This is 5-Minute Friday, episode number 507.
You already have the answer, so stop letting fear be your excuse.
Welcome everyone.
I am so excited.
I just got back from an incredible weekend in Miami.
I went to Miami with an intention to connect with some interesting, inspiring people that
I've always wanted to have on my podcast.
Now, although I failed at getting this individual that I've always wanted to have on my podcast
to come on this time, I went anyways. I went to this weekend experience where all these events
were happening for the chance of maybe meeting this one person and maybe getting him to come on the podcast.
And I didn't even get to meet him.
But here's what opened up for me.
I went anyways.
I didn't have an excuse.
And I was afraid of potentially not meeting this person
and taking an entire trip to go to Miami from Los Angeles.
I was afraid that maybe I would go
and I wouldn't even get to meet him.
And it didn't happen.
But here's the thing.
So many things unfolded during this trip
and during this experience.
And I got to meet with so many of my students
from the School of Greatness Academy.
There was a big group of people we met one of the mornings.
And I got to hear from them
what their biggest challenges are,
what they're struggling with.
And so many of them are using fear as an excuse.
And I'm telling you, I'm sick and tired of hearing this.
I'm sick and tired of hearing so many people say that they don't know what the next step
is.
They don't know what steps to take.
They don't know the steps to grow their business, the steps to lose weight,
the steps to get out of a relationship, the steps to find a partner. They don't know the steps.
And they were telling me, a few of these students were telling me, I love them,
but they kept telling me, I'm not sure what the next step is. I feel like I need a mentor
or a coach to guide me. Here's the thing. You already know the answers. You need to trust your intuition.
You need to trust your instincts. You need to trust your research. You have all the answers
at your fingertips. You can literally Google, how do you lose weight? How do you find a partner?
How do you get out of a relationship? How do you do any of these things? You can Google anything right now and get the next steps from a million different people.
Everyone's got the answers.
You have the answers within you.
That's not the problem.
You don't need to keep looking for steps to get the answers.
You don't need to keep getting advice from other people or going to take meetings with
people to get them to give you the answers. What you need is to understand that you already have the answers within you.
You're just too scared to look at it.
You're just too scared to move forward and take those steps because you're afraid.
You're afraid that you're going to fail.
And you're using that fear of failure as your main excuse that's going to hold you back
and say, I don't know the answers.
I don't have the solution. I'm not sure the next steps. BS, you have the answers within you. You have the solution at your fingertips if you just Google something or ask a friend. Or if you're
just quiet for 30 minutes in nature and you allow yourself to think for a moment, you're going to
come up with a solution. But you're so focused on your anxiety,
the stress, the challenges of the world, you're on your phone constantly addicted to everything
that you don't take a moment to breathe in the answer. And when you take a moment to just take
a breath and say, what would I advise on someone with this same challenge on the next step they
could take? Oh, this is what I would tell
them to do next. And then they could do this and then they could try this. Maybe they're going to
fail. Maybe it's not going to work out, but then you'd reevaluate and try something different.
Oh, so I do have the answers. I am smarter than I think. I am a good coach for myself.
My fear is that I'm going to fail and I allow that fear to consume
my body so much that it becomes my excuse of not knowing the next step. BS, you know the next steps.
If you don't know it, you can Google it in 10 seconds and have a million answers for what the
next step is for any challenge you have in your life. All the answers are already out there
or within you. Your thing is you have an excuse and you don't want to move forward because you're
so afraid of looking bad, of failing or hell, even succeeding. You're afraid of all three of those
things and you're afraid of your ego. Your ego is holding you back
from allowing you to just take another step
and keep moving forward.
Guys, I've been doing this for 10 years.
10 years ago, in a couple of months,
will be the anniversary where I lost my dream
playing professional football.
I was in a cast, injured,
living on my sister's couch for almost a couple of years.
I didn't have a college degree.
I didn't have any money.
I was living off three credit cards.
I had college debt, and I didn't have any job experience.
I had the most excuses out of anyone,
and I'm telling you, if I can find the answers within
and find the solutions by Googling a few things
and get to where I've gotten in the last 10 years,
then anyone listening right now can do the same.
All of you are as smart,
if not smarter than me. I can guarantee that based on our grade cards. The thing that you have
is you're too afraid to move forward and you allow that fear to be your main excuse of not
having the answers. You need to start trusting that you have the answers within and just start
taking steps forward. Who cares if you don't get the result right now or next month or this year? Who cares? Take it one week at a time. It doesn't need to
happen overnight. I'm 10 years deep into this and I feel like I'm just getting started. 10 years
of consistent hard work. So many failures, so many mistakes, so many things I've put my time and
energy and money into that have turned out to be a waste of time, energy, and money, who I've lost
a ton of money trying things. Who cares? It's all an experience. It's all an interesting, fun life
if we choose to look at it that way. If we choose to look at it as this stressful, exhausting thing that is consuming us
and breaking us down and trying to kill us, then that's how life will show up. If we look at life
as a beautiful adventure, then we show up on a beautiful path, discovering life's wonders.
You have the answers within you. It's time to quit making the excuse that you don't have the answers
because you're afraid of failing. This is 5-Minute Friday, episode number 507. If you enjoyed this
one, make sure to share it with your friends, lewishouse.com slash 507, and share it out with them. I'm always connecting with people who face this challenge,
the challenge of feeling like they need the answers. And guys, we've usually got the answers
within us. Or it takes a couple of conversations with some friends or family members or just going
online and Googling some things on YouTube and finding answers from experts, people who have been there before us or who are doing it right now.
Or there's courses, books, podcasts.
Heck, I'm trying to bring on the top people in the world to give you the answers.
So you've got the answers.
Just search for them and start consuming the answers.
Your thing is you're afraid to fail.
And you're making a huge excuse by saying you don't know.
I'm not sure the next steps.
You know what the next steps are.
Your thing is you don't have the confidence to move forward.
And you're afraid because you don't want your ego to get hurt.
I get it.
No one wants to look like a loser.
No one wants to not have any friends.
I get it.
I grew up without any friends.
I was always lonely.
I was always afraid to fail.
But we're never going to have fun in life if we live that way.
So focus on mastering certain skills.
Focus on developing positive habits.
Focus on being grateful and surrounding yourself with good people.
And that, I'm telling you guys, is half the battle.
It's half the battle is doing those few things.
If you do those things every single day, you're going to have the confidence to move forward.
You're going to know the answers. You're going to move forward. You're going to know the answers.
You're going to take steps.
You're going to live a great life.
Again, lewishouse.com slash 507.
Trust yourself.
You have the answer within you.
You're just afraid and you're making an excuse.
I hope you enjoyed this one.
