading to Senegal, Zambia, and South Africa over next week. I'll share those details, plus why we should care. I'm also going to cover some interesting news related to our health. For instance, some new research on why obesity is more dangerous for men than women. Also, CNN is reporting that doctors who have been advising the FDA over COVID vaccines are outraged because the U.S. government did not share with them some very important data on COVID vaccines. And that data showed that the latest boosters weren't especially effective and that people who got them were getting infected with COVID more often than those unvaccinated. So lots of good stuff to cover and I can't wait to breathe you all on all that
Starting point is 00:02:15 and more. Now, meanwhile, I hope you all enjoy your holiday. Get some good rest and family time in. When we come back together on Tuesday, we will have a lot to cover as we talk about America and the world. Good day.
