Starting point is 00:00:36 You're listening to the President's Daily Brief. I'm your host and former CIA officer Brian Dean Wright. Your morning intel starts now. A good day to you, ladies and gentlemen. I've got three briefs for you this morning that are shaping America and the world. First, Joe Biden met with China's president yesterday, promising to reduce tensions and work towards peace. But odds are we are heading towards conflict.
Starting point is 00:01:01 I'm going to explain why. Second, a warning from the national. Fire Protection Association about a consumer product and it has to do with dirty green energy. Third, some great news in the fight against cancer. A very simple form of exercise has been found to bring about a very big benefit. I'll explain what it is and the science behind it. Plus, a personal request this morning and it has to do with finding good American companies to promote here on the PDB. With that, my friends, let's get started with our morning briefs. First, Joe Biden, met with China's president yesterday to discuss a number of issues like climate change, North Korea,
Starting point is 00:01:40 and Taiwan. The White House confirmed, however, that it did not talk about compensation for the COVID pandemic, which as we all know originated in China, likely at a bio-weapons lab in the city of Wuhan. Meanwhile, Mr. Biden and China's president, Xi did say that they would work on trying to diffuse a direct confrontation between our two nations. And while that's good, Unfortunately, every indication says that the two nations are headed towards some kind of armed conflict to include war. So this morning, we're going to briefly talk about why that is, and let's start with this. A few weeks back, the Pentagon released a report that summarized which threats in the world against the United States are the greatest. And this year, it's China.
Starting point is 00:02:26 But in fact, it's been China for many years now. But to fully appreciate what that means, I want you to remember that for over. over a decade, that same threat assessment listed Al-Qaeda and radical Islamic terror as America's greatest threat. So imagine if al-Qaeda had the world's largest standing army, which China does. Or that al-Qaeda had 350 nuclear weapons, which China does. Or imagine if al-Qaeda controlled 30% of the world's manufacturing output or was selling fentanyl to Mexican cartels, which led to 100,000, dead Americans, because that's what China is doing. The point, folks, is that China is a far greater threat than al-Qaeda ever was. And whatever pain and struggle that we experienced during the war on
Starting point is 00:03:17 terror, it pales in comparison to China. In fact, that is the message being openly delivered by a growing number of U.S. intelligence and military personnel to include the man who oversees America's nuclear weaponry. Two weeks ago, that man, that man, named Admiral Charles Richard. He's the U.S. commander of Strathcom. He commented publicly on the coming war with China. Now, his comments were later published by the U.S. Department of Defense,
Starting point is 00:03:46 which is very interesting. But here's what he said. Quote, this crisis in Ukraine that we're in right now, that's just the warm up. The big one with China is coming. And it isn't going to be very long before we are tested in ways that we haven't been tested in a very long
Starting point is 00:04:04 time, end quote. He went on to say that, quote, we have to do some rapid fundamental changes in the way that we approach the defense of this nation. So the key takeaway, my friends, is this. No matter what Mr. Biden or President Xi said yesterday officially in Indonesia, the fact of the matter is that the comments that we are hearing from people like Admiral Richard, which by the way echo comments made by his peers in China's military too, well, they all speak to what's really going on behind the scenes and it's what you need to know it's not talk about peace unfortunately rather it's preparation for war with that ladies and gentlemen let's take a quick break and when we come back i've got two more critical pieces of news for you this morning we'll be right back welcome back to the
Starting point is 00:04:55 pdb i've got two more critical pieces of news for you first christmas it's right around the corner and lots of kids and adults will be asking for things, including something called an electric bike. Maybe some of you have these things. They're kind of like an electric motorcycle, but you can still pedal the thing. They've got a battery pack and a little motor that helps a cyclist along if they want to take a break or get some help as they say, you know, go up a steep hill. But that dirty green battery pack is presenting a big, fiery problem.
Starting point is 00:05:29 In New York City, authorities like that, authorities like that, last week acknowledged that a rash of building fires could be traced back to batteries in these e-bikes. According to New York's chief fire marshal, the city has seen an exponential increase in battery fires related to these bikes, including one fire recently that sent 43 people to the hospital. And again, it's happening because those bikes are being powered by lithium ion battery packs, which, as we covered in a dirty green series, those things sometimes explode. And when they do, the fires that they start are incredibly difficult to put out. Firefighters even have to wear hazmat suits because the fumes and the smoke are so poisonous. And if you're wondering how serious
Starting point is 00:06:14 of a problem this might become for America, using these lithium ion batteries, generally speaking, or buying these bikes in particular, well, consider this. A spokesman for the National Fire Protection Association was asked to comment about these e-bikes and the outbreaks of fires. And he said while trying to reassure folks that the lithium ion batteries inside of these e-bikes are, quote, relatively safe, end quote, which isn't exactly reassuring. We want safe, not relatively safe. Now, he added that these batteries and these bikes are relatively safe if, quote, you follow the manufacturer's instructions. Also, you use the correct batteries. Also, you need to store the batteries at the right temperature and also don't lean them up against or near a heater, end quote.
Starting point is 00:07:10 And look, all that's great, but how do you know whether or not you got a correct battery or if your neighbor is storing them at the right temperature and let's say you're in a high-rise building? The answer is you don't. And it's because of those reasonable fears that are growing number of landlords in New York City are banning these devices from their properties. That's according to the media outlet Axios. So folks, I'm flagging this story for you for two reasons. First, there are a lot of kids and adults all across America that are going to be asking for these things for their birthdays or for Christmas. Or maybe you actually already have one of these things in your home.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Either way, you should be extraordinarily careful with these things. Second, these lithium ion batteries and e-bikes have the same type of chemistry that's inside the batteries in electric vehicles. vehicles that America is rushing to embrace. And these problems with e-bikes actually match some of the data that we've seen abroad about electric vehicles. These cars start a fire more often than those fueled by diesel or gas. Now, it's true that some data also say that maybe the problem isn't quite that bad, but still, it's worthy of your consideration if you buy one of these cars or your e-bikes and you park either in your garage.
Starting point is 00:08:28 because if you do, my advice is that you might want to have a plan in place to deal with a fire and be very mindful of storage risks. Because if not, you could end up like one of those poor 43 folks in New York City a couple weeks ago in the hospital and wishing that, well, they'd come up with a better plan. Lastly, folks, I've got some very good news in our battle against cancer. A study from the University of Tel Aviv and Israel found that intense aerobic exercise like sprinting can reduce your risk of metastatic cancer by a whopping 72%. So for those of you who aren't familiar with that medical term, metastatic cancer, it's the type that
Starting point is 00:09:12 spreads from one place to another. Let's say you have a tumor in your lung and that cancer goes into your bloodstream and then other organs. This is what's happening when someone says that their cancer has metastasized. So what researchers wondered was how, exercise might play a role in slowing or stopping cancer from doing that from metastasizing. And they had a theory behind why that might be true. Researchers explained that tumor growth and spread requires a fuel. In this case, it's often glucose or sugar. But when you're doing high intense aerobic exercise, like sprinting or doing something that's called interval training, researchers suspected that our internal organs and all of our
Starting point is 00:09:58 muscles would begin competing for that same fuel, that glucose and sugar. So the idea was with intense exercise, the tumor might have less fuel to work with, that the tumors might be out-competed. And it turns out that the researchers were right. Intense aerobic exercise reduced the risk of cancer metastasizing up to 72%. But folks, it gets even better. One of the men responsible for the research, a man named Professor Carmet Levy. He said that this type of intense exercise can also shrink the size of the primary tumor by the same mechanism, you know, starving it of glucose. So if you or a loved one are dealing with cancer this morning, talk to your doctors about this research, because maybe it'll work for you. And for what it's worth, this exercise routine, it's pretty simple.
Starting point is 00:10:49 You just got to get your blood pumping. About 80 to 85% of your maximum pulse rate. So to translate that into actual exercise, You do say a one-minute sprint followed by walking and then another one-minute sprint. Do that as often as is appropriate for you. Plus, for those of us who don't have cancer, it might be time to toss in some high-intensity cardio into our lives too, because maybe, just maybe, not only will we be burning fat and trimming our waistline, but we might just be saving our lives in the long term.
Starting point is 00:11:25 And with that, ladies and gentlemen, we conclude your own. morning brief, but I've got one more thing before I let you go. It's a personal request, so we'll be right back. Starting point is 00:12:33 Seeful terms at mintmobile.com. Welcome back to the PDB, my friends. I've got one more thing before I let you go. Today's first brief about China had another element that I actually didn't raise with you, and that's how important it is to bring home American businesses from Asia. Because if a war comes, we will need those companies and those industries to produce their goods here at home. It's an idea called reshoring, bringing back companies to our shores. So the good news is that it's actually already happening.
Starting point is 00:13:06 So for instance, construction of new manufacturing facilities in the U.S. has gone up 116% over the past year. Or also considered that a recent survey of American business executives showed that more than 90% of them said that either they were in the process of moving production out of China or had plans to do so. Finally, a report out last week from the reshoring initiative showed that 350,000 jobs from abroad will come home to America this year, with 44% of those jobs coming from China alone. So I raised this good news with you because we need to do our part as consumers to support it, to buy those American-made products and encourage more businesses to come home. And there's no better time to do that than right before Christmas when we're buying gifts. So here's my request.
Starting point is 00:13:58 Send me an email with your favorite American company who makes products here in America. Better yet, if you know someone at those companies, please let me know. And if you're willing, broker an introduction. I'm going to have my awesome marketing folks reach out to whomever you recommend and see if we can't work with them. And then, if so, I'm going to tell everybody about those products. And maybe you can put some of those under your Christmas tree this year. And that way, we will all be doing our part as a prospect. of war grows ever more likely with China.
Starting point is 00:14:29 So here's my email address as always. PDB at thefirstTV.com. Again, that's P as in presidents, D as in daily, and B as in brief, at thefirsttv.com. So folks, I really want to say thank you truly for considering and possibly even brokering these connections. It means the absolute world to me, and it could mean so much to all of us if we do this right. And that, ladies and gentlemen, concludes your morning brief. As always, we close out the show reminding each other of why we are here, talking about our country and our world.
Starting point is 00:15:16 It's the creed of every good spy and every smart American. It's from John, chapter 8, verse 32. And you shall know the truth. And the truth shall make you free. Good day.
