This is 5-Minute Friday!
Imperfect is perfect.
A shop owner placed a sign above his door that said,
Puppies for Sale.
Signs like this always have a way of attracting young children.
And to no surprise surprise a boy saw the
sign and approached the owner how much are you going to sell the puppies for he asked
the store owner replied anywhere from thirty dollars to fifty dollars the little boy pulled
out some change from his pocket i have two dollars and thirty seven he said. Can I please look at them? The shop owner smiled and whistled.
Out of the kennel came a lady who ran down the aisle of his shop, followed by five teeny tiny
balls of fur. One puppy was lagging considerably behind, and immediately the little boy singled
out the lagging, limping puppy and said what's wrong with
that little dog the shop owner explained that the veterinarian had examined the little puppy
and had discovered it didn't have a hip socket it would always limp it would always be lame he said
the little boy became excited that is the puppy that I want to buy.
The shop owner said,
No, little boy, you do not want to buy that little dog.
If you really want him, I'll just give him to you.
The little boy got quite upset here.
He looked straight into the store owner's eyes, pointing his fingers at him and said,
I don't want you to give him to me that
little dog is worth every bit as much as all the other dogs and i'll pay full price in fact i'll
give you two dollars and 37 cents now and 50 cents every single month until i have paid for him
now the shop owner countered you really don't want to buy this little dog.
He is never going to be able to run and jump and play with you like all the other puppies.'"
To his surprise, the little boy reached down and rolled up his pant leg to reveal a badly
twisted, crippled left leg supported by a metal brace. He looked up at the shop owner and
softly replied, well, I don't run so well myself, and the little puppy will need someone who
understands. Remember, guys, our imperfections make us human. They make us relatable. They make us compassionate.
And they keep us humble.
As the Chinese proverb said,
a diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections.
You are priceless just as you are.
You are worthy of everything you want, regardless of your imperfections.
Focus on that diamond inside of you. Allow your gifts to shine. Allow yourself to use your voice,
use your talents. No matter where you may have limitations, there is always an opportunity to connect, to be compassionate,
and to share your gifts with the world. You may never be perfect. None of us are,
but you are completely perfect with your imperfections. If you enjoyed this one,
make sure to share it with your friends, lewishouse.com slash 540. Imperfect is perfect, my friends.
I hope you guys enjoyed this one.
Make sure to share it with your friends.

And instead of looking at all the things that you are imperfect at,
start looking at the things that you have incredible gifts in.
Start focusing on the things that bring joy to others.
Start focusing on things that
lift others up, that add value to other people. Don't put all of your attention on the one thing
that isn't perfect. Put your energy and attention on things that move the world closer to a loving
place. I love you guys and you know what time it is. It's time to go out there and do something great. Outro Music
