Our mission at Sentinel Training is to preserve the methodology that Coach Glassman founded while continuing to innovate and create devastating fitness. Leading from the front, this is what it means to train Sentinel. What's up everybody? We're live from Miami. Rainy morning for day one of Wadapalooza. Dear Wadapalooza, individual competition. On the stage, joining me, the owner of CrossFit Crash.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Lost a tooth to a dried mango. It's J.R. Howe. Allegedly. Allegedly. And the other guy is Taylor Stump. Let's go, Taylor! We're stuck by the show. How are you guys feeling?
Starting point is 00:04:46 Day one, going into it. It's a little wet. We're excited though. A little muddy. Excited though. A little curious as to what's going to happen on Double or Nothing's covered stage at Tina Hills. Yeah, Tina Hills starts the competition off here with a max lift. I think we're going to get into that a little bit later.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Starting an off-season competition with the strength event used to be standard protocol in a lot of competitions. Nowadays, they're waiting for the second or third day of competition. Fatigue to accumulate. I like it. I think the stage is covered too so it plays well to the rain to start and hopefully the weather clears up before we get on to
Starting point is 00:05:20 Cortadito. Alright, I hear you guys. You're saying it's loud. You just gotta tell me. We can't hear our audio feed into the stream so if it's loud, if it's blowing out your eardrums, I'm kinda sorry, but I'm kinda not. Alright, we're gonna kick off the day. We have a bunch of segments planned for you
Starting point is 00:05:35 guys and the first one we're gonna bring on Brian Spin from the Barbell Spin to go over the top storylines going to day one of Tierra Wadapalooza. Get under this tent, Brian. Brian okay I think that's good Molo please says it sounds good now Thank You Molo please in the comments it is definitely on I turned it on all right Brian thanks for joining us all right hold that close to your face too what's our first story big storyline
Starting point is 00:06:04 going into this year's tier wadapalooza that you got for us? So the first thing I want to talk about is actual competition, but then I woke up this morning and it is raining. So first thing is, what will the weather do to the competition? So Tina Hills is just over there. It's covered. It looks like it's fine. But the next event, Corred is at 230 so uh that one could be an issue with uh having to adjust especially with the heavy barbell they're out at flagler uh very you know under the elements pull up bar yeah it has muscle ups it has power cleans uh so
Starting point is 00:06:43 yeah you know like the good thing about this first day of competition is it's kind of an early day so if they wanted to lay and bump it an hour or two just to get everything dried off i think they could do it yeah i mean that's definitely a possibility i think it's supposed to dry up i think here later this morning but it may be possibly come back this afternoon is there any likelihood that they switch the order of events and do dejaja Vu first? Because I feel like that's a workout that's a little more suited to being done in inclement weather.
Starting point is 00:07:10 I don't know. I mean, you did it. I mean, the box jumps and stuff. If they had the white pads that Rogue uses, those almost like cloth-covered felt tips that covered the box, I think it'd be fine. To me, that workout would be, I guess, better than trying to do bar muscle-ups and hang power cleans in the rain. 100%. 100%. We need a little more juice on that handheld mic and the mic other headset that's not mine, but we'll sure we'll get that. So that's awesome. Have you heard any leaks, Brian, spin on what the rain plans would be? I have not yet. I'm
Starting point is 00:07:41 sure they're evaluating right now, trying to figure out what's going to happen. But nothing at this point. When I was here in 2021, they actually asked us what we wanted the workout to be. So I'm sure they'll just ask Pat, and he'll tell them what his best three movements are, and then they'll have a good day. They do have many of the PFAA members here, so we should be good. Yeah, I actually spoke to a judge that's going to be judging all levels of competition, and she said they've already made some changes to the community divisions and to the gauntlet. All right. Brian Spinn, top headline number two what you got start off with the max lift you know we talked about you guys
Starting point is 00:08:12 talked about it just briefly but to start the competition with a max lift is not seen that in a long time usually it's the the quick runners you know the metabolic conditioning piece of it, monostructural. So, the lift, I mean, you're going to see some guys on the leaderboard at the very top that you're probably not used to seeing there after event one. Guy and Jack Farlow will have about two hours in the number one spot, and then they'll be out for the rest of the weekend. Don't forget Braun.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Outside the top seven. Don't forget Braun. You think he's going to be top three, too? I think Braun could win the whole thing. Ooh. Wow. Man, my Braun. You think he's going to be top three too? I think Braun could win the whole thing. Ooh. Wow. Man, my mic's hot. What's up?
Starting point is 00:08:49 No, I think Braun is one of those guys that, you know, he has great mobility. I mean, I think we've never seen him go as hard as he needs to in a competition. And so with only two attempts, you can't go full out. I think he has more capacity than the other guys another guy to keep an eye out for is Luke Parker something that the semi-finals he was 315 one of the top snatches in semi finals so he's also out there yeah you know it's something else too if you're a guy and you're coming to compete and you know this is your one chance to swing
Starting point is 00:09:23 for the fence you're gonna be a lot more aggressive, I think, than a lot of the athletes that may plan on being in the top five by the end of the weekend with only two attempts. There are going to be a lot of people that play it safer than they normally would. Especially to start the weekend, someone like Braun coming in, taking a risk to start. Yeah, and I know that they talked about the time domain, so 45 seconds each time.
Starting point is 00:09:43 They really want to give the athletes enough time to do the overhead squats to make that important because they know that athletes are probably going to be around the same weight in a lot of cases so the overhead squat tiebreaker will definitely come into play yeah absolutely you know something i talked about last night on the show when we kind of previewed the competition as a whole was we know there's going to be log jams 270 275 280 maybe even 285 but take someone like colton we know how's going to be log jams, 270, 275, 280, maybe even 285. But take someone like Colton. We know how fast his cycle rate is on an overhead squat.
Starting point is 00:10:11 So after he hits, can he get two or three more overhead squats? And the difference between him being in sixth versus him being in like a 13th, if seven guys are all piled up at one weight. Do you think he's going to hit over 270 for the complex? I think it's a wash if he doesn't. He needs to hit over 270 to be with him, to even have a chance at top 10 in that workout. So you think that's where the line's going to be around
Starting point is 00:10:36 270? 275 maybe. Maybe even a little heavier. 270 at a minimum, I think. Alright. Number two? Number three. Number three. Whatever you got. Whatever in order. minimum I think all right number two Daniel number three number three number three whatever you got whatever your order whatever a three uh Danielle Brandon late entry looking at the events I think maybe I'm just speculating here but I think maybe the late edition was she saw the events started thinking
Starting point is 00:11:00 about and goes I like these and why not throw down? I think of anybody in the field, it seems like the programming suits her more than anything. There's a ton of overhead, a lot of high-skilled gymnastics. We know she's one of the best handstand walkers. In general, she has the best overhead position in the game, and so we've got the 70-pound dumbbell snatches, the shoulder-to-overhead in corte de hito, the handstand walks in the final, all the above, really. Those three workouts specifically suit her really well.
Starting point is 00:11:33 And in terms of a strength event, it's probably best-case scenario for her to have the snatch, hang snatch, overhead squat. Yeah, absolutely. And even seeing her at semifinals last year, you know, a lot of people don't think of her as an enduring athlete. She crushed the machine and sled workout. I actually expect her to do really well in the swim. For sure. Yeah, she's a pretty good swimmer. So, I mean, you've listed four of the workouts,
Starting point is 00:11:52 and the strength one is probably better than seeing a deadlift or a clean and jerk. Absolutely. Out of the five events, I would say it's best case scenario for her. Last one, I think what I'm really excited to see is who are the rising stars this year? So we're entering into the 2024 CrossFit Games season. We have some really big names that I think could make a splash at this year's semifinals. John Young's favorite, Austin Hatfield, and John Young's favorite, Grace Walton. Big on those two.
Starting point is 00:12:23 So they're both here in the field. So it would be a good idea to give our first chance to see them with an elite, elite competition. We've seen Austin at Crash Crucible. He's done very well, JR. I talked about this a little bit last night. The way the programming was structured. He's new in the competitive game, but he clearly has that top-end strength and also really, really good high-skill capacity. When we get him in a little bit more of a typical CrossFit competition setting, hitting
Starting point is 00:12:52 something heavy under fatigue, not under fatigue, but under a lot of pressure, and then also getting him in the water, obviously we don't know how good of a swimmer he is. That's going to be the linchpin of that workout. West Virginia boy, right? Yes, West Virginia. Not a lot of water. No oceans in West Virginia. No. And on the flip side, though, Grace Walton, talked to her yesterday, did not realize that she was a very good swimmer. She's done some long 9K swims in the open water. So as long as it's not too cold, she's very comfortable in the water and could be up there on the leaderboard on that long one.
Starting point is 00:13:31 I think to me when we're looking at athletes that stand to break out, at least this weekend, or make a statement, I have an eye towards A, Caroline Stanley, but also Abby Domet. They're games rookies last year, so they might not be flying as low under the radar, but they're not getting a lot of attention, especially in the women's field, to me, which is nowhere near as deep as the men's field. I think someone like Austin Hatfield is going to have a super hard time breaking into that top eight, top seven, because the men's field this weekend is just so deep. Whereas you look on the women's side, and an athlete like Caroline Stanley
Starting point is 00:13:55 or Abby Doman, who are both super well-rounded. I think I saw a video Hillary posted of Abby Doman power snatching some crazy, it was like 185. Yeah, Abby's pretty strong. As a leaner, taller, thinner athlete is unreal. So I expect to see some pretty good things out of both of those two, which I think will make a bit more of a splash maybe than some of the newer guys on the men's side. It's just so deep. You've got Roman, Brent, Fowler, all the above.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Yeah, you know, going back to Austin, like, this would probably be good for cap or no cap, but I could see Austin being the overall leader after day one. We know he's one person in the field that has over a 300-pound snatch, and we know how good he is at gymnastics. He's also a little bit more built for that competition, lots of cycling of the shoulder overhead and the hang power clean. So his range of motion is more conducive to that style of it. I expect him to be in a great position after day one. Yeah. And then also on the women's side, or men,
Starting point is 00:14:56 you think about what Paige Powers did last year. The women's field wasn't as strong but she comes out and wins it and then she follows it up with a 10th place finish at the Games. We've seen Paige at the games, you know, two years ago. Did well, but this was definitely the stepping stone to see that they've improved over the offseason. So somebody like Emily DeRoy, we've not seen her at full capacity at last year's games. I think she had a little bit of an injury. She's back in the field. So, you know, if she has a good weekend, she could make some noise at the games as well this year. Awesome. Brian Spinn. Thank you. Every morning, Brian Spinn will be here to go over the top storylines from the previous day. Stop storylines going to the next day. Thank you, Brian. That brings us to, oh yeah, go ahead, Bryson. Get a little shot of
Starting point is 00:15:42 everyone at home. Wow. look at that massive audience. I know you're all thinking that on the live stream. We're thinking it, too. It's a beautiful rainy day in Miami. Rain is stopped, but it's still very foggy and a dreary day. Awesome. Hopefully it sounds better. Sorry, we have no idea basically what it sounds like going out to the live stream,
Starting point is 00:16:06 but that's just kind of how it is. So keep letting me know in the comments. Cool. That takes us to our next segment. We're going to do... We're going to bring in... Yeah, I think we should bring Pedro. Bring in Pedro White from all the way from Ireland.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Did you just make him kind of... I forgot what an Irish accent sounds like for a second. Kind of Australian, kind of Irish. Where's your mic? Can you talk? Kind of dumb. When I talk exclusively in Irish. Oh, what'd you talk?
Starting point is 00:16:33 Look at these lucky charms. Say 30. Turty? Turty. If we could get that handheld mic up a little bit. We really want to hear that Irish accent. Are we starting what looks like no we're starting with cap or no cap all right
Starting point is 00:16:49 cap or no caps our new segment that we're bringing every day of what a palooza I'm trying to talk white because people say I'm yelling I'm really sorry we're gonna do this every day it's gonna be cap or no cap how it's gonna work is I'm gonna bring a statement to the table for all the panelists answer I'm not gonna answer it it's gonna be a bold statement it's gonna be a hot take and they're gonna say well maybe a hot take maybe not we'll see we'll find out they're gonna say cap or no cap for all you boomers out there no caps like yeah that's gonna happen and caps like hey no
Starting point is 00:17:23 it ain't gonna happen so if I was like, hell no, it ain't going to happen. So if I was like, man, there's a lot of trees here, that'd be like, no Cap, there's a lot of trees, dog. It's Miami. You ain't never told a lie. I ain't never told a lie. What can I say? So that's how this game's going to work.
Starting point is 00:17:36 We're going to play it every day. We'll be bringing up new stuff as the day goes on. So we'll talk about yesterday, today, going into the last day of individual competition. So I'm going to kick us off, and then I'll do a countdown. They all have caps, so we'll talk about yesterday today going into the last day of individual competition so I'm gonna kick us off and then I'll do a countdown they all have caps so we'll figure out all at once whether they're capping or no capping all right first one for the day at least two females will hit 200 plus pounds on double or nothing which double or nothing is the strength event that we're
Starting point is 00:18:00 kicking off with today which we'll get to so at least two females will hit 200 plus pounds on double or nothing if they're not capping they're gonna leave the caps off if they're capping they're gonna put the caps on so three two one oh no cap no cap zero caps you might never told a lie why are we uh why we know capping it's a one it's a one rep snatch plus hang snatch in the max rep overhead squats. We've got athletes like Roe Scott, Danny Spiegel, et cetera. It's a strong women's field.
Starting point is 00:18:32 I think at least three hit over 200. At least three. Okay, yeah, so I would throw those three in, and then maybe someone you already mentioned or Caroline Stanley, there's some stronger females a little lower on the leaderboard. The only thing that worries me a little bit is what those first attempts are going to be like. Are they going to come out really conservative? Because no one's making a jump from probably from 170 to 200 or 205.
Starting point is 00:18:54 So if they're going to hit over 200, they've got to come out relatively heavy. Yeah, don't be a freaking wuss on day one to start the competition. Take a shot. Peter, you're no capping. I watched what JR was doing, and then I did the same thing. Oh, that's so smart. That's what I would do too. Alright, second. Cap or no cap? At least two males will hit 300 plus on Double or Nothing. That's again the same event. At least two males will hit 300 plus. Two. Three. No, two males. At least two males. So more than one. Right.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Okay, yeah. Three, two, one. Oh! Oh! They're capping. Yeah, full cap. Taylor, why are you capping, bro? Full cap. I think Guy hits over 300, and that's it.
Starting point is 00:19:36 I don't think anyone else has the balls to go out there and do that. Maybe Jack Fowler's going to try, but he's not going to succeed. Yeah, I think we'll have more than one who attempts 300. Ron would be the only one. He's the one I'm thinking. Is that why your hat is backwards? Maybe. So what we do know is that on Tina Hills, they're doing heats of 10. Where does
Starting point is 00:19:58 that put Guy and Braun? Are they in the same heat? I think that kind of energy, that kind of back and forth gamesmanship could make one or both or neither of them go for 300 spin how much did you clean and jerk last year 395 II cleaning jerk the guys got balls of steel when it comes to a barbell so we're gonna see him snatch over 300 Andrew Hiller says all of you are high but if he says that then it looks like the only one that's not high is Peter Peter never done jokes you're no kid Peter's no cabin why why Peter
Starting point is 00:20:30 only is it an Irish thing no Jr put on his hat really late no I'm joking I think he I think brawn because this is there like this is their social media for the next four or five months so they know I have a need to hit this man I mean he's been it's been said that he just lifts weights so he needs to lift weights he's gonna do it I think Brown will do it I think to be I think about five will attempt it and I think three will hit it all right we're gonna move a little bit faster here moving to event number dos Colton Mertens will win el corte de tito that was pretty good I went to Spain once all right Colton Mertens will win el corte de Tito that's pretty good I went to Spain once all right Colton Mertens is gonna win el corte de Tito
Starting point is 00:21:11 cappin or no cappin in three two one oh with the fake out the dramatic pause no people loved it in the comments hold on we're getting live feedback from the audience they love dramatic pause from Peter all right why are we all no capping colton's gonna win the workout there's no shot nobody else has a chance easy rush we'll move on that was so easy what's what's good for colton about this workout jr well we know he's gonna cycle a barbell just as fast as anyone else but we also know that his gymnastic stamina is very, very high. He's a professional. I think he'll take short, planned breaks on the bar muscle upsets. He won't be standing around a lot, and he's got a ton of fitness, which I think is going to come into play a little bit more than people think. Colton's fit, he's smart, and range of motion.
Starting point is 00:21:56 Awesome. Okay, we'll move past that. Number two, Rebecca Fusile will win El Cortetido. So we had Colton winning. Everyone said, no cap, Colton's gonna win for sure. But will Rebecca win? 3, 2, 1, and Oh! We got a backwards
Starting point is 00:22:16 cap. Yeah, she's fucked. Frick. Censored. No shot. No shot she wins El Cortetito. No chance. Danielle Brannan El Cortadito. No chance. Your captain. Danielle Brannan. Really?
Starting point is 00:22:28 Danielle Brannan, Taylor's taking. Or Ariel Owen. JR, you're saying Rebecca Fusile's winning. Not even in the top three. Wow. Not even in the top three. Whoa. So when I look at this workout and I see that it's 125 for the females,
Starting point is 00:22:41 I don't think the 125 will come into play at all. I think she's got just as much gymnastics endurance as anyone in the field when you're just looking at that alone. We know the dips aren't going to be an issue, but I think the bar muscle-ups being 36 of them, people are going to be breaking a lot. I just think she's going to be able to hold on for big sets. She's been wearing an elbow sleeve since she was two years old,
Starting point is 00:23:00 and there's also the fact that she didn't qualify for the games this year. You guys are high. High. Peter. Yeah, she wins it. She wins it. I don't know a lot about programming, but when I look at that I see all the gymnastics. I just think of her straight away. If we can still get,
Starting point is 00:23:17 you know what is capping, is JR's mic on the ends. If we could get the mic volumes on the bookends up a little bit, that would be awesome. Thank you. Or I could just try yelling like you. Or I could start yelling.
Starting point is 00:23:30 I don't feel like I'm yelling, but maybe I am. You're a little loud. A little loud guy. High five. I'm not yelling. It's got a hot mic. My right ear is bleeding, but I think it's okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:40 Last one for capping or no capping. This is the last one. Here we go. Cpping or no capping. This is the last one. Here we go. Capping or no capping. The overall leaders after day one will miss the podium. The overall leaders after day one will miss the podium. Only two days of competition. So that means they're leading on day one, and by day two, they've lost all their marbles, everything they've came to play for.
Starting point is 00:24:07 Are we capping or no capping? Three, two, one. We got two cappers and a no capper. Let's go first to JR. JR, you're no cap. Whenever there's a max lift in a competition, I always think of that event as being the one that's going to be the lowest finish for some really, really good athletes because there's going to be so many outliers in the field. When you have lifting without any fitness involved, you're going to
Starting point is 00:24:34 give those outliers a chance to go swing for the fence. And I could see leaders after day one being overall fourth, fifth, sixth by the end of the weekend. Who are some names that you think could be leading after day one? So I already mentioned Austin. I think he has a great chance to do really well on both of these, like top six, top seven on both. But then I also look at someone like Dani. I think Dani can easily win the snatch workout.
Starting point is 00:25:02 And I think her gymnastics are a little bit slept on in the field. I think she's going to do fine on El Cortadito. Let's go to Peter. Peter, your sideways cap and what does that mean? Is there any signal in the sideways cap or is that an Irish thing as well? It just means that I have absolutely no confidence in any of my knowledge about the sport at all, so I'm just going sideways. No, I think that I don't –
Starting point is 00:25:24 I think if it was like the overall leader on the female side won't or the overall – but the fact that both won't, I think that it's just too big of a statement to say like that it's definitely going to happen. Taylor. I think there's way too much fitness in events two and three in the double scored for the person who leaves day one in the overall lead to fall off the podium.
Starting point is 00:25:44 I just think there's too much going on in those two workouts and if you're in the lead after day one you've done well on those and I expect you to do well on the final and likely the endurance test as well all right Peter's gonna stay on the stage with us for this you Thank you. Check, check, check. I think we're back, actually. We're back in the comments. Do we have audio? Do we have audio?
Starting point is 00:27:54 Can you let us know? Alt F4. Yeah, we know that doesn't work. I think they're back. Okay, we're back. Thank you. The live studio audience tells us we're back. Thank you, Travis.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Give it up for Travis. And what? Megan. Travis and Megan. Great job. Thank you, Travis and Megan. All right, here's what we're doing. We're going to do a looks like segment.
Starting point is 00:28:17 And you might have got a little teaser last night on the electric Waterpalooza, tier Waterpalooza preview show on the on podcast little teaser a little taste but now we're gonna go folding in so what we're gonna do is we have a list of looks like of celebrities some celebrities some not maybe you can decide who's who and we're gonna go through and we're gonna leave read them off it's like I don't know I like the guy like the guy that works at your coffee shop and serves you coffee every day. Something like that. That's a stupid one. Will looks like he's still breastfeeding. I'm setting the bar really low, so we're going to pass it around.
Starting point is 00:28:56 So this is what it looks like. We're going to start with Peter. He's doing a poll, so this one is three for one person. The poll is asking a lot right now. We just lost the stream, but I'm going to do it. Come on, baby. Okay, so does this person look more like one of these three things? Three things. You guys have to vote.
Starting point is 00:29:14 Okay, so up first. It's all Andrew Hiller. All Andrew Hiller. Hiller fit. Andrew Hiller. Taylor is mouthing along word for word what I'm reading. I'm only a quarter of the way on the spectrum, sorry. Andrew Hiller looks like the guy rubbing his hands together aggressively
Starting point is 00:29:31 while being introduced as your wife's therapist for a couple's massage session for your anniversary. Or Andrew Hiller looks like the guy who swore he didn't know she was your sister. Or Andrew Hiller looks like he coaches your daughter softball team but he can't make the game because his license is suspended from his latest DUI he actually does look like all three of those he does and we're not gonna put a poll but you can just put in the comments cuz yes you can put in a massage therapist sister or softball coach
Starting point is 00:30:06 again the winner from last night's poll for anyone that didn't listen along with james sprague we had a really close battle between the guy that always puts his mouth on the water fountain or the guy or the kid that steals his mom's uh addall, and it ended up being the water fountain. I'm seeing a lot of three. I'm seeing a lot of sister in there, softball coach. We're getting a range of answers. That's awesome. I'm going to move on to number two for us.
Starting point is 00:30:40 So we're doing number two, the looks like session. This is a good friend of ours. Chase Ingram looks like that local golf pro that just tells your wife, it's all in the hips. Next. Bill Grundler looks like the mechanic that tells you it's gonna be at least a week until he can get to your tire pressure while wiping the oil off his hands with a dirty rag. 100%. until he can get to your tire pressure while wiping the oil off his hands with a dirty rag. A hundred percent.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Brooke Wells looks like the girl you ask at a high school party where the bathroom is, and her response is, I have a boyfriend. All right, guys, for everyone that's listening right now, we do not know what these are. We are just reading them. Other people have written them. Justin Kotler looks like a youth pastor that wears flip-flops with jeans. Facts.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Tyler also looks like that guy. Brent Fikowski looks like he practices his golf swing while he's talking to you about his Dogecoin portfolio. Thank you Brent. Love you Doge. Matt O'Keefe looks like he wants to speak to your store manager. That's it. That's it. That's all it is. That's all it is. That's it. Chris Hinshaw. Was it planned that you started with Peter?
Starting point is 00:32:12 Yes. Chris Hinshaw looks like he brushes his teeth in the airport bathroom. Chris Hinshaw looks like he brushes his teeth in the airport bathroom. Facts. I can see it. Dental hygiene is key. He keeps a toothbrush in his back pocket. Where am I? Emma Lawson looks like the girl who laughs no matter what you say.
Starting point is 00:32:36 It's facts. Pat Belner looks like he's told you three times this last week about holding the record for shotgunning a beer fastest in his frat. And that's looks like. We'll be back every day with that segment. They're going to continue to build. I feel like Sunday is just going to be on a tear. We might get pulled off the stage by the administration. It's definitely going to get more aggressive as the week goes on.
Starting point is 00:32:58 We're breaking the ice with a 5 out of 10 on the mean scale, but we expect to reach a 9. Hey, and for all the listeners out there, you go to shut up and scribble Instagram send us some looks likes if you've got some good ones send them in and we'll read them tell us what will looks like in the comments yeah that'd be great I'd love that and if you get a looks like about you you can send us looks like about us so if you want to tussle a little bit we're always down for a little tussling so Brooke Wells I know you're listening if you want to send us what we look like, we're totally down for that. I don't think she got hers. Oh. I don't think she's
Starting point is 00:33:31 listening either. She's in the comments. Oh, it's Brooke Wells in the comments. Awesome. So that's what it looks like. We'll be back with that tomorrow. Let's talk about programming we gotta talk about the programming for the day so Peter as much as you are a programming s expert we're gonna escort you off thank you to Peter from coffee pods and watts go check them out he'll be doing podcasts from the podcast stage throughout the weekend so definitely check out our buddy. All right. you you you you you Продолжение следует... Thank you. you you Oh, there we go.
Starting point is 00:37:44 We might be back. Something's echoing. We got an echo. We have a bad echo. Yeah. Fix it in post. Probably the four streams I've opened. We have... Fix it in post. What is that from? Probably the four streams I've opened.
Starting point is 00:38:14 All right. So, I think we have audio. There we go. All right, so I'm just going to go here. Hopefully you guys can hear the audio. We're just going to go with this webcam because I'm not quite sure what's going on. And audio looks okay. And we'll see if – are the cameras still on? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:00 We're just going to go with this. Every time I switch to our sound board or whatever this is called, video board, we stop being able to see us. It's just black. So we're not going to do that. I don't know what. All right, we're just going to go with this. Wow. Thank you. Who was it?
Starting point is 00:39:48 Barry McCockner gave us $4.99 for audio. I just wanted to say his name live. Thank you. Love you, Barry. All right, everyone, get in here close. So we're going to pile in. The Zoom on the stream is very small. Poor guys on the couch. That's what we're calling to pile in. The zoom on the stream is very small. Four guys on a couch.
Starting point is 00:40:07 That's what we're calling our next podcast. Four guys, one couch. Okay. We're going to go and look at today's events, which this overlay is even bigger so you can see less of us. All right. Skip this way. I'll just call it out.
Starting point is 00:40:22 We got three events today. Or that way, rather. Double or nothing. Court de tiro. Je j'avoue. this way I'll just call it out we got three events that way rather double or nothing court that video jay-zah boo and so what we're gonna do well has a speech impediment so I'm gonna take over right now I think that's how you say them so what we're gonna do is we're gonna go through these these events for the day every day and we're gonna either say they're sussing or they're bussing what does that mean that yeah for all you boomers they're sussing or they're bussing. What does that mean? Yeah, for all you boomers out there, sussing means suspect. So it's like, man, that event, it ain't adding up.
Starting point is 00:40:51 And then bussing is like, that event is insane. It's so good. Juicy. It's fast. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then there's also a mid option. If you want to take the middle ground, you don't want to piss people off, you can be like, oh, it's mid, middle of the pack.
Starting point is 00:41:05 Sounds like me. You guys are saying it's all cringy. Perfect. That's what we wanted. All right. Now explain Bidussi. No, no. Bruh.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Okay. Workout number one. Double or nothing. Two attempts for one RM, one snatch, one hang snatch. Tie break is max overhead squats. Tyler, are you playing this game with us? I'll play, yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:41:33 JR, you're starting for us. Sussing or bussing on double or nothing? Double or nothing, bussing or sussing? I'm going to go mid on this, actually. Mid? Yeah. Competition, 500 points, having a one rep max, lift, it's a complex. It is what the fans want to watch.
Starting point is 00:41:53 A lot of people want to watch heavy lifting. When you look at the event over the totality of the competition, you need something heavy. But I'm just more biased and partial to one that has some more fitness involved. So, yeah, I say it's mid. Taylor. I'm going to say I'm busting on this one. I would say it's probably.
Starting point is 00:42:09 Busting? With a T. That's not the game, bro. That's not the game. That wasn't a slip. I like the max overhead squat portion of it. I think it adds. I think, one, the snatch is probably the most athletic lift.
Starting point is 00:42:25 I like to have a hang snatch as well. And then finishing with the max overhead squats. I just really like the workout as a standalone strength test. Those are not my favorite elements of programming when you do a single modality in a short competition. But in this format, I love it. All right. Tyler, are you playing this game with us? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:43 I'm going to say. Lean in here, bro. I'm going to say – Lean in here, bro. I'm going to say Bussin. Ooh, Bussin. As far as – With no T. Yeah, no T. He's playing the game right. As far as an athletic ability, being able to game the situation,
Starting point is 00:42:56 know what you're capable of in the heat of the moment, I like athletes' abilities, pick their own snatches on this. We're going to see some crazy fails. It's going to be entertaining, so I'm going to go with Bussin. Will? I'm not playing the game. Sorry about it. All right, event number two of the day,
Starting point is 00:43:15 Cortartido 21-15-9 parallel bar dips, hang power cleans into 15-12-9, shoulder to overhead, bar muscle-ups. There's a plane going overhead. It's about to drop free. Something for everybody. All right, so I believe the weight on the bar is 185. 125. 125.
Starting point is 00:43:34 All right, quarter to geto. JR, sussing, bussing, or mid? Bussing. Bussing for real. Bussing. No T. On God. On God.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Yeah, so I really, really like this workout. Back-to-back couplet, something we've seen before at Waterpalooza. The year Taylor competed, Celebrate 10 was a back-to-back couplet, weightlifting and gymnastics. I think it's cool that they're keeping that trend going, and this has the potential to be my favorite workout of the weekend. Taylor. I'm going to say this one is as well busting. I think the 21-15 bar tips and hang power cleans. I love the combination. I love the take on Elizabeth. And then I love going into it with bar muscle-up shoulder overhead. It's one of the nastiest combinations these guys are going to see all weekend.
Starting point is 00:44:15 We're going to expect to see some failures on the shoulder overhead. I know you guys are reading this and thinking that the barbell looks like. Well, I'm here to tell you, these guys are going to make it look look heavy he's here to tell us they're going to make it look heavy and to bust i'm going with bussing bussing athletes are going to have to pace this well and take really big chances on this workout and they can screw it up from the beginning they're going to have to like in the last little bit go unbroken when they're not comfortable it's going to be super entertaining so i'm going with bussing all right we got straight bussing down the board the water pollution people are going to love to hear that bussing all over this board take it easy bro take it easy family family environment all right we got one more event
Starting point is 00:45:01 for the day deja vu this is taking me back if you you want to see Taylor do Deja Vu, you can go to the Sevan podcast and watch him do it earlier this week. It's a three-minute interval, five-minute interval, and then four times. So basically you do this. You start the workout three times, and the first time you start the workout, you go until you get to three minutes, and it's how many reps you get in that portion. Then you take a minute for rest. Then you go in that portion. Then you take a minute for rest. Then you go for five minutes. Then you take a minute for rest.
Starting point is 00:45:29 And then you do the workout for time. Yeah, for everyone that still may be a little bit confused by the scoring system. You're good. Go ahead. People are confused by this scoring system? No, no, no. I was just going to say three-minute AMRAP, one-minute rest. Sure.
Starting point is 00:45:44 Five-minute AMRAP, one minute rest. Five minute AMRAP, one minute rest. Then for time, at the end, all the reps that you got over the course of the three intervals, add them together. That's one score. Half of a full score. So 50 points worth. Then whatever you did on that last interval is stand-alone time as an individual score. And the workouts
Starting point is 00:45:59 25-20 Assault Calorie Row, 30 wall balls, 35 chest-to-bar pull-ups. 30 box jump-overs. 25 dumbbell snatches. And the wall balls is 20 and 15. 20 and 14 pounds. The box is a 30 and 24 inch, which I think is going to be quite a large chunk of the workout.
Starting point is 00:46:18 And the dumbbell snatches. Why on the box? It's a mandatory step-down. Mandatory step-down. From 30 inches for men is going to provide quite the challenge. And then the dumbbell we're finishing with 100 pounder for guys 70 pounds for ladies. Alright, JR, bussing, sussing, mid? Bussing. I think I'm going to give my bussing, I'm going to give my colleagues some credit here. I think those
Starting point is 00:46:40 in the space that think all these competitions don't watch each other's competitions and look for programming and stuff like that. Taylor programmed a similar interval style workout for his competition. We're used to seeing the 2-2-3 format or maybe even the 2-2-2 format. This gets increasing with the time domain as the rest stays the same. I love it. Taylor, Bussin or Sussin? I love the workout. It's Bussin. I think this workout in particular is going to be incredibly metabolically demanding for these guys. People are going to be hurting quite a bit. I also like the fact that there are a lot of different elements in the workout.
Starting point is 00:47:13 There's monostructural, there's weightlifting, and there's a couple different gymnastic elements. On top of that, you've got to be fit, but you also have to be super smart. Guys are going to make mistakes in that first interval. They're not going to be able to recover in the five and the for time and then you're going to see people who are the fittest and the smartest take the win all right tyler watkins from heat one app i'm going to disagree with my colleagues on this one this is a fan favorite or a analyst favorite i'm going sussan i don't like that this is a double-scored event. I like the event itself. I just wish it was one score. So that's the only flaw that this has to me.
Starting point is 00:47:50 And that's why Tyler does a fantasy game. Wow, and you guys can't see at home, but security is coming out of the forest to take Tyler Watkins away for saying that workout's Sussan. Okay, awesome. We've got to move pretty quickly here. We've lost some time to technical difficulties. We're going to move into our last segment for today. Tyler's still on for this, so don't go anywhere, Tyler.
Starting point is 00:48:08 And if you move, you knocked the court off last time, so I don't trust you getting off the couch. you you Can you guys hear us? We're back, possibly. Oh, we are back. Okay, we're going to move really fast through here. So we're going to go for event winners of the day. We're going to possibly. Oh, we are back. Okay, we're going to move really fast through here. So we're going to go for event winners of the day. We're going to go through here, and then we're going to give you the top ten predictions for each of these guys.
Starting point is 00:49:31 Who's going to be their top ten? JR, on Double or Nothing, who's your event winner pick for men and women? I'm going to go Guy and Danny on Double or Nothing, event winners. All right, Taylor. I got Guy and Ro, Scott. And I'm not picking. Tyler. For me, personally, I have Jack Farlow and Roe and Scott.
Starting point is 00:49:51 For the fans, we have Guy Maheros and Danny Spiegel. Wow, the fan vote from Heat 1 app. That's all I am, man. And Tyler picks the milkman. I pick the milkman. All right, for workout two, Cord Tatito. That's not how you pronounce it. Cord Tatito. Roll it harder. Cordarito. All right, for workout two, Cortadito. That's not how you pronounce it.
Starting point is 00:50:13 Cortadito. Roll it harder. Cortadito. All right. JR, who's your picks? Cortadito. I have on my Heat One app, Ariel Lowen. And for the men, Colton Mertens. Taylor, who's your picks? I've got Colton and Danielle. Tyler Watkins from the Heat One app. Who's your picks? I have Austin Hatfield and Ariel Loewen. Wow. I love it. Starting point is 00:50:37 Danielle, sorry. Awesome. Okay. And then for the third workout, Deja Vu. JR, who's got it? Okay, so let's go part one. Deja Vu. JR, who's got it? Okay, so let's go part one Deja Vu. Tyler, you want to do a full event as a whole? The whole workout as a total.
Starting point is 00:50:50 Whole workout. Who pulls the most points? We have both. Okay. Yeah. For the first part, I like Emma Carey and Pat Vellner for the reps portion. Pat Vellner for the reps portion. For the full workout, or the for time portion, I have Daniel Brandon and

So scan the QR code, enter the Worldwide Leaderboard, and you have a chance to win. JR, who's your top 10 for men? All right, top 10 on the men's side I have the professor. Starting point is 00:52:30 Then I've got Roman, Pat, Ricky, Sam, Cornwallier, Spencer Panchik, Sam Quant, Austin Hatfield, Colton Mertens, and E. Wow. Dumb picks. Taylor, your picks. Roman Krennikoff, Pat Vellner, Ricky Garrard, Brent Fikowski in fourth, Sam Quant in fifth, Cornoye in sixth, Luke Parker in seventh, James Sprague in eighth, Spencer Panchik in ninth, Colton Mertens in tenth.
Starting point is 00:52:56 Wow, that's amazing. He said Brent Fikowski. I think he meant Fikowski. Tyler Watkins. One, Roman Krennikoff, Garrard Sam quant Brent Kowski Brent Kowski's in fourth Pat Vellner in fifth Sam Cornway in six Spencer pan chicken seventh gear may in eighth Nick Matthew and ninth and Alex Vino to round it out Wow the whole crowds booing out those are the worst pics they've ever seen

I'm going to go with Ariel Lohan in first, Gabby Migawa in second, Danielle Brandon in third, Emily Rolfe fourth, Emma Carey in fifth, Olivia Kerstetter in sixth, Abigail Domet in seventh,

To win it, Gabby Magala, Danielle Brannan in second, Emma Carey in third, Danny Spiegel in fourth, Ariel Lowen in fifth, Emily Rolfe in sixth, Matilda Garns in seventh,, Olivia Kerstetter in 8th, Fee Sagafi in 9th,
