Wake Me Up: Morning Positivity - A 10 Minute Meditation That Actually Quiets Anxiety
Episode Date: August 5, 2026Calm anxiety with this 10 minute guided meditation, built around one breathing technique your nervous system responds to almost instantly, and one simple mental shift that gets at the actual root of a...nxious thinking. Use it the moment stress starts to spiral, before it has the chance to take over. By the time you open your eyes, you'll feel lighter, steadier, and calmer...both in your body and in your mind. Most anxiety meditations only solve half the problem...they relax the body and hope the mind follows along. But anxiety isn't only physical; it's psychological too, fed by the stories and judgments the mind quietly stacks on top of whatever's actually happening, and almost no one is ever taught how to release that layer. This episode offers the solution. Ten minutes here, and you're working on anxiety at both the physical and psychological levels, body and mind together...a shift small enough to fit into any time of day or night, and changes far more than these ten minutes. This meditation session guides you through: - A fast-acting breathing technique (the physiological sigh) that signals safety to your nervous system - A quick, but effective, release for the physical tension anxiety hides in your body - A grounding practice for noticing the stories your mind builds around stress, and letting them go - A short moment of stillness to let the shift settle in - Closing affirmations that anchor calm and safety as your baseline Return to this whenever anxiety shows up...first thing in the morning, right before something stressful, at bedtime, or any moment you need to reset. Be sure to listen all the way through for the full effect. The more often you come back to it, the more naturally calm will become your mind's default state. #meditation #guidedmeditation #anxiety Check out the Wake Me Up Mindset Coach app: http://studio.com/wakemeup. Most meditations just tell you to relax.
But that skips the real problem.
Anxiety isn't just in the body.
It's fed psychologically in the mind by the story we layer on top of what's happening.
And that's what makes this meditation different.
Not only will we relax the body, but will also unravel the story in the mind.
So the stress releases both physically and psychologically.
No experience necessary and no hard work.
Just find a nice comfortable position.
And once you're there, gently close your eyes and just take a few deep breaths with me,
inhaling through your nose and then an extra long exhale out through the mouth.
You can even turn it into a little.
a sigh if you want. Let's do that a couple more times. Inhale through the nose and sigh it back out.
Even slower. This is the best way to tell your nervous system that you're safe. Inhaling again and exhale.
Even slower this time. One more like this. Inhaling, a bit deeper and release. Long.
and slow, allowing your breath to return to its natural rhythm and depth.
Whatever feels easy and effortless to you, envisioning that each breath gathers just a bit of
that tension and stress within you and then expels it from your body on the exhale.
And through this process of gathering and releasing, you can,
invite your body to soften a bit more with each breath, relaxing the muscles of your face,
unclenching your jaw, rolling your shoulders back, and all the way down, just using
relaxation in the body to serve as a guide for the mind. Now give yourself permission just to be
here. You have nothing else to do right now. No problems to solve. If a worry shows up,
that's okay. Your mind is doing what minds are supposed to do. Plan and protect. But right now,
you don't have to do anything with this worry. There's nothing to fix in this moment.
You see, anxiety isn't the situation.
itself. It's the story that the mind builds on top of it. That story is your mind trying to protect you.
Sometimes that story isn't even true, but one thing's for sure. It doesn't need to be repeated.
And definitely not right now. So just notice the story. Thank your mind for trying to protect.
you and then let it go by coming back to the breath, re-soffening those muscles in your face.
More times you go through that cycle of letting the story come up, noticing it, and releasing it,
the more you'll relieve your stress and anxiety.
Because each time you notice yourself, coming back to that story,
You've given yourself the opportunity to move one step farther away from that stress and that anxiety.
So just let that sink in for a moment.
Now, deepen this practice.
We'll turn to a few closing affirmations, which you can repeat out loud or in your mind after me.
I am safe right now. I am calm. Everything is okay in this moment. I can handle anything that comes my way.
I am exactly where I need to be wonderful. Now take one final deep breath in, letting that exhale
be the longest you've had today. And then slowly bring yourself back to the room. Maybe bring
some gentle movement just to wake the body.
And as you gather yourself and come out of that,
notice how you feel right now,
maybe a little lighter,
maybe a little less tense.
Whatever sensations you notice,
I'd love to hear in a comment or review.
But that's all for now.
Thanks so much for joining me.
And I hope you save this episode
for any time you need,
a little de-stress.
Until next time, go out and have an absolutely fantastic day.
