Starting point is 00:00:00 There are multi-billionaires walking around the world and they can barely get out of bed. I made a decision. It's like, okay, no matter how much success, money, whatever, if I don't feel good, life's going to just suck. That's why I feel such a calling and a purpose because this isn't like my information. And a lot of it's not taught in high school. It's not taught in college. And unless you know people like you or Dana White, you're not getting the right information. That's why most people struggle financially and on a health standpoint. And the truth is people are not uneducated. They're just ignorant about the alternatives. These rich, wealthy people, they think they're above. You want to be an ultimate human? Be a freaking good human too. 3% of the world own 97% of all the gold, the crypto,
Starting point is 00:00:39 the stocks, the real estate. Another great piece of advice that somebody gave me that I give to people now, don't listen to 97% of people. If everyone's going right, you probably should go left. For people that are watching the podcast that are like, I have a dream, I have a vision, how do you start those people off? I'm your host, Gary Brekka, human biologist, where we go down the road of everything anti-aging, biohacking, longevity, and everything in between. And today I am so fired up. I just introduced the guest, as you know, but he is more than just the accomplishments that I read into the
Starting point is 00:01:31 teleprompter. He's actually a personal friend. I'm very close with his family. We're going to talk about our personal journey today. I have known this guest for going on eight years now. He's been an integral part of my journey. I've been a part of his health journey. He's been an inspiration to me. I assume I've been an inspiration to him too, but I'm so excited about this podcast. Welcome to the podcast, Alex Morton. Hey man, super, super excited to be here today and just congrats on everything from where you were to where you are today and the millions of lives you're changing. It's just an honor to be your friend.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Dude, it's an honor to be with you too, man. I remember when we first met. And just to take it back a little bit, a lot of people don't know our history. And they know we're friends and we've spoken at each other's stages and things, but they don't know our history. And when my wife and I, it was actually my girlfriend at the time, then fiance, then wife. My girlfriend, Sage, and I at the time when I left my previous career, she was a real estate agent, decided to start this little wellness franchise, Streamline Medical Group. We opened in a strip mall in Naples, Florida, in an old vitamin shop. And what's crazy is that we were in this little strip mall,
Starting point is 00:02:47 the vitamin shop. There was an LA Fitness, and I was like, okay, there's the busiest LA Fitness in Naples right down the sidewalk, so we're going to open here. We'll get some foot traffic. And we got off the ground, and we were doing really decent, and we had landed Grant Cardone as a client, which for us was like catching a army deck.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Right? And I got introduced to you through a former employee of ours, Justin Armstrong. Justin Armstrong. Yep. And he introduced us. You were killing it in the network marketing space. You're still killing it in the network marketing space.
Starting point is 00:03:19 And when we met, talk a little bit about when we met, because that's when our journey started. Yeah. And then I want to tell some funny stories. Yeah. I mean, I was renting, right? I was not, now we own, but I was renting back in the day at Porsche Tower. And I'm sitting there doing my calls and stuff, you know, doing well, making money.
Starting point is 00:03:35 And Justin, he's like, dude, are you in Miami? I'm like, yeah. He goes, you got to come to Naples. I'm like, why? It's Naples, a bunch of old people, right? And he goes, no, there's this guy. I think he was working for you at the time. Yeah, he was working for me.
Starting point is 00:03:48 And he's like, this is the smartest person I've ever met. He knows everything about science. You're trying to get in better shape. Just trust me. There might be a business opportunity. You got to meet this Gary guy. And dude, Miami to Naples is like, I don't know what, 60 minutes? Two hours.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Two hours, yeah. So I'm thinking something like my intuition, the universe was like, dude, get to Naples is like, I don't know what, 60 minutes? Two hours. Two hours, yeah. So I'm thinking something like my intuition, the universe was like, dude, get your butt in the car and go. And I was living with my guy, Logan, who was like training me a little bit here and there. And he's like, okay, let's just do it. And I remember we drove to Naples. I don't know if we went and ate. There was a restaurant next to your spot. We got grilled
Starting point is 00:04:25 chicken. Tacos and tequila. Tacos and tequila, yeah. I remember eating grilled chicken and like refried beans with Justin. And we just started talking. And, you know, after working with so many people all over the world, I developed a thing where it's like, I know like good people and like maybe people that don't have the best intentions. And you were just giving off a very genuine spirit. You were just as excited back then as you are today. And I was like, I just fell in love with like the passion and the enthusiasm for, you always talk, you never talked really about money. You talked about like, dude, I'm putting people on this and that, and they're feeling better
Starting point is 00:04:57 and their marriage is better. And you know, they're running at the gym now next door. They're not hurting anymore. So I kind of like fell in love with your your vision and the belief you had to go out there and bring like real solutions to you know sick people like helping people get well and that kind of started it and i remember all those meetings and sitting there and putting yeah yeah yeah he was injecting um b vitamins into into his shoulder prescribed by a doctor.
Starting point is 00:05:25 Just so you know, we had a licensed medical physician. Dr. Campamore was an anesthesiologist in Naples who was our clinic director. But I still remember you in the back of the clinic when they were teaching you how to do your first injection. In that little closet room. Yeah, it was like a little room. And we brought him in there and he had to take the alcohol prep pad and swipe your shoulder. And they're like, okay, go right in there in the deltoid. And he took the cap off the needle and he would start and he would go.
Starting point is 00:05:52 And he wouldn't break the skin. And he's like, is this really good? I'm going to pass out. I'm like, you're not going to pass out. He's like, I'm going to pass out. And then he'd go. There's a video of that somewhere. Darned it, dude. Dude, I've got gotta find that video because it i'm gonna dub it into this podcast i swear i'm gonna i'm gonna spend the time and find it because and then
Starting point is 00:06:13 finally he backs that needle up like a foot now you only need to go about a quarter of an inch away from the skin he backs up a foot just hammers it in and he pushes it in he was so happy it was like a kid learning how to swim or something and um and then that started our journey and you know we did blood work and gene testing on you you were you were um if i if you don't like a little on the heavy side at that 200 and my highest was 227 pounds yeah um and i knew stuff was wrong with me. Like after my first company, I did well. And then I decided to leave that first company and things took a big turn. Like I tell people now it was like rock bottom to rock star back down to rock bottom. And I remember wow. Living in a one bedroom condo in Scottsdale, Arizona. This was like right before I met you. And I'm 200, I think 227 pounds, highest ever anxiety. I don't think I was depressed,
Starting point is 00:07:11 but I was like some nights I was like crying myself to sleep. I didn't, I didn't feel good. Yeah. I just didn't remember that. And you were talking about the anxiety when we met. Yeah. And then, you know, and even fast forward a little bit later, like I was making a lot of money. And I remember I walked off a stage in Lima, Peru. And at that time, I was making close to seven figures a month. And I'm like, why am I sad? Why am I crying in the shower? I just got off a stage and I'm taking selfies with 500 people.
Starting point is 00:07:37 And I'm like, dude, something's just jacked up. And I remember we did the blood test and you're like, dude, your test is floored out. Your D3 levels are here. Your triglycerides. I was just a freaking mess. Yeah. Yeah. You had even at that age, which is really good.
Starting point is 00:07:53 You mind if we throw this out there? We can edit it later. No, we can do it. But you had what we call metabolic syndrome. You know, you had a little bit of abdominal obesity. You had high triglycerides, hypertriglyceridemia. So your blood fats were really high. You were insulin resistant.
Starting point is 00:08:11 You were right in the pre-diabetic range. And insulin was through the roof. So the insulin wasn't bringing down the blood sugar. And liver enzymes were a little on the elevated side. And we didn't, I don't remember you having high blood pressure, but it's another one of the signs of metabolic syndrome, but you had all of these other markers of metabolic syndrome. Your vitamin D3 was in the single digits, which I couldn't believe. And then we did a gene test and we said, look, there's nothing wrong with you. Your body's just missing raw materials.
Starting point is 00:08:43 And I remember that we really identify you and i both identified with that like you weren't looking for a pharmaceutical or chemical or synthetic solution you were like i want to fix this shit and i want it to be permanent and and i'm willing to put on the work and and to your credit i've never seen anyone flick a switch. Yeah. Overnight, like no junk food, no bread, no dairy. You went, we did a 10-week keto reset. You were militant on the keto. You didn't miss a day in the gym. Justin Armstrong is a monster.
Starting point is 00:09:14 He still is. We were training. I mean, I was coming to Naples. We were training twice a day. We were doing the B vitamin, the McB injection. Yeah, McB12. Yep. And glutathioneione doing some stuff and i just
Starting point is 00:09:27 once i started to feel just a little bit better because i have an addictive personality right and it's because i know i'm not the smartest person in the world but i basically took my mentality in business and i said okay if i can do this in business and success this is even more important yeah like we were talking about earlier there there are multi-billionaires walking around the world and they can barely get out of bed. We're just talking about one before the podcast. Yeah. Right. So it's like I made a decision.
Starting point is 00:09:52 It's like, okay, no matter how much success, money, whatever, if I don't feel good, if I don't feel good in clothes, if I don't have a good self-image and self-confidence, dude, like life's going to just suck. Yeah. And I said, let's go all in. Yeah. And you went all in. And what are you weighing right now this morning i weighed 189 but i just got off a two and a half month uh nine country tour so i did eat a little junk food there me and my wife drank a little bit of red wine here and there in italy you know i saw your instagram yeah it was fun you know but now i'm back in i'm back home in miami and I'm, dude, I worked out twice yesterday.
Starting point is 00:10:25 I did cardio before I came and saw you. I'm going to go lift weights later tonight. Like I'm, I'm militant about it. Back on. Maybe we'll even do it like a steam cold plunge before we get out of here tonight. Um, I got all the toys, toys here in the unit, but it was just, it was just such an amazing journey. And, and, um, I've only brought this up one other time.
Starting point is 00:10:41 I've only thanked you one other time for this, but we actually got to a point. I don't talk much about our business, the business side of things, but I started a business with a girlfriend who again became a fiance and a wife. And anybody that tells you you can go into business with your spouse and separate business from your personal life
Starting point is 00:10:58 is lying to you, first of all. I'll just throw that right out there. You have a good day in the office, you have a good day at home. You have a really bad day in the office, you have a bad day at home. You have a really bad day in the office, you have a bad day at home. And the financial stress that was on us, I was such a believer. I was literally blinded by belief.
Starting point is 00:11:14 I got to keep going, but I'm going to go a little bit deeper on that. Okay, because I was super blinded by belief. And so I had no fear. I knew that it was going to work out. I always, I saw the end destination, maybe not as, as well as it's gone, but I mean, I saw this end destination and, um, and, and my, my wife is a little more fear-based. She's very rational. Um, we were like the yin and the yang in business. We actually learned, we read a book called, um, uh, Rocket Fuel and actually
Starting point is 00:11:43 saves our relationship because it taught us how to respect each other in the business. But right at that time, we were about to make the biggest butt of our lives. And we had just come out of a period where Sage had come home one day and said, listen, 90 days from today, we are either going to miss the mortgage or we're going to miss the payroll. And you got to decide what we're going to miss. Are we going to miss the mortgage or are we going to miss payroll? I go, well, we're not going to miss the mortgage or we're going to miss the payroll. And you got to decide what we're going to miss. Are we going to miss the mortgage or are we going to miss payroll? I go, well, we're not going to miss payroll. Nobody's going to work for me. And at the end of the month when they work for me, I'm going to tell them.
Starting point is 00:12:12 That's what I was going to share. We were having dinner in the Naples house. And that is when the conversation came about. Because in my memory, I was thinking it was either yeah mortgage or payroll and i remember you you're like and here's the thing people gotta understand now it's like gary brekka and it's ultimate humans this massive massive thing like i remember knowing you in that time frame and one of the things i teach is about desire and belief and all that and listen like your your back was so far against the wall oh and your tenacity i know
Starting point is 00:12:48 i got goosebumps i got goosebumps the the tenacity and the belief level in yourself and the mission and the vision like it was it was uh you it was like shaking the house and that's why i was calling all these people like dude this guy you don't know him. Like, I, I guarantee you. I remember you used to say that. He's going to be bigger than everything else. And that's, and that was the Grant thing. I said, dude, you got to meet this guy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Like you have no idea. The Cardone, that's right. The Cardone Calp. He was like, put money in here. And I'm like, if I put a quarter million with you, you've got to take 20 minutes and meet my friend. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then you blew his mind. But it was the belief, man.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Yeah, it really was like, yeah, people need to understand because everyone watching this has their own business or whatever it is they're striving for. Like you are an epitome of burning desire, massive belief and like, dude, nothing was going to stop. They were going to have to kill you. Yes, yes. Stop. They're coming pretty hard right now.

Starting point is 00:14:50 Now let's get back to the Ultimate Human Podcast. But you're right. I just never felt that fear and never felt that anxiety. And I'm sure that some people deal with that. And my back was really against the wall because I had three kids in three different – I had a kid in grade school, a kid in middle school, and a daughter in high school. So I had three kids in three different public schools. We had Sage's daughter who was also living with us. She was really young at the time. And it's so funny. I just never talk about this time in my life.
Starting point is 00:15:18 But Sage was so pragmatic, and she was like, yeah, we're going to either miss the mortgage or we're going to miss payroll. And I was like, well, we've got to either miss the mortgage or we're going to miss payroll. And I was like, well, we got to sell the house then. It's simple to me. Put it on the market. But that's what it takes. And by the grace of God, the house sold. I put it on the market with my friend, Pat Dearborn. House sold in 24 hours.
Starting point is 00:15:41 Sold the next day. It's like one of those where you list it. And then you have seller's remorse. You're you're like well i should have asked for more you know then i was mad you know if it didn't sell for six months i would also be mad but it sold in 24 hours 30 days later we were out and what and we went from four cars to one car um we have four vehicles we went to one car to get all all the kids to and everything. We moved into Sage's rental home, which was a very small, very humble rancher, two bathrooms, you know, four kids, us, sharing bedrooms.
Starting point is 00:16:12 And I almost didn't even notice because, you know, what you're saying. I was like so focused on this house. You were so focused on where you were going. So excited about the business. But you introduced us to Grant Cardone. We had this huge opportunity. And we had virtually no savings.
Starting point is 00:16:29 And we realized it was going to be $150,000 for us just to get to the GrowthCon event. That could be the biggest event of our business career. Because, you know, here we were in this little little tiny strip mall and we were doing well we were adding you know patient at the patient we were you know slightly profitable i was trying to hire more nurses um and the business was it was actually going decently well but we had this huge event 35 000 people marlin state marlin stadium i remember Marlin Stadium. And I was like, I don't care what it takes. I will mow lawns, but we're going to get the money to put the infrastructure together to buy the inventory so we can get to that event.
Starting point is 00:17:16 And at some point we sat down and had that conversation and you believed so much in us and the transformation that you had undergone. You actually stroked us that check for 150 grand. Yeah. I will never ever forget that. Thank God I did. Cause now, you know, millions of people are feeling better. No, thank God you did, man. Because I don't know what would have happened had you not, you know, it's one of those tipping points in your life where you just go, wow, that was a tipping point for me. And that's why I'm eternally grateful to you for that.
Starting point is 00:17:50 Because you bet on Gary Brekhoff when Gary Brekhoff was not. Dude, I was trying to get people to bet on you, man. I remember I flew in a couple guys from Colorado. I was trying to get to 1,000 followers on Instagram. And they're like, yeah, you know, but he's just a little too crazy. I'm like, dude, the crazy part is what's going to do it. There's lots of doctors and people and, you know, people that read the science books and stuff. It was your, like, so adamant, like the Elon Musk, like, this has to work.
Starting point is 00:18:16 That's what rocket fueled this thing. Yeah, and it just exploded after that. And then you were so kind. You were like, you know, you just pay us back. You didn't take any interest. Didn't take the equity. Gave us the equity back. I mean, I'll just be eternally grateful for that.
Starting point is 00:18:30 But you want that equity now, don't you? Dude. Dude. Something. Something. It's coming. One day something. We're going to talk online.
Starting point is 00:18:37 One day something. It's coming. It's coming. I promise you. But a lot of people don't know that. And then I started a journey with his family. And Alex is very, very close to his family. They're awesome people.
Starting point is 00:18:47 You helped my mom. Mark and Sandy, yeah. You helped my dad. You helped my cousin. You helped 10 of my best friends. Every one of my friends were screwed up. Like you said, all of their stuff was, everybody was messed up, man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:01 And, you know, and again, I don't want to make this podcast about me, but it was about your belief in me. And I appreciate, you know, you doing that. I mean, again, I'm just eternally grateful. And now that the message is really resonating, I'm glad we finally got a chance to sit down because, you know, I want my audience to hear your story too, because yours is all about mindset goals. Um, you know, what to do when your back is against the wall. I love the fact that, you know, nothing was handed to you. You are definitely a grinder. Um, you've always exhibited the most incredible level of humility to me, even then, yeah, you're the same person now as the young Alex Morton I met back then. You were going for 30-30. You told me you were going to write a book. You've written several now. You told me what records you were going to break in IML. You broke those records.
Starting point is 00:19:52 I just remember you were – I wasn't as – I was psycho committed to the vision, but I wasn't as structured as you were. You seemed to really have a good grasp on like clear vision and goal setting. And, and it's funny because now that I think about it and I look back, I'm like, dude, he, he said he was going to write a book. He wrote a book. He actually wrote more than one book. I remember you still having those meetings in the, in the Porsche tower when your Instagram was just getting off the ground and you're like targets million followers. And then I checked on you a couple of months later, you had a million followers. So talk a little bit about that mindset. Like, where did it come from? Who are your mentors? How'd you build this?
Starting point is 00:20:30 Yeah. I mean, I grew up in a small town, Columbus, Ohio, one pizza shop, two ice cream parlors, and just growing up, man, just in like grade school, I knew like I was a little bit different because some of the teachers were saying certain things to me or the class and I just wasn't really agreeing like the whole preconceived programming that most people were probably programmed the same way like go to school get good grades and go to college if you can't afford college just take out student loans and then go to school for four years and get yourself in debt get yourself more debt yeah graduate go get a job and go work for the man or the woman for the next you know 40, 40 years of your life. And then when you finally retire, you know, your bones are going to be brittle and it's not even going to be a fun situation. So I was hearing this stuff growing up and I'm like, I'm
Starting point is 00:21:13 not going to do that. And I look at like, you knew young, really that you were not going to do that. I found my parents, my parents had Tony Rob, Tony Robin, Tony Robbins, audio cassettes, cassette tapes in the basement. That's how you're dating yourself with that. Yes. And I'm like, cassette tapes. I was like in fourth grade. And then my dad gave me Think and Grow Rich. Oh, best.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Rich Dad, Poor Dad. My parents owned an insurance company. They did well. Back then, I'm like, oh my God, they're mega, mega rich. But my dad drove a Ford Expedition. They weren't wealthy. They had good money. I had a great childhood, blessed with great parents, but I wanted more.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Like where I grew up, there was like three, there was North Bexley, Central Bexley, South Bexley. North was like the really rich and wealthy. Middle Central was us. South was like, I guess, people like a little bit more poor. And I made a decision. I'm going to grow up and I'm going to see what people, what the rich people are doing. Yeah. And I'm going to go do those things. things you know like wow what a what an idea you
Starting point is 00:22:08 know right so at you know 17 i applied a bunch of different college and universities they all tell me no eventually go to arizona state and i get into real estate at 18 because i saw a million dollar listing uh on tv so i got my real estate license the youngest person to you know running around arizona paying girls to wear my t-shirts and alex morton realty it's a fake company didn't even exist like i was very gray area yeah yeah very gray gray area stuff made his marketing fraud you know whatever and then i got introduced to direct sales and i said no no no no no i met a guy making 40 grand a month at 25. Back then, 40 grand a month, you could own the New York Yankees mentally, right? I said, yes. And it's
Starting point is 00:22:51 been a 12-year career. I've spoken on stages in 76 countries, been a part of several billion in sales, and I've done very well financially. but the biggest thing for me is now, you know, looking at like, how did I do it, reverse engineer it and then teach it to as many people as possible. And I was very fortunate to have Bob Proctor. If people don't know the name, you talk about him a lot about the secret, which went viral probably 10, 12, 15 years ago, he was my personal mentor. So it was kind of like Andrew Carnegie, the wealthiest man on the planet at one point. Then it went to Napoleon Hill who wrote Think and Grow Rich. Then it went to Earl Nightingale who was like the father, godfather of personal development. Yes. Bob Proctor went
Starting point is 00:23:36 and worked for Earl Nightingale in his twenties. And I met Bob, I was making $400 a month. Really? So now, and then Bob's passing away you know at the end of covid and we're texting we were going to do an event together that's where break the code came about it's going to be me and bob he passes away and he basically says you know here's the torch you're the next you're you're the only one alive now teaching this stuff you know let's go really wow that's why i feel such a calling and a purpose because this isn't like my information. This is, I mean, you're talking about hundreds of years, centuries and centuries of information. And a lot of it's not taught. It's not taught in high school. It's not taught in college. And
Starting point is 00:24:14 unless you grow up with, you know, decamillionaire parents, or, you know, people like you or Dana White, you're not getting the right information. That's why most people struggle financially and on a health standpoint. You know, it's funny you say that because I feel the same way. I tell my team all the time. I'm like, this information doesn't belong to me. I am blessed enough to have it flow through me. And that's why very often sometimes the message is just about give without the expectation of receipt.
Starting point is 00:24:38 And as such, I make a lot of mistakes. My haters love to pounce on those. But I want to get as much information to the masses as I possibly can. Because I feel like, and I could probably learn a lot from you about my messaging, but I feel like my job is not to impress you with how smart I am. You know, I don't want to be the ultra woke biohacker just talking to other ultra woke biohackers. Right. Because those are not the people that need me. It's the masses.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Right. I mean, all you got to do is walk through Disney World or Universal Studios one afternoon. And just take a slice out of middle America and you can see the trouble that we're in. And the truth is people are not uneducated. They're just ignorant about the alternatives. Yes.
Starting point is 00:25:22 And I don't think that people are sheep or people are stupid or the masses are stupid. I think that they actually are just believing the wrong source. Right. The sources that we've been led to trust, the institutions that educated us and that provide housing for us, that, you know, lend us money and talk to us on the TV. Yeah. Talk to us on the TV and they make our rules and they make our laws. Those must be the most trusted people.
Starting point is 00:25:47 And I think finally, because of the pandemic, it's like, you know, with every tragedy, some good emerges. The world woke up and was like, maybe we got to get information from somewhere else. But I love what you said because you said the information doesn't belong to me. And I feel the same way, man. I don't feel like this information belongs to me. I feel like I'm blessed enough to have it flow to me. And I feel the same way, man. I don't feel like this information belongs to me. I feel like I'm blessed enough to have it flow through me. And as long as I think you keep that vantage point, that's when the universe really, really rewards you.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Absolutely. So what does this path look like for you? I mean, because first of all, I love mindset because it interplays with science so much, right? We are only now beginning to really understand the power of the mind, right? And you understand it from goal setting and, you know, mission, you know, setting and accomplishments, but it has real positive physiologic effects on us. Absolutely. Our mood, our emotional state. You know, people go, well, why would I journal?
Starting point is 00:26:46 Why would I wake in gratitude? You have no idea what the motion of gratitude, the frequency of gratitude does for the body. And now it's getting backed by science. It's like a nice smile for your cells. Yeah. Yeah. So tell me where this goes for you.
Starting point is 00:26:59 How do you get the message out? Yeah, I mean, when I got started in direct sales at 21, you know, there was nobody doing like, there was no young people, you know, spreading this information, right? Like no one ever talked about goal setting. I went to ASU, right? The number, uh, it was the number, number five, I think business school at the time. Like no, no professor was telling me about goals, creative vision, creative mission, desire, this stuff, gratitude, journaling, meditation. None of this stuff is taught anywhere. So I'm like, okay, I'm going to take this company, because we had a healthy energy drink at the time, and that's going to be
Starting point is 00:27:35 the product we're going to sell. But on the back end, I'm going to teach the masses. And at the time, I was 21. So we created this this uh community called the ypr young people revolution so we were kind of revolting against the system the educational system the college the college not i graduated school i have a four-year degree it's on my mom's wall she cries when she looks at it it's amazing but i was like just taking up i'm gonna i'm gonna i i had a desire to take the Bob Proctor, the Tony Robbins, and go to all these people and then get it into the youth. It started at ASU, and it just spread and spread and spread. We took kids that were doing drugs and drinking all the time
Starting point is 00:28:18 and partying all the time. Then I would go to these events, and people's parents would come up to me and say, hey, just so you know, Johnny, he's making a little bit of money in the business, but he put cigarettes down. He stopped playing beer pong every night with his friends. Like he's, he's reading books, like thinking go rich. What's this? Right. Yeah. So we kind of masked like personal development because it's so key to everything in life with this business model in it. And it grew from four people in a dorm room to 96,000 people in four years.
Starting point is 00:28:49 And that was my first big ordeal explosion. That's kind of where my name, my first book, Dorm Room to Millionaire came out. And now for the last eight years, the company I've been associated with, it's all financial literacy. And we're going into health and wellness as well. But we package everything as great products, great services, but on the backend,
Starting point is 00:29:09 where do you see yourself in two, three, four, five years down the road? Making goal cards. Like I, one of the things that I teach is write down exactly what you want in the present tense. I'm so happy and grateful now that I am. And I did this, I was 21. Oh, that I am. Cause I am, you're speaking into existence. When I was 21 years old, these are, see, now I can speak so confidently because I look at my own life. Yeah. I didn't have anything, you know? Right.
Starting point is 00:29:30 And these are the things, these are the tools that helped me achieve. So now, like I wrote down, I'm so happy and grateful now that I'm a millionaire before I'm 25 years old. And I said it every single day, every morning, every, I would be in the car. People would look at me. I'm not even listening to music. I'm literally doing like incantations and affirmations. But guess what? Before I turned 25, made a million dollars.
Starting point is 00:29:51 So I know this stuff works. When I first met you, you were speaking the future into existence. That's what you were doing. You, you believed you had the biggest healthcare wellness company on the planet when you didn't, but you believe one day and guess what? Here we, here we are. Yeah. And that's the things people can take from this episode is like, whatever you want, you get clear on it. Yeah. I teach people things happen three times. Mind number one, number two on paper, number three in the physical,
Starting point is 00:30:18 the physical world. You thought about ultimate, I thought about my success in business, whatever you put it on paper, you make a plan and then you manifest it and you work towards it in the physical. And anybody can take that and go out there and win. One of my favorite biohacks outside of breathwork by far is mineral salts, Baja Gold Sea Salt. Starting point is 00:31:41 actually get energy from conversation you can get energy from other people. Frequencies of opposite wavelength, destructive interference, frequencies of opposite wavelength meet, and the frequency cancels out. And this is why people can suck energy from you. And you were talking about this concept early, early on, when we very, very first met and when I was just starting out in the business. And I remember seeing this start to manifest. And as I started to believe in it, you know, it's like, you know, when my wife would tell me, it's just something
Starting point is 00:32:13 I just don't like about that guy. And I didn't see it, but it was like the frequency was off, right? We call it intuition, but I think it's really sensitivity to frequency. So for people that are, you know, watching the podcast that are like, I have a dream. I have a vision. I have a, don't know what my purpose is. I know what my passion is, but I don't really have a purpose. I'm having a hard time crystallizing it. You know, I talked to him about that from a scientific standpoint. I say, listen, I mean, you're confused in life, just turn inward. And by turn inward, I mean, start focusing on yourself, self-development, start exercising and eat
Starting point is 00:32:45 well if you don't know what else to do treat yourself well and then wait to figure it out yeah um but like how do you how do you start those people off because you know my average um audience is a little bit older um a lot of them are in careers or on pathways and they know that they need to make a change right Right. So what is it? Well, first you got to get absolutely like crystal clear on what it is you want, especially in today's world. There can't just be like,
Starting point is 00:33:12 I want to be rich. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I want to be rich, but then it's like, okay, you have to get like super,
Starting point is 00:33:16 super like clearly defined. Like if you say, I want more money, here's a dollar. That's more money. Right. Right. Like the universe needs,
Starting point is 00:33:23 it's, it's a very specific situation here. And this isn't like all positive thinking mumbo jumbo, like you said, no, you have to go out there and work your butt off. Right. But there's the spiritual side of success and there's the physical side of success. And I believe spirit, the spiritual part is 90 to 95% of the whole deal. Cause there's lots of people that are good at sales and good at speaking, you know, try to write a book, set goals, and you know, they're never going to become a multimillionaire, right? There's people that maybe want to do what you're doing, but they're not doing what it
Starting point is 00:33:51 is you're doing. So you get clearly defined on what it is you want. And then one of the easiest things, one of the easiest principles anybody can relate to and interject it right now into their life, and this is what I did. Find someone or a group of people that have exactly what it is you want. And you can reverse engineer it. Like when I got started in direct sales, I Googled who are the top earning people
Starting point is 00:34:16 in the whole industry. And I tracked them down and I studied every piece of content, every YouTube video, the way they tied their shoes, the way they spoke, their voice inflections. They would make dramatic pauses, and then I would see the room respond a certain way. So I was studying people making 80, 100, $200,000 a month. I'm
Starting point is 00:34:34 making no money a month. But I said, okay, if I say what this guy's saying, and I do what he's doing, eventually the result has to show up in my life. And I believe that to be true. Wow. So anybody that's watching this, whatever their target is, whatever their goal is, instead of you sitting there trying to be Mark Zuckerberg and make the next best app, dude, just find someone that's already doing what it is you're doing. You see it in sports all the time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:00 You know, they were talking to Kobe Bryant back in the day. Kobe, why do you warm up like Michael? Why do you stick your tongue out like Michael? Why do you do the warm up like Michael? Why do you stick your tongue out like Michael? Why do you do the layup like Michael? Why does your free throw routine look like Michael? Kobe's like, because he's the best. Right. I'm modeling the best.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Yeah. Right? So for those of the people listening, find someone that's already, quote, living the life that you really desire to live and study them. Social media, it's free, man. Like, get on there and study the people that have what you want and start to live and study them. Social media, it's free, man. Like get on there and study the people that have what you want and start to do little incremental things, right? Like a lot of people, obviously they want to become the ultimate human. And I've watched tons and tons of your content. And you always, you always let people know, listen, you don't
Starting point is 00:35:38 have to have a lot of money to do this. Yes, you can buy these machines and stuff, but you can be, you can have no money and do the breathing. You can have no money and go ground outside, right? Put your feet in the sand or the dirt or the grass. You can meditate. It doesn't cost money. You know, there's things people can do. So whatever somebody really desires to go out there and do, go find someone that's already doing it and start to implement a few of those habits.
Starting point is 00:36:01 And eventually you're doing a habit over and over and over again, it will become a discipline and you'll become unconsciously competent on those things. You'll do it and you're going to get the results. And that's what, that's what I did. I still do it today. You know, I, uh, I do think of myself as a pretty humble person. Become unconsciously competent. Unconsciously competent. So there's four levels of understanding. There's unconscious incompetence. I don't know that I don't know. I don't know that I don't know. I don't know that I don't know. And then you go up to consciously incompetent.
Starting point is 00:36:30 I know that I don't know. Like when I met you, I didn't even know that I didn't even know. And then you let me know, hey man, you don't know. You obviously don't know. We got to go through that one more time. Sounds like who's on first.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Unconsciously incompetent, yet people don't know that they don't know. You don't know, and that's like half of America. Probably more than half. Just running around and eating processed foods. Where are you going? Going to work. Why are you going to work? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:36:57 So true. What are you eating? Burger King. It's cheap. I don't know. I'm just eating it. People don't think. People don't even know how to think.
Starting point is 00:37:07 That's an activity. Thinking. What are you thinking about all the time? The book is think and grow rich, not work hard and get rich, not breathe on the balcony and get rich. Hey, I breathe on my balcony. No, I know. Don't knock that. But health, money, it's all the same fundamentals. It's all the same fundamentals. So unconsciously incompetent, consciously incompetent. I now know that I don't know. So now I can learn. I can get mentorship.
Starting point is 00:37:33 I can watch Gary's YouTube channel. I can follow Ultimate Human and understand, okay, if I do these things, I'm going to lose body fat. I'm going to gain muscle mass. I'm going to sleep better. Right? And then you go to consciously competent which means you have to think about doing the right things and that's a good place to be but at the very tip top obviously you in the health space is unconsciously competent you don't have
Starting point is 00:37:54 to think about it you just do it oh my gosh yeah unconsciously competent i i mean i don't know if that's the highest level i feel like that's where I'm at You have to be If you're not there Then we're screwed I'm like blindly You wake up You don't have to give too much thought When you wake up
Starting point is 00:38:11 You probably have a routine Oh I have a Right away Yeah yeah Right away Yeah you don't have to It's just You just do it
Starting point is 00:38:17 But at first You know We have to wake up and be like Okay I need to go Outside and get first slide I need to drink the water I need to take my D3K2 But you graduate eventually You get to where you're at You're bringing a little tear to my eye Saying all that dude Like, okay, I need to go outside and get first slide. I need to drink the water. I need to take my D3K2.
Starting point is 00:38:26 But you graduate eventually. You get to where you're at. You're bringing a little tear to my eye saying all that, dude. You're just firing. You're just firing. Yeah. Yeah, because, you know, it is kind of funny. People ask me what my routine is every morning.
Starting point is 00:38:38 It's very simple. But I also play this little game with myself because I have this, like, David Goggins method of not negotiating with myself because I wake up in the morning and I sort of have this map to get to the coffee maker and I go from my bedroom to my sink and splash water on my face and brush my teeth. And then I walk right in the other room and get in a cold punch. And I don't know that there's been a single morning when I walk in there and I'm like,
Starting point is 00:39:01 I can't wait to do this. It's like, I get in that room and I'm like, if I just go out of this room and down the hall, there's a nice warm cup of coffee waiting for me. But I stand there and I'm like, I'll guilt myself. And, um, and I do some breath work and then bang, I get right in that cold punch and I get out after 30 seconds. You can do the same thing with a cold shower. You don't need to buy an expensive cold punch and then the switch is on like the light bulb's on and i just feel amazing you know the dopamine rush and i'm i'm just clear and cognizant um then i go in again on the treadmill for like 10 to 12 minutes breathe a little oxygen go down get the red light bed and then i get coffee and by that time you know and i'll i'll head out to the balcony do a little
Starting point is 00:39:42 first light and some some breath work and after that after that routine, what's astounding now is like when I'm meeting like all these experts, I just had one of the scientists from Whoop on who's taking big data and analyzing all of this different Whoop data. And she said, confirmed what I anecdotally was experiencing in that getting this first light into your eyes is the greatest predictor of good circadian sleep that night. And it was one of the greatest predictors of performance and mood. And so now I don't miss it. And I actually notice the days when I do it and I don't. Wow. And so for you and for the people that are trying to develop a healthy mindset, right? What are some of the non-negotiable practices? Well, for one, you have
Starting point is 00:40:34 to have self-awareness. And I know a lot of people throw that word around, become self-aware, but like it's a big deal because one of the biggest things is you have to become self-aware of the fact that every single day there's a battle going on between what we desire and all the distractions over here every day i don't care you're worth 50 million 100 million you know 7 billion or you're uh homeless on the street in miami beach every single day you have desires and you have these distractions and you have to become self-aware of what is holding me back from obtaining my goals dreams and desires and for a lot of young people and i work with a lot of you know younger people um you know it's the normal normal suspects like the same things that it was for me like when i was in college i was going to asu was a playboy ranked the number one party school in america in america like dude i'm from a small town in ohio i go to asu scottsdale
Starting point is 00:41:32 like yeah you know girls look different over there yeah you know what i mean like people got money and i'm like oh my god like this is nuts but i got into business my my end of my sophomore junior year and i'm talking to you know mentors and different people. And they're like, listen, man, if you, if you think for one solidary second, you can drink to the point of blacking out five nights a week, sleeping until 1.00 PM, 2.00 PM, foggy clogged, eating fast food. And you're going to go out there and build the biggest business under 35 in the history of network marketing, dude, you're smoking something funny, you know? Yeah. So people, like anybody can do this.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Sit down tonight, pen and paper, make a line, you know, a tea spreadsheet. What are the things I desire in my life? And what are the things potentially holding me back? Is it Netflix? Is it fantasy football? Is it, you know, drinking too much with your buddies over here? And start to eliminate these things and do more of these things. Like, if there's a negative habit in our lives,
Starting point is 00:42:27 you can't just erase the negative habit. You must replace the habit. So instead of driving, like, a little thing, like turning your car into a mobile classroom, right? Like, instead of driving and jamming out to Drake and Bieber and, you know, the Swifties out there, you know what I mean? Turn that stuff down, man, and turn up Ultimate Human Podcast. Turn up a Tony Robbins.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Turn up an Alex Morton audio book and start to program yourself to win. See, a lot of people will listen to this and say, yeah, yeah, yeah, that stuff doesn't matter. Teach me more physical stuff and physical stuff. Listen, if it was only the physical things that mattered, dude, everybody would be a multimillionaire and they'd all be shredded with a six-pack. It's your self-image it's your belief system our belief system is created by the things we see hear and experience yeah right like what are these called there are what eyes eyes yeah right eyes okay what word is in the word eyes y-e-s oh y Oh, Y-E-S. Yes. Everybody say yes. Yes. Right? So whatever we see is an automatic yes. People say, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, it's true, actually. It is true. If I see
Starting point is 00:43:32 where I'm going and I see this beautiful life and this beautiful vision that I have for myself, I'm going to attract the people, the places, the opportunities, the mentors in my life to bring me what it is I want. That's what you did. Yeah. I didn't know who you were. You didn't know who I was. We meet, universe is doing the cards, right? All of a sudden, oh, Alex is going to do this real estate thing with this Grant Cardone guy, blah, blah, blah. Hey, Grant, meet Gary.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Gary meets Grant. You change his life. He introduced you to this guy. Boom, and now we're here. Yeah, so true. So the law of attraction is real, but it must also be backed up with the law of action. I was going to say action.
Starting point is 00:44:07 So feed your desires, starve the distractions, and focus on where it is you're going. And don't underestimate what you can accomplish this week, this month, this year. You know, greatness takes time. I mean, how long have you been at this profession? Ten years. So a decade. Most people, you put a decade of blood, sweat, and tears into something, most people won't give it ten weeks.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Right. Or they'll give it a good few weeks and it didn't work out. Yeah, it doesn't work. It's a scam. The gym's a scam. Yeah, it's funny because you suck at everything when you start. I still remember the first time walking on stage. Me too. I was so the first time walking on stage. I just, I, I, I.
Starting point is 00:44:46 Me too. I, I was so choked up and nervous. And I, I rehearsed my, my speech and I just went blank. And I remember one of, one of my buddies who was like, kind of like a speaking coach of sorts, not an official one, gave me one of the best tips ever. He's like, just memorize the first 30 seconds to 60 seconds of your talk and say it over and over and over and over and over. Because if you don't, if you go out there and you don't go mute and you blurt out that first minute, just from pure memory, it'll break the ice for you. And I, and that actually ended up, you know, help helping me break the ice. But I remember how, how bad, you know, you sucked at it.
Starting point is 00:45:27 We suck at everything when we start. We're bad at everything, right? We have to practice. Yeah. It's like even the best athletes on the planet, like, you know, Tom Brady, for instance, his story is insane. He was the last draft pick into the NFL. That's insane. Tom, like the greatest ever.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Yeah. You know what I mean? Like nobody's just you know some people are born with more natural ability for sure but dude hard work hard work's gonna be you know late lazy talent hard work hard work's gonna beat that man like i because i listen i know i'm not the best recruiter best speaker best author in the world but i beat a lot of people out because of just sheer grinding work ethics sacrifice and just doing whatever the hell needs to be done to get to the end result yeah and i and i feel the same way about my career because i i like i say i don't feel like i work
Starting point is 00:46:14 a day in my life and i choose to read you know about the science and study because it's what i do if i was on vacation like i was telling you before podcast, like this doesn't feel like work for me, but this is what I do. And the fact that I get to sit down with some of the most interesting, fascinating people that are changing the world, either in medicine or a mood mindset and people like you,
Starting point is 00:46:35 it's like, this is the greatest blessing in life. And I feel like if people would just maybe take some time to figure out what really drives them, like what would I otherwise do for free? Right. And how can I monetize it? Right. And maybe that's a great place to start. It is.
Starting point is 00:46:53 I'm not the mindset coach, but. No, it is. Because whatever you choose to do. I'm going to write that book. Find something you can do for free. There you go. And dedicate your life to it. But anything anybody does, at some point,
Starting point is 00:47:05 you're going to have challenges, obstacles, maybe even a big problem. And unless you absolutely love it, like when I went and made close to 2 million and then my savings account dwindled down to less than 90K and my rent was more than my income and I was living with the wrong girl and I was anxiety, I was crying myself to sleep, I was 227 pounds. I was, I was on my knees, like praying to God, like, please give me one more chance. I'll do it again. And I won't have any ego. I won't, I'll do it all through humility. I'll focus on other people. Just give me one more opportunity. Like even in those moments, I love what I was doing so much. I refused to throw in the towel. I just didn't care. I was getting attacked. I'll never forget the most hurtful tweet ever. Literally.
Starting point is 00:47:49 I hope you and your family die in a car crash. No. Swear. Really? I mean, it was bad, man. It is amazing how much vitriol is out there on social media. It's like how upset and evil and insane do you have to be to wake up in the morning but you know what today i'm gonna wake up and i'm gonna try to destroy
Starting point is 00:48:09 that guy or that girl via social media yeah it's crazy man a lot of people that do it though it's incredible i i sometimes there's a pervasive mentality that i'm good because everybody else is bad so i'm gonna spend all my time pointing out the bad in other people because that'll somehow make me look good i mean i've never subscribed to that philosophy. And all you're doing is it's all a boomerang. If you throw out evil, hate, jealousy, envy, scam, dude, it's coming back to you 10 times. Like my dad always taught me, we were growing up, and again, they weren't super, super wealthy whatsoever. We were upper middle class, right?
Starting point is 00:48:40 But we would go and he would say, always treat the janitor the same way you would treat the CEO. And when you go out to eat dinner, you tip well, you say, please, you say, thank you. And those things stuck with me because then he said, Alex, whatever you put out into the world, it's going to come back to you, man. So if you're a nice, good, genuine person with empathy to humans, and you want to make a difference in the lives of others, you do all these good things, you're going to get blessed beyond your wildest imagination. I did a podcast with Will Ahmed, the CEO of Whoop. And he's built a $3.6 billion company. Very, very, very smart guy.
Starting point is 00:49:15 He's got an incredible team. And he was talking to me about how his favorite thing to do when he's hiring somebody is to go out to lunch with them. And he looks at how they treat the waitstaff. Wow. And I was like, wow, that's a really interesting psychological practice, like evaluation. And I just thought it was a really cool way
Starting point is 00:49:35 of evaluating somebody's character that you only have a few minutes to get to know. Because if they're nasty to the waitstaff, you're like, okay, now we see where we stand. How do you treat people? You know, I'm married now four years. So if you're interviewing with Whoop, be nice to, okay. Yeah. Now we see where we stand. How do you treat people? You know, I'm married now four years. So if you're interviewing with Whoop, be nice to the waiter. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:50 But I remember like, you know, I'm married now four years, but I remember, you know, going on dates with girls or different things. And I would, man, if they were ever rude to a waiter or a waitress or a Starbucks person, I would be like, dude, it's over before it even starts. Yeah, it makes my flesh crawl. I can't stand that. And another thing I can't stand is these rich, wealthy people, they think they're above.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Like all these nice hotels all over the world, man, it hurts me so bad when I see people treat the valet guy bad. Like, give me the water. Yeah. You know, take my plate. Yeah. I'm thinking, dude, does it, does it kill you to say, please, thank you. Just be a good person. You want to be an ultimate human, be a fricking good human too. Yeah. I love that, man. So, you know, if, if, if I was tomorrow going to wake up and engage in like the, the perfect morning practice, I mean, I love the idea of writing down the desires that you want to get out of your life and the distractions. I actually was thinking about it when you were going through that list.
Starting point is 00:50:57 And I think we all do. I mean, sometimes we forget how simple it is. It's like to be aware and just to pay attention to the things that could be distracting me, that could knock me off my goal. So I write these down. I mean, are you a big on journaling? If you were to list, you know, other than your own books, like the must-read books for a healthy mindset. Because I think a lot of times as people get older, the fear grows and they actually are less likely to make that change because they definitely don't want to regret leaving the
Starting point is 00:51:32 safe zone. Right. And how do they develop that mindset? Because most people are not born with that. Right. And they don't have parents that have sort of given them that will and passion. So we've had so many amazing challenges this entire year that i decided that august we're going to take a break and it's just going to be the strongest august

So at first, it may seem a
Starting point is 00:52:44 little bit like, you know, weird or different. But like for me, very simple. I wake up in the morning, I don't touch my phone because the first 20 minutes upon waking up is when our subconscious mind is the most impressionable. So you wake up in the morning, you check your emails, the Twitter feed, the, you know, Instagram, turn on cnn constantly negative news yeah right constantly i mean come on man it's like your first 20 minutes is what uh world war three you know uh the ukraine russia gaza you know war rape you know death inflation everyone's dying everybody's sick monkey pox monkey pox that was my favorite if everything negative, your first 20 minutes, dude, your day is going to be tough. Yeah. So you wake up, you don't touch your phone right away. You get into gratitude. You don't
Starting point is 00:53:31 have to journal. You can just wake up. I think about things. I pray. I get into prayer. 30 seconds. Thanking, like you do it. Thanking God for another day. Right. I always talk about health, wealth, love, happiness, growth, and abundance. Mentally and spiritually, I connect with my source. Whatever people believe in is amazing. The oak tree, Muhammad, the Torah, Christianity, whatever it is. Everyone can do their thing, right? But I think it's important to give thanks because I don't know the exact number, but every night we go to sleep, isn't there like 12,000 or 20,000 people
Starting point is 00:54:00 that never wake up the next morning? Something like that. So, hey, I'm here. I'm already winning. I'm awake, right? 50 years ago, they didn't have warm showers you take a warm shower we get pissed off the plane gets delayed 10 minutes yeah you know so gratitude um and then and then i kind of like start my day uh 20 grams of protein you know water 20 grams of protein like this morning i go down and i hit cardio i don't eat i go down i hit cardio um drink
Starting point is 00:54:25 alkaline water think about the day i actually plan the day the night before that's it that's like a hack for sure most successful people probably do that but like i know my google calendar set i know what i have to do for the day right you know what you're going to do the next day right like i say i teach people don't go to sleep until you know what you need to execute on the next day right proper planning prevents poor production. My dad would say prevents piss poor performance. Yeah, piss poor performance. I like that one better.
Starting point is 00:54:53 He used to say that to me all the time. He also used to say, my dad was like the man of the one-liners. And until I was 16 years old, whenever I messed something up, he would go, you need to get your shit in one sock. And I was like, you know, I knew something up, he would go, you need to get your shit in one sock. And I was like, you know, I knew what it meant just by how he would use it. Like I'd leave my bike in the yard, rain all night, and he'd open the door in the morning and be like, Gary, your bike's in the yard. You know, you need to get your shit in one sock. And finally, when I was 16 years old, I was like, Dad, what does that mean?
Starting point is 00:55:21 Like where did that come from, right? I mean, I get what it means. And he's like, oh, it's an old Navy term. Like if you got shot down, you were supposed to take everything with you even that got it you're supposed to go in your sock and that meant you really had your stuff together got it for survival it makes more sense dogs wouldn't find you but yeah but for 16 years i was like wandering around like you know what is okay in the sock what does he mean in the sock i knew you actually don't want me to go to the bathroom, defecate in my sock, but my bike's in the yard. And you use that phrase and use the last time I left the tools all over the shed.
Starting point is 00:55:51 So I kind of get what it means. And then he had one of the best definitions of life I'd ever heard. He said, you know, life is what happens to you while you're on your way to doing something else. And I was like, man, that really makes a lot of sense. And for a lot of us, I think we're truly on our way to doing something else. I was in the mortality space. Um, you know, you, you, you were at college. Um, you know, you, that standard plan was in front of you. Yeah. You just decided I'm going to do something else. Um, and I remember you got a lot of flack because wasn't there a period of time you were telling kids, don't go to college. You don't need to go to college.
Starting point is 00:56:26 People can pull up the old YouTube videos. I was just saying the truth. I said, if you think you're going to graduate and go take a job for $40,000, $50,000, $60,000, $70,000 a year pre-tax, and somehow you're going to go get your dream house, your dream car, travel to Europe once a year, you know, go live in a house over here. You're, you're, you're, you're nuts. Like 3% of the world. Oh, 97%, 97% of all the gold, the crypto, the stocks, the real estate, like these people are business owners. They aren't investors and they need to take care of their health. Like, so again, there's another frame framework modeling. Like I said, like find someone that has what you want, say what they say, do what they do. You'll get what
Starting point is 00:57:08 they have every single time. Another, another great piece of advice that somebody gave me that I give to people now, wherever I go travel and speak is don't listen to 97% of people. Yeah, exactly. Like if you just don't follow the masses. And I think we learned that a couple years ago with, you know, certain things that happened in our country and world. Oh, yeah. It's like, dude, if everyone's going right, you probably should go left. Yeah. If you just did that, you'd probably be in a better place tomorrow than you are today.
Starting point is 00:57:34 And where do you get, like, I think a lot of people just lack mentors in their life. I mean, for you to have a Bob Proctor. I know. I mean, that's like Dale Carnegie falling out of the sky, right? I mean, that is really like a Michael Jordan or LeBron James saying, hey, you want me to teach you how to play basketball? Yeah, he even said Tony Robbins has done more for the space than anybody else. But I believe Bob is the best educator on the science and the laws of success and achievement. I mean, Tony quotes him a lot.
Starting point is 00:58:08 Yeah. Still, yeah. And John Maxwell, you know. And I've seen John speak a lot of times. In fact, my ex-wife is married to his nephew. Wow. She's Amy Maxwell now. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:20 Yeah. Interesting. So his brother's son is my ex-wife, tells him. And he's actually a very nice guy. And I'm very close to my ex-wife. She was great baby mama, but, uh, and we have, we, we, we still have a good relationship, but I've actually read, you know, a lot of his books. He, he actually talks about living a life of significance, not a life of success. And I remember the first time that he started talking about that, um, it really resonated with me because he said most people want a
Starting point is 00:58:45 successful life stuff, marks of success. But a life of significance is how much you are in service to others. And maybe unconsciously, I realized that when I stopped really focusing on trying to be wealthy and started focusing on people's well-being. That's when I became wealthy. In fact, Grant Cardone told me one time, he said, the word wealth is derived from the word to be well in being. And he's like, so it used to be, if you were wealthy, you were well in being, you were healthy. And so have, you know, as you now start to become other, you know, entrepreneurs, mentors, what kind of pathway do you describe in your book?
Starting point is 00:59:33 What are you laying out for them? Well, to speak on the significance thing, I really believe success is about you. Significance is about other people. Yeah. Like I can look back on my career and it really is satisfying it is if people hear that they're like yeah whatever easy for you to say oh when you're in service with the penthouse and the rolls royces and easy for you to say but it's actually the truth yeah it really is like i look back on my career the most gratifying satisfying moments
Starting point is 00:59:59 where i would be on a stage and i would introduce one of my leaders that just hit 100 grand a month or made a million million dollar eric wory of Fame induction, you know, and it really is like helping other people. So when I sit down with people, again, it goes back to, you know, the spiritual side and the physical side, you know, the physical side of business, you have prospecting, presenting, promoting, you have, you know, writing contracts, anything fit, anything physical, but the spiritual side is where most people miss they miss the mark and i really believe you will never outperform your own self image wow i just believe that wow like when i had nothing so true that is so true and i was broke
Starting point is 01:00:38 and broken i had to create this is what bob taught me he said you he said um how does it feel to be a millionaire i said dude i don't know about him you know i got i got a thousand dollars he said I had to create, this is what Bob taught me. He said, how does it feel to be a millionaire? I said, dude, I don't know. I got $1,000. He said, you're never going to be one then. So it took me so long to understand what the hell he was talking about. Beginning with the end in mind, feeling as if, like how would you walk, talk, act, think, drink, sleep,
Starting point is 01:01:02 if you were making $83,000 per month, which is a million dollars per year. Act like that person right now. So that when people meet you, they're not meeting Alex Morton, 22-year-old, drunk college kid. They're meeting Alex Morton at 10 grand a month, 50 grand a month, 100 grand a month. So I would start to bring people into my business, and they thought I was already making six figures. And then they thought I was making seven figures. And I remember I was at one of Eric's events. I spoke on the rising star panel. I was doing pretty well at the time. GoPro or GoPro. Yep. Way back in the day. And this gentleman gets brought on stage. He's wearing a red jacket and he, and he says a million dollars a month. I make a million
Starting point is 01:01:39 dollars a month. And he was selling coffee. And I wrote, I said a million dollars and I wrote it down and everyone around me said, dude, he's the only one that makes a million dollars a month and he was selling coffee. And I wrote, I said a million dollars and I wrote it down and everyone around me said, dude, he's the only one that makes a million dollars a month in the whole world of this industry. Like no one does what he does. No one can do what he does. He's literally Michael Jordan. And I'm like, in my own mind, I said, okay, well, I'm going to build my self image to a million dollars a month. And it didn't happen next year. It didn't take two years, but four years later I had a million dollar a month because I built the self image and I acted as if I was early. Because when you act like that, you're going to do the right things.
Starting point is 01:02:08 The ultimate human, even if you're fat, overweight, obese right now, unhealthy, you just got a crazy bad blood report from one of Gary's nurses. Okay, you're going to get on the right meds. You're going to do the right things. You need to implant it right now, the seed in your mind of I am healthy. And see that image. I see six months the blood the blood report i can already see the numbers yeah and then it's gonna you're gonna be more easily motivated and inspired to do what you need to do to make the numbers on that blood report
Starting point is 01:02:37 look like you want it to look you know what's crazy is i i read an article one time that um oprah winfrey had credited her uh weight loss to a philosopher named Gary Zukav. He wrote a book called Seat of the Soul and Soul Stories, I think. And the article talked about how he was the only one that was ever able to get her to lose weight. And when they asked him, you know, what did you do to get Oprah Winfrey to lose weight? He said, I had her stop seeing herself as a fat person wow it just rang in my mind I mean I had her stop seeing herself as a fat person if you're a smoker stop seeing yourself as a smoker if you're broke stop seeing yourself if you're in debt and all you
Starting point is 01:03:16 focus on is how do I get out of debt you're speaking debt you need to know I'm so happy and grateful now that I'm wealthy yeah leave. Leave debt in the trash can, man. Leave fat, overweight, my genetics, I'm big boned. I dealt with this. I was 227. I would freak, I was eating ice cream at night, like across the street. I would walk over there.
Starting point is 01:03:35 It's called Sugar Bowl in Scottsdale. Eating 2000 calories of ice cream. Yeah. You know, why am I not, why am I gaining weight? Because dude, you're doing the wrong things and you're seeing yourself as this, you know why am i not why am i gaining weight because dude you're doing the wrong things and you're seeing yourself as this you know fatter person see yourself as someone who's fit yeah that is so true the image that you know and then i said what did i do i'm like i'm looking at fit fit fit guys i'm looking at fit people i'm following fit people that look good in suits so
Starting point is 01:04:00 one day i can look good in a suit right Right. So I burned it in my subconscious mind, put emotion behind it, and then did the actionable physical steps. That's the equation, man. Spiritual side, physical side, you got to marry the two, but most people miss the mark on the spiritual side. Wow. That is so true and so powerful. Brother, I am so grateful that you came and spent this time with me today. I've never really publicly thank you for believing in Sage and I and for really putting up $150,000 when $150,000 was everything in the world to us and really helping, you know, be a big part of the launch of my career. I think everyone can benefit from what you do and what you teach. How does my audience find you? Yeah. They don't know who you are. Well, first off,
Starting point is 01:04:50 I'm just as grateful for you and your family. And, you know, I talk about you all over the world. And it's just, I use you as an example in my teachings because you literally did what these principles are. Like no one can argue that you know when you crystallize them it helps me realize that that was the the mindset that i had although i wasn't consciously focused on having you were going to lose your house but you refused to be negative you because you were sold out you were all in on in on where it is you were going. Starting point is 01:05:33 I got a Telegram channel. And then soon, maybe when this comes out, I'm launching. I finally did what Bob told me to do. He's like, please make a university, make a program where people can access it. I just never wanted to sell anything. Yeah. But now I'm at a point where I don't need to disclose financials, but I've done enough to where I feel I can now, you know, feel okay. Like, you know, if someone makes $100 million in something and they're like, hey, man, I'll teach it to you for, you know, $1,000 or $2,000, I think now it feels okay.
Starting point is 01:06:04 Yeah. I'm not saying I made $100 million, but you guys get but you guys get the point right so that's going to be accessible um i just want to help people man just like you yeah i just want to help people you really do too man i i i see that genuity in you i mean i've been to honduras guatemala nigeria with bodyguards you know i remember when darwin there with the machine gun, we went to Johannesburg, you know, machine gun people. And like people say, Alex, don't go to that part of Columbia because they're going to literally
Starting point is 01:06:30 kidnap you and all that. And I just, I feel like I'm protected by God. I really feel like that. And I feel, I've, I know my message has helped so many people because we've helped 700 plus people create full-time incomes,
Starting point is 01:06:41 dozens of millionaires. And I, cause it's not just about money, but when you make money, you can help other people. Like you can't feed him unless your plate's overflowing with food. So impact, help, serve, and bring truth to the world. You bring truth. What you do, you're going up against some pretty powerful,
Starting point is 01:07:03 wealthy, scary institutions. Yes. And you're doing up against some pretty powerful, wealthy, scary institutions. Yes. And you're doing it anyway. Yeah. And I'm going up against, you know, the mainstream, you know, just folk, make people complete robots and cogs in a machine. I'm like, no, you can break free. You can own your own business. You can have, you can have it all.
Starting point is 01:07:18 You can have the marriage. You can have the money. You can have the health. You can't have it all, but you need the right information. And if I can help people even 1%, I feel good that is so true man i end every podcast by asking all my guests the same question there's no right or wrong answer to this question but what does it mean to you to be an ultimate human excelling in every facet and area of your life so for me like my spokes on the wheel health wealth, wealth, love, happiness,
Starting point is 01:07:47 and then you're doing your growth, you're serving of service, and then you have an abundant life. That to me is the ultimate human. Wow.
