Yeah there's a few names like some of the guys in front of me like the I guess the more established fighters in the division like Kamara Usman maybe Leon Edwards those guys aren't willing to come to Australia. Sean Brady not come they don't want to come all the way to Australia. So nothing, yeah, not just trying to figure out where to go. Do I go over, try and find one of those guys over in the States, maybe March or something, or do I try and get another guy over in Sydney, but see how it plays out. But there's a few names going around. Do you feel any rush?

Do you feel any rush? I mean, the names in this division are crazy. Ballell, Leon, Kamara, Ousmane, Shavkat, Sean. Sean Brady's the head of Ian Gary. Wow, Jack Dela, Matt Alaina, Colby Covington, Ian, Gary, Gilbert Burns. I mean, this is such a crazy division, dude. This is crazy.

Yeah, it's a good division. There's a lot of younger guys, even the ones like the number 10, like their rankings from even 10 to 15 have some pretty good up and coming fighters. So it's a pretty good division at the moment. So yeah, I guess there's a big fight this weekend, which is a, yeah, exciting stuff, which we should open up the division as well.

Yeah. Tomorrow's fights huge, right? 17 and Oh, uh, Shavkat and then a 15 and Oh, Ian Gary. Yeah. It's pretty exciting stuff. Jack, would you have fought either of those guys? Yeah, I was hoping to fight Shavkat, you know. Had this injury at the start of March. If it all went well, hopefully, yeah, would have fought Shavkat mid-year, but yeah, had the injury, so just put me on the the sidelines for a little bit But yeah, I think I definitely felt both of them at some point in the next year two years

And then those are gonna be those are gonna be great fights, huh? Look at that group I mean, yeah, who do you fight God watching you fight Leon Edwards would be great, too Yeah, that's a real possibility. That would be a good fight. He's a good striker, former champion. A pretty cool fight. I think he's trying to fight in March in London. They've got a big London pay-per-view card. So yeah, he's probably looking for a partner for the main event.

So that's a possibility as well. For sure. Hey, what about, what about Colby? Is he even fighting anymore? If I feel like he's just kind of fighting Buckley, what Queen Buckley who's also in the top 10. Oh, okay. Buckley is on a pretty good win streak as well. Number nine.

I think it was was one fight that was a great fight two of them Colby's kind of like your weight divisions Holloway not in personality but it's gonna be a lot of punches and it's gonna be good it's gonna be a fight you're gonna see dudes just bang it out yeah Colby has a he sets a pretty high pace normally in his best days he said a real high pace normally. It doesn't look Craig Jones does a lot of work with Alex Volkanovsky Yeah, it's good to try with him he's a pretty elite cool guy pretty elite grappler as well Yeah, how is he is he when you train with him? Is he serious because his persona forward- facing to the world is like so much joking. Yeah. I mean, he's serious. He's a, he's a, he's very legit grappling. Very good. And then, yeah, he's a funny guy as a good, good sense of humor, but yeah, he's a cool guy. But he's very funny. Yeah. On social media and he's doing big things in the,

in the jujitsu world, ruffling some feathers. So it's pretty cool to see. Yeah. He gave away a couple million dollars last month. Yeah. Yeah. That was wild. Hey, how, how was it? Have you, do you, how often do you go to the ground in a fight? I try to avoid the ground. I like the striking battle, but I guess it's such a big it's a big part of MMA, you know So I guess majority of the fights you do I do end up at some point on the ground It's normally me trying to get up or trying to land some damage but I like to, I feel most comfortable on the feet, striking, keeping some

range and yeah but it's a big part you know I fight a lot of grapplers, a lot of guys trying to take me down so a lot of my training consists of yeah a lot of ground fighting, a lot of grappling. So a lot of my training consists of a lot of ground fighting, a lot of grappling. And when you finished Gilbert Burns, it went from it was on the ground and then you stood up and then it quickly ended, right? Is that how I think that's how I remember it. Yeah, I hit the reversal on him probably like midway through the third round. And then as soon as it got back to the feet, I was expecting probably shoot another take now.

So I just came up the middle with a knee and it caught him pretty flush And and and how is how is your is you feel like your ground game is getting better? Yeah, I do think it's getting better. I've been well, it's pretty well. I spent most of my time working the ground game, sir It's getting better. It's picking up. It's getting better. I feel pretty comfortable on the ground It's getting better. It's picking up. It's getting better. I feel pretty comfortable on the ground Or at least getting back to my feet if it does hit the ground or yeah, it's been comfortable off my back attacking submissions How old are you Jack?

28 Turn 28 this year and so you're still getting better. It's not like you're even maintaining. You're getting better everywhere. I definitely feel like I'm getting better for sure. Yeah, it's wild. And the story is, right, you lost your first two fights, then you told your, you got together with your coach and you're like, hey, let's win 10 in a row. Yeah, that was the, that was the plan. I lost those two. Yeah, I lost those first two ones and then, yeah, we just made it low. We just sort of set the goal to get to 10 in a row.

Ticked that off, yeah, got ticked that one off the, the bucket list and then, trying to get to twenty and two now. That's the next goal. She's god. You're on your way there, dude. Hey, does it matter to you whether you fight in the States or Australia like is fighting in Australia so much better or like such a different experience because the whole

crowd stadiums going bonkers. I mean, it's a different. It's just a different experience but uh I like I like going to the US. I like going to the US. I like going to the US. I like going because the whole crowd stadiums going bonkers? I mean it's a different it's just a different experience but I like I like going to the US I like the travel I like the uh it's a bit of an adventure and yes yeah I don't I don't really have a favorite obviously fighting in Australia is just a bit easier when it comes to uh like travel a lot more of my friends and family can come. But yeah, I don't necessarily have a preference.

I like fighting either. I fought a lot more time like UFC fights a lot more times in the US. So I guess when the opportunity comes to have a fight in Australia, it's sort of it's exciting. But I like I like traveling as well. And the fans are better in Australia too, right? I mean, I know that's a little harsh to say, but they're just, it's just, they're into sports more. They go crazy. Yeah, they are. They're very into, yeah, they really get into it because they don't, it's not

like they have UFC, especially UFC events. They don't have UFC events all the time, but the crowd goes pretty wild. They really get behind the, like they really cheer for the Australian people. And then they like, if there's any Australian guy fighting an out of towner, they really like let them know they boo, they like, yeah, they're very vocal, which is a cool, pretty exciting. It's exciting for the hometown guy and the away guy the big atmosphere hey i mean theoretically you and volkin it could be volkin ofsky against toporia and you against someone pretty amazing on the same card i guess there too right i've heard rumors of volkin ofsky fighting ilia there. Yeah, I hope that would be, that sort of makes sense.

I think it's a pay-per-view, so they need like a title fight, I think, is how they normally do it. And yeah, what a fight that would be. I think that, yeah, that's a fight that people would get behind. Australians obviously love to watch Vogue fight. And then yeah, if I could be there in the co-main

against a big name would be pretty cool. God, I would love to see you just go straight fight for the title to I Fight below that would be crazy. Yeah, that'd be no that'd be cool How are you over at some point this year? See what happens tomorrow with the Gary chef cat fight Hopefully if maybe if that's a boring fight they just Chef Kat fight. Hopefully, maybe if that's a boring fight, they just.

Try and they try and get a mean below happening before them, but we'll see. Tell me about this thing. Oh, that was my, uh, yeah, that was weird. I had this, uh, this, I had a surgery or I had this surgery on the one day and they opened my arm and they like removed the metal plate that was in there and did some scraping of the bone. Just got rid of some of the infected bone and then they just instead of us stitching it up they just put a bandage over the wound and then they gave me this thing was just like sucked out all the blood. And then two days later they went back in and then they just gave it another clean out and then put a another plate and screws in the arm and then closed it up. So

I had this little thing on my arm for like two days just sucking blood from the wound. It's pretty nasty. It just had like a tube inserted into your arm just draining? No, no. It was like the actual, my whole, rather than like stitching up my scar, they just left it open and they just put like a vacuum seal pack on it and then the tube just was in the vacuum seal pack just sucking it. Oh wow. It's quite weird. Yeah, really weird. Could you feel it or was it just like you could? the like that. Yeah, pretty much. It was pretty groggy. Jack, you know what I thought that machine was? I thought that machine was antibiotics that were being pumped into you because didn't you get a pretty severe infection from the surgery?

I actually, I also had that. I had like an antibiotics machine pumping for about, yeah, I think I had it. Well, I was meant to have it for six weeks. It was just basically, it was a tube that went up into my arm here and that, yeah, it was meant to have it for six weeks. It was just basically, it was a tube that went up into my arm here and there. Yeah, it was just 24 seven, just pumping antibiotics. But I was like swinging my son on his swing and his foot got caught on it and just ripped it straight out of my arm.

Wow. Yeah, it was pretty wild because the thing it goes like, if you can see, like it went in here and then it went all the way over into like just the top of my heart. And it just pumped the antibiotics into there. But then it ripped it out, pulled it straight out. Because I think that they say like when it rips out,

it felt like I was having a heart attack. Cause I think it gave my heart like an, I don't know what you call it, but it like, my heart just seized up and I felt like I felt like I was having a heart attack when it ripped out and I had to like hold my arm up and there was just like blood pissing out of the thing was quite quite for long. Oh yeah. But my heart rate as soon as it ripped out my heart rate with I was just chilling I was

swinging my son and when it ripped out I reckon my heart rate would have, I was just chilling. I was swinging my son and when it ripped out, I reckon my heart rate would have hit probably like 180 in like the space of 10 seconds. And it was just sitting at 180 for like five minutes. And I was like, I was just thinking like, what the fuck is happening to me? And my heart was just like palpitating. But then yeah, calm down after that. But it was pretty, pretty crazy.

But then basically it was, I think I was meant to have the thing in for six weeks. And then that happened. And then I think that happened to like the four week mark. And then it was like, they just sort of said, we're not going to bother about putting another one in. So I got out of it, which is a blessing. That's crazy, dude.

Hey, so what happens after it gets yanked out and you're in your trip and do you go straight to the hospital? Are you like honey get the kid and let's go to the hospital Yeah, pretty much. I was sort of just like I need my wife was like Freaking out a bit because like my heart I sure cuz I went pay my heart rate was like literally would have been like 180 It was fully pumping And I just was I just had to take five minutes just to try and lower my heart rate and then we just went to the hospital. There was no ambulance? Nothing? Yeah. Yeah my wife was getting onto the ambulance but I sort of said

no I don't need it I think I'm alright. She was going to the hospital. Oh my god. Hey did your,, did your kid know it happened? Was he like, Hey, dad's bleeding out? Did your kid freak out? No, not really. He was a bit, nah, he didn't really figure out what was going on. He was a bit confused really. Just oblivious to it.

Thank you But yeah, he hated he didn't figure out he didn't know what was going on Hey After you take all those antibiotics, do you have to do something like take special probiotics or anything like to get your all your your like take special probiotics or anything like to get your all your your uh your flora or fauna or

whatever all the stuff that lives in your gut back in action is there like some serious protocol you have to get on so i thought not too serious but yeah just going into like yeah basically just going into eating like fermented stuff some things aren't good for the gut so i just avoid eating that and then just a solid probiotic, basically. And she loves yogurt. I spent a heap of time from like March, the start of this year to yeah, probably like good six months on antibiotics, pretty much. There was a long time to be on it. Any side effects from that? Anything weird? You feel weak or like your skin break out

Like my, my skin on my hands was like, it was that peeling off sort of thing. It was weird that my skin on my hand was just like flaking off and peeling. Which is the only weird side effect. My guts didn't feel too bad. Feel a bit so yeah, but that was it really

No, so not to yeah, it wasn't too bad Just felt a bit average, you know Yeah, that was it just like mentally just felt down But I think that's just a side effect of a long term antibody stuff. They say does that That's just a side effect of long term antibiotics that they say does that. Yeah Jack won that fight. He broke his arm in the first round and fought the next two rounds and won the fight. You didn't even know it was broken right because you were so fucking hyped up. Yeah I had no idea until literally like as soon as the fight was over my arm was pretty

sore. I was pretty certain when the fight was done that the, yeah, I was thinking it was probably broken. And hey dude, it was a legit break. It wasn't like just like a little chip or a fracture. Like the x-ray was crazy. That shit. Full snap of the owner.

So the smaller, only the smaller bone in the forearm, but it was clearly snapped. Which I think but it was cleanly snapped. If it was like the radius, I don't think you'd be able to fight because your arm would go sloppy but having two bones in there sort of helped me. the the the the the the

And uh, he like took this guy down to the ground on the subway and like put him in a rear naked choke and like subdued him so that he could stop like

attacking people on the subway. And then like the United States courts were like charging him with with murder. Merk murder. Yeah. What did they do? Yeah, the guy had a guy and the guy they subdued. And so they're just they're they're charging with murder and then now the jury's in a stalemate They can't come to decision as to whether or not they want to charge him with it or not It's bizarre. There's there's video of it and everything Jack. He did not

But then like they've attached also that now if you're over 16, you have to prove your age by having like a digital ID. Oh, I think I reckon they've just made it out like, Oh, we're protecting the young, but they're, the I haven't heard that side of the story. That yeah, over here they're like, hey, it's a great thing. And I'm like, yeah, that sounds good. I'd raise it to 18, but the digital ID thing's bat shit crazy.

Yeah, it is. They tried to, there was like a bill or whatever you call it, that they were trying to pass, which was like, basically it was called like the misinformation bill. And it was basically saying, so the government could pretty much say what information is true and not true, which is crazy. We're lucky that one didn't get passed. But then they passed this one, which is yeah, I think from the outside, if you look at it, it seems like it's a good thing. Like, oh yeah, we're not going to let under 16 year olds on social media. But I think really what it is is just so everyone has the digital ID so you can prove your age,

and then all your social media stuff is attached to a digital ID. So then I guess like, then it just comes, what's next, you know? So it's kind of weird. I think a lot of people think it's a bit weird, but it's a hard one. What do you actually, I don't know.

What do you do about it? How can you do anything? Here's one of your local country men. He also doesn't like it. Lucky camera straps is out of Australia. And I'm not keen on the digital ID at all. No. I don't think anyone's keen on it.
