Starting point is 00:00:00 This is 5-Minute Friday! We all face adversity in our lives. Some of us were born in adversity. Some of us experience adversity later. We go through breakups. We lose our jobs. There might be physical pains we go through. There might be deaths in the family.
Starting point is 00:00:24 We all have emotional and physical adversity that we face some of us bigger than others but it's still big to us it doesn't matter what it is and the challenges a lot of us don't know how to break through and embrace that adversity to turn it into our advantage to use it as part of our story as leverage instead we allow that leverage to hold us back. I'm constantly bringing on inspiring individuals who face extreme adversity to show you what's possible for your life, to show you that you can embrace and move through. When you hear stories of these extreme adverse situations and you see how they came out on top, it's proof
Starting point is 00:01:07 that you can do it as well. So I want you to think about a moment in your life right now. Maybe you're facing adversity. Maybe you're going through an emotional challenge. Maybe you're going through a physical challenge. Maybe you're going through a breakup or you've just lost your job. Think of it not as a curse or not as something that's going to hold you back, but use it as leverage to move you forward. And I want to talk about the power of gratitude. Every day I'm constantly expressing gratitude. I ask my guests, what are you most grateful for?
Starting point is 00:01:38 And there's a reason I do this. There's a reason every morning I wake up and express what I'm grateful for. There's a reason on my voice message when someone calls me, I ask them to tell me what they're most grateful for first before they leave a message. There's a reason before I go to bed, I write down the three things I'm most grateful for. And I'm constantly expressing gratitude towards those who are supporting me around me. There's a reason I do this. And the reason is because the more you are grateful for, the more you'll have coming in. And the more you are upset about,
Starting point is 00:02:11 the more you are concerned with what you're lacking, what you're not grateful for, you'll get more of that in your life as well. So whatever you're grateful for or not grateful for, you'll get more of it. So what I want you to do is take on a daily practice of gratitude, whatever that looks like to you, however that works for you. And then I want you to reply back and let me know what happened.
Starting point is 00:02:31 I think you'll be fascinated with the results you create in your life by expressing gratitude towards the people that matter to you the most and also expressing to yourself what you're most grateful for on a daily basis. What does greatness mean to you? Now, if you've been listening to my podcast for a while, you'll notice that at the end of every episode, I ask a final question. And that question is, what's your definition of greatness? And the reason I ask that is twofold. One, because we find out that greatness comes from within.
Starting point is 00:03:01 That's number one. And number two, we discovered that greatness has many definitions. Everyone has their own answer of what greatness means to them. And it doesn't matter if you're a mom looking to inspire your family, if you're an entrepreneur looking to get to the next level, if you're an athlete trying to achieve your dreams, or if you're just someone in the world who wants to get to the next place in their life. We understand that greatness is different for everyone and that it's available for everyone as well. It doesn't matter where you are at. So I want you to write down your definition of greatness. I want you to share with me what it
Starting point is 00:03:36 means to you right now. And it can evolve over time. It can grow. It can expand. It can change. So it doesn't have to be perfect. And that's another thing. Greatness does not mean perfection. It means giving your best with where you're at right now. So define what greatness means to you. And I'm curious to see what your definition of greatness is. I'll see you guys soon. Thank you.
