Starting point is 00:01:04 We wanted the race, and just got a hell of a lot interesting. We wanted the race, and we got it. And this is this as we come into the final event between Laura and Tia, the showdown we wanted to see. I'm waiting for my buddies to get on here, but we're going to bring up the women's leaderboard in the show. We'll roll on. Oh, here we go.
Starting point is 00:01:30 All right. Good. You guys showed up. I was, I was rolling it live, baby. I was just going to rock. We're being here. What do we, what do we think? Can we bring up?
Starting point is 00:01:39 Let's start with the women. We'll bring up that women's leaderboard. This is the race we wanted at the end. Mr. John Young. young welcome you're muted what's up guys got jason blowing his nose in the do you hear me yeah i got you you got me you were just not anymore yeah okay so it is tied i mean can it get any more exciting right now i know way out like this is exactly what we wanted the tia and laura showdown coming down to the final event tied on lord at 680. Tia Clara Toomey in second place right now,
Starting point is 00:02:27 but also tied with 680 points. Gabby McGon, 555 points in third place. Emma Lawson with 555 points in fourth place. Alex Gazan, fifth place, 510 points. And we got Emma Carey in six with 500 points. Is this the most exciting women's finale that we've seen in competition period? Oh, it's going to be intense. I'm excited.
Starting point is 00:02:54 And the last event is going to be a clean event of some kind. Guess who's all, guess. Well, Horvath and Tia Claire to me, I think I've been known to clean a good amount of weight. Horvath and Tia Claire to me. I think I've been known to clean a good amount of weight. This is... I mean, you couldn't have painted a better picture for this finale right here. JR, how are you feeling about this? What did you think about that last event and our lineup of women here? I thought it was really cool to see how much the handstand walk mattered. The fact that they
Starting point is 00:03:23 did it going to the pylon and leaving the pylon was major um so glad that it wasn't just like one handstand walk and then run and run back to the box so it really really made the handstand walk matter a lot along with the box which was cool yeah and so made a fantastic point second place is going to cost you 200k i mean they're going to leave it all on the line there um john what do you think about the event uh i i like the event i think it's a different event completely um i think some people got bailed out i think some people got bailed out. I think some people got advantaged towards it. I mean, I guess it's the same two flips of a coin. But it was a – I mean, it's a handstand walking event. Who was this good for?
Starting point is 00:04:18 Who was the transition from the pegboard to the handstand walk due to the rain? Like who benefited the most from this? I think Gabby Magawa. Because the two girls behind her or that she's in the running with are emma lawson and alex kazan two of the best pullers both like emma lawson's ring muscle-up queen alex kazan is a pull-up or uh has pulling power for days um and gabby doesn't gabby's struggled in high volume pulling or hard pulling implements before and so when you take that completely out like that could have been like a 13th 14th place for gabby and now it ends up being in eighth place um so yeah crazy chase welcome to the show brother thank you yeah thank you
Starting point is 00:05:01 dude what do you how do you feel about this women's race leading into the final yeah i'll tell you what regardless of like all how we got to this point after the just the tumultuous four days of rain and athlete or lead changes and programming changes it's absolutely incredible that we're sitting here right now getting a tied race between like rarely ever does the hype of a storyline coming in match up. Rarely. Yeah. You couldn't have painted a better picture.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Hey, guys. Right now, they're playing the Rocky soundtrack before the last event. And it's very, very fitting. We're talking about this epic battle, and we got the Rocky IV soundtrack going on. That's awesome. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Chase, anything surprising about the event with our lineup of women here? We're looking at the top six. Honestly, is it weird to say Tia? Like Tia isn't traditionally known to have the best handstand walks and her handstand walks. They were pretty darn great.
Starting point is 00:06:01 I've never seen her handstand walks look that good before. Like she was, like usually she's a bit scorpion, her head's looking up, she's laboring a bit. They were pretty darn great. I've never seen her handstand walks look that good before. Like, usually she's a bit scorpion. Her head's looking up. She's laboring a bit. Like, her overhead position isn't, like, the highest of quality, like a Daniel Brandon, right?
Starting point is 00:06:15 We're comparing to that. And she's incredible. Absolutely incredible. I expected maybe, like, a fourth or fifth for Tia, based off who's in this event with the girls. Not a second place and not like that. Yeah. That was super impressive.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Yeah. She's not even looking forward. Usually she used to do that. She's looking straight down. Look how vertical she is. Yeah, her feet are forward, but that's just to get momentum going. I mean, I've never seen her look that good on handstand walks. Which is crazy to think about, right? Like just having the baby baby you think she just wants to get back to where she was and this clearly shows like she's progressing she's getting better it's not she's
Starting point is 00:06:52 not stagnant she's working on weaknesses still i mean it's incredible she yeah she's incredible jr any thoughts on that no yeah i agree with chase 100 like when i was watching her handstand walk it the first thing i noticed was how much more stacked she was like it just like her shoulder positioning just looks so much better than i'd seen it before yeah i just love the storyline for these two as it continues to build because with 200 grand on the line, these women are going to war. Jerry, you saw one fist bump with the deadlift. There's zero fist bumps after this. They're getting after that money.
Starting point is 00:07:36 They are not going to be friends coming into this final event here. Okay, so some notable stuff in the event. I think we have a shot of it. It looks like Bethany flores um did a little took a little spill yeah yeah humpty dumpty herself wow um and i would like to note that it from the angle that i saw it looked like it had nothing to do with the equipment or the rain no i just tried to stand up too fast and fail toppled over backwards but how does that happen jay you you had those same kind of uh squishy pile boxes uh at the gym there is is that different than the wooden blocks did that play a factor into it or any yeah i mean yeah i mean if you land too close to the edge you for sure cannot
Starting point is 00:08:17 gather yourself to stand up straight but i don't know i mean i i think i think when you're going fast things like that just happen sometimes. Yeah. Chase, how do you think she's feeling after that? It kind of looked like it. I mean, yeah, I didn't see how she landed, but, like, you go flat off the back 30. It's not even 30 inches in the air. That's where her feet were.
Starting point is 00:08:37 Her feet were at 30 inches. Her head was, like, eight feet in the air as she's coming off the box. I mean, not eight feet, but, like. Can we show the video? Can you pull it up? i'm trying to get it just give me a sec thank you and what jr was talking to your question jr is like with those soft boxes they're already unstable the higher they get the more unstable they become now you put that on a grass surface and i'm not saying you should have put something else it's just unstable by nature no matter what surface it's on and when you're going fast you land on the edge you throw your hips forward to open up aggressively and that you'll see some people lean back to do that it was like
Starting point is 00:09:12 the perfect storm and right here we have it she stands up and you could already tell already losing her balance yeah yep she's trying to push that hip through get that full extension at the top and it looked like she lost the footing there and she is already going down. Her feet do slip. Her feet do slip. Watch. Look at where her foot position is as she comes up a little bit.
Starting point is 00:09:37 Her shins will slide forward. Right there. Oh, boy. I think she landed on her heels and then that already put her off balance and then she started falling back and then how wet it was like i think she slipped as she was falling yeah correct and then play it play it full so people can kind of see her fall and then we don't see her she's gone oh great camera work by the team they're just like cover that one up and move on by but she pops back up she pops right back up she actually and it probably jumps a foot higher on the next one once that adrenaline kicks in after a miss like that
Starting point is 00:10:18 i'm glad she's okay i mean i hope she's okay but uh yeah what does that do to you as a competitor chase like i mean does she feel it at that point? No. Unless she broke both of her arms falling back to try to brace herself, which is the worst thing you can do when you're falling backwards like that. Like I said, it's a shot of adrenaline. She probably did four faster jumps after that first one than she'd ever have. You're riding a high because you're like, okay, you do a quick assessment.
Starting point is 00:10:43 You're like, am I damaged? Yeah. No. And then you're like, okay, my, you do like a quick assessment. You're like, am I damaged? No. And then like, you're like, okay. You just get that, that shot of adrenaline, which, you know, could help or hurt depending on how you pace the handstand walks too. Definitely. And we hope that, uh, Bethany Shaverin is all right from there. Okay. Clean it up a little bit with these, uh, these paid questions. This one's for Jr. Anthony Jr. was the handstand walk a close equal to the pegboard? I don't really know what you mean by equal.
Starting point is 00:11:13 The movements are very, very different from what they demand muscularly and John kind of already went into that. But time wise, handstand walk probably took a lot longer time actually. Most of those athletes would have gone touch and go up and down the pegboard in 30 to 40 seconds. The handstand walk with the run and turnaround, both handstand walks were taking a little longer than that. So time-wise, it was pretty comparable, but it's just a lot different with what it demands. with what it demands.
Starting point is 00:11:46 JR, do you actually like this reprogrammed event better than the original based off everything we've done leading up to this point? Yeah, not knowing the finale, I would say that adding this handstand walk-in and removing an upper body pull probably helps balance a little bit of the programming. I think I would have preferred putting the handstand walk-in where the rope was supposed to be instead of doing nothing during that event.
Starting point is 00:12:08 And then keeping the pegboards as is like as far as like an ideal programming roundabout. You're you're way more on the program train than I am, though, J.R. What would you think about that? The handstand walked to the sandbags and that in the duel and then they pegboard these ones. Yeah, I mean, that would have been fine. And actually, this is something that I said yesterday. I imagine all these events had a contingency plan going in. And they may have known, well, we can't put the handstand walk here yesterday because that's the contingency plan for the pegboard tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:12:42 That's fair. But I think that's something where you need to think about that. I'm sure all of them had a backup and maybe just the backup for some of them where, hey, if this element gets taken out, it just gets taken out. It doesn't make a lot of sense to do that on something like today's, where you take something out and you just have running and box jumps. You probably need something else in there. I was just really excited.
Starting point is 00:13:04 I know chase has talked about this before seeing a pegboard outside for the first time since it was initially programmed for pedal to the metal like seeing that backdrop on zeus would have just been so sick to see so it's kind of it's kind of unfortunate they didn't get to do it this year so hopefully they'll do it next year yeah caroline morris morris more ors caleb maybe i thought you're gonna click it off there we need a laura and tia poll yeah we do let's get that up that's all right i'll throw it up thank you thank you and then uh our final one here alex i feel like someone mentioned the weather yes alex thank you our official weather uh person here and it did play a factor i'm not gonna knock it out you're right came in hot with that and and it and it's definitely been uh predominant throughout throughout
Starting point is 00:13:56 these events okay so before we uh did they announce the last workout yet i was just about to ask that i don't i don't think we do i don't think we do can't no not yet somebody alluded to maybe knowing in our group chat but i don't think that's actually what it is i did see doesn't know i i did see though as i was walking around vinter village they had a one of those gator uh four bys or whatever, driving around, and they were filled with C70 money bars. So you know how last year when they did the Grace at the end and the last barbell was that green money barbell? They had a bunch of those, but they were the C70 S-bars, just lined up, no chalks.
Starting point is 00:14:41 I'm guessing they haven't been used yet. I imagine those will probably come into play at the end of this or for this event what do you guys think what do you guys think from a what's left standpoint let's just assume that those barbells are going to be used do you think it's single modality again like it was the heavy grace last year do you think it's mixed do you think we're squatting do you think we're not remember up to this point we've only had 15 squats so do you think that they're doing something lighter do you think that it could be like a double grace i think i think chase has said that before do you think it could be like a squat clean and jerk because they did clusters in the qualifier like what do you what do you guys think from from a prediction for the finale i'm gonna say
Starting point is 00:15:25 go ahead chase well i i said double grace just because they did heavy grace last year so they can double it up it's also called cleanup so if i'm just taking them literally for what the name is okay i know jr has mentioned maybe thrusters at the end to get below parallel before the end of the weekend with some more like barbell cycling below parallel um but it doesn't fit the name of the event so i'm not going with that but i like that one too i you know what i'm gonna think they took a page out of crash cruise by which we see a thruster ladder just gonna throw it out there just because what what in like what in like the what in like the cleanup just means like cleaning up all the bodies they're gonna be laying around on the ground that's right yep clean up everybody on the bases cleans only with ascending weight so the weight is going up i feel like i'm guessing a dave cash will open hint right now wasn't the
Starting point is 00:16:21 wasn't their squat clean ladder the first year at rogue yeah uh uh scott panchuk won matt fraser was second um that'd be cool if they kind of brought that back that's that's what i think it's gonna be i think it's gonna be a heavier squat clean ladder so like 10 reps at a weight eight reps at a weight like squat clean pyramid almost so no i think it was just two cleans at each weight so i got a squat clean pyramid but it ends on like like five four three two one two three four five like up and down no no no like ten eight six four two and it ends on like 345 okay so we'll just be a ladder that goes up and then back down like lower reps higher weight and then you go right back to the start the reverse way yeah and hopefully the ball's a ladder that goes up and then back down, like lower reps, higher weight, and then you go right back to the start the reverse way. Yeah, and hopefully the ball's a lot more hinging too there.
Starting point is 00:17:10 So let's hold on to the speculation for one moment. Let's pick up the men's leaderboard. Caleb, has that been updated yet? Let's see where we're at. I'm not sure yet. Let me look. Okay. I think Hiller made a... Hiller's call here is going to be cleans in GHD sit-ups.
Starting point is 00:17:26 So if we see him start carting out some GHDs. Somebody made a comment, JR, and they said that your camera stuff is looking clean. That is probably the best quality picture we've ever had of you. And the way the light's hitting right now, I mean, it's phenomenal. I'm sitting in my truck
Starting point is 00:17:42 at the gym. He's got that rich froning vibe Hey, I got news about it, it's not the last events not gonna be on the field It's gonna be where the strongman did the iron bull pool Mmm Mmm, that's I did see them building up deadlift platforms or just platforms, I guess, in that area. I wasn't sure if they were bringing wooden platforms to that spot or if they were taking them away. But I did see a bunch of those wooden platforms stacked up.
Starting point is 00:18:14 I can go down there and see what it is right now, but I'd have to leave this spot. Okay, well, hold tight. Let's bring up that men's leaderboard. Even if it's not quite updated yet, what's happening here? Some people are saying the stream is not good and other people are saying it's fine. Is the stream working for you guys? Is it coming through? I mean, for people watching, there's been some mixed stuff. So hopefully... If they're talking about the Rogue stream, it's fine. They're talking about our stream. I don't think there's an issue with it either.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Yeah. I don't have anything on this side. It seems like it makes me think it's going to be something besides cleaning. Or do you think that they just don't want it to rain on the bars? Like another movement. It'll be clean, but another movement. Thank you guys.
Starting point is 00:19:02 I mean, I would like, personally, I would like to see this end in a uh in a little bit more of a race it's my source knows the event but he won't tell me so it's incredibly frustrating yeah sounds like dating a mormon chick um will Brannister, it's fine. Don't get insecure. Okay, well, now I'm insecure. Thank you for that. Okay, so there's still no update on the men's leaderboard,
Starting point is 00:19:34 but we do know the standings from that, correct? Do we have that one? Yes. I wonder why we're having issues with that leaderboard. Was there something in there that um i don't know not that i saw i i the big winner from that is jeff adler as far as these top four guys go can you scroll down a little bit if you could scroll down i can kind of uh back of the napkin math who's going to be who's going to be okay so fukowski was a big winner hold on hold on hold on right here um fukowski
Starting point is 00:20:11 fukowski's gonna be third jeff's gonna be second and melner's still gonna be first fukowski could get second but third place i think i actually think the top three are gonna be pretty solidified so that's it they're locked in place even though we don't even know the the next event they're not moving unless like roman would have to beat fikowski by like six places which i guess could happen but that's not that much yeah but no but like roman's not like a jeff adler like if i think like if i say jeff it's not that much right but roman and fikowski are relatively the same in strength. You see what I'm saying? He's not going to have a home run hit.
Starting point is 00:20:49 That's what I'm saying. OK, hey, did we can we check on that? Sorry, I can't make you be there. OK, did they adjust Chandler score? Is that what they're rolling with? OK, well, hold on. Let's stay here real quick since Caleb's got him up. So the standings for event number eight is victor hoffer did you didn't who picked him you picked him john didn't you no that was pedro i did not i think pedro picked him yeah i got i picked hoffer and brandon wow not both of them okay so first place victor hoffer second place tutor mag place, Jay Crouch. Fourth place, Dallin Pepper. Fifth, Ricky Gerard.
Starting point is 00:21:25 Sixth, Brent Pekowski. Seventh, Lazar Djukic. Eighth, Jeffrey Adler. Number ninth, Pat Vellner. And tenth, Bailey Martin will round up the top ten for event eight. Yeah, Dallin Pepper, that's an amazing finish for Dallin Pepper. On the Heat One app, I picked Pat Vellner for this event, Yeah, Dallin Pepper, that's an amazing finish for Dallin Pepper. On the Heat One app, I picked Pat Vellner for this event,
Starting point is 00:21:50 and it's going to be my worst finish. Pat Vellner on a handstand walking box jump workout is going to be my worst finish. Why did you pick Vellner for a handstand walk workout? There's no obstacles there, man. I was just thinking – Upper shoulder to overhead stability. He was fine. He could have pushed harder.
Starting point is 00:22:08 He's just, he was fine. It was either Hoffer or Tudor. Those are your only two picks you should have. I just thought Tudor was not fit enough to last, but it's fine. I made the wrong call. It happens. It's all right. I made like 10 bad calls this weekend.
Starting point is 00:22:24 It's the name of the game. Me too. It's a travesty for me. Do we check that? Do we have an updated on the men's leaderboard yet? Do we? No, it's still not up yet. I'm still here, guys.
Starting point is 00:22:34 I got to get out of my charger. Okay. Oh, JR is back. Beautiful. Okay, so the top three is solidified for the men. So not much of a race there then, huh? One, two, three, four. It could be something.
Starting point is 00:22:51 I mean, how many events have we seen where one movement is a deal breaker? Right, right. We don't know. It could be one of those. Like, we haven't had that today per se. I mean, the handstand walk was the great dictator in the last event yes but it wasn't something people could or couldn't do they were just better or worse at it different than a deadlift different than the rock different than the log muscle ups like
Starting point is 00:23:14 so who knows it's two hundred thousand dollars is riding on this event for one woman we know that and that is crazy i mean the way that rogue set this up and especially hiding the cards on this last event just created the perfect storyline for the tia in in laura and like like we said earlier like how often do you predict these storylines or these match-ups and then it actually comes out exactly how it was uh predicted to be creates a i mean katie and bill got stoked at the way this thing is lining up in his last i don't want to jump to the end but like i know coming in i feel like a lot of us said laura needed to win to kind of cement her game's place and have a story going into the offseason if she gets second tia gets first in this finale and that's how it shakes out do you think that guy
Starting point is 00:24:03 do you think that is actually better for her versus like than getting totally beat by Tia? Do you think that changes things? You know, I think that... You either win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning. Alright, Dom.
Starting point is 00:24:21 I will say the one thing that is kind of take, well, I'm not sure if it makes it better or worse, but knowing that no matter how hard some of them like by how much they beat somebody, they're still only going to get five points. Like even though Tia
Starting point is 00:24:37 blow away that handstand walk event and like put a lot of separation between her and Laura, she only, she just tied. Now she's tied with Laura. So you're saying that they should be using performance court? Hey, Tyler Watkins jumped on the chat real quick. Hey, when is this finale supposed to start? Ten minutes.
Starting point is 00:25:00 Okay, so I'll tell you guys the workout. Okay, tell us. You got it? So the workout is three rounds and then two rounds and then one round. So three, two, one. Okay. First round is three rounds of 25 double unders, five cleans at 225. Then two rounds of 25 double unders, five squat cleans,
Starting point is 00:25:27 then one round of 25 double unders, five clean and jerks. And it stays the same weight? Correct. 225, 155? I don't know for sure what the female loading is. Three rounds, two rounds, one round? Correct. Regular double unders.
Starting point is 00:25:46 Any rest between? It's just all for time oh shit that's gonna be awesome so 15 cleans 10 squat cleans five cleaning jerks oh that'll be i think laura might have the edge on that yeah i mean any clean workout i think i'm giving her the edge on it right now. Especially the squat cleans. Any clean workout. Holy smokes. Can you pull up that women's leaderboard? It'll still be amazing to see Tia send it because Tia's going to try.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Okay, what now about like Roman Fikowski? Starting point is 00:27:47 Alex Kazan is right outside of that. Is that enough for her to make it up? Can she still break? 45 points. It's nine spots. That's a lot. It's squat cleans. She'll be good.
Starting point is 00:28:01 Gabby and Emma aren't going to be bad. Emma can move weight better than i like i think it was at semifinals no no what was the event at the games where i was like oh she snatched 190 or 195 i mean she snatched like she got like 10th or 7th place at the games or 10th 7th or 10th place and everybody thought she was not gonna lift very heavy yeah it's too wide. That's the event down across the bottom. For those of you guys that might just be jumping
Starting point is 00:28:29 in here, it is announced. This is a fun workout, period. I might just do this one just to see what it feels like. It looks just like a fun workout in general. That looks like just mostly because it's all things that I can do.
Starting point is 00:28:45 I like when an invitational workout or a games level workout is something that I can do. We like this event. Everybody's in agreeance here. This is the event we want to see for this showdown right at the end. Yeah, definitely.
Starting point is 00:29:02 Oh, shit. Okay. So if the event starts pretty soon here, what time is it at? 11 o'clock our time? 1 o'clock locally it starts? Seems like it. Okay. All right. So let's get some predictions going for that event then.
Starting point is 00:29:19 We'll start with the women first. Who we got? Oh, I need to pick them. Yeah, you start. You lead us off here. Who's it going to be? Me? Am I starting?
Starting point is 00:29:32 No, Chase is going to start it. Okay, go ahead, Chase. Who am I picking? Guys and girls? Guys? Okay, I'll go guys first. I'm going to say Adler. Adler?
Starting point is 00:29:44 Oh, I'm sorry, John. I'm just gonna like use my brain to make a pick and for the females jc i'm gonna say laura wow man you're two for two okay okay i mean i did pick both last event so you know watch your back i'm not coming for you because my picks are terrible. Okay, John. John, who you got? Jeff and Laura. Jeff and Laura. Jeff and Laura.
Starting point is 00:30:16 Damn, Jeff. I kind of want to go Jeff and Danny. Spiegel? Yeah. I don't, I don't. It's not heavy enough. Got to get the little parallel.
Starting point is 00:30:31 It's not heavy enough. I don't, I just don't think it's, I just maybe don't think it's long enough though to slow her down. That's what I'm saying. You think she's going to be fast? Like what part of that will Laura move slower than her? I see what you're saying but it's not heavy enough for danny to to do what you're thinking and she doesn't have the incentive
Starting point is 00:30:52 that laura does right now yeah like this this might be kind of looking for someone to pick other than laura like kind of like we talked about earlier with the Olivia Kerstetter thing, how she got second in Heavy Grace last year when not many people were just assuming that someone from the first heat would put up such a fast time. So I'm kind of looking for someone like that to make some noise here. But I think the pick is Laura. Is this the most important event of Laura Horvath's career? Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:28 Yes. Great question, and i think so john i'm thinking i don't think so no i think so jr think about this if she wins this event then her games place her games winning and i know for you it might be different but just for general public her games placement is solidified. If she loses the event, it's because Tia wasn't there. Damn. A lot of people would just say because it's the next event, it's always the most important one, you know, cliches like that. But I would just still push back and say unless we're at the games
Starting point is 00:32:02 and it's going into the finale at the games it's not as important but she hasn't had that yet i said the most important up to this point in her career is this the most important event she's ever stepped into yeah i think i think that's legit right like she's never had anything she's never had anything on the line this much ever she's either been way in second place or been way in first place, or it's been in the middle of the weekend. But what I will say is, regardless of this result, I do not think it says a whole lot at all.
Starting point is 00:32:37 That's fair. Regarding who's better, regarding who's going to win next year. No, no, no. I mean – Regarding if her win this year was like – has an asterisk. Like I don't – like who was there was who was there, who was here was who was here, and who's there next year is who's there next year. No, I –
Starting point is 00:32:57 Because just as much as we talk about Laura and Tia, people don't want to talk about how still freaky fit Mal was before she decided not to compete. And like how much of a difference even having her in the games last year would have made. How much of a difference will it make if someone like she or Haley or both of them decide to compete this next year? Like, so I'm very, like, I try to be very careful with the what ifs
Starting point is 00:33:20 when it comes to performances because I think it's disrespectful to the people that do show up and do the work and win i agree i agree wholeheartedly but i just know a lot of general population that will just be the noise you know what i mean yeah like the situation we said of like is this going to discredit which is like no absolutely not are the is that noise going to be out there of course it will i don't think i'm saying i don't want that noise to be out there for her i want it to be like laura won the fittest more is the fittest woman in the world until she's not yeah you know what i mean yeah i agree okay so basically everybody is uh picking laura and uh adler i'm gonna i'm gonna
Starting point is 00:34:04 go tia and i'm gonna go travis mayor, and I'm going to go Travis Mayer. I want my boy to finish with a bang here. You can clean. For him, he could clean. He could do double-unders like a mofo. He's fast at double-unders. He's fast at double-unders. This could be a good event for him, and I would love to see him clean up.
Starting point is 00:34:23 I mean, Travis is – well. I don't know what the updated leaderboard is yet. There's only 20 points out of 5th. Can we check that, Kip? Do we have an update? Or is it still... Not updated yet. Do you think you're touching going every one of these?
Starting point is 00:34:44 If you don't, you lose. No way. I think I've had a single the whole time. I think right now... It's not a lot of cleans, though, Matt. The squat is the hardest part. 30 barbell reps.
Starting point is 00:34:59 30 reps. I've never heard somebody call Matt Sousa. Sousa Matt. Who's Matt? Okay, let me get through a couple of I think you touch and go the power cleans and the clean and jerk and then you don't touch and go the squat cleans.
Starting point is 00:35:21 We have LDY 2742. I read it out because I think it's funny when dave reads them out exactly it's very late for this comment double grace i would love heavy isabel thruster ladder would be cool uh yes um jordan $99 and thank you ldy sorry we should have got to this sooner before we knew the event because jr dropped on the Sebon podcast exclusive. Jordan, Travis Mayer is a double under king. Yes, he is, sir.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Thank you for the $199. Pylons near and on the hill. Oh, my gosh. This is the latest. Hill will be used. Actually, it's funny. This comment just came in five minutes ago. They're going to be indoors, Stephen.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Thank you for the two dollars you need to get better it's two hour lag what are you talking about stevie could be as lag as he wants for two bucks it's it's fine we love it and thank you a3 tpa two dollars laura never won the crash crucible it doesn't matter okay fair enough fair enough okay so um caleb you want to give yours who do you got uh i'm gonna go with travis and laura travis and laura good picks did we get that do we have that pull up we um oh yeah how's that looking what's that looking like it's tight but there is a winner or there's a current leader what we got here
Starting point is 00:36:56 oh wow so who you got the poll 45 votes. So this is basically a bulletproof scientific peer reviewed piece of piece of literature we got. OK, who you got? Tia, 42 percent. Laura Horvath, 58 percent. Well, what do people want? I am really interested to see, though, I think if the weight is 225, 155, and if this really, for a lot of them, not for a lot of them, really, for Tia and Laura, especially for Tia, I think for her it's more about learning what she can do and not about money at this point. And I think it would be so cool if she was just like, let's just see how fast i can drive this car and she does come out touch and going and she she just tries to touch and go the whole thing like i think something like that would be so cool even if
Starting point is 00:37:56 she blows up and finishes eighth or ninth like who cares like for her she can say who cares and that's true what about dann Danny Spiegel on this event? I think John made a good point. I think Chase made a good point too. Because I was trying to think of someone else that could just kind of come out of nowhere that you're not expecting to win and win. But I think maybe the fact that it's not 185 to 75 probably hurts Danny as far as like going faster than those other goals. Can we go to the leaderboard and make predictions now that we know?
Starting point is 00:38:31 Yes. Do we have the men's updated? That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Can we look at that? Yeah. And why Caleb's pulling that up here. Eaton Beaver, 499.
Starting point is 00:38:38 It doesn't feel inclusive when I hear that Rogue isn't testing for fitness. I'm officially offended. By that profile pic, it doesn't look like you're very easily offended or in your comment, very easily offended. I don't know if they aren't testing. It's just not at the focal point of the programming. Yeah, and I think it's smart because they don't make the claim to be,
Starting point is 00:39:00 which is the most important piece of that, right? Because then it gives them a lot of parameters to do with them on the programming they don't have to worry about people like us coming on and saying there's imbalances there's too much pulling blah blah blah which i still say but like and to your point is regardless of like how i and i'll just put myself out there alone may have like gripes of balance or what was programmed or what the standards were like i'm looking at it from a biases of trying to find the perfect test of a balanced test of fitness rogue has never once claimed that to be the thing and you know we said this at the beginning of the podcast is the fact let's take a step back and just see all the things that they have had to deal with with the weather
Starting point is 00:39:40 and everything that they've moved around reprogrammed still trying to make it an incredible show which we have gotten in every event regardless of how long an event may have taken we've gotten a show at the end each time and now at the end four days we have two ties on the women's side first and second third and fourth like that would be nfl scripted if there was such a thing. Yep. So at the end of the day, they are doing exactly what they said they were going to do. And they are giving us exactly what they wanted to give us, which is a show of some of the best athletes in the world.
Starting point is 00:40:15 And we're getting it. Yep. Bill and Katie know how to throw a party. Alex again, dollar 99, not happening on the field. They just announced. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:40:23 You may have the weather, right, but you're not very happening on the field. They just announced. Thank you. You may have the weather right, but you're not very good about the other stuff. Okay, so now that we got the updated men's leaderboard here. Two spots between Brent and Roman. That's way more. Oh, hold on. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:40:38 Let me get this out real quick. First place, Pat Vellner at 605 points. Second place, Jeffrey Adler. Hey, Hopper's not far either. I think it's a three way between them three. Hopper. Yeah. We got Prakowski, 525. Roman Klinikoff at 515 points in fourth place.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Jason Hopper. Jason Hopper. Don't count him out. He's proven mofos wrong. Fifth place at 505. And then Ricky Garrard right behind him in sixth place at 495 points. I think Jay Crouch, she had those five points back from earlier. Oh, good point.
Starting point is 00:41:15 Where's Jay Crouch at? Seventh at 480 points. Yeah, 14th. They didn't adjust that. Travis Mayer in eighth place at 475 points he's moved up the leaderboard quite a bit yellow host day at ninth place with 460 points dallin pepper he's climbed a lot so he'll be fine at this event and this is a good event for him so this is going to be a strong finish from where he was i Look at his placement. 16th, 16th,
Starting point is 00:41:45 10th, 13th, 6th, 11th, 1st, 4th. Are they doing 10 or heats of 5 based off the setup? Do we know? Do they have 10s out there? There are only three platforms out there. Three? I think there's only three platforms out there.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Two rounds and one round. Oh, but they all go together, right? Now, if they did fives, that would be pretty insane. Because the top five that we have here, although they all know what the time to beat is, and just
Starting point is 00:42:18 a freaking slugfest. JR, I have a question for you. Okay. Can I get five to one odds that Travis Mayer finishes in sixth place again? I'm not betting you, but I think it would be. What place is he in now? Seventh?
Starting point is 00:42:43 Eighth? Eighth. Eighth. Eighth, yeah. Oh, I could see him going up to sixth for sure. I just think it would be really funny if you look at how consistent – how freaking consistent his numbers are, like, for this – for a competition like this. And him ending up in sixth place.
Starting point is 00:42:59 Coming off of a year off, yeah. Yeah. I think Chandler could be a sneaky one here too as far as like doing well at this workout. He's the guy that would touch and go
Starting point is 00:43:15 when nobody else is. Which is a bad idea. So I would like to see it. I bet more people do it than you think, Chase. Chase, do you think it's a bad, do you think,
Starting point is 00:43:24 how much worse of an idea do you think it is for an elite-level male than an elite-level female? If it's 225 and 55, how much different do you think it is for the females? 20%. That's nuts. I don't disagree. Easier. 20% easier, right?
Starting point is 00:43:42 Easier for the females. Like if Danny and Laura and Tia came out in round one, touch and go five double unders and then went to singles, no shock and I would not bat an eye. If the guys came out, I don't think there's a benefit to that 25 more cleans and clean and jerks later. It's all sets of five, though. What if the females –
Starting point is 00:44:03 Double unders are going to take 15, 20 seconds most. What if those females did it for the first three rounds? That's what I'm saying. And then they started doing squat clean singles. That's what I think will happen with the men. I think the power cleans will be touch and go. The squat cleans will be singles. And then in the last round of can you do five touch and go clean and jerks.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Yeah, that's going to be – this this is gonna make for an exciting show and like i said bill and katie know how to throw one hell of a party so this thing is gonna end on a bang um before we uh jump off here and this finally v uh event starts anything else any stone we left unturned anything else you guys want to uh say or predict before we round this thing out because next time we come on, it'll be all over. Winners will be announced. Let's predict the podium. Okay. Kick us off. Can I see the scoreboard?
Starting point is 00:44:54 Yeah, let's start off with the men if you still have it up there. Caleb, let's bring up that. I mean, it's kind of solidified with the dudes though, isn't it? Point one. The race for third, there are three huge horses. All six foot
Starting point is 00:45:10 and above. Oh, really? Yeah. Brent, Hopper. I'm going to say Vellner, Adler, and then Fikowski. I think Fikowski does it.
Starting point is 00:45:24 Mmm. Okay. Chase, for the men, your podium picks. and then Fikowski. I think Fikowski does it. Okay. Chase, for the men, your podium picks. Vellner, Adler, Krennikoff. For the record, I think Roman will beat Fikowski in this workout. So Fikowski is only going to finish one place behind him? Yep. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:47 I take JR. Podium for me. The same as Chase's. I'll slide Roman up. Pat, Velner, and Roman running off. Caleb, what do you got? I'm going to say Velner, Adler, and Fikowski. Nobody wants to take the shot on Hopper?
Starting point is 00:46:06 I'm taking the shot on Hopper. You damn know i'm taking the shot on hopper you damn know i've taken the shot that's right i'm going velner adler and then jason hopper he's gonna he's gonna get that third place and i think it's gonna give him a great boost going into the uh into the season that would be freaking awesome i think that would be awesome yeah i would like to see like taylor made a couple comments about, like the mental game for him. Right. And he was saying earlier, you could tell sometimes he just checked out or he would just get over it and kind of pack it in.
Starting point is 00:46:29 And now he's clearly made his catapult back up the leaderboard. These finishes over the last two days have been fantastic. So he could be in a really great mentally mental place and do well to round this off, which I think would, would set him straight into the, for the rest of the season, which would be really cool.
Starting point is 00:46:46 If you look at it, I think out of the top five guys, he has had the best last four events. Yeah. Look at the first place, fourth place, third place, and then the 13th. But yeah. That's great. Three top five
Starting point is 00:47:01 finishes. Anything else? Anything else on the men nope good to go okay let's jump over to the to the women here so here we go chase we'll start with you all right the women i'm gonna go laura tia and i also say that's the event order that they finish in per second. I'm going to say Emma. Yeah. And a Ken's question earlier. Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:35 My grandfather's Irish. John, who you got? Laura Tia. and then Gabby. I think if Alex was within 20 points of those two, then she would win third. But it's just too far. Yeah. Laura, Tia, and Gabby.
Starting point is 00:47:59 Laura, Tia, and Gabby for John. JR? Same. Laura, Tia, and Gabby for John. JR? Same. Laura, Tia, and Gabby for you as well. Okay. Caleb? I'm going to say the same, to be honest. Laura, Tia, Gabby.
Starting point is 00:48:13 You're hopping on that bandwagon. I think it'll look a little reminiscent of what we would have saw at the games had Tia Terakuli had not birthed a human. I think it's going to go Tia, Laura, Emma Lawson. That's going to be women. I think Tia is going to solidify it here.
Starting point is 00:48:36 Yeah, that's who I'm going with until it may not be a popular opinion with her taking the first place. She's just so fucking good. We just talked about her getting better in the, in her like time away when she literally just had a child. And then she just comes and just smacks these women around here on this field.
Starting point is 00:48:55 It's insane. She's undoubtedly one of the best to ever do it. You just can't deny. I know. I mean, I think she's the best, the best to ever do it. It's,
Starting point is 00:49:03 it's undeniable. People could say, Oh, I'm bored of her. And I get that. But here we go. We have the race. This is not boring.
Starting point is 00:49:09 We do know that there is a competitor. And even if or when Tia wins this event, it's still going to make for a great story going into the games. You know she's touchable. Now, there's a lot of time between now and then. So, of course, she's going to get better. But so is Laura. John, you're not buying it.
Starting point is 00:49:24 time between now and then so of course she's going to get better but so is laura john you're not buying it i think what tia has shown uh is she's not it's i don't even care if laura wins i think tia will win the games running away for her yeah yeah for her to be this good um five months out of having a baby i mean i i think she's going to win the games by over 100 points in 2024. I don't think it'll be close. Even if Laura wins. All right, so it looks like the final event is starting now. We'll be back right after it ends in the final interview. Thank you, Chase.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Thank you, John. Thank you, JR. Thank you, Caleb. I wish we could do this live during the event. And just like hang out and watch it. And just lose our minds live. Did we call Audible? Okay.
Starting point is 00:50:11 Thank you to all our wonderful sponsors, CA Peptides, Paper Street Coffee, Toast Spacers, BirthFit, Swolverine. Grill your ass off. Adios, guys. We'll be back shortly after the final event. Hold on to your seats, pants. It's gonna be
Starting point is 00:50:28 crazy. Bye-bye.
