This weekend, Saturday, I got back from basically a week trip overseas. I started in Germany, spent three or four days in Germany, mainly on base and doing some stuff with General Donahue there, four-star general who's in charge of Army, Africa, Europe. And so it was a great trip. I got a lot done. Towards the end of that trip I

cannot Overstate the importance of CrossFit doing stuff with the US military as a metric Say who is it? Hey, who is it? Who is it? Who is it? I cannot, I cannot, I cannot over emphasize the importance when you, this is old school shit. This is old school shit. What happens with military guys is they do CrossFit.

It ups the brand of what CrossFit actually is the greatest practice for the expression of the human genome, but, and which means it's the greatest preparation or facilitation of getting your general physical preparedness on point. But on top of that, these guys eventually become affiliate owners. That's what happens. You do CrossFit in the army and the Navy and the coast guard, blah, blah, blah. You end up opening an affiliate. This is a, uh, you know, if you're, if you're an investor in CrossFit, this is a good sign. We had an affiliate discuss, well actually even while there and I think a greater indicator than the open. I mentioned this on last week's

Week in Review. I went to a level one, saw some of our staff, met a bunch of the participants at a level one in Frankfurt. On the final day, my final day there, I guess was Tuesday, I had an affiliate discussion with local affiliates. And that was a really good time. We did it at a gym there and had a lot of people show up, a lot of good questions, a lot of good discussion, talked a lot about programming,

programming in your affiliate. Talked about the open, talked about the community cup. They, there's still a lot of call it confusion around the community cup and what it is. So discuss that. Remember, real quick, I'll just go over it again. The community cup is basically replacing the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, 25% could advance to the quarterfinals. Now we have another level where everybody can advance. So everyone who registered listen listen listen listen listen listen listen listen stop listen. The community cup is a place if you want to further know your rankings amongst the community

in terms of the level of your fitness a more relevant ranking if you walk back by behind here again something will happen to you that's not good the the ranking you get ranked in the open but if you want a higher level ranking let's say with harder workouts More workouts you do the community cup. That's what it is Australian open is going but uh, uh, I can multitask is a novak jokovic playing

Really good time for all those affiliates who went there thank you guys for showing up and thanks for the for the good discussion then i flew to israel and uh spent a few days there three days three and a half days there and he went to israel israel did you hear trump today talking about gaza He said it just looks like a demolition site.

Really happy with... And I'm not a Jew. Just seeing those affiliates and what they're doing in their gyms and how they're impacting their community and the difference they're making. I met a few gym owners with like six, 700 members in their affiliates.

So really cool to see. Had an opportunity to, hold on. No, you hold on. Sorry about that. Apology accepted. Had a lot of, couple of affiliate discussions with different groups there. Those went really well. The culture there in terms of fitness it's in tel aviv at least it was

Pretty crazy to see just the amount of people that are running that are training on the beach that are doing things And the gyms all the gyms all the affiliates I went to It seemed like every class I popped in to was really packed. So those jackasses like 86% of them got vaccinated by the way, Israelis, they got to do big time. Crazy fit population. Great time. I'm really I never thought I'd go there.

So I had the opportunity, the opportunity presented itself and really happy I went. And and once again thanks to all of those who were there who showed me around who spent time with me who showed me the countryside and everything else. Philip Nichols, Sevan when are you coming to Israel my box is open when you do oh that's awesome. I probably never I've ever gone there. I'm done traveling. I don't think I'm ever going anywhere again if I can't go in my car. But I'd like to have you on the show. You got to get a bunch. I was in contact with a couple of affiliate owners. I don't know what happened with the contacts but I wanted to have the guys on and one of the guys we had scheduled to come on, I think once or twice, but, uh, he was fucking kicking ass somewhere. He's in the heat of battle. And so it got a postponed, uh, Ryan, uh, heart crazy times. You weren't able to leave your house if you're not vaccinated. Oh, in Israel, we didn't have it that bad here, But they sure did make you feel like a loser.

I mean, not me, but other people, normal people. Users are smart too. I can't believe they fell for that shit. Very smart. Standard deviation smarter than the rest of the population. That's the problem smart people can get brainwashed easy Like I said it came back Saturday afternoon Then just kind of getting settled coming back was much easier than going out in terms of jetlag I felt like the coming back It was easy to get back in routine going out when I went out to Germany with by the way I did speak today when he got back briefly for like four or five minutes

on the phone. He said it was an incredible time and you... I don't know if it was you guys who hosted him, but he said the hosting was insane. He said you guys took great care of him. He said he had a blast. He said he met so many people and so many affiliates. So solid. It was a little challenging, but it took a few days to get into a good rhythm, but coming

back is fine. I'll dive into comments in a second. Last thing I want to say is my friends Kariana and Bill launched the Ruck Race League. I posted it on my site. Super cool concept. Basically they're going to host- Rucking's bad for you. ... with a series of Ruck races.

It appears the initial rollout is going to be online competition. So basically, they're going to put out a style of challenge or a style of ruck, and they're all going to be different. I talked to Karyana about this in the last few weeks. It's not going to be one standard ruck race or one standard weight.

There's going to be different themes to each one. And as it grows, there might be opportunity to actually have in-person events So i'm a big fan of rucking. I'm a big fan of competing obviously so uh i'm excited about this effort and trying to Support her and bill and uh help it grow And see what it can be from that. I think a Ariana and Bill are great people. Been around forever. Forever great people. I'm excited about the gear diving into rucks. Maybe I'll make some videos and share

concept or share the type of equipment I would use for something like this. Really the ruck I would use would depend on the weight of the, um, of the challenge 20, 30 pounds or let's say 40 pounds or less. You don't really need an internal frame. Anything over that. I start looking at internal frames and external frames. I was just with a group of people and someone said Trump is the orange Mussolini. Yeah.

So now I'm going to dive into comments. And there is a bunch that I thought would be good to address. So Ed Wilkins 8804, how about this scenario? The top six athletes in the open that still haven't qualified after all semifinals are done, go into a last chance qualifier for the last spot. That would make the open really count again. That's a good idea. I like it.

Um, clearly something's happening because there's only 29. If you look at all the ways people can qualify to go to the CrossFit games this year, only 29 men and 29, 29 men and 29 women have a pathway to the games. So there's something open. There's some Avenue.

It can, they can make it so you still get to the games. What that is. We'll see, but that's Dave teasing that. Yeah. Thank you for the followup on the community cup. I actually liked this as someone not ready to make it to semi-finals Quarters was a bit of just did it do it now? I have a shot at actually win something How will the standards be filtered if I make it to the 70% group?

For example, will I be competing against everyone in the world that scored the same or just in my age group? Everybody in the world that's quite the same think in in advance. At Stronger Every Day 714. Okay that's important point delineation explanation. So the community cup there's no age groups which makes it actually really cool. Really, really cool. Especially for if you're old or really young. Dave, super excited about a new location for the games. Honestly, I wasn't going to go if it was in Fort Worth again,

I don't know if I talked about this yet, but a couple of months ago, I went and did a site survey. And I have ideas on how, a rough idea on how certain things will be laid out, but they're gonna dive in and see, basically really stress tested and create. If you're media or if you're an athlete and you're gonna be attending the games this year, you are gonna be blown away at this facility.

The only bad thing I remember, and maybe they've changed it since, is it was a little dark, so you had to shoot at some kind of weird shutter speeds or ISOs, high ISOs, if you were taking photos. Because at fast shutter speeds you lose a lot of light and so then you need to crank up the ISO. I remember that being kind of weird, but for video it's fucking brilliant. But the access, the speed in which you can get around that facility. It's the best of any facility I've ever been to because you can circle the whole facility as media. You can get around the entire place very quickly through these tunnels they have underneath the seats. So if you're media, you're an athlete or if you're a volunteer, you're going to find this place.

You're going to love this place. It's a great place. It's a cozy little town. It's a tired, cozy little town. It's going to be fun. It's going to be a good spot. It's a plan that makes sense. At Clooney's Adventures, awesome work, Dave.

Is CrossFit going to provide any leadership training or education to the members of CAC? That's a good question. I think we should. I don't know. Stupid fucking question. Absolutely fucking stupid. Yeah, I think that's one of my highlights with the open this year is the fact that affiliates will be able to get prizes through the open based on competition, based on results, rankings, and also based on just numbers of people.

It's a lot of affiliates that are getting prizes too. It's like a shitload. I mean, if 300,000 people sign up, I mean, it's a shitload. Signed up and they'll get $2,500 gift cards. So the more affiliate, the more people we have in the open, the more affiliate gift cards we will give out to the community. So in the model where 300,000 people sign up, I think it's like 17 gift cards, $2,500 gift cards per region for performance and 17 for participation. So a lot of affiliates will get these $2,500 gift cards. Some affiliates I

talked to, some of the bigger ones said hey they would take them and just give them to the Two smaller affiliates in their area who could use the gear more than they could Hey, that's stupid too. So WHO climate hoax, bye bye. Dave, I was thinking about another way to incentivize participation for the open, especially for the smaller gym. How about awarding the gyms with the greatest number of percentage of members that improve their rankings from the previous open? Oh Jesus, oh Jesus. This incentivizes people to stay on a more personal level while also giving the gyms awareness of their performance in helping people improve. Say it's a dumb fucking idea.

Say, quit ruining my idea. It's simple and clean. I don't want to hear your shit. You took the time to type that out. Here we go. Dave's answer. This person wants CrossFit to look at the people scores from the previous year of everyone who did it in every single fucking gym and then figure out how much they improved.

I don't know how you figure that out, but just solely on their ranking, which doesn't even necessarily mean they improve, but fine. We'll go with it. And then give the prizes based on that. I think they, I like what they're doing. They've done a really good job with having a big community event. And Blair and Ben are good people in the NorCal community and the CrossFit community. You've been around for a very long time. Blair's competed in some of the earliest CrossFit games. very long time. Blair's competed in some of the earliest CrossFit games. So he's an old as an individual athlete. So he's old school. And so they've been around for a very long time, expressed some interest. We went back and forth with them and then kind of last minute decided to give them a couple spots. And so I'm really happy to have them within the mix of teams or events, I should say,

we're going to qualify people to the CrossFit Games. You can sign up for the open right now using the QR code in the upper right hand corner. So that's it. I'm probably going to register using Chief Nation CrossFit. Jethro's Gym, by the way. I think. If that's legal or not. I mean, I don't care if it is or not. But that's what I'm doing, I think.

In case anyone gave a shit. Week in review. I think I'm not going to travel for a couple weeks, which is going to be nice after this last seven, eight days on the road. And we got a bunch of other things coming up clearly with the open kicking off soon.

And make sure you get registered and see you on the leaderboard. Okay, Community Cup, a great trip to Israel. It's a great country. CrossFit must be flourishing because the army's doing it. Thousands of guys in the army, that eventually turns into new affiliates. It's always a good It was it was our strongest indicator

when I worked at CrossFit the number of people who do level ones, there's a There's a formula that you can look at based on how many people are doing level ones are taking the level one to see How many new affiliates there will be? Because it's it's it's like very consistent. You know what I mean? For every seven people who take the level one, two years later you have a new affiliate.
