Hello, everyone, and welcome to Wake Me Up, the podcast where morning people are made.
I'm your host, Tyler.
This episode is a meditation mini that will help you to calm yourself during moments of stress or anxiety.
It's really simple, but really effective.
Now, let's go ahead and dive right in.
Wherever you are, make your way to a comfortable seated position.
If you're still in bed, take a deep breath, roll over, and climb out of your bed, and just relax in a chair.
You don't need to expend a lot of effort, and this meditation is quite relaxing.
What we're going to do today is a great little exercise to use if you're ever feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or anxious about something.
What we'll do is gently guide our bodies into a relaxed state.
We often talk about the mind and body as though they're somehow separate, but they're not.
They're part of the same system.
And what you do with your body affects your mind and vice versa.
So by calming our bodies, our minds will tend to follow suit.
So make sure that you're comfortable.
But sitting upright, allow your face to soften.
and your shoulders to soften.
Take a deep breath in.
And when you exhale,
gently close your eyes.
Let's take a few breaths together at first.
And with these,
try to let your exhales be a little bit longer
than your inhales.
So, inhale, hold, and exhale.
Again, inhale, hold, and exhale.
and just let the air fall in and out.
Don't try to push it or force it.
Let's do one more.
Inhale, hold, and exhale.
Now that you're beginning to settle in,
imagine a single ray of light.
It's warm, golden, and steady.
Everything that this ray of light touches,
immediately softens and relaxing.
down. And this ray of light begins to shine on your feet and just on your feet. And as it settles there,
you feel your feet soften. Any tension dissolves. And you just breathe down into your feet
to support them in relaxing.
