This is 5-Minute Friday!
This episode will transform your life dramatically,
only if you apply it and put these things into action.
And I'm going to share this quote with Sam Silverstein,
who said,
Accountability is the basis of all meaningful human achievement.
Accountability is the key ingredient to becoming successful. It's one of
the keys along with self-belief and self-confidence. Many people don't achieve their dreams because
they lose sight of their vision or they don't put in the work or they don't have the consistent
inspiration of that vision. And accountability takes care of this. When you're being held
accountable and responsible to your
commitments, to your goals, to your vision, to your dream, you're constantly being reminded about them.
You have a force that's guiding you, that's pushing you to do the work every single day.
And hopefully the person or community that's holding you accountable inspires you as well.
So in this episode, I'm going to share the five separate ways you can add accountability to your life while you pursue your goals and dreams so that you can accomplish them.
Number one is to reach out to top performers, people that are inspiring to you, people that are models for you, people that have already achieved what you want to achieve.
This is something that I did early on on LinkedIn.
Twelve years ago, I would reach out to leaders in my community who were models of success,
who had already accomplished the things I wanted to do. I would reach out, I would ask them
questions, and just by being in the conversation with them, they would guide me, they would mentor
me, they would inspire me, and they would hold me accountable. So reach out to top performers
because they've already done it and they can inspire you and guide you along the way. Number
two, find an accountability partner. We accomplish our goals way more often when we have accountability partners.
This is someone you can check in with from time to time. You don't have to pay for this person.
They hold you accountable to your goals. This can be a friend, a colleague, a peer, a family member.
The effects of accountability are so much stronger when you and your partner have similar goals so
you can grow together with them. Think about it. When you go to the gym alone, it's really hard to go every day
to the gym and do a hard workout. When you have someone holding you accountable who's going with
you, you tend to push each other more. It's just natural in life as well. This could be your career
goals, your relationship goals, or anything else. So find an accountability partner and you can also
find websites online, groups, free groups on Facebook or wherever else. So find an accountability partner. And you can also find websites online,
groups, free groups on Facebook or wherever else to get in touch with accountability partners
and create incentives for each of you to reach your goals. So what's the incentive? What's the
thing that's going to be meaningful at the end of the day when you accomplish your goal?
Number three, find your tribe. Just having one accountability partner can do incredible
wonders for you.
But when you surround yourself with a community, a group of people who inspire you and hold
you accountable, then this adds to another layer of accountability and being even stronger
for you to accomplish your goals.
Think about it again.
Let's do the gym analogy.
You go to the gym alone.
You can get certain results.
It's really hard to show up all the time.
When you go and you have an accountability partner, you're going to push yourself more. When you have a team and you have a common goal as a
team and a community, whether it's a CrossFit gym or a sport you're playing, you show up not only
for the person next to you, but for the entire team. You layer accountability, which allows you
to accomplish your goals faster, pushes you more. It creates that urgency, that sense of connection
as well. You can do this in fitness, you can do this in life,
or you can join a mastermind in business.
This is a great way to build community
of like-minded people who are in your space.
This is something that we did for years.
I've been a part of masterminds
and it's always helped me grow financially.
When I have a workout buddy and then I have a coach
and I have a group of people I'm working out with,
you're always gonna work out harder. This is what you should be doing in your business as well.
Number four, help other people. Sometimes when you help someone else, it gives you that motivation
and inspiration back. And helping others is a great way to build, paying it forward,
serving other people, helping them. It'll support you with accountability in your own self because
when you try to help someone else and give them some feedback, give them some support,
it makes you want to step up as well in your life so you can be the model that inspires them.
And the people you serve will hold you accountable to keep doing what you're doing.
I can only imagine, I don't have kids, but I can only imagine the moment I have a child that I'm
going to want to become a better person because I know I'm going to be helping that individual and
I want to be a model for them. So you got to be thinking about
that as well in your life. Be the model for someone else and help someone else. And number
five is to get a high performance coach. Get some type of coach that you invest in. Again,
having a accountability is great. When you pay for it from someone that you respect, this is really
when things start to pay off because you pay attention to what you pay for.
So when you invest in it, you say, this is meaningful.
This is why I'm investing in this thing
because I care about the results.
I care about the process.
And that's why coaches are so valuable
in every area of life, not just sports.
Not only do they hold you accountable
to your goals and your commitments,
but they also do everything in their power to guide you,
to inspire you, to steer you away from mistakes
so you don't waste time and energy.
In every area of my life, I've had coaches and I have them today.
From sports to business to relationships and everything else, the accountability for my
coaches have been a game changer.
And all the great people that I interview, all the great athletes continue to remind
me that they would not be where they are without great coaches.
And accountability was the number one reason why I started my greatness coaching program as well.
Because too many people in this audience specifically
didn't have the accountability
that they needed to achieve their dreams.
So I built the program that combines coaching,
community, and high-performance techniques
to create the ultimate system
for accountability and achievement.
And you can find out if you're a good fit
for the greatness coaching experience
at lewishouse.com slash myco coach to check out and see if this is the right
program for you. And there you have it. Number one, reach out to top performers. Number two,
find an accountability partner. Number three, find your tribe or an accountability community
to layer and stack this accountability. Number four, help other people because when you give
to others,
you've got to step up as the model in their life to show them what's possible for them.
And number five is to get a high performance coach and you can check it out. Greatness
coaching at lewishouse.com slash my coach to see if you're the right fit for the experience we've
created for this community. I'm telling you the power of accountability will take your life to
the next level. You just need to take action on these steps so you can start to unlock it.
And you don't need to do all these steps at once, but start doing some of them.
It'll definitely support you.
And I'll leave you with this quote that I love.
I'm such a fan of this quote from Chris Lee, who was just recently on our show, who said,
being held accountable is someone saying, I love you.
Think about that.
Being held accountable is someone saying I love you think about that being held accountable
is someone saying I love you and if no one's told you lately you are loved
you're worthy and you matter
