Live from the headquarters of Ramsey Solutions, broadcasting from the Dollar Car Rental Studios,
it's the Dave Ramsey Show, where debt is dumb, cash is king,
and the paid-off home mortgage has taken the place of the BMW as the status symbol of choice.
I'm Dave Ramsey, your host. Thank you for joining us, open phones this hour,
as we talk about your life and your money. Dr. John Deloney joins me, Ramsey, your host. Thank you for joining us, Open Phones, this hour as we talk about your life and your money.
Dr. John Deloney joins me, Ramsey personality.
He will be doing his Message of Hope in the Message of Hope series tonight.
And he will be discussing the mental and relational health during a time of crisis. He's done a lot of crisis coaching over the years
and joins us to talk about just your life and relationships in general
and to help you with those things.
And then about the time he gets on board, boom, we walk into this mess
and he's here just in time.
So God's timing for him joining this team.
He's here to answer your questions.
You have relationship questions or anxiety, fear questions during these times.
It's okay.
That's what we're here for.
A lot of people are scared right now.
And I guess there's a difference between being concerned to worried to afraid to panicked to hysteria.
There's probably a spectrum there, isn't there?
It's okay to be afraid.
It's not okay to live in fear.
And it sounds kind of like they're similar, but they're very distant.
And one is when that thought comes in your head, that emotion rises up.
That's real.
You acknowledge it.
You feel it.
You feel scared.
You feel nervous.
You feel frustrated.
That's real.
Acknowledge it.
That's good.
It's then when you feed it and you go finding other places that validate that frustration or
that fear that anger whatever that emotion is and now you're living in it now you're just jumping in
a sewage pool to go swim swim laps yeah so but but what happens that causes our fears inputs
we take in some kind of a sensory input that activates our fear. We see something on
television, we go, oh no, we're all going to die. I tell you, honestly, I'm not a fearful person,
but like anyone else, I experience fear. There's no question about that. I'll tell you one thing
that got me. We were in New York City before they shut it down two weeks ago. You were up there.
When we turned the corner to leave that morning, on a Friday morning,
and the streets were completely empty.
I've never seen New York City like that.
I've been going up there for 30, 40 years doing media and different things.
It looked like a movie.
New York City with nobody on the street.
And I felt my stomach come up into my throat.
It became visceral and real. Yeah, the visual of that, I kind of went, oh, my God.
And it didn't last.
I didn't camp there.
And so I didn't live in fear, to make your distinction a while ago.
But I think the visual inputs, and I felt a little bit of that
when I just turned to come down the interstate today,
you know, come to the office to do the show.
So few cars on the road.
Two people on the road, and it's always back-to-back bumper-to-bumper down through there.
And so it's just the weirdness, you know, the zombie apocalypse look of this stuff, that shakes you up.
And then, of course, if you watch the television oh my god
those inputs will blow your brains out right um and the constant feed of every little thing we
have to do a head count on cases and a head count on layoffs and a head count on deaths and a head
count on and it's just this constant thing coming at you. Inputs will blow your brains out.
They really will.
Yeah, they'll melt you, and that goes into one of those control your controllables, Ben.
I can control my inputs.
We couldn't control, and we turned the corner, and we saw that and that visceral feeling,
and then we had a decision to make, and that is, am I going to?
We're getting out of here.
Well, that was it, right?
We're getting out of here. But the other was. I don't want to be trapped in New York. we're getting out of here well that was it right we're getting out of here but the other was i don't be trapped in new york i'm getting out of here we can we can read
every headline and go down a rabbit hole of where are the people and what's happening and how you're
gonna die you know because you always extend the worst case scenario exponentially out into the
future and that's how our bodies survive is to say if it's happening here this could happen that's
natural what's not natural is to say you know what i'm not going to feed that i'm not going
to chase down that rabbit hole i'm going to take care of what i can control right now yeah i have
i've had my moments dave i've had a moment the other day where i just started crying i was writing
something for for a blog post and i just got choked up emotional like this is different it's
gonna be something that my kids remember that my wife and i remember and then i had to finish the blog post and hit sit right and so um i could curl
up and be there and i'm not tougher or better than anybody else but i'm gonna feel my feelings i'm
gonna acknowledge them they're real they're scary and um and then i'm gonna go about taking care of
the things i can take care of yeah did you know i might get laid off yeah but you hadn't been
that's right. And so.
So I'm going to grind every day.
I'm going to give you the best work I've got underneath in this little meaty head of mine.
And if it comes to it, then it comes to it.
And then I'm going to figure out plan B for me and my family.
All right.
Starting this hour off is going to be Kathy in Washington.
Hi, Kathy.
How are you?
Hey, Kathy.
Hi, Dave. I've been waiting for probably
15 years to ask you this. How are you? Better than I deserve. Oh, I'm just such a fangirl.
Thank you so much. I do have a question, but I just wanted to start off with a quick thank you.
We've been following you for years, and we live like you preach. And this crisis has hit us
in a way that we're like, okay, we've got money in the bank. We're all right. So I just want to
thank you for that. It's been a lot of peace and a lot of turmoil. Good. I'm glad for you. Good job.
I'm proud of you. Yeah. So my question, and oh, and welcome, Dr. John.
My question for you is I have people in my life like where I get manicures or I get my hair done or I get a massage.
And we're all worried about the restaurant workers, but these people are out of work too.
I contacted my manicurist and she she runs a business she
owns a shop she's got nothing now and i asked her i said can i prepay for 10 services she's like no
that would be a loan i can't do that dave wouldn't approve and um yes i would that's not a loan it's
a prepaid service that's kind of what I thought.
It's like buying a gift card to a restaurant.
If you have a favorite neighborhood restaurant that's independently owned
and you want to support them and you go buy a $1,000 gift card there,
that's not, yes, that's prepaying for service.
They could close.
You may never get it.
But it's advanced payment.
I don't consider that a loan.
No, I would do that in a heartbeat.
The only other thing is they're proud people, you know, hardworking women.
How do you feel about just sending them a check?
We're doing fine.
We're still working.
Well, I think it would be easier for them to accept prepayment than it would charity
oh fair enough my guess i don't care either one's fine if you want to do either one that's fine but
um and you know you can just leave an envelope of money and that i mean that way they don't
know where it comes from if you want to do that in her mailbox i don't care
but uh oh that's a good idea.
People do that kind of stuff too.
I like getting paid for service, for work.
Yeah.
I mean, there's a dignity to that for sure.
But what a wonderful heart you've got.
Congratulations.
What a gift.
You've got a lot of people in your situation that are being outrageously generous right now.
Hey, those of you that are in her position, triple, quadruple your tips everywhere you
go.
If you're going through a drive-thru, drop a $100 bill on a teenager and blow their mind
as you go through there.
It does blow their mind.
Believe me, it's fun.
It's really fun.
So, yeah, you can do some stuff like that right now, and that helps with your inputs
as well.
Are high health care costs getting you down?
Are you confused trying to navigate your options?
Do you wish you could find an affordable, biblical solution to your health care costs? Based on New Testament principles, Christian Health Care Ministries, or CHM,
helps Christian families, churches, and ministries join together as the body of Christ to share their major health care costs.
Christian Health Care Ministries is the original health cost-sharing ministry.

CHM members share to pay each other's medical bills.
It's not insurance.
It's Christians financially and spiritually supporting each other.

on that page we got lots of digital things there that we can help you with a lot of them are free
my during the break my senior vice president over live events just email me we're canceling
or postponing rather our live events that we've got in April and a few of them in May
in Dallas and Anaheim and Indianapolis, Chicago and Baton Rouge.
The Dallas event is postponed to October the 1st.
So we will be coming to each one of these cities and doing an event.
It'll likely be in the fall.
Some of them might actually be in the summer.
We'll just see when we can get some venues lined up.
We've just got to have a place to do it. And these folks, you know, where we're doing these, we don't control these properties.
They control them. So we're postponing. We will be coming and honoring your tickets. We're just
not getting there right now. And again, the Dallas has already moved to October the 1st. So
looking forward to that. But we have the Financial Peace live events, and he just emailed me during the break.
We have one of those that we did in Charleston, South Carolina,
and we're going to put that on the Internet.
We'll put it up on a stream and allow you to watch it for free.
Just put it out there because we're not doing events right now anyway,
so you might as well watch one of them.
And we'll post that when we get ready to do it at DaveRamsey.com.
And if you've been laid off and you want to go through our corporate curriculum
that HR departments put in for their employees on financial wellness,
which is the things we teach, getting on a budget, getting out of debt,
all that kind of stuff, It's called Smart Dollar.
If you've been laid off, you can go through for free through the end of the year.
If your company registers with us, we will tell anyone that they have laid off to go through for free,
and your company can take their current employees through on a free trial right now if they want.
So we're trying to get this information that's so life-giving in the middle of a mess
to give you something to work on, because when you're working on something,
it gives you a sense of power in a time when you feel powerless.
And that's just really, really important.
All right, Susan is with us in Arizona.
Hi, Susan.
Your question for Dr. D.
Hi, Dr. D. Thank question for Dr. D. Hi, Dr. D.
Thank you for taking my call.
And, Dave, you've been an asset in my life for a very long time.
I bless you.
Well, thank you, darling.
How can we help?
Yeah, I'm a senior citizen.
I'm physically fit, but I have some underlying conditions like most people do as you go through life.
I was originally going to babysit my 11-year-old grandson in California during this process.
My daughter just received a job finally.
Thank God, great job, and she's all excited about it.
And as the days went by, I started getting apprehensive.
She lives with a gentleman who has a full-time job as well,
and I said, no, I'm just afraid, simply afraid of coming out there.
I don't think it would be wise,
and I think you can make other arrangements within the family structure.
Because of the coronavirus?
Well, yes.
Right, of course.
Okay.
Just making sure I understood what you're afraid of.
Okay.
Yeah.
Ever since then, she's disowned me, so to speak,
and I have no contact with my beloved grandson, and I'm no good.
So I'm going to tell you you are good, Susan.
You are good.
And what I'm going to ask you to do is to give some people some grace and forgiveness right now because everybody's scared.
People get scared.
They make emotional, reactional decisions.
And it sounds like you're doing what you've been asked to do by the government,
and I know that's inconvenient. And the medical professional.
Right, medical professional.
If you've got underlying medical conditions, and how old are you?
I'm in my 70s.
Okay.
Then you're supposed to stay home.
I mean, you're an at-risk person in this situation.
I know.
And she doesn't understand that? I'm confused.
Well, it's at the risk of saying too much about myself. I am an athlete and a marathoner.
Oh, because you're in good shape, you should be able to come on anyway. Is that what you're saying?
Even though I have a controlled thyroid condition.
But I'm saying, my point is, even with all of that, you qualify.
You're in a category.
I know.
And my wife just turned 60, so we've been joking with her.
She's in the category too, but I'm not, because I don't turn 60 until September.
So we're joking around about it right but the truth the truth is you're you're you're in very good
condition but you're in the category that you're not supposed to be uh you know you you need to be
very very careful agreed agreed and that's what you're scared of so why is she mad at you for that? I don't understand. Because it was inconvenient for her plans?
I have to say yes.
She has to make other arrangements.
And obviously she's just pulling short of, you know, ragging on her.
I'm sure this is not the only reason why she's angry,
but this just precipitated it.
This was a straw.
You bet.
Right down in her mind that, yeah.
I feel so guilty and so unhappy that, you know, I call my grandson.
I don't say anything.
I just say, I love you.
Have a good day.
And there's no response.
And so I'm going to recommend, Susan, I would write letters.
And one of the neatest things is when we get letters in the house in the mail and do some things that you can control.
Because right now your daughter's made a statement, rightly or wrongly.
That's not for us to judge or be a part of.
But you've got to do what you've got to do.
And so you can speak and be a part of your grandbaby's life by writing letters, things he's going to be able to hold and read and have for years and years and years.
And you can continue to take care of your physical fitness.
And I think it's wise to continue to reach out to your daughter.
Tell your lover.
Send her a letter too.
And then go find your community there in Arizona where you are. But to continue to replay this thing over and over in your mind, again, is choosing to – and I know that sounds callous and hard, but you're going to have to decide to not live in someone else's decisions and then do the things that you can do each day to uplift yourself and to get yourself back on the saddle here.
So write letters, send gifts, let your daughter know that you love her and like
you mentioned it sounds like there's more to it than this one situation and um there may be a
legacy here and so start small with letters and go from there yeah and maybe there's some things
can be done in a few months that are different than now time does heal a lot of stuff karen's
with us in Colorado.
Hi, Karen.
Welcome to the Dave Ramsey Show.
Hey, how are y'all doing?
Better than I deserve.
How can I help?
Well, I'm going to try to make the question pretty condensed.
I'm kind of robbing Peter to pay Paul right now. I'm barely keeping my head above water. My household before I got divorced was making a
little over 100K a year. And now on my own, I'm only making about 30K. And how long have you been
divorced? Two years. Okay. So I always feel... This is not new news. No, not new news. It's just
me living paycheck to paycheck.
I don't have savings.
I don't have retirement.
My credit's gone downhill.
I feel like I'm in such a deep hole.
What do you do for a living?
I am the housing coordinator for a nonprofit.
Yeah, okay.
You probably need a new career.
Your pay sucks.
And you probably needed some long-term game plans there
to change that.
And let me do this.
You're still recovering from the divorce.
Your career is, everything else is.
So hold on and we'll walk with you.
We'll get you signed up for the 14-day free trial
at Financial Peace.
And I'm going to give you Ken Coleman's book,
The Proximity Principle,
to help on the career side of things.
But that's what you're facing, is the emotional and the financial recovery is still in tow
two years later.
It's time to move past it as quick as you can.
This is The Dave Ramsey Show. We'll be right back. Up next is Anne in Massachusetts.
Hi, Anne.
Welcome to the Dave Ramsey Show.
Hi, Dave.
Hi.
How can we help?
Quick question. I have $10,000 in cash. I have $30,000 in debt.
Should I pile up more money or pay off more debt and continue down the baby steps?
I'm just worried if I need more cash this time of year.
In the middle of this mess. Well, what's your income situation?
I make $130,000.
Okay.
How stable is it?
Pretty stable.
What do you do?
I do webcast producing.
You do what?
Webcast producing.
Okay.
And so what do you think the probability is that your income goes away in the next 60 days based on what's going on?
I would say very little, but leadership has said the L and the F word, layoff and furlough, so that does make me worry.
Okay.
All right.
If they've said those things out loud, then I would probably hold my cash.
Okay.
And you're not really in the middle of the baby steps.
You just push pause and pile up cash for everything as much as you cash. Okay. And you're not really in the middle of the baby steps. You just push pause and pile up cash for everything as much as you can.
Okay.
And just, you know, that's your umbrella.
That's what you're, you know, it sounds like you're not super worried about a storm,
but there is one a-brewing in your particular life.
Yeah, probably like a 5% chance.
Yeah.
Yeah, so I might hold on to it for a little while and just make sure.
If somebody says that out loud, then that's a good thing to, you know, to think through.
So, hey, good question.
Thank you for joining us.
John, when you're doing crisis stuff, you always say facts are your friends.
And so what I'm always trying to do, I use that all the time.
I didn't know I was using it until I met you.
I didn't have a verbiage for it.
But what is really going on, you know, with your job?
In other words, not what you're afraid of, not what might happen,
but what really is going on is they really said out loud
a possibility of layoffs they really said a possibility of furloughs they really said that
that wasn't um uh you you were just kind of vaguely afraid management might do that and so
that's a fact as far as i'm concerned agreed in fact and so that's different than a vague worry
about the craziness that's going on out there.
And I also, right, and the impetus sometimes is on us, is to respectfully ask your boss, your leader, where are we?
Where are we headed?
And that's you gathering facts in a respectful and dignified way.
But, again, getting true information and not letting the Internet or not letting your friends calling you on the phone telling you that you should be panicked. Dictate what you're going to do.
Absolutely.
Open phones at 888-825-5225.
Joining me today on the show, Dr. John Deloney, Ramsey Personality.
He will be giving his message of hope tonight for the series,
the message of hope series that we've been doing.
Rachel Cruz was on Monday night, Chris Hogan on Tuesday,
Wednesday, Christy Wright, John is tonight.
You can listen to any and all of these messages
and, you know, check it out at our websites,
our YouTube channels, and so forth.
John will be on DaveRamsey.com tonight,
and you get to watch him there.
And the whole point is just being calm, and so forth. John will be on DaveRamsey.com tonight and you get to watch him there and the
whole point is just
being calm, keeping your mind
clear and don't get
to the
point that your emotions are
keeping you from making good
quality decisions
and that's the whole process. So tonight
he'll be covering the mental and relational health
during times of crisis.
He'll probably say all those things again.
But you really can't hear them too much.
I can't hear them too much.
Ryan's in Texas.
Hey, Ryan, your question for us.
Yes, sir.
My church is looking into the payroll protection loans offered through the SBA as part of the CARES Act, and I'm just wondering if you view this particular loan differently
since they lay out pretty clearly that it is going to be forgiven
if used on payroll, rent, those kinds of things.
No, I don't view it differently. It's debt.
And you're dealing with the SBA, which is a slow-moving, cumbersome bureaucracy,
and that means when they're making the loan or when they're forgiving it.
And, you know, if you didn't know, there's a student loan program that says
if you work in an underserved area, your student loans will be forgiven.
And you know what?
They're not doing it.
Yep.
Because of the bureaucracy that's involved,
the Department of Education has gotten involved and screwed that up,
and a lot of people did student loans with the betting on that forgiveness.
And I wouldn't do these SBA loans betting on the forgiveness.
Gotcha.
So we're advising churches and small businesses to avoid those now there's a tax
write-off for your payroll tax and i'll be taking that you can bet on that uh avoiding you know that
that payment uh to add to cash flow you know anytime i can keep from sending Washington money, I'll do that. But, no, I'm not going into debt on promises that the SBA or Congress makes.
I'm sorry.
I'm more cynical than that.
They can screw up Christmas up there, and I'm just not doing it.
So thanks for the call.
I appreciate you asking for clarification on that.
Bianca is with us.
Bianca is in Georgia.
Hi, Bianca.
Welcome to the Dave Ramsey Show.
Your question for Dr. D and me.
Hi there.
I am a saver, and I'm also on disability.
And I've been on disability for a long time due to back problems
and a lot of other problems.
But being a saver, have actually um taken out went ahead
and paid my mortgage in advance by three months because i was worried about how things were going
to work out didn't know there may be a shutdown or anything like that.
Okay.
What's your question? I went ahead and paid the mortgage and my utilities in advance for only three months,
and I paid them from my checking, not my savings and not my 401K from when I worked years ago.
And everyone's telling me, you you idiot you shouldn't have done that
what a mistake you've made so I'm feeling guilty about that I don't have any debt only thing I have
is my house are you out did that did that drain your accounts are you out of money oh gosh no I
have about 10,000 in cash so why are you an idiot i don't understand why you're
an idiot then because most people think i should have just used a credit card if i wanted to get
groceries or something like that and i don't well now we know who the idiot is and it's not you
bianca i regularly pay more i just don't like paying bills and so i i overpay my electric bill and my water bill just
because i don't like paying bills and so i like getting those bills nope i like doing it too it's
not probably not the wisest roi on my money but it's an roi on my soul so i do the same thing
and my friends call me an idiot too so you're in good company yeah and you know if you put stuff
on credit card by definition that makes you an idiot So you're the opposite of that. I'm not sure I would have prepaid everything, but that doesn't put you in the idiot category at all,
especially since you're still sitting on plenty of cash and you've got the peace of mind of knowing that your utilities and your mortgage are at least out there 90 days from now.
I'm more worried about people who are feeling fear, Dave, and they're trying to concoct some kind of plan, some kind of something, right?
Do I go get a bunch of cash or do I go prepay everything?
Stay the course, right?
Especially if you don't have debt, take care of the stuff the way you normally
want to take care of it.
And that part of your brain is trying to tell you to run and do something,
do something, and that's when you end up selling your stocks
or that's when you end up mouthing off to your mom and not letting her come.
I mean, you just do stuff you normally wouldn't do in the name of trying to come up with some new plan
to solve some situation that may or may not be here yet.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
Don't panic.
There you go.
Don't panic.
Joining me this hour, Dr. John Deloney, right here on The Dave Ramsey Show. Thank you. our scripture of the day psalm 94 19 when anxiety was great with me, your consolation brought me joy.
Maya Angelou said,
You will face many defeats in your life, but never let yourself be defeated.
Up next is Ryan in Idaho.
Hey, Ryan, welcome to the Dave Ramsey Show.
Hey, Dave, how are you doing?
Better than I deserve. What's up?
Awesome.
So I'll make this pretty quick.
Ten years ago, I followed your program,
and it took me five years to pay off all my debt.
I put the money in the bank, put the money in savings,
and I had money in checking.
At the end of that five years, of course, like I said, I did pay off my debt.
It was awesome to become debt-free.
I had money in the bank, and I could tell my money where I was able to go.
Cool.
A few short months later, go ahead.
I said cool.
Oh, yeah.
A few short months later, I met this girl.
You know, it was great.
We spent some good time together.
Uh-oh, he met a girl, and then he got disconnected.
How many stories end like that?
So I met a girl, and that's the last we heard of him.
Hey, Ryan, that happened to me, too, a few times.
And so we're with you, brother.
We'll put you on hold, brother, see if we can get that phone working again.
All right, Eric's with us in Pennsylvania.
Hey, Eric, how are you?
Good, Dave.
How are you doing?
Better than I deserve.
What's up?
Well, I just want to tell you, about a year ago, my wife and I read two of your books, and we were able to pay off all our debt, stash away a good three-month emergency fund,
and pretty much are debt-free outside of our mortgage.
So it's really been great.
So we thank you for that.
Good for you.
My question is, obviously with everything going on right now, it's just insanity.
I have worked steadily for the last 20 years.
I've never collected before.
And recently my job had the layoff because of the whole situation.
My question is, I'm looking at other jobs nonstop.
I'm filling out applications right now.
And I'm not seeing anything in our area that is close to what I was making.
So my question is, should I not take it easy or utilize the system,
but in my head I'm thinking, do I do that for two or three months
until this blows over,
and then hopefully there's some other things that would be
in a more comparable salary range,
or do I just grab what I can get and try to make it work?
And that's kind of where I'm scratching my head right now.
Well, on the short term, I mean, your unemployment check,
there's nothing wrong with that at all.
That's what unemployment is designed for on the short term.
If you go two or three months and they're the economy is not uh is not back to work
we've got bigger problems than your income at that point shutting down the economy and putting
people in their homes for two weeks is astronomical for three months or two months. I don't know if this United States recovers from that.
So at some point, the political rhetoric is going to shift from the virus to the economy.
And that's not to say the virus isn't a huge problem
and we don't want anybody to be sick or anybody to die but at some point we're going to
have to choose between uh the virus flattening of the curve and the existence of america uh because
it's going to get it's going to get completely out of hand and uh i don't know how much longer
these people can keep americans in their homes voluntarily,
and Americans aren't going to do it for a lot longer.
And the more they clamp down, the harder it's going to get.
They're going to create a reaction,
and I'm afraid it's not going to be pretty if they don't slow down on this stuff.
So anyway, bottom line is, I'm just mouthing, but the bottom line is, in your situation,
I would take the unemployment and whatever employment you can find.
But I just don't want you to project this out two or three months because I honestly
don't want anybody projecting it out that far because I don't understand the medical side of it.
I do understand the economic side of it, and it will be a horrible situation that we'll find ourselves in at that point.
You won't be worrying about unemployment checks by then. You'll be worrying about other things, the level of violence in the streets
and the breakdown of government
and the breakdown of order
because people are not going to be told
to stay in their homes for very long in this country.
It's just they're not going to.
Some of you are willing to do that,
but the shredding of constitutional rights and freedom is just not going to go on a whole lot longer.
You're not going to be able to maintain it.
It's just not a real expectation of normal humans.
I'm talking to way too many people that are already so upset about being pushed around and jacked around over this thing.
And it's not that they don't think that the virus is serious,
but the violation of constitutional rights is, and people taking power,
and some of these mayors acting like they have the power of martial law is,
it's honestly, it's out of hand.
So, I mean, you can put up with it for a little while and be civilized
and say we certainly want everybody to be healed
and we want this virus to be going away,
and we'll hold our nose and hold our breath a little bit
and let you guys do this for a little while.
But I just don't think that there's a chance under the sun
that any amount of governmental interference is going to keep
people in their homes for months on end there's just the americans are just not going to do that
and so um i i sure hope that it's a voluntary thing on the government's part before things
start coming unraveled that they that they back away from uh the uh the abuse of power that they back away from the abuse of power that they're engaging in.
And if you people won't behave, we're going to send you to your room.
This stuff is good luck with that.
Good luck with that, Governor.
It's not going to work.
It's not going to work.
You're not dealing with people that are, you're not dealing with four-year-olds. So, I mean, I understand that it's a good health policy,
and to convince people to do it is one thing than the other thing.
So we'll see.
We'll see.
I sure hope it's short-lived, but you have a people here that liberty is in our DNA,
and that's a problem.
That's a serious, serious problem.
So I sure hope everybody stays calm and gentle and kind to each other and generous to each other,
and then there's a reversal of some of these trends that are going the wrong direction right now.
So good luck with that.
But, yeah, in a very basic tactical thing, yes, I would take the unemployment check,
and, yes, I would, you know, get a job that you can get,
but I wouldn't project it out three months because if you project it out past three months, the return, the coming back
is not going to happen.
So it's just not an option.
We'll have a level of anarchy at that point that none of us ever anticipated we'd ever
see in our lifetimes.
So I hope that helps, but good luck with that.
