This is 5-Minute Friday!
This is a story about belief. Believing in yourself.
The Elephant and the Rope
A gentleman was walking through an elephant camp,
and he spotted that the elephants weren't being kept in cages or held back by the use of chains.
All that was holding them back from escaping the camp was a small little piece of rope tied to one of their legs.
Now, as the man gazed upon the elephants, he was completely confused as to why the elephants didn't just use their strength to break the rope
and escape the camp.
They could easily have done so,
but instead, they didn't even try at all.
Curious and wanting to know the answer,
he asked a trainer nearby why the elephants
were just standing there and never tried to escape.
The trainer replied,
well, when they are very young and much smaller,
we use the same
size rope to tie them. And at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are
conditioned to believe that they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them,
so they never try to break free. The only reason that the elephants weren't breaking free and escaping from the camp
was because over time they adopted the belief that it just wasn't possible. Now the moral of the
story is that no matter how much the world tries to hold you back, always continue with the belief
that what you want to achieve is possible. Believing you can become successful is the most important step in actually achieving it.
Train your mind to free yourself from the small, tiny ropes that have conditioned you over time
to say that you aren't good enough, you don't have the talent, you're not big enough and strong
enough. Train your mind to be more powerful than a tiny little string, than a tiny belief, a small mindset
that's been holding you back.
Condition and to train yourself.
Move forward with confidence and power.
Train your mind.
Develop new skills.
Develop new talents that will help you build so much momentum that that tiny little rope
just falls to the side.
You actually just break free from these beliefs
that have been holding you back.
Again, don't allow these small beliefs
from childhood or from past experiences
hold you back from big dreams.

We must believe in ourselves.
If we want to achieve anything in this world, it's going to take courage.
And in order to believe, we must do things that maybe are scary.
We must do things that are challenging.
And the more we use courage to overcome those challenges, the more belief we have.
But if we just stay stuck and trapped in this limited mindset and never take the risk and
never walk into the fears, into the unknown, we may never know what we're
actually capable of.
