This is episode number 447, 5-Minute Friday, Be the Hardest Worker in the World.
Again, another clip from our Wunderlust event that I hosted in January, and this is one
from my man Steve Weatherford, the NFL Super Bowl champion punter.
I hope you guys enjoy.
On one singular day, 47 miles from my hometown, Indianapolis, Indiana, Super Bowl 46, 78 million people watching on TV.
And I had the greatest game of my life, you know, and it wasn't the preparation of the week before the game.
It wasn't the meditation that I had 10 minutes before kickoff, it was 20 years of sacrifice,
20 years of grind, 20 years of really putting my vision before myself. And I have been able,
because of that achievement, I have been able to have so many doors open to me.
Steve Weatherford, I'm a football player.
I'm a Super Bowl champion.
Because I truly believe that my life's calling, my purpose is so much bigger than that,
that three years from now, people aren't even going to remember that I played football.
Because of the impact that I'm going to have on people's lives.
And really, my journey,
my life started on that day. And that's why I'm here with you guys, because I want you to be able
to not have your self-identity consumed or invested into anything else that has anything to do with you. It's identifying your vision, goals.
It is creating a detailed plan
to be able to achieve the goals
to make that dream come to life.
And the very last step,
and the step that will separate you
from every other person that has a dream,
and that's executing,
aka hard work you know everybody's gonna have a dream you go to sleep at night you're gonna have a dream and a smaller percent of people that have
a dream will set goals to be able to make that dream come true a smaller percentage of that
will actually sit down and create a detailed plan.
When I say a detailed plan, I'm not talking about, okay, well, you know, I want to get 19 inch arms.
So, you know, I'm going to work out five times a week.
You know, when I say a detailed plan, I'm talking about step by step by step by step.
step by step by step by step and because of that time that you invested into creating that plan then it's time to execute it's time to work but the last step the execution step the hard work
step that's where you're going to separate you from other people that are
in this world that have dreams, that set goals, that create plans, but they're not willing to
work. And the reason that I'm standing on this stage here before you guys is I'm a dreamer.
Yeah, I can set some goals But what I lack Is planning
I'm not a good planner
I'm not a real cerebral person
You know, and people considered me
One of the best punters in the world
One of the best at what I did in the world
But really, to me
What I'm the best in the world at
Is executing
I'm the hardest worker in this room
I feel confident
saying that you can put me in pretty much any, any room ever. Uh, and if somebody is technically
a harder worker than I am, I will take them toe to toe head to head because be known for anything, be known for the willingness to make sacrifices,
to be able to achieve and then take those achievements and share them.
Bless other people.
You know, I state my disclaimer.
The things I'm going to share with you guys today are not things that I came up with there.
It's a culmination of the different mentors that I've had in my life.
And I've taken bits and pieces from every single one of them and I've made it my own.
And because of my willingness and my humility to ask questions, take advice and then apply it into my own life, I've been able and
afforded the opportunities to bless other people with either that information, those routines.
It's not like you achieve a Super Bowl and then you're a Super Bowl champion the rest of your life.
The rent's due every day.
You know what I mean? So in order for me to continue to take pride in my execution and my hard work, I have to earn it every single day.
You know, success is not something that you get and you just keep.
You know, it's more like a rental.
And if you enjoyed this episode,
